Speaker 3 (01:32):
Is everyone alive?

Speaker 2 (01:35):
And it feels like that it was like every day
that we don't know that we're all gonna make it.

Speaker 3 (01:40):
Back at one person in particular, can.

Speaker 2 (01:43):
I also say this, It happened again, boys, it happened again.
I was hit as soon as I walked out the hotel,
or what I should say, was walking out of the
hotel in the air that night, no our radio show. Okay,
is everyone else's last night at Super Bowl?

Speaker 3 (02:03):
Yes? And you're the only ones who are moved on
to the next day. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:07):
I will not say what prominent figures at Fox I saw.

Speaker 3 (02:12):
I will not say.

Speaker 2 (02:14):
I would imagine if you two guests, which I would
neither confirm nor deny who it was I saw getting
out at SUV looking like they were ending their night,
you would probably be.

Speaker 1 (02:26):
Able to guess, oh, as you were heading in.

Speaker 2 (02:29):
As I was walking out of the hotel, they were
coming in, and I was like, damn, it happened again. Nice,
this is like Vegas all over the radio. Or no,
you can guess the people who are well TV Big,
of all the people who are part of Fox, you'd
be like, all right, but yeah, oh hotcha Shady. Damn,

(02:52):
those are the first two you went with. Yeah, I
haven't seen Shady yet. I'll put this way. We have
seen one of them together, and the other one I
don't know that we've seen together yet.

Speaker 3 (03:08):
Michael Irving and he Michael Irving is a Hall of Famer.
He is a Hall of Famer gold jacket.

Speaker 1 (03:22):
Uh went and checked out the place Lucy's retired surf bar.
The Petros was recommending.

Speaker 3 (03:28):
Great spot for beers and sandwiches.

Speaker 1 (03:30):
Right, maybe the best shrimp talk I've ever had in
my life.

Speaker 3 (03:33):
Didn't think I was gonna hear that.

Speaker 1 (03:34):
Ye outstanding, cool, outstanding spot. Lee was hit on by
a what a drug addict? Who was he was? He was?
He was a big fan of Lee. I don't I
don't remember his name. I just the guy was trying
to convince us that he.

Speaker 3 (03:53):
Was drug addicts and drug dealers, big fans of people.
He was.

Speaker 2 (04:00):
I'm saying, it's like you're either their customer or you're
their friends, the recruitment or both.

Speaker 1 (04:05):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (04:06):
Yeah, well you were a great wingman, Jonas.

Speaker 5 (04:09):
Every time I got out of the conversation, you made.

Speaker 6 (04:11):
Sure that, uh to keep that Jonahs clearly was not
a great wing man. No, well, and he's not a great.

Speaker 5 (04:20):
Brady, he was, Uh he dropped your name quite a bit.

Speaker 3 (04:23):
Uh not.

Speaker 1 (04:23):
You know, he asked what my name was, I said Brady.
Because he tried to tell my name, I said, my
name is Brady. I didn't get a blast.

Speaker 2 (04:29):
You're so weeny, like no one would think that. And
I can't grow the facer.

Speaker 3 (04:32):
You can grow.

Speaker 6 (04:33):
I didn't say Quinn like somebody said, you look like
Ryan Day with a skin of your face.

Speaker 3 (04:39):
I already told you look like rich Davis. You and
Richard Damn. Yeah, oh a rich David.

Speaker 1 (04:46):
Hi, and then.

Speaker 3 (04:52):
Thank you, right y, look it up. I just look
at their facial structure.

Speaker 1 (04:55):
Of the beards like they look very whoa and we uh,
you know we This is where we talk about there
are two different worlds and lives that are being led.
And there was a point at I forget the cross street,
but near the casino where I headed back to go
buy something from my son and Lee went to the

(05:17):
French quarter by the way at at a quarter to
three and three pm.

Speaker 3 (05:24):
Yah.

Speaker 1 (05:24):
Yeah, And what happened after that? Only Lee knows you're
with them. I'm not sure what he wants me to share.

Speaker 3 (05:32):
We were with him last night, I was, I saw
you after that.

Speaker 6 (05:36):
I need I need to hear the story. The world
needs to hear the story. Lead to Lap clearly is
a part of the storyline of what takes place here
at the super Bowl and in every other show we do.

Speaker 3 (05:51):
We need to hear the details the deeps.

Speaker 5 (05:54):
Lee, Well, we kicked it off with a shark attack.

Speaker 3 (05:57):
From there, you go, that's a good start.

Speaker 5 (06:00):
You gotta get one of those.

Speaker 3 (06:01):
Okay, what's a shark?

Speaker 4 (06:03):
Well, they it's basically Vodkagin and then they fill up
a shark, a plastic shark with cranberry juice. And then
they stuffed that plastic shark into your drink.

