What do you mean it's like getting cold? This is
like hot music. This is like I'll be at the
fall weather.

Speaker 5 (00:58):
No, it's fall weather. It's great.

Speaker 4 (01:00):
Nah, I ain't like here. I'm gonna be sating. I'm
gonna be sitting in the pool later on today listening
to this song.

Speaker 5 (01:08):
Oh, I wouldn't trade fall for any weather. Yeah, I
love fall.

Speaker 4 (01:12):
I would I've traded it. In fact, it's gonna be cold.

Speaker 5 (01:16):
Well, that's why they don't claim me in Pittsburgh anymore.
That's what I heard.

Speaker 2 (01:19):
Damn.

Speaker 4 (01:19):
I don't have any hard feelings towards that. I know.
I go, I go to the Burgh. Maybe. I mean,
let's see, we've had two funerals this year. I've gone
to Pittsburgh two times, so there you go. I generally make.

Speaker 6 (01:35):
It in We're sorry, We're sorry to hear that. But
it told me that you're you're dead to them now
because you moved on. No, I wouldn't say I've done
too much to be dead to them.

Speaker 5 (01:42):
I mean, I mean, I'm kidding.

Speaker 4 (01:44):
Let's be clear here. Now, I've done a little bit
too much for Pittsburgh to be dead to them. But god,
you know, I do only go back when there's a
funeral though, yeah, kind of sense. I would really I
would really like to get back and see my high
school team play. See see my cousins. One of the
top receivers in the country is it is my great cousin,

(02:04):
the North Hills Hammer. You got to get back. It
would be nice to get back to North Hills. I'm
not the hammer, but no, I get it. It's stupid anyway,
it's probably cold there, and I don't want to deal
with it.

Speaker 2 (02:17):
It's gonna be.

Speaker 4 (02:18):
Really cold out here today. What's really cold out here today?
Seventy three? Yeah, exactly, I'll deal with that really cold.

y'all changed it. Yeah, No, our.

Speaker 5 (02:53):
Game crew is going there, will be in Iowa City.

Speaker 4 (02:55):
Oh, your gang crew is going to be there. Okay, yep, okay,
got it all right, Iowa City. Yeah, for a bigger game. Obviously.
I saw you were with your brother in law. Howk
looks yoked up, brouh like, yeah, yeah, it looks good.

Speaker 5 (03:12):
We stay we stay strapped.

Speaker 4 (03:13):
Man. Yeah, you ain't got to get ready. If you
stay ready, you know that's right. I was having that
conversation with with my kids. I was like, man, you
think about the Quinn family bro like that that it's
it's like all all guys, like the whole family, even
on the girl's side of it. It's like all guys

(03:34):
like everybody is a dude, and they're like really realized,
like yeah, so so just stay focused, do what you
need to do. We're gonna build like the Quinn family.
I'm gonna be Chopper in a minute. I'm gonna call
everybody Chops. Everybody.

Speaker 5 (03:49):
I gotta check it on Chopper.

Speaker 6 (03:50):
I'm gonna baby food to make sure he's okay swallowing.

Speaker 4 (03:54):
Did you really yep?

Speaker 5 (03:55):
Yep. He didn't find that funny, though he did not
it was.

Speaker 6 (03:59):
It peace is always cheapest.

Speaker 5 (04:03):
It was whatever his cheapest.

Speaker 6 (04:05):
It's so disgusting, baby fit. It's terrible. But it's like
he got the message. He did not think it was funny.

Speaker 4 (04:11):
Because he definitely was choking on that cone.

Speaker 3 (04:17):
Let me tell you something for people that went a
little peak behind the scenes, because because you see him
and you see him up there on Big New and Kickoff,
and you see he's very uh, you know, he's very
put together and very.

Speaker 2 (04:27):
Very buttoned up.

Speaker 3 (04:28):
Guy Brady quinns an ahole okay, And if there's any
sort of an issue, a medical issue, brother every time.
So he'll send a paletat of baby food to his
dad because his dad almost choked on an ice cream cone.
There was reportedly somebody who had a medical issue that
may or may not have received a blow up doll

(04:50):
as sort of a feel better gift. I myself, Yeah,
somebody to sign for it. I got to send you
a bag of you did a bag of gummy cranks
that was uncalled.

Speaker 4 (05:05):
For gummy franks.

Speaker 2 (05:09):
I mean, by the way, delicious. I'll say that.

Speaker 4 (05:12):
You know, I knew all I needed to know in
Columbus last year when his homeboy came out and showed
and showed screenshots or somebody was showing screenshots of what
the business he had just taken care of the details
of it were kind of funny. Pat, I mean, he
was so he was so proud. I was like, y'all

(05:35):
are jacked up, man, y'all all together. I have not
seen it, but y'all are jacked up. There's some wild
messed up stuff that go on when y'all are all together.
I don't know how y'all are allowed to do. It
shouldn't be legal.

