Let's give this Pard. You're listening to Fox Sports Radio
Two Pros and a Cup of Joe.
Speaker 2 (00:35):
Here, Fox Sports Radio, Brady Quinn, Jonas Knox with you.
No LeVar Arrington, And look, we'll just be honest with
you and we'll get to why LeVar is not here.
From the tire rack dot Com studios tire rac dot com,
we'll help you get there. An unmatched selection, fast, free shipping,
free road hazard protection, and over ten thousand recommended installers.
(00:56):
Tire rack dot com the way tire buying should be.
So there are checks and balances here on this show,
and you are always being evaluated for your performance and
more importantly, your attitude. And we felt as a show
we were not pleased with Levar's attitude through the first
two hours, so he's been suspended the rest of the show,
(01:19):
so he will look at this.
Speaker 1 (01:21):
Is that what decision you made on the show? I
thought we made. I mean, you you really drive the show.
You kind of drive the narratives and everything else that's
that goes on. So I really can't take any responsibility
for why LeVar is not here and the rationale behind that.
So I'm gonna leave it up to you and Lee
and whatever you too have talked about or discuss during
(01:43):
the break. Hold on a second.
Speaker 2 (01:44):
I mean, I thought that this was a group decision,
and we decided based on his attitude.
Speaker 1 (01:50):
He's got to go. I was, I was, I was
not a part of this at all.
Speaker 2 (01:53):
Okay, Well, I mean, Lee, I mean I think that,
you know, we made the right decision.
Speaker 3 (01:57):
Yeah, you know, sometimes you just gotta go, you gotta
put the foot down. Yeah, and he'll be back tomorrow.
Hey buddy, Hey buddy, I mean maybe, hey buddy, maybe
take the rest of.
Speaker 1 (02:08):
The day off, buddy. Okay, all right, hey buddy, hey buddy.
Speaker 2 (02:13):
Uh so, uh yeah, that is the the update. A
LeVar or you know, maybe he had a flight yeah, there.
Speaker 1 (02:18):
There is that.
Speaker 2 (02:19):
But you know why I ruin a good story. It
is two pros and a cup of Joe. Here on
Fox Sports Radio, we were talking about Monday Night Football
to start off the show. I don't know about you,
not exactly the greatest game in the world, just kind
of well.
Speaker 1 (02:33):
In case he got off to a fast start, and
you're coming all right, I know this is gonna be
your typical primetime spot for the Chiefs. Taylor Swift's there,
You're gonna show her a lot. They're gonna win in
somewhat dominant fashion with a couple exceptions. Saw fat Man
interception but killing siders almost trying to return it. That
was fun, And yeah, that's pretty much it. Derek Carr
(02:53):
knocked out and the Chiefs for the most part, kind
of sealed it relatively easily. I at least felt like
they had control of the game for the majority of
the game. It never really felt like the Saints had
much of a shot.
Speaker 2 (03:07):
God man, they gotta stop with the Taylor Swift crap.
Just stop, just stop enough.
Speaker 1 (03:13):
I guess what i'd ask is like, what are we
I understand the conspiracy theories around the relationship and trying
to grow NFL viewership and bring in some of the
Swifties into football. Is that still happening? Like we all
get it. They're in a relationship. Whatever growth they've seen
with the Taylor Swift crowd, it's like, is another season
(03:35):
of showing her a bunch going to bring those who
are on the fence, you know that they're quite sure
last year, but now they're all bought into the NFL
this year? Is that Is that going to be the difference.
It's like every network had their shot. We've showed her
a bunch. I think we can move on from this.
Speaker 2 (03:50):
Yeah, Like I can understand, Like you know, when it
first happened, Okay, she showed up, you know, to Arrowhead,
and there was the rumors. How did they sneak her out?
They had to put her in a pop corn container
and move her out, and like it's okay, we're good here,
we got it. Like they've been on stage together, they've
done the whole thing. They want a super Bowl, We
got it. We are all good. Let's just move on.
(04:13):
It's over. Like you don't need to keep panning up,
you don't need to keep showing her and so she
can give some fake celebrations. If she knows what the
hell is going on, she doesn't like, let's just go
ahead and just watch football and enjoy it. That's it.
Like football is good enough. This isn't the NBA where
you've got to manufacture drama and storylines to try and
keep people entertained. Football is good enough. Even when football
(04:35):
is kind of bad, and there's been some real bad
football throughout the course of the year so far, it's
still entertaining. And if it's not entertaining for you, and
you need this to get excited about stuff, start gambling.
Be an adult, be a grownup, be responsible, and start gambling.
