got problems in the NFL. We got injuries.

Speaker 1 (01:23):
The war of.

Speaker 3 (01:24):
Attrition has started, in particular at the quarterback position around
the National Football League. Real problems, most notably Joe Burrow.
He is going to have surgery on his toe issue,
his turf toe that he suffered a Grade three I
believe it is. It looks like he's going to miss

(01:46):
three months. Depending on where they're at in the season,
maybe this is a season ender for Joe Burrow. Here
was the head coach of the Bengals, Zach Taylor, talking
about their situation.

Speaker 4 (01:56):
That we're two and zero and then we've got a
lot of good energy right now. There's a lot of
things that we can clean up with our football team
that would be better going forward. We have not put
our best foot forward yet and so that's what's exciting
is that we find a way to be and oh
right now, and we still haven't even played our best
best football collectively.

Speaker 1 (02:13):
So did they not give him the update on Joe
Burrow when he did that?

Speaker 5 (02:16):
And yeah, he was aware. He's got it.

Speaker 3 (02:19):
He's got to keep it optimistic though, you know it's
got to give him hope.

Speaker 1 (02:23):
Okay, I mean, you haven't put your best foot forward?
Was that was he like? Was that cat? Was he
giving a little bit of uh what's that called? Uh? Yeah,
I mean like Joe Burrow hurt his foot you're talking
about we haven't put our best foot forward yet.

Speaker 3 (02:39):
Well, oh, you think he's taking a shot at him.

Speaker 5 (02:42):
No, he's not taking a shot.

Speaker 1 (02:44):
I just thought it was coincidental that he would use
that as the catchphrase of what he was saying.

Speaker 3 (02:49):
It seems like if they haven't played their best football yet,
it seems like it would be hard to play their
best football without Joe Burrow.

Speaker 1 (02:54):
There, You're not going to play your best football without
Joe Burrow. I think that's the point. Well, I think
we know that. The question is more is the team though?
Can they step up out around the quarterback position? And
that's all parties involved. I mean, is there you know
anyone else who's gonna show out too? Not just the team?
You know, for these upcoming games. It's a great opportunity

(03:17):
for whoever gets it.

Speaker 5 (03:18):
But I think it's an all snow At outfit.

Speaker 1 (03:21):
It's a very very tall task, very very high heel
to climb whoever gets it, That's what I say. Yeah,
I don't know, man, I don't know. As you got
a lot of fire power there. I mean, you gotta believe.
I mean, there is this thing called the backup quarterback.
When you have a backup, the backup is considered to

(03:44):
be the person that should be next up and should
be used in situations where a guy gets injured, like
that's why you get a backup. You don't have them
for many other reasons. So I just wonder are they
going to try to find somebody on to the marrow
get and bring them in or are they going to
trust that the backup has has the ability to be

(04:06):
able to lead them. Either way, I think that this
is totally a handicapping of their season. I mean, they
weren't good when he was injured before. I don't suspect
that they're going to be good with them being injured now.
I mean, not talk about losing the catalysts of why
you're good. That's just that's a devastating blow if you're

(04:26):
a Cincinnati Bengals.

Speaker 5 (04:27):
I still think he's they got a shot, you know.

Speaker 6 (04:30):
I still think if Jay Brown could do some of
the things we've seen him, do you know some of
the things can be he's been able to pull off
in his life.

Speaker 5 (04:37):
I think he's got a shot. I really do, Okay.

Speaker 3 (04:40):
I mean, if they're in contention and it's week seventeen,
and that's about what we're looking at here, I mean,
maybe for.

Speaker 1 (04:51):
No reason to bring him back. If he's going to
be out that long, there's no reason to bring him back.

Speaker 3 (04:56):
But you would have a couple of weeks and then
the playoffs if they make the playoffs, and and all
of a sudden, now you get Joe Burrow back for
a potential playoff round. Like there's a chance they just
have to tread water and just survive in advance in
these games until then. I don't see it that way.

(05:18):
I think that's your your franchise guy. If he has
an injury that's going to keep him out literally the
entire regular season, the entire season you got you just
got to make a tough choice here, And to me,
I think that airing on the side of of of
caution versus trying to rush him back, which it wouldn't

(05:40):
be considered a rush if it took the entire season
for him to come back. But again, if you're good
enough to make it that far, why why what what
are you doing?

Speaker 5 (05:49):
Man? Just why why would you.

Speaker 3 (05:53):
Just just researching?

Speaker 1 (05:56):
No reason for him to be in a rush back?