Speaker 3 (05:49):
One of my favorite phone calls was a call I
got from Brady the meat Wagon and Pat on their
way back to try and catch another flight because their flight.
I can't anseled during a golf outing.

Speaker 2 (06:02):
Oh god, that was that was awful? That was awful? Yeah,
that was That was a rough one. All right.

Speaker 3 (06:11):
So we do have the NFL trade deadline coming up
tomorrow four pm Eastern time, and what do you know,
the Philadelphia Eagles are not waiting around. The Eagles have
just traded for Dolphins edge rusher Jalen Phillips in exchange
for a twenty twenty six third round pick. According to
Ian rapp Befort, the Dolphins are paying a portion of

(06:33):
phillips salary to facilitate the trade, taking on money for
a better pick. So, Philadelphia Eagles trade at.

Speaker 4 (06:40):
Four cornerback too? Didn't they right before? Right before the Phillips? Did?
I want to say? They didn't they get? Didn't they
go for a corner for coverage? Am I awful?

Speaker 1 (06:53):
On?

Speaker 2 (06:53):
That might have been a couple of days.

Speaker 4 (06:56):
You're Alexander right, Yeah, Yeah, they're trying. They're like quietly
just trying to like bulke up their defense.

Speaker 3 (07:03):
It's Howie Roseman, It's John Lynch. It just feels like
the same teams every year are the most aggressive trying
to make moves, especially during the deadline, that.

Speaker 4 (07:15):
Are going to make their team better. Yeah, like that's
the thing, Like they're trying to make specific direct impact
on their current roster. Where my feet are right here
right now. We need coverage and we want to have
a better pass rush. Like, there you go, You've addressed it.

Speaker 5 (07:33):
I think.

Speaker 6 (07:34):
I think what's really interesting about it, though, is Jalen
Phillips is playing under I believe it's a fifthyear option,
under the club option, and so what they're doing is,
you know, they're trading way what you know, a third
round pick is not insignificant, and so obviously they see
value in Jalen Phillips, maybe for the future, you know,

(07:56):
not just a guy that will play out this year.
But they could potentially tag, right, they could, you know,
they could you know, signed to an extension. I think
he'd probably end up putting the tag designation on him
then signing them to that extension. But the general point
is they build through guys who are usually on their
rookie deal if they can get them in that one

(08:18):
or two year space where they've got something to prove, right,
I mean, Jalen Phillips wants to get paid. He wants
to get that big contract, so they get him alongside
of a defensive front who's got some other studs too,
and he's incentivized and motivated and he's in a place
that can go win a super Bowl, which is obviously
a contrast from where he was just at now. Granted,

(08:39):
he's had some injury issues, so there's that concern, but
when he's on, he could be a hell of the player.

Speaker 5 (08:44):
And I think what's most interesting is.

Speaker 6 (08:46):
They have built so much depth on this defensive side
of the ball that they stay fresh, they don't have
to play the entire game, and if they do suffer
an injury, they've got the depth to be able to
overcome that, and they just keep throwing pass rusher after after.
You know, pass rusher and edge rusher and defensive player
at you, and it's it's been successful.

Speaker 5 (09:07):
So I love that. It feels like.

Speaker 6 (09:09):
They're always in a win now mode. You know, they're
not like, oh, we gotta let's build for the future.
Like no, they're always trying to win now. And you
can say that's because it hurts. You can say that's
because of just where the roster's at, the cap situation,
whatever the case may be. But for a team that
just wanted he's trying to repeat. I love how aggressive
Howie Roseman is. He's the best in the NFL at
building a roster.

Speaker 4 (09:28):
And it's not it's not coincidental that they went after
you know who they went after at for for the
for the Dolphins, I mean, Fangio was the defensive coordinator there.
He's familiar, he's familiar with Phillips and and again he's
coming out of his his rookie contract. So it goes

(09:51):
back to the earlier conversation that that we were having, like, Okay,
he may want to get paid, but it's going to
have to make sense in order for that to take
place in Philadelphia, and you get his services for the
remainder of his rookie contract this season to see what
that looks like. So me, it's a very intentional move.

(10:13):
Super educated. They probably you know, obviously have an idea
what they think or believe they can get out of
it and not having too much fear about, you know,
some of the injuries that he has sustained just based
off of the familiarity of their defensive coordinator knowing him
when he was in Miami.

Speaker 3 (10:31):
Like, if you're an Eagles fan, if you're a fan
of any team in sports, this is what you want,
Like you want to know that, Okay, we're making moves,
we're going to get aggressive, We're going to try and
add pieces, like we're not going to wait around like
whatever this third round pick is. Which actually, if it
turns out that he's just a rental that it's going
to be, they're going to get a compensatory pick in return.

Speaker 2 (10:53):
Like I hope.

