Speaker 4 (01:17):
We're not.
Speaker 5 (01:23):
I've said my piece on.
Speaker 1 (01:26):
What is going on here, like the community.
Speaker 6 (01:28):
That's poor communication, Jonas, it's poor.
Speaker 4 (01:32):
It's ridiculous.
Speaker 1 (01:34):
What I understand what's happening.
Speaker 7 (01:37):
It's always Jonas man now, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 6 (01:41):
I'm trying to make the best of the situation. You
ain't even coming in and communicating. It's ridiculous.
Speaker 4 (01:45):
Cool.
Speaker 1 (01:46):
We're trying to get lined up. Got a big hour,
so make sure everything's locked in and good to go.
Speaker 4 (01:51):
That's weird. That was weird. That's a strike, all right,
come on man, all.
Speaker 1 (01:57):
Right, So we uh Thursday morning. This tradition here on
the show, we have ourselves a little something called coach Speak.
Patrick Sweeka, our executive producer, has found sound bites from
coaches in and around the world of football over the
past few days. We are going to hear the sound
from these coaches, and then we are going to decipher
(02:19):
what they're actually saying as opposed to what coach speak
they're giving you. In front of the media. So Patrick,
Patty speaks in coach speak. What do we got this week?
Speaker 3 (02:29):
All right, welcome to coach speak, everybody. I'm your host,
patty sweek. But it is your answers.
Speaker 1 (02:35):
What was Are you okay?
Speaker 7 (02:40):
I just got super excited for Patty sweet Oh.
Speaker 5 (02:45):
May have like sort of to cough in the middle
of that, but yeah, I'm good.
Speaker 3 (02:49):
I was gonna say. The answers are what I seek,
but medical help me is something I'm I'm good.
Speaker 5 (02:56):
I'm good here.
Speaker 3 (03:01):
Oh, we're glad. You're okay, Brady. Well, let's let's go
right into this. So it's not medical attention here. But
the first head coach I got for us is Bengals
head coach Zach Taylor. He was talking about why he
still has hope going forward for his team and actually
give a listen to why he has hope.
Speaker 4 (03:18):
I just saw how we played.
Speaker 8 (03:19):
Like there's nobody that can watch that game and say
they didn't think we had a chance to win that,
And that's.
Speaker 4 (03:24):
Why I believe.
Speaker 8 (03:24):
That's why I believed every time we walked on the
field this year. I think everybody's watched every game we've
played has seen these games come down to this man.
And it's disappointing that this one got away from us,
but we got to find a way to respond next
week with a huge home.
Speaker 3 (03:36):
Game, all right, And that was mister Taylor on the
mic there. So first one I'm gonna go is our
reigning leader from last week. Mister Jonas Knox, you get
to go first.
Speaker 5 (03:50):
I thought it was far with all the way.
Speaker 1 (03:52):
Uh oh, yeah, that is true.
Speaker 7 (03:56):
Wait wait a minute, yeah, rating winner I thought was Noek.
Speaker 6 (04:02):
That was not the reigning winner. It was Jonas. Go ahead, Jonas,
this is what you were preparing for.
Speaker 4 (04:09):
Go ahead.
Speaker 1 (04:10):
So Zach Taylor is basically saying, look, our season's over,
and if we're being honest, it was over about a
month ago, and maybe longer than that. There was a loud,
shutting sound behind me, and that was the coffin on
our twenty twenty five playoff chances. It just closed in
the snow at rich Stadium in a really fun game
(04:32):
to watch. But when our quarterback throws back to back
interceptions on back to back plays, and he's done it
other times in his career, that I ought to tell
you exactly where things are headed. T Higgins might have
another concussion. Trey Hendrickson has got a hip from the
Civil War that he's dealing with, and we're looking around
going we've got no shot, and at this point, I'm
(04:52):
just trying to save my job. Next question, ooh.
Speaker 3 (04:56):
All right, okay, well you know what, I'm ready for
a counter on this var Hey, Brady, Brady, I'm giving
you a breather first before you go. I'm giving you time.
Speaker 4 (05:11):
Yeah, good, and time is good.
Speaker 6 (05:12):
And that's time that well the Cincinnati Bengals ran out
of And you know, if I'm telling you guys, what
I really feel here is I do feel like we
can win every game. I do feel like we should
have a chance to win every game. Keeping it real
with y'all, but you know what, this was a bad one.