Speaker 3 (05:59):
No, that here's researching Jake Browning And oh that's what
JB means.

Speaker 1 (06:06):
Okay, I think he's more than qualified to be the
backup if you ask me and and listen, he knows
how to complete a pass. That's that much is clear.
So let's talk more about JB versus UH the other JB.
I guess let's switch JB's because he clearly knows how

(06:29):
to get the ball downfield.

Speaker 5 (06:30):
Yeah, okay, I'm with you and all.

Speaker 3 (06:34):
The way with you, and I just think that's really
the professional approach that should be taken here is is
what do we uh you know, what do we make
up their chances to uh to continue on?

Speaker 5 (06:45):
Uh bless.

Speaker 3 (06:49):
Kind of bless you, sir. Elsewhere, the Minnesota Vikings and
Kevin O'Connell UH did have an announcement on their quarterback
J J. McCarthy, who struggled the early portion of his
debut against the Bears on Monday Night. He struggled last
week or this past Sunday night against the Falcons, and

(07:10):
now it looks like JJ McCarthy is going to miss
some time. Here was Kevin O'Connell's head coach explaining it away.

Speaker 7 (07:15):
I would anticipate we are not planning on having him
for Sunday and don't likely see this being any kind
of short term I are thing, but I do want
to see and Tyler and the group want to see
how he responds, you know, to treatment this week.

Speaker 3 (07:32):
So Carson Wentz step right up. There's your backup in
Minnesota for the bikes to get an opportunity to work
underneath the Kevin O'Connell as JJ McCarthy's going to miss
two to four weeks.

Speaker 1 (07:45):
He wasn't setting the world on fire, but I mean
he's going to lose valuable time to build experience to
see if they can make a run of it. Yeah,
you know, they might even be better with Carson Wentz
in there. To be honest with you, you know, you never know,
let you well.

Speaker 5 (08:02):
It's interesting.

Speaker 6 (08:02):
So when prisc goes on yesterday of are you know
he has this whole yah?

Speaker 5 (08:08):
What yah? Yeah?

Speaker 6 (08:10):
These quoting they just revot back to who they are.
So my thing is that that doesn't make it fun.
Like that doesn't make.

Speaker 5 (08:19):
It fun for a great story.

Speaker 6 (08:21):
And also it's ignorant to the fact that you know,
every quarterback you could say they are what they are,
but they could be something greater than what you think
if they're in a good system and a good situation.
You know, and you can have callis head coaches I've
talked to, we always talk about this. The situation circumstance
you enter into largely dictates your career more so than

(08:45):
everything else, more so than talent, more so than.

Speaker 5 (08:48):
Coach, more so than all that.

Speaker 6 (08:51):
So if you go to a good organization, you're gonna
have a better shot of showcase yourself. Now, Carson Wentz
initially went to a good organization, he played at times
as an MVP before getting hurt, and a team that
went on to win a Super Bowl.

Speaker 5 (09:06):
You know.

Speaker 6 (09:06):
Unfortunately, they you know, went their separate ways, and he's
been kind of trying to find himself since then. This
is that opportunity. He's on a really good team, a
team that I think we'd all say is a playoff
caliber team. Maybe what with the right quarterback play that
could go to Super Bowl. You know, you look at
Mac Jones. We talked about how well, how good he looked,

(09:27):
and you know, people can try to say and didn't
defend brock Purty. All they want if mac Jones goes
in there and plays exactly how brock Purty has. The
only thing that tells us is, you know, maybe they
people were off on brock party where they were drafting him,
you know. But also it tells us a little bit
about the fact that it's a Kyle Shanahan system. They
have talent there. He'll allow that quarterback to go have

(09:48):
success and be able to you know, have success where Really,
Mac Jones has only been in one one year one
situation in New England where he was able to play
the way people thought he was capable of.

Speaker 5 (09:57):
He was a Pro Bowl that year.

Speaker 6 (10:01):
I know a lot of people are here for the backup,
you know, uh, resurrection of other guy's careers.

Speaker 5 (10:10):
But I love what Daniel Jones is doing right now.
Tuino is so far ball it out like that's a
fun storyline, you know.

Speaker 6 (10:17):
I love seeing Baker Mayfield have the success that he's
having right now.

Speaker 5 (10:20):
It's awesome. So I'm not sure why more people don't
roof for it.

Speaker 6 (10:24):
But that's really what's on the table now, Not that
Jake Brownie was drafted to be that. You know, he's
kind of been in that backup situation. But look, the
young man go in and play. He was prolific during
his time of Washington. He's a smart player, he's accurate,
like he could do this. So I'm excited to see
what all these guys have in store.