Speaker 3 (10:54):
Eagles fans understand this is not normal, Like this is
not normal operating procedures for a lot of teams around
the NFL. A lot of teams don't do this. He
had Phillies always the one making moves. Howie Roseman's always
the one out there and trying to get aggressive and
trying to make moves. So it's the first, the first
big name UH to fly off. There's also some speculation

(11:18):
that maybe Jalen Waddle could.

Speaker 2 (11:20):
Be on his way out of Miami that you know,
I don't get.

Speaker 6 (11:23):
The fire sale for a team that like, how do
you make that attractive for the next head coach?

Speaker 5 (11:27):
How do you make that attractive for the next general manager?
You know?

Speaker 6 (11:31):
I mean maybe you say, Okay, we got a clean
slate and it allows them to say, well, look what
I built. But is that owner going to endure whatever
lack of success you have for the foreseeable future to
allow you to get to that point. I just I
don't see the point getting rid of a good player
like Waddle. I don't get it. And they're not moving
on from Tua. You know, they're strapped to that contract,

(11:54):
So how's he gonna be any good if he's got
no one to throw to?

Speaker 4 (11:57):
How do you keep moving forward with two?

Speaker 7 (12:00):
Like?

Speaker 4 (12:01):
That is crazy that you're locked into it because of
the contract. That's crazy, Like you got to move on.
This has got to be the moment in time, especially
if you are thinking fire sell, if you are thinking rebuild,
Why are you going to start a rebuild with a
guy that you're not going to be well? Was a

(12:24):
part of the build out before the rebuild? Before like,
why would you transition a retread into the new rebuild.
Who would trade for him? I don't think anybody would
trade for him. I mean, the problem is they're stuck.
They're stuck like Chuck, nobody's going trade forward to Shaun Watson.

(12:47):
Nobody's going trade forward to it. Nobody's going to do it.
There's no to me, there's no real trade value with
Tua at this point. So you're stuck with him. But
with that being said, because you're stuck with him, you
got to use him next year. Like that's that's how
this works. Yeah, that's crazy, man. Yeah, essentially that's crazy.

Speaker 6 (13:08):
They it'd be a ninety nine Uh well yeah, it
ninety nine million nine nine, Yeah, did cap.

Speaker 4 (13:16):
Yeah, it's crazy man, that's that. That is crazy that
these types of contracts are holding teams hostage. It's crazy.

Speaker 5 (13:27):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (13:27):
But but but for the business of players, it's good.
Like this is the sort of thing that players have
been asking for forever. I mean image, if these are
guaranteed contracts, he's contracted at twenty twenty eight, they'd be
on the hook for the whole damn thing, and it
would it would force them to have to build around
it and force them to have to actually, you know,
give him the opportunity to continue to build and grow

(13:50):
as a player.

Speaker 5 (13:52):
So you know, there's two sides of it.

Speaker 6 (13:54):
I mean, obviously he hasn't been able to play well
consistently enough to appiece fans. But I also, I mean,
what are you looking at on the Dolphins right now
that make you optimistic about their chances defensively stopping someone.
They've been banged up running back, they don't have a
consistent run game.

Speaker 4 (14:11):
Robinson makes me excited about their defense. Move they got
to build the defense around Chop.

Speaker 5 (14:16):
Okay, we'll build around Chop then, but that's gonna take
some time off me.

Speaker 4 (14:22):
The Dolphins are not in a good situation. I mean,
they're not in a good position. They like, you got
to literally start from scratch, and you got to start
from scratch with the idea of what is your culture,
what is the personality and the identity of what you're
going to build out.

Speaker 3 (14:41):
The other thing that the firing of Chris Greer, which
took place on Friday. The other thing that's that I
don't understand about what their expectations are is so now
everybody on that team knows that Mike McDaniel is going
to be fired at the end of the year, like.

Speaker 2 (14:57):
They know this.

Speaker 3 (14:59):
You just fired the so it's almost like you it
was a half measure, like instead of just cleaning house,
you fired one, but you left the other.

Speaker 4 (15:07):
Doesn't vindicate floor As. Does this vindicate him in terms
of how he was viewing things, how he was trying
to handle things or take it in the direction he
was trying to take.

Speaker 6 (15:18):
His claim was that they tried to tank, right, Yeah,
looks like they're doing that this year.

Speaker 2 (15:24):
Damn well.

Speaker 3 (15:26):
It was also his handling of Tua.

Speaker 4 (15:29):
But he like, he didn't like Tua and he wanted
to and this was before they gave him the big contract,
right Yeah. He was putting him on and off bench.
He was benching him here and there.

Speaker 2 (15:42):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (15:44):
I'm just saying, man, sometimes you see what somebody's going
to be, even though there is the potential of what
they could be. I just wonder if this vindicate like
and in some small way, shape or fashion, it vindicates
floor As, Like even though I know he's it was tanking,
But I'm saying in terms of just looking at him

(16:04):
and his body of work as a coach, or the
things that he was coming under fire for, and one
of them was the way he you know, was perceived
to be handling Tua. Their interactions was was being highlighted,
The amount of times Tua would get pulled out was
being highlighted, the conversations about what Mike McDaniel would represent

(16:25):
to Tua, and that was the reason why he got hired,
which was a totally different contrast to what you were
getting from from Floras. And now look at where Mike,
Mike McDaniel finds himself today with this team. It's not
in a great place.

