Then there the sticker that show you how to fit
in golf clubs golf bag.
Speaker 2 (01:59):
So I got that in there, a sticker to show
you how it fits in there.
Speaker 5 (02:04):
Got that in there. Got a cooler.
Speaker 2 (02:06):
Wish I had one of those, dang.
Speaker 5 (02:09):
On my roadside kit?
Speaker 2 (02:13):
Is it the highlight cooler?
Speaker 5 (02:15):
No, that's too big for that.
Speaker 2 (02:16):
Now that's too bad.
Speaker 4 (02:18):
Well, listen, Lee's got a new ride. So that is
the big update here. He's got a new ride. It
as fancy as can be, you know, a nice little uh,
a little keepsake from the from the grandparents. And there
we go, and all of that more as we recap
double barrel action in the NFL on Monday Night Football,
(02:40):
we talked about the Baltimore Ravens just a really impressive performance,
really impressive showing. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers opened up the
game pretty impressively, and then Mike Evans got hurt and
it was just kind of all downhill from there. Chris
Godwin dislocated ankle. Looks like he's going to be done
for the year. So that not great for Tampa Bay.
But Baltimore look the part. And then you had the
(03:01):
other game which was featured on ESPN Plus, which saw
the Cardinals and the Chargers, and that just was not
a very good game at all. Like Arizona wins that game,
but I'm really not sure what to make of the
Chargers at this point.
Speaker 7 (03:15):
I was a little bit more on his first year,
his first year coaching, you know, getting back into the
NFL ranks. I think, honestly, if you're looking at what
his body of work is so thus far, I think
it's it's trending in the right direction. I mean, it
really is for him to have the amount of success
that he's having right now so quickly. You know it's
(03:40):
a good team and it was ready to win. But
I still look at it like, you still have to
get back in. You got to get acclimated, and you
got to figure out what's going to work for you
at this level. I think that's the process he's in
right now.
Speaker 1 (03:52):
You know what's crazy, Like that was the first game
he really saw Justin Herbert air it out.
Speaker 2 (03:56):
Like remember how that?
Speaker 1 (03:57):
I mean he was since Justin Herbert's got in the
NFL statistically speaking, like everyone's been sold on what he
is as a quarterback, in part because of his production.
He hadn't I think he threw over. He hadn't thrown
over over two hundred fifty yards once this season until
last night. That was the first time, and I think
we all anticipated his stats would take a hit because
(04:18):
of the type of football that Jim Harbaugh wants to play.
He wants to run the football more, be more balanced.
I mean, it's a lot more lower scoring games. They
haven't even eclipsed thirty points yet this season.
Speaker 2 (04:30):
I think you go.
Speaker 1 (04:31):
Back to last year, there's probably a number of times
where they got to that number. If you look at
how many three hundred yard passing games over last year,
I would imagine I'm just guessing off the top of
my head, there was a number of times that was
the case, So I don't know. I mean, it's interesting
to think that, you know, Justin Herbert is going to
take a hit at least in the stat column in
(04:53):
exchange for hoping that he's going to be able to,
you know, win more football games. And ultimately that's probably
all he cares about. But it was a kind of
interesting watching a little bit last night. This going this
game feels different, but it's not gonna work out in
their favor this time around.
Speaker 2 (05:10):
So look, it's really early. I mean, they're not out
of it. What are they three and three right now? Yeah?
I mean it's they're gonna be six.
Speaker 7 (05:16):
And I feel like they're ahead of schedule. I know
there are again, I know they're a team that personnel wise,
they're built to win right now.
Speaker 2 (05:23):
I get that.
Speaker 7 (05:24):
But seeing how they have played with the previous coaching
staffs and and where they're at, I think they're on schedule.
Speaker 2 (05:34):
I do. I think three and three is not that's
not a bad place to be.
Speaker 4 (05:37):
Next three weeks, they've got New Orleans, Cleveland, and Tennessee.
Speaker 1 (05:42):
Which let's play a game of the NFL playoff predictor.
