Some things just need to remain the same.

Speaker 3 (02:15):
You're not into that.

Speaker 4 (02:19):
Drop it like it's hot. Come on, now, let's do it.
Yay Friday.

Right, Yeah, you better believe it to football Friday. Here
on pros and a cup of Joe. Come on, Brady.
You're not into that old version. No, holy but a goodie.
Come on.

Speaker 2 (02:44):
I moved on.

Speaker 3 (02:45):
Yeah, I love it.

Speaker 5 (02:46):
Well, that I know, I know Jonas does. Jonas loves
anything that's like from thirty forty years ago.

Speaker 3 (02:51):
I'll go with I can go with the new version
or the old version.

Speaker 4 (02:54):
I'm keeping a laugh. I want to keep it a laugh, laugh,
staying a laugh.

Speaker 3 (03:00):
Well, you know, you know it's alive and well. The
Detroit Lions, Yeah they are. The Detroit Lions are alive
and well. A big win last night to open up
the year in Kansas City. No Travis Kelcey for the
Kansas City Chiefs, but the Detroit Lions got it done.
They went down the field late, they were able to
pull ahead, and their defense made some stops with the

(03:22):
help of a couple of drops and a bizarre fourth
of what drops fourth and twenty five decision which which
was very strange, which we can get into here coming up.
But let's hear from Dan Campbell, the head coach of
the Detroit Lions, who was asked afterwards about whether or
not he was surprised or shocked or if this, you know,

(03:42):
proved anything to him. Here was a Lions head coach.

Speaker 6 (03:46):
I didn't learn anything. I got verification on what I
already knew. And this is a resilient team. It already
was a resilient team, and we added pieces to that
resilient team. So we're built to handle some off and.

Speaker 2 (04:01):
And we did that today. I guess a very good opponent.

Speaker 3 (04:04):
I love the Lions. Man do it different than everybody else.
Just do it different. Brought in some people from the past,
some historical figures within the organization, a.

Speaker 2 (04:15):
Lot of former players.

Speaker 3 (04:16):
Man, yeah, and and like there are how many former
players are on that coaching staff. There's a time like
the Antoine Randall l Aaron Glenn who like, yeah, yeah
he is, You're right, I forgot about him. But just
to see the way they built that thing, Jared Goff
and the way he was scapegoaded out of LA so
they could bring in Matt Stafford to win a Super Bowl.

(04:38):
Just to see how that entire team came together. They've
been picking high in the draft for a long time now.

Speaker 4 (04:44):
Several former players, Dutch outwards, Buddy Parker, I.

Speaker 3 (04:47):
Mean, if Jameson Williams could just put down his gambling apps,
I mean, the team would be better.

Speaker 4 (04:53):
Is Dick Garon on the staff too.

Speaker 3 (04:55):
I don't, I don't know, I don't believe. So he
used to be a head coach there years ago.

Speaker 4 (05:00):
Maybe I'm looking at something that's incorrect s. Yeah, I'm sorry.

Speaker 3 (05:07):
I know it look like a did he did he
give you the Lion's team program from ninety six? He
does that every year. I'm sick of it. Come on, Lee,
Oh it's from twenty one.

Speaker 5 (05:21):
My guy, Hank Fredley is their own line coach. Steve
Hyden's their tight end coach. Those guys and Swan Randall
a but yeah, I'm not seeing.

Speaker 4 (05:29):
Uh no, no, no, after a long one.

Speaker 5 (05:33):
No linebacker Kevin Shepherd played. I mean they've got a
ton of guys. I mean, John Fox is our senior analysts.

Speaker 3 (05:39):
Yeah, no, it's it's awesome to see just the way
they built that team. And they were pointing Hamilton.

Speaker 2 (05:45):
Yeah, they got so many guys that have played. Man,
it's it's I mean, obviously dray Blie, it's cool.

Speaker 4 (05:51):
You guys did take Dre Blye, didn't they?

Speaker 2 (05:54):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (05:54):
Because Dre was at Carolina last year.

Speaker 2 (05:57):
Nice.

Speaker 5 (05:58):
Yeah, they just have a bunch of good old football coaches. Man,
that's awesome. Deuce went what where did Deuce end up
going to Houston or something they did last year?

Speaker 3 (06:13):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (06:14):
Actually a star, he was a star on the Hart
Knocks series. You know, I think he left.

Speaker 7 (06:20):
For another Yeah, he's the running backs coach in Carolinta, Yeah, Carolina.

Speaker 3 (06:24):
So listen. So the Lions are one to oh and
Kansas City is sitting at oh and wanted to start
off the season Detroit Place. Spoiler. I mean, I think
there's a good chance they're going to go oh and two.
And if you look at the percentages of OH and
two teams that make a super Bowl or make a
playoffs rather, it's it's pretty slim and always has been.

