Speaker 2 (00:32):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 1 (00:37):
You know where LaVar screwed up with this song? He
wasn't specific because it should start right here where a punch.
Speaker 3 (00:44):
Is at the right course. I'm with you on that.
Speaker 1 (00:46):
Yeah, he didn't.
Speaker 3 (00:48):
That's not surprising. Though not surprising, he didn't.
Speaker 4 (00:53):
Some guys, you know, they've got to go tape and interview,
you know, they find out last minute, so they have
to miss the show. And some guys a travel days
go to take a day off.
Speaker 1 (01:06):
Yeah, I mean, you know, it seemed like like something
was kind of kind of thrown on your plate impromptu,
you know. Yeah, well, well everybody else got to enjoy
Wriggley Field, like.
Speaker 4 (01:18):
Yeah, yeah, you know, I was really really happy about that, like, hey,
can you come film this thing at Rigulant, Like, yeah,
I love the Cubs, you know, got to get to
know the organization a little bit during my Notre Dame
days and Samarga was there, so like the whole thing
just got really exciting and I got to sing the
(01:40):
seventh inning stretch one time, throw the first pitch, all
that good stuff. Yeah, hell, y'all come back for that.
Oh by the way, you have to the interview now,
and you're not gonna.
Speaker 3 (01:48):
Be able to go. I was like, okay, yeah, sweet.
Speaker 1 (01:50):
But but don't worry. They brought a jersey for you and.
Speaker 3 (01:54):
With a little bit of a ketchup stain on it.
That was great.
Speaker 1 (01:56):
Oh yeah, oh yeah, yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:59):
It's it's like payback for the the Jack Johnson hockey
jersey you got with a little chicken.
Speaker 3 (02:04):
Parm sauce on that.
Speaker 1 (02:05):
Well, I mean that's actually more insulting because in Chicago
you can't use ketchup on your hot dogs. You're not allowed.
It's just like it's a disgrace if you do that.
Speaker 4 (02:13):
And so the fact, well I'm not gonna make the
assumption that whoever got the ketchup on there it was
from a hot dog.
Speaker 1 (02:19):
Oh okay, well could be from a burger. Yeah you
ever know, Yep, that's true. But I know this. It
is two Pros and a Cup of Joe here on
Fox Sports Radio. He's Brady Quinn, I'm Jonas Knox with you.

you like and who you don't. Go check out our
brand new channel on YouTube. Begin just search two pros
FSR and subscribe. I don't know what the hell that
was between the Cowboys and the Giants, but it was awesome.
(03:02):
That was awesome, and for all this conversation, and I know, look,
the interception in overtime was bad, but there was a
lot of conversation about Russell Wilson. They should make the
switch and go to Jackson dart Man. He turned back
the clock. He turned back the clock and we can
get We'll let Pete Prisco get fixated on the interception.
It was rough, you know that kind of you know not,
(03:26):
but that was awesome yesterday. And Brandon Aubrey, who's basically
justin Tucker, but you know, he's not a weirdo. He's
and he didn't even play football Notre Dame like it
was a soccer player, and he's just he's now a
drilling sixty plus yard field goals at a clip we've
never seen before. But that was really really fun. Greg
(03:47):
Olsen made the point, you know, talking, you know, with
Joe Davis, like, hey man, we've called a lot of
great games before. Hard to think of one that was
better than that one yesterday. And the Cowboys get it
done in a shootout in overtime.
Speaker 3 (04:00):
Yeah, I mean, look offensive duel. You know, I don't.
I'm not one he's.
Speaker 4 (04:04):
Gonna sit there and say that it always makes for a
great game. This was This is a really good game
and moments had a lot of questions. I was like,
what the hell was going on with James Hudson, Like
he had four patalies.
Speaker 3 (04:15):
Within six plays. Oh I'm watching that. I'm like, this
guy's melting down.
Speaker 4 (04:18):
What's happening here? But Dag played phenomenal. Russell played phenomenal
with exception.
Speaker 3 (04:24):
Of one play.
Speaker 4 (04:25):
And it doesn't come down to that one play, although
I'm sure Pete Presco will say it does. But they're
owing two now, and one of the concerns was Week one.
You know, Rustin played great. There really wasn't any where
to go with the football. I don't put that all
on him. They had a much better game play this
time around. He is surely not the reason why they're
owing two. But you and I both know they can
(04:47):
try to push off putting in Jackson Dart all they want. Eventually,
the media of the fans, everyone's going to clamber for
them to put in Jackson Dart if they don't start
winning some football games, regardless of how well Russell Wilson's playing.
Speaker 3 (04:59):
That's just the bottom lock.