Speaker 5 (16:45):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (16:46):
So, and it wasn't that long of a run of
success with him working with Tua. So now it comes
back to me. It makes me feel like the GM
screwed this team for a decade and you weren't able
to really put together the type of team where maybe
the personality would have been being tooth chippers out there
versus just being you know, very laid back type of

(17:10):
methodical and very cerebral approaching how we do things with
our Lululemon and all that stuff. Like maybe maybe it's just,
you know, maybe that didn't work.

Speaker 6 (17:23):
Didn't to believe we're not We haven't talked about the
World Series yet, I know, for as good of a
game seven as that was really just has pushed it
all the way to the point now where we don't
even talk about it.

Speaker 3 (17:32):
We have talked about we haven't gotten you know, I
wanted to wait until the the La hour, as they say,
because our friends are listening on the Blowtorch Am five
to seventy LA Sports. They got a parade later on today,
and Uh.

Speaker 4 (17:43):
What a hell of a comeback, man, I had. I
had the Blue Jays winning it.

Speaker 3 (17:48):
I'm so glad I didn't have a rooting interest because
I can't imagine what either fan base was going.

Speaker 4 (17:54):
Well, if you're a Blue Jays fan and you're at home,
you had all them innings to be excited, pumped up, thrilled, jovial,
you name it. There was probably somebody that was celebrating
so hard that they were hitting towards they were about
to cruise towards a World Series that they they're probably

(18:17):
they were too drunk to realize that their team lost.
There was probably multiple people that was so happy about
the Blue Jays winning the World Series that they weren't
even coherent enough to realize that they let the game
get away.

Speaker 3 (18:32):
You know, I felt bad for so Don Mattingly, who
was the manager of the Dodgers before they moved on
and got to Dave Roberts, and you've seen what's happened.
Since Don Mattingly has been in baseball for almost forty years,
he had never been to a World Series. He's on
the Blue Jays coaching staff, and all those guys are,

(18:52):
you know, pulling for him because he's such a legend
in the sport.

Speaker 4 (18:55):
And then to.

Speaker 3 (18:58):
See it end the way that it did, that's one
of those do not watch anything for at least a week,
avoid any conversation about it, avoid any talk about it.
And meanwhile, Dodger fans are looking around going Miguel Rojas,
Miguel E. Fing Rojas, who wasn't even in the lineup
to start the series. Just all the little tweaks that

(19:20):
Dave Roberts made, and that play at the plate where
they throw home Even, what do you guys think, Okay,
if he doesn't slide, he's safe in the Blue Jays
win the World Series.

Speaker 5 (19:32):
Really these maintains a speed.

Speaker 2 (19:34):
I think it slowed him down just enough.

Speaker 6 (19:38):
I was looking at it from the standpoint of like
I don't even know if he was out. Like I
think when you go back and look at the timing
of the catcher's foot back on the home and it's
like it's really tough to tell, Like to your point,
if he runs, there's probably not any dust dirt to
like make it hard to tell even on replay, like

(19:58):
you might just flat out see his foot hit the
play's and he's on.

Speaker 5 (20:01):
Yeah, there was like it just felt like it was hard.

Speaker 6 (20:04):
To tell with the way the slide and the foot
kind of stepping back on it. But I mean that
that you know, they catching the outfield too, the whole thing.

Speaker 5 (20:12):
It was just it was awesome.

Speaker 6 (20:14):
I haven't seen a baseball game that I can recall
and enjoyed as much as that in a long time.

Speaker 5 (20:19):
So that was that was awesome.

Speaker 2 (20:20):
One of the best.

Speaker 5 (20:21):
The Dodgers too, man.

Speaker 3 (20:22):
Yeah, one of the better sporting events I think, I
think anybody's ever seen. And so yeah, it's Parade Day
and I think it starts around ten or eleven AM.
And last year the Dodger players got absolutely slaughtered and
today is going to be no different. So congrats, and
they'll they'll have you covered on the blowtorch A five

(20:42):

(22:05):
Get them on AX if you want that smoke at
Prisco CBS Pete, good morning.

Speaker 7 (22:10):
What's up guys?

Speaker 4 (22:11):
How are you good morning? Pete?

Speaker 2 (22:12):
Good Pete.

Speaker 3 (22:14):
The Bengals defense have at it.

Speaker 7 (22:18):
Forw up on your shoes. That's about what it is,
and it's discussed. You know what's amazing about it too?
You change coordinators. That gets worse. I mean, what's that
tell you? That tells you the players aren't very good
and the effort isn't great. They miss so many tackles.
It's unbelievable and clearly okay, even if they tackle Lovelin

(22:40):
in that situation, they probably make the field goal't beat
them anyways, but they're awful. That's by the way. That's
almost eleven hundred yards in the last two weeks to
the Jets and the Bears. I mean, that's just terrible defense.

