up with our guy Pete Prisco here coming up in
a couple of moments from now, because there's our several
storylines to get into with Pete. Oh yeah, he he

(01:32):
couldn't resist, he could not resist the what happened on
Sunday Night Football with JJ McCarthy and Kevin O'Connell.

Speaker 4 (01:42):
So we'd like to.

Speaker 3 (01:44):
Occasionally read the tweets back to Pete to get his
thoughts after the fact on his hot takes throughout. But
you know, Pete, Pete's letting it, letting it fly on
social media these days, so.

Speaker 2 (01:58):
Not as he always does he always does. Man.

Speaker 4 (02:01):
He uh.

Speaker 3 (02:02):
You know, if you want the smoke, you can get
him on on x at Prisco CBS.

Speaker 4 (02:07):
What do you think is big?

Speaker 2 (02:08):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (02:09):
Actually this is my favorite part this What do you
think His response to you bringing up the fact that
it looks like a season might be lost for Joe Burrow,
which would delay the Super Bowl run that he was predicting.

Speaker 2 (02:20):
What do you think his response to that will be.
I don't know. I think he's probably gonna play it
off that we don't know yet for sure. So and
then'll go back to Jake Browning playing well and you know,
getting into a playoff spot because they're two and oh,
I think it's going to go that route.

Speaker 3 (02:39):
Yeah, it's a it's not a not a great So.
I mean, look, if you're if you know the Ravens,
I mean, the Raven's got to be looking at that
going okay. I mean, this is the beneficial to them
if Joe Burrow does in fact miss the season, which
is which is the report that's out that doctor David
Chow saw the reporting of the turf toe issue with

(03:00):
UH with Joe Burrow and said three months would be
optimistic if they have surgery. Uh, it looks like this
would be a season ender for UH, for Joe Burrow company. So, uh,
it is two pros and a cup of Joe here
on Fox Sports Radio lead, do we have an update
on on Pete Prisco?

Speaker 4 (03:18):
Is he did we piss him off?

Speaker 2 (03:20):
You know, this might be a lee mistake.

Speaker 5 (03:22):
I know we usually put him at the twenty, and
I think that might have been my mistake on the rundown,
because I yeah, we usually do him at the twenty.

Speaker 2 (03:30):
Right, we doally we do Okay, all right, so I'm
calling him now. He might he might pick up. Okay,
how is your son? Nothing fuzzy on Sunday?

Speaker 4 (03:44):
Uh, clearly I was not on my.

Speaker 5 (03:48):
Top notes.

Speaker 3 (03:49):
Well look, I mean we are broadcast professionals. We can
we can transition here smoothly over your Mac Jones.

Speaker 2 (03:59):
Baby.

Speaker 4 (04:00):
Yeah, the return of the Mac.

Speaker 2 (04:02):
See is this well, I mean it's one game, all right,
it's one game versus the Saints. But I mean I'm
not sure how much longer a brock Pretty's gonna be out.
I think at least what another game, maybe two more. Yeah,
I'm excited for Mac Jones. This is like, you know,
restarting his career. Really, what could have been between him
and Kyle Shanahan because that was the quarterback was rumored

(04:25):
to have been looking at. But he looked good. He
looked good. Someone trying to say, I think on Twitter
they're like, oh, he looks like brock Purty. I was like, no,
he looks a little better than Oh. I'm just saying
like tell me the difference between Brock Purty and Mac Jones.

Speaker 4 (04:39):
I can't.

Speaker 2 (04:40):
Yeah, it's like there was a reason why mac Jones
got drafted where he did. You know, he's been to
a Pro Bowl, and I understand Brock has done really
well with what he's been given in San Francisco. No
one could take that away from him. But skill set,
why is everything else? There's really no difference, And they're
getting Matt Jones for a lot cheaper. And if these

(05:02):
you know, cut next couple of games look the way
they do, it only feeds more into that. Kyle Shanahan
is a quarterback whisper very similar Kevin O'Connell, Sean McVay always,
you know, great offensive minds. They know how to set
these guys up for success. So I'm excited about what
I saw from Mack.

Speaker 3 (05:20):
Kyle Shanahan, the head coach of the forty nine Ers,
spoke about mac Jones' performance in New Orleans.

Speaker 4 (05:26):
I thought Mac played real well.

Speaker 6 (05:27):
If we had a number of things we had to
change up, it was a big deal. This didn't juice
there early in the game, especially with Kittle out, just
the stuff we had to do with other tight ends.
So we were scrambling there for a little bit trying
to figure some things out. That he handled the situation well,
that he delivered the ball real well. Obviously wouldn't like
to have that fumble back. Hopefully we can get rid
of it a little earlier. And it didn't look like
anyone who's really open though, but you did.

Speaker 7 (05:50):
Hell, Joe.

