You're listening to Fox Sports Radio, Two Pros and a
Cup of Joe, Fox Sports Radio, LaVar Arrington, Brady Quinn,
Jonas Knox with you here as we hang out with
you here on a football Friday, and it's actually a
football Friday, Like we got NFL preseason games, but we
(00:53):
got college football games ready to rock here, and we're
not going to be dismissive or disrespectful to the week
Z Euro crowd, including a game in Dublin. Does that
bring up memories for you guys? Every time you see
the game in Dublin nowadays?
Speaker 1 (01:07):
Such good memories. I mean, I can't speak for all
of us, but I'll speak for three of us. I
mean It was a tremendous trip, unforgettable trip. The hospitality,
the culture, the heritage, the history of everything there, you know,
the the Jamison againness tealing tealing, by the way, way
better than Jamison. Sorry if that sets some fans out there,
(01:29):
just letting people know facts. Enjoyed it all, enjoyed it all,
and the people there are just so awesome that to
hang with and talk to, get to know, it's just
an overall great experience.
Speaker 3 (01:41):
Yeah, it's amazing, It's amazing. Definitely was glad he could
speak for you.
Speaker 4 (01:47):
Guys.
Speaker 2 (01:48):
Here's what here's what else is amazing?
Speaker 4 (01:51):
All right?
Speaker 2 (01:53):
When something's been gone for so long and then it
decides to return.
Speaker 4 (01:58):
Well, are you talking about your sex life?
Speaker 2 (02:00):
Well that's never coming back.
Speaker 1 (02:07):
Soel that.
Speaker 2 (02:11):
That son of a bitch died a long time ago.
My wife didn't say I do, She said Riverside, right,
all right, he's down, fine, man down?
Speaker 4 (02:27):
What sex?
Speaker 2 (02:29):
But uh, but we do have uh, we do have
some good news for people out there on this football Friday.
It's a return of.
Speaker 4 (02:37):
This who.
Speaker 1 (02:46):
What, let's go nice show Some people they don't respect
weeks zero. This is the start of the college football season,
all right. The games kick off this weekend. Jonas mentioned
it the wonderful matchup in the Big Twelve, Iowa State
and Kansas State playing in Viva Stadium in Dublin. It
(03:07):
probably should be named something else. Maybe I'm pronouncing that wrong.
I don't know, you guys tell me this one though.
It's been a tight matchup, a fun matchup through the years.
Iowa State that has gotten the better of Kansas State
in four of the last five matchups, including last year's
twenty nine to twenty one victory. And this is gonna
be a tight one. Iowa State is getting three points.
(03:30):
And that's how I see this whole game playing out.
You know, Matt Campbell, Chris Climbing, they're two of the
best coaches in college football, very steady programs. I'm gonna
lean on though. Iowa State here, Rock Obeck has actually
been the most prolific over the past couple of seasons. Now,
he did lose Higgins and Noel, they were actually the
most productive duo of wide receivers in college football last year. However,
(03:54):
Carson Hanson the running back, he's back, very productive player,
and they went to the transfer portal that he got
a East You transfer and Chase sol They went to
UCF as well to get Xavier Townsend, so they filled
some of the voids that were left behind to that degree.
We'll see if they can replace what Higgins and Noel
did last year on defense, though they got four returning starters,
(04:14):
it's really about coach Haykok, their defensive coordinator. Last five seasons,
they've held opponents under twenty three points per game, pretty consistent,
pretty ridiculous. On the other side, you've got Kansas State,
led by their quarterback Avery Johnson. The real question is
is this the season he breaks out? A lot of
people had him as a dark horse, potential Heisman candidate.
Remember this is who Kansas State picked instead of Will Howard,
(04:37):
who ultimately transferred and led the Buck Guys to a
national championship. So that's how much they think of av Johnson,
who's a true dual threat quarterback. And we'll see what
Matt Wells, who's taken now over as the sole offensive coordinator,
has in store. And I remember the name Dylan Edwards.
Really productive back last year about seven over seven yards
(04:57):
per carry for them. He was the Colorado transfer who
did great job as a freshman transferre to kse State
very productive. He's gonna get a bigger rule with Giddins
now moving on to the NFL. So I kind of
gave you a little hint of where I want to
go with this one. It's going to be tight. So
I like Iowa State. I'll take the three points. And
I also think this game hits the over. That might
be because the last time we were there we saw
(05:19):
an absolute blowout, which we Notre Dame blown out in Navy.
I just feel like that stadium's born to see some action,
see some points. They really just missed LeVar if they
want to see a little more action. But that's how
I've got this game going to kickoff. Quinn's wins twenty
twenty five. Iowa State plus three, you take the points,
might even outright win it the way the last four
(05:40):
to last five gone and the over of fifteen and
a half. Next matchup, we had the Lawrence, Kansas. They're
kicking off the new stadium there in Lawrence. It looks phenomenal.