(06:46):
With the extended season, I think it's skewed a little bit,
but I think that Kansas City will probably still be Okay.
I still think they're a playoff team, but you know,
it's kind of a bad loss last night, in a
bad performance by areas. Tony and I don't get the
fourth and twenty. I mean, I understand four five. Yeah,

(07:07):
well that like the fourth and twenty five I understand
because it's like, well, we're already going to go forward
to fourth and twenty, you know, why not just go
forward and fourth and twenty five? But in that spot
with three timeouts left, was that just.

Speaker 2 (07:18):
Two minute warning? Yeah?

Speaker 3 (07:19):
Was that Andy Reid acknowledging, I don't think we can
stop them on a three and out with the way
their ow line's.

Speaker 5 (07:25):
Playing essentially, which is odd. Again, you only gave up
fourteen points. It wasn't like, you know, they they hadn't
had their moments so and especially if you sell out
against the run and all that. But what was what
was interesting about it was you they probably felt like this. Well, again,

(07:45):
I don't know what the data or analytics show that
in that regard as far as fourth and twenty conversions,
it can't be good. Like there's I'm not sure there's
any sort of statistical argument that you could make to
that make any sense. Instead of trying to play the
game of let's go try to get a stop like

(08:05):
I would imagine over time, like you've got a much
higher percentage of forcing them to punt the football and
then getting the ball back in plus territory or at
least close to midfield as opposed to they I mean,
they gave them the ball back, and they gave them
essentially and put them in field goal range. Yeah, and
so then you're saying, okay, even if they did get
the ball back, they're probably gonna have to have to

(08:27):
go score a touchdown then because they're gonna be down
four instead of down you know, just down one.

Speaker 2 (08:34):
I don't know. I really did not understand it.

Speaker 5 (08:36):
And also I think from Detroit standpoint, you obviously have
the three stoppers and two minute warning, but when you're
where you are, where Detroit is gonna take over the football,
you got four downs to go for it. Like if
you found yourself at fourth one, fourth and two, they
could just go in the game, you know, with the
ball in their hands because of where they are on

(08:58):
the field, Like they'll say, okay, what's fine if we
don't so be on our defense goes out there on
the field and we got to stop them from getting
a thirty forty yards to go get a field goal
like that. Just that made no sense to me whatsoever,
no matter how you slice it up, it just it
didn't make any sense.

Speaker 4 (09:14):
Let me ask you, guys, this a bone bruise and
hyper extended me. I'm assuming it's at least it's at
least two more weeks before he plays, and if he's
able to get out there by week three, I don't

(09:36):
know what his ability to move around is at that point.
I don't know, but the next two weeks they had
the Jags and the Bears. Do you think they split that?
Do they take that? I mean, I know you guys
said you feel like they might lose to Jacksonville next week,
But I mean, how much damage can Kelsey being out

(10:01):
have on them and their success over the next Let's
just say several several games. Let's just say for the
sake of saying Jags, Bears, Jets, I mean.

Speaker 3 (10:12):
The Bears is the most likely win on the schedule.
After that, Yeah, at the Jets right well, I mean
it's the Matt Naggie ball, so you know, anything's up
for grabs there.

Speaker 2 (10:25):
I'll put it this way.

Speaker 5 (10:26):
I don't think they win at Jacksonville if he's not
backed by the Jets game.

Speaker 2 (10:32):
I think they're going to have a hard time.

Speaker 5 (10:33):
Beating the Jets in New York and then you're going
back to back weeks on the road to Minnesota.

Speaker 2 (10:37):
I know their defense was bad last year.

Speaker 5 (10:39):
They got Brian Flores there now as the defensive coordinator,
better scheme fit, like they could be a one and
four football team.

Speaker 4 (10:48):
Do you panic if the Chiefs are one in four?
Do you panic on what the Casas City.

Speaker 5 (10:55):
I think what I don't know that you panic necessarily
because we saw even last year like they can rip
off a bunch of wins. I think what concerns you
is we're probably they're not getting.

Speaker 2 (11:08):
Home field advantage.

Speaker 5 (11:10):
This is Look, this is one of the reasons why
when I did all my whole model and granted.

Speaker 2 (11:14):
Like this doesn't help.

Speaker 5 (11:16):
Jacksonville's got such an easy schedule in comparison, and it's
one of the reasons why you say it's it's kind
of easy to say they could be the number one
overall seed because of the division they play in. They
get Kansas City coming to their place, especially now presumably
without Kelsey, maybe not Chris Jones either, like the timing
of all when they play them too. So if you

(11:38):
really look at it, like that's what makes it tough,
is Jacksonville could be in a position where they only
have to win two games at home to get to
a super Bowl, whereas Kansas City is gonna have to
win three games off the road the entire time.

