today or in general, I don't know. I'm trying not
to pay attention. We turned this off pretty quick yesterday.

Speaker 4 (00:53):
Oh yeah, it's got the acts. This didn't even make
it to this point of the song. Oh did not.

Speaker 3 (01:04):
I'd rather talk about Jerry Jones and the David Mulo
Getasaga than listen to this.

Speaker 4 (01:14):
What up sticks? Yeah? Yeah? Are you vibing? Yeah? Yeah?

Speaker 5 (01:22):

until nine am Eastern time, six o'clock Pacific. It is
the final weekend of the NFL preseason. There's choices, decisions

(01:44):
being made. One of those is the Cleveland Browns now
Shodor's gonna get playing time, correct, like he's going to
get some burn time, as Brady Quinn calls it. But
is Dylan Gabriel going to get in the burn time
in this game? Are we just going sor.

Speaker 4 (02:00):
Why would he not? I don't know he's healthy, right,
I mean, I'm assuming Canny Pickett's not playing, So.

Speaker 3 (02:07):
Okay, who else you gonna play? Honestly, gonna give the
entire game? Huntley, I mean he's he's an afterthought. He
probably will get some burn time at the end.

Speaker 4 (02:16):
But Jalen Milrose playing the entire game, that's burn time. Well, yeah,
until something happens and you have to have someone else
come in. He means, now, that's burn time.

Speaker 3 (02:26):
I'm just saying, you've you've got to be prepared to
play a couple guys. You want to see both, you
drafted both, you know they'll both play.

Speaker 5 (02:35):
So the story that people wanted to know yesterday with
Shadoor Sanders was his thoughts on Dylan Gabriel's entertainers or competitors' comments.

Speaker 4 (02:46):
And uh, here was Shador yesterday in Cleveland.

Speaker 6 (02:49):
Honestly, I don't.

Speaker 7 (02:50):
I don't even think about nothing. I don't think about
anything if it's not words or anything. You know, at
this point, can't do anything to me, you know, I know,
you know, to God put the ability in the power
within me to not even think about nobody else's comments,
not care it is what it is.

Speaker 4 (03:06):
I spoke with him.

Speaker 7 (03:06):
He said, nah, Bro, that wasn't He said, that wasn't
he told me on the plane he came up. He
was like, nah, bro, that wasn't at you. I see
how they're trying to spend I'm like, oh, I I'm
not trippering regardless of whatever it was, nobody's words or
anything affects me.

Speaker 4 (03:18):
Could you believe him and tell you wasn't on you?

Speaker 7 (03:21):
Did I believe him? I mean, I feel like you're
trying to start stuff now. I feel like you're trying
to start stuff. I mean, he's doing his job he's
supposed to do I feel like he did I don't know,
and that's not on me to sit here and be like,
oh he did he did it. That's not gonna change
my life in any way.

Speaker 3 (03:38):
So there was a shador addressing the controversy. This is
such a media driven thing, like the media is trying
to put these two against each other because they're both drafted,
they're both competing for the same spot, and.

Speaker 4 (03:52):
They're both minorities. You know, Okay, there's that tue.

Speaker 6 (03:58):
Love.

Speaker 4 (03:58):
I love how you just want to keep you like,
try to put that on me when you keep throwing
it in there, I says, helping out your narrative. That's
all all right, all right, RC, So let me tell
you something.

Speaker 3 (04:15):
This is how I would describe it, though, is I'm
glad was right, Like there's no point in responding, there's
no point digging into it, whatever the case would be.
Although like Dylan Caber already clarified himself last week when
or like maybe it was earlier this week. That's how
long ago it's been since this conversation initially took place,
and it doesn't feel.

Speaker 4 (04:34):
Like there's anything more there.

