That's why I can't like all the hatred that's thrown
out of Jonas it's justified.

Speaker 4 (03:59):
I wish I could have buddy, but there you go.

Speaker 5 (04:02):

We are broadcasting live from the tirac dot Com studio
tirac dot com.

Speaker 5 (04:10):
We'll help you get there.

Speaker 6 (04:11):
That selection fast shipping for road protection at over ten
thousand recommended installers tyrac dot com. The way tire buying
should be hate them. Ask you guys just one quick
question before we dive into uh the threat that is
all of a sudden appearing in the AFC. You were
saying that people just want to escape the cold weather
and they want to get into some warmth, and they'll

(04:33):
take these vacated, these mini vacations after a bye week
or or after a Thursday night game because they got like,
you know, half a bye week. If you if you're
so cool, why don't you just stay inside. You got
a nice house, turn the heat on and stay inside.
You don't have to deal with airport.

Speaker 1 (04:50):
You start getting traveling, start getting like headaches and stuff
like that because your body dries out, your your skin
gets ashy, like what oh bro, when you get too
much generated you know, heat in a crib depending on
where that heat is coming from you get all kinds
of jacked up, bro like I used to get. I

(05:10):
used to get my cocoa butter flowing everywhere.

Speaker 7 (05:13):
Broah shade butter, coco but people behind like Willie Walker
Chocolate factory line cocoa butter.

Speaker 4 (05:20):
You ain't lying, Yeah, you ain't lying. You'd be all
the way.

Speaker 7 (05:23):
You'll even find some of the white dudes, all of
skin white dudes be using that.

Speaker 4 (05:27):
Yeah, d I need some of that.

Speaker 5 (05:29):
Get chopped up, just like everybody else.

Speaker 4 (05:31):
Die.

Speaker 1 (05:32):
Yes, I mean Jonas wouldn't know, but no, because it
don't it don't. I mean it's cold right now, and
it's in the forties. It's like forty eight forty seven
or something like this morning, and I'm sitting there. I
was shivering this morning. I had my heat seater on,
my seat heater on. I had my my heat on
like seventy eight, and the ride I got space heater

(05:53):
on right now freezing. I can't even imagine, Like I've
seen all this snow going on on the East. I'm
trying to decide, like can I make this flight? Like
is this flight really going to happen for me? Am
I going to make it? In what flight you know
to State College this week? Who they got this week?

Speaker 4 (06:11):
Marylin, Maryland, Yeah, Marland.

Speaker 6 (06:16):
Yeah, I don't know the scened heats in a car
or heated seats in a car.

Speaker 1 (06:21):
Not well, I mean you would have to have yeah,
you would have to have them to have an opinion
on them.

Speaker 6 (06:28):
Jon, Well, I had them one time when Okay, so
hold on, guys, when we went to when we were
at Keenland, I got a rental car from the Louisville
Airport and it freaked me out because they were just
already warm, and I didn't know what to do with it.
So I was trying to turn it. I could never
figure out how to turn them off. It's just a

(06:49):
little too comfortable for me. I like to be a
little bit gritty. That's just the way I operate. And
so when you're back there and you're going to see
a horse race, you know, I just want to do
a kind things like I have it at home. Six
three hundred thousand plus miles and that's what I got.

Speaker 4 (07:06):
Just a man of the people, man, just a man
of the people I am.

Speaker 5 (07:09):
Yeah, that's all I am.

Speaker 6 (07:12):
All right, So let's get into this discussion here from
the ti Raq dot com Studios ti Raq dot com
will help you get there, an unmatched selection, fast free shipping,
free road has a protection and over ten thousand recommended installers.
Tire rack dot com the way tire buying should be.
So Saquon Barkley, we've had the conversation all of a sudden,
he's third when it comes to most valuable player in

(07:34):
the NFL, behind Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen. So he's
in the conversation a guy who's not going to be
in the conversation. But if you just look at the
difference he's made to that team when he's in the
lineup and not in the lineup, Tua Tongue of Iloa
might be the actual most valuable player to his team
because they are with him in the lineup. Bro, Like,

(07:54):
they're not different, and I'm not. I don't I don't
know if they'll surpass Denver. It might be too little,
too late for Miami, but it is a night and
day difference between what that team looks like with him
at quarterback and when they're not a quarterback, and they're
a legitimate good team and a threat to maybe make
a run with this whole thing in the AFC, and
I hope it happens for the Miami Dolphins.

Speaker 1 (08:16):
You I don't think it's too late. It feels like
it could be too late. Yeah, I mean, if I
was betting that would be the that would be the
way I would go. It's a feel good story that
they might make it close, but it could have been
too little, too late that they are now starting to
heat up the way that they are.

