Your Tuesday morning.
Speaker 1 (00:51):
We appreciate you doing so, as we take you all
the way up until the end of this hour nine
am Eastern Time, six o'clock Pacific. So I want to
ask this to start off this hour because we do
have a new twist on a story we discussed earlier.
Do we still have the Mike Brown, the Bengals team president,
talking about the negotiations with Trey Hendrickson. Do we still
(01:14):
have that from yesterday? So the Bengals have this annual luncheon.
It's the only time Mike Brown is available to the
media all year, so this is it. And there are
concerns about Shamar Stewart, their first round pick who's not signed,
and also Trey Hendrickson who's looking for a new deal
and has not gotten it yet. And this was the
(01:34):
Bengals president yesterday talking about negotiating with Trey Hendrickson.
Speaker 4 (01:40):
We aren't going to trade Trey. We're working to get
Trey signed. As we speak here. There are guys over
in the office working to get that. I think it'll
get done. It is the way Trey can be. He
(02:00):
We like Trey as a person. He's a good guy,
but when it comes to these negotiations, and we've been
through a few of them with him, he pushes hard,
he gets emotional. We never have an easy time of it.
(02:20):
But there's one thing that is consistent. It always gets done,
and I think this one will. But we'll see. I've
been proven wrong before, but I have pretty confident that
we'll get there at the end.
Speaker 1 (02:34):
According to Adam Schefter, again, Mike Brown, Bengals President talking
about the Trey Hendrickson possible deal getting done. According to
Adam Schefter of ESPN, Trey Hendrickson will not be reporting
to training camp today with the rest of the Bengals.
He told ESPN. Hendrickson has said he would not play
under his current contract and he is dug in and
(02:56):
sticking to his word. And Hendrickson followed that up by
posting on social media a picture on Instagram of him
driving down a road in Florida. So, last I checked, Uh,
that's not where the Bengals training camp is anywhere near Florida.
So it appears that Trey Anderson is yeah, no, listen,
I'm not playing under this deal.
Speaker 3 (03:18):
And and here we go.
Speaker 5 (03:19):
So those guys Mike Brown was referring to are playing
tittley winks. They're in the back room or maybe you
got a hand of poker going on, Like, yeah, we're
working on that contract. Yeah, sure we are. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (03:32):
Do you think here's here's something else. I think Pete
is also going to do. Pete Prisco. When we catch
up with him, he's like, and he does he said
this before, He's going to say, listen, all these guys
say that they're not going to play. They're not going
to play, They're not going to play, and all of
a sudden the season rolls around and they show up
and play. I don't think Trey Hendrickson is I actually
(03:52):
believe this one. He really is dug in and.
Speaker 5 (03:56):
He should be. And the fact that given his production
at his age like this is like this is your
best shot at most organizations would have probably signed him
are extendedive by now. Unfortunately it's not that it's the Bengals.
And to further that point, there's a reason why Carson
Palmer got frustrated with the Bengals. Yeah, and he ended
up moving on. And I'm not trying to foreshadow that
(04:17):
for Joe Burrow, but I've said this and again, you know,
the people have tried to kind of defend the Bengals organization.
There's a reason why a guy like Carson Palmer, who
by all accounts awesome guy, great quarterback, everything else that
you'd want, would want to leave an organization because he
(04:37):
saw the running on the wall. And you do have
to wonder that if they're once again playing Kansas City, Buffalo, Baltimore,
whoever you want to talk about, and they drive down
to get a score to go ahead, and they have
to consistently watch their defense give up a drive to
(04:58):
any one of those teams and they get beat, whether
it's for the division and the playoffs, and they get
knocked out. He's gonna keep thinking to himself, like, this
is not an organization that's willing to build a roster
around me and figure out a way of doing so.
Speaker 1 (05:12):
I mean, listen that the dollar store of the NFL
just is what it is. Bengal fans can get upset
about it and get pissy about it if they want.
Facts are facts, and they do have a history of this.
Carson Palmer basically retired. I don't want to be here,
like we're not holding you're not holding up your end
of the bargain.
Speaker 3 (05:28):
I don't want to be here.
Speaker 1 (05:29):
And he walked, and I just you think about and
I brought this point up last week, Just think about
where they would be if they didn't have Joe Burrow.
Like they've got one of the better quarterbacks in the NFL,
a guy who's got all the credentials potentially and you know,
six seven, eight years from now to be a Hall
of Famer, and they're nickel and diming on the defensive
(05:51):
front and say whatever you want about Kansas City, and
they've got Patrick Mahomes, and they've got they just recently
they just signed Karlofta to an extension. They've got they
draft well, and their defense has really been arguably the
most consistent part of their team the past couple of years.
Speaker 3 (06:11):
Like if you if.
Speaker 5 (06:12):
They've signed Spagnola too extensions, They've paid him handsomely to
keep him from becoming a head coach elsewhere.
Speaker 1 (06:18):
Yeah, I just look at it and go if I'm
a Bengals fan, this frustrates the hell out of me.
