(01:01):
you being a part of the program here on a Thursday,
so we had boots on the ground at Big ten
Media Days. Uh. The Great Brady Quinn was there. We
got any little nuggets that you picked up, any uh,
any tidbits interesting developments with the conference we should be
on the lookout for, um, yes, some interesting stuff. I mean,
the whole talk right now, at least if you listen

(01:23):
to the media, is about the realignment and maybe the
expansion of some of these conferences. And I can't be
any more adamant and saying from everyone I've spoken to,
there's not any more expansion coming that the the only
team that truly that you know, any of these conferences

(01:44):
are looking at his Notre Dame. And once Notre Dame
would make a decision, then maybe that's the first domino
to fall where there is going to be expansion. But
at this point they're not going to just bring in
some of their Pack twelve teams or whoever else a
CC teams have been thrown out there. There's there's not
been that desire at least from the folks that I've
talked to about this. So you're gonna read it whether

(02:05):
it's from Dennis dot or Brett McMurphy or whoever else,
You're gonna read that. But if there's nothing behind it,
it's just at this point something to talk about, and
and maybe it's wishful thinking on the part of some
of those schools because they don't feel like they're in
a stable situation and they want to get to a
conference that's gonna be more lucrative and stable. But that

(02:26):
is not what I'm hearing. So that was the biggest
thing I think I took from it because people kept
coming up and til I'm like, I don't know what
to tell you, Like I don't like from everything I've
heard and the people I've spoken to, there is no
more expansion at this time. It's it's a wait and
see approach with Notre Dame of what they end up
doing and so that so we're we're good on on

(02:47):
all that for the year at least. So this season.
We're heading into this season and we are where we
are with everybody, correct you, I can see any changes
like that come into season. I mean those those changes
aren't coming until for the Big Tent anyway. So I
mean all these are are years down the line. But
either way like that, that decision is probably gonna be

(03:07):
pushed off. As I've said before, the first thing that
needs to happen is the Big ten media rights deal.
There has to be clarity with who has college football
and who doesn't. Once you know that, then I think
that helps create a clearer picture for Notre Dame moving forward,
either as an independent or joining a conference. So, um,
that's that's where we're at right now. Um. So, when

(03:28):
it comes to the Big Ten and obviously being a
Big Ten media days, Ryan Day, the head coach of
Ohio State, who's probably got a little bit of a
red ass based on what happened last year with Michigan
and sort of where they were at with everything, he
spoke about the expectations heading into this season. Every year,
the expectations are high, you know, and that doesn't change,
you know, based on what happened the year before. Um,

(03:50):
you know, the expectation is to win them all. And
that's I said that in my opening press conference when
I was named the head coach. And that's just the
way it is. So, you know, maybe at some places,
eleven and two with a Rose Bowl victory is a
good year, it isn't an Ohio State and so our
three goals or beat the team up north when the
Big Ten championship, win the national championship, that's that's the
goal of those three things didn't happen last year. Beat

(04:10):
the team up probably won't, Probably won't. I mean, was
that a shot at someone? I mean, I'm trying to
think of who would be up north. I don't know
the the the Midwest as well as you guys do.
Who would be up north from Ohio State that he
could Michigan. I know that Michigan didn't win the Rose Bowl. Yeah,
I'm like, I'm trying to find a specific team that

(04:31):
he's thinking of that, you know, won the Rose Bowl
but wasn't able to win their conference and wasn't able
to have a shot of winning a national championship. I
don't know. I don't even know if that's a direct
shot of Michigan. Honestly, I swear to god, I was
thinking he meant more Penn State, LaVar. He might have
because Pence, because Penn State they won the Big Ten

(04:54):
and then they ended up losing the Rose Bowl to USC.
But still like that was we've been the closest to
beating them. You're gonna you're gonna sit here and let
him talk about Penn State like that. He's probably talking
about Michigan, but it's pretending, you know, what's crazy. I'm
gonna tell you what's crazy, Right, Wisconsin and Iowa kind

