Speaker 1 (00:00):
You are listening to the Dan Patrick Show on Fox
Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
It is the Dan Patrick Show here on Fox Sports Radio.
No Brady Quinn, but it is LeVar Arrington and Jonas
Knox with you here. You can normally hear us before
the Dan Patrick Show from three to six am Pacific
time six to nine Eastern time.

Speaker 1 (00:19):
On two Pros and a Cup of Joe, but.

Speaker 2 (00:21):
It'll be Stix and I taking you all the way
up until noon Eastern time, nine o'clock Pacific Here and
we are brought to you by tire rack dot Com.

(00:42):
rack dot Com the way tire buying should be. It's
immemorial day out there. I hope people acknowledge what it's
actually about. The barbecues, all that stuff is fun, but
what it's actually about and what those lost souls meant
to our country and all that. Hope we take time
to appreciate that. We are going to take time to

(01:03):
first acknowledge that Apparently the New York Knicks are not
ready to just lay down and give up here, LeVar Arrington.

Speaker 1 (01:11):
They're not ready.

Speaker 2 (01:12):
They have now made this a series for now, and
they come back pull off a comeback win of their own.
Allah what the Indian Indiana Pacers did to them in
Game one in Game two, and the Knicks get it
done on the road in Indiana somehow, some way and
bring this series.

Speaker 1 (01:31):
To two to one in the Eastern Conference Finals.

Speaker 3 (01:34):
Being the son of a VET that almost lost his
life in Vietnam, always want to make sure I take
my time, especially being on air on Memorial Day, to
make sure I do honor and remember our brave men
and women who paid the ultimate price and made the

(01:57):
ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. So I just want to say,
I'm so appreciative, and I'm so happy and proud to
be the son of a military VET, proud to be
a part of generations of military service members who have
taken pride and representing our country and fighting for our freedom.

(02:20):
So I would be remiss if I didn't say that quickly.
Thank you to all the memories of those who live
in our hearts, in our minds that gave us the
right and the opportunity to have these freedoms just to
talk on the radio and to talk sports. So thank

(02:41):
you to all of you. Enjoy your day, but just
remember to remember those that not only are are gone
and have given their lives for our country, but those
who are still here because they well, they need our
attention and they need our love more than anyone. So
make sure you hug a vet today, make sure you
show them some love, and uh, enjoy your Memorial Day. Uh.

(03:04):
And it was not a Memorial Day for the New
York Knicks. So so to get to your point, UH,
you finally saw a team that had to to I
guess feel the pressure of the series coming to a unceremonial,
unceremonious end. It did not look like it was going

(03:27):
to be a good series. It looked to be the
same yesterday's game as the Indiana Indiana Pacers. Uh took
took the lead and was up quite a few. I
believe it was a twenty point deficit that the New
York Knicks erased. Uh. I'll say this, Indiana did it

(03:50):
to them. You know, New York was up. New York
had the opportunity to win the game and they choked
on it. And and now you saw the Indiana Pacers
proverbial choking take place. And yesterday's game, they had a game.
This was an opportunity, being up by the amount they
were in by to basically put maybe put the stamp

(04:15):
on it, you know, put put the toe toe tag
on the next the Knicks fought back. Carl Anthony Towns
looked like two different people in the game, Jonas. First half,
it was like, come on, what are you doing. Probably
need to bench him, Probably need to just leave him
there and just see what's going to happen. And then
in the second half Cat fueled them. And it only

(04:38):
goes to serve the purpose of what the conversations have
been since they made the trades of you know what
Randall going to Minnesota and Towns coming to the Knicks,
is that Carl Anthony Towns has to play like an
all star if this team is to have a chance

(05:00):
to win this series and to have it remotely any
chance of not being a sacrificial lamb in the next
in the next series.

Speaker 2 (05:10):
Uh So, Karl Anthony Towns, as you mentioned, he had
the monster fourth quarter which fueled to comeback for the Knicks.
And he spoke afterwards about what went end his performance.

