Speaker 1 (00:00):
Two Pros and a cup of Joe.
Speaker 2 (00:01):
Fox Sports Radio, LaVar Arrington, Brady Quinn, Jonas Knox with
you here. Coming up on this Thursday edition, we are
going to talk about more drama in South Beach to
a tugabay loa trying to walk back some comments, but
apparently in the back they were shouting, shut up, stupid.
We're also going to have a conversation about Week seven
(00:21):
in the NFL kicking off and Cincinnati is the AFC
North all but over? And what the hell are they
doing with the field conditions in Pittsburgh. We'll get into
that for you. Apparently there was a major revelation involving
YouTube TV to one person on the show. We've got
another edition of In case you missed it, and boy
did it get awkward with Jonathan Gannon of the Cardinals,
(00:42):
and that Jeremiah Love Notre Dame running back, one of
the best players in the country, stops by, and we've
got another edition of The Leftovers. It's all yours coming
up next here, Two Pros and a cup of Joe
on a Thursday, Fox Sports Radio, and away we go.
(01:06):
Two Pros and a cup of Joe. Fox Sports Radio,
LaVar Arrington, Brady Quinn, Jonas Knox with you here. You
can listen to this show as always on the iHeartRadio app.
You can find us on hundreds of affiliates all across
the country and wherever you are making us a part
of your Thursday morning, we appreciate you doing so, and
we're going to take you all the way up until
nine am Eastern times, six o'clock Pacific, And a good
(01:31):
morning morning to you and yours as we get ready
for the kickoff of week seven in the NFL AFC
North Battle. Yeah, and the clock is ticking on anybody
else and wants to make something of that division with
(01:52):
the Pittsburgh Steelers, a five and a half point favorite
currently on DraftKings going into this game later on tonight
with the Cincinnati Bengals, it's a rap if Cincinnati loses
this game, if they.
Speaker 3 (02:06):
Love really like you're already thrown in the talent.
Speaker 2 (02:09):
This whole thing, because Lamar Jackson is the only thing
that makes that division interesting, that race. Joe Burrow is
not going to be back in time. It's going to
be another two months. The Browns are awful, and Pittsburgh
feels like they're finding a groove.
Speaker 3 (02:24):
Can we talk about Pittsburgh for a second though?
Speaker 4 (02:26):
Yeah, Oh well no, I just I mean, I think
we were all acknowledge they're the top of the AFC North,
They're in position to win the division, which would you know,
warrant them a home playoff spot.
Speaker 3 (02:39):
There's no doubt Rogers has given them a lift offensively.
Speaker 5 (02:43):
The question becomes, you know this, this Steelers team has
been a playoff team, been a winning team before.
Speaker 3 (02:53):
It's more about like, can they make a run.
Speaker 5 (02:55):
Do you feel like with what we've seen so far
from the Pittsburgh Steelers that once they get into the
playoffs they can do more than just be a one
and done, Like they can actually make a run and
win some games.
Speaker 3 (03:06):
Do you do you.
Speaker 5 (03:06):
Feel like Rogers has given that lift on offense? Because
because that's ultimately what it's about. Like as much as
we want to say that, you know they went after
Rogers because you know, maybe there's a thought that with
some of these organizations. I mean, we saw us with
Mike Vrable the Titans, it got to a point where
they're just like, ah, maybe it's just time for someone new.
Speaker 3 (03:27):
And I don't know if the Steelers feel that way
or not about Mike Tomlin.
Speaker 5 (03:30):
I think if they do, to me, that's idiotic because
he's one of the best coaches in the NFL, you know,
maybe an NFL history. But you do get the sense
there's some sort of pressure of like, where's this thing going?
Speaker 6 (03:45):
Right?
Speaker 7 (03:47):
It has been a build up to that, But I
feel as though the way they're playing right now is
probably quieted that that type of tone. I think it's
quieted that is quieted down quite a bit bit, actually,
and I think it's morphing into excitement and and look, listen,
I'll be the first one to say I didn't. I
(04:09):
have been living outside of Pittsburgh for quite some time,
so my my feelings as a Pittsburgh Steelers fan are
are removed when I was there.
Speaker 5 (04:20):
Well, that's why you were a big fan of this year, right, Well,
I'm not a big expectations.
Speaker 7 (04:25):
I didn't have big expectations. I still I still in
my heart, like kind of to your your question, in
my heart, I'm not sure what type of a team
this really is. I mean, they they you know that
it's a quality win against what the Vikings. I mean,
(04:45):
do they have any other quality wins on their on
their resume.
Speaker 2 (04:51):
I don't know if there's a lot of teams in
the NFL that do have quality wins at this point.