Speaker 3 (04:36):
But it's like, all right, I guess the Browns know
who the starter is going to be. They're trying to
figure out what's gonna happen the back end of the roster,
at least with the quarterback position, and outside of that,
there's like we're going to talk about, you know, like
there's not much to talk about. So they're digging into this.
They're trying to make it something more than it needs
to be, and for both players. The toughest part is
once you get into the season, you really kind of

(04:56):
have to fall in line to a role, and that's
where you can get quarterback rooms that aren't great to
be a part of, bad working environments because guys aren't
willing to accept the role that they're in. And that's
it's one of the reasons why you see certain guys
like they'll play like five nine games in their career,
that's it like start or maybe just playing, but they're

(05:17):
so good at trying to help prepare the starter. They're
so good at and around the building almost being like
an extra coach that's doing different things too, to help
out breakdown film and game plan and then really help
out the defense that organizations want to keep them around forever.
Like you'll see some of those guys who are career
backups who have barely ever played, and it's because they're
willing to like to be this figure that's okay taking

(05:40):
a back seat and helping.

Speaker 4 (05:42):
Whoever that starter is.

Speaker 3 (05:43):
There's not a lot of quarterbacks that are wired that
way though, So that's the tough part about this is
Shano wants to play, Dylan wants to play. I mean,
Joe's there obviously two plays fricking forty. He's got a
bunch of kids too, so it's like he could be
at home in his family doing something else. So trust me,
they all want to be that guy. But what's going
to be most interesting is once the decision is made

(06:06):
that hey there's one number one, here's number two, here's
number three. In that room, they all kind of need
to fall in line and help each other out. Otherwise
they're not putting the team before themselves and it could
be somewhat of a toxic environment.

Speaker 1 (06:18):
It's very simple for me, Shadoor Sanders gets your clicks.
Shadoor Sanders helps you to, you know, keep keep the
interest in and what you got going on at your job,
especially in Cleveland. And I would even maybe venture to say,

(06:39):
even if you're doing something for a national you know,
a national outlet. It's it's just very it's very clean
cut to me, or clear cut. I should say that
Shador Sanders is a lightning rod in the media circle.

Speaker 4 (06:56):
And that's really it. That's really it.

Speaker 1 (06:58):
If I put something out there and if I can
get a good SoundBite or if you know, I can
get a good angle with him, then I'm going to
get some exposure for my story or for my content
that I'm putting out there. And it's as simple as that,
because again, when does a third round and fifth round

(07:21):
draft pick mean and matter this much to a narrative?
And you've already named a starter, and neither one of
them are starting like it's it's it's it's not rocket
science to come up with the conclusion that, Okay, if

(07:42):
we say something about it, maybe Dion will respond to it.
Maybe you know, Deon Junior will respond to it. Somebody's
going to respond to it. They get millions upon millions
upon millions of people viewing their content. Da da da
this and that let's attached to this wagon. We're going
to get as much out of this as we can

(08:02):
possibly get. How much of a story is he during
the regular season, you know, as as the second, third
or fourth string quarterback, how much burn does should or
get like really like if they if they start off slow,
maybe if they start off fast, one hundred percent, zip ola,

(08:24):
zero zilch, just like the Michael you asked the question
in the last hour about the Michael Parsons contract, or
even if we're talking about the Hendrickson contract, how much
burn does this get? The further out we move from it.
So people are looking for the relevance. To me, the
people that are discussing these type of issues and these

(08:45):
type of topics are leveraging the here and now of
how polarizing or or how how interested people are in
certain topics certain people until it's not because what Cleveland
is doing as a team, what Flacco is doing as
a player, or somebody who jumps out there and does

(09:08):
well for Cleveland or somebody who doesn't do well for Cleveland,
those become the coach.

Speaker 4 (09:13):
What's the fan sky going to do? All of those become.

Speaker 1 (09:16):
Bigger topics as soon as we get to game one
of the regular season. And I think it's as simple
as that.

Speaker 5 (09:24):
You know, who's handled all the drama that's come with
Shador better than anybody should or like he doesn't like
none of this really is a big deal to him,
But it's everybody on the outside speaking for him, Like
everybody's got to take about Shador.

Speaker 4 (09:37):
About you know, his aura there, about the.

Speaker 5 (09:40):
Comments from Dylan Gabriel, and he's just rolling with it
like whatever, Like listen, I'm not I can't can't control that.

Speaker 4 (09:46):
I got to do my job.