Speaker 4 (05:19):
That's opportunity to utilize all those hours I'll put into
the gym. And the game wasn't looking great for me
as well, but for all of us, and I just
wanted to do whatever it takes to help put us
in a position to win. And uh, like I said,
it's just it's a testament to my teammates, you know,
having trusted me and giving me, you know, putting me

(05:40):
in spots where I could succeed and and and utilize
my talent. So that's just testing, you know, shout out
to the guys in the locker room. You know, it's
just a great team win. But we got we know,
we gotta be better than we were tonight if we
expect to find a way to get another win.

Speaker 1 (05:54):
Yeah, I mean, so.

Speaker 3 (05:56):
He has to put himself in better situations to have
better games earlier. Yeah, how you feel about it is
that he has to do that.

Speaker 2 (06:05):
It's I mean, this is a wonderful moment for for
the Nicks and for that fan base. This is great
and and you know, now it makes sense why they
celebrated the.

Speaker 1 (06:15):
Way that they did after they beat Boston.

Speaker 2 (06:19):
Because because they knew that it was over. And this
is a fun story, and it's great that we're going
to get TNT with another game. We're going to get
another opportunity to see the NBA on tn T again,
which we've grown with over the past couple of decades.
But you watched the game last night, and I don't

(06:40):
know if anybody else sees this the way I see it.
But I look at the game and I go Indiana
is by far and away the better team. They're deeper.
Even though Tibbs, you know, adjusted his lineup, adjusted his rotation.
He put in uh Mitchell Robinson, he took out Josh Hart.
All of that being said, I find it hard to

(07:01):
believe that Indiana comes out and goes cold in the
second half like they did last night at home. I
just don't see it happening. This is gonna play out
the way it played out against Cleveland for Indiana. They
lost game three at home, they came back in game four,
they annihilated the Calves and it was over.

Speaker 1 (07:18):
So this is a fun story.

Speaker 2 (07:19):
It's fun the Knicks fans finally got to see their
team win an Eastern Conference championship game.

Speaker 1 (07:24):
But that's a wrap folks, this is done. It's over.
And I just you just.

Speaker 2 (07:31):
Watch the game and not the you know, the parts
where Indiana is struggling to find a shot, like even
their like shot selection. Offensively, it just looked weird. It
didn't look like what they were normally doing. And I
don't know if it's because they got comfortable, I don't
know what it was.

Speaker 3 (07:47):
They still went up twenty.

Speaker 1 (07:49):
Yeah, I just.

Speaker 3 (07:52):
So what you're saying is true. That's so damning because
they still in the game where you felt like they
didn't do as well as they should have done, they
still went up by twenty.

Speaker 1 (08:02):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (08:02):
It's the fact that they gave twenty I guess to
your point, it's the fact that they gave a twenty
point lead away.

Speaker 2 (08:08):
They just kind of didn't it look like the in
the second half. They were just kind of lacks of
days ago possessions. They were just whatever, but just almost
like playing with their food, like well, yeah, no, what
And then all of a sudden they're down two and
it's late and it's like, no, now you need a
shot from Siakam to try and tie the game, and
now they're in a battle. I just I think they

(08:28):
respond and I think they hammer the Knicks in game four.

Speaker 3 (08:31):
It's possible it could play out that way, but it
is also the idea of that's exactly how the Knicks.
You could probably say the Knicks lost their first game.
I would say the second game was the one game
where I'd say Indiana won that game, but the first
game that was the next game. They let that thing
get away, and it is what it is. It happened

(08:55):
the way that it happened, and they have to live
with it the same way Indiana Pacers have to live
with the way they let yesterday's game get away too
close to being an up three to zero, and we
all know being up three to zero in the series
is almost like a death sentence to the series. Now
you get that one victory and you overcome crazy circumstances,

(09:19):
crazy odds to get to that victory. This is now
a gut check for both teams, because the New York
Knicks they got to do it one more time in Indiana,
just like Indiana had to do it in New York.
If they're able to pull this series even then in
the next game, if they're able to pull this game

(09:40):
even in Indy, this is a series and I don't
know it's and I don't know that it's a series
that Indiana can pull out if they hit a tail
spin where the Knicks get to take it back home
with a two to two tie. Now I do believe
it'll go to seven games. But with that being said,

