stream us live every day on the I Heart Radio
app by searching f s R. You're listening to Fox
Sports Radio. Oh, let's go, stinking genius. Good morning Sunsha,
you're a little tired. They're good morning Sunshine. No, I
have COVID. Oh do you really? Yes, I have COVID nineteen.

(00:43):
So I'm I'm fine. I know that sounds terrible to say,
but you're working through and look at you. Well, yeah,
because number one, I'm fine. I just I'm a little
like by let's say the bottom of this hour, all
the juices and all the coffee will kick again. But yeah,
I mean, it was one of those things where I'm

(01:04):
not uh, I'm vexed, right, And I was supposed to
fix everything, and um, I guess somehow, some way I
started feeling a little bit off, and my son was
wanting to come down. He's getting ready to go to
um college. He's gonna go to the Army. He's gonna

(01:24):
go to my my blanking on where uh the army is?
But West Point, thank you? And I was like, you
know what, let me just take this test to be safe.
So last night before I went to bed, I did
and boom popped positive Artie. But I'm not letting it
stop me from doing this show. In fact, I'm right
here at the studio talking right next to Raider Rob.

(01:46):
I'm just I'm standing in Eddie Garcia studio. We're gonna
make sure that this is a family event, gentlemen. Let's
go battling through it. Man. And I ended up staying
up really late to last night because I've got a problem. Yes,
let's make this about you real quick. I I don't
know how anyone can give credit to Draymond Green for

(02:07):
anything in that game last night. I mean, Arnie, he
tried to do everything he could to get a technical
late and blow that game for the Warriors. I guess
I don't understand it. And then he's doing all the
post game interviews on ESPN and he's talking about feeling
him sound like you fouled out three games. You by
by absolute no way should anyone be saying, ott a boy,

(02:31):
Draymond Green. I mean, let walking back to the huddle
in a game, that's I mean, it's you're in control.
The only thing that can screw it up is if
you get a technical in that situation and you're walking
back into the huddle trying to get the basketball back
for no reason. You're throwing a fit whenever you have
a foul called on you when you fouled Uh, Marcus Smart,

(02:51):
I mean, I just my my head exploded whenever I
saw the way that's played out. Yeah, you know, I
knew obviously we'd be talking about a lot about the
game and Draymond Cream. My first my first reaction was, well,
he played better. You know, he was better out there.
It wasn't like he played a great game or do
you think, I mean he was serviceable? He he he
had most of his points, all right, all those points

(03:12):
I think in the first half, and I still grab
eight rebounds is usually a double digit guy. But the
one thing you're absolutely correct on, um is that he's
trying to pick up a technical foul. What are you doing?
You got the lead, it's the fourth quarter, it's late
in the game. Um, the last thing you really need
to do is pick up a technical foul with the
team is shooting foul shots getting the ball out of bounds,
and in Game five of the NBA Finals, and and

(03:34):
by the way, yeah it's mostly his fault, but I
gotta blame a lot on the coaching Stephen and my
buddy Steve, Oh, Steve, Steve's got to take him over
and say, what are you doing? Or Bruce Fraser, one
of those guys, said what are you doing? Man? You
gotta go ahead and keep your head in this situation.
We just want to win this game and get the
hell out of here and get ready to win an
NBA championship. So just relax, calm down, why you're getting upset,

(03:55):
will review the thig. If there was no foul, you'll
get the call. But what was it like a ted
point leading up at that point, I'm I'm not even sure.
I go what do you that the quickest way to
go from a tedpoint lead down the five is to
pick up a technical foul. I'm not sure what he
was thinking at that point. This game though, to me,
regardless of the attempts by Draymond Green to pick up
a technical and make it close late in the game,

(04:17):
it was pretty much done whenever Clay Thompson doesn't get
called for the push off, and then literally the next
trip down the court, Marcus Smart does get called for
the push off. I was cracking up because somehow either
there's been a lot of Golden State Warrior fans who
have returned this season or I followed a lot of
them on Twitter, because my favorite part was the great

(04:38):
job by the officials not calling that flop whenever Marcus
Smart didn't get whistled for it, but then whenever it
was a Jordan Pool, whenever a Pool gets gets the
calls like, oh, that's just that's a good call in
that situation, Like what what do you mean that's a
good call in that situation. That was a clear and
obvious flop. But in all of this, like I don't know,