Speaker 3 (06:22):
But it's par for the course, is how they operate.
Speaker 1 (06:24):
So Trey Hendrickson, that is the update posting on social
media driving down a road in Florida just nowhere to
be seen when it comes to the Bengals training camp.
Speaker 5 (06:33):
Hey Lee, do you have to know what road that
is in the picture? Could you maybe effort that? I
don't know if you want to use groc or some
other ai or if you just want to take a
guest on the top of your head. Oh, do you
think he's bluffing? Do you think he's actually in Ohio?
And no, no, I'm just no, no, I'm not saying
that that'd be your conspiracy theory on this. I just
want Lee to give us his best guess of what
road that would be in Florida, given that we're putting
(06:53):
him on the spot, we know how hard this is,
but also how early this in the morning, and see
if Lee's brain's actually working?
Speaker 1 (07:00):
Lee, what are we looking at here? I mean, it
is a getaway day for Lee. It's not going to
be here the rest of the week.
Speaker 6 (07:05):
So well, groc has answered saying you haven't provided an
image with any specific details about the road or landmarks, signage,
or location. So even Grok is having an issue with this.
I'm not too familiar with.
Speaker 5 (07:19):
Give me a guest, Lee, like, which road do you
think it is? You know? I mean you were yesterday
if I'll just give you a moment to research this.
You were researching hotels conference rooms down in the South
Florida Miami area, as well as Tutsi's, one of the
local strip clubs.
Speaker 1 (07:37):
Yeah, did anybody call you back on that lead? Didn't
you leave requests to some of those places about getting
Lloyd hal a conference room as opposed to some strip club.
Speaker 6 (07:47):
Yeah, I will have to double check, because I did
give them my other email and that I don't usually
have open. You know, I'm going to guess this is
the Beachline Expressway, is what I'm going to say. Opposed
to Alligator Alley. I mean, i'd say it's one of
the two of those.
Speaker 5 (08:01):
It's it's not Alligator Alley. He wouldn't be driving across
the street. Not Alligator Alley. Okay, your first guest was
probably closer.
Speaker 6 (08:09):
A double check on these conference rooms as we as
we talk about.
Speaker 1 (08:13):
Oh, good luck, Tray, your owner dismissed you that. Listen,
he's always get Don Rickles.
Speaker 3 (08:18):
Yeah, listen.
Speaker 1 (08:19):
Don Rickles dismissed you earlier and said, ah, and he
gets really emotional, but we usually always get it done,
like it's okay, all right, Well he's in he's in Florida.
Alligator Alley. What the hell is alligator Alley.
Speaker 5 (08:32):
It's the I don't know, if you're want to call
just a highway from the east side to the west
side or vice versa. You can see a bunch of
alligators on the side of it.
Speaker 3 (08:42):
Sounds like a country pop singer Alligator Alley. Heck yeah, yeah.
Speaker 6 (08:47):
I did get a response from the Palms Hotel and SPA,
not with any prices, though they can have a lot
of follow up questions that's on me.
Speaker 1 (08:54):
Like what how horny is the NFLPA executive director, Like,
We're not gonna haggle on prices here.
Speaker 6 (09:02):
They do ask about food and beverage and hostesses and
what you need, what kind of break how many guests,
how many rooms you need?
Speaker 5 (09:10):
Well, I guess not only for the NFLPA, but for
the Carlisle Group they will no longer be needing that either.
Speaker 3 (09:15):
Yes, Lloyd how lost that gig too?
Speaker 1 (09:18):
So I'm not trying to the whole thing is bananas.
Speaker 3 (09:24):
I'm Lloyd, how was you know?
Speaker 1 (09:27):
He was working with the Carlisle Group and now he
stepped down from that. So the NFLPA is gone, the
Carlisle Group has gone. I don't know if there's a
management role at Tootsi's that's available. Maybe he can go
on Express Pros and check that out. Maybe that's a possibility.
But this whole thing has really really gone sideways for
(09:49):
him in a hurry. And again, nobody would have known
anything about it had the transcripts from the testimony in
court not gotten out on them from the grievance like
nobody would have known anything about this. It would have
never seen the light of day. JC Tretter would have
stayed put, Lloyd how would have stayed put. Nothing would
have changed except those trans gripts became public because Pablo
(10:12):
Torri got ahold of them, and now Lloyd How's lost
everything because of that. It's just bananas. And so if
these are the two instances we know about, and you
knew he had prior issues in the past, I just
they say they vetted him, they say they looked into it,
they say they did their due diligence, that they felt
(10:32):
comfortable about the hiring.
Speaker 3 (10:33):
All of that, I don't know how you.
Speaker 1 (10:36):
Got to that point, as if you're the NFLPA just
doesn't make any sense to me.
Speaker 5 (10:40):
I'm almost wondering why the Carla group took so long.
I guess he resigned, but I'm sure there was internal
pressure very similar to the NFLPA. Even though people said
the PA was caught off guard or shocked by it,
I don't know how that would be the case based
on all the information that's come out. It feels like
that's just kind of what you say to nice when
(11:01):
someone's made a mistake. But it's surprising the Carlisle Group
he would still be employed there and held on through
all this too, for as long as he did.