Speaker 1 (04:54):
I just I know this.
Speaker 7 (04:57):
I know the Seattle Seahawks continue you to surprise people
in terms of maybe how good they are. They beat
the Steelers, so that could have been two quality wins
for them. They don't have like a great resume of
teams like the Patriots. If they played the Patriots today
(05:18):
versus the Patriots they played in Week three, is it
a different game.
Speaker 2 (05:24):
What I would say is the first couple of weeks
of the year, the defense for Pittsburgh did not look great.
It just like that was the part that I was
more surprised at that, well, this doesn't appear to And
since then, they've kind of found a groove and they're
getting after the quarterback and it feels more like the
Pittsburgh Steeler defense were used to. And I just think
(05:44):
they're ramping up. Man, Like, I don't know.
Speaker 7 (05:46):
When you say the Pittsburgh Steelers defense you're used to.
What the fact that they were able to stop the
Browns dominant dominant that they were able to stop the
brown No.
Speaker 2 (05:55):
But that's the thing, Like this is all based on
who they've played. And if you go back to the
Seattle who was it Caleb Johnson who just let the
ball go by him that resulted in a touchdown for Seattle,
like on the kickoff, he just forgot the rules. And
then you know that one win side was that was
probably a game they should have won. I'd look at
them and I go Rogers, And this was always the conversation.
(06:18):
They were a playoff team last year, but it was
could you get enough production from the passing game to
look at them as a legitimate candidate to win a
game or two or more in the playoffs?
Speaker 1 (06:29):
And I think you can now. I think they.
Speaker 7 (06:31):
Will know that once they play a team like Green Bay,
once they get to a red hot Colts team. They
have green Bay, the Colts, and the Chargers in consecutive weeks.
To me, that's when you're going to find out to
answer the question can they make a run in the playoffs?
Speaker 1 (06:51):
I think to.
Speaker 7 (06:52):
See them in a three game stretch where it's three
real teams that they're playing against, we're going to find
out a lot about the Pittsburgh Steelers football team. That's
what I believe. I don't believe we find out who
they are this week, this game against the against the Bengals.
I don't I don't see that being a defense. I
(07:12):
don't see what.
Speaker 8 (07:14):
Just because it's AFC North, you know this crws and
and Flaco Flacco is familiar and probably they will give
him some easy things to integrate.
Speaker 7 (07:24):
He might it could be a trap game. It makes
for an interesting.
Speaker 9 (07:31):
Day.
Speaker 1 (07:31):
I don't know that.
Speaker 5 (07:33):
Walking in Sue so look, it's like Spider Man slinging
around there.
Speaker 1 (07:37):
Dang slang that way I heard back in the day.
Speaker 2 (07:42):
Lamar was called the the Makita of defensive players in
college in the NFL, speaking of which Makita tools are
built for the pros early with tools built the last
job after job, year after year. When the job calls
for the best call on makida available at the home depot,
CROs get more done. So what is gonna take to
get you back? In full support of the Steelers organization
(08:06):
and the Pittsburgh Steelers is a franch.
Speaker 7 (08:07):
I am always in full support of the Pittsburgh Steelers
as a fan.
Speaker 2 (08:11):
If they go out tonight and burry Cincinnati on the
road on a short.
Speaker 1 (08:17):
Week, I'll be happy for them as a fan.
Speaker 7 (08:20):
As an analyst, I still will have questions because I
don't believe this is the same Bengals team. I know
for a fact it's not the same Bengals team that
you have when there's Joe Burrow and involved so and
they've proven that they're not that good of a team
without Joe Burrow. So while I have positive thoughts about
(08:46):
what what Flacco can do for them, I still don't
believe that's gonna be enough. I don't think that's going
to be enough. I think this is a I think
it could be close.
Speaker 5 (08:57):
I think it could could be Hendrickson being out too.
By the way, like this is if you're the Bengals,
this is kind of why you're sin of saying like, yeah,
we're concerned about getting a long term deal, Like there's
a reason why we just kind of agree to, you know,
one year, pay him, you know a bit more, you know,
pay him a premium for this year. But he's at
(09:19):
that age. The production has been phenomenal. We just don't
know if it's going to continue. And then for a
big divisional game like this, there you go. I mean,
that's the unfortunate reality. And I hate even talking about
it because I you know I'm a former player, but
when you think about from the owner's standpoint, like this
is your greatest fear. And it's not that you know,
(09:42):
it's not that bad of an injury or anything, but
it could be and he could miss significant time. If
there's a hip injury, that gets worse. So after all
the talk and everything this offseason, and this is where
they've kind of wound up. This is the concern you
have as a franchise where you sign a guy to
that in these missing games, especially divisional games that are
(10:04):
obviously meaningful for you to have any sort of chance
of making the playoffs.
