Speaker 1 (00:00):
Two Pros and a Cup of Joe. Fox Sports Radio,
Brady Quinn, Jonas Knox with you here. Coming up on
this Tuesday edition, We've got people talking at training camp
in the NFL. First and foremost Jerry Jones. He's telling
you everything he doesn't like about handing out contract shit.
He's going to eventually hand one out to Michael Parsons again.
We're also going to have a conversation about the dollar

(00:22):
store of the NFL, the Cincinnati Bengals, because they sure
were talking and apparently one player on the team he's
leaving on his way to Florida. Proof and evidence that
we discussed during the show on that. Plus, we've got
the very latest on a quarterback's decision to sit out
the entire season. We've got another edition of In case

(00:43):
you missed it, Pete Prisco's gonna stop by, and we've
got Lee's leftovers. It's all yours coming up next here,
Two Pros and a Cup of Joe on a Tuesday,
Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (00:54):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 3 (01:23):
And away we go.

Speaker 1 (01:24):
Two Pros and a cup of Joe here on a
Tuesday morning. Brady Quinn Jonas NOx with you here. You
can listen to us as always on the iHeartRadio app.
You can find us on hundreds of affiliates all across
the country and wherever you are making us a part
of this Tuesday morning, we appreciate it as we start
our three hour journey to excellence. Brady Quinn, how are

(01:47):
we feeling here on this Tuesday, Well.

Speaker 3 (01:50):
Boots on the ground here in Las Vegas, Nevada. I'm
here for the Big Ten media days. So excited about
the opportunity to talk to a lot of players, coaches,
recap what we saw last year, and uh, you know,
take a gander kind of into the future. It's uh,
it's interesting looking at these college football preseason media polls
they've got. As of right now, Penn State is the

(02:13):
favorite to win it, no kidding, which would be a
big year for James Franklin and Penn State. Getting over
the hump. You're gonna have to go through Ohio State.
He's gonna have to go through Oregon.

Speaker 1 (02:24):
It's the first time we talked about them on this show.

Speaker 3 (02:26):
Yea long overdue. Yeah. Right behind Penn State though, is
Ohio State, and then there's organ as well. So those
are kind of the top three teams bidding for that
top spot at least preseason as far as we're looking
at the rosters and everyone everything else that goes and
goes into that.

Speaker 1 (02:45):
Who's the most entertaining coach to chat with from the
big TA Is it Dan Lanning?

Speaker 3 (02:49):
It's Dan Lanning. He's absolute treat. You could see why
players love him. You could see why the you know,
Oregon program has you know, remained at a really high
level since he's been there as head coach. There's just
so much energy, so much enthusiasm. The way you know
looks at things is you know, getting his perspective on

(03:09):
college football with where it's at. He's a ton of
fun to talk to.

Speaker 1 (03:12):
Yeah, he seems like he's a high energy all the time.
And remember that whole garbage that was that what was
it the Texas A and M job that he was rumored, Oh,
he might take the Texas A and M job. That
could be his job. And then it was like, no,
he was good. He was a good stay input where
he's at. So, but Penn State's a favorite, all right,
so good good for them, And we get a little
bit of a some Penn State player here in the show.

(03:35):
All right, So With that being said from one entertainer
to another, the good news for the Dallas Cowboys is
Michael Parsons, speaking of Penn State, did report to training
camp right. He's there in a place you referred two
years ago. I didn't even understand what I'd.

Speaker 3 (03:51):
Never call it this.

Speaker 1 (03:52):
You never called it. No, No, you're mean to tell
me you never called it Knoxnard. No never, Well, then
maybe I misheard, but that's what my assumption was, that
you were the guy that started that whole trend calling
it knock snard. But nonetheless, Michah Parsons did show up
and he's at training camp right. So there's the good news.
Here's what may not be the good news. Jerry Jones

(04:15):
had a mic yesterday and he was asked about Micah
Parsons and the conversations about a contract and whether or
not it's going to get done, and you know, he's
got some concerns.

Speaker 4 (04:27):
Just because we've signed him doesn't mean we're going to
have him. He was hurt six games last year. Seriously,
we've signed I remember signing a player for the highest
paid it's position in the league and he got knocked
out two thirds of the year. Dark Prescott. So there's
a lot of things you can think about, just as
the player does when you're thinking about committing and guaranteeing money.

(04:49):
The other thing I would say is a contractor four
or five years. Okay, there's a lot of water under
the bridge. If you step out there, do something in
the first two or three and can get hit by
a car exiously, and so there's a lot to look
at over a lot of years that could make a

(05:10):
big difference. Have you ever heard of any clubs committing
to players and then they didn't pan out it if
they committed to them?

Speaker 3 (05:18):
We have.

