am Eastern Time, six o'clock Pacific and ladies and gentlemen,
he's back.
Speaker 2 (01:14):
What up bar? Good morning, guys? What up? Sticks? How here?
He is good? He was vacation good. It's good. Yeah,
it was good. Uh well, I mean I just took
a break, that's all. Yeah, nothing in particular, just took
(01:35):
a break. Yeah, you know, take them every once in
a while. Did you go anywhere? Uh not on vacation?
Uh time. I went to Avalon New Jersey to Yeah. Yeah,
it's a nice, nice area, uh, to support for you know,
raising money for our football team and our athletic programs.
(01:58):
But more specific, this particular event was for the football team.
So it was good. Enjoyed it. It's beautiful, right, isn't
that right on the water?
Speaker 3 (02:07):
Yeah, it's very very seven Mile Island if I'm not wrong.
Speaker 2 (02:10):
Yeah, it's a pretty pretty elite town, like Pleasantville type stuff.
You know, it's interesting that sort of thing. All right.
It's a very very interesting place. I'll say, very nice though,
very nice. Huh yeah yeah yeah. Individuals out there, Oh yeah,
(02:36):
I mean not bad. The beach is not bad. The
beaches is they're not bad. Blow darts. It just depends
on where you're at in your life. You know, I'm old,
so I'm more of a scout, you know. But I'll
tell the sharpshooters, you know, what the degrees and what
(02:59):
the angles and how much wind is blowing and stuff
like that. I'll tell you that we have to shoot
that though. I mean, I was happy for my son
and the rest of the football players that that were
in attendance. So well, yeah, nice, nice, nice place.
Speaker 1 (03:16):
Well it's nice to have you back, and uh listen
to training camps back around the NFL. I feel we
are locked in, fully loaded. We've got actual football coming
up later on this week, we got the Hall of
Fame game.
Speaker 2 (03:30):
You guys getting me? But hold on, though, how was
it for you guys? Like, how was last week?
Speaker 3 (03:35):
Every just grind grinded? George just grinded? Yeah, you know
how he does.
Speaker 2 (03:41):
You weren't grinding either, bright? Yeah right. He always likes
to say that radio is grinding. I'm I don't see
it the same way. Yeah, So I would just say
the waking up part is a grind. That is a grind.
But today I mean waking up after being off, I
actually like coherent and I feel good. But anyway, I.
Speaker 3 (04:04):
Was, I was on your schedule too, because I was
on in Vegas for the Big Ten media days, So
you're right that that changes things, there's no doubt.
Speaker 2 (04:11):
About it a little bit. But this part of it,
I mean, how'd you gut what were you all talking about?
What was going on last week? All football? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (04:18):
It was just football, all football, more football, just football.
Speaker 1 (04:24):
It felt good, right, talking football? Yeah, that's what we did. Yeah,
I mean there was you know, it was NFL college football.
James Franklin, you know, not happy with Big ten media
days in Vegas and and all that.
Speaker 2 (04:38):
So I mean, what does Vegas have to do with
Big Ten?
Speaker 3 (04:42):
Yeah, James Franklin did ask you some great questions about that.
Speaker 2 (04:46):
But I don't know.
Speaker 3 (04:47):
It's going back to Indianapolis next year, so we'll see
if it ever makes it back to the West coast.
One thing that we discussed at length. I would be
dying to get your your thoughts on is Lloyd Howel
and the way he went Yeah, yeah, the way he
went about apparently disclosing and uh, you know, spending some
(05:12):
of the union funds.
Speaker 2 (05:13):
At a strip club. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (05:15):
I don't know why you're beating around the bush here, LeVar.
Speaker 2 (05:18):
What is tutsis like, uh, I mean, I mean it's
from what I hear. Uh. You know, no one's ever
told me about the wings. I will say this. I
hear that the variety of people that you can meet
(05:42):
at tutsis Uh. It serves the purpose of the variety
of people that would visit the place, is what I
would say. And Magic City as well too, now that
I heard their wings are good, you know Magic City? Yeah, yeah,
(06:04):
I mean, I don't know. I thought the whole thing.
It's just it should be embarrassing, is what it should be.
