Speaker 2 (00:45):
No just right, no, no, no, no, no. Two weeks is
not the minimum.
Speaker 5 (00:50):
Can I change it after two weeks? It is gonna
get old quick.
Speaker 2 (00:53):
Then do it after a week.
Speaker 5 (00:55):
Okay, that works.

Begin just search two pros FSR and subscribe. Kind of
a wild year for arch Manning, who came into the
season as the Heisman favorite. They open up at Columbus,
They lose a game there. It doesn't go well. He
hasn't played all that hot, but they do win the
(01:39):
Red River rivalry.
Speaker 5 (01:42):
I have to say that quick can.
Speaker 2 (01:44):
Well done, well done.
Speaker 5 (01:46):
Let me try it, Red River Reverie. I tell you
I can't do it like Scooby Doo.
Speaker 4 (01:55):
I can't do it. It's a real pain in the nasary.
But arch Manning, the Texas quarterback with the very familiar
last name, spoke yesterday about quote blocking out the noise.
Speaker 6 (02:11):
I feel like I try to do my best of
blocking out the noise, and then you get a hundred
text messages keep blocking out the noise like there must
there must be a lot of noise.
Speaker 7 (02:20):
So yeah, I try my best.
Speaker 8 (02:26):
You know there's someone who're calling me one of the
biggest flops in college football?
Speaker 7 (02:29):
And then how did you deal with that?
Speaker 5 (02:31):
Yeah, I didn't know that.
Speaker 2 (02:32):
I guess I do now.
Speaker 7 (02:35):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (02:38):
No, I mean, look, I wasn't playing well and I am.
I'm going to continue to get better. But you know,
everyone has their own opinion, and it's good about America,
so you get to freedom speech. So it doesn't bother me.
Speaker 8 (02:51):
So it sounds sounds like a man just like you know,
what's you know what's tough about this is, you know,
he kind of carries the flag for the for a
lot of quarterbacks who are draft eligible and who are
talked about this. And I'll be honest, his throwing motion
has not looked the same to me this year than
it did last year. So I don't know if mechanically
(03:14):
he's doing something different or he did something different in
the offseason. I don't know if it's due to an
injury he's playing through. I'm not sure what it is.
But his arm slot is a lot lower than what
it was last year for the couple of starts he
made and during the times I saw him out there,
So I'm not sure what to.
Speaker 2 (03:33):
Make of any of that.
Speaker 8 (03:35):
Only he knows Steve Sarkesian knows, but just from watching film,
it doesn't look the same as it did last year.
And I'm not sure why. But to his point, he
didn't play well early in the season. He's playing better.
The offense as a whole is playing better, but he's
the one that carries the flag for the rest. Like
(03:56):
he's received the most kind of blame or criticism than anyone.
Speaker 2 (04:02):
And what's shocking is if you went and looked.
Speaker 8 (04:04):
At and Jonah's tried to look this up, if you can,
like the pre college football, like you know, quarterbacks who
are draft eligible, I mean, none of them have played well.
I mean not to kick a guy ways down because
Drew Aller got hurt, but Drew Aller did not have
anywhere close to the year people were anticipating.
Speaker 2 (04:22):
Penn State fans were hoping. If we're just being honest,
not even close.
Speaker 8 (04:27):
Club Nick has not played well for Clems, at least
not up to expectations at the beginning of the year.
Leonora Sellers he was a hot name. Yeah, he has
not played well at all. I mean, honestly, like a
lot of the guys who are draft eligible in NFL
teams who were you know, lining up to try to
put themselves in position maybe to take one. They're going
(04:48):
to have a hard time evaluating this class because it
has not been a good year so far. Meyer Garretts
Smeyer hasn't played as well. I mean, granted they don't
have a run game at all. Was you're the worst
in the SEC, but he's been inconsistent.
Speaker 5 (05:03):
Leonora Sellers time.
Speaker 2 (05:05):
Yeah, I mentioned that. I just mentioned. It's all right,
look it up. It's good.
Speaker 7 (05:10):
I mean, you know, you kind of.
Speaker 2 (05:12):
Get the general point.
Speaker 8 (05:13):
Like Dante More to me at Fernando Mendoza, of the
two guys so far this year have played the best.
If you're just looking at the tape, those would be
your top two quarterbacks.
Speaker 2 (05:25):
Carson Beck as well. He'd bet there'd be one, two, three.
Maybe they be those three guys.
Speaker 8 (05:29):
Maybe some teams see them differently, but I would if
someone challenged me and said, oh no, no, it's those
three guys like those those three have played the best.
Who are draft eligible? Now, I keep throwing my guy CJ.
Speaker 2 (05:42):
Car and there. He's not draft eligible yet, but he's
played really well so far this year. For a retro refreshman,
I'd put his taper up first anyone.
Speaker 4 (05:49):
But so is it just coincidental that all these quarterbacks
who were top prospects going into the season have struggled
or is this maybe people have to reconsider not only
preseason rankings from a team to team standpoint, but where
you stack these players going into the year.