Speaker 1 (11:10):
Man, Tutsis must be a place. That must be a
damn good time. I mean, if you're willing to risk
it all like that fresh off a flight, just based
on the pictures, I get it. I'll be honest with you.
I'd rather go there than sit in some of these
meetings for the NFLPA knowing you're going to lose in
your negotiations with the owners. Man, I'll be at Tutsis.
(11:32):
I'll see you guys over there.
Speaker 5 (11:33):
This does call into question that the chicken or the
egg theory here. Is this more of like his style
with the NFLPA, or maybe it's one of the style
of the Carlisle Group. Maybe maybe actually that's where the
habit was built and it just blood over into the NFLPA.
Maybe maybe that private equity space. Maybe maybe they've revolutionized
(11:54):
the meeting space where they're utilizing stript clubs and you know.
Speaker 3 (11:57):
Maybe there's people the Carlisle Group going, wait, we can't
do that.
Speaker 5 (12:00):
Yeah, we're not allowed to do that.
Speaker 3 (12:06):
Where is the Carlisle Group based out of by the way.
Speaker 5 (12:10):
I'm not sure I would say for Lee to be
on that, but Lee looks like he's deep into Lee.
What are you doing? Are you answering the questionnaire from
the Hotel pennsylvani.
Speaker 6 (12:21):
That as well as trying to figure out this road?
Speaker 5 (12:23):
Lee? You could just pass on the whole questionnaire thing
like it's it's over. Man.
Speaker 6 (12:27):
Oh I'm not doing.
Speaker 5 (12:28):
That, okay, all right, So let me just look up.
Speaker 1 (12:31):
I'm looking up strip clubs near the Carlisle Group just
to see this. Does savannahs on Hannah castaways, sensations, bar
and grills? Like he could basically just you know, put
a blindfold on and start swinging at the strip club
(12:52):
Pinata and just a bunch would fall out. I mean,
so look, hey, Woyd Howe. Hopefully everything gets sorted out
and and he bounces back. But if you're looking for him,
probably a couple of good guesses where you can find him,
just not in an NFLPA meeting or with the Carlisle
Group any longer. So it is two pros and a
cup of Joe here on Fox Sports Radio, Brady Quinn,
(13:14):
Jonas Knox with you here coming up next. Though Brady
Quinn has called his shot. Pete Prisco is going to
defend somebody in the NFL that nobody else is defending.
Find out if he's one hundred percent accurate on that,
and it's yours next here on FSR.
Speaker 7 (13:32):
Be sure to catch live editions of Two Pros and
a Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn, LeVar Errington, and
Jonas Knox weekdays at six am Eastern, three am Pacific

Speaker 1 (13:47):
Two Pros and a Cup of Joe, Fox Sports Radio,
Brady Quinn, Jonas Knocks with you here coming up, and
we'll call it a little over twenty minutes from now,
we'll close up shop with another edition of Lee's Leftovers.
We have been promised one of the better performances in
Lee's Leftovers that you've heard in the history of the segment.
We've been promised that, so that'll be yours here again
(14:09):
a little over twenty minutes from now. Right now, though,
we welcome in the smooth operator himself, the one and
only Pete Prisco, senior NFL columnist or CBS Sports, CBS
Sports HQ analyst. If you want that smoke, you can
get it on x at Prisco CBS.
Speaker 3 (14:25):
Good morning, Pete. How are you feeling good?
Speaker 8 (14:28):
Guys?
Speaker 5 (14:28):
How are you We're in today vacation?
Speaker 8 (14:32):
Yeah, okay? Good for him?
Speaker 5 (14:34):
Yeah, probably somewhere down in Florida he might be Maybe
he's passing by a Trey Hendrickson at some point.
Speaker 8 (14:39):
Yeah, so yeah, well you know what, Trey Henderson will
be in Campston enough.
Speaker 5 (14:45):
Oh why is that, Pete? I mean, is it because
the Bengals. I mean, let's do this, Pete. Let's set
you up. We actually have some sound from Duke Tobin
in regards to this this situation which with Shamar Stewart.
We talked about that one first, go ahead, Okay, the negotiations.
Speaker 8 (15:03):
Yeah.
Speaker 9 (15:03):
I won't get into all the details of it. You know,
I don't blame Schamar. He's listening to the advice that
he's paying for. I don't understand the advice. I don't
agree with it. I'm not the one paying for it.
But that's where it is.
Speaker 5 (15:17):
If I thought we were.
Speaker 9 (15:18):
Treating him unfairly, it would be a different story. But
we're treating him fairly with all the rest of the
draft picks and miss year's draft.
Speaker 5 (15:27):
So who's in the right, who's in the wrong. Here,
is it Shamar Stewart is agent? Or is it Duke
Tobinis and Stati.
Speaker 8 (15:33):
Bengals Shamar Stewart is agent? I mean, well, first off,
let's start about Shamar Stewart. He's raw as can be.