Speaker 3 (10:43):
Yeah, I just I don't know if if I'm if
I'm Minnesota, if I'm if I'm Carson Wentz, and I've
got an opportunity to make a run and get this
chance again like we were talking about yesterday, Yeah, take it,
you know, do.

Speaker 5 (10:57):
As well as you can.

Speaker 3 (10:58):
And if you're if you're Kevin O'Connell, based on what
you've seen from JJ McCarthy, why rush him out there
at less than one hundred percent, you know, maybe give
him a chance, process it, get fully healthy, and then
see what you've got with him. Chris Collinsworth was making
the point the other night that you can tell Justin Jefferson,
you know, maybe he's getting a little frustrated with where

(11:19):
they're at with things, but this should have been expected
with a young quarterback who's going to come in and
take the reins. And when people are thrown out the
idea of well, if JJ McCarthy's going to miss time,
maybe you just go to Kirk Cousins. No, like, let's
see what Carson Wentz has got. Let's see Carson Wentz
get an opportunity to sling it around a little bit.
And if you're if you're Cincinnati, there's reportedly them looking

(11:41):
at veteran quarterbacks, maybe they would try and add somebody.
I saw Malik Willis's name was out there as a
potential candidate as well too, So you are you already.

Speaker 5 (11:52):
Kirk Cousins can figure out a way to get back.

Speaker 6 (11:55):
I just Jameis Winston. He's a name that's been kind
of talked about in some trades.

Speaker 5 (12:00):
Come save me. But if you're Cousins getting paid too much,
that's his issue.

Speaker 1 (12:06):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (12:07):
But if you're one of these teams that that's looking
at these other organizations who are now dealing with this,
if you're Atlanta, you probably feel pretty good that that's
your backup. Like if something happens to Michael Pennix, you're
looking at it going all right, well we'll eat the
ten million dollars we did when we had to pick
up his roster bonus, and then we'll just if something
happens God forbidden and we feel like we're still in contention,

(12:30):
we'll throw Kirk Cousins in there and feel good about things.
The Jets have got justin Fields, who's in concussion protocol.
The one that's weird is the Jaden Daniels because he's
got a knee issue but nobody knows what it is.
He's had an MRI, but nobody's reporting on exactly what.
They're just said, well, did you see the hit?

Speaker 5 (12:50):
Yeah? I love it. I love them being able to
keep a secret. Good for them.

Speaker 1 (12:55):
Yeah, I mean it was a pretty nasty hit on him.
Well you hit him right on.

Speaker 3 (12:59):
The dan Quinn's just like, not really, you know, hey, listen,
it's a it's truly day to day. Here was the
Commanders I almost said the R word there, by the way,
was damn.

Speaker 5 (13:11):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (13:12):
Here was the Commander's head coach dan Quinn, talking about
the status of his young quarterback.

Speaker 8 (13:17):
He did have an MRI and he has already begun
his return to play process with us.

Speaker 5 (13:23):
He is truly day to day.

Speaker 8 (13:24):
What does that mean for Sunday?

Speaker 5 (13:26):
I can't tell you. That now.

Speaker 8 (13:27):
I'll have more to share on that when we get
to Wednesday and practice and what that would look like.

Speaker 3 (13:33):
Enough, So what were the results of the imaging eh
day to day? Like nobody knows. Just sorry, that's that's
that's where we're at with everything. So you've now seen
multiple starting quarterbacks two weeks into the year go down,
some long term, some potentially short term, but war of
attrition has started boys long Sea.

Speaker 1 (13:54):
I feel like the way he reacted when he went
down the way his the way his leg kind of
like bent. I want to say, it's like, it's probably
a sprain and it's probably I'm assuming it's going to
be on the outside of his leg that's where he grabbed.
He grabbed like his like where his it band is.

(14:16):
When it happened, I would assume it's a it's a
sprain and it's probably an acl sprain. That's what I
would assume just off of what I saw. And listen,
I'm not a doctor, so take that with a grain
of saults. That's not a pick, it's just that's what
I think. That's what I think the injury is is

(14:38):
he's got a strain and and there when you have
those types of like when your need does that, like
when it bends like that. Sometimes you can bruise it too,
you know, sometimes it could lead to a bruise, So
he could have a bruise.

Speaker 5 (14:52):
And a strain, a sprain.

Speaker 1 (14:55):
No, no, no, no, it's not a pick.

Speaker 9 (14:57):
I'm just I'm just saying, you guys want it, don't
you know?

