You're listening to Fox Sports Radio, Two Pros and a

Tirerac dot com will help you get there an unmatched election,
(01:28):
fast reshipping, free road has a protection and over ten
thousand recommended installers. Tire rack dot com the way tire
buying should be. Well, that was something last night at
the World Series in the Bronx. Just tell you this
right now. You want some real fan interference, you go
to a Yankees World Series game.
Speaker 4 (01:49):
That's right, baby, because they're gonna get it. That's a
fan base.
Speaker 2 (01:51):
They're gonna get their money. That's what you do. That's
a fan face.
Speaker 5 (01:57):
I think that might be the most memorable bull fan fate.
Speaker 2 (02:01):
Like when you thought the dude, what.
Speaker 5 (02:03):
Was it the Cubs or what was it?
Speaker 4 (02:06):
Don't even get me started, I mean started.
Speaker 2 (02:08):
With that was a silly ass looking dude there.
Speaker 4 (02:11):
Bortman was his last name.
Speaker 1 (02:13):
This dude guy is such a loser.
Speaker 2 (02:15):
Well, let's say this was a Steve Bartman. Yep, he
doesn't even come clownlose to the dumb ass face that
that fan was making in this last game. It don't
even come close. It looks like that.
Speaker 5 (02:31):
And I got, look, I got a dumb face, like
I don't you know, I think my face is dumb.
So I'm not one to like really clown people in
the way they look that dude's thank you.
Speaker 4 (02:40):
There was a distinct difference between the two. In one event,
the Yankees fan was trying to help out their team.
In this event, for the Cubs you're referring to, it
was exact opposite. Yeah, backfired.
Speaker 1 (02:55):
Moys c Selou was there ready to I mean, because
people forget that there's one out in the eighth Mark
Pryor is dealing in two thousand and three, I mean
there there went away from the World Series, they're five
outs away, and that knob decides, I've got to have
that baseball as he's got his headphones on and he's
(03:18):
listening to the game and the radio.
Speaker 2 (03:20):
Just such a rain man, What a clown. It was.
It was one of them radio radio moments.
Speaker 5 (03:25):
But all I'm saying is this dude just look solely
off of how you look, I just think this dude
last night though, like the Glee, the dumb Glee that.
Speaker 2 (03:39):
Was in his face. Yeah, it was rady dude.
Speaker 5 (03:46):
The Cubs dude was a radio that was radio right,
that's the look he had this one last night.
Speaker 4 (03:54):
He took the cake. I think Steve Barbin had to
move to from Chicago.
Speaker 1 (03:57):
Of course, when they when they finally won the World
Series in twenty sixteen, they're like, they should really bring
him back for what?
Speaker 2 (04:04):
What?
Speaker 1 (04:04):
What like bringing back to what so they could throw
him down a flight of stairs, Like, no, you don't
bring him back at that moment.
Speaker 4 (04:13):
Imagine if they could have won that one back in
two thousand and three, and then all those Cubs fans
with season tickets who are trying to sell them now
there'd be more to sell. Great, There'll be a lot
more to sell for.
Speaker 1 (04:25):
Great point, and maybe, like you know, some people that
were still alive at the time, could have seen their
team actually win a World times back in oh three,
But they can't.
Speaker 4 (04:32):
They're not sad to a lot of people came and went, yeah,
they can see the Cubs.
Speaker 2 (04:38):
With lost a lot of good ones waiting on them.
Speaker 4 (04:40):
Come right with a thirteen radio disruptide memories.
Speaker 2 (04:49):
The radio did it. He did, He's the white radio.
Speaker 1 (04:53):
I mean, that's it's so much better that I'm not
trying to condone it, but it's so much better than
streakers or you know, people you know, getting into fights
with other fans at stadiums, Like that guy tried to
pull the glove off.
Speaker 5 (05:09):
He tried to pull he pulled it apart, and then
tried to pull the ball out. And the facial expressions
that he was taking all the time, bro Bro, I was.
Speaker 2 (05:21):
Like, look at this mother effort's face.
Speaker 5 (05:24):
Man, Like, I'm just sitting there looking at the TV, like,
you know how you be talking like sometimes TV will
have you talking to yourself.
Speaker 2 (05:31):
I was sitting there like I was cussing him out,
like look at this stupid mother. What are you doing?
Like what are you look at your face? Bruh. I
started rewinding it.