(05:14):
of wins more that what not? Kind of they win
more than Penn State. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I get that.
But they they're actually really good though, I mean i
was always good. Wisconsin is always seemingly there there and
it's probably because of they're there. If if which Ohio

(05:37):
State is doing a pretty good job of it. But
if Penn State and other other schools in the Big
Ten could figure out how to find and develop lineman
like Wisconsin in Iowa, I think the Big Ten would
be a much more interesting conference. I think it's a
bigger conversation for a lot of teams because if you

(05:59):
look at what Sconsinawa, they don't recruit anyven close to
what Penn State does, right or a lot of other
schools for that matter. But what they were doing that
what they do and and obviously there's a there's a
degree of development. Is they know their identity. Like to me,
it's always easier to pitch exactly what you are to
get the guys that you need either who you're going
to develop, which I mean that's the thing about Iowa's

(06:22):
they transform people. You know Chris Doyle, I'm not talking
about whatever he was as a coach and all that
in regards to you know, things he's been accused of,
but as transforming players from their freshman year of the
senior year to make them a first round draft pick,
like he did that during his time in Iowa. That
that staff did that. So they find guys that they

(06:43):
can do that with because they know what their identity is,
Like they know exactly what they're gonna do on third
and one, Like, they know exactly the type of guy
they're looking for as far as size parameters, how they
can put that muscle mass and a stuff on, and
what type of system they're gonna run. I think, and
I'm not saying this for you know, Penn State's defense
even though you know many ideas, to me is going

(07:04):
to be very different than what you guys had and
Brent Pride. But like with Mike Ursi o s I
kind of looked at it last year. I kept going, man,
I don't really know what their identity is, Like I like,
I kept watch them last year thinking like I don't
know what they're hanging their hat on. Offensively, No, that's
a good observation because it's like we wanted to depend
on on John and and and and and we weren't

(07:30):
able to establish a run. We have not really been
you know what, our identity has been the quarterback, the
quarterback keeping the ball. That's been our identity on offense.
Quarterback keeps the ball, winning doubt, quarterback keeps the ball.
On defense, I think, man, I think we've been pretty
freaking awesome on defense. And and I don't know what

(07:53):
Manny Diaz is gonna, you know, bring to the table.
I have seen some clips, some practice clips, just you know,
I'll tell you this. He subscribes to like how I
like a defense to be called like schematically. I'm I'm
not a been, don't break type of guy. I'm more
of a bring the fight to dictate to the offense

(08:17):
if you can. It seems like the way he has
them kind of aligned, he's he's trying to create that
kind of a more of an aggressive attacking style defense. So,
you know, I just this is the first time I
honestly don't know what type of team we have going
into the season, you know, And and that's gonna be

(08:37):
you know, for me, that's a little bit unnerving. But
I know this. There's two things that that have been
talked about. One, the recruiting classes have been phenomenal for
for Been State. They've continued to recruit at a high clip.
But the second thing is is that we haven't seen

(08:58):
those recruiting classes give you the r o I as
you've seen with an Ohio State who has top recruiting classes.
And so to me, it'll be interesting to see because
those those things are criticized. You know, the coaching staff
is really good. James Franklin falls under the criticisms of

(09:18):
he's a really good recruiter, but is he a really
good coach? And and that's like for me, I don't know.
For a long time, I felt like it was unfair,
But now I'm getting to the point of where, well,
we can't keep having close games with Ohio State and
losing them. At some point you gotta turn the corner.

