Come on me? Just so excited from Hard Knocks man,
(01:04):
what a great show? What PM? What's your problem with
Hard Knocks? All right? Why? Why? Do you get to
bury it? All right, you're not burying it. We're leading
off with it. Listen. I happen to like Hard Knocks.
All right. That sounds weird, but because because because it
makes me think about a text chain I was involved
(01:25):
in last night. When I say that, but I just
I like it because it's the unofficial start to the
NFL season for me. That's how I feel about it,
because then it feels like, Okay, August is here. Now
it's training camp and inside, look, you guys have been
through all this stuff. Some of us had to look
vicariously through some of these plays. I'm just about the
(01:45):
two so that when when it starts, that's what it
starts for me. Like I'm not one of those drama
TV show type guys like you are, Jonas. So we've
already had the Hall of Fame game, So the seasons
already started. For minute. What about Last Chance? You? Did
you guys like Last Chance to you? The Netflix show
I actually did. I loved it. I actually loved last
I liked it better than Hard Knocks. But I'll take
(02:07):
what I can get. And so we get Dan Campbell
fired up talking about actually like Hard Knocks to be honest,
you like it more than last chance you or do
you watch it last night? No? Okay, well yeah, I
mean I did. I saw the hot lights. Yeah, I
always see the hot lights. If I know we're gonna
talk about stuff, I'll go find it. I'll say it's
(02:27):
something that the NFL does a good job of promoting it,
but they are so over the top of like building
hype around it. It's getting to the point now where
like the Aidan Hutchinson seen, you know, the Billie Jeans song. Okay, cool,
but they may they're like this maybe the greatest performance
ever in Hard Knocks history for a rookie performer. And
(02:51):
I'm like, what, like, what do you mean? I mean,
first off, making history deals, you know, it's it's it's
a it's a low bar anyway, Like that's the reality
of it too, it is. But I mean, what's what
I mean? What was your song that you performed when
you were rookie and they they brought you up there.
Didn't have to perform a song, you just had to
do something I didn't name. What you're signing bonus? Was?
(03:12):
Is that the protocol? There was some of that in there? Yeah?
I mean, did did Willie McGinnis like, make you, uh
you know, sing like uh, you know some some Cleveland,
Ohio bass band like Chimara or mushroom Head or some
hard rock metal band like that that you're into. Come on, man,
I'm dropping cle I'm dropping Cleveland heavy metal here on you.
I mean that's what I do. Yeah. No, none of that,
(03:35):
None of that. No, no, Milli Vanilli, No, no, like you.
I was I was hoping you'd point that out. Was curious,
just I was just curious. I just wanted to know what. No,
I'm just saying, good songs, man, the little black stretch tights,
the jackets, the top hat, don't f it man, nomber
(04:03):
see you? Was that another one they lip syncd on?
Or was that was that when they one of their originals?
H Look, I mean the songs they lip sank God,
I don't know who were the actual creators of it.
Those are great songs. So good song again another classically though, No,
(04:24):
I don't think so. Yeah, whatever you do, don't put
the blame on you. Look at that blame it on
the right. There was that one. There, there was, Yeah,
there's one more who knows? Uh? And and furthermore, who
cares at this point, but we do have a football
talk here. Um yeah, man, you guys, you guys ready
(04:47):
to find out what's going to happen with Deshaun Watson
because I do have a little something here for you
that that might kind of well, No, we didn't talk
about Hard Knocks at all, apparely like there wasn't You
didn't have a favorite like anything from it. Wh I
mean I love Dan Campbell, I mean I love Dan
Dan Campbell. Uh Dan Campbell knocks to a heart out. Yeah,
(05:16):
you're unbelievable. Um yeah, big fan of Dan Campbell. But
you know, I don't know. I mean, if you're not
into it, I don't want to steer us down a path.