Speaker 3 (05:52):
I was reading some reports over the weekend about, you know,
a player like how they feel about mac Jones there
and everybody loves them, love him, and you see just
how excited he is there, how fired up he was
to get an opportunity because also look when everything started
to go off the rails for Belichick in New England,

(06:14):
mac Jones was there. And you mentioned the Pro Bowl season,
and we were making this point last week that the
last time mac Jones had this sort of play calling
or something comparable was when Josh McDaniels was the OC
and he went to the Pro Bowl. So it's not
like he's not done this before. He's just been in

(06:36):
some really bad situations in bad spots and didn't really
have an opportunity. And anytime, whether it was Baker Mayfield
in Tampa Bay, whether it was Geno Smith in Seattle,
whether Sam Darnold last year in Minnesota. I love the
fact that you're starting to see quarterbacks get an opportunity again,

(06:58):
and that we don't just talk awesome away and say, well,
listen to the guy's a bust or this guy can't
can't hack it. It's like, no, no, maybe if you
put him in a situation where they can build around
him and he has an opportunity to succeed, he's going
to do so. And Matt Jones is getting an opportunity
for at least a game and maybe two a couple
of games more.

Speaker 2 (07:18):
And let's just you know, call it how it is.
There's only a select few. There's only so many Lamar Jackson's,
Josh Allen's, Patrick Mahomes, who when they come into the league,
you know they were able to lift up the guys
that are playing out around them. There's always so many
of those guys, and it doesn't happen very often. And
by the way, it takes time to build. Even those
guys took Josh Allen three years for them to fully

(07:40):
be like, oh, okay, he's the guy. Now. They had
to go out and get stuff on Diggs. You know,
early in his career. There were still talking about it
is how inaccurate he was. You're looking at his completion percentage.
There's all sorts of talk like that. People tend to
forget what this first two years looked like. For Josh
Allen in Buffalo, it was a run first guy that's changed.

(08:01):
Patrick Mahomes sat for a year besides Alex Smith. He
had to sit and learn. So even with those examples,
Lamar Jackson sat by Joe Flacco, there's countless other you
know points where you could say, yeah, but those organizations
just knew how to kind of even handle guys who
were supremely talented. Mac Jones obviously can get the job done.
We saw that during his time at Alabama. We saw

(08:22):
that with Josh McDaniels in New England. But he also
doesn't possess that skill set like those other guys where
he's gonna be able to make a ton out of nothing.
And unfortunately, when you're in a bad situation or you
don't have an offensive, you know, guru like you've gotten
Kyle Shanahan, you're gonna face that more often than not.
And if you don't get that opportunity to resurrect your career, Like, yeah,

(08:45):
that's unfortunately what usually happens. So, you know, Mac Jones
is an example that there's some other examples, but more
often than that, I think now we've got such a
you know, a short leash on quarterbacks in the NFL
and just their ability to make mistakes to learn to grow.
You know, you see a quarterback like Bryce Young now
is in year three and he's been through a couple

(09:06):
head coaches. He's you know, obviously two different systems, and
you're into year three and they've built around him a
little bit more, but it's still nowhere where it needs
to be. And I don't know what they're gonna decision
they're going to make by the end of the season
and then what happens to the rest of his NFL career.
So it's a tough spot to be in.

Speaker 7 (09:24):
You know.

Speaker 2 (09:24):
I know there's people out there who probably just don't care.
They're like, hey, I want my guy to come in
and perform it. If not, who cares, We'll just go
find another guy. But there's a reason why these guys
will then resurface somewhere else, play good football and re
establish themselves. Baker Mayfield being a great example of that.

Speaker 3 (09:40):
And by the way, you mentioned the Josh Allen stuff.
I can remember when we were doing the Sunday Night
Show and this is not revisionist history. This is a fact,
when we were doing the Sunday Night Show together, which
was the highest rated Sunday night show.

Speaker 4 (09:53):
In the history of sports talk radio.

Speaker 3 (09:55):
I have that well on Fox Sports ready on that timeslot. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
with with nothing else on. We have that on good authority.
But I could we were the first on the bandwagon
to a man, Josh Allen, Josh Allen, And the point
was early in his career you didn't know what you
were gonna get. He could either throw ninety in the
air for a touchdown or it would be going back

(10:16):
ninety the other way. You just didn't know what you
were going to get. And that guy just won an
MVP and he's fantastic. So it's like, yeah, like maybe
some of these are going to take a little bit
longer than others, and maybe some are are put in
position to succeed earlier as opposed to others. And you
can swap quarterbacks in and out. You could take rock
Party and put him elsewhere and then insert, you know,

(10:39):
fill in the blank quarterback and put him with Kyle
Shannan to see out. It's like the fact that we're
getting to see Mac Jones get this opportunity for whatever
amount of time it is. Maybe it doesn't work out
long term in San Francisco, or maybe you know, somebody
sees him and says, you know what, based on what
we watched, maybe this is a guy that we could
you know, sign or add to our team and maybe

(11:01):
give him another chance to be a starter in the league.

