we feel on Boys one hour into the show? One
(01:17):
hour is probably better than Jamar Chase right now. He
seems a little frustrated, doesn't have a new contract, but
he is back. He is back, And Diana Rossini did
point that out yesterday that you know, Wednesday is an
important day, you know, if you want to be a
part of the game plan when they start installing this stuff.
Speaker 3 (01:33):
First second down, bit, first second down?
Speaker 2 (01:35):
Is that how that works? First second down on Wednesday?
Speaker 3 (01:37):
Second down Wednesday, third down, Thursday, red zone? You know
juju two minute Fridays. Yeah, I mean you're mixing all
the stuff in throughout, but that's typically how you go
about a NFL weekly install.
Speaker 2 (01:49):
How does the install work on defense bar?
Speaker 1 (01:52):
What do you do? What's the lineup? What do you mean? Like?
Speaker 2 (01:55):
How do you like what you how do you know?
Speaker 3 (01:57):
Kn't hear LeVar? LeVar?
Speaker 1 (01:59):
You guys can't hear me?
Speaker 3 (02:00):
You sound really low?
Speaker 1 (02:02):
Why, I don't know, I don't know. It's not like
you're on your deathbed, Bud, not at all. How about
there it is.
Speaker 3 (02:08):
There, it is now, it's back. Now he's back.
Speaker 1 (02:11):
Okay, So I wasn't loud? Oh That's interesting because I
swear I was talking and nobody could hear me. But
all right, is that better?
Speaker 3 (02:19):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (02:20):
Okay, now ask me, geez, ask me again what you
were asking?
Speaker 2 (02:23):
So on defense, is there like a certain point during
the week where you start installing certain things? Are you
looking at as opposed to offense? Like, how does it work?
Or is it just the same every week? You do
what you do?
Speaker 1 (02:35):
It isn't the same every week. You have a ton
of packages that you learn during during spring and during
the summer, and then those packages that apply to the
teams that you're going to play, which is usually put
together by a whole bunch of like interns and analysts
or whatever that put together the cut ups and everything
that goes along with the defenses you're going to play.
(02:58):
You get that. I want to say. I used to
get my scouting report on Mondays, even though even though
we didn't we did like a like a walkthrough, and
then when you came you had Tuesday off for treatment
and that's your day off. I think that's still how
it is. I don't know if it's the same for everyone.
(03:21):
And then Tuesday was when you basically implemented what you
did scouting report wise on Monday, and that was generally
the day you'd be in pads and you would thump
the pads on Tuesdays and sometimes you would or excuse me, yes, Wednesdays,
excuse me on Wednesdays. Wednesdays were thumper days, and then
(03:45):
Thursday were either tops and as you got later into
the year, it would be shells and it was just
more I guess, more situational on Thursdays, situational and going
over what you already were going over on on Wednesday.
So and then Friday's will walk through and then you
(04:06):
have a test. They actually give you a test, and
it's a I don't know if it's written now, it's
probably digital now if they still do it. But you'd
have a test and you had to turn that test
in on Sunday morning, I believe Sunday morning or Saturday evening.
At meetings, you have to turn in your test and
(04:29):
then you sit in your breakdown meeting and go over
the answers of the test and make sure you knew
what the plays were, the formations were, the tendencies, trick
plays down in distance, all those things.
Speaker 2 (04:40):
Are getting quizzed on this stuff.
Speaker 3 (04:41):
So you just call it a fast Friday. Yeah, usually
it's no pads, nothing like that, but you're trying to
get in and out. And part of the reason is
is that's actually the day the coaches get the longest
amount of time off. It's typically on Fridays, so they'd
want to get in and out. You'd want to get
in and out.
Speaker 1 (05:00):
You know.
Speaker 3 (05:00):
Some of the coaches have kids who are playing high
school games. They want to go see him play on
Friday night in high school. So for all those reasons,
there's usually fast Fridays. The interesting thing is how Chim
Kelly and his impact on the NFL for his time
with the Eagles, had really changed up the way teams
saw the seven day work week. Within the CBA, you
(05:22):
have to give a day off. It's just part of
the collective of bargaining agreement. It used to be Tuesdays.
