We celebrate you.
Speaker 3 (02:34):
That was totally wrong.
Speaker 2 (02:35):
Listen.
Speaker 1 (02:36):
You see you said after game two it was over
and Minnesota was going to the next round, and you're correct,
the t Wolves.
Speaker 3 (02:43):
Or well, you know what, we could yet we could
go from there.
Speaker 6 (02:45):
I did.
Speaker 3 (02:46):
I did call it.
Speaker 7 (02:47):
I did.
Speaker 3 (02:48):
I definitely knew the Timberwolves they were going to be
the team to do it. I knew it. I knew
they were team to beat. And you know, thanks, thanks
for giving me them props. There you go.
Speaker 6 (03:00):
I did not think that they could get two in
a row out of them. I really didn't. Then give
them a lot of credit. I mean, Denver mucked it up,
though again I think it was more Denver given away
the series than it was the Timberwolves taking it. But
you got two seven footers, and Gobert at least did
(03:21):
a little bit more than what he has done in
games past. They were going to need a great effort
from the two seven footers if they were going to
get out of that game alive and Anthony does what
Anthony does. But you know, next series it's going to
be interesting to see that matchup between them in Dallas.
(03:42):
It really is, because I feel like Kyrie Irving is
a better version of Murray in this series, and they
struggled with Murray. He was the one that they struggled
the most with, but they were able to neutralize somewhat
a little bit. And when I say somewhat, I mean
(04:04):
very much somewhat Jokic with with with their defensive strategy strategy.
Speaker 3 (04:10):
So you know, I don't know, I don't know.
Speaker 6 (04:13):
I'm I'm I'm curious on this one because I feel
like this could go either way, right, you can turn
this can turn into the start of a conversation of
Anthony Edwards and what his trajectory is depending on how
it all it all plays out, but it's set up
(04:33):
for him to actually be able to win it all.
I think anybody out of the West is going to
be a matchup problem for for the Celtics.
Speaker 7 (04:42):
Yearee? I mean, well, assuming, by the way, the Celtics
are the team that makes it for me, is right, And.
Speaker 3 (04:47):
That's what I'm assuming. I actually thought last night.
Speaker 7 (04:50):
To your point about Denver kind of given the series,
but I thought they kind of gave the game away.
They had a stronghold. It felt like for the whole
first half. The second half at Minnesota just started trip away.
They went on runs, and it wasn't so much to
me like they shut down Jokich or Jamal Murray. It
was like the rest of the bench. I mean, Michael
Porter Junior hasn't shot as well. Cadave was called well,
(05:10):
Pope hasn't shot as well a least for three as
they have in those opportunities, of those moments, it just
felt like when they needed their bench to step up
and get them a little extra help, there was nothing there.
And collectively, I mean Jade McDaniels stepped up in a
big way. Look at some of the other players. Michael
Conley you talked about earlier in the series, the impact
of him being in there and him not being there.
Speaker 3 (05:31):
And what that means.
Speaker 7 (05:33):
I thought the last night's game was an example of
maybe more of the depth that I think the Timberwolves
can have at times too with guys mix in guys
scoring and putting up some points. But it was tremendous
second half really by Minnesota to kind of make the
adjustments order to put themselves in a position out to
go to the NBA Finals if.
Speaker 3 (05:56):
A big if you know, if they can move past
the the Dallas Mavericks. Because the one to your point,
the one two.
Speaker 7 (06:03):
Combination of Kyrie and Luco, Which it's funny when that
first when they first got together, like people were not
sure this was gonna work out. It's worked out pretty dark. Yeah,
Like at the end of the day, like that, they're
one of the better teams in the NBA. They have
two legit amazing scores, and it should be a fun
series to see how this this plays out.
Speaker 1 (06:22):
There was a stretch and the third last night where
Denver seemingly could not hit a shot.
Speaker 3 (06:27):
They could do earlier in the game.
Speaker 7 (06:28):
There was times when like they're missing dunks, Like there's
like two or three separate possessions, like they could not
finish a dunk to score.