Speaker 4 (11:52):
Most likely they got a tough schedule.

Speaker 3 (11:55):
Because if you play that out the way you did
and they're one and four, that's not even that They've
got Philly Buffalo and Cincinnati later in the year. So
the idea you're going to run the table against those teams,
you know. I it just feels like they, like last
night was a big loss that could look even bigger

(12:17):
over the next couple of weeks, because even if Kelsey
comes back, I just don't know how he's one hundred
percent or anywhere close to one hundred percent next week
or the week after. Especially if we talked about bone.

Speaker 4 (12:26):
Bone bruise, it's the hyper extended me. It's like I said,
you can if you can get the flexibility going for
him there and and he you know, it doesn't hit
the swelling. You can control the swelling and stuff like that,
he should be able to get out there and be
able to push through and still be effected. But the

(12:49):
bone bruise, it's just nothing you can there's nothing really
you can do about it. Like you can put like
they they have, like the technology that they put on it,
and and like ult your sound and then the laser
lasers on it. But man, it's your bone. It's it's
it's I don't know, man. Bone bruises are are those are?

Speaker 2 (13:12):
Those are complex?

Speaker 4 (13:13):
Man? And sometimes you can get through it. Sooner than others,
but sometimes them joints last a really really long time, man.
And I don't know how really how much time really
long is for Kelsey, but it could linger on for
a long time, like like a month. I remember, Like,
if I'm being honest and I'm being totally transparent, I

(13:37):
think I think a bone bruise is kind of what
led to the demise of my career. You know, when
I got God, damn, damn you you're an a hole
for shot now.

Speaker 3 (13:53):
I gave a shout out to bone bruise. It's It's
been featured multiple times on this show.

Speaker 4 (13:58):
I just gave an admission. You know, it probably was
the thing that ended my career. You just gave it at.

Speaker 3 (14:04):
Your career is not over. Your career never ends when
you're a college football Hall of Famer. Did I get
it back?

Speaker 4 (14:12):
I don't know, dude. I think he's trying to say
a face that's kind of weird. But anyway, it just
you know, if you if you try to rush back
on on a bone bruise and a knee injury, it's
just it's risky, man. It's risky because it could lead

(14:33):
to another injury. It could it could lead to. I
mean I don't know, man, boom boom boom boom boom boom.

Speaker 2 (14:44):
Now you're in on it.

Speaker 4 (14:45):
Huh you're in on it?

Speaker 8 (14:47):
What?

Speaker 4 (14:48):
No, you're in on it?

Speaker 3 (14:49):
Okay.

Speaker 4 (14:51):
I just was like, could lead it. I mean you're
from Ohio, so it's okay, Like I'm gonna let that slide. Hey,
And we were talking about stuck a my head the
whole time. That was not It was a nice pool
Like if I would have did that, I would have
enjoyed if my head the whole time, I would have
enjoyed if I hit hit you with a bone bone

(15:12):
bone bone thugs and harmony like and then Jonas you
could shot out bone thugs and harmony. But what you
did was that that was kind of jacked out. Double
down on you.

Speaker 5 (15:25):
Double down on my head, man, was like appropriate time
to bring it out.

Speaker 4 (15:29):
And it was. It was a nice opening to a song.
It was Days of Our Lives, I do believe was
the name of that song that you were quoting. Yeah, okay,
I'm done, Like, I just.

Speaker 2 (15:42):
Let you guys have its.

Speaker 4 (15:44):
Bone bruises are are are in the knee and a
weight bearing uh part of your body. If I get
the lasers. You know, the red lasers. Are they still
red or are they blue now? The cold laser with
the I don't know. I think you're right. I think
there's both. Yeah, the red laser was really big when
when I was in the game, like like I had

(16:05):
like three four by.

Speaker 2 (16:06):
The way, you know what's funny about that?

Speaker 5 (16:09):
And I always said this because like it was always
like a chiropractor that had them, right, Like you get
this chiropractice you travel around and they always have these
like interesting instruments and things they use for like recovery,
and you're like, okay, But what I thought was hilarious
was in everyone's mind when.

Speaker 2 (16:23):
You think of laser, like you think of a red beam.

Speaker 5 (16:26):
I don't know why it has to be red, but
that's always what I think of, and I think most
people do so. Well, yeah, it's like if that light
was any other color than red, like someone tried to
put that onto you'd be like, no, that's not a laser.
That's that's not red. Like if it's a laser, it
has to be red. And it's like, well, okay, like

(16:47):
here we go. But I don't know why I always
got I thought it was funny I'm like, this is
really just a marketing tool that is not a laser.

Speaker 4 (16:53):
It's a red light, that's all. It's a red light,
that's all.

Speaker 2 (16:56):
The red light.

