Good morning, my brother, good morning. Hello, Hi Anthony, Hi Brady.
Speaker 6 (01:44):
Hi Petros. What's going on?
Speaker 3 (01:45):
Brother? Everything's all right good.
Speaker 5 (01:47):
I'm on, I'm here, I'm I'm here, I'm up, I'm
ready to go.
Speaker 6 (01:52):
No no issues this week with the alarm or anything.
Speaker 3 (01:55):
No, not really, uh no, no, I'm good.
Speaker 5 (01:59):
We have an event today in uh in Anaheim for
the last Dodger Angel game of the week and Shoe
Tani's gonna pitch. So we have a show in Anaheim
at Brewery X. It starts at two if anybody's in Los.
Speaker 3 (02:17):
Angeles and interested. So that's that's awesome going on today.
Speaker 4 (02:22):
How how ridiculous is Otanio? Seriously, last night gets robbed
by the triple play right, ropes that ball and then
boom bomb top of the night, wins the game.
Speaker 5 (02:38):
Yeah they didn't win though, right, but you get my
you know, comes up kluts. Yeah, well they went ahead
with that. Kenley Janssen, a former Dodger closer who everybody loves. Actually,
the Dodgers probably should have signed him. He's a lot
cheaper than a lot of the guys they signed, and
he's having a lot better year. Uh, and maybe they'll
(02:58):
sign him next year because he wants to stay in
southern California. But yeah, that was a pretty dramatic moment
to see Kenlee Jansen, who was such a great Dodger
for so long and a record breaking closer for them,
versus Otani. And last night Jansen went up there and
just blew the Dodgers away a couple of strikeouts. And
to see Otani do that was pretty impressive. And he's
(03:22):
a great player. I mean, he's a lot of fun
to watch. He's definitely on his own program and there's
a lot that comes with it. But you know, it's
hard to imagine. The Dodgers are such a cash cow
and have always been. The brand is just huge, and
in the city of Los Angeles it means so much
(03:44):
and always has and they bring in what three four
million almost fans a year.
Speaker 3 (03:52):
It's the most visited sport on Earth. And all of
these things were the.
Speaker 5 (03:57):
Truth before Otani came, and the fact that Otani's there
now and just the branding, the Japanese interests, the Japanese
tourists that show up on days that they're not even
playing and buy thousands of dollars worth ofant merchandise by
the bus load. It really is a phenomenon. And like
(04:20):
you said, Anthony, I mean the guy. It's not like
he just goes up there and strikes out all the time,
though he has struck out a lot this year, and
the strikeout's always been part of his game. But for
him to perform like he does when he does is
pretty remarkable. A triple play which you don't see, and
then the home run against Kenley, and yeah, but they
(04:41):
did lose hey.
Speaker 4 (04:42):
Last thing, and then Britty go for But I'm just curious,
is there concern? How much concern is there of the
Pods because now they're starting to play hot, right, they
had the great trade deadline and now they're playing good.
They've now tied the Dodgers. How much concern is Delvisiniego.
I think there's a lot of concern. I mean, they
made the bunch of moves at the deadline, and they
(05:06):
have a real chip on their shoulder.
Speaker 5 (05:09):
I mean, up until last year, the Dodgers other than
the COVID Championship, and everybody.
Speaker 3 (05:15):
Kind of rolls their eyes at those.
Speaker 5 (05:18):
The Dodgers had underperformed in the playoffs last year, all
of those stigmas got erased. But we've been dealing with
the Dodgers running away with a division and they end
up losing to the Diamondbacks, a team they dominated the
whole year, and then they losing the playoffs of the Diamondbacks,
(05:38):
or they losing the playoffs to the Curly w or
they losing the playoffs of the Padres, which happened not
long ago. Most people the general consensus was that Padres
Dodgers was the best series of the playoffs last year,
and whoever won that series was going to win the
World Series because those were the two best teams.
Speaker 3 (06:00):
Whether that was true or not, that is how it
shook out.
Speaker 5 (06:03):
So I think there's a lot of concern there's going
to be a hell of a series coming up this weekend.