Speaker 3 (06:35):
It was unbelievable.
Speaker 1 (06:36):
Neither team really shot all that well. And then you
just saw them, like you said, chip away in the
third quarter, start to get down. And then once they
got that lead, and they just kept finding baskets and
getting stops, and then you know, Jokic was able to
hit a couple of threes, but he couldn't find the
shot from deep and then they got no other help
besides him and Jamal Murray. And so the next thing,
(06:56):
you know, Minnesota goes on the run. And once Anthony
Edwards hit that three in the corner, that was a wrap,
Like that was it. And I think everybody in that
crowd and everybody in that in that place was stunned.
And afterwards, Karl, Anthony Towns and Anthony Edwards actually spoke about,
you know, just sort of their path to get here
and whether or not they feel like they've been through
(07:18):
enough to earn this spot.
Speaker 8 (07:20):
Usually an NBA history says you have to lose and
lose big before you win. What is it about this
team that says we lost last year? Yeah, but that's different.
You have to lose out a bigger stage. Usually teams,
it's the playoffs. We lost last year, we lost the
last two years.
Speaker 3 (07:36):
We got to lose.
Speaker 2 (07:37):
How much you want us to lose lose for twenty years?
Speaker 3 (07:43):
I mean, they're right, true. Why they try to frame
it up like, nah, this wasn't as big, Well you
made it? What this big? We lost in the playoffs.
Why big you know why I was.
Speaker 7 (07:55):
Reading an article because like people in the media want
to feel important, like they really do, Like like the
way they answer asked their question they wanted to be answered,
the way they want to frame it, the way they
want to write about it, talk.
Speaker 3 (08:05):
About it like they wanted to be they wanted to be,
like they want to feel important, like they're a really
important part of the process. It's like you're not, man,
You're just covering it.
Speaker 7 (08:14):
Like go watch the players, go watch the coaches, like
you're just a part of it, man, even for us.
Like I'll be honest, Like I'd said, you guys something
yesterday and I thought to myself, like, dang, that's the
thing I hate about this job is because people think
that like and and maybe you guys different, maybe you
feel different about it, but like people think that, like
(08:35):
we want to be like out there, you want to
feel like that. I'm like, no, I just I love sports.
I love talking about it like I love talking about
with people. I love people I like working with and
I love you too. But I'm just saying like I
don't I don't want to interject, don't want to interject
myself into it, like I'm walking into the game, you know,
in my suit, and I'm acting like the.
Speaker 3 (08:55):
Camera should be on me.
Speaker 2 (08:57):
What are you getting at that happen?
Speaker 6 (09:00):
It was really fun It was really funny, you know.
I made the capture of what is what made it
really funny though, And it looked so true. I mean,
it couldn't have been any more true. That man thought
he was about to suit up to play a game,
the game of his life, by the way, like the
one that was going to find his life.
Speaker 3 (09:21):
You guys could tell the whole story unless you don't
want to.
Speaker 6 (09:23):
I mean, Stephen Ay came walking into the arena like
he was like like he was about to play, Like.
Speaker 7 (09:29):
People were there, they bought the ticket to see him. Like, no, bro,
they're not there to see you. They don't that this
game goes on way beyond you.
Speaker 6 (09:40):
I ain't never gonna knock knock another man's hustle, his swag,
his drip like he came in swagged out, he was
dripped out, like, but he came in like he was,
like they showed him like he was one of the
players coming in to play the game. And come on,
Stephen Nay, you know that that isn't what you need
to be doing being who you are in the media.
(10:02):
You know you be talking your game when you get on,
but you gotta go walking through the stadium like the
arena like you're about to play the game.
Speaker 3 (10:11):
Come on, we know that you're not getting in the game.
Stephen now coaching coaching.
Speaker 1 (10:20):
I like Steven a lot, and he's a Fox Sports
radio He actually did this show in this time slid
if I'm not mistaken years and years ago. And he
works his ass off and deserves everything he gets. But
for Christ's sake, what are you doing the walk in?
Speaker 6 (10:38):
Like, get that camera off me, man, Like that's what
I'm saying, me running up to the camera with my
head like get that camera out of my face, like.