Speaker 4 (16:56):
Yeah yeah, And then in your mind, did you like
when you used it, could you feel it working? Like
in my mind? I felt like in my mind I
wanted it to work so badly that I started trying
to feel things, and I thought it was more in
my mind than it was the laser. Like it's like
a brain it's a brain trick, Like they put a

(17:17):
splash like looking the deal on your leg and you're like, oh, yeah,
I can feel it. I can feel it working, but
I don't think it did at all.

Speaker 3 (17:26):
Yeah, well, yeah, I know this.

Speaker 4 (17:29):
What do you know, Jonas?

Speaker 3 (17:30):
I know it's a progressive way to treat ane, that's
for sure. And speaking of which, we are brought to
you by Progressive Insurance. Progressive makes bundling easy and affordable.
Get a multi policy discount by combining your motorcycle, RB, boat,
ATB and more all your protection in one place. Bundle
and save a Progressive doc. All right, So we're kind

(17:50):
of he didn't hear that's.

Speaker 2 (17:51):
It's a little out of left field.

Speaker 3 (17:53):
I'll be honest, he didn't hear you, by the way.

Speaker 4 (17:56):
I mean that's me. That's me firing. I'm firing back.
I'm trying to.

Speaker 2 (18:05):
Forget about a dog.

Speaker 4 (18:07):
A dog, no point did dog? Damn I was going
below the belt because he went below to belt.

Speaker 3 (18:13):
Okay, I've had a bone bruise too, So I feel
we're all part of the same family here. I can't
joke about bone bruises. I've damn let me put that doll.
What do you get? What kind of shovel you got there?

(18:34):
All right, So coming up next here, we're going to
spread them. I swear to God. This time we're going
to spread them for real, no messing around. It's another
edition of our Picks Against the Spread, the debut edition.
It's been way too long, and it's yours right here
on f s R.

Speaker 8 (18:51):
Be sure to catch live editions of Two Pros and
a Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn, LeVar Errington, and
Jonas Knox weekdays at six am me Starn three am
Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio wi oh,
come on.

Speaker 4 (19:07):
Bar, I'm sitting here having a debate about the sample
of the song that Q was talking about and it
actually so so days of our lives, the one where
you're like bone bone boom boom. They it actually sampled

(19:27):
two different songs within one, tender love about I just
want to know who Uncle Charles is. Yeah, they got him.
That was his uncle Charles. He was at the cry.
He ended up going to.

Speaker 2 (19:38):
The promises Uncle Charles.

Speaker 7 (19:40):
Y'all yeah, Bone Bruise and Harmony Man Bone Bruise in
Harmony Making Love in the Rain by Herbalford had Janet
Jackson in the song too, Are.

Speaker 2 (19:51):
You gonna let Lee and Mark do that?

Speaker 5 (19:55):
And like yet you got upset with Jonas and I
yet they come back with that song You're okay with
a artless You think Travis Kelsey was that song before
the game last night?

Speaker 4 (20:05):
That would be interesting If he was listening to the
song on the field and it was like boom boom
boom boom boom, that would be interesting.

Speaker 3 (20:13):
The Bone Thugs and Harmony still perform. Are they no
longer active?

Speaker 4 (20:18):
They did a versus against what was it? Three to
six Mafia was it? And then they got into like
a little screaming match, almost started fighting and stuff like
that on stage. I think they still perform'll mess around. Yeah,
they ended up breaking up, though, didn't they? Like I
think that they did. One the one dude that rapped

(20:39):
real real fast. What was it, Busy Bone. It wasn't
busy I forget, but he kind of broke off and
he was like kind of like the main the main one.

Speaker 3 (20:50):
Well, if they wanted to stay together, they should have
changed their name to Graduate Bone because Graduate Hotels is
your college game day headquarters with more than thirty hotels
and all your favorite college. Say this eas and then
save up to thirty percent with the code two pros
at graduatehotels dot com. That's two pros at Graduatehotels dot com.
All right, so we are gonna have another vision you

(21:12):
ining you out coming up here in a little over
fifteen minutes from now on a football Friday. But we've
been teasing this for way too long. We just wanted
to build up. Okay, we wanted it to build up here.
All right, it's time to spread them, all right, picks
against the spread We did this last year lead to
lap is going to pick five games in the NFL.

(21:33):
He's not gonna tell us which games he's gonna pick,
and we're gonna have to pick these games against the spread,
So lead to lap. What do we start with?

Speaker 9 (21:41):
I'm excited, all right, Week one larger spread of the week.
We're gonna start with Texans at Ravens. Ravens are nine
and a half point favorite at home. Brady, who do
you have got in this game?