They're tied right now, and to think that the Dodgers,
with this payroll and the way everybody was talking in
the offseason, are in this position in a very heated
divisional bout as the season goes on, I think shocks
(06:26):
a lot of people, because there was they had a
nine game lead in July. Early July, the Dodgers had
a nine game lead, and now that has all but disappeared,
and we got a series coming up this weekend. So
a lot of reasons to stay tuned to the blowtorch
on a five to seven LA Sports here in Los Ange.
Speaker 6 (06:47):
That's right, that's right. And one more reason is the
real estate issue that's going on. Can we dive a
little bit deeper into that with Otani?
Speaker 3 (06:55):
It's not like I know much about it, but it
is interesting.
Speaker 5 (07:00):
I mean, this is what two years in a row,
and there's two stories about him dealing in the world
of not baseball or somebody around him dealing in the
world of not baseball. And we're talking about crazy, weird,
shady business dealings. The epe Mitsuhara thing, which he was
(07:22):
very quickly exonerated of by the FBI. Some people more
skeptical about that than others. And then this, which is
I need to talk to my litigator real estate friend
to understand it a little bit better. But it looks
like they got involved with somebody, you know, a La
Reggie Bush in a much different situation. They got involved
(07:45):
with somebody, that somebody had all their eggs in that basket,
that somebody ended up one way or another feeling screwed over,
and then publicly assuming the guy. So we'll see what happens.
But yeah, that's a little bit of a curveball. No
pun intended. Didn't seem to affect him much last night though.
Speaker 4 (08:04):
Ye listen, we talked about this earlier and I'm dying
to get your thoughts on it.
Speaker 3 (08:10):
So the whole Materier Venmo situation, Are you a Venmo man?
Speaker 5 (08:17):
No, that's funny because most people know how that work.
But if I don't, I don't know how to send
a transaction for money on my phone other than to
buy something for myself, like something stupid like a hat
or a T shirt, you know, a hat that says
I'm not going to hold my horses or something like that.
(08:40):
You know, I can buy stuff on Instagram and I
figured that part out of it out, but I've never
done the Venmo you know. Usually I just flip it
to my wife and then she venmo's, so she does
know how.
Speaker 3 (08:52):
To do that. Obviously. Young people can do all kinds
of other things.
Speaker 5 (08:56):
The John Matteer's a really interesting story, you know, with
this mirrored controversy, and I don't think this is going
to be around much longer.
Speaker 3 (09:04):
I think he's going to wriggle his way out of
this one way or another.
Speaker 5 (09:08):
But last year, matte I mean, you remember, they had
cam Ward up there at.
Speaker 3 (09:15):
Udah or at Washington State.
Speaker 5 (09:18):
He had come from a place called Incarnate word Ye,
and he was up at Washington State and he was
their starter, and their backup was Matier, who was a
good recruit out of the Texas area. Last year, when
the season started, Jake Dickert, who's now the head coach
at Wake Forest, he told us straight.
Speaker 3 (09:39):
Up like, hey, I didn't know this guy was this good.
You know, we didn't know this guy was this good.
Speaker 5 (09:45):
And he just kind of popped out and started putting
up numbers, throwing the ball beautifully, running the ball with
a lot of purpose, and just overall showing a great
will laden games. I mean, he's a fun to watch
and and he's a really really exciting college quarterback. So
(10:07):
I was I was happy to see that when he
transferred to Oklahoma, they got a good running back in
Jayden Ott, the guy from Cal in the transfer portal,
and they brought in his offensive coordinator from Washington State
over to Oklahoma, one of the last breathing remnants of
the air raid era, a guy named Arbuckle, And I
(10:31):
was looking forward to seeing the Sooners play this year with.
Speaker 3 (10:35):
Mattier the engineer behind the center.
Speaker 5 (10:38):
As far as h I mean, I've talked to the
kid a couple times and we've covered his games, and
I can't imagine. I want to believe that he's that
because no one is that galactically stupid, right when you
when you play college football, they tell you a thousand
times about gambling, they talked to you about social media.
(10:59):
This seem like a joke, and that's what he said
it was, And I just want to believe the kid
at face value. I do know a lot of really
stupid football players that might do this. I don't think
Matier would be among them, but I've been wrong in
the past, but I do think this one's gonna blow
over and we'll see him play for Oklahoma this year.
(11:21):
They've had bad luck with quarterbacks though recently.