Speaker 1 (05:19):
So there was Jerry Jones expressing all the concerns that
come along with signing somebody to a long term extension.

Speaker 3 (05:27):
When the subject of Michael Parsons gets why does he
do this?

Speaker 1 (05:31):
He strikes me. The way he breaks that down would
be like if some guy was sitting telling you about
all the things wrong with drugs and alcohol while he
was ordering another round, Like Jerry Jones is breaking down
all the cautionary tales of this is why we don't

(05:52):
want to do these deals. This is why we wouldn't
want to do these deals, all knowing he's going to
have to eventually do this deal. I just I really
don't know. I don't know if there's some sort of strategy.
Todd Archer of ESPN says, Jerry Jones discussed a deal
with Michaeh.

Speaker 3 (06:08):
Parsons in March.

Speaker 1 (06:09):
They met at the team facility, but has had no
conversation with David Mulagata, the agent for Michah Parsons. There's
been no discussions with that, and so yesterday he shows up,
the floor was his and he just let it rain
on the the why you wouldn't sign Michael Parson angle
to this whole story, even though knowing he's probably gonna

(06:29):
get the deal done.

Speaker 3 (06:31):
Didn't he not know Michah Parsons agent. Wasn't that a storyline?
A little bit of me in the in the spring? Yeah, yeah,
there was that too. So I don't know how this
plays well for Jerry Jones and Dallas. I mean, heading
into training camp, it's always good to take a shot
at your two best players, right, your quarterback and your
you know, generational edge rusher. That always makes sense to

(06:52):
do that. It's a bold strategy. I'm not sure if
it's motivation. I'm not sure if it's a negotiation tactic.
Maybe Jerry doesn't even know at this age. You know,
Jerry's older than Jerry's older than I think a lot
of people realize.

Speaker 1 (07:07):
Yeah, what is he Can this be a senior moment
for him?

Speaker 3 (07:11):
Let me see?

Speaker 1 (07:12):
Well, I mean, look, the great thing about people that
are older is that they just get to a point.

Speaker 3 (07:16):
He's eighty two, Jesus.

Speaker 1 (07:18):
The great thing about people when they get older is
that they just they start not to really care. They're
just gonna let it fly and be as honest as possible.
And that could be everything from you know, a comment, vulgarity,
you know, the way they act, physical things. You know,

(07:38):
they'll just let it fly whenever it needs to happen.
And Jerry Jones just strikes me as a guy who's
sitting there going, hy man, is what it is, And
we're not going to bend over backwards. We're not gonna
you know, we'll tell you all the things that will
go wrong with these contracts. But it seems like every
single year we find ourselves in this converse where he's

(08:01):
got one of his own guys that needs a deal,
is looking for a deal. There's pushback all the way,
and it's always the last guy to get the deal done, always,
whether it's Dak Prescott, Ceedee Lamb. Like all of these
conversations that happened, even Ezekiel Ellett, even though they paid
him early. The discussion about Zeke took over training camp.

(08:22):
Remember he left, he went to Cabo, all that stuff
that we've talked about before. I don't know what motivates
him to do this other than he just likes the attention.
And I think he just realizes I'll say whatever I
want to say, and Steven Jones is going to have
to deal with with the agent and go from there.
It's very strange. It's a strange approach.

Speaker 3 (08:45):
It's a bold strategy. We've talked about this before in
regards to why he continues to wait. Maybe he was
burned or fell burned by the Zeke Elliott deal. You know,
Zeke never really became the player after he was signed
to that deal that he was beforehand. So he's continually
drug his feet on Dak Prescott's Ceedee Lamb. Now, Micah parsons,

(09:07):
you could probably throw some other players in that category too,
and it only gets more expensive. Now. You and LeVar
floated out the idea that maybe Jerry Jones doesn't mind
bragging that he's paying these guys as at the top
of their position.

Speaker 1 (09:21):
It's it's the fashionably late tax i call it, you know,
the the FLT.

Speaker 3 (09:26):
Jerry Jones likes that, you know, as long.

Speaker 1 (09:28):
As he's willing to He's willing to pay a little
bit more, as long as he is the storyline of
the NFL. Do you know how much it burned his
ass that the Browns took shadhor Sanders and got all
that coverage, or that Aaron Rodgers was getting all the
love the entire offseason. This is revenge time for Jerry Jones,
and he's out to get it this year.