Speaker 5 (22:52):
Geez pete.

Speaker 6 (22:53):
When you look at what the Colts are doing defensively,
maybe this past week not a great example of that,
but on the season as a whole.

Speaker 5 (23:00):
Do you think they're watching that lou Anarroumo back.

Speaker 7 (23:04):
Brady. I don't think would matter who they are. They
could have you know, Bill Belichick Rex Ryan combination in
their prime and they're still not going to stop anybody.
It's players. I mean, it's effort and players. And I
mean you look at all the assets that they've used
on that defensive side of the ball too. By the way,
you know, I'm trying about draft picks the whole second day.
A lot of those guys in the secondary they drafted,

(23:25):
and they drafted them with the idea they're going to
become good, solid players, and they haven't. I mean, Geno
Stone shouldn't be on the field. I mean, he's not
a very good player. And and you know they battle.
It was drafted to be a good player, and here
they are two guys colliding at each other and letting
the guy go down the field for the game. When
he cuts down just it just bothers me. And I think,

(23:45):
you know, everybody's all over Chase Brown for kind of
calling them out, But I mean, if you're an offensive
player on that team, you have to be frustrated, There's
no question about it.

Speaker 4 (23:55):
What was your takeaway from that that Chiefs Bills game.

Speaker 7 (24:00):
I think Buffalo's defense is going to be better as
the season moves along. I think, you know, getting Hairston
back is enormous for them because, I mean, you get
your Debus White technically off the field, and that's big
because he can't run. Harston can run. I think that's
important for them when they play teams that can stretch
the field. I think getting both showed up in that game.
That's why you go get them. I hope like Hecki's

(24:22):
ready to do that in the postseason. I still think
they need to get guys back. I mean, there's still
a lot of guys injured on that defensive side of
the ball, But that was an impressive showing and they
limited the big play. In years past, the big play
has hurt them, and I think that was the most
important thing that came out of that game.

Speaker 3 (24:37):
Pete Prisco joining us here on Fox Sports Radio Senior
NFL columnis for CBS Sports. You can get him on
X at Prisco CBS. By the way, Pete, I just
didn't want to mention this on that Bengals game.

Speaker 2 (24:48):
You were right.

Speaker 3 (24:48):
I think Brady and LeVar o you an apology because
you told everybody that Colston Lovelin was the better pick
over Tyler Warren and it played out true.

Speaker 7 (24:57):
So well, I mean, they're going to end up gonna
end up right now, it's it's Tyler warm, but it's
gonna end up being really close. I mean, they're going
to be both really good players. Anybody who gave up
on Colston loved him was way off base. Remember he
was coming off an injury last year. And so I
think Loveland is going to be a big time player
in the passing game, and Warren might end up being

(25:18):
the better all round player. But I think more big
Lovely might end up giving you more big plays in
the passing game.

Speaker 6 (25:24):
Though, wouldn't the better overall player trump the guy who
gives you more in the passing game.

Speaker 7 (25:30):
Well, he's probably a better blocker, don't you think.

Speaker 6 (25:34):
Well, yeah, and he seems to be pretty darn good
at everything else. I mean, I'm just saying, like if
I said, hey, he's a better overall player.

Speaker 8 (25:39):
Wouldn't you be like, Okay, we gotta take we got
to take LeVar out of the equation.

Speaker 7 (25:45):
Linebacker or anybody else is gonna be the greatest thing
in the world, even though his programs And I mean,
you're gonna go tell me qualak now, you got to
look that one up.

Speaker 4 (26:04):
I mean, you would like you would like Kyle Brady.
You know you're Cayle Brady fans. That's a Jaguar.

Speaker 7 (26:10):
You know what. I used to say that Kyle Brady
had hosts for hands and he didn't like that.

Speaker 4 (26:15):
Well, that's not very nice, Pete.

Speaker 7 (26:17):
No, Kyle Brady. I'll be honest with you. Kyle Brady
might be one of the five nicest people that have
And a mule is a run blocker. I mean, I
mean he was just a great blocker. He just wasn't
a great sudden fast catcher. And you don't draft great
blockers who aren't sudden pass catchers. Where the Jets drafted
it pretty high.

Speaker 6 (26:38):
Uh, Pete, I want to ask you about tonight's Monday
night football game, Jacoby for seconds.

Speaker 5 (26:42):
To start again?

Speaker 6 (26:44):
Is this to you, like truly or specifically injury related
for Caler Murray or is there a sense that maybe
the Cardinals like Prissette starting it gives him a better chance?