Speaker 3 (11:25):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (11:25):
Well, the interesting thing about this is it actually dates
back to November of twenty twenty two and obviously he
was at Washington State at the time, I think as
a freshman, and I look at it and I say,
all right, well, what are you gonna do now, Like
I don't know if you look at that with kind
of I don't know, side eye or skepticism as too
the NCAA, And it's like, well, okay, even if he
(11:49):
did do it and it happened back, then, are you
really going to punish him three years later just because
we found out because someone rated on him? How do
you look at it from that standpoint?
Speaker 3 (11:58):
You're right.
Speaker 5 (11:58):
I mean that occurred to me too, And the number
one thing that occurred to me about it was if
he was still at Washington State, would anybody have ever
seen this?
Speaker 3 (12:08):
And the answer is no. You know, in the SEC,
some weirdos digging about.
Speaker 5 (12:14):
Your quarterback, while some weirdo in your in your town
is digging about somebody else's quarterback, and and and so what.
Speaker 6 (12:21):
They do with the South, by the way, that's what
they do down there, I guess. I mean, you'll see
what that board over.
Speaker 5 (12:26):
There, Jo Matyny, Oklahoma's not really the South, but you're right,
you know, I mean they're in the SEC now and
and you know, it's interesting.
Speaker 3 (12:35):
Uh.
Speaker 5 (12:35):
I mean, I've talked to coaches in the SEC that say,
it's no fun to be in the town because if
you're in town and you're not in your office working,
somebody tells you, why aren't you in your office working?
Speaker 3 (12:46):
And and that's kind of that's kind of the gist
of it.
Speaker 5 (12:49):
But I think it takes a real special a hole
to go, I don't care who you are, to go
digging into some kids. Social media is really is really
one of the lower forms of journalism or whatever we
would call covering college football is today. Uh so, yeah,
I would look at it sideways, it completely. I don't
(13:12):
know what you'd do to the kid. It doesn't seem
to me like he's Robert de Niro and Casino as
far as gambling goes, you know, with the big stupid
glasses on, standing blankly. Yeah, and a bunch of a
bunch of and horse racing.
Speaker 6 (13:27):
I don't think we were Matthew McConaughey from like was
it one for the money, two for the money.
Speaker 3 (13:32):
Two for GOA rip that money out of my talents? Yeah? Yeah,
so yeah, I don't know.
Speaker 5 (13:40):
I mean, it's not a nothing story because there's something
there and something to be talked about.
Speaker 3 (13:45):
But I agree with you. I don't. I don't like
seeing the kid. I don't think he's a bad kid.
I don't like seeing it.
Speaker 6 (13:51):
But I gotta throw this out there. By the way,
Obviously that movie didn't leave that big of an impression
on me because I couldn't remember the title. However, the
first time I saw that it premiered, I was in
college and Charlie Weist was our coach, and he took
our entire team and go see that. I want to
say it was maybe during a bye like imagine imagine
(14:12):
the optics of the college and coach taking a bunch
of college.
Speaker 3 (14:16):
Kids to go see two for the model. What was
he into it or something like that. I don't know.
Speaker 7 (14:21):
I mean, it was like it was just a movie.
It was like a movie we could go see. So
it just debuty wanted to go see it. It was
literally it was just like movie night. It was more
of a general w We used to have movie night,
you know.
Speaker 5 (14:33):
USC Pete Carroll ended the practice, but USC football for
I mean probably seventy plus years did a movie night
in uh in in in Hollywood. We would go to
if we had a home game, they would we would
get in the bus and drive from downtown LA to
the Paramount Studios which is on Melrose.
Speaker 3 (14:56):
And uh and and there was a special screening room
there where.
Speaker 5 (15:00):
Some old executive was a big USC guy, and they
would screen us a movie, a new movie that's awesome.
Speaker 3 (15:09):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (15:10):
Well, and you know, I mean, if you've ever been
in a movie theater with a whole football team, I
mean it's every single week during the season. I mean,
we saw everything that came out that you would show
a football team. And then you know, it was such
a practice at USC that we'd go on the road
and they'd put us in theater in a theater, a
(15:31):
local theater, and we'd watch a movie. It was a
big part of USC football tradition that Pete Carroll ended
a couple of stories from that. We saw The water
Boy together before we played, Yeah, right before we played
Stanford in ninety eight, and it took about five minutes
into the movie to where everybody thought that I was
(15:53):
exactly like Bobby Bouchet and filled with rage and shame
and hatred towards myself. And they showed us almost famous,
which was a very kind of a more mushy movie
for the football team to see together, but everybody, everybody
liked it. They showed us Gatica, which nobody understood.