Speaker 4 (05:50):
All right, let's go do we have a game show?
Music here, live studio audience in attendance, all right, with
some instruments.
Speaker 2 (05:57):
Here we go. Yeah, I like this. I like this.
Speaker 1 (06:00):
Okay, So I think we'd all agree the Chiefs, Texans, Ravens,
Bills are all winning their divisions. That is that easy
to say, guys.
Speaker 7 (06:10):
Yeah, okay, although the Steelers could possibly sneak up on
the Ravens.
Speaker 1 (06:16):
But okay, no, no, I'm glad you said that. So
let's include the Steelers with those other four teams. That's
five teams we've got making the AFC playoffs right now.
That means there's two spots left. If you had to
guess right now, who is in the sixth and seventh
wildcard spots in the AFC playoff picture.
Speaker 4 (06:33):
The Chargers I can't participate and.
Speaker 2 (06:38):
Denver.
Speaker 1 (06:39):
Denver is one not the Chargers. Though the Chargers are
one spot back, Jonas.
Speaker 4 (06:47):
I'm gonna guess the Indianapolis Colts. That's right, Jonas, look
at it, but the Chargers are knocking on the door.
And in fact, the Chargers have a better chance, according
to the NFL dot Com, of making the playoffs and
the Colts, even though the Colts are sitting at.
Speaker 1 (07:03):
Four and three, and they are currently ahead of them. Now,
if you had to guess where are the New York Jets.
Speaker 4 (07:12):
For the AFC, they're in They're in Jacksonville territory. I
believe the New York Jets are.
Speaker 1 (07:22):
Well in one capacity maybe, but like they're out of
the top ten, they're they're twelve.
Speaker 2 (07:29):
Now.
Speaker 1 (07:29):
They do have, next to the Cincinnati, Bengals and Chargers,
the highest odds or probability of making the playoffs still,
So basically the Dolphins, Raiders, Jaguars, Titans.
Speaker 2 (07:41):
Browns, and you're out. Yeah you don't have a shot. Yeah,
you don't have a shot. They're not even in. They're
actually they're actually the.
Speaker 1 (07:48):
Only team that's in double digits is the Dolphins at
ten percent probability. So if you're into the nerd, the
nerdy numbers and stats and all that sometimes like I am,
then that you've got three teams, really five teams trying
to win for two spots.
Speaker 2 (08:02):
Is that fair to say?
Speaker 1 (08:03):
Yes, the six and seventh seed in the AFC playoff
pictures between the Colts, Broncos, Chargers, Bengals, and Jets.
Speaker 2 (08:11):
I'll eliminate Indianapolis not a believer.
Speaker 1 (08:15):
It is hard to believe that they would be saying
the sixth spot right now.
Speaker 2 (08:18):
Behave they gotta win? There you go? Yeah, I just.
Speaker 4 (08:24):
I don't know, man, Like, if like we we think
we know the top five teams, then what we're saying,
and I don't I don't want to piss LeVar off here, Like,
that's the last thing I want to do here on
a Tuesday morning.
Speaker 2 (08:36):
Not trying to do this.
Speaker 4 (08:37):
But if we are saying that we know what the
top five teams are, the division leaders and the Pittsburgh Steelers,
and if there's only two teams left, and let's say
it is, you know, the Chargers and the Bengals, then
that means that your Jets are going to be on
the outside looking in, and that's unfortunate.
Speaker 2 (08:53):
So I don't want to I don't want to piss
you off here. Yeah, no, man, Yeah, So I gotta
be careful about that. Sorry about that, all right?
Speaker 5 (09:01):
Man.
Speaker 4 (09:02):
Meanwhile, over in the NFC, hold more bad news for
the San Francisco forty nine Ers. Deebo Samuel in the
hospital because of a fluid in his lungs pneumonia like symptoms.
You've got Brandon Ayuk acl mcl both torn out for
the year. It just feels like nothing's going right for
(09:25):
the Niners this year at all. Started in the off
season with the Christian McCaffrey stuff than the Brandon Ayuk drama.