Speaker 1 (05:00):
Yeah, and it's I also, I look at it and
I go, if you're Brian day Ball, like this is
this has felt like to me the end of the
road for Brian day Ball and Joe Shane if they're say,
not a playoff team. But I think that if they're
(05:20):
not a playoff team, the way they survive is if
Jackson Dart shows enough to where they're like, we don't
want to just throw away whatever chemistry he's built with
this coaching staff and here, you know, with our team,
So let's just continue on with this and just groom
him to be the guy. And the schedule's brutal, as
(05:41):
you mentioned before, like it just it feels like it's
only a matter of time. But if you're Russell Wilson, man,
he went out yesterday and the uh you know, it
was kind of a kind of a throwback you know
years ago Russell Wilson. Yeah, yeah, I mean this was
they was was really well done guy. Yeah. And also
(06:01):
I would say this the good news is for the
for the Dallas Cowboys, you know, they it does feel
like they are stopping the run. The bad news is
it does feel like Michael Parsons probably could have made
an impact in that game as well too.
Speaker 4 (06:17):
Yeah, maybe not quite as prolific of a of a
day for Russell Wilson.
Speaker 1 (06:21):
So so that was that was impressive. Dak Prescott afterwards
spoke about the first win for Brian Schottenheimer as head
coach of the Cowboys and what like this.
Speaker 3 (06:31):
What did you say to Shotty after the game? He
said it was pretty emotional in there.
Speaker 5 (06:35):
Yeah, just gave him the game ball first career win,
told him how much we all appreciated him, told him
that game was the epitome of him and his coaching style,
just the resiliency he has and the way he and
and I mean the way he carries himself, the way
he coaches, the standards, the standard and at the end
of the day, that's winning. And that's what this game,
you know, the end of it was. And credit to him.
(06:57):
We're behind him. He deserved that first win. Tough one
to get and I know he'll never forget it. I
won't forget it. I'm sure every gut in that lockchrome
won't forget this one.
Speaker 1 (07:06):
So the Dallas Cowboys are sitting at one and one
with an overtime win over the over the New York
Giants yesterday. I mean, you know, they look I would
say they look better then maybe some people expected them
to be. They were very doom and gloom. I don't
think they're a playoff team, but it does feel like
those guys really like Brian Schottenheimer and at least offensively,
(07:30):
they've got something going on there. And plus they're handing
out contracts like record contracts now like whatever they saved
on Micah Parsons are just handing out to other guys
on the team. So it does feel like at least
there's some some positive momentum there for the Dallas Cowboys,
something something to think about as opposed to the guy
that left that's probably going to be playing for a
super Bowl in Green Bay.
Speaker 4 (07:50):
Yeah, and look, I think it's it's a division game.
It's a big win for them in that respect. You know,
Brian Schottahamer's trying to make his mark and this is
his first win. Called gutsy however you want to describe it.
But good, good team.
Speaker 3 (08:03):
Win for Dallas.
Speaker 4 (08:04):
And here's the thing is, after all of the off
the season talk with about Mike and everything else, we'll
find out, you know, we'll find out how everything works
out in the end for the Dallas Cowboys, if they'll
be better off.
Speaker 3 (08:17):
I have a hard time believing they'll be, just.
Speaker 4 (08:19):
Because in part Micah went to a really good team
and the Green Bay Packers. But you know, look, maybe
maybe the Dallas Cowboys who continually keep signing players. By
the way, they just signed Tyler Smith to a huge deal. Yeah,
it's like they clearly they have the money to have
signed Micah Parsons to that deal when Deron Plan and
Tyler Smith both get deals immediately following that, they have
(08:42):
the cash, they just didn't want to spend it on
Micah Parsons.
Speaker 1 (08:45):
Yeah, that's correct. You don't you don't tell them how
to spend their money. No, no, no, they've they've got the
under control. Everybody's getting paid. Like in fact, if you're
a Dallas Cowboy and you're looking for a contract, like
just go now, because apparently they're they're just handing out
deals left and right. So that was good. Now, you
know the Dallas Cowboys. Next week, the Dallas Cowboys, they
(09:08):
will go to two and one on the air, So
the Dallas Cowboys will be two and one on the
air because they will be going on the road to
take on the Bears, who no, yeah, they're the worst
team in the league. Yeah, that's the worst football team
in the league. They are awful. And the Detroit Lions
(09:30):
put them in a clown suit yesterday at Ford Field
and there was no letup. There was no letup whatsoever.
Dan Campbell, the Lions head coach, said it best that
even though the coordinators left, the most important part of
the mix for the Detroit Lions is still there.