Speaker 1 (16:15):
That.
Speaker 3 (16:15):
You know, we we saw a lot of movies, but.
Speaker 5 (16:17):
I remember we were in Michigan City to see which
is we're usually where Notre Dame's opponent stays you stay
on a holiday, and in Michigan City that smells like
so much chlorine because of the indoor pool.
Speaker 3 (16:34):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (16:34):
No, it's exphyxiating by the time you get out onto
the field and Notre Dame you can barely breathe under
that big sky. But I remember they showed us the
movie with al Pacino and Keanu Reeves and Charlie's Throne,
the Devil's Advocate and half the team, you know, very religious.
Speaker 3 (16:51):
Half the team walked out, you know.
Speaker 5 (16:54):
He was waiting for the movie to be over because,
you know, because of all the Satanism, and people were
not happy about that. So, yeah, a lot of a
lot of memories from seeing them as they never took
a story.
Speaker 3 (17:06):
They did. They probably took the team to see two
for the money, but that was after my time.
Speaker 6 (17:13):
I'm just thinking, like, how did someone not develop a
gambling habit from that because I was very green Petros like,
I didn't grow up in a family where we talked
about betting lines. I knew about odds and all that.
Really didn't learn about it until, you know, I think
someone one of the older guys when I was a
freshman had said something about us being like a big underdog.
I'm like, well, what do you mean a big underdog?
Like how do you know that? And he's like, see
(17:35):
this here, kids like this, this is how many points
all right where we're expected to lose by it?
Speaker 3 (17:41):
And I was like, no, well you know it wasn't.
Look I mean, in our time coming up, we didn't.
I mean, you and l V was a dead was
a dead like a dead zone like Kansas football was
for years. Right.
Speaker 5 (17:54):
You and l V was a dead zone because they
were in Vegas. You would never imagine Las Vegas having one, two, three,
four major sports teams. It just would never happen. I mean,
guys like Eric Dickerson will tell you they discouraged players
from going to Las Vegas. They didn't want players in
(18:16):
Las Vegas. The whole embracing of gambling by our sports
and you know, it's not new in Europe, you know,
they have that you can bet at the kiosk, at
the stadium, you know, and it's been like that for
a long time.
Speaker 3 (18:32):
But here that was.
Speaker 5 (18:34):
Really stigmatized for a long long time, and maybe for
a good reason. Having a bad gambling habit is one
of the worst possible things you can have to destroy
your family and destroy everybody around you, So I understand.
But it just wasn't something we knew much about, right Brady.
I mean, it was more for those weird Matthew McConaughey
(18:55):
types in those movies. And now like like people every
seems to understand what an over is, what an under is.
Speaker 3 (19:03):
What a hook is.
Speaker 4 (19:04):
You know the betting line, Well, it's dangerous and all
kid decide, right, especially for young men, Like they have
these apps and I had to get rid of it.
Speaker 3 (19:15):
One of my kids had it and it wasn't real money,
but it was like my little one.
Speaker 4 (19:21):
Goes, oh, yeah, I got fifty thousand on the on
the pacers in the in the NBA five.
Speaker 5 (19:27):
There's a reason that that it was. There was a
reason that it was stigmatized for a long time.
Speaker 3 (19:32):
Yeah, and now now that.
Speaker 5 (19:34):
It's kind of a free for all, you know, you
try to hammer it into the college football players heads
or whoever's playing, like, listen, you can't be involved in
this at all. And uh it's a it's a fine line.
And then I think it's a I think it's a
lot tougher world for these guys. But you know, I
think that's overall. I think that's the case, top to bottom,
(19:55):
because most guys that I played with were all an
agreement that we'd all be kicked off the football team
if we lived in the era of social media.
Speaker 3 (20:04):
Yeah, we all would.
Speaker 5 (20:05):
I mean we were just they recruited different people, we
acted differently, and we would not have survived. Uh So
these kids are a little bit more used to being monitored.