Speaker 3 (09:47):
It's happening a training gap. I don't I don't tend
to see it the way you guys do. I think
at this point in time, he owns the team, He
controls and makes all the decisions. Everyone else has to
follow a suit and it's unfortunate. It's unfortunate for the players,
to the organization, everyone involved, because he probably shouldn't be
He probably shouldn't be making these decisions. He probably shouldn't

(10:09):
be having as many conversations publicly as he is. But
it's all his so he gets to but it sounds
like we're getting to the point where someone else needs
to take take the reins, take control of this, like
revoke his power. Maybe maybe we should take away his
driving privileges. That's all I'm saying. There comes a points
I you say, hey, Grandma, I'm I'm gonna go ahead

(10:31):
and drive. Is that okay? Can I can I take
you to the grocery store? Can I Can I handle this?
We're getting to that situation. I don't mean to say
that making light of the situation either. I feel like.

Speaker 1 (10:45):
We're there by the way, I wonder if some of
this you mentioned getting burned by deals. I mean the
DeMarcus Lawrence Deele was another one that didn't really pan out.
They paid him and at the time I think he
was near the top of the market as far as
contracts given out, and afterwards it just never really worked out.

(11:05):
So maybe there is just some cause for concern. But
I don't know how you have any pushback on what
Micah Parsons has done, arguably one of the best at
his position. I don't know how you have pushback or
reservations about wanting to get this deal done now like
it just seems But is that normal operating procedures to

(11:28):
have a conversation about the contract with the player and
have no conversation or communication with the agent whatsoever at
this point.

Speaker 3 (11:36):
No, that's pretty abnormal. I mean, if anything, the agent
and the organization will be talking more than the player
and the organization about that contract. So this is extremely odd.
But it's Jerry Jones and it's Dallas, so I guess
it falls in that category. Here's here's what's interesting to
me about this, though, is you look at the other

(11:57):
edge rusher who got paid before t J. Watt. Now's
Miles Garrett. You want to be traded. He wanted to
play for a winner, I want to play for a
super Bowl, his legacy, all these things, And it was like,
all right, I guess we're looking at Miles Garrett's his
trade value, and all of a sudden he's presented with
a deal that makes him satisfying. Now he's good. Now

(12:17):
he's ready to come back and be a Cleveland Brown.
So this whole thing can be made good. And it
just comes down to Jerry Jones, that Dallas Cowboys presenting
a contract that Michael Parsons, you know, and his representation
thinks is good enough, which which nothing south of being
the highest paid non quarterback is going to be good
enough for him.

Speaker 1 (12:38):
I mean at least he showed up. I mean, at
least he's there, so he hasn't you know, he hasn't
left yet. So Michael Parsons is in the building.

Speaker 3 (12:44):
Well, again, he's not looking for a contract, right, It's
it's just going to come and smack him. Not most
would have thought I would have smacked him by now
or found him by now, right, because he's not looking
for one. But he's not looking for it. Yeah, it's coming.

Speaker 1 (12:58):
That That is uh yeah, and again that's you know,
we have good sourcing on that. I mean that was
said by a person with knowledge on this show for
sure when it comes to that.

Speaker 3 (13:06):
Now.

Speaker 1 (13:06):
The other aspect of contracts that maybe have not gone
the way that a lot of people thought they would
have gone for the Dallas Cowboys is Trayvon Diggs, who's
been kind of struggling to come back since dealing with
this knee injury that he suffered a couple of years ago,
reaggravated it, had surgery, and he had, you know, some

(13:26):
stuff in his contract. He had to show up for
a certain percentage of the time to rehab at the
facility and be there, and instead he chose to work
out in Florida, And there's been some back and forth.
Jerry Jones was critical about it. They didn't like the
way he handled his rehab process. He pointed out earlier
this offseason about how he should have handled it differently.

(13:49):
And I think he's learned his lesson. And then we
get to this offseason continuing on, and still he wasn't
showing up and he was choosing to rehab the injury
off site in Florida as opposed to Dallas. So because
of that, the Cowboys didn't pay him that part of
his contract, which reportedly they've not done with a player before,
and so Jerry Jones spoke about that situation as well

(14:11):
too yesterday.

Speaker 3 (14:13):
No, he didn't earn it, he didn't come.

Speaker 4 (14:15):
That's in his contract that he didn't get that unless
he's going to be here. Those are contractual things, as
Steven said, and it would be very detrimental to the
team not to abide by the agreement. We expect a
player paid like Trevor On to be here all the time.
We expect him to be leading expect him to be leading,

(14:39):
but that's not new. That goes all the way back.
Dion was not necessarily given to come to the weight room,
and I explained to him that it meant a lot
for him to be in there. Needs to have some
show with It's important to have the right body language
in every respect. When you are one of those rare,

(15:00):
financially paid and gifted players, you've got to have some
leadership about you.

Speaker 1 (15:06):
So there's Jerry Jones on Michael Parsons, Trayvon Diggs, and
it just makes me wonder, what the hell were those
negotiations like with Mike McCarthy that went sideways. I would
love to know how those discussions went and at what
point did Mike McCarthy just go, you know what, f
this man like this is just a waste of my time.