Speaker 2 (06:09):
Dude, here's the thing.
Speaker 8 (06:11):
It's tough in the media business because you got to
say like these outlandish things for things to go viral
or for people to pay attention. And so there's people
who really want to go out there on a limb
and make these grand proclamations, and it's tough because that's
the world we live in.
Speaker 2 (06:30):
Like, it's tough to grab people's attention.
Speaker 8 (06:32):
If if you just said, yeah, I think he's going
to be pretty good this year, but I want to
get four you on five.
Speaker 2 (06:37):
Six games in the season and it ain't going viral. No.
Speaker 8 (06:40):
By the way, who's listening, who's driving right now listening
to this show? Goes all right? Man, really really big
on him? Right, Like, I mean, think about if you
have compared that to dating. Yeah, I don't know's she
checks all the boxes, but I want to go on
to like five or six seven dates before I really
get an idea like most of us to be like, well,
that's kind of reasonable, but they'd be like, oh, she
(07:03):
must not be that hot, she must not be that cool, right.
Speaker 2 (07:07):
I mean, that's that's literally how it is.
Speaker 8 (07:08):
Like people make it seem as if like, if these
guys don't hit the ground running and they don't play
the way up to our expectations and throw for five
hundred yards and six like they're.
Speaker 2 (07:19):
They're noting good.
Speaker 8 (07:21):
I mean that that's that's the tough part about being
a quarterback, I think in today's world, especially for the
guys who enter the NFL's rookies. Like we talked about
cam Mood and then LaVar alluded to it like another
number one overall draft pick whose head coach gets fired
and then it throws his development, it throws where it
goes from there, uh like to the wind, like you
(07:43):
have no idea if he's gonna look out and hopefully
they find a coach who can help him, or if
he's not. But like that, it's become not the same
thing in college, And I'm not sure if it's because
these kids are getting paid and the expectation now is, hey,
they're professional football players, you know, they're making seven figures.
Speaker 2 (07:59):
They should be criticized, they should be subject to that.
Speaker 8 (08:04):
I don't know if it's that part of it or what,
but I do feel like we forget this is a
developmental sport, especially this level. Like these kids are still
evolving and that's okay. They're gonna make mistakes, and we
tend to not be very welcoming to that.
Speaker 4 (08:21):
I guess why do preseason All Americans exist?
Speaker 7 (08:26):
Well, they should exists. Preseason All America is your body
of work. I mean, you're the same person, so you
should be in theory as a preseason All American. You're
just basically saying, we're highlighting who we believe to be
the most elite player. Yeah, but you could have, Well,
you were good last year, yeah, correct, and you're perceivably
yeah right, so perceivably you should be good this year.
(08:50):
I mean it's just a foreshadow.
Speaker 2 (08:51):
Again. It's just like Jonas before, this season was a
preseason the hype. I mean some would say your bets
have not this week was nice.
Speaker 4 (09:03):
I've been called and Brady can attest to this. Somebody
stopped me and said, you're the Jeremiah Love of Fox
Sports Radio, and I said.
Speaker 7 (09:10):
Thanks, man.
Speaker 2 (09:11):
No one has ever said that.
Speaker 5 (09:12):
They never said that.
Speaker 2 (09:14):
Never.
Speaker 8 (09:15):
There's never been a comparison to you and Jeremiah Love
in your entire life, in any capacity, in any environment,
never ever, nor will there be.
Speaker 7 (09:29):
I'll ask them, Oh my gosh, listen. I think I
think we have created at you know, in football culture,
you almost have to be perfect to be the guy
that wins the Heisman. And I think we measure and
we weigh more specifically quarterbacks, but we also do it.
(09:52):
We're guilty of doing it to the other position groups
as well. We'll do it to running back, We'll do
it to receivers, We'll do it to them. As it
applies to are you Are you in position to win
the Heisman? So I don't think that when we're judging
these players and their shortcomings or you know, what the
(10:14):
standard is supposed to be. I think guys are trying
to live up to and the public, the general public
is looking at guys trying to live up to what
that standard has been created, you know, whether whether for
fair weather, for for not fair weather, for for you know,
maybe being legit and accurate or being inaccurate. It's it's
(10:38):
all based off of are you living up to what
the standard of winning the Heisman is. It's like you're
always trying. If you've been deemed a Heisman candidate, it's
like you're living with the blessing of being recognized that way,
but you're also living with the curse of every single
(10:58):
thing you do is going to be scrutinized and it's
going to be broken down, it's going to be analyzed,
and people are going to talk about it. And if
it's short up like this is what's crazy. If it's
short of spectacular, then it's not good enough. And that's
like kind of what it turns out to be.
Speaker 4 (11:19):
But why why set the expectations at that when an
entire season needs to play out before you see what's
real and what's not. Like cam Ward, nobody at cam
Ward is as a Heisman candidate last year, Like it's.
Speaker 2 (11:34):
A selling I don't know if that's true.