Speaker 6 (09:50):
I think we answered a lot of questions as it
pertains back to what you said. You know this, I've
said this all along, man. This this train keeps rolling, man.
And we got we got any here, and it always
is going to start with the players. We got players,
we got playmakers, and they're made the right way. They're
the right kind of guys.
Speaker 7 (10:07):
Man.
Speaker 1 (10:07):
That was an absolute ass whoop.
Speaker 4 (10:09):
And yesterday and people were questioning at the end, you know,
going forward on fourth down, they could.
Speaker 3 (10:16):
Have catch kicked the field goal. And I don't know
if you have the Ben Johnson sound.
Speaker 1 (10:20):
Oh yeah we got it.
Speaker 7 (10:21):
Yeah, that's going to play that when you're around this
league long enough, these games happened, and uh, it doesn't
feel any better when it when it happens. But the
good teams I've been on, they find a way to respond,
and I know our guys will do that.
Speaker 3 (10:35):
Dan can't well right it up anyone that fourth and
what's he supposed to do is fourth and goal? What
do you want him to do? Yeah, he could have
kicked the field goal.
Speaker 1 (10:43):
They don't kick field goals, they go for it there,
So he was he was doing what he's supposed to do.
Speaker 3 (10:47):
If that's what he does. Did he see me irritated
from that?
Speaker 1 (10:51):
I think he's just so yeah, let me listen that
of course are going to do that. I'm it's it's bad, man.
Speaker 4 (11:00):
Well it's bad because I think the hard part is, like,
this takes time. And then the expectation was Ben Johnson
was gonna get there and to magically snap his fingers
or I guess toes if you're a Lrena and everything
was just gonna turn around, right right?
Speaker 3 (11:16):
That is that her using her toes again?
Speaker 1 (11:20):
It's also yeah, that's wild.
Speaker 3 (11:22):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (11:23):
Anyway, The point is everyone thought this was gonna happen overnight.
It's not how this works. It's it's a slow process.
There's a lot on Caleb Williams plate. There's a lot
of fundamental things that are trying to probably coach out
of him that he's been doing wrong for years, and
so that stuff takes time and he has to be
(11:43):
willing to adjust an adapt because if he's not after
this year that organization is gonna have to make a
decision and they're you have to decide is it Ben
Johnson or is it Kill Williams. And my bet is
that depending on how this year goes, because there's even
a thought in my head that based on how Tyson
Bagett looked, based on him geting the contract extension before
(12:04):
the season, there's a thought that maybe they would go with,
you know, Tyson Bajef. Things keep going this direction for
a while, maybe like Caleb sid Watch, maybe they feel
like he's able to, you know, grow from that. I
don't know, but that looked so uncompetitive yesterday, which we'd
division opponents, that it made you see just how far apart,
(12:24):
you know, the Detroit Lions are, how they're built in comparison.
Speaker 3 (12:27):
To the Bears.
Speaker 1 (12:28):
Well, one of the biggest lies that was told was
when people said, well, you know, Ben Johnson's the guy,
they'll bring him in and to your point, you know
that it's it's gonna you know, they'll snap their toes,
their fingers and they'll get this thing figured out. And
it's like I kept thinking to myself, well, is he
bringing Pinay Seals, he bringing David Montgomery or Jamiir Gibbs
(12:48):
or aman Ros Saint Brown. Is he bringing those guys
with him, because that's also a large part of why
they were so successful. They've got the players, and that's
why Dan Campbell pointed that out, like, you know, it
starts with the players. We've still got the players there.
I like Ben Johnson, I like his demeanor. I think,
you know, he's the guy for the job. But that
(13:10):
roster is nowhere close to what the Lions were at all,
like nowhere close. And yesterday Caleb Williams will get all
the you know, he'll get all the shots, and and
people will point out, well, you know Ben Johnson left,
Jared Goff and and you know all this talk about
man that the Bears defense got clowned yesterday. They got
(13:32):
absolutely exposed. And you know, Dennis Allen's a new defensive
coordinator there. But you know, Ryan Polls the GM like
there's just been there's been things that they've done. Colston
Lovelin like it. You know, he's they spent a top
ten pick on him.
Speaker 3 (13:48):
Where is he?
Speaker 1 (13:50):
You know, they they went out and traded for Montees
Sweat because they wanted a pass rusher. A couple of
years ago and then they gave him this monster deal.
Where's I mean, oh.
Speaker 4 (14:00):
Wait, it's some reasons why you don't draft the tight
end of the top ten is you're not going to
reap the immediate return.
Speaker 1 (14:05):
For that day. When Prisco comes on, should I read
his analysis of love when over a Tyler War?
