What's throwing that?

Speaker 5 (00:37):
Mic?

Speaker 3 (00:37):

Mike Cover.

At some point? Wasn't that happening? No?

Speaker 7 (00:54):
Yeah, I went to guitar Center. They didn't have any.

Speaker 6 (00:56):
Why would you need to go to guitar center? Why
are you coming out of pocket for I know.

Speaker 7 (01:00):
I just texted to I said, you owe Vara, Mic Cover,
I mean tell that's just yeah.

Speaker 8 (01:09):
I went to go get it for LeVar, but you
know they didn't have it.

Speaker 3 (01:13):
Community cover Man, story of my life. It's the way
it works.

Speaker 7 (01:16):
I could have sworn I got you one, like Curro's
got you one.

Speaker 3 (01:19):
No, nobody got me one.

Speaker 8 (01:21):
It's all right, but this is sorry, man, This this
microphone's got me feeling a tabit ill today, bro. Like
I don't know, it's like making me a little nauseous, man,
like I really could, like I have to go chuck it.

Speaker 4 (01:35):
Up, little little haltoast.

Speaker 8 (01:37):
No, it just does not smell right at all, man.
And this this dang I put. I put the wet
wipe dips on it, like the clean the cleansing wipes,
the disinfecting wipes on it, and it ain't working.

Speaker 3 (01:50):
Damn alatosis.

Speaker 5 (01:51):
Man' I don't know who you are that has breath

Speaker 5 (02:17):
How about them gators? Yeah, how about them gators?

Speaker 6 (02:20):
Speaking of halatosis, Nice job, Houston, way to go and lead.

Speaker 5 (02:27):
Well, yeah, what was the what was the question that
was posed last night by by one Jonas Knocks. Does
anyone recall the question?

Speaker 6 (02:36):
Well, look, I will give I will give those gentlemen credit.
Uh they did make the diving play on the floor,
uh to uh to get that loose ball at the end.

Speaker 5 (02:46):
So yeah, I mean Lee picks on yesterday's National Championship Camp.
It was our betting advice, soundly.

Speaker 3 (02:55):
Uh what did we pick?

Speaker 2 (02:57):
We picked?

Speaker 5 (02:58):
That's a good there we go.

Speaker 3 (03:00):
What was took the under?

Speaker 7 (03:02):
Brady took the under?

Speaker 3 (03:02):
That's right?

Speaker 7 (03:03):
Uh?

Speaker 5 (03:07):
And Florida granted I said money line. I believe Jonas
leaned Florida too, not mistaken because we.

Speaker 3 (03:13):
Were as money lined Florida.

Speaker 5 (03:15):
We were, so they were favorited, but we were surprised.
Spread was so small. Yeah, it was like a point
point a half, so it was close.

Speaker 3 (03:25):
I mean they did not look good.

Speaker 5 (03:28):
You know what I loved was at one point during
the game they talked to Calvin Sampson when Florida started
to come back, and he gave a little bit of
what he said during their time out in the break
and and he kind of you know, because they controlled
that game for the most part and really at points
dominated and he said to him, he's like, look, guys,

(03:49):
he's like, this wasn't supposed to be a blowout. He's like,
this was always going to be a close game. And
he's like, you guys know, this is a game of runs.
And he kind of preached to their toughness and and look,
in the end, they couldn't execut offensively to get it done.
Their defense led them this entire way. It led us
to an under bet that was in the.

Speaker 4 (04:07):
Bag at halftime.

Speaker 5 (04:08):
Yeah, but I will say this, I went and like
kind of went down to like a deep dive to
just how he runs his practices. You should see the
loose ball drills they do at Houston. It is like
watching football and like a fumble on the ground, like
dudes diving, dudes like throwing each other, like pass the

(04:29):
ball over anything they can to get the basketball. And
so you could see why Houston was able to make
it so far. That was like a tenacious, tough minded,
gritty team. So it's unfortunate ended the way it did
for them. But in the end, you know, Florida just
had some difference makers Clayton in particular, but they just
end up being the better team when it mattered most.

Speaker 8 (04:50):
Houston ruined the tournament because the better matchup, I hate
to do it, the better matchups it would have been Duke.
To me, it would have been a better matchup. They
they ruined the tournament and and upsets like, okay, that
they were a top seed, but that was still an upset,

(05:12):
and and it was an upset out of what would
be considered to be an untimely point in the in
the tournament. You know, okay, no Cinderella has made it
to the eight or to the you know, the four.
But the bottom line is is that it should have
been Duke playing Florida, and in a in the ideal world,

(05:34):
it should have been Due playing Florida. And who knows
how that that game goes. It was a close game.
It didn't really I don't know, it didn't really I
watched it. It didn't really do anything for me excitement wise,
and maybe I don't. You know, it's a championship game,
so you know, you want to feel the excitement of it.

