Speaker 1 (00:00):

LaVar Arrington, Brady Quinn, Jonas Knox coming up on this

big article done on the Great LaVar Arrington, the North
Hills Hammer. We're gonna break it all down. We're also
gonna get boots on the ground coverage of Big twelve
media Days, and a baseball game experience for one Brady Quinn.

(00:22):
There's the perfect July story in the NFL, and it
involves a coach who's not even coaching anymore. Albert Brier
is gonna stop by, Li've met Jesus, will make an
appearance as the Open Championship is underway. Plus another edition
of incase you missed it, and it's the b Q News.
It's all yours on a Thursday. Two Pros and a
cup of Joe. Next hear Fox Sports Radio. You're listening

(00:46):
to Fox Sports Radio. Yeah, kick ass Man Rock, Two
pros and a cup of Joe. Fox Sports Radio. It's
LaVar Arrington, Brady Quinn, Jonas Knox. Are you here on
fs Are you can hang out with? This is always
on the I Heart Radio app. You can find us
on hundreds of affiliates all across the country and wherever

(01:06):
the hell you are making us a part of your
Thursday morning. We appreciate you doing so. We're gonna take
you all the way up until nine am Eastern times,
six o'clock Pacific. How about it? We got an actual
live sporting event on the air while we are doing
this show here. How about the Open Championship favorite? Yeah,
some golf, big time. It is the best? Isn't he

(01:29):
a Tiger's playing in it? How about that? Um? So
you speaking of which I mean obviously doing the show
here with with Brady Quinn and uh, you know the
North Hills Hammer, Uh, the North Hills Hammer. Apparently they're
doing features in The Athletic about LaVar Arrington. I mean,
what was that all about? I don't know. I don't know, man.

(01:52):
Did you know that it was coming out or did
that just pop up? I didn't know it was the Athletic.
You know, I knew I was getting in. I knew
I got interviewed. Who interviewed you? I knew the lady,
I knew. I knew the person who interviewed me. I
just didn't I didn't you know? People right for so
many different outlets these days. I just yeah, I didn't

(02:13):
know that that's who who she was doing to the
piece for. And they move around, you know, one year
they'll be at the Athletic, the next year they're at
somewhere else or like another new something that started. I
get that. I get that. It was good though. It's
good to see the North Hills Hammer, the legend the hammer.
So what what was the Why did they want to

(02:34):
spark up the conversation? Why was the I don't know,
I mean, I don't know, and I kind of felt
uncomfortable reading an article why it was all complimentary, that's
good stuff's that's that's I don't I don't like that
type of stuff. But it was flattering and it was humbling,
and it was really cool to see, you know, what

(02:57):
what people thought of me and things that I was
able to do and accomplish. It. It's such a it's
so many lifetimes ago, you know, so it's kind of
kind of interesting. It did spark my thought process of
and I'm sure maybe you had these moments every so often,
q Um. Maybe not so much for you, Jonas, but maybe. Yeah,

(03:22):
It's like it made me wonder, what how it would
have been experience wise if technology was where it is
now today, you know, if there was a huddle, if
there was a YouTube, if there was social media. But
then part of me was thinking about the fact that

(03:44):
I actually appreciate the fact that we were at the
end of the dark ages in terms of how things
were being exposed and being put out there, because there
was still a level of purity of what it is
is that we did when we were doing it. You you,
in a lot of ways, you lose that purity once

(04:06):
you go to college because you start to realize very
quickly by everything that's around you that it's a business
and you had better handle your business or you know,
you don't get very very many opportunities to to not
you know, fulfill your your part of the duty of

(04:27):
being there. So when I was thinking about it, was like, man,
it was like part of me was like, you know,
kind of the article was almost like, well, what what
would it have been like if if if things were
where they are now and I was doing the things
that I was doing then. But you know, I like
the fact that I played in the era that I
played in. A lot of the guys that I played

(04:50):
against went to the pros. So that meant that it
was a golden age of of football being played where
I was from. And and I was just really really
humbled at people of the caliber that they are, that
we're speaking on me. I'm in the article. It was
just it was pretty cool. It just kind of makes
me uncomfortable though, you know, I know it seems like

(05:11):
an arrogant dude, or I'm self absorbed or this, that
and the other, which I am. I am all of
those things. Um, but but it's a confident. It's it's
it's like, I'm I'm I'm humbly confident, and I'm humbly
arrogant and I believe in me and and so that's
kind of the thing. But I just don't like compliments.
I personally don't think it's that Like, I really don't.