Speaker 5 (05:41):
I was t TVO whatever then in show rewinding just
so I can see his face looking stupid, man like,
he's that is the most that is the most historical
stupid face I've ever seen, possibly in the history of sports.
Speaker 1 (06:01):
Yeah, but there was something daring about him. You know,
there's there's something dear.
Speaker 2 (06:05):
Do you have the stupid face. No, got it, Yeah,
you got.
Speaker 5 (06:13):
There has to be there has to be something all
the way perfect about your stupid face for it to
be the Like, Coop, I'm saying, the stupidest face in
the history of sports. Like, think about this and then
start thinking to yourself, Have you ever saw face stupider
(06:34):
than that? I can't think of one. I immediately started
thinking to myself, Have I ever saw face more stupid
than that man's face?
Speaker 2 (06:42):
In that moment?
Speaker 5 (06:43):
I can't think of one other than if I was
looking at myself, you know what I mean.
Speaker 4 (06:47):
But that being said, the Yankees one, we got game,
Let's keep this.
Speaker 2 (06:54):
It's not going to stretch. Let's stretch this out as
far as possible.
Speaker 5 (06:57):
They have no room for for era and they won
so big, and it's just it's like, that's they.
Speaker 2 (07:06):
I don't want to know. You got Garrett Cole in
the mound. They shot their shot. I don't know.
Speaker 4 (07:10):
Garrett Cole was pretty good.
Speaker 2 (07:11):
Game one got their shot.
Speaker 4 (07:12):
You know, it gets lost in all of this. Freddie
Freeman putting on a clinic for the Ages. Dude, I mean,
a home run every single game so far? Are you
kidding me?
Speaker 1 (07:25):
Even if the Yankees came back and won, he might
still win MVP of the series.
Speaker 4 (07:30):
I mean, he keeps this up. There's part of me
that was like, okay, if you end it in four, right,
they just get a clean sweep. There's no doubt not
only that he's the MVP, but you're saying this might
be one of the greatest performances ever, like ever. I
mean George Springer, I guess did it? Was it back
in twenty sixteen, twenty seventeen, I.
Speaker 1 (07:47):
Don't know that was marred by the cheating scandal. I
don't remember.
Speaker 4 (07:51):
Well, I think he had done it as well the
first four games. But I mean, if you pull, if
you put that up all the time, he does it
for in game five. I mean it's rarefied air Man
as far as in the biggest stage of your sport,
being able to show up and show out, that's incredible.
Speaker 2 (08:10):
And he's also dealing with the ankle injury.
Speaker 4 (08:13):
Which, like there was it was questionable whether or not
he was going to come on.
Speaker 1 (08:16):
That's why people made the Kirk Gibson comparisons because he
was injured and all that.
Speaker 4 (08:20):
But well, Joe Davis did not people.
Speaker 1 (08:21):
Well, there was a lot of people. Listen, I kind
of called my shot on that. If we're going to
be on Freddie me Gibby, I mean, he's the one
who made the call. I think you should give him
some credit.
Speaker 2 (08:29):
Okay, Well, I mean he seemed like he had so
good with names. Man, I do know y'all be remembering
all these names.
Speaker 1 (08:35):
I mean just seemed like Joe Davis was really excited
about that moment.
Speaker 4 (08:39):
Look, LeVar, this is a long standing issue Jonas has
had with me and my relationship and friendship to Joe Davis. Okay,
I try to give him credit whenever credits due. He
had a legendary call. Again. You know, what do you say,
Freddie Mee Ghibby? You know I mean that whole thing, right.
But Jonas doesn't want to get made.
Speaker 2 (08:57):
Jonas is a jealous type.
Speaker 4 (08:59):
Here's why. Let me tell you why he is.
Speaker 1 (09:01):
Because I had to sit here on this network and
listen to Brady. This network wax poetically about Joe years
and I just sat there and said, Okay, we'll see
who's standing at the end of all this. And guess
what what, I outlasted Joe Davis and I'm still here
with Brady so Joe Davis got riversided.
Speaker 2 (09:23):
Chose you, tam righty did? That's just the game.
Speaker 1 (09:26):
He knows, he knows who buttons his bread.
Speaker 2 (09:29):
Blame the player.
Speaker 5 (09:30):
All right, we can handle this like some gentlemen, or
we could get into some real gangs.
Speaker 4 (09:38):
Now let's get weird.
Speaker 2 (09:43):
Choose Brady Quinn.
Speaker 4 (09:46):
By the way, that's a.