Speaker 3 (15:24):
I'll go take a year off and then come back
in twenty twenty six. Yeah, this is one though, where
I think you actually can make a case for Jerry
Jones and what's within the contract in regards to how
you go about rehabbing coming back from an injury plays
a role in all of it. And if the language
is in the contract, you agree to that as a player,
you got to come back and rehab with the team.

(15:45):
You can see how some of those teams be frustrated
by I mean, it's not like the Dallas Cowboys are
cutting corners with their facilities, with what they provide their players.
So you know, you can train and rehab somewhere else.
That may you may feel that's in your best interest,
and maybe it is for some guys, but then you
need to make sure you put in your contract some
sort of clause that doesn't allow you to have de

(16:07):
escalators in it. If that's the case, this was thought about.
Jerry Jones has invested into it, and it's one where
if Trayvon Das isn't going to be around, they would
have view him as one of the leaders in the team.
There's some legitimacy to that. You know, we talked about
before how the Green Bay Packers used to put in
their contracts workout bonuses because they wanted to force players

(16:28):
to be in Green Bay in the off season to
work out, because if they didn't, guys wouldn't be there.
Guys weren't showing up in March back in the old
days when that's when the off season workout started. So
they had to structure it in for two hundred fifty thousand,
five hundred thousand dollars bonuses, and you'd still see guys
who wouldn't show up. Sometimes it's crazy, but that's how
it was. So as that became more popular, more teams

(16:53):
started to invest who had the deep pockets in facilities
so people wouldn't have to go to train elsewhere, so
they could look around and say, this is a plenty
good off for me, and I've got all the resources
I need. Why do I need to go anywhere else?

Speaker 1 (17:07):
I mean, it makes me wonder why Jerry Jones can
sit there in judgment. How does he know what sort
of workout equipment and what sort of rehab you know,
Trayvond was doing on the SS two sy with his brother, Like,
how does he know? Like, I mean, that seemed like
a spacious boat. That seemed like there was a lot
going on there, and maybe he was on there getting

(17:28):
his work in while his brother was out doing whatever
he was doing with some of that pink snotsand that
he had on the boat. I mean, Jerry should really
be a little more open minded and not doc a
guy five hundred thousand dollars just because he wants to
partake and get its working while he's on the water.
It's beautiful out there, and it seemed like it was
beautiful on that boat. So another eventful turn for the

(17:49):
Diggs brothers this offseason. And there's the latest from Cowboys
training camp over Knoxnard. So good job, Jerry Way to
keep everybody entertained. This will not be the last we
hear from Jerry Jones, and once he is gone, we're
all gonna miss him.

Speaker 3 (18:07):
We don't realize it now. Glory Hill, Yeah we do.
I'll just say, what does he really want? I won't
make some glory Hill? Yeah, I mean, that's what it
comes down. So that's what he's all about.

Speaker 1 (18:16):
Yeah. So it is two pros and a cup of Joe.
Here on Fox Sports Radio, Brady Quinn Jonas knocks with
you here. So we are going to take you all
the way up again until nine am Eastern time, six

yours here on FSR. Up next though, somebody has made

(18:40):
a decision on their future in the NFL, and it's
a quarterback. We'll get into that for you right here
on FSR.

Speaker 2 (18:48):
Be sure to catch live editions of Two Pros and
a Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn, LeVar Arrington and
Jonas Knox weekdays at six am Eastern three am Pacific
on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 1 (19:02):
Two Pros and a Cup of Joe Here on Fox
Sports Radio, Brady Quinn, Jonas Knox with the hair. Something's
got to stop around here. Enough is enough. I'm shaking
my head to Lorena.

Speaker 3 (19:14):
We will.

Speaker 1 (19:14):
We will get into that for you coming up here
in just a couple of moments from now.

Speaker 3 (19:20):
Just stink all the time. I don't know. You know,
don't you be a normal person who doesn't smell Lee.
I just.

Speaker 1 (19:27):
I don't get it. Here's what I do get that.
It's time for the.

Speaker 5 (19:32):
Tire rack play the day, the two to one and
Old Tommy bless it tosses the bad that ball is
wak on to the batter side. We got our Unicorn
sunning in Los Angeles. Two strikeouts in the top of
the first and they go ahead, blast in the bottom
of the.

Speaker 1 (19:52):
First two one dodgers the blowtorch A five seventy LA

(20:13):
So Lee wanted to be a gentleman. Hey, Lee, he's
got gas issues this morning, and he decided to walk
out of the studio with Lorraine of the production studio
to let it fly. And the problem is, he goes, well,
I did it in the hallway. But it's the hallway.