It was a bad look. But I still feel like
(05:34):
we can win every game. We're going to continue to
try to win every game. But uh, you know, things happen,
and when they happen, you got to adapt and you
have to adjust, especially when you didn't know that it
was going to happen and then it did happen.
Speaker 4 (05:51):
Yeah, there you go. Okay, And I apply that to
Mike and I apply that to my current situation.
Speaker 6 (05:57):
You know what I mean, play to win even when
you feel like you're not in a situation to play
to win.
Speaker 7 (06:06):
Okay, Barn, you know where I stand on this, all right?
So yeah, man, well.
Speaker 3 (06:11):
I want to know where you stand on this one,
mister Brady Quinn, because you're up next.
Speaker 4 (06:15):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (06:15):
I mean, it's always so long since you heard the
sound last. But you know what that sounded like. It
sounded like Zach Taylor was trying to one make a
case for keeping its job, but also like he was
talking the college football playoff committee.
Speaker 4 (06:26):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (06:26):
I think he's gotten too tied up and trying to politic.
Speaker 7 (06:29):
And make a case for while the Bengals should still
be alive, which I believe they are still mathematically is
still alive at this point. I'm not sure how much
longer that's going to last, but he's doing all he
can to make a case for the fact that don't lose. Hope,
the Bengals still have a shot in all of this.
Anyone who saw this play now with Joe Burrow understands
just how good this team can be, and that reminds
(06:50):
me to make sure that you guys realize we haven't
had Joe Burrow for a big part of this season.
So it's another reason you shouldn't fire me and cast
me off to a life of Skyline Chilly and Greaters
for the rest of the season. So don't fire my ass.
We stole a shot of making it into the playoff.
Whether I'm talking to a committee or whoever else, it
is all right.
Speaker 3 (07:11):
The verdict is absolutely in. And because the reference was
Skyline Chili, Brady Quinn on the board, Quin's Whens.
Speaker 5 (07:22):
You're welcome, all right, now, you're welcome.
Speaker 1 (07:24):
Thank you for letting me play my drop. Oh my lord, Yeah,
Mark didn't play those last week?
Speaker 6 (07:32):
Didn't.
Speaker 9 (07:34):
I'm so sorry.
Speaker 1 (07:37):
So like we were, we were working in church last week,
Mark played it.
Speaker 5 (07:41):
Mark played at once.
Speaker 7 (07:42):
I don't think he was scared to play it again
because he didn't think that was like an actual drop.
Speaker 1 (07:46):
Mark Mark by his phone was turned up.
Speaker 3 (07:50):
Oh my god. All right, well number two here we
got the second head coach, so Jaggs head coach w
Liiam Cohen was talking about apparently the respect is not
coming for him and his team. But he said, that's
the beauty of it there, and uh, let's figure out
what the beauty is.
Speaker 4 (08:10):
Uh. Here he ain't coming.
Speaker 1 (08:12):
You know that it's not so, and that's the beauty
of it.
Speaker 4 (08:15):
And that's totally fine.
Speaker 10 (08:17):
And uh, you know, it's one of those things that
I think the group right now, Houston was good for us.
Speaker 4 (08:25):
I do believe that.
Speaker 1 (08:26):
You know, the end of Houston was good for us.
Speaker 10 (08:28):
And to know that each game is going to be
a sixty minute football game in our mindset, mentality has
to be that way.
Speaker 3 (08:35):
All right, and going first, Well, he got one on
the board. He's going first. Here break, you get to go,
let's go. Yeah, yes, yes, that's right.
Speaker 7 (08:47):
Well le'll we start here with this one. I usually
don't get to go first. This is uh, this is
new for me. I took William Cohen as saying this, Okay, Uh,
the Jaguars are just trying to steal the show, all right,
But no one's watching us, No one cares about us.
Everyone thinks we're gonna move to London. Hell of fils.
I could play half our games in London. But this
(09:08):
is a good football team, all right. And this is
a team that I think is gonna surprise a lot
of people and make Duval very proud when the season's
all set and done.
Speaker 3 (09:21):
Solid that's pretty good.
Speaker 1 (09:22):
Actually, that's a really good limp con impression.
Speaker 7 (09:26):
Well there was another reference. I'm sure you guys didn't
actually catch it.
Speaker 5 (09:31):
So we'll see. It's a deep poll.
Speaker 3 (09:36):
Well we're gonna find out. And you know what I see, Well,
I see Jonas Knox because he's up next.