You know. He always has some interesting quotes like talking about,
you know, drowning people or something like. The other one was,
I don't care if you have three fingers and one
ass cheek, I'm gonna beat your ass or something like that,
(05:38):
I'm gonna take you out. Like yeah, he's got he's
he's a little fired up, a little wound up there.
It's one of those things as a player, and you'll
always like hard it back to thinking, yeah, that doesn't
make sense, like if I was sitting in the locker room,
I'll be like, wait, what, Like those are the things
that where you build up the momentum. You know, you're
fired up, you're dialed in, you're listening to your coach,
(05:58):
and then he sists about one acid three figures, You're going,
wait what, like completely changes the mood of everything going on.
Like we had one coach when he would give us
a pep talk, he would try to custom You could
tell he wasn't the type of guy the cust very
often because he would use a cuss word where like
didn't make sense, or it would be like a cuss
(06:20):
word that just you're like, that doesn't really go there,
you know. It just it wasn't like a common cuss
word term, you know, and you know, whether it was
like MF you know, or something like that, it would
it would be like a different cuss word before the effort,
and you're just like, that doesn't that doesn't really sound right.
But but anyway, it was all attempt to like pump
everyone up, and in the end it just confused people
(06:41):
and people kind of came away thinking, God, that was
just weird. That was not what I was what he
intended it to be. I forgot how many ex players
he has as coaches on his staff, whether it's and
I wanted to touch on that because the toughest running
back I've ever gone against his due Staley. That was
my That was like my my opponent twice a year.
(07:04):
And it was funny seeing how animated he was about
how he coaches and what he wants to get done
and how he wants to destroy the offense or destroy
the defense and the defenders when when he gets out
there on the field, he was an animated football player
and he was tough as hell. You know. We were
(07:26):
come into the to the game and we would do
that Apollo Creed Rocky deal, like we we'd be looking
at each other and we'd be like ding ding ding,
like you know, bell is in round is in in
in session, and we had some some classic battles. So
I thought it was pretty cool seeing how he, him
and Aaron glenn Um reacted to, you know, interacted with
(07:49):
one another, and the amount of competitiveness you know, and
and practices you know, you gotta believe that makes things
a whole lot fun more fun for are the guys
because you're seeing guys who have done it that that
you can relate to that can relate to you, and
they're being just as competitive as they were when they
(08:10):
were players. I found that to be kind of you know,
I found that to be really cool. You know, just
when you see you know, old players and and of note.
You know, Aaron glenn Is is a player of note.
You know Douce Staley is a player. They're players of note.
So I think that that's pretty cool when you have
guys like that on coaching staff. Mark Brunel's the quarterbacks
(08:33):
coach as well too. Se Yeah, he's got like a
bunch of former players that could you guys handle. I
couldn't see you guys being able to hand. I think
it would be too frustrating trying to coach somebody and
them not being able to get it. I think you
guys would lose your mind and take it out on somebody.
I couldn't see you having the temperament to be a
head coach at the pro level. I think it would
be frustrating for you. I don't want to be a
head coach at the high school level. I've done it.
(08:56):
I don't want to be a head coach at the
high school level. Let alone college or pro to deal with.
There's a lot of stuff that's not football related. It's
it's way more stuff that's that's not football related that
you have to deal with, and it's it's it's garbage,
to be honest. It takes the fun out of it.
(09:18):
You know, I thought it would be fun being a
head coach, and I did it for three years. It's
it's not. It's not fun. Parents take the fun out
of coaching. So once you get to the college level
and now you gotta deal with, you know, all of
the things that the elements that go with that. A
lot of people get it wrong. They think they think
(09:39):
guys don't get head coaching jobs because, you know, of coaching,
it's it's probably more the majority of the reasons why
people don't get coaching jobs are probably more likely not
even football related. And and that's something you know, isn't
really discussed a whole lot and and a lot of
(10:02):
you know, kind of conversations when guys are passed over
for jobs. But I'll tell you what you're you're basically
the hit administrator. You're like the CEO of of the team.