Speaker 4 (11:03):
Again, it's awesome. I don't know why.

Speaker 3 (11:05):
Anybody would be uh would not want to see that
for these guys, especially if they were in a terrible
situation like he was back the last couple of years.

Speaker 2 (11:12):
In New England?

Speaker 4 (11:13):
Who is this oc? The second year?

Speaker 7 (11:15):
Was it?

Speaker 4 (11:16):
Was it Matt Patricia?

Speaker 2 (11:19):
Patricia? Yeah?

Speaker 4 (11:19):
And and was it Jojo Judge?

Speaker 3 (11:22):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (11:22):
I mean, come on, man, what do we.

Speaker 2 (11:25):
Yeah, it's a bull move by Belichick that very often
you've got a guy who's a great defensive courdat him,
he's in a call offensive place for us.

Speaker 3 (11:32):
All right, well all right, but you know, but it's
all Mac Jones's fault. He's a bust, you know, Okay,
all right, fair enough. All right, we'll just we'll play
that game. I guess, all right, so Lee, no, no Pete.
So we're gonna do at the twenty's coming on next.

Speaker 2 (11:47):
Okay, yeah, good job, go on top of it. Man,
he can't wait.

Speaker 4 (11:56):
He's ready to run shot and a beer. My ass,
what do you want?

Speaker 2 (12:01):
It was just my mistake. It was an honest mistake.

Speaker 4 (12:03):
Okay.

Speaker 5 (12:04):
We have we have Blandino at the top of the hours.
A lot of times we have the top of the
hour guests, and I forgot.

Speaker 2 (12:09):
Petrus your defense. Petruss is the top out of there.

Speaker 4 (12:11):
That's correct.

Speaker 2 (12:12):
Yeah, Usually, because we take those segments along, we should
probably break early so we can actually take Prisco's long.
Because what happens is we get into some sort of discussion,
we break late, we got less time for Prisco, and
usually he wants to pop off about who knows what.

Speaker 3 (12:25):
But by the way, I almost see, I'm almost positive
Lee told me that Prisco was moving into the time.

Speaker 4 (12:34):
This might be a piece.

Speaker 5 (12:35):
That's that's Albert Albert to the top right, So that's
why I can brain.

Speaker 2 (12:41):
A right it is, well, we can blame him. But
one thing we know about Lee is you know, if
he makes a mistake, he's not. He's not afraid to
admit it. No, he might get if he's sober, he's
gonna get defensive and cagey. But if he's had a
few drinks that system he's like, ah, man, sorry about that, bro, Yeah,
we do.

Speaker 3 (12:57):
I mean he is for the most part, he's pretty dependable.
I mean he's Kills Primers, I mean, because everyone knows
first impressions start with the first code. That's why you
can trust Kills Primers for a smooth and professional finish.
Kills Primers now available exclusively at the Home Depot. If
you're a pro, you know, sponsored by the Home Depot.
All right, it's coming up next here, Yes, Pete Prisco,
we are going to try and get him to maybe

(13:20):
almost curse on the air again. I mean he did
last week. Let's see if we can push him to
the edge one more time. Your resident red ass, Pete Prisco,
is next year on FSR.

Speaker 7 (14:59):
What's up, guys? Are you doing?

Speaker 2 (15:01):
Man?

Speaker 7 (15:03):
What's that? Brady?

Speaker 2 (15:04):
I said, how are you doing?

Speaker 7 (15:05):
I'm great? Week two in the books, at least four
or two games tonight.

Speaker 2 (15:10):
You sound healthy, so like you're not dealing with anything
in particular toe injury. Talk to us about just your
thoughts on the Joe Burrow turf toe potential surgery maybe
missing three months to the rest of the season.

Speaker 7 (15:23):
You know, when it happened yesterday, Brady, you looked at
it and you said, okay, Rock Purty played and finished
his game with a turf toe injury. So clearly this
turf toe injury was much worse than the one he has.
And now you're hear an indications that it might be
a surgery in three months. I mean, it's just look,
it's a damning blow to the Bengals. And I always
say this if it's funny, because we were walking from

(15:45):
you know, Jamie Eisenberger and myself will walking from the
cafeteria into the green back into the green room and
Josh Allen got hurt. Remember he heard his nose, And
I said, if any of those teams with a quarterback
like that gets their guy to go down, their seasons over.
And Loani hold about ten plays later, Joe burrows season
was over, and or most of it is over at least,

(16:07):
and so you just they're done. I mean, if you
lose a franchise quarterback, and you know this, if you
lose a franchise quarterback you have one of those teams
that has that guy, you're finished. And now the Bengals
are finished.

Speaker 3 (16:18):
Now this was the team if and I've heard it
on good authority that when Joe Burrow was drafted you
talked about the number of Super Bowls that they would.