Speaker 7 (10:08):
Do you take that stance against Joe Burrow because he's
been hurt. Yeah, he's been hurt a lot. I think
at some point you would, you would get there. But
it's a little different only because he's the quarterback. He's
the guy who's taking you to a super Bowl already.
You know, I think Burrow might might turn around it.
Speaker 5 (10:31):
It might be like what he takes against Cincinnati if
he's if he's not able to stay healthy because they
can't protect him and you know he's getting hit left.
You know, all those things that might mount, you know,
add up to the point where he says, maybe I
should look elsewhere. If you guys are gonna protect me
or build an offense line, it out around me.
Speaker 2 (10:51):
So this, according to NBC Sports, that these Steelers have
put together a string of four straight games with five
or more sacks in team history, or they've done it
for the last three games.
Speaker 1 (11:03):
If they do it again tonight, it'll be.
Speaker 2 (11:04):
The first time in team history they've had five or
more sacks and four straight games. Think about that Steele Curtain,
all those great players, all those guys you grew up with,
and we could be watching history coming up later on.
Speaker 7 (11:16):
Yeah, I mean Greg Lloyd and Kevin Green, that was
one of the most prolific. I mean, hell Debou and
Joey Porter. That's pretty sick too.
Speaker 2 (11:28):
Otherways, Levon Kirkland any relation to the Kirkland brand at Costco?
Speaker 5 (11:32):
No, No, yes, I think it's the exact same family.
Like I really think they're directly related. Yeah, no, kidding, No,
great question. Yeah no, why do you dismiss it as
no because they're not?
Speaker 2 (11:44):
Hey, Patrick, can you look up whether or not Levon
Kirkland has any relation to the Kirkland brand at Costco?
If there's like if that's tied in there like at
some point.
Speaker 1 (11:53):
Yeah, you get it, you got it.
Speaker 5 (11:55):
Let me check Patrick real quick too, just so you know,
we're evaluating how fast the us bons will get from you,
because there's been people in that spot before where it
would potentially take like two days to get like it
would be like Tuesday next week, and they'd say, hey,
by the wedding, Levon Kirkland is not related.
Speaker 1 (12:15):
To the family.
Speaker 2 (12:17):
Hey, what was the name of Lavon Levon Kirkland. Two
segments later, what was it?
Speaker 1 (12:22):
You said? Lavon?
Speaker 3 (12:22):
Right?
Speaker 1 (12:23):
Yes, is that Kirkland with a C or a k K? Yeah?
Oh god.
Speaker 3 (12:27):
So you're being evaluated right now. Patrick, I want you
to know that.
Speaker 9 (12:30):
I'm on his Wikipedia page right now and looking further
seeing I'm not seeing anything on Costco yet.
Speaker 1 (12:34):
By I'm looking.
Speaker 3 (12:36):
You know what, Just do this.
Speaker 5 (12:38):
Don't don't waste any more time doing that because there's
no chance he's related to that that family Jonas just
for some reason probably was we would go to late
night grocery shopping last night.
Speaker 3 (12:47):
Is that what you did?
Speaker 7 (12:47):
Now?
Speaker 1 (12:47):
I don't go to Costco?
Speaker 3 (12:50):
Why do you go to cost just you know.
Speaker 5 (12:54):
Dude, I ordered a bunch of stuff where I feel
like now, like we could hunker down, you know what
I'm saying, Like if there's some sort of like bad
thing that happens, of like we got plenty of drinks,
like my kids will be fine, absolutely fine, like juice
boxes and you can do it and you get such
a good discount if you buy in.
Speaker 1 (13:12):
Bulk like that.
Speaker 7 (13:13):
Costco named named the private label the Kirkland Brand in
nineteen ninety five right around They named it based off
of their headquarters that was located in Kirkland, Washington at
the time. So it's not even coming in there. It's
(13:33):
not even related to a person. It's a it's an area.
Speaker 2 (13:36):
And Kirkland, Washington probably renamed their city name after Kirkland.
Speaker 1 (13:42):
You see it, all, I see that he grew up
in South Carolina. I don't think so.
Speaker 5 (13:48):
Kirkland's actually an awesome area there in Washington too. If
you've never been, just saying I never been, by the way, LaVar,
thank you for coming in Patrick.
Speaker 3 (13:56):
Where are you on that one?
Speaker 1 (13:57):
Pal?
Speaker 6 (13:58):
No?
Speaker 1 (13:58):
I literally I was looking up.
Speaker 9 (14:00):
I wanted to cross some te's and dots of irs first,
But no, they're saying he's unrelated to it.