Speaker 5 (15:44):
Okay, Okay, he needs all the.
Speaker 8 (15:46):
Work in the world to learn how to play football
the right way. Okay, he's got a ton of talent.
He didn't do workouts during his leading up into the
into the draft process, individual workouts because a lot of
teams asked him to and he didn't.
Speaker 5 (16:00):
The Bengals still drafted them the first round, surprising.
Speaker 8 (16:02):
Well, okay, well the Bengals. Now that's that. Look. Would
I have drafted them in the first round? Noh, Bengals did.
Speaker 5 (16:08):
But the Bengals did.
Speaker 8 (16:10):
But he needs to be learning how to play football,
and he's getting by, he's getting banned by from his agents.
I'm sorry, Bengal.
Speaker 5 (16:19):
You don't have any take from the Bengal side of
this thing, because because notoriously they're cheap, right, we always
talk about that, but there's no other.
Speaker 8 (16:25):
That would look down to the old Bengals. The Bengals
had a reputation being cheap, thrifty and every every fast
There's still not it. No. I mean they just went
out and doled out tons of money to their wide receivers,
did they not?
Speaker 5 (16:38):
Did they?
Speaker 7 (16:38):
Though?
Speaker 5 (16:38):
I mean Jamar Chase got the big deal, Higgins, if
you really break it down, isn't quite as good of
a deal.
Speaker 8 (16:44):
This sounds like it's coming from a Brown Guys.
Speaker 5 (16:49):
This sounds sounds like this sounds like you're doing. Here's
the thing, Pete. Let me let you in a secret.
I predicted that before the segment you would do exactly
what you're doing right now because you always defend the
Bengals in Duke Tobin and we talked about a little
bit about the history of you saying Joe Burrow would
win multiple Super Bowls during in the next ten years
(17:09):
when he got drafted.
Speaker 8 (17:10):
Said one. I said one. And by the way, if
you would think about that for a second, if I
really believe that that wasn't making an impact, I think
Stewart should be in there and Henderson should be in there.
Speaker 5 (17:20):
So okay, so let's let's let's get back to this
Shamar Stewart. Let's get back on track. What they're doing,
within the language of the contract would be setting a precedent,
which they have not done previously with any of the
first round picks. There's other players who are under contract,
we've redone their deals who don't have this language, but
they're doing with Shamar Stewart. Yet you still want to
defend the Bengals for choosing Schamar Stewart to do this with.
Speaker 8 (17:43):
Look, I think a player needs to get in and
play no matter what. That's my take on it. If
he wastes this whole year or waste half the year,
he's never going to get the money he deserves to get.
Speaker 5 (17:52):
So hold on. So if CBS came to you and
they said, hey, Pete, we're going to change the language
your contract. I know, by the way, if you do X,
Y and Z, you might not be owed anything. And
by the way, this has never been done in the past.
No one else has to abide by it within the organization,
but just you, you would sign up for that.
Speaker 8 (18:11):
No, but we don't know the specifics, and you don't
know the specifics of the whole deal.
Speaker 5 (18:16):
It's actually been it's actually been outlined. It's in regards
to the guarantees past. What's what's usually put in there
that how far as we go ahead.
Speaker 8 (18:24):
Yeah, who's saying that?
Speaker 5 (18:25):
By the way, I mean, I don't know Floria's written
on this for at length. He's got other people who
have reported that he's credited to.
Speaker 8 (18:32):
Floria is always going to take the Flora is always
going to take the side of the radical side of
the player.
Speaker 5 (18:37):
You know that.
Speaker 3 (18:39):
Why is that, Pete? What's your problem, Pete?
Speaker 8 (18:42):
But I'm just saying he's only going to take take
that side by the way he is. I know, I've
known Mike for years. We're always going to stir up
the establishment. That's what he does.
Speaker 3 (18:53):
Well, we yeah, we do have.
Speaker 1 (18:55):
Maybe this is a little peak behind the scenes here
for Pete Prisco. This was the draft grade that Pete
gave the Bengals for Shamar Stewart on Draft Night on CBS.
From Pete Prisco. The Bengals needed edge help, but Stewart
is raw and lacks football instincts. There wasn't a lot
of production to his game. The tape shows a player
who needs to learn how to play football, but the
(19:17):
talent is there, so because of that, he.
Speaker 5 (19:19):
Needs to show up so real quick though, let's just
go over this the off season. What would we would
you say is their number one thing they need to
do this offseason.
Speaker 8 (19:29):
Number one thing who needs to do.
Speaker 5 (19:30):
The Bengals, what do they need to do?
Speaker 8 (19:33):
Pay the players?
Speaker 5 (19:34):
Okay, okay, but what area do they need to improve upon?
Speaker 8 (19:37):
Defense?
Speaker 5 (19:38):
Okay? So they have Trey Hendrickson, who still an extension.
Speaker 8 (19:42):
They tried to week one. Trey Hendrickson shows up and
play the week when, no matter what happens.
Speaker 5 (19:47):
So you think they're going to sign into the deal.