Speaker 7 (11:35):
Actually not on my list.
Speaker 8 (11:38):
Well yeah, but there was some people who watched him
at Washington State and had him as like a dark horse.
Speaker 7 (11:42):
I just thought it's a it's a selling it's a
selling point, just like a preseason ranking is a selling point.
It's a way for you to sell the product even more,
develop the product.
Speaker 2 (11:53):
Why do you need to do? Mark?
Speaker 7 (11:55):
What do you mean?
Speaker 5 (11:55):
Why do you need to It's great? Why do you
what what? It sells itself when the game started.
Speaker 8 (12:01):
Here's the thing is, if you're, for example, if you're
not in Oklahoma, non Texas or I should say not
a Texas Longhorn fan.
Speaker 2 (12:08):
Do you care about red River?
Speaker 7 (12:11):
No?
Speaker 2 (12:12):
I mean honestly, like, do you care? No? No, But
if you throw some rankings.
Speaker 7 (12:16):
Fan, if you're a big fan, you might yeah.
Speaker 8 (12:18):
But if you throw some rankings next to him, you
market the fact that, hey, you know one of the Mannings,
you got the next Manning coming through.
Speaker 2 (12:27):
He's getting a part of.
Speaker 7 (12:28):
This, which makes people better if you say Manning up
for the Heisman, cause it's like, I know he's a Manning.
That makes it interesting. If you're saying he's a Manning
that's up for the Heisman, then now you've given me
the message that he's going to be as spectacular, as
as impressive as his uncle. His uncle, he didn't have
(12:48):
a chance to live up to the hype this year.
You always have a chance, that's the cool thing about it.
But a lot of times you don't live up to it.
I mean, that's just that's the reality of it.
Speaker 8 (12:58):
In defense of Art, I do feel like it was
astronomical and honestly, like we had Ohio State Texas, you know,
we played a small role in that. And then look,
I'll be honest, I was excited to see him play,
and it just I'm telling you, man, something doesn't look
right with his motion the way he's you know, throwing
(13:21):
the football this year compared to what it looked like
last year. And I'd have to go back and look,
but it just it does not look the same. The
armslot looks lower, there's not as much. Honestly, when I
watched his ball, it doesn't rotate the way it did
last year. Like it's like there's not as many revolutions
on the ball. And so I'm not sure if that's
a byproduct of something he's changed his grip is, you know,
(13:44):
how he's throwing it.
Speaker 2 (13:45):
It just it doesn't look the same.
Speaker 8 (13:49):
My best guess would be there's a shoulder issue that
would need to be cleaned up in the offseason, and
he's playing through it for a number of reasons. Could
be because you know, he wants to tough it out.
He wants to be the leader he wants to play
through this. It could be that they don't feel great
about the depth they have there behind him. I'm sure
(14:11):
there's a lot of guys who when they went there
that are like, well, I'm not playing anytime soon with
arches here.
Speaker 2 (14:15):
So there could be some of that, But that's.
Speaker 8 (14:19):
That's the only thing I can think of, because you know,
typically if you look at the biomechanics of a throwing
motion right, like everything from your feet up if you're
injured is going to impact it to some degree. But
like the snap at the end of it, and then
watching the ball spin, you know that shouldn't be impacted.
It's not impacted by anything. For the lower body, it's
(14:41):
impacted by something from the torso up and it's just
watching it, it's just it's weird.
Speaker 2 (14:46):
Again, this is not And I've even went back.
Speaker 8 (14:49):
And watched his starts last year just to compare, because
I'm like, am I seeing something or am I like
making something up?
Speaker 2 (14:55):
And there's just something off. It doesn't look the same.
Speaker 7 (14:57):
I think, what even all that being said, if he
comes in with the type of hype that was behind
him and he plays well through in spite of it,
through it all. That's what it's like for every story
where you don't live up to the expectation, or you
have a drop off, or it doesn't play out the
(15:18):
way that maybe people wanted it to play out. There
are times it does. There are times where it does
play out like you think about like a joke.
Speaker 2 (15:26):
Govern never seen it, dude. It is hyped up as
but Joe Burrow.
Speaker 8 (15:30):
I think guys are Joe Burrow wasn't hyped up like
that Joe Burrow's first year at LSU.
Speaker 2 (15:34):
But it was his first seven eight games. He didn't
play that great.
Speaker 8 (15:37):
It wasn't til the second half of that season and
then they really started like going through these tough games
and he was playing whites out and then that built.
Speaker 2 (15:45):
But like there's there was there's never been as much.
Speaker 8 (15:48):
Hype as there was for arch Manning a week one
and before the season, in.
Speaker 2 (15:53):
All seriousness, and that's not a detriment to him.
Speaker 8 (15:56):
But dude, LeVar, but trust me, people were talking about
him being the number one overall pick. People talk about
being the heavy Heisman favorite. I mean, it's it's not
even close.
Speaker 7 (16:06):
I don't know. I mean I think about guys like
Andrew Luck and going into their last season, not even
Andrew Luck.