(05:55):
I just I didn't really feel the excitement of it.
And it was it's kind of like at one point
it's like all right, you know, looked like Houston was
gonna maybe pull it out, you know, but I was
not surprised when Florida came back. Florida has been a
second a second half team. They showed it during during

(06:17):
the regular season. They showed it during this tournament as well.
So it's just kind of, you know, kind of one
of those deals where it was, what, what's the word
I'm looking for? Like it was like a you know,
you wanted more excitement for the win, but it wasn't
like I wanted more.

Speaker 3 (06:37):
I wanted to feel more excited about na not blue balls.
Are going to say blue balls, yeh, not blue balls.

Speaker 8 (06:45):
It wasn't a blue balls effect, Like I didn't feel
like I was built up and was left feeling built up.
Like it wasn't like that serious. I just was a
little bit.

Speaker 5 (06:55):
For more of a like a what may be because
I was looking for a more of an exciting, climactical ending.

Speaker 3 (07:03):
So maybe it is. Maybe it is ozul balls.

Speaker 8 (07:06):
Maybe maybe I wasn't maybe looking at like approaching it
from the blue ball's perspective, but maybe that's what it is.

Speaker 6 (07:14):
I mean, blame Duke. You know, Duke's the one who
gagged it away. Houston't win that game. On Saturday, Duke
lost it, and so Houston gave their best effort, showed up,
had a lead, had a twelve point lead in the
second half, and then decided, you know what, we want
to try what Duke did, and they collapsed as well too,
And now Florida is standing holding another national title.

Speaker 9 (07:34):
Rids.

Speaker 5 (07:37):
What kind of birds are they? I'm gonna try to
sing it to your photo. Just give me a second
hold on birds in town?

Speaker 9 (07:45):
You know.

Speaker 6 (07:45):
Uh Ron DeSantis, the governor of Florida, he pointed out
that there's one university that's got three national championships in
football and in basketball.

Speaker 3 (07:56):
That's Florida. That's right. Nice we think about that far.

Speaker 8 (08:02):
Good for them, Yeah, I mean they're good at athletics
in those two sports, two main sports. I mean that's
that's quite an accomplishment, man, you know back, Yeah, what
kind of are they?

Speaker 5 (08:14):
I'm gonna send it in they I don't know, I
don't really know follow birds or anything like that. I
meant and stuff for bad ass, but yeah, the plug
this in your bird app I mean, what is that?
I just said to the group chat, What does that
look like to you guys? It looks like that's a robin. Yeah,
such a robin. That's a breasted robin. Buddy. Those things
there's been like two or three of them. They're all

(08:35):
poking try. I'm like, what is happening? I said yesterday,
like the weather turned cold kind of quick of the
past couple of days when it was like extremely It's
like sixty seventy last week, and I'm like, maybe they
flew back north too soon and got tricked. They're like,
let me in.

Speaker 8 (08:53):
Robins don't migrate. I don't believe. I think that's one
of them. All year birds. They stay all year. They
deal with the cold.

Speaker 5 (09:00):
They need to get the hell up.

Speaker 3 (09:01):
Out of it.

Speaker 6 (09:02):
By the way, is that the seventh or eighth hole
on the golf course in your backyard where that picture
is taken?

Speaker 3 (09:08):
Brady? Where's that?

Speaker 5 (09:09):
I don't know. Is this has something to do with
your Cubs season tickets?

Speaker 3 (09:13):
I don't, Are you serious?

Speaker 4 (09:19):
Unbelievable? Yeah, this is uh that bird looks pregnant.

Speaker 7 (09:26):
According to my Merlin app, it is an American robin.

Speaker 5 (09:29):
Bam Rogers confirmed it.

Speaker 3 (09:31):
I know, I know not only did.

Speaker 8 (09:35):
Red breasted, I mean whatever, that's that's what people refer
to sometimes.

Speaker 5 (09:40):
And he gave us the infield. They don't migrate, so they.

Speaker 3 (09:43):
They don't, isn't that? Is that correct? Are they a
migrating bird looking for a place to leggs?

Speaker 7 (09:49):
Large songbird round body hops across lawns. Doesn't say anything
about migration.

Speaker 3 (09:55):
They don't.

Speaker 5 (09:56):
They don't them and the big as there's a say
why it continues to keep trying to break my window
so I can get inside here along with its buddies.
They will kill themselves when they don't see the window.
They will fly right into that bad boy and break
theirselves off. That was the problem with the Viking Stadium.
They was right, like the glare from the sun or

(10:17):
something like that. Birds were just ding ding. It's a
giant windshield.

Speaker 7 (10:24):
You are right, Yeah, it doesn't migrate, and it does
have that information here.

Speaker 8 (10:28):
Hey you know that uh that field when you're driving
to palm Springs like it like disintegrates birds that fly
over it.

Speaker 5 (10:38):
What do you mean, Yeah, yeah, it gets so hot,
just disappeared. Dang, that's crazy. Yeah, that energy be just
cooking them bye bye and I'll go over the out
of there, all.

Speaker 3 (10:56):
Right, portal. Knowing you that's a different type of portal. Yeah,
so listen that those, by the way, Bert's.