Speaker 6 (06:16):
They stuffed the plastic shark into your what into your drink?

Speaker 3 (06:20):
How is that? Like? What are you talking about?

Speaker 5 (06:22):
So it looks like blood, So it looks like there's
a shark attack.

Speaker 3 (06:24):
That's cool. I like that.

Speaker 6 (06:26):
Okay, all right, So I drank that How much alcohol
you think was in that one?

Speaker 3 (06:31):
Good amount?

Speaker 5 (06:32):
It's kind of it's right there next to the hurricane.

Speaker 3 (06:34):
It's right there next to.

Speaker 5 (06:35):
It on the yeah, on the on the list, on
the cocktail.

Speaker 3 (06:38):
Then what did you do after that? Lee?

Speaker 5 (06:40):
We checked out the casino, just did a roundabout there.

Speaker 3 (06:43):
Did you touch any Oh? You had your drink in
your hand with.

Speaker 1 (06:46):
That time out? You forgot about the two j mo
O shots you did right after that shark attack, which
I trust your story.

Speaker 5 (06:52):
Lee, Well, I did forget about that.

Speaker 3 (06:54):
Those were forgot about that.

Speaker 5 (06:56):
I didn't order those.

Speaker 4 (06:56):
Those were gifted to us by her friend, the bartender,
and you wouldn't drink them.

Speaker 5 (07:01):
Also, so I had.

Speaker 3 (07:02):
To drink, which is about right. It's a little weany
like that?

Speaker 1 (07:05):
Also? Well professional we have work. So oh gosh, so
you're calling I mean, some people live different lives.

Speaker 3 (07:12):
I don't know, oh gosh, if you didn't have any
drinks last night.

Speaker 1 (07:15):
We had drinks, but took care of myself. Now, okay,
here's here's now, here's the other party.

Speaker 3 (07:22):
Here.

Speaker 1 (07:23):
I am here, Lee Boy Lee walked down the elevator
at one o'clock with a tall boy of Miller light already.

Speaker 3 (07:32):
Yeah, well, it's not going to do anything to leak. Okay,
that that was the That was. That was beer.

Speaker 5 (07:38):
That's what I called my nightstand. That was that was
sitting on the night stand from there from the night before.

Speaker 1 (07:44):
And some people have a glass of water.

Speaker 6 (07:46):
So it wasn't a fool tall. It was like it
was left over. It was like a third of a
tall warm beer with backwash.

Speaker 2 (07:53):
Alright, let's catch back up there after three fan like,
how the hell did we get here?

Speaker 5 (07:58):
Well, so I had a great time.

Speaker 4 (07:59):
I walked the order, I did the Historic District, the
a bunch of different districts.

Speaker 5 (08:03):
I went to Jackson Park.

Speaker 2 (08:05):
Uh, you didn't do a good job documenting it, Like
we were getting videos throughout the day.

Speaker 3 (08:10):
Yeah. At one point you were tapping a pony and
you were laughing. Yes, yeah, I saw that.

Speaker 4 (08:15):
Well, we saw the Clydesdale's getting shipped into the first
off again.

Speaker 3 (08:19):
It started with the pony. There was a little the
clydes a whole bunch of policemen.

Speaker 2 (08:23):
But Lee was giggling with the pony and the Clydesdale
comes by. He goes hell yeah yeah, like was.

Speaker 4 (08:32):
Like yeah, and I had I had a hand grenade
in my hand at that time.

Speaker 3 (08:36):
Yeah, that was part of the problem.

Speaker 4 (08:39):
So yeah, me and Jonas actually saw the Clydesdales getting
uh escorted into town by the police.

Speaker 1 (08:45):
Yeah, and were just in trucks horses Maneah they are,
Yeah they were.

Speaker 3 (08:50):
But you saw them right there in front of you,
and you were excited about Yeah, yeah, because it was popped.

Speaker 4 (08:56):
They were getting their fresh air, they were stretching their
legs and yeah, they had gotten out of the trucks
and uh getting paraded around the French quarter.

Speaker 5 (09:03):
So I saw that was very excited.

Speaker 4 (09:05):
I'd probably had about a two three hour walk about
just town before I even went into a bar. I
found a good place called the Spotted Cat, where I
watched some jazz, and then made my way back to Bourbon.
I hadn't gotten to Bourbon Street yet. Bourbon is where
it went it went bad. That's where I met it
with Jonas.

Speaker 3 (09:25):
Yeah, yeah, So Jonas turns on his wing man, you
know his role. He turns that on, right.

Speaker 4 (09:34):
I think I had hit up p Obs and Tropical
right before Jonas showed up. So I had the hand
grenade I had.