(20:35):
Everybody has to pass through. There's a hallway over on
that side. There's a place over by the vending machine.
There's the update studio. There's the bathroom over by the bathroom.

Speaker 6 (20:49):
Hey, when you gotta go, you gotta go wait. I
gotta go stand over there and wait for it to come.

Speaker 3 (20:53):
And that would be the gentleman thing to do. I
did the gentleman thing.

Speaker 6 (20:57):
I went all the way over there and I was
able to squeak one out before the feeling passed.

Speaker 3 (21:03):
I mean, Lorna doesn't do that to you, does she. Nope,
she probably doesn't.

Speaker 6 (21:07):
I don't know, She's never once done that to you.

Speaker 2 (21:09):
Lee.

Speaker 7 (21:09):
And besides that hallway one that just happened, Jonas, what
about seven minutes before that, you laid three out in
the chair.

Speaker 3 (21:17):
Oh my god.

Speaker 7 (21:20):
And I had I had to play another Jerry Jones
sound so I couldn't leave. So I sat here like
this and then and then I think the worst part
is he has the audacity to keep it in his
pants as he walks over to you, too, because you
know it's lingering in there. God, And that's what I
was like, Hey, he's coming to you.

Speaker 3 (21:38):
I stood in the doorway. I didn't go in. This
is why every time I see you, Lee, I feel
like you have terrible hygiene, because all everyone talks about
for our three hour show, and that portion that's early
in the morning for you is how much you fart.
So I can only imagine about the rest of the day.

Speaker 6 (21:54):
Well, yeah, it's been brewing all night long. And then
I'm up and down. I'm sitting up and down. Okay,
that's what it is.

Speaker 1 (22:04):
It's the old sitting up and down in a chair
that that's really causing the.

Speaker 6 (22:08):
Pro morning routine. You don't got caught, I got coffee.
It's just what it's.

Speaker 3 (22:14):
Contemplate getting surgery. Maybe that would fix your problems.

Speaker 6 (22:17):
I don't go to the doctor.

Speaker 3 (22:18):
What'd you eat last night that led to this?

Speaker 6 (22:21):
I went to Carney's, the Big Yellow the Big Yellow train.

Speaker 3 (22:25):
Chilies.

Speaker 7 (22:26):
You got the chili on the side, No, I got
it onto extra chili if he gets it on the side.

Speaker 3 (22:31):
So chili cheese, I hate it there? All right? Nice?
All right?

Speaker 1 (22:35):
Well, uh that's what That's what we're dealing with here
behind the scenes. So if anybody wonders why, maybe Jerry
Jones sounded a little bit annoyed. He could probably smell
Lee uh all the way from Oxnard yesterday.

Speaker 3 (22:46):
So that's that's the issue.

Speaker 1 (22:48):
But we do have another storyline that is popped up
in the NFL, and this one kind of came out
of nowhere Will Levis. And that's that for Will Levis
and the twenty twenty five season with the Tennessee Titans.
Our friends listening in Nashville right now on the Zone
A decision has been made. Will Levis is going to

(23:10):
have season ending surgery on his right shoulder. He suffered
the ac joint injury against the Dolphins last September. In
a statement from the Titans, they say, quote, we support
his decision to focus on his long term health. He
approached the off season with professionalism and showed clear growth
as a leader. We remain confident in his full recovery.
That from the Tennessee Titans. And the word is that

(23:32):
he started Will Levis started to experience discomfort in mini camp,
and he started seeking out medical advice. And I'm going
to go out on a limb here and say, I
think that discomfort started on Draft night. That's when I
think the discomfort really started for Will Levis. And that's
that and away we go with the Tennessee Titans, and

(23:52):
so much for that quarterback competition that they might have
had going into this upcoming season.

Speaker 3 (23:56):
I mean, look, this hurts them considering the fact that
if you wanted to have a guy who's a veteran
who's still trying to prove himself in this league with
everything on his shoulders, give you know, cam Ward some
time to adjust into the season. If you're Brian Callahan.
You're saying, I don't want to start a rookie. I don't.
I don't want to have to deal with the growing
pains going through a rookie. I'd like him to sit

(24:18):
and watch. That feels off the table now unless they
make a trade for someone else. The timing of this, though,
is what has surprised everyone, and there's gonna be a
ton of people who speculate, you know what exactly is
the motive for doing it now? I will remind people
a little different circumstance. But do you remember Ryan Tannehill

(24:40):
had partially torn his aco. Yeah, and he ended up
trying to play through a practice through the OTAs the
spring portion of it, and they got to a point
where he's like, yeah, I need surgery. I will say this,
almost every single player I know would rather put off
surgery or getting cut to try and play and try

(25:00):
to make it work. And maybe there was a portion
of that. According to reports that is true. He tried
to play, tried to make it work, didn't work out
the way he's hoping for, so he likes to get surgery. Now.
Was this season probably lost for him anyway? Was he
probably gonna get beat out. Was the running on the wall,
of course it was, but I do hate the fact

(25:21):
people are kind of playing that card. We're like, oh,
he's he's wizzing out his quarterback competation. It's like, well, no,
not really. The organization's made a decision where they're moving
on with another quarterback. If he's not the immediate right now,
he's going to be the future. So Will Levis has
to do something that's in his best interest for his future.