Speaker 2 (16:12):
Dude, it's not a big enough brand. This is Texas,
this is ut.
Speaker 8 (16:18):
And this is the team that was, by the way,
the odds on favorite to win the national Championship.
Speaker 7 (16:22):
I would offer you the same reason. And you just
said about the river rivalry. I don't. I mean, I
don't think that applies an appeal that's appealing to everyone.
Nexas fans are pretty obnoxious. I get it within their
their community, I get that.
Speaker 2 (16:35):
But to say no to this, I'm telling you this.
Speaker 8 (16:38):
Athing Yes, you're talking about the last name a huge
college brand, Steven the way the season started two.
Speaker 4 (16:45):
Starts and he was the odds on favorite to the
two starts, and teams in the NFL were going to
tank for his services next year off two starts.
Speaker 7 (16:56):
I get that, but I mean there have been some.
Speaker 2 (16:59):
Never in the history been there as much hype ever.
Speaker 7 (17:02):
I mean, you, okay, you don't have a problem with
it for you guys. I mean, if that's how y'all
want to roll with it, y'all roll with it that way.
I don't, necessarily, I think there's been a lot of
guys throughout the years that have been truly, truly, truly
hyped up athletes coming into the season were regardless of
I was, and I'm sure ca listen, the bottom line
(17:25):
is is that even if you are the most hyped ever,
like I don't want to get caught up on one
one line item of being hyped up going there have
been plenty of guys that are hyped going into a season,
no words, And at the end, for me, either you're
going to live up to the hype or you're not.
Like that's ultimately how I've always looked at anybody that's
(17:48):
come into it, whether it's a quarterback, running back, receiver,
I mean, you're I just I just you gotta when
you're on that Heightsman list, like whether it was was
Johnny footballall lord.
Speaker 8 (18:00):
Tim Cap saying that in saying that most guys who
are on that Heisman list, to Jonas's point, they've played games.
Speaker 2 (18:10):
He had started two games.
Speaker 8 (18:12):
No, I'm not, listen, I'm not disputing like, no one's
on a Heisman list after starting two games the next year,
it's just very very rare as far as the favorite,
Like we're not talking about he's on a list, LeVar
like always a preseason no, no, no, No, he was the
betting favorite. Texas was the betting favorite to win the
(18:34):
National championsh I get it. It's it's but you still
kind of unheard of.
Speaker 7 (18:39):
You still have to prove out or not obviously by
standard of what what's being represented. Like nobody disputed it.
Nobody came out from the Manning family. Is like, listen,
don't say nothing about him. He didn't come out and say,
don't say nothing about me. I mean, and I'm not
saying he needed to or anybody else needed to. The
hype is the hype. If you're able to hype train
(19:01):
it and connect that that caboose to somebody that's going
to carry it, you do it. We had a fifth
round draft pick carry an entire NFL draft. If you
if you found something that you can hype up and
you can link to, you do it. That's all I'm saying.
And you can live up to the hype or you cannot.
But what was you what it would use for?
Speaker 2 (19:22):
It worked?
Speaker 7 (19:24):
There was a lot of hypt It worked.
Speaker 8 (19:26):
Speaking of hype and the whole Jersey retirement, I think
they're just now retiring Cordell Stewart, Is that right?
Speaker 7 (19:34):
I don't know. They decided to do that. Huh. Yeah,
it's like, let's have offset this a little bit.
Speaker 2 (19:42):
Like I think I have to you go check.
Speaker 8 (19:44):
Someone had told me that because I kind of haven't
been paying as much attention of been watching them on film.
But obviously, you know, see's not getting as much attention
as they were last year. But it's and that's the
whole other conversation.
Speaker 4 (19:58):
I guess it's not been retired, but he's in the
Colorado Sports Hall of Fame twenty twenty six class.
Speaker 5 (20:09):
Like they took that long.
Speaker 2 (20:10):
I think they're looking to retire it or something.
Speaker 7 (20:14):
Would you watch your jersey retire, Donny? Yeah? No, Jonas
conversation you're not a part of Sorry I.
Speaker 5 (20:24):
Would.
Speaker 8 (20:27):
I wouldn't, only because like I don't understand the significance.
And also like I remember being young and like there
was a reason why you wore the number ten at
my high school, Like that was significant, that was meaningful.
Speaker 2 (20:40):
Unfortunately, since then.
Speaker 8 (20:41):
It's kind of like lost its way because you know,
times change and kids want to have their own number.
But like it's kind of like in soccer, you know
when someone is downing ten, you're like, I.
Speaker 2 (20:51):
Know that guy's good. It was like that too at
my high school.
Speaker 8 (20:55):
So it had importance for me for like that lineage
of guys game before me and then hopefully guys who
came after, And that was one of the reasons why
I was important when I was in college.
Speaker 7 (21:06):
Are original in that Notre Dame.
Speaker 8 (21:09):
I mean, I'm not sure how you put that, but yeah,
a quarterback position, Hell yeah. I mean Matt Levekio was
ten before me.