Speaker 8 (11:08):
Conversation Berg conversations are more interesting to me than the
ending of that messed up man.

Speaker 6 (11:16):
By the way, Lee, and we do want to point
this out for everybody listening and took part in the
tractor Supply Fox Sports and that's probably you know.

Speaker 3 (11:26):
Congrats.

Speaker 6 (11:27):
Congratulations to Billy L who had the best bracket in
the Tractor Supply of Fox Sports Radios. Really finished impressive
one hundred and seventy six points, narrowly eating two listeners
by one single point to take home the title. Billy
will win a twenty five hundred dollars gift card a
Tractor Supply and in the host how much in the

(11:50):
host standings, Congratulations to Chris Plank who finished first with
one hundred and sixty five points, follow UPUS and second.
Tractor Supply knows that a winning season takes practice, teamwork,
and a can do attitude. Thankfully, when you have a
neighbor like Tractor Supply, teamwork comes easy. Whether you're caring
for pet's chickens or a few acres, our team members
will help.

Speaker 4 (12:09):
You succeed season after season. Tractor Supply for life.

Speaker 6 (12:12):
Out here so I want Tractor Supply to hook me up. Yeah, yeah,
I listened. Plex finished second.

Speaker 3 (12:19):
Isn't that crazy? Yeah, it's pretty good. He did pretty
good last year too, didn't he? Hey? Where did he?

Speaker 6 (12:24):
What about the rest of us? Because I know Brady
finished first on the show? Uh Lee, but what about
where did I finish? And where did LeVar finish?

Speaker 3 (12:33):
Why are you asking where I finished?

Speaker 6 (12:34):
I just wanted to know.

Speaker 7 (12:35):
Well that that is correct. Brady did finish eighth, right
there with Steve de Seger. Jonas, you finished with one six,
uh plax again one eight Jonas. You had what was
it eighty three points for finishing twenty second, right next
to College Coward add Var sixty two points right there
with Dan Patrick and dead last.

Speaker 3 (12:54):
You had sixty was dead last?

Speaker 9 (12:55):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (12:56):
Heang sticks pick fixed.

Speaker 3 (13:00):
What are we doing the women's bracket?

Speaker 4 (13:01):
It last?

Speaker 3 (13:04):
You finished dead laughs haang boom or bus baby damn.

Speaker 7 (13:10):
Got the whole spectrum. And of course Lee finishing with
one right up there would have been fourth pleasing the spectrum.

Speaker 3 (13:22):
Damn. Interesting.

Speaker 6 (13:26):
Yeah, so congratulations to everybody involved. I'd also like to
point this out now that we are done with the
the NCAA tournament a great event is back right? It
is officially the week What is it a great event
of a week of that's a great event?

Speaker 5 (13:42):
Yeah? This right here, Yeah, that's a great event.

Speaker 3 (13:45):
Now what going to your last final burial? And and
then you fall in?

Speaker 6 (13:50):
How about those people they showing up was carrying a casket?
Fell fell right on in.

Speaker 7 (13:55):
When's the best weekend to get a viseecondy? Is it
March Madness or is it? Well, this is certainly the
music you would be listening.

Speaker 3 (14:02):
To to go get your vasectomies. Yeah, that's a.

Speaker 5 (14:05):
Great question, though, I mean the one thing I'll say
about the masters.

Speaker 3 (14:08):
They've done, which is a great question. You know nothing
about no vasectomy player.

Speaker 5 (14:13):
Well, that's true, but I contemplate this because if that's
in my future, I do have to pick a weekend.
And I was thinking about, like, March Madness is crazy,
it's fun. There's a potential chance you're going to react
to some of those games and you might actually get
up and hurt yourself move a little quicker than you should.
So I've actually thought about the excitement of March Madness

(14:36):
not being the time when you'd want to do it,
and the Master's being a little maybe more appropriate time
where it's a little calmer. Maybe you fall asleep and
nap while you're sitting on ice pack, something like that.

Speaker 8 (14:49):
How much paid time do you get off on getting
your your you know your thing you're tang laying handled
like that?

Speaker 3 (14:57):
How much? How much time? I don't, I don't. I
don't think it works like that. Why would you get
anything off what we don't have? No like recovery time
and you're I don't think so.

Speaker 4 (15:08):
Welcome marriage online.

Speaker 10 (15:10):
It says most men can go home the same day
after a procedure and should avoid any serious or strenuous
activity for one to three days, depending on your job
like business.

Speaker 3 (15:21):
Yes, radio doesn't really fall off.

Speaker 4 (15:23):
Why you can sit right there on your bag of
peace string?

Speaker 5 (15:27):
Don't don't back like a pigeon over there, right.

Speaker 3 (15:30):
Your vocal cords are connected to that area of your body.

Speaker 5 (15:34):
That is true. It can change the tone of your
voice when you get.

Speaker 3 (15:36):
On You got it, you know, because you speak from
your diaphragm and that's from your belly.