Speaker 5 (21:52):
Oh man, I'm gonna I'm gonna lay the points of
the Ravens. I just think we have a better idea
of where they're at. Todd Munkin comes in as their OC.
They get sling it around, they got obj, they got
Zay Flowers. They're gonna open some things up, and I
just I don't I'm not sure where Houston. I think

(22:13):
Houston will be competitive. I don't know so much though
out of the gates, Like I need to kind of
see where they're at first, If that makes any sense.

Speaker 3 (22:20):
To you, Jonas, what do you think in nine and
a half for the Ravens. Oh, I got Baltimore nine
and a half. This is an easy one for me.
In fact, it feels like Baltimore's gonna win this game. God,
you know, like thirty to twenty feels just about right.
And what do you know? Nine and a half is
the spread? Give me the Ravens nevermore. Weld Don how

(22:41):
about you, LeVar?

Speaker 4 (22:43):
Yeah, I'm gonna take the Ravens and the points as well.
All right, we'll be laying the points, laying the points.

Speaker 9 (22:51):
Laid them, guys. We got Dubbs starting for the Cardinals.
Cardinals are heading to Washington, where they commanders are seven
point favorites.

Speaker 3 (22:59):
Brady, what do you get?

Speaker 2 (23:00):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (23:01):
I really like land the seven here with Washington. First off,
Sam Howe had a hell of a preseason. He can
sling it around. They've got a loaded roster. I'm not
sure if people realize this. It's just a matter of
people buying in to Sam Howe. And on the flip side,
Josh Dobbs hasn't even been in Arizona that long, so
tough spot for Dobbs to be in.

Speaker 2 (23:20):
I'm gonna lay the seven points here with Washington.

Speaker 3 (23:22):
How about you, Jonas? No, I mean you can clearly
see what the loss of Eric b Enemy meant to
the Chiefs last night and the way their offense before.

Speaker 4 (23:28):
We touched on that, I was interested curious to hear
y'all's opinion on that.

Speaker 3 (23:33):
Well, I don't think did he even call plays? I
don't know, but somebody will run with that. You know,
it'll be easy, low hanging fruit. But I'm gonna go
with the Washington as well too. Arizona is a the
armpit fart of the NFL. They're so bad and Josh
Dobbs or Clayton Tune or Stony Case, I couldn't care less.

(23:54):
They could put whoever they want in a quarterback. Washington's
gonna roll him to and that'll be featured in his
next movie. I'm gonna go with the Commandos here minus seven.

Speaker 4 (24:04):
Would you think of third?

Speaker 3 (24:07):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (24:09):
Third?

Speaker 3 (24:09):
That right?

Speaker 4 (24:10):
They adn't given any more explanation I third.

Speaker 9 (24:13):
Dolphins are heading out of Miami. They're heading to LA
to face the Chargers. Charger three point favorites at home, Brady.

Speaker 5 (24:20):
You know, I don't like the fact that I'm taking
Awa his favorites and we just watched a favorite last
night lose. But I'm gonna lay the three here with
the Chargers East Coast team West Coast trip and it
started the season. But the biggest concern is the offensive
line for the Dolphins. I think that's the mismatch Chargers
can get after opposing quarterbacks. I always worry about, you know,
to his health now, and I do love Kellen Moore

(24:42):
as the offensive coordinator for the Chargers. I think they
will open some things up, push the ball down the field,
some big plays for the Chargers.

Speaker 2 (24:49):
So I'll lay the three points.

Speaker 3 (24:50):
What'd you think of Jonas? As sure as I am
that we are going to see Eddie Garcia and his
lovely wife Karen the great, one of the great Charger fans,
and all the land on TV because they're always on TV,
I'm also sure that the Chargers are gonna get it
done minus the three. I like this spot for them.
I mean, you know, I picked them in the Super
Bowl for God's sake, so it has to go this way.

(25:12):
So I'll take the Chargers here.

Speaker 4 (25:14):
What you're thinking, Bar, Yeah, I'm gonna take Miami on
this one, all right, Bar?

Speaker 3 (25:19):
You are high on the NFC North.

Speaker 9 (25:22):
We talked about it earlier. Packers are heading to Chicago,
Bears are one point favorites at home, LeVar, what are
you thinking?

Speaker 4 (25:28):
I'm gonna take the Packers in this one, Brady, Ah,
another one.

Speaker 2 (25:34):
Man, It's tough. I'm I'm with a var I'm gonna
take the Packers.

Speaker 3 (25:40):
Jesus me, because I had a bunch of notes. I
want to know on this.

Speaker 2 (25:43):
If you are the Bears resident Bears.

Speaker 3 (25:49):
It's on page four or seven. Oh yeah, I'm gonna
take the Bears minus one. Lee Woo new quarterback, new
era of football for the Packers where they lose a
couple of times to the Bears over the next thirty years.

Speaker 2 (26:06):
I mean he's kind of been there, but I guess
the new starter.