(05:34):
I think, you know, look, you should be appreciated for
what it was. Like we all saw the Jordan documentary,
and I think there's a generation of kids who go, oh,
that's what it was. Like, that's why people say he
was the goat, you know. And I know Lebron's coming
out with his now which yeah, for people debating, like
for people debating, which I don't think we've talked about

(05:56):
this air, but for people debated the goat conversation, there
was an argument that I sent you guys that I
think was summarized pretty quick. It kind of falls along
the lines of the homie hopper that he loves so much.
But when you bet I'll just put it this way,
when you bet a thousand, it's got a hard dispute,

(06:18):
you know, who's the goat. But I digress. I think
it's it's it's fun to like go back and look
and see that. Like I try to tell people all
the time, and LaVar, I've told you this. I'll go
back and watch the LaVar highlights because I'm like, people
don't realize, but he's a bad dude. He I mean.
And he also threatened Jonas twice this week. So if
I was Jonas, I would be concerned from my well

(06:40):
being because I have watched LaVar Arrington end careers and
probably honestly cut off years of people's lives. I've witnessed it.
I've seen the highlights of it where I'm going that
dude's gonna live a year less because that hit and
there's there's a lot of nails out there there's only
one North hills Ham, you know what I mean. Yeah,

(07:01):
that's what it's about. Man the hammermand you know it's
it is true. It definitely is true. Uh So, so
we've got a lot we want to get to you guys,
want to have fun to to start off here now
that LaVar has made us ball washing for eight minutes
on the air, just like made us do that. Um.

(07:24):
And you can check out that that article at the Athletic.
It's all over social media, um, you know. And then
it's basically just gonna come by of course, got live
sports going. Hasn't been he been hot lately? I'm trying
to follow his twitter feed. I think he's gotten one
or two right, Yeah, but but i mean in the
last several weeks. And I'm sure you're going to bring
it out on our show Sunk Well, I'm sure gonna

(07:45):
bring in lead to lap who is just the house
the house? When it comes to Live bet Jesus? Go ahead, Lee,
how has it been? How has Live Bet Jesus been?
I can't remember the last time he's one? What do
you mean he won last bet? There was a there
was a tennis match. Yeah, what were the odd doesn't

(08:06):
matter his truth though. Yeah, that was his recollection. I
don't know what the problem is here. I mean, we've
got a live sporting event going on live. Bet Jesus
is just waiting to jump on his prey and he sees,
he sees what's happening. He's monitoring everything that's going on
at St. Andrew's. Uh, you know, some people called the

(08:26):
Open Championship. I still called the British Open. You know,
That's just the way I operate, you know, kind of
do what I feel like that was kind of like
a slight right, like, you know, the British Open wasn't
big and not just the Open, like it's the one
that's been around forever, and a very weird looking like
a tea kettle trophy that they hand out I think
at the end is that the Claret jug Is that
what they call it? The Yeah, I don't I'm not

(08:48):
really familiar with the trophies in delf because I'm not
good enough to actually ever win anything in golf outside
of the scramble. I trust me. It's very disappointing. I was.
I'm here in Dallas for the Big twelve media days.
The conversation with Joel Clatt, who informed me he's not
like a plus, which means he plays under par more
often than that, and I was like, wow, I wish
I could do that. Nope. By the way, I heard

(09:10):
Joel Clatt speaking of ball Washing giving some good praise
over Notre Dame, very very optimistic on Notre Dame. I
saw him saying, this is going to be one of
the best Notre Dame teams in a while if I'm
not mistaken, and if I am mistaken, we'll take it
out of the podcast. I mean, this is I'm not
not winning yet. Don't worry about how good Notre Dame

(09:33):
is gonna be because I'm now here down in the
value family. Uh so, yeah, we agree. I agree. Yeah,
I was gonna take out the South like that. But
you do a better Cajun than Brian Kelly. Come on,
LaVar you doing. There ain't no way that Notre dag

(09:54):
gonna win the same way that it was winning when
I was there. I love my I am late and
we are here and let you go, Tiggers. I mean,
for a ninety million dollars, I'll say whatever you want
me to say in whatever accent you want me to say.