Speaker 7 (14:04):
Yeah, all right, thank you, thank you, thank you.
Speaker 1 (14:08):
That's not bad. Much better than segment. Yeah, got axwer
to the same segment.
Speaker 3 (14:15):
That that was actually pre legit.
Speaker 9 (14:16):
Good.
Speaker 2 (14:17):
Well, listen, hopefully this is a competitive game. Hopefully we've
got Joe Flacco can can dust off the the good
old days. I think he's got a five hundred record
against the Steelers in his career.
Speaker 1 (14:29):
He's played him a lot throughout the course of his career.
I got a lot of weapons on this one though.
Speaker 3 (14:34):
Yeah, he's just slinging around telling you.
Speaker 7 (14:36):
It could be a trap game for the Steelers. It
could be.
Speaker 3 (14:40):
Remember this is the icy Hot Bowl anyway.
Speaker 1 (14:42):
Yeah, so both old.
Speaker 5 (14:43):
Quarterbacks gonna be over there sitting on the bench, rub
it icy hot all over their legs and back and
the shoulders and arms everything else.
Speaker 1 (14:50):
Does y hot actually work? Yes?
Speaker 7 (14:52):
I guess LeVar still uses it today. No, I don't. Well,
every once in ale that's a lie. I use it
on my toe not too long ago. The roll on
the roller on your toe, Yeah, you know, I get that.
Speaker 3 (15:06):
I thought you told me to use it on your back.
Speaker 7 (15:08):
Probably that too, Yeah, probably probably rolled it on the
back to those two areas. They'll get me what do
you mean roll on you know, like there's a oh okay, yeah, yeah,
use it on your toe work. I mean I feel
like it.
Speaker 1 (15:25):
Did, because.
Speaker 5 (15:27):
Do not get that stuff on your hands or in
your is that anywhere else you touch?
Speaker 1 (15:32):
Yeah, that's gonna be a problem, all right, Yeah, you.
Speaker 5 (15:35):
Know where sometimes you got to rearrange the fruit basket
down there, like you gotta be you gotta be careful.
Speaker 1 (15:42):
Or if you or if you like and then yeah,
don't forget about yourself.
Speaker 2 (15:52):
That's I know exactly what you're talking about.
Speaker 1 (15:57):
Yeah, I'm sure you do. Like Serrano. Yeah, you cut
up Serrano's without gloves on. You have to use the.
Speaker 2 (16:03):
Bathroom after you think you wash your hands good enough afterwards.
Next thing you know, hot baby, Yeah, you're downs bathroom
is all.
Speaker 1 (16:09):
I mean, how do you know that? Lorena? The same idea,
what the juice is getting in your eyes? You can
your eyes after?
Speaker 3 (16:27):
Why do you do this every show? Lorena?
Speaker 1 (16:29):
Oh my god?
Speaker 3 (16:31):
Doesn't it doesn't always have to be like this, Lorena.
Speaker 1 (16:34):
Oh my gosh.
Speaker 3 (16:36):
Every every time, every time.
Speaker 5 (16:42):
It goes to break, the next thing, she's gonna be like, no,
I was cutting up big plan.
Speaker 1 (16:48):

from Alajandro.

Kirk, Blue Jays Radio Network on the call. That is

way tire buying it should be in about we'll call
(21:06):
it twenty minutes from now. We are going to tell
you about a very awkward moment that took place in
the NFL yesterday. But here's what's not awkward. Yeah, and
Brady's made mentioned of this earlier this week. Yeah, YouTube
TV multiview bad ass.
Speaker 3 (21:24):
Yeah, Jonas, it's so welcome.
Speaker 1 (21:27):
Twenty twenty five.
Speaker 3 (21:28):
Jonas.
Speaker 1 (21:28):
Let me say this, well, give the twenty two.
Speaker 3 (21:31):
Did you just did you just sign up with the subscription?
Is that why you're You're just now saying this.
Speaker 1 (21:35):
No.
Speaker 2 (21:35):
So I obviously watched it with the Sunday ticket package,
like watching through it. But normally I'm like, all right, well,
just you know, there's one game on, I'll check the
scores on this and that. I said, you know what,
let me go in because I wasn't sure if you
could build I wasn't sure if you could build your
own multiview to whatever you want. And so last night
(21:57):
I got greedy, like you know what, yeah, Sam Houston
State utep the side of that with a little watchware.
Speaker 3 (22:06):
Oh yeah like.
Speaker 2 (22:11):
That, Like my son's like, hey, can we watch the
Celtics Rafters preseason game? Oh, no problem, that's on the
menu too, Like we had it all all yeah, of
course Blue Jays Mariners, like you could just go through.
