Speaker 1 (00:00):

myself LaVar Arrington. Make sure you catch us live weekdays

am Pacific on Fox Sports Radio. You can find your

(00:20):
Joe Show over at Fox Sports Radio dot com, or
stream us live every day on the I Heart Radio
app by searching f s R. You're listening to Fox
Sports Radio No Show. I'm literally blown away that you

(00:42):
just happened to be in l A this week. Yeah, yeah,
pretty much. It's just it's about a week ago or so.
I'm like, let me try to get out to l A. Man,
I haven't been out here and forever. I want to
see some friends. And uh, it just so happened coincidentally
that they asked me to fill in for a few days.
And uh yeah, so I'm physically here, plankster crazy. I'm

(01:05):
sitting here this morning panicking a little bit. I'm looking
at different connections. I'm always trying to be the night
because I deal with the crazy person normally. Ricky, you
can attest to this Roberto Eddie. I mean with Arnie,
it's like eight hours before the show. It's like, I'm
I'm ready to connect. You're ready for me? Connected? Connected? Right? Well,

(01:26):
you worked with him yesterday. You know this. I mean literally,
it's it's great and and every single text has got
to be a group text, and that group text has
got to go out at least eight hours before the
show that he's ready to go. So I'm sitting here,
I'm kind of I'm trying to be you know, you
and I don't get to work together very often. We don't,
and I enjoy chopping it up with you. So I'm

(01:46):
trying to make everything set here. I got on my
notes and I dial in Onto and I'm like, dude,
I'm on two. You can jump in on one. And
then you'd say, believe it or not, I'm in l A.
Extremely endous. Yeah, it's good to be with you. Thank story.
You know, think about this as we are getting set
for game six tonight. This is a true story. I

(02:07):
was driving out to l A. This is years ago
when uh and we linked up in the Great state
of Oklahoma. We went out to a sports bar and
we were watching it. I don't know if it was
Game six, the epic Clay Game six, I don't think
it was, but it's earlier in that series. It was
Warriors Oklahoma City Thunder and that was the uh okay

(02:30):
See eventually had a three one lead and they blew it.
But yeah, we went out and broke bread and we're
watching I don't know what it was, maybe game two
of that series or something like that. It was kind
of wild too, because I this is no BS as
we welcome you, welcome you into two pros and a
cup of Joe with Brian no. I'm Chris Plank on
a Thursday. By the way, I've had COVID this week.
Brian No Man terrible, but I'm I think I'm over

(02:53):
right now. I'm getting over it. Uh. It was you
know they talked about all five days from when you
first had your symptoms now that you've been facing all
the stuff. I'm like, there's people eve a lot faster
than I am. But I digress. When you came through
okay See, and actually technically you came through the beautiful
city of Norman or as we like to say, Nompton
around here, and I think we took the Nickel Tour.

(03:15):
I think we were around and showed you the stadium
for oh you and all that stuff. But what was
crazy about it is that was a time whenever Oklahoma
City thunder fans were like, this is the greatest thing ever,
this is never going to end. This is what And
then all of a sudden, literally like drand goes to
Golden State, Russell Westbrook hast Is two years, they have
the big party, Paul George is in and out in

(03:37):
the season, and the next thing you know, you're in
rebuild mode. So people waxed nostalgically about that, which was
legitimately like five years ago. I mean, it really wasn't
that long ago. People talk about it as if it
was something that happened during the dust Store. I was like, oh,
I remember when the Thunder were good, going back a way,
you know, in the Kevin Durand days before he became

(03:58):
a snake. But it's crazy, though, Plank is because it
ties literally to tonight's game. If you go back to
that when Okay See had the three one series lead,
if they win one more game, if you don't have
Clay Game six or Game six, Clay, right, I can't.
That's trademark, you know that in trouble. It's like saying

(04:20):
the black and silver for your rate is you know,
It's like no, no, no, no, it doesn't work like
you got flip flap that bad boy. But game six, Clay,
if you have okay, see win one more games, one
more Kevin Durant probably doesn't go to Golden State. You
don't have Golden State where they are right now. The
ripple effect is completely different. If there's one more win,

(04:43):
who knows you might have k D and Westbrook still
there or multi time champions. You have no idea what
would have come from that if they won one more
game against the Warriors. Alright, So for my local show,
buddy Lee Vinson, who is a new is a sports

(05:03):
guy in in Oklahoma City, is a regular two Pros
and a Cup of Joe listener, and he reached out
the other day. He's on fire for that topic we
are doing. We are doing this locally today on our
affiliate in Norman. Let's go look at you, Brian. No
sparking the fire early, but speaking of affiliates, as we
welcome you in on this absolutely just loaded Thursday morning