Speaker 2 (09:50):
Real what's the game? By the way, I was just
gonna ask how.
Speaker 4 (09:54):
I was gonna ask how Lee was doing.
Speaker 2 (09:57):
I mean, I think we've ridiculed him so much.
Speaker 5 (10:00):
Bro, I think that today he forced himself to come
in in like a positive way. To date, he's doing
so well. He asked me how I was doing? Like,
I'm like, man, I'm having an s he day, you
know what I mean? My yesterday was kind of idy?
Speaker 2 (10:16):
Yo? Who Joe Davis? Damn right? WHOA hold on? I
was compliments? Don't up. Don't mess us up on the
in laws? Who that's why his in laws?
Speaker 4 (10:31):
You stupid?
Speaker 2 (10:32):
Is you trying to say that's how we talk? No,
I didn't say nothing, Johnson. What you're trying to say? Man,
what it is you're trying to say to me? And Joe?
Go back? Okay, say that again? Who who? What say
did Joe go back? No? No? Say the way you
said when you came in broke to crack the mic?
What did you say? Yo?
Speaker 5 (10:49):
Who?
Speaker 4 (10:50):
Joe?
Speaker 2 (10:50):
Davis? Thank you, Lorena thank.
Speaker 5 (10:54):
You are.
Speaker 4 (10:56):
Digging a hole about a mile deep right now.
Speaker 5 (10:59):
Now if you make that voice, Davis, and you put
that to that fan's face when he was trying to
grab that ball out that man's glove.
Speaker 2 (11:07):
Hey, by the way, Leadia, that's a winner.
Speaker 1 (11:09):
Do you have the name of the fan because it
is the most appropriate Yankees fan if you can find it,
because I can't pronounce it.
Speaker 4 (11:15):
That's why I'm asking you.
Speaker 1 (11:16):
It's Darren, Darren and what's the last Can you just.
Speaker 2 (11:20):
Try to hard? First about to say, is Darren too
hard for you? Resist? And then it's uh, just try it.
Speaker 1 (11:29):
It's like cappuccino, what I just just sound it out.
We'll work through it, like we'll we'll work through this
the air. Yeah, it's it's the most appropriate name for
a Yankee fan you could ever possibly think of. Like
it's just like you see to go, oh, yeah, that
does look like a Darren whatever his name, Well, I've
(11:50):
got to be Darren though.
Speaker 2 (11:52):
Yeah. They're like they tease you. What all these white
dudes with black dude names.
Speaker 1 (11:57):
I'm telling you, man, it just bugs the hell out
of me.
Speaker 2 (12:00):
Don't get it. Why are you trying like I hat?
Can't we have Something's got to be racist?
Speaker 4 (12:05):
Can't we have something?
Speaker 2 (12:07):
I don't think you stay we can't have Tyrone? What
we can't have Darren?
Speaker 5 (12:16):
I mean, man, you.
Speaker 4 (12:20):
What Tyrone started on your team all the way ours.
Speaker 2 (12:25):
We wanted it. We had Tyrone and fame. Tyrone from
Fame made it. He made it famous.
Speaker 1 (12:31):
That's a great point, you white people being so greedy
white people.
Speaker 2 (12:36):
He gave us hope cap banc, Darren, Capo Bianco.
Speaker 4 (12:41):
I mean, the name Tyrone is actually Irish, you know that.
Speaker 2 (12:44):
I don't care. It's ours, by the way.
Speaker 4 (12:47):
Northern Ireland.
Speaker 2 (12:49):
I don't even care. Tyrone is black in America. You
tell me how many well it hits you differently because
it's your dad. But god dang, my brother.
Speaker 4 (13:01):
Also, if you would have made the trip to Ireland,
you would have met some other Tyrones that y'all had.
Speaker 2 (13:06):
Y'all hadrons around y'all.
Speaker 4 (13:09):
Yeah, damn.
Speaker 2 (13:10):
The only Tyrone I saw in Ireland was well traveled enough, man,
Tyrone is ours.
Speaker 4 (13:17):
We are. We wanted.
Speaker 5 (13:20):
He's by the way, I know, I know, Hey, we
us black people. We were like that fan for the
New York Yankees. When the name Tyrone was hit and
was going out of that.
Speaker 2 (13:33):
We tried to take it out of the line, but
that bitch fell back into the stadium. That's our name.
We didn't quite catch it.