Right now, when you look at that, you're expensing the
report and you're saying that that's to be able to
build an experience for your players. Is funding a run
(06:25):
through a fall through of a strip club.
Speaker 1 (06:28):
Now you see they're under investigation for misuse of funds
as well.
Speaker 2 (06:33):
You know, really imagine now imagine you.
Speaker 3 (06:38):
Know, LeVar, could you imagine that we maybe actually took
the other side of this too and thought, well, hey,
maybe that was the cheapest conference room they could find, damn.
And so we started calling different hotels to see if
we could find the rate for the conference rooms to
rent in for a few hours. Yeah, just to see
if maybe Lloyd House one the union to solid one,
as you can imagine, a lee was unsuccessful take a
(07:01):
hold of could get a hold of well it was
it was morning, but they effort. I think we actually
called one live on air, so we did. We did
go the lengths to see if if maybe someone needs
to take to h Lloyd House defense on this, that
would be amazing.
Speaker 2 (07:17):
I don't I mean, maybe that is the possibility that
it was the only place that was available. And he's
you know, he's a Harvard NBA guy, right private box.
I gotta say, just because you are a person of
higher education and higher learning doesn't necessarily mean that you
don't do what maybe not necessarily as highly educated people do,
(07:42):
like uh, maybe visit a strip club or have a
you know, have a rented date. You know some people
do that. I just like, that is what it is.
I did.
Speaker 1 (07:53):
My favorite detail of the story is that he gets
off a plane, has a car pick him up at
the air for in Fort.
Speaker 2 (08:00):
Lauderdale and take them straight there for eight hours. Eight hours.
I'll horned up for you that you don't even want
to go home. I'm never I don't know that I've
ever spent eight hours anywhere outside of my house or
my my hotel. Eight hours. He worked a shift, He
(08:23):
worked a drop that f ad out of it. Damn uh.
He was working all right.
Speaker 1 (08:33):
So with somebody else multiples got straight out. Somebody else
got straight off the plane and just said tootsies. And
you know what that means. That means that it was exciting.
It was it was something that you were really really.
Speaker 2 (08:47):
Anticipating, and it was going to be that moment, his
time to shine with others. I would assume that's your Yeah.
Speaker 3 (08:58):
We talked about that though. We talked just the h
how dumble would be just to expense that and make
sure you put it down as that, you know. I
think they called it team bonding or something bonding.
Speaker 2 (09:08):
Yeah, Magic City, I mean that is team bonding.
Speaker 4 (09:11):
It is.
Speaker 2 (09:12):
I'm sure I'm certain of that. Yeah, there you go.
I wonder how many of those expense team bonding dollars
went towards throwing them in the air, like was it
just to pay for drinks? Was it just to pay
for a mission and private were area VIP area or
was it expense like and how much was it that
(09:34):
you were going to give to each player if they.
Speaker 3 (09:36):
Broke down, like, hey, guys, all right, the one thing
we're not gonna do is make it rain. Okay, we
feel like that's an egregious waste of money. Okay, you
go in that private room all you want. We're gonna
get some good food, good alcohol. We are not making
a rain.
Speaker 2 (09:50):
All right.
Speaker 3 (09:50):
We're going to the strip club. We're gonna have a
great time. We're not gonna make it rain though. Okay,
that's where I draw the line.
Speaker 1 (09:55):
And I will say, you take out of the ATM
and better I'm not end up on the stage.
Speaker 2 (10:00):
Yeah, don't do that. I mean, unless it's your own
personal car. But that's on you. That's your decision. But
all right, so here's the thing, right I have gone
to I have been to in my younger days. I
have been to a strip glove where it wasn't about
making where it wasn't about making it rain. It's about
(10:22):
the private room for everybody I was there, Like, it
was like, can I just explain this, like because this
was an experience and I thought it was pretty wild.
I hadn't been acclimated to like I guess there's just
a different way of doing things at each one in
each city. And I was at one in particular in
(10:42):
New York City, and I didn't know I was at
one at first, Like this is how green I am? Right,
I'm at a restaurant. The restaurant is really really nice,
and there's like, I don't know, there's like ten of us,
fifteen of us were hanging out and we're at the
table and they're bringing out all these nice you know
(11:04):
when you got with your buddies, you like just get
stuff for the table. They bringing out this beautiful, just
amazing looking food.
