Speaker 2 (00:52):
I get the new Ride Your Wave.

Speaker 4 (00:56):
Yes, this song will last another week? Yeah, you know not.

Speaker 5 (01:00):
When people like you'll see a car that's like wrapped
around a lightpole, I'm always like, how does that happen?
This song played absolutely putting someone to sleep and they
just doze off with the wheel wrapped their car, And
this is how it happens. This is we're like, hey,

(01:20):
how about car end up down in that ditch?

Speaker 1 (01:25):
This driving around and loved this song.

Speaker 5 (01:29):
And I'm just thankful you stayed awake.

Speaker 1 (01:32):
It doesn't make me want to fall asleep. In fact,
he's talking about staying up in this song. You know,
I know that's the iron yawning.

Speaker 5 (01:40):
It's a very it's a very ironic song to me, okay, dang.

Speaker 4 (01:46):
I mean, in other words, what he's trying to say
is a song socks, dangan. It's just a brutal song.

Speaker 1 (01:54):
I just I just find it ironic that you're trying
to put my song into a body bag.

Speaker 2 (02:04):
But it's my song. You can't have you guys.

Speaker 1 (02:08):
Can't have an opinion for my songs.

Speaker 5 (02:11):
I picked a gas just to fill in for your song, Like,
that's why my song is playing the way it is
because you didn't step up and do what we all
thought you were gonna do and stay within the genres.

Speaker 2 (02:22):
The strip club.

Speaker 1 (02:23):
Yes, because that's it, take us back into the strip club, because.

Speaker 5 (02:26):
That's what you said.

Speaker 2 (02:27):
Listen to that.

Speaker 5 (02:27):
I thought about it, and I was like, he's right,
that's right.

Speaker 2 (02:30):
Who's getting off?

Speaker 5 (02:31):
Yeah, he's right, You're right.

Speaker 1 (02:33):
Okay, So what do you think them strippers and people
that hang out with the strippers, What do you think
they're doing soon as they're leaving to be able to hear.

Speaker 5 (02:40):
Our song on?

Speaker 2 (02:41):
What exactly do you think they're about? What go do?

Speaker 5 (02:44):
What did you take from the players lounge again.

Speaker 1 (02:47):
All right, So today I took a strawberry protein meal bar.
It's really good, only twelve grounds you.

Speaker 5 (03:01):
Need like at least north of twenty.

Speaker 4 (03:03):
You know, you remember those special K bars that everyone claimed,
Oh those are so healthy man, healthy action for breakfast.
Look at the ingredients.

Speaker 2 (03:11):
Yeah, because they're really good. Yeah, yeah, that's why they're good.

Speaker 1 (03:15):
And I had a cappuccino. You know, they got a
nice little cappuccino.

Speaker 5 (03:19):
I really don't mean to get on a tangent, but
when you really think about like different campaigns to to
like defend certain things we eat. Like do you remember
when like high fructose corn syrup, everyone would freak about that,
and then the high fructose corn syrup came out with
their own ad campaign being like it's safe, it's fine
to eat. Like they got combative about it. Oh, it's

(03:42):
just it's so weird.

Speaker 4 (03:44):
The the whole is it fructose or fructose? I think
it's fructose.

Speaker 5 (03:49):
Whatever I mean sucked. I'm sorry. So, as you said,
does that does that change it for you? Does that
change how you feel?

Speaker 4 (04:00):
I mean, whoa, it's not great for you now, I
would say, I know.

Speaker 1 (04:05):
As protein is going to be exchanged from person to
person after you're leaving that stage and throwing ones and
hundreds and all that stuff. So you gotta take it.
You gotta be thinking proactively. If I had y'all on
the poll and on the stage, then what are you
doing next? You're making that that magic happen, And that's

(04:28):
that magic happened music that's playing right there, So there
you go. I just had to make sure that I
finished off strong on what my explanation of why that's
a dope song to be playing right now, Like there's
a strong possibility somebody was enjoying our show, but they
got to the hotel or got to their indestination with
that person that they was enjoying and hanging out with

(04:49):
at at the club at the strip joint, and now
they're about to lay it down. It's like I don't
want to turn it off because I hear this song
like man like two pros and a cup of Joe.
They know how to handle everything I got going. It's
like they're in my head. It's like they have a
personal private camera all my life.

Speaker 4 (05:06):
If that song was needed to be welcome, if that
song was needed to close the deal, that person you
close a deal with is a zero.