Speaker 1 (13:42):
Hey, I got a buddy named Marcus too. We're all
the way greedy man, y'all greedy man. Yeah, selfish, I
can't have nothing. Sorry, Hey, we let you guys have babe,
Ruth you did. There was an on air trade, by
the way, yeah, that is, but we traded a Kardashian
(14:05):
for Patrick Mahomes so up top, Brady, dang.
Speaker 2 (14:10):
Yeah, but we got Travis Kelsey. That's true, Kayla what Yeah?
All right? Well, hey, congratulations Yankees. You stay.
Speaker 4 (14:22):
You appreciate shopping from time to time. No idea what
he's saying, Calen Nicole, Yeah, I think you talking about
his girlfriend. This algorithm.
Speaker 2 (14:29):
First one randomly shout her out because she's in shape,
she's got good it bands.
Speaker 4 (14:38):
Damn.
Speaker 1 (14:40):
It is two pros and a cup of Joe Fox
Sports Radio, LeVar Arrington, Brady Quinn, Jonas Knox with you.
So we are gonna have the usuals coming up later

here on FSR.
Speaker 6 (15:19):

Larta their bus.
Speaker 4 (15:37):
Yes, I watched their bus and I watched their movie too,
and that's when I was like.
Speaker 1 (15:40):
Oh yeah, really British.
Speaker 4 (15:42):
Oh, LeVar, do you know who Dermock Kennedy is? No, see,
if you listen to him, you'd be like, all right,
there's some soul there. Okay, you don't know who that is.
Speaker 2 (15:51):
I mean I just told y'all first second it's more
mainstream enough. H You know what's funny is Jonas Jonah
is exposed. He doesn't know who it is either. He's
the Sarcastle. Give me a song. What's the song? You
gotta sing it?
Speaker 4 (16:08):
I'm not even trying to. So his most famous song
is power Over Me, Like people, if you, if you,
if we play that song, you go, I know this.
Speaker 1 (16:16):
Guy that's a little overrated for me, Like I think
he's okay giants.
Speaker 4 (16:21):
Those are like probably his three biggest hits. Howar over he?
Speaker 5 (16:24):
Maybe Lorraina could even pull it up right now? Maybe yeah,
maybe there's the possibility we could actually listen to it. Whoa, Yeah,
see he's like some peaky blind or stuff right here.
Speaker 2 (16:37):
Oh oh oh that's why I've never heard it.
Speaker 4 (16:43):
Here we go Williams and Jonas. It's not Alison chains Bro.
Speaker 1 (16:47):
Hey, when's the good par come up?
Speaker 5 (16:49):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (16:50):
Man us is actually he venting? Right? Now I want
to be the king in your story. Damn hmm, I
like them. It's aggressive.
Speaker 5 (17:02):
Oh oh, what are you talking about? I do know
this all see I know the hook. Yeah, I know
the hook. I ain't bad. There you got bad?
Speaker 2 (17:17):
Okay. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (17:18):
If it's not heavy metal, I'm not into it. Jodahs
knocks that gets me fired up.
Speaker 2 (17:24):
Yeah, it really make me want to walk down the
alley with the homies. Man, if I want to watch sling,
watch it start doing west Side story snapping.
Speaker 4 (17:34):
If it's not hard metal, I don't like it.
Speaker 2 (17:38):
I need that or music.
Speaker 1 (17:39):
I can't understand it because I don't speak Spanish and
I'm talking about.
Speaker 4 (17:43):
Yeah, I'm Jodahs knocks.
Speaker 1 (17:45):
Guys sitting there holding the shell a ley trying to
get people fired up. I know they're doing haxaw squad,
dozing up the crowd.
Speaker 2 (17:52):
Make it burns, Yeah, make.
Speaker 4 (17:54):
It hard rock.
Speaker 2 (17:55):
Hey, who's lifted to that guy? I need to find
a jugular? So that's right, Who's who's who? Who's lifted?
Speaker 4 (18:02):
Who's lifted to him? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (18:05):
I need to find a bag of blah Jonas.
Speaker 4 (18:07):
You're not a meathead. Stop trying to act like you're
a meathead.
Speaker 1 (18:10):
I mean, apparently I'm more meatthead than you based on
that music.
Speaker 4 (18:13):
Oh, you can appreciate different types of music.