Speaker 5 (11:12):
And.
Speaker 2 (11:14):
Then these I mean when I say drop dead gorgeous
people came and started sitting at the table with us,
like in between us, and it had to have been
about ten fifteen of them. And then I finally caught
on that the homies was leaving and going to private
(11:37):
dance rooms. Right, they were getting private dances while we
were dining. So they leave, go get a dance, come
back and we're eating. How many times did Lloyd leave dinner?
Who Lloyd? I don't know who Lloyd is, wayde Howell.
I don't know if Loyd. I was never with Lloyd.
(11:58):
I don't even know the man, never met him. But
I did figure out that it was so like the
way it was being, like the way it was all
set up. It was so super discreet. It wasn't even
about throwing ones or whatever you make it rain. It
was about going to a private room. Now you're you
(12:18):
out there listening, you may be wondering, well, did you
go to a private room during that time? And were
you so green that you were like, oh, I'm not
gonna do it. The answer is hell, No, I wasn't
so green that I didn't go. There was one. There
was one in particular that caught my eye. And if
(12:39):
you know me, you know I like to believe I
have a very very fine palette in terms of what
my taste is and good looking women. And uh well
I went and got a pride some private time with
one of those good looking women. I have no shame
about it. And I did not make it rain. But
she did make a lot of didn't make a lot
(13:01):
of money money, And I did look at her for
two seconds and ask myself, why are you here? Why
are you doing this? You want to come with me?
I did feel like a saver for it for like
two for like two seconds, I felt like I was
gonna say I wanted to be a saver. And then
(13:25):
I had to realize and think back to myself. You know,
as soon as this experience is over, this movement is over,
and I go back to the table and start getting
drinks again and having food and laughing like nothing ever happened,
there's gonna be somebody else at the table that's going
to go to the room with her and maybe have
the same experience. So then you have to real yourself
(13:47):
back in and you got to understand that you're there
for the meeting, you know, the congregating of the minds,
the you know, the expressions of self to one another
at this place where you're dining.
Speaker 1 (14:00):
You fell in love once, She fell in love multiple
times that night. You know, she got options.
Speaker 2 (14:05):
I fought love, She fought lovers. You guys, you got
to remind yourself of these things, you know, because you'll
find yourself thinking irrationally, what's that was? J cole J
Leave her on the pole, that's where she wants to be.
(14:28):
There was no pole in this room. There was no pole.
There was well done. And you're not lying. I was
a younger, naive, more rambunctious, bolder, more muscles, more testesterone testosterone.
(14:49):
How you go, how you say it toone? Whatever?
Speaker 3 (14:52):
That is testone? Test testone? Okay, that's like testosterone with oregano. Yeah, okay, you.
Speaker 6 (15:01):
So it's just stosterone, Okay, stosteroni was Well it was
stosterone that that night.
Speaker 1 (15:14):
Hey, when you guys see the videos of training camps
around the NFL, you get the itch again?
Speaker 2 (15:19):
No, I got who what?
Speaker 1 (15:21):
This brings back all the old memories, all the good
old times.
Speaker 2 (15:25):
Nah, I sit there, I'd just be like, damn, how
the hell did we do it? Like, how did your
body do it? Like running around like that? Well you
could do it now though, right, working out and stuff.
What do you mean? Well, based on what everybody says,
how soft it just still it's still strenuous. I mean,
I think that's sometimes that's a little overstated. How how
(15:46):
how much you know the players are are taken care of,
you know, physically, I mean there and you were seeing
a lot of people go down by the way, You're
seeing a lot of injuries take place. I'm you know,
I'm I'm curious, and I know we're going to getting
to the conversation of it because of it, I think,
because of being training camp time, I'm curious to know
(16:06):
from Q as well. In terms of the idea of
I was talking to I was with a couple of
my buddies yesterday and we were teammates, former teammates, and
we were having a conversation. Is it getting a little
out of hand the workout culture of today's athlete. There's
(16:29):
something to be said about taking some time off for
your body. You know, guys are doing all of this,
like you know, round the year, every week, every day,
type of working out, specialized workouts, doing this, I'm doing that.
