Today on 2 Pros and a Cup of Joe, the Lakers and Heat look like the most consistent teams in the NBA playoffs. The guys aren’t buying Cal McNair’s denial about forcing the pick of CJ Stroud and Bob Huggins might not recover from his homophobic slurs on “In Case You Missed It.”

What up?

Speaker 1 (01:21):
Jonas? Hey, what's happening? Is hanging out?

Speaker 2 (01:24):
How about them Lakers?

Speaker 1 (01:25):
Huh?

Speaker 2 (01:25):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (01:25):
How about it?

Speaker 2 (01:26):
We did someone on the show guarantee victory for Golden
State instrum.

Speaker 1 (01:29):
No, I just said plus three?

Speaker 2 (01:32):
How'd that work out?

Speaker 1 (01:33):
Take a push? Better than how I did this week?
Was crazy?

Speaker 3 (01:37):
That's a push I would have never thought. Yeah, never
thought it. Yeah, that's a for the Laker.

Speaker 2 (01:42):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:43):
Good for the Burtes of the world. I guess he'll
be in front of that. Uh.

Speaker 3 (01:46):
That's six or four in Paula again today recording a
video Why the Switches is going off? What is Lakers?
Jersey on?

Speaker 2 (01:53):
Didn't that line close at plus two and a half?

Speaker 3 (01:56):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (01:57):
Yes, I believe so, okay, but at the time our
discussion it was three.

Speaker 2 (02:01):
Oh is that what's up? Addie?

Speaker 3 (02:04):
I see you stand loyal to the p though I
see you stand loyal to that pe hat. Baby stand
pirates first place, Pittsburgh pirates. And you know what pirates
do when they leave their ship right to go get
another one, They burn it.

Speaker 2 (02:14):
Okay, do they always burn it?

Speaker 3 (02:16):
Had I had a teammate, y'all, remember Jesse Armstad play
for you and all that. So Jesse, Jesse is always
saying in the locker room before we go out to
the field, He's like, var He's like, you know they
over there, right, I said, what you mean? He said,
the team the other team, they over there? They over there, said,
I said, yeah. He's like, nah, man, See what you

(02:37):
gotta understand is we got to burn the ship. Said
what you're talking about? Jesse said, you can't go back.
We can't go back. We got to burn the ship
because we got to take their s.

Speaker 1 (02:53):
Let's go.

Speaker 4 (02:54):
I mean, I didn't think that was necessarily applied to pirates.
I thought that was just a general like when they
came over for like a battle on ships, that's what
they did, because it was like a sign of intimidation
and all of that too.

Speaker 3 (03:05):
When I looked it up in some definition, because I
did look it up because I ain't know what the
hell he was saying to me, but I dug it,
Like I dug it, Like can.

Speaker 2 (03:15):
You imagine that?

Speaker 4 (03:16):
Imagine like a bunch of boats show up in your harbor.

Speaker 2 (03:19):
And they burn their own As they start burning, You're like,
what are they doing?

Speaker 3 (03:22):
They're like, oh, but it's not a harbor, so that
they so they're not they're not.

Speaker 1 (03:26):
Taking you in the harbor. They're taking you out in
the open sea.

Speaker 2 (03:31):
And this is even like for battles though, Yeah, like that.

Speaker 3 (03:34):
So they burn their they burned their ships as they're
jumping on to the other the other ship, because they.

Speaker 2 (03:42):
Basically seems stupid when you just keep bushees.

Speaker 1 (03:45):
They're basically saying, ain't no going back.

Speaker 2 (03:48):
I mean, why was it if you go on that
ship and you're like, this isn't actually good.

Speaker 3 (03:51):
But if you forgot something on that, I mean, what
if they end up like what if they're tougher than you? Like,
oh s, they are beating the s out of it.
I mean, but I guess they raised the stakes if
you didn't know y'all was coming like this, your r
is better than our art?

Speaker 1 (04:09):
Yeah, I feel like if you forgot your phone charger
and you need to go back now, you just screwed.
What are you gonna do out there?

Speaker 3 (04:16):
I don't know, man, maybe even your wench, you know
what I mean, if you forget her.

Speaker 1 (04:24):
You know Brady's point. If you've got an extra eye
patch that you really are are close with and it
really fits your facial model, you know, I'd like to
have that back.