Speaker 3 (10:47):
Let me do this job.
Speaker 9 (10:48):
But like when I'm when I'm not supposed to be, like,
don't put me on camera, don't tell let me just
live my life.
Speaker 3 (10:54):
He was eating that up. He was eating that all
the way up. Well he was. He was in his glory.
Speaker 6 (11:00):
He was in the moment, and somebody was more in
the moment. In the moment, Stephen, they was in that moment.
I don't know what a moment is.
Speaker 9 (11:09):
Swag he had a little hey like he was a
little bit sore from Bens four or five and six, Like,
hey man, you know, I got that ankle, I got
that knee.
Speaker 3 (11:23):
I'm gonna get through. We're gonna get through tonight, this.
Speaker 5 (11:27):
Night.
Speaker 6 (11:37):
I mean, have you ever felt the loss of a
playoff game? Like Bro, It's a it's a horrible feeling.
It's such a lonely feeling because it's like, this is
the moment where you get to the end. These are
the games that get you to the end, and the
moment you lose, the first thing you think about is
we gotta start all over again. You gotta start all
(11:58):
over again. You gotta do it all over again. That's
a big deal. That's a big deal. Whether you go
to the playoffs every year or not, it's a big
deal to have to reset your brain to do that,
do the process all over again, just to try to
get to that point again, to try to get further
than that point. So I don't know what, and not
(12:19):
to take anything away from that media person who asked
the question, because maybe they had an like you said, Q,
they probably had their own angle, and I don't get
what it would be, but to know the importance of
being able to progress. Like you look at somebody like
look at Lamar Jackson, you know, is electrifying as he
(12:40):
is as a player, wins the MVP Award again, he
just hasn't been able to.
Speaker 3 (12:45):
Get it done in the playoffs, you know.
Speaker 6 (12:49):
And you look at a guy like Anthony Edwards's He's
now progressed to the final, like the Western Final. To
have this opportunity and to get this far along, like
you can't. You can't sit there and say, okay, well
this year was more important than last year. Why why
would it make it more important? Like he said, they
(13:11):
said they lost two times two years in a row.
Speaker 3 (13:14):
You know.
Speaker 6 (13:14):
And so to me, you got to give Minnesota their
their props because they they are going through it seems
like the proper process to become a team that could
be you know, they're in they're in pole position. If
you asked me to win it all, I know, people
think that it's going to be Boston. I think Boston
comes out of the Indiana Series. Now, that could be wrong.
(13:35):
Like them on the polls, what you're saying, Yeah, I
do like them.
Speaker 3 (13:38):
On pole assassins, Yeah, yeah, yeah, I do. What a
weekend in sports. Though.
Speaker 7 (13:45):
By the way, what a great weekend, Like there's so
much stuff going on that the fury, you sick fight
the Gray which almost got id even write down here
picked what.
Speaker 2 (13:56):
Horace I had imagination didn't work well.
Speaker 3 (14:00):
I didn't remember. Yeah, did anyone have seized the gray?
Speaker 2 (14:05):
I don't believe so?
Speaker 3 (14:06):
Oh great? Yeah? So how many people picked?
Speaker 1 (14:09):
And yes? So that means that there was what five
people or no, six people, six people out of nine
horses and nobody want nobody picked the right one.
Speaker 7 (14:19):
I should have been a separate bet, like I would
have bet on one of us winning if there was.
Speaker 3 (14:24):
Odds on it.
Speaker 2 (14:25):
Yeah, that's a shame.
Speaker 3 (14:27):
Dang.
Speaker 1 (14:28):
By the way, how boring was the PGA Championship when
people weren't getting arrested?
Speaker 3 (14:35):
I mean, guys, actually I was gonna say, pretty awesome.
Speaker 1 (14:38):
I mean I was out like I need I need
some relatable golfers, guys that have road rage.
Speaker 3 (14:45):
Did somebody walk into a rope or something? Did one
of the golfers walk into a rope?
Speaker 2 (14:55):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (14:55):
I don't think so.