Speaker 2 (15:00):
Don't know stix picks.

Speaker 3 (15:04):
Okay, you know somebody actually would run with this because,
by the way, connection to the organization.

Speaker 1 (15:11):
I don't have any attention to the organization, LeVar.

Speaker 5 (15:13):
Did you know Lorena does voice work.

Speaker 1 (15:19):
Explaining a little bit more detail.

Speaker 5 (15:21):
I mean, okay, so Lorena, play it.

Speaker 2 (15:25):
This one.

Speaker 10 (15:28):
When's When's?

Speaker 5 (15:32):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (15:35):
You know that now takes on an entire different level
of different level realizing that that is you doing it.

Speaker 10 (15:46):
I thought you knew.

Speaker 1 (15:51):
Today's year old, today years old? With knowing that that
do it one more time, Lorena, When's When's.

Speaker 9 (16:05):
Can you hear it?

Speaker 1 (16:06):
Now? I don't know how to answer that, so I
will not.

Speaker 5 (16:15):
You can hear your voice at the end.

Speaker 10 (16:18):
I think doesn't sound like me. All the rest of them.
I'm like, okay, yeah, I know I didn't record.

Speaker 5 (16:22):
Well, how are we I think I think only you
would know how you sound.

Speaker 1 (16:26):
Yikeskes, I mean maybe maybe there's other.

Speaker 5 (16:30):
People what you say?

Speaker 10 (16:35):
He said that last one doesn't sound like you at all.

Speaker 5 (16:39):
I thought saying, maybe maybe it just doesn't with Lee, you.

Speaker 10 (16:44):
Know when's when's see that one sounds like someone else.

Speaker 6 (16:51):
That, Yeah, maybe it's just maybe the other guys it does.

Speaker 9 (16:58):
I did record it, so I know which one it is.

Speaker 10 (17:00):
But yeah, we went in the back studio and recorded it.

Speaker 1 (17:02):
Oh my gosh, it gets it even deeper this rabbit hole.
So how did you produce those those sound effect?

Speaker 5 (17:10):
Sounds pretty natural?

Speaker 1 (17:15):
No, I know exactly what her sounds are, alrighty, then
just learn something new every day. I'm today's years old.
Knowing that they recorded it together in the studio.

Speaker 10 (17:29):
Well, you know, Veto has to put in the request.

Speaker 5 (17:32):
How many takes did it did before? You kid? How
many minutes?

Speaker 2 (17:36):
How many do you think that took?

Speaker 5 (17:38):
Like one minute? Last than one minute?

Speaker 3 (17:43):
Could you like, is it like? Can you replicate that.

Speaker 1 (17:47):
If you would have had a part in there at
some point that we would have known exactly what it was.

Speaker 10 (17:51):
But the request was just to make some some you know,
noises and say quinns wins.

Speaker 1 (17:59):
Yeah, and you like, did it really well?

Speaker 5 (18:03):
Yeah? I did? Wait what to do? What did make
that noise you just made?

Speaker 3 (18:06):
Again?

Speaker 11 (18:07):
Oh?

Speaker 5 (18:08):
Yeah? That is see right there, it really is confirmation.

Speaker 10 (18:11):
I could keep going.

Speaker 5 (18:12):
But you know, I do appreciate I do appreciate Lee.
Oh that's not her? Who oh my god, they brought
it another guy for that part.

Speaker 10 (18:26):
Oh what kind of file?

Speaker 5 (18:30):
Lee needed a stunt double?

Speaker 1 (18:33):
Oh no, oh no, oh no, not Michael Jackson. Oh
there it is, there, it is.

Speaker 5 (18:43):
Well, there goes the show. Take us to break two

over the weekend, was asked about his team's performance in

(21:13):
the postgame scrum with the media, and it sounded something
like this.

Speaker 4 (21:19):
Brian in the back, I know you love these immediate
postgame sessions, but what are you seeing with your offins?

Speaker 5 (21:25):
Stop?

Speaker 11 (21:25):
Really, we won the game twenty to ten. Try another question.
What do you want me to tell you? I just
laid it out for you. We played the game to
win the game.

Speaker 5 (21:34):
All right, how about third down?

Speaker 2 (21:36):
Then?

Speaker 5 (21:36):
What is going on with third down?

Speaker 2 (21:38):
It's one game.

Speaker 11 (21:40):
Last game, we were great on third down. Micro, you're
looking at this from the wrong perspective.

Speaker 2 (21:46):
LSU won the football game. What do you want?