And and it's it's difficult, it's a difficult deal, I think.
And Belichick talked about how one of the things that
(10:24):
Bill Parcels did for him when he was an assistant
there is that he would bring him in it wouldn't
even be football stuff. He'd be like, all right, so
this is what I'm dealing with right now. And he
said it really helped out because it's all the things
that he never expected, like never like you know, guys
unhappy about this. He's got a problem in his uh,
in his marriage and uh, and this is what I'm
having to work through right now. And he said that
helped him deal with all that stuff and be prepared
(10:46):
for some of that crap when when he when it
came time to be a head coach. So, uh, it's
a lot going on. But hey, listen, Hard Knox is here.
It's gonna be a weekly event. Who knows, maybe we'll
we'll get into it more later on. And uh, and
it is the the the start of foot off for
some people out I mean your part, like you're asking
us stuff you haven't gotten the stuff you like. I mean,
(11:06):
I like Dan Campbell. I think he's funny, I think
he's entertaining. I want to play for Dan Campbell. He
gets me fired up, he gets me excited, and I
do want to know, I want to play for Dan Campbell.
And also I love how they sell hope the way
they do because they're really good at it and you're
and I'm starting to, like, I find myself halfway through
the episode thinking, God, I really believe in this team.
(11:27):
Dan Campbell said like, I'm really starting to think this
team's got a chance. And then I look back at
the history of Hard Knocks and teams that have been
on Hard Knocks, and majority of them end up being
awful that year. So I just, you know, I do
think HBO does a really good job of selling that hope.
Think about it. I mean, this is the same you
know company that's produced a series boxing. Yeah, they were great,
(11:50):
But like, I'll never forget the Ricky Hatton Floyd Mayweather fight.
I remember watching it thinking like, oh, yeah, it's got
a shot man, he's shot. He gets in the fight,
You're going, oh god, he's awful. By the way, that
was it for Ricky Hadden, Like after that fight, you
don't you didn't really hear as much about him. He
(12:13):
fought pack yeah and pack yeah and knocked him out.
With that left hand, and and I thought he killed him.
I thought Ricky Hatton had died in the second round.
I think it was the second round knockout and then yeah,
he sort of fell apart. He's actually making a comeback,
Ricky Hadden. I think he's gonna be He's gonna try
fighting again because I think that he he got really
(12:34):
into drugs. He got really overweight, like his life when
he got so knockout. Yeah, he they would call him
Ricky Fatten because he would put on so much weight
in between fights. And there's a UFC guy called Patty
Pimblett now who's the same way as a British fighter
and he gets he gets down really lean, gets down
(12:55):
to fighting weight and then blows up afterwards, puts on
like forty pounds in between Fine Fury had that that problem.
Maybe Tyson Fury motivated and inspired Ricky Hatton to make
this comeback. I would have never thought that that Tyson
Fury would go from where he was at to where
he is now. Like it's an amazing story. So so
(13:16):
shots out to Ricky Hatton, Good luck to you, Brome.
About that started off with hard knocks, going going back
to the initial point though they do good, do good.
I was selling hope, I believe it. I actually think
they might win six games this year, six seven games
this year for the lines, I mean they're going to
six and a half. I mean, who knows. I mean,
(13:36):
I just you know, I came away from that going, man,
I'm a believer. Now I'm a believer. This is a
possible playoff team. And then the season is going to
start and I'm gonna look like a horse's s. You
know what's tough is they don't have an easy schedule.
I mean when you look at obviously you gotta play Minnesota,
agree Bachwise, But it's just it's not an easy schedule.