Speaker 6 (15:43):
Hey, I didn't think about that lead Does that have
an impact on your voice? Like if you percent you
get cut down there, does that take away a little
bits going.

Speaker 4 (15:51):
A hurt base.

Speaker 5 (15:54):
I doubt that because you don't want to send those
vibrations through your chords where it all the way down
into that landing area.

Speaker 3 (16:02):
You just don't want that. That's how it works, That's
how it works.

Speaker 7 (16:07):
Says it does not affect your voice.

Speaker 3 (16:09):
Oh god, they're lying. You're zero for two on whatever
it says.

Speaker 7 (16:14):
It doesn't even it says it doesn't even affect your
testosterone levels either.

Speaker 3 (16:20):
I don't know about all of that. Seems like it would.
Why you keep looking at me?

Speaker 9 (16:26):
Man?

Speaker 3 (16:28):
Why you keep looking at me? Have you done? Have
you gone through this before?

Speaker 6 (16:34):
Yeah, let's have this conversation off last Yeah, I said,
I do all right? Damn it is two pros and
a cup of Joe here on Fox Sports Radio. By
the way, tomorrow we drawing names out of a hat
for the Masters? Were doing that tomorrow? Are we going
to do that Thursday?

Speaker 9 (16:49):
Like?

Speaker 3 (16:49):
What are we thinking here?

Speaker 5 (16:51):
We can do it tomorrow tomorrow probably makes them a sense.

Speaker 4 (16:53):
And are we doing one name?

Speaker 3 (16:54):
Were doing multiple names? I'm good with one, just like
a bracket, you just need one. I'm good with doing none.

Speaker 4 (17:00):
Yeah, how about this?

Speaker 5 (17:02):
How about this? We do one and then we can
do another one Friday in the event that we got
some guys you aren't going to make the cut, Okay,
maybe we do another one.

Speaker 3 (17:11):
Then it's Tiger Woods in this pool. Oh no, no, no, no, no,
he tour his achilles. Oh okay, yeah, no, sorry to
hear that. Yeah, it's a bummer.

Speaker 6 (17:22):
It is a two Pros and a Cup of Joe
here on Fox Sports Radio. Coming up next year though,
here's what's not a bummer, Pete Prisco. Pete is here
a Tuesday tradition and he's yours. On Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (17:34):
Be sure to catch live editions of Two Pros and
a Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn, LeVar Arrington, and
Jonas Knox weekdays at six am Eastern, three am Pacific
on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 6 (17:49):
Oh yeah, Two Pros and a Cup of Joe. Fox
Sports Radio, LaVar Arrington, Brady Quinn, Jonas Knox with you here.
Coming up in about twenty minutes from now here from
the tire rack dot Com studios, we are going to
have another edition of Lee's Leftovers here on FSR right now.
Though it is a Tuesday tradition, it's a smooth tradition.
He is the smooth operator. He is Pete Prisco, senior

(18:10):
NFL columnist for CBS Sports, CBS Sports HQ analysts and
our good buddy. You can get on x at Prisco CBS. Pete,
good morning. How are we feeling?

Speaker 9 (18:20):
What's up, guys?

Speaker 3 (18:21):
How are you good morning? Yeah?

Speaker 5 (18:23):
Hey, Pete?

Speaker 9 (18:24):
What's going on? Brady?

Speaker 3 (18:26):
Not much?

Speaker 9 (18:27):
Man? Why I'm waiting for somebody to crack on me first? Why? Why?

Speaker 3 (18:36):
What do you mean?

Speaker 9 (18:37):
Because usually it's Brady making us taking a shot, and
then LeVar will chime in and Jonas will get me.

Speaker 5 (18:42):
Going, and then I really think about let me let
me kick us off here, because Pete watches a lot
of sports. So Pete, what do you think about last
night's National Championship In the finish of the game.

Speaker 9 (18:55):
You know what the what the Houston Cougar should do
is put their finger in their mouth and game act,
because that's what they did. And then they show, I
mean they show, Come on, you got a twelve point lead,
you're a defensive team. You didn't get a shot off
in the last minute and a half of the game.
I mean, it was a joke. And here's the other
part of the game. I hate where college basketball is going.

(19:16):
I'll be honest with you. I think with all the
transfers and the mid majors are no longer going to
be a factor in the tournament. And you know, I
just I don't know. I just think the tournament has
lost something when you don't have the possibility of a
mid major winning. And now all you have to do
is look around the portal which opened during the tournament,
which is amazing, and see how guys of a mid

(19:37):
majors are already leaving going to bigger schools. More power
to them by the way they're getting paid. But there's
got to be something done to try and then, you know,
stem it a little bit.

Speaker 6 (19:48):
Pete, what was your big takeaway from the owners meetings
down in Florida, Because we know you had to ditch
out early last week because you had some breakfast with
some blowhards down there. Did you get any interesting information
or any tidbitch you can pass along?

Speaker 9 (20:04):
Well, I will say I will say that when you
look at this draft, everybody that you talk to says
you got two or three really star players, and then
there's a group of from six to seventy that's all
the same, and so you're going to see people who
love to be able to move out of their spot.