Speaker 7 (16:28):
They I said they would win one.

Speaker 2 (16:30):
You said multiple. But that's all right, No, no, Brady.

Speaker 7 (16:32):
Brady has taken that and twisted that. There's there's tape
for that.

Speaker 2 (16:35):
I don't know why you're blaming me. I mean, I
have a good, good authority, Jamie Eisenberg, Chris Hassel, multiple
of the people have have also commented. You said multiple, I.

Speaker 7 (16:45):
Said, I said with one maybe two is the way
I said it. Oh but yeah, yeah, yeah, Okay, you.

Speaker 2 (16:53):
Love you that it's okay, It's okay. I know you
have a problem.

Speaker 4 (16:57):
You have a problem.

Speaker 2 (16:59):
Broh r r r r R wrong.

Speaker 7 (17:02):
I can admit when I'm wrong. I'm like some people
on the radio show.

Speaker 2 (17:09):
It's amazing that you have a bet, which I'll ask
you this week. What was the bet that you were
on the right side of?

Speaker 7 (17:15):
But turn out for the best pick of the week
was Jacksonville and they plus three and a half and
they ended up losing my four.

Speaker 2 (17:23):
Yeah, that's tough on.

Speaker 7 (17:25):
I mean, you're right though, you know, but then you
know what though it counters out by you got you
got Indy right, So I picked Indy. So Indy gets
a get wins on a late field goal and after
they missed the field goal. And then the other one
is it all eats out in the end. The other
one was Arizona. How does Arizona blow a lead like
they had laying the seven and and letting Carolina back

(17:47):
into the game. So it all in the end, it
all evens out. But the Jacksonville game had they had
no business losing that game.

Speaker 3 (17:54):
So get him on ex at Prisco, CBS P Prisco
joining us here on Fox Sports Radio. I do I
want to ask you if you had any remorse about
the following tweet that was sent.

Speaker 4 (18:04):
Out quote six days ago.

Speaker 3 (18:08):
This entire app was dedicated to Kevin O'Connell's play calling
and JJ McCarthy going to Campton.

Speaker 4 (18:13):
Funny, how quickly things change. You couldn't even wait. You
couldn't even wait. You couldn't even the guy just had
a child a few days ago.

Speaker 3 (18:22):
All Right, he's on playing on national TV for a
second straight week, and there you are ready to just
light him up on social media based on his performance
last night. You anything you want to say for yourself.

Speaker 7 (18:35):
No, I mean it just goes to show you how
crazy that the twitter is during a game, because Monday
night he was awful for three quarters and he had
one good quarter and everybody was ready to put him
in camp. I mean, it's ridiculous to rush to Look
at JJ McCarthy, he's going to be the best guy
ever for the Viking and Kevin O'Connell look at the
play calls. Well, how was it on Sunday night they

(18:56):
played in Atlanta? Defense that went into that game that
we didn't have a high regard. Now they played well
and he wasn't very good, and the play calling was
very good. So it just goes to show you how
quickly things change in this league from or how they
change week to week. And and the overreaction and we
said that last week and the overreaction on Monday after
the week one is out of control. And the overreaction

(19:17):
after anybody's for the performance in week one is usually
out of control. And we saw that with that that
team and that quarterback.

Speaker 2 (19:23):
So pet you don't give him the benefit of the doubt,
give him that it's a second start, and even in
his first start, like he's Look, I know he was
there last year, called a red shirt, whatever you want
to call it, but this really is this rookie year.
I mean, he's still kind of growing and learning. You
don't like preach any patience or you know, give any
time to see what he's going to be.

Speaker 7 (19:41):
Well, yeah, of course you do. But that goes back
to the rushing him up the tree to say he's
as far already too, Brady. I give him the whole
season to show what he can do. I'm not the
verdict's not out on him by any stretch of the imagination.
It just goes to show you.

Speaker 2 (19:56):
Can we do something. Can we have go ahead?

Speaker 7 (20:00):
No, I never thought he was going to be great
to begin with, So I'll be honest about it.

Speaker 2 (20:03):
I thought I was just gonna say, yeah, could have
Jonas Knox look up your draft grade of Jajon McCarthy.
I'd be fascinating to see because one of the things
that I think our listeners should know, and just based
on the long time working with you, Pete, is you
make a first impression about someone and that's it. They
like you very rarely ever change your first impression, and
I feel like that today is going to be a

(20:25):
lot of those, if we're being honest with ourselves. So, Jonas,
do you have Pete Prisco's draft grade for Jamie.

Speaker 3 (20:31):
McCarthy efforting, efforting to go all the way back to
twenty twenty four to find Pete priscoll draft grade for that.

Speaker 7 (20:37):
He was the last thing. He was my last rate.
I didn't I didn't love him. I'll be honest about it.
I mean I didn't think. I didn't think he was
a fourth round or anything, but I didn't love him
in the first round. And that guy, you can go
look it up. I'm one hundred percent on that. By
the way, Brady. You know why I usually don't change
my mind, wasn't it because you usually are what you are?