A lot of teams now will take their off day
the day after the game. And the research behind it
is the day of the game is obviously your This
is the greatest impact on your body. It's the most
taxing on your central nervous system. So for you to
(05:42):
recover the best, you want to get the best night
of sleep after that high intensity uh you know, punishment
and impact on your body, so you want to really
sleep in and and and get as much rest as
you can that next day. Well, what that caused was
is a cent actually a longer work week for players
because everyone's still going to come in the next day.
(06:04):
They're gonna come in for treatment, probably work out, run
a little bit, lift a little bit, try to flush
out all the soreness that you have. You obviously want
to go watch the game tape and everything else, which
you'll do as a team on Tuesday anyway, But like
any other player, like you want to know right away, like, hey,
what did I do wrong? When I do right? Was
this what I thought it was? That's typically now how
(06:24):
it works is the off day will almost come the
day after the game, and then Tuesday will be kind
of a lighter day. You'll go through some of the mistakes,
you kind of ramp up, start to do your install
for the new team, and they kind of juggle throughout
the course of the week, the high intensity days and
the low intensity days, and so it used to be
like the day before the game you would do barely
(06:47):
anything and be like a pure T shirt, shorts, walk
through review of everything you're doing. Nowadays, a lot of
teams are trying to ramp it back up. They'll have
guys running around a little bit, and they'll have guys
starting to kind of act their central nervous system and
wake their body up. And so probably the last you know,
hard day of practice to end up having is you know,
(07:08):
somewhere between like a Tuesday Wednesday, then like a Friday,
they'll have like kind of another little bit harder practice.
They'll be fast, they'll be short, but it'll be a
little more intense as they kind of build back up
for that game scenario. So that's just one of the ways,
like the practice schedule even in the NFL in a
normal game week with a game on Sunday, has been
changed up compared to.
Speaker 1 (07:28):
What it used to be.
Speaker 2 (07:29):
Damn, damn. See a little little peek inside the curtain,
you know what's going on there? Like how do teams
get this done? Right there? That's how you get it
covered now. If you'd like to know how things are
getting done in Cincinnati, well, it's real simple. Jamar Chase
doesn't have a contract, but at least he's back at
practice trying to ramp up for their opener, which is
a weird thing the NFL has done. They've given him
(07:51):
a bye week to start off the season. They've got
the Patriots to coming up on Sunday. They're gonna wipe
out New England. Jamar Chase or not, but he is there.
He's at practice, is his quarterback. His buddy. Joe Burrow
talked about the return of Jamar Chase yesterday in Cincinnati.
I swear to got hasn't changed. I'm not getting involved
(08:11):
in his business.
Speaker 1 (08:12):
I'm going about mine and trying to get better every
day and going out and getting ready to play for Sunday.
Speaker 2 (08:17):
So I know he's doing what.
Speaker 4 (08:20):
He needs to do to be ready to go if
if he need be.
Speaker 2 (08:24):
So I'm just doing what I gotta do. So is
he gonna play?
Speaker 1 (08:28):
Need be? Don't sound like it.
Speaker 3 (08:31):
Now would he might need? Is for you to take
some of that money you got pass it.
Speaker 1 (08:35):
His way, right, Because that's what Jamar Chase was saying
when they were paying Joe Burrow right. It's like that,
you know, I'm not going to get in his pocket.
They need to pay him this, that and the other.
And I think we had the conversation that at some
point they're gonna have to have the same conversation about
Jamar Chase. And now they are and he's not getting paid.
(08:55):
My whole thing is why would we expect him to
play when he's held out, well, he's held in the
entire time. That would be my biggest question, because finds
and whatnot.
Speaker 3 (09:07):
I mean, technically, if the Brown family really wants to,
they can find him because he's under contracts.
Speaker 1 (09:13):
So, but they could already be finding him.
Speaker 3 (09:14):
Correct, they could be, but I think they've probably been
good about it to this point. But once you're under contract,
you're not having any sort of health issue, you're cleared
by the medical staff, then it's like, all right, now
now it's becoming detrimental to the team. That's all would
be a looked at.
Speaker 1 (09:29):
At least I would think that it would already be that.