(25:42):
So the one thought is, you know, could they have
said to the team hate trade me before a certain
time where that didn't happen before training camp, to give
him a chance to compete somewhere else. Now he's frustrated.
So instead of actually, you know, going through this dog
and pony show where you know the first overall pick
is eventually going to be the he just says, I'm
gonna I'm gonna go and get surgery on my shoulder.

(26:05):
Just prepare for twenty twenty six. That's it's logical. It
makes sense, but again a couple of factors at play.
I just look at him, think, let's not just go
ahead and blame him, call him, you know whatever. People
I've seen calling on social media about you know, shying
away from the competition. He's afraid of competition. Yeah, he's
been competing, like that's what he's been doing. But if

(26:28):
he needs surgery, he needs surgery.

Speaker 1 (26:30):
And also the fact that it happened last September. He
tried to gut through it last year and then it
got to the offseason, and it does make sense. I
think the part that sucks that I look at with
Will Levis is that now he's got a label, and
the label is well, he got a shot with a
team that drafted him, didn't work out. Yeah, he's not
good enough, and so now he finds himself potentially in

(26:52):
this journeyman role. And he's been in the league two years,
Like he wasn't even drafted that long ago. He was
drafted to a team that was not very good. And look,
Pete prisco'es a be a big Will Levis fan and
we'll talk you eat about it, like he loves Will
Levis and he's huge. Look, he's had some some awful turnovers.
Those those have been docu bad picks.

Speaker 3 (27:13):
I mean those are I mean, I'll say this again,
when you sit in the quarterback room and You'll watch
other quarterbacks sometimes and you know, different plays and when
you see them throw interceptions. Contrary to popular belief, there
are good at bad picks. There are there are interceptions
where you could say, all right, that's just you know,
tipball receiver ran the wrong route. You know, it wasn't

(27:34):
in the right spot where he should have been, or
you know, kind of flukey play type thing and quarterback
hit as he threw or something, or even sometimes you
just like all right, like that's that's a great play,
but that that defensive player. Now Will Levis's those were
some awful interceptions, and.

Speaker 1 (27:52):
It's getting his money's worth. I mean, if you're gonna
make one, you know, make it as brutal as possible.
I mean, it was almost making it the case for
like the Will Loves experience experience, you know, I mean
we had the Jamis Winston experience, you know, back when
he was starting in games and you know, who knows.
I mean, someone's gonna get a touchdown. Could be a defense,
could be the offense, but someone's gonna get a touchdown.
It was becoming a little bit of that with Will Levis.

(28:14):
Were going, I know, I'm gonna get one or two
decisions where we're going, what the hell was that? You
remember when we were watching there was a game I
forget what game it was with the Vikings last year
where Minnesota won and they put Sam Donald on their
shoulders in the locker room afterwards, and Kevin O'Connell was

(28:34):
kind of standing in the background just admiring it all. Yeah,
and I remember having the conversations because, well, Kevin O'Connell's
been there, and Sam Donald probably thought he would never
get that opportunity again to have that moment. And Will
Levis kind of finds himself in that spot now to
where now you just turn it over to the football
gods and see whether or not you find yourself with

(28:55):
an opportunity, much like Geno Smith or Sam Donald because
now he's got this label, this reputation, and now his
careers in flux because the organization made a draft pick,
drafted him, gave him a couple of opportunities, and then
moved on to the next guy. And he just finds
himself now in the back of the line.

Speaker 3 (29:14):
Again.

Speaker 1 (29:15):
It's crazy how quick the table turns on a quarterback
in the NFL, Like it's crazy.

Speaker 3 (29:22):
Think about Geno Smith, I mean, he had three years
in Seattle, two of which he passed for over forty
two hundred yards, and it still really wasn't enough to
build up equity with a new owner. I mean, he's
now the starting quarterback for the Las Vegas Raiders and
Pete Carroll, and you could say, well, you know, that

(29:44):
experience with Pete made him desirable to them, So there's
an element of that. But I mean even he after
resurrecting himself at least from what we saw, where he
didn't play his first couple of years in Seattle, and
then he flourishes the first year he gets take over
starting quarterback, you know, gets paid, gets an extension. But

(30:04):
then really it's not cemented in the minds of anyone
out there in Seattle. You look at it and you
just go, all right, I mean, how would any of
these guys be able to overcome and resurrect their career.
I mean, Baker Mayfield's one I think you look at
in Tampa, yeah, where he's probably one of the few
it's legitimately been able to take over in a different organization,

(30:25):
you know, after it was kind of cast it away
and it bounced around for some different teams, now you're
looking at like, okay, there is I mean, you mentioned
Darnold's that's one year deal. Minnesota didn't even bring him
back after arguably one of the better years they've had
since Kirk Cousins.