Speaker 3 (04:34):
You know they over there though they did come, Yeah,
they they did come to. They showed up to the
stadium like they warmed up there here. That's the way
you always say, you don't they are over there.

Speaker 4 (04:45):
Imagine if you rolled up to an NFL stadium and
you just started just puncturing the tires in your bus.

Speaker 2 (04:51):
You're just like, what is he doing?

Speaker 1 (04:57):
If we got dang bus on fire?

Speaker 3 (04:59):
Showing up to that might be the cold most most
cold blooded as ever.

Speaker 4 (05:04):
You're taking back to your Penn State days, right because
you all saying you used to take the old blue one.

Speaker 2 (05:08):
Yeah, just lighting one of those things on fire.

Speaker 1 (05:12):
But they didn't like consume.

Speaker 3 (05:14):
It was just like for for effect that that would
be cold on.

Speaker 2 (05:18):
Give me what Joe Paul would say as he turns
around and looks, hey, hey, we're fire.

Speaker 1 (05:25):
Kick this.

Speaker 2 (05:28):
The bus, the bus, the buses off fire.

Speaker 1 (05:35):
We don't need no water. Let the bus bar. There
you go, Well we are Yeah, so there's U and
that'll wrap up our coverage of Lakers Warriors.

Speaker 4 (05:49):
I can't but was there any discrepancy in that free throws?

Speaker 1 (05:54):
Of course, come on, the LA still has eight ten
advantage from twenty twelve. Twenty to twelve, I believe was
the although they were perfect from the line and listen,
Golden State clearly there's an advantage there when it comes
to shooting free throws that's clearly been slanted towards the Lakers.

(06:16):
Fact of the matter is Anthony Davis dat up Steph
Curry late in that game. Steph Curry looked like he
had run out of options and answers because he wasn't
really getting a whole lot of help. Draymond Green had
a terrible turnover late in that game. Jordan Poole is
completely gone missing, Clay Thompson's not consistent anymore. Like there's
other things that are leading to Golden State being down here.

Speaker 4 (06:38):
They're missing a third piece, yes, like that Kevin Durant
piece they had. They're missing that they need something like
I mean would Yeah, I mean maybe he's kind of
more of a role player in some ways to me, Like,
I don't know that Wiggins has become what they thought
maybe he would become, or maybe the combination of Wigs

(07:00):
and pool and pools shooting in Wiggans kind of shot
making or play making ability. Like I just I feel
like they've kind of just been missing that other like
truly reliable, consistent other piece.

Speaker 2 (07:11):
Well that's a combination of players or just one superstar.

Speaker 1 (07:14):
But yeah, I agree with that their Their most productive
bench guy last night was Deebitcenzo, you know which I mean.

Speaker 2 (07:22):
I mean again, you give the guy a big bull
Aposta for the game. He's ready to go.

Speaker 1 (07:25):
How you know, there's a lot of reputable pasta places
in southern California. Mitchell's, I know, lead to laughs, A
big Michelli's guy, he could go to Michelli's and and
make it happen. They got singing waiters there. Uh so
there's all that fun stuff that goes. But Jordan's really good.
Jordan Poole didn't score last night, which is not ideal

(07:46):
for for somebody was making a lot of money and
got paid before the season, so like you just and
then Lonnie Edwards was the story to get this off season.

Speaker 2 (07:57):
That was this off season.

Speaker 3 (07:59):
Yeah, now y'all founding out. See, I mean Draymond knew
that he was going to bone them in Game four
of the playoffs, so he socked early. He got ahead
of the story, got ahead of it. Okay, that's good.
Now it all makes sense now today. That's like, why
did Draymond really socked Jordan Pool because he knew this

(08:19):
was going to happen.

Speaker 1 (08:20):
Yeah, he was. He was punished in advance. I'm socking
you for months. Can I get an advancement on that
Game four struggle? I have sure the problem and he
get cracked. But so the Lottie Edwards the fourth was
the story for the Lakers. He scored fifteen points in
the fourth quarter. He was crucial and look like the
Golden State Warriors were up three. Klay Thompson hit a

(08:43):
three from the corner there, and you felt like that
was like this was starting to veer in the direction
of and then it just goes back to what it's
been all year for Golden State. They're terrible on the road.
They won two games the first round against Sacramento. But
that's because Dearon yeah, Dearon Fox was banged up. The
guy had ad an injury. It was the should have
lost that series. Sacramento was a better team in that series.