(20:25):
The problem is who wants to move up? And so
I think the draft is coming up in a couple
of weeks is not nearly what people expect it to be,
and you're gonna see a lot of teams trying to
move out of their spots.

Speaker 3 (20:38):
Pete.

Speaker 8 (20:39):
With that being said, I'm seeing and I'm feeling like,
all right one and you tell me if you know
how you feel about it. But the canceling of the
private workout with Tennessee with schdor Sanders that was interesting.
Was that positive or negative? And then it just makes
me start to think, if he's going to slide in

(21:00):
the draft, he could slide all the way down him
and Dart could be available to the Steelers. And it
makes me wonder, It makes me curious, is that maybe
why Aaron Rodgers hasn't signed yet? Is you think maybe
that that the symptom symptoms of what's taking place with
this draft maybe playing a part in Aaron Rodgers seeing
who who who Pittsburgh may take in the draft before

(21:23):
he makes a decision.

Speaker 9 (21:25):
Yeah, but if you're the Steelers and you even I
think Rogers are still going to the Steelers. I just
think if you're Rogers and you're the Steelers, it's still
a short term marriage. You have to find somebody in
this draft to try and take you for the next decade.
And so would it be so bad to bring in
Aaron Rodgers and have Dart or Sanders or whoever sit

(21:45):
behind him for a year or two. I don't think
that would be such a bad thing. And Brady knows this.
He knows I'm a big believer in playing young quarterbacks
right away to find out what they are. But if
you're the Steelers, why can't you do both? I just
don't understand that. And so, yeah, I do think the
canceling of the meeting is a good thing for jusera
Standers because it tells you they're not taking them, they're

(22:05):
taking cam Ward. And it's also you know, when you
look at it, where does he slide? I think number
nine is a possibility. I think the Saints at number
nine are still a possibility for a quarterback, whether it's
Start or Sanders or one of those two, because they
need to address that position. Derek Carr big contract, mega contract.
They keep moving money out and he hasn't played up

(22:27):
to that contract. So at some point you have to
find yourself a young quarterback.

Speaker 5 (22:31):
Pete. Last time we spoke to you, you were at
the the break is there in Palm Beach, and I
think you were there for at least another day, maybe two.
How'd that finish up? I mean, did you get a
shrimp cocktail? Did you get anything there? Did you get
actually stay there on property? Or do you have to
commute back and forth?

Speaker 9 (22:48):
I have to commute back and forth. And by the way,
like I said, the NFL has limited the access to
that break or so hotel even for their own people
because you're not allowed to They only have like six
rooms per team now, so you get six guys get
in and the rest of the group has to go
stay at the Hilton or one of those hotels across
the way. Here's the other thing. You couldn't shoot your

(23:10):
camera shots looking at the hotel. They didn't want that,
and so you had to face a tree or something
like that. And so look, it rained the party on
Monday night. They had rain. It just it wasn't a
great meeting. And I'll be honest with you. You hear
rumblings they might not be going back there because I
don't think the people want them there. Think about that.
Think about the NFL money and what it is, and

(23:32):
the money that goes to that hotel doesn't want that
money and those people in the building. Think about that
for a second.

Speaker 3 (23:40):
You hang out with the top notch, the elites down
there in Florida.

Speaker 9 (23:44):
Apparently, Yeah, that's just right up my alley, because that's
what I am. I've always been one of those elites
that likes to, you know, go eat caviar and drink
high end champagne and talk about you know, grey poupond
and my coat, my pipe in my mouth and everything else.
That's exactly who I am.

Speaker 6 (24:00):
At Prisco, CBS, on axes where you can find them, Pete,
what are you hearing from people when they're discussing the
future for Travis Hunter? Is he going to be a receiver?
Is he going to be drafted as a cornerback? Are
they really going to try and do both? I know
he wants to do both, but doesn't this depend on
which team takes him and what their needs are.

Speaker 9 (24:22):
Well, I think if you're looking at the teams, most
of the teams I talk to now or at least
a majority of them are thinking he's going to be
a wide receiver and a great one. And again, I've
had comparisons to Justin Jefferson as a wide receiver. So
I think if you look at the teams that are
possibly going to take him, you know three, you know

(24:43):
the Giants, I think they're playing at wide receiver with neighbors.
He can also spot in and play corner, but you're
not gonna be able to play both ways. I don't
care what he says. I think you look at the Patriots,
they're going to play them at wide receiver. They have
two corners. You look at the Jaguars, if you were
supplied there, they would playm at wide receiver. And so
I think more and more you start hearing he's going
to be a wide receiver. I think the value of

(25:04):
the position used to be corner, but now you look
at it and it's wide receiver. It's right there with corner.
So I would initially I thought I would play him
a corner. The more watch his tape, I do think
he's going to be a great wide receiver. So I
think he's going to end up being playing more wide
receiver than corner and he'll spot in do some cornerback work,
but he's not going to play much more on that
defensive side of the ball.