Speaker 1 (14:56):
But I'm trying to figure I'm trying to figure out
why there's a trail of blood out in front of
the door of the studio.
Speaker 2 (15:01):
That's what I'm trying to figure out. Outside where.
Speaker 3 (15:04):
Still there?
Speaker 1 (15:05):
Just walked through. There's a trail of blood. Interesting now's here? Okay, no, no,
not not real sure.
Speaker 3 (15:14):
Are you serious? Though? Liked Chambeau made a putt on
eighteen to be able to tie to to push.
Speaker 6 (15:19):
Wasn't it Chambeau who walked into the the rope like
he maybe it was a different Maybe it was a
different tournament, maybe a different tournament.
Speaker 3 (15:29):
Yeah, yeah, Chambeau versus, I.
Speaker 7 (15:33):
Know what you're saying, in a different tournament, he walked
into it. Yeah, is still a shot Shotley gets his first?
Speaker 3 (15:39):
I mean it was. It was an awesome week in
the sportsman.
Speaker 1 (15:40):
I really enjoyed did did Does Bryson still do curls
before every every round?
Speaker 9 (15:46):
Or no?
Speaker 7 (15:46):
I know he mashes the ball absolutely swings like a
a cave man.
Speaker 3 (15:52):
It looks like he's like swinging like a telephone poll
out there. It's awesome.
Speaker 2 (15:56):
Yeah, it was that. It was a good weekend in sport.
Speaker 3 (15:58):
Is a trail of bro walking walking?
Speaker 6 (16:03):
He man, I see them, I see that that family
of hyenas growing outside the parking.
Speaker 3 (16:11):
I finally seen them. Bad boys walking around man.
Speaker 6 (16:14):
Hyenas, no coyotes, But I'm just sad they were moving around. Boy,
they was like they were really patrolling the place. Like
they were deep too. I mean they kept coming around.
I was like they was rolling deep. You could kick
one of them in the face, maybe you got a chance,
(16:36):
but it looked like there's enough of them to try
to take a person down.
Speaker 2 (16:42):
Well, I don't know.
Speaker 1 (16:42):
They must have gotten to somebody because it's either paint
or blood. I can't tell, but for the sake of
the story, will go with blood.
Speaker 3 (16:49):
Was painting, you know, smart crafts. Maybe League got attacked.
Speaker 2 (16:55):
I don't think so.
Speaker 3 (16:57):
Maybe Coop.
Speaker 6 (16:58):
Maybe Coop was, you know, a certain type of way,
real relaxed, the chill, and no bad boys that ran
up on him.
Speaker 1 (17:05):
Hey, Coop, what's your guess? Blood or paint out in
front of the studio door. If you had to guess
right now, you're a betting man, what would you say
it is? It's definitely not paint.
Speaker 3 (17:15):
Oh no, no, murder mystery.
Speaker 2 (17:19):
It could be like catch up or barbecue sauce or
something like that.
Speaker 6 (17:24):
I would rather be blood than that, because come on,
you gotta be one filthy nasty, dirty person.
Speaker 1 (17:32):
That like nobody's walking in with a bottle of A
one and spilling it before they get in the studio.
Speaker 2 (17:38):
Somebody got attacked.
Speaker 1 (17:40):
There's blood out in front of the studio telling you
right now, and that story is only going to grow
as the show goes on, so that as it stands
right now.
Speaker 3 (17:48):
So it wasn't the coyotes getting cooped. I don't know.
Speaker 6 (17:51):
He just gave us unless he's sitting on blood right now.
He don't want nobody to know the truth.
Speaker 1 (17:56):
I'll just say this right now. The security guards unfazed
by the whole thing. I don't even think anybody knows it.
Speaker 3 (18:05):
So all right, So so.
Speaker 1 (18:08):

Fox Sports Radio, LaVar Arrington, Brady Quinn, Jonas Knox with you.
Coming up at about twenty minutes from now from the
tire rack dot Com studios, We're going to talk about
the worst loss of the weekend.