Speaker 1 (05:13):
Who said close the deal. Why you like, you don't
need it to close the deal. You are inside of
the deal. I mean you are in the moment.

Speaker 2 (05:23):
Of the deal. Oh that music is playing in the moment.

Speaker 4 (05:26):
I have the storm.

Speaker 2 (05:27):
Huh and believe you me.

Speaker 5 (05:29):
I know.

Speaker 4 (05:33):
By the way, we are going to talk about somebody
who's in the eye of the storm.

Speaker 2 (05:37):
You should hear my sound system.

Speaker 4 (05:40):
We are going to talk about somebody who's in the
eye of the storm on a couple of football related
topics here coming up in just a moment. Do you
want to let you know the Two Pros and a
Cup of Joe Now is a brand new YouTube channel

subscribe button. You'll have instant act says to the very

(06:00):
best videos from the show. Go check out the brand
new channel again. Just search two pros FSR on YouTube
and subscribe. Speaking to YouTube No, if anybody else got
a cute little email sent over by YouTube TV who
said that they're having a little bit of an issue

(06:20):
with Fox. Quote if we are unable to reach an
agreement with Fox by August twenty seven, twenty twenty five,
their content may become unavailable. If this happens, this will
impact channels like the Fox broadcast Network, Fox News, and
Fox Sports, as well as any library recordings you have

(06:41):
from these channels. So away we go. We've seen this
happen before. I believe it happened last year where it
might have been maybe ESPN or somebody had an issue
or right before the college football season with a provider.
But now it's affecting YouTube TV and and we may
have ourselves a little bit of a problem.

Speaker 5 (07:03):
Let me put this very simply. This is a negotiation tactic, right.
We always talk about how deadlines do deals. Is there
anything big coming up? Last weekend boys? Anything? And next week?

Speaker 2 (07:15):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (07:16):
Kickoff?

Speaker 5 (07:17):
Yeah, well a little football taxes so and then and
then the NFL after that and let the game. If
you look at where Fox is at, Fox who is
a broadcast you know, cable TV company. They're starting Fox one,
which is their American streaming service that offers the whole

(07:39):
live on demand access for all of Fox's content, So
Fox News, you know, Fox Business, Fox Sports one, Fox deportees,
all stuff, all the Fox broadcast stations for your local Fox.
They're trying to roll that out. And if you look
at the model, that's their direct to consumer platform. So

(08:00):
they're charging nineteen bucks nineteen ninety nine per month or
one hundred and ninety nine dollars ninety nine cents annually.
So there's there's two ways of looking at it. They're
looking at YouTube, which is really just a distributor of content,
right Like YouTube itself is where content creators can go
live and make money off of all of that. But

(08:20):
YouTube TV is just distribution of content that's already produced.
So it would be no different than you know, Fox
taking their cable channel and renegotiating with what used to
be all of your cable providers, right, And it's the
same thing. It's just happening now in the streaming world.
So the dispute makes sense. Historically, we've seen this happen

(08:43):
before with other networks, you know, more recently as you
pointed out Jonas last year before the football season, but
also just with you know cable back in the day.
Now we're getting to the point where a lot of
the networks who are actually paying for this content are
going to their distributors and in this case YouTube TV,
and they're saying, look, we don't like this deal. You know,

(09:07):
you guys, we have to figure out this agreement because
we can bypass you. We can go direct to consumer too,
where someone can you know, log on for whatever amount
of money and they're gonna pay you know, X amount
of dollars for it, and that works for us. So look,
this deal will get done. The deals always get done.
They get announced right before to force both sides to

(09:28):
come to the table with their best offer and they
hammer it out. No different than Trey Hendrickson with a
season approaching, no different than Terry McLaurin, which we can
get to but we will get to. This, in my opinion,
will get done. And if not, go to Fox one.
You can sign up there. You can have a seven
day free trial, so you time this puppy up right.
And I know this is probably not good because I

(09:49):
work for Fox. If you time this puppy up right,
need a seven day free trial, and if you just
hit that thing up there right before nine am noon Eastern,
right six o'clock Pacific on Saturday, you will get all
the college football you want into Then the next weekend
or they'll you know, you might miss some NFL game Sunday,

(10:10):
but you know, I digress.

Speaker 4 (10:12):
Yeah, but you know you get some extra time. And
by the way, that's the Bengals way of thinking, you know,
so exactly.

Speaker 5 (10:18):
That's a few Bengals fans out there. There's your strategy.
That's how you Trey hendrickson this whole situation.