Speaker 4 (08:34):
It's weird man, the NFL dot com site, you know
this playoff picture.

Speaker 7 (08:37):
With the probabilities, it's not even updated after yesterday yet,
well why.

Speaker 5 (08:43):
Would it be. I mean it's you know, there's seven.

Speaker 7 (08:45):
O'clock on a Monday morning, Like you can't I guess
because of Monday night football.

Speaker 4 (08:49):
They don't want to do the probabilities. You have to
wait till Tuesday.

Speaker 7 (08:52):
But coming into this week, right they had a fifteen
percent chance Denver's still ahead of them. However, with the
results of yesterday, I'm not sure anything really changes. As
I've said before, it's look, yesterday, it was kind of
tough because we get like like half the games or
double digit wins almost that. It just it feels like

(09:12):
there's you know, and maybe this is just this season.
Maybe it's an outlier. Maybe I'm just now getting to
pay attention to and it wasn't like this in the
previous years. But it feels like there are some teams
who are in it, and there are some teams who
have been it very apparent they're tanking. I mean, we
talked about the Giants earlier. That was one that was like,
all right, you have a Tampa Bay team that's like
trying to play for a playoff spot. They've got like

(09:35):
a coin flip basically at this point the season if
they can make it in especially the way the Commanders
have fallen off through the last four games.

Speaker 4 (09:42):
But you look at the overall standings, it's just it's tough. Man.
Some of these games are really really tough to watch. Yeah, man, listen.

Speaker 1 (09:52):
When I saw Jonas posted yesterday, I was like, yeah,
it doesn't you know, it doesn't look good. But he
was like, man, this is this this here? Let me
let me quote you. I'm gonna quote you.

Speaker 5 (10:07):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (10:08):
Let's see, let's keep going.

Speaker 8 (10:10):
Uh uh, where's it a way up there?

Speaker 5 (10:21):
I thought I scared everybody away yesterday with it.

Speaker 4 (10:23):
I want to quote you.

Speaker 1 (10:24):
But uh, and oh, these early Yeah, these early games
are dog well.

Speaker 5 (10:33):
They were there.

Speaker 6 (10:34):
You go, look the Vikings Bears game got close, but
that wasn't that close. And whatever Dallas and and Washington was.
You know, we'll get to that later because somebody is
responsible for how that thing has falling apart. But I just, uh,
I look at it and I go, that's just a
bad slate of games. And there were six teams on
a bye week. But that's bad football. Like there's bad teams.

(10:58):
And at least Miami's got their core back back and
they're trying to make things a little bit interesting.

Speaker 5 (11:02):
But man, New England stinks like they're not good.

Speaker 6 (11:07):
And then you've got Drowd Mayo afterwards, did you hear
drod So. Drowd Mayo was talking about just the team's performances.
They got annihilated by Miami yesterday, and he had this
to say.

Speaker 4 (11:18):
Look, it's always look, most of those guys cross the
white lines. There's nothing I can do for him. There's
nothing any coach can do for him. Once they cross
the white line.

Speaker 7 (11:24):
It's my job to continue to prepare not only them,
but our coaches to go out here and play better football.

Speaker 6 (11:30):
So you guys are on your own have fun out there.
So it's just you just look around the NFL. There's
bad teams left and right. I mean the race to
get the number one pick. Who they will know that?
Who knows how that's going to shake up? The Raiders
are not a good football team. Gardner Minshew broke his
collarbone yesterday. But that's why I look at Miami, I
look at Denver, and I go I don't think either

(11:51):
of those teams are legitimate contenders in the AFC, but
at least they're interesting towards the bottom of the pack
of fringe playoff team slash playoff teams.

Speaker 5 (12:02):
They're good.

Speaker 1 (12:02):
They're on to move. They're on the move. I don't
I don't know what that means and totality, but they are.

Speaker 7 (12:09):
Let me ask you this, if it means this, does
that make it worse on Las Vegas for how the
draft went, how the season's gone, like it that's in
your division? They were want to pick ahead? Yeah, I
just I think I mean because because because one of
a couple of things either happened, either got duped in
regards to who they were going to take Denver is

(12:31):
going to take in that spot potentially, or how that
the you know the pick draft is going to go
with the quarterbacks, or you at a bad evaluation, like
you overlooked that guy and then try to go make
a look or you know, make it work for that
guy and getting to take a guy like bo Nix.
He looks good, man, he looks great, he looks I mean,
if if we're gonna again go back over this rookie class,

(12:53):
I would look Caleb. I thought might have played his
best game, even though it's in a losing effort, made
some special throws, special has no run support, and still
goes out there and finds ways of like being competitive games.
Jaden and Washington. It was a hot star man, but
he was. Yeah, but it's it's it's it's not what
it was in the beginning of the season. Like I

(13:14):
would say, he's starting to kind of fall back a bit.
I mean, they lost through the last four. It's not
it's not the same effectiveness.