So congrats to the Jayhawks. A four hundred and fifty
million dollar renovation in their stadium. It feels like homecoming,
Lance Leipold said, and heading into this game. And look,
(06:00):
last year was a step back for them. You know,
Kaans went five and seven. Jaylen Daniels missed a little
bit of time. He's missed some time over the past,
you know, a couple of seasons. But he's back as
their starting quarterback. He's one of the best in college
football if he's healthy. It's a the field's you know,
slanted very much so in their favor. I will be
curious to see, though, with the added pressure of you know,
(06:21):
five and seven last year, if they don't figure out
a way of climbing back up to one of the
top teams in the Big Twelve. You could see some
some rumors as people maybe maybe they want to move
on and go in a different direction. But Kansas taken
on Fresno State. A bunch of changes at Fresno State,
new head coach and Matt Enz He's coming from North
Dakota State. We know how successful that program is at
(06:42):
that level. However, different jump here. They do bring in
a transfer quarterback and name there should be very familiar
to a lot of folks out there.
Speaker 5 (06:51):
E J.
Speaker 1 (06:52):
Warner. Yes Warner as in the son of Hall of
Fame quarterback Kurt Warner. He transferred from Temple to Rice,
now Rice to it's a state or excuse me, two
Fresno state, and he actually won a three quarterback battle
for the starting job. Now, the concern here is a
lot of hype. Kansas returns a good number of players
(07:12):
on defense, and you've got, you know, a new stadium
everything around this. It's gonna be a tough environment him
to play. He struggled with turnovers in the past. Can
he clean that up?
Speaker 4 (07:21):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (07:22):
But that line's at thirteen and a half right now.
It's a little too big for an opening game of
the season for me, So I'm gonna stay away from
the spread. But I like the over of fifteen and
a half. With the healthy Jalen Daniels, this Kansas team
can score and I do think matt Enz two will
be able to get some points out of his team
as well with EJ. Warner at quarterbacks. So there's the
(07:43):
three picks so far for Quinn's wins in this first
edition of Troy twenty five.
Speaker 4 (07:47):
So I'm talking about nice.
Speaker 2 (07:48):
So what I'm talking and best part is, you know,
if those don't go well, you got those Rainbow Warriors
in the main event against States.
Speaker 1 (07:57):
Well, yeah, yeah, the Rainbow Warriors Timmy Chang. By the way,
odd fact, if Jalen Daniels gets hurt in this game,
the backup it's like NFL ties all the way around
on this one. Uh is Chris Ballard, the general manager
for the napsis Colts his son. Remember he was in
the scouting apartment with Kansas City. His son actually has
gone all the way from a walk on a third
(08:18):
string into winning the backup battle at Kansas So kind
of need a little story too. And in the event
that Jayleen Daniels gets hurt in this game or any
game this season, which obviously he's experienced injuries, h Ballard's
Chris Ballard's son, it's gonna be backing them up. There
we go, Here we go.
Speaker 2 (08:36):
By the way, VARs, your son getting nervous for a
week one?
Speaker 4 (08:40):
Why are you getting nervous?
Speaker 2 (08:42):
You know, big time, big stage, big shoes to fill, big.
Speaker 4 (08:46):
Shoes to fill. Yeah, I mean he wears a size thirteen,
feels him pretty good.
Speaker 2 (08:52):
Yeah, he's not fine. Are you more nervous than him?
Speaker 4 (08:56):
Uh? I don't know, I'm excited.
Speaker 3 (09:01):
I mean you got to keep in mind, my daughter
is going to be chairing, So I when I come
out onto the field, I get to see the pregame,
like hype and festivities with like blue band. I really
love my blue band, you know, I don't think they
get enough recognition or you know, exposure, so I like
bringing them up. But blue band is the the bomb,
(09:24):
so I like, I like all of it, man, and
I have a good time with it. But I'm going
to get to see my daughter in the uniform on
the field for the first time, which.
Speaker 6 (09:34):
Is who the Hell's blue band? Our blue band? You
know you're a band, marching band. Yes, that's what they
call blue band, the blue band? Who the Penn State
Blue Band? Yeah, we could keep saying it too, because
you can't. We just can't even say it enough. I mean,
the job that those guys do, it's amazing, you know,
(09:57):
they do an amazing job. Every school that has a
band that sets a tone, which Notre Dame had a
very cool band. You guys set a tone for what
you guys do with your band. I love an amazing marching.
Speaker 3 (10:11):
Band, like that's just Ohio State's even though I hate
to admit it, I mean they're freaking phenomenal.
Speaker 4 (10:18):
I mean they're phenomena.