Speaker 2 (21:16):
If you don't remember yet, well okay, but.
Speaker 8 (21:19):
That's kind of the general point. I mean, there wasn't
any all Americans. There weren't any play of the Year.
Speaker 7 (21:24):
You're the one that made.
Speaker 2 (21:27):
Sure, all right.
Speaker 8 (21:28):
But but but the point is like I would never
want to stop a kid who loves that number, who
wants to go there, and then you know, wants.
Speaker 2 (21:37):
To wear it.
Speaker 8 (21:37):
Like it's like if it was retired, I'd say, then
I'm retired. Let the kid wear it. I mean Dane
Christ who is a bigger recruit than I was, when
he came to Notre Day, he asked, He's like, hey,
I want to wear the number ten. I was like, awesome, man,
go rocket go, you know, create your own story.
Speaker 7 (21:56):
You started. All I know is, man, when you started
now and you understand how important that number is, why
would you ever want it to be out of circulation? Now?
Speaker 2 (22:07):
The question is, like you understand because of eleven right.
Speaker 7 (22:09):
Now, But the question becomes, do you play a part
and who wears that ten at Notre Dame? Because well,
if you're the reason why, then you should be involved
with them in the process of Warringtons as a quarterback.
Speaker 8 (22:26):
Now again, I just said, like one of their big
recruits team Chris, who came from southern California, he had
come to me and he's like, hey, I want to
wear the number ten. Yeah, of course love that, so yeah,
for a period of time. But it's also like twenty
years removed. So I'm kind of not that guy where
I can turn the page and I can say like, hey,
(22:48):
We've got a couple of different coaches since then.
Speaker 2 (22:51):
I'm not going to go around being like, hey, man,
make sure you got that quarterback. We're a ten. You know.
I'm just I'm not that guy.
Speaker 7 (22:58):
It works more organic than that, you know what I mean,
Like it's based off of the reputation of it.
Speaker 5 (23:04):
They need to ask your permission.
Speaker 7 (23:06):
I mean, knowing he shouldn't be involved, he definitely like
where we're at, Like where we're at with the n
I l where it's at now, Like Brady Quinn should
be making a residual off of every ten jersey that
is sold, like and I don't. While we're agging him
on and we're joking, Like, I am making a serious
(23:27):
point right now. If you were able to build a
brand behind a number and that number is actually thriving
and has become a part of the fabric of that
that culture and that fan base, the people that built
it should benefit from it.
Speaker 2 (23:45):
Well, that's and that's what mcd's with eleven.
Speaker 7 (23:47):
Yeah, see you're fighting back, but that's a little, that's
a good little that's uncalled for. You know, it's uncalled for.
I took it down on a serious lane, but we
were a.
Speaker 8 (24:01):
I know, I can't be serious though, you know, it's
too early to be serious in the morning.
Speaker 7 (24:05):
I have issues with Matt mcglowing either. By the way,
you think they'll retire quarterback. I hope they would not
try to retire eleven based off of Matt mcgloing. How
about that.
Speaker 5 (24:15):
You think they'll retire Mike back in Tijuana.
Speaker 8 (24:18):
They're not going to retire Jersey. They're going to retire
your mail block number. That's there.
Speaker 4 (24:23):
Yeah, I was just gonna ask that, will they retire
the mic condom like.
Speaker 2 (24:29):
A case break? The hell is that we totally went.
Speaker 7 (24:32):
Off the rails go to break.
Speaker 4 (24:35):
We were brought to you by the Home Depot. Everyone
knows first impressions start with the first coat. That's why
you can trust Kills Primers for a smooth and professional finish.

here on FSR.
Speaker 5 (24:56):
HI. This is Jay.
Speaker 9 (24:57):
I'm the producer of the Paula and Tony Fusco Show.
Usually in these promos they asked you to listen to
the show. I'm here to ask you please don't listen
to the show. The hosts are two absolute morons who
have the dumbest takes on sports imagicable. Don't listen to
the show so it can get camps.
Speaker 5 (25:11):
What the hell studio get him?
Speaker 3 (25:13):
Pull Lee?
Speaker 2 (25:17):
Ignore that fool.
Speaker 10 (25:18):
Listen to the Tony Fosco Show on the iHeart Radio
app or wherever you get your podcast.
Speaker 3 (25:22):
He's still moving. Be sure to catch live editions of
Two Pros and a Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn,
LeVar Arrington and Jonas Knox weekdays at six am Eastern,
three am Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 4 (25:39):
Two Pros and a Cup of Joe, Fox Sports Radio,
LeVar Arrington, Brady Quinn, Jonas Knox with you here, come
it up. We'll call it about fifteen minutes from now,
we're gonna have our Midweek Awards, the good, the bad,
and the ugly. Those will be yours right here on FSR.
So that was pretty quick.
Speaker 5 (25:57):
CJ.
Speaker 4 (25:58):
Gardner Johnson has been released by the Baltimore Ravens. It
was a hell of a run. He was there a week.