And if I'm Jamar Chase and I know that that's
the stance I'm taking, I don't see why that would
change because you got to regular season versus it just
being the you know, being the training camp. It's like
if you're going to sit out, or excuse me, if
(09:50):
you're going to sit in and you're going to hold in,
so it's like, Okay, I'm gonna hold in until we
get to regular season, and then it's kind of like
Game of Chicken is over. Didn't happened, Nothing happened. I'm
back at practice. Everything is good. Sounds like to me.
By what Joe Burrow said is that he's there, but
(10:10):
it doesn't seem as though he's going to do anything
that would jeopardize him Jamar Chase getting the contract that
he wants, meaning that if we need like if what
did he say, if we need him or I don't
know it. Just the way Joe Burrow said that, it
doesn't sound like he's anticipating him playing.
Speaker 3 (10:33):
Yeah, I mean, and it's a tough spot to be
in if you're Joe Burrow. I mean, right, you've already
signed an into your extension. You got your extension. I
believe he did it right before his fourth season, so
that the timing would be similar in the sense of
Joe Burrow's a first round draft pick. Jamar Chase is
a first round draft pick, and oftentimes teams don't want
(10:55):
to sign those guys until they're a year away, meaning
after year four, heading into their fifth year option that's
usually been picked up at this point, and that's when
teams will most oftentimes elect to sign him to that extension.
Burrow signed it before year four. Jamar Chase, who's now
played three years, he's trying to sign his before year
(11:15):
four because he's proven himself and he's not wrong. And
the president has been said because they just did it
with Joe Burrow. So that's the tough part about this
is the Bengals have set the precedent. They've already shown
that they did this, and they know they valued Jamar
Chase because instead of signing to Higgins to an extension,
they're saving them money for him and they're letting Higgins
(11:36):
play under the franchise tag. The tough part is, I
think for Chase is you know, if he wants to
reset the market and get paid more than justin Jefferson,
It's not about production or what he does in the field.
It's about finance. It's about the Brown family being able
to come up and construct a contract that's going to
appease Jamar Chase and his agent or representation and give
(11:57):
him the money that he wants and the cash that
he wants. Not all owners have that sitting there lying around,
and so it may be harder to come together than
Jamar Chase and his you know, his crew realizes, and
I'm sure they've been promised that we'll get this done,
we'll get this done, and we'll get this done. But again,
when you're talking about millions and millions and millions of
(12:19):
dollars and it's a franchise that doesn't have a bunch
of money coming in from some other, you know, huge
multinational corporation from somewhere else, it's not as easily done.
And I think that's that's the tough part for Jamar
Chase is if he waits a year from now, there's
zero down in my mind, he's gonna break the bag
and he's going to reset the market easily. But if
he wants it right now, it may not look exactly
(12:41):
how he's going to want it or how it would
be probably a year from now, a.
Speaker 2 (12:45):
Son Reddick as the last of his kind, somebody who's
got the balls to really hold out, Like I'll show
you rookies how it's done. You want to hold out,
don't show up at all, Like tell them to go
screw themselves and make it awkward for Joe Douglas and
Robert Sala and then I'm just gonna be nowhere to
be found, last of his kind. Good for us on Reddick,
at least you give us some juicy to go into
the sun.
Speaker 1 (13:05):
And Randy Gregory hanging out somewhere. Randy Watson, nasty Randy.

We did the NFC last Hour. It is time to
fire off our AFC predictions.
Speaker 3 (15:01):
Here.
Speaker 2 (15:02):
Some interesting situations as we've discussed throughout the offseason, so
now It's time to call our shots. Brady Quinn, step
right up.
Speaker 3 (15:13):
Start off with the AFC North, to me, the most
parody of any division in the NFL. This one was
a tight, tight race, tight race, tight, super tight, so
tight that I've got two teams tied at eleven and
six a top of the AFC North, and it's Cleveland
(15:34):
and Cincinnati. Yes, Joe Burrow back, I think Jamar Chase plays.
Not sure if they get the contract done or not.
Either way, both teams go eleven and six. Cleveland edges
them out due to tiebreakers. I got Baltimore at ten
and seven and Pittsburgh for the first time and the
Mike tomlin era has a losing record, they go eight
(15:54):
and nine. But that's how tight this division is. I
just think Cleveland's got one of the best rosters. I
think Deshaun Watson will be improved within this offense. The
addition of Jerry Judy will continue to help out the
passing game. But looking at this team, there's no reason now,
especially when the defense look with Jim Schwartz as their
DC last year, they can't continue to build off of that.