Speaker 1 (10:19):
That's what they say.
Speaker 3 (10:21):
I mean they set a tone. I tell you that
they set a tone. So I'm a big proponent of
the music aspect of the games and Blue Band that's
my mob.
Speaker 4 (10:32):
I rock with them. I love them. They're my people.
They know it.
Speaker 3 (10:35):
I spend time with them before every game. I hype
them up, like when when everything is getting going, like
when they got to get.
Speaker 4 (10:42):
In to step into to.
Speaker 3 (10:44):
Motion right before the drum major goes to the center
of the field and does it split and then comes
back and does it in the end zone. I get
them hype. I'm the hype man. So I don't know
about my kids being nerves. I'm sure they're going to
be nervous. I mean, it's been their dream to be
on that field to the capacity that they're going to
be on it next Saturday, So I'm sure they'll have nerves.
(11:07):
But I'm just excited to see them. I don't think
i'll be nervous. I think I'll be really really loubed up,
really well. I'll be feeling really really good, and I'm
going to be super excited to see the twins fulfill
their dreams.
Speaker 1 (11:22):
Right there. That's a great father advice. You get at
looped up and you go out your parent.
Speaker 3 (11:26):
Yeah, yeah, you know, look at the benefits of it.
Trish will be there to experience it and watch it.
Penn will be there at Penn State. You know, Penn
Penn Errington at Penn State. Like he's going to be wonderful.
Speaker 2 (11:40):
So yeah, you guys are going to do the tailgate
and then roll right in.
Speaker 4 (11:45):
I will tell.
Speaker 3 (11:48):
I will be with my men, Scott Walker at the
Spike Stadium and we will be getting it in and
I will say this, I'll probably be walking around with
uh minikeg on my back. That's stick City Wheat Citrus ale.
Speaker 2 (12:06):
Man, it must be nice.
Speaker 3 (12:08):
And you'll be able to conveniently locate a Stick City
Citrus l in side of the stadium.
Speaker 2 (12:14):
By the way. Wh Hey, by the way, did Notre
Dame change their logo because I'm trying because there's some
people that are upset that there it was them holding
out there like people didn't like the fact that they
were holding out. You're holding out your fists and the
logo and then.
Speaker 1 (12:31):
The the d I was actually I saw the story.
They were actually trying to basically say that lepre cons
are very upset about this, and so there they're gonna
be protests, they're gonna they're blaming Trump.
Speaker 4 (12:43):
There's a real group of people that are leper cons.
Speaker 1 (12:47):
I'm just telling you what I read. It could have
been a spoof story. You know, there's some of those
that I get fooled by.
Speaker 4 (12:51):
I'm saying, but there's a group of people that are
called leper cons.
Speaker 2 (12:55):
Yeah, no, more fists. Now he's just carrying a football.
Speaker 1 (12:58):
Yeah, it's actually that's oh wow, it's a football specific logo.
So that's kind of the biggest changes.
Speaker 3 (13:05):
Like why can't why can't the little man hold out
his fist?
Speaker 4 (13:09):
Y'all coming to beat some egg?
Speaker 1 (13:10):
It's awesome too.
Speaker 4 (13:11):
Why can't he come?
Speaker 3 (13:12):
Like that's the old school fist Like they're they're turned backwards.
They're not like, you know, cock like like you know,
new school, put them up, put them up, Come on, like,
come on, man.
Speaker 1 (13:28):
Yeah, I don't know. I'm just joking, obviously, I don't.
I don't think anyone was really offended by it. But
I mean I'm sure Jodas found someone on the Internet
or social media who's offended.
Speaker 4 (13:35):
Yeah, well he's a big fan base.
Speaker 1 (13:39):
Well, no, everyone's offended by everything, So I'm not surprised
that if there was somebody who took offense somehow to
the Notre Dame you know mascot and uh, you know
logo that's been there for god knows how long. But
the new one school and the one's very cool. It's
a Lepton holding a football kind of running almost like
the uh Notre Dame Heisman version, uh with the leprechaun
(14:01):
kind of. But here's what it comes down to. Do
you know how much merch they're gonna sell? What that
new look? Oh yeah, they're gonna make so much money.
Speaker 2 (14:11):
It's it's like a jersey number change.
Speaker 1 (14:13):
It's gonna makes so much money.
Speaker 2 (14:15):
I think it's better than the old one. I'll be
honest with you, Like.
Speaker 1 (14:18):
I would actually be curious to send it to me
if they ever did change from under Armour to Adidas,
or if they could figure out, no, they get paid
so much from under arm.
Speaker 4 (14:31):
Oh I know, I was that was still going on.