(05:24):
for the show Big Welcome to one of our newest
affiliates the all New Fox Sports Night twenty in Columbus, Ohio.
G M Brian did co program director John Crenshaw, the
home of Columbus Clippers Baseball swelcome board. You also gonna
be a fun run and you got no and I today,
So it's all good. And Brian knows, world, what is

(05:45):
the biggest story in sports today? Because I want to debate,
all right, I guess we're not really debating. I want
to know if that's not something that can move hockey
to the top of the chart from last night? Whatever? Right, Yeah,
I hear what you're saying, and sure, yeah, it's right.
What three three going into the third period and it

(06:05):
ends up being can you say a walk off? It
should be a walkoff? Right, like of course, yeah, you
have the overtime win last night. Think about it's an
epic way to start Game one of the Stanley Cup Final.
And right, if you're Gary Bettman, if you're some of
the head haunt shows at the NHL, if it must

(06:25):
be so disheartening to flip on sports radio and you
hear so game six tonight in the NBA, it's like
we just had an epic Game one Stanley Cup final.
You must be tearing your hair out. That's might be
why Gary Bettman has a shortage of Harry's tearing it
out based on the coverage. I'm with you, I'm with you.
I mean yes, Game six deserves a conversation. Uh, and

(06:48):
there's a lot of different angles and branches to it.
I mean literally, I went through the debate shows force
coming up in our next segment yesterday, Brian and I
picked my top three favorite face debates that took place yesterday,
so we can have them heading into Game six. Tom
Brady spoken to Dan Patrick show we have tons from that.
There's more news about if if Baker's moving. Jerry Jones

(07:12):
shoots down the possibility of a second Dallas Dallas team,
Dallas NFL team in the in the Dallas metro area
rather quickly. There there's all kinds of little side stories
going on. But I will never understand why there isn't
more juice for something like what we saw last night,
because we complain in in the NBA about, oh, this

(07:33):
just hasn't been great games. And you know, Arnie's real
big gotta have a buzzer beater. You literally had every
and you've had everything you could one in these playoffs.
But yet if we bring it up, we get well,
I don't want to say we get chast eyes, but
people like, oh really, I mean Eddie, Eddie Garcia would
be all about it, and I understand it. But I'm
just I was all in last night, and my Twitter

(07:55):
timeline was all in last night. But the TV ratings
are probably gonna tell us a completely different story and
our topic of conversation today, which just so it blows
my mind, Chris, because if you didn't know about the ratings,
and you just watched a game, and numerous games in
the playoffs, not just the Stanley Cup Final, in game
one there, and you're looking at the fan base. I

(08:17):
swear hockey is the heavy metal of the sports world.
If you go to a metal concert, you're like, this
must be the most popular genre ever created. And it's
just it's not. It's it's niche, but it's crazy because
you have in hockey, you'll have these crazy watch parties outside.
It's similar to the Bucks right where they have their

(08:37):
watch party outside. You'll see this. You saw it in Edmonton.
It's similar to Toronto Raptors. Right. You look at the
rabid fan base in person, like at these arenas or
outside the arenas, You're like, their ratings must be really strong,
and they're not. I don't know how that works. There's

(08:58):
just such a disconnect between the rate being as healthy
as you think they should be and what they actually are.
It's crazy. I mean, listen, I don't try to gauge
too terribly much on a home team's play by play call,
but even listen to the excitement of the final call
at the conference hole shoots, it's blocked. The cos game
risk a shine and you don't have to go home,

(09:25):
but you can't stay here. Concess party is over. Colorado
wins game one and over time four to three of
the final Avs take Game one. Guess what They're gonna
take two day off and actually play a game tomorrow.
It's not taking three days off. It's awesome, But yet

(09:46):
most would be of the opinion that, all right, boys,
let's let's move on. Let's let's get going here. Where's this,
where's the NBA, where's the NFL talk? Let's go we'll
we'll talk about game two for the two minutes at
SportsCenter gives it, and Eddie's hockey minute too. That's it,
I know, it's wild, and I'll say this real fast plank,
I'm sure you can relate to it. I'm not going
to base my viewing habits on what the ratings tell us.