(04:59):
frustration and I have with kind of the way the
game was painted. If you're Boston and Steph Curry doesn't
make a three and Clay Thompson doesn't go off and
you still lose by double digits, I mean, look, you
had a chance to steal it. It's you had a
two point lead almost going into the fourth quarter until
Pool it's that crazy three pointer. That's even the suck

(05:21):
a little of the air out of the sales that one.
But it shouldn't. I mean, it's a one point game,
fourth quarter, two games to two, you're on the road. Um,
you were getting you know, handed to you in the
in the first quarter you got I mean if I
would have told you game pretty much tied. Fourth quarter, Um,
you got the whole fourth quarter, You'll say, I'll take it.
If you're Boston, let's do it. Uh, this was one

(05:41):
for them to steal the You know, the NBA Championship
was on the line of that fourth quarter. Whoever wins
that fourth quarter wins Game five and probably goes on
to win the championship. Boston had it in their grasp.
Give and I know it's not over, but give Golden
State a lot of credit. They went and they went ahead,
played better in the fourth. I think what the Celtics
had a few turnovers. Uh, are you sure they can

(06:03):
come back win Game six at home? And then it's
a toss up for Game seven? But I like Golden
States chances right now, no doubt about that. So you've
you flip flopped your pick. Now now you're going my
original pick. And see they don't people that listen to
us in the morning right now fill it in. They
don't know who I picked Sunday night. So for all
they know that my original pick, my original pick was
Golden State in five. Um, they're probably gonna end up

(06:26):
doing it in six. I can see them winning in Boston,
but I would love to have a game seven and
have them winning at home. Yeah, I think Actually, if
you go back, your original pick was Boston to beat
Golden State. But was it You changed so much you
flip flop quite a bit on this one. But yeah, no,
I um, I'm with you on that. Last night you

(06:47):
had an opportunity. If you're if I'm a Boston fan
this morning, I'm right over a couple of things. I
don't think you can be mad at the officiating. I'm
gonna say, I hope it's not the officiating. Yeah, no,
I don't think you can be because it was bad
all the way across board. In fact, at some point,
and I don't know how we need to have a
conversation about where postseason officiating has been in the NBA.

(07:08):
I mean, heck, DDY could probably make a case for
how bad it's been in the Stanley Cup. Yeah, you look.
I mean, even if you want to go back into
the NFL, it's just we have an officiating problem in sports, right,
I was gonna say, and just jumping in here, you know,
since you're bringing up I gotta think it was probably
one of the better officiated games in this series. If
I would have told you the Celtics you're gonna go
to the line thirty one times compared the Golden States

(07:28):
fifteen and you're on the road, You'll where do I
sign up for that? On the time? Chris, Yeah, And
if I would have been able to finish my point,
I was gonna say, through all of that, last night
was actually an okay game when it comes to the
way that it was called. I still think they let
Draymond Green get away with too much. I think they
let Marks Smart get away with too much. But there
is that side of me that likes to see the

(07:50):
personality come out. Now, that's a difference between being um
a clown and being a difference maker. Whenever you're getting
after the officials, and I thought bo walk that thin
line last night. But if I'm a Celtics fan this morning,
I wake up lamenting ten missed free throws. Now you're
not gonna go thirty one for thirty one, But it

(08:10):
just seem Arnie, in most situations, those missed free throws
came at moments where they could have desperately used a
bucket to try to stim a tide. And what Jason
Kanum had a couple of it, he missed. He went
over two at one point, whenever they really needed a bucket.
So to see how bad they were from the free
throw line, that's that's got. If I'm a Celtic fan

(08:32):
this morning, I am absolutely shaking my head. Yeah, you know,
you look at that. You say sometimes you live or
die by the three pointer. You could live and die
by that free throw percentage out there, sixty seven percent um. Again,
you're on the road, it's a close game in the
fourth quarter, you gotta nail those free throws down. That
he was two of six or two of eight or
something like that. He was. He was just miserable, I mean,

(08:53):
but then again, you got to overcome that. If I
you know, it all works out because Steph Curry did
have a three pointer. He was miserable out there. I mean,
my goodness, man, I never thought that was a long
streak that came to an end. That's a big story.
But if Steph Curry doesn't have a three pointer, you
out shoot them from the foul line, get ten or

(09:13):
sixteen more of foul attempts. UM on the foul line
on the road in a close game, you have to
feel good about yourself. They're kicking them, your entreprene right there,
they're kicking them right now. That the the NBA Championship
to slip through their finger. Yeah, the status. This a
hundred and thirty three playoff games, and it's the first
playoff game in which he did not make a three.