This amount of rehab or this amount of prehab, all
(16:51):
this stuff going on. Is it too much? Is it
leading to some of these guys actually maybe possible being
I know people say it's not there's no such thing
as overworking, but I feel like I would I would
debate that are these guys over working themselves going into
(17:14):
training camp? Is there a level of fatigue there? Even
though you feel good, you're probably you know, your your
levels are all perfect. You know, you got your your
your bags of whatever it is you're putting into your
ivs when you go do all this, You're what is
it the the platelets and all that stuff that everybody's
(17:36):
talking about. I just wonder is it too much? Is
it too much? Because I tend to think you got
to give yourself a break, man, you gotta take at
least like I think I took at least a month
off soon as football season was over. At least a month,
maybe a little more, but at least a month before
(17:56):
you really get back into it. I don't know what
you think, Oh, I don't know.
Speaker 3 (18:00):
I mean I always felt like I hated how there
was a gap between the OTAs and mini camp and
then training camp. I would have much rather there been
just a long lead up to the season. So if
you could, you know, extend the off season after the
season's over six weeks and then allow OTA's mini camp
(18:21):
and then you maybe have you know, a week long
weekend whatever and you get in for training camp. I mean,
I just I think I think part of the issue
is a lot of these guys are training and it's
not sport. Some of its sports specifics, some of it's not.
So you know, allow these guys to get into football shape,
which is what they're trying to get into when they're
working out anyway, and build from there. But like that
(18:44):
to me would be a better way of like building
up their body to sustain and deal with the you know,
the rigors of the NFL season. At least, at least
that's how I look at it. But I don't know,
maybe people like the break and that that's six week break.
I always want into a thicket. Like I kind of
had anxiety. You get like all these other build up
anxiety for sure, because in the back of your mind,
(19:04):
you're like, you can't go on a vacation, your whole family,
your girlfriend, whoever you're with. You're like sitting there on
the beach. In the back of your mind, you're like,
I gotta do go check you three hundreds, and when
I get back one, then I have to worry about
actually going into you know, training camp everything else. And
by the way, quarterbacks it's entirely different, it's not that
big of a deal. But for all the other players.
So when we be working out, dude, guys would be
(19:26):
like sweating that whatever conditioning test it was. I mean,
I don't know if three under yard shuttle test, but
that was like for Lineman, that was the biggest anxiety
driven thing that I think they ever did. They could
care less about the other parts of camp. It was,
could they pass the three hundred yard shuttle test.
Speaker 2 (19:42):
We did where gassers you had the fourteen there was
either there was one year we had and this one
had my anxiety way up. It was. I forget how
many up downs it was, but Greg Williams was the
architect of of this one in particular. And you had
(20:03):
to go down the field every every line you had
to do updowns and I forget how many it was,
but you had to start from the goal line every
five yards down like you had to do an up
down all the way down the field. But I forget
how many it was. But that one had me stressed out.
(20:23):
Then there was the forty tests. You had to run
what was it like, twelve of them, I believe ten
or twelve, ten or twelve, Yeah, you had to have
ten run ten or twelve of them. That one was easy.
The half Gasser, that's not that's what it was, had
not suicide. The half gasser or full Gasser. The full
Gasser was in New York. Half Gasser was was that
(20:45):
coach Shottenheimer. So there was a half gas er one
I forget how many that was. That one was a
little stressful. The full Gasser was super stressful. Because that's
that One's like I can sprint, but sustain, like sustaining,
I'm not good at to stay. It's not football, you
know what I'm saying. You're spreading across the field.
Speaker 3 (21:06):
Down, back, down back, Like when are you ever running
two hundred yards on one stead place?
Speaker 2 (21:10):
I've never I've never been good ass the state. Like
in college, I never passed a twenty minute test like
stuff like that. I just I couldn't do it. I
ain't have enough stamina.
Speaker 3 (21:19):
So a three hundyard shuttles is like a Gasser alloy difference.