Nick Chubb will be healthy at some point this season.
(16:15):
They're the total package, and I think this is the
year it starts to ring true for Cleveland fans. But
I got since Native eleven six, they're right there. A
wildcard team, second in the division, Joe Burrow back for
an entire season healthy makes all the difference in the world.
Baltimore another wildcard team at ten and seven. Again, we
talked about tonight's matchup. I didn't say they're gonna win,
(16:37):
but I think they'll keep it within that number. They
go ten and seven. The addition of Derrick Henry is helpful. However,
still kind of curious to see how this this offense
comes together. It led to Lamar Jackson winning the MVP
last year. Some different you know pieces now as part
of it. How does that play a factor? And Pittsburgh
look an eight nine record. I know people are gonna say, well,
(16:58):
that's taking a step back. They're not as as they were.
I'm just not really sure where this team fits in
amongst the division. I think they're competitive, I'm not sure
it's the rosters all there compared to the other three.
So I just have them one game back from that standpoint.
So that's my AFC North Cleveland taking it away. Winning
a tiebreaker over Cincinnati at eleven and six.
Speaker 2 (17:19):
HM.
Speaker 1 (17:21):
Much like I said about the Detroit Lions, this Baltimore
Ravens team was a Zay Flowers two times z a Flower,
you know, mental laps away from playing in the Super Bowl.
Uh So to me, I look at the Baltimore Ravens.
They didn't get worse this offseason, they got better. They're
(17:42):
going to take the NFC North, I mean AFC North.
Excuse me. I look at Cincy and Cleveland to battle
it out for that second position, and I'm going to say,
what a healthy Joe Burrow. They edge out Cleveland, and
Cleveland and Pittsburgh are fighting for third and fourth out
(18:02):
of that AFC North division. That's how I see.
Speaker 2 (18:06):
I got the Cincinnati Bengals winning the AFC North. I
think the Bengals are back. Last year was kind of
thrown into the mud. Joe Burrow gets injured, he's out
for the whole, you know, for the rest of the season.
And now all anybody wanted to talk about was Jake
Browning's girlfriend in her jumpsuit in the press box. So
I got the Cincinnati Bengals.
Speaker 3 (18:23):
Winning that to talk about.
Speaker 2 (18:24):
Honest, listen, you know, I I was definitely not alone
when it came to that. But I've got the Browns
finishing second. I just there's something off. The roster's great,
there's just something off about this whole Deshaun Watson stuff.
Kevin Stefanski. It feels like there's mixed messaging coming out
of there, and who the hell knows whether or not
you know, he's gonna be able to complete a season.
(18:45):
I could also make the same case for Baltimore. It's
part of the reason why I'm down on him. I
think they had their opportunity last year to really make
some noise, to go to a Super Bowl. Everything lined
up for him, and they crap the bed in the
AFC title game. I also never thought this. I watched
Lamar Jackson play last year. Got you know what, he
should lose a bunch of weight. It just seems weird, like, well,
(19:06):
like why the weight loss? What happened this offseason? Always
being sick? He's got it could be I mean, maybe
he's a all right. I mean maybe maybe he's doing
it as well too. But if that's the case, uh,
he's got he's got durability concerns in my mind, like
he's got you know, come on, stop, I look at
(19:27):
it and I go Baltimore. I got third in that division.
And then I'm with Brady here. I'm down on Pittsburgh
big time. This is the worst team Mike Mike Tomlin
has coached. I think they're going to be sub five
hundred for the first time in his career. So I've
got Bengals, Brown's, Ravens Steelers in the AFC North.
Speaker 1 (19:45):
Ohio team Will Lee will be in the bottom of
the AFC as they should be. Okay, an Ohio team, yeah,
not a Western Pennsylvania team, an Ohio. Let's go.
Speaker 3 (19:56):
Let's make sure we f ate that Lee moving on
to the AFC East. Yeah, a division that's been dominated
by Bill Belichick no more. Rowd Mayo takes over New England.
So I'm gonna startottoms up here because that's where New
England starts off five and twelve. I've got in this season.