Speaker 4 (13:20):
As what what they've had. That lost yesterday was an indictment.

Speaker 1 (13:23):
The last two. I would give him a pass just
because they're good teams.

Speaker 4 (13:27):
But well they're rookies too.

Speaker 7 (13:28):
I'm not like, you know, I'm just saying that if
you were to go back and look at how teams,
you know, graded the quarterbacks and slotted them. I think
a lot of people passed up on bo Nix and
he has come out and he's looked every bit the
part of a guy that should be up for Rookie
of the Year.

Speaker 1 (13:45):
So I think it comes back to the conversation we
had before about if Caleb Williams went to Kansas City,
would he be what Patrick Mahomes is right now, versus
if Patrick Mahomes went to the Bears.

Speaker 4 (13:57):
It'd be like, y'all, I messed that up too.

Speaker 1 (14:00):
I think Sean Payton had a clear idea of what
he had in bo Nicks if he were able to
get him, and felt as though this was like this
was going to be the ultimate poker hand to be
able to get him at the pick that he did,
and it.

Speaker 5 (14:16):
Worked, he said.

Speaker 6 (14:17):
Sean Payton said in August, I think he was talking
with Peter Schrager and he said in August that they
were worried about the Raiders moving up. So he actually
called the Raiders and asked them if they were interested
in moving up and the Raiders said no, to try
and sort of push them off towards Yeah, listen, maybe
they're not in the looking for a quarterback because they're

(14:40):
thinking about moving back, and then they ended up pulling
the trigger and they landed bon Nicks one pick before.
I mean, brock Bowers has been great too, But you know,
it's just a completely different conversation between the two teams.

Speaker 7 (14:51):
It's again, yeah, it's not like it was a BADI. Okay,
that's not the conversation we're having.

Speaker 4 (15:05):
They wanted a quarterback.

Speaker 1 (15:06):
Like, let's be clear, there's no debating the fact that
Antonio Pears.

Speaker 5 (15:14):
I get you. I'm just saying it's not like type
of somebody throwing.

Speaker 4 (15:18):
The ball though.

Speaker 7 (15:19):
Yeah, dude, like that's the type of mess up that
like literally you're probably not keeping your job after.

Speaker 1 (15:26):
And that's sad because again, it was not a military
secret that this group wanted to get a quarterback. They
wanted to move up to get a quarterback. They they
whether they had the capital to be able to do it,
what one reason or another that they needed to try
to do it to get a quarterback. But going into

(15:46):
the season not having a defined guy that could be
the starting guy, even though I know, I know, we'll
say Minshew started off fairly well in the year. I
get that, but he's still a professional backup. And to me,
my if my first thought was I'm the new head

(16:08):
coach here and the one thing we need to do
that's imperative to us having an opportunity to compete just
in our conference, just here in our conference, in our division.
We need to get a quarterback, no doubt about it.
Hands down. These guys that we got O'Connell. You know,
oh we brought Hi Minshew. Okay, these guys can battle

(16:30):
it out for second, but we need a guy. We
need a guy that the team can get behind. We
need a guy that this city can get behind, the
fan base can get behind. We need a guy and
they did not do it. Now, who do you hold
accountable for that when you know that the head coach
made it abundantly clear that that's what they were looking for,

(16:51):
and you didn't do it in the draft.

Speaker 6 (16:53):
So that's why I asked the question about Michael Pennix,
because was it once Michael Penix went to the Falcons
at eight?

Speaker 1 (17:00):
I think they were going for higher than Michael Pennix's. Yeah,
I think they were trying to be aggressive enough. I
don't even know that Michael Pennix would have been like,
this is who we wanted, Like this is what we're
going with, this is who we wanted. I don't even
know that he fit the bill for that and what
they were trying to do in the draft.

Speaker 5 (17:20):
If Michael Pennix was there, would they have taken him
over brock.

Speaker 1 (17:23):
Battley, I don't. I don't have the answer for that.
I don't have the answer for that, which means that
at the end of the day, if Michael Pennix is there,
then that means bo Nix is there. And then it
comes back to the original conversation, like somebody undervalued bo Nicks.

Speaker 5 (17:40):
Do you just call Antonio Pierce right now and get
the answer? What are you waiting around her? Let's let's
stop farting around here, and gets a man.

Speaker 1 (17:45):
McCarthy gets hurt, So we don't know the sample size
of McCarthy. Pennix goes to Atlanta, but he's not playing
much because Cousins is playing. Knowing what we know now,
changed question. And I know we did this before because
I brought up Erlhacer. Knowing what we know now, would
you have taken bow Knicks before McCarthy or Pinnix.