Speaker 1 (14:35):
What would be interesting is, well, they just redid it,
but if if they could find a way to go
to a different apparel provider, if they would see a
spike in sales purely from people wanting to have that
newer brand, whatever it is, whether it's you know, Nike
or Jordan Brand or Adidas. To go back to that,
it would I'd be interesting to see if that was
the case. I've been lobbing for a champion. I think
(14:58):
we go back to the champion jis. Oh yeah, how
sweet would that be?
Speaker 3 (15:02):
That would be sweet that Nike cleats and Champion jerseys
or like, you know, Champion cleets too.
Speaker 1 (15:11):
Well, yeah, I don't think we need to go that direction.
Speaker 4 (15:14):
I'll be blowing out ankles.
Speaker 2 (15:16):
Damn.
Speaker 3 (15:17):
Hey, Champion jersey for Notre Day would be fire. Hey,
gonna lie, you get it exclusive. You might even get
in on that one. Give me a seventeen jersey for certain.
Speaker 2 (15:27):
You get him exclusively in East Bay magazine.
Speaker 4 (15:30):
Well, dude, they don't have that anymore, do they. I
don't know, Probably not. I don't think they do.
Speaker 3 (15:35):
But that, I mean, that's definitely what it used to
be about, jumping that East base.
Speaker 2 (15:39):
So I just sent you the logo, the new Notre
Dame logo of art's a little bit different than the
link you sent with.
Speaker 4 (15:45):
Let me see what although something crazy.
Speaker 1 (15:50):
It looks like the way he's running, he's trying to
imitate the Notre Dame.
Speaker 2 (15:54):
Yeah, definitely, it looks like he's almost.
Speaker 1 (15:59):
Maybe that's what he was doing. Maybe he was like,
maybe a little nas is a big Notre Dame fan.
Speaker 2 (16:03):
He's got a little bit more son than the Notre.
Speaker 4 (16:04):
Dame logo though.
Speaker 3 (16:06):
I mean that Notre Dame logo is a little pale.
So how do you guys do a different color? Leper
Kahn moving forward? If this is how pale your your
logo is, how does that work?
Speaker 4 (16:19):
Oh, we don't discriminate.
Speaker 3 (16:20):
Anyone could be a Leprechaun, I know, but this Leprechaun
in particular looks Oh.
Speaker 1 (16:25):
You're saying people are gonna be offended by the fact
that he looks white in this one.
Speaker 4 (16:30):
I mean, it's possible that people could have an issue
with it.
Speaker 1 (16:33):
I'm sure there will be different versions, you know that
come out. It's like Home Depot and Low's. You know,
you go pick up your Santa Claus. There's not just
one these multiple colors.
Speaker 2 (16:43):
Can I ask you a question, what's wrong with being white?
You know what I mean?
Speaker 4 (16:47):
Like, is Lee.
Speaker 2 (16:51):
So the mascot white? I mean, what's wrong with that?
Speaker 1 (16:54):
Yeah? I mean, are you telling me LeVar that if
we were a little nas run around our underwear like
people condemn us. I mean, it feels like they're just saying, Oh,
it's just a drug overdose, No big deal.
Speaker 4 (17:04):
What.
Speaker 2 (17:06):
Understand? What's your problem?
Speaker 4 (17:07):
LaVar?
Speaker 1 (17:08):
Yeah, LeVar, hey man, why can't we run around underware?
What can't we do that?
Speaker 3 (17:13):
We want to twenty twenty five, the new skin, the
new sin that's your skin? Or wait, wait, the new
skin that's your sin is white? Yeah, there you go,
twenty twenty five, the new skin, sin is white.
Speaker 4 (17:30):
There you go. I don't know.
Speaker 3 (17:33):
I don't know what to tell you, guys, but you
have to. You have to deal with it. It's LaVar.
I just want to tell you this. I appreciate that
you overlook that to do the show with us. You know,
it's a challenge. You know, you have to figure this
out every single day. I have to get in the character.
But you know, it is what we've already text about this, LeVar.
Speaker 1 (17:53):
We've already texted you need to lean into some things
a little bit more behind the scenes.
Speaker 4 (17:57):
It's all leaning to one of Johnson.
Speaker 1 (18:00):
We've already discussed this, all right, Jonas and I put
a lot of pressure on you for the future to
figure some things out, and you're just We're gonna have
to lean on you a little bit.
Speaker 4 (18:09):
What are you alluding to right now? What are you
get that right now? Okay?
Speaker 2 (18:13):
Yeah, come on, use your advantages. I first rule of
fighting got an advantage.
Speaker 4 (18:18):
Use it. You know, what are you guys getting at?
You know we're getting that.
Speaker 3 (18:24):
I don't know what you gott getting at.
Speaker 1 (18:29):
We talked about this. Do you not remember were you?