Speaker 2 (20:58):
I mean, I mean, well someone someone who was whatever
they are yesterday was Russell Wilson played fantastic. I mean
it was unbelievable how well he played. Pete.

Speaker 7 (21:07):
I do it.

Speaker 3 (21:08):
By the way, I do have Pete's synopsis on the
the pick of JJ McCarthy for the Minnesota Vikings. He
called it their worst pick. He said, I get the
whole idea of finding a quarterback and landing JJ McCarthy
where they did make sense, but I don't love his game.
He just shot up boards after the season and I
never saw it. I thought he would be a late

(21:29):
first round pick.

Speaker 7 (21:31):
So yeah, yeah, I mean, I'm and and Brady Russell Wilson.
Russell Wilson played pretty daring good football yesterday. Threw a
bunch of yea. He played phenomenal well the movie Well,
you know what, when the game was on the line,
he threw one backwards is when the game was on

(21:52):
the line through an interception to Donovan Wilson. Uh, that
was won the game.

Speaker 2 (21:58):
So there it is. And I had no quarterback. Wins
was a QB stat.

Speaker 7 (22:04):
Pete, it's not a QB statu. It never has been.
I'm with you on that. By the way, I just look,
he made some really good throws. Now, the Cowboys were
terrible in the back end. Donovan Wilson, who made the
interception in overtime, was so bad on Sunday. My god,
we were watching that game. Guys are running wide open.
But and look, Russell Wilson could throw the moon ball.

(22:25):
He's good at it, that's what he does. And he
threw the bad Cowboys defense.

Speaker 3 (22:30):
When the game, when the game was on the line,
he threw it backwards when the game, By.

Speaker 7 (22:36):
The way he would, I think, if I'm not mistaken,
he had his career high in yards until he threw
the backward pass. I think, if I'm not mistaken, I
think because at one point he was over Yeah.

Speaker 4 (22:48):
Pete, I him, Uh, I am Pete.

Speaker 3 (22:52):
Who which which former Dan Campbell coordinator is off to
a worst start? Aaron glennor Ben Johnson.

Speaker 7 (23:01):
Both both? I mean, look, Aaron Glenn was supposed to
go to a team that had a good defense and
bring it even into a better era of defensive football,
because that's who he is. And they've gotten worse. I
mean they're awful on defense. They made Aaron Rodgers look
good and we saw him on then he went great
and he threw and then last this past week didn't
the Bills of whatever the heck they wanted to do.

(23:22):
So they're bad on defense. So that's on Aaron Glenn.
And look, Caleb Williams has his moments where you go, Okay,
that's good, and then he has his moments where okay,
he's awful, and that's what you get with him. And
so I think if you had to, if I had
to answer that, honestly, I think it's a tie because
they both have been bad.

Speaker 2 (23:40):
How about that, well, said DDE Miami the Dolphins, they
look terrible. Where's this going? Is Mike McDaniel gonna be
out as to or not to? Its tyree can get traded?
Where do you forst see this whole thing going?

Speaker 7 (23:57):
Well, they played the Bills Thursday night in Buffalo. That
thing on National TV gets out of hand and it's
a blowout. Do they make a change? Then? You know,
when you look at their staff, there's not a lot
of guys on that staff you can say, okay, well
where are you going? You know, there's been some the
guys on that staff that have been interim head coaches
at times. But does that does that solve it? Brady?
When you do that, I mean, look, Mike McDaniel's going

(24:20):
to get it, Chris Breer is going to get it.
That's becoming blatantly obvious. But does it really solve an
issue if you get rid of a guy now after
four or five, six games or whatever it is. I
don't know. And so because who are gonna put on
the staff? But Eric studs Ville and students Villa. I
mean he's been an interview.

Speaker 2 (24:40):
Probably probably Anthony Weaver.

Speaker 7 (24:42):
Weaver, Yeah, well, I don't know. I mean that's what
I would do if I was going to make a change,
I put Anthony Weaver in and give the opportunity. But
again I don't know. Is that ever? I don't know
if that ever fixes anything, though I mean it might.
Does that give you a new life? Does it give
you you know what? I mean? It gives you a
head started the process. Here here's the problem. When you
make an interim head coach, what is he putt does

(25:05):
a decent job, then you're stuck hiring him no matter what?
Are you not.

Speaker 4 (25:11):
So like you almost rather he sucked, so so you
had some clarity on that.

Speaker 7 (25:15):
No, I mean he might not be the guy you want.
But then they get like, did they play decent football?
Maybe it's not because of him, And then you end
up getting to he's your head coach, I don't. I
think the best part about that would be to open
up the process and find.

Speaker 4 (25:27):
Go find a head coach, like like like Antonio Piers.