(10:01):
it now turns into not a cruise control series for
the Indiana Pacers with everybody talking about how good this
roster is and they're the Eastern version of the OKC Thunder,
and this is going to be a great matchup in
the in the NBA Finals, even though nobody's gonna watch
it because it's not great markets. I guess that want

(10:21):
to watch the game. It's not the big markets. It's
not the Boston Celtics versus the Lakers or anything like that.
But with that being said, I don't know that Indiana
can get out of this series alive if they do
not put this game, this game five away or game four.
Excuse me, I do not know that if they don't

(10:43):
win Game four that they can get out of this series.
Now ties even and it's anybody series, and I get that,
but I think the emotional mental kind of impact that
that would have on a team. They're gonna have to
find a way to suck it up and going to
have to find a way to get out of the series,
even though they are the better team on paper. Jonas.

(11:06):
But I'll say this, Carl Anthony town said his teammates
got him in position to take advantage. I'll say this,
if he decides that he wants to be the player
he's supposed to be and not chuck up all them
three pointers and stay on the outside and on the
perimeter and play that soft ass style of basketball at

(11:28):
times that he's been known to play, and he puts
his head down and he plays like a big man
that can shoot from the outside but can score on
the inside and make things uncomfortable, almost like a Jokic,
like a different version. But I'm just saying, same type
of skill set. You can shoot from anywhere on the court,
but you have the size and the ability to be

(11:49):
able to do it on the inside. If Carl Anthony
Towns takes away from that game that he can do
that in any of these games, the Pacers are in trouble,
and the team they played they face after the Pacers,
if they were to win the series, would be in
trouble too. But that has to be a big if
that comes to fruition with Carl Anthony Towns being the catalyst,

(12:13):
obviously Brunson is going to be the facilitator. And you
gotta have the different guys that you know, Bridges could
have had a better game. You know, Annonobe had a
good game. He could play better. There are guys that
could play better. Mitchell Robinson could play better. There are
guys that could have played better in yesterday's game for
the Knicks as well. So this could turn into a

(12:34):
serious matchup.

Speaker 2 (12:35):
Your point is spot on about if Carl Anthony Towns
just stays in the post or back, he can get
a basket at the rim anytime he wants. And they
were talking about a post game, and that sort of
shacks frustration with him and a lot of people's frustration
with him. That was, you know, last year, it was
Anthony Edwards frustration with him when he spoke about it
afterwards after games for the Timberwolves last year. He can

(12:58):
score in the post whenever he wants. He can get
a basket there whenever he wants. Now that being said,
in watching Karl Anthony Towns over the past couple of
years in the playoffs. What do you think is more
likely to happen this next game since he was dominant
down low against Indiana, that he does it again, or
that he starts chucking up threes again, because I'll take
the ladder. He's gonna start, That's what he does.

Speaker 3 (13:22):
But but if he sees it on film, like Carl
Anthony Towns is a very cerebral guy, right, super intelligent dude,
And you know if you you see what you're capable
of doing on on film, And I know they're going
to get the opportunity to watch this game on film
and go over it and study it, and and that
coach and and his teammates have to sit there and

(13:43):
they got to be like, Kat, we know you love
shooting that three ball, bro, we know you love that
long game pause. But you got to take it on inside,
my guy, Hammers, Willie, you gotta take it on inside,

(14:05):
my guy. Hey cat, you gotta be the big cat,
and you gotta take it on inside. And I think
I think he's going to come out, and I think
he's going to he's going to try to push that
thing inside and be a little more. He's just not
He's not a shack. I can understand Shaq's frustration because

(14:26):
you have you have more skill shooting the ball than
Shaq does. I mean, you're not as dominant and as
dog as as Shaq is in playing on the inside,
but you have the size and you have the ability
to be able to do some of the things that

(14:46):
Shaq did down low in that post, especially in an
outside game NBA where you're looking at an Indiana Pacers
team that plays very very good perimeter defense, take a
down low cat, do what you need to do, and
you might have the opportunities to shoot those threes. But

(15:07):
I think him shooting all of them threes was the
reason why they got down so bad, Like he just
chucking it up like bro. At least give us that grimy,
gritty dog type of approach to the game early on
in the game. Let's establish that we can score down
low early on in the game, because, like you said,