Speaker 7 (26:54):
Is it a soft benching? Is that what you're asking me?
I mean, because that's what it sounds like, doesn't it.
It looks like it. But in any way shape or
for him? Is Jacoby Brissett better than Kyler Murray? No,
of course not, he's not. But is Kyler Murray worth
all that money that they're paying him to be just
a little bit better than jacobyst? I think that's the question,

(27:16):
isn't it? Is Kyler Murray that much better than Jacoby present?

Speaker 4 (27:21):
I don't have that answer?

Speaker 7 (27:23):
What would you?

Speaker 5 (27:24):
I mean, what would you?

Speaker 4 (27:25):
Guys say?

Speaker 5 (27:27):
He's pretty dynamic when he takes off and runs, man,
But is he.

Speaker 7 (27:32):
That much better?

Speaker 4 (27:37):
That much better?

Speaker 7 (27:39):
He's better, There's no doubt he's better. But he's he
that much better? And he's he worth paying him that
franchise money to be your just a little bit that
much better than than jacobyst? And he answered that question
is probably no right now.

Speaker 4 (27:53):
It's probably no.

Speaker 7 (27:55):
Right So probably so if you play him, what do
you if you're not playing him he's healthy, what are
you sending that what message is that that he's not
going to be our long term answer is that the
that's the that's the that's what they're saying with this
fall Benching. If he is healthy mhm. If he is healthy,
by the way, and you were him when you say
I'm healthy, why the hell aren't I playing?

Speaker 5 (28:17):
Well, haven't you not been a caller Murray fan for
a long time?

Speaker 4 (28:20):
Though?

Speaker 7 (28:22):
No, I'm I mean no, I like my quarterbacks to
stand in the pocket and they throws.

Speaker 4 (28:26):
I don't.

Speaker 7 (28:26):
I don't want my quarterbacks running around all the time.

Speaker 6 (28:28):
So no, Well, you've also you've made you taken shots
of us height too, from just our past working together.

Speaker 2 (28:35):
Is that your pet Well?

Speaker 7 (28:36):
Yeah, when he when he played, they gave out when
he played Bryce young and they beat him. This year,
they gave out a little tiny trophy for the winner.

Speaker 5 (28:45):
Pete said he want a wanted he said, he.

Speaker 6 (28:49):
Said that when he sits on the curve his feet dangling, Pete,
that's rude.

Speaker 7 (28:57):
Well, I can say this though, I'm tiny, so I
can say it. I mean I can. By the way,
I'd be looking up to both of them, in case
anybody's wondering. And as I get older, I'll probably look
it up for you further.

Speaker 3 (29:05):
Because I shrink so so, Pete, let me ask you this.
Then you mentioned the Kyler Murray criticism. What do we
do with your guy Trevor Lawrence because at some point.

Speaker 2 (29:19):
They are who they are, aren't they?

Speaker 3 (29:21):
And it just feels like this has gone on quite
a while and we've just not seen the next step
from him outside of a second half of a playoff
game against the Chargers.

Speaker 7 (29:31):
There's there is concern. I'm not going to sit here
and deny it, and and you definitely major concern, but
you're not basing out on yesterday. I mean one made
one band play and then he played pretty darn good
the rest of the game, so I and granted it
was against the Raiders, but you know, the stupid the
stupidity of some of his plays are amazing to me.
And not getting to play in and being in one

(29:54):
of those situations where you're the play clock's always running
down and he's looking around you have to call time out.
Seems be no feel at times for him. But you know, look,
is he like I always say, he's not great, He's
not awful. He just is And for that money, he
needs to be better than just his and they know it,
and they got to get him going. There's no question

(30:16):
about it. The problem is Hunter's hurt, Thomas is hurt now,
and Brenton Stranger is hurt. So your three top weapons
aren't there. At the end of that game when they
went down and got the game, when he touched down,
he was throwing to Austin Trammell, Tim Jones and Parker Washington.
That's who he's throwing to, and and Johnny Washington. War player.

(30:37):
But he should be a number three. He should be
a number three receiver. I do a number one receiver.

Speaker 4 (30:41):
I mean he's a pretty good receiver. I saw on
that team stream at PT Briscoe. He's a really good player,
that's all.

Speaker 7 (30:50):
He's a good ball player.

Speaker 10 (30:51):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (30:52):
I was going to say, pet, what do you have
any coaches right now that are high on your list
for hot seat can ten? There's like who who you
have on there? Like if they don't well mc.

Speaker 7 (31:04):
McDaniel's seed is like a flame thrower underneath it. You
should be But they're gonna let him coach out the season.

Speaker 4 (31:11):
I say, do you think he makes the season? I
don't think he makes it through the end of the year.
I think it gets so bad they just gotta let
him go.

Speaker 7 (31:21):
And but what's that solved, though, that's what I always.

Speaker 2 (31:23):
Ask I don't know.

Speaker 4 (31:24):
I would say it solves maybe morale. Maybe you give
the team an opportunity to have a morale boost by
having a different person, a different voice, you know, just
removing maybe what they have going on with him. I
don't really know what it solves, but I mean, obviously
it does happen.