(09:34):
UM best probably three point shooter in the history of
the game with oh for nine on threes. First playoff
game without a three pointer. UM. I don't want to
go in the weeds as deep to say, hey, last
night was not about what Golden State did. It's about
what Boston didn't do. But it is about missed opportunities
for the Celtics. This morning, I'm a Celtics fan. I

(09:56):
am hot waking up this morning because I don't know
how many times are to be able to say it. Um,
I don't know how many different ways I'm gonna be
able to frame it. But it was a missed opportunity.
You missed an opportunity to seize control of this series
after a dominating third quarter and you absolutely wet down
your leg in the fourth quarter and we can put it.
I was saying, as you mentioned earlier, we had a

(10:17):
Clay Thompson deciding too. You know, twenty one is good,
He's capable put up thirty plus. But the five three
pointers he was stroking it well, they needed every one
of those since Steph didn't hit any. Pool out a
pretty good game, but you know, not a lot of points,
but shut the ball. You know, I hit a couple
of three pointers. I think like three of them. Um,
that's what they needed. It was. It wasn't a great
shooting night, but it was enough to get the Warriors

(10:38):
that win. That's all they care about right now. Yeah, exactly.
And you mentioned not a great shooting night. As a team,
they were nine of forty from beyond the three point line.
And it's kind of funny because listen, Clay Thompson had
twenty one points. Uh he was five of eleven from
beyond the three point line. But it's likely expect game
six Clay every single game out, so he wasn't as

(10:58):
terrible as some people are making it out to be.
But outside of Clay Thompson, the other four starters for
the Golden State Warriors and somehow Jamond Green took to
three pointers last night, but they were uh nine fifteen.
They were over nineteen from beyond the three point line.
I mean literally, their bench was four for nine from

(11:19):
beyond the three point line. Clay Thompson was five for eleven.
The rest of their starters were over nineteen from beyond
the three point line. So you get that. As an opponent,
you gotta win that game serious, you have to. You
have to feel good about your chances at that point.
I wonder who America's pulling for. Are they jumping on
the Celtic bandwagon hoping it goes seven games and and

(11:40):
they pull it out. I think Golden States kind of
like America's team in the NBA, now that the Lakers
are no good and and you know, nobody really cares
about the Nicks. I kind of think of the America
America's team is Golden State Warriors and a lot of
people jumping on that bandwagon. I wanted to see them
finish this thing off. It's Arnie and Planks sitting in

We got much much more coming up from NBA Finals
Game six, last our game five last night, got postgame audio,

(12:23):
got a couple of highlights to hit your boy Stevo
talking post game and I guess you know this threat
of oh Steph was off tonight. Lookout for what's gonna
happen in game six. Also, Celtics fan, where are you
this morning? Where is your mindset? Do you now suddenly
realize our Thank gosh, we gotta go out and get
another star to pair with these guys, or do you

(12:44):
look at it as hey, you know, missed opportunity, but
it was still a road game. We get him back
home for six. Let's get this win and force a
game seven where anything is possible. Hit us up on
Twitter at Stinkingenius one. I'm at Plank Show and everybody
should be following us at Fox Sports Radio. But Arnie,
before we hit the break, I did want to bring
up one other story that just I don't understand why

(13:07):
it's still going on. And maybe we bring it up
here and it's the only time we talked about it today.
Maybe something breaks during the show. I don't know, But
why does it seem like every single time more news
breaks on the DeShawn Watson situation, the NFL gets quieter
and quieter. Why is it that, instead of at the
very least an indefinite suspension, why is it every We're

(13:30):
up to sixty six according to a New York Times report.
Granted there aren't sixty six civil cases, but sixty six
claims of of improper I guess you could say actions
the best way to put it right. I'm not gonna
say that there's all crimes committed, but it's problematic. Why
is the NFL dragging its feet now? Real quick? Alright?