Speaker 5 (09:47):
He's like I thought, I think he's handled everything that
he's done. I mean, you listen walking out with.

Speaker 3 (09:52):
You know, the boombox or whatever he had going on
before the preseason game whatever. But I think he's handled
everything as well well as you could all.

Speaker 4 (10:01):
But that's still the media I get.

Speaker 1 (10:03):
But that man walked into the he's walking into the
game like he does things that are based off of
how he feels. He didn't ask the media to to
come there and and film him walking in live. How
many let me ask you this, how many fifth rounders
did we see getting detailed and and and followed into

(10:23):
the locker room going into the game.

Speaker 4 (10:25):
Oh, I mean, I told you. We talked about it
on Monday.

Speaker 5 (10:28):
I think where Dylan Gabriel threw the pick and one
of the first guys. They pointed the camera to with
Shador who wasn't even playing.

Speaker 4 (10:35):
That's just good though, you know.

Speaker 3 (10:39):
The call they would have panned to the wrong the
wrong thing.

Speaker 4 (10:49):
A bear, A bear, go get that beer vendor, get tires?
Why are they?

Speaker 6 (11:00):
So?

Speaker 4 (11:01):
Did you guys?

Speaker 5 (11:02):
Did you gun? Uh man? Did you guys hear? Eric
Dickerson was on with my guys, Uh, Fred, go ahead
and plug him, Fred Rogan and Rodney pe my guys
on the blow torch AM five seventy l A Sports.

Speaker 6 (11:18):
What scision?

Speaker 5 (11:19):
Uh the blow torch am five seventy l A Sports.
And Eric Dickerson claimed this this week about or Sanders, And.

Speaker 8 (11:28):
I'll tell you as much of what and what I
heard from someone that's in the NFL so that the
NFL put it, told other don't draft him, do not
draft him. We're gonna make up, we're gonna make an
example out of him. And this came from a very
good source, a very good source. And he said that
I won't say who. Somebody called the Cleveland Browns and said,
don't do that. Really, yep, draft him, don't don't. Don't

(11:51):
do that because they weren't drafted either. They weren't drafted.

Speaker 4 (11:55):
So that was Eric Dickerson come on this week on
the blow Torch to come.

Speaker 3 (12:03):
That's so petty, you guys ever, you guys ever, I
guess someone who like they tell you something like no, no,
I'm telling you I heard it from a really good source,
like I'm telling you my super reliable Yeah, like I'm
telling you it sounds crazy, but I'm like, all right, okay,
you know whatever. Like I think it's one of the
KIANU Reeves now says like he's just done at the

(12:25):
point of his life where he's like done arguing.

Speaker 4 (12:27):
He's like, yeah, one one plus one equals five. Yeah,
if that's what you think, Like, go ahead.

Speaker 3 (12:31):
But that's kind of where I'm at sometimes on some
of these takes where I'm like, all right, like does
it need do we really need to go into the
depths of that, Like I don't believe a player who
is as polarizing, who did what he did in college
as far as his overall production and what he's capable
of being talked about.

Speaker 4 (12:50):
As a first round pick.

Speaker 3 (12:51):
I don't believe there was a conspiracy or any sort
of collusion to not draft him.

Speaker 5 (12:59):
I think it's more likely somebody called them and said
please draft him than it is, don't draft it.

Speaker 4 (13:04):
It'd be literally the exact opposite.

Speaker 5 (13:07):
So, because remember that that happened with Levar's guy, Michael
Sam back when he got drafted, there were some speculations,
please draft Michael Sam.

Speaker 4 (13:14):
There was some speculation that Jeff Fisher did them a.

Speaker 1 (13:17):
Solid pleasure and said, please draft Michael Sam.

Speaker 4 (13:23):
Like there's there's that out there. Yeah, I don't. I
don't know. I don't know that there would be.

Speaker 5 (13:29):
And Jimmy Haslam would just say, no, few, man, I'm
gonna take this guy just out of Spider you like,
it just seems it seems a bit far fetched.