They're a little bit more buttoned up than we were.
But it's I'm surprised we don't have more problems with
with gambling and and and it seems to be more
(20:28):
and more prevalent every year with weird little stories like this.
Speaker 4 (20:31):
Well the Cleveland did with the two relievers, including your clothes,
their class A.
Speaker 3 (20:35):
He was really good. Who's going to go down? Yeah?
Speaker 5 (20:40):
Well, first first pitch, prop bet he's gonna throw a curve. Okay, right, Yeah,
you know, it's it's too much of a it's too
much of a of a temptation, I guess to skillet
on the stove.
Speaker 3 (20:52):
But yeah, that I do think the materier thing is
gonna be okay, though I hope all right, last thing,
you're Overall thoughts of.
Speaker 5 (21:01):
The rankings, oh, I only pay attention to the Joel
Klatt top twenty five top twenty five, I only pay
attention to Joel's No, it's unfortunate. The only thing I
really hate about the rankings is if you start out
(21:22):
in the top ten, you really have to prove how
much you suck to fall out right right. And then
if you start out outside the top twenty five, I mean,
it takes you till mid October of winning games till
anybody recognizes that you exist. And we I mean, look,
we don't lack TV coverage, and we have a big playoff,
(21:44):
and most everybody that that proves it is probably going
to get in. So it's not the end of the
world like the BCS or anything like that. But your ranking,
if you're not ranked early, it can hurt you a
little bit as far as attention goes, and that shouldn't
be the case. I mean, we really shouldn't have a
top twenty five until you know, October, but we do
(22:09):
it because it garners attention and some people like to
watch a game that has a little number next to
one of the teams or both of them. So but
that's really the only reason it exists. And again, the
only top twenty five that's worth a crap is the
Joel Klatt are you?
Speaker 6 (22:25):
Are you an excited? Though? In all seriousness, this season,
I'm gonna go.
Speaker 5 (22:29):
To ann Arbor, No, not ann Arbor, I gotta go
to East Lansing to start out. Now they've changed my
first game three times, So I'm gonna go to Michigan
and watch watch Jonathan Smith and Aiden Childs against Western,
and then I'm gonna come home the next day and
do Fresno versus Clay Helton, E. J. Warner versus Georgia
(22:50):
Southern and we'll go from there. But yeah, it's always Look,
We've talked about it a whole bunch, Brady in this space,
the college football offs, and we talked about it in
the seminar. The college football offseason has been terrible, and
that the stories aren't fun to cover. This last one
about Matier is just like that, and it's all about
(23:13):
the transfer portal and nil and player selfishness and teams
being uh callous and all all the crap that we
have in the off season that makes us so unsavory.
Thank god we have football games to celebrate and we
can put all the other stuff on the back.
Speaker 3 (23:29):
Murder. Amen, brother, listen, enjoyed the game today, That would
be fun. So try my best. Appreciate your your your
blass as always. Man, Thanks better, thank you, Appreciate you guys,

Speaker 6 (25:19):
He's a funny dude. Man, he's out in his mind.
Speaker 4 (25:23):
But you know, we've been talking a lot this morning
about social social media and the Materi thing, and it's
the truth, Like what you can't what are you going
to do like what, like, what do people expect to
be to have done with this? Like nothing, nothing should happen.
Speaker 6 (25:45):
No, I don't think so. I mean, look, if there
was some sort of wrongdoing, you know, there probably should
be some sort of mediation that that takes place where
you know, he's able to make sure that he doesn't
have an issue if he was doing it, and they
set the proper precedent moving forward. But that's the reality
of it is, you know, something that happened that long ago.
(26:06):
If it did happen and obviously he's illegal, how do
you go about penalizing years later I had different school,
you know, entirely, and then that sets the precedent for
the next person that happens or the next person that
they find out about. Say, it's just a very slippery slope.
I think honestly, the NCAA doesn't need anything more on
their plate. This surely isn't into one of the things.
(26:27):
But I'm not sure how you go about how you
go about handling I mean, I really, I really feel
like there's some people out there who would probably want
to see him be punished because he did something wrong.
But again, I mean, I don't even know if this
has been confirmed yet no substantiate.