(13:52):
Someone bringing the point last night here on Fox Sports Radio.
Maybe we should look at this as a good thing
the NFL is doing. It's due diligence. They're not getting
caught up in the UH in the selacial reports. They're
really digging into it. Maybe we should be fair to
the NFL. But it just seems as if, I mean,
silence is incredibly noticeable right now from the NFL. Aren't

(14:16):
in this whole saga because nothing is happening, it seems Chris,
I I see it the other way. I think the NFL.
If the NFL was going to suspend and they kind
of feeling what they're going to do, they just said,
you know, havn't have made anything officially yet. Um, if
they were going to suspend them for a long time,
they'd come out or be outrage and we can't allow this.
This behavior is unacceptable. But they're keeping quiet because I

(14:38):
think they know that they're not going to give him
in a harsh punishment, so they're just trying to hope
that all this kind of goes away. And um, you know,
everybody doesn't talk about it, but I still think it's
gonna be a six game suspension and with an appeal,
it will get down the three games. I've seen people
say he's gonna be gone for a year or two.
I think that's insane, because if the NFL is really

(14:58):
good to get him, they'd come out with rage. You're right,
the silence. You should look at that and saying that
the NFL maybe they're doing their due diligence, or maybe
they're just like, hey, let's just have this whole thing
go away. This is a bad thing right now. For
the entire crew is in this morning well, I mean
outside of legal app Ricky is helping us out. Uh

details of that. We've got We've got more more NFL
camp news because everyone that was supposed to hold out

(15:42):
has been showing up for Camp Sands one. But again,
the big story of the morning game five last night,
pulling away from the Celtics in the fourth court. It
was all the Golden State Warriors. Well at the postgame

(16:49):
Pros and a Cup of Joe, Jonas Knox, LaVar Arrington
and a chorus Brady Quinn. So, how'd you take in
the game last night? Having to be up so late?
I mean that's way past your beds. Yeah, it is
way way past my bedtime. I'm glad I got like
a six hour nap in during the during the day.
I really don't do anything during the days. I just
kind of nap all they get up. I don't know

(17:11):
if six hours is considered a nap, aren't I think
that's I don't know. Do we have ranges that we
would consider? You know, it would be a pro in
this Eddie Garcia, Roberto who Ricky They constantly worked the
graveyard shift. Right, it's the worst, Roberto. If you're talking
six hours, that's not a quote unquote nap, that's like

(17:32):
a night of sleep. Right, Yeah, that's great right there.
I would what do you do during the day? What
do I do during today? Yeah? Well today I have
a basketball game, so I'll get ready for that. We're
in the semifinals, big game there. You can watch it
on Facebook at the Revolution Basketball So so I'll tune
on in tonight at uh five o'clock Eastern. I know

(17:53):
that's gonna be must must watch. Do you have to
start stretching now to get ready for it? A couple
of days ago, A couple of days are you worried
about potentially catching COVID? For me, seeing that I'm isolated
in the studio in Goldsby, Oklahoma, though we're still thousands
of miles away. Do you feel like you need to
get tested before the game? No, I feel bad for you, man.

(18:13):
I didn't know you were I could tell you a
little bit under the weather you were tired or something
like that, but you're a trooper. You're hanging in there. Here.
Here's the funny thing. This is a true story. I'm
not tired at all. I did the same thing you did,
only it wasn't a six hour nap, and only my
body is like, dude, you're taking an app. Uh So
I don't know if you want to consider it an
app or COVID knocking me out, But I got like

(18:34):
a good hour and a half an APP yesterday, and
that's that's to me. It's like the Golden hour when
you have to get up early because I knew we'd
be a plate and I know what the West Coasters,
the Pacific time zone people don't want to hear it,
but it's a little bit ridiculous when you're tipping off
a game at nine o'clock Eastern time. I mean, I'm
just I'm sorry. There's no other way around. It wouldn't

(18:56):
you say it's kind of ridiculous to have a five
o'clar you know, five o'clock. Few want to move it
earlier at five o'clock West coast time though, I mean
kind of like the same thing. Yeah, that that's that,
that's the difference there. I want to see the numbers
that say starting at nine o'clock is better for the
ratings than starting at eight o'clock Eastern, because you want
to get those West coast cities. And I would think
there's more cities on you know, east of the Mississippi