Speaker 11 (21:50):
You want us to win seventy to nothing against Florida
to keep you happy?

Speaker 2 (21:53):
No, I think people want to know why you can't
run the ball.

Speaker 11 (21:55):
Quite well, we can run the ball. Did you see
the last play of the game. That's all you need.
You just need one. There's a ridiculous questions and I'm
getting tired of it. That football team just worked their
tail off to get an SEC win, and you want
to know what's wrong. You know what, You're spoiled. This

(22:15):
team is seventeen and one at night. Give them some respect.
How about that? Give them some respect instead of micro
analyzing every little thing.

Speaker 5 (22:25):
This is ridiculous for a group of.

Speaker 11 (22:28):
Seasoned reporters, that kind of question is so out of line.

Speaker 5 (22:34):
So now that one was edited together though correctly.

Speaker 3 (22:39):
Uh yeah, Lee, how much is Lee in the in
the building?

Speaker 5 (22:43):
Or do you take off?

Speaker 10 (22:44):
I think you went to the editing bank oh.

Speaker 3 (22:46):
Okay, he's in an editing way.

Speaker 5 (22:47):
Okay, yeah, hey, Lee, Yeah, so there's a little little
hurt his feelings were hurt by uh I don't know.

Speaker 1 (22:56):
Yeah, they can't be hurt by that. Certainly be hurt
by something.

Speaker 3 (23:01):
Else, though, Lee, how much editing was done in the
Brian Kelly clip? Was it spliced together?

Speaker 15 (23:08):
I think they only took out a few spaces, like
it was only a minute twenty. It was a minute
twenty and it came out to a minute fifteen minute
twenty five.

Speaker 5 (23:15):
I think was the raw. Okay, I would just say this.

Speaker 6 (23:20):
I mean, he's since apologized for how he acted, and
I don't understand why he was acting that way.

Speaker 5 (23:29):
I know he felt like in some ways that was probably.

Speaker 6 (23:32):
A big win for them, and they're undefeated and they're
one of the top teams in college football right now,
even though you know, offensively they haven't really been clicking
at all. Cylinders that win verse Clemson doesn't look quite
as good anymore. But the general point is, like, these
guys are doing a job. You get paid a lot
of money as a head coach, not just to like

(23:52):
lead your team to the football thing. You also are
there to take questions, answer hard questions and represent a
team at university. Why he feels like he needs to
act like that, I mean, it's their job. You get
paid handsomely to deal with it. I have no idea
why he has to act that way. It's a legitimate concern.

(24:15):
They can't run the football consistently and they're viewed as
one of the top teams that maybe the best team
of the SEC. Meanwhile, they has some issues it's relevant
to talk about after a game.

Speaker 5 (24:28):
You want to hear its apology.

Speaker 3 (24:30):
It felt like he was heading down the direction of
just a straight up apology, and then you know, he
kind of veered off.

Speaker 5 (24:36):
In my mind here.

Speaker 11 (24:37):
Before I get to the game in Southeast Louisiana, I
want to go back to the press conference after the game.
I've texted with Mike and offered my apology to him
for the way I handled the questioning. I think it's
important to understand that, you know, my standards relative to

(24:58):
how we work with the me on a day to
day basis need to be higher, and I take responsibility
for that and I'll be better in the future. And
understanding also the way I'm thinking after a game, and
we've mentioned this a couple of times, the emotions of
the game right after it. I haven't watched any film.
It's difficult to make those assessments of specifics. And I'm

(25:22):
going to defend my team. I'm going to defend my
players first and foremost. But having said that, I publicly
apologize to Mike and he's an outstanding report. He works hard,
and we'll do better moving forward.

Speaker 1 (25:36):
Yeah, it's nice to come back and apologize, but you
said what you said and you met what you said,
so just stand on it. That's great to give an apology,
and I get it. The relationships hold on.

Speaker 5 (25:48):
This is a teaching moment far so is this a
moment of him not being ten toes down and not
standing on it?

Speaker 1 (25:55):
I would say so, okay, because he's apologizing, he's not
apologizing for what he said. He's apologizing for how he
handled it. He did spin back and say I'm always
defend my players. Yeah, so he's letting you know I
meant what I said, but I'm apologizing for the way
maybe I came off towards you or whatever it may be.

Speaker 5 (26:17):
But my whole thing is.