Speaker 7 (25:32):
Yeah, exactly. And here's the other part of it. Here's
the other part of it. If they open up the process,
the head coach, the general manager definitely goes. I mean
he's been there for a bunch of coaches and it
doesn't work. The head coach goes. The question becomes this too.

Speaker 3 (25:44):
Ago you mentioned on the subject of the Dolphins when
you went took your training camp tour. I think you
call them camp softy and uh, did you get the
impression at that time watching them up close that yeah,
this thing is going to go sideways in a hurry.

Speaker 7 (26:03):
Yeah. You can't change you can't change who you are.
And that guy, look, he never had to remember at
the last at the end of last season, when he
stood up to the podium and said I kept finding
these guys over and over again, and they kept being
late to team meetings. I don't know what to do.
You're the head coach. Figured out, that's your job. You
got to discipline these guys. And now all of a sudden,
you come back and you're going to change the way
you do things that don't work. It just won't work

(26:25):
because you know why. NFL players will figure out who
you are right away, and they can figure out what
they can get away with, when they can get away with,
how they can get away with it. And even if
you try and change up. I did that last year.
I'm going to continue to do it, and so I
don't think they can ever. You can be tougher. I mean,
you could be tough to start and ease up. I've
seen that play out at times. You know, Tom Poughlin

(26:46):
did it and ended up winning the Super Bowl because
he was a maniac, and then he kind of pulled
back a little bit. You can't go the other way,
and Mike mccaniel tried to go the other way. He's
trying to go the other way. It just doesn't work.
I mean. And the other part of that is who
have their leaders their star players think about this Tyreek
Hill guys are gonna look to him, look at the
look what the stuff he does. They're gonna look to

(27:07):
him as a leader. But he's one of their best,
one of their best players. You look to Jalen Ramsey
was there last year. You're gonna look at that guy
as a leader. I mean, from what I hear, he
used to show up in the practice field, like right
before practice started, just wander on and there I am.
And one day maybe they're not going to practice. Maybe
I am. Give me a break. I mean, if your
leaders are those guys and your coach has no discipline,

(27:29):
your team is sunk. And right now we're.

Speaker 2 (27:30):
Saying it, yeah uhete give me an O and two
team that you would say to the fan base is
don't worry. They'll be fine. They'll still be able to
make a run to get back into it. You can't
pick fantasy at can City.

Speaker 7 (27:45):
You just made it. You just ended the whole exercise.
That's going to pick.

Speaker 2 (27:49):
That's the only team. There's no other and two team.

Speaker 7 (27:52):
Yeah, that's the two team. That's the one. Come on, Brady, there.
They're ready to bury them. They're ready to bury them,
and I'm not ready to bury them. I know they
have issues, but they lost in Brazil, which is a
weird way to start your season. They didn't play very
well that day. The defense was awful that night. And
then they come home and they play the Eagles. If

(28:13):
if Kelsey catches the damn ball in the end zone,
they're ahead seventeen thirteen with eleven minutes to go in
the game.

Speaker 2 (28:20):
And the m Okay, so what about Houston if they
lose tonight they're playing the Bucks and if they go
to oh and two.

Speaker 7 (28:25):
Is that I'd be worried about them.

Speaker 2 (28:29):
If they go to oh and two they play South.

Speaker 7 (28:33):
Yeah, but well Jacksonville should have should be to and
oh they choked it.

Speaker 2 (28:37):
Okay, they're not Pete reality and the Colts are too
and oh yeah, okay, which okay, Well, that's the other
end of the question is are they the biggest surprise
of the NFL season so far?

Speaker 7 (28:49):
The Colts? Yeah, yeah, I mean what they did and
what they did to that Broncos defense. Just today, the
Broncos defense was considered the best, one of the best.
It's not the best defense in the league going into
the season, and the shreddit with Daniel Jones did whatever
the heck you wanted to do well.

Speaker 2 (29:03):
I thought Dango Jones was what he what was what
he is?

Speaker 7 (29:06):
You know?

Speaker 2 (29:06):
I thought, is that the whole thing you say about quarterbacks.
They can't like resret their career like Max Jones looke
great yesterday or Daniel Jones the past two weeks.

Speaker 7 (29:12):
You know, And you know what happens, Brady, It all
evens out in the end. You become what you are.
You can have that game, you can have that game.
You're gonna have that game in that season, and Sam
Donald becomes Sam Donald, and Mac Jones will become Mac Jones,
and Daniel Jones will become Daniel Jones. That's who they are.

Speaker 2 (29:28):
What's interesting, Sam Sam Donald actually just played great versus
a Pittsburgh Steelers team got they got a nice win,
almost put three hundred yards in a couple of tunnies
running back.

Speaker 7 (29:42):
You thought Sam Donald was good? Yes, it was okay.