(10:10):
You know, I'm gonna watch what I'm interested in. Certainly,
when we do a show, we're gonna have to go
where the people are. Absolutely that's the way it goes.
But if I want to see Game one last night,
I'm gonna watch it because I'm interested. Now, I'm a
sports fan, and if we're not gonna do three or
four segments on it compared to tomorrow, where we definitely
will after Game six of the NBA Finals, I'm still

(10:33):
gonna check it out, right, But it is going to
have an impact on what we bring up here. That's
just how it goes. You'd be you'd be out of
your mind if you didn't pay attention to that to
some degree, right, I agree? Absolutely good. It was fun, man.
It was fun to see people that don't normally tweet
or talk about hockey into this last night. Granted it
was on a pretty unique stage because we are there's

(10:57):
not a ton going on around it, But then again,
how how need am I? Brian? When I say there's
not a ton going on because you got an NBA Finals,
you got NFL, you got two, Shawn Watsy, got Tom Brady.
I mean, how much more do I need to with
a Major League Baseball season where you got a guy
going into the ninth with a no hitter and suddenly
Dave Roberts changes. I mean to complain about, Well, there's
not a lot going on. It's a little bit shortsighted

(11:19):
right now. You know what's funny is I wonder how
I would behave as a die hard NFL fan if
the dynamic was flip flopped between the NHL and the NFL.
What I mean by that is this, like I'm knee
deep into NFL football, right and let's just say the
NFL didn't have great ratings, and so I'm watching game in,
game out. I'm very familiar with this, and then there's

(11:42):
some big playoff games and some people just come out
of the woodwork and they're like, hey, just the fun digs. Wow,
you know what I mean, Like, that's what we do
with hockey. So for a diehard hockey fan, how does
that feel? Because I'd be tearing my hair out, like
are you serious? You're just now aware of who Dawson
Knox is really. You know, it's got to be hard

(12:04):
for a hardcore hockey fan. Well, um, you know, thankfully
on this show. I don't know if it's Eddie around
right now, Eddie Garcia can give us a firsthand account
of that. Brian, Now, yeah, that is a very good question.
Eddie Garcia. How do you feel whenever suddenly you have
people jumping on your bandwagon completely clueless about what's taking
place to get to this point. Oh, I don't I

(12:25):
don't mind it at all. I I'm encouraged when you
know people will reach out to me on Twitter and
ask me questions or get my opinion on different things
and say, you know, hey, I'm getting into this. I'm
trying to learn, and I'm more than happy to try
and help out. But you know, you know, it's funny.
Charles Barkley was on the Dan Patrick Show a couple
of weeks ago, and and Dan asked him about the

(12:46):
NBA playoffs, and he said, I don't give a damn
about the NBA playoffs. I'm watching the NHL playoffs and
I'm like, if Charles Barkley says that and people aren't
listening I'm not sure who can say anything to get
people convinced that this is better than that, you know,
I'm I'm not saying I've given up on trying to
convince people like I try to encourage people. I've given
up on being upset about it. I just can't. I'm

(13:08):
not gonna waste my time on it anymore. My whole
thing is like, it's kind of like, uh, my nephew, Uh.
He comes over to our place every Wednesday and we
take him out to dinner. And every week we tell him,
you can go wherever you want. And every week he
says McDonald's. And I tell him, you know, in and
out Burgers right here and it's a lot better. And
he says, Nope, going to McDonald's. That's to me, that's

(13:30):
the NHL and the NBA. I can tell you it's better,
but you're like, now, this is what I know, this
is what I'm used to. I'm going to McDonald's. And
you're like, all right, I love the comparison. That's a
great comparison. I still think too, that my favorite part
of this whole conversation is that No uses Dawson Knox
as the person that he has a couple of touchdown

(13:51):
grabs against the Patriots, and people like whoa, wow, Nawson Knox,
and you're just I give any credit because that that
will drive you less crazy. Taking his approach like very gracious,
very hockey like, almost like it's okay, you know you
don't know everything. It's all right, very ushering, very nicely done.
But but I'll tell you what when I when I
first became passionate about hockey, and I tried to convert

(14:15):
everyone I knew, and they just a lot of them
were not interested. It would drive me crazy. But I
don't know. Maybe it's a mellowing with my age, and
I don't get too upset about it anymore. I just
I just try and try and enlighten and if they listen, awesome,
and if they don't, then okay, Yeah, I'm the same way.
I think it's age. I really do, because I used
to get I used to get so mad when people
would dump all over Nascar. I'm like, what are you trying?