Speaker 4 (10:23):
Do you have any Bengals fans are driving around going duh? Yeah,
of course we were going to do that. That's how
we operate. Yeah, I mean, it'll get done. And you know,
if this happens and people are able to watch the
Big Game this weekend Texas Ohio State, you will, according

(10:44):
to various reports, you will get to see Dave Portnoy
and the Barstool Gang be featured before the game, but
when they when they go inside the stadium to close
out the show. In the later stages of Big newon Kickoff,
apparently Dave Portnoy has been told you will not be
invited into the horseshoe.

Speaker 5 (11:06):
Let me ask you, guys, this is this a good
thing for Ohio State? Is is this a good look
for them?

Speaker 4 (11:12):
No? No, no, no, You're you're giving your weaponizing Michigan's
dominance over you and inadvertently reminding people that you can't
handle the fact that Michigan has owned you for four
plus years, Like that's it's the truth. Like why would

(11:33):
you care if Dave Portnoy is in the stadium or not.

Speaker 1 (11:36):
That's correct, he's not playing the game. Who cares unless
he's less he's done something that's altered the safety of people,
like literally has done something worth banning him from from
the space. I get that, and and maybe I'm not
aware of that, So let me just throw my disclamor

(11:57):
out there. I have no idea if there is is
a piece of information that I'm not I'm not privy to,
but outside of something just totally egregious as an and
dangerous in terms of what it represents. If this is
just a you're you're a big time figure that hates

(12:20):
Ohio State and has attended Michigan and is a Michigan fan,
that is truly poor form and poor taste on Ohio
State Park.

Speaker 4 (12:30):
Has Michigan ever banned urban Meyer from being in the
Big House and he actually coached against that team, like
he actually had some involvement in the game during their dominance,
and I don't recall Michigan ever saying yeah, Urban, you're
not allowed in the stadium like you're you're not allowed
in uh during the the later stages of the pregame show.

(12:52):
It just just feels odd. I don't I don't get it.

Speaker 5 (12:56):
I do think, uh, it makes for a bigger story
line going into it outside of just the game itself.
If we look at other professional sports leagues and this
is what college football is becoming, is it not? Players
are being paid now, the drama of what happens in
the transfer portal, who gets paid what? I mean, I

(13:17):
don't know if they'll one to be more transparency where
we see a free agency type period where we see
these college deals reported and discussed what exactly a guy
got paid to go to certain teams or what he's
making for that team. I don't even know if it's
safe to do that with college students, given what some
of these college students experience. I mean, I was talking

(13:40):
to some players when we're out some of the media
days and they're saying, yeah, it's pretty crazy on social
media how these these kids get hit up and blamed
for like by these other college kids for them losing bets.
You know, I mean, think about, you know, someone who
I like a granted we joke about it, the over
under of the game in Ireland and Iowa State, Like,
think about Carson Hansen almost getting in the end zone.

(14:03):
Something might have to the over you know, they have
a few pops, they're all of a sudden hitting the
kid up in the d n d MS, blaming him
for them not hitting the hitting the over under because
he was four inches short of the goal line. Like
it's it's a crazy world. So I'm not even sure
that's the world we want to venture into, but that's
what this has become. And so I look at it

(14:24):
and I just say, this is starting to evolve into
that that professional sports world of it's not just about
what happens on the field. It's about what happens in
between the whistles from one Saturday to the next Saturday.
And you know, in the in the case of Dave Portnoy,
you know, I think you could you could someone could
probably make an argument of you know, some of the

(14:44):
things he did to put I don't know whoever, you
want to say, maybe in harm's way. But it does
feel like as far as the Ohio State Michigan robbery
goes it's it's a bit of a bad look. Like
I don't remember Michigan every barring anyone during the run,
whether it's Urban Meyer as a coach, and I don't

(15:04):
know why you would have suspended him from the stadium,
but any other fan for that matter, being barred from
going into the Big House purely because of all the
different things that they had done. So look, maybe they
feel like Dave Portnoy's has taken the rivalry to a
different level. But like I grew up in this, like

(15:26):
I grew up in Columbus, Ohio, So I've seen all
of the vitual that, the hatred, the things that have
gone on, and I don't it just it feels like
the rivalry to me. So at the end of the day,
at the end of the day, does it make a
difference whether he's in there, Like, I'll be honest with you,
We're still going through our behind the scenes, We're still

(15:47):
going through our you know, production of what the show
is going to look like. And I don't know that
it was really going to be a big deal or
not whether he was there. I actually think it makes
it greater, greater TV if he's not, Like it adds
to the storyline of Dave Portnoy being a part of Fox.