(15:29):
both teams didn't seem to be hitting shots. It was
poor shooting. And if you're having poor shooting, you should
be putting points on the board the old fashioned way,
which is get as close to the rim as you
possibly can. And if Karl Anthony Towns to answer your question,
if he is willing to take on that weight, which

(15:52):
why wouldn't you be Why wouldn't you be willing to
take on that weight? If he's willing to take on
that weight and really assert himself and apply himself in
a big man's type of form, not in the outside
shooting three pointers all game and never going down low
seven foot or no. If he applies himself and asserts himself,

(16:14):
this could get bad for Indiana. Will he do it?
I'm gonna say, I'm fifty to fifty on on the fins.

Speaker 1 (16:22):
No, you're not fifteen.

Speaker 3 (16:24):
He's going to try to shoot out side? He is,
He's gonna he's going he's gonna shoot outside first before
he decides. He's going to have to see if he's
missing first, before he decides he wants to smoke down.
I agree with you.

Speaker 2 (16:37):

Speaker 2 (17:48):
Dan Patrick Show here Fox Sports Radio. LeVar Arrington, Jonas
Knox in for DP and the guys coming up here
in a little over twenty minutes from now. There's a
team in the NFL who's got a plan just in case.
They got a plan, in case they won't need to
execute this plan, but they do have one. We'll get
into that for you again a little over twenty minutes
from now here on Fox Sports Radio, speaking of somebody

(18:11):
who's got a plan, the Pittsburgh Steelers their plan to
have a starting quarterback this upcoming season. Most would assume,
or at least hope that it would be Aaron Rodgers
who would be that starting quarterback. And Aaron Rodgers did
maybe give a little bit of a hint. This is
a clip that was recorded and made the rounds over

(18:35):
the weekend via social media that Aaron Rodgers while at
an event in Austin with rapper Mike Studd no relation
to Big John Studd, the former w.

Speaker 1 (18:48):
Yeah. Aaron Rodgers at an event with Mike.

Speaker 2 (18:51):
Studd was asked about would he ever consider playing quarterback
for the Bears, and he had this to say, Will.

Speaker 1 (19:01):
Eron Rogers ever go to the Bears?

Speaker 3 (19:05):
Boy security, we.

Speaker 1 (19:07):
Get her out of here, take it easy on her. No,
but I believe there's a team that might play in Chicago.

Speaker 3 (19:14):
This year, a road trip.

Speaker 1 (19:17):
I don't know, sure to check it out. Are you
speaking in code? I love Chicago though, way more than
they love me. It's been a great relationship all one way.

Speaker 3 (19:27):
So that was Aaron Rodger throw some shape yeah backand compliment.

Speaker 2 (19:33):
Now, the Steelers do play the Bears in week twelve,
and so some of us speculated, all right, so is
he talking about the Steelers? Other people also thought, you
know what he ever go to or the Saints as
well to.

Speaker 1 (19:46):
The quarterback Rogers plays in there.

Speaker 2 (19:50):
Rogers asked about about the Saints' likelihood and said, uh, well, yeah,
I don't see that ever happening because I don't you know,
I'm too old. I don't want live in Louisiana, which
means that him and Derek Carr also have something in
common because Derek car doesn't want to play for the
Saints either.

Speaker 3 (20:05):
So guy, I can get that in the you know
why not Well done, sir.

Speaker 2 (20:11):
Yeah I got him. But this is such a done deal.
I mean, and we've talked about it on like we've
talked about it on the show with Brady, and you know,
he's got sources like I know this for a fact.
Rogers is working out getting ready to return, like he's

(20:32):
working out out here in southern California for a fact.

Speaker 1 (20:34):
I know this. He's getting ready to return.

Speaker 2 (20:38):
He's not just going to be working out if he's
going to go travel to Egypt again, and you know,
dig for camel remains. Like I just this appears to
be a done deal. It's Week twelve. The Steelers are
going to be playing the Bears. I think the NFL
also knew that Rogers was going to be a member
of the Steelers. That's why they open up the season
with the Jets. They can sell us on well Justin

(20:59):
Fields revenge game. Justin Fields is a Steelers quarterback for
like five games. Like this feels like it's a foregone
conclusion and now we just to wait to see when
he makes his announcement here in the next couple of weeks.