Jacoby pre Secon is to start. Eventually it'll be Drake
may Just when you compare this roster to the rest
in the division, it's not as talented, not as good.
(20:19):
We'll see how things end up, but I think there'll
be some growing paints, not only for Drake may once
he gets in there as a rookie, but also Drowd
Mayo their rookie head coach. And third and taking a
major step back is the Miami Dolphins. This had to
do with a couple of things. Won their schedule a
much more difficult for him this season, but also I
(20:41):
just feel like if you look at their defense, there's
gonna be a transition there too. In play caller, they've
got some holes there, and then up front the offensive line,
I've got some concerns. So I have the Dolphins going
seven to ten. It was the biggest surprise. I don't
feel good about it. If I'm wrong, it's probably gonna
be about the Dolphins, but I've got them going so ten,
finishing third Division, obviously missing the playoffs. Next up the
(21:03):
Buffalo Bills. I gotta go down to eight, a bit
of a step back, however, it's good enough to put
them in the seventh seed for a wild card spot
in the playoffs. And I've got the Jets at eleven
and six. It's Rogers. He's back, finally hopefully able to
stay healthy, but with their running game, the additions they
made this offseason to help protect them and that defense.
(21:23):
I think it's good enough to get the Jets to
an eleven and six record, good enough for the number one,
number three seed in the AFC playoffs.
Speaker 1 (21:33):
It's the Bills until it's not the Bills in this
division in the East, and I look at it from
the standpoint of Okay, who is going to contend for
the second position? Well, I think that it will be
the Miami Dolphins. I think that they're actually the team
(21:54):
that could challenge Buffalo for the division. I think the
Jets end up in the third spot, and clearly you
know the bottom dweller will be the New England Patriots.
Speaker 2 (22:08):
This year, it came down to the Jets and Dolphins.
For me, I'm high on Miami this year, but I
got to ride with Aaron Rodgers. We've been riding with
him all offseason. I'm going to go with Aaron Rodgers here,
and I think it could come down to the final
week of the season because I think the Dolphins and
the Jets battle it out for that Week eighteen spot.
And I'm with Brady. The schedule for Miami is not favorable.
(22:30):
The Jets have some back to back home games mixed
in throughout the course. Of the season. I trust that
Aaron Rodgers bounces back and is going to be ready
to go. This team's always been a quarterback away from
really being a contender in the AFC over the past
couple of years. Give me the Jets to win that division.
I've got Miami finishing second, and then I've got the
Bills at third. I'm going to ride with Pete Prisco
(22:52):
here in the sense that, look, they've had a bunch
of offseason losses, but I veer away from Pete in
the stands that I don't think Buffalo is going to
be the same Buffalo team that they've been throughout the
course over the past several years. There's been questions about them.
Was their best shot that thirteen seconds left in the
AFC Divisional game against the Kansas City Chiefs to get
to a Super Bowl? I think it was. I think
(23:14):
the Bills are third, and I think New England's shaping
up to be the worst team in the league by far. Dang,
there's my AFC East moving on.
Speaker 3 (23:23):
To the AFC South, a division that I don't know,
maybe we all got some questions about it. I think
this is the next closest division regards to parody. I've
got the Houston Texans, I'm not gonna say taking a
step back, but right where they finished last year ten
and seven, obviously good enough to win the division and
be the four seed and in the AFC playoffs. But I
think you look, you they're getting better getting worse. In
(23:44):
this case, if you're not improving on the ten and
seven record, maybe we're saying that they're, you know, maybe
getting a little worse. I don't know that that's the case.
Adding digs some of the pieces, but they're scheduled a
lot more difficult, So that's why I had them at
ten and seven. I think CJ. Stroud's one of the
top quarter in the NFL. He'll continue to prove that.
Next up as the Jacksonville Jaguars. I've got them finishing
(24:05):
second in the AFC South, but that's not good enough
to make the playoffs. What that means for Doug Peterson
will have to wait and see. But I do think
this team still has got some holes on defense. If
they weren't getting turnovers, they were struggling to stop folks,
and they inconsistent play on the offensive line. It's something
they addressed in the offseason, but We'll see how it
plays out. I've got the Colts at eight and nine,
(24:27):
also missing the playoffs, finishing third in the division, and
then Tennessee Titans first year head coach Brian Callahan. I
got the going six and eleven. I believe that actually
might be hitting their over on their season total over
under win loss, and they could even go a little
higher than that. I actually think they're going to surprise
some people with how competitive this team will be. However,
I still have them at the bottom of that AFC South,
which again is one of the more competitive divisions in
(24:50):
the AFC.