Speaker 2 (19:46):
Somebody suffered the worst loss of the weekend.
Speaker 1 (19:49):
We'll tell you who that is again here about twenty
minutes from now from these tire rack dot Com studios.
Speaker 3 (19:54):
Boxing. What's that was it in boxing?
Speaker 2 (19:58):
I don't know.
Speaker 6 (19:59):
I mean it's I want to be competitive with Denver.
I mean we opened up with Denver. That's all. You
gotta believe. That was a horrible loss.
Speaker 2 (20:06):
Yeah, it was a bad loss. It's not the worst though.
There's one worse all right, that's coming here.
Speaker 1 (20:15):
What the hell's going on with Marvin Harrison Junior kind
of a kind of a weird start to his NFL
career now being sued by fanatics like what is uh?
Because I'm a little confused. He had a licensing deal
and then he renigged on the deal and then it
didn't get done, or now he's got some other sponsorship
and he's got it on his own website and he's
(20:37):
selling memorabilia. Now, like, how did this happen to wear Fanatics?
And that's why he's not, you know with the rest
of the rookies there, you know, with Tom Brady and
all the other guys that got drafted that now he's
embroiled in this battle. Yeah, Tom Brady was there with
h They're all there together.
Speaker 7 (20:56):
By the way, They've got like a monopoly on the
like Jersey sports apparel industry. It's it's crazy, Like anyone
who's looking to design, create a shirt, jersey whatever, that's
basically who you sign up with. Like there's there's like
no other real, you know, no other really challenger out there,
competition out there.
Speaker 1 (21:16):
I mean, they've got everything on there was everything, it's
it's it's it's literally everything.
Speaker 2 (21:22):
Every sport, anything you can imagine. They've got another website.
It's unbelievable.
Speaker 7 (21:27):
So I don't know exactly where this whole agreement between
Marvin Harrison Junior and Fanatics went sideways. It looks like,
based on what's come out publicly, that there was its
contract signed back in May of twenty twenty three, and
my best guess is it was either an apparel deal
(21:50):
with Fanatics at the time for what Marvin Harrison Junior
felt like it was for like a million bucks. But
based on the contract that's been put out there publicly,
you don't know what the deliverables were. You don't know
what the commitment was from Marvin Harrison Junior and Fanatics
and some of the terms. It's kind of odd, but
a lot of stuff's redacted out of what has been
(22:10):
put out there, so it's hard to understand. But I
think if you try to piece some of it together, Basically,
either Marvin Harrison Junior or his camp felt like the
agreement they signed was only going to last during his
college days while he was at Ohio State and wasn't
going to extend to whatever the terms of the deal
(22:31):
was into the NFL, which is something that can happen.
Right There's plenty of these athletes at the college level
who signed deals that go in perpetuity and are not
aware of that, and so a lot of these agents
and people have either cases to be made and that's
where a lawsuit comes into play. But in this case,
(22:51):
it seems like there's a miscommunication as far as what
he had signed back in May of twenty twenty three,
and with where they're at now and he's not signed
and is you know, the licensing agreement between the NFLPA
and Fanatics. So that's why he wasn't a part of
the Rookie Premiere, and that's why a lot of people
can't get his jersey right now online since obviously Fanatics
holds the rights to that.
Speaker 3 (23:12):
So it's it's a it's a weird thing, man Like,
there's different battles to pick and choose. This is one that.
Speaker 7 (23:19):
For me, I can understand why he's doing what he's doing.
He wants to be able to control whatever he puts
out there right as a jersey, as apparel or whatever,
and that's it's awesome. But he's got to know that,
given the construct of the league and their agreement with Fanatics,
he might be leaving some money on the table if
he tries to go this route, and if he already
(23:41):
signed a deal, he may be subject to a lawsuit,
which we're finding.
Speaker 3 (23:44):
Out right now.
Speaker 6 (23:46):
I thought the way I read it was the relationship
was a non exclusive agreement between him and Fanatics and
it ended in April.
Speaker 3 (23:58):
That might be what they think, because it looks like
that contract that was out there.