Speaker 7 (18:32):
Do?
Speaker 1 (18:32):
You want vacation?
Speaker 3 (18:33):
Comfortable waking up at this hour any And I do
not feel like I should be held to this time
slot based upon the fact that well.
Speaker 4 (18:49):
I need more sleep from.
Speaker 2 (18:51):
The bottom of the deck.
Speaker 4 (18:53):
At the bottom of the deck.

Speaker 7 (21:19):
Had guys.
Speaker 1 (21:21):
Uh aby, Can I make an observation real quick before
we kick this off. I've noticed you're getting a lot
more involved on social media. I mean you're even giving
us like great content, like ig stories of following you
as you're traveling to the different camps. Is this like
a new Year, New you.
Speaker 7 (21:40):
What do you say? I bet you?
Speaker 1 (21:47):
I said, you're really trying to up your like social
media Instagram game with providing a lot of these these
stories of your travels going to different camps. Is this
a new Year, New You?
Speaker 7 (22:00):
So I couldn't make out the question. I don't know
if my connections dot but yesterday was kind of like
an experimental thing because I was doing it was like
weird because I want, I plan to go the Ravens
Commander's Choice practice, and they wound up canceling it. So
I spars as they're a way I could do both teams,
(22:20):
and the schedules worked out where it made the most
sense of me to try and do them both the
same day, and it was a cluster trying to do
them in the same day. I figured, Okay, like I'll
I'll shoot a bunch of videos that I'll take people
through like a bactic day or whatever. So I'm glad
you liked it. But I still couldn't make your question
(22:41):
there because I don't know if my connects is bad.
But it sounds like you're talking through a uh sounds
like you're you're you're you're talking to like a good
can or something, which probably means that I sound the
same way coming through the other side.
Speaker 4 (22:56):
I don't know how we continue then this way, Albert,
how can we do this?
Speaker 2 (23:01):
Albert?
Speaker 7 (23:04):
I can't. I couldn't make any of that out.
Speaker 4 (23:05):
Guys.
Speaker 3 (23:06):
Oh gosh, Lee, you gotta you got to reconnect Lee.
Speaker 1 (23:10):
Reconnect with them.
Speaker 2 (23:10):
I'll tell you, man, I'm sick of this craft.
Speaker 4 (23:12):
Lee.
Speaker 2 (23:13):
You need to get it together, all right?
Speaker 4 (23:15):
Yeah, first, first the computer doing Lee.
Speaker 1 (23:19):
First the computers.
Speaker 2 (23:20):
Now I think now we know that you know the
phone issues we've had with Albert Breer for going on
four years, and yeah it's Lee. That's nothing to do
with Albert, and it's Lee. Like I'm sick of this.
Enough's enough around here.
Speaker 1 (23:35):
Lee's really become a sympathetic figure. I would say, Chadur
and Lee are like the exact exact same spot. Right, Yeah,
we've really built up to become a sympathetic figure. I
would say, should do is actually performing better? Better?
Speaker 4 (23:48):
Though?
Speaker 2 (23:49):
So what Albert Brear is back with us here? Ab
is that a little better?
Speaker 7 (23:55):
Nope, gets a little strategy, but we'll see what we can.
Speaker 3 (23:58):
Do, Okay, a little scratchy, all right, So I'll be
all right, all right, there we go.
Speaker 2 (24:04):
We'll keep the we'll keep the question short. Uh. Thoughts
on Michael Parsons go.
Speaker 7 (24:11):
Yeah, I think that one, Like you know, it's it
does feel like it's gotten a little personal. And you know,
I I've said to you guys before, like Zack Martin
twenty thirty, Ceedee Lamb and Dak Prescott last year, the
pacing of the negotiations isn't all that different, you know.
(24:34):
I I think it's almost like Jerry is saying that
these guys like you either take my offer earlier in
the off season or I'll see at the end of
the summer. And is there a publicity bump that he
gets from being in the news of these things? Like
I again, like I can't like really rule out that
being a factor. The one difference I would say between
(24:57):
Mike and those other guys is those other three are
wildly popular guys A cowboys want room, and I don't
know that it's the same with Micah. So is that
one Does that make it a little bit different? You know,
I'm not sure. I don't know what's going to fix
this because I do think, you know, another difference here
(25:18):
would be I think Mike is a really smart guy
who I think is the type of guy who's willing
to stand on principle. So I think Jerry will try
to throw money at the problem as we get closer
to the opener and what is it going to take?
What amount of money is it going to take to
(25:39):
solve the problem. And if Micah doesn't like the totalists
from in front of them, is he going to be
telled to say, yeah, that's enough or is he going
to continue to stand on principle. I think he's the
type of guy. Vary might know more about this than me,
but I think he is the type of guy who
might stand on principal and might be willing to miss games.