It's it's one where like then the Jets. There's a
(13:56):
couple others. I looked at him, like, should be this
hard for a team that so bad? You know, like
I just I thought the NFL does them no favors. Yeah,
it's it'll be rough. It is two pros and a
cup of Joe. Fox Sports Radio, LaVar Arrington, Brady Quinn,
Jonas knocks. We got the usuals coming up later. Off

Doug gottlie The podcast is called All Ball. We usually

the stories about what may these people love their sport
(15:02):
and all the interesting interactions along the way. We talked

You download it, you listen to it. I think you
like it. Listen to All Ball with Doug Gotlieb on
the I Heart Radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you

(15:22):
Fox Sports Radio, Navar Arrington, Brady Quinn, Jonas knocks would
be here on fs are you can listen to this
show is always on the I Heart Radio app. How
at it sticks? A little rage against some machine? Why
you don't say yeah to this song? Yeah? Right? What
are you trying? What are you trying to get I'm
just saying, hit the button virto. I mean, I'm saying,
(15:44):
don't say yeah to this song? What do you get
that here? I understand? What are you what are you
trying to? Uh accuse me? Why aren't you yet rage
against the machine? I mean just you know, come on,
that's uncalled for this earlier the show, right, um and
plus serious, Yeah, it's become part of the part of
(16:04):
the show, just like when Brady says rock when you
know the corn song comes on, don't deflect this over
to cue saying man, I'm just saying, oh you're yeah,
this is about playlist right now? I got some rage?
Is it? Oh? Yeah? Your favorite rage song? By the way, Um,
hard to beat bulls on parade. Yeah, but they you
(16:25):
know some of the kind of sounds similar, like it's
gotta like red hot chili peppers where you're like, I
just put on your favorite then the rest kind of
sound like, I don't know follow up to that. By
the way, I think every single Red Hot Chili Pepper
song has the word California in it. Go through their lyrics,
every single one. Yeah, there's just like everything kind of
sounds like that. Yeah. Not not a lot of variation there,
(16:48):
but hey, some people are into it. Um, it's gonna
work out. So I used to think that the Red
Hot Chili Peppers were somehow related to Chili's don't ask
me why. The restaurant chain. Yes, I don't know. There
an like rich wait wait wait, they were just a
(17:08):
bunch of rich like that came up with great chips
in Caso. Yeah, I thought that they invested their money. Yeah,
underrated chain restaurant. By the way, did you did you
did you really love? Like you really thought? Okay, I
mean that the Chili Pepper kind of looked the same.
Did you think the movie Friday was related to t
(17:30):
G I Fridays? You think? Um, can you hit the
button on that? How am I getting? Thank you? What
do you mean? So? Okay? Sorry? Friday the thirteenth? Is
that better? All right? Are we good with Friday associated
with t G I Fridays. I think that's even more
(17:51):
of that a you going down the whole Friday to thirteenth.
Now you go from a comedy with um cinema to
a serial killer. I worked at T G I Friday's,
Applebee's and Chilies. Where are our tribals? All right? So
I take this stuff very serious here, Okay. I really
(18:11):
enjoyed um Chilies and their chicken crisper. It was good. Man.
Chili's is great. Is it still around? I don't see
they are still around. They have some of the coldest
beer mugs. They're like, I go there just for the
beer that's super cold. That's not really a restaurant thing.
It's depending on who's got the freezer they're putting the
(18:33):
mugs in. It's not really a Chilies things might just
been the Chilies you went to. It's actually every It's
kind of every Chili's I've ever been to. Their beer
was really cold, So maybe they make it a point
to serve really cold beers. Jonas, Yeah, I mean, or
maybe you know, you give them a hard time enough
and say I want my beer cold. I don't. I
don't ask for it to be cold. They just know
(18:56):
that it should come out ice cold. When's the last
time you guys went to happy hour? Just sat down,
belly up at a bar and had Happy Hour after
We're happy We were at happy Hour on Sunday. I
didn't even know there was a happy hour on a Sunday,
but there was. Does that become an option again when
your kids get Sunday Sunday Funday? Yeah, but it's not
(19:16):
the same as I know about Sunday Funday, but I
don't know. I've never heard about happy hour on it.