Speaker 1 (09:42):
Hey man, listen, it's been a weird year for me.
I started off the season saying, Duval, why are you
talking like that? No impression? And so like I started
off the year saying that when I go off on
a ran, I sound like real coach JB from that
Netflix show. And then like the only guy we got
(10:02):
that's in the media that's got our back because the
one and only Pete Prisco. We got a bunch of
haters out there that don't give us the time of day.
And on top of that, we got an owner that's
got a mustache that looks like Roley Fingers, the old
baseball player. And I had my life threatened by Robert
Sala earlier this year, so we know we ain't gonna
get no respect. But we'll be in the postseason. Y'all
come out and swim in our swimming pool that we
(10:24):
got in the top deck there because we played most
of our games in London.
Speaker 3 (10:29):
It's pretty good there jonas well. Var. You get the
final word on this one. What you guy for us?
Speaker 6 (10:35):
Yeah, it ain't coming for us cuz you know, I
knew that when I did fay Zercees at the fifty
yard line and he wanted to throw fisticuffs at the
end of the game, I knew we was going to
have to fight even when the games were over. Speaking
of that pool that we got, start thinking to myself
the other day, ain't nobody gonna be able to get
all that body here that comes off of people when
(10:57):
they get in that water either, So you gotta make
sure you're worried about that too. You don't want to
get other people's body here. It's on you when you
jump in our water. But you know what, we're in Jacksonville,
we're in Duval, and we like to keep it dirty
because ain't nobody coming and with no respect for us,
That's what.
Speaker 3 (11:19):
And after a quick deliberation here, I know who wins
this round. Varr came up quick with that one. You're
on the board deal.
Speaker 4 (11:28):
Yeah, I'm gonna take it. I'm gonna take it. You
can take it. It was a situation and all that's
my way.
Speaker 5 (11:36):
That's a fine. That was awful, and you're gonna give
him that stop me.
Speaker 4 (11:43):
I thought that was pretty good.
Speaker 11 (11:44):
Actually that was pretty good. I mean't think about it.
How much body he just he just pulled off what
I just did. This is the same thing.
Speaker 6 (11:57):
Okay, I er I gave a jersey.
Speaker 4 (12:04):
Yeah, I said, I said, xersees.
Speaker 5 (12:06):
You know, which again wasn't really like I felt.
Speaker 4 (12:10):
I felt like, oh did you hey, listen, I felt
good about it, thank you, thank you, Batty.
Speaker 3 (12:15):
Good about him, bar I did.
Speaker 4 (12:17):
I'll pay your fine on this one. Don't worry about it.
Speaker 5 (12:20):
Let's go.
Speaker 3 (12:21):
Okay, all right, well, you know I feel better about
this now, let's go. Well we got number three on
the board, guys. So, Ravens head coach John Harbaugh was
talking about the refs and Isaiah Likely's touchdown which was
wiped off in that game, and John Harbaugh wasn't too
pleased about it. So here's what he said.
Speaker 12 (12:39):
Yeah, the explanation was a third foot didn't get down
before the ball came out. That's what they said. I
think to play with I think the Aaron Rodgers play,
I mean, just coming of rules here. It's not an
officiating issue. It comes from New York. But you know
when you when you when you're making a catch, you
have to you have to you have to survive the ground.
You know, he didn't survive the ground. He's he's not
down by contact. He was catching. He was catching the
(12:59):
ball on the way down with another person. So you
you got to make a catch there and survide on
the ground. I don't know why it was the RLD
toware it was on that one. So all those things,
I'm sure we'll they'll explain to us. But they had
plenty of time to look at and they're the ones
who are the experts on the rules. So that's how
it works, all.
Speaker 3 (13:16):
Right, Well, how this works here is LaVar, you get
to go first since you won the first point.
Speaker 6 (13:20):
Here, can I hear the first part of the interview
one more time because I feel like I heard it wrong.
Speaker 4 (13:26):
I feel like I heard it wrong.
Speaker 6 (13:28):
But if I heard it right, I'm gonna just make
sure that I keep it short and sweet.
Speaker 4 (13:31):
So go ahead.
Speaker 12 (13:32):
Yeah, the explanation was a third foot didn't get down
before the ball came out.
Speaker 4 (13:35):
All right, stop it right there, Stop it right there.
Stop it right there.
Speaker 6 (13:40):
What I was basically trying to tell y'all is is
when we come to play, we come to play. So
next time, just remember this, we're gonna come pantiless so
that we can always and I mean always execute a
third third toe down toe top swag catch.