Speaker 4 (26:44):
I don't even know how it gets labeled, right, and
so it's labeled sports betting, but I don't know. I mean,
who knows. It could be just an inside thing. The
way Vegmo works, you know, you can manipulate. That's why Arch,
that's why Arts had to get off it, because they
were trying to which.
Speaker 3 (27:06):
On his page too.
Speaker 6 (27:08):
Which it's tough too because for some of these kids,
you know, not that Venmo is the platform you're going
to be, you know, using to make content or to
work with different brands as a partner. But you just
kind of talk about the toxicity of you know, where
we're at with social media for these young guys, and
it's like you almost have to have someone else handle
it for you, which also is unfortunate that you can't
(27:31):
share with your fans because there's some people who want
to spoil it, you know, or there's you know, there's
people out there who want to say heinous things and
you know, we won't have to deal with that or
put that in your life. So yeah, it's it's unfortunately
that's how it has to be, but in some cases
it's probably better off that way.
Speaker 4 (27:48):
Right, I need a ruling from you, and especially since
we found out about Lee, so I need.
Speaker 3 (27:57):
I need a ruling.
Speaker 4 (27:59):
We're at dinner the other night and it was real
nice dinner and a bunch of friends of mine and
all have kids, and we wound up all being there
with the sons and mine was the youngest. But we're
all there a nice restaurant like in Philadelphia. So we
got this discussion about because it was all men ordering desserts.
(28:22):
Now the kids different, but somebody were a dessert and
a guy said, you werena eat dessert and he quoted Hemingway,
which is real men drink their dessert. That's what Hevingway
once said about in the company of men ordering dessert
because he got, hey, the dessert track comes out. I
(28:45):
don't know about you, but I usually don't get it,
Like my wife wud get it once in a while,
but I'm usually full from the dinner, right, like, because
I want to eat the dinner. I'm looking forward to
the meal, So I'm not that big of dessert guy.
Speaker 3 (28:58):
You know, we got it. There was a incredible big.
Speaker 4 (29:01):
Steak right that we wanted, and so between all that
a big dinner, Like I'm just going with a cup
of coffee and after did a drink or whatever, and
he said, there's one guy goes home, Man, let me
see that the dessert. You know, they bring over the
desserts and what they look like. And he's looking at
the cake. I want the cake. And he was getting
(29:22):
ripped by another guy. So I need a ruling I
started out.
Speaker 6 (29:29):
For me personally, I look at it this way. I
feel like, if you're with a bunch of guys, you're
either all in or you're all out. I don't think
it can just be like one person getting it, you know,
especially if you're getting like coffee or something. That kind
of makes sense. But again, unless I'm with my wife,
I'm not really looking to get dessert, you know. So
it's surprising because I feel like guys usually just they
(29:53):
tend to be a little more transactional where they go there,
they eat their meal, they're done with their meal. You know,
you kind of say you're goodbye as you move on
with your life. I maybe it's just me, but you
had enough time, You had enough time to converse over
like the apps and whatever the dinner was, and maybe
a few you know, drinks beforehand that you should be good,
(30:13):
Like I don't. I don't think we need to spend
another forty minutes while they're making dessert and then they
got to bring out their Just that's just me now, Brady.
I think Brady, you.
Speaker 9 (30:24):
And I have had dessert like a at a meal
or once or twice, and I agree it has to
be like the whole table has to be in it,
which in that.
Speaker 6 (30:32):
In that case it was the whole table. There's three
of us and it was you, me and Jonas and
we did and also is because we that's also a
different circumstance because here's the issue. We had a bottle
of wine which Lee ordered another one Anthony at the
end of this dinner hold on and so at that
point then you're like, well, what are you gonna do?
You know, cork it and like walk around. I think
(30:52):
we're in Ireland for this dinner. You're thinking of Vegas, Lee,
which someone bought us one and then Lee just took
with them, which is different. But in this case he
ordered up another bottle is out of control. He ordered
up another bottle and it came towards the end of dinner.
So then at that point, like you're trying to enjoy dinner,
(31:12):
but you're not gonna like chug a bottle of wine.
And so I think we ended up ordering dessert because of.
Speaker 9 (31:18):
That, right, right, that is true and and also goes
with what kind of dessert you're getting, Like there's a
certain things that you're not going to necessarily share with
the guys that you would share with with a date.
