Speaker 1 (00:00):
Two pros and a cup of Joe. Fox Sports Radio
LeVar Arrington, Jonas Knox with you here. Coming up on
this Football Friday edition of Black and Drag. We're going
to talk football, because how about Joe Flacco forty plus
and still slinging it on Thursday night? What did it
say for the AFC North, What does it mean for
the Bengals chances moving forward? And what do you make
of these Steelers defense after that performance. We'll get into that.

(00:23):
We're also going to talk about speaking to defense Michael Parsons,
who's got thoughts on the way defense is officiated as
opposed to offense, and he's probably gonna get fined for it.
Somebody else who might hear from the NFL Zaiir Franklin,
who let it rip when it comes to Juju Smith
Schuster and the situation that took place on Sunday Night
Football a few days ago. We're also going to have

(00:44):
our picks against the spread for Week seven in the NFL.
Somebody in the league would like to have some pina coladas.
Albert Breer's gonna stop by Kurt Signetti's stanput and we've
got the leftovers. It's all yours. Coming up next here,
two pros and a cup of Joe in a football Friday,
Fox Sports Radio, bar flucking drack and we're back in

(01:23):
the sack. Whoa hold on? Huh? I got carried away?
It is two pros and a cup of Joe Fox
Sports Radio, LaVar Arrington, Jonas NOx with you Hare No
Brady Quinn. Look, there's been some you know, obviously, some
rumors floated out there that potentially whatever medication he took

(01:44):
for his pneumonia that he's been battling that flagged a
positive ped test. Sounds like an excuse to me. But nonetheless,
you piss hot got to sit this one out. So
it'll be LeVar Arrington and myself taking you all the
way up until nine am Eastern time, six o'clock Pacific,
and when we fill in and it's just us, it's
black and Drag because I look like Dracula and I

(02:10):
look like a black man. So we figured out dang.

Speaker 2 (02:14):
Yeah, just sensible, just a sensible approach to to what
the title would be.

Speaker 1 (02:20):
Yeah. Absolutely, uh So we'll be again this three hour
extravaganza here on Fox Sports Radio, and by the way,
brought to you by the Home Deeper home deep, home depot,
the whole depot home deeper. Yeah, Jesus Christ depot depot.
Makita tools easy for me to say, are built for
the pros who show up early with tools built the

(02:42):
last job after job, year after year. When the job
calls for the best, calling Makita available to home depot,
how pros get more done? How about that forty on
forty crime that took place last night on Thursday Nights
Football Day.

Speaker 2 (03:00):
So you're saying old the old man, the old men
would try and take each other out.

Speaker 1 (03:05):
Huh go out there just slinging it, man, he was
slinging it. You looked good.

Speaker 2 (03:12):
Hey man, Listen, he's playing with house money. He doesn't
have the same type of pressures and just kind of
expectations that that Aaron Rodgers has on him.

Speaker 1 (03:26):
Uh, he's he's.

Speaker 2 (03:27):
A super Bowl He has just as many Super Bowls
as Aaron Rodgers. Does you know? He's had quite a career.
He's had a lot of success. Not not quite the
storied the I guess the fanfare or the stat statistical
lines that that Aaron Rodgers has created during his career,

(03:48):
but nonetheless, Joe Flacco has had a tremendous career, and
and last.

Speaker 1 (03:56):
Night, I mean, that was a game you called it.

Speaker 2 (03:58):
You said it, look if it's a must win for them,
and it's a it's a it's almost like it's it's
a rap if they don't win this game. In a
lot of ways, just just based off of what their
record would have been. I mean, they go to three
and four versus being two and five, I think we
would all say, you're in a better position to make

(04:21):
a run for a wild card spot. Hell, you might
even be able to make a run for the division.
You just knocked off the division leader. So you know,
it was a very well played game. It was an
evenly matched game, which makes you wonder Jonas. I mean,
my my first conclusion when I saw them come back

(04:42):
down the field with that little bit of time left
put the field gold on the board, that that locked.

Speaker 1 (04:49):
The game in What are they with Joe Burrow?