Speaker 1 (09:46):
You're thinking about the paddle sports radio. What are you
thinking about?

Speaker 3 (09:50):
Well? I called great man.

Speaker 5 (09:51):
Yeah, great guy I called, and I always called it.

Speaker 1 (09:53):
Okay, teacher, but all right, so you we start walking
around and at some point story.

Speaker 6 (10:02):
Is boring, Okay, fast forward. I want the deats. I
tell him, oh no, there's the left. I tell him,
we've got to eat all we need. Like, when's the
last time you ate? It was at the Lucy's Bar whatever.
We go to this place and they've got oysters. They've
got like he's by the way, he's mangled.

Speaker 1 (10:23):
We sit at the bar, they've got oysters. I'm like,
you know, just get some pasta whatever, it'll fill you up.
He's about halfway through his pasta and decides his body
just says, you know, we've had about enough here. And
next thing you know, he's falling asleep and his food
is being pushed off the edge of the bar. And

(10:44):
the guy who the guy who is left goes.

Speaker 3 (10:46):
Are you off your mat?

Speaker 1 (10:47):
That's somebuddy, Are you off your beds? The guy who
is left is like you all right man. I'm like,
all right, Lee, we got it. We gotta get out
of here. So so we, uh, we get out of there.
I'm like, all right, I got an uber. Let's go.

Speaker 3 (11:07):
We go.

Speaker 1 (11:07):
We get this uber and it's we're walking down the
street and I'm all, we got to walk up there
and grab it. So we walk up to get the
uber and we get in and I FaceTime my wife
and I'm talking to her my son, and I know.

Speaker 3 (11:22):
You hate that, like because you have to drop it.
It's unnecessary.

Speaker 1 (11:25):
Well, it's a detail to the story. And if you
want the story, I'm giving you the detail of the story.
I mean, like, there's nothing.

Speaker 2 (11:32):
Wrong with you just trying to paint the picture that
you were distracted a family man.

Speaker 1 (11:39):
It's creating a contrast to the story. It's called storytelling.
So don't worry. I'll teach you about it later. So
we're in the we're in the uber and I look
over to Lee and he's got his shirt on his head,
and I'm like, what is going on?

Speaker 3 (11:56):
And I look underneath.

Speaker 1 (11:56):
There's blood coming down. I'm all, what happened? And he's
he pulls his shirt down and somewhere along the walk
from to the uber.

Speaker 6 (12:08):
No, you walked. He was trying to catch you wing man.
The wingman left and departed for the Uber. Lee panicked.
Lee panicked because he thought you were getting away from him,
and he ran.

Speaker 3 (12:26):
He starts to run. Jonas didn't even know that Jonas
and we weren't running.

Speaker 2 (12:32):
This is the part where Jonas tells a story where
he thinks his opinion matters or his perspective.

Speaker 3 (12:37):
Man doesn't. What did you say that ended up falling? Thought?
He was? I like, why?

Speaker 7 (12:45):
Why were First off? I was why was there disconnect
between you and Jonahs? I was trailing behind why? I
forget why? But I was trailing behind. I just see
Jonas kind of way up ahead. I know we were
getting an uber.

Speaker 3 (12:55):
I was like, oh, did he walk away from you?
Or did you? Were you just like staring off.

Speaker 5 (12:59):
I was probably distracted by something.

Speaker 6 (13:01):
All right, like Clydesdale's probably yeah, and I knew I did,
oh class Dale, And I was crossing the street, was
running across the He twinkled toe, He twinkled those curves
are like at least a foot they are high.

Speaker 3 (13:15):
Yeah, yeah, high curve.

Speaker 1 (13:17):
I caught the curb.

Speaker 3 (13:18):
You definitely caught the curb caught you.

Speaker 5 (13:20):
Curve cut me.

Speaker 6 (13:22):
I got a bit so you went down you.

Speaker 3 (13:26):
Now, where are the injuries? Lee? Let's pinpoint the injuries.

Speaker 2 (13:31):
You got a scary hit your like, how your arms
not like catch you because you fell forward?

Speaker 5 (13:36):
My arm, my arm is uh, my left arm banged.

Speaker 3 (13:40):
But I'm saying, like you got a scarecrow? Now were
you passing out on your.

Speaker 6 (13:45):
Everyone out there if if you were wondering what the
mental visual of Lee's face, his nose looks like the
scarecrow knows.

Speaker 3 (13:54):
Are you sure you get punched in the face?

Speaker 5 (13:56):
You hit your face? Yeah, I hit my face.

Speaker 3 (13:58):
It looks like you might have got hitting the face.

Speaker 1 (14:01):
That's what I thought.