You guys have it all wrong. Here's how works happy
hours Typically, what like you're four to five to like
seven o'clock right the most restaurants, bars, some people do too.
Happy hour. So that's that's like a Sunday Funday. So
usually happy our starts on a Sunday Funday after church.
(19:39):
So if you've got anywhere from that, like nine o'clock service,
some spirits after these are spirits when you're chasing the
Holy Spirit, Oh, the Holy Spirit spirits. When I was
when I when I lived in South Carolina, everybody would
get really done up for church and then get annihilated.
(20:01):
After church, they go downtown and get hammered just hammered,
and I thought to myself, like, you're like your Sunday best,
like you just took communion. You know, it feels like
a holy day. And then it's bottomless emotions to watch that.
I mean, Jesus said, you don't usually do this, but
he turned the water into wine. He said, let's keep
the party going. You know it's that word from word
(20:23):
what he said. Yeah, I think usually, uh, let's keep
the party going on. Yeah, oh we ran out of wine. Ya,
don't don't worry, jest this shall you know that works?
By the way, is there alcohol and the and the
wine they hand out a church? Yes, I think that
(20:43):
it depends on what church truth some some of his
grape juice, I was to say, most of them. I
feel like now we're grape juice. I feel like you
don't get the good stuff anymore. Yeah, and it's like
and it's like you gotta peel back the container and
stuff like edge off. Yeah, you don't get the good stuff.
Like kids are getting awful during mass shot and I
(21:07):
gotta I got a flask in my soup pocket just
in case they go light on the boots. I'm just
I'm just saying they are I'm just saying there are
some people that that venture down those roads from time
to time. You know they're out there, they know who
they are. I mean, I don't know many people that
carry a flask still. I feel like that's not really
a thing anymore. School. You want to know why a
flask comes in handy because it's curved so it actually
(21:29):
bends to the contour of your frame, so you got
it in your soup pocket. And we still have flask
around here because we're soccer moms and dead volleyball cheer
football replaced the flask, though, is a YETI cup because
you fill those things up? No one really knows. They
just know it's ice and it's drink inside, and that's
(21:50):
what it is. People. Yetti killed the flask business. That's
interesting because people really do not worry about roads, so
us that's that's that's what it's labeled. Cheer church labeled
on roads, Soda pops, you know, beverages pops, did did
uh la bar? What do you what do you mean?
(22:11):
Soccer moms and dads around here? What are you talking about?
What do you mean? Like, like, what are you saying?
What do you mean? You got to a you know,
a soccer game and you bring it and everybody's got
their hydro flask. Everybody. It's like a it's like a thing.
It's either coffee or it's a road soda. All right.
So if you're drinking at these at these children's sporting
(22:33):
adults laughing and Kevin a great time, and then the
game isn't even that interesting but they'd be having a
good time, then let me tell you something. I don't
want anybody breaking my balls when I start gambling on
youth soccer. I don't want anybody giving me a hard time.
If they're boozing up, I'm gonna start gambling. And I
guess there's I guess there's some type of way to
correlate that. But I think you took a fun moment
(22:57):
and parents having like a good time and turned it
into like something a little bit more, you know, darker,
you know kind the door you gambling, I mean trying
to make some Look at Maddie over there, Maddie is
going to dribble the ball, she's going to go coast
to coast and she's going to score. On Jacob Watch
here it is ten dollars. I got ten dollars. Any takers, yes,
(23:21):
and there's gonna be some juice with that. So so
you're gonna need uh ten dollars and fifty cents in
order to win back your ten And I'll just make money.
I'll be the house and I'll just make money on
on the juice, the big as they call it, you
know what I mean? What's the par lay on that one? Like?
You know it depends. Usually if you bet fifty bucks
on a parlay, you have a hundred was to sixties.
(23:41):
So it's uh like if you were to do ten bucks,
and so you'd be like, she's going to do it
this time bucks, and then she's going to come back
and she's going to do the exact same thing. And
you've picked out the best player that's on the fields.