Speaker 8 (25:24):
Pete, I know you'll agree with me on this one,
and I'm curious on your taking opinion. I really believe
Ashton Genty is the one that is primed to be
the most successful integrating into the National Football League out
of any of these top prospects coming out. I just

(25:47):
wonder should we be talking more about Ashton Genty possibly
going You know, maybe he should go to you know,
the Tennessee Titans. You know, they made a living of
it with Henry before, you know, with King Henry. Maybe
he could go to Cleveland even though they have Chubb,
but you know he's getting older and most certainly at three,

(26:09):
you would say it make maybe a dilemma pick for
them to possibly take. I'm trying to take Ashton Genty.

Speaker 3 (26:17):
What what say you on this?

Speaker 8 (26:19):
Because I know you're high on the value of what
running backs bring to the table, especially guys like Ashton
Genty being in this draft.

Speaker 9 (26:29):
Are you trying to get me going?

Speaker 3 (26:32):
What do you mean?

Speaker 9 (26:32):
What do you mean? Did draft a running back number
one overall? Come on? I mean and you mentioned Derrick
Henry because they have all those trophies that they're going
to put around the facility after they won super Bowls
with the running back. I mean, come on, the bar
of the value is it? Look, he is one of
the three star players in this draft. So I get it,
I understand it. You know, you're talking about Carter Hunter

(26:55):
and Genty. There are the three best players in the draft,
no doubt about it. But there are so many things
working against him when you say one or two or whatever,
and here's what they are. One, this draft is loaded
with running backs. You're gonna get guys in the third
and fourth round who are going to be big time players.
You don't need to take him there. Two, you're talking

(27:18):
about a running back. The value of the position is so,
you know, not as great as it used to be
because the way the game is played, and you're going
to beat him up and run them into the ground.
And by the year five, you're gonna be sitting there saying,
oh no, now we have to give him a contract extension.
And so you're wondering, Wow, he's going to be twenty
seven or twenty eight years old, do we want to
give him a contract extension, and everybody goes back to

(27:41):
this year, Well, Sakuon Barkley, You look with Saquon Barkley,
resurrected with Saquon Barkley, have been Sakuon Barkley if he
had stayed in New York. Answer that question is no.
You know, so there are only so many big people
that can play the position. There are only so many quarterbacks,
and if you don't have those guys, I don't care
how good your running back is, you're not winning a time.
So as great as he is as a player, it's

(28:02):
a deep running back class. There are a ton of
really good running back So no to the value of
the position. Kind of in the Gates effect, you would
take him that high tree.

Speaker 5 (28:13):
I thought one interesting thing that came out was the
NFL was actually the motivating factor behind the Detroit Lions
and the Green Bay Packers and both of the rules
changes they tried to get past with the competition Committee.
I didn't think like the NFL would take such an
active approach, and also I didn't think that they didn't

(28:33):
feel like they could actually say to the NFL owners,
he here's what we see from the league office side,
and instead have the owners do it. I know that's
been the tradition, that's how they've handled it. But is
that new? Has that always been the case And did
you think anything of that when you kind of heard
that news that there's maybe a divide or a fracture
between Roger Goodell, Troy Vince in the league office and

(28:55):
maybe some of the owners.

Speaker 9 (28:57):
No, it's always been that way, Brady, I mean the
other they've been behind the scenes. Now it doesn't usually
get out, but they've always been involved in that type
of situation. And that's why that that competition committee is there,
and that's why you have Choy Vincent around. They've been
involved and Roger was involved, and so yeah, am I surprised. No?
And you know some of the rules are just comp

(29:18):
Why not review bad penalties? It makes no sense. I
think it was the smart thing to do. If a
face mask is called and he doesn't grab the face mass,
why shouldn't you be able to do a quick replay
assistant overturn it. It makes no sense not to, So
I get it. Some of those rules, the toush push,
you know, they table it until May. History says that
that's not getting done. And because here's why, when you

(29:40):
go to those meetings usually in May. Those are just
owners and so you're not going to have the pushback
from the coaches and the coaches input and and the
GM's arguing about it. The owners just go there. They
usually want business done in those meetings, not football, and
don't I'd be surprised if that thing gets legislated out
of the game for next year. I think you're going
to see the touch push and by the way, should it.

(30:01):
I hate to play. I think it stinks. I think
it's a rugby play, it's not a football play. But
when you see Nick Siriani and that team and the
way they practice it and the way they rep it
and the way they've made it theirs, and so how
can you argue against the success of it, and how
can you argue it out? So I hate to play,
but I can see it's still being in next year

(30:21):
and should be in Pete.

Speaker 6 (30:22):
I wanted to ask you, uh, just about a tweet
that you sent a couple of days ago. There was
a highlight of Fred Taylor that was passed around. Somebody
tagged you in the tweet and said the Hall of
Hall of very Good, to which you responded, Hall of moron.

(30:43):
Do you want to speak about your actions and your
behavior on social media and why you continue to attack
people who disagree with you?