(16:07):
By now Ohio State barring him from the stadium, he
can't even get there. Is Dave portno are going to
try to sneak in? He's going to find his win?
Is he going to be seen, you know, being walked
out of there in handcuffs because he's not. Like the
whole thing plays it up even more. It makes it
a made for TV deal.

Speaker 4 (16:24):
It was like when Harbaugh got suspended for that game
and there was questions about whether or not is he
going to be outside the stadium?

Speaker 5 (16:30):
Is he going to be in Penn State? And it
was what he got reinstated, like they could file the injunction,
he could come back. Like we before the game, we're
talking in our production meeting before being like, well, what
do we do if Jim Harbaugh comes back, comes walking
in that stadium, And we had reached out to Penn State,
and Penn State had said like, well, we're not going
to stop him if he tries to walk into the

(16:51):
stadium right now, So we knew that, like should that
moment happen because he was in a hotel room, and
we were trying to get a TV or a camera
like like like monitoring why he's watching the game is
in his hotel room. But when they they were looking
to file the injunction, he was gonna get there in
time and all this whole thing like we were looking
to capture at all, uh now, and then he didn't

(17:12):
want it to be a distraction. So it didn't end
up working out that way. But to your point, like
that was a very real circumstance, but it had nothing
to do with Penn State barring him from being there.
That was more about the Big Ten Conference at that time.

Speaker 2 (17:25):
Yeah, I think it's so patty.

Speaker 1 (17:28):
It's patty if somebody making that decision is pet you know.

Speaker 4 (17:32):
Though it's good for Michigan and it's good for Fox,
it's a bad look for Ohio State. But it does
make you want to watch and see what's gonna happen
if he's not allowed inside, what's what's outside gonna look like?
While all that's going on.

Speaker 1 (17:48):
During the broadcast, they don't there's no need for any
more fuel though, Like this doesn't even make the game better,
you know for the players that I hate is real
like and and them going in like I'm just thinking
looking at it from an Ohio State football player perspective

(18:10):
in this moment, I'm I'm gonna switch to Michigan in
the second. But if I'm Ohio State, them dudes came
into our stadium as visitors with one of the dopest
like movie like score soundtrack songs.

Speaker 2 (18:26):
Whatever it was.

Speaker 1 (18:27):
I got that joint when I was working out, I
was lifting to that song. It is one of the
dopest like instrumentals. Maybe I'll make that my next intro
song like a few months from now. But anyway, they
came into your house with the idea of nobody thinking
that we're going to come in here and do the

(18:49):
unthinkable and beat y'all. And they did it and they
and they did it. So to me when when I
look at like how this all plays out, First of all,
didn't they they didn't They.

Speaker 2 (19:03):
Just play in Ohio State?

Speaker 1 (19:05):
So how are they banning Portanoi from Ohio State. Aren't
they going to play in the Big House this year?

Speaker 5 (19:11):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (19:12):
So how are they banning Portanoi from Ohio State? Like
that's like moving forward? Like what that's a year from now?

Speaker 4 (19:20):
No, it's this Saturday.

Speaker 5 (19:22):
No, it's this Saturday. He works for Fox.

Speaker 2 (19:26):
Right, So it's not the game, it's period.

Speaker 1 (19:31):
He's not allowed when you guys go to the Horseshoe,
he's not allowed in their period.

Speaker 2 (19:37):
Correct, So like, and that's that's even more whack.

Speaker 5 (19:40):
Ban Noon goes for Ohio State, Penn State, he wouldn't
be allowed for that.

Speaker 2 (19:43):
That's even more whack. That's so whack.

Speaker 4 (19:47):
The Horseshoe is where Ohio State plays.

Speaker 1 (19:50):
He doesn't have, like, he can't take legal recourse on that.

Speaker 5 (19:55):
I mean, I would actually say, like, I don't know what.

Speaker 2 (19:58):
He would sue for. We're not allowed to do my job.

Speaker 5 (20:03):
Maybe, I mean, I mean, I think even greater, like
you could challenge it and saying like, okay, on what
grounds are you barring someone from entering? I mean if
you really wanted to. I mean, and maybe that's where
Ohigh State, if they are trying to do this, they
shouldn't let the cat out of the bag so early
in the week, because it does provide the grounds for
the potential of like a legal situation if you wanted
to go there. Again, I don't know enough, Like I

(20:24):
was getting text messages late last night and and people
are like, oh, is this is this Legit is this
for real? And I was like, I don't know, I
have no idea. I just I just know this. It
feels like it's made for TV. Like whether it's real
or not, it feels like the whole thing is going
to be another element to what is the biggest game
of the college football season and kicking off the season

(20:47):
that makes it that much more entertaining.