You go fifty in back. Yeah, do that three times,
which I imagine being a three hundred pound lineman. I
mean you're doing that. It's a lot. And then on
top of that, you get like a minute arrest or
something like that. Then you gotta do it again. Then
you can admit arrest. And if you don't pass, you
gotta keep doing it till you pass it. Yeah, Like
(21:40):
that's the stupid part about it football specific.
Speaker 2 (21:42):
Or they won't let you, they won't let you anticipate.
You gotta doing it until you pass it. Yeah that's true. Yeah,
Well there you go. Memories. No, hell no, I don't
miss it. I like watching it, though, I'm gonna go
to I'll be in State College later on this week,
so I'll probably go check them out. They I believe
they check in today, so I'm excited to see them.
(22:04):
There's a lot of high expectations, a lot of excitement
surrounding the team this year. So yeah, I like to watch.
I don't like to. I don't know. I don't. I
don't look at it and be like, yeah, I need
to get out there, like let's let's bang some heads
like new. I actually feel my wounded body parts when
I watch live football like that. They flare up just
(22:26):
on watching, just off of my brain seeing what they're
doing out there, like ooh, how did he cut like that?
Or damn, that's a lot like those the agility drills,
all those things. It's a lot. That's a lot on
your body.
Speaker 7 (22:41):
Man.
Speaker 1 (22:42):
Well, we're gonna have a lot on our play today,
because we've got a three hour extravaganza here.
Speaker 2 (22:46):
Apparently there was a lot of body a lot of
on the expense report in case you missed it.
Speaker 1 (22:52):
Coming up later on this hour, we've got our FSR
i R an hour two of the program and with
lead to lapse. Still out, We're gonna have the Turn
of Coops leftovers to close up shop. All of it
is yours here on Fox Sports Radio. Up next, though,
you've got a Hall of Famer, a future Hall of Famer,
and maybe starting to mend some fences.
Speaker 2 (23:13):
We'll get into that for you right here on Fox
Sports Radio.
Speaker 4 (23:16):
Be sure to catch live editions of Two Pros and
a Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn, LeVar Errington, and

Speaker 7 (23:30):
Hey, we're Cavino and Rich Fox Sports Radio every day
five to seven pm Eastern. But here's the thing, we
never have enough time to get to everything we want
to get.
Speaker 1 (23:38):
To, and that's why we have a brand new podcast
called over Promised. You see, we're having so much fun
in our two hour show. We never get to everything, honestly,
because this guy's over promising things we never have time for.
Speaker 7 (23:51):
Yeah, you blobber lit lame and me. Well, you know
what it's called over promise. You should be good at
it because you've been over promising women for years.
Speaker 1 (23:57):
Well, it's a Cavino and Rich after show. We want
you to be a part of it. We're gonna be
talking sports, of course, but we're also gonna talk life
and relationships. And if Rich and I are arguing about
something or we didn't have enough time, it will continue
on our after show called over Promised.
Speaker 7 (24:11):
Well, if you don't get enough Covino and Rich, make
sure you check out over Promised and also Uncensored, by
the way, so maybe.
Speaker 2 (24:17):
We'll go at it even a little harder.
Speaker 7 (24:18):
It's gonna be the best after show podcast of all time.
Speaker 1 (24:21):
There you go, over promise it. Remember you could see
it on YouTube, but definitely join us. Listen Over Promised
with Cavino and Rich on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts
or wherever you get your podcasts. Two Pros and a
cup of Joe, Fox Sports Radio, LaVar Arrington, Brady Quinn,
Jonas Knox with you here. We have got a Hall
(24:42):
of Famer and a future Hall of Famer potentially mending
fences in the NFL that we're gonna get to coming
up here in just a moment or two from now.
But right now, it is time for the tire rack
play of the Day.
Speaker 2 (24:54):
Flay This that is gonna do it in that.
Speaker 1 (24:57):
Sum purchase walks it off again, so Morlans he.
Speaker 3 (25:01):
Touches first, US touches home, and the Brewers beat Miami
three to two.