(14:37):
I got as I got a little older, Like you know,
they are just turning left rhone down there a little bit.
You're sitting here fighting about certainly, and I know there's
some die hard. NASCAR fans are like, there's more than that.
Trust me. If you just kind of tap out and
you're like, listen, go ahead and hate on it. College
football is the same way. I feel like I get
into fights with people over college football. I like, why
would you just be so hell been about not watching

(14:59):
college it ball? It's awesome, But you're right if I've
come to the conclusion, and no, it sounds like you've
been here and Eddie obviously too to where I used
to base so much on TV ratings and yes, for
what we do, you have to to a certain extent,
right if I see if I see that nobody is
watching the NBA Finals game six tonight and the rating
has come back really, really low, I'll be like, how

(15:21):
much time do we want to spend on that? But
in reality, I've kind of adopted the if you're not watching,
guess what you're missing out because I'm watching and I
love it absolutely. Yeah, you can't make it everything in
terms of your viewing habits, but in terms of the topics,
if we're like you and I are doing a sports
radio show, ye, it kind of matters when it comes
to that though. All right, it's a Brian note that's him.

(15:42):

find me at Plank Show. Brian is at the No
Show in o E at the No Show. So how
long you in in l A all week? Yeah? Till till
next Thursday morning, Planks. Yeah, but man, those days get

(17:53):
gobbled up so fast. You know how it goes when
you travel, Because I look, man, no, I don't I
have three kids. I want to up out of my
car window when I travel. You get I don't get
to travel by my own and get road trip pizza
and stop whenever I want. I mean, come on, no,
I don't know what it's like to have fun on
a road trip anymore. Brian, I'm sorry it sounded, uh
you know, like me just trolling you over. Yeah, now

(18:16):
I think about it. Yeah, you make a make a
legit point there? Blank have an eight year old that
fights with me over everything from dinner to uh, what's
on TV? So yeah, no, no, no, you go enjoy
your single man lifestyle. Here I'm gonna I'm gonna get
my eyes clawed out by eight year old because I
decided I wanted something other than McDonald's eddie. So for me,
it's Brahms or Chick fil A. But no, you didn't

(18:37):
open up a wound. Here. I'll tell you what that's
a reality show I would watch. Is you arguing with
your eight year old about filling the blank whatever it
happens to the base. Can I tell you why it
wouldn't be good? Because I always lose. It's just it
wouldn't be good at all. And here's the funny here's
the fight quick list. Sidebar. I'm always told in River
so I know that you you deal with your kids,

(18:57):
and Ricky, I don't know if you have kids or not.
And Eddie, I know that you're happily married, no kids,
So it's a beautiful thing for you right now. Um,
I will get in trouble for not He's like, listen,
you've got to be a little bit more stern with
the kids. You're like your fun dad, your Disneyland dad.
You're going to get him Starbucks or ice cream. You
gotta be And then whenever I'm more stern Brian and

(19:19):
I'm like, hey, you gotta go to bed, then I
get in troubles, like hey, hey you need you need
to call him down. So I'm always confused about what
I'm There's no winning, is what you're telling. I'm in
a constant ell in my life. This is why I
really need the Raiders to be good this year. That's
why you really need Father's Day coming up on Sunday
to enjoy that. No, I've got it mo on Father's Day.

(19:41):
So you're staying till next Thursday. That's pretty awesome. Yeah, yeah,
I'll be here for a for a little bit of time.
But man, like I said, those days get gobbled up
so fast. I'm gonna go up. I was telling Eddie yesterday,
I'm gonna go up to Fresno. I did radio and
Fresno for a couple of years. I've been there forever.
I'm just gonna drive up from l A. I mean
that's not just around the block. It's a good four
plus hours ish somewhere there. So I'll be there for

(20:03):
a night just to see a few friends and then
come right back. But man, it goes fast, goes way
too fast when you're in town here. Whenever you return
to the station that you worked at at Fresno, is
it like pomping circumstances, Is it a big welcome back
or or no? Well, I don't go. I don't think
i've stepped foot back into that building. Uh since oh

(20:23):
nine um where there was just a nationwide rook reduction.
They went about two thousand people go across the country.
I went to work and then I walked out with
a few things in a box, you know, like you know,
that's just the way it went. So I have been
back since there. But I've got lifelong friends in that
area for sure, yeah, you World traveler, Brian No. And
by the way, I always like the fancy terms that

(20:45):
they've given. We're not firing. This is a riff. It's
a reduction in force. So yeah, you're okay, you're not fired,
you're fired. It was just you know, you're you're on leave.
You're on until we tell you that we want you back.
And I'm sorry, we're not going to Brian No. I'm
Chris Plank. We're sitting in for Jonas and the guys