(26:00):
So I mean, I think it probably is done before
the opener, but I I can't say that with any certainty.
Speaker 4 (26:05):
Mm.
Speaker 3 (26:06):
Yeah, you know, we'll see how it all plays out.
I don't even want to put any opinions on it,
to be honest in terms of that.
Speaker 4 (26:13):
But let let me you you were on the DP Show.
Speaker 3 (26:17):
And you were reacting to what Eric Dickerson had to
say with the claims that NFL the NFL told teams
not to draft you Door Sanders, do you do you
have any insight on maybe who the possible source was
that gave Eric Dickerson that that uh that information and
what was you know, I just reiterate what your reaction
(26:38):
was to that report coming out.
Speaker 7 (26:42):
Yeah, I don't. I mean, I like, I hate sources
to begin with, but I and I honestly, I'm I'm
dead honest I say, I have no idea where that's
coming from. But I I it just doesn't add up
to me, you know, Like I I know that there
have been some things in the past, you know, where
(27:04):
teams have been compelled to the selectric players sign a
player to help the league out with something that's definitely
happened before. A situation like this, like doing this to
a player who has a dad that's a legend of
the game, who is such an important piece of history
of the game, just makes no sense to me. And
(27:27):
it's not like anything should do or did, Like if
this is a guy who had some like awful off
the field stuff like on his record, like I can
maybe see like the league saying like, hey, like we
don't we want to set an example with that, But
that's not what this is, you know what I mean,
Like this is more you know, he's got a high
profile obviously because of his dad. He played well in
(27:49):
college and like he didn't do great in some of
his free draft meetings. You know, like that to me
does not rise to the level of you know, like
the league's trying to step in the way of any
of it. And oh, by the way, like I mean,
I would argue like the Chador story line was great
(28:10):
for the Alpha spring. I mean it got everybody talking
about the draft. And I think this is a relatively
non best script year. I mean, look, how look look
how quiet things are around Camp Mooreton even now. Who
is a relatively non best stript year when it came
to the draft class and Chador gave the draft class
from juice and I think they set some records for
(28:31):
Day three viewership, Which why do you think that was?
You know, it just doesn't add up the o bar,
Like I I just see it as very unlikely. Maybe
I'm wrong, but I just see it as very unlikely.
Speaker 1 (28:45):
Albert, As we head into the other of this final
week of preseason games, and staying on the topic of
Shador and just the quarterback situation there, who stays who goes?
Like do you think they end up keeping four in
the active roster.
Speaker 7 (29:00):
I think they're gonna keep pour Brady, you know, I
think they're gonna go forward with. But Joe is a starter,
and if he's healthy, Kenny is the backup unless there's
some sort of trademarkt for Kenny Ticket, and then the
other two guys have probably started gaming inactive. I think
they would probably feel more comfortable putting Dylan Gabriel into
(29:22):
a game now. So if Anny Ticket weren't ready from
an injury standpoint for week one, maybe they dressed deal
in Gabriel. And and I think like part of this is,
look like there's a lot of proud veterans than that roster,
and you have to give him millions a fighting chance
earlier in the year. The first six games in that
schedule a brutal And I don't know how you can
(29:46):
look guys like Miles Garrett and Denzel Ward in the
face if you just throwing the year overboard in the
name of quarterback development, after the year they went through
last year, after everything they've gone through that there's awards,
It just would seem to me to be a really
fast way to lose your locker room. If you're Tevis
and Fansy. So you know, I think it's clear to
(30:09):
the veterans there that Joe Blacker is going to give
them the best chance now. And you know, you see
how the first six games go, and you see where
the season is at the midway point, and uh, you know,
obviously if you're like two and seven or three and
eight or whatever down the line and the dynamic changes
and to get everybody at that point understands that you
got to get a better look at different marksier roster
(30:30):
if we're going to quarterback spot. So I think for
right now, like they have to get the veterans on
on their teams the best fighting chance to perform and
as a team and individually through a really difficult schedule
at Joe Black'll get the best chance to do that.
Speaker 2 (30:46):
Albert Brier joining us here on Fox Sports Radio, AB
team that you saw up close in training camp that
you changed your mind on the most either good or bad.
Speaker 7 (30:59):
You know, I think camp it just goes interesting and
that I think they're a little further away than I
thought they were. You know, I have a lot of
trust with people there, like the front office and coaches,
but just kind of like seeing up both like the
idea that five or six rookies are up by huge
roles on defense, the injury situation a receiver. I just
(31:22):
I think we need to start to put the whole
thing together there. It's like, even with a soft schedule,
could be kind of bumpy early for them, So, you know,
I I don't know. I thought, like looking at done
like baby, there's like a little bit more of a
there's gonna be a little bit more building that it's
(31:42):
gonna take where you know, they're a good team at
the end of the year, But is that gonna be
enough to get them in the playoffs? I don't know,
you know. And I think on the flip side, I
thought Atlanta, like Atlanta is really interesting to me because
I I walked like talking to be there about Michael
Pennick Cherry with Matthew Stafford cops. You're hearing how much
(32:05):
progress he's made and like hearing it not just from
the offensive guys, but to the defensive guys as well.