Speaker 1 (13:37):
But I'm not going I'm not going to rain on
Ed because Ed is the man, and you know, I
just that ain't my business to rain down on the
man the man. But I will say this, if Ed
had said this before, which by the way, I got
a good read at the end of this, uh this
segment that that actually goes with his right, Yeah, it

(14:00):
goes with his initials. But if you said this before
the draft, then I'm all in. I just feel like
when you know, when things like this come to pass
and it's after the fact and everything's happened. I could
say the same exact thing. You know, why could It's
already happened. A reliable source told me, listen, we're not

(14:23):
going We're not allowed. We're not going to can't happen.
Shedre's saying, this won't get drafted by our team. Right,
it's already happened. Tell me that before the draft. Now,
if E came out and said that a week before
the draft, two days a day the day of the

(14:45):
first day, right before the draft starts, Ed goes on
with Petro some money and says, you know what I
got from good authority. It's Rogan and Rodney. Please, oh,
Rogan and Rodney. All right, I was just know plugging
who comes on our show?

Speaker 5 (15:01):
You know?

Speaker 4 (15:02):
You know what I mean. That's that's all.

Speaker 1 (15:04):
If he had gone on any one of those LA
stations or any one of those shows on the LA
station and said this right before the draft started, then
this has some This has something to it, right, It
has some legs, Like, man, I wonder where he got
that from. And and man, it's crazy, like I thought
he was going to go in the first round, or

(15:26):
he could have at least been in the second round, right,
it becomes a conversation, but this far removed from it,
It's like, what's the purpose of it? What purpose does
it serve? And again I feel like the only way
it could have relevance, true relevance, is if what Q
was saying, tell me who said it, Tell me the source,

(15:49):
because now that becomes more of the story, because now
I want to understand more as to Okay, you're the
source that said it. We kind of can figure out, Okay,
well you're this guy, you know this, or you're connected
to that. Like if I were to come out and
say Jay Glazer told me this, which I did, which
I did after the draft was over. I after doing

(16:12):
the draft show with Jay Glazer, I asked him, you
know about Shador and he told me straight out. He
told Shador, do not have all these cameras around you
in your face, because every report that I received heading
into the draft.

Speaker 4 (16:31):
Did not have you going on day one.

Speaker 1 (16:33):
He said that during the draft, And I told you
guys on the show that the following, like after the
draft was.

Speaker 4 (16:41):
Had taken place, Day one had taken place.

Speaker 1 (16:44):
I don't have to sit there and be like a
reliable source said to me that Shador Sanders was not
on anybody's big board to go on the first day.
I didn't have to do that, and it was after
the fact. But to me to say it is to say,
you know what, Jay stands on what he says. Jay
stands on what he puts out there. So I didn't

(17:05):
have any reservations sitting there saying that this is what
Jay said to me while we were in the show,
and this is what's taking place, and this was the
advice that he gave the family. I stay, I put
every last one of them. In fact, my son to
started to say, my son is starting to say, put
put twelve of them down.

Speaker 4 (17:21):
You know what I mean? Ten toes an extra credit,
you know what I mean? Right, I'm with that eleven
eleven would have made sense, but doesn't sound as.

Speaker 6 (17:31):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (17:31):
I mean, well, yeah, eleven definitely makes sense. But I
guess you could go either way. I guess you could
go either way. But if you if you trip hot
in it like that, man, and you know what, like
God bless you, and you know, I don't have to
say anything like good luck to you or anything like that.
Just enjoy your life. I guess, show your life.

Speaker 4 (17:52):
I'm with you. You know what I mean. Man, you're
on one today, Labarmy.

Speaker 1 (18:00):
I'll bet you enjoy your good sources would tell me
that if you eleven toes down, you know, if you
three legs down, enjoy your life.

Speaker 5 (18:09):
Man, Wait, Lee, do we get any sort of an
update on the the alcohol chart? Like where was lebar
in the alcohol chart last night? If he was doing
absinthe at one thirty? Like, where does that rank?

Speaker 6 (18:22):
Like?

Speaker 4 (18:22):
What is like it's app was it wasn't that one thirty? No,
I'm saying it's a one thirty proof one thirty proof, okay.