Speaker 5 (18:07):
Yeah, knowing what we know now, Q.

Speaker 4 (18:11):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (18:11):
I mean, like, here's the interesting thing about the evaluations
of quarterbacks. If you were in a base last year's
draft on the tape and then I actually think you
could go back through some of the most recent years
and make this claim. If you just went off who
performed the best on film, it would have been Jaden
Daniels number one. You would have had Michael Pennox number two,

(18:35):
Bow Knicks number three, Caleb Williams number four. That's how
you would have made the selections in this past year's draft.
It's just purely based on tape for the most recent season. Now,
if you want to go back to the entire body
of work, look at everything. You know, Caleb jump up
a little higher. Obviously at a Heisman Trophy winning season.
You know, Bo Nicks the past two years at at

(18:56):
you know, both Oregon Washington.

Speaker 4 (18:57):
Same thing with Pennix. They both played really well. So
I'm not sure that would have changed a ton.

Speaker 7 (19:02):
Penis, you know, probably would have still been ahead of
Nicks slightly, but it would have benefited Caleb Williams more
than anyone else.

Speaker 4 (19:11):
The point I'm basically making is.

Speaker 7 (19:12):
That sometimes these these teams when they're evaluating a lot
of the prospects, they kind of look past the most
important thing.

Speaker 4 (19:21):
It's like, well, what they do most recently.

Speaker 7 (19:22):
You're like how they look on the field, how they perform,
Like let's not overthink this whole thing, like how they
look playing football. So and I know there might be
some jajent McCarthy fans are like, hey, man, like you
want a national championship? He did, He did, but he
wasn't asked to do as much. And he delivered when
he was asked to and and he made that team
a winning football team during his time as a starting

(19:44):
quarterback in Michigan. But the rest had a lot more
on tape that you could feel a little more confident
as far as making that selection. And obviously McCarthy's hurt,
so we don't know what he's gonna end up being.
But either way, like that's how I think the draft
would have been slotted, if you're purely taking a base
on the tape from this their last year in college.

Speaker 6 (20:05):
I mean, you know, there could be a future Hall
of Famer looking for you know, an opportunity.

Speaker 1 (20:11):
Daniel Jones is available right now. You know he's going
to clear waivers today, right, he's going to be available
if you're the if you're the see to me, I
think it's like, is it too late? I don't want
to take I don't want to risk bringing in a
situation where I can be judged off of a miss

(20:34):
if I bring Like if you win. If you bring
them in and it works out, that's great. But if
I'm a coach or a GM and I bring in
a guy like Daniel Jones who has potential, has shown
that they can throw the ball and can run an offense,
it just didn't work out the way that it was
supposed to in the place he's leaving. If I bring
him in now at this late in a juncture of

(20:55):
the season and it doesn't work out, I'm losing my job.
I'd rather lose with what I have. If we're having
a s season right now, if we're having a bad
season right now, I'd rather lose than to try to

(21:16):
bring in a guy like Daniel Jones that's available and
bring him in and risk losing after bringing him in.

Speaker 6 (21:24):
Hey, Brady, what's the drop off between Shador Sanders and
the next guy in the draft?

Speaker 4 (21:30):
Oh?

Speaker 7 (21:30):
Again, it's tough because if you're basing it purely on
the tape. It's not as big of a drop off
to cam Ward in my opinion, Like I think how
i'd view it based on what's happened so far this season,
Shador Sanders has one cam ward is two, and some
people might debate that. But the thing I appreciate and
I give Shador Sanders a leg up on cam Ward

(21:52):
is he's running more of an NFL style system. You know,
Pat Schummer's roots go back to the NFL, and the
concepts things are asking him to do. The things they're
asking him to do with in the offense and even
how he plays from the pocket are more what he's
gonna be asked to do once he gets to the
NFL level. Cam Warden has some He's got the phenomenal

(22:13):
buility to stay poised make plays he could make all
the throws he obviously can create too. But as much
as he makes these incredible plays, there's also these plays where.

Speaker 4 (22:23):
You're going, what the hell was that? You know? I
mean there was literally one play this week and.

Speaker 7 (22:31):
To the beginning of the play when he got rushed,
I was like, Oh, he made like a little move,
and I was like that's gonna be this is gonna
be something special. And then as he flipped the ball
to I believe it was this tight end. Maybe he
kind of wasn't looking and the ball just kind of
floated right past him and went to the defender to
make an interception.

Speaker 4 (22:49):
I'm like, oh, that went from.