Speaker 2 (14:02):
Take your hat, thought, show your head. Let me see
your head showing the head. Somebody like hits you and
you didn't drop.

Speaker 5 (14:10):
I mean that could have happened.

Speaker 2 (14:11):
Because I'm saying, is how do you fall forward and
not catch yourself with your arm?

Speaker 3 (14:15):
There's no way face. Look at his nose, that is
that is clearly a slide. He's slid chance you just
he did it.

Speaker 5 (14:24):
I was running full speed.

Speaker 3 (14:26):
I know what that that. That's the way we've seen
his full speed. He's got a little gido, he's got.

Speaker 6 (14:29):
Some get ups, and he's slid because that's that's what
you do. I was in shock.

Speaker 1 (14:36):
But you didn't see him from no, because the amount
of time between getting in the uber and when he
walked in was holding his shirt over his head with
blood coming out was so small that I couldn't figure
out how did that happen?

Speaker 3 (14:47):
Was I just saw you? You didn't notice that your wingman?
He was But that's why he was running.

Speaker 1 (14:53):
Listen, we're not talking about multiple blocks away. We're talking
about right around the corner.

Speaker 6 (14:57):
And I mean he couldn't see you, bro, he was
trying to catch up to you, like he panicked.

Speaker 3 (15:03):
That's what that was. Lee. Did you panic? I hope?
Did you panic? So account you're with him when all
this happened, So did you panic?

Speaker 5 (15:09):
I think I was in I was like, oh, I'm
I'm going to lose them. I'm going to miss him.

Speaker 3 (15:13):
Yeah, I'm going to miss him.

Speaker 8 (15:15):
No, No, but so then what I don't know. Just
be glad, look your teeth. Let's see your teeth, your
teeth going. Yeah, just be glad. I saw a guy
do the same thing. He faced planted, and his teeth
were still on the ground. Man, they might still be
there to this day. That's like twenty years ago.

Speaker 1 (15:37):
I had a buddy who face planted on a curb
in Arizona the night before. He was going for a
job interview at this bank. Oh no, and he showed up.
He was destroyed. He showed up and they hired him
because he's told made up some story about he had

(15:57):
gotten in an accident like the movie Whip Black. But
he wanted the job so bad that he didn't want
to like call out or anything, so he didn't want
to reschedule. He got the job because of that. But yeah,
lost his teeth, same thing, face planned it, hit a
curb and knocked out all his teeth.

Speaker 6 (16:11):
I think the moral of the story is is Lee
is actually a much better He has proven to us
he's a much better athlete than what maybe even originally
thought of.

Speaker 3 (16:22):
The double move was epic.

Speaker 6 (16:24):
That was an and almost put the dude on on
his can and caught the deep ball from from you.
And then yesterday what seemingly could have been pure disaster.
He adverts it. And he's slid. He didn't plant, he's slid.
He's a glider like he's. Lee is a when I

(16:45):
go down, I go down, and I know how to
break the fall.

Speaker 3 (16:48):
He glided, He glided on the face. He didn't plant
the face, but.

Speaker 1 (16:53):
He didn't go right palm down because his knuckles are
banged up too, so he wasn't able to get the
right palm down.

Speaker 6 (16:58):
That scidded that Well, what that is is he's from California,
so you gotta understand that's that natural defense mechanism is
to start paddling right like as the as the wave,
you gotta start paddling. So Lee started, He hit the
he hit the knuckles off the ground. Now now we've

(17:19):
gotten to the bottom of it here and his shoulder
is a little sore. So that meant that he was
trying to catch the wave.

Speaker 3 (17:27):
That's all. Yeah, it does.

Speaker 1 (17:30):
Listen hell of a time with Lee the last and you.

Speaker 6 (17:34):
Had a great time at the bar by the way.
You know, saw a lot of you know, friends, old friends,
current friends to him obviously, and you know, colleagues and
different things. Current colleagues to him, of course. Yeah, not
to me. Yeah, let me tell you something about you.
We got to break these people love them something like

(17:57):
I knew it, Like I joke about, oh, Q's a
good looking dude.

Speaker 3 (18:01):
Q Q thatt damn q Q. Keep going man. The
people be like, you know how somebody like we'll say something.

Speaker 6 (18:10):
They'd be like, yeah, oh yeah, yep, yeah, okay, yep,
and then they go to the next head.

Speaker 3 (18:15):
Q be like, yeah, so I walked through the door.
Oh Brady, did you You walked through the door Brady.

Speaker 1 (18:25):
Courtesy laughs.

Speaker 3 (18:27):
I was like, oh, you gotta be kissed off. We
were posting up to be kids, were posting up with
Mike Linguard for a good amount of time. Yeah, we
were my kids. A gangster dog. By the way, he's
a gangster.