Speaker 2 (29:45):
I mean those guys remember Uncle Buck? Remember Uncle Buck?
Remember the movie Uncle Buck? Remember when when is it Sharis?
When she calls him on the phone and he's like
trying to explain himself and he's like, let me, let
me just let me let me. Oh that's kind of
how you sound, Pete. It's like you throw all these
blanket statements.

Speaker 7 (30:06):
You keep interrupting me on your delay because I'm giving.

Speaker 2 (30:10):
You examples of guys who are literally you are right
back in your face. You are what you are, Pete.

Speaker 7 (30:15):
Do you think Okay, did you watch mac Jones last year? That?

Speaker 2 (30:20):
Yeah, but it was an entirely different situation than being
in San Francisco. Okay, I called one of their games, Pete, Yeah,
I watched them.

Speaker 7 (30:26):
Do you believe in mac Jones?

Speaker 2 (30:29):
I think Mac Jones in the right system can play well.
I'll put it this way. I think him in San
Francisco is Kyle Shanahan. Yes, he can succeed. He could
play well on that team.

Speaker 7 (30:36):
So he had a good game yesterday against the bad
Saints team. But he had a good game. Now, you
probably put up numbers similar to what Party would have
put up. So should he be playing like? Is he
like Purdy? Is that what you're saying? So Perty is
a product of the system, and Mac Jones could be
a product of this.

Speaker 2 (30:52):
I think everyone would say that. Would you not say
that I.

Speaker 7 (30:55):
Didn't make Joneses are very good. I just don't think
he's very good.

Speaker 2 (30:59):
I must say, take okay, we'll put it this way.
Put it this way, take brock Portty. You go put
in the Jacksonville Jaguars or another team that that you know,
that's where he was playing.

Speaker 7 (31:06):
Eat a bit better than Mac Jones. I can promise
you that you don't know that Mac Jones wasn't good
in New England, wasn't good Jacksonville has one game in
San Francisco, and now all of a sudden, looks Mac
Jones is good.

Speaker 2 (31:17):
He went first off, he went to the Pro Bowl
the one year he actually had a coordinator. I'm not
a defensive coordinator calling place.

Speaker 7 (31:24):
For He's an average quarterback and an average quarterback at
fast and you know it. So the rest of that,
the group is all together all the same.

Speaker 2 (31:33):
Well, Daniel Braytons are sure proven you wrong. So I'm
all here for the Daniel Jones revenge store where you
can stick it right back into your face, just like
Kirk Cousins, who's made more money than almost anyone in
the NFL, who's constantly stuck it in your face too.

Speaker 7 (31:46):
Yeah, well he's sitting on the sitting on his ass,
watching the making a.

Speaker 2 (31:50):
Lot of money incidents, making a lot of money people
and they.

Speaker 7 (31:53):
Know a lot, Brady, And ultimately that's that's the most
important thing. You're right and kudos. Kirk Cousins is one
of the all time breakquarterbacks, considered a new roles in
his money every day.

Speaker 4 (32:02):
So I give it to your hey, Pete, before I
let you go.

Speaker 3 (32:05):
It is being reported that Joe Burrow will have surgery
on his toe, and so it's a minimum three months.

Speaker 2 (32:12):
It looks like we'll move on to we'll move on
to your seven. How about that one?

Speaker 3 (32:17):
You know what?

Speaker 7 (32:17):
You know what they took him Supposedly I took him
up on a scooter or something or something. At one
point once you got on that, you knew it was
probably I said, I said on our show last night,
I said, you know it went out the door with
that scooter. This Bengal season they'd done yay.

Speaker 3 (32:31):
So now now would you go, Jake Browning or you
making a move? Are you you're making a deal to
try and to bring somebody in who would be uhh?
I mean, I mean, what about your guy in Atlanta
that you just said was sitting on his ass. Maybe
he doesn't want to sit on his ass. Anymore, Kirk
Cousins comes.

Speaker 7 (32:47):
Back out j Brown. No, I think you say, Jake
Browning actually did some for a backup quarterback, which is
what he is. He did some decent things when he
played the last time. So no, I think they stick
with Jake Brown.

Speaker 2 (32:59):
No, They're they're close. I just missed right.

Speaker 7 (33:02):
I mean, you can throw them all in the pile,
Jake Brown and Daniel.

Speaker 2 (33:06):
Joe Jake Jake. Jake Brown wasn't drafted to a place
to be a guy, so that's a little different.

Speaker 7 (33:14):
But you know what, you're drafted to be a guy,
and then you're not a guy. You become one of
the one of the guys in the fisle.

Speaker 3 (33:19):
I mean you should be caught because because Pete Pete,
ultimately what are you?

Speaker 7 (33:24):
You're just you are what you are? You know that.

Speaker 2 (33:27):
I just I love the fact that Pete picked out
two separate quarterbacks both through one and played really three
really uh but only two of those.

Speaker 4 (33:34):
One But throw them all the pile, the pile.