Speaker 7 (22:50):
Like what could have been a highlight reel play to
a highlight reel for the other team. And you see
that at times, or you see these plays where you go,
what the hell was that like early Josh in his
NFL career. Yeah, kinda Again, you could probably find some
other college football references if you want, but you know,
I know you watch NFL exclusively. So the whole point
is Cam is right up there with them, and then

(23:13):
it's probably Carson Beck, which I think at the beginning
of the season, Carson Beck to me was gonna be
the number one guy the way he finished last.

Speaker 4 (23:19):
Year to heading in the draft.

Speaker 7 (23:22):
If you just showcased what he did the second half
of last year at Georgia for the entirety of the season,
his season has not gone that way for him, And
if you comb through it, it's not all on him.
I'm not trying to the protection has been shoddy at times,
but mostly it's been the receivers not helping him out.
But that being said, he's probably been the one that
I think has taken the biggest hit. But those are

(23:44):
your top three, and I would say because of the
way the season's gone for Beck so.

Speaker 4 (23:48):
Far, there's a lot of football left. He would be
in the third position. But think about this.

Speaker 7 (23:53):
I mean, if they go on to run and then
making the playoff, that's gonna be our last you know,
I'm going to recall a recollection of how he played
this season if they end up winning it all and
he plays really well throughout the playoffs.

Speaker 4 (24:06):
So again, a lot of football left we played. That's
probably the order right now.

Speaker 1 (24:09):
The Doors showed a lot of toughness this past weekend.
I'll tell you that, buddy. It's every week.

Speaker 4 (24:14):
It's not. It's not if you watch them, they was
getting hit almost every single time. Man, he's getting hit,
and Travis Hunter continues to prove that he should win
the Heisman.

Speaker 5 (24:26):
Jack Well Jaggs Giants Raiders.

Speaker 7 (24:28):
You here's the hard thing about yeah, sorry, just went
back in NFL. Here's the hard thing about that is
he gets so mad, dude, Dude, I watch college football.
It's like, all right, Geny's gone off to this is
this is gonna be as tight of a race I
think for the Heisman as we've had. I don't think

(24:49):
this is like a runaway. I think this is gonna
be a lot tighter than people realize. Boys, he clinched
the Mount West Championship game. They clinched like the Mount
West Championship game they'll be hosting, And so Colorado.

Speaker 4 (25:02):
Now could be in the outside looking in. Yeah.

Speaker 7 (25:05):
Well, if you listen, you're saying like he's gonna have
an extra opportunity because if all the favorites win this
week in the Big Twelve, which we can go through
that scenario at some point, it's gonna be Iowa State
in Arizona State, which no one would have foresaw three
two weeks ago.

Speaker 4 (25:18):
Arizona State got with it this weekend Camp Scataboo.

Speaker 1 (25:22):
Man.

Speaker 5 (25:23):
Yeah, so uh yeah, So Raiders, Giants, Jacks top three?

Speaker 7 (25:28):
There you in the NFL draft? Yeah, what are the
odds are there? What does DraftKings have the NFL odds?

Speaker 6 (25:36):

Speaker 6 (30:08):
Two Pros and a Cup of Joe, Fox Sports Radio,
LeVar Arrington, Brady Quinn, Jonas Knox with you here coming
up fifteen minutes from now here from the tire rack
dot Com studios. We are going to have a Monday tradition.
It's the FSR I R here on Fox Sports Radio.
That'll be yours here. Over the weekend, we saw absolute carnage,
absolute chaos in the world of college football. We saw

(30:30):
a complete beating by the Ohio State buck Eyes. I mean, dang, dude,
that game was over.

Speaker 4 (30:38):
Brother, well like the fact it could have been worse
at halftime.

Speaker 6 (30:43):
And then you've got Will Howard putting out a cigarette
on the sideline.

Speaker 5 (30:47):
You know, I'm not quite sure what that was about.
I don't know what significant.

Speaker 7 (30:50):
What's weird to me is in this college football landscape,
everyone seemed to get upset about the end of the game, which,
again Trevion Henderson thoughtful young man was trying to kind
of coach up the scenarios. The problem is, I think
there still would have been time. You know, he was
trying to milk the clock and all that with the

(31:11):
lead that they had. Unfortunately, in that situation, that's not
really a first down get down, you know, to run
the clock out because they still would have gotten Indiana
would have gotten the football back. So the intent was
to try to take more time off the clock. In
that way you don't have to worry about them ever
getting the ball back coming back into the football game.

Speaker 4 (31:29):
But he still get just ran in the touchdown.

Speaker 7 (31:31):
I mean, it wasn't like Indiana wasn't gonna be able
to come back regardless the way that game went in,
particularly in the second half. But everyone seemed to be
upset about it because Signetty wasn't using timeouts and Ohio
State ends up running.