(10:14):
It believe that, Yeah, I would. I mean, aren't you
doubt that money for Jonas though I do not? And
it clearly did the same thing to Brian Kelly. Yeah,
it's the way we operate here. Uh So we are
brought to you speaking of money were dialectic his whole

(10:36):
way of talking. We are brought to you by Discover.
We could talk about how complicated other banks make it
to redeem credit card rewards, or we could talk about
how would Discover you can redeem your rewards for cashing
any amount at any time. I mean, talk about amazing.
We're more discover dot com slash redeemed rewards terms apply,
all right, so we do have in case you missed it.
Coming up later on, we got the return of the
b Q News and there's rumblings that lie bad Jesus

(10:59):
will an appearance to pick a winner, that's right, a
winner for the Open Championship of the British Open, or
whatever the hell you want to call it. But coming
up next, if you want to get a preview, a
look ahead at a major change, a major coaching change
in the NFL, We've got a report out for you.
It's next year on fs are be sure to catch

(11:19):
live editions of Two Pros and a Cup of Joe
with Brady Quinn, LaVar Arrington, and Jonas Knocks week days
at six am Eastern three am Pacific on Fox Sports
Radio and the I Heart Radio. You're ready, Ron, You're ready, Jonas,
You're ready. Que guys, I must warn you something strange

(11:46):
in my mind series. Now, La, how old were you
when this came out? I don't know what year was this.
It was the high school. Uh, it might be in
middle school. Man, it might have been early nineties. All

(12:07):
time banger though, right, Like you had to have this
had to have been the song Poison. It's pretty good.
Poison still gets played a lot on like TV shows
and basketball damns and stuff like. Man, yeah, I mean
this is like forever you turn this on, people start
moving to it. Oh yeah, especially where LaVar grew up.

(12:29):
I mean in the way he moved. I mean obviously
you know, as athletic endeavors. But yeah, they called it
the North hills Hip Thrust, and I mean it was
it was good. It was a good North hills Hip
Thrust going off. For certain there were to being good
at you're going to give people in trouble by the way,
Bell bib devot is Are they from Philly? No, They're
from Boston. Really Boston, Lee, can we look that up?

(12:53):
We can. You don't trust me on that, Okay, but
I think they're from Boston. Upon for their you maybe
before I think I think the uh yeah boys Demense
from phil I think after the my Space thing, everyone's
a little bit a little bit, you know, I guess

(13:17):
what I see now, I'm really not. I'm not now,
I'm not punch drunk like I am. I am. I'd
have been fine had you not doubled down. That's I
was like, oh no, he's having a moment. I was
trying so hard to not be incorrect about my space

(13:40):
when I was in school. Was repeat the line end
of quote. It happens. I'll never try that again. If
if if I'm off, I'm just accepting it. Even if
I thought I was on, I'm just I'm just never
going to do that again. Just go with it. That
was very um you know, that was traumatic for me.

(14:00):
Guys like I couldn't believe that, Like I'm looking at
im like I felt like we'll will Ferrell in that moment,
you know, like when he messed up, like he messed
things up in like old school and like he has
like those like a little weird fits. Now, I was like,
you know, I looked at one of my kids, like
go get me a beer. You know, I need to
shake it off. Um. So coming up later on, we

(14:23):
do have an update. There's a major story going on
in the NFL, and we've got an update because somebody
is not happy about this story. So we will have
that for you here a little over twenty minutes from now.
It's two pros and a cup of Joe here on
Fox Sports Radio, brought to you by the Dollar Shape Club.
The Dollar Shape Club six Blade Razor brings noticeably smooth
shaves of six stainless steel blades for swift hair removal
and a lubricating strip that keeps saying smooth. Dollar Shape

(14:45):
Club razors are sold at Dollar Shape Club dot com
or in stores. All Right, if you want to a
juicy July story in the NFL, because the NFL is
dragging its feet or whoever's dragging their feet on trying
to announce a suspension on Shawn Watson, we've got it
for you. Sean Payton, who is set to be a
studio analyst for Fox coming up this season. Uh, there's