(19:17):
Mississippi that are they're bigger for ratings in West. But well,
I guess not, you know, I don't. I guess I
guess I'm confused about where you're trying to and and
and maybe it's a kudos to the NBA. Maybe, like
you said, they realize that there there p one sorry,
I only know a radio term for it. Are are

(19:39):
West of the Rockies, the West of the Rockies line
go ahead. And so they decide that they're gonna maybe
play k the Pacific time zone, which isn't in any sport.
It's either ridiculously early in the morning or in the
middle of the afternoon. So I don't know. Maybe the
NBA studies show it that the best thing for it
to do, aren'tie, is to go ahead and and to

(20:00):
play this time, because it's it's got to be painful
for those of you on the East Coast to even
try to make it to the fourth quarter. I mean,
I would imagine for you, you're you're praying for a
blowout game every every single game of this playoffs. So
it's been way through the third quarter, forty point game.
I can go to bed. I feel good about things.
I thought they were going to do it that if
you're if the games are in Boston, it would be

(20:21):
like an eight o'clock eastern start. If the games are
in San Francisco, you do nine o'clock eastern. So maybe
you get the best of both worlds. I don't know
if that's possible or what. But by the way, I
did do a lot of research on another tired topic
here on Fox Sports Radio, and that is the amount
of breaks between games and the amount of time off.

(20:43):
It's still wild to me how essentially the NBA just
punted on this weekend, right. I mean, and again, I
know old tired conversation, but to play to play that
game on Friday. That's part of the weekend, right, So
you've had games on Friday's the last couple of years,
but this is two straight seasons on he when they've
just flat out punching on a weekend, and it just

(21:04):
doesn't make a lot of sense to me, you know,
I I gotta tell you. Leading up to the game yesterday,
I was so wound up. I don't know if that's
the correct term, just so excited about this game. I
don't know if it was the extra day or then
making a swede or what it was. I don't know
if I would have felt like this on a Sunday.
But I'm like, come on, man, it's been forever, two
games a piece, let's go. I I mean, I'm I'm

(21:26):
I'm watching all the pre game. I'm I'm like invested
to I feel like it was a Super Bowl, you
know what I mean. You're you're getting involved, like eight
hours ahead of time, you got the TV ad, you
got your snacks out, You're like, let's get this thing going.
So I don't know if the extra day caused all that,
but you're right, man, you gotta have one of the
games on the weekend. How do you go two games apiece?
You passed, you punched on a Saturday, you pumped on

(21:47):
a Sunday. And I know the game was on Friday,
but should have reworked the schedule? I I don't know,
do they do? They have to have the schedule set
in stone? How many days before this? Is it just
before even the playoffs start? Or I mean, I know
they say, if it's a sweep, will start here. If
it goes seven games before, then we'll start here. I
feel they could be more flexible when it comes to

(22:08):
the start dates for the NBA Finals. And as we
dug we dug into this a little bit deeper on
Sunday night where you can catch Arnie and I every
single Sunday from Tin Tin Pete one a central time
that's God's time zone. But I mean literally it was
always growing up and even as recently as two thousand
and twelve thirteen, even though that's a decade ago now,

(22:28):
it was always Tuesday, Thursday, Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, Sunday Tuesday,
and that's I mean, we get a couple extra days
in there after the Tuesday Thursday game. And I know
that travel has changed a little bit but it's just
it's confusing as hell to try to figure this thing out.
But we figured one thing out last night. Golden State
was able to able to overcome a less than stellar

(22:50):
third quarter, a less than stellar shooting night from Steph Curry,
and they end up putting themselves one game away from
an NBA title. Before we dive into all the post
game sound, let's get caught up on everything from the
Warriors win with Eddie Garcia and what's what's going on
at a good morning, gentlemen. It is very weird hearing
your voices at this time, very early in the morning.