Speaker 5 (18:28):
Because I think it goes I think it goes absinthe
and then moonshine.

Speaker 4 (18:34):
Yeah he tried, but he.

Speaker 1 (18:36):
Tried to put moonshine over absinthe, and I don't think
it is said forty proof.

Speaker 5 (18:42):
I think moonshine. I think morphine is in between the two. Hey,
what do we what do we got?

Speaker 9 (18:47):
Lee?

Speaker 5 (18:47):
Uh?

Speaker 10 (18:47):
Well, absence ABV typically ranges from forty five to seventy
four ninety to one hundred and forty eight proof, so
it's a wide range of where absinthe could could land you. Typically,
I think moonshine has to be one forty proof in
order to be considered moonshine.

Speaker 4 (19:02):
What's above one forty gasoline? Yeah, gasoline would be I've.

Speaker 1 (19:08):
Had plenty of moonshine, And let me tell you something,
I have never had a moonshine that has ever made
me feel the way that absinthe makes you feel.

Speaker 10 (19:18):
So Everclear would probably be the highest at one ninety.
Some whiskeys can go to one forty. But yeah, absence
is h Yeah it's gonna be one forty. So so
ever clear is a real deal. I had one thirty
last night. I mean the lady told me this is
one hundred and thirty proof.

Speaker 4 (19:37):
I mean that's what she said, and I believe her.
The band ever Stacey awful, but the booze is hardly
How many times have you done ever Clear in your life?

Speaker 10 (19:47):
I probably forget every time I've done it. A couple
of times. A couple of times I've.

Speaker 4 (19:51):
Done ever Clear? When was the last time? Ago? A
couple of summers ago? Maybe right last segment? Wh last
ye at a wedding? I think there was some ever clear?

Speaker 1 (20:02):
But why are you guys trying to have this conversation?
Like are y'all trying to say I'm off right?

Speaker 9 (20:07):
Now.

Speaker 4 (20:07):
I mean, my my speech is a tad bit slurred.
I will say that. What are you talking about?

Speaker 1 (20:12):
I feel like you guys are attacking me right now.
We're in hostile I feel really good.

Speaker 4 (20:18):
You know, you got dead. I wish I could I
wish I could see you.

Speaker 1 (20:22):
You know. I mean, I went on there and and
then I got disconnected. Come on one, went on there,
come to the yard, and then I got I got
kicked off. Come to the yard. Bar I was in
the yard. I was jim popping with y'all. Do you
know what happened? All I could do is connect in.
I did connect in.

Speaker 4 (20:42):
Look I'm back on.

Speaker 6 (20:44):
Here we go.

Speaker 4 (20:44):
Alright, let's see this. Let's here we go. I'm back
in there. All right, well let's see this. Come let's
see this. Here we GOA entered the yard. Here we go.
It is uh you got oh yeah, there you go. Yeah,
I got kicked off. You got shades on and everything?

Speaker 1 (21:09):
There are blue light glasses, Jonas, they're not shades. Hey,
just letting you know, you know, just making sure we're
clear on.

Speaker 4 (21:18):
What do you think you're the second classes at night?

Speaker 6 (21:20):
As?

Speaker 4 (21:20):
Are you trying to say they're I wear my son?
Glasses at night.

Speaker 5 (21:26):

It's not sports related, but like I keep seeing the
headline pop up and it's kind of crazy. I guess,
you know, the algorithm must have AI must have heard
us talking about fingernails and you know, fingernail polish and
painting and playing ball or whatever. But it caught on
and I saw this headline that keeps popping up. You

(23:20):
gotta see it. I just sent it to you on
the group chat. I mean, lil Na's ex was like.

Speaker 4 (23:26):
Really like he was a pretty big big deal for
quite some time, you know, with with his songs. I mean,
but how do you get to a point.

Speaker 1 (23:36):
Of where your cat walking in La in your draws
and some cowboy boots like it?

Speaker 4 (23:42):
I listen. I hope he's okay, you know, thoughts and prayers.
I hope everything works out for him.