Speaker 4 (31:44):
In for the score. Which look go back through the season.

Speaker 7 (31:49):
Okay, there's plenty of examples of coaches keeping their players
in longer than they normally do, running up scores more
than they normally would. I mean, we were there for
Indiana Nebraska. Signetti never took his foot off the gas
in that game. They beat the living crap out of Nebraska,
and even late in the games are still trying to

(32:10):
run it in and run up the score. They weren't
trying to run out the clock. So when that happens
to you, you can't be upset about it when you
did it to someone else. And also when you've got
an outspoken coach, it's gonna happen like it's gonna come
back to bite you. You're gonna have bad days, You're
gonna have games where your team doesn't play quite as well.
And it's one of the reasons why, like I kept
telling them, like the guys I work with all week

(32:30):
I'm like, just be a blowout, like we can't. You know,
we're supposed to say that on TV because we want
people to tune in and watch, and a lot of
people tune in to watch most watched game of the weekend.
But I sat there and go like, I don't see it.
I don't see how this game is close. There's a
huge mismatch between the trenches, between the skilled players, all
of it.

Speaker 4 (32:47):
So there you have it.

Speaker 7 (32:49):
But now now the real question is is Indiana still
a part of the conversation for staying in for the
college football playoff?

Speaker 4 (32:57):
You know, I thought it was.

Speaker 1 (33:00):
It was an interesting weekend in college football because there's
the you know, the debates are are raging now, you know,
and apparently it's now become a scope that that Penn
State has been put under. Not not saying because it's
my alma mater, just saying because that's really what's what's

(33:20):
out there being discussed is and.

Speaker 7 (33:22):
Can I throw out this Penn State. Minnesota is coming
off the buy like we all know how hard it
is when teams have two weeks to prepare.

Speaker 4 (33:29):
It was at home.

Speaker 7 (33:31):
It's a big moment for them to be able to
knock off a Penn State team that again, the end
of the season, you have all kinds of different, you know,
things happening, and it's not like Minnesota's a bad football team,
They're not. So I looked at that master and I
was like, yeah, I would one hundred percent take the
points in Minnesota. This is that that typical game where
you're like, oh, Penn State, you know, James Franklin is

(33:53):
his record verse unranked opponents. I'm like, dude, it's it's
not that narrative. This is going to be a street fight.
And you know, Penn State was to pull out, and
you got to give them credit for that.

Speaker 1 (34:02):
You know, you look at their their defense, and if
you're not paying attention, you wouldn't know that that is
one of the most stout defenses and maybe all in
all of college college football. I mean, they're they're pretty
dog gone good. And what it is that they've been

(34:23):
able you know what they've been able to do, and
and so to me, I'm coming into it. If you
if you're looking at them, you knew that they were
going to have their hands full going into an away
game and playing against a team that had extra time
to prepare for them, but also already had boasted a

(34:45):
stout defense coming into the game.

Speaker 4 (34:48):
PJ.

Speaker 1 (34:48):
Fleck Is is one of the more elite coaches that
you'll find at the college level.

Speaker 5 (34:54):
So I thought it was a quality win and and
I go back to by the way.

Speaker 7 (34:59):
To further the point what you said about defense, Twelfth
overall in the country for total defense, fifteenth for scoring defense.

Speaker 1 (35:06):
They're pretty I mean, that's a pretty impressive. Man, it's
oppressive group of dudes. And so when you look at
the total landscape of what's going on in college football
right now, I almost look at it from the standpoint
of guys are playing teams that are in front of them.

(35:26):
You're in conference play, and your conference is your conference.
And so to me, when I look at the victories
versus the losses, like who won, who shouldn't have won?
Or did you beat them by enough points? And all
those things like that, I mean, to me, I would
have rather watched. I would have rather have wanted to

(35:47):
watch a Minnesota Gophers team, just as an example, played
the way that they played against a Penn State. You
don't just lay down to them, you know, and let
them just run over top of you. I would have
rather saw the way as played against a Colorado team
that was fighting. And what man, they look pretty good.

(36:08):
They looked pretty good. They're able to run the ball.
They was thugging on defense, I mean, they was putting
Shador's hate and like Shadordan then pushed the referee.

Speaker 4 (36:17):
They didn't.

Speaker 7 (36:18):
Oh, how about that they are the first team this
is in college football history, since they've come out with rankings,
to have a losing record and to beat three straight
top twenty five teams.

Speaker 4 (36:30):
It's never happened before. That's crazy, that it's nuts, I
mean the.