(09:05):
They just I don't know, they let the dude. They
put the dude in that used to play for Golden
State from Duke what's his name? He boned him at
the end of the game. Why was he shooting the ball? Man,
I forget his name. He boned Sacramento in that game.
They shouldn't have had him in the game. What what
is it?

Speaker 3 (09:22):
Harrison Harrison, Harrison barn Harris from North Carolina, Carolina. Dude
is one of those Carolina school I don't know. Yeah,
he boned them, Like you never heard of that. You
never heard that as a football term, you boned?

Speaker 2 (09:37):
I mean, I have just got in this situation.

Speaker 1 (09:41):
Yeah, he boned them. I mean, yeah, that's very true. Berto.
I mean, that's probably exactly what it is too.

Speaker 4 (09:48):
That's what I'm more I'm thinking. I think of the
lines of Berto here.

Speaker 3 (09:51):
He shouldn't have shot. He shouldn't shot the ball at
the end of that game. The game was on the line.
Somebody better better equip should have been shooting.

Speaker 1 (09:57):
Roberto is octave in our ear mentioning that just now
was borderline creepy, like like got our ear.

Speaker 2 (10:06):
It was like, I actually found it soothing.

Speaker 1 (10:08):
Berto, Well, what's up right to check in on you
on door and break? Oh? Man, that that was soothing
to you?

Speaker 2 (10:20):
Yeah, he chimes in, and you're just like, oh, that
was nice.

Speaker 1 (10:24):
Thanks for I mean it was kind of raunchy. Can
I can I ask you guys, this is this not
fair to say the two most consistent teams in the
NBA playoffs thus far the most impressive teams have been
the Heat and the Lakers.

Speaker 3 (10:37):
I mean it has been the Heat. I don't know
about the Lakers. It's close, It's it's time. It could
you could debate.

Speaker 1 (10:45):
It like I look at it and I go what
the Lakers did to Memphis And I know there was
injuries there, but they clowned Memphis in that final game.
And what Miami has done to the Knicks, what they did,
I'm blown away by by Miami. And Miami's got injuries,
bless them. Debo's knee was destroyed. Tyler Heroes is still

(11:05):
in a cast, sitting on the bench, and they're just rolling, man, Like,
I think Miami and I think the Lakers have been
the most consistent teams.

Speaker 3 (11:14):
Stop disrespecting Miami me me personally, I have to stop
disrespecting it. I'm like, I don't understand they're like a
non factor team, but they are two of the teams.
I said, I felt like we're non factor teams. We're
going to be the Heat and the Lakers. Like if
they were able to get out of Round one, I
just didn't see them being able to advance too far
and too much.

Speaker 4 (11:35):
Further, suppose just a hell of a coach man he
does coach him and his staff that that organization is
one hell of an organization. They know what i'd build
a team. They know how to help those guys be competitive.
And there's a number of coaches you could kind of
throw in that category, but they're always in it. They're
always in the mix.

Speaker 1 (11:51):
Could we be getting a reenactment of what took place
Ovid and the Captain Eo Cup between the Yeah, the
Lakers in the Miami You know that half championship, lebron
one make it a fool champion championship. No, I'm just saying,
I mean, like, if we're going to base it on
who's looked the most impressive. Those teams will look the

(12:13):
most impressive. And I'm just wondering if we're going to
get a rematch here.

Speaker 3 (12:16):
I just don't see anybody coming. It has to me Boston, Philly,
whoever wins that series, that's who's coming out of the East.

Speaker 1 (12:24):
I don't think either one of those teams wants anything
to do with Miami or I mean, I don't.

Speaker 3 (12:30):
I just don't know that Miami has enough tools to
deal with one of those two teams.

Speaker 1 (12:35):
I would say right now, especially based on this discussion
that we've had, that either one of those teams gets
bowed by Miami right now.

Speaker 2 (12:46):
That's what I'm saying, you.

Speaker 1 (12:47):
Know, But I never felt weird about the words.

Speaker 3 (12:50):
Just made me feel I've heard that word since I
was playing Pee Wee League. But I guess I should be, like,
I should really be thinking about the way I use.

Speaker 4 (13:00):
Here's what you guys are saying, but you're not actually
saying good.

Speaker 2 (13:03):
You're just saying the Lakers are getting to the finals for.

Speaker 4 (13:06):
The West because you guys haven't give me a contender
out of the West.