Speaker 6 (31:29):
Right, Oh, I'm not sharing a dessert if I'm getting
a dessert. Like, let's be clear on that. If you're
with a bunch of guys and you're sharing dessert, yeahs, yes, yeah, yeah,
even Lorena do that.
Speaker 9 (31:42):
And speaking of you know, drinking your dessert, there's there's
good desserts that go with with liquor or liquor, trustimately,
I know you know this. Yeah, get some get some
Grand Martieg. There's sometimes people make Grand Martie cakes, but
you can put Grand martiegoes great with ice cream and
stuff like that.
Speaker 6 (31:58):
There's a bunch of different things.
Speaker 3 (31:59):
You're you're not doing that, are you?
Speaker 9 (32:02):
Uh well, I'm not doing it with the guys, But
uh I done, I've done.
Speaker 3 (32:07):
But some mu's picked.
Speaker 4 (32:08):
So you're one of these I know this, right, So
if you know that somebody's picking the tab up.
Speaker 6 (32:14):
Uh huh you go all in?
Speaker 3 (32:17):
Yeah, oh yeah, baby, Brady knows.
Speaker 6 (32:20):
Yeah, I do know, because Lee has never picked up
a tabage entire life. That's not true. Dinner, I've been
a part of it for you. Yes, it's trust me.
You've never seen shorter arms and you've seen that Lee
to lap at a dinner table, Anthony, anytime that the
check comes, it almost looks like he doesn't even have ours.
Speaker 9 (32:37):
Once that well, they're they're busy, they're busy putting that
wine to the mouth, you know, the bend and dad elbow.
Speaker 4 (32:44):
So yeah, oh my god, that's great. All right, all right,
we're gonna take quick to you. We'll come back leftovers.
You know what sucks? Right Like, I wanted to do
this thing where we go through the top five play
of each program, big program in this century, but the
(33:05):
whole show got away from us.
Speaker 3 (33:07):
So I wanted to do Texas. Let's just do Notre Dame.
Can you do that?
Speaker 4 (33:13):
Obviously screwed yourself, and let's go five. Let's go five
for the Irish. Because I got a buddy of mine
who is a huge Notre Dame fan. I'll explain it
to you coming up but he's a huge notor fan.
He loves you, so he like he's only interested in
listening now because of you, not because of me.
Speaker 3 (33:34):
And when I've been friends with him since I was
a kid. His name is Boo. So well, I'll tell
you about it.
Speaker 4 (33:40):

right after we get off the air. All right, brother,
So I wanted to do this top five of the
two thousands, and everything just got away from so much
to discuss and talk about. But I got a buddy
of mine, so Boo Rotted. We grew up together Boo
(34:47):
so boosuh foamily from Ireland and he's got very pal skin.
So to call him Boo as you know, cause the
ghost and it just be stuck. And his real name
is Dave, but we call Boom So. He's a huge
Notre Dame fan. When we were eighteen, he got the
fighting Irish tattooed on his calf. So we're a cliche,
(35:09):
all right. He's like, dude, you work with Brady Quinn toda.
Speaker 8 (35:16):
Ma.
Speaker 3 (35:16):
I'm like yeah. He's like, I want to listen to Brady.
I don't care about you. I get you all the time.
Speaker 4 (35:23):
So he goes he's Brady, who is top five excluding yourself,
top five of this century Irish?
Speaker 6 (35:33):
Okay, the number one's easy. That'd be man Ti Tao.
I think when you look at you know, what he
did in particular in twenty twelve like kind of easy,
you know. I I was talking about this the other
day with someone. He finished a runner up as a
heisman as a linebacker. That's incredibly difficult to do, you know.
I think, like my brother in law, Aj he finished
(35:55):
like fifth, which again like for a defensive player, especially
a line it's almost impossible. And I was actually making
the case not to get off on a complete tangent,
but that Orlando Pace, you can make the case is
the greatest Ohio State Buckeye ever because I think he
finished seventh or eighth in the Heisman as a lineman,
(36:16):
which you know, unless you go way way back like
that is absolutely absurd to think that someone thought you
were so dominant as an offensive lineman that you would
finish in the Heinsman. I mean, it's just it's absurd.