Speaker 3 (21:10):
Most likely Again, I think looking at Aaron Rodgers, he
drives the needle on fan engagement and fan interest, and
that makes this an interesting storyline for any possible team.
Like I said, I kept joking around saying Minnesota, Minnesota,
But you just never know. You just never know if

(21:34):
Aaron Rodgers may go left when you thought he was
going to go right. You may have thought he was
going to get what's the shot we were taking when
we got COVID, Well, what was the shot? Everybody had
to take a what shot? Oh, the VAXX, the vaccination.
But he went left and got a what he got immunized?

(21:57):
He got immunized. Right. So so when you think Aaron
Rodgers is going one way, he may go somewhere else.
To me, that's the bigger story with Aaron Rodgers, the
bigger story as it applies to Aaron Rodgers and the
Steelers are the Steelers. It's the Steelers. What type of
pressure are you applying by saying you're holding out and

(22:21):
you're waiting for Aaron Rodgers to join your team? Again,
I say this, and I say this with the utmost
respect of his career. Aaron Rodgers, to me, whether you
want to look at the injury or whether you want
to look at the way that the Jets played last year.

(22:43):
Mind you, someone will debate, you might even debate me
that his stat line was solid and it was good.
So you can't blame it on Aaron Rodgers. Per se
that the New York Jets was some trash last year,
but they were. They were not good last year, and
by all, given all intentsive purposes, this is one of

(23:05):
the most talented rosters that you had in all of
the NFL, and they couldn't fight their way out of
a wet paper bag last year. So the bigger story
now becomes because we're looking at a team in the
Pittsburgh Steelers that wins. They win, they don't lose. They
haven't had a losing season since Mike Tomlin has taken
over as the head coach. But I think the just

(23:27):
winning aspect of this, as we've mentioned plenty of times
on our show, that you could check out right before
this show when we're on our regular time slide from
around three to six or six to nine. Where you're
at depends on if you're on the East Coast or
the West coast. Two pros and a cup of Joe Listen.
All I can say is is that now it seems
as though we had a winning season and not a

(23:49):
losing record of a season has run thin and that's
not at this point. Jonah's good enough for there not
to be a whispering, a talking about, a debating about
has it come to a point where Pittsburgh has to
take a very hard look at what they have going

(24:10):
on moving into the future, and that could include coaches
as well. And so if you find yourself at a
point of where this is one of those this is
a very critical season in a lot of ways. If
you ask me for the Pittsburgh Steelers and for Mike Tomlin,
it's because you're looking at a team that if you're

(24:31):
if we're being honest, they haven't had a quarterback since
Ben Roethlisberger. They tried with Kenny Pickett. They really found
themselves in a conundrum last season with with Russ and
and with uh the kid that's in in New York
now Justin Fields. They found themselves not really having a

(24:54):
quarterback for this team. And both of those those quarterbacks
are gone. Now imagine that both your starting and backup quarterback,
back up and starting quarterback at one point time on
this team last year are both gone after one season.

Speaker 2 (25:09):
And they chose, they chose a what if over Russell
Wilson and Justin Fields. That's how, that's how, that's how
they were in their returns.

Speaker 3 (25:19):
They did take Will Howard in the draft, and that's
intriguing to me because in the midst of all of
this this, these storms that seemingly are are over the
Pittsburgh Steelers, right now for now, and I do not
believe that Aaron Rodgers. This is just my opinion. I
do not believe Aaron Rodgers rights the ship in Pittsburgh.

(25:43):
I do not believe he is the determining factor in Pittsburgh. Sorry,
I just don't see him at this point in his
career being that type of guy where he integrates, implements,
and executes at such a high level that this Pittsburgh Steelers'
offense goes from being anemic to being super super fat.