Taller than everybody, she's bigger than everybody, she's faster than everybody,
and part laying on that. But you gotta hit both
(24:02):
in order to get paid, you know, Like listen, you
can gamble on anything. Remember a J Hawk came on
with this Brady and talked about the walk back back
at the Kentucky Derby where it isn't it? How does
it work? Again? You're betting who crosses back. Yeah, who
walks back first? After the actual race like the one
that everyone that's on, you know, it's paid out, and
(24:23):
then the race turns into a second race like which
which honestly, like it's brilliant for two reasons. One because
of the reaction of everyone else around, Like you have
this big climax where everyone's like like either one or
you lost, and then they start to calm down or
the rip it up tickets. Meanwhile, these jokers are back there.
(24:44):
They're like just getting started, like they're rooting back off
with the horses, and everyone's looking at you like what
the hell are they doing? And then someone eventually wins
and they're all excited about it. But the other thing
is like it's just something unique, like you know, it's
it's like no one else is really talking about doing that.
It's awesome, and got so much time to between races,
like you could easily have that second thing. And it's
(25:05):
a bonding thing to weren't you guys you've told stories
about in the locker room you're betting on who can
make uh you know, taken off your your tape on
the wrist to try and take that's a thing that
is a thing. How much money are we talking about?
What gets what gets gambled in a locker room on
something like that? Millions, just millions, like people's actual absolutely livelihood,
(25:26):
you know, generational wealth, all that on throwing tape into
a trash and again there he is. Now that's passive
aggressive right there. That should be ge Wagons over Miami.
Who gang was? It wasn't Miami someone it was. It
wasn't been State, it wasn't our schools. But we bet
ge wagons on it. Yeah, but no one paid up
for that. I mean I bet the pink slip and
(25:49):
I gave my pink slip to to somebody to whole
he backed out of the bet. Yeah, that's the thing
about betting. And if I would have took that car though,
some guys are really sore losers. And by the way,
that extends past that, like you know, I'll just say this,
there's some guys who've lost some best they don't pay up.
And it's like every time they asked me about I go,
(26:09):
what's the point You're not gonna pay up? Like you're
if you lose, you're not gonna pay up. It's all
downside risk for me because then you get to be like, oh,
you know, I'll pay up, because that's what I do.
I'll pay up. You're right, you're right, that's that's definitely accurate.
That's definitely accurate. But I returned to favor because I
ran up a horribly high bill in Tonk and I
(26:31):
was playing on credit. I ran out, I ran out
of cash on the on the on the airplane ride,
and it was a horribly high bill. I mean I
was losing. I was losing bad, and I never paid it,
and you're playing what tonk, you gotta look it up
tonk though it's like it's like a quicker version of
(26:53):
Rummy five hundred. They're trying to get out. The first
person that gets out wins the money, and he to
trying to get out, and so he had to turn
the credit because you lost all your cash. Yeah, I
went to credit because it was a long ride home front.
I think we played San Francisco and we had a
double decker. We had a here's what's crazy, right, we
(27:13):
had a double decker airplane. It was our last game
and of the season, I believe, or maybe last away game.
I think it was the last game. You would have
thought we were going to the playoffs, like we were
going home, like season was over and we were on
that party. It was like sold playing on that bro
(27:35):
it was. It was going down on that plane and
on the second floor everybody was gambling, like everybody. There
was all kinds of different gambling going on. It's like
pick your poison and the talk games were really really
competitive and spirited. Fight too. Oh yeah on the way back. Yeah,
(27:58):
it's no, there's no more. Boot was on the flight, ROBERTA.