Speaker 2 (13:11):
I'm talking about these.

Speaker 3 (13:12):
I think I think Phoenix is going to some way,
somehow pool through. I think they're going to get out
of this, this this Nuggets series, and they're going to
be the team. That's what I think. I don't know,
that's what I think.

Speaker 1 (13:28):
Yeah, I mean, Jokich is not getting suspended, which is
a stunnard twenty five thousand dollars.

Speaker 5 (13:36):
You know what?

Speaker 2 (13:37):
Why why is he being fought that? Nothing?

Speaker 5 (13:41):
This?

Speaker 2 (13:41):
What did touch him? First?

Speaker 4 (13:43):
I'm just saying from the standpoint of that, when you're
a fan, you put your hands on a player, you're
kind of subjecting yourself to whatever comes next.

Speaker 3 (13:51):
So if he had just four arms shivered him right
across the face, I mean he was subjected to that. Yeah, yeah,
until you get it done. Yeah, got his money's where Yeah,
got to lay the lumber a little bit there.

Speaker 1 (14:05):
So but hey, the Lakers look impressive and they play defense,
which is nice to see. In today's NBA.

Speaker 3 (14:10):
You're starting to see their size. It's showing like they're
just too big for the teams they're playing against, like
they're just out outsizing people.

Speaker 1 (14:21):
You see when Golden State gets inside, they just immediately
look around and go all right, how can we get
this out of here, is there anybody open? And yeah,
let's just go it. Like Draymond Green looks tiny.

Speaker 3 (14:31):
I wasn't really paying attention to how physically imposing the
Lakers are. But they're some big mammajamas. They're pretty tall,
So there you have that. Yeah, and they was ding
up like you said, I mean, they weren't. They were
contesting shots, they weren't making easy on them. And just
to see the way they're playing, I mean, god, bless

(14:51):
like I've been a detractor. I could almost even be
considered a hater of the Lakers. But you know, give
respect where respect? Do they really have made a playoff
of this? They're they're definitely making a run of it.

Speaker 2 (15:05):
How's Berto feeling about this? We know he got his
he got.

Speaker 1 (15:07):
His jersey on, he's got a sidel three throwback.

Speaker 3 (15:11):
Chamberlain, Baby, Yeah, what does that mean?

Speaker 1 (15:15):
Well Chamberlain, what do you mean?

Speaker 3 (15:16):
What what is that? What exactly does that mean? Why
did you said the boat? That makes it relevant? Now?
That makes it relevant? Berto, thank you for bringing a
full circle.

Speaker 1 (15:29):
By the way, Eddie, Eddie just has a smile and
just keep shaking his hands. Immediately, Berto went when the
subject of will Chamberlain got brought up. That's uh, so
there it.

Speaker 3 (15:39):
Is, well, Wilton Bone, definitely it's synonymous. Okay, So there
it is.

Speaker 1 (15:48):
That is your coverage of the NBA Playoffs here at our.

Speaker 6 (15:51):
One of there it is, and we on Two Pros
and a Cup of Joe is brought to you by
tire Rack.

Speaker 1 (16:09):
And coming up next, we transition over to an NFL story,
a story where somebody in the league holding a lot
of power is trying to convince you that a reality
isn't as such. In fact, they may have even lied
to you. Find out who that is next here on
Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 5 (16:32):
Be sure to catch live editions of Two Pros and
a Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn, LeVar Errington, and
Jonas Knox weekdays at six am Eastern, three am Pacific
on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 1 (16:46):
Two Pros and a Cup of Joe Fox Sports Radio,
LaVar Arrington, Brady Quinn, Jonas Knox of the Year coming
up in we'll call it about twenty minutes from now
here on FSR. A bad situation all the way around
in the world of sports. We will have the details
for you here coming up.

Speaker 3 (17:02):
Do you say when I came out of the locker room.
So what they said, just a bad situation, situation coming
on to the field, right, Yeah.

Speaker 1 (17:09):
I don't think you want this kind of bad situation. Oh,
this one's not ideal for anybody involved. But we will
have that for you here coming up in about twenty
minutes from now from the tairaq dot com studios. So
there's been some speculation that maybe the Houston Texans didn't
really fully know what they wanted to do. Just a
couple hours before the draft, there was a story out

(17:30):
that they were kind of conflicted as to which way
to go. And then obviously they took CJ. Stroud number
two overall, and then they went ahead and they took
Will Anderson after trading up a boat load to go
ahead and make that happen. And so both those guys
are now sitting there with the Houston Texans, and you
would feel like, all right, everybody's on the same page,

(17:51):
everybody's on the up and up, we're all excited about
all this. Unfortunately, Cal McNair, the owner of the Houston Texans,
was speaking at the Texans Charity Golf Classic and tried
to explain that he had nothing to do and was
not involved with the decisions made near the top of
the draft. Here was the Texans owner.