Speaker 6 (24:03):
Said otherwise, okay, because I guess the things I saw
was just the suit that was fouled. It showed that
the relationship began apparently in twenty three, but then we're
supposed to end in April.
Speaker 3 (24:16):
But well, just suing him so try they wouldn't they
wouldn't want it to be non exclusive if that was
the case.
Speaker 6 (24:22):
Yeah, I'd be interesting to see what details come out
of it. What grounds? I mean, do we know what
grounds they're standing on right now with the suit? Are
they are they basically insinuating that he needs to still
be complying to what's going on with the contract, and
that if that is how much longer is that? Like
(24:43):
you said, is it im perpetuity? Like that would be
crazy if somebody did a deal that was in perpetuity
to their own name, image and likeness. But and I
you know, it's interesting because I didn't sign a g
LA when when I came out of college and I
ended up suing Upper Deck. I ended up suing a
(25:05):
few companies legally because they just acted like, you know,
me not signing it didn't matter. They would put my
card out. They were had me on the video games
they they had my my jersey album.
Speaker 3 (25:21):
I mean, that's fine.
Speaker 6 (25:22):
I just didn't, you know, I wanted to understand more
about what they were doing with my my name and
my image and my likeness and and what that represented.
I just wanted to be more educated by the the
PA as to what what my you know, signing my
rights away for my my name, image and likeness, what
(25:44):
that represented. And they it's like they didn't want to
do it. It was like they were trying to shame
me into signing it. And the more that I felt
like they weren't willing to explain what they were doing
with our name, image and our likeness, I didn't want
to sign, and so I didn't sign. And so for me,
(26:05):
I was more so trying to protect my brand and
protect what, you know, how it would be used, and
just wanted to understand that. Like I know, it's like, Okay,
my money goes into the pool with somebody other guys's
money and we group share what we move and stuff
like that, and it helps out guys. Like I had
no problem with with those things. I just had a
(26:27):
problem with not understanding what, like what are you using
my name, image and likeness for outside of what the
obvious is. I don't know if it's being used overseas.
I don't know where you know, I don't know where
you're using my brand. And if you're using my brand
in certain places, then I should have the I should
(26:48):
have the ability and the opportunity to monetize off of
that instead of it just being an open shut like
this is what's going on. I wanted to know reporting,
like if you're saying, this is what I'm getting paid
and this is what we're splitting up. I wanted to
know reporting on on dings, signing the GLA.
Speaker 3 (27:06):
I did GLA signs for Group Licensing Agreement.
Speaker 6 (27:10):
Yeah, I ended up signing at some point. I ended
up doing it like your rookie year. When with that event,
I don't remember.
Speaker 1 (27:20):
And by the way, I did find a two thousand
upper deck LeVar Arrington rookie card you can get on
an eBay for after fees and taxes one four eighty seven.
Speaker 3 (27:32):
Dang.
Speaker 7 (27:33):
I mean, by the way, that is actually more expensive
too than a Chicago Cubs ticket right now case and
noone's looking to go to a Cubs game.
Speaker 1 (27:42):
Oh god, the way their offense is no, yeah, yeah, no,
no doubt oh gosh, but yeah one fourteen ninety six,
ninety five before all the fees and stuff, so you know,
and it's eBay.
Speaker 2 (27:53):
You know, maybe you could haggle them a little bit,
but I was able to find.
Speaker 3 (27:57):
But that's the thing.
Speaker 6 (27:58):
If if people are anetizing off of you, fanatics is
doing something that's phenomenal because they have the ability to
set the market right, you know what I mean, Like,
that's that's really what they've created is go on.
Speaker 7 (28:13):
I'll just say specific to this situation too, what's kind
of crazy is how many guys do you know are
being sued by fanatics. It's not Marvin Harrison Junior is
suing it. It's fanatics suing the athlete. Like you don't
hear of this because typically this stuff works itself out
behind the scenes, and so it must have gotten to
(28:33):
a point where they're like, no, we're serious about this,
Like you need to do this, you agreed to this.
Speaker 3 (28:39):
Now you're trying to walk it back and we're going
to sue you.