Speaker 7 (31:43):
If it gets to the point where, like you have
a these like forty five to seven blow ups or something,
then okay, I'll give you that. But if they're competitive
in games, I don't think they fire him. I think
Zach Taylor seat's probably a little hot. I would think
that you get the questionnaires get you get the path
because your quarterback got hurt, and the answered that question
is probably no. Considering Joe Flacco two for four to

(32:05):
seventy yesterday, they still won and he changed coordinators, and
ultimately you keep changing coaches and it doesn't work. That
falls at the foot of you, and so I think
he's on the hot seat. I think Gable might be
back on it. I wouldn't make that change in the
large part because the quarterback situation needs to have some continuity.
But I could understand where he would be on it.

(32:26):
I think those are the guys you have to look
at right.

Speaker 5 (32:28):
Now, Pete.

Speaker 6 (32:29):
Have you ever seen a coach challenge a call and
it completely gets flipped in the first on him and
the end up losing out on a touchdown.

Speaker 7 (32:37):
It's amazing.

Speaker 5 (32:38):
I mean that, I don't know that I've ever seen
that in the NFL.

Speaker 7 (32:41):
Yeah, I mean it was amazing. By the way, back
to coaches, who who firing coaches during the season. How's
that worked out for the Titans? They've kind of been rejuvenated,
haven't they?

Speaker 4 (32:54):
They look real good, Pete Prisco. They look real real good.

Speaker 2 (32:58):
That being bad real good, Well they were.

Speaker 7 (33:01):
They were crappy before they fired him, they fire them,
and they're crappy after they fire them. So I mean,
it's just it doesn't do anything. It just doesn't. So
I sometimes unless you want to get ahead of the
process a little bit, But I don't know how that helps.
I just think it doesn't really change anything. And if
Miami Dolphins fired Mike mccandiel, what are they gonna put
in Anthony Weaver? I mean, who are they gonna put

(33:22):
in there? Who are they gonna make the coach? What?
What does he's done it before and have that work
out when he was it doesn't work, don't I just
let him play it out?

Speaker 4 (33:37):
Uh? He will throw Pete Prisco in there. Pete.

Speaker 2 (33:39):
Uh, it's time for before we let you go, it's
time for our favor.

Speaker 7 (33:42):
Second, who said they want me in there? Because you
know what I bring a little toughness. I stop the
damn music during practice and stop awarding guys jersey orange
takeing orange jerseys if they practice hard, and then they
could take the music the next day, you'll have that going.

Speaker 5 (33:59):
Well.

Speaker 7 (34:00):
I have eleven padded practices and on all eleven of them,
you're gonna hit people. That's what you're gonna do.

Speaker 4 (34:04):
You're going to break the rules and you're gonna get
fined and fired.

Speaker 7 (34:08):
No I'm not, I'm gonna I'm not gonna get I'm
not gonna break the rules. But when I'm padded practice,
you're gonna hit. Because I think the hitting and attack
would need to happen is this league has gotten so
soft when it comes to that. And I think you
see it on Sunday coming after.

Speaker 5 (34:20):
You pee pete.

Speaker 3 (34:21):
It's time for our favorite portion of the interview, which bet.

Speaker 2 (34:25):
Did you lose? But we're on the right side of yesterday.

Speaker 7 (34:28):
I had a bunch of them yesterday. Okay, I had
the Bengals one of my picks. These are my pick
and I and by the way, my picks horrible.

Speaker 5 (34:35):
You can't say the Bengals. They had no business being
in that thing.

Speaker 7 (34:39):
Well, at the end of the game, you're getting two
and a half, you think you're gonna win the game
on a field.

Speaker 5 (34:43):
Goal and then by two touchdowns.

Speaker 7 (34:45):
Okay, So then then the Bengals. Then there was what
was the other one? There was there were two more?
Oh where it was late? Oh, Jacksonville let up the
touchdown late? Okay, they were covering sotrans. That was a
no I was. I had the Falcons in that one,
so that was a good miss extra point. And then

(35:07):
who's the other one I had? Just there were three
of them that when you look at them and you go, okay,
that's those three slip and you're actually doing okay, So yeah,
so I'll take those.

Speaker 3 (35:17):
I'm trying to think what the other one would have been, Uh,
steal it now, Broncos Texans.

Speaker 7 (35:23):
There it is Broacos Texans. That was that should have
been a winner too.

Speaker 5 (35:27):
I should have been probably wasn't.

Speaker 4 (35:28):
Pal Well, Well, I had a couple of weeks straight
where I had they should have been winners, Pete, So
don't worry about it.

Speaker 7 (35:35):
By the way, as bad as I was this week,
Ward has is that my uh the guy I compete against,
like you used to compete against Brady. Yeah, I had
a worst week and I was terrible.

Speaker 4 (35:46):
Brady's doing pretty well.

Speaker 7 (35:47):
Man.