Speaker 7 (18:11):
Hannah and I do not make the draft picks, so
we'll be clear there. But we have a great group
of scouts and led by Nick and James Lipford, and
they did a lot of work on the draft board
and then they followed that on draft day and they
moved up when they saw the value was there and
moved back, you know. And so it's a lot of
fun to be in there. I wish everyone could be

(18:31):
in there. There's a lot of excitement, but the right
it was fun. It was a fun day and we
felt really good about it.

Speaker 1 (18:37):
All right. So who's believing cal McNair that they had
nothing to do with the movement at the top of
the draft, because I don't.

Speaker 4 (18:44):
I mean, if you address it, are you giving more
like credence to what's being said? Yes, I mean, And
because I also feel like there wasn't that much discussion. Maybe,
you know, because we're not in the Houston market, we're
not as aware of some of the whisperers that maybe
became a little louder voices in regards to what they did.

(19:05):
I would think if you come with those two picks,
you would generally be really really excited about it, and
you wouldn't need to address any of this. It would
just be like, dude, I can't believe this happened. We
got two of the best players in the draft. But
just the fact that he feels it's necessary to come
out and address this, I mean, I guess there must

(19:26):
have been some whispers that were a lot, you know,
louder than maybe I'm realizing at this point. I didn't
think this was a huge storyline, even.

Speaker 2 (19:34):
Though I did it.

Speaker 4 (19:35):
I did hear that he was you know, that wasn't
something that was like necessarily a secret.

Speaker 2 (19:40):
I mean, there's some people who.

Speaker 4 (19:41):
Thought ownership was involved, which, by the way, it's not
unlikely that an owner is not involved in a pick
that high in the draft, and especially one that's going
to involve potentially your franchise quarterback, and on top of that,
a trade that's going to go up and get a
foundational piece in an edge rusher like well Anderson, like
that whole strategy because it could reshape your organization. Yeah,

(20:06):
your owner might be involved in that decision or might
be there for the discussion and everything that ensues. I mean,
owners go out to some of these pro days. I
remember Randy Lerner flying in his family when he came
from Cleveland to come see mine. That's not uncommon, that happens,
actually quite frequently. There was ownerships, you know, for owners
who showed up it at other pro days this year. So,

(20:28):
I mean, I'm just surprised he felt the need to
address it because I didn't think it was that big
of a story.

Speaker 3 (20:33):
I mean I kind of interpreted as just, you know, excitement.
They they're filling a level of excitement. I mean again,
last time you had a two to three overall back
to back in the draft was in two thousand.

Speaker 1 (20:46):
Who is that? Yeah? You know who was who was
in Washington?

Speaker 2 (20:49):
Yeah? Who got selected that? Yeah?

Speaker 3 (20:54):
Yeah, Well that didn't work out very well though. I
Mean we did go to a lot of Pro Bowls though,
the two of me and Chris Samuels.

Speaker 2 (21:01):
We did.

Speaker 1 (21:02):
We did do our part trace Pro Bowls. You're not
gonna hit the button, berdo. You're not gonna do you
know anyway? You know, I think I think.

Speaker 3 (21:18):
You just got to look at it from the standpoint
of that has to be generating a lot of excitement.
You got a quarterback that can be a franchise guy.
You're dealing with all of the fallout of everything that
has taken place. I mean, this name one organization that
has gone through more than what Houston has gone through

(21:39):
over the last three years, you know. And so if
if I'm Nicknaire, I'm looking at it like, man, maybe
this is that turning point for us and what we
got going on and and oh my gosh, and and
so when you think about what what that type of
pivot could possibly mean or be represented in this moment

(22:02):
in time, it could be a historical moment. I mean,
you know, it was me and Joe Green in Pittsburgh,
Like they got him. They didn't know that it would
transform an entire city into taking on a personality that
would never ever dissipate and go away. But every once