Speaker 4 (14:13):
Okay, yeah, well yeah that, let's just really wind him
up this morning, you know, let's just get.
Speaker 1 (14:18):
Yes, it's just yeah, So I look at it. I go, man,
this is this is going to take some time. I'm
trying to know how much time certain people have there
in the building. But whatever, whatever people thought Ben Johnson
was going to bring with him, it wasn't going to
be a flip the switch and everything's going to be fixed.
(14:40):
Like yeah, Caleb Williams like there does seem to be
like he's making progress, Like he's he's he's playing a
little bit better. The interception not ideal yesterday. But this
is not just a Caleb Williams thing. And it's also
not just a well, thank god they got rid of
Matt Ebraflus, God boy, thank god they got rid of him,
because that was the issue. So there's problems there. There's
(15:02):
a lot of problems there, and they that's why they're
the worst team in the league, even worse in New Orleans.
Speaker 3 (15:07):
They're not the worst team in the league. They're not
the worst team.
Speaker 1 (15:10):
Who's worse?
Speaker 4 (15:11):
I would say New Orleans is down there. Oh, I
think the Panthers are down there.
Speaker 1 (15:15):
Not my power rankings.
Speaker 4 (15:16):
I mean, the Browns haven't looked good. I mean outside
of them being competitive versus the Bengals. They didn't look
good yesterday.
Speaker 1 (15:21):
Yeah, but at least those teams are competitive.
Speaker 3 (15:23):
The Browns were not competitive yesterday.
Speaker 1 (15:25):
Well, no, I'm saying the Browns are competitive in Week one.
They probably should have won that game against Cincinnati in
Week one, Like.
Speaker 3 (15:31):
Well the Bears look creating that opening drive.
Speaker 1 (15:33):
Well, yeah, you know that's a good point. You know,
so maybe maybe they're not thirty two of my power.
Speaker 3 (15:38):
Competitive that that drive.
Speaker 1 (15:41):
It's just like.
Speaker 3 (15:43):
I don't feel like I feel like the Panthers have
really had a shot all year.
Speaker 7 (15:47):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (15:47):
How do you feel about Bryce Young at this point?
By the way, it's been tough?
Speaker 3 (15:52):
Man, I'm not putting at all on him.
Speaker 4 (15:55):
No, I just that team needs so much he's not
going to get it in time to be able to
figure this out. It's just it's an upheel bad I
feel like watching them yesterday first the Cardinals was just
two teams in different spots. You know, the Cardinals are
a team that's I mean, I don't know if you
said it or Levarce said it. Towards the Division. I mean,
(16:15):
I think they're a potential wildcard team. Yeah, maybe they
went the division. Yeah, I don't think they're better than
the Rams. But the point is there's just two teams
are completely different positions right now.
Speaker 1 (16:26):
Team at can play though you can play. He's got
he's got got some talent there going back home to
Arizona like he's uh, you know, but feels like it's
going to be take a lot more in that. And
it's also you just know in the back of your
mind with David Tepper there, it's only a matter of
time before he just you know.
Speaker 3 (16:41):
It blows a gas fires everyone.
Speaker 4 (16:44):
It's gonna be what walks into a random restaurant, you know,
it takes off the host's hat and just starts to
smack him with it. You imagine that Dallas is someone
with water in a suite, that it's all coming full circle.
Speaker 1 (16:55):
That's still the most mind boggling thing I've I've heard
like all these times, but you know, all these owners
with all all these issues, and Jerry Jones is this.
I don't ever recall an owner walking in to a
roadside bar on the way to the draft and before
he gets to the war room to go over the draft,
he walks in because he doesn't like the signage out
in front and makes the guy take his hat off
(17:16):
and does it for him. It's just bananas, and I'm
thinking got punished for it. I just think that was
acceptable behavior for some reason.
Speaker 4 (17:24):
I just say, he's a billionaire. It's like you're doing
that stuff, man, jeez.
Speaker 1 (17:27):
Yeah, Well it is two pros and a cup of Joe.

as we mentioned, you were in Evansville going to Evanston.
Why do I say that, Jesus God, I mean.
Speaker 3 (19:03):
You're a big Illinois Cats. Here's slip for you.
Speaker 1 (19:06):
So you were out there with the guys, big noon
kickoff Oregon Northwestern Oregon. You know, pretty pretty dominant performance there.
First time this season, though, that mother nature has really
kicked everybody in the balls a little bit. Huh.
Speaker 4 (19:22):
It seemed like, yeah, yeah, there's some big time delays.
I want to say that was a USC Purdue. It
got toly like four hours.
Speaker 3 (19:30):
We didn't get.