Speaker 2 (04:55):
You know, it's like if you're evenly matched, because they
were even matched. Yeah, and in so many ways, if
you're this evenly matched, then what would they have been
if they had Joe Burrow? What happens if this team
is still alive when Joe Burrow is able to come back,
because I gotta be honest with you. Another person that

(05:17):
was accurate outside of yourself was Mike Tomlin, Like why
the hell would you trade that man within the division?

Speaker 1 (05:26):
Why would you do it? Yeah, that was almost like
Tomlin saying, you know, this could be a problem, like
this is like that guy with those weapons. I mean
that that And also I think to your point when
you talk about in Herb Street and al Michaels were
making the point last night during the game, like, man,
that was a massive turning point potentially in the season

(05:46):
for the division because if Pittsburgh wins that, all of
a sudden, this gets really uninteresting. They're running away. They're
running away with it. And Lamar want to be a
competitive team. Yeah, and Lamar Jackson's out and look, Lamar
Jackson's got a hamstring issue. Who knows what he comes
back from the bio, whether or not he's one hundred percent,
Like how long that's going to take through as correct?
And Baltimore's defense is still going to have injuries when

(06:07):
he does come back, and so like you just you
look at it, Cleveland. I mean, you know they don't
have injuries at quarterback, but they may as well at
this point, that's how bad that's gone. And so Pittsburgh
looked like they were just going to run away with
the division, and all of a sudden, Joe Flacco shows
up a week and a half ago and he's out
there slinging. Jamar Chase is such a beast. I don't

(06:29):
think I saw the stat that was up last night.
Jamar Chase got twenty five targets last night. He was targeted.
That was the most targets a single player had gotten
in the NFL since twenty fifteen when Antonio Brown got that,
Like that was historic last night. We have not seen

(06:50):
that in a decade. And they knew it was coming,
They knew where the ball was going and couldn't stop it.
Literally couldn't. And Joe Flacco's been there a week and
a half. It was that was really really impressive by
Flack on that offense on a short week.

Speaker 2 (07:04):
You know, statistically, when you look at it, the two
interceptions jump out at me that Aaron Rodgers threw. The
one was just very very I don't know, just okay,
I'm gonna throw it up like it was just a
very very, a matter of fact type of pass deep

(07:27):
ball and I didn't understand it, like it was like
he threw a punt. I didn't understand that that play.
But you'd have to assume, and those type of games,
protecting the ball is is paramount. I mean, it's it's
it's obviously important in every game that you play, protect

(07:47):
the ball, don't turn the ball over. But it was
interesting because Joe Flacco, while he only threw one less
one shy of before that that Aaron Rodgers threw, which
I mean you got to assume in most cases, more
often than not, if you see a stat line where
where Aaron Rodgers has thrown for four touchdowns, they probably

(08:11):
win that game. Yeah, it's just that you win against
the team that has a ton of talent, and they
put a guy at the helm that is very familiar
with the AFC North, so he has no fear of
any of those teams, and and he operated, he did
what he needed to do. You know, again, I could

(08:35):
come away from the game saying, I said it on
the show yesterday, they haven't really had a signature win.
Maybe the Vikings I could say is a it was
a quality win for them, but I don't know that
it's a signature win.

Speaker 1 (08:50):
Yeah, even that one was international and they almost gave
it away. They almost lost that game. Yeah, they almost
lost that game.

Speaker 2 (08:57):
I just you know, I just haven't seen a signature
win from this this Steelers team just yet. But they
look competitive. So I'm not gonna I'm not gonna be
on some I told you so, maybe their fool's gold whatever.
But I mean they didn't allow a sack, which means

(09:17):
they did pretty well protecting Aaron Rodgers yesterday. Uh, they
established a run game, not the way that that the
Bengals established it, but they did establish a little bit
of a run game yesterday.

Speaker 1 (09:31):
Kalen Warren had a good game, Like they finally ran
the ball.