(15:09):
a report out from Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald
that says the Dolphins, Chargers, and Cowboys could be teams
that draw Sean Payton back into coaching in two thousand
twenty three. Here's the best part, um, and this is
a direct quote from the article. Uh. The person who
is the source in this said, warm Weather a roster

(15:31):
good enough to compete and most importantly, control over personnel
decisions and having a good quarterback would be helpful, but
that isn't the number one or number two factor. The
associate insisted on a much lower scale. The close associate
said he would also prefer to work at a market
where he could golf some though his work ethic and

(15:52):
long hours largely live with those opportunities to the off season.
End quote. Uh, this is trolling. Correct sounds like this
sounds like a joke. It's literally sounds like a gag, like, Hey,
throw all those things in there and see how many
people run with it. I don't like, well love it, Johnson.

(16:14):
What are we talking about here? Here's what I can
provide you intel and insight from the golf world. If
that's really one of those key key points of what
he's looking to accomplish when he goes back and coaches.
It's gonna be hard if he coaches the Dolphins to
find a lot of good golf that's like relatively close
for him to get to where the Dolphins play and

(16:36):
where some of the best courses are. It's at least
an hour commute there and back, and maybe even two
if he wants to go up to West Palm from
where they're at, So that's not gonna be accessible or easy.
Like he's gonna almost have to take an entire day
off in order to accomplish that. If he goes to
l a similar story with traffic everything else, unless he's
helicoptering places like, it's just gonna be hard. I mean,

(16:58):
if if golf's really that high up on your list
of priorities, Dallas makes the most sense because you're gonna
have a lot of courses you have easier access to,
UH and get to thirty minutes away on a consistent basis,
maybe even closer than that. But I don't know, man,
I'm not sure what to make that. Isn't this Steve
Spurrier all over again? Like that that was always the

(17:22):
thing with Steve Spurrier. It just sounds like a reach
to me, Like it's like, why so early, why start
this right now? Is it? Is it because Deshaun Watson
doesn't have a version yet? Which, by the way, I mean,
why do I feel like this is like an O. J.
Simpson trial, Like it's like people are waiting for the

(17:43):
it's not even in the courthouse. It's not even in
the courthouse, Like it's nobody's gonna come running out of
the courthouse, like falling over themselves, people tripping, falling down
the stairs to be able to be the first one
to break the news that he wasn't guilty or whatever
it is. But man, the infatuation with waiting on what's
going to happen with Deshaun Watson's kind of that's kind

(18:06):
of interesting. But this is what we're trying to replace
those stories with. Like, you know, there's no doubt about it,
people are going to be interested in Sean payton services
as a as a coach. I mean, he's been uberly
successful as a coach um. But to kind of come
out and be like, all right, these these teams, I mean,

(18:28):
those are all teams that might. First of all, the
Chargers have shown they have no problem going in a
different direction and getting a different coach if they want to.
We all know that that Mike Mike McCarthy is probably
on a very very uh toasty seat right now. You know,
I think that you know, for what it's worth, if

(18:50):
they have the type of season that I think they're
gonna have, there's probably going to be a coaching change.
There's a strong possibility. So I mean, when you think
about these teams that that they're talking about, UM, I
don't know why they would would go in that direction
in Miami, but Miami has has underachieved for quite some

(19:12):
time now and they have changed coaches. Now, if you're
going to change a coach after one season, UM, I
don't know if that boat what bodes well for how
you look at that leadership, which I know, Q, you
love the leadership in Miami and how how you know
you know things are handled there? But UM, you know,

(19:35):
I don't know. I think that would not be a
wise move to go in a different direction so quickly,
and in Miami. I think part of the reason why
he wants to get his name out there to to
discuss your initial point is like we know how fast
these teams can move on from a head coach, Like
they get five six games in the season, and it's like,

(19:57):
if things aren't going well, they're already starting to get
the ball ruling. They might have fired the coach, but
they're already starting to put feelers out there. The rumors
start in the media, and they're kind of building that case.
And so we we've seen some early departures in seasons
where teams are gonna be willing to get rid of
a head coach. So that's out there for him. But

(20:17):
I think beyond that, like the funny thing you probably
about the o J thing, people people make careers off
the o J verdict, Like people tend to forget like
how that went down, and just I remember like everyone
was glued to their TV way to see what was
going to happen. But like that was it's so different
than now, where like there's maybe people hanging out like
a group chat room or something. Yeah, but did you