Speaker 1 (20:51):
Uh, pilot, I don't like that at all. You can't
do that to the media, Like that's the media and
I'm sure he's representing the media and he hasn't done
anything wrong to your your university.

Speaker 2 (21:06):
You shouldn't.

Speaker 1 (21:08):
I mean, imagine if everybody, every team or every school
was like, yeah, we don't want him there, why it
really is?

Speaker 5 (21:15):
I mean, it's just I don't know. I know Ohio
State fans won't get upset with me saying this, but
it's just, Man, it looks soft.

Speaker 2 (21:25):
Don want Brady but this.

Speaker 5 (21:29):
But this, this doesn't and this isn't even about like
the fact that I worked for Fox and gives a
part of it. If he was not with us and
he was a part of Barstool and they did this,
and I know there's been times where like the NFL
did this with him even then I'd be like, it's
just it's ridiculous, Like what impact does he have on
the game in any way, shape or form, whether he's

(21:52):
present in the stadium or not. It's just the whole thing.
It's it's ridiculous. I will say this from Ohio States.
I'm sure there's an element where they're like, look outside
of Texas being in there when getting booed, Like, we
want it to be a great atmosphere. And if you've
got a guy who is going to be booed constantly
for being in there because he's a Michigan guy, so

(22:14):
be it, you know, so be it. But I just
it feels so petty. It really does.

Speaker 4 (22:19):
It does, uh, I mean it does illustrate what you
and Breer have talked about when it comes to if
you had your choice win a national title and loose
to Michigan or beat Michigan and not be a national champion.
Like the fact that we're not even talking about the
the them being national champions, Ryan Day getting his ring
and all that, we're talking about them not wanting a

(22:42):
member of a pregame show in the stadium because he
roots for Michigan.

Speaker 1 (22:48):
State game.

Speaker 2 (22:49):
And that's what's weird.

Speaker 1 (22:50):
Like in my mind, I'm like, Okay, you're not gonna
let him. Man, is a Michigan Ohio State game. I'm
about to make my point based off of that. That's
not even a Michigan isn't even playing in Ohio.

Speaker 5 (23:00):
That's why we love you. That's why we love you.
I said to you yesterday. Man, when you lean into
some of that like it's the best, that's so stupid.
What a bar.

Speaker 1 (23:10):
It's not even the Michigan Ohio State game.

Speaker 5 (23:13):
I thought you were with us. I thought you were
following us for a while.

Speaker 1 (23:16):
And I wasn't. I wasn't like, I was just where
I was at. I was in my own place.

Speaker 2 (23:24):
A special? K are you a still eater? I take
my time?

Speaker 4 (23:30):
Isn't it a special? Isn't that what they call ketamine?
That like the slang term for ketamine?

Speaker 2 (23:36):
Lee?

Speaker 4 (23:36):
You've got some of that on you? What is?

Speaker 2 (23:38):
Uh?

Speaker 4 (23:39):
Isn't that what they call what I?

Speaker 5 (23:41):
Sometimes you need some of that? Lee? Can sometimes you
teach me something there?

Speaker 4 (23:48):
Jonas, I don't know. Special. Yeah it might be. I
think that's a slang term for ketamine, which is you
tell me, buddy, which I think is. I don't know
exactly what it's. What's wrong with you, dude, I'm just
saying it is.

Speaker 2 (24:02):
Yeah, it is?

Speaker 5 (24:03):
Indeed, Yeah, special.

Speaker 4 (24:04):
Can see come to any narcotics information you guys need.
You just come to me.

Speaker 1 (24:08):
Special k bars are are ketamine bars?

Speaker 5 (24:12):
No?

Speaker 4 (24:12):
No, no, no, no, let's not. Let's not pass out along
the wheels are falling off?

Speaker 5 (24:19):
No no, Yeah, if you want, I could ask though Jones.

Speaker 1 (24:23):
Hetamine as a powerful, this dissociative an esthetic that has

Speaker 5 (24:57):

Speaker 4 (25:12):
It's not what I was saying. You got some nerve
on bar, like anytime you question it, I'm on bar.

Speaker 1 (25:18):

We have really rewritten and reshaped the first segment of
our so I guess we just don't give a good
god dang anymore about the clock we are Fox Sports.