Speaker 2 (09:34):
I mean he got up the one hundred and twenty
seven yards. So, but both teams were effective, right, both
teams were effective because the obviously Chase Brown had like
who's Chase Brown. We didn't even know who Chase Brown was.
He gave he gave one one oh eight yesterday. So
they were both able to establish the run and they

(09:56):
were both able to establish balance and distribut you should
in terms of what they were doing offensively, it just
turned I would I would have to say it was
probably the two turnovers that made it made it maybe
more of a game Jonas than maybe what it was

(10:17):
supposed to be. They were equal on third down efficiency,
you know, first downs. Now, I will say this, the
Bengals stayed ahead of schedule and they stayed ahead of
the change way way better in my estimation than the
Pittsburgh Steelers did. I mean, obviously, they pulled in twenty
seven first downs versus nineteen to the Pittsburgh Steelers, but

(10:41):
they stayed ahead of the chains, they stayed on time,
they had successful first downs.

Speaker 1 (10:45):
As you mentioned.

Speaker 2 (10:46):
A lot of that was Jamar Chase short game plays,
Joe Flacco realizing that there was going to be heavy
pressure on him, so getting the ball out quickly was
going to be important. I just thought that the game
plan went really well. And how you know, when people
talk about how complicated things are and listen, I know

(11:07):
if Q was harri Q would say, listen, he's a
Flacco is a traveling, well seasoned vet, so he understands
the offenses. He understands what their their play calling is,
even if it's different terminology, he understands it. But I'll
still come back to this, if you just simplify game

(11:28):
plans where guys can just re react and do what
they need to do and let them do what they
need to do and you not be a hindrance as
a coach. You can get things accomplished. You can get
things accomplished. I mean that dude had what two days?
Two days?

Speaker 1 (11:47):
Was it?

Speaker 3 (11:47):
What?

Speaker 1 (11:47):
How many? A week? How much? I mean, he's been
there a week and a half, like the and a
half first week it was on the road. The next
game was a short week against Pittsburgh. Like he's just
and and if you listen to Joe Flacco at towards,
he was out there having a good old time. It
was a lot of fun.

Speaker 4 (12:04):
But there's like, you know, your mind's not necessarily thinking
that way for the full sixty minutes. Obviously the last
seven seconds, you know, or but even that there's three seconds,
think of the hell mary off, you're still you know,
you've been through I've been through enough of these to
wait until that clockhead zero to be excited.

Speaker 1 (12:20):
So I love doing this.

Speaker 4 (12:22):
I've been doing it such for such a long time.
When you're out there with the guys and you're and
you're doing what you want to do, and you're having success,
and you can look at each other's eyes and just
like you get that feeling, uh you know, of you know,
bonding with somebody else and just it's a lot of fun.
And it's a lot more fun when that clock heit
zero and you've gotten the job done.

Speaker 1 (12:41):
So Joe Flacco out there having a blast with with
two demons on the outside and t Higgins, by the way,
not for nothing, Jamar Chase had the numbers. T Higgins
maybe the play of the night in sliding down when
he caught the ball could have scored a touchdown. It
would have given Pittsburgh an opportunity with the ball and
more time, and instead he slid down. They were able

(13:03):
to ice the clock a little bit, or able to
to drain the clock a little bit, and then they
got that field goal with seven seconds left. Rogers still
got that ball close. Like that ball that ball DK
metcalf if he times to jump right, you know, maybe
we're talking about a name of hail Mary. But yeah,
really impressive win for Cincinnati and at least it makes
that division interesting a little more interesting than what it

(13:27):
looked like had Pittsburgh come in there and done what
the oddsmakers had said they should. Well, it was.

Speaker 2 (13:32):
I mean it was not. Again, it was not a
bad game by Pittsburgh. It was a positive. If you're
going to fall on the right side of a loss,
I mean I would say Pittsburgh fell on the right
side of a lot.

Speaker 1 (13:44):
But would you say this though, that this is more
damning of Pittsburgh's defense, because yeah, Rogers, you know, had
the turnovers. Those aren't great, But Rogers played well enough
for them to win that game. Jalen and Warren ran
the ball well enough for them to win that game.
Pat Fryarmouth was out there making plays like offensively, wasn't
the issue. Defensively, man, like they got showed up like

(14:06):
Jalen Ramsey got chewed up last night by Joe Flacco.
And I just wonder, are you looking at the Steeler
defense going man, the Bengals. You know, they've been getting pressure,
the Bengals have been giving up sacks, and they.