Speaker 9 (26:09):
Yeah, yeah, don't know about that one. Well, on to
Sunday Night football, Cowboys at the Giants. Cowboys are favorites
on the road, three and a half point favorites.

Speaker 3 (26:19):
That is Brady, What are you thinking.

Speaker 5 (26:21):
I'm taking the home underdog here. I think people are
sleeping the Giants. I think they feel good about their roster.
They got Saquon back, Daniel Jones at the extension the defense.
Last year they got a lot better, and I think
they only helped themselves with building on the offensive side,
especially Jalen Hyatt, who's a blazer on the outside.

Speaker 2 (26:39):
So I'm going to take the three and a half
points here in the New York Giants.

Speaker 3 (26:42):
Jonas, the Giants are smoking mirrors last year. I mean,
I love Brian day Ball, but this is not a
playoff team. I'm high on Dallas this year. I think
Dallas sets the tone. They go on the road, they
get it done. Minus three and a half.

Speaker 9 (26:56):
Good guess where you're going, Var? What are you thinking here?
Cowboys minus three and a half at the Giants?

Speaker 4 (27:01):
How Boys minus three and a half? I think Dallas
wins by more than three. Excuse me, excuse me. I
think the Giants win by more than three.

Speaker 3 (27:15):
So you think the Giants are running out right?

Speaker 4 (27:17):
Yeah, they're winning out.

Speaker 3 (27:18):
Right, damn. Money line bet Yeah, they're went in out right, damn.
And that's our first week picks against the spread, right.

Speaker 2 (27:26):
That's it. Wow. Okay, by the way, we're doing.

Speaker 3 (27:28):
More if the if the Giants do win out right,
it's a plus one forty five? Are so hundred?

Speaker 2 (27:33):
Would you see? Vary should take forty five back? I
should take that bet.

Speaker 3 (27:37):
Throw them up, baby, Yeah, somebody.

Speaker 4 (27:40):
Should take that one. That's money in the bank right there.
If you ask me, look.

Speaker 2 (27:44):
At Var just support his former teams too.

Speaker 3 (27:48):
Yep, yeah, that is true. It is two pros and
a cup of joe here on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (27:54):
Man that pros.

Speaker 3 (27:55):
That was fresh. What we just did there. It felt
like a fresh edition. And speaking of which, the fresh
scent of Irish Spring and those sensational Irish Spring sudgs
or just the reset you need to own the day
Irish Spring. When the spring hits you, you're ready pick
up Irish Spring at your local retailer today. So we
are going to have another edition of a Uni You
out coming up here shortly. But for all the latest
from around the world of sports. A man, as we
just mentioned, will be seen on television at the Dolphins

(28:18):
Chargers game, because he's seen at every Chargers game. Edmund Garcia.

Speaker 4 (28:22):
What can I say?

Speaker 10 (28:23):
I just a magnet for the camera.

Speaker 2 (28:25):
I guess they just.

Speaker 3 (28:27):
Is that game sold out yet? I have no idea
because I think they were. Tickets are still available, which
is surprising. But you know, there's gonna be a lot
of Dolphins fans are Eddie.

Speaker 10 (28:37):
There always are a lot of visiting fans. They like
to come to Los Angeles.

Speaker 3 (28:41):
What do you mean by that, Eddie?

Speaker 10 (28:43):
Just what I say?

Speaker 3 (28:45):
Not as bad as at the soccer stadium where they're with.
Charger fans are out numbered most games. Yeah, that was awful, Yes,
that was really bad.

Speaker 2 (28:53):
That was really bad, But good seats.

Speaker 10 (28:55):
I've ever seen was a good seat there at the
whatever the hell they used to call that play. NFL
season opener last night, Thursday Night football in Kansas City
and the Lions knockoff the defending Super Bowl champions twenty
one at twenty David Montgomery eight yard touchdown run late
extra point gives Detroit the lead and Kansasity could never
get into field goal range to try and get a
late kick and pull it out. Patrick Mahomes did not

(29:18):
have star tied end Travis Kelcey to throw the ball to.
Mahmes finish with two hundred and twenty six yards passing
two touchdowns. We did have a big pick six interception
return for touchdown, although the past did hit his wide
receiver Canarius twenty right in the hands Jared Goffer. Detroit
was a twenty two of thirty five passing two hundred
and fifty three yards a touchdown two wide receiver i'm
On Ross Saint Brown who had seventy one yard receiving
as well for Kansas City, their eight game winning streak

(29:40):
comes to an ending season openers, and Detroit had a
five game losing streak in opening games of the season
that comes to an end as well NFL news, Sincinniti
Bengals and start quarterback Joe Burrow reportedly agreed a five
year contract extension worth two hundred and seventy five million dollars.
Two hundred and nineteen is guaranteed. He's now the highest
paid player in league history. So baseball games of note,
we had the Maritors shutting out the won nothing Seattle