Speaker 1 (18:16):
I'm sorry, it just doesn't seem very professional to me,
to be honest with you. By the way, two Pros
and a Cup of Joe here on Fox Sports Radio
coming up in about fifteen minutes from now from these
tire rack dot Com studios, you are going to hear
about some movement when it comes to the wide receiver
position in the NFL. One team could be on the
verge of making a move. We'll talk about that for
(18:36):
you again here in another edition of In case you
missed it, So we kind of floated this out there,
you know. Could there be the possibility of the Colts
making a switch at quarterback?
Speaker 2 (18:46):
Yep? Joe Flacco time.
Speaker 1 (18:49):
He is now going to get the start in Indianapolis
Anthony Richardson after the unfortunate decision to opt out of
the game on Sunday.
Speaker 2 (18:58):
Blacko taking bodies not the end of his career, Yeah, man,
like he's he really is.
Speaker 5 (19:04):
Guy's trying to get away from Aaron Rodgers, but they
ain't trying to get away from Joe Flacco.
Speaker 1 (19:09):
He got got by Lamar Jackson his final year, and
he's like, okay, all right, I'll never.
Speaker 2 (19:14):
Let one of y'all take over for me again. I'll
handle this all to kill this. Didn't he get this
John Watson last year? Yeah. So apparently.
Speaker 1 (19:26):
A team source with the Colts, I'm just saying, a
team a team source.
Speaker 2 (19:32):
With the Colts said that, uh, you know, this is.
Speaker 1 (19:35):
A quote unquote growth opportunity for Anthony Richardson. Uh, you know,
take taking a step back and be a good thing.
By all means, they're not giving up on Richardson as
their quarterback. But he basically just kind of gave them
they're out right like they're better with Joe Flacco. They
were better when Joe Flacco played. And so now Shane
Sigen's like, all right, this guy wants stopped out. We'll
(19:56):
let you opt out for the rest of the year.
Maybeang just handle like that, So go.
Speaker 2 (20:01):
Ahead, Q you to qb ye.
Speaker 4 (20:04):
What I think what's interesting about this is what this
does to Anthony Richardson moving forward. I mean, assuming Flacco
plays well the rest of the season, where does that
leave Anthony Richardson then? And I guess what troubles me
about this A little bit. I understand the Colts they
want to win right now. This This could be them
making a message or sending a message to Anthony Richardson
(20:27):
with everything that became public that you know this past week,
tapping himself out come out of the game. Maybe there's
something else, you know, behind the scenes going on in
that regard. I mean from watching him, What's what's tough
to like take away from it at this point in
his career is he's had a hard time staying healthy.
(20:50):
He's not improved by any means, his ability to be
more accurate from the pocket, cleaning up his footwork. He's
making kind of some of this, you know, similar mistakes
that he'll see him make from time to time. And
as great of an athlete as he is, if you
can't stay healthy, that doesn't really play to their advantage.
So we're into year two, he hasn't played a ton
(21:10):
of games, and yet you're still seeing the same mistakes
and having the same concerns you had two years ago
when he was coming out of Florida. And there's two
sides of this conversation. The first is like the Colts
doing this to him doesn't help his growth in some ways,
like the NFL quarterback position is an experience position. You
got to play the guy to see what you got,
(21:30):
and you have to go through some loves sometimes too,
when you've got to go, excuse me, you've got a
guy who's only started for one year and then barely
played his rookie year. You've got to be able to
at times find out what he's capable of, but go
through some bad experience in doing that. The other side
of the conversation is there's some fundamental things that you
(21:51):
need to clean up if he's ever gonna be the
quarterback you wanted to be, and playing games is not
gonna allow him the chance to focus on doing that now.
I don't I don't know that the rest of the season,
him sitting as a backup, him working every single day
is gonna be enough time in reps for him to
truly change mechanics and full work and things that he
needs to change. Once they get into a game, there's
(22:14):
so many things running through your brain that you really
need to kind of break away in the offseason and
focus on those one or two fundamental things to actually
make it change. When you get into a game scenario
and your body just kind of reacts in order for
it to do it the way you're training it to do,
because you've already got this foundation of how you've done
in your entire life. So it's why guys like Tim
(22:35):
Tebow could never change his throwing motion. He threw like
that forever. No one's gonna change that. All these different
quarterback gurus people, oh, we've changed it. I was like, Okay,
let's see what happens in the game, and it looked
like it was winding up a clock, and that's how
it's gonna be. So I'm not saying that's the issue
with Anthony Richardson. It's more full work things. There might
be some upper body mechanic things. I haven't really broken
(22:56):
him down like that, but the full work you can
very much see those things. It takes time to train,
so this gives him that time. But the problem with
that is is, like you're in the year two, we
seem to have a shorter leash on these quarterbacks now
more than ever. Look at all the guys that have
gotten benched and they're into their first year, rookie year,
(23:17):
and teams already want to move on. I mean, there's
it's a twofold conversation, the league has never been worse
for player development than right now. Your off seasons are limited,
you're hittings limited, So even for other positions, it's never
been worse. And then now the expectation is as high
as ever, where teams expect you to come in and
(23:38):
be able to perform at a high level, and they're
not working with you on the side for fundamentals like
they used to. I keep going back to that time
you had quarterback school when all you do would drop back.