(26:06):
I don't see that happening. But what could be very
interesting is you bring in in Aaron Rodgers. You have
to struggle and suffer to a winning season, but not
be a Super Bowl competing team, right, super Bowl competitive?
But Will Howard is learning. Will Howard is getting the

(26:27):
education from watching and being in the meeting room with
Aaron Rodgers. Will Howard, if you're not up on him,
is a fine quarterback that came out of Ohio State.
I had to watch him will and deal against Penn
State last year. He's a national champion. A lot of

(26:48):
people have had different opinions about him, but I'm telling
you the kid can play some ball and to sit
there in Pittsburgh style to get lost for a year
or two in the system, and then you bring them out,
You march them out, and it's like man, Will Howard,
Will Howard is balling this, that and the other. If

(27:10):
that's the plan, it'll be interesting to see if Will
Howard can actually develop and end up step. He might
end up having to step into a starting role this year.
We don't know if Aaron Rodgers is going to be
able to make it through an entire season. We don't
know if Mason Rudolph is going to be the guy
they want to go with as the backup guy. If

(27:31):
Aaron Rodgers indeed comes in, there's a lot of unknowns.
There's a lot of unknowns created with Aaron Rodgers coming in.
But I gotta say there are a lot of unknowns
at the quarterback's position even before Aaron Rodgers signs the
deal to go to Pittsburgh.

Speaker 2 (27:46):
So I was thinking about this because Albert Breer made
the point a few weeks back where Rogers' time in
New York gave him a better appreciation for what the
situation was like in Green and He I think he
realized while at the circus watching you know, Woody Johnson

(28:08):
roll around on a unicycle and you know, fire people
and blame people for stuff and then deny that his kids,
you know, used Madden Ratings to evaluate players and all
the other craft that went on there over that over
the course of that time.

Speaker 1 (28:23):
I look at it and I go, it's almost as
if the.

Speaker 2 (28:26):
Steelers are the AFC, I don't want to say equivalent,
but close to the AFC version of the Packers. And
you know this from growing up in Pittsburgh. It's it's
a family business, like it's it's a mom and pop shop.
But they hold themselves to a high level. They've had
as much success as you could possibly have in the NFL.

(28:49):
They've had three stability. It's all that stuff. And I
wonder if Rogers views this and says, because make no mistake,
even if Rogers announces in the next couple of weeks
he signs with the Steelers, they're still at best the
third best team in that division, at best, because you've
got to deal with Joe Burrow and Cincinnati, and you

(29:10):
got to deal with Lamar Jackson and Baltimore.

Speaker 3 (29:13):
Still.

Speaker 1 (29:14):
But I wonder if Rogers.

Speaker 3 (29:15):
At best they're the number two team in the division.

Speaker 1 (29:18):
I don't think they're at best. I mean they're there.

Speaker 2 (29:21):
They should be thankful that Cleveland is in the same
division because at least they can go well at least.

Speaker 3 (29:26):
For the Bengals. The Bengals can bongle things at times. Yeah,
that's the only problem. But you can't trust the Ohio
team in the pros to do what they need to
do all ways at all times. Again, if we were
if we were having the same conversation last year, which
we probably were, we would have said the same exact thing.

(29:47):
And look at what the Bengals did. They stank out
the gate.

Speaker 2 (29:51):
Yeah, they and lost some games they should have won, which.

Speaker 3 (29:55):
So they they they give you the they give you
a feeling that they should be this elite team with
elite expectations made it to the Super Bowl not too
long ago. Like they give you elite, but they haven't.
I don't think that they have yet transitioned into elite

(30:16):
to where we're comfortable saying it's just that's a foe
gone conclusion. Which is strange because while I look at
the Baltimore Ravens and I say the Ravens are always
seemingly trending up. They find a way to stockpile their team,
they continue to get better and better every year and
can't make it to the super Bowl. While I'm not
fully sold on on what the Cincinnati Bengals may represent,

(30:40):
what they may do, and they made it to the
super Bowl and they have been literally the only team
that can can stand up to the Kansas City Chiefs
and win.

Speaker 1 (30:51):
Yeah, you know, so I don't.

Speaker 3 (30:54):
It's hard to say. I don't disagree with you saying
that that Steelers are at best a third team in
the AFC North. But there's a possibility, depending on what
type of year the Bengals decide to have that at best,
the Steelers could be the number two team in the Common.

Speaker 1 (31:13):
And I just wonder.