Speaker 4 (14:04):
That's it. That's all look got for you. Show down.
Speaker 6 (14:08):
Dang, you're trying to get a trinity of toes down
to make the catch and make it legal.
Speaker 4 (14:12):
I've never heard of that.
Speaker 3 (14:15):
All right, go ahead, Brady, counter CounterPunch for that, Brady.
Speaker 5 (14:21):
So so now we have to entertain the third leg.
If I say it likely, that's what.
Speaker 4 (14:26):
That's what the third toe dang.
Speaker 7 (14:33):
Okay, it's hard enough for fishes out here.
Speaker 5 (14:38):
They got to try to see two foot down in
and control.
Speaker 7 (14:41):
And now you're asking us to look at these dudes
third third legs when they're trying to get control and full.
Speaker 5 (14:47):
Whole body control and ball in.
Speaker 7 (14:49):
I mean, I'm not sure who in New York, all right,
is trying to screw us over. We're just trying to
get back in the playoff race, all right, So don't
hold it against us in our third legs.
Speaker 3 (15:02):
Well played, Well played, Brady, Jonas, what what do you got?
Speaker 1 (15:06):
His retort, Well, listen, I mean while these guys are
trying to swim in the mud here, I'm gonna go
ahead and take a different approach, you know. Speaking of
third legs, if you want to find out more and
see one in real life, you can go to Instagram
and follow King of the Mammals on Instagram for all
your third legs.
Speaker 4 (15:28):
Intaccount.
Speaker 3 (15:39):
It's not too soon for who gets the vote on
this one? Because all right, can I be honest? LeVar
won that one, like he really said.
Speaker 7 (15:52):
We'll actually give that one to LeVar. Now we know
you're just pandering to the audience. It is another scared.
Speaker 5 (16:02):
Pat's up.
Speaker 1 (16:04):
But Pat was giving me a participation trophy there. That
was not I did not win. I was dead last.
Speaker 3 (16:11):
Well we're not a dead last year. On coach speak,
we go.
Speaker 6 (16:15):
Probably easier, probably easier to learn to skate with three toes.
Speaker 1 (16:22):
Right, you know that's a great point bar because every
Olympic dream starts with that first glide. So learn to
Skate USA kids build confidence, strength and joy on the ice.
Learn to Skate USA offers programs for skaters of all
ages and abilities. Find a program near you it learned
to skate USA dot com.
Speaker 3 (16:41):
Well played, well played, indeed you earned that point just
because of the read. Now with that said, so we
have Packers head coach Matt la Fleuer.
Speaker 7 (16:52):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (16:52):
He was talking about on not knowing what really is
a holding call anymore? He was none too pleased to
say this.
Speaker 13 (17:00):
Theials, I don't think that their jobs are easy by
any stretch.
Speaker 4 (17:03):
I think it is a difficult job.
Speaker 13 (17:05):
But you know, I guess I don't know what holding
is anymore because I thought that was pretty clear and
clear and obvious hold. But I guess I don't know
what that means.
Speaker 1 (17:18):
All right?
Speaker 3 (17:19):
And on the board first, here is the one the
only missus Jones knocks.
Speaker 1 (17:25):
I want to talk about holding. Why don't you go
across the hallway over there and tell Ben Johnson to
come hold this? Okay, because I heard what he said
when he was introduced as Bears head coach, and I
got no further questions that I'll be answering at this time.
Speaker 5 (17:38):
Oh that's pretty strong.
Speaker 3 (17:39):
That is pretty strong. Okay, pretty strong, you know what,
Brady counter?
Speaker 5 (17:45):
Okay, Look, these these officials have got a tough job.
Speaker 7 (17:50):
Not only are we asking him to judge these three legs,
these ball bags, whether or not they get the bounds. Now,
it's about the holding, holding, holding these other gigantic men from.
Speaker 5 (18:02):
Holding each other. It's impossible for these guys to officiate.
Speaker 7 (18:07):
Look, I don't have enough time to watch film with
my perfectly lined up haircut to deal with this. So
someone needs to figure this out. I gotta go get
edged up again. I gotta go get cleaned up. But
figure it out. The third legs and the ball bags
and all the holding is too much.
Speaker 1 (18:23):
How often does he get lined up? Do you think
it's gotta be twice a week weekly?
Speaker 7 (18:27):
Bro, that's a weekly routine. Var what do you think?