I don't care if it's your kids allowance, your mortgage,
your family savings, whatever it is. Go out there, go
(04:59):
to the window and start slinging it if you want
to be entertained. We don't need to keep panning up
to the booth to see Taylor Swift in some you know,
picnic table dress trying to cheer on Travis Kelsey's if
she knows what the hell's going on enough. By the way,
I'll also say this, I think that Travis Kelsey really
(05:19):
wanted to keep that ball when he lined up in
shotgun and Xavier Worthy took it into the end zone.
It looked like Travis was trying to keep that ball
to run it himself, and Xavier Worthy just kind of
swiped it and ran on in. So I know he's
good for the rookie. Then good for the rookie, and
happy birthday to his mom. Gave the ball to his mom.
Good story, Chiefs win.
Speaker 1 (05:41):
That was nice. Derek Carr has got.
Speaker 2 (05:42):
An obleak, So there's that, all right, But who cares
about all that, because it is time for the return
of college football's new sensation, the one and only.
Speaker 4 (05:56):
This Who needs the top twenty five things that I
never thought exists when.
Speaker 1 (06:01):
You've got the Q Top fifteen right, that's right, folks.
Set it into Week seven of the college football season.
Here's my top fifteen. A lot of changes, a lot
of changes with all of the upsets. That's right. Four
of the top eleven teams from last week's ap pool
were upset and that is the first time we've seen
(06:25):
that since two thousand and seven. So crazy is craziness
As we head into the month of October for some
more football, some big time matchups, and you better believe it,
some upsets coming our way at the top of the pole,
standing at five and zero after being idle last week
in preparation for the Red River rivalry. It's Texas. They
(06:47):
benefit from the loss of Tennessee and Alabama both losing
on the road. In SEC play, they'll get the quarterback
back Quinn yours you as you've heard Eddie talk about,
he'll be ready to go for this big one. And
now it's Texas who's in the driver's seat for the
SEC up to the number one spot. And look, they
have a better win right now over Michigan at Michigan
(07:10):
on their schedule than the number two team, and that
number two team is the Buck Guys five to zero.
Ohigo status continue to dominate their schedule thus farm really
no tests to date. Iowa kept it close at least
at half and then boom the Buck guys go off
in the third quarter. And that's the biggest issue with
the Buck guys. It's hard to score on their defense.
(07:32):
They didn't give up a score until eleven minutes left
in the game this past week. And you have to
try to keep pace with one of the most explosive
offenses in the country running the football, but also with
the receivers led by the unbelievable freshman Jeremiah Smith. Now
the number three spot, it gets a little controversial. I've
got Georgia. Look, here's the deal, Bama fans. I know
(07:55):
you beat Georgia, I get it, but you also lost
to Vanderbilt. Okay, and Georgia probably could as should have
maybe been able to beat you. I think you play
that game again, they probably won. Just saying so, I've
got George at four and one at the number three
spot for those reasons I mentioned before. It really took
a bad half of football. Georgia still came back and
(08:18):
then throw a pick in the end zone when they're
coming back to take the lead again. I just think
George is the better team and I think they're probably
gonna be the team to compete with Texas when it's
all said done for the SEC Championship. But more football
to go Bama four and one, they're at the number
four spot. As I talked about, bad loss to Vanderbilt,
and by the way, this wasn't a fluke. Vanderbilts a
(08:38):
good football team. Clark Lee has built this thing up.
We talked about Barton Simms, their general manager, Jerry Kilder
consultant that have helped build this program, put their fingers,
you know, their fingerprints on it. Digo pav has been
awesome for them a quarterback. Give them a lot of credit.
There's defensive issues that are a big time concern for
Bama and consistency on offense. At number five Tennessee four
(09:00):
and one another team that suffered a setback this past
week coming off of the buy losing to Arkansas. Look
Nico Iamalaiava finally looked like a first year starting quarterback. Defensively,
they did their part, but the way that game ended,
my goodness. And the one thing I'll say moving forward,
when you got five men in the box, Tennessee, run
(09:20):
the damn ball, Run the damn ball. Stop throwing it around.
When you got the box count to be able to
run the football. You've got a capable offensive line in backs,
all right. But I digress Number six, Miami six and Oho,
they just keep finding a way to win. Cam Ward's
playing as the best quarterback in the country right now,
But will they stumble along the way? That's kind of
(09:41):
the concern. It feels like it takes a heroic effort
from cam Ward every single week, edging out Cal in
what was what a three score comeback in the second half.