So somebody who just played in the Super Bowl with
the Eagles. He's also a guy who's got the unique
ability to get people on the field, including his own teammates,
try and fight him, either in practice or in games.
Speaker 5 (26:20):
And he was in Baltimore for a week.
Speaker 4 (26:22):
It seems like that's a place that could use some
help in the secondary and that's it. That'll do it
for his time with the Baltimore Ravens.
Speaker 2 (26:31):
He's a hell of a player.
Speaker 8 (26:32):
But and this has been in since twenty twenty one,
New Orleans, Philly, Detroit, back to Philly, Houston, Baltimore.
Speaker 4 (26:44):
I mean, it's a lot if you're if you're a
good player and you're bouncing around that much, not.
Speaker 2 (26:52):
Great var exactly behind the scenes.
Speaker 7 (26:55):
Listening being and he's a BALLHOWK Yeah, I don't. I
don't know why he just he just got released. I mean,
is there there any context to it? I just listen,
when when you can ball and you end up on
different different teams, there's a few different reasons why that
could happen. One could be it could be a numbers game.
(27:16):
It could be an injury. I would assume at this
point in the season, it could be an injury where
they needed to bring somebody else in at a different position,
and and that played a part in who they could
keep and who they couldn't keep, and and trying to
just keep balancing out your check book with the additions
(27:36):
and subtractions of what you need on your roster. I mean,
that's that's Is.
Speaker 2 (27:41):
There anything he could be doing behind the scenes you
think far?
Speaker 7 (27:43):
I mean, that could be that could also be a
reason why you get released very quickly and and you know,
or something you've already done behind the scenes that is
making its way to the surface. Those are always possibilities
as well.
Speaker 4 (27:58):
His agent, Kevin Connor, said the split was quote an mutual, amicable, amicable,
mutual decision of course.
Speaker 7 (28:08):
So in other words, they weren't playing him. He wanted
to play. If you're not going to play me, then
let me go play somewhere else.
Speaker 4 (28:16):
But there, I think the worst team in the league
as far as points allowed, Like their defense is terrible.
You would think a guy like that who is a ballhawk,
who's played for a while and played at a high level,
like you, like that would be a value to the
Baltimore Ravens.
Speaker 5 (28:31):
And he lasted a week?
Speaker 8 (28:33):
Yeah can I Can I throw something out there too?
He just got there, Like, isn't there a learning curve
with the system? Like maybe you don't want to play
him initially because you're like a r I we want
to make sure he knows what he's doing, or if
he's just out there every time in man coverage, I'm
gonna notice that.
Speaker 2 (28:51):
I'm like, oh, yeah, they just signed this guy.
Speaker 8 (28:53):
Uh man man there you go, let's run our man beater,
Let's let's go and run our mash, let's go run
or whatever concept we need to run him open like,
wouldn't you think that is.
Speaker 2 (29:02):
Part of it too?
Speaker 7 (29:05):
I think anything can play up. Just be wild with
your speculation. Just give us a wild accusation here. I
would say the wildest, the wildest speculation, I mean, the
wildest speculation would probably be off the field. Something off
(29:27):
the field. Maybe he did he showed up late to
a meeting because he stayed too long for a meeting
somewhere else, you know, maybe he maybe he had a
delivery Wednesday and found himself jobless on the next day.
I don't know, but I would say that would be
(29:48):
the most out the most outrageous claim is I would
have given it to you, que, but we're you know,
we got to limit ourselves on how we present things
right through here. So just take a hint from that.
You know, the wildest thing you out hanging out? You
know you know what, yeah, yeah, do that look at
the look at.
Speaker 5 (30:10):
Like he's everywhere he's gone.
Speaker 4 (30:12):
There's been some there's some sort of an issue and
it's not. And I've seen people describe him as when
he's on your team, you love him.
Speaker 5 (30:19):
When he's not, you can't stand him.
Speaker 4 (30:21):
And he's like there was even a story years ago
when he was in New Orleans that Michael Thomas basically
like cracked him in practice because he was running his
mouth so much that they got into a fight in practice.
There was a playoff game against the Bears where he
got a guy to try and snatch his chain.
Speaker 5 (30:44):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (30:44):
There's been also, like everywhere he's gone, there's been a
dust up. There's been a fight either in games in practice.
Speaker 7 (30:52):
Most outrageous claims.
Speaker 8 (30:53):
I'm not a I'm not a chaines.
Speaker 7 (31:00):
Sit it on air, but you know, man, you got
to pump those air brakes.
Speaker 2 (31:03):
You've got that. Now I can't even I'm stunned. I
didn't think. I didn't think you're gonna go that route.
Speaker 7 (31:11):
That was uh, but now y'all see why I was
fumbling over my put it back in the Okay, I
got it. Yeah, I did shoot it all right, so
y'all clear.