(21:06):
here on Fox Sports Radio two Pros and a Cup
of Joe. This quote made the rounds yesterday, and I
gotta be honest with you as we prepare for Game
six tonight between the Warriors and the Celtics, I was
kind of surprised it wasn't a little bit more talked about.
But then again, I also think most of us realized
whenever things are in a locker room that we don't

(21:26):
get too carried away with it. So big debate on
one of the debate shows yesterday, did Steve Kerr make
a mistake saying this to his team and tell you
how amazing you were about It's a total team especially

(21:46):
we're going to get its now again, great audio there.
You could tell it's being taped in a locker room somewhere,
and it sounds like it's a fairly private recording of
it because he's definitely not speaking into a mic. But
do we just just missed that as a locker room conversation.
I'm sure it ended up on the Celtics um board

(22:08):
somewhere for motivation, But was at a mistake by Currors
that just him talking to his team. I think it's
just him talking to his team. Um, it could turn
into a mistake, like this is the way it goes playing?
Can you know this? It reminds me of the Spurs
right when they were in their heyday with Tim Duncan
and company, Genoe Blade Parker. If they won, well, they

(22:31):
were seasoned veterans, you know they lost. They were old old.
So if the Celtics win, to that man, Steve curR,
what was he doing? If the Celtics lose, it's it's
not even a story, right. I think that's the way
it's gonna go down. And it's always interesting because we
need jerk in the NBA playoffs and part of it,
I think is because you have so much time between

(22:51):
games and there, there's a lot of domination of the
talk cycle on the NBA playoffs. If this sees lookally
at me. If the Celtics win tonight, then suddenly it's oh,
Jason potitiation, Tatum got it figured out. They're gonna be
a problem going into Game seven. The Warriors looked old.

(23:11):
If the Warriors closed it out and suddenly the Warriors
crisp championship machine, when will the run end? You know?
Can you stop Steph Curry? It's wild how just literally
on a whim. Well, games not necessarily win, but I
think you understand what I'm saying. The whole narrative can
change for both of these franchises right now. Yeah, it

(23:32):
is funny how we're just a couple of years removed
from the Warriors. There was just so much more widespread
belief in them not that long ago. Right where I
feel like if you hadn't watched these teams the last
handful of years and you just went by the most
popular opinions, you would think that the Celtics are the

(23:52):
three time champions instead of the Warriors, right because I
think earlier in the series, it's just like man are
gold It's Golden State. Gonna be able to win a
game in Boston like that was the talk going into
Games three and four, And it's just funny. It's just
funny how they've been doubted so much by so many
when they do have the backtrap. It's almost as if

(24:13):
the expectations are so high for them. If they fall short,
I think the skepticism is blown out of proportion. It's
weird how this series has gone like that. Yeah, we
got tons more to preview. In fact, when we come back,
we'll hear from Steph Curry on being the King of Petty.
But first here on Fox Sports Radio, let's welcome in
the True Star this Year program Eddie Garcia with what's
going on in the world of sports. What's up, Pattie?

(24:35):
Thank you very much, you are you're too kind. Although
have you ever heard Jonas introduced me. He really goes
over the top of some of this stuff. He says,
it's completely ridiculous. But thank you. NBA Finals Room tonight,
as you guys are talking about Game six in Boston,
Warriors looking to close it out with a three two
series advantage. Of course, the Boston self explained to stay
alive enforce of Game seven back in San Francisco, NBA news.

(24:56):
The Dallas Mavericks reportedly are acquiring forward Christian Would from
the Houston and Rockets Rockets in exchange for the number
twenties six pick in this year's draft and four players
with expiring contracts Boban Marjanovic, Marquis Chris Trey Burke, and
Sterling brown Wood six average nineteen point one points, nine
point nine rebounds during his two seasons with the Rockets.

(25:16):
Game one of the Stanley Cup Final, the Avalanche in
overtime beat the Lightning four three, Andre Rakovski with the
game winner in sudden death. Call it a Now thirteen
and two so far this postseason, they've obviously had the
one oh series lead. Game two will be Saturday, uh
in Denver. In some baseball games of note, we had
the Braves winning their fourteenth straight beat in the Nationals
eight to two. The Dodgers down the Angels four to one.

(25:37):
L A starter Tyler Anderson was two ounces away from
a no hitter, than Shoo Tani hit a triple to
break things up. Anderson still eight no on the season,
tied for the major league leading wins. Padres pound the
Cubs nineteen to five, Estate, virtually tied with the Dodgers
for the top spot of the NLST technically l as
percentage points ahead. Chicago has lost nine in a row,
the Yankees one thirteen straight at home after beating the

(25:58):
Raise four to three. Eron d Is majorly leading home
run of the year, Pirates snapping nine game skid with
a six four one of the Cardinals, while the Brewers
beat the Mets ten to two. So Milwaukee moves the
game and at back of St. Louis in that racer
first in the nl Central. Astros on top of the
Als beat the Rangers two twins, leading the AL Central
shot off the Mariners by a score of five to nothing.