(30:01):
starter Lous Castillo six shotout innings. He and three relievers
combining on the four hit shutout. Seattle's a half game
back of IDOL houston for first in the AOS. For
Tampa Bay, they now four games back of IDOL Baltimore
for first in the AL East. Tommy fam a couple
of homers for the Diamondbacks and their six to two
win in Chicago over the Cubs, Arizona moves into the
final wildcard spot With that victory for Chicago, their two

(30:22):
back of IDOL Milwaukee in the NL Central Race. Dodgers
roll over the Marlins ten to nothing. Miami six game
winning Strea get snapped. They're now a half game out
of that final National League wildcard spot behind Arizona. For
the Dodgers, Ryan Pepio replaced Julio Arias in the rotation
because Durreus suspended and Pepio went six to two thirds
shutout innings. Mookie Betts did it a foul ball off

(30:43):
his foot. Stayed in the game, but afterwards was on
crutches for LA, but x rays reportedly were negative. Braves
over the Cardinals eight to five. Max Freed to win
for LA. He's seven to one on the season, and
Ronald Lacuna Junior had a couple of home runs for the.

Speaker 3 (30:55):
Top team in baseball.

Speaker 10 (30:57):
And now back to LaVar Harrington, Brady, Quinny Jones, Knox,
the tirec Dot, Fox Sports Radio Studio.

Speaker 3 (31:01):
Thanks Eddie, two pros and a cup of Joe here
on Fox Sports Radio. And now it's time for the
progressive play of the day.

Speaker 4 (31:08):
Mahomes out of the gun.

Speaker 3 (31:10):
He's got it, wants to throw.

Speaker 11 (31:11):
Mahomes back throws it is equal, please pick off.

Speaker 12 (31:14):
Picked off by the Lions. Bride Branch with it left side.
He's gone, baby, He's going to the house. Touch down
to tread. Lions deflect it in the air. Branch ran
under it and he took it all the way back.
The Lions were next for point away from tying this game.

Two pros in a cup of show what even enough?
If they're in at please or if they're out all right?

Speaker 9 (33:41):
Lead to lat What do we got football Friday? Lots
of games up this weekend, A couple of battles of
the top twenty five in college football. We got number
twenty Oh Miss at number twenty four to two Lane.
Are you guys enter out on watching that game this week?

Speaker 4 (33:53):
A man? Oh in man?

Speaker 5 (33:55):
First off, Chre Lane's probably the best group of five
team now with all this movement. They're like the last
team that has enjoyed a major conference. Their quarterback, Michael
Pratt's legit had a big week last week through four tutties.
But Willie Fritz, their head coach there in Tulane, he's
got this team rolling.

Speaker 2 (34:12):
Should be a competitive one, you know.

Speaker 5 (34:13):
I Ole Miss put up a ton of points last week.
Jackson Darts their quarterbacks a stud, but it's really about
Quinn Shawn Judkins. They're out the running back, true sophomore.
He'll get a lot of touches in this one. It
should be a ton of points, but it should be
a fun game to watch too.

Speaker 3 (34:28):
I totally disagree, Oh I'm out.

Speaker 4 (34:32):
Geez, wow, I'm in. Well.

Speaker 9 (34:36):
We also got another game out there, number eleven Texas
at number three Alabama. Are you and her out on
Texas Barbecue or Alabama Barbecue?

Speaker 4 (34:44):
I'm driving all day.

Speaker 2 (34:47):
Man. That's a tough one. That's a tough one.

Speaker 5 (34:51):
I don't I don't know that I can pick because
every time I've been to both, I've had amazing barbecue.

Speaker 3 (35:00):
Trying to think if I've had Texas barbecue, like like
actually done in text?

Speaker 4 (35:05):
Have you had Alabama barbie?

Speaker 3 (35:07):
Yeah? At what's that place called what.

Speaker 2 (35:10):
Is a Dreamland?

Speaker 3 (35:11):
Yeah, dreamlam Barbecue. Yeah, I've had Dreamland, but it's got
a lot of pulled I'm not big on pulled pork.
Brisket's pretty good, but I'm not big on pulled pork.
But by default, they gotta Gobama and they're gonna win
this game handily by the.

Speaker 2 (35:26):
Way they are, and they're gonna cover.

Speaker 7 (35:28):
Yeah, Fellas.

Speaker 9 (35:30):
In the NFL, we got Bengals at Brown's also known
as the Battle of Ohio? Are you in or out
on that name? Brady?

Speaker 3 (35:36):
The Battle of Yeah?