(22:23):
in a while you get those types of drafts where
you bring in those type of guys and they change things,
and I almost feel like he's kind of taking the
focus off of him, like all right, Like no, it
wasn't us, Like give the credit to these guys who
put the work in to figure out how to maneuver
enough where I mean, if you think about it, people

(22:45):
going into the draft did not even think that CJ.
Stroud might be the second quarterback taken in the draft.
So there was enough subterfuge, there was enough deception, enough,
you know, kind of the way they postured where you
didn't even know they were going to even take CJ. Stroud,
and then on top of that to move and position

(23:07):
to take the very next pick at three and bring
in the best pass rusher in the draft. I just
think that it was a tremendous win for Houston and
they're probably really excited, like super excited about what took
place and what happened in that moment.

Speaker 1 (23:23):
So you had two coaches go one and done. You've
had changes in the front office. There was that rumor
that was out there that Nick Cassario was going to
be leaving, and then he was pissed about it and
spoke about it before the draft. You've had all sorts
of stuff happen with the Houston.

Speaker 2 (23:39):
Texan woofool Wall Street rant.

Speaker 1 (23:41):
You had Cal McNair on the sideline for that finale
last year that Houston won and he was visibly upset.
And yet he's going to come out and expect everybody
to believe him when he says, oh, we had nothing
to do with those picks. I mean we were in
the room and we were on the sideline for the finale,
hoping we lost a game and everything else that came
along with the organization and the two one and done

(24:03):
coaches we've had, But we had nothing to do whatever
with this pick. And there was the other report that
two hours before they had no idea which direction they
were going to go. I just don't believe him. I
think they feel like there's he was. They were conflicted,
and if we all point to it starts at the top, well,
if it starts at the top, you go straight to

(24:23):
the top. With cal McNair and the idea that he
had just nothing to do with those picks or the
direction of the organization over the past several months, in the
past couple of years, I just don't buy it for
a second. I don't think that's the case. They look
like an organization that if we're going to go straight
to the top, and you look at everything that's gone
on with the Deshaun Watson stuff and all the other

(24:45):
things Jack Easterbee and his departure that took place recently.
Bill O'Brien, all of that stuff, it all traces back
to cal McNair. But all of a sudden, a move
like this and the reports and situation that took place
this offseason. Now his handprints and it was his fingerprints
aren't on Rather, I just don't buy it for a second.
I don't think he's telling the truth.

Speaker 4 (25:04):
I mean, the human side of it is this is
again as I said before, it's it's kind of one
of those It could be a monumental draft for them
in this moment in time to maximize the draft capital
they had and turn this thing around and get back
to winning AFC South Division titles, get back to the playoffs,
try to make a run to get to the super Bowl.

(25:24):
I mean, this opportunity doesn't come around very often, and
so you could you could understand if he was hesitant
or he wasn't very sure of what the plan was
or what he wants his organization to do. I mean,
I think he understands how important the picks were and
what this could mean for them. So look human nature

(25:46):
like it's all right if that was the case, I mean,
I don't know. I think we act like the more information,
the more data, everything else that that this, you know,
the scouts are bringing in, or the general manager and
the coaching staff. Sometimes we feel like it makes the
decision easier to take a player. I mean, I don't
know about you guys. Sometimes it's hard to make a
decision when you've got all this information. You're like, well,

(26:07):
I don't know what's direction to go.

Speaker 1 (26:08):
Yeah, I want less options make the decision for me.

Speaker 2 (26:12):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (26:13):
I mean it's funny like there's there's a lot of
surveys that are taken and the conclusion is that people actually,
as much as they like freedom, they don't like as
many options as people think.

Speaker 1 (26:30):
It's the big menu like cheesecake factors for example, it
can be overwhelming to people.

Speaker 4 (26:37):
Then you go to a restaurant like a PDQ, which
is just chicken fingers, right, like that's all it is,
or raisin canes, just chicken fingers, and those have been
popping up left.

Speaker 2 (26:48):
And right, and people are like, oh, it's because the
chicken stuggad. No, it's not.

Speaker 4 (26:51):
It's because you go there knowing exactly what you're going
to get or a small variation of that, because that's
all they offer. That that's all that's there. You show
up at Raising Kanes. That's all that's there. There's not
many options as compared to other places. Chick fil A
kind of falls that category, right, and and like that's okay,
there's nothing wrong with that.

Speaker 2 (27:12):
It's it could be a very successful business.