(23:13):
Not gonna live, but welcome, good to have you here.
Game five the NBA Finals, obviously, is what we're talking
about the most, where the Warriors beat the Celtics one
oh four ninety four despite missing thirty one three point attempt.
Steph Curry was over nine from buying three point line.
He finished with sixteen points. Golden State had a one
point lead to start the fourth quarter, win on a

(23:34):
ten o run and never looked back. Andrew Wiggins twenties
six points and thirteen rebounds to lead the Warriors in scoring.
Clay Thompson at twenty one points and the Warriors bench
outscored the Celtics bench thirty one to ten. Jayson Tatum
twenty seven points ten rebounds for Boston, Marcus Smart at
a twenty points in a losing effort. Golden State has
a three two edge in the series. They can win

(23:54):
the seventh title in franchise history and their fourth title
in the last seven years with a win in Boston.
On three Day. In baseball, the Padres moving to a
first place, tied with the Idol Dodgers atop the NLS
with a four one win over the Cubs. They had
a tornado awarding in this one in Chicago, they delayed
for a bit. Cubs have lost six in a row.
Uh The Astros lead the Als, but they lose to
the Rangers five at three twins. On top of the

(24:16):

I've learned Arnie from being a regular listener to Fox
Sports Radio that the best stories are usually in the
loser's locker room. But I want to dive into that

(26:27):
coming up next segment, because I do think that there
is a major story involving what's going on in the
loser's locker room. And you are front and center in this,
not because love that, not because you have a basketball
game coming up later today. Maybe the scouts are out
checking you out. But um, I do think there's a

(26:47):
debate to be had about what Boston needs to take
that next step, right, I mean, if they falter, let's say,
even if they force a game seven, it's a hell
of a accomplishment. Still, I think you can say a
relatively young roster for Boston, Okay, so I don't you
know they usually put one of those like Boston's one
of the youngest teams was something. I mean, they have

(27:07):
average out and and and you know that will bring
up the the age requirement there. But uh, I think
for the most part they are a fairly young roster. Yeah,
I think so. Too, but next hour, you know what,
what could be the addition that could push them over
the actual we'll we'll get to its kick up next hour,
but let's go back and let's talk about the I
guess you could say no potential champs. And most of

(27:29):
the conversation was around Steph Curry's off night right first
time in over a hundred postseason appearances, one thirty three
to be exact, that he hasn't made a three pointer.
But Steve Kerr, he wanted to talk about defense. The
key of the game was our defense, so um and
Steph was a big part of that. You know, they
were trying to attack him over and over again. Um,

(27:49):
and he held up really well. I thought Gary Peyton
Um and Wigs and Draymond Um really keyed our our
defensive effort, uh to hold that team to ninety four points. Um.
You know that's that's what it takes, you know, to
win a finals game. It's got to be about the defense. Oh,
you love talking about defense, Aren't done? You know He's

(28:11):
kind of right though. It's about the defense. Though Golden
State can outscore any team out there, they want to
buy defense, or maybe they just wanted because Boston had
bad shooting, but you know, nobody's talking about the turnovers.
Boston had what E T turnovers or something. You're they're
one in seven when they have sixteen plus turnovers, You're
you're not gonna win the game when you do garbage
like that. Then, and again, I don't think I can

(28:32):
emphasize this a little bit more. The NBA Championship was
on the line yesterday and they came up with those
A T turnovers. It's cost in the championship. I mean
that game, that fourth quarter last night just took away
the NBA Championship from the Boston Celtics. I don't think
that's sunk in yet. Do you think we're still going seven?
Though it's possible we can still go seven, but no

(28:52):
way the Warriors losing home in Game seven, it just
can't happen. You mentioned the turnovers and Steve Kurt talking
about the defense, which I'll be the first one to confess,
I don't think that we're gonna get many people fired
up tweeting at us checking in the show to talk
about defense. It's one of the most mundane, boring conversations,
like hey, how about that job getting the hand of
the passing lane. Let's go to the phone's great job

(29:14):
right by I mean, nobody really cares. You want you
want threes, you want dunks, you want stuff. We can
talk about for weeks and weeks and weeks. But the
Warriors did score twenty two points last night off eighteen
Celtics turnovers. They're one and three points off turnovers, is
the most by any team through the first five finals

(29:35):
games since the nineteen ninety two Bulls. And you mentioned this.
Arny Boston is one in seven with sixteen or more
turnovers in a game this postseason. When they don't turn
it over that many times, they're thirteen and two. Wow.
And it goes to show you. I mean, football, we
always talk about the turnovers. If you have, if you
win the turnover war, you win the game. Same thing