Just phenomenal on the part of cam Ward at number seven,
Penn State five, and Oh. However, look at lackluster performance
offensively versus UCLA this past week. Ustilly is probably the
(10:03):
second worst team in the Big Ten. They got out rushed,
They struggled at times to get off the field on
defense versus QB Justin Martin, who was making his first
start on the road, and the biggest thing they lacked
the explosive playmaking ability. Could that improve potentially, but they're
gonna have to in a hurry because they got usc
this week, number eight, Oregon five, and oh. They are
a huge week to prove if they deserve the ranking
(10:26):
that the eight people has them at. Remember the ap
Poles got him all the way up at number three.
I don't see it that way. This team doesn't look
as physical as last year's Defensively, I'll be curious to
see how they handle the rushing attack and the passing
attack of Ohio State. And ultimately, Dylan Gabriel is in
his third offense, third team in the past four years.
(10:46):
He's getting more and more comfortable. We still have to
see the big plays downfield. And even though Oregan's five
and oh, they are one in four against the spread.
If that gives you any indication as far as how
people feel about them, this is a team that gave
up over one hundred ninety two rushing yards to Boise
State earlier this year. Ashton genty went off for three
tuddies in that one. All buy in. If they beat
(11:08):
Ohio State this week, they'll make a major jump. Then
at number nine, Iowa State five and zero. Say what
you want about this team, but they got playmakers at
the skill positions. They've got a smothering defense, and have
handled everyone so far on their schedule. They are a
top ten team to me. At number ten, Old Miss
they come in at five and one. A nice bounce
back went over South Carolina this past week. Not the
(11:30):
most difficult schedule ahead, so as long as they can
keep building, this team is going to be considered for
a playoff spot. At number eleven, Clemson four to one,
another drumming doled out to Florida State. This team's really
rebounded after that opening week blow lost to Georgia. Their
schedule sets up extremely favorably for them to enter the
ACC Championship game as a one lost team at number twelve.
(11:51):
My fighting irish at four to one. They're coming off
the buy. They see a jump because of the chaos
around them that occurred in front of them. However, if
we're measuring losses, look Notre Dame fans, I get it.
We want to be part of the playoff. I think
we will be a part of the playoff. But stop
minimizing the loss of an IU as your home opener.
It's a terrible loss, okay, after beating Notre Dame Northern
(12:12):
Illinois one and two since then, okay, and they've recently
beaten U Mass. That's their one win in that stretch.
Who's only win. By the way, for U Mass. The
season is over an FCS team and it was actually close.
So let's stop minimizing that. The schedule hopefully will get
better if you will see Knox off Penn State. But
as of right now, the one los ain looking good
(12:34):
at number thirteen. BYU five and zero, they're on a buy.
They improved simply again because of the losses around them.
But if you look at their resume, some of those
wins are looking better and better. I mean, they blew
out Kansas State, who looks like they're in the position
right now to potentially win the Big twelve. So the
tough one this week versus Arizona, however, BYU at number thirteen,
(12:57):
then Indiana at number fourteen to six, and they're on
a bye week. But let's give Kurt Signetti his props.
He was fantasy quote has said all I do is win.
Just google me when he took over this job. And
they've been blowing out teams. By the way, their average
margin of victory is thirty three points. They've already achieved
bull eligibility. And we were heading into Week seven of
college football. When's the last time you could say that
(13:19):
about Indiana? Okay, last time it was nineteen sixty seven.
They finished fourth that year in the EP poll, going
nine to two. Give I you a lot of credit
for what they're at right now. They're six and zero
in my poll, and finally at number fifteen, it's Boise
State four and one. They've blown out every team, with
the exception of Oregon, who they nearly upset in eugen
(13:40):
Ashton Genti is the best back in the country. He's
a bona fide Heisman candidate. Their defense can get after it,
they're good in red zone scoring percentage, and also they're
second in the country in sacks. So Boise States got
the combination to maybe be that group of five team
that surprises some people in the college football playoffs.
Speaker 2 (14:00):
Talking about right there best in the business. Put that
in your age.
Speaker 1 (14:05):
A lot of differences though, man, I'll tell you this much,
a lot of differences from the eight people.
Speaker 2 (14:09):
The note on Oregon is interesting, one in four against
the spread, and people can look at that go all,
you know, who cares about the gamblers? Well, no, it's
it's do you meet the expectations. It's not like the
people that are setting these lines are looking at it
and going, oh, we don't do a deep dive into
this stuff and look at the numbers like that's how
all that stuff is put together. The fact that they're
(14:30):
underperforming based on those expectations is an indicator that yeah,
maybe they're not third in the country like you know,
and we get to see how it plays out this
weekend obviously, and so.