And I don't know if that was in existence when
it first started because in the NFL, like one of
(22:32):
the problems people had with the Sunday Ticket package is
that you couldn't really dictate your multiviews, Like there was
just certain ones that were put up on the screen.
And then now they've just given you the ability. I
think the multiview pays for the subscription by itself, Like
that's worth the seventy whatever dollars it is a month
(22:52):
or for the year, whatever the price is, I think
it pays for itself based on that ability alone. You
don't need to leave the house.
Speaker 1 (22:59):
Wow, it's great.
Speaker 5 (23:01):
Can I ask everyone else on the show, like, just
let me know if you've known about the s multi
view for a while.
Speaker 1 (23:09):
I assume you've known I have known about it. I
have Patrick. Have you want to take this away from
Jonas though?
Speaker 3 (23:17):
Patrick, have you known about this? No?
Speaker 1 (23:19):
Actually, this is newer to me, This is newer to you.
Speaker 3 (23:22):
Yes, there's another caveman for Yourea. Well, Loreda probably doesn't
even have any clue what's going on.
Speaker 1 (23:29):
Just keeps the peppers away. Jason Kelsey, Right, he does
the commercial for YouTube and he's sitting on the couch
and he doesn't stop screaming for the whole That is
very true. That's very good, very good. Right now, thank you,
very good? Up on sports guys, you'd be shocked. Oh god,
really yeah, let's not get carried away.
Speaker 5 (23:50):
Well that's three of three of the five of us
have known about this now for a while, which.
Speaker 3 (23:55):
Jonahs like, like, why are you just now coming this realization?
Speaker 5 (24:00):
Okay, how have you how have you worked in sports
talk radio and you have not figured out what YouTube
TV has offered now for years?
Speaker 2 (24:08):
Okay, so I will I will repeat it because you
clearly weren't listening.
Speaker 3 (24:13):
I was listening. You only knew from the NFL standpoint,
now this is existing.
Speaker 2 (24:18):
My point was I knew that it existed. I just
didn't know you could pick whatever you wanted. I knew,
I knew that it was there, and so that's why
did you know that?
Speaker 1 (24:28):
I didn't know.
Speaker 2 (24:28):
I didn't know that was an option because I thought
it was like the NFL Sunday ticket to where the
first couple of years, the first year, you couldn't pick
the setting game.
Speaker 5 (24:37):
If you want YouTube show, there is a thing called
Spotify where you can pick what music you listen to.
Speaker 2 (24:44):
Now you don't have to just play your CDs. Do
you really see, because that's the thing. I'm more of
an iHeart guy, and you can't stream it through your
car too the internet. But I'm an iHeart guy. So
that's so that's why I don't really know that the
Spotify stuff is.
Speaker 1 (24:57):
I'm not really sure what you're talking about there.
Speaker 5 (24:59):
Well, there's correlation with CDs and then play music and
all that kind of stuff. You can do the same
thing on iHeart, but it's a little different, right because
you're more playing stations and all that.
Speaker 1 (25:07):
Yeah, I mean I'm a big r.
Speaker 5 (25:08):
That's one of an Apple's door in just comparison, even
trying to kind of be that guy.
Speaker 1 (25:11):
No, I listened to it. I don't know, show me
the money, shame whatever.
Speaker 2 (25:18):
You want, a shame, whatever you want. The point is
a point you didn't have, is that you didn't have
this for the longest time. And in watching it last night,
I'm like, now that I know you can pick and
choose whatever you want, your whole opens up doors.
Speaker 1 (25:37):
I could dig. Man, it opens up doors. Listen, Brom.
I'm happy for you. Yeah. Thanks, I'm happy for your discovery.
Thank you man.
Speaker 5 (25:45):
Yeah, I'm happy to I mean, it's been around for
at least two going on three years.
Speaker 1 (25:49):
That's fine.
Speaker 5 (25:52):
I mean, it's you're a cave man bro. Like, there's
so many things I feel like people could teach you
to be.
Speaker 1 (25:58):
Like really really, I'm like that I'm not. I'm not.
Speaker 5 (26:03):
Yeah, but you know, more like I'll send stuff like
I send some of the Jonas of the day on
like AI and he just he just dismissed.
Speaker 3 (26:10):
He's like, I don't know whatever, Okay, Like I'm like, no,
this is like there's a lot of things happening now.
Speaker 7 (26:14):
There's a lot of yeah, there are, I mean, and
it seems like it's going into fast forward lately, like
this whole stuff.
Speaker 1 (26:23):
It's crazy. Man.
Speaker 5 (26:24):
Side note on the Delaware jackson Ull State game last night,
They've got a wide receiver at Jacksonville State. He's six eight,
six foot eight, like my My daughters and I were
actually watching Baltiview watching that game and me too.