Speaker 1 (25:07):
Brewers Radio Network on the call. That is your tire
Iraq play of the Day. For over forty years, Tyraq
has been helping customers find the right tires for how,
what and where they drive. Ship fast and freedback by
free Road has a protection with convenient installation options like
mobile tire installation ti iraq dot com the way tire
buying should be. So Terry Bradshaw had some criticism of
(25:29):
Aaron Rodgers a few weeks back and talked about, you know,
he should why would you want to bring him in?
Speaker 2 (25:37):
He should go back to chewing.
Speaker 1 (25:38):
On bark or whatever it is that he's doing, just
you know, went on a little bit of a rant,
as he's known to do from time to time. So
Aaron Rodgers was being interviewed by Kyle Brandt of NFL
Network at training camp over the weekend and he responded
to Bradshaw's comments.
Speaker 8 (25:54):
I've known Terry for a long time being a part
of Fox. Terry's a legend. He's an absolute legend. He
went forced to bowls. He's had a legendary career in
the media. But Terry, like a lot of people, doesn't
know me, and so he's got an idea of what
he thinks about me based on what I've done, the documentary,
(26:15):
what I've said, Darkness for Treat, whatever the hell you
want to talk about. I'd love to get to know
Terry on a deeper level. And I feel like if
he gave me a chance to get to know him,
they would have a good friendship. Because for me, I
have nothing but the utmost amount of respect and deference
for what the greats have done, because they laid the
foundation for us to be able to play in this
(26:37):
great game, to be paid like kings, and to carry
on the tradition of excellence that guys like the Bradshaws
of the world in the seventies and Bart Starr in
the sixties, and Lombardy and Joe Montana and Steve Young
and Troy Aikman and Brett Favre and all the greats
that have been over with Tom Brady, you know, we're
standing on the backs of those guys, and it's because
(26:57):
of how they played and how they carried them so
they were able to have this opportunity to still play
this great game, to get paid really well, to set
ourselves up for our future. So I'd love to get
to know Terry on a deeper level if he's open
to it, and maybe we can go choose some bark
or whatever the hell he's talking about together.
Speaker 1 (27:14):
So there was Aaron Rodgers over the weekend, and I
feel like, you know, when you hear that, you go yeah.
And maybe he could also sit down in men fences
with LeVar, who's been extremely critical of Aaron Rodgers this
entire offseason.
Speaker 2 (27:31):
So why are you trying to throw Lvar?
Speaker 1 (27:33):
Because I mean, bang bang, because I was just standing there.
Speaker 2 (27:39):
I'm just sitting there listening to the sound.
Speaker 1 (27:41):
I feel like we've been very supportive of Aaron Rodgers
in this journey, and not everybody's been a supportive or
has backed him up throughout this entire process of the
Jets and now he's with the Steelers and just a
lot of skepticism there.
Speaker 2 (27:57):
I'm not a hater of Aaron Rodgers. I don't hate
Aaron Rodgers. I am a person that will give critiques
and be critical and and and look at things from
a critical standpoint. And I have been critical of certain
things that are connected to Aaron Rodgers. I mean it's interesting,
(28:17):
like Terry Bradshaw, if he doesn't like you, he doesn't
like you. I mean that's what it appears to be.
I mean, he doesn't. He's not a fan of Mike
Tomlin either, and he's had some really really interesting things
to say about Tomlin. He was he I mean, listen,
when you won four super Bowls and you've done accomplished
the things that Terry Bradshaw has done, he's pretty much
(28:37):
bulletproof with what he wants to say about anything Stealers related.
And and so sometimes you just got to take situations
like that at at face value. You know, it's I
think he handled I think Aaron Rodgers and this particular situation,
I thought he handled himself well and and in the
(28:59):
way that he presented himself. And he's right, I mean,
he's definitely right. He Terry Bradshaw probably does fall into
that category of most people that are very critical of
him based off of the things that they see, and
and they base their opinions and their conclusions off of
(29:22):
things that may not necessarily be him in real life.
You know, I always say you know, I do media,
I get into character. And when you know, the person
that you may see on in in doing a show
and the person that you may meet in person may
be a different person because I'm not I'm not in character.