Speaker 1 (23:49):
But that's pretty interesting, man, like cat walking with some
cowboy boots song. I mean, I guess there was the
cowboy in uh time square at one point?

Speaker 4 (23:57):
Right? Would this be defined as clout chasing? You know,
that's a great question.

Speaker 1 (24:04):
Is this a fight for to try to like find
some refine redefine your relevance or something?

Speaker 4 (24:11):
They said they hospitalized him. I don't know.

Speaker 1 (24:13):
I mean they reported that he might have had a
possible overdosing. Now the moment I saw O d ing,
what I was like just wondering what did he O
d on?

Speaker 4 (24:26):
You know, I mean, your guests is as good as mine. Lee,
would you happen to have.

Speaker 1 (24:38):
And when you were bar hopping, you know last night, Lee,
did you happen to see a random black mail walking
down the street cat walking with white cowboy boots on?

Speaker 4 (24:48):
Did you happen to that is? Running to him at
the bar you were at. That is in my neighborhood.
That is right next to my bar.

Speaker 10 (24:53):
La Las is a great Argentinian restaurant right doors.

Speaker 4 (24:58):
Of course, of course, of course it is right next
to to where I go.

Speaker 6 (25:06):
You and Todd.

Speaker 1 (25:09):
Y'all go to the Blue Oyster. He goes to the
the La Lah Joint. Huh, all right, all right, we
can move on. I just I just thought that was
Ai is crazy, man, ay, I be listening to us
for real, for real, man put that in my algorithm.

Speaker 4 (25:28):
I just saw it.

Speaker 5 (25:30):
Lee nas X, you know who knew the laps X.
So Urban Meyer got a little bit of flat great segue.
You know, there's there's great to go from that to Urban,
but go ahead. There was there was some speculation that
maybe he was, you know, taking shots at Jim Harbaugh,
saying he should be suspended because of the Michigan sign

(25:51):
stealing scandal, blah blah, all that stuff. And so he
was on the Herd with Colin Cowherd and was asked
about those comments. He wanted to clarify those and then
also get into a discussion about Reggie Bush as well too.

Speaker 3 (26:04):
There was a quote I saw that you said that
you know, maybe Harbaugh should be suspended in the NFL.

Speaker 4 (26:09):
So clarify that. Where are you right now on Michigan Harborne?
What transpired?

Speaker 6 (26:15):
Yeah, friends sent me that quote. I never said that.
That was a typical media guy saying that. No. I
on the podcast, we talked about the penalty.

Speaker 9 (26:25):
And I brought up I said, do you realize that
when Jim Tressel was fired from Ohio State, he was
suspended I want to say six games. He went on
to be suspended by the Indianapolis Colts. Now, did I
say that Jim, No, of course not. I didn't say that,
and I actually even said that, you know, I don't
think it will. But I threw that out there because

(26:46):
that's a fact, and it was made clear throughout the
that the NFL wanted to at least respect the decisions
made by the NCAA.

Speaker 6 (26:56):
So no, I neft answer to your question. I never
said that.

Speaker 9 (27:00):
But that's typical someone's going to put something in the
headline here Callen and I are talking about. That was
never said. Someone brought up the Reggie Bush thing. Did
they give USC a competitive advantage on the field, They
brought up Jim Trussell's situation. Did they give them a
competitive advantage on the field.

Speaker 6 (27:16):
No, of course not.

Speaker 9 (27:17):
Guys are trading in memorabilia for tattoos. The thing that
this is this, and I've heard people say, oh, come on,
what's a big deal. If it wasn't a big deal, Colin,
why would they risk their reputation or careers and thirty
million dollars fine for the university or for the Wolverines.
So I'll answer that question. It's a huge deal. If

(27:37):
the defensive players no runner pass. The amount of time
I would probably say at least thirty to forty hours
per week the defensive players are trying to figure out
from the stances of the offensive lineman, from the weight
on their fingertips, just figuring out from the stance of
the receivers is it run or pass? Is it that

(27:58):
much of an advantage? Can't overemphasize.

Speaker 6 (28:01):
Of course it is.

Speaker 4 (28:03):
So that's I agree. I agree. There's there's a number
of things here.