Speaker 2 (14:21):
Didn't have Hendrickson, they were not at full strength, and
yet they were evenly matched with the Steelers. I mean,
that's just that's the reality of it. Maybe it was
that night, but again, I thought they had a good night.
I thought the Steelers played good football. A couple of
things that maybe could have played a difference played out

(14:43):
Maye and maybe a little differently for them.

Speaker 1 (14:47):
It was a well played game.

Speaker 2 (14:48):
If you were to say this is a great matchup
for Thursday night, I would have said, coming into it,
you know, it has the potential because of what Joe
Flacco can to the table in terms of understanding what
he needs to do and his ability to be able
to actually execute doing it. But I wouldn't have thought

(15:10):
they would have delivered a game that you would have
watched all the way to the final play. In fact,
there hasn't been that quite often this season, you know,
and so seeing seeing the parody there, but knowing that
the two best players on the team weren't you know,

(15:30):
even suited up for the Cincinnati Bengals, that's got to
be you know, that's for Mike Tomlin. I know he's
sitting there like looking at that Cleveland Browns coach or
GM like you mother effort. Like we could have created
some distance, you know, we could have got got way

(15:50):
out there and maintained this this lead hitting into the postseason.
But I will say this, you guys asked the question yesterday,
does this creep like is this a Pittsburgh Steelers team
that's made for the playoffs. I mean, I'm not going
to say that yesterday's game would leave you saying no,

(16:12):
but it certainly doesn't leave you coming away from the
game yesterday saying yes, this is a team that could
probably make a deep run into the playoffs.

Speaker 1 (16:21):
I also saw this, well, I don't know if you'd
seen the clip of Roderick Jones the tackle for this
team when he took he took a Rogers to the ground.
So Rogers, Rogers throws the pick, Rogers throws the touchdown
to Friarmouth, and Roderick Jones goes to jump on him
and Rogers falls down just like a sack of thetatoes. Yeah,
he hurt, he was pissed, hurt.

Speaker 2 (16:44):
He's old, bruh, he's old.

Speaker 1 (16:51):
He was not happy. But I said this, so this
was a stat that you looked at before the game
and going, oh, this is this streak's going to be snapped.
So I saw this on c The Steelers have played
a total of eight Divisional Thursday night games on the
road in franchise history. They've gone oh eight in those games. Yeah, yeah,
make that to nine, make that oh and seven. Under

(17:12):
Mike Tomlin. I don't know what it is. I mean,
it could be just, you know, just just randomness. But defensively,
they got chewed up last night. It's not not a
great look and not a great look, but not a whrror.

Speaker 2 (17:25):
It's you would assume, for one, there's only maybe a
handful of teams that would be able to have players
do what Cincinnati did last night if we were if
we're being honest, the whole idea of what we saw
last night, we one hundred percent felt as though that

(17:48):
was what we were going to see all season with
Joe Burrow.

Speaker 1 (17:54):
On the field.

Speaker 2 (17:56):
I don't think it comes as a surprise that you're
going to have your hands full playing against this Cincinnati
team if they have the right person at the will
and Browning was not the guy, and they gave some
gimmes away, but to have Flaco and if he can

(18:18):
stay healthy, they're going to be a dangerous team.

Speaker 1 (18:21):
Bro and Listen, I would not dare.

Speaker 2 (18:24):
Say that that Flaco would maybe be the better option
moving forward if Burrow were able to come back, but
I will say he is a tremendous investment and if
I can give him as much time as I need
even maybe shut him down for the season. If Joe
Flacco is playing football where he can win games like

(18:47):
he won last night, playing the way that he's played,
I'm gonna make sure that my tremendous investment in Joe
Burrow doesn't fall by the wayside and we rush them
back too early. You could probably make a Super Bowl
run with this talent on offense, with Joe Flacco at
the helm.

Speaker 1 (19:07):
Yeah, you probably could. And I think a lot of
it is gonna depend on, you know, Trey Hendrickson's health
moving forward, and speaking of which depend on. The Prostay

By the way, I forgot to mention this earlier, but

(19:31):
it is a football Friday, you know, Friday here at
the show. It's a damn football Friday.