Speaker 2 (31:14):
I wonder if Rogers looks at this whole thing and says, man,
I understand this super Bowl is probably a long shot,
but maybe he's like, I just want to play football
in a similar environment to what I did for all
those years in Green Bay. And if I'm going to
go out, I want to go out playing decent football

(31:35):
with a stable organization and just have a little bit
of fun one last time in my career. And I
honestly believe that that's where his mindset is at because
I don't think he wanted to walk away from the
NFL having the last taste in his mouth be the Jets.

Speaker 1 (31:49):
I just don't.

Speaker 2 (31:50):
I don't, and so I think it's eventually going to
get done next couple of weeks.

Speaker 1 (31:56):
That's been the speculation. He doesn't want to you know,
catch heat if he misses you.

Speaker 2 (32:00):
Know, mini campingg in or OTAs and missus any offseason stuff.
So maybe in the next couple of weeks, I'll make
the announcement. But I would expect that would I would
actually be excite.

Speaker 3 (32:10):
You what you're saying. At best with Aaron Rodgers as
their quarterback, they're the third best team. Yeah, I would
say third even with Aaron Rodgers. Yeah, oh okay, yeah.

Speaker 2 (32:21):
I just but I want to see him come back
for another year. I want to see him in a
different situation than the Jets, and it'd be kind of
fun to see Rogers, you know, playing for the Sea.
It makes them more entertaining and it makes them more
watchable for me. No offense to Will Howard or Mason Rudolph,
but if you can have one last opportunity to watch

(32:42):
a guy a future Hall of Famer go out the
way that he wants to go out in Pittsburgh.

Speaker 1 (32:47):
Why not they It'll be fun. But yeah, I don't
see them.

Speaker 3 (32:49):
When they've got a new backfield this year. They have
a new receiving corps this year. There there have been
change is made to this offense to see what they
can can do this year. I don't feel as though
they've done anything that really moves the needle for me,

(33:15):
Like bringing in DK Metcalf. Okay, I thought that made
perfectly good sense. If you're keeping uh Pickens and you
have that tandem. I know they briant and they got
Robert Woods, I get that. I love Pat fryer Mouth,
that tight end. I felt like Pickens, Metcalf, friar Mouth

(33:38):
at at out there on the field with Aaron Rodgers
makes this formidable? It does? It has the makings of that?
Does it have that with Robert Woods and DK Metcalf
and Pat fryar Mouth. Maybe Calvin Austen is a name
to look at as well. I just don't know, Jonas,

(34:03):
I don't know that it moves the needle in the
direction where you can sit there and honestly feel confident
and positive about the prognosis. Of what the Pittsburgh Steelers
season is going to be in a different in a
different division, sure, sure, in a different conference, sure, But

(34:26):
in the AFC North, that's a hard that's a that's
a hard one to justify. And it'll be interesting to
see once Aaron Rodgers decides that this is the time
and the Steelers decide this is the time now for
him to come join the team and all of the
fan fare and all of the hype that's going to

(34:46):
surround it. If you have a bus like what took
place in New York with Aaron Rodgers, how is that
going to be handled?

Speaker 1 (34:56):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (34:57):
I mean that's a ton of pressure, man.

Speaker 1 (34:58):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (34:59):
And then next week, you know, the Steelers are you know,
they could probably use a little more TLC just like most.

Speaker 3 (35:03):
Cars on the road.

Speaker 2 (35:04):
And at may Go we bring your car back to
life with the for ordable paint jobs and light collision repairs.

And for that we turn it over to our executive producer,
Lee lap.

Speaker 6 (36:42):
Good more than everybody. Good morning Jonas, Good morning LeVar.

Speaker 3 (36:46):
Guys.

Speaker 6 (36:47):
In case you missed this, Uh, we just talked about it.

Speaker 7 (36:49):
Aaron Rodgers likely going to be signing with the Steelers
any day now. Maybe have to wait, but it is
reported that the Steelers do have a backup plan and
are keeping one and only Kirk Cousins on the radar,
obviously still under contract with Atlanta, and if they were
to make a trade, Atlanta would probably have to eat
or retain a part of that thirty seven and a
half million dollar guarantee he has going on this year.