If LeVar walked in with some of the d line
and they'd be laughing at us because like you, dude,
you got your all out there is dropping back the
entire length of field, no football, nothing, that was all
(23:59):
you're allowed to do. And you're watching film and also
their stuff that was going on. So this is the
worst possible time, unfortunately for him, because he's a guy
who needs development. Yet there's no time for it. No
one's got patience for that at the quarterback position.
Speaker 2 (24:16):
Yeah, I think that that's that's the continued theme.
Speaker 1 (24:20):
Time is part of it too, that coaches feel like
there are under they have no time. Yes, so it's like, hey, listen,
I don't have time for you to develop this I
need to win.
Speaker 2 (24:31):
That's correct.
Speaker 5 (24:32):
They're expecting you to have a certain level of which,
by the way, they should have an idea and an
understanding of that they're going to use a top draft
pick on you, bringing you in like it's not like, oh, well,
you know, we did all of this homework and we
felt like this was the grade he deserved and it
was the first round grade, and we're going to take
him in as a first round or this, that and
(24:53):
the other than all of a sudden, you don't feel
like he's developed enough. You know, there's there's a lot
of given take there, or maybe a gray area in
terms of how.
Speaker 2 (25:03):
They should be looked at.
Speaker 5 (25:06):
If you know that there are like mechanical issues that
need to be worked on, you knew that when he
was coming in. Now the question is, did you try
to work on the issues, as I think you kind
of alluded to with Tebow, if you felt like those
issues were correctable issues. Are you now at a point
where you're saying, well, we thought we could correct it
(25:28):
by now, But maybe it's due to injury, not enough reps.
Maybe it's due to him not being able to do
it well enough. Whatever it may be. Are you looking
at it from the standpoint of we have a better option,
and you know, we'll revisit this when we need to
revisit it. I don't think him pulling himself out of
(25:48):
the game for what it's worth. I don't think it's
egregious enough for this to be the end result of it.
Speaker 1 (25:55):
Do you guys think if he didn't pull himself out
of the game that he would have been better.
Speaker 2 (26:01):
He'd still be playing. Yeah, I agree, that's I mean,
I think a rough one.
Speaker 4 (26:06):
But by the way, I don't want to make it
sound like he's got a throw emotion like Tim Tebow,
and in no way does he. I don't see that
sort of like upper body mechanical breakdown. To me, it's
more his full work. There might be again, there might
be some other things, but he was a much more
fluid passer anyway, or natural passer. To me, it's that
they're trying to set an example. I don't know how
long this will go, but I think if they're truly
(26:30):
investing in Anthony Richardson, they need to look at the
fact that he barely played last year and almost still
say this is a rookie year. For him, and we
probably hate admitting that, but he needs to learn from someone,
and this is gonna be the guy he's gonna learn
from it. And I would think that Gardner Minshew was
that guy last year. I think Gardner does a lot
of the right things, and you know the way he
(26:50):
goes about leading a team, leading his guys. But now
I guess you've got another example of that in Joe
and Joe Flacco. So they're going to whacko for Flacco
guys just in Anneapolis.
Speaker 5 (27:02):
I don't know what the long term play of it is,
but if if you're looking at it from a standpoint
of trying to build longevity, I think we all know
it isn't Flacco. So is this, like you said, is
this setting an example like, hey, look, man, don't don't
do anything that's going to compromise yourself or this team
(27:27):
in that way.
Speaker 1 (27:28):
It's just the whole opting out thing, especially for him,
is wild to me from this standpoint.
Speaker 2 (27:33):
It's from anybody really. Let me just point this out, though.
Speaker 4 (27:37):
Why is it hard to understand We've allowed these young
people that are coming in the NFL now to opt
out of a thousand things in their life that's very true.