Speaker 1 (14:41):
I'll just say wildly underperforming. And I don't even know
if you look at their schedule and say, like they've
really battled at all, you know, like they haven't truly.
I mean, this has been a huge test for them
in a lot of ways. From a matchup standpoint, from
a schematic standpoint, I think offensively to you know, Ohio State,
it's one of the best defense in the country, so
good luck. I mean, Jordan James went off the running
(15:03):
back this past week. I don't know, They're gonna be
run the football overs o High State, and they haven't
had much of a downfield passing game, So if you
haven't found it yet, it's gonna be hard to find
a versus the Buckeyes, I'll give them that much.
Speaker 2 (15:15):
Which was the team? Were you torn having Boise State
at fifteen? Was there anybody else in contention that you
were kind of going back and forth?
Speaker 1 (15:24):
Yeah, there was a number of teams I probably could
have put in that spot. Honestly. The tough thing for
me is I think when you look at Boise how
close they played Oregon, how much they've domined everyone else,
they felt like the most fitting team, you know, and
M's jumped all the way up to fifteen. Now in
the a people, I'm just not there with that team yet.
I think Kansas State it might be more fitting there.
(15:45):
You know, Missouri's a team that I know they lost
this past week, I mean absolutely drummed by Texas and
m but I'm not sure they're as bad as twenty one.
I mean, one team that we haven't talked about that
should be or is like strong in consideration I've got
them back at eighteen in my pool is Pittsburgh. I
mean that's a team that they can play defense. Eli
Holstein's been phenomenal so far from them at quarterback, Like
(16:08):
Pit's a team to keep an eye on moving forward
as far as how far they could climb the acc
and surprise a lot of people. So there was a
bunch of teams battling for that last spot. Elis Use
another one that's that's really right there at sixteen in
my opinion, so I said it before, like the defensively
they struggle, but that's a team that offense we can
put up some points as playmakers. So it's always tough
(16:29):
to kind of figure out who makes the most sense.
In this case, I think Ashton Genty has everything to
do with why they're at fifteen.
Speaker 2 (16:36):
Yes, he's incredible. Feel bad for South Carolina this week
because they're gonna have to see Alabama, and you know
they're gonna have a red ass based on.
Speaker 1 (16:46):
What happened last week against I just hope they don't
get penalties for you know, unsports and like conduct. Yeah,
what are they popping them for? Like one hundred thousand dollars?
Speaker 2 (16:54):
Fans jump on the field, the dB god, what's his name,
the guy who's two times Yeahbama.
Speaker 1 (17:01):
Yeah, Well, the rushing the field is always going to
come with a fine by the conference. Which it's funny
that one hundred thousand dollars fine goes immediately to Alabama,
so Vandy, I'm sure Vandy will gladly pay Alabama after
upsetting them for the one hundred thousand dollars. What I
was more alluding to in the matchup between Alabama and
South Carolina was Dylan Stewart, the outstanding defensive end for
(17:23):
South Carolina, was called for a penalty after taking out
what looked to be like a fake machine gun of
saw the weapon, Well, that was actually from Minnesota and
South Carolina. That's a different game. This was a whole
separate one. I'll try to send you the clip so
you're able to see what exactly Dylan Stewart did, but
(17:46):
it was pretty heinous. We can have fun with it now,
but hopefully young kids do not emulate that moving forward. Now,
what's worse the fake weapon or the throats last year?
Yes year, like which d you actually was going to say?
What was worth? Was PJ. Fleck trying to convince the
official that everyone does what his player did. Meanwhile, it
(18:09):
was nothing close to the gesture of putting on a
seat belt, you know, basically saying they've got them strapped in,
which is what PJ. Fleck was trying to claim the
player did, which is not what he did in any way,
shape or form.
Speaker 2 (18:23):
It is Two Pros and a Cup of Joe here
on Fox Sports Radio, Brady Quinn, Jonas Knox with you here.
It is a Tuesday, so we've got traditions. Not only
do we have the BQ Top fifteen, which you just heard,
but we've also got Pete Prisco who stops buying He's
yours next year on FSR.
Speaker 4 (18:37):
Be sure to catch live editions of Two Pros and
a Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn, LeVar Arrington, and
Jonas Knox weekdays at six am Eastern, three am Pacific
on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 2 (18:52):
Two Pros and a Cup of Joe. Here on Fox
Sports Radio, we are going to have another edition of
Lee's Leftovers coming up a little over fifteen minutes from now.
But right now we welcome in the man himself. Pete Prisco,
senior NFL columnists for CBS Sports, a CBS Sports HQ analyst,
(19:12):
a football savant, and a man who deserves respect and
if he doesn't get it, he'll just take it from you.