Speaker 1 (18:37):
Gun shot at home, showing up to show tomorrow.

Speaker 3 (18:44):
You uh a, Leah, shuck up. That's pretty good.

Speaker 1 (18:51):
That's pretty bad, mister professional. Mike ln guards walking through
the hall to walk into the media center yesterday, stops
with his cane and throws up a middle finger in
front of everybody walking bros.

Speaker 3 (19:09):
All right, well there you go. Yeah. Yeah, well, I
mean we could talk football now the NBA. Yeah, there
was some movement in the NBA.

Speaker 2 (19:18):
By the way, I feel like they're capitalizing off the
time pier with the trade deadline everything else. Also, it's
a rematch, so there's some storylines, but it doesn't feel
like there's a ton going into this.

Speaker 1 (19:28):
One because he Jimmy Butler, he's gone, He's out of there. Yeah,
nice little run.

Speaker 3 (19:32):
With Miami one. So yeah, it's but it.

Speaker 1 (19:36):
Is two pros and a cup of Joe here on
Fox Sports Radio. And the only thing that would have
made Lee lots say from the streets of Nola last
night would be a burner.

Speaker 3 (19:43):
You ain't lying.

Speaker 6 (19:44):
I don't know that he needed to have a burner.
Maybe he needed to have a burner used on him
and whatever.

Speaker 3 (19:51):
It is, let's be serious here.

you about how somebody has identified the missing piece for
a potential Super Bowl run for this NFL team. We'll
get into that for you here on FSR. I know
it's been obviously a little bit uncomfortable for Jimmy Butler

(21:14):
in the Miami Heat. There's only one way that he
can make things more comfortable. It's probably getting a good
night's sleep in that roy It is getting good night
sleeping on the same boys. With us being here in
New Orleans for the Super Bowl, a lot of lack
of sleep.

Speaker 2 (21:26):
I wish I was back in my bed at home,
courtesy of one and only Mattress Firm.

Speaker 3 (21:31):

Speaker 1 (21:47):
Yeah, so Jimmy Butler heck of around with the Miami
Heat until this year, and now now it's he is
gone and he has gone to the Golden State Warriors.
As part of the agreement, Reportedly, Butler will decline his
fifty two million dollar player option for next season. He's
planning to sign a new two year, one hundred eleven

(22:10):
million dollar deal that carries him through the twenty twenty
six twenty twenty seven season. So they've been looking for
another superstar to pair with Steph Curry, They add Jimmy Butler,
he goes to the Bay Area and the saga in
Miami for your Heat is over.

Speaker 6 (22:25):
Does that Does that change things for gold State? They're
at five hundred right now.

Speaker 2 (22:29):
So I was gonna ask that, but I want to
I want to first ask this.

Speaker 3 (22:32):
Let you go, you guys, what you got. It could
have been Kevin Durant, reportedly Durant, what we were talking
about soon?

Speaker 1 (22:38):
Yeah, Duran.

Speaker 3 (22:39):
They were talking about sending Durant to Dallas. Well then
it got to Dallas.

Speaker 1 (22:43):
Yeah, and and Durant had no interest in a reunion
with with Golden State.

Speaker 3 (22:48):
It kind of says a lot about a lot either
how that ended or well.

Speaker 1 (22:52):
Doesn't it like him?

Speaker 3 (22:53):
That's run its course?

Speaker 6 (22:54):
Though, don't you think him going back there State has
and him going back there would be.

Speaker 1 (22:59):
An admission of him acknowledging him acknowledging that. Look, I
might have made a mistake wanting to move away from
Golden State, so to come back there all these years later.
What's funny about that is I don't think people realize
how important, because it's Steph Curry's franchise, how important Kevin
Durant was to their success. They were in the finals

(23:22):
the two times they won it. He was the MVP
of both. He was the best player on that team.
And so with an opportunity to go back because Phoenix
has not panned out, and we were at the super
Bowl when the deal with Phoenix happened a couple of
years ago, it's not come close to anything that he
thought it was going to be an opportunity to go
back there in a system he knows, a place he

(23:43):
knows and said.

Speaker 6 (23:44):
I'm good, like I'm good here, but think about the
variables here, right, You've already won championships there. And listen,
Golden State is that's I mean, you know that's San
Francs it's San Francis. What what area is that that
that goal state? It's like San fran right, something like

(24:07):
that to that that effect that area. It's a nice area,
you know, tech place booming.

Speaker 3 (24:12):
It's not where it used to be, you know that.

Speaker 2 (24:13):
Yeah, But if I'm choosing, if I'm coming up Mattress
there just sleeping bags.