Speaker 4 (27:13):
So, you know, I just I think there's times when
you get so much information. You usually don't have two
first round draft picks. They had that this year. You know,
usually have one, and you feel like it's monumental making
that decision alone. And then when you have too, it's like, man,
there's a lot going on in what we could do
and how we could maneuver, and maybe we just stay put,
or maybe we trade back, or maybe we trade up,

(27:33):
Like there's so many different things you could do.

Speaker 2 (27:36):
I think it's okay.

Speaker 4 (27:37):
If they didn't know, you know, like it's like they
ended up making moves that to me won the first
round of the draft, and now give them a shot
to truly compete and turn this thing around.

Speaker 2 (27:48):
And if they didn't know two hours before, who cares?

Speaker 4 (27:51):
Because if they're always sticking up at Lombardi two, three,
four years from now, they're not gonna look bad going. Remember,
we didn't know what the hell we were doing like
one hundred and twenty minutes before the draft. Well this
turned out well. I mean, do you think the New
England Patriots went into the draft where they took Tom
Brady and they were sitting there saying, hey, guys, we're
gonna pass on him again in the sixth round five times,
but the second pick when we take him, that's what

(28:13):
we're making our move to the super Bowl.

Speaker 2 (28:15):
Yes, all right, Oh that's how we're doing it, fellas.

Speaker 1 (28:18):
Yeah, listen, I mean, we're all about transparency here on
this show, and so that's why we always tell you, like,
at least be real, don't be artificial, Like whatever you do,
that's all because we're we're not into that. So so
cal McNair just tell you.

Speaker 2 (28:30):
Grab a pen and write that down.

Speaker 1 (28:32):
By the way, God say, how about you.

Speaker 2 (28:33):
Grab a pen and write that down.

Speaker 3 (28:35):
Write this down? Huh oh, right right down. Pennington dot
Com slash flip the turf now to learn more. Right,
you know what artificial turf fields they cost thirty two
percent more non contact knee injuries. American grass sea company
Pennington is on a mission to ban those turf fields
with their hashtag flip the Turf movement. So, like I said,

(28:57):
go visit Pennington dot com slash flip the turf now
learn more about it. Signed a petition for the teams
to hashtag flip the turf to real grass I'm talking about.

Speaker 1 (29:09):
Right, two pros and a cup of Joe here on
f s R. By the way, Brady, you brought this up.
I had no idea what PDQ was, and I looked
it up. A lot of locations display of Quinn, Yeah,
public display of Quinn, yes, yeah, all right, just depends

(29:31):
on your point of view that I guess. So I
had no idea PDQ. That's a in in the south
on the East coast. What a lot of locations A
good place PDQ They great spot spot.

Speaker 2 (29:50):
I mean, it's why they're so prevalent everywhere.

Speaker 4 (29:53):
Yeah, I mean, well, I mean, yeah, you can't speak
for the for the West coast. Yeah, but no, it's
it's it's why I think you see raising canes and
PDQ and a lot.

Speaker 2 (30:04):
Of things like that have have kind of raised up.

Speaker 4 (30:07):
But yeah, again, it's the idea of choice. Like I
always find it interesting when you bought a Southwest flight
because you get to pick your seat, you know, you
get to pick your seat, but they think about how
they bored you like you you it's a cattle call.
They literally put you in stalls and then they shove
you on the plane. But they're like, now you get
to go wherever you want. All right, go go go on, now.

Speaker 8 (30:30):
Go on, get limp seats, pick which ever want, Come on,
now get I've.

Speaker 1 (30:40):
Done told you group forty one through fifty eight.

Speaker 4 (30:43):

In case you missed this yesterday, West Virginia basketball coach
Bob Huggins is in some hot watery Brady and has
issued a public apology after making an appearance on w
l W and Cincinnati where he was asked about the
rivalry between his old team Cincinnati and Xavier.

Speaker 1 (33:31):
In the interview, he.

Speaker 10 (33:32):
Uh he used some some slurs there bleeped in this audio.

Speaker 2 (33:36):
Take a listen.

Speaker 1 (33:38):
Steve also tells me that you have the best portal transfers.

Speaker 10 (33:43):
Have you Have you poached any savior guys to come
to sight for West Virginia.

Speaker 1 (33:48):
Catholics don't do that. We're above the Francis, aren't we.

Speaker 2 (33:55):
Absolutely? I mean, I'll tell you what.