I can't believe this vision. I can't believe how well
he sees the field. I can't believe that what he
process is it. And then you hear some stories from
the end of last year about something he was doing
that he would never notice if you didn't talk to
(32:25):
people there like getting to the stiff guy in his progression.
But he don't see very often period, and there are
two examples of it, like late in the year last year.
I think if Atlanta can be I don't know, the middle
of the pack, I'd bev if those are young guys
they drafted to him up the cast resting place is
(32:46):
pretty good. I could see Atlanta dam playoff.
Speaker 2 (32:50):
Team AB always appreciate it, Travel safe. We'll do it
again next week. We've got actual football, the college race
coming up this weekend, so the the good time is here,
so we appreciate you and we'll do it again soon.
Speaker 7 (33:06):
Yeah. I actually just hit me that Brady actually sounds
like one of the adults and Charlie Brown today. Oh wow,
that was that's kind of what he sounds like.
Speaker 1 (33:17):
Parting, parting bit is that is that where we're setting
up for us? Off on me. Keep keep putting out
that great content about your morning jog and workout as
you head to the flight and then take a picture
of your gate. That was just riveting stuff out riveting.
Speaker 7 (33:32):
Sorry, dude, I can't make that you.
Speaker 2 (33:34):
I understand, I understand, Amy will do it again next week.
Speaker 7 (33:40):
All right, thanks guys.
Speaker 2 (33:42):
There is Albert Breer with us here on Fire.
Speaker 1 (33:46):
Uh I got the Fiery White lepricatted me.

Speaker 10 (35:01):
Will's decision making time?
Speaker 11 (35:02):
And I think, I uh, I think I should have
pulled the trigger a little earlier. I was looking at
flights to Vegas. If I had pulled the trigger earlier,
this week could have been ninety bucks, could have been
as low as thirty five if I really jumped on
it earlier to go meet up with.
Speaker 10 (35:16):
Larena, Coopan, the ben malor Militia. Now it's up to two.
Speaker 4 (35:19):
We didn't have to put all those other names in there, Lee.
Speaker 3 (35:22):
We we get the deal for the listeners, you know,
we get we get the picture.
Speaker 4 (35:27):
What do you mean, Oh, I mean you know what
I mean?
Speaker 3 (35:30):
This is I mean, this is the most interesting unfolding
and developing of a you know, it's like a TV show.
Speaker 4 (35:40):
You know.
Speaker 2 (35:41):
He he Lee slipped up earlier and called it La Vegas.
Speaker 4 (35:44):
Oh no, gosh, I don't know.
Speaker 3 (35:47):
I just thought it was interesting that Lee said the
other day he was out on going to Vegas, like yeah,
I'm not going to Vegas.
Speaker 4 (35:54):
Win all along.
Speaker 3 (35:55):
I think jonas you and I and you know, speaking
on it, I think we knew he.
Speaker 4 (35:59):
Was going all along. But yeah, you know, so here
we go.
Speaker 3 (36:02):
Now he's looking for a flight into Vegas on Friday
to go hang out with Lorena.
Speaker 2 (36:09):
So go.
Speaker 11 (36:10):
It was a play by year situation. But no, of
course it was. Nothing good happens in Vegas. So I
think I'm just gonna.
Speaker 2 (36:16):
I think that you changed the narrative on that. You're
full of crap. If that flight was still ninety bucks,
you'd be going.
Speaker 11 (36:22):
If it was thirty five bucks, which I see other flights,
If I if it was going in a few days,
I'd grab a flight for thirty five.
Speaker 2 (36:27):
What about is that? What about Spirit? What's Spirit charging?
Speaker 10 (36:30):
Spirit is up to two hundred dollars?
Speaker 1 (36:32):
Yeah, whoa, whoa?
Speaker 2 (36:34):
Hey, you know why because they've got a good reputation
now because that pilot flew through that hurricane, straight through it,
straight through it. The spirit the spirit pilot was like,
oh is that a is that a cat for? I
got this? Yeah, got there safely on time.
Speaker 1 (36:49):
Hey, Lee, let me ask you this, when you go
about budgeting for a flight, like this. Do you look
at it and you say to yourself, well, that's probably
a lot less vodka jin and be or I can
buy for myself. So is that typical how you look
at it?