Speaker 3 (28:08):
The first I would just say, just going back to
what he was asked about in regards to his comments
about harrorball, is there has a precedent been set. It's
actually really interesting that Jim Tressel, you know, was suspended
after that entire incident, which in retrospect, now you know one,
I think looping in Reggie Bush in that situation to

(28:30):
guys getting you know, free tattoos and some other stuff
I was going out of Ohio State are two completely
different conversations. And guys who were like selling their own memorabilia,
Like that's more of an individual choice and all that.
When you're accepting money a home when other you know,
goods and so forth or things to go to a school, Yeah,

(28:50):
that is a competitive advantage. Like that's where I differ
when he's making that comment about all that, because if
you think about it, like if that's what got the
player there in the first place, well then yeah, that's
a big time competitive advantage on the field because if
you didn't give the kid the money, or didn't give
the kid the house or whatever else went along with
that to the parents, then you're not going to be

(29:11):
able to have the competitive advantage on the field because
he's not there. Like Reggie was my class. I remember
recruiting Reggie. You know, he probably wouldn't admit it, but
it was down to Notre Dame in usc you know,
he liked the idea of playing for Tyron Willingham, probably
the national exposure would have gotten into Ust had a
better offer after the fact, starting to see what that

(29:32):
offer was. There's other guys who I've talked to that,
you know, got nice offers there too, So it kind
of was what it was. And I'm not going to
go back and condemn anyone for taking anything back in
the day, but to state that in an era where
there wasn't nil, yeah, it's a competitive advantage on the
field because you were able to get those players you
otherwise wouldn't have been able to get. In regards to

(29:54):
the president set though, between Roger Goodell the Colts in
the NFL, it's interesting point to bring up because you know,
we've seen throughout really the start of the New millennium
since Roger Goodell's taking over, that the NFL was willing
to set precedents and they completely go back on them
later on. I mean, we went through the entire issue

(30:15):
of you know, how we were going to suspend players
for domestic violence, and a lot of that was born
out of everything that occurred with Ray Rice in that
situation in Baltimore, and a lot of the suspension punishment
was given out before the video went in public, and
once people saw the video then it was like, oh,
this is way worse than anyone could have ever imagined. Now,
if you read about it, you would have known. But again,

(30:38):
it's different when it's in pictures and videos. So it's
interesting that like this could apply. But the odd thing
about it is, you know, Jim Tressel was fired and
then he was hired, and then that suspension went into place.
It wasn't as much of a gap by Jim Harbole
Start's coach for a year, So it seems kind of
odd that now the NFL is going to go back

(30:59):
because of what the end has decided and was suspend
him for a purse of this season. I mean he
already they self suspended him back when he was in school,
you know, back when he was there. That was what
led to Sharon More taking over venture as the head
coach because the job he did throughout that season. At
the beginning of the season, when he got his opportunity,

(31:19):
they rotated who was going to be the internhead coach,
and then at the end of the season that that
gigantic win over was a Penn State if I'm not mistaken,
Sorry LeVar, but sorry, that was his first talk to help. Yeah,
he talked to how proud he was, right like, and
he may have said some choice words that don't usually
make it toll on the air, But uh, you know,
I look at it and just go, how's that going

(31:40):
to work?

Speaker 6 (31:41):
Like?

Speaker 3 (31:41):
Could you really actually implement a suspension for a guy
that you already had coaching in your league for a
year and you probably full well knew all what had
transpired or occurred during that period of time when he
was coaching at Michigan.

Speaker 1 (31:53):
I think the bigger question here is the national championship
because the one thing that when I said, I agree
when he finished finished with his comment is quote, you
do have a distinct advantage over the offense. If you know,
if it's a run or a pass, you one have
a distinct That's why when you're doing seven on sevens,

(32:16):
it's it's it's way easier for defenders to especially the
extra defenders like the safeties and the linebackers, to be
able to cover better.

Speaker 4 (32:28):
But they want to we still wax your ass and
seven on seven too. I don't know about that. I
don't really know. I don't really know about that.