Speaker 9 (30:50):
Well, I mean, because I just that's not really attacking them.
I mean just I said he was going into a
special hall. So I'm kind of honoring you, are I.
I mean, there's just as a place for the moron
in the sports industry and the moron in the sports fandom.
And so he's earned his way and he's going to
have a special ceremony come I think I think it's August.

(31:11):
They're going to bring him in. It's going to be
the Hall of Morons. They're all going to get inductive,
that special, special, special place. And believe me, there is
a lot of you know, how you restrict the guys
that get into the Hall of Fame in the NFL,
there's no restriction on getting the guys into the Hall moron.
And so he's got a bus coming and he has
earned his way into the Hall moron.

Speaker 5 (31:32):
Hey, Pete, with the Masters coming on this week and
you're a big golf guy, you got any picks for us,
got any memories or anything you'd like to discuss in
regards to the Master's coming up.

Speaker 9 (31:43):
You know, I've never been, Brady, and I've always wanted
to go, and but it always kind of coincides with
the draft, so it's hard to work it out where
I can go. But I do want to go just
to see, you know, I know guys that you know
there used to be if you cover that. I still
think it is. If you cover the Masters, they have
a drawing for all the media that covers it. You
can play the course on Monday if you get picked

(32:04):
that day. And so yeah, oh yeah, Brady, that's true.

Speaker 5 (32:09):
That's a thing.

Speaker 9 (32:10):
Yeah, yeah, I know guys that have played and you
get to Yeah, it's right the next day after on Monday,
if you get picked, that would be so fantastic. I
would I mean, you know, god, I'd probably shoot one
hundred and fifty, but it would be still fun to
be out there. So I'd love to go. I will
go one day just to go watch it and see
it and you know, pay dollar fifty for a beer,

(32:31):
because I still think there's something, there's some charm to that.
You know, you go to an you go to a
concert or an NFL game or whatever. Nowadays you know
what a beer A beer? I go to a hockey game.
It's like around the drinks is like fifty bucks. It's incredible,
you know. So something to be said about the masters
now they keep the prices down.

Speaker 3 (32:50):
Good job.

Speaker 8 (32:51):
One hundred and fifty, that's a that's a lot. You're
swinging your your polls a lot, right, that's a.

Speaker 9 (32:56):
Lot of times. I didn't say one hundred and fifty.

Speaker 3 (32:59):
Yeah, fifty.

Speaker 9 (33:00):
If it was one hundred and it was one hundred
and fifty, you're.

Speaker 3 (33:03):
There all day, Pete.

Speaker 4 (33:06):
He's talking about your your golf score.

Speaker 3 (33:08):
You said you were going to shoot one hundred and
fifty at that.

Speaker 9 (33:12):
Well, I mean I could. I could be like Brady
and run around my driver and just hit my irons
off the g I could do that, actually, jeez. Yeah.

Speaker 5 (33:20):
Also, it's on the fourth story that I hit your drive.

Speaker 9 (33:25):
That's a true story. By the way. One of the
first times when I played with Brady, we went to
this club and play. We played nine holes and Brady's
playing and you know, he's hitting the hell out of
the ball because he's got to. He can hit the
hell out of the ball. And all of a sudden
he's playing with his iron and I'm like, Prady, what
are you doing. You know why he was He was

(33:46):
like a tennis player who runs around his backhand. He
didn't want to play it anymore. He didn't want to
play that drive. And so so finally we come down
to the end and he pulls out his driver again
because I talked him into it, and he yanked. He
yanked at about three hundred and twenty yards, but it
was about forty yards to the left and out of bounds.
True story, Brady.

Speaker 8 (34:03):
Uh.

Speaker 5 (34:04):
The part that's not true is it wasn't to the left,
it was to the right. But yes, that part of
it is true.

Speaker 9 (34:09):
Yeah. So so here's that was such a proud moment
of me. I got into his head so bad I
forced him to pull the driver around.

Speaker 5 (34:19):
I mean, I wish it was that simple, Pete, and
I love you, but it was. There's certain holes you
don't need a driver on. So I didn't hit dry.

Speaker 9 (34:27):
But you know, the kicker to that story is we
were relatively close, but I hit one into the trap
and you got into my later. And do you remember
that you're going you guys are come up and you
drive up and you go, You're never getting out of there.
You're never getting out of there. And I'll be damned
if I never did get that. I don't say so. Yeah, head,
games and golf, even when you're not as good as

(34:48):
your opponent, are very good. And by the way, I
am not as good as Brady. Quinny's a really good golfer.
He can hit the hell out of the ball. But
you compete it inside you head.

Speaker 5 (34:56):
What why don't you guys come up for the charity
of that? I feel like I get other folks, got
Kaiser and others coming up for it. Why don't you
come up for it?

Speaker 9 (35:03):
When is it? I think it's in the smack dab
in the middle of training camp.

Speaker 5 (35:08):
It's not. It's before it begins. It might it might
actually be at the beginning for you, when you usually
take off. So I'll send you the dates. We'll figure
this out.