(29:44):
And while I'm myself pretty much when I'm doing doing media,
doing radio, just like in football, you know, the guy
that was trying to tear dude's heads off and knock
people out and and maim them and do all these crazy,
wild fit the cool things to to guys on pause
on the football field. That's not who I am as
(30:05):
the regular person. So if you're basing who you think
I am off of what I do here or what
I've done when I played ball in the past, that
that would probably be two different experiences. And and so
I get where he's coming from. I thought he handled
it well because he could have. He could have been
he could have been a you know, adversarial about it.
(30:27):
You know, he could have he could have maybe said
some some things that maybe defended himself more. But he
gave Terry Bradshaw's props and challenged Terry to get to
know him before he goes down that lane.
Speaker 3 (30:41):
Yeah, I thought I thought that was like the biggest
thing about it. I'll take a step back further. Knowing
Kyle Brandt who asked the question, and knowing Aaron, he
wanted Kyle to ask him that question like this was
teed up for him to come away looking like this,
(31:03):
and he had planned to kind of have this ready
for someone to serve him up a met ball and
knock it out of the park with his response. So,
you know, knowing him again, he's been at times doesn't
want to talk to the media, you know, but in
this case he chose to. I'm sure he was asked,
(31:23):
we're going to talk about this or I'm going to
ask you about this, and in his mind he's thinking, yeah,
please do because I've got the perfect response teed up
for this. So where it should satisfy hopefully any doubters
or people who are looking for a reason to not
like Aaron Rodgers who are Steelers fans. It's a call
to action for Terry Bradshaw and a challenge where if
(31:46):
you're going to be critical, all right, but at least
come get to know me first, at least chew on
bark with me. So I just think all the way around,
it was like a very calculated wise, like savvy response,
and you know it's it's again what I would expect
in this situation, especially this is all in last year.
(32:07):
It's like, what's the point in trying to lean into
that and create enemies If this is going to be
your your swan song, like your your final opportunity to showcase.
Speaker 2 (32:17):
What you're able to do as a quarterback. I mean,
I'm listen. He still has to get out there and
he still has to prove out And that's always the
kind of the complicated, I guess approach to a situation
like this is that Terry again, he's already accomplished what
(32:39):
he's accomplished. He's already what he is to the Pittsburgh
Steelers community because he's he's stayed in front of the media,
he has had a he had a brilliant career as
a player. You know, people would say, you know, I
mean people wouldn't say, the city would say, literally, the
identity of Pittsburgh was defined when he was a quarterback
(33:03):
for that team, like our identity as a city was
defined by the Steel Curtain and that offense with Terry
Bradshaw and Franco and Rocky Blier and and and those guys,
Lynn Swan. Our whole entire, our whole entire mentality and
(33:24):
how we approach things is very steel curtain, Like does
anybody actually chew bark? Though? Yeah, I thought that was
an interesting thing. I never heard of that probably has. Yeah,
it just seems like I've never heard. Are your teeth
in good enough condition to be able to chew on ives?
That's a terrible Would you get splinters in your mouth
(33:46):
if you choot? No splinters? Maybe? No, I don't think
you get splintered.
Speaker 1 (33:55):
Like you just think about all the bugs and the
squirrels that crawl up there. They're just dropping.
Speaker 2 (33:59):
There may be nutritional value in that though. God, I mean,
if you go into a tree, some trees you can
go in there and get honey. There's there's bees and
stuff in there. You know, I'm just saying allergic to bees.
Speaker 3 (34:12):
To the point of Aaron Rodgers' performance, can I give you,
guys the bar that's been set? You'd probably have to
go to Ben Roethlisberger's last year starting. That was probably
the last time, because I believe jos you kind of
brought that up. That's the last time you had a
quarterback who I think played consistently throughout the course of
(34:34):
a season at a decently high level, and those twenty
two touchdowns, thirty seven hundred yards completed, sixty four sixty
five passes, like he can do all of that. It's
very similar to, you know, when he was in it
with the Jets. As much as people want to critique whatever,
(34:56):
you know, his play was, it really ended up being
one year, even though he's there for two, and it
was still a drastic improvement upon what that had in
the past. However, you want to cut that up. So
the interesting thing about this is I'm not sure what
the expectation is for his performance, but I can assure
(35:17):
you if he stays healthy, it will at least be
at those numbers that I just mentioned in regards to
Ben Roethlisberger.