(29:58):
with the NBA. You turn the ball all her um, goodbye,
say goodbye to victory. You're you're just killing You're shooting
yourself in the foot when you turn it over. At
least with a misshot, you can get the rebound, you
can get fouled. I mean, there's so many good things
that can happen. Or you just get back at defense
and try to shut them down. But when you turn
it over, nothing good happens from now, No, not at all.
And and I mean give credit to the Golden State

(30:20):
Warriors defense, but and some of that was just really
dumb by the Celtics last night. Speaking of of dumb
plays last night, I thought the back to back flops
one called one was was pretty ridiculous. But as we
talked about in the open, I don't think you can
complain too much about the officiating from last night. I thought,
even though the Celtics had a lopsided advantage with free throws,

(30:44):
they did do a better job of being more aggressive
at times. Why did they? I was trying to make
this segment about Golden States defense, but yet we can't
even get through his segment talking about defense without me
falling asleep. Why why does Boston go away from attacking
the basket so often? Why did they just go through
these stretches where they settle for a Marcus Smart three

(31:05):
or an Al Horford three? Arenie, I mean, they it
seems as if they have so much success when it
comes to attacking the basket, and then the next thing
you know, it's two dribbles and Jalen Brown's launching the
three now again, the shot the ball okay at times
from the three point from beyond the three point line,
but it's when they're aggressive, when they attacked the rim.

(31:25):
They're a dangerous team. And just at times last night
they got away from it. No, and I would love
to see Jalen Brown do it more. He went to
the line ten times. But I mean when Tatum and
Brown love shooting those off, you know, off the jumpers
and and the fadeaways and stuff like that, and sometimes
give them credit, they get so hot. They rely on
it and they're like, hey, I could make anything, especially Tatum.

(31:46):
I mean that guy, it's three pointers. He has no
business even shooting. And next thing you know, they're going
right through the rim there. I'm like, my goodness, man,
that was a great shot. He had some really tough shots.
So they rely on that a little bit, two more
too much. I think they've got to go to the bucket.
Can you imagine you got and Marcus Smart does the
same thing. I think he shoots way too many three pointers.

(32:07):
I know he can hit them, but could you imagine
Marcus Smart, Tatum, Brown, even Al Horford all going to
the bucket at once and you know you're trying to
stop them. I think they should crash the boards a
little bit more and pounded inside a little bit more.
It's um frustrating, I think is a way to put
it for for Boston Celtics fans. But they've got a

(32:28):
chance in Game six. I know you got you got
Game six, Clay. You've got Steph Curry coming off his
store and historic night where he didn't make a three,
which has not happened uh in a hundred and thirty
three games in his career. And and now I can't
help it laugh when everyone's already talking about Scott Foster
potentially being the star, the official of of When When

(32:52):
is game six even? I mean everything's run together? When
is it? Are we walking? Uh back to Boston? But

You know, we ain't gotta win two and one day.

(34:00):
We just have won one game on Thursday, and we've
been in a situation before, so you know it's not
over first back to back loss for the Celtics in
the playoffs. How about this that on that's Jayson Tatum,
by the way, uh in the playoffs most points scored
number one first in points, first and assists, and according

(34:22):
to at stats Muse or stat muse on Twitter, the
most turnovers ever in a playoff. He is the ultimate
all or nothing. I should probably shouldn't say that there
is there is more all or nothings. But when you
see those kind of numbers, I mean that's concerning for
a guy that's supposed to be, uh the next great

(34:42):
thing and maybe is right there in that conversation with
you know, up and coming star are established. I mean, hell,
his team is two wins away from an NBA title
and it kind of laid you know, laid waste and
most of the East. But I mean, I don't know, Artie,
what do you make of the Jason Tatum quagmire for
this postseason? Let me let me ask you this. I mean,
Jayson Tatum, Jalen Brown. Do you think they're superstars? Do

(35:06):
you think Jayson Tatum is a top ten player of
the NBA. Do you think Jaylen Brown is a top
ten or top fifteen player in the NBA? Just just
a quick overall? Do you like those guys? Do you
think those superstars are? What? I don't Okay, I love
Jayson Tatum. I have not been able to get on. Sorry,
that's my fault. Um. I was pulling up a stat

(35:27):
and of course never does any audio work when it's
supposed to, but suddenly the ads always work. Let me reset.
I've never been a big fan of Jalen Brown. I
don't know why, even going back to college. It's never
been a thing for me where I'm like, this dude
isn't and always done. Has proved me wrong, right, Um,
when he was the third overall pick in the draft
in twenty sixteen, I was like, a lot of they