Speaker 7 (28:42):
And by the way, when the lawsuits figured out, you
have to come back to us on at the negotiating table,
or you can just not be a part of any
group lessing agreement, not have your jersey sold, not be
a part of everything else that's out there.
Speaker 3 (28:56):
So that's the kind of power they have.
Speaker 7 (28:59):
Which is it's interesting, like to think that it got
to this point where they're suing now an athlete, yet
they know what the endgame is is eventually the athlete's
going to have to come back to them if they
want to be able to get that check that you
get from your jersey sales and be a part of
the g l A. Which maybe maybe the NFL p
A can help step in and help sort some of
(29:20):
this out too. But it's just you don't see this
very often. So it's kind of crazy.
Speaker 1 (29:23):
On the website where he's got all his other memorabilia
up right now, Marvin Harrison Junior, there's a part on
the site that says Cardinals memorabilia coming soon, all right,
I don't know, man, I mean not according to fanatics.
Speaker 2 (29:39):
And now we get to see that.
Speaker 6 (29:40):
The other thing is like he can't use the Yeah,
that's that's the thing. That's anything I was selling. I
was selling stuff back then. I was selling jerseys, the
water Boy and and you know, I'd always you know,
I told every people back then I used to take
pride and telling the story that I was the guy
that Adam Sandler came to watch to study for the
(30:01):
water Boy, and so it was like a thing. Yeah,
so that was like a thing. And I was I
was selling jerseys that locally, like with local apparel companies
shout out to all days and Kirk Bom, I was,
I was selling in the local market, you know which
I you know, for.
Speaker 3 (30:20):
Me, I thought it was back then.
Speaker 6 (30:23):
I thought it was just super super forward and thinking
and how you go about doing it. And I would
say with now the way NIL is and with guys
becoming more educated leading up to going into the National
Football League, there should be the conversations that take place,
(30:45):
and there should be the opportunity for them to have
conversations not only with with local businesses because that could
help stimulate local business for businesses.
Speaker 3 (30:55):
Or surrounding the team, but the team itself.
Speaker 6 (30:58):
The franchise should be open to having some conversations about
how to work with guys if they really want to
build their own brand with their name, image and likeness
as it connects to the applies to the team. I mean,
that should be a conversation that's had now That has
nothing to do with the contract. Whatever the contract is,
that's the contract. But I'm just saying as it moves forward,
(31:21):
I know what if my son is good enough to
go to the pros and he's a big name, we're
going to look into that, like we're going to look
into how that works the business of his name, image
and his likeness versus just signing away your rights to
a company to use your your your brand, and any
any way they want, not just jerseys. They can use
(31:43):
your brand, your image, and your likeness anyway they want.
They control your your they control it. So I just
I've never always felt comfortable, fully comfortable with those type
of deals because I want to know everything you're doing,
and they don't want to tell you everything that they're doing.
Speaker 3 (32:00):
It is interesting you bring it up that way. I
remember when I was presented with it, and.
Speaker 7 (32:05):
When you again, a lot of these young men now
are much more understanding of their brand and what's happening
out there in the marketplace, because you know, they're coming
through a world of nil where they've got that experience
even in college to a degree.
Speaker 3 (32:19):
Right now, when we were back doing it, like they
kind of pushed you to sign it and it was like, well,
what am I signing? Like they were shouting you, like
what's that?
Speaker 9 (32:29):
It wasn't shaming, they were shame in me, Like what
would they say shame?
Speaker 6 (32:34):
You think you're better than that, you think you're better
than everybody else, you think you're different, like what.
Speaker 7 (32:42):
There is an element of lack of education and it
used to be this way with the NFLPA, where they
really didn't help you understand what you were signing. And
it's a scary thing when you're a young person, You've
just gotten drafted, you are gonna have money coming your way.
Speaker 3 (32:59):
You're like, I don't what am I signing? Why am
I signing this? Like is this a smart thing to do?