Speaker 1 (32:37):
What I would say is why, yeah, uh, flack, but
it is a distinct advantage. And and when and when
you don't have to the less you have to think
about as a defender, the better you're going to play,

(33:00):
and the better you're going to be because you can
play that much faster. So if they had that type
of competitive edge based off of the signs stilling and that's.

Speaker 4 (33:11):
Proven, like if that you can really prove that that
that's what they were able to do.

Speaker 1 (33:16):
I think the bigger question is not about suspensions of coaches.
It should be do they even acknowledge It's almost like
the national championship should be vacated or it should be
awarded to you know, an I don't know what you do,
but that to me has to become the overwhelming conversation

(33:39):
point of this whole fiasco with Michigan.

Speaker 5 (33:43):
But when they when this all got discovered and you know,
Harball was suspended and Connor Stallions got popped, they went
on that run and still won every single game and
won the title.

Speaker 4 (33:54):
Like, so this was after it all came out. Listen,
I get that, well, I get that.

Speaker 3 (33:58):
There's what they say to this is, we've already We've
already had this conversation, like We've talked about this, and
I've said to you, guys, this is Pandora's box, and
there's a there's a reason in my mind why they
went to the coach to coach communication because it eliminates
all this, And you want to know why, because it
was so prevalent. Everyone wants to be upset at Michigan
because they got caught red handed, But they don't have

(34:21):
to look very far south to find someone else who
is doing it. They don't have to look across a
lot of other programs that were doing it.

Speaker 4 (34:27):
I know guys that do this. I know coaches that
have guys in their staff that do that. That's all
they do.

Speaker 3 (34:34):
And so here's the problem with all of it is
if you think that these teams are naive and when
they go in versus Michigan and think they have their signals,
they're changing them already. That this whole thing has been
so overblown because a lot of the pre scouting they're
talking about it changes because they know they're doing it.
And there's there's teams that have shared information because they

(34:57):
know those teams are doing it. They're trying to prepare
for else is they have buddies here and there. It
is such an interconnected network. You do not want to
open up this Pandora's box and go down the rabbit
hole of all the coaches and all the players, all
the people involved that have been either sign stealing, pre scouting,
doing all of this to gain an advantage. I'm telling
you right now, if you you agree with you big

(35:19):
of an impact, if you has that big of an impact,
it's it's completely overstated.

Speaker 4 (35:25):
It really is.

Speaker 3 (35:26):
And that's, by the way, we don't have to worry
about it anymore. We have coached to player helmet communication
both on offensive defense.

Speaker 1 (35:37):
I think it does make a difference. I do as
a defender. I think it does make a difference if
you can call.

Speaker 4 (35:42):
In to right. That's why I'm seven on seven. You
guys still get that ass what you can come you
could call.

Speaker 1 (35:51):
I think you got an advantage and so and listen,
you guys are I mean you're right, Jonas and and
Q you're right. I mean they they did after it
all came out, they did continue to win. But that's
still to me, you know, I think the bigger conversation
has to be about what everything that took place during

(36:13):
that time period, How is that viewed, and the national
title falls into that category, and in fact, it's the
most relevant of all the topics if you ask me,
because even if even if you say, okay, if this is,
if this is is so egregious where you and I
know we're late, but if it's so egregious where you

(36:34):
actually are going to vacate a national title. But okay,
we're saying that it didn't happen when the national title happened, Well,
then now you got to have the conversation about all
the games they may have won that led to them
making it to the national title game, right, So if
those games are vacated, then they don't even make it correct.

the two stroke.

Speaker 3 (38:52):
Advantage that they normally got because he's he's a you know,
ahead in points, so they're not doing it. It's a
level playing field. That's how he wants it, he said.
But it does feel odd that, like you would play
the entire season and then not have any advantage after
leading the whole time. Is he Is he the most
successful criminal in sports? I mean you got to put

(39:13):
them up there. Yeah, five stroke advantage is good for me.

Speaker 4 (39:19):
Damn four.

Speaker 5 (39:21):
Maybe even six six stroked that's dismissive and disrespectful.

Speaker 4 (39:26):
I like that one better. Six