(09:40):
Um when when they're putting you in the top twenty five,
you gotta show that you know and then you make
it into the top ten. I mean, and that's like
almost like consecutive years we've made it and then we
get into you know, big games, and we can't really
turn the corner. So it's I don't know, I'm hoping
we're going to be better than what we have. So
Ohio State, of all the Power five conferences, Ohio State

(10:05):
is the biggest favorite to win the conference, even more
so than Alabama. Is the gap between Ohio State and
the rest of the Big Ten bigger than the gap
between Alabama and the rest of the SEC. And in
your guys mind, like when you look at those two conferences, no, no,
I I mean, and I don't mean there's any disrespect
to Penn State, LaVar but I or Michigan for that matter,

(10:26):
or any school in the Big Ten. But when you
look at the consistency of what they've recruited, how they've developed,
what they have coming back, Um, I think the biggest
question mark is their defense. And they had a change
of defense secondary and what's not secondary, I mean it's
really the entire defense. Because they didn't have the edge rushers,
they couldn't stop the run. They they really couldn't do
much anything last year. And that's the question is you're

(10:49):
taking a guy who runs a three three five scheme
and you're putting him into basically like we were having
four three personnel. Like guys are going to you know,
Ohio State aren't looking to be an outside linebacker. You know,
they're not looking to play like a five technique and
have to worry about potentially two gapping are being moved
down inside. Like these guys are going to play a
d N and go make that money, Go get that

(11:11):
Joey Bosa, that Nick Bosa, Chase Young, you know, falling
their footsteps where it's Jack Sawyer anyone else. So it's
I think that's one of the biggest question marks. But
that being said, it's an embarrassment of riches man when
you look at their wide receivers and what they have
and how scouts and people go talk about it. It's
I mean, it's like an n F it's a future's
NFL roster. I mean this year's Jackson Smith and Jigba,

(11:35):
it would be Marvin Harrison Jr. Who's the son of
the Pro Football Hall of Famer. Like they have just
loaded with dudes and their quarterbacks probably gonna be the
best in the country. So I just you know, I
think Alabama's at a similar spot, but there's just a
little bit more competition you know, at the top there,
whether it's it's Georgia, who I think they'll be competitive with.
You know, we'll see what tex and m brings or

(11:57):
l s U. But Kentucky should be compere it this
year with Will Levis coming back, Lavars guys. So it's
just I just think there's a little bit more competition
with what they're gonna have to have to accomplish their
I'm not offended by that. I mean Ohio State has
earned that. I mean obviously, you know SEC team won

(12:18):
one the national title beating another SEC team, so you
you understand the parody that's there. You can't say that
there's a gap that's between Alabama and everyone else when
an SEC team handled them in in the championship game.
So Ohio State has largely, in part outside of last season,

(12:42):
has dominated the Big Ten. I mean I think Ryan Day,
I think that's like his first loss in the Big Ten. Yeah,
they're gonna Michigan is gonna get hammered so bad in
that game that that is like I would I would
venture to get. Is that gonna be one of those
things where they're playing it in the locker room highlights
that game and that Aidan Hutchinson getting white. What was

(13:02):
the thirteen quarterback pressures he got in that game where
he just ate up that offensive line. Um, you gotta understand,
like I know their strength coach. He was my strength
coach for my first two years. Mickey Maratti and people
on the outside don't understand the influence a strength coach has,
but to me, they're they're worth every penny because you're
with them the most, like whether it's training or organizing

(13:26):
even just like you know, time on the field with
your wide receivers where they're not even they're not even
out there, but you have to you all work it
through your strength coach. And so that guy that doesn't
have as many limitations and and he's so he's worth
every penny they pay them. And Mickey Maratti's whole thing,
and that's what why he is one of the best
and one of the highest paid, if not the highest

(13:47):
paid in college football. But one of his things is
all about motivation. Like I remember when we lost in
an Arbor to Michigan thirty eight nothing. We literally the
entire offseason focused on that at the entire everything. I
remember he put six hundred fifty pounds on a leg
press and he goes, give me thirty eight reps and
I looked at him like, okay, like I'm I kind

(14:10):
of looked at him like is this real right now?
And it was one of those deals where you pumped
out as many as you can get at six hundred
and fifty and then he drop off a plate and
then you did as many as you could, then he
dropped off you as many as you could, then he
dropped off a plate like it was like that. I mean,
guys literally like crying for their mom type stuff. Like
I remember he had it. He had me to he