Speaker 1 (26:19):
If a player had did that, that coach is going
to As you mentioned, they're going to say, they're going
to use that as a teaching teaching moment, and that
player will probably most likely be judged differently than what
a coach would be in allowing himself to say something.
If he comes back and apologizes, I would assume out

(26:42):
of emotion and and so to me, my whole thing
is they give us time in between the end of
the game and the interview. If you're a guy that
when you're in your emotions and you're in your feelings,
as a coach, you're going to say what you feel
in the moment, no matter what, and you're going to
give that out. But you feel like you're going to

(27:03):
have to apologize later on, then don't speak. Give yourself
the time, give yourself the grace period if they if
they interview you, you know, just just less is more
until you get an opportunity to really collect your thoughts
and responding a responsible manner. But but if that's not
your brand, then just stand on what you stand on,

(27:26):
say what you say, and mean what you say when
you say it. Like one thing I don't like, it's
like if you if you come back and apologize once, Okay,
you come back, you apologize once. But you know, just
like we started judging, you know, my boy over at
the other at the other channel. If you start coming
back and you're apologizing all the time, you become tone

(27:49):
deaf to that type of stuff and it becomes very disingenuous.

Speaker 5 (27:53):
It's not really heartfelt.

Speaker 6 (27:54):
So he's not standing ten toes down. No, he's not
standing on business.

Speaker 3 (27:58):
Who's the other guy who's stop Jonahs.

Speaker 1 (28:02):
I'm just saying, like, just say what you're gonna say,
and stand on what you're going to say, like don't
don't don't say what you're gonna say with your chest
and then oh, I'm gonna come back and apologize after
i said it with my chest, Like it.

Speaker 5 (28:15):
Doesn't work that way. Brian Kelly must be feeling the
heat or feeling.

Speaker 3 (28:20):
The pressure a little bit in Baton Rouge, because this
is now a couple of times this.

Speaker 5 (28:24):
Year he had the Davos Swinty put his game.

Speaker 3 (28:27):
He had this both games he won, and I just
I wonder how loud the conversation is about, all right, well,
is he gonna get it done this year? I mean,
it was all about the starts to the season. They
had struggled with that they got a big win.

Speaker 5 (28:43):
They went on the road to do it.

Speaker 3 (28:45):
Now you look back at it and maybe it's not
as impressive of a win because Clemson doesn't appear to
be the team people thought they were going into the season.
But I just I wonder if this is all just him.
The outburst is he's feeling the pressure, he's feeling the
heat of being in the SEC and you got a
fan base that's wondering, all right, are we Are we
going to be a team competing for a national title

(29:06):
at the end of this whole thing. That's that's that's
what it feels like to me. Otherwise, I don't really
get the daboswiney pushback. I don't get the back and
forth and the outburst with the reporter. I just it.
It feels like like he's feeling things a little bit
there in Baton Rouge. So best of luck to him.

(29:28):
Good luck with that, Brian Kelly, have have fun. But
there we go. That's the that's the update on the
red ass of college football. Brian Kelly, who's taken the man.
I think he's taken that from Nick Saban. I can't
think of is there? I get what you're saying, Is
there any other in contention for biggest red ass in

(29:48):
college foot Yeah, I.

Speaker 6 (29:50):
Don't know many coaches who get that fired up after
a win as far as like chewing out reporters.

Speaker 5 (29:56):
It's it seems the opposite.

Speaker 3 (30:00):
But I mean, listen, you know, maybe uh, you know,
maybe he learns.

Speaker 5 (30:05):
Some I mean Varno's guys. Maybe Varno's a guy I
don't know. Is James Franklin got a red ass? No
he's not like that. No, he's not.

Speaker 7 (30:13):
No.

Speaker 6 (30:14):
Do you know any other coach you can think of
that goes off after a wind?

Speaker 5 (30:19):
But it's kind of weird?

Speaker 1 (30:21):
Yeah, I don't. I just I think Kelly's one of
those guys.

Speaker 5 (30:25):
Though.

Speaker 1 (30:25):
He's just a touch sensitive dude. He really is a
like from all things I've heard of him, like sound
bites and different things like that. Not anything personal from
anybody who have said it to me, but he just
seems like he's a sensitive dude. Like he cares about winning,
he cares about his image, and he gets a little

(30:45):
protective over it.

Speaker 5 (30:46):
That's what it seems like.

Speaker 1 (30:48):
He just has like a sensitivity that's there in his
voice when he's interviewing, like a granddad.

Speaker 3 (30:54):
Or you know, I don't know what's gonna happen when
they do lose. How's that gonna go. I mean, if
he's just pissy after their winning games, like they've got
Ole Miss in a couple of weeks, what if they
lose to All.