Speaker 4 (19:30):
Delayed nor to the game, but the weather was not great. However,
once our show started, the weather actually kind of turned up,
so it was nice. Yeah, no complaints. I love Chicago,
my favorite favorite big city to go to. Love the people,
love the food, love just everything. It's an awesome town.
So I had a great time. Unfortunately though, because you know,
(19:55):
Chicago's college football teams do Notre Dame and that was
quite quite the end quite the game and unfortunate for
Notre Dame that not come out on top.
Speaker 3 (20:03):
So that, uh, that did not really help out with
the weekend.
Speaker 1 (20:09):
What what went wrong?
Speaker 4 (20:12):
Well, I mean, here's the thing, a lot of people
are going to place on the pat which even then,
you know two things. One our defense, Stike just couldn't
get a stop and get off the field. Granted, you know,
it was a terrible missed holding call on the on
the touchdown play, I will admit that, but I also
feel like if you leave games in the hands of
(20:34):
the officials, you know, it's it's tough to complain about that.
Like I went through the Bush Bush game. You know,
there's multiple plays besides the Bush push that were terribly officiated.
You know, everyone goes back and looks at that play
because it was an illegal play back then. But even
the fact that like Liner fumbled when he was in
bound the clock should have ran out. They never should
(20:54):
have gotten that the clock stopped to put them in
a position for that, and the officials actually gave them
like an actually yard and a half forward of progress
where they should have been more at the three so
they wouldn't be able to run that play. But I digress.
That's one example of many, and really the history of
Better Dame where there's been a lot of calls that
(21:14):
have knock gone their way.
Speaker 3 (21:16):
And that was one where it was a no call.
Speaker 4 (21:18):
It would have obviously changed probably that you know, the
outcome of that game, But you can't put on the officials.
Speaker 3 (21:25):
So you know, the pat hurt.
Speaker 4 (21:27):
That's that's tough for Tyler Buckner, especially considering his journey
and everything he's been through, but also for a Notre
Dame team that look, they're O two. You know, they've
played two really good Top twenty football teams that they
lost my total four points, you know, won by field goal,
won the last second play by one. So uh, it's
it's tough sledding. There's they are a good football team.
(21:50):
They are to be one of the top teams of
college football.
Speaker 3 (21:53):
I know. Seeing that O and two, people will.
Speaker 4 (21:55):
Say, oh, I mean, okay, they didn't play the cupcakes
like your school did. Okay, you know, like like Nebraska's
really puffing their chest out right now. It's like, all right,
we'll see this week you actually play Michian, like you
actually play an opponent, So we'll see how that goes.
But my general point is State, you know, there's Penn
States went on that board too, but they can't even
(22:16):
cover half the spreads they get against some of these teams.
We you know, there's no conference to play for, no
conference championship. So the problem is even if you went
out and you go ten and two, is the rest
of the schedule strong enough, you know, based on how
they've adjusted the strength to schedule, do they get enough
points for playing those teams early in the season close?
(22:38):
And if they dominate like they did last year following
the Northern Illinois loss, they still make it in. Like
I would say this, what we know for sure is
Notre Dame now allows their faith to be held in
everyone else's hands. Where if you have a bunch of
teams that have a stronger strike the schedule and are
ten and two, they're not getting in. I mean, USC
(22:58):
is the only team of their the rest of their
schedule that's probably gonna be ranked by the time they play.
That's it. So that resume is not gonna hold up
very well. So at this point, to be two games
of the season to feel like you're not playing for
a national championship, it's tough. It's tough. So all they
can do is do the best they can to improve
(23:20):
win by as much.
Speaker 3 (23:21):
As they can. But there needs to be improvements on defense.
Speaker 4 (23:26):
How going left, he's with the Bengals, Chris ash comes
in as a defensive coordinator and they cannot get pressure.
And I'll remind people how going brought a lot of pressure.
I'm not sure if Chris ash is worried about some
of the new pieces they have. I'm not sure if
that's just not his personality. Whatever the case is, this
(23:46):
defense looks entirely different than what it did a year ago,
and it's not like there's that much turnover and some
of the roster and they've recruited for a while and
developed well. So there's a lot of pressure Chris Ash
that if it's a coordator to the.
Speaker 1 (24:01):
Day right now, all right, So now, what would you
if you had to guess, all right, if you went
on DraftKings, what would you guess the odds are for
Notre Dame to make the college football Playoff right now?
Speaker 4 (24:14):
If you had to guess, just, oh gosh, plus.
Speaker 3 (24:22):
Two thousand. I think they're twitter to one.