Speaker 2 (35:24):
I mean, it's going to be the best they've seen
in years. It will be the best they've seen in
five years. If he plays well, it will This will
have a lasting impact on his career because going into
the AFC North, he's going to have to be prepared
to go up against some serious defenses, and for what
(35:47):
it's worth, they're going to have to try to keep
up with these offenses. In the AFC, if he can win,
if he can guide the Pittsburgh Steelers to an AFC
North crown. I think everyone that has had anything super
(36:07):
super critical to say in terms of what the conclusions
are that people are drawing and not being a positive
one me one of them, Me being one of them,
we would owe We would owe not only Aaron Rodgers apology,
we would owe con an apology. We would owe Mike
Tomlin apology. We would owe the Steelers organization an apology.
(36:29):
But then on board. I think it's a long shot.
Though I'm as much of a fan as I am,
and I'm a Pittsburgh guy. I think it's a long shot.
Call me a skeptic. I think it's a long shot
for them to even finish second and in the division.
I think it's going to be a battle between them
and Cleveland for who brings up the rear in the
(36:51):
AFC North.

Yeah he oh, he holds it shot us justin Cooper.
Speaker 2 (38:16):
He shot us with the mic.
Speaker 1 (38:18):
Yeah, hoop, you want to explain why you're holding the mic?
Speaker 4 (38:24):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (38:24):
You know this this mic was just it's supposed to
screw into here, but it just completely broke off. He
was shooting us though. And should I should I should
I go into further details? Yes, yes you should. Uh
this uh, this broken mic incident actually happened several months ago,
long time. I thought it was repaired and then I
(38:47):
learned that it was just it was just taped together.
Speaker 2 (38:51):
Wow, so they didn't fix it. They just used tape. Yeah,
you couldn't see the tape. It has the exact same
snap point that it did. What are we doing?
Speaker 5 (39:02):
I don't know if that's how I was told it
was tape, but maybe it was on the inside, or
maybe they tried to using glue or something.
Speaker 2 (39:08):
Oh to get it to like stick and take like
get that little torque, you know what I mean?
Speaker 5 (39:12):
Yeah, little So it's like stripped, is what it is.
Oh no, it's it's completely broken. The plastic has broken
that it's supposed to like screw into there.
Speaker 2 (39:23):
Yeah, I've learned a lot since coming to work at
this station. Yeah.
Speaker 5 (39:30):
Anyways, guys, in case you missed it over because this
is and I don't know how you did, because this
went pretty viral. Nikola Jokic went viral. He was he
owns a horse in his races, horses in his native Serbia,
and he just won a race and he was overcome
(39:50):
with joy, started crying into his hands, hopped the fence.
Is just you know, he lifted his rider up in
the air with the cart, you know, in what's the cart? Yes,
with the cart, the entire car, I mean, with help
with somebody else, lifted the cart up in the air,
sprang champagne everywhere, crying, and then people comparing it to
(40:11):
his reaction after winning the NBA Championship with the Nuggets,
where he was just kind of going through the motions.
Speaker 3 (40:18):
Okay, hold on, hold on, he was carrying that team
with the Nuggets. He was exhausted, all right, this is
what's just a spectator of this case.
Speaker 2 (40:28):
Give him a break. I don't know, I don't like
I don't like it.
Speaker 1 (40:32):
How much money do you think he won on this race,
this carriage race, because it's probably a fraction of the
money he's made in the NBA, and he's that overcome
with joy. Guy really likes horses, man.
Speaker 2 (40:43):
That's what I'm saying. He's more passionate about this than
on Netflix, though, and showed how intense the whole approach
to trying to win a race is in horse racing.
I mean, it's the whole process of it and and
being like at the top of it, like being an
owner of of a race horse and the entire team.
I mean, I could see why you'd be overcome with emotion.
(41:06):
You know, a lot of it takes a lot of
It takes a lot.
Speaker 1 (41:10):
It takes a lot of people, say a dying dog
behind it, so that dog, that dog, so that that
horse doesn't get the same love and respect as like
godly cold blooded