Speaker 1 (31:06):
Miss, which is interesting because he coached that Notre Dame.

Speaker 5 (31:10):
I mean, he's.

Speaker 1 (31:12):
You're going to be under fire. I want him versus
Lane Kiffin in the media, That's.

Speaker 5 (31:16):
What I want.

Speaker 1 (31:17):
Wow, Lane is he stands on business. Lane don't. Lane
gives zero fs about what people think period, including himself.
He don't care what he think about himself. I don't know, man,

(31:38):
I don't know if any coaches that are are like
red Ass is just on site, I don't know, not
really like maybe Mike Leach, but he's more joking, right,
that's more joking. He was like more of a joker.
What about the what about the other air Raiders? Who's

(32:00):
the Gundhy is Gandhi? Is he a red Ass?

Speaker 5 (32:05):
Not as much anymore?

Speaker 1 (32:07):
Kirby Smart's not nom Ryan Day is just kind of
like he just has that.

Speaker 5 (32:13):
Well, that's the thing. I don't know anyone who hands
the media like that. Yeah, I don't know. It's pretty deep. Yeah,
I don't know. I don't know either way. Yeah, either way.

Speaker 3 (32:28):
All right, Well, hey, good luck Brian, and uh, hopefully
you can get in a better mood here.

Speaker 5 (32:34):
Yeah, especially consider you're gonna be contending for a national championship.
My goodness. Uh.

Speaker 6 (32:38):
Let me talk about something important though, depending the Prostate
Cancer Foundation right here to remind you that health is
a long game and screening for prostate cancer is easier

treatment options for and better outcomes.

Who you've got a number tonight?

Speaker 2 (34:29):
You think it up.

Speaker 13 (34:30):
It's two pros and a cup of joes. Fantasy coups, that.

Speaker 3 (34:38):
Is a those are that's pretty close on a couple
of those. You're really close. All right, So Lee, what
do you what's your bitch?

Speaker 5 (34:48):
What? What's your What do you mean?

Speaker 3 (34:50):
I was lost on that intro, but uh, it's it's
fantasy f ups.

Speaker 5 (34:56):
Oh we're doing this now, Okay, Lee, what's what's your bitch?

Speaker 15 (35:01):
Well, as you guys know, I'm stretched thin, but I
do have a lot going on. You know, I keep
the same players basically amongst my six teams, three of
those teams have Lamar Jackson, and of course those are
three and zero.

Speaker 1 (35:12):
How do we know you're stretched thin? I mean, well,
what does that mean?

Speaker 15 (35:16):
Well, if you planed fantasy and you have six teams,
then that's a lot. You're basically playing with everybody and
playing versus everybody at the same time. It's kind of
a it's hard to root for players necessarily kind of
just set it and forget it. But I do have
Lamar Jackson in three out of my six and Joe
Burrow in three out of my six.

Speaker 9 (35:33):
So this week I went three and three.

Speaker 15 (35:35):
Every one that had Joe Burrow of course lost, and
one of those leagues is a guillotine league. Now, if
you don't know guillotine. You don't go head to head.
It's just the last The person in last place is
eliminated for the rest of the season. You don't get
to play anymore. You're done and your team gets auctioned off. Now,
I was bitching to you last night, Jonas, because of
course this has Joe Burrow. But it was coming down

(35:57):
to Omar and Hampton versus Jacoby my last night, last
game of Monday Night football. It was head to head
between me and Steve Covino, and I had the lead
going into the last six minutes. All I needed was
them not to throw a touchdown to Jacoby Myers.

Speaker 5 (36:11):
Of course, be off. Did he beat you?

Speaker 9 (36:14):
So what had it happened?

Speaker 2 (36:15):
Was?

Speaker 15 (36:16):
Actually, it's even more complicated than just beat me. So
I was bitching to Jonas because yes, they threw a
pick to in the end zone, and then Omar and
Hampton fumbled it the next play and I went down
two points and I lost by point two five.

Speaker 9 (36:30):
Very upset.

Speaker 1 (36:30):
So you lost to Steve Covino.

Speaker 9 (36:32):
You know what just happened? Though I just rechecked it
this morning.

Speaker 15 (36:35):
They attributed the fumble from Omaro and Hampton to Justin
Herbert because it was on the handoff, and so I
have now refreshed it, and how I have beaten Steve
Covito by a point and I am still alive in
the Guillotine League.

Speaker 5 (36:49):
By the way, do you don't know? Congra, thank you,
thank you. I needed that. All the listeners are really
excited for you.