Speaker 7 (36:34):
Long history of college football and KU and then this
has been the team we thought they were going to
be at the beginning of the season, and unfortunately it
didn't lead to their team success. But now they're able
to play spoiler. It's leading to what's been by far,
it's been the best conference to fall all year. The
Big Twelve has been the musical chairs of college football
as far as.

Speaker 4 (36:54):
Who's in the lead any given week. And now we
find you know what will be Pete.

Speaker 7 (36:59):
Prisco's Arizona State Sun Devils somehow find themselves right in
the thick of it, and they can't even get off
the field without a bunch of controversy like this past
week's game.

Speaker 6 (37:10):
And by the way, Kansas almost be Kansas State the
week before that, so it's almost four straight weeks that
they've beaten a top twenty five team. And then to
see Arizona State and I don't even I don't know
what the hell was happening there, but I and I
texted you guys, I was rooting for Byu to throw
that hell Mary and win the game just because we
turn it over to Pete on a Tuesday and let

(37:32):
him air out as Alma mater.

Speaker 5 (37:33):
Because and the Big Twelve.

Speaker 4 (37:35):
Was that like four yards short on the Hail Mary,
and it was close the guy caught it.

Speaker 6 (37:40):
The Big Twelve tiebreakers, like I got through the first two,
I'm good, Like, well, I'll just let this play out
after this.

Speaker 7 (37:46):
One, yeah, I was like, honestly, So, the simplest way
of explaining it is, if all the favorites win this weekend,
it'll be Arizona State versus Iowa State. Now that includes
like Colorado being a part of that three team tying
scenario because it would assume that Colorado wins. But basically

(38:10):
that's how it would play out, Arizona State, Iowa State.
If all the favorites win, we'll be playing for the
Big Twelve championship if it helps. Obviously, if Colorado loses
or Arizona State loses. If Arizona State loses, then actually
would be Iowa State and BYU, assuming that BYU wins,
and if Iowa State loses, it be Arizona State versus BYU.

(38:32):
But if BYU loses, and then if Texas Tech beats
West Virginia Rist, then if Baylor beats Kansas and Cincinnati
beats TCU, Colorado versus Iowa State, like it is there
is I'm not sure if this is like a good
or bad thing. I just think there's no other conference
that can make this claim going into the last weekend

(38:53):
of the season. And for all the people out there
who's still in their soapbox and said, oh, we.

Speaker 4 (38:59):
Can't expanding to take away from the regular season, Oh no.

Speaker 7 (39:03):
It's like, dude, this has been by far and away
the most awesome season in regards to and anticipation.

Speaker 4 (39:09):
For the playoffs. It has.

Speaker 6 (39:10):
It's turned into each conference needs their own playoff to
determine who's eligible for the playoff.

Speaker 7 (39:15):
Now, I'd argue it this way. The playoffs have already started,
they started a few weeks ago. And and to your point,
Jona's like, it's almost like your conference play is essentially
the playoffs, especially in a conference like the Big Twelve
where there's so much parity and there's been so many upsets,
So like I sit there and say, well, it's probably

(39:35):
gonna be Arizona State, Iowa State, but I didn't think
about it. And I go, well, yeah, but every single
week we've thought that in the Big twelve, it's never
worked out the way we thought.

Speaker 4 (39:45):
So hold on to your you know, yeah, ever, yeah, yeah,
hold on good point.

Speaker 5 (39:50):
It's gonna be fun Week two pros and a cup
of Joe.

Speaker 6 (39:52):
Here on Fox Sports Radio, LaVar Arrington, Brady Quinn, Jonas
Knox with you coming up next here though it is
a Monday tradition, we report any injury, these issues, ailments
from a long weekend. It's the FSR I R and
it yours next here on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 5 (40:06):
You know what else is becoming a tradition, Jonas?

Speaker 4 (40:09):
Using your rapid radio.

Speaker 1 (40:11):
That's right, as the holidays quickly approach, why not have
a walkie talkie like rapid radios to be able to
keep in touch with your family and.

Speaker 4 (40:22):
You're aging parents? Lee?

Speaker 5 (40:23):
Do you copy?

Speaker 4 (40:25):
Lee? Are you there? Yeah?

Speaker 1 (40:29):
We have the rapid radio up to the microphone right now.
As you can see, Uh, Lee has not come in over.
It's all right, you know, Oh, there you go.

Speaker 9 (40:38):
There you go.

Speaker 4 (40:39):
There you go.

Speaker 6 (40:39):
Hey, Lee, we're doing a rapid radio spot. What do
you think about rapid radios?

Speaker 5 (40:43):
Baby, rapid radio does a job.

Speaker 4 (40:50):
All right, Well, there you go, and now you've heard
it and there you go.