Speaker 1 (19:21):
Peek. Good morning. What's up guys?
Speaker 5 (19:24):
Where's Lamar? You suspend him today?
Speaker 3 (19:27):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (19:27):
I suspend him in the final hours or something like that.
I still can't get over this music, Pete, We've got
for you.
Speaker 5 (19:33):
I love it. I love it. Come on my song.
Speaker 2 (19:38):
So, Pete, uh you? LeVar is not here. He's been
on the other side of the Jets. Brady and I
had them, I believe as a playoff team. I know
you had him in the postseason. I think you had
him going to the AFC Title game. Aaron Rodgers now
got a low ankle sprain. Based on what you've seen
and what you saw on Sunday, how concerned are you
(19:59):
for the the New York Jets being able to make
a run in a Yeah, not an overwhelmingly good AFC.
But they've got an injured quarterback and he's going to
be forty one in two months.
Speaker 5 (20:10):
Yeah, I mean, okay, anytime you have an old guy quarterback,
that's always concerning if they start having injuries. But again,
what I see the problem being is they don't have
weapons in an offense that you have to have weapons.
And by that I mean, and you know, look, Aaron
Rodgers has never liked receivers in pre snap motion and
all that moving before the snap. He's a line up
(20:32):
over here, and you line up over there, and we'll go,
We'll decipher and go. It's not unlike what you know,
Peyton Manning used to do back in the day. But
the difference is Peyton Manning had Reggie Wayne and Marvin Harrison,
two Hall of famers and they were able to overcome that.
And plus, defenses have become much more complex now and
the post you know, the post snap movement has changed
and so I think you need to dictate. That's why
(20:54):
I think they're having problems. But here's what they need
to do. It's really simple. Go make the move to
get the vot day Adams. You know, if you want
to get Garrett Wilson, go and go get another guy
on the other side and help that offense. If you're
not going to change and make all that pre snap
motion and get creative the way teams are now, then
go get another great player. And if you're the Jets,
why wouldn't you If you're Joe Douglas and Robert Salad,
(21:17):
you're not win. If you don't win, you're not You
don't have a job, period, end of story. So go
make the move. You're giving up somebody else's draft picks
if it doesn't work anyway.
Speaker 1 (21:26):
Would you admit, though, this was the worst game he
has played and it really didn't have anything to do
with the personnel. To me, he just the three interceptions
in particular raw on him. Is that fair to say.
Speaker 5 (21:38):
Well, look, yes, I didn't think he played well. I
think his offensive line has sped him up a little bit.
I think he was still a little cautious about moving
the way he used to. But the throw he made
the band gig go, I mean, come on, you're veteran
this league. You got to know and read that and
drop that out. You know, he drops out there? You
have to see that, you know. So, Yeah, Brady, to
answer your question, I would agree with you one hundred percent.
Speaker 1 (22:00):
I think that was the more concerning thing for me
with it. But moving forward, I want to transition to
the quarterback. He struggled. Sorry, Jonason, I don't want to
jump on you, but were you out with Deshaun Watson
in Cleveland, Like, what's your remedy or what's your solution
to their problem?
Speaker 5 (22:17):
Put his ass down, period, That's what I would do.
I just don't think he looks like he's capable of
moving the football and consistently getting first downs and making
plays down the field. I don't know what happened to him.
He's a different guy. He doesn't play the positions. Look,
I always thought he was a little overrated, even when
he was used, and we talked about that, Brady back
(22:38):
in the day. I thought he was a little overrated.
I thought the move to go get him in the
assets they gave up and the money they paid him
was absurd. And now it's playing out that way, and
so why not try and put some you know, juice
into that team and get you know, get Jamis on
the field, let him play. I just think when you
look at the way he's playing. It's almost comical to
watch him take a drop. It's like take a drop,
(23:00):
move up, take a drop, move back. It's like he's
on a string from the center. He keeps moving up
and back and up and back, and then he'll move
left and right and he doesn't ever stand there. And granted,
the offensive line has not been good, they've had so
many injuries up there, but I think he's done. I
think he looks lost out there, and maybe time to
sit down will help him, or maybe it won't. Maybe
(23:20):
he's done. But the bottom line is they need to
make a change, and I think that the fact that
they haven't made a change is coming from high above
Kevin Stefanski. I don't think Kevin Stefanski ever wanted to
Shaun Watson. That was forced on him, and now he's
probably stuck playing him because that's being forced on him
as well.
Speaker 2 (23:37):
We were talking about this earlier Pete Prisco joining us
here on Fox Sports Radio, that we've seen Stefanski's offense
work with multiple quarterbacks, Baker Mayfield, they went to the playoffs.