Speaker 8 (31:23):
You know, it's interesting and and I've been on some
some teams that are in the Baltimore Ravens position, bad
football teams, and it's funny, like sometimes you get new
guys who come in and they take on this attitude
like they're gonna be the change, which, by the way,
I'm not ever going to to, you know, say that
that's not the right approach for a new guy who
(31:44):
joins the roster. But sometimes they talk, you know, they'll
talk a lot and like, hey.
Speaker 2 (31:48):
Man, this is why y'all won it five. Y'all can't
do out here. You know, you'll get you asked like
there's some of that going on.
Speaker 8 (31:56):
I'm saying that, well, I'm I'm not saying that he did.
Speaker 2 (32:01):
I'm not saying he didn't, but forever, I'm just saying
for everyone.
Speaker 8 (32:05):
I've seen that too, where there's like a core nucleus
of guys who kind of come together like, hey man,
we need to get this asshole off our team.
Speaker 7 (32:27):
Or somebody on that core nucleus might put their hands
on him too.
Speaker 8 (32:33):
And look, the best organizations, it never hits the media.
It'll never get out if there was an altercation, if
there's there's locker room practice something, it it'll never get out.
Speaker 2 (32:43):
Remember, the Ravens is a very very good organization.
Speaker 3 (32:46):
Was it?
Speaker 5 (32:46):
Last year?
Speaker 4 (32:47):
Deontay Johnson was with Baltimore for and he like wouldn't
go in the game, Like there was a story where
he wouldn't have gone it. He just refused to go
in a game because he wasn't happy that he wasn't used.
Speaker 7 (32:57):
Up to that point.
Speaker 5 (32:58):
And they were like, oh yeah, that'll that. And it
was just real quick.
Speaker 7 (33:03):
Tuesdays.
Speaker 4 (33:04):
You know, gotta gotta got a trash bag full of
his stuff and he's out the door.
Speaker 2 (33:08):
That was probably dumb to, wasn't it.
Speaker 7 (33:10):
Yeah, absolutely, yeah, dumb. Thank you all right, bad, No,
it's all good. I mean, sometimes you gotta let people
know know how it feels like for real, Like that's
a for real that's a for real sentiment there. Like, yeah,
sometimes you just gotta get him up at it there,
you know, because if you let it, if you let
it linger on, if you let it linger on, then
(33:31):
it becomes a real thing.
Speaker 4 (33:33):
You have to let it linger Have to cranberries, Oh
you would like that.
Speaker 8 (33:39):
Song just because he said linger you all of a
sudden immediately put in a cranberry something.
Speaker 5 (33:43):
Man.
Speaker 7 (33:43):
I didn't even feel like I took it down that lane.
Speaker 8 (33:46):
But yeah, it was just not as Rick Astley take
from earlier. Okay, I mean he literally said one of
the bars from that song.
Speaker 7 (33:53):
Didn't know that, just thought I was on my pimp s,
you know what I mean.
Speaker 2 (33:58):
Meanwhile, in the back of your head at some point
that was playing, you.
Speaker 7 (34:01):
Know maybe so it's I mean, it's a good song.
I listened to that this morning.
Speaker 2 (34:09):
It kind of makes you happy when you hear it.
Speaker 7 (34:11):
It does, no, it does. It makes you feel good.
It's like a summer song, like a spring break type
of deal, you know what I mean. Sit there waiting
listening to that song. Wow, they all go talk to Q,
but they can all get to it and they can
all stay.
Speaker 4 (34:28):
I do want to click the link that you sent
over because I know it's going to be outraged.
Speaker 5 (34:32):
Oh it's funny to me.
Speaker 7 (34:36):
It's funny.
Speaker 4 (34:37):
By the way, we are brought to you by Express Pros.

Up next, we are going to have a Wednesday tradition
here on the show. It's the good, the Bad, and
(34:58):
the ugly right here on FSR. The good, the bad,
the ugly can all be made all.
Speaker 7 (35:03):
Good when you got some Louisiana hot sauce. That's right.
The food tastes better, the drinks are colder, and the
hot sauce, oh yeah, that better be the original Louisiana
hot sauce because nothing, and I mean absolutely nothing brings
(35:25):
the heat to your team like a good dub, and
nothing brings the flavor like that bold, hand crafted kick
straight out of Louisiana. That's right. It's a kick of
peppery peppers, vinegar and salt that our Louisiana flavor masters
have been blending perfectly for almost one hundred years. Eh
(35:48):
turns every good meal into a great meal, every great
meal into a party, and on your plate gets it cracking, wings, nachos, burgers,
doesn't matter. You hit it with that original Louisiana hot
sauce after a Sunday win and suddenly it's unbeatable, like
a touchdown dance on your tongue. And hey, if your
(36:10):
team didn't pull off the win this week, that's okay,
pour someone anyway, it helps ease the pain. That's what
we call a victory formation for your taste Buds, the
original Louisiana Hot Sauce, the Louisiana Hot Bye you.
Speaker 3 (36:26):
Some be sure to catch live editions of Two Pros
and a Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn, LeVar Errington
and Jonas Knox weekdays at six am Eastern, three am Pacific.