Speaker 1 (24:24):
Okay, according to DraftKings plus one sixty. Really, so one hundred,
one hundred wins, you won sixty if Notre Dame makes that. Well,
I'm just saying like that that I was under the
impression that's shocking. Yeah, that's that's the part that.
Speaker 4 (24:45):
What I think what's confusing about it is they're an
owed to football team. They just dropped sixteenth spots. They're
still ranked. They are ohed too, after all everything USC
has done, which by the way, USC is right now
the eight people. But really the only thing that matters
is the College Fall Playoff. Is after everything USC has done,
(25:06):
they're still not right to head them Notre Dame. So
it goes to show you like there's a thought to
this is still a good football team. They just have
played a tough schedule so far and they don't pick
it up. So if you want to use it, they're
looking at it this way. They've got one last lifelight,
and that lifeline is they've got to go and beat
the crap out of every team they play. They hope that,
(25:28):
you know, the SEC cannibalizes itself. You get some teams
that kind of start to fall apart, and obviously Ohio
State Penn State have to play one another.
Speaker 3 (25:36):
You know, Miami flour to play this week.
Speaker 4 (25:38):
There's all sorts of games where these teams will clash,
they will collide, and so they're gonna be dropping some
games too. We just haven't gotten to that part of
the schedule yet.
Speaker 1 (25:48):
And you know you mentioned the two losses. I mean,
both those teams are top ten now, you know, Miami's fourth,
Texas A and m is tenth, so you know, maybe
they're you know, they're gonna get extra credit for those
lossesespecially if they run the table and they smack USC.
You know, so maybe not all is lost, all right,
maybe there's still still some hope there for Notre Dame.
Speaker 3 (26:09):
I did.
Speaker 1 (26:10):
I was thinking about you this weekend though. You really
got the shaft in that Georgia Tennessee game. That's, yeah,
that's my fault.
Speaker 4 (26:20):
I picked a game. I picked a game where they've
they had a hook on it. That always leads you
susceptible to that. But yeah, Quinn's wins three and two.
So for those of you that faded me, sit your
ass down.
Speaker 3 (26:33):
Quinn's wins you'll be a win. Now.
Speaker 4 (26:36):
We still have some work to do. We're not gonna,
you know, just feel comfortable at three and two. Easily
should have been four and one. Yes, but that was
that was a tough one to swallow. So you're not
gonna you're not gonna say that you are on the right, yeh.
Speaker 1 (26:52):
Clemson Georgia Tech game, which Clemson does not look anywhere
close to to what you know the preseason to miserable.
Speaker 4 (27:00):
Yes, if you want to talk college football, that might
be the biggest disappointment.
Speaker 3 (27:07):
I'm trying to think back.
Speaker 4 (27:08):
I mean Florida State the year they went to and ten,
they were ranked really really high to to start the season.
This Clemson team is and I don't know what like
my thoughts are. The O line play is not good,
Gar that their offensive coordator needs to get a lot
more criticism for what he's done because they just have
(27:30):
not taken the next step. And Clubnick has not played
well either. So all three of those things are really
hurting that scene right now. Clemson still has too much talent.
I mean, you talk to scouts and evaluate its most
talented teams of college football, but what they've showcased so
far is awful, absolutely awful.
Speaker 1 (27:51):
Haines King, you know, we don't need to throw a
touchdown passes. Come on, please just just give him the rock,
all right, Just give him the rock and let him
figure it out, you know that when he needs to.
But give him the rock, and and and Georgia Tech
gets done over the weekend the Georgia Tennessee game. Look,
if you're one of I'm not a big fan of this.
(28:13):
I'm not a big fan of you know, sports books,
you know, honoring bets or going back afterwards saying, you
know what we feel for you guys. Somebody got injured
et cetera, et cetera early in a game, so we'll
go ahead and we'll cancel out the bets. I would
say this though, and Lee, I don't know if you
want to be responsible for this or if you want
to be the decision maker on this. But Brady had
(28:35):
Georgia minus three and a half. If they would have
lined up for the pat like he would have covered,
it went into overtime. I feel like maybe we can
do something about this, you know, maybe we can honor
this as like a you know, that's that's the college
football overtime. We don't need to kick the pat in
(28:55):
this spot like that. That feels like maybe we wipe
away the half there and call it a push. No,
you know, I think I got to be strict on
this one, Jonas, and I think.
Speaker 3 (29:05):
Uh, yeah, I wouldn't abide by that anyway. I don't.
That's not how it works.
Speaker 1 (29:10):
Yeah, you know, it's a bit ridiculous, you.
Speaker 3 (29:12):
Know it is. But that's the game we play.