Speaker 8 (19:50):
Well, I think I think whether he signs the deal
or not, he's going to show up and play.
Speaker 3 (19:53):
Oh you think he's gonna come crawling back?
Speaker 8 (19:56):
They all do?
Speaker 5 (19:58):
They all do what dogs?
Speaker 8 (20:00):
Like?
Speaker 5 (20:00):
What are you talking about?
Speaker 8 (20:02):
All the players play? Who doesn't play anymore? You're foolish.
If you don't play, you're living money on the table.
Speaker 3 (20:08):
I mean he does.
Speaker 1 (20:08):
It does feel like he's pretty dug in. And the
way Mike Brown kind of broke down Trey Hendrickson, it's
always like yeah, yeah, yeah, you know, it gets really emotional,
but we usually always get it done. And I mean
Trey Hendrickson's maybe he's on his way to go see you.
He posted on Instagram. He's driving in Florida somewhere, you know,
he's got nowhere near the Bengals training camp. So you're
(20:30):
predicting right now, deal or not Trey Hendrickson is in
the lineup week I'm not saying he's.
Speaker 8 (20:34):
Gonna be there in training camp. I'm saying in week
one he will be lining up at defensive ends of
the Cincinnati Bengals.
Speaker 5 (20:40):
What about it, I don't know what about say it's
a coin coin flip right now, as just said, trade
seems kind of likely, does not.
Speaker 8 (20:46):
They's played that. He was on the market before nobody,
nobody made a deal for him. What do you mean
they peddled.
Speaker 1 (20:52):
Him around before?
Speaker 5 (20:53):
How do you know though, that Cincinnati didn't get enough
back and return on the trade.
Speaker 8 (21:00):
Clearly, if they had gotten something in return that they
wanted to make the deal, they would have made the deal. Brady,
they didn't want it. Look, look here's the deal. He's
under contract, he's not happy with his contract. He has
two choices or three choices. Actually, they get a new
deal done, which is probably gonna happen. By the way,
it sounds like the Bengals move in that direction. If
it doesn't, he can either play or sit and leave
(21:22):
money on the table. And when you leave money on
the table that goes flying out the window and you
never see it again. He's not going to leave it
on the table.
Speaker 5 (21:29):
Pete. How confident do you feel about Joe Burrow winning
that Super Bowl and the first ten years of his career.
Speaker 8 (21:38):
Well, he's darn close, so he still can do it. Look,
it's still possible.
Speaker 5 (21:43):
Do you do you remember when you wanted to concede
and you wanted to say that when they got to
the Super Bowl that was enough, like that that you
were right. Do you remember that night where you were
willing No.
Speaker 8 (21:52):
I remember willing said, I said he would one in ten.
I'm not going to back away from that.
Speaker 5 (21:57):
You said you said multiple too.
Speaker 8 (21:59):
No, I said that could win multiple. But he was
he will win, he will win one. The problem is
he's playing in an era, in that AFC where you
got Mahomes and he got Allen and he got It's tough.
Speaker 5 (22:12):
It's tough, but look, the four.
Speaker 8 (22:14):
Best quarterbacks in football are all in the AFC.
Speaker 5 (22:18):
I mean, you could probably even go deeper than that.
But but if we look at history, look at Carson Palmer,
who also played for the Bengals. That during a time
where there's a lot of good quarterbacks in the NFC
as well. Do you not does that not scare you
a little bit? If Burrow starts looking around, if they
can't figure out some of these deals on defense and
roster construction around Burrow, do you not worry that maybe
(22:38):
he'll look at elsewhere and say, ah, maybe I need
to go somewhere else.
Speaker 8 (22:42):
No. No, he's under contract and he's gonna play there.
But by the way, their defense will be better this year.
Just making the change a defensive coordinator. Wow, I think
that now Al Golden in there will will make that
defense better. I think they're gonna play more man and man.
They had a bunch of man a man corners, a lot.
Speaker 5 (22:58):
Of men, a lot of what that a lot of
pressure too?
Speaker 8 (23:03):
Yeah, I like, I like to change the defensive coordinator.
They'll be better on defense, they'll be better as a
football team, and they're going to push the Ravens for
the division title.
Speaker 3 (23:11):
So Pete Prisco with us here on Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 1 (23:14):
From one defender looking to get paid to another one
looking to get paid, Michael Parsons, what is your best
guess as to why Jerry Jones always finds himself in
this spot talking about not paying a guy yet, not
paying a guy yet kind of dismissing it as well too.
At training camp yesterday in Oxnard. What's your best guess
as to why this is the approach the Cowboys take
(23:37):
when it comes to paying their players and waiting until
after everybody else gets their deal done.
Speaker 8 (23:42):
I think part of it is Jerry loves it. He
loves he loves the spotlight of it. I mean, why
would you have done that deal a year ago? That
makes no sense to me. And look as far as
getting up there and putting the players in the cross
airs when you're talking about them, that's called negotiations. I
mean that happens. Players talk about the team, and team
talks about the players. Then the deal gets done and
everybody comes in and shakes hands and they're all happy.