(35:48):
reach him for Jaylen Brown. Then all of a sudden
he becomes a pretty solid piece for the Celtics. He's
got the team in the finals. But I mean, I
don't know, Arnie. I don't look at him as a
guy that I'm like, yeah, that's some dude you need
to win a championship. Like if he went off and
played at Charlotte, I don't think we'd ever hear from
him again. Same if you went you know, I don't
know anywhere else. But I just for some reason, it

(36:10):
seems like it works, which Ayson Tatum, if that makes
any sense. That the only reason I bring that up.
You know, it's interesting to me. Jalen Brown. During the
regular season, Um had turnovers two points seven a game,
so just just almost three a game. Um, same thing
with with Tatum. It was about three a game. How
come we give them a break? But when Westbrook has
three or four turnovers a game, it's like the worst

(36:32):
thing and he's the worst player in the world. He's
got to go, he's out of here. But when someone
like Tatum as it or Jalen Brown has it, Hey,
they're young guys, they're still superstars. Um, it's okay, just
keep shooting, keep working through it. You know, it's amazing
how people love to and I don't want to bring
Westbrook into the whole thing, but it just goes to shoot.

(36:54):
Well I I know that, but it just goes to shoot.
Tatum and Brown, Um, you know they get a pass
for their turnovers. And three turnovers during the regular season,
that's kind of a lot. I think Westbrook, what is
the average three and a half or or something like that.
So I'm just wondering why those guys, you know, are
still considered superstars that get a pass, but Westbrook, we
just want to bury him every time there's a turnover.

(37:15):
You know what I mean? Well, first of all, neither
one of those guys have been an m v P,
so I would say that's part of it. And when
you want an m v P before, I'm sorry, I
expect you to compete at an m v P level.
And that's not questioning rust of Westbrook's competitive spirit, Arnie
the dudes competitive. He just can't shoot um, at least
he shouldn't shoot. I think the other part of it.

(37:38):
And and maybe this is me being a little bit
of Westbrooke Homber And I know you didn't want to
just make this rust versus like the way that canan
Brown are perceived. He's kind of an a hole to
the media, and and you you can look across the
history of time and dudes too, like listen, Traymond Green
is kind of an a hole to the media, but

(38:00):
he kisses up to like the Espns and the Colin
Cowards of the world. So most of the time he's
given a pass. But if he was a jerk, if
he wasn't on the volume, or if he was, you know,
not doing Sports Center hits after games, I'm pretty sure
a majority of people would spend more time crushing him.
But he's good to the right people. Russ Russ isn't.
He doesn't care, So I know you're not trying to

(38:21):
make this rust versus the world. But I think that's
part of it, Arnie. I just think it's his personality
and how he tends to rupt people the wrong way.
And you mean, if you're just making this an individual
conversation about him versus them, Well, the only reason, I
mean Russ should have to turnovers because as you mentioned,
he's not a good, great outside shooter. So he's gonna
go he's gonna go ahead and go to the bucket
a lot. He's gonna go ahead and try to distion

(38:43):
awf a lot. Tatum and Brown are very good outside shooters,
so you know, instead of just turning it over there,
they they shoot the ball. You know, you get more
shots from them. So when they have three turnovers, that's
awfully alarming. But again they're young, and that's what happens
though they've been in the league, what what three or
four years? Our time flies from that draft. But um,
you know, you just can't have those My whole point

(39:04):
which you just can't have those turnovers. Again, they had
what eighteen turnovers. That's that's the stat that costed the game.
You can look at all the shooting you want, but
when you turn over the ball that time, that's that's
a possible forget about three point shooting. Even if it's
just two point shooting, that's a possible thirty six points
left there right there on the table, um fifty four
if you want to count three pointers, so somewhere in between,

(39:26):
and and you don't get any of that, that just hurbs.
Sixth year in the league for Brown, fifth year in
the league for Jayson Tatum. So yeah, I know you're like,
did they just get drafted like we have three or
four years ago? What are you talking about? Sixteen? And
Brown was the sixteen draft, Tatum was seventeen draft. Aready

There were some numbers that shifted in Vegas involving the
Browns that caught everyone's attention. We'll break it down for