Speaker 6 (24:22):
Tang, if I'm choosing a place to come up short
on winning the championship, but we're decent, We're not bad.

Speaker 3 (24:33):
I'm staying in Phoenix I have the weather I have.

Speaker 6 (24:40):
Damn Yeah, you have good good places to eat, very
very fine, very fine spots to to dine. And you know,
it's just I think that a lot of people really
enjoy Phoenix. I mean, the tax situation is different. I
just I don't know. I feel like it's not. When

(25:01):
you look at Golden State right now, is it Is
it still a destinational place? And that cass It leads
me back to the question I asked before you know
us talking about you know, Durant declining to want to
go there. Is this a place that you still want

(25:22):
to go?

Speaker 3 (25:22):
Is this a.

Speaker 6 (25:23):
Team that still has the chance of being able to
win it all?

Speaker 2 (25:29):
Well, i'd said, Jimmy Butler obviously thinks so. Right, he
declines his player option, he signs a two year deal.

Speaker 3 (25:35):
So you got that window right now, and.

Speaker 2 (25:37):
Probably with STEP's age, he feels like and they feel
like this is the pairing that could make it work
for them. I just it's almost like a buyer beware
for me with that if you're a Golden State fan,
Because like I got to fall the heat and I
kind of watched how it all worked out and never
really worked out.

Speaker 3 (25:55):
I think quite the way they.

Speaker 2 (25:57):
Had hoped, especially at the end where they suspended them
three different times this season. So I'm a little concerned
for if that's the anticipation for Golden State fans, that
he's gonna come in and take a team that's five
hundred currently, get them into the playoffs, go on this
run through the West and be able to make the
NBA Finals. It ain't happening. I'm just gonna ahead and
call that right now. It's not happening, and so it

(26:18):
it may help improve.

Speaker 3 (26:20):
This team, I don't think there's any doubt about that.

Speaker 2 (26:22):
But this isn't like a recreation of what they once
had with you know, Klate Thompson, with Draymond with you know,
like and everything they've had in the past with Kevin
Durant too.

Speaker 1 (26:34):
Klay Thompson's injuries completely changed. I think what they envisioned
the future was always gonna be. They just figured those
two guys were gonna retire together, like that was just
going and Draymond Green was gonna be there and that's
just the way that thing was gonna go. And he
could never he never, he never got back to full health.
He was never the same player.

Speaker 2 (26:52):
But he's still playing it doesn't I think he could
have stayed for less money.

Speaker 3 (26:55):
I think it was it was never gonna be that well.

Speaker 1 (26:57):
I think he was over it. I think he was
over the system. He felt like he wasn't getting an
opportunity like he was in the past, and I think
he wanted to go.

Speaker 2 (27:08):
Do you feel like he's getting that opportunity to now,
I mean, that's the reality of it.

Speaker 1 (27:12):
I just don't. I think those back to back injuries
changed who he was as a player, which is why
they've been trying to find somebody to fill that void
with Jimmy Butler. Butler always struck me as a guy
who didn't really want to be the guy, the second
fiddle to somebody else because there were opportunities for him
to go and play with other superstars.

Speaker 3 (27:34):
Wasn't into it.

Speaker 1 (27:35):
Like he chose Miami because he was really the face
of that team for a while and then next thing
you know, that fell apart and he was looking for
a way out and this was the best option.

Speaker 6 (27:45):
I think he's a baller, and he's he's a beast
of a player when when he's playing. Clearly, I feel
like some of the things that we've seen from him lately,
you know, the way he does his hair for the
photo shoots, or you know, just certain things, painting his fingernails, like,

(28:06):
you know, doing the different color hairstyles and all that stuff.
I think he's gotten kind of a little away from
what made Jimmy Butler yeah, yeah, yeah. I think he's
been a little bit distracted from being the best player
that he can be as a player. I think a
lot of stardom has come his way since well probably

(28:30):
since the COVID year. I think a lot of attention
has come his way. I look at Jimmy Butler, I
don't I think he obviously he if he brings the
a game that Jimmy Butler can bring, he makes this
Warriors team a better team. But does he really move
the needle enough for this this Golden State team to

(28:53):
go and in the right direction.

Speaker 3 (28:56):
I would say today that's a definitive no for me.

Speaker 6 (29:01):
I mean, I look at some of the other teams
that that are out there right now. The Thunder they're
continuing to mature and come into their own. They get
they got a ton of talent.

Speaker 1 (29:12):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (29:12):
You see the Grizzlies, you know.

Speaker 6 (29:15):
They're they're maturing that John Morant hasn't gotten into any trouble.

Speaker 1 (29:19):
That was another Memphis was a team Jimmy Butler that
was in conversation and he wouldn't go to Memphis for
whatever reason.