(24:04):
I mean, that's history. It's been that way for fifty years.
It's not going to change. But as far as Jerry waiting,
I think I don't understand why he waits. He could
have got a cheaper deal last year with Parsons, and
he waits, and now the price has gone up and
now he's going to pay more. But what does it mean.
It means people are talking about the Cowboys, it means
people are talking about Jerry Jones. It means people are
talking about Michael Parsons. I think he loves it. And
(24:26):
so it's the same thing with the Deck Prescott contract,
and he did the same thing, and he waited and
he finally did it and boom there he went. Oh,
look how happy they are. It's going to be no
different in Michael Parsons. That deal will get done. He'll
be happy. Parsons will be happy, and on they go.
Speaker 5 (24:42):
Pete, as we're looking at just heading into training camp
for a lot of these teams, is there an under
the radar team that you've got your eye on this
year that you're kind of saying, all right, no one's
talked about him enough, but they're going to be, you know,
a playoff team or a contender.
Speaker 8 (24:58):
This Tampa count.
Speaker 5 (25:00):
Yeah, that's fine. I'll give you Tampa. And I don't
feel like people are talking about the Bucks.
Speaker 8 (25:04):
Because I think I think Tampa Bay is clearly the
best team in that division. I think they're going to
push for a deep playoff run and maybe more. I
love what they've done. They got a great mix of
young and old. I mean they can they can rush
the passer. I think getting Reddick it will help them.
I think, you know, they have some other young play
Elijah Kanty is ready to take the next step on
(25:25):
that defensive line. They love what they've done with their
young players. I mean, your guy, your Notre Dame guy,
Benjamin Marson. If he can stay on the field, I
think he's going to push for a starting job. They
love them and so I think there's a great mix there.
And they have Baker who's playing at you know, a
really high level to go with a running game. Now,
the one question is offensive coordinator new offensive coordinator. But
(25:46):
everything everybody I've talked over there, they love the guy.
So I think, you know, no, he hasn't called plays,
but he's supposedly a very smart, bright guy. Uh, he'll
figure it out. I think that. I think Tampa is
going to push for a lot more than people think
they are.
Speaker 1 (25:59):
P Prisk joining us here on Fox Sports Rady. You
can get him on ex at Prisco CBS. Pete didn't
want to open up the interview with this. I wanted
to give you time to kind of catch your breath
and all that, because we know this is a difficult
time for you.
Speaker 3 (26:15):
Will Levis.
Speaker 1 (26:17):
Obviously elected to have season ending shoulder surgery. You were
the leader on the Will Levis train a year ago,
telling everybody he was the goods.
Speaker 3 (26:27):
Where does this.
Speaker 1 (26:28):
Leave him moving forward in his career now that the
decision has been made, he's going to miss this entire
season and the keys to the car have been handed
over to cam Ward.
Speaker 8 (26:40):
Well, there's a couple of things there. Yeah, I was
on the Will Lews chain. I still think he could play.
I think Will Levis needs to go to a team,
a different team and learn how to play quarterback, like
for Sean McVay or something like that, like Baker Mayfield did,
and or go somewhere and redubing his career like Sam
Darnold did. It wasn't going to happen to Tennessee. Last
year was a disaster. It was terrible. He was bad,
(27:03):
The team was horrendous, The offensive line was awful. He
took a beating, He made some really bad decisions. He
panics in key moments. He needs to reset. So, if
your shoulder was a problem and you could play through it,
but you're not going to get a real shake to
win the job, why not get it cleaned up. Why not?
(27:25):
And you know, look in this world, what's good for
me is good for me. What's good for him is
to clean up the shoulder, sit out the entire season,
and then figure it out. He clearly looked at the
landscape and no matter what he did, even if he
had a better training camp and a better off season,
he wasn't going to start but clean it up, move on,
fit out the season, and then if they don't want
your round, you go somewhere else and try and rejuvenate
(27:46):
your career. That's what he has to do because it
wasn't going to work in Tennessee. So I'm all for it.
You know what in this and you guys know this,
teams will do anything to you so you could do
something for yourself. He did it, and I spect them
for it.
Speaker 5 (28:01):
That's uh, that's Pete Presco.
Speaker 8 (28:04):
I know.
Speaker 5 (28:05):
Hey, Pete, I do want to ask your opinion about
what how old this whole NFL PA debacle. I mean,
I just give it, just take the take the stage,
go ahead.
Speaker 8 (28:18):
Well, I mean your magic city, your expense report. I
mean that guy was leading the union they.
Speaker 5 (28:26):
Get magic toutsies. Isn't far from you? Pete?
Speaker 3 (28:29):
Yeah, LEAs Tootsie's as good as everybody makes it out
to be.
Speaker 8 (28:32):
Was it was? It was? It was it Tootsies? Is
that were it was Tootsies?
Speaker 5 (28:35):
That's right, Yeah, I mean it was actually both, it
was both.