Speaker 4 (36:40):
Two Pros and a Cup of Joe, Fox Sports Radio,
LaVar Arrington, Yeah, Brady Quinn, Jonas knocks with you coming
off top of next hour a little over ten minutes
from now. We've got a Wednesday tradition here to uphold.
It's the one and only Petros Papadakis. He will be
yours here on FSR before we get to our midweek awards, though,
a remind to go to home depot and shop for Makita.
(37:04):
Get tools that perform at the highest level on every
job without compromise. When you shop Makda at the home depot,
when the job calls for the best call on Makda
built to be the best available at the home depot,
how pros get more done.
Speaker 3 (37:20):
There are some good things that happen, and there's some bad,
and then there's some downright ugly things. It's time for good,
bad and lovely.
Speaker 10 (37:31):
All right, Ian Roddy, Who's got what this week? Yeah,
that's right, the good, the bad, and the ugly.
Speaker 5 (37:36):
Let's start with this.
Speaker 10 (37:37):
Let's start with the good that this week belongs to
Sheriff LeVar Arrington.
Speaker 7 (37:41):
What do we think, LeVar oh Man? What is good
this week? Well, I'll say this, I think I think
our college football has been good, even though it's been bad.
I mean, it could have been a great week for
me to do. Ugly obviously what's taking place with Penn State,
but all in all, just looking at the way games
(38:03):
have played out, you know, looking at the way USC
is playing. They just got a big win, seeing like
the parody and seeing some top top teams go down,
whiles some teams not so highly rated have played well
and gotten victories. I think it's been a super super
entertaining college football season so far. So I'll say that's
(38:25):
a good thing.
Speaker 5 (38:27):
All right.
Speaker 10 (38:28):
Next up the bad, Sheriff Jonas Knox, what do you
got this week for the bad?
Speaker 7 (38:31):
In sports?
Speaker 4 (38:32):
We got to go all the way to London for
the bad because whatever the NFL put on display for
those fans, and we talked about it on Monday like
it's you know, it's not about you know, the quality
of the game. It's about the atmosphere, what it's like,
the excitement. I don't know who was excited watching the
Broncos and the Jets. That game was awful, awful. The
Broncos defense is tremendous. They get after the quarterback better
(38:56):
than anybody in the NFL. But whatever anybody thought Aaron
Glenn was going to do differently for that organization, and
whatever anybody thought that Justin Fields could bring that team
that Aaron Rodgers couldn't. I have no idea what you
were thinking. That team stinks, That game sucked. That was
my bad for the week.
Speaker 5 (39:15):
Field is still holding onto the football somewhere.
Speaker 10 (39:17):
But let's end d Damney, and let's end it with
the ugly Sheriff Brady Quinn.
Speaker 5 (39:24):
What you got for us? What was ugly this week
in sports?
Speaker 2 (39:28):
All Right?
Speaker 8 (39:29):
I'm not going to say that the Penn State firing
of James Franklin's ugly. What's ugly about it is how
people treat James Franklin his family.
Speaker 2 (39:41):
You know, that's the ugly spart part of all this is.
Speaker 8 (39:46):
And LeVar, I know you talked about this like Bill
O'Brien was there for a couple of years, but James
Franklin really came to Penn State after they received probably
the closest thing to a death penalty, and helped create stability,
help build foundation, helped.
Speaker 2 (40:02):
Make Penn State kind of relevant again.
Speaker 8 (40:03):
I mean, they're playing for the national championship, the playing
a semi final, and they were damn close last year,
and it's just it's crazy to me how fast things
can change. I was just talking to a buddy, a
neighbor whose wife went to Penn State, and we're like,
sixteen days, man, you're up a touchdown in overtime, you
win that, you're probably viewed as one of the top
(40:24):
two teams in college football, on a clear path towards
making the College Football Playoff and sixteen.
Speaker 2 (40:30):
Days, you know, now eighteen days LT or whatever it is.
Speaker 8 (40:33):
You know, you lose a couple of games and now
your coach is fired and who knows the direction of
the program.
Speaker 2 (40:39):
But it goes back to the initial point.
Speaker 8 (40:41):
Just stop with the with the you know, comments on
James Franklin and his family, like they don't deserve that,
No one deserves that. You don't need to be nasty
about it. James Franklin did the best job that he
could do while he was there, and no one wanted
them to win more than him, regardless of what you
want to say about the So I just hope people,
(41:02):
whether it's in person people on social media, can.
Speaker 2 (41:05):
Stop the ugliness with that stuff. Man, I'm not deserving.
Speaker 4 (41:09):
I was talking to LeVar about this on Monday when
we were coming in that there's a scene where after
the game on Saturday, he's walking off the field with his.
Speaker 7 (41:18):
Daughter and she looks terrified. Oh, they be saying some
wild stuff to him. Bro maybe saying some wild stuff,
and he generally tells them not to walk with He
tells her not to walk with him, but she does it.
She stands in there with him. They'd be saying some
wild stuff though,