Speaker 5 (19:37):
It's Friday, Saturday, Sunday.

Speaker 1 (19:55):
What you ain't got, come up? Come up? What you
ain't got?

Speaker 6 (19:58):
Mark?

Speaker 1 (19:59):
Hi gotta read, I ain't gotta read. Come on, come on,
come on, let's do it. Let's do it all right, man,
Let's do this one for Eddie. Let's do it for Eddie.
Let's do it for man. Friday Night, A football Friday,
mov football Friday. It you can feel it. It is

(20:26):
a football Friday. Here on, two pros and a cup
of Joe LaVar, Arrington, Jonas and Ox with you here.
So we are going to have the usuals coming up
later on. We have another edition of incase you missed
it later on this hour. We're also going to have
our picks against the spread for Week seven in the
NFL coming up this weekend. Somebody is scorching hot, and
that's somebody is me. That'll continue spoiler alert. We're also

(20:47):
going to have the leftovers to close up shop. Albert
Breer is gonna stop by. All of it is yours here,
yes on this three hour extravaganza. Up next, though, somebody decided,
you know what, I got a red ass about something
I'm ana vent even though it might get me fined
in the NFL. You'll hear it right here on Fox
Sport Radio.

Speaker 2 (21:07):
Hey, listen up, everybody. Everything just hits different after a
football win, and the food tastes better, the drinks they're
colder and the hot sauce, Oh yeah, that better be
the original Louisiana hot sauce, because nothing brings the heat
like your team getting that dub, and nothing brings the

(21:28):
flavor like that bold, handcrafted kick straight out of Louisiana.
That's right, it's a peppery's pepper kick. It's a vinegar
and salt kick that our Louisiana flavor masters have been
blending perfectly for over one hundred, well almost one hundred years,
and it'll turn every good meal into a great meal,

(21:50):
and every great meal into a party on your plate, wings, nachos, burgers,
doesn't matter. Hit it with that original Louisiana Hot sauce
after a Sunday win.

Speaker 1 (22:00):
And suddenly it's an unbeatable deal, like a touchdown dance
on your tongue, and hey, if your team didn't pull
it off, it's okay, pour some one anyway, it'll help
ease the pain. That's what we call a victory formation
for your taste buds, the original Louisiana Hot Sauce. That's
Louisiana Hot. Bye. You soon.

Speaker 3 (22:23):

the National Football League. That'll be yours here on FSR.

(23:28):
But right now it is time for the tire rack.
Play of the day.

Speaker 7 (23:32):
Flacco drops backfires over the moon, caught by Higgins.

Speaker 8 (23:35):
He's at the fifth foot ten five touchdown Bengals t
Higgins sprinting up the middle of the field between the.

Speaker 1 (23:45):

case you mistic. Come it up here in a little
over fifteen minutes from now. Your guy Micah Parsons, he
had some thoughts yesterday, decided, you know what, I'm gonna
go ahead and let it fly a little bit here.
I'm gonna go ahead and just just let it fly,

(24:29):
just air out some a grievances, some issues I have
with not only the tush push, but the offense slash
defense officiating in the National Football League, the safety if
you will, so let's listen to number now, Number one
if you actually he's offensive.

Speaker 9 (24:47):
Players probably say that's the best thing to do office
right now, it's the most consistent thing they got. But
you know that might come and bite me one day.
It is what it is, like, like I hate that play.
The whole league's heat set play, Like I don't think
you'll find one defensive player in the league that's like,
oh yeah, go Tisch push, Like we got to learn
how to stop it. Can't stop it if they're leaving early,

(25:08):
like it's impossible, Like it's an unfair advantage, Like you
got three hundred and twenty pound momentum coming early on
the play, like whatever, but you gotta find a way.
We put so much emphasis on protecting the offense, like
protect the defense, Like a guy could be trying to
catch the ball and you make a defensive play so
he doesn't catch it, and it's targeting it's.

Speaker 1 (25:29):
A flag now.