Speaker 3 (26:44):
At one point.
Speaker 5 (26:45):
When they were throwing on this corner, like you get
the head coach there, Delawar was getting irate because he's
like yo, like the guy the kid was like basically
boxing him out, and he was like at some point
he got to be offensive pa, which I think they
did call him for OPI once, but they never I
don't think they ever end up playing a ball, which
is a travesty. If you have a receiver six' eight
and you can't throw up a jump all to, him
(27:07):
you have problems with your off.
Speaker 7 (27:09):
Which makes you, wonder which makes you you, know the
uh the liner tush pushes is on television right. Now but,
anyway the bush push or the tushush the, bush the
bushy tushy.
Speaker 3 (27:22):
Pushy it's twenty years, buddy that's gotting a lot of
run right.
Speaker 1 (27:24):
Now it's getting a lot of. Run, HEY i won
money On Notre dame that.
Speaker 7 (27:28):
Game, Yeah unie's was looking clean, Though, bro that darkopp yeah,
YEAH i, agree was popping. Off what were we talking?
About YouTube tv? Receiver yeah that's.
Speaker 4 (27:41):
Right.
Speaker 1 (27:41):
Yeah see, hey their defense was hitting them hens. Too.
Speaker 7 (27:45):
Bro did you see the one hit that the linebacker
had and the safety when they hit him and they
flipped him and.
Speaker 2 (27:51):
Like, dang you know the best part about that is
out there. HITTING i was able to watch and watch
The Celtics raptors that's, crazy, man and watch.
Speaker 1 (27:59):
THE mlb postseason and the state utab and a half.
Speaker 3 (28:04):
Years that that YouTube tv is.
Speaker 7 (28:06):
OFF i thought back to The Notre DAME usc game
rivalry going. ON i saw the post to you guys
throwing your helmets into the trash.
Speaker 1 (28:17):
Cans you know you know what's funny about?
Speaker 3 (28:19):
That do you know when that?
Speaker 1 (28:20):
Was when was this last? Year last? Year that was
a year? Ago did you post you posted?
Speaker 2 (28:26):
It?
Speaker 7 (28:26):
RIGHT i, thought you posted it. Now somebody posted it, yesterday.
Speaker 5 (28:31):
Yeah and then and then everyone reposted. It but the
funny part is is people acted like that was this.
Speaker 3 (28:38):
Year that was last.
Speaker 7 (28:38):
YEAR i didn't even, LIKE i didn't even give it any,
thought like any more thought than that other THAN i,
know you guys are playing this, week AND i know
the background between you And, Lioner SO i thought that
was a pretty cool. Video BUT i was in my,
mind like you do, KNOW i would fight over somebody
throwing our helmet into a trash. Can, YEAH i was
(29:01):
just Throwing, YEAH i was like throwing helmets like you,
know quarterback, stuff like we're just going to throw our helmets.
Speaker 1 (29:09):
Away and, no it was a whole.
Speaker 3 (29:10):
Segment we were kind of doing that with all of.
Speaker 7 (29:12):
It explain it to. Me SO i cannot judge you
because well it's.
Speaker 3 (29:15):
Been a, year BUT i believe.
Speaker 5 (29:18):
We were trying to trash like which teams would not
make the, Playoff AND i think at that point in,
time you, KNOW i was very adamant that LIKE sc
was not a playoff, team which they were they, were
and Then matt got up setting through notre names in
but they ended up being a playoff.
Speaker 3 (29:34):
Team then playing for the national.
Speaker 5 (29:35):
Championships so now we did a similar activity this year In,
utah ironically because we had back To utah this, week
but WE i don't think we Had Southern calist part
of it after. THERE i don't think we had them
as part of the, conversation but we did Have Notre.
DAME i think we were trying to eliminate like which
teams had lost early and still had a shot to
(29:58):
make it into the college football. Playoff but, anyway twenty
years since The bush, push it's funny reading about it
because you, know going through the emotions like of that
game and even in the moment like it was obviously illegal.
Play the refs afterwards admitted it was illegal. Play but
(30:19):
as we've seen From, dean which how dismissive he can
be sometimes with different, things the reps are very dismissive
with THE pac ten at that, time repstra very dismissive about.
It there's kind of, like, yeah but no one really calls,
it and it's, like well.
Speaker 3 (30:34):
Does he get in without the?
Speaker 5 (30:35):
Push, No so like it kind of made a difference
in that particular play of that, game which is always
the funny thing to me outside of the operations of
the play before you, Know liner was hit in, bounds
ball was fumbled at of, bounds and the rule is.
Speaker 3 (30:53):
That the clock should not.