Speaker 1 (29:14):
Man, I knew Tennant when when Tennessee had the ball.
I think I texted you when Tennessee had the ball
and they were lining up to kick the field goal
in regulation, you could just tell by the way that
drive was going and the way they were setting up
for it. I was like, Oh, this is doomed. This
guy's gonna miss this kick. And then I'm thinking about
(29:36):
Clay Travis and all the Tennessee fans and all the
Tennessee ball washing.
Speaker 3 (29:41):
Hey Clay, Hey Clay. I get it.
Speaker 4 (29:43):
People think I'm at Homer for a notre dame. I
try to be pretty realistic with my analysis. You are
the worst. You are the worst. You lose every stink
in bets you. I think at that point, I don't
know if he was laying. I think he took Tennessee
money line, didn't he, because I think that was his
advice on the show.
Speaker 1 (30:01):
I just I was looking at the look in his
eyes sitting across from Josh Heipel doing that interview, like
he was like, I mean, he was infatuated, like this,
this is the guy. And for some reason, they just
can't beat Georgia. They just got think it's nine straight
games they've lost to Georgia. They just can't. They can't
beat them. It's the only the Georgia is the only
team that's beaten Tennessee in Knoxville with Hype Bowl as
(30:24):
the coach, and it was there for the taking. They
had an opportunity to win that game, and then ultimately
they missed the kick. They go to overtime and Georgia
gets it done. But yeah, it was uh, you know,
it was a fun, fun little weekend. South Carolina looked great.
You had them on upset alert as well too to Vanderbilt.
Speaker 4 (30:42):
So well, yeah, mostly because I was hoping your game
Cocks would lose. But it's you know, the toll targeting.
There's a terrible targeting called the name game, and on
Shore got kicked out for that. There was obviously the
Leonora Sellers hit knocked him out of the game. That's
where the game went, you know, wayside your Cocks. I
look at college football and if there is one thing
(31:05):
that they talked about doing the off season they should
do is they need to come up with a target
that allows for the player to stay.
Speaker 3 (31:12):
In the game.
Speaker 4 (31:13):
I mean, schureer one like his head was down. I'm
not even sure they even fell through the category of
being targeting. So I didn't warrant that. But there's other
instances where you know, they got to kick the player
out because the letner of the law, and it's not
fair because you know, you're trying to look at intent,
You're trying to look at all these different things, and
sometimes it's just like, just give the penalty, dude, give
(31:35):
the personal foul. That's all you need to do. You know,
you don't need to kick players out of games for
this stuff then have to sit out the next half
too of the next game.
Speaker 3 (31:42):
It's just it's ridiculous.
Speaker 4 (31:44):
That is the one thing right now, when the ball
is kicked, college football has to figure out how to
fix because they have not figured that out so far.
Speaker 1 (31:52):
There was even in the LSU Florida game. LSU had
a player kicked out for a targeting call and they
were like, well, you know, at least he gets to
stay on this sideline. You know, that's a new rule
that college football implemented, and so that makes it better, Like, go,
I get to hang out on the sideline and watch
my guys. I don't get to actually go in the
game or be a part of it. I just get
(32:13):
to stand on the sideline. So it just it doesn't
you know, it doesn't doesn't seem to make any sense.
But fun weekend for college football where you guys at
a big noon for this upcoming week were.
Speaker 3 (32:25):
In Salt Lake.
Speaker 4 (32:25):
We've got a top twenty five match up. Number seventeen
Texas Tech takes on number sixteen Utah, both teams three
and zero. I believe Cody Campbell, by the way, the
billionaire who's been bankrolling this, this Texas Tech Raiders team,
he's flying out for it. Utah has got an incredible
student section, fan base, the muss so excited for it.
(32:47):
Never I've never done a show out there in Utah.
Would be early start for the game. But two of
the best teams in the Big twelve. So I think
it's one of one of three matchups this weekend where
you've got, you know.
Speaker 3 (32:59):
Two right teams playing each other. So it should be
a lot of fun.
Speaker 1 (33:01):
Yeah, I think the you've got Auburn Oklahoma is it's right, yeah,
the one?
Speaker 4 (33:07):
And what's the Illinois Indiana? Oh yeah yeah, kind of
a contender pretender story between those two teams. Indiana's like, great,
they haven't played anyone, but Illinois's been a little more
tested and they you know, they're a top ten team
right now, and we'll see if they truly are after
it's all said and done.
Speaker 1 (33:26):

to lap take center stage.
Speaker 3 (35:08):
Oh how drunk did you get? Buddy?
Speaker 1 (35:10):
Did you resist? Well?