Speaker 7 (33:40):
They're on the pile that you call them the t's pile.
Every once in a while they're going to have a
little two or three game run where you go, oh wow,
this guy ain't changed, and then they go back to
who they are. Three games they become who they are.
It all evens out. That's you are what you are,
and never ever, ever forget that league, Pete.

Speaker 2 (34:01):
That's why Jonas calls him strippers a little you go
back to reality.

Speaker 4 (34:06):
There they're strippers.

Speaker 6 (34:09):
Like I like it.

Speaker 7 (34:10):
There you go?

Speaker 3 (34:11):

It's Lee's left Jovers, all.

Speaker 5 (35:59):
Right, Dala, we got well, guys, we haven't had much
of a chance to talk about it. We got double
barrel action tonight, the first of four double barrel action
Monday night games.

Speaker 2 (36:08):
We double and you know this is going to be
the last.

Speaker 3 (36:13):
You know, daddy, that's who coined it right here, right here.
Oh yeah, come on, double barrel action. Although I would
say this not to be a stickler for the details,
not technically double barrel because they're back to back doubleheader
more so, but you know what, the first one may

(36:34):
still be going on when they kick off the Las
Vegas yeah.

Speaker 5 (36:37):
Late game, And it's going to be the first of
four this season. And this is gonna be the last
season with double barrel action. No more double Monday night
football games next season.

Speaker 3 (36:46):
Why not?

Speaker 5 (36:47):
It's because of the new deal between NFL and ESPN.

Speaker 4 (36:50):
Oh okay, stipulation is that there will be.

Speaker 2 (36:53):
No more double barrel action next season.

Speaker 4 (36:55):
I kind of like two Monday night games. You know,
it's fun. That's a lot.

Speaker 2 (37:00):
Let's enjoy it while we have it.

Speaker 5 (37:02):
Bucks at Texans is going to be the first one tonight.
Texans are two and a half point favorites.

Speaker 4 (37:06):
In this game. Do you guys have a pick for this?
Houston really knocks locks.

Speaker 2 (37:12):
Oh yeah, Okay, it's hard to think they could started
the season zhe and two. I don't know. I think
Houston's the better team. Someone tells me though, like Tampa,
they look great week one, but also maybe that was
more just Atlanta defensively is pretty decent. I'm gonna go
and take the points in Tampa Bay.

Speaker 4 (37:34):
Whens Whens. That boys sounds familiar for something. I don't
know why that sounds so familiar.

Speaker 2 (37:45):
Oh really okay, cats out of the bag now. So
I have so many questions about what that drop was
taped and why and everything else.

Speaker 4 (38:00):
Yeah, who is in the room?

Speaker 5 (38:02):
Yeah, well how about this, guys, Chargers out should be
pointed out.

Speaker 3 (38:08):
And this is really the most important thing to watch for.
Need the Texans uh to go to and one of
Knox locks this week.

Speaker 2 (38:17):
So I'm want to point that out. All right, we'll
go go Buccaneers.

Speaker 8 (38:21):
How do you do that?

Speaker 4 (38:22):
I'm supportive of you.

Speaker 2 (38:24):
Why wouldn't I do that? Why wouldn't I?

Speaker 3 (38:26):
I was trying to I was trying to get Georgia
Tennessee scratched based on you getting screwed.

Speaker 2 (38:32):
That's a that's a loser mentality. Though, you know what
else we.

Speaker 5 (38:36):
Got Chargers three and a half point favorites that Allegiance
Stadium against the Raiders.

Speaker 4 (38:42):
MM, you got I guess Chargers. Knocks locks, I'll look down.

Speaker 2 (38:52):
I guess Chargers. I'm gonna take the Raiders, all right?

Speaker 4 (38:56):
Are we doing official picks here?

Speaker 2 (38:58):
I I definitely about. We don't have var he won't
he won't respond. I mean I can send him to him.
We'll see, you know, I do like it.

Speaker 3 (39:05):
Pete Carroll and Jim Harbaugh can't avoid each other for
too long, like they always end up either in the
PAC twelve years ago or in the NFC West years ago,
another in the AFC West.

Speaker 7 (39:18):
And.

Speaker 3 (39:20):
They just don't like each other at all. They just
really don't like each other. And so I'm just hoping
that something happens to where there's an interaction to where
it's very obvious that they don't like being around each other.
That's that's what I'm looking for tonight. But it should
be a fun one, and I'm with you. I think
the Raiders are better than people expected. I think it's
going to be a better year for them than.

Speaker 2 (39:40):
A lot of people. That's what I'm saying. That hook
harready got me once this week now let me give
me this time. Yeah, careful of the hook. Good luck, Jonas.
I hope you, I hope you listen.

Speaker 4 (39:49):
See, it's not nice.

Speaker 2 (39:50):
It's not nice. Haven't I been there,