Speaker 9 (35:16):
I would love to. I would love to if I could.
I would love to because you play teams though in
that don't you You play a scramble.

Speaker 5 (35:24):
You play a scramble, but it's more about just having
fun and especially having you around the course to keep
things lively, maybe getting a fight or two.

Speaker 9 (35:31):
Well, yeah, yeah, I just don't put me with Kaiser
because he gets into my he gets into mind. He's
an irritant.

Speaker 4 (35:38):
He does talk a lot of the course he does.

Speaker 9 (35:41):
By the way, I am playing golf. I'm not good
at golf. I've gotten better. I'm not good at golf.
But I love messing with people who in their heads
like I put you know lejay that works with us?
They dousable. He played with him, I put with him
the first time. He is as slow as slow can be,
by the way. And here's what he did. He gets
he gets first hole, first hole, he gets like a

(36:03):
ten because I count the strokes on everybody. And he
comes in. He puts the score and he goes, what
do you get? He goes, I got an eight? And
I go, wait. Now it is the first time I'm
playing with him. I go, wait a second. I go,
you got a ten. And I go, you went here here, here,
into the water over here, over there, over there. That
doesn't add up to eight. You got a ten. And

(36:23):
so I call him the subtractor when he's sitting tracks
off his score.

Speaker 5 (36:28):
He's got a nickname for everyone. He just doesn't have
a nickname for himself. That's the problem.

Speaker 9 (36:33):
I mean, can you believe that the very first hole
you got you, Oh I got an eight? No you didn't.
You put him? And then there's those guys with the
handicap as. Oh well, my handicapped system says I can
only put down the two over or I can only
put down up to him. Now you just hit the
ball fourteen times sometimes and you're gonna put down an eight. Brady,
Come on, is that real? Is that the real thing?

Speaker 5 (36:54):
You put down their eight because of USGA scoring. That's
technically how they're supposed to do it. Actually, there is
a max, but I get it.

Speaker 9 (37:03):
But when you're playing a a in a scrappy game
with a bunch of scrappers, you put down what you get,
you put down.

Speaker 5 (37:08):
Okay, Pete, we're living in your world.

Speaker 6 (37:10):
So whatever you say, Ape way to keep honest. Thanks

All right, the lap?

Speaker 5 (38:23):
What do we got?

Speaker 3 (38:24):
Guys?

Speaker 7 (38:25):
I got hoodwinked yesterday. Everyone was very happy with it
being National Beer Day, and of course we talked about
it and the fact that I'd get myself a nice
cold refreshment for the game. So I went ahead and
did that. But I had gotten some tweets out there saying, hey,
seven eleven is giving away twelve packs with the seven
dollars and eleven cent cents off, So I went and
check that out. Wasn't the case, but I was able

(38:47):
to find it for three dollars off. So if you
got bad info on on X, I did get bad
info on It's like, yeah, it was like too good
to be true. Seven dollars and cents off a twelve pack.

Speaker 5 (39:01):
That must shocker. All the booze hounds give you bad information.

Speaker 4 (39:06):
That must have deterred you from buying the beer, right,
it did deter me.

Speaker 7 (39:09):
From buying the twelve pack. I got myself just a
nice TALLI and a beat bos.

Speaker 3 (39:16):
But you still got something?

Speaker 5 (39:18):
Yes, are you trying to get? Are you trying to
get a partnership with the Beatbox? Is that what we're doing?

Speaker 3 (39:22):
Trust me?

Speaker 7 (39:23):
We could, Uh, that'd be a very nice mutual relationship.

Speaker 5 (39:26):
What is What is it about the beat Box you like?
Is the value the buzz you get?

Speaker 7 (39:30):
Yes, the value and the buzz. It's eleven point on,
it's eleven percent ABV and it's only four bucks.

Speaker 4 (39:36):
It's great.

Speaker 3 (39:36):
It's a good deal. It's great.

Speaker 4 (39:38):
How big are they?

Speaker 5 (39:39):
Four bucks?

Speaker 7 (39:40):
Yeah, I think it's four bucks. It's like it's a
decent size. It's like the size of awe. I'd say
twelve ouncer.

Speaker 3 (39:47):
Does does?

Speaker 7 (39:47):
It's better than a buzzball.

Speaker 3 (39:48):
I'll tell you that, better than a buzz ball.

Speaker 7 (39:52):
But you gotta serve it chilled. It's gotta be a
nice beat.

Speaker 4 (39:54):
Boxes and buzzballs.

Speaker 5 (39:56):
The story of leave the lap.

Speaker 7 (39:58):
Throwing some chee cheese, che cheese, Long Island.

Speaker 4 (40:01):
Oh my gosh, Oh what else you got?

Speaker 7 (40:04):
I don't know if there's time for this story. I'll
save it for tomorrow. It's a good one.

Speaker 3 (40:08):
You'll love it.

Speaker 7 (40:09):
High school are arrested for something you don't want to
you don't want to know.