(14:30):
had me do a lunch hold. He put a sam
as a thirty eight pounds sandbag, he put it on
my back. He goes, you're gonna hold that position as
long as you can, and I swort of. It was
like seven minutes and then he's like, all right, I
switched to do the other leg now. I mean it's
that It's that type of thing. So when you talk
about like them having a red ass for Michigan and
even hardball, who's still needling Ohio State a little bit

(14:52):
like I think he said at the media days because
he was asked like Ryan Dave was talking about, Hey,
we need to have like thirteen million a year for
players order to keep everything intact, and Jim Harp was like, oh,
I think we can double that in Michigan. Like he's
I mean even that he's still needing them a little man,
it's gonna be ut, I mean, ungodly without mercy, it's

(15:13):
gonna be bad. Yeah. If there's ever a game where
that somebody's gonna try and run up the score, that's
gotta be it with when with the celebrations and the
fans running onto the field and all the talk. I
just if you're if you're a Michigan fan, that you
for sure can count that as a loss like that
can count that as a loss later on in the
year that that has to happen. And Columbus Yeah, And

(15:35):
by the way, I want to ask you just quickly,
if you were to ask Ohio State fans right and
they are listening right now on the blowtorch of Columbus
Fox Sports right now, if you were to ask Ohio
State fans, you can win a national championship, but you
would have lost to Michigan that year, or you can
beat Michigan but not win a national championship. What do

(15:58):
you think they would rather have. I don't know. I mean,
it's been so long since Michigan's won one, and it
is like ultimate bragging rights in college football. But I
think they'd rather take a win over Michigan than a
national champ, like growing up there. I'm like leading that way,
but I don't think though, I don't know, I'm torn.

(16:21):
It's a tough question because it matters that much. It bothers.
This has a restaurant that's built. It's literally a separate
room called seven and oh yeah lie like everybend Meyer's Pinehouse,
He's got a seven and oh room. It's like literally

(16:41):
dedicated to beating Michigan seven times, never losing to him.
I think they would LaVar. I swear to god. I
think you keep the national title just n Actually don't
understand it. But that's what makes the rivalry great. Is
it is psycho it's it's it's it's it's really psychotic
when you think about it. I would leave it alone.

(17:02):
You don't think so. I don't think so. But you
know who's who's Penn States like arch Nemesis. We don't
have one because you're independent. For so long was our
our deal. But that's that's been not non existent for
a while. Yeah, man, I think I think they would
rather take a win over Michigan than than a national championship,

(17:22):
especially after last year, all the crap they got, Like
this has got to be the year they get their revenge.
So God, I love college. The first time they lose. Yeah,
they gotta get Yeah, I have to um. It is

the NFL. Will get into the very latest right here.
N f s are be sure that atch live editions
of Two Pros and a Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn,
LaVar Arrington, and Jonas Knox week days at six am

(18:07):
Eastern three am Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the
I Heart Radio Two Pros and a Cup of Joe,
Fox Sports Radio, LaVar Arrington, Brady Quinn, Jonas Knocks did
you here? Coming up in about twenty minutes from now.
It is another edition of Two Pros and a Cup
of Joe Adventures starring Brady Quinn, who somebody pointed out

(18:28):
yesterday on Twitter that Brady Quinn might have the worst
airplane experiences of anybody. So we've got another one here.
So what was this is so bad? I was just
helping out some elderly people, I know, but it's some
people look at at getting on a plane is let
me just enjoy some quiet time. I don't want to
deal with all this and there you are directing traffic. Yeah,

(18:50):
you know what my issue is. I don't like always
putting headphones on because I feel like it's rude um,
because it's to me, it's like an immediate like f you.
I don't want to talk to anyone. I'm not. I'm not.
I'm not like that. But come on, come on board
with him on. Yeah, it's it's definitely warranted. Not even