Speaker 2 (26:05):
We have just said, we have just said, first is
that a? Is that a twelve seven twelve?

Speaker 1 (26:13):
Four to twelve like f U four twelve A half
few seven twelve?

Speaker 4 (26:21):
All right? Coming up next here? We really be talking
for half an hour coming up next here.

Speaker 2 (26:27):
That is crazy.

Speaker 4 (26:28):
We are going to spend a whole lot of time,
actually will be spending the appropriate amount of time on
a quarterback situation that's very confusing in the NFL.

Speaker 3 (26:40):
Right here at FSR, be sure to catch live editions
of Two Pros and a Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn,
LeVar Errington, and Jonas Knox weekdays at six am Eastern,
three am Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 4 (26:56):
Huh appropriate song Two Pros and a Cup of Joe
here on Fox Sports Radio. Huh, LaVar Arrington, Brady Quinn.

Speaker 2 (27:08):
What you said like that?

Speaker 4 (27:10):
What do you mean? What do you mean, LaVar Arrington?

Speaker 2 (27:16):
Why you say it like that? That's crazy.

Speaker 4 (27:23):
I'm coming on in about we'll call it twelve minutes
from now. Some good news. Somebody got a batch of
good news in the NFL yesterday, all right, a certain
fan base. So we'll get into that for you here
on FSR. By the way, the New Orleans Saints, who
are also known as an awful football team.

Speaker 3 (27:45):
They.

Speaker 4 (27:47):
Still haven't figured out who's going to be their starting quarterback.
That's gone on for a little while. Now Here was
their brand new head coach Kellen Moore explaining the situation
at QB well practice.

Speaker 6 (27:58):
On Wednesday, Thursday, this week, so we'll get some good
work there and then you know, obviously like quarterback wise,
we'll communicate that once we've talked through that with all
everyone associated with that decision, and so we'll go through
that process next a little bit, and so we'll communicate
that with you guys once the appropriate time reaches it.
So obviously pretty close times times coming up. We're getting

(28:20):
ready for Arizona, and so it'll happen soon.

Speaker 4 (28:22):
Yeah, I mean, take your time, don't worry about it
like this, and you gotta got all the time with
the world.

Speaker 5 (28:29):
You know, it says all the feelings of like a
team that's really just trying to get to next year's draft.
Maybe I'm wrong, but.

Speaker 4 (28:42):
Oh my gosh, so you got Spencer Rattler say take
your time.

Speaker 2 (28:50):
I just stay Hey, all cares you know, all good?

Speaker 1 (28:55):
What the week while you know, maybe it's still preseason,
you know, a loss early on in the year, you know.

Speaker 2 (29:03):
Who cares a week and a half to see how
it plays out?

Speaker 4 (29:06):
Like you know, I thought that maybe it was like
there there's some gamesmanship here and they don't want to,
you know, show their hand to the Cardinals. But do
you think the Cardinals are looking at this going, gosh, man,
we really hope it's one guy over the other. We
really hope it's Spencer Rattler over Tyler Shuck or Jake Hayner.

(29:28):
Why wouldn't you just get it done with now, let
everybody know he's our guy, that's what we're rolling with,
and we'll just deal with the consequences, just easy. And
apparently it's not for them.

Speaker 5 (29:40):
I think the hardest thing about this is it goes
to show you like neither quarterback has taken the job,
and that's that's that's the part of the just haven't
been a part of quarterback jobs. The battles when you
have a head coach who says, hey, this, this is
the competition, this is what's going on. They want someone
to go out there and take it. They want someone
to go out there and prove persistently enough they're that

(30:01):
much better than the other. And it becomes a very
murky situation for the coaching staff. If you know, one
guy's up, the other guy's down. The other guy's up,
other guys down. Like it just it keeps going back
and forth. Very seldom is the fact that both guys
are playing at a really high level consistently the whole time.
And usually if that's the case, what ends up happening
is the younger guy gets the benefit of the doubt

(30:23):
because there's greater upside. At least that's the perception, is
that if a guy's less experience and he's playing or
practicing just as well as the older player, whether that's
in college or even the pros usually get they give
the benefit of the doubt to the younger guy because
the thought is, well, he should continue to make more
strides than the older player who's been here, or the

(30:44):
older player who's already you know, been a part of
the NFL for a while. So I would think that
they would go with the younger guy, if all things
are equal, to see what he can become by the
midpoint end of the season.

Speaker 1 (30:59):
What's there when what's the what's their betting projected win
total for the year?