(26:18):

But first it's from Dollar Shave Club. The Dollar Shave
Club six Blade razor brings noticeably smooth shaves with six

Now back to my two favorite fill ins, Brian No

(27:01):
and Chris Plank on the Fox Sports Radio Network. Thank
you very much, Eddie Garcia straight cash. Um gosh, I'm
Eddie's update reminded me that I feel like we do
oh a little Dodger talk this morning. No, I feel
like this is gonna be a terrible admission the only time.
And I know this Roberto watches every Dodgers game start

(27:24):
to finish, but I feel like I'm only tuned into
baseball when something crazy happens this early point of the season,
like when Roger Clemen's kid comes in to mop up
an absolute blowout and it's throwing the EPHS pitch, or
when Dave Roberts decides to pull Clayton Kershawn a game
where he's perfect and then decides to keep some slappy

(27:46):
in that is got a no no into the ninth,
So I I don't know if that's worthy of a
segment this early in the morning or not. But Tyler
Anderson did get that opportunity in the ninth that Dave
Roberts didn't a out Clayton Kershaw earlier this year. Yeah,
and that's that's my main takeaway is the last two
nights is it started with Miles Michaelis and the Cardinals

(28:09):
hundred and twenty nine pitches and it's one strike away
from a no hitter, but one twenty nine. There are
a lot of managers that are like, he's approaching triple digits,
get him out, his arms gonna fall off. Tyler Anderson
last night a hundred and twenty three pitches, and it's
that it's case by a case. We know that Clayton
Kershaw has had some injury issues and he's just getting

(28:30):
longer in the tooth and all that type of thing.
But it was refreshing the last two nights to see
a hundred and twenty nine pitches with michael Has hundred
and twenty three with Tyler Anderson, where there are managers
that show you case by case, they'll let a guy go,
let a guy go well into the hundreds to try
to get a no, no or a perfect game. That
was a selfish goal yesterday there by Tyler Anderson. That's

(28:51):
that's what CLAYT Kershaw said about while being pulled from
the Perfect Game. Yeah, those are his exact words. Yeah, yeah, Wow.
How many pitches did Clayton have? Like and they were
going into like the ninth stress whatsoever they were going.

(29:13):
That's it was. It was literally one of the most
random games in the history of ever because it was
like a ten A. Yeah, selfish goals for Tyler Anderson
last night anyway, It's just one of the wild sir.
Dodgers still won the game four to one. But and
kudos to Mookie bat I know you read my mind.

(29:35):
I love it. Hehere had no jets. I watched that
highlight since I since I started diving into that game
this morning. I probably watched that highlighted thousand times and
I can't stop laughing at it enough. At least Anderson,
at least Tyler Anderson knows he was going all out
to try to make them play because he was nowhere

(29:56):
close to right and he had to know. Mookie Bets
had to know when Otani hit it down the right
field line, He's like, there's no way, but I'm gonna try.
I'm gonna try. I don't know if there was another body,
like if you extended where Mookie Bets ended and then
you started another body of Mookie Bets, if he still
would have reached that ball. By the way, here is

(30:18):
this says it has music under it, So I don't
know how great it is, but here here is Tyler Anderson.
Afterwards last night, and I felt like I still had
enough command that I could get back into the accounts
and then just kind of trust my stuff from there. Yeah,
it's got. It is the winning music in the background. Sure.
By the way, with that in mind, are you getting

(30:39):
to chevez ravine while you're out there? No, it's you know,
what's crazy plan? Because I was gonna try to go
either last night or the night before. The last night
would have been a pretty cool game to see, even though,
Oh but you go overnight, right, well you got you got?
Oh yeah, Sunday, Yeah, maybe Sunday. But I could have
made it happen last night. It just didn't work out.

(31:01):
But you know, I've I've been a handful of baseball
games more NFL games, Blank, but I haven't seen anything
just crazy in person, but a near no hitter like that.
That's pretty memorable if you made it out there last night.
Do you make the track to baseball stadiums like you
do to NFL stadiums? No checklist, No, no checklist. I've
been to a handful of baseball stadiums, but not like football.