Speaker 1 (24:52):
Yeah, kind of fall in line with what you said.
I got used to winning it. I think they'll be
a ten plus win team Jacksonville. I think it's a
very critical year for both quarterback and coach. You know,
obviously Trevor Lawrence has not in its full capacity, lived
(25:13):
up to the potential or the hype that was surrounding
him coming out of college. He's had moments, but just
has not been that guy guy. And Doug Peterson has
not taken them to the next step from where they were.
So I think this is a pivotal year for them.
I think they come in second and then obviously the
Colts and the Tennessee Titans they battle it out for
(25:38):
third and fourth. I will say it's interesting that we
looked at the Colts as a team that had a defense,
always had a defense that would keep them in games.
That was not the case last season. I'm not sure
if their defense will be much improved from last season,
and I certainly believe that there are a lot of
questions surrounding their offense with everything. I know people are
(26:00):
howling richardson, but I got to see it before it happens.
So it's between It's between them and Titans for the
third fourth spot, and if I had to put them
place them, I would probably say I'm gonna put the
Titans at three and the Colts at four. Bringing up the.
Speaker 2 (26:18):
Rear shod con and that sweet ass mustache of his
on that big ass yacht of his. Has been running
his mouth all off season, talking about jobs, talking about expectations,
and guess what, it worked, because the Jacksonville Jaguars are
gonna win the AFC South, the tenant of the Houston
Texans are going to finish second in that division. I
(26:40):
still got him a playoff team, but I'm gonna go
Jacksonville here to bounce back off a subpar season last year.
When it comes to the third spot the Titans and
the Colts, I just trust and I know more about
Will Levis than I do Anthony Richardson. I have no
idea what we're gonna get. I think at some point
Joe Flacco is probably gonna have to step up and
play it, maybe start couple of games if Anthony Richardson
(27:02):
doesn't figure out a way to slide or play a
different brand of football. So I'm going to trust Tennessee
getting the third spot there in the AFC South. And
then I've got the Indianapolis Colts finishing dead last, and
who the hell knows what that means for Jim mursaying
company there in the South.
Speaker 1 (27:18):
All right.
Speaker 3 (27:18):
Last up in the AFC West, I've got the number
one overall seed, Kansas City Chiefs going thirteen to four. Yes,
the addition of Hollywood Brown and Xavier Worthy, I think
is going to do wonders for an offense that, let's
just call what it is. It was not consistent last season.
It was the defense that was the most consistent piece
of the Chiefs super Bowl winning team. That changes this year,
(27:40):
the big playability. We've already seen the highlights with Worthy.
We'll see more from Hollywood Brown once he gets more,
you know, back to one hundred percent healthy. Who cares
about Travis Kelcey's dating life off the field. This is
about the potential chance for a three peat, and the
Chiefs put themselves in position by winning the AFC West
and also getting that buy into the divisional round in
the playoffs. I've got the Los Angeles Chargers finishing second
(28:02):
in the division. However, going eight to nine their schedule,
combined with the fact that it's a first year, you
first year for Jim Harbaugh. Yes, he's building back this roster,
but I've got some questions as far as what it's
going to look like. Is this going to be like
this version of Michigan two point zero. If that's the case,
it may take some time. It took it some time
(28:22):
to build up the Michigan program to be able to
defeat Ohio State, win the Big Ten, and win a
national championship. At the NFL level, it's not as easy
to turn it over that fast. So if that's the case,
I think at eight to nine's not so bad first
first year they build from there. I've got Las Vegas
finishing third at five and twelve. There's some great pieces
on the roster, However, in the end, the quarterback spot
(28:44):
concerns to me the most and what this offense looks like.
And the then finally Denver at four and thirteen, rookie
quarterback Sean Payne again still pushing past Russell Wilson. The
cap hit they had to take on and take it
in order to kind of position themselves for the few Sure,
that's what this seasons about for Denver. It's not so
much right now, it's for the next few years as
(29:05):
they built around Boonix as their quarterback.