Speaker 9 (25:30):
But a defensive end could be rushing and engaged with
another player and a guy could come blow his ribs
out and we're not considered defenseless. But like we said,
it's offensive league, Like I think a lot of the
rules are If you're gonna say it's about protecting the
players and protect all players, don't just protect one side
of the ball. And like people want to encourage like
that's not good football, Like that's not safe football. If

(25:52):
that's what they want to preach, Like what are we
talking about here, Like and look how many times that's
on film, guys putting their head down and trying to
come clean your clock. But you can't do that to
offensive players. Get a city thousand dollars fine. I might
get a fine for this contract.

Speaker 2 (26:06):
So like he's talking about racial relations, what it is.
I mean, I mean, don't put hand that might have
went over your head if you put home. I mean,
I mean, that is just very That was a very
easy one.

Speaker 1 (26:24):
But but I will say he's right, Yeah, he's not.
He's not wrong. He's not wrong. He is not wrong
with what he's saying.

Speaker 2 (26:31):
So uh, And that's it's a conversation that I know
I broach often on this show about you know, stiff
arms and obviously running with your head down is ridiculous.
What these offensive linemen are doing at the end of
plays is ridiculous. It's just the amount of holds and

(26:52):
and and ways that these defenders are being grabbed up
by linemen it's ridiculous. It's ridiculous, and it's out of control,
and it's running rampant and and there's there's not going
to be anything done about it. Now, while you say
figure it out, you know there's an ignorant ignoramis as

(27:14):
my mom would say, an ignoramus city. I don't know,
but you know they're saying, ah, you just got to
figure it out. That's just part of the game. Well, yeah,
it is part of the game. But like Mike Mike
ha said, don't make it out to be about player safety.
It's about quarterback safety. It's about offensive production. That's what

(27:38):
it's about. That's what it That's what it's totally about.
And just act as though act.

Speaker 1 (27:43):
Accordingly and don't act as though it's something that it's not.
You're not. It's not about.

Speaker 2 (27:49):
Concussions and bringing down the number of concussions. No, it's
about keeping the guys that packed the seats and by
the jerseys upright and playing in the games. It's bad
for business for Joe Burrow to be out. Now, this
wasn't an injury where he got hit in the head
or anything like that. He got a situation where it

(28:13):
played out his toe is hurt, Like, Okay, your toe's hurt,
But maybe that toe got hurt because somebody.

Speaker 1 (28:20):
Landed on him the way they landed on him. When
something happened during the course of the play. We're going
to try to find a way to legislate it out
of the game. You know what's funny. If the tush push.

Speaker 2 (28:33):
Existed on the defensive side of the ball, you know
what they would do. You know they have been done Jonas.
If there was a way where you were able to
tush push into the backfield and ruin what the offense
is doing immediately upon the play being ran, you know
what the NFL would do. They would legislate that play formation,

(28:55):
whatever it is. They would legislate it right on out
of the game, no questions asked, no debates, none of
that outed here. But but they don't do that for
the offensive side of the ball. And and so what
Micah had to say, he isn't wrong, But I ultimately say,
for the touch push, you just can't let him.

Speaker 1 (29:13):
Get in the short yardage.

Speaker 2 (29:15):
I mean, you got to stay ahead of the stay
ahead of the downs.

Speaker 1 (29:18):
Who was the guy, because I think it happened to
Carson Palmer. It also happened to Tom Brady. Peco was
the guy I think on Carson Palmer. I forget who
the guy was that landed into Tom Brady's knee, you know,
but you remember Carson Palmer in the playoff game against
the Steelers. It was like Van Hoffen or something well like,
but I thought it was I thought it was Pecko

(29:40):
from the Bengals. But the point is, like, you watched
that landed on who's well like Carson Palmer. Remember in
the playoff? How could he land on Carson Palmer's leg? Well,
he fell into Carson Palmer. That's like, That's what I'm
getting at, is that he was with the Bengals. Now,
who is the guy who landed on cars is like
Olin Van Well? Okay, So if you look at that

(30:02):
play and you've got Carson Palmer in the pocket throwing
the football and a guy unintentionally lands on Carson Palmer's knee,
You've got Tom Brady trying to throw the football, a
guy unintentionally lands on his knee. There was no intent involved,
and the NFL did away with that to where now

(30:23):
same thing, no intent, total accidental. You can try and
stop yourself, but an no alignment pushes you into the
quarterback and you're the one that gets popped fifteen yards
because it's a roughing the passer and you could get
pushed into the quarterback. And we see it all the time,
Like I saw one against Dak Prescott earlier this year
where it's like, what what is the defender supposed to

(30:44):
do at that point? What are you supposed to do?