But anyway, I would start with Tao, I would then
say Quentin Nelson Zach Martin. I'd say those two as
(36:36):
far as offensive linemen, I think they were unit's when
all Americans just absolute maulers. If you haven't seen the
clip of Quentin Nelson, I believe he was. I think
he was picking over and picking up a linebacker who
either delayed blitz or like Key blitzed, and he absolutely
ruins this kid's weekend, like just completely demolishes him. But
(36:59):
that clip is still viral somewhere. You gotta go look
at that. And then I would say, like Tyler Dnifer,
Kyle Rudolph, Jalen Smith. So I know that's like I
did six, but I had multiple positions kind of in there.
But I mean, man, Jalen Smith was so much fun
to watch.
Speaker 4 (37:16):
Man.
Speaker 6 (37:16):
Yeah, yeah, I mean he was so much fun to watch.
What a hell of a player. Uh And obviously Kyle Rudolph, Tyler, Riifer,
guys I didn't get a chance to throw to. But
you know, guys who won the Mackie and all Americans
all all that kind of stuff. So uh, very very talented,
dominant players during that during their time.
Speaker 3 (37:35):
I love it.
Speaker 4 (37:35):
Great list, great list. All right, take it away that
you got nuggets for us.
Speaker 2 (37:41):
These might smell a little fun, incredible, but they're still good.
Time to find out what's last.
Speaker 3 (37:50):
Lee's guys.
Speaker 9 (37:52):
Something out of the Cincinnati opened in tennis that happened yesterday.
Emma Redikan was in the middle. It was in the
very critical juncture in her third set, trying to win
the game, and a baby started crying. It went on
for quite a while. She started yelling it's been ten
minutes to the to the umpire who hid it back,
saying it's a child. Do you want me to send
the child? Out of the stadium. The entire crowd started applauding,
(38:16):
what do you guys think is that? Is that kind
of the right way to go. The umpire eventually did say, yeah, okay,
I'll send somebody, but I can't do anything right at
this moment and made them play on.
Speaker 6 (38:28):
I mean, come on, this is how I know, like
we're in a bad spot in society, and to me, yeah,
it's like, look, the parents probably should have taken the
kid out, but we're not going to make that big
of a fuss about a baby. Like, if you're the athlete,
just play throw it. I can't come on, it's flipping tennis.
Speaker 3 (38:47):
Like this is I mean, you're not. This is like
for the money. I don't care.
Speaker 6 (38:54):
Like people just it's a baby. It's like you're gonna
make that big of a deal about a baby.
Speaker 9 (39:02):
It could be well, you know, it's one of those
sports where.
Speaker 3 (39:04):
They stop talking.
Speaker 6 (39:07):
Lee, have a kid, figure out.
Speaker 4 (39:08):
I gotta tell you, Figure, I'm tired of the assault
on children in society.
Speaker 6 (39:15):
It's a populations down.
Speaker 3 (39:17):
Everyone like no one doys have kids.
Speaker 6 (39:19):
His selfish ambassaards have some pr they are Yeah, Lee,
you are.
Speaker 3 (39:25):
You're thirty seven go have a kid.
Speaker 6 (39:27):
Put the bottle down, Lee, have a kid.
Speaker 3 (39:29):
Come on, I'm good, I'm all right. I mean nothing.
Speaker 4 (39:33):
Oh if I hear one more story on this kid
was crying, baby crying on the airplane.
Speaker 3 (39:38):
Blah blah blah blah. Their children.
Speaker 9 (39:41):
Maybe they're too busy with their with their food, because
it's been reported that this wasn't at the Sinsey Open,
but at the US Open, which is coming up. They're
gonna bring back caviar and chicken nuggets. Good little staple
there for the US Open, those things together, apparently they do.
Speaker 6 (39:56):
Yeah. I mean it's not a caviar gust, so I
wouldn't know about that.
Speaker 4 (39:59):
I'd rather bring in a bunch of babies just to
cry while mother man trying to play.
Speaker 6 (40:06):
It's like we need to I think did the Livetour
prove that we don't need to be quiet for golf? Like,
can't the guys like make him play through it like
it's okay exactly. You know you're gonna have a bad
shot sometimes anyway, Dude.
Speaker 3 (40:17):
You're playing over for a hundred thousand people. Yeah, stop,
Oh that's gonna do it for us. Everybody have a
great day. We love it seeing themar