Speaker 1 (29:08):
MM in the West, it's it's gotta be the Chiefs,
and then it's it's pretty much everyone else right Like
to me, that's how I look at it. I believe
the Kansas City Chiefs are a better team than what
they were last year. That was the year to get
them in my estimation, and they were still able to
(29:29):
walk away with a Super Bowl.
Speaker 2 (29:32):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (29:33):
I just it could be more hype than anything else
surrounding Harball. He has lived up to what he's done,
but I just don't know what he's going to do
in the AFC West, And like you said, Q, I
do think it's going to take some time for him
to build up to if he is indeed going to
(29:55):
get to that point of where his teams were when
he was lead Michigan, that the Chargers are going to
need a little bit of time. So if I'm looking
at this from I just I think Denver has too
many question marks, especially at quarterback. I think that the
(30:16):
Vegas Raiders have too many question marks, especially at quarterback.
So just by default that Justin Herbert is the quarterback
that I would say is number two in that division.
Right now, I'm gonna go with the Chargers being number
two and then the Vegas Rams, and excuse me, the
(30:37):
Vegas Raiders and the Denver Broncos will fight it out
for three and four. If I'm gun to my head,
which team do I think takes third place? I really
believe that culture plays a part in a team being
able to try to start to put together and pick
up the pieces of what they have been. I think
the Raiders end up third, Denver still searching for it.
(31:01):
They finished out strong. I just don't know what they're
going to be this year. So I say they'll bring
up the rear.
Speaker 2 (31:08):
I've got the Kansas City Chiefs going back to the
playoffs as a wild card team. Bolt up. I got
the Chargers winning the AFC West. I'm going to put
my faith in Jim Arbaugh that it's a quick turnaround
and a bounce back. And I also look at it
late in the season, when you go down the stretch.
Their final two games are at New England and at
(31:29):
Las Vegas. I think the Raiders are going to be
out of it at that point. If we believe that
New England is one of the worst teams in the league,
like I do, maybe the worst team in the league.
I think that's an opportunity for LA the Chargers to
take over the AFC West. I've got Kansas City's I
mentioned finishing second. I actually like bo Nicks as a
dark horse rookie of the Year. But I also look
(31:49):
at their schedule and I go, that's brutal. I think
Denver is going to be really competitive, but their schedule
is rough, and I think the Raiders are going to
be last. I just their quarterback situation. It feels like
they were had eyes and sight set on somebody else
in the draft and then when that went sideways, they
get ended up going with Brock Bowers. It just feels
like they were the team left out of the quarterback
(32:11):
hunting quarterback picture in the draft. So I got the
Raiders finishing dead last, and I've got the Chiefs as
a wildcard team and the Chargers winning the AFC West.
Speaker 3 (32:20):
All right, now it's time for our AFC playoffs. I
mentioned earlier. I've got Case is the number one overall seed.
They've got to buy Cleveland the number two seed. They'll
be taking on Buffalo in the wildcard round. The New
York Jets is a three seed taken on Baltimore on
the Houston Texans taken on Cincinnati at home, so I
was the four seed. I've got k C obviously moving
(32:41):
on to take on the Houston Texans who beat Cincinnati.
I've got Cleveland advancing as well as the New York
Jets advancing to the divisional round and squaring up in
the AFC Championship game, the Kansas City Chiefs taking on
the Cleveland Browns.
Speaker 1 (32:55):
Right, oh wow, Chiefs taken on the Browns. I have
the Chiefs winning their division obviously. I have Buffalo winning
their division obviously, I have Baltimore winning their division, obviously,
and what is that all of them? I think that's
all for Chiefs, Bills. Okay, so let's move to the wildcard.
(33:21):
In my wildcard situation, I actually think it will be
who Cincinnati. I think Jacksonville is a team to look for,
and the Miami Dolphins. I think do I need one more?
I don't even know how many names, but those are
(33:41):
the only ones that are really relevant to me anyway.
So there you go. The rest of them, you take
your pick.