(19:10):
plugged in, nobody in the eyes, nothing, he's got the cord.
He's got the cord hanging out. People are like, You're like,
I'm on the phone, I'm listening to something. The cord
hanging to this side m wireless, but even if they weren't,
but I would want a chord so you could know
not to say anything. Yeah, I'm with you, man, yeah, man, yeah,

(19:31):
we were all. Yeah, I'm actually pretty courteous. Actually, I
actually would be helping elderly people with their luggage and stuff.
But I wouldn't get carried away, though. I will say
that I would maybe help with one or two bags.
And then I'm sitting my ass down and I sit
on the window because you know, the one thing about like,

(19:53):
you know, when you sit in the owl and you're
like as big as the seat is, you get bumped
the entire time. And that's one of my biggest pet
peeves of flying is sitting in the out like so
it's like the the idea of sitting against the window.
You gotta step over somebody. And if you don't fly
with somebody, you're you're stepping over someone that you don't know.

(20:15):
You gotta ask them. They might be sleep. You gotta
ask them like excuse me, you know. But if you're
sitting in the owl where you could just get up
and go as you want, you're getting bumped the entire time. Yeah,
but I with my I drink so much water, so
you gotta sit in the out have to, Yeah, because
I don't want to have a conversation with somebody to

(20:35):
be like yeah, it's me again. I gotta go. So
I don't want food. I just drink water. I'm trying
to starve myself, which is crazy because I generally never
use airplane restroom ever, like ever, hold they're disgusting. I'll
hold like I will hold. Although if you think about it,

(20:56):
like they are heavily used and there's some dirty stuff
that happens and you can see it, but they are
cleaned once a day. Like, I will challenge you with this,
how often does your bathroom and toilet get clean today?
Probably not once. It's probably being cleaned. It used if
you're doing a base on a per usage. Yeah, my

(21:16):
my my bedroom bathroom is probably used. I don't know how.
Jonas piece a lot man the morning night that's the first,
first one of the day, the last one of the day. Yeah. See,
but here's the thing on on an airplane toilet. How
many people are actually sitting down on that without putting

(21:38):
some sort of covering on this. I'm not sitting down
as bare ass isn't going on. I'm not doucing it up.
Never will I douce on on a plane ever unless
it is just the end, like I am at the
end of my rope and and I am going to
fall if I do not go take care of right

(22:01):
now yet plane. But it's something. First of all, I've
seen you mixed coffees, and then we get to a
brave And how many times do you see me go
to the restaurant? You run out of here like that's happened?
Like what? And that would be like my story of
a plane. How many times have you seen me run
out of here? You've never been? But take two seconds

(22:22):
before you How many times have you seen me leave
the lee? How many times do you see me leave
the studio to go to the restroom? Like during our
course of time here? How many times I think maybe
once I don't leave. I think I've heard of you
like going once where like I brought up, Oh dude,
when when when? Like I just said, when nature is

(22:44):
at the door and they're kicking that bad boy and
I will go. So you've never had to go on
a plane. You want a plane? Yes? So what do
you do. Hold, oh, if I've had to go, if
I the one time, probably at my entire experience of
having to do that on an airplane, I probably put

(23:06):
about an entire roll of toilet paper and then and
I mean not just not just on the And here's
what's crazy, because this might be horrible to say. I
threw away as many layers as I could. Look like
a mummy when LaVar is done. No no, no, no no.
But but here's well, yeah, because I put it on

(23:27):
the sides too. Come on, I layered the whole thing
because it's all fine. It's filthy, bro, it's filthy. Get it.
But just hover next time, you know, I feel like
I feel like I feel like those germs will jump
up on you, like it's going to get you. They're

(23:47):
gonna get you. You're filthy? What what do you? What
do you tell everybody? What would you just say on
the air And I said, I'm about to go right now? God,
yeah provoked. I'm just saying, like, that's the one time
I did it. I literally used an entire roll of