Speaker 6 (29:27):
That was just to tell because I don't as you're
not going to be like you said, like that's John Morant's,
that's his team.

Speaker 3 (29:36):
You know.

Speaker 6 (29:36):
You you look at the Rockets, The Rockets are like,
that's a really really talented team.

Speaker 1 (29:41):
They play hard, man, they they play some by Udoka
can coach. I know you got you know run out
in Boston for the affair or whatever happened.

Speaker 3 (29:50):
Yes, I just I just do.

Speaker 6 (29:53):
Those top tier teams in the West, those those those
top names and the top slots are now in my estimation,
rapidly changing.

Speaker 3 (30:03):
It's not the Golden State.

Speaker 6 (30:05):
It's it's not you know, even the Nuggets have slipped
down in terms of what what what it looks like
for them to be able to come out of the West.
It's a very very competitive West right now. I mean
you even look at the Timberwolves parody. There is anyone's
gonna as Boston. Okay, I don't, I don't, okay, see

(30:26):
can I mean the Rockets, the Grizzlies.

Speaker 3 (30:30):
Okay, see the Rockets.

Speaker 6 (30:33):
I think are all teams out of the West that
could possibly win it, and and more so, I think
Oklahoma is in prime position to be that team. I
know a lot of people say we don't talk basketball
very often or whatever, and I saw people make comments that, oh,
we don't know anything about Actually I do pay a
lot of attention to to the NBA, and I know

(30:54):
we talk about it off air a lot.

Speaker 3 (30:57):
Uh.

Speaker 6 (30:58):
I know enough about basketball to tell you these are
the teams that are competitive teams. These are the teams
that aren't competitive teams. And a lot of the players
that are on the teams that I just mentioned have
been young talents that are now again starting to come
into their own. The teams are are showing that, you know,

(31:20):
they're they're definitely primed.

Speaker 3 (31:22):
To be able to compete for the West.

Speaker 6 (31:24):
And you're looking at teams like the Nugget excuse me,
the Warriors that aren't. They haven't gotten better. Jimmy Butler
makes them better. But this is not a team that
has moved in the direction of they're going to contend
for the West. I don't I don't see that.

Speaker 1 (31:43):
And by the way, for people out there that are like, well,
you guys, don't talk NBA because a lot of the
NBA sucks, Like what do you want? The storylines are bad,
the games are awful. It's like a the owner of
a restaurant, like you never eat here, your food sucks.

Speaker 3 (31:57):
Like the Cavaliers too about it.

Speaker 2 (31:59):
I like Cleveland, we'll see if they can get over
the you know, Boston and the playoffs. But my response
would be you don't watch, So don't sit there and
say like, well we don't talk, Well, you don't watch either.

Speaker 3 (32:09):
Look at the ratings.

Speaker 2 (32:10):
If you would participated and watch the actual games, maybe
won't be dumping on their ratings, dunking on the rings
the whole time. So we talked trade deadline. We'll get
to them once they get into the playoffs, they get closer.
And do you want us talk about the n season tournament?
No one cares and Rings we're down for that.

Speaker 1 (32:24):
Too, And you know what, that'll wrap up our NBA cover.
You go there, you go. We did it, folks, we
did it.

Speaker 3 (32:34):
What do you want to talk about? W n B
A aby asked for a trade. I mean, we'll get somebody.

Speaker 1 (32:41):
Let an owl in here.

Speaker 3 (32:42):
Dang, I'm just saying, you want to go w N
be able to talk about it? Yeah, I mean, I
bet you. I bet you.

Speaker 6 (32:48):
Caitlyn Jenner is going to be at.

Speaker 2 (32:52):
The Super Bowl with Taylor swim walking out of the
cell for that reason.

Speaker 3 (32:57):
Yeah, I mean, she's going to be there. It's going
to be in attendance.

If we turn it over to our executive producer, Lead Lap,
good morning.

Speaker 6 (34:25):
That's a very somber good morning, Good morning, good morning.

Speaker 3 (34:29):
Never met it, Moran Jonas.

Speaker 6 (34:33):
The energy isn't there though you need rest, I always need.

Speaker 1 (34:40):
I mean, he just suffered CTE on Bourbon Street, so
cut him from slack here just fighting through it.

Speaker 3 (34:46):
Some people called time travel guys. In case you miss this, damn.

Speaker 4 (34:50):
One of the biggest storylines obviously is Saquon Barkley. Uh,
you know, was a free agent if you signed with
the Eagles. Another one of those running backs was Josh Jacobs.
Last season, released by the Raiders, signed with the Packers.
He was asked about his offensive UH teammates how the
wide receiver room is looking. He was very complimentary of
the young wide receiver room, but did leave room for

(35:12):
the possibility of adding a number one.