Speaker 1 (30:42):
It's just crazy how so much of it is outside
of your control. Like you can control your play on
the field, and you know, a play here or there
can determine a game or winner or loss, and Will
Levis has had bad plays, but so much of it
is outside of your control. Because if Tennessee not picking
number one, or they're not you know, whatever the case

(31:04):
may be. Next thing, you know, this conversation, maybe we're
not having it. It's a whole different spin on it.
But it's just wild to think that that guy's time
in the NFL is now up in the air after.

Speaker 3 (31:14):
This amount of That's why.

Speaker 1 (31:16):
Look, I know that people talk about Trey Lance and
they say whatever they want to say about, oh my god,
the forty nine ers lucked out this and that. I
still to this day do not believe Trey Lance got
a real opportunity in San Francisco. I think he was.
He got a couple of shots. There was some injuries,
and they were like, that's that. And then if you
look at it, well, when he played, he wasn't very dude.

(31:37):
He didn't get that many opportunities to play, right, Like
when they finally turned the keys over to him and
they said, all right, you're the starter. He opened up
the year. That was the game in Chicago. That was
literally a monsoon. Nobody was playing well in that game
because nobody could hold onto the ball. And then the
next week he got injured and that was it, like

(31:58):
literally that was it, and you never he never got
his shot again. And he's bounced around the NFL a
little bit. He was with the Cowboys and I forget
who he signed with this offseason off the top of
my head, but it just it's it's crazy to think.
And that's a first round pick. Will Levis ended up going,
you know, on Night two in the second round, and
so now you know, we get to see what happens

(32:19):
with him moving forward. But the cam Ward Era is underway,
and so we were off and running in Tennessee. It

Lap good more than everybody.

Speaker 3 (33:41):
Good morning Jonas, Good morning Brady, guys.

Speaker 6 (33:44):
In case you missed it, last night, something in Major
League Baseball that we haven't seen in more than fifty years.
The Phillies escaped with a three to two win over
the Red Sox and extra innings.

Speaker 3 (33:52):
But it happened off of a crazy play.

Speaker 1 (33:54):
Take a listen, good pitch outside so Susaygi.

Speaker 3 (34:00):
Caught the glove. It would be this game would be
Over's interference on the play after view the call in
the fields.

Speaker 2 (34:07):
Overturned, there is catcher's interference. That was a world of
first face.

Speaker 3 (34:11):
Game over on Catcher's interference. That's right, something we haven't
seen in over fifty years.

Speaker 1 (34:18):
What a pain in the ass. You imagine having money
on that game.

Speaker 3 (34:22):
This is the highlight, lyad. This is what we got
for in case it because the catcher's interference.

Speaker 6 (34:27):
Yeah, something you have, something we've never seen. We were
just a part of history.

Speaker 3 (34:38):
Brady, Yeah, yeah, I feel like that was pretty monumental.

Speaker 1 (34:43):
Fans, Hey, where were you when you heard a play
and it hadn't happen in fifty years? You were right
here with us on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 6 (34:51):
Lee, Let's got Let's keep the baseball fans happy, guys.
Rich Hill returns to the majors for a record fourteenth team.
Will be the oldest active MLB player when he makes
his Royals debut today versus the Cubs.

Speaker 3 (35:04):
How old will he be? Forty five? Okay? Your good
for what's awesome?

Speaker 1 (35:10):
Fourteen major League Baseball teams? What what are rich Hill's
career earnings? If you had to guess, if you if
you just had to h off the top of your head,
got it, what like one hundred and fifty million? You
would think? I mean, he said he's had a pretty
pretty decent career. He was a top piccher half that
seventy five? All right, well, listen, I just love.

Speaker 3 (35:37):
What Jonas goes on. These might have overshot random thoughts.
Do you have that of zero research or like anything behind.

Speaker 1 (35:43):
That I just was thinking of.

Speaker 3 (35:44):
Then when you're way off, you just go, oh, all right,
well yeah, I mean a I'm just saying you do
this probably once every couple of weeks.

Speaker 1 (35:54):
It popped up in the top of my head.

Speaker 3 (35:55):
I know there's but there's always something that pops up,
and then you'll give your kind of take on and
you'll be way off. Yeah, but you know what would
Rich'll make like four million? Huh No, about two hundred
so was half that.