(31:23):
I'm only missing maybe I don't know five or six
NFL stadiums at this point. What's the next big stop
on the NFL tour, man, I don't know. I gotta
get to Tampa. I gotta get to Tampa this year.
I almost made it last year for that epic playoff
game where the Rams and Tampa. I almost went to
that one. I gotta make it this year. This could

(31:44):
be Brady's final year. I gotta make it to Tampa
while it's still rocking. You know, that's a must must
do this year. I cannot argue with you on that front.
He's probably no. I'm Chris Blank sitting and we got
NFL talk to UH to dive into at some point.
There's more Deshaun Watson news there, Uh, there's a question
about what he well, there's a question. There has been
a constant question about what a suspension might look like,

(32:06):
and it seems like it's been ramped up the last
few days. But first, before we get there, Brian, let
me pay off the tease. Let's do bring up a
couple of things from tonight showdown between the Celtics and
the Warriors in Game six, and Steph Curry after a
rather forgetful Game five for him personally and individually, has
given himself a new title. I'm the Petti King, So

(32:27):
I know all about everything that uses as entertainment and
just have fun with it, because the more you're on
the stage, the more you realize the attention that's on you,
how much it means to each fan base, how much
it means to the cities. So you can't really be
surprised by anything because there's there's a lot of stakes
when it comes to winning championships, and the more that

(32:49):
you get into these environments, the more you use this
entertainment and fun and embrace it because so you wouldn't
want to have any other way knowing that you're on
this stage and you're planning for something that really matters
to a lot of people. I think some guys aren't
is honest about their pettiness. I gotta give Curry listen
to me, Curry credit least he's honestly like listen, I

(33:10):
see it all. Might not always respond to it, but
I'm truly the petty king. I'm here for it. Yeah,
it's interesting because there are a decent amount of naysayers
with Steph Curry, greatest shooter of all time, but he's
not exactly a defensive Hall of Famer, and it gets
talked about where he's hunted by opponents often. Um, But

(33:31):
you know what's interesting to me, Plank, is you don't
see it that often. You wouldn't know, based on how
he goes about his business, that he's paying attention to
the slights as much as he is. You saw a
little bit of that during the forty three point game
in Boston where he's having it out with the fans
and you know, he's fired up and all. That's where

(33:52):
I guess, like he would say the pettiness is coming from.
He's taken notes. He's taking Tom Brady like notes based
on the naysayers, and I wouldn't have picked that up
just based on his mannerisms on the court. Typically, I
want to add one more thing on Steph Curry when
we get back, because I agree with you he gets
questioned about his defense. But this sudden avalanche of I

(34:16):
don't perceived slights on Steph Curry's resume is interesting to
me because I don't know if I see it as
much as it's alleged to be out there. And obviously
Game six tonight is a huge statement moment coming off
what happened in Game five. We're counting down to the
Celtics and the Warriors in Game six tonight, plus recapping
the incredible start to the Stanley Cup Finals, and always listen,

(34:37):
it's the NFL, so it's going to be a part
of our conversation. It's coming up with Brian No. I'm
Chris Plank here on Fox Sports Radio. Be sure to
catch live editions of Two Pros and a Cup of
Joe with Brady Quinn, LaVar Arrington and Jonas Knox weekdays
at six am Eastern, three am Pacific on Fox Sports
Radio and the I Heart Radio with Brian No. I'm

(34:59):
Chris Plank sit in for Two Pros and a Cup
of Joe in fact we get not only today but
tomorrow's show knows live from our l A studios. I'm
live from our Goldsby, Oklahoma Studios. Didn't know if you
guys realized we had a branch here in Oklahoma. But
we got a busy show for you coming up in
our two tons as we preview tonight's NBA Finals game

(35:20):
six tons on the NFL O t A conversations that
are taking place when it almost sounded like playing by
the way to jump in. It almost sounded like you
were the petty king with that Oklahoma. Not not that
anybody knows that we have studios over here in Oklahoma.
No, no no, no, no, I just meant that I'm creating it.
I've made it something that it's not all right. In

(35:42):
my mind. I'm like I'm walking into the Fox Sports
Radio Oklahoma studios. Whenever literally I'm walking into my garage
praying I don't get bit by theater of the mind. Man,
you know it is these don't let this wasp bite
me during this show, or are poor Roberto is gonna
be diving for the dumb button er Rick. He'll be
like he just caused I think we're a safe So

(36:04):
though aren't we still on the West coast. Yeah, give
it a shot. Just let one go and let's let's
start talking. Well, let's wait, we'll get into a Baker
Mayfield this debate later than I might let one fly there.
It's it shows, brought to you by the Dollar Shave
Club six. The Dollar Shave Club six blade razor brains
noticeably smooth shapes with six stainless steel blades for swift
hair removal and a lubricating strip that keeps things smooth.