I mean, you've seen his haircut. It's it's very well groomed.
Speaker 6 (18:33):
It is well kep, Yes, there a lot of contention
to detail. Uh probably yeah.
Speaker 3 (18:41):
Well also var weekly cut?
Speaker 4 (18:43):
Well?
Speaker 3 (18:43):
Also, Var, what do you think he has to say
on this one?
Speaker 4 (18:47):
Well? What exactly?
Speaker 6 (18:48):
The message that I'm trying to put out there is
I don't know what holding is anymore because I'm married,
because I'm in life, and you know what, I don't
matter anymore. I don't matter anymore, and I want to matter,
And it's just strange to me that I can't get
(19:09):
a call. It's strange to me that I cannot be
held the way that I want to be held. In fact,
I sleep alone, I cry alone, I even scream alone.
And I don't know what holding means anymore. And I
need clarity. I need help because I'm an emotional wreck
(19:33):
right now. But we are winning, bitches, so keep it
stepping there you go.
Speaker 3 (19:41):
Oh my lord, oh my goodness. It is so hard
to pick between two right now. Oh but the verdict sticks.
Speaker 6 (19:50):
Yeah, learned, Yeah, yeah, I.
Speaker 3 (20:01):
You were close.
Speaker 5 (20:03):
I'm not worried about that. I thought LaVar's was the best,
the last one he was, thank you.
Speaker 7 (20:08):
It was a toss up the one before because Jonas
came back strong with the counter and Levar's initial might
have won it.
Speaker 4 (20:13):
But frame, well, thank you man. That is Look at
what laying it down. Oh goodness, I.
Speaker 5 (20:24):
Said that, man, Look at what I'm doing. I'm laying
it down.
Speaker 4 (20:30):
Dang, dang, it's a really good drop. I would have
thought said that.
Speaker 1 (20:36):
I didn't know you were an armor. That's interested.
Speaker 7 (20:39):
I always forget how much I enjoy being in person
with LeVar doing shows, because it's just the conversation is
it's it's great, it's the best.
Speaker 1 (20:50):
Him and our conversations are always just about the show,
like it's never that.
Speaker 5 (20:54):
Ours are not.
Speaker 4 (20:56):
I don't even like talking to Jones.
Speaker 1 (20:57):
He doesn't.
Speaker 6 (20:59):
I mean I'd be like sitting there like dang man,
like please, like walk out at the studio like.
Speaker 1 (21:07):
V LaVar goes to get coffee and comes back with
no cup and I'm like, is something I said? He
just doesn't want to talk to me, just no interest.
Speaker 6 (21:15):
We just don't have anything to relate to, you know
what I mean, Like I'm with you, Yes.
Speaker 4 (21:19):
There's no relating No, I'm joking.
Speaker 6 (21:22):
That is not true, people out there, that was that
was I'm diverting the attention. Really, no, because we really
talk about a lot of things during our breaks in.
And when I say a lot of things, I mean
we talk about a lot of things.
Speaker 1 (21:40):
Yeah, yeah, a lot to chew on, that's for sure.
Coming up next here on two pros and a cup
of Joe, a lot to get to. We are going
to tell you about a change that you can expect
in the NFL very very soon. That's yours right here
ont FSR.
Speaker 6 (21:55):
Hey, what's up everybody. I'm sure you know by now
that I loved talking to you about my people from
blue che That's right. Listen, it's the holiday season. Everybody's
going to be full of chair and happiness, enjoy. Heck,
there might even be a missiletoe in your future. Well,
(22:17):
you're gonna want to be ready when the time is right, and.
Speaker 5 (22:20):
Blue ch you.
Speaker 6 (22:21):
It's just the right thing to do because of your
cheek coat for your crotch during this holiday season.
Speaker 4 (22:28):
That's right.
Speaker 6 (22:28):
As you're walking in with gifts full of chair, you're
gonna want to have some blue che ready to go
because well, the emotions run high, people get excited, and
you know what, You're gonna want to be ready for
the moment. So when you hear ho ho ho, yeah,
you better be ready to go, go, go, And the
(22:50):
only way you're gonna be able to do that is

you think the creator.

J All right, So it is two pros and a
cup of Joe here on Fox Sports Radio. Coming up
in about fifteen minutes from now, we are going to
hand down an award on this show. That'll be yours

the Home Depot. Get tools that perform at the highest
level on every job without compromise. When you shot Makita
at the Home Depot, when the job calls for the
best colin, Makita built to be the best available at
(25:38):
the Home Depot, how pros get more done. So apparently
there's going to be a change coming up in the
NFL draft.