Speaker 4 (35:47):
I hate to say it, like at.

Speaker 6 (35:49):
Least you know, because I used to whoop that ass
every time we'd go against You know, you did not
you act like it was even close. We had to
change the rules for you just to make it entertaining.

Speaker 7 (36:00):
It was always close, and.

Speaker 5 (36:02):
It was not always close. It was nuts.

Speaker 7 (36:04):
It was always closed. And there were a couple of years,
there were a couple of years where I won.

Speaker 5 (36:09):
Buddy, you never won.

Speaker 4 (36:10):
One, buddy, never want buddy never won. Hey, hey, hey, buddy,
never one.

Speaker 5 (36:17):
Hey, Pal, you didn't win. Work to a bunch of us.

Speaker 7 (36:23):
Forget about it, forget about it. I won, but he.

Speaker 6 (36:28):
Can't PiZZ It's pizza type. That is, like I'm gonna
take my ball and go home because I can't win.
That's how Pete is.

Speaker 7 (36:34):
No, I'm not. I'm just like you. Never could say
you were wrong ever I was.

Speaker 5 (36:38):
Okay, I'll put it this way. I was.

Speaker 6 (36:41):
I was wrong about a number of games. But there
was no worse beat than the one I talked about earlier.
This earlier today, U v A getting a pick six
with twenty five seconds left to cover versus Cow. That
was a flipping all timer, like from midfield. Usually the
guy's catch days go down, runs it all the way back.

Speaker 7 (37:00):
Why did that was a bad Why did he run
it back?

Speaker 2 (37:03):
Because he had no idea?

Speaker 5 (37:04):
You got money on it. May maybe he's got funny
on it.

Speaker 7 (37:06):
Did you have one of your picks?

Speaker 6 (37:09):
I had cal plus five and a half. I thought
it'd be close. I thought you'd win, but I thought
it be close.

Speaker 7 (37:13):
Oh wow, what about somebody I was reading where somebody
said that the Florida game, the kid went down at
the one yard Yeah.

Speaker 3 (37:20):
Got herself, and yeah you should have if he would
have run in and they would have covered.

Speaker 2 (37:24):
But he made the smart play.

Speaker 4 (37:25):
You know, make a.

Speaker 7 (37:26):
Smart play, You make the smart play.

Speaker 2 (37:29):
Pete always appreciate it.

Speaker 3 (37:30):
You can get him on AX again at Prisco CBS
Senior NFL calumnists for a CBS Sports CBS.

Speaker 4 (37:36):
Get out of here. You have a good day.

Speaker 2 (37:38):
Risco will do to next week.

Speaker 7 (37:40):
I got one quick question, Why the hell is Penn
State a marquete game again this week?

Speaker 4 (37:44):
What the hell? It was just just pre pre uh man.

Speaker 5 (37:49):
They rate. There's lovers, there's haters, but people watch.

Speaker 3 (37:52):
Yeah, pre determined, Pete. We're up against it, but we
will do it again next week.

Speaker 4 (37:57):
You're a hater period. Kick you on your chest when
I see you again, just talk up on Yeah, I'm
gonna kick you into chests, all right.

Speaker 2 (38:57):
Here's the left over all? Right, justin Cooper, what do
we got? What are we looking at? Hey?

Speaker 10 (39:02):
So today I'm pretty excited about this. Actually today is
apparently National Sandwich Day. I'm a big fan of sandwiches.

Speaker 2 (39:10):
Yeah, what is that?

Speaker 3 (39:15):
Uh? You gotta get a particular sandwich in mind? But
are you gonna do a PB and J?

Speaker 5 (39:20):
A PB and J?

Speaker 2 (39:21):
I don't know.

Speaker 5 (39:23):
But how do you always pick the most basic thing out? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (39:26):
Basic pre school sandwiches. I'm a basic bitch. Okay, Look,
I mean I enjoy a PB and J.

Speaker 10 (39:34):
But that's like something that you make at midnight in
your kitchen, not something you go and you know, purchase.

Speaker 4 (39:40):
Uh, I don't know.

Speaker 10 (39:42):
I might do a cheese steak or I don't know,
it's a I'm looking at all these deals. There's you
didn't get a whole bunch of deals today because there's
National Sandwich Day at a whole bunch of different places.

Speaker 2 (39:53):
Are you gonna beat the Dodger parade Coop?

Speaker 4 (39:55):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (39:58):
Oh yeah, you're an Angels fan.

Speaker 4 (40:00):
I'm no longer a fan of baseball. Can I just say,
in case you missed it or the leftovers, Caleb Towns
should have been ejected from the game for targeting. That's
just my just my two cents. And I'm a defender,
like I like defense, I'm on the defensive side. But
that had to be a targeting call. Towns or Downs?

(40:22):
Did I say Downs or Towns? Said? Yeah, I might
have said downs instead of Towns and towns instead of downs.
You work it out. His name is Downs. Should have
been targeting.