Speaker 2 (33:45):
Division winners, Stillers, Stillers will be a division wildcard Division
winners Jets, Bengals, Jaguars, Chargers, and my three wildcard teams
are going to be the Dolphins, the Texans, and the
Kansas City Chiefs. And if you want to know who's
going to represent the AFC, you got to stick around
for next hour because that's what we'll give out our
Super Bowl picks.
Speaker 3 (34:06):
So there we go.
Speaker 2 (34:07):
It is a AFC look and our AFC preview here

I'm ready to rock. Super Bowl picks coming up top
of next hour a little over ten minutes from now. Hey,
so is it the Is it the governor of Louisiana
(34:56):
that wants to bring back the live tiger for LSU games?
Is that that's what happens here? Like they're they're throwing
that around, that that the Governor of Louisiana would like
to dust that old and.
Speaker 1 (35:08):
That tiger should lead them out. That's what I think.
Speaker 2 (35:12):
This feels like a terrible idea. It feels like like
we're being It feels like a terrible idea. I mean,
you know why, Well, I don't know it seems like
it happens quite a lot here that there's a live
animal that attacks whatever trainer it's got, Like the uh,
it just doesn't doesn't seem like the most part.
Speaker 3 (35:33):
Why if you're the governor, though, are you pointing to that?
Speaker 2 (35:38):
I mean, you know he wants Mike back.
Speaker 3 (35:42):
I know, but of all the things that could be
going on in your state, you're really prioritizing, like, let's
get that, Let's get a tiger.
Speaker 2 (35:51):
Like you're hosting the super Bowl in about six months,
maybe make sure everything's dialed in so so there's no issues,
Like like.
Speaker 3 (35:57):
I just I'm not really sure or do they feel
like that is what led to the Week one loss?
And we're gonna do take the tiger to Las Vegas? Yes,
I mean there was already some there. I mean you
probably could just borred one.
Speaker 1 (36:11):
You're right about that. They should have got with Sigmund
and oh wait there yeah, wait, okay, they should have
got with somebody who does them those type of shows
and got get one of them trained tigers that do
them magic shows and and tigers and lions shows now
and brought him in.
Speaker 2 (36:29):
If we're going to do this, I got an idea.
Speaker 3 (36:32):
Okay, we got to I've got a better idea than
wherever you're going. Okay, so tell me, tell me what
what mascot? All right, should never be on the sideline
for a team like I could think of a couple.
I mean, can you imagine if someone had like a
real live grizzly you know, I think it's a Montana. Yeah,
(36:52):
imagine a real live grizzly being there on the sidelines,
them trying to control it. Why, it's like, that's the
first one that kind of comes to mind.
Speaker 2 (36:59):
Yeah, let me think.
Speaker 1 (37:03):
You know, cougars are very dangerous, so I would say
cougar is a mountain washing.
Speaker 3 (37:09):
Oh you're talking about the nitting lions.
Speaker 1 (37:10):
Yeah, okay, although I would love that though, if we
really did have one on.
Speaker 3 (37:15):
The Washington State. But I guess both.
Speaker 1 (37:17):
Yeah, there you go.
Speaker 2 (37:19):
Lee brought up a good one.
Speaker 1 (37:20):
The U A B. Dragons. See, to me, that's a mythical.
It's a mythical deal, So they wouldn't really be on
the sideline.
Speaker 3 (37:31):
Komodo have you seen Kmodo dragons? Sweet? Huge?
Speaker 1 (37:34):
Yeah, they'll bite you and and poison you.
Speaker 3 (37:36):
They'll kill you. Yeah. Yeah, imagine a Komodo dragon on
the sidelines.
Speaker 1 (37:41):
You could do that though, Yeah, people have pep kimono dragon.
Speaker 3 (37:44):
Is there anything creeper though than a leprecn ah, but
you guys have one on the sideline. A lepre I'm
not like the real one though, he's not the real one.
I'm saying the one from the movie. Hold on, cue
one from the movie. Oh okay, scary Delibrica.
Speaker 2 (38:02):
Hey, what about this idea? November ninth, l s U
hosting Alabama tiger and elephant on the sidelines together.
Speaker 1 (38:11):
I think the elephant, yes, he is, But just imagine
if that elephant just got shook up
Speaker 3 (38:17):
And then you've got Stanford standing out there with a
tree just sitting there right right, that's probably It's so appropriate,
so ugly California