Speaker 1 (40:57):
Getting uh uh uh oh. Well we'll cut that part
of it off and we'll keep that for a private conversation.
You know why, because well that's what rapid radios are for.
They're one hundred percent private when you're talking to family
and friends. As you can see, we use them here
on the show. And you know what, is great communication

(41:18):
device for your kids wherever they're going to be. Keeps
them off of the Internet and off of the screen.
And it also is for your aging parents because well
they don't have to deal with a closed lock screen
or anything like that on a cell phone. And hey,
they're ready to go right out of the box. Like
I said, we use them here. It's true walkie talking ease.

(41:38):
But the connectivity and to technology of today, the rapid radios, well,
they work effectively because they're on a nationwide LT network.
And as you can see, we were able to get
Lee in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

Speaker 4 (41:51):
That's right.

Speaker 1 (41:51):

Speaker 4 (43:42):
Now we don't have lead to lead on here.

Speaker 6 (43:44):
Huh. Well, we did hear from him on the rapid
radiosas alive.

Speaker 5 (43:48):
Oh is away.

Speaker 4 (43:49):
It didn't sound good either though.

Speaker 5 (43:51):
He said that then, I mean he's in greet so
it's a little before seven am.

Speaker 4 (43:56):
Who's screaming at him? Todd?

Speaker 6 (43:58):
Todd was trying to sleep and Lee said that he's
got a bunch of rubber duckies.

Speaker 1 (44:05):
We'll beat your ass. Hey, hey, look though we saw
him fishing them out, Yeah, we saw him.

Speaker 6 (44:12):
I didn't know that was a thing in Green Bay
where their claw machines are just filled with little mini.

Speaker 1 (44:17):
Rubber ducky which is what is But the fact that
Lee was so like dowed in on getting these little
rubber duckies, this was like amazing to me, he said,
Was it amazing or also pathetic? How about I'll say
amazingly between No, No, amazingly pathetic.

Speaker 5 (44:38):
It's pathetic as people.

Speaker 7 (44:39):
Think I'm the a hole for being like, oh, Lee,
you need to get it together and stuff. But in
all seriousness, like we know Lee pretty well, like that's
that was part of his day. He checked off getting
a bunch of rubber little duckies and has with.

Speaker 4 (44:52):
A kids machine.

Speaker 6 (44:53):
By the way, you know, the last time I was
with somebody who got a rubber ducky. It was my
son who's three in a pumpkin patch, least got over
thirty years on him, and he's ripping out rubber duckies
from a clumb I.

Speaker 5 (45:06):
Mean, but pumped up though, like and then he couldn't
see it. He puts his hands.

Speaker 4 (45:12):
Uber ducky.

Speaker 1 (45:13):
He felt like the rubber ducky wasn't coming down. The
little little delivery shoots, so he started like panicing, like
who cares if you got it? And you you got
it in the claw hand and it went down like great,
you got it, like walk away, Yeah, like he wonted
his rubber ducky.

Speaker 4 (45:29):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (45:29):
He said that where did he store all of those
rubber duckies while he was out? Well, he said that
all that we can see are up on the nightstand.
He's got them on the night stand there.

Speaker 4 (45:39):
Did he take a picture? I don't know.

Speaker 6 (45:41):
He just when I was rapid radioing him during the break,
he said that he they made it out of the stadium.
They went over to a place called the Tundra, which
is like a dive bar. I think nearby. He says,
he thinks they either beat all the packers, fans or
there was just nobody left over by the time they
got there, and they just proceeded to get annihilated again.

Speaker 1 (46:02):
So his flight's not till four, so he's got plenty
of time to have a get more, not sober up
and get ready for the show tonight, just to get more.
Oh god, no, yeah, faded more. You know life sometimes man,
it's just you know, you start to look at how
people have to live their lives or want to live

(46:22):
their lives, and what what you got to prioritize, Like
it's kind of interesting. I went out on a date
this this weekend. You I did twice. In fact, took
Marley out too. Took my oldest daughter out after she
she started her first game for l m U volleyball.
So we went and had a good time.

Speaker 4 (46:42):
I got I had.

Speaker 1 (46:43):
I got a touch of fade because I haven't been
drinking as much, So I got a touch a fade
Friday and Saturday. Not not fully faded, not a leave fad.
I just got a touch a fade. It was good though.

Speaker 6 (46:55):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (46:56):
Sure she had to drive home on Friday night. Did
you get after the all?

Speaker 1 (47:00):
No, you didn't been to Elbow. You just Pepper, a
couple of beers in was Chicago lose with with little
Man Tang.

Speaker 4 (47:11):
Yeah, you know how we do it.

Speaker 5 (47:12):
Cereal alright, Cereal get Thanksgiving coming up.