Speaker 5 (30:55):
Stop you can't be saved by the ball going out
of bounds offensively if you are struck and fumble in.
Bounce so that was the first, thing very advantageous spot
to which obviously led.
Speaker 3 (31:08):
To the quarterback.
Speaker 5 (31:09):
Sneak but it's the whole thing is just kind of
like all, RIGHT i, mean look it. Was it was
a great play By reggie and wives of him to do.
IT i would my running back would push me in
the end zone too IF i couldn't get in on
a quarterback. Sneak but at the end of the, day
at the, time it was an illegal, play which is
why it kind of still lives the way it. Does
(31:30):
and obviously that game and the way it went back
and forth it still.
Speaker 1 (31:34):
Hurts.
Speaker 5 (31:35):
Well the difference FOR us is we would have played
for a national championship if we win that.
Speaker 3 (31:39):
Game you, know so we were in up.
Speaker 5 (31:41):
Finishing we were like third or fourth and Played Ohio
state and The fiesta bo that, year but.
Speaker 3 (31:46):
That would have been like our that was our best.
Speaker 5 (31:49):
Team Dur my four years there and that would have
been our best shot at trying to play for one
and win, one and, again who.
Speaker 3 (31:56):
Knows if you get.
Speaker 5 (31:56):
THERE i don't know that anyone was Beating texas And
Vince young that, year but As i've always said, BEFORE
i would have loved the chance to do it and
play it. Now after Playing Ohio state that year in
The Fiesta, Bowl Ohio state was.
Speaker 3 (32:10):
A better team THAN usc was that.
Speaker 5 (32:11):
Year the best the BEST sc team THAT i played
like during that era was probably the two thousand and four.
Team that team was just like they were unreal like,
defensively offensively the five, team they had a lot of.
Talent their defense wasn't as good that. Year the three
team was probably even better defensively than. Offensively but the
(32:36):
four team was the BEST sc, team uh during that.
Speaker 3 (32:39):
TIME i mean, it and that it blew Out.
Speaker 1 (32:41):
Overhoma, EVER i would say.
Speaker 5 (32:44):
Probably, EVER i think when you look at the, roster
you look at it was, Drafted you look at the
dominance they had that, year like that team was really really.
Speaker 1 (32:52):
Good they Had polamalu on that.
Speaker 3 (32:56):
Team, no that was he was way force. Bun he
was like your.
Speaker 1 (33:00):
Time i'm not older Than troy a little.
Speaker 3 (33:05):
Bit but like he would have been more around that
that a.
Speaker 7 (33:08):
Time, yeah but that was So Ma La luga and
and And clay and.
Speaker 3 (33:15):
Those, guys those guys that's right.
Speaker 1 (33:20):
Four two thousand and for my.
Speaker 7 (33:23):
Bat, YEAH i had a clickout right, there two, thousand
two thousand.
Speaker 1 (33:27):
Four they have like low foot To.
Speaker 5 (33:29):
Tupoo Tarl thomas is a really GOOD dv cornerback for.
Them Lawrence jackson was a really good defensive lineman for.
Them i'm trying to go to kind of list of,
Guys Eric wright who would have been a team and of,
mine who's a second round pick he, Had i've had
a transfer. Out but they had a really really good
team that. YEAR i think they're. UNDEFEATED i don't. AGAIN
(33:50):
i think they Played oklahoma in The National championship game
and they beat the life out of.
Speaker 2 (33:53):
Them all, right, well twenty years, yea it's a long, time.
Man and you know we got somebody coming up later
on that's going to have some thoughts on that game
as well.
Speaker 1 (34:07):
Too oh, Yeah so.
Speaker 5 (34:08):
Well it's a lot's changed, then, Right Like nils now
legal thing and you know it's funny if you look
at like who's been impacted the. Most obviously THE sec
has it's created greater parody and all of, that but
Even southern col like that's a program THAT i think
there was a thought that they'd be able to remain
really competitive in THE nil, era but you look at
(34:30):
how you, know it's really worked out the past few
years and even Since Lincoln rally's got there hasn't really
amounted to them having.
Speaker 3 (34:38):
Success AND i think it goes to show.
Speaker 5 (34:40):
You those Like eras And waves where there was success
and there was whatever going on outside of, it and
recruiting that was going.
Speaker 3 (34:46):
On it's it's created a much more level playing.
Speaker 1 (34:49):
Field it's two pros and a cup Of.

Speaker 9 (38:23):
Man, well, guys in case you missed, it we got.