Speaker 2 (37:13):
By the way, what does this say about Russell Wilson
that this is the Steelers plan?

Speaker 1 (37:20):
It was say about the New York Giants.

Speaker 2 (37:25):
Damn yeah, it's it really is like everything sort of
connected in this weird way. Justin Bieldtz and Aaron Rodgers
are basically going to swap teams. It's just felt the
whole thing is bizarre.

Speaker 7 (37:37):
But hey, what else we got Lee, guys, In case
you missed this over the weekend, Travis Hunter in Athens, Tennessee,
married his longtime fiancee.

Speaker 3 (37:45):
Leanna Wow.

Speaker 7 (37:47):
And if you missed it, you know, very looked like
a beautiful wedding, and of course he decided to gift
her what some say is a two hundred thousand but
if you really really look into it, a six hundred
thousand dollars Mercedes Benz amg after all the bells and
whistles put into it, six hundred thousand dollars Mercedes Benz
gifted to her at the wedding.

Speaker 6 (38:06):
I don't know what that looks like to you. Gifting
somebody a car at a wedding.

Speaker 3 (38:10):
Has that go down to his wife? I always say,
I mean my thing is the car is going to
be outdated in one year.

Speaker 1 (38:20):
I got news for you. Most marriages are too, dang.

Speaker 3 (38:26):
I don't know. I don't live in that world. I
got twenty in so I don't know. What I will
say is though, in terms of cars and vehicles, man,
it's a depreciating value. Some cars don't depreciate in value.
Some of them hold it. Maybe that's one that does
seems to be a super bright kid, super smart kid.
But I always say that car is going to be outdated.

(38:48):
In the year or two. I mean, to spend that
type of money on a car if it's not a collectible.
And if it's a collectible, how often are you going
to drive it? You know?

Speaker 2 (38:59):
I mean, I'm just happy that they made it work
and persevered over all the hate and uh, just disgusting
comments that were made about their relationship. And I'm not,
you know, calling anybody out here on this show, but
I know there were certain members of our show that
were disturbed by the nature of their relationship.

Speaker 3 (39:15):
Who who is a disturber?

Speaker 1 (39:17):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (39:17):
Don't say me.

Speaker 1 (39:18):
I mean, listen, I'm not you know, I don't want to.

Speaker 3 (39:20):
Don't throw me out there as if I had a problem.
I ain't got a problem. I don't get into people's
personal business like that. Don't throw me out there, don't
don't you do that. Won't put that evil on me, Ricky, Bobby.

Speaker 1 (39:31):
Damn.

Speaker 3 (39:33):
You know.

Speaker 2 (39:33):
So, Uh, how does a car go from two hundred
to six hundred thousand, though that seems that's quite a
jump grade.

Speaker 7 (39:38):
Yeah, that is a well, it's got all you know,
it's black on black, which is the is the cool thing?

Speaker 3 (39:44):
Is the totally played a part in why it's two
hundred and six hundred grands.

Speaker 6 (39:48):
You have that Matt, It's got that Matt. Oh yeah,
that black.

Speaker 1 (39:52):
Matt White's cheaper.

Speaker 3 (39:59):
How bud is that white one? And is it available
in AMG package?

Speaker 1 (40:07):
Serious Johnson about.

Speaker 3 (40:10):
I wonder which one is faster? I know?

Speaker 1 (40:16):
Well, what else we got guys?

Speaker 3 (40:18):
In case you missed this?

Speaker 7 (40:19):
Uh Shador Sanders spent the morning at John Marshall High School,
where he gave an interview and said that you know,
most of the hate that old ninety nine percent of
the hate that comes towards him is towards his pops,
and that the younger generation is uh appeals to his
star power. So saying all the hate that he got
in the slide into the draft came down to the
hate for his pops.

Speaker 3 (40:41):
I mean, I wouldn't say that's accurate. He garnered some
of it, but you know, I will definitely say that
his dad's reputation and who he is and how he
shines has definitely played a major party.

Speaker 1 (40:56):
Who doesn't like Prime Come on, man.

Speaker 3 (40:59):
There's some people I closed doors that hate on Prime Man.
So but God bless your door