Speaker 3 (33:57):
Any any school that can throw rubber penises on the
floor and didn't say they didn't do it?

Speaker 2 (34:02):
I got daking it away with anything.

Speaker 1 (34:05):
Rubber pete. Was this thing that was it's a crosstown shootout?

Speaker 10 (34:09):
Well then it was transgender night, wasn't it was that
it was.

Speaker 2 (34:12):
A crossdown shootout?

Speaker 5 (34:13):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (34:14):
No, what it was was all those all right. They
were very envious. They didn't have one.

Speaker 1 (34:26):
Stay your comments about Bob Huggins, Is he the best?
He's he's the best.

Speaker 2 (34:33):
Picked my base?

Speaker 1 (34:35):
Uh the floor not a good look for Bob Huggins.

Speaker 10 (34:39):
He has issued a public apology to Xavier, West Virginia
and Cincinnati.

Speaker 2 (34:44):
Yikes.

Speaker 1 (34:45):
By the way, the music in the background thrown him bows, Yeah,
he but thrown him bows while he was saying that
might might indicate maybe, uh, maybe there was some other stuff.

Speaker 2 (34:57):
Oh he was getting it in whatever he where.

Speaker 1 (35:01):
Jesus was that some day club? That's uh club?

Speaker 2 (35:06):
Nightclub and morn Yeah.

Speaker 1 (35:10):
The Kevin Pittston You ever hung out Morgantown.

Speaker 2 (35:14):
They go hard, doubt that hard.

Speaker 1 (35:22):
Party man.

Speaker 3 (35:22):
They roll in the mud all God, they get down
and dirty for real. Yes, that's not and that's not
an over exaggeration. And I ain't going down the road
Bobby Huggins just did. That's there.

Speaker 1 (35:37):
I can't imagine that he's brought back to coach at
West Virginia after that. I can't.

Speaker 3 (35:45):
I mean a lot of people have been what they
call publicly crucified for doing much less of saying much
less than this.

Speaker 1 (35:54):
But you know, so I talked with somebody who's kind
of in and around the area. And remember Tom Brenneman,
who was the Reds announcer who made the comment. He
made a homophobic slur on the air and got caught,
he lost his job. Bob Huggins brought Tom Brenneman in
last year or the year before to talk with his

(36:15):
team about the incident so they could all learn from
it together. And apparently Bob Huggins might might have stepped
out for a minute during that Tom Brenneman visit. Because
he him go in that direction in that interview. I
can't even explain it. I mean, he just had a
LeVar Island moment, that's all. I was having a LeVar
Island moment on Saturday, Thank goodness. It was just on

(36:37):
my own cell phone.

Speaker 3 (36:39):
Yeah, I don't think he said that though I was
pretty bad. I was pretty bad this Saturday. No, I
didn't go down that last Yeah. I didn't go down.
But what I'm saying is at least have it. Oh
my gosh. What I'm saying is he definitely was under
the influence that I mean, I don't think that there's
anything I think that's up for debate that one right there.

Speaker 2 (37:02):
Man.

Speaker 1 (37:03):
Yeah, and by the way, I'm not roping myself into
any type of behavior that was exhibited.

Speaker 3 (37:08):
But Bobby Huggets, I'm just saying I did have an
emotional moment on Saturday after I sent yall my third
LeVar Island, I had an emotional moment.

Speaker 1 (37:19):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (37:19):
Yeah, there's a lot of alcohol in them drinks.

Speaker 2 (37:23):
I don't have anything. Really Yeah.

Speaker 1 (37:25):
We wait, yeah, lead that one. Yeah, we wait and
wait and see how this plays out.

Speaker 2 (37:29):
Really real quickly.

Speaker 10 (37:30):
You guys, Iowa and Iowa State are also under fire,
uh spending twenty six current student athletes from sports all
across the spectrum for alleged sports wagering at Iowa and Iowa,
twenty six at Iowa and fifteen at Iowa State.

Speaker 1 (37:46):
Was it on the Syhawk Bowl? Did they bet on
the you know?

Speaker 2 (37:49):
Was that?

Speaker 1 (37:50):
Was that happening or what? What are we looking at here?

Speaker 10 (37:53):
Number of sports across the across the spectrum love.

Speaker 2 (37:56):
Their gambling and island of course field of dreams.

Speaker 1 (37:59):
Yeah, I'm going to go to the break.