They went to the playoffs last year with Joe Flacco,
So it does make the question why wasn't Flacco brought back?
Speaker 5 (23:53):
Why he wasn't brought back? In my opinion, and nobody
told me this, but I think this is why they
didn't bring him back, because as soon as you bring
him back and Watson goes to this period, everybody's screaming
for Joe Blaco to play. It wouldn't even been this long,
would have been two games in, and they didn't want that.
I mean, you know, Jamis is one thing. Joe Blaco,
who took the teams the postseason is another. And I
(24:14):
think that's why they didn't bring him back. They have
a hefty investment in this guy, and the people that
pay that bill they want to get return on investment,
no matter how bad it looks. And that's the problem
right now.
Speaker 1 (24:27):
Pete, I got to ask you about the quarterback situation
in Las Vegas. I mean, it seems like Antonio Pierce's
contemplating maybe going to Aidan O'Connell from Gardner Minshew. What
would be your thoughts on that?
Speaker 5 (24:40):
I mean, you are what you are, Brady. It always
bubbles to the surface. You can have those aberration games
and you can go to Baltimore and throw for its
three hundred wherever it did. But you always become what
you are. It doesn't matter. You can hide for a
game or two or whatever, but over the course of
the long haul, it always comes to the top of
(25:01):
the surface and there you are. I'm just the guy,
and that's what Gardner Minshew is. Will always be just
the guy. He's a great backup quarterback. That's a great job,
it's a great occupation. You can stay in the league
a long time. But let's forget about him as a
starting quarterback. Please put it the rest, once and for all.
Speaker 2 (25:17):
What was your thought on the Bills execution late in
that game against the Texans, throwing the ball three times
from their own three with thirty seconds left for three incompletions,
punting it away and setting up Kayimi Fairbaaron for a
game winning field goal.
Speaker 5 (25:34):
Horrendous. I have no idea what the hell they were doing.
I mean, look, that's two games in a row byway,
because remember they had this stupid fleet Flicker players at Baltimore.
That costs him a chance to get back in that game.
And then at the end of this game, run the
ball three times and use some of the clock and
make them use those timeouts. It made no sense whatsoever.
Speaker 1 (25:58):
Because here's why.
Speaker 5 (25:59):
Let's just say you get a first down, you get
ten yards, what are you doing then? Are you going?
Are you going to go? You're at That means you're
at the ten yard line. That means you're with twenty
eight seconds or whatever. Twenty six seconds. Does that mean
you're going to get a field goal?
Speaker 2 (26:12):
Now?
Speaker 5 (26:13):
No, your best case scenario is you get maybe the midfield.
I think you know you're not going to hit. They
didn't hit any long shots down the field other than
the one that Coleman made when he made somebody miss
on a quick throw. So bottom line is, no, you
run the ball, you go to overtime. That was stupidity.
It's fine, it's and hey, granted they've had their fair share.
Let's not forget about thirteen seconds back in the day
(26:33):
that cost them a chance to win at Kansas City.
Speaker 1 (26:36):
All Right, it's time for what could you care less about? Okay,
seeing Taylor Swift at another Kansas City Chiefs game, we're
discussing what exactly Ceedee Lamb said to Dak Prescott on
the sidelines. Despite the fact that they won on Sunday
night football sease me on Monday Night football or Sunday football.
Speaker 5 (26:54):
I care neither of it. I care nothing about either
one of them, Brady, to be honest with you, I mean,
I think the networks they've even gotten kind of gun
shy on showing her because they don't even show her anymore.
Did you You didn't even know she was at the
game until like it was halfway through last.
Speaker 1 (27:10):
Night, right, Well, unfortunately I knew she was going to
be there because they made such a big deal about
the fact that she was going to be there because
it was the first one she's been able to make
it to, and YadA, YadA, YadA. So yeah, I actually
I didn't know for a while this game was circled
because Taylor Swift was actually gonna be able to make
it to this one.
Speaker 5 (27:29):
Well, I could care. I could care less about either
one of them. A sideline argument. Sideline argument, they happen
all the time, you know, Brady. In the NFL, people
make up a big deal about those things that it's ridiculous.
It's unlike, it's not unlike any other job. People have disagreements,
and you have disagreements on the sideline people see him.
There was one in Jacksonville on Sunday, Gave Davis and
(27:49):
Trevor Lawrence got into it. It happens all the time, and
I've never put much stock into those. I do like
to know what they're about, though, that much I will
give you. I don't care if having the competition, But
that's that's.
Speaker 1 (28:02):
A repeat that I love about.