Speaker 11 (37:02):
Uh, for certain trips, yes, but for Vegas, you know,
you get free drinks for gambling, So I look at
it as more of like just get there a couple
of hands at the at the craft take.
Speaker 1 (37:11):
You don't have the money to afford the flight, how
can you gamble?
Speaker 10 (37:14):
Well, that's the thing like if.
Speaker 4 (37:14):
You go sit at one of them penny you know,
you go sit, you know, you pull a couple.
Speaker 3 (37:19):
Yeah, and then and then you get free drinks there,
so you know it'll come around that he's just.
Speaker 4 (37:24):
Got to make it there.
Speaker 3 (37:25):
And then there's also the idea that he's got a
sponsor that's they're waiting for.
Speaker 10 (37:29):
Yeah, Loraina treats me pretty. She she put me up
and uh, I bet she does.
Speaker 2 (37:34):
Take me out.
Speaker 10 (37:34):
Yeh'd be nice. Mallard Militia, they take care of me.
Speaker 3 (37:40):
Why do you keep offsetting by saying Ben Maller and
al militia and and and Coop like stop doing that,
And that's how you're not going for that that's not
why you're going.
Speaker 11 (37:50):
That's the only reason I would go is because they'd
be you know, because they be what, you know what,
flipping the bill because Loraina is they can carry your
your lodging and you're eating and.
Speaker 2 (38:03):
You're not going there to hang out with the unwashed.
Go I go there to hang out Lorena.
Speaker 10 (38:07):
I go promote the show.
Speaker 4 (38:08):
You know this, dude is our show?
Speaker 1 (38:12):
Oh you do?
Speaker 2 (38:13):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (38:13):
I go.
Speaker 11 (38:16):
I talked everything about the show to promote our note show.
Speaker 10 (38:18):
Everyone won who listens to bed listens to us?
Speaker 3 (38:21):
Yeah, because Lee goes there and promotes our show.
Speaker 1 (38:27):
Hey, Lee, I appreciate it. Now you're doing God's work man.
Speaker 4 (38:29):
Yeah, that's easy.
Speaker 3 (38:31):
I mean, I believe in show chemistry. But you guys
are taking this a little bit too far. I mean,
I I'm just saying, I go there to promote our show. Hey,
you're gonna be drunk hanging out with Lorena pool sat
slipping suntan, loaching on her shoulders.
Speaker 4 (38:50):
All right, go it? What else? Well?
Speaker 11 (38:51):
I do also have to budget every other day for
my two dollars Powerball ticket, which is up to seven
hundred million dollars dollar power molt.
Speaker 2 (38:58):
Yeah, what's that draw? Tonight, but leave.
Speaker 10 (39:00):
That's correct, Friday nights. Yeah, so I missed out on
the on Wednesday.
Speaker 1 (39:04):
Watch watch Lee win this thing, and he'll leave our
show and I'll just talk about it from There's no
way you'd wake up and do this show every day.
Speaker 11 (39:13):
I just I wouldn't sleep ever again, I would just
stay up all the time.
Speaker 1 (39:17):
Oh yeah, you would have to.
Speaker 3 (39:19):
How how long do you guys think it would take
for Lee to spend it all hour and a half.
Speaker 1 (39:25):
It's like Brewster's millions. Yeah, give twenty four hours.
Speaker 10 (39:28):
Now, I'm not creative enough to know how to spend
that much money.
Speaker 3 (39:31):
Is gonna for some reason. I disagree with that. I
disagree with that. And it might not be you by yourself.
It's going to be taught and and the cousin that
sleeps and snores. It looks like zz top is going
to be everybody else.
Speaker 1 (39:44):
Lee grabs some of the belvidere. He's like, no, no, no, no,
give me back to Evan Williams.
Speaker 11 (39:49):
Win for life. He's gonna be a great safety for
the Packers this year.
Speaker 2 (39:53):
By the way, hey, are you going to get in?
Speaker 4 (39:55):
It's going to buy the Packers if he wins that's.
Speaker 2 (39:57):
Why you go packers Jersey Lee, He's saying it. Are
you gonna get a Evan Williams power?
Speaker 10 (40:02):
My jerseys keep on getting torn up, So no more
jerseys for me.
Speaker 2 (40:04):
Man torn up or cut up?
Speaker 4 (40:05):
Cut up?
Speaker 10 (40:06):
Who's oh jeez, my last one? My Jordan loved that
cut up.
Speaker 3 (40:10):
Well, there's gonna be something new that gets tore up
and cut up this weekend.
Speaker 4 (40:15):
That is for sirch Wow. Wow, he gonna be in Vegas.
Speaker 3 (40:22):
He gonna show up. Everything will be cut up and
on the curve. Goodbye, have a great weekend.