Speaker 8 (28:38):
Here's the thing about it. He's leading the union and
you're putting that your expense report. I mean, no wonder,
I mean the league. It's just runs over the union.
It's been a disaster for a long time. You know,
we sit here and we say everybody should go, oh,
they're not going to have eighteen games. Yes they will
because the union will allow it to happen. Of course,
(28:59):
they're going to be team games. Look, my relationship with
the NFLPA has never been really strong to begin with.
You know, I was always one of those guys that
pushed back on them, and they never liked it. They
never liked me. So I you know, I can sit
here and say that I'm getting a real chuckle out
of it because it's just such a disaster. And you know, Brady,
(29:20):
they talk a big game. They did they really ever
do anything right by the player? Seriously, they always caves.
They don't really, they don't do the things that they're
supposed to do. And it's kind of been the NFL
knows that and they kind of run them over, and
now to have this happen, it's a disaster.
Speaker 5 (29:38):
So Pete, I want to try to say Lloyd Howll's
defense in this case, We were actually trying to shop
around for some meeting space in South Florida Leap the
lap our producers still working on getting some quotes from
some hotels. But what if the theory was that maybe
this was the cheaper way of finding a way to
congregate for some NFLPA meeting, was it was some of
(30:01):
those V I V I P suites they've got there
at Tutsi's. Would that would that maybe make some sense
to you them?
Speaker 3 (30:07):
Team bonding, team bonding?
Speaker 8 (30:09):
But how the hell are they concentrating on what they're
talking about? Give me a break, by the way, what
do you guys get in space in Miami in Miami four?
What are we talking about?
Speaker 5 (30:21):
Well, you know, we were just shopping around to think
if maybe that was the reason why, Like Lloyd how
was like, we've been looking.
Speaker 8 (30:26):
For you're coming I thought you're coming down.
Speaker 5 (30:29):
We might if Lee gets a good enough deal at Tutsis,
Apparently we might be coming back.
Speaker 8 (30:34):
Well, le's get to go. I mean, you know, back
in the day, you probably could have got a good
deal with the cheat hup the corner over here somewhere.
Speaker 5 (30:43):
Actually, by the way, Pete, you've been in South Florida
for quite some time, is Tutsi's the spot? I mean,
what would be the places that maybe Lloyd hol missed
on in that regard.
Speaker 8 (30:53):
No, by the way, I have never been to Tutsis.
I can honestly say that. But back in the day,
when when, when, when I was growing up here and
we used to go to those astablished and there was
like about twenty of them in Broward County. They're not
there anymore. I mean they had you know, solid Gold
and uh the Monk and the Cheetah and all these
other plays. You know, Yeah, I mean they were all
(31:14):
over the place. But now there's now there's not as
many of them. And I never been I've never acon
honestly said, I've never been to Tussies.
Speaker 3 (31:22):
Pete.
Speaker 1 (31:22):
Have you before I let you go, have you started
to map out your training camp tour?
Speaker 3 (31:26):
How's that looking?
Speaker 5 (31:27):
What are we?
Speaker 8 (31:27):
What are you I'm going? I'm going. I told I
told you I start Saturday, and uh, in Miami with
camp softy. You know, they they're gonna they love they
they love when I come because I do. Was talk
about how soft the practices are and who's going to
be I'm gonna find the players, but they're still not
coming in on time. Well why is that? Because your
team is soft?
Speaker 5 (31:47):
How about that?
Speaker 3 (31:50):
So you're start with the Dolphins and then I.
Speaker 8 (31:53):
Got Jackson, I got Tampa, Jacksonville, Green Bay, Buffalo, and
a couple others. I think I'm gonna go to after that.
But yeah, I mean, it's it's fun to get out
there and see him and when you get there. It's
one thing about training camp. It's entirely different than it
used to be. First off, nobody hits anymore barely. Two,
(32:15):
you practice once a day. Three this access is so
limited from what it used to be. Everything is you know,
you know, well, let's do this here. Let's bring this
guy over here. We'll bring him here. Instead of having
when guys walk off the field, used to be able
to grab Brady when you played, If you came off
the practice field, a guy, media guy wanted to talk
to you and go grab you. Hey, Brady, can I
(32:36):
get you for a few seconds? Right, you know, and
it was like you'd have a conversation with him, you
get to know him a little bit, you get to
know the guy. There's none of that anymore. It's gone.
It's all it's all restricted and getting to talk to
some you know, pr people stand next to you when
you talk to players, what are you scared of? You're
scared of me, You're scared of the player. And so
(32:56):
I think that we've gotten to the point where the
NFL has become very in the way they run things,
and it's hurt the relationship between the team and the media.
And some of that has to do with you know,
these guys have their own individual social media things. They
no longer they no longer need the media anymore. You
know what I'm saying, They don't need if you're if
you're Travis Hunter and Jacksonville, you do all your stuff
(33:17):
on social media. You don't need the media to help
you get your message out, you know, or anybody else.