Speaker 8 (35:13):
Of course you know I had earned a drink from
the Michael Parsons sack on Thursday, so definitely had enjoyed
that one yesterday during the games, and uh yeah I
might have had it snuck a Friday week at week recap.
Speaker 1 (35:29):
On that one Friday. How did that look? How did
how did the drink look? I mean, how did what
happened Friday? Like, what are the details here? It was
a busy, busy, busy, busy day on Friday.
Speaker 3 (35:41):
Uh yeah, well so busy batly.
Speaker 8 (35:44):
So this is some personal stuff. I was in and
out of the hospital for some for some family stuff.
But uh, and then you know, kind of to take
the edge off at.
Speaker 4 (35:53):
The end of the night, Oh yeah, exactly, So.
Speaker 3 (36:00):
Let's let's just go booze.
Speaker 8 (36:01):
Yeah, you know, let's have Yeah, let's all get together
in pow wow about it and we're all safe and
sound and have a drink to cap off the week.
Speaker 1 (36:08):
So I think he earned it personally, I think you
did a great job last week. You resisted the urge
to bend the elbow. I think he's earned it. I
think he earned it.
Speaker 4 (36:20):
I'm not sure what here, but I don't know whatever,
whatever you want to do, man, I'm just that I'm
happy for you.
Speaker 3 (36:26):
I think you know.
Speaker 8 (36:27):
Yeah, well, I appreciate it, guys, you know, I always
appreciate the support.
Speaker 1 (36:30):
Yeah, I feel good. It was a good week.
Speaker 8 (36:32):
I made it, made it all the way to the
weekend last week, So yeah, doing good.
Speaker 1 (36:36):
And then uh, yeah it was kind of weird obviously.
Speaker 8 (36:38):
I didn't have packers to watch on Sunday, but I
did enjoy that Michael Parsons earned drink for the first games.
Speaker 1 (36:45):
I watched, and you just had one. Well, no, MICHAEH.
Parsons is a beer and a shot. So I had
a beer and a shot.
Speaker 8 (36:54):
And of course Evan Williams got a big play, so
I had a beer for Evan Williams as well. Maybe
two beers, two beers, one shot, all right, anything else
you want to report, that's it for me.
Speaker 1 (37:06):
So you you kept it to just two beers and
a shot on Sunday, you are full of craft. No,
I had more on Friday. Okay, So you didn't have
any more than two beers in a shot yesterday? That
is correct? Actually absolutely yep. Stuck it to that. I
couple non alcoholic beers too. That doesn't cout. Okay? All right? Well,
I mean if if you say so, you know whatever
(37:29):
whatever you say anybody else, LORAINI got anything to report
any any issues from the weekend. No, I had the
best weekend?
Speaker 3 (37:39):
Why?
Speaker 9 (37:40):
Just good times? Oh I didn't get to go to
the Crispone concert. That's kind of an ir right, planning
it for two months learn a bunch of dances.
Speaker 1 (37:47):
Didn't get to go, kept it from going.
Speaker 9 (37:50):
My friend she always gets free tickets, and literally the
day of she's like, my my plug did not come through.
Speaker 1 (37:56):
So clugless.
Speaker 9 (37:57):
Oh yeah, so I said, I just listened to Chris
Brown songs in my house and drank a bottle of wine.
Speaker 1 (38:03):
You go to your soul.
Speaker 9 (38:05):
Nice Hey saved probably two hundred and fifty dollars doing
that route.
Speaker 1 (38:09):
Yeah, there you go. That's a that's the way to go.
I don't really have anything, you know, I got ye.
Speaker 3 (38:15):
You never really do before, being honest, Yeah.
Speaker 1 (38:18):
It doesn't. It just doesn't seem like it's all that exciting.
Speaker 3 (38:21):
Yeah, well I get that.
Speaker 4 (38:23):
I ask you have come here and I've had to
deal with and listen to, and I apologize for this.
I've been dealing with just kind of like not having
a voice, and I probably need to take time off,
but I get chastised by LeVar and Jonas, so I won't.
So you have to deal with it for the rest
this week, probably before it somehow heals up.
Speaker 3 (38:42):
But anyway, I have no voice. I got through Saturday show.
Speaker 4 (38:47):
And then I had to do this like I work
with an Irish whisky called dealing, and so then I
had to go like other bars for like watch party
before before actually Notre Dame game. So I imagine how
great I saw its Saturday night. I would have nothing.
I had nothing left to even make a sound with
my voice. I honestly thought I was gonna to do
(39:08):
the show today. I was like, there's no way this
will recover.
Speaker 1 (39:11):
Yeah, but you fought through sure for appearance.
Speaker 3 (39:14):
Yeah,