Speaker 5 (35:14):
Listen to what he had to say.

Speaker 10 (35:16):
You got a really young mover. Receivers all can be
really really really specially, but I think personally we need
a guy has proven to be a number one already.
So somebody that's gone and we know it's gonna be
a little bit more consistent that maybe played here before.

Speaker 3 (35:31):
He come at the right, He come at the right somebod,
would you know? Maybe I've had to.

Speaker 5 (35:39):
Take alluding to tay or Dante.

Speaker 3 (35:42):
Devant Adams going back.

Speaker 1 (35:45):
I don't think he wants I don't think he wants bat.

Speaker 3 (35:47):
I mean, I was gonna actually say t Higgins, I
would love.

Speaker 2 (35:50):
That's a nice one. That's makes a lot of sense.
It's a good opportunity for him. They might get him
at a price. It's a little less than one of
the toppers.

Speaker 6 (35:57):
I mean, but with Davante Adams at this moment still
command top tier dollar.

Speaker 3 (36:03):
I think that might be you already, you know.

Speaker 6 (36:07):
But well, look at it show if he chose to leave,
because I mean, we could speculate on why he chose
to leave, but I mean there's two reasons, right, one
either because Aaron Rodgers was leaving, or two because you
wanted to have you didn't know what was going to
happen with Jordan Love. Jordan Jordan, Did I get it right?

Speaker 3 (36:26):
Jordan Love?

Speaker 6 (36:27):
Yeah, I got right, and he wanted to go see
what would happen with his teammate and with carr uh
and in Vegas. I don't think that it would be
a horrible thing for him going back now that Jordan
Love has shown that, you know, he's he's a legit
quarterback in this league. Now that that's there for him,
I just think it's Higgs Higgins sounds fire. Though that

(36:50):
does sound fire, I.

Speaker 2 (36:52):
Just think there's a more realistic opportunity of them being
to work that out. It is interesting in the season though,
remember how they talked about, you know, that not being
the issue with this offense, so they didn't need a
number one because they could spread it around and kind
of use a bunch.

Speaker 3 (37:06):
Of different guys.

Speaker 2 (37:07):
And now you hear a player being like, yeah, actually
it'd be nice for me.

Speaker 3 (37:11):
Sat off the face of loaded.

Speaker 1 (37:12):
Box and Christian Watson's going to be out for a
majority of next year or two.

Speaker 3 (37:17):
Right, the late injury suffered.

Speaker 1 (37:20):
What else we got?

Speaker 5 (37:21):
Late will Guy's not the best Cup secret. But in
case you missed, it was reported yesterday that at the.

Speaker 4 (37:26):
Start of the new year, the Falcons are expected to
release Kirk Cousins just one year after signing his four
year one hundred.

Speaker 2 (37:32):
Eighty million dollars to say, and when you get ninety
one hundred million guaranteed.

Speaker 5 (37:36):
Yeah they guaranteed.

Speaker 2 (37:37):
Yeah sweet, So it basically one hundred million guarantee for
one year, not even the full year.

Speaker 1 (37:41):
I did like how he admitted that, yeah, it got
hurt in that Saints game, and that what That's what
led to my decline, even though at the time they
both denied it, him and the team and said.

Speaker 2 (37:52):
My question is how do you combat that for the
betting public, Because that's why my mind goes to the fans. Yeah,
that's out there who felt like he got injured. They
know what they're singing watching? Yeah, and I guess what
do people say, just don't make the bet then. But
the truth of the matter is, like we have all
these things in place to make sure these guys report
their injuries and we get it out there so people

(38:14):
can make a wise decision that could be fantasy related,
that could be betting related. That's what kind of bothers
me about the whole situation outside of how ridiculous it was.
They gave him that deal in the first place and
still draft Michael Pennix, Like, I get it, you went
and attacked that position in the off season, and so
you went about it two different ways. But I guess
if I mean, look, it's not my money, so if
other playing doesn't care, then that's all that matters.

Speaker 1 (38:35):
Like Kirk Cousins getting paid, he's probably gonna get paid again.

Speaker 3 (38:39):
Hall of Fame, Yeah, in the business of football. That's
good for him.

Speaker 1 (38:42):
Yeah, And LaVar raced him out of town, couldn't get
rid of him fast enough in DC.

Speaker 3 (38:47):
It's not sure I had nothing to do that do
with that.

Speaker 1 (38:52):
When did they know that he was better? When did
they better When did they know that he was better
than RG three there?

Speaker 6 (38:57):
When they drafted them the same draft wise, why would
you draft them A right our two Next