You are a savage. Uh, there's no more. There's no more. Uh,
there's no more booze on teams team planes. Right, that's dead, Right,
that's over. I haven't been on a team flight in
many years, so I would not know the etiquette of
of where the rules stand at this point. Yeah, I
(28:20):
don't know. It seems like that would be uh, that
would get out and be a bad look or something,
but it's not somebody would have an issue with it
in this day and age. I don't know. It feels
like people are very sensitive to that. I mean, did
they still have alcohol containers when when you got on
the plane, Q, Because I was out of the league
by the time you came. They did not. But um,
(28:41):
I'm not gonna be I'm not gonna a lot of
people and say that there was not alcohol on the plane.
Like you got to know your flight attendants pretty well,
so there was typically a purchase order that was made
ahead of time. Something the proper hydration was was there
were you had? They had him in trades when we
(29:03):
was playing. Yeah, yeah, they couldn't give it out like that.
But I mean, here's the thing that didn't make sense
to me. So they wouldn't provide alcohol like that. Yet
there was one team I was with. You would literally
on your seat have a cocktail of painkillers uh anti inflammatory,
Russell relaxers. Like all you had to do is add
(29:25):
water and drink those pills. That you had a party.
It was. I was like, this doesn't make any sense,
that's true. Whatever you needed. Brooks, No, he told me that.
Bucky Brooks said he was with the team and you
would get on the team plane and at your seat
would be a beer and two pills every road game.
When he got back on the plane, like really, he said, yeah,
(29:47):
so that would be just sort of while there was
more of that, he goes, oh, yeah, there was more
where it came from. But that would be just the starter.
That was the appetizer as before the flight took off.
So interesting, makes us sound like neandrethals it was very
sophisticated people. Man, it's a very sophisticated culture. You know.
It's not It's not as bad as it sounds. I'll
(30:10):

LaVar A, Brady Quinn Jonah stocks with you here odd
(31:16):
fs are. By the way, if you're listening to the podcast,
I just want to be clear. It's an LLL cool
J song from back in the day. Most people know it.
They'd be able to pick it up off of my
my horrible way of delivering the lyrics. This song is
probably forty years old, so I would venture to guess
it's a little younger than that, but I was definitely
(31:37):
a kid. When what do you think the over under
on this song is, We'll send it at thirty and
a half. What's the name of this song? Thirty and
a half. I'm gonna say I'm gonna take the over
on that. It's a little older than thirty and the
song is called I'm Bad. Alright, so cool Ja I'm bad.
I'm gonna say thirty and a half. Brady going over
(31:57):
under thirty and a half years old for this song. Um,
I'm going it's definitely over a half years old, isn't it.
I would think it is. Let's see, uh, cool J,
I'm at seven, Yes, so thirty five years thirty five
(32:20):
year old song? So hey, people listening on the podcast
now they are up to speed on a thirty five
year old song. I think we've done it here all
right at top of next hour, about fifteen minutes from now. Um,
somebody had a very strong statement in the NFL yesterday.
There could be ramifications that could take place very soon.
We'll get into that for you, but right now it
(32:43):
is time for something we do every single morning, and
it's called this. Sometimes you can't get to everything in
the world of sports or entertainment. Good thing. The guys
are here to bring you. In case you missed it,
all right to lead to lap is not with us,
our executive producer. He's on a boat in Zimbabwe somewhere
and so for that he was in the Mediterranean. Whatever
(33:06):
that mean, it's right around the corner. I'm not going
to touch that. I'm not going to touch you already
did you could be in the Mediterranean and in Zimbabwe
at the same time. That is very accurate. Although I
mean low ki big brother did uh did did point
(33:29):
some stuff out? Yeah? I called him out. I pointed
him out and he uh he has vanished since not
uh So in his place is Ricky Herrera, who's going
to uh ricket with what we got this morning? Ricky,
what's happening? And my guys in case you missed it.
(33:52):
Pirates Infielder Rodolfo Castro got the call up in his
major league debut, and he slid into the base and
his phone fell out of his pocket. So he made
his Uh so, I think he's been up once or
twice before, but he came back. It was called up
(34:15):
from the miners and he's in the game. He's sliding
into third base and his cell phone flies out of
his back pocket. The umpire spots it on the ground.