Like things get hard in college, go transfer opt all right,
Do you need a job, like, go get I always
tell you it's go get a crappy job. It'll make
you appreciate the job you have in the future when
you're doing something that for example, like hey, when you're
(27:58):
not playing pro football, it's hard to compare anything else
to it that that you love and care about quite
as much. But in all seriousness, go get a crappy job.
It doesn't matter what you're doing. You'll appreciate what you're
doing later on. And yet the reality is our entire
society has been built to allow kids to opt out. Now, Oh,
you're not feeling good, don't go to school? All right? True,
(28:19):
it's okay, don't go to school. You don't have to
do that like that. That's what we've done with this
generation at the divorce of athlete.
Speaker 1 (28:26):
And you and you almost can't. You almost can't criticize it.
Otherwise people think, well, listen, you know you've got to
give people the ability to mental health. Yeah, like they're
going to cite that. That's going to be their excuse.
Speaker 4 (28:37):
And you know it kills me by the way, not
to get off on a complete tangent. But whenever we're
talking about mental health, you know, we don't talk about
mental toughness, Like like, where is that for our psychologies
and sports sits and everything else? What does mental toughness
come into play? Like at what point do we go, oh,
we're worried about their mental health? Got it, understand that,
(28:58):
But now it's become a crutch for people who either
want to be weak and lazy, and they use that
at times when it's not about mental health. It's about
the fact that this is an opportunity to build mental toughness,
to build grit, and yet we don't want to get
young people to build those skills when they're going to
need it later on. Like like, I honestly, I'm getting
(29:18):
serious here and I hate them doing this because I
know we don't are not supposed to do that on
More Morning Sports. But the truth of the matter is,
and obviously Jonas like you can speak this more than
anyone else, there's going to come a time when these
young people are going to be living their lives without parents,
without people who can be that crutch for them or
have been that crutch for him them. How are we
preparing them for that, but the reality of being a
(29:41):
father for me at this point time my life is
trying to instill in them all these different habits and
traits that will hopefully make them a good person in society,
a productive person in society for a wonderful country. But
beyond that, it's preparing them for life without me. Every
moment they're not with me and every moment that wh
I'm gone. That's what I'm trying to do. And I
(30:02):
feel like we've now are raising kids in an era
where it's like, No, we don't want them to be
like you know, we don't want them to be like that.
We want to be aware, aware of their mental health. No,
I want them to be tough. I want them to
be able to sit there and say, yeah, I would
to push through this, I'm tired. I don't need to
take a playoff. I don't need to call a time
out like I can do this like I. That's what
(30:24):
I need is I need them to mentally be able
to say that. And so that's the problem for a
guy like Anthony Richardson is, of course we're raising all
these young people in a world where it's okay to
tap out.
Speaker 2 (30:36):
It's pathetic honestly, And it's I don't.
Speaker 4 (30:38):
Even put it really on him as much as what
we've created as like the older people and what we're
looking down at because we've we've were like complicit with it.
It's okay, it's okay if they want to tap out
or they want to take a playoff, and it's like,
hell no, it was never like that when you were
grown up. Var It was never like that when you're
when you're growing up.
Speaker 2 (30:57):
Jonas, No, And it's BS.
Speaker 4 (30:59):
And it's why I think when we look down the
road at where things are going, it's gonna be a
problem because we lack any sort of toughness that like
the future generations flipping had like my dad or his
dad and guys who went and served war and came
back out right back in the workforce, put food on
the table for their families. People who are getting up
doing that right now that had fathers like that or
you know, mothers like that. I mean, that's the BS
(31:20):
of where we're at right now.
Speaker 1 (31:22):
And it didn't happen when I grew up because my
parents wouldn't allow that to happen. That wasn't an option. No,
you go to work, you go to school, you show
up and if you take that approach, nowadays it's like,
oh yeah, this is a get off my lawn moment. No,
this is just stop, get off your lazy ass moment.
Like figure it out. And most times now to your
guys's point, that nobody wants.
Speaker 5 (31:43):
To do like, that's like now the exception to the
rule when it used to be the standard, which is said,
that's kind of saying.