Speaker 5 (35:37):
I love this, Dame, man. I grew up in this
this match up. Bernie co Sar versus Boomer Asias in
Barney versus Boom Right, I got a poster in my
room of those two scores. Really, Oh yeah, come on now,
Like I love this matchup, love this game.

Speaker 2 (35:52):
I think Cleveland is one of those.

Speaker 4 (35:54):
Rosters that's super, super talented.

Speaker 5 (35:56):
It's just about putting it all together and finally like
seeing what they're capable of. And we know how good
Cincinnati is at what they're capable of. So it should
be a great game to start off the season.

Speaker 3 (36:07):
Oh man, it's gonna be a fun one. I actually
like Cleveland in this spot. I don't know why I
like Cleveland in the spot.

Speaker 2 (36:14):
Is it in Cleveland, Cincy?

Speaker 3 (36:16):
It's in Cleveland.

Speaker 2 (36:17):
Yeah, that's what I thought.

Speaker 7 (36:18):
Yeah yeah.

Speaker 5 (36:19):
Although they're keeping that elf in the middle of the
field instead of doing something else with the logo at
the fifty yard line.

Speaker 3 (36:24):
Why do they put the massive the the fifty yard line?

Speaker 5 (36:28):
I don't know. I'm not sure. I think they feel
like the elf is I don't know. I guess it's
more of a mascot for him. I'm not I'm not
really sure.

Speaker 4 (36:34):
Will it Will it be on a towel in the
middle of the field. I'm in I'm interested in the
storyline of two big name quarterbacks. Both both make you know,
hit the headline.

Speaker 9 (36:50):
Yeah, I rams at Seahawks Pike Place Market.

Speaker 3 (36:54):
You guys enter out on the Pike Place Market out.

Speaker 2 (36:58):
It's a little touristy. It's kind of the type of place.

Speaker 3 (37:00):
That's not true. I've been by there. It's not true, dude. Well, yeah,
but we had to go to espinol Away.

Speaker 2 (37:08):
We didn't have to go to Away. You wanted to
go to esplay.

Speaker 3 (37:11):
We we were a little frisky that night, you know,
we had those doughnut holes and we said we're not
done yet. A couple of yinglings later, some pilots telling.

Speaker 5 (37:18):
Us about that you wanted to go there?

Speaker 3 (37:23):
All right, Well maybe I did. Yeah, I'm out on
like throwing the fish around, it's just gross. They smell.
The people there work really hard, but you can tell
they're annoyed having to continue to do the same thing
every time. Some game shows up there and the broadcasters
want to film something for TV. So I'm out.

Speaker 4 (37:45):
I'm in. I like traditions, you know, from Pittsburgh, we
have traditions. You know, we like putting French fries on everything.
French fries yeah, I'm in I'm in on it.

Speaker 3 (37:58):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (37:58):
I like fish. I like fresh fish, sosh. And if
you've ever tried to catch a fish that that weighs anything,
you know that they're pretty slick and it's pretty you know,
difficult to handle them fish. So shots out to the
skill level of those guys and how they'd be moving
them around and wrap up your fish.

Speaker 3 (38:16):
When you By the way, when you put a fry
on a sandwich, don't you have to use a crinkle
cut fry as opposed to a regular shoe string.

Speaker 4 (38:24):
I use shoe strings either. They're they're more like steak fries,
not not not steak fries, but more potato eat potato fries,
you know what I mean.

Speaker 2 (38:35):
Like they're.

Speaker 3 (38:37):
You can't explain like those those crinkle slinky style fries
are the way you go on fun.

Speaker 4 (38:42):
I mean, I'm okay with that. I'm not mad at that.
But it's a different type of fry. It's not a
steak fry either, it's not it's not thing cut. It's
like like almost like a boortwalk fry, Like bort rock
fries are pretty yeah, pretty fire, standard standard deal.

Speaker 3 (39:01):
Great point.

Speaker 9 (39:02):
Yeah, guys, when you look at the NFL schedule, you
usually circle the game you gotta watch.

Speaker 3 (39:08):
It's the first week of the season.

Speaker 9 (39:09):
There's a storyline in every game, but I usually circle
the game that I care not to watch. That might
be Cardinals.

Speaker 3 (39:14):
At Commanders this weekend. You guys enter out on this game.
I'm man, Well, now that we bet on it, you
got to be in.

Speaker 5 (39:22):
Yeah, I'm really curious to see the Washington command does.
I really want to see if Sam Howell can continue
what he's done, because if so, look out, dude.

Speaker 2 (39:30):
That could be one of the surprise teams this year.

Speaker 4 (39:32):
It's a lot of positive energy circulating and flowing through
the nation's capital right now too, so it'd be interesting
to see how they're able to handle it.

Speaker 3 (39:41):
Plus, it's probably the last year they're gonna have this
name

Speaker 4 (39:43):
So there's that bom Bom Bom bos