Speaker 4 (25:49):
Just changed.
Speaker 1 (25:50):
Oh no, that was a whole bunch of changes that
he underwent, but there is a change that's going to
be made. Yeah, was that what it was about?
Speaker 4 (26:00):
Or yeah?
Speaker 1 (26:01):
Yeah, yeah, Man in the mirror too, like I don't
know what what his mirror look like towards the end.
Speaker 6 (26:08):
Well that's the name of the song man in the mirror,
but he was going to make a change at what
he was looking at in the mirror.
Speaker 4 (26:14):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (26:14):
Well, let me listen. The guy burned his face off
doing a Pepsi commercial. So stuff happens.
Speaker 4 (26:20):
Was it his face or was it his Jery Curle.
Speaker 1 (26:22):
I think it was like like part of his scalp
leading up into his.
Speaker 6 (26:26):
Hair Jerry curl Yeah, yeah, it was highly flammable at
the time.
Speaker 4 (26:34):
At least that was that was the report, you know.
Speaker 1 (26:37):
Anyway, So here's the here's the change that is going
to be happening the NFL Draft. They're going to shorten
the time between picks in the first round from ten
minutes to eight, all right, So that is going to
shave off two minutes to pick. So we're looking at,
you know, an hour that you're going to going to
(26:59):
save just pick time in the NFL Draft, which I'll
be honest with you, I don't think the teams necessarily
need a full ten minutes to make their selections. I
feel like everybody already knows what the selections are, and
the teams picking after and even after that, are seemingly
pretty certain about who the previous team is picking as
(27:23):
they get ready to make their pick. So this feels
like the NFL kind of reading the room and saying,
you know what, this thing gets dragged out enough. We
got three days of it. It does big numbers. Let's
go ahead and move this along a little bit quicker
because it does drag on quite a bit in the
first round.
Speaker 7 (27:40):
Well, and also, I think one of the things that
I've noticed, and this is almost like for all those
out there who have ever holded an over, you know,
it says, oh, I'll be there in four minutes, and
if you actually clock the real time, it probably takes
like seven or eight. It feels like that with these
picks as well. You know, the clocks starting, there's a
trade or the pick is in, then the kind of
(28:02):
the clock goes down and we're wasting like ten minutes
to get whoever it is up there to talk about
the pick, for the pick to be announced, we go
to a commercial break. Like the entire process seems to
be drawn out because once they have that the pick
is in, it's like this, the clock doesn't really start
for the next team even if it does, like we're
not aware of it. It's just the whole entire thing
(28:23):
is it's become a made for TV event. Like, let's
go back to what the origin of what for the draft?
They used to be in a ballroom. They used to
sit there and go through the draft order.
Speaker 5 (28:33):
W they're on a.
Speaker 7 (28:34):
Telephone to call the players when they were being drafted.
I mean, it's as simple as that. You don't need
this entire production. It's become a production because the NFL
wants to be a twenty four to seven, three sixty
five day a year sport that it knows it can't be,
so it has to highlight what is one of the
biggest events of the year. They do that with a draft,
(28:54):
and they've been able to sell it to various cities.
There's economics behind that for what they make off of,
you know, just those host cities because those host cities
most likely are never going to have a Super Bowl,
so they.
Speaker 5 (29:07):
Kind of throw them a bone. But there's an economic
stimulus to that. There's the combine.
Speaker 4 (29:12):
You know.
Speaker 7 (29:12):
We've they've talked about potentially doing that somewhere else other
than Indianapolis. However, it feels like that's always been a
staple because of how easy it is to get everything
done there they need. But it's been moved to the
night time. We've talked about this, like, is that what's
best for the athletes? No, in regards to testing and
peak performance, but they don't care. It's a made for
TV event, so everything is about continuing to generate more
(29:36):
revenue for the league. And I get that, and I
don't have an issue with this. I mean, it's it's fine, like,
let it move faster. What's surprising is that you would
think that you'd want it to go longer for advertising purposes,
to have more time to throw in more ads and
more promotion. But obviously they've looked at it and they said,
we can probably cut off, you know, two minutes. So really,
(29:57):
if you think about thirty two picks hour that you're
cutting out from the show, and maybe you come out
with a better product, which is which is funny because
that's what you look at baseball to pitchclock they went
to speed up games. The NFL is very aware of
the replay process and speeding up games in that sense,
so they must have seen something and said.