(36:27):
Dollar Shave Club razors are sold a Dollar Shave Club
dot Com or in stories real quick. I know we
get to to hang out for six hours, three today,
three tomorrow. But how did it go yesterday? With a
stinking genius? It was good man. Arnie's a trip, you know,
are much? Yeah, he's uh like I'd say this, Chris.
I'm an ally of the truth, and every now and

(36:47):
then Arnie will have an Arnie is um right? Where
last year? I'll give you a real quick story. So
I'm writing that down by the way. An ally of truth,
an ally of honesty. You know, I'm an l a
of the truth. Where um, you know Arnie will it's
just radio right he's just kidding around. It's locker room
type stuff. So Arnie, we're both Dolphins fans. And so

(37:09):
Arnie last year he texted me and be like, Hey,
all the Dolphins need to do is win out and
Buffalo needs to lose, and this team needs to lose,
and that team needs to lose and this other team
needs to lose and they'll be in the playoffs. I'm like, Arnie,
it's not happening, man, it's just not happening that I
don't want it to. It's just not gonna happen. And
so I've turned into in his mind a semi Dolphins

(37:30):
fan because I was saying they're not gonna make the playoffs.
So that's what I'm telling you is he'll have his
Arnie is ums and you're like, but no, that's not accurate, Artie,
and you just have to roll with it. Man. He
got in the biggest fight last year over him declaring
that this and it's funny because he has no memory
of it now. Uh, three to four to five weeks

(37:51):
and even into the first two weeks of the season,
about how the Jaguars were a nine win team and
we're probably going to be in the playoff off makes
and I'm like Arnie where he's like Hall of Fame coach.
Everyone wants Trevor Lords. I'm like, dude, if we want
to have this conversation two years down the road, maybe
they play in a week division their divisions week because

(38:12):
they're in it. You know, it's just oh, and it's
just we're all morons and we're all idiots. And then
whenever they go where they go to in fifteen this
year or whatever it was, there's no memory of it
whatsoever that the that was me. I don't I don't
recall that. I don't think that was the case. But
my new favorite is how the Dolphins are going to

(38:35):
the super Bowl. So I don't love it's there's always
to me in these conversations, a gray area. Some people
don't like that gray area because it's either got to
be the greatest thing ever or the worst. And I
have a lot of friends that live in that area
to where oh this is they got this guy, They're

(38:56):
the greatest team that's ever been put together because they
have Tyree Killy like well in be pretty good. Oh
so you're saying they suck and they're terrible. No, no, no,
I'm saying that they've got a chance to be a
pretty good football team. Yeah, I mean, and no one's
talking about and not to turn this into Dolphins talk,
but you bring Armstead onto solidified, solidify the offensive line.
They've made a couple of nice defensive moves. But I mean,

(39:18):
to every single Sunday night, Bro, every Sunday night, it's
we're going to the Super Bowl. I've already asked for
my time off. I'm like, well, it's funny to me
where you're talking about the gray area. Yeah, and there
are a lot of teams that are right near five hundred.
They're nine or eight win teams, so it's not like
they're either gonna be thirt wins or three wins. There

(39:40):
are a lot of teams that are right smack dab
in the middle. So it's they're the definition of gray.
Now to me, that's most of the NFL right now, right,
I mean, the funny thing is the Bengals go and
they play in the Super Bowl. Last year they were
preseason over under six. They finished their regular season ten
and seven. Now I know they rested their starters in

(40:01):
the final week against the Browns and they came off
a really good win over Kansas City the week before,
But I mean Tenants seven was also the same record
of the team they played in the wild card game
in the Raiders. Tennant seven was also what the same
record as the Patriots last year. So it's it's not
as if you're looking at a league in Tennant seven.
I guess you know nine and eight in that area

(40:22):
that the Steelers made the playoffs a nine and eight
last year. That's kind of that gray area, and to me,
that's where most of the NFL lives. All right, listen,
we we got much more to come. The show is
flying by. I've said this many times. The fastest hour
in radio is the first hour of the morning show.
And guess what, it's already in the book. So when
we come back with Brian No, I'm Chris playing, we're

(40:42):
gonna dive all into these NBA finals. More on Steph Curry,
more on the Celtics and Jayson Tatum trying to bounce back,
plus more on Deshaun Watson. It's all coming up an
hour two right here on Fox Sports Radio.