Speaker 4 (31:04):
Efforting, let me get it's got to be four and
a half, five and a half somewhere in there.

Speaker 5 (31:08):
If it's higher than that, I'd be shocked.

Speaker 2 (31:11):
I just you know, it's this is.

Speaker 4 (31:13):
A I've usually seen it at four and a half.

Speaker 1 (31:17):
Four and a half. Okay, Now, what do you guys take.

Speaker 4 (31:21):
I would take under four and a half for the
next two years combined.

Speaker 2 (31:25):
Knocks locks combined.

Speaker 5 (31:29):
Damn yeah, I wish you could see him do that.
By the way, on camera, LeVar, I would also take
the under. I think there's gonna be a concentrated effort
at trying to bring in the number one quarterback in
next year's class. And I know that's like a.

Speaker 2 (31:44):
Quinn's win, You'll be a winner.

Speaker 5 (31:47):
Oh, I know that's a no brainer or no crap comment. However,
look at the history of this organization. When you really
think about the good times for the Saints, it's they've
made that move to go get someone who's at quarterback
who's changed the fortunes of this franchise, and next year's
class should be a good one. It could include a

(32:07):
guy that the organization's very familiar with in arch Manning,
obviously his grandfather, Archie Manning, having you know, been there.
I do think that story they maybe want to retell
and and have the opportunity to at least I don't
know if he's gonna come out or not, but at
least have the opportunity to be the team that picks
in that position. So I'm not outright saying they're tanking,

(32:32):
but they've sure as hell put themselves in a position
to be the worst team selecting number one overall next
year's draft. Like, I think we can all agree on that.

Speaker 4 (32:41):
You know, they haven't. They haven't.

Speaker 2 (32:42):
Was horrible with the Saints.

Speaker 4 (32:45):
Yeah, he's also the last quarterback the Saints were horrible.

Speaker 5 (32:48):
He was actually a very good player and a really
bad team.

Speaker 4 (32:52):
He was the last quarterback. He was the last quarterback
the Saints drafted in the first round. They since they've
never taken a quarterback in the first round. Like it's
just been they stunk right there.

Speaker 2 (33:05):
But anyway that I digress.

Speaker 1 (33:07):
I'm an arch fan, but I mean, it's not like,
oh my goodness, the triumphant return of the Arch manning
like that was not a they weren't winning, but he was.

Speaker 5 (33:21):
He was still holding them up to whatever they could win.
Anyone who watched him playback, I wanna tell you.

Speaker 2 (33:27):
That, which was basically nothing, but it is what it is.

Speaker 1 (33:32):
All I'll say is I see when I look at
their schedule, I see really a real four games that
they put tent If this was a spade game, you
know when you get when you play Spades.

Speaker 2 (33:45):
And you get your hand and you look at your partner.

Speaker 1 (33:48):
And you say, you know, there's a strong possibility they
could run a Boston on us and a Boston, meaning
that basically they're going to get ten books on you,
like they're they're gonna like wipe you out. All their
possible wins are possibles, like you can't say. I mean,
I look at Carolina and I say, those are those

(34:09):
are literally the only two games on there, and maybe Tennessee.

Speaker 2 (34:15):
I say those are the only three games where you.

Speaker 1 (34:18):
Say they're possibles. And what's interesting is in Spade you
say you either have a possible and not possible, maybe
a throwoff. You know, it's like a card that you're
anticipating cook walk because you don't have very many of
that suit. So it's like it's like a jack, but
you only have like two of that that you know

(34:40):
of that suit. So you're like, yeah, it's a possible,
Like I might win with this jack, So I'm gonna
call it a possible. That's a strong possible, all right,
These aren't even strong possibles because I think they are,
so I guess in line in terms of where they're
at with.

Speaker 2 (35:00):
The Carolina Panthers.

Speaker 1 (35:02):
I think that it's like, you know, it's like the
Spider Man, mean, where they're all pointing at each other,
like like Carolina's pointing at Carolina's pointing at the Saints.
The Saints are pointing at Carolina, like Who's who? Like
I don't, I don't, I don't know, I don't see this.
This is going well for them this year, and for
what it's worth, you get Archie Manning, you get Archie Manning.

(35:27):
How does that? How does that play into them going
into the future. Like it's damning to me to say, Okay,
Archie the first the granddad carried them and held them
up and played well.

Speaker 2 (35:40):
And did what he could do.