Speaker 5 (30:16):
It's it's too long.
Speaker 7 (30:18):
We need to cut this thing down because we're losing
our audience at a certain point.
Speaker 5 (30:21):
It's just dragging on.
Speaker 1 (30:22):
Was it fifteen minutes in between picks when you guys
were drafted? And I think it was.
Speaker 5 (30:26):
I just know that someone had told me I was
in that green room longer than anyone.
Speaker 7 (30:29):
In the history of the NFL draft, So crazy. Yeah,
it was a long It was forever, like we were.
Speaker 5 (30:38):
I've said this before. You should be quicker go ahead than.
Speaker 6 (30:44):
I say five minutes. Yeah, you should know who you
want like going into it. Why do you need to
take ten to fifteen minutes because of trades? Because of
trades like that.
Speaker 7 (30:57):
That's the one thing that I think if you're a
team that I mean, you know that scenarios you're you
bump into people at the combine, you bump into people
at other you know, owners meetings, other events where you
have these conversations about, you know, what the draft capital
may be in order to trade. But there's really no
deadline until you get to that pick, then you've got
eight minutes now.
Speaker 6 (31:16):
So let me ask you this, Let me ask you this,
is it possible that you can script the trades like
and know the day before that you're trading.
Speaker 4 (31:28):
But with this that can.
Speaker 5 (31:29):
That can that can change?
Speaker 4 (31:30):
Right?
Speaker 7 (31:30):
Like that the competition for the trade or and then
that's what I'm saying, we're not gonna get the You're
not gonna get the best offer until you get to
that actual moment.
Speaker 5 (31:38):
And there might be some surprises too.
Speaker 6 (31:41):
But what I'm saying is is what if you made
those actual moments the day before the draft? Like, what
if you Because to me, I'm like this, if you
already have it scripted out and you're ready to go, like,
I get that, you don't get the you know, the
I guess the entertainment of a trade taking place right
(32:02):
there in that moment. And that does happen quite a
bit in the draft, especially I guess as you get
in the later rounds. But maybe I mean later later picks,
but it could happen early. I get that. So maybe
what I'm saying doesn't really make sense now I'm thinking
about it, But I just feel like you could cut
down the time the draft, the first round is literally
(32:22):
three hours. It's three hours long long. That's long to
go through draft picks, and it be at three hours.
You think about it, you're talking about how they're adding
capital and value to what they're doing outside of just
(32:42):
a regular season. That is the length of a game.
The production of a game is three hours. Your draft
show is three hours. And maybe that's what they're going for.
Maybe that's the lucky number that for billing's sake, billing purposes,
three hours. You get the maximum the mouth that they
can get out of what they're going to do with
(33:04):
the broadcasting deal that they had.
Speaker 4 (33:06):
Maybe that's what it is.
Speaker 6 (33:07):
I don't know, But if it's something that that is
not connected to a financial monetary value of doing it,
why would you have a three hour long draft? It
just sounds crazy, like too long. Like two hours max,
I would say would be a great amount of time
(33:29):
for a draft.
Speaker 4 (33:31):
Two hours.
Speaker 7 (33:33):
So do the math on that though, Like how many
minutes are you giving the teams? If you give them
too there's thirty two teams. If you give them two minutes.
If you give them two minutes per pick, you're already
at an hour. So give them four you're at two,
like you want to want four minutes to do it,
(33:53):
Like you're not gonna have time to be able to
answer a phone call and talk to anyone.
Speaker 4 (33:58):
Very much like that.
Speaker 6 (34:00):
I like the idea of making it super quick, like
don't drag it out.
Speaker 7 (34:05):
Is this because you have to do the draft show
for sports radio text to sit there?
Speaker 1 (34:12):
I gonna that is this a personal issue? I was
just gonna say that.
Speaker 7 (34:18):
Is because you've already been drafted in the first round
and you just want to get it over for everyone
else now that you have to work here.
Speaker 1 (34:28):
I'm just gonna say that.
Speaker 2 (34:29):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (34:30):
Well, I will neither confirm nor deny that that I
think we got a VARs got a.
Speaker 4 (34:36):
I will never answer that.
Speaker 1 (34:37):
Yeah, Levar's uh got a vested interest in this because
he does the draft coverage on Fox Sports Radio and
then he's got to be up the following morning to
do this show. So if we could wrap this up
and three four minutes a pick, that's just we're off
and running.