(24:08):
toilet papers, so I covered everything. So you mummify the
toilet and then you go and how how does all
that stuff flush out. I know it's kind of strong.
Flush it before, and then you like, then you have
to do like I had to do, like layers, like
I said, And then it got to the point where
I just had to take a paper towel. I had

(24:28):
like to and I had to take a paper towel
and take the rest because it was so much and
put it in the trash. So you did two flushes,
which means you automatically gave the signal like what you're
doing in there because one flush doesn't like but it
doesn't completely tell the story. Here's what you gotta understand
at that point. There's no shame in my game at

(24:49):
that point, because I know it's like, oh, if I
take too long, everybody's gonna see me come out and
they're gonna be like, ah, he blew it down, Like
I don't care if I'm using an airplane rest room.
It was because I had no other recourse, whether one
or two, I had no other recourse. I will actually
hold one because I don't want to use an airplane toilet.

(25:09):
I just don't want I just don't want to do it.
I'm not a public show of affection type of guy.
I'm not giving any commodes any type of love. No,
yournal's nothing any type of love in public. I was
when I was driving a cross country to my first
radio job. I was in Arkansas and it was it
was a problem and I ran. I literally, I don't

(25:30):
even think I parked the car. It might have still
been running. I have no idea. I was in such
a panic and like having hot flashes, and I remember
running in very sudden. You were in label. Oh yeah,
it was a Hearties in Arkansas. I'll never forget it.
I remember running into the Hearties and just thinking to myself,
there's one bathroom if anybody's in there, and I'm look
looking and glancing around it where I'm gonna have to

(25:53):
end up, you know, dropping uh dropping this thing if
if there's somebody in that lucked out. That's why rest
reputations are so important. Like I don't I don't know
its sheets and I think Sheets is in Ohio, right. Yeah,
if you're saying Anita too, it's an hour thirty four

(26:17):
minutes our thirty four for somebody did. And while that's
why I was trying to make a point, dead horse
joke never hurt anybody in the shouts out to the
Sheets family, very very um, big fans of them. Um.
But their rest rooms are are reputationally super clean. I

(26:39):
will like, if I walk into a rest stop and
I go in the restroom and it smells like it's
been like disinfected and and has been really shocked with
chemicals to make sure it's clean, it gives me a feeling. Uh,
maybe it's falsified feeling. Maybe it's false hope that I'm
in a really clean area in this place. But if

(27:02):
I feel that, then my experience is much more it's
much more enjoyable. It's different. Sheets. Sheets is one of
those places. Um. There's a few restaurants. Off the top
of my head, I can't think of of one, but
there are somewhere. You just walk in the restaroom and
I walk right back out like I walk in because
I have to do it, and I walk right back out.

(27:23):
You have disciplined man. He look here, man, and I
don't feel like I have a choice until I see
how filthy that bad. You know, one of my biggest
deals and restaurants outside of not washing your hands, which
is probably number one, and the other one you probably
can't handle. You know, you can't. You can't control it
because it is what it is. But then when you're

(27:45):
in a bathroom where everyone is using it, then it's
even more intensified. Is the DNA on on the toilet seat?
Al Right? You know what I mean? Like the follicles
got it like that to me? Got it that. I know.
I'm close, but I didn't go over to edge. I
didn't go over, I didn't go into the rib button area.

(28:07):
But I did it well enough. I'm telling you. When
it is uh, when it is a airplane and everybody's
using it, and then you're you're you gotta look down.
You don't know who's who and what's what. That's just
that's way more. It grosses me out, way more. Okay,
I'm glad I grossed two out because I wanted you
to share that gross style experience with me. Are you

(28:29):
guys all grossed out a lot of information there? Yeah,
I'm just saying if you're wondering why I'm so like
shut off to doing it, I've just had some really
bad experiences in public. John's um two Pros and a
Cup of Joe here on Fox Sports Radio. So we
are going to have another edition of two pc O

(28:50):
j adventures coming up in about ten minutes from now. Um,
I just see you guys are aware. We do have
a good old fashioned quarterback competition in Carolina. Sam Donald
got the reps with the ones on Wednesday and Baker
Mayfield is going to get the reps with the ones
coming up later today. How bad competition? Yeah, that's doing man.