Speaker 1 (35:41):
Who's to say that the next Archie isn't going to
be in the same situation that his granddaddy was in.
So if I'm Archie Manning the senior, the granddad, I
don't want him going into this situation if you ask me.
But hey, that's just me speaking. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I agree, Yeah,
I would agree with you.

Speaker 2 (36:01):
Okay, good, gotta be firm with it. Glad you do whoa.

Speaker 5 (36:06):
Okay, I'm just waiting for Jonas to make it more awkward.

Speaker 4 (36:09):
Keep going me what I make make what awkward I'm
trying to sup.

Speaker 5 (36:13):
And this is why Jonas needs a good mattress because
trust me, there's nothing going on in his bedroom and
good sleep starts with a good mattress. Trusted Mattress Room
Perfect Mattress from their Dapium selection for the great Great
Sleep You Deserve visit magis from to the best sale
of the year. They make sleep easy, not everything else,
especially for Jonas Damn.

Speaker 4 (36:35):
Two pros and a couple of.

Speaker 5 (36:36):
The best around, pal just know you're gonna get at
the horns.

Speaker 4 (36:39):
Fox Sports Radio. Yeah, coming up next here, we've got
some positive news for a fan base that could really
use it. Right here on FSR.

Speaker 3 (36:50):
Be sure to catch live editions of Two Pros and
a Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn, LeVar Arrington and

Speaker 4 (36:59):

FOWK Sports Radio, LeVar Arrington, Brady Quinn, Jonas Knox with
you here. Coming up top of next hour. A little
over ten minutes from now, we will tell you about
somebody who had a nice little Monday, nice little Monday
that'll be yours here on FSR. By the way, is

(37:19):
it time for a new job that it's time for
Express employment professionals. Quit the endless online job search, en
list the pros and Express never charges job seekers a fee.
Go to expresspros dot com. So apparently Matthew Stafford on track.
Looks like he is going to play week one despite

(37:41):
the back issues that LeVar was waxing poetically about yesterday.

Speaker 2 (37:46):
Doctor say I Needa becchiatomy.

Speaker 4 (37:48):
It looks like he's he's on track to to give
it a go week one for the La Rams, which
you know, definitely some good news there for the Rams who,
by the way, just not trying to give away too
much information about our season picks because you got to
stick around a way for those. But that could be
a dark coorse sleeper super Bowl team in the NFC. Oh,

(38:12):
if he's healthy. If he's healthy, they've got a shot there.

Speaker 2 (38:16):
You go, put that ass right back on the fence.

Speaker 5 (38:19):
I'm not so much worried about him like week one,
Like this is the easiest part of him getting to
the season. It's training camp. He doesn't have to do
much more than what he needs to do to get
himself ready. For week one, it's what happens weeks two,
thre eighteen. You know, will he be able to deal
with the brutality of an NFL season and still be

(38:40):
able to, you know, play quarterback week in a week
out at a high level, especially dealing with a back
injury and being able to prepare and get his teammates
prepared like that's one of the toughest things about playing
quarterback is when you're missing time out there, you're missing
out on all the timing and rhythm and everything else
that the wide receivers or even the offensive line is

(39:00):
trying to gel throughout the course of the week in
preparation for that game. And even though Stafford's played a
ton of football, there's guys who played a lot of
a lot of time with them, there's still new concepts,
new things that are installed, and unless you're doing it
at full speed, oftentimes you don't feel quite as prepared
once you get into the game. So my concern isn't like,
well will he play, will he get to I mean
snow he's gonna be find week one. It's we'll see

(39:23):
what the rest of the season looks like and if
he's able to make it through.

Speaker 1 (39:26):
Healthy getting to them, cold weather games, them them got
than snowing and just jumping to you, jumping to your
back and into your bones. We're gonna find out if
he if he got some some defense for that, you know,
in his back he gon' get got. I mean, we
all get gat but sometimes some people get more getting

(39:49):
than the gatting, you know what I mean. He just
got to be on the right side of the getting
and the guy, you know what I mean, Because if
you just keep getting it and getting it and getting
it and getting it and giving it, giving it, giving it,
then that makes you a taker.

Speaker 4 (40:04):
I'm just gonna say that. I'm just gonna say that.

Speaker 2 (40:09):
What was the point of that.

Speaker 5 (40:10):
I don't I don't really know.

Speaker 1 (40:13):
I don't really know what the point of it was.
It just was it just felt good saying it.

Speaker 4 (40:17):
Well, look, I mean, he's back. I'll be ready to
go Week one and uh, the Rams get a little
bit of good news for the opening weekend.