Speaker 3 (36:58):
Do you know how many people probably got screwed on
that fumble the ruling of that, because then you also
have to go back and you have to check how
they scored yardage because some some statistical heirs are made
during the course of Fantasy Calculator.

Speaker 9 (37:13):
There was a point one difference.

Speaker 5 (37:14):
Yep.

Speaker 3 (37:15):
So your Guillotine League, you're still alive. So you beat
Steve Cavino.

Speaker 9 (37:19):
Yeah, but now I have to find a replacement for
Joe Burrow.

Speaker 3 (37:22):
Somehow, I mean, scour the waiver wire.

Speaker 5 (37:26):
What's the problem.

Speaker 15 (37:27):
It's a twenty person league and there's not many quarterbacks left.
The fact that Steve Covino was guillotine means I will
have to put all my money into the into the
into the pot for his Josh Allen.

Speaker 3 (37:39):
How much money have you invested into six different leagues?

Speaker 15 (37:42):
The minimum is forty, the highest is one hundred. So
somewhere around five hundred bucks.

Speaker 3 (37:47):
And are you still having to be the commissioner of
one of the leagues? Oh yeah, and you've already gotten
all their money. Some of them haven't paid up yet
because they know you're going to spend it.

Speaker 9 (37:58):
I need that money. I need that money.

Speaker 3 (38:01):
You're not supposed to pay your bills based.

Speaker 15 (38:03):
On I can't pay my bills with them.

Speaker 3 (38:07):
Well that's unfortunate, all right. So you're still live in
all your leagues?

Speaker 5 (38:10):
Yes, here you go.

Speaker 3 (38:11):
Yes, still a live I mean, Brady, you still undefeated
in your fantasy league or no.

Speaker 6 (38:15):
Buddy, I have not checked it. I told you I
could care less. I know you're trying to make this
a segment and make.

Speaker 5 (38:20):
This a thing. Fantasy's so cool, we gotta do it. Yeah,
it's awful. Damn it has. I'm sorry.

Speaker 6 (38:28):
It's ruined the game in ways where you now get
people who could care less about the outcome of a game.
They're more concerned about the outcome of their fantasy team.

Speaker 3 (38:37):
Well, you got other people like me who care about
the outcome of the game because we bet money on it.
And then there's also the fantasy impact as well too.
So it's just another form of gambling.

Speaker 6 (38:47):
So I can't care about both, buddy, because eventually they'll
come in direct conflict with one another.

Speaker 3 (38:52):
I got to stop starting Mark Andrews.

Speaker 5 (38:54):
It's over.

Speaker 15 (38:55):
I made the smart choice of not of City Demon
for Tucker Kraft because you have two on the ear.

Speaker 5 (39:00):
Yeah, okay, nice won a game. That's what bounce back
from this.

Speaker 9 (39:05):
Got to hope it's a touchdown.

Speaker 3 (39:06):
Yeah, way a way to bounce back from that, you know,
troubling two point conversion drop in the playoffs. I figured
I had high hopes for him, and apparently that's not
the case. So uh yeah, Mark Andrews not not ideal,
not an ideal spot to be in.

Speaker 5 (39:20):
All right, So there it is.

Speaker 3 (39:21):
Congrats ly still alive in your guillotine league. Well you
but that means that Covino's out right, That is indeed true, right, Yeah,
so Covino's out, So he's probably gonna be pissy about that.

Speaker 5 (39:34):
Lead happy about that. Yeah, No, I was just curious.

Speaker 1 (39:38):
I found it to be interesting that he was in
the league with with Coveno good point, competing against him
good point.

Speaker 10 (39:45):
Yeah, yeah, that's all you know, I mean, he knocked
him out.

Speaker 1 (39:49):
He's not really a loyal dude. If you listen to
some of the things that he does.

Speaker 3 (39:53):
He went on the mallor show Me trip. That's not
really the most loyal dude. So I just was just curious, right,
it takes some you know, it's on that Loraino.

Speaker 9 (40:00):
Ro team members here. There's a company company man here.

Speaker 10 (40:04):
He's my plus mine.

Speaker 9 (40:05):
By the way, I'm trying to.

Speaker 5 (40:06):
Remember that he's not gonna be loyal to though Lorena.

Speaker 1 (40:08):
Yeah, but you got to understand Lorena works Ben Mihler two,
so she's not loyal either. But I don't give her
having to be loyal because she works on a different show.
Lee doesn't get that out. But Lee nonetheless seems to
be saying being a company man is much better than

(40:28):
being with us.