(20:39):
see the the the late I didn't even know if
this is a report or if it even matters, but
the latest on Deshaun Watson is that the judge um
she has focused her investigation or ruling, not on the
towel that's uh, that's been used, that's become a bulletproof
literally that that that's a waiter's tray now. But she

(21:02):
is she matching carpet the sun is aladdin um. But
but she is focused on four cases of the four
lawsuits against DeShawn, not five, as if that makes a difference,

(21:26):
like of the twelve that they brought forth, which could
have been another twelve. It just like like like they're
trying to like round down to make these numbers set.
One's bad enough, Two we got an issue, sixty or
seventy guys got a full blown problem. But but we're
now honing in on on four cases. That's what I

(21:49):
would be curious if I was in her position right
like where I have to cast judgment upon someone for
their actions. There's no doubt I would sit there and
look at them and say, why so many massage therapists? Why?
And and don't give me this bs about COVID because
that doesn't make any logical sense, right. You wanna be
rotating people all the time. Your professional athlete, we pulled

(22:13):
professional athletes. No one's got sixties massage therapists and a
year and a half time. Why are you going through Instagram?
Why aren't you going through proper channels? What is this?
And then at that point you I mean that alone,
regardless of of anything that comes out from the civil side,
which he's obviously settled a bunch of cases, that alone

(22:33):
should award a suspension of four games, just because like
clearly he was doing something wrong and has a problem.
And then from there, the magnitude of it and whatever
the other details that she's privy too that we're not okay,
that's gonna be at least sixty eight and if not
more so I I, like I said, I've said in
the entire time, it's gonna be fascinating to see what

(22:54):
punishment he gets because it could be anything from sixty
eight games to an entire season. And I think, honestly,
you could justify it regardless of what it is. You
could justify any of that suspension based on all the
stuff that's been reported. What's crazy is you could justify
the opposite direction too, and and put the man in
and and a you know, a program. I mean, the

(23:17):
more I'm thinking about it, it's like he's gonna get
put in a program like, that's that's what companies do.
If they have an employee that they don't want to
get rid of, they're going to They're going to give them, Yeah,
they're gonna yeah, they're gonna give them the opportunity to
rehabilitate themselves and show that if there was truly some

(23:40):
some wrongdoing there, which I don't think that anyone will
not acknowledge that there has been some wrongdoing in the scenario,
but this is still an employer, and I think that
that's the the key here is that when this arbitrator
comes back, it's it's it's now the NFL and NFL

(24:02):
p A sit in places where they're not going. The
NFL is going to get scrutinized anyway. They're they're gonna
get put um to task anyway, no matter what the
suspension is. If if it's if it's an indefinite suspension,
they'll get criticisms. If it's a short term suspension, they'll

(24:24):
catch criticisms for it. If it's anything in between, they're
gonna catch criticism. So that's the let's get that out
out of the way. So when this arbitrator comes back
and says it's a four game suspension. It's a six
game suspension, and and and I don't know if they're
going to release the details of what goes along with
the suspension, but I tend to think that someone that's

(24:49):
making a decision and the employer that's involved is probably
more focused on making sure that moving forward, Deshaun Wattson
does it make the same mistakes in his career, because
this is an embarrassment to the league and and so

(25:09):
to me, I don't know that the suspension is going
to be that large. I just don't think it's going
to be that large at this point. Do you think
it's gonna be community service? Like what is he gonna
have to do? Like, oh, he's going to pick up
trash on the certain probably get some like you know,
some service situations with it. Remember Tiger had to go

(25:29):
to rehab because he said he was a sex addict.
Remember that. Yeah, Yeah, you have to be careful what
what situations you put them in though it might trigger
that response. And I don't know, you can't have any
towels around, um, you gotta be careful as far as
what actions they'll be doing. And I don't know if
you want a lot of handwork, you know, the brady
is there a is there like a highway in the

(25:50):
Cleveland area that would be like the most daunting of
a task to clean up, Like is there like a
trapped more trash on one side of the highway in
Ohio or on one side of the road in Ohio?
Does he have to stay away from the flats and
going that community? The flats would not be an area
that you'd won him, you know, gallivanting around in what
the hell the flats in Cleveland? It's good spot? Yeah,

(26:13):
one good spot like good is in good? Is it good?
Like good? Good? It's good like if your eyes work
like you're like yeah, I mean you've got your different areas, right,
Like what West sixth Street is a good spot? Obviously
the flats are good. East Street, Like there's little little spots. Yeah, yeah.
I always just trying to stay closer to like Dublin, Chilicothee.