Speaker 2 (30:46):
Van o Hoffen, Yeah, two thousand and six Cincinnati Bengals
quarterback Carson Palmer, like obliterate it.

Speaker 1 (30:55):
But none of the knee But none of those were intentional,
Like those aren't You're not in like I could understand,
Like there's been some time where look, people like to
claim Rodney Harrison the Trent Green one. They go, wow,
he could have stopped himself, Like he pushes back on that.
I got to understand some of these. But if you
look at it case by case as they should, then

(31:16):
you could say, all right, well this one's different. He
was pushed into him. There was no intent there that
it's But instead they're just like, no, everybody gets a flag.

Speaker 2 (31:26):
I wouldn't try to defend me knocking a sucker out
at all.

Speaker 1 (31:32):
If I knocked him out I knocked him out. So
what should he dies? He dies, should you get it?
Should you get a fifteen yard personal foul and potentially
a fine for that? I could see like to me,
a tackle is a tackle. A tackle is a tackle.

Speaker 2 (31:50):
And again, let me let me remind some of you
out there, some of you soft asses. Let me remind you,
more often than than not, the quarterbacks are bigger than
the dudes that are hitting them. They're generally bigger than
the guys that are hitting them. So when you create

(32:11):
all of these new rules, you start to see guys
like Patrick Mahomes able to run through tackles and breaking
arm tackles.

Speaker 1 (32:20):
Oh my gosh, look at his strength. Oh look at
Josh Allen. He's just amazing. He's Oh he's rumbling and
he's stumbling. Well, put him out there in the serengetti.
Don't put him into zoo. Put him into serengetti. See
what they've done is they created a zoo environment, a
protected area. You're not getting real predators. You're not dealing

(32:44):
with the lions being real lions. You're not dealing with
tigers being real tigers. You're not dealing with that. You
ain't got to worry about hyenas. No, you're worrying about
like you know, they got it set so you you
it's petting. It's a petting zoo, Like go pet them.
You can even feed them, like it's not wild. What

(33:07):
they it's not?

Speaker 2 (33:09):
I don't know who knows. It's probably vegetarian did vegetarian meals.
I'm just saying.

Speaker 1 (33:15):
These dudes be like six', four six' five, and above
be weighing two hundred and fifteen twenty. Thirty pounds some
of them can run like.

Speaker 2 (33:25):
The WIND so i gotta stop and think About how
i'm going to catch Up with lamar to.

Speaker 1 (33:31):
Begin with and then his slippery, WIGGILY asked i gotta
figure Out how i'm going to hit him without. Hurting
him it's like it's so freaking upsetting when you're a
defender that you're not really able to do, your job
but yet you'll be judged by. Your coach in the

(33:53):
film Study, with ooho look at what he did. To
you oh he ran right, through, you this that and. The, other,
like man, come, on bro there was a time where
you could actually hit. A quarterback it just. Ain't, now
yeah and it's impacted. The game It Was bernard pollard

(34:13):
WHO had i don't KNOW what i, was Saying. Thinking
peco why was that name popping into?

Speaker 2 (34:17):
My head that was a different, guy though. Wasn't it
It wasn't palmer?

Speaker 1 (34:21):
That was who? Was that? He Said So bernard Pollard
Hit tom brady in. The knee that was? That was
it was week one of the twenty eight two thousand and,
eight season after they went To The. Super bowl was
there the safety from the bank From. THE ravens i
think he was On the chiefs at. THE time, i,
THINK yeah i think it was On. The chiefs but,
you know the other, thing too is that not everybody

(34:45):
and this is, you know like not everybody's got a
cannon for an arm and can. Play quarterback but it
doesn't mean you can't be a great. Player elsewhere and
so how many players were great players on defense, like
yourself who were at one point you were running back
and then at some point you got to the league
or you got to college and it, was, like no

(35:05):
we're just going to make you. A linebacker you're going
to play on that side of. The ball well THAT'S
what i wanted. To, DO well i chose to play on.
That Side but it's like what they're telling you in
finding and putting the rules and regulations IN the nfl
nowadays is that one side of the ball is, more important, which,
means well only one side of the ball is the
one with all, The stars like that's the only.