(29:17):
You know what that means the under for the win loss,
not a man of the quarterback. And it's not because
it's the whole competition thing. It just one of the
things that bothers me about, like quote unquote competition in
the NFL, is these guys already know who's pretty much
making the roster. There's a few spots that guys are

(29:37):
competing for, but based on how guys are paid, that's
just gonna be playing like they're not gonna pay these
guys this much and not playing them. So you know,
in this case, now Baker is not getting paid that
much from Carolina, so maybe you'd say Sam will get
the first shot at it, but so we'll see how
this plays out. I just it's more of the fact
that when you've got a position that's so difficult and

(30:00):
relies on the synchronization of so many pieces your offensive line, hearing,
your cadence and the and the way in which you
call the cadence. You know, the wide receivers, and your
timing and rhythm and how you throw the ball in
the type of ball you throw uh and then and
vice versa. For you to get a feel for how
they running out out of their breaks, you know their
body language because you're throwing that football long before they

(30:22):
or you should be before they get out of their cut.
Like all those things take so many reps and time
and practice that I just think you're short selling whoever's
gonna go in there and play. It's not that I
don't think Sam Donald or Baker Mayfield could go in
and play and play well, It's just that you're giving
them less of a chance to do that because you're
not giving them quite as much practice. How Sam Donald's

(30:44):
been there, you know, with these guys, so he should
have a much better feel. But if you want to
start off the season week one with Baker, I'd be
looking at thinking like, well, dude, I need all the
reps I can get. I gotta catch up, like I
didn't get ot as in minicamp with this team. You know,
I'm still learning in the offense. I'm still you know,
getting down how how we run this system here. All
that stuff takes time. So I just I've never been

(31:06):
a fan of it for quarterbacks because if you're not
preparing one guy, right and you're like, oh, our quarterback competition,
we're preparing two guys for it, so what we No,
you're not preparing anyone for it. It's Two Pros and

Two Pros and a Cup of Joe Fox Sports Radio,
LaVar Arrington, Brady Quinn, Jonas Knox ad here on fs
ARE coming up top of next hour a little over
ten minutes from now. We've got a coach in the

(32:34):
NFL that is uh, that's got some pressure mounting this
upcoming season. We will get into that for you, and
a lot of it's his own doing, so we'll get
get into that for you coming up again little over
ten minutes from now on fs ARE. UM, So I
just wanted to ask you, uh quickly there, Brady, before
we get into the two PC O J adventures. Um,
this is something I didn't even know this was a

(32:56):
real thing. You know, there's been a lot of speculation
about the Patriots and the roles of the coordinators and
why won't Belichick name a coordinator specific to who's the
O C, who's the d C, like all all that
stuff that's going on. And then Tom Current has been
covering the Patriots for a long time, he pointed out
that there's a loophole in the system when it comes

(33:19):
to coordinators and naming a coordinator, and and you said
that this is something that's been there for a long time,
but it just never really gets talked about. And maybe
that's what the Patriots are doing with the not naming
officially who the offensive coordinator is when it comes to
Matt Patricia, the former Alliance coach. Yeah, I'm not sure
why more teams don't do it is existed for a while,

(33:42):
and Bill Belichick has done in a number of times.
But um, at least in the event that you've got
a coach who's getting paid out from a former employer,
if he technically doesn't take on a certain title depending
on the language within his contract, he can still he
can double dip. And that's essentially what map Patricia is
able to do by not aiming him the offensive coordinator. Uh,

(34:02):
he can double dip take money from the Detroit lines
as well as from the New England Patriots. So there's
there's loopholes like that depending on the contracts that have
always existed. It's it's actually a great deal for Matt Patricia.
And even though some people are like, well, which would
be named Cordina, No, I'd rather take the money. Someuy
call him the plays anyway. But but that's how it's.