And so I think it's changed in dynamic of the
way you cover a team, and I think it's hurt
the league. It's hurt the relationship with player and media,
and I think ultimately, in the end, like somebody once
said to me, if they don't talk, and I've said
this many a time. You've heard me say this. Pretty
if you don't talk to you, then just rain it
(33:39):
down on them. They have no record. Rain it, rain it,
rain it. Just get them in the MUDs. Mean, you
can never come to me and say anything because you
don't talk to me.
Speaker 5 (33:51):
I literally think I went three for three today with
p Prisco.
Speaker 8 (33:54):
So you know, Brady, you know what you know how
to you know how to tweak, you know how to
get me going. I'm like a wind up doll. You
just turned.
Speaker 1 (34:01):
The pre Pee Prisco wind up doll on Tuesday mornings here.
Speaker 8 (34:09):
That would be a top seller. You are you know,
you just push the button and you say you are
what you are? You know.
Speaker 5 (34:16):
I'm gonna build a bear review Pete. I'm gonna give
it to all my kids. They'll have all your quotes on.
Speaker 8 (34:21):
Think about it. Think about the life lessons your kids
would learn from me, Brady. Come on, there's so many
of them, so many of them, so many is good
for me? I mean that's number one first and foremost.
There'd be on any kids lesson what's good for me
is good for me? There is period. End of story.
Speaker 1 (34:37):
The Great p Prisco with us here is senior NFL

Guys, final Lee's Leftovers for a week here because I'm
getting suspended because my last few les leftovers were a
bunch of stinkers. So I'll try and just preview the
week ahead for you guys. You guys know that Happy
Gillmore two's coming out on the twenty seventh. And I
don't know if you guys saw this, but they were
Callaway was selling these wicked little custom hockey putters. You know,
(36:37):
if you've seen the movie obviously you know he uses
a hockey stick hybrid for his putter. Well, it's sold
out right away. There were five hundred bucks, and then
they were being turned around for up to three thousand dollars.
That price has dropped and they do plan on putting
out some more come Friday when the movie is released,
and you can also win them at guess where Top Golf?
(37:01):
He Top Golf's having a couple of weekends where you can.
Speaker 5 (37:04):
Go in Las Vegas. Yeah, well, I mean, of all
the things to do here in Las Vegas, why not
go to Top head.
Speaker 1 (37:09):
On over to MGM MGM Grant. I passed by the
other day Top Golf.
Speaker 5 (37:14):
Yeah, I mean there's nothing else to do here in
Las Vegas.
Speaker 6 (37:17):
Yeah, yeah, exactly. They'll probably be playing the movie on
the big screens. You know, it'd be really cool. It'd
be really cool.
Speaker 5 (37:23):
Brady Reserves, Ippy Gilmore have that big of a call
following where they can make putters like that. I guess, yeah,
sold out?
Speaker 6 (37:31):
Oh it is it is? By definition?
Speaker 5 (37:33):
Did they sell that?
Speaker 6 (37:35):
I did have that in front of me. Well, it
sold out in less than.
Speaker 5 (37:40):
It sold out a town many did they sell?
Speaker 6 (37:42):
Uh, you know, they they didn't say the exact number,
but they said they thought they were gonna have enough
in supply until November. They didn't give an exact number
in this in this, but they did say that they
immediately started producing more to be released on Friday.
Speaker 5 (37:56):
Got it?
Speaker 6 (37:57):
Ye, So there you go. Oh, that reminds me. While
I was dog sitting, so I was going out golfing,
and uh, I realized I was running a little late,
and I was like, you know what, this guy probably
has a good set of golf clubs. So I lived
in the closet, I found his golf clubs, took those out. Oh,
I had the best day ever on the golf course
because you know me, I got these old crappy.
Speaker 5 (38:19):
Cold you use some of the dudes golf club? Did
you like golf? The full round of golf with others
some of the guy's clubs. And he doesn't know this.
Speaker 6 (38:27):
Nope.
Speaker 5 (38:29):
I mean that's pretty high up there, buddy. That might
be like borrowing someone's wife. That's like the same thing.
Speaker 6 (38:35):
Anybody would be pissed.
Speaker 3 (38:36):
Why did you do that, Lee?
Speaker 6 (38:37):
Yeah, because my club suck man. I got these old
I got these old clubs I don't have, like the
cool carbon fiber fantasy.
Speaker 5 (38:45):
Just go take the buy in like you did last
year and just spent on some new clubs.
Speaker 1 (38:48):
It would be like me going, hey, my truck's a
little old. Let me take another one from the parking
lot for a while. Like why would you think that
would be okay?
Speaker 6 (38:56):
He's not going to know. He didn't pay me to
watch his dog. That's what you know. That's the prices.
Speaker 5 (38:59):
But watching the dog. Wait, why are you watching the
dog then?
Speaker 6 (39:03):
Because he's my neighbor, he's my buddy. I like the
dog gets me out walking.
Speaker 5 (39:08):
He didn't he put diapers on it.
Speaker 6 (39:10):
I do put diapers on that dog. Bye, Toby, all right,
see you guys in the week.
Speaker 3 (39:14):
The dog's dead.