Speaker 2 (35:28):
That's not, necessarily true then why is it? Judged dippery
it is geared towards the offense having the. Upper hand it's.
NOT that, i mean some of your biggest stars of
all time are from the defense side of. THE ball i,
WOULD say i would venture to say the biggest personalities
that you've ever dealt with IN the nfl are from the,

(35:49):
defensive side.

Speaker 1 (35:50):
And Start With deon and part of what made them
stars is their ability to play defense at a high
level without all the restrictions and regulations attached. To, it
like there are less stars on The Defensive and i'm
not saying they're not, great players but there are less
quote unquote stars on the defensive side of the ball

(36:11):
because they have made it to where you can't play
the way you should play otherwise you're gonna, get Popped
Like michael, parson says fifteen yards and you're gonna get
a big. Fine afterwards.

Speaker 2 (36:21):
It's crazy who are of the biggest superstars in football?
RIGHT now i mean you start With What, Patrick Mahomes,
Jason Kelcey jason kelsey Is Probably Travis. Travis, kelsey see
he's not that big of a start and it's soon to.
Be wife that's probably a good, point anyway that makes.
Him famous but, you know my whole thing is, is

(36:44):
like like who on the offensive side are really carrying being?

Speaker 1 (36:50):
A Superstar, Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, Joe. BURROW mahomes I Think,
Joe burrow mahomes Like, SUPERSTARS like i know. They're good
you're naming, Good players you're naming players that WIN The

(37:10):
mvp award and stuff, Like that but, are like what
are we how are we? Defining superstars because maybe that
would be what is the determining factor because some of
those names are not they're. Not superstars if we're talking,
crossover appeal like you see him, in commercials you, see
them Then, there's Mahomes There's, josh allen you see. In Commercials,

(37:31):
there's yeah like you Don't see lamar do a lot of.
That stuff There's not there's, not, Many, bro yeah there's.
Not Many miles garrett jump comes. To mind for the
defense side of. The ball what commercials is he in
other than don't drive? FAST anymore i, don't know like
like that's but back In j Watt. TJ watt i

(37:54):
mean some of these guys. DO commercials I just i
don't know that the people arealking around. GOING on i
don't know the people are walking around, going Oh That's.
Michael PARSONS and i think part of that is THE
way i think you're. Exercising, BIAS no I think i'm
trying to defend defenders because they're they're not allowed to

(38:16):
play the way they should be allowed. TO play i
agree with what, you're SAYING but i do think that
there's just as many superstars on the defensive side of
the ball as there is on the offensive side of.
THE ball i, DO well i know this that it

what he wants in. Another partner so with that said on, The,

went on, to, say like, YOU know i want some,
of that, you know nose up, and, down, offense, defense.
YadA YadA really what it came, down to he wants
an experienced and leading man as a head coach that's been,
there before or.

Speaker 1 (41:57):
Coach dating life, or, Hey coach but what did?

Speaker 7 (42:00):
You say he's head coaching like he's, courting coach the,
head coach. Not dating but it's like he's like courting something.
To DATE but i know he's looking for an experienced
leading man to be his head coach for.

Speaker 1 (42:14):
The, FUTURE wow i know HOW about, i mean, you
know maybe just INSTEAD of i, NEED this i need,
EXPERIENCE here i, want this how about just, you, KNOW
yeah i gotta play better, and uh, you know the
rest will take care. Of itself, MAYBE that, I mean i,
don't know like that might be. Something, there also it's

(42:36):
not like the coach he had was put in the greatest.
Spot anyways like the organization, was basically without, saying it
trying to push him out. The door and, they decided,
you Know With mike rabel coming, to town let's make the.
Move now. We don't we don't. Want to we don't