Speaker 7 (33:03):
Like everyone else is telling you, hey, you gotta align
yourself with smart people around you. And then you have
the NFLPA that comes along and they're just having guys,
but no, you need just on this. It's good for
the league, good for the guy you know, and you're like, wait,
wait a second, is it good for me? Like am
I making a decision where I'm signing something like is
this what's best for me? And there's really no one
to help you with that process of understanding it, so
(33:23):
I can. I can definitely see what you're talking about.
It's a it's a quick transition from all of a
sudden people like looking to try to get you a
part of the group lis scene agreement, just to make
it easier for you know, fanatics, for the NFL, for
the NFLPA to have one of the top rookies, because
there's basically two times where you're going to dominate Jersey sales.
(33:45):
It's your rookie year and then it's some point later
on the future, probably if you win a Super Bowl
MVP something like that, or if you change teams and
you're one of those prolific players or you're dating Taylor Swift.
Speaker 2 (33:59):
Like essentially.
Speaker 1 (34:02):

No not no, no, no, but I was high profile
in that in that category. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I
had those boxes checked off. I just needed I just
needed a Super Bowl Q and it was going to
be a rat.
Speaker 3 (34:32):
I was on my way. So those boxes were checked out. Gotcha.
Speaker 6 (34:36):
I was checking off all the boxes, man. That's all
I'm gonna say, you know, for all the boxes.

Speaker 3 (36:53):
You sick?
Speaker 2 (36:54):
Upset Tyson Fury crazy?
Speaker 3 (36:57):
He does. He didn't got lazy, that's all that is.
Speaker 6 (37:00):
If he was really still dowed in all like that,
he would have whooped that man's ass.
Speaker 3 (37:04):
But he just what he's gotten lazy? What makes you
feel like he's lazy? Just his physical appearance. No, I
just think his approach. It's it's like it's his approach.
Speaker 6 (37:13):
He's he's like more so like kind of like agging
it up on on, like you know, like getting a
fight and taking the fight instead of like really really
being dowed in to win the fight.
Speaker 3 (37:25):
Like he's not.
Speaker 6 (37:26):
I think he's happy. He's happy in hisself. He just
likes to fight. Did we have anyone score the fight?
Speaker 3 (37:32):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (37:32):
You know something, glad? He asked, twelve Usik that is
what I had. Yeah, so glad, he asked. I mean
comprehensive breakdown to come throughout the course of the showcase.
Speaker 6 (37:43):
I mean he's fighting MMA fighters and stuff like that. Now,
Like I just I just think that these things and
listen that the dude that that turned boxer. I mean
he did pretty well. I mean he he beat up
on Uh, well, who'd he beat?
Speaker 2 (37:57):
Well, everybody beat everybody, He.
Speaker 3 (38:01):
Beats somebody and then Anthony Joshua just knocked him out.
Speaker 2 (38:04):
You know, oh Francis and Ghane.
Speaker 6 (38:07):
Yeah and Ghanu and Ghanu. He could have beat Tyson fury.
He didn't beat him, but he could add and that
shouldn't even been close if he was still what else? Yeah, yeah,
I don't need Yeah. That was very belligerent of Q,
but that's you know, Hey, hey, Lee, don't don't let.
Speaker 3 (38:26):
Too much of this go, man, don't let him get
away with this.
Speaker 1 (38:30):
Only have a pair of balls as the executive producer
and put a stop to this.
Speaker 2 (38:34):
All right, yellow card, yellow card on that on that one.
Thank you, Joe Drake curse by the way, not that
we got.
Speaker 12 (38:40):
To that part of the story, but Drake had lost
five hundred sixty five thousand dollars. Why don't we care
about he don't know, nobody does care. Yeah, you're you're right, Brady?
Speaker 3 (38:47):
What Lee? What is Brady's problem? Brady? Hold down? Man?
You know, Lee, why don't you grab a spoon? All right,
go grab a spoon.
Speaker 12 (38:56):
You can eat my you know, you know, all right,
you know what I'm putting the I'm putting a stop
to this guy's red card.
Speaker 2 (39:03):
Bright gun break the rest of the show. Get out
of here, right