(34:24):
It's kind of worked out. And Bill Belichick is as
savvy as they come in regards to UH these these
being aware of these sorts of situations. And Tom Current
also points out that if he's not officially named offensive coordinator,
he doesn't have to do weekly press conferences. It's amazing
you can have a show of good faith, um and

(34:44):
and you know go out there and talk every once
in a while. But yeah, you're not you're not subject
to and I'm look, I'm sure the NFL after this year,
if the media like pressures enough, will will make a
change and and figure out like having someone you do
have to talk afterwards, even if they're not the name coordinator.
I just love the Belichick has read through this stuff

(35:06):
so thoroughly that he finds loopholes and rules on the
field rules and UH and how coaches get paid when
they come from other places. It's just the whole thing
is great. All right. So it is time for another
edition of two pc O j Adventures starring Brady Quinn,
who is making the rounds all across the country. He
will be doing so on a weekly basis for big

(35:27):
noon Kickoff. So what do we got this week? Please
explain the situation? Well, this one was one of my
biggest pet peeves. Okay, and look there there's I'm sure
there's some types of circumstances where this is legitimate, but
in most cases it's not. All right, So let me
just lay this out for you. Guys. We're you know,
your land and as your landing and you're taxing to

(35:49):
your gate, the flight attendant gits on. It's like, you know,
we've got a number of passengers who are going to
be close to their connections, so if you could please
let them get it off the plane first before you
deep plane. Now, well, there's a few people who obviously
were rushing up there to get off the plane to
go make their connection. But in my experience, this is

(36:12):
what I've always seen is people abuse that everyone just
gets up and runs to the front because they're like,
who's gonna ask them for their boarding pass to see
if they're actually have a connection to make there. I mean,
they bought a cheap ticket. They're probably sitting all the
way in the back and they're like, oh, this is it.
I get to get off the front of the plane
before anyone else. I've got the al and no one's
gonna check me on this. It's a loophole. It's always existed.

(36:35):
I'm pretty sure there was someone doing it last night.
But you know, I don't say anything. I just gotta
watch it all happen and laugh about it. It pisces
me off when everybody stands up on the plane right
as it lands, like, dude, we're gonna be here a
little while looking at people in front of you, like
shaming them, like don't even think about trying to get

(36:56):
up and stand in front of him, Like what. The
only time I do that is when I've got all
the kids, because I'm carrying all the stuff. So that's
how we, you know, kind of divide up. You know,
are their tasks like at least to my wife and
my hey, you you take the kids, like you make
sure they get off the planet, and I'll just carry

(37:16):
all the luggage all right, Like there's no point trying
to make the kids try to carry it. And she's tiny,
so I'm not gonna make her try to carry it,
So I'll just take all the luggage. So I usually
pop up pretty quick because I've got like five bags
to figure out how how many gonna carry him off
the plane. But that's like the only time I really
put you're not jumping up to try to get in
front of people that are in front of you, Like
I think that that is so like and and I

(37:40):
hate to say this is like when you're sitting in
for first class. It's like you know you're out front,
so you'll see people that that start to like push
into the first first cabin and it's like they look
at you like I'm I'm getting off before you look
all right. I don't don't have no beef with you.

(38:03):
It's how rude people are is a pet peeve though,
Like when people don't like let the people who are
sitting in front of you go first, like there should
be I always do. I thought that that's the way
everybody plays it. No, that is not. They'll look at you.
They will literally shame you, like stay your ass in
that seat until I walk out, then you could get

(38:25):
up to get you ever been getting ready to get
off an elevator and the person getting on the elevator
doesn't wait for you. They just walk onto the elevator
before you can get off. I don't like to make
sure people are coming off. You gotta let people out
or let people you know, you know, be able to
leave before you go in. Yeah, well there you go.

(38:47):
There's a lesson for all of you out there. Are
just rude. Yeah they are no no proper training man,
but they might have something on their minds, so I
get it. They might have at the Willie Nelson. How