Speaker 1 (31:50):
I'll listen, and I know we're late, but I got
it because my brother's kid who plays at Middle Tennessee
and works his ass off, and I remember him telling
me a story. My brother tell me a story that
one of his teammates was giving him a hard time
because he said, oh, you're one of those try hard guys,
and he didn't understand what it meant, and he talked
(32:11):
to my brother and my brother told him, no, it
just means you're outworking everybody. Yes, yes, what he goes,
don't let he goes. Don't let them steer you down
that path. You're out working them and they don't like it.
That's why they're trying to get you in that other mindset.
But is what it is. Two pros and a cup
of Joe here on Fox Sports Radio, LaVar Arrington, Brady Quinn,
(32:31):
Jonas Knox with you. So we do have an update
on some core a wide receiver movement rather in the NFL.
Speaker 4 (32:36):
That'll be yours here on FSR.
Speaker 6 (32:39):
Be sure to catch live editions of Two Pros and
a Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn, LeVar Arrington, and
Jonas Knox weekdays at six am Eastern, three am Pacific.
Speaker 1 (32:50):
Two Pros and a Cup of Joe, Fox Sports Radio,
LeVar Arrington, Brady Quinn, Jonas Knocks with the hair top
of next hour about ten minutes from now. Lots of
tryouts in the NFL, maybe a little bit too late
for one team, especially in the AFC. We'll get into
that discussion for you here on FSR, but right now
it is time for this.
Speaker 6 (33:12):
Sometimes he can't get to everything in the world of
sports or entertainment. Good thing the guys are here to
bring you in case you missed it.
Speaker 1 (33:21):
And for that we turned it over to our executive
producer Lea Lap.
Speaker 7 (33:26):
Good morning, everybody, Good morning, Jonas, good morning, Brady, good morning, LeVar, morning.
Speaker 2 (33:33):
Hey guys, the Lap, Hey LeVar.
Speaker 7 (33:36):
In case you missed this, the Ravens have officially acquired
wide receiver Deontay Johnson and a twenty twenty five sixth
round pick from the Panthers for a twenty twenty four
fifth round pick.
Speaker 1 (33:48):
By the way, Deontay Johnson's gotta pay everyday. He's gotta
feel like Andy Dufrain crawling out of the crap tunnel
in Shawshank just lifting his arms up going. You mean,
I get to leave Caroline and I go to Baltimore
with a chance to actually, like maybe go to.
Speaker 2 (34:03):
A super Bowl.
Speaker 1 (34:05):
So fantasy team, is it good for your fantasy team?
Speaker 4 (34:09):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (34:10):
He's gonna share a lot more time, I know with
Zay and Mark Andrews.
Speaker 2 (34:14):
You know, he said fantasy You know, well that used
to go to school together.
Speaker 4 (34:21):
You know, well, you know Lee, He's very comfortable with
that name because that's i'd say, his people.
Speaker 2 (34:25):
Yeah, okay, alright.
Speaker 1 (34:28):
By the way, Labari, if I if you ever found
out there was a white guy named Jay at that point,
I mean, the chances yourself it would be a name
that came from Ireland or somewhere.
Speaker 2 (34:41):
You mean, Zay is Irish? Where you from?
Speaker 8 (34:44):
Jose Dublin, Jose, Oh, Jesus. All right, what else? What
that was good?
Speaker 7 (34:55):
Hey guys, In case you missed this, Texans wide receiver
Stefun Dig suffered a season ending torny.
Speaker 2 (35:00):
Yeah that's sad.
Speaker 7 (35:01):
Yeah, bubber uh set become a free agent next offseason.
Speaker 5 (35:04):
By the way, thirty one. Horrible timing. Horrible time gonna
be thirty one. And that's complicated, you know, because you
got what took place in Buffalo. A lot of people
will speculate and say what they thought the real reasons
why he was out of there, which they're probably accurate.
Speaker 2 (35:23):
You know. That's that's a tough one.
Speaker 1 (35:25):
Man, Houston and the market for a wide receiver, they've
got it.
Speaker 2 (35:30):
They've probably gotta be now right.
Speaker 4 (35:31):
Yeah, yeah, you think so because they're banged up trying
to think. The sad thing too, is he was catching
a dec amount of balls in a lot of targets.
But it wasn't like he was, you know, exploding this
year either.
Speaker 1 (35:41):
So yeah, it's a rough way to go out, tough one.
Speaker 2 (35:44):
I know what else? We got lee no time for
this one? What do you mean?
Speaker 7 (35:48):
Jameson Williams uh traffic stop under investigation. We'll talk about
that more later in the series
Speaker 2 (35:53):
On all Charge stop on this segment,