Speaker 4 (34:51):
That works out for everybody.
Speaker 7 (34:53):
So again, this is one of the reasons why I
just I don't think it would work is because you
do get some surprises on drafted. I mean no one
thought Michael Pennox was going at eight to the Atlunt
of Falcons. That changed everything back behind in that portion
of the draft, right, it's out of how then the
Vikings trade up to d JJ McCarthy, I'm not mistaken.
Speaker 1 (35:10):
Yeah, yep.
Speaker 7 (35:11):
So there's always draft day surprises. Sometimes those things take
a little more than thirty seconds. You know, not only
they get ahold of the guy to talk about the conversation,
they most likely are gonna get their best offer in
that moment. So you could try to script of the
day before, but that might change. Maybe they're throwing a
sixth round pick as a part of the package to
(35:32):
trade up or trade back.
Speaker 5 (35:35):
I mean, however, it's it's structured.
Speaker 7 (35:38):
Maybe there's a fifth, sixth round pick that gets thrown
in and you might say, well, that's insignificant until you
look through Tom Brady's draft in the sixth round, some
other fifth round picks, guys who've you know, made a
name for themselves.
Speaker 1 (35:48):
So sit or yeah, like there's he carried the day
as well too. So yeah, there's a lot a lot
going on, man, A lot of games being played out there, So.
Speaker 4 (36:00):
A lot of games, a lot of them. It's crazy
a lot of games. It's real out here, man.
Speaker 7 (36:07):
But have you heard about trainer games? Yeah, it's coming
up starting January eighth. You gotta add this to your bingelist.
Speaker 5 (36:13):

chance to win an I.
Speaker 7 (36:15):

or is this amazing goodness? You know what I mean
when you hit that euphoric moment because you put it
on your wings and you was like, dang, yeah, that's
(37:26):
how wings are supposed to take when you take a
flight out of them. That's what I'm talking about. All
you got to do is dash the simple three ingredients
onto your food. The original Louisiana Hot Sauce. That's what
I'm talking about. Livin's up your plate.
Speaker 4 (37:40):

hundred years legacy of turning winning dishes into championship ones.

that the Bills finally get over the hump?
Speaker 4 (41:05):
You know, I'm awesome.
Speaker 7 (41:07):
I mean it's got to be the easier or more
easier path if you look at once they get into
the playoffs, the quarterbacks need to be going up against right, Yeah,
I mean not many of these guys have any experience
in the playoffs, so he'd have to be the most experienced.
Speaker 5 (41:20):
You'd have to say.
Speaker 7 (41:22):
This team is the one that would be arguably the
betting odds on favorite to go and win it if
they got in.
Speaker 1 (41:27):
Yeah, they're right now to win the AFC. There's a
three way tie on DraftKings, Patriots, Broncos, Bills all plus
three seventy.
Speaker 4 (41:37):
So just they ain't getting over that home damn.
Speaker 5 (41:41):
So who's beating them?
Speaker 7 (41:44):
I don't know it's not it's not a year to
love your grand declarations and you're.
Speaker 14 (41:50):
Not a year.
Speaker 4 (41:52):
Yeah, it's not a year.
Speaker 1 (41:53):
What you said you no further questions, you're what I'm.
Speaker 6 (41:57):
Saying the questions.
Speaker 4 (42:01):
All I'm saying is they find a way to lose.
I was yawning. Uh, I'm tired. I was with Tommy Frazer.
Speaker 1 (42:12):
Last night and touchdown Tommy.
Speaker 6 (42:16):
And we were having a really, really good time last night.
Speaker 4 (42:20):
So I'm hurting anyway. Yeah, I don't.
Speaker 6 (42:24):
I think there is going to be a.
Speaker 4 (42:31):
Why do y'all do this?
Speaker 3 (42:32):
Man?
Speaker 7 (42:34):
Because we love this, this this is the fun time.
Speaker 4 (42:39):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (42:40):
Yeah, there's going to be new teams that start to emerge.
But it's not going to be the Buffalo Bills. That
is the team that gets over the hump. And that's
all I can give you. It could be the Patriots,
it could be somebody else.
Speaker 4 (42:56):
I don't know, but it ain't going to be the Bills.
They can flow it up, I'll mess it up. Yeah,
there you go watch them in the Ravens. Okay,