(26:35):
You're you're okay, Chilicothee is like three hours away. Dublin's too,
So now you're getting off the radar. Well, but maybe
he needs to be off the radar, you know, Like
I said, the helicopter into work every day, you know, jeez,
are jumping jacks all out. I didn't know that mean helicopter.

(26:55):
That was horrible timing on my part. I'm sorry. I
take that back strike that from the record. You every
word helicopter Watson. By the way, check out the Athletic
where LaVar there's a piece on LaVar Arrington the North
Hills Hammer. All right, it is two pros and Joe
Fox Sports Radio. To say that plug after after this

(27:19):
conversation kind of makes me kind of creepy. I'm really
not that type of guy, by the way, So we're
all good. So so coming up in about shortly here
on Fox Sports RADI we are gonna have another addition
of incase you missed that, somebody's not happy about a
story that is out there in the world of sports.
But before we get to all that fun stuff for
all the latest, let's turn it over. Uh too. I'm

(27:41):
still working on a name for San Pedro, the San
Pedro Powerhouse, Edmund Garcia. It's not bad about that, It's
not bad. How about power driver? Yeah, okay, you just
coming back to mass mandates in l A. Did I
hear that Petro says we are My wife said something
about that. I heard that last night because because it
might mess up with things for um, for my next

(28:03):
trip out to l A. Yeah, rampant around these parts.
I mean they were. They worked so well the first
three times, so why not, you know, he bring him
back the numbers, keep people paying attention. I mean, we've
got some sports going on right now, guys. Yeah, how
live live scores so you can read. It's refreshing. It

(28:27):
takes me back to my my older days when I
was working different ships. But yeah, I don't mind it.
The hundred and fiftieth Open Championship going on at St.
Andrew's in Scotland. American Cameron Young is your current leader.
He is at six under par. He's got a two
stroke advantage over four other players. Pre tournament favorite Rory

(28:47):
McElroy is out on the course. He's through five holes.
He is two under and four shots off the lead.
As for Tiger Woods, possibly playing in his last Open Championship,
at least at St. Andrew's where he's won two of
his three Open titles, he'll beginning his first round your
way at tenning in Eastern time. Sorry, LaVar, I know
you're not. I don't really care about Tiger, but I'm
required by law to mention what Tiger Woods is doing

(29:08):
and golfers are interesting night, uh interested in baseball? We
had the Mets beating the Braves seven three, New York
taking two of three in that series against Atlanta. They've
got a two and a half game lead on the
Braves top the n L East. The Mariners swept a
double header against the Nashvills by scores of six to
four or two to one. Seattle's won ten in a
row for the first time since two thousand two, and

(29:29):
the Orioles run their winning streak to ten in a row,
first time they've done that since nine nine. After a
seven one win over Jonas's Cubs, the Dodgers were trailing
six nothing in St. Louis to the Cardinals scored two
in the seventh, three and the eighth too. In the ninth,
the rally back for a seven six win. Twins walk
off with the four one win over the Brewers. In
a battle of division leaders, Jose Miranda three run walk
off over wins at for Minnesota. Yankees get by the

(29:52):
Reds seven six in ten, and the Marlins beat the
Pirates five to four in ten. Now both the Yankees
and Marlins won their games on walk off wild pitches.
Giants walk off with the fourth three one of the
Diamondbacks and a Brandon Crawford RBI single, and the Blue
Jays fired their manager, Charlie Montoya before their game against
the Phillies, then go out and beat Philadelphia eight to
two with interim skipper John Schneider leading the team. Coming

(30:14):
up tonight in baseball, we have the San Francisco Giants
taken on the Milwaukee Breweris That is our Discover card

(30:35):
Back to LaVar Arrington, Brady Quinn and Jonas Knocks and
Fox Sports Radio Studio. Thank you, Eddie. By the way,
I feel bad for any cub fan born after two
thousand sixteen because you're never ever going to see them
win a World Series ever. Ever, It's never gonna happen.
You You have set yourself up for a bag of
crap to root for for several months out of the