Speaker 5 (28:06):
Yeah, I got to get to I got to get
to the root cause of the thing. I mean, what
what was the reason? And then you go back and
you look and you said, you know what, maybe Gave
Davis was right, he was open in the middle of
the beetle. But as far as heat of the moment competition,
they mean nothing to anybody. But you know what tall
swift beet at the game probably means less.
Speaker 2 (28:24):
To be honest with you, Pete, what pick from this weekend?
Were you on the right side of that? Ultimately didn't
come through, But you don't regret it because you know
you had the right handicap going into the game and
it should have played out the way that you project.
Speaker 5 (28:38):
You know, it's funny we're starting I'm starting to get
text tweets from people on those since we talk about
it all the time, and you know, I love that Brady,
I was on the right side of that.
Speaker 1 (28:47):
I'm with you, Pete.
Speaker 2 (28:48):
I'm with you. That's my logic. So is there one
that jumps out to you this weekend that you yeah.
Speaker 1 (28:53):
Which one? Pete?
Speaker 5 (28:54):
Come tell us, well, I think I was on the
right side of the of the Bills game. If they
don't if they get points there at the end of
the half. I like the Bills of that game, and
I think they probably should have won the game. They
get a fumble and they get nothing. So yeah, yeah,
you know, I'll take the Bill and then the end
of the game, so I'll blame the coaching staff for
(29:14):
put me on the wrong side of that win. And
by the way, winning out, you'll always blame the coaches.
Always blame the go around the league to break.
Speaker 4 (29:23):
You know that.
Speaker 5 (29:24):
I always blame the coaches.
Speaker 1 (29:25):
But if you do, yeah, you do? Uh, Pete, I'd
be remiss if I let you go. We didn't talk
about your fighting Sun Devils four and one. Now after
they're nice win over Kansas, a back and forth game,
can we finally give your alma mater some props. I
think they're even getting some momentum to be a top
twenty five team. I know you're excited about it. You
hate talking about it until they're actually good.
Speaker 5 (29:46):
Forks out Pete, Well yeah, yeah, well they're not good.
They're just winning games against bad teams, and I feel Look,
I feel better about I like Kenny Dillingham. I think
he's doing a good job there. I think he's banging
his head against the wall because they don't have the
assets that all the other programs do. And then he's
winning games against bad teams. But let's see them start
(30:08):
winning games against good teams and then I'll be okay. Okay,
I mean if they do, if they start winning games
against good teams, and then I'll be excited about it.
But right now, I mean that Kansas team was supposed
to be good and they're not.
Speaker 1 (30:20):
That's not okay. Let me make the case. Let me
make the case for Arizona. Arizona State being in Kansas
where they are, they actually have a plus They have
a plus seventeen scoring margin, so they're actually so they're
one and five, but they have a plus seventeen scoring margin.
Outside of their win versus Lyndon Wood, they've lost by
one score to everyone, with the exception now of TCU.
(30:43):
But that being said, they haven't played the easiest schedule,
like Illinois was ranked to one point and UNLV was
ranked to one point. Like everyone they've played actually has
been kind of decent. They have a winning record, so
it's a bit surprising they're one in five. I do
think they'll get and then the problem is they're not
gonna get to an easier point of their schedule. They
still have k State, Iowa State, b YU, and Colorado
left in their schedule, so it's gonna be a long
(31:04):
season for Kansas. But they played a really tough schedule
for their standards.
Speaker 5 (31:08):
A little supposed to be it was supposed to be
a top twenty five team, Kansas.
Speaker 1 (31:12):
Yeah, I don't know.
Speaker 2 (31:13):
Okay, by the way, it wasn't Kenny Dillingham ranked the
worst coach in the Big twelve going into the season.
And wasn't that CBS that had that ranking system. You
remember Dion was ranked?
Speaker 1 (31:24):
Who was fot of them? Who was a Prisco? Why
is it chopping them? Now? Yeah? Did Dennis Dodd do that?
Pete or what?
Speaker 2 (31:29):
Well?
Speaker 5 (31:29):
DoD fo Well, you know what, here's the other day
they were ranked as the worst team in the conference,
and that was a slam dug. Everybody had him as
the worst team in the conference. And so, I mean, look,
kudos to what they've done. I just it's it's how
do you compete with Georgia and Alabama and all those
those you know, Ohio State, those power programs. You can't,
(31:50):
you know, you don't. It's never going to get to that.
It won't. And you can't cheat to that point anymore.
You know. It's not like you could one day try
and get there if you had boosters that were paid,
because everybody gets paid now, So how do you get
to that point? And I don't think you can and
they've done a really good job of getting transfers in there.