And when when he goes to hand his cell phone
to the third base coach, the third base coach is
so dejected he won't even hold it. He's so disgusted
by it. And uh and after he said, oh, it
(34:36):
was just a simple mistake, my question is, what's he
doing with the phone? Is he? Uh? Is he snap
facing somebody? Let me just we'll get into that van
for me here, Please just go ahead and the fill
in here we'll get because yeah, so he's been born
basically the cell phones. Yeahah, like he was born. They
(34:59):
gave him a cell phone own, you know, then they
give you a bottle at some point. Like that's how
his life is based. That is, he's probably got separation anxiety.
From his phone. Like usually dogs get that. I feel
like people are getting that with their cell phones. So
they the pacifier is dead. It's now a cell phone.
You get an iPhone and a bottle, now, all right
pretty much? It's hey, that's how Apple wants it, all right,
(35:20):
but you don't really mean though. I don't know, Bruno
hat it on yourself because he's in the Dominican they
don't have iPhones. Yeah, okay, so it's Sam Sune. You
don't Oh my god. Stop, they're gonna Samsung and not
a bottle. And he's using if they don't grow the butt,
(35:41):
what do you? What do they get? Is like they
get a zip block bag. It's a kay. They grow
up with a boob, not a bottle. Oh okay, well
they're still a cell phone in his hands. It's gonna
be a Samsung. Yeah that's the other one. But yeah, BlackBerry.
(36:03):
It's like having a skinny didn't with a piranha? All right?
What else? Wow? Okay, guys. In case you missed it,
Clemson football is making all their defensive backs practice in
boxing gloves to prepare for the new defensive holding rule
this upcoming season. Um okay um? Is it that or
(36:29):
is it because they've got this reputation for searching downstairs
if you know what I mean on defensive Clemson. You
know some of those videos that came out where Clemson
players were, you know, reaching and grabbing for things they
shouldn't have been grabbing. Is this is this to try
and to tear them from that behavior? I look forward,
(36:49):
They've done this forever pretty pal ups. I was a
palle up. I was not the grabbing they have them,
you know when you get the pile ups on on
(37:11):
football field, depending on how nasty the game was, depending
on how nasty. Every once in a while you hear
somebody in the pallet be like get get and now
was actually me They we're hearing throne Man's stream like that,
I mean grabbing twist? Is that the kung fu grip
(37:36):
I just tried to, you know, grip squeeze turn. There's
been a lot of children lost in those parts. In
all seriousness, the reason why this has become that much
more important is this year um defensive holding. It's it's
remained at ten yard penalty. However, it will now be
an automatic first down in college phone, so it's that
(37:58):
much more punitive. You review it. Uh no, I do
not believe it's reviewable. That's that's always fair when they
make it more punitive and you don't have an opportunity
just in case the official gets it wrong. That's always
good to do, even you can't call it that is true. Yeah,
throw on some everlass and see, let's just go out
there and play this game. I just what do they
(38:22):
want to getting the conversation and reviews? It just it's
a waste of time. They're never gonna to put some
stick them on them them gloves? Yeah, no pick No,
it won't be no picks, you know, um because you
don't have fingers. What are the boxing gloves? Yeah, it's true,
they make stick um anymore? Now was a spider ta? Yeah? Yeah,
(38:47):
you should try and do a show with stick hum.
See how we operate touch the microphone? Bathroom never dropped?
Bathroom breaks will be interesting, right, you never dropped your
mic that is true. And then these mike's in here
do fall in the ground from time to time. I
wonder if they use stick them for massages these days.
You know, I think you want the opposite of that.
(39:08):
What's the opposite? Your hands can be removed, lu I
don't think. I don't think. I don't think that they
don't think that they I don't think they start with stickum.
I didn't get ends in that way though, Oh good one,
dus