Speaker 1 (36:08):
Hey, sorry for giving the guy a little bit more
credit than he deserves financially.

Speaker 3 (36:12):
Do you think he bothers learning anyone's names? No team
wastes this point. You're forty five, I mean fourteen different teams.
There's a lot of a lot of things going on there.

Speaker 1 (36:21):
I mean he's like twenty plus years older than some
of his teammates on the Royals. That's uh, those are
two different worlds, two different worlds. But congratulations to rich Hill,
and hopefully he gets teed off tonight because last night
Wrigley turned into a bandbox. Embarrassing performance by the Cubs

(36:44):
last night, Not that I care, but I'm just saying,
embarrassing performance.

Speaker 6 (36:49):
What else we got, lee, guys, the the hot young
romance of the summer. That would be Klay Thompson and
Meghan d Stallion. Well Shack on his Big Shach podcast
was talking about it along with Mike Tyson and says
he's given them a shell f life of six weeks
that they won't make it past the summer. You guys
agree with that? Over under of six weeks for Klay Thompson.

Speaker 3 (37:09):
Very negative. Let's say, how can how do we call
that the relationship of the summer that's only six weeks long?
That's what do we live in Alaska? I guess that
is a long summer is in Alaska.

Speaker 1 (37:23):
By the way, I heard, I thought Tom Brady and
Sophia Bergara were the summer flame of h I don't know.

Speaker 3 (37:30):
If that was Cardian Stefan. Oh, no, one cares about
that real quick. Going back to Tom Brady and Sophia
of Argara, are they really together? That was a rumor.

Speaker 6 (37:40):
It was said from sources close to them to page
six that they are enjoying each other's company this summer.

Speaker 3 (37:46):
I mean this is the uh the actress? Correct, Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Is she older than he is? I think so? Yeah?
Huh look at old Tom.

Speaker 1 (37:57):
I think she's uh swung the other way there.

Speaker 3 (37:59):
Yeah, he's what forty seven scougars are coming? Yeah, all right,
that's not too big of a guy, all right, six
years Well no, but he was dating like a twenty
four year old model before that.

Speaker 1 (38:13):
So yeah, he's not Leonardo DiCaprio, where he's got a
type and it's got to be within this age range.
I had a buddy who had a dating site like that,
Like he had on a dating site you can pick
your age range. And he was twenty two to death
like he didn't care, like like sixty seventy, did not care.
Whatever he could get his hands on, he was okay with.

(38:36):
So tom Brady's uh got himself a nice little thing. Boy,
he's gonna have his hands full if he's hanging out
with her. Hey, big fan of both of their careers.
I'm a massive fan that's really impressed. He's got Sydney
Screeney waiting on standby too.

Speaker 3 (38:54):
Yeah, wasn't that I thought the rumored relationship.

Speaker 4 (38:57):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (38:57):
And then sources close to her say she's enjoying her
single left. She just got out of a long term relationship. Lee.

Speaker 3 (39:02):
If you had to guess, what did those two have
in common? I don't know who.

Speaker 6 (39:08):
Tom Brady and Sidney Sweeney or Servia and Sidney Sweety. Yeah,
they're very gifted actresses. Come on, they're very gifted. They're
very gifted. Uh yeah, Lee, stand up well endowed actresses.

Speaker 3 (39:26):
By the way, what else we got, Lee.

Speaker 6 (39:31):
Guys, in case he missed it, Philip Rivers, he's back
back with the Chargers, signed a one day contract so
he could retire a Charger. Of course, he last played
for the Colts. So the famous one day contract, which
does that even mean anything like retiring?

Speaker 3 (39:46):
Like just so you can officially, you know, retire with
the team that you feel most partial to.

Speaker 1 (39:52):
By the way, he wasn't bad with the Colts. They
wanted him back. I remember there was speculation about whether
or not he was going to come back for another year,
and he was like, man, I'm good.

Speaker 3 (39:58):
They just missed the playoffs. They lose.

Speaker 1 (40:00):
They made it and they lost to the Bills.

Speaker 3 (40:05):
But but it was.

Speaker 1 (40:06):
Competitive, and I think the point spread was like six,
because I remember.

Speaker 3 (40:09):
I had money on is the bottom line?

Speaker 1 (40:13):
I think I pushed. I think I pushed. I remember
I was cutting up our Christmas tree listening to it.

Speaker 3 (40:21):
On the radio. What what Yeah, cut up the.

Speaker 1 (40:25):
Christ Yeah, we have small trash cans, so you got
to cut it up into pieces to get rid of it.

Speaker 3 (40:30):
What yeah.

Speaker 1 (40:31):
Welcome to California.