I think the quarterback is going to be a good player.
I mean, he's a young kid. He's a truth you know,
(32:11):
yeah Scotta, who's a tough kid too. I mean, I
feel like he takes way too many hits, but he's
a tough kid. But here's the thing, Brady, is there
any chance that after this year that Levitton looks around
and goes, you know what, I've played well here at
Arizona State.
Speaker 1 (32:28):
Now let me go to your pet Why do you
pony up and start paying these kids. Man, hey, do
you stop being so cheap? Pete? What did you say,
stop being so cheap? Pony up to start paying these
kids with an nil deal.
Speaker 5 (32:41):
It ain't that important to me here, up here, up here,
as much as anybody else, But it ain't that important, dude.
Speaker 1 (32:50):
Stay safe for the storm.
Speaker 2 (32:52):

All right, de Lap, what have we got?
Speaker 2 (34:33):
Well?
Speaker 3 (34:33):
I got something for you.
Speaker 6 (34:34):
Jonas you are looking at a heavy traffic load on
your way back home today, there's a three car pile
up on the westbound one oh.
Speaker 1 (34:41):
One, Bro. This happened one in the morning. They can't
clean this up yet.
Speaker 3 (34:45):
Yeah, it was stopped, literally stopped.
Speaker 6 (34:48):
We were wondering what it could have been. Apparently we've
found some details. Three car pile up. People are on
the road yelling at each other. No fatal least, thank goodness.
But if you're stuck in if you're looking at a
traff do you like stop and grab a bite or
do something before you head home?
Speaker 3 (35:04):
You just go right into it?
Speaker 1 (35:05):
How are you? How are you grab a bite if
you're stuck in traffic?
Speaker 3 (35:08):
Well, I'm saying before you go, you do you let
traffic kind of ease up? Like do you keep eyes
on it?
Speaker 6 (35:15):
Do you go like go to the ihop, go grab breakfast,
iron breakfast.
Speaker 2 (35:19):
I try and find an alternative route. But if like
you've got to drive and you're just gonna deal with
traffic no matter what, Like, especially on any time between
two and six pm, if you're heading south towards like
La towards Irvine, San Diego, any place like Anaheim, just don't.
Speaker 1 (35:40):
Even bother like literally do it. It's the It's the
most miserable existence in the world.
Speaker 2 (35:45):
I mean, you guys don't have that kind of traffic
in Ohio, but out here it's brutal.
Speaker 1 (35:49):
Yeah, traffic dictates your life. There's other parts of the
country too, South Florida it's like that, especially on ninety five.
I mean again, God bless and thoughts and prayers all
those who are gonna be hit by the Hurricane Milton
that's coming through. I've heard there's all sorts of different
stories about the evacuation routes and no gas on the
evacuation route, So scary stuff going on. But in regards
(36:11):
to this question, yeah, I hate when traffic dictates how
you got to live your life. And that's in essence
what you're talking about, Lee, And that would be terrible
to have to be like, I've got to leave two
hours early to get there, so otherwise it's gonna be
a three hour trip versus an hour and a half trip.
What's kind of LA living.
Speaker 2 (36:27):
Is they get away of people trying to evacuate their
showing the traffic like all over the place in the
Tampa area, it's crazy, like people can't move.
Speaker 6 (36:38):
I didn't go to the Packers game in La this
you know, Packers coming to LA this week just because.
Speaker 1 (36:44):
It sounded like a Packer's home game, a GV It
was unbelievable to listen to. It's like, this team's been,
it's won a Super Bowl, been to a Super It's like, still,
can't you really get a home fan? You know, home crowd.
Speaker 3 (36:55):
Would love to have been there, but hate too much
driving there and back. Not going to do it. Hey, guys,
bear with me on this one.
Speaker 6 (37:02):
I know we're all tired of the fat Bear week,
but we're in the finals. We got Chunk versus Grazer,
and just to add a little drama here, Chunk killed
Grazer's first born cup. So I don't know if that
proves that chun ideas.
Speaker 1 (37:16):
Were talking about it.
Speaker 3 (37:19):
It's my most important thing.
Speaker 6 (37:20):
I told you it's gonna be a lot just come
from it comes from Alaska. Millions of people are voting
on this. I vote Chunk, Chunk the baby killers. See
you see you want to see somebody's cub get murdered.
Speaker 1 (37:31):
Go to the website.
Speaker 6 (37:32):
Yes you can do that, all right, that's good Jesus.
I'll give you the finals tomorrow.
Speaker 1 (37:36):
Thanks. Bear with me,