(30:56):
year for the next year. I was at the Rangers
athletic game last night here in in Dallas. Yes, that
place is rocking. First off. First off, I've been in
the new stadium. Um, it's really nice, super super nice.
Thank god it's got a roof on it because otherwise

(31:17):
it was blazing hot out. But that crowd was sweet.
I mean, that is one of those like baseball venues
that if you want a good crowd, good environment, like
you you come see a Rangers game. But one of
the one of the things that I noticed and and
I guess, look, it's been a while since I played baseball.
I follow it, but not to the degree that you
kind of see it differently obviously when you see a

(31:37):
game in person, that shift like for hitters, dude, I
mean it really does eliminate. I mean I look at
it and say this, It's very similar to like the
basketball conversations we have about how Steph Curry three point shooting,
how it's kind of changed the game, and people are
looking at like what changes you can make to uh
make the game more palatable palatable at times with the

(32:00):
shift it's like I get it, Like you've got a
bunch of pole hitters, and so you're basically stacking the
field in a in a way that's gonna take away
their ability to get a hit. But my god, learn
how to drag bunt, like, learn how to hit an
opposite field like it's it's it's not that difficult. Like
I don't know that we need to change baseball because
we can't get someone to figure out how to hit
it down the third baseline for probably a double um.

(32:23):
But anyway, that was like one of the biggest topics
conversation is we kept watching hitters ground out the second
and ground out the first and ground out the second.
It was like, well, just bunt, just figured out how
to get it down the third baseline. There's no one
within sixty ft of it. So how much is a game?
I don't know. We're there on behalf the Big twelve.
M Brett Brett, your Mark was nice enough the new

(32:47):
commissioners to invite us all um, and so we were
we were up there hanging out talking about college football
and all those big topics us all as in the
Big Neon kickoff crew. Um, there was there was no
actually I was the only person there from the Big
New kick He's the face of Big New kickoff. I

(33:07):
needn't come on, man, Q is the dude. Man, that's
not it. I try to go out there because I
feel like it's important to continue to, you know, have
good conversations and communication with with the stakeholders that are
part of college football. And obviously there's a lot going
on right now in college football, so I think it's
important to UM to go there and obviously make sure

(33:30):
you're representing the company you're with, but also just be
able to have those conversations with a lot of people
who are making decisions right now, but out a network
that's part and don't forget about us when when when
they come to get you, be like, listen, at least LaVar,
but you could do Jonas too, that would be great.
But at least can I be your carry on luggage, LaVar?

(33:51):
Please bring me with you. Come on, man, let's let's
all go hang out and if we win like that
with Q, man, I'm I'm gonna higher you don't anymore,
He's the all I don't care. I'll be your valet.
We'll get into it top of next hour though, because
there's some decent little stories that came out of it.
So at that we had like like boots on the ground,

(34:12):
big twelve media days, good stuff. All right, It is
a Two Pros and a Cup of Joe. Fox Sports Radio,

(35:17):
you here coming up top the next hour a little
over ten minutes from now, we will have an update.
Somebody is trying to change the narrative on a group
of teams in the world of football. We will have
that discussion with you right here on fs ARE before
we have another edition of In Case you missed it,
want to let you know we are brought to you
by the Dollar Shave Club. The six Blade razor brings
noticeably smooth shaves with six stainless steel blades for swift

(35:39):
hair removal and a lubricating strip that keeps things smooth.
Dollar Shave Club razors are sold at Dollar shape Club
dot Com or in stores. Sometimes you can't get to
everything in the world of sports or entertainment. Good thing.
The guys are here to bring you in case you
missed it, and for that we turn it over to
our executive producer, Lee Do Do Do Do Fellas the

(36:04):
story that just keeps on giving. Zack Wilson's mom took
to Instagram to tell fans to stop calling her friends, This,
of course, coming after allegations that Zack Wilson had a
very special relationship with one of her friends, Ummy Hopper. Mean,
so hold on, hold on, hold on, keep what's she's saying?
Zack Wilson's mother and Lisa took to Instagram talking about

(36:27):
and well, football fans harassing her friends calling their cell phones.
I don't know what exactly they're doing on those on
the cellphones or what they're saying, but they're looking. It
doesn't sound like this is a story and you just
want to intercheck the whole Homie Hopper cougar nation thing. No,
I think there was a video. I'm just I'm just
passing on Lisa. Is more relevant to to the mom.