It we got a good one for us. Here SO
i actually have sound for. This but BEFORE i go into,
that it's About John. Degannon he was asked at a
press conference recently with in lieu of the whole De mercado,
situation with that whole you, know getting fine. THING a
reporter asked, him you, Know, jonathan how do you figure,
(38:45):
out you, know taking the emotion out of the, game,
like you, know when you're coaching and you know? What
he responded, with something.
Speaker 11 (38:52):
Like this hotel earlier in your, career did you have
to start trying to figure out how to take the
motion out of coaching as far as when you when
you have all these injuries and you have all these different.
Speaker 3 (39:05):
Pieces when's the first.
Speaker 5 (39:07):
Time that you can recall it two thousand and seven
when our quarterback went to.
Speaker 1 (39:11):
Jail, damn, coach thank? You it's the?
Speaker 3 (39:19):
Coach thank?
Speaker 1 (39:20):
You is what does it for?
Speaker 9 (39:21):
Me?
Speaker 2 (39:21):
Here, yeah that's a guy who knows he's on the hot.
Speaker 5 (39:27):
Scene we also point out the obvious he's referring to
his time with The Atlanta falcons When Michael vick went
to jail for the legal dog fighting.
Speaker 3 (39:37):
Ring that was what he was.
Speaker 5 (39:40):
Referencing but, man that made its rounds two unon social media.
Speaker 7 (39:46):
Yesterday he clearly hasn't learned to remove his emotions from. Situations.
Speaker 2 (39:53):
Right oh that seems. Warm, yeah that's not that's not
gonna end well for. Him you think they don't look, good, Man,
well they don't look, good AND i don't.
Speaker 1 (40:03):
THINK i don't think.
Speaker 2 (40:05):
He was thrilled With you know, what what was the
quote from the ONE gm RIVAL gm that said he
got his balls cut off in front of the.
Speaker 1 (40:13):
Team find. That so it just feels like that's that's
going in the wrong direction in a. Hurry thank.
Speaker 2 (40:24):
So if you watch the video of, him he's so
matter of, fact it's so uncomfortable and be, like, hey thanks.
Speaker 1 (40:31):
Coach that really did really didn't interview.
Speaker 2 (40:39):
Play just the ending, Again, patrick if you, can all,
right thanks like.
Speaker 1 (40:43):
They didn't, know they didn't know how you react to.
Speaker 13 (40:47):
That thank you all, Right, brady thank, you and.
Speaker 9 (41:02):
Leaves so that, said we got another one, here so
we all know we have a New american, pope, Right Popo.
Speaker 1 (41:08):
Leio so let me tie it in.
Speaker 9 (41:10):
Here he is a White sox, fans as though everybody
kind of. Knows so a little bit of some baseball
rivalry happened just, recently SO i guess he. Was he
was doing in the crowd and someone was chanting to the,
pope hey Go, cubs and you, know waving at. Him
so he responded back In, spanish mind you han pardoddo
(41:31):
and that is In. English they. Lost he was taking
a dig at The Chicago. Cubs cuz, again the pope
is a White sox.
Speaker 2 (41:38):
Fan, yeah he's disqualified from conversation on, that on, basis
on that basis, alone that's.
Speaker 1 (41:44):
It he's a White sox. Fan doesn't.
Speaker 2 (41:45):
Count that's one of the worst teams in baseball. Historically
he's not allowed to throw a.
Speaker 7 (41:50):
Shade he's just doesn't he have to be all the
way neutral and have no sides because he has been
tasked with blessing all of them On god's.
Speaker 1 (42:00):
Side that's, fine you know WHAT i. Mean it's a good.
Speaker 5 (42:02):
Point it's a good. Point like Like Sister jean kind
of became. Polarizing we all loved her for her, fandom
but then you're, like all, right now my team is
playing against. YOU i kind of want to Beat Sister jean's,
ass you, know like you don't want to you want
to adventure.
Speaker 3 (42:16):
That, territory, RIGHT.
Speaker 5 (42:18):
I have to say, it like that's how people took
that can't venture into the sports. World otherwise it gets,
nasty throw their faith to the, side and they're, like,
no the whistle, blew we're in between the.
Speaker 2 (42:31):
Lines anything goes, yeah, yeah oh you, know, somebody let
the pope know that The White sox are forty two
games under five hundred this.
Speaker 1 (42:40):
Year let him know. That see what do you? See?
What he response back with An?
Speaker 2 (42:44):
Italian what a? Joke team's a laughing stock of the.
City and he's sitting there throwing. Shade you said An?
Speaker 1 (42:52):
Italian? Yeah was That? Italian he said In? Spanish? Spanish
oh i should have known. That, oops do, Better, JONAS
i missed those. Vows Ausl, Awago hey whatever you, say,
brother check you? Out was? That check you? Out tomorrow
See poppy