(36:49):
Homie Hopper was the girlfriend? Correct? How about the people
that that don't have lives that are searching up who
her friends are on social media and trying to reach
out to that. How about people who don't have who
are searching out her mom's friends and then talking about
it as a story on on a radio show. Yeah,

(37:13):
I don't know why why do you got to tackle
like that? I just I don't really understand the story here.
But because people are calling her his mom's friends. Now
the story is the mom is cloud chasing again. What
do you mean by that? Lamar, Well, she was cloud,
Jason dorn Draft, are you saying she likes attention? I

(37:34):
mean it appears that that could be it. I mean,
I don't know the lady, but you know she's she's
on our radio show. And then case you missed it,
we're yeah, I'll put it this way, and I stand
exactly what I said yesterday. If if this doesn't work
out this year, it's gonna be used against him. I'm

(37:54):
telling you, the whole thing will be his mom, the
Hobbie Hopper, the whole thing will be used against it.
And by the way, if the command knows too well,
they better make sure they have the rights to this storyline,
because I can guarantee you some parodies they're going to
come out in in the adult world, you know, if

(38:15):
you know what I mean, see but Jonas will find
them too well. I mean, if I can use Lee's password,
I mean I can get whatever you give, whatever you
guys want here, what else do you guys? In case
you missed this, we talked about it yesterday. Baker Mayfield
losing his longtime sponsor Progressive Insurance Will. Fast food chain

(38:39):
bow Jangles, based out of North Carolina, has reached out
on Twitter seemingly wanted to UH to pair up with
Baker running with the whole Baker idea to help push
their biscuits. How about that he's not even the starting
quarterback yet he's already got sponsorship. Look at him. Good
for him. Man. You guys didn't ever had Bojangles before
I have. There was one from my mom. Well, I

(39:01):
don't know if it's still there, but from my mom
at dad's house. Yeah, I got good chicken. It was good. Um,
I do it's is it supposed to be fast food?
It is fast food? Well, okay, like I remember eating there,
don't thinking Dan, this as slow as hell, Like this
just must be the South because it was slow as
hell to get food at what was I guess considered

(39:23):
a fast food restaurant. Yeah, there was one right next
door to the radio station I worked. I worked at
in Charleston and right as you turn out, you would
see it every morning. But the great thing was because
it was you know, radio, and it was market eighty three,
everybody was broke, so they never really got much of
our business. But it seemed to be always packed, like
everybody was really really high in bow Jangles. There's also

(39:43):
one right next to Williams Bryce in Columbia where that's
like the place everybody goes when they're hammered after South
Carolina games and they just rifle through biscuits and chicken.
And also many times you visited South Carolina since you've
left once Yeah, and that was probably ten years ago.

(40:04):
You were talking about South Carolina like those are the
greatest days of your life. Man, that was actually I
was actually supposed to go there for my bachelor party
and then what was that thing? Oh, COVID hit and
then that shut that down too, So thanks for rubbing
and in lamar, I didn't get a bachelor party. How
long did you you you're recently married. Yeah, I thought
you'd been married longer than two Yeah, man, congratulations, invite

(40:29):
a Brady. He made no effort to go. It was terrible.
That's not true. Your your wedding you had during COVID
just so you would have a less guest than would
be to be cheaper. Literally admitted that on it. Guess
what though, it worked right back. You know, sorry, honey,
some people, some people like postponed for two years just

(40:50):
to have a normal wedding. Jonas literally tried as fast
as he could to get a during COVID his same money. Yeah, sorry, howdy.
Here's the wedding cake. It's a chocolate aisle. I don't
to tell you. COVID shut everything down, bakerries or closed
like the hurdles to jump through in order to even
go to the wedding and made it impossible. It was like, well,
you actually have to have a certificate from a doctor
who's visited the moon in order to be able to

(41:13):
come to make sure your COPD compliant. Here you Jonas, Yeah,
congratulations on the marriage. I appreciate it. Man. Fox Sports