Yet a guy gets shot in the streets of San Francisco,
you had, like It just feels like everything that could
go wrong for the Niners this year, the special team's
miscues that Tom Brady was illustrating on Sunday, everything that
(09:46):
could go wrong for San Francisco seems like it's gone wrong.
And I just I'm not a believer that they're going
to get it turned around this year. I just don't
see them making a deep run in the NFC. I
don't know where you guys stand on it. I've seen enough.
I'm good with the Niners this year, are you?
Speaker 2 (10:03):
Yeah? That's it.
Speaker 7 (10:04):
I'm not packing it in them yet, right, I don't know.
I'm not packing it in on them yet. Yeah, I mean,
what do you gonna be a playoffs you're talking about.
That's the type of team. They'll figure out a way
to get to where they need to be and then
you see what happens from there. I'm not I'm not
a seller on the Niners. Yet I'm just not I
(10:27):
like Kyle Shanahan. You know one thing that I was
thinking about too, By the way, speaking of Kyle Shanahan
and good coaches, I was thinking to myself, you're it, right,
has his first game and goes into Pittsburgh and has
to go go win with the New York Jets team.
Speaker 2 (10:42):
Right.
Speaker 7 (10:44):
I wonder if we look at it, because I didn't.
I just just spark the thought of just listening to
what you were saying, I wonder how many or you too, Jonas,
I'm basically talking about the Niners. How many of these
teams I'm just thinking about the playoff pitcher and and
you saying what you said about the Niners. How many
of these teams are going to be coached by the
(11:06):
best coach or the best coaches in the league going
into the Super Bowl those odds? How many of those
teams have really really good coaches? Because when you went
into Pittsburgh, I'm telling you, I think the difference within
the game is the coaching. I do believe Russ was
a pick me up for them, but ultimately I think
(11:28):
schematically and the way those guys were pumped up to
play that game. He was just as pumped up as
they were. I think the energy was there from him
and the leadership and guidance, And I just wonder how
many of these teams are we looking at are really
superiorly coached, and the forty nine ers is one of
(11:49):
those teams that's on that list of superiorly coached teams.
Speaker 4 (11:53):
Can I just say this because I'm always a bit
uncomfortable having this discussion if somebody who didn't play highlight
level football like you guys did. And I've always been
one fascinated to know your thoughts. When you hear people
like me who didn't play at a high level and
they start talking about who got out coached, what coach
(12:15):
did this, what it's like, do you really know what
the hell you're talking about?
Speaker 2 (12:20):
Like?
Speaker 4 (12:20):
Do you know what the game plan was? Do you
know what the hell the ins and out? Like it
just like that part of me, like I feel awkward
when I hear people in my shoes quote unquote discuss coaching.
When let's be honest here, guys, And it's okay because
I'm in this same grouping. We have no idea what
the hell we're talking about in comparison to you guys,
we just don't.
Speaker 1 (12:40):
Yes, So that's a it's a tough one to answer,
because you know, no one who's on the outside knows.
Speaker 2 (12:45):
One hundred percent.
Speaker 1 (12:47):
I do feel like, you know, people who have played before,
coach before, have obviously a better idea as to they
they know how things ten operate behind closed doors or
how they're supposed to operate. I'm not saying that someone
who's never played, never coached, can't you know, study and
learn and understand maybe what was supposed to happen. But
I do think in general there's a reason why oftentimes
(13:11):
you get people who just kind of generally stay a
bunch of stuff and they'll just kind of it's more
generalities to some of the things they're saying, or they
kind of hear the company line from the media and
they just go with it. They're like, oh, yeah, that's
what everyone says, so I need to say that too.
You know, to me, you really have to go back
and dissect a lot of the tape to understand like
(13:33):
was it a lack of execution or was it a
lack of scheme? Like one thing, for example, if I
was to point out just being at IU in Nebraska
and going back and watching over that tape because Indiana
drummed them, and I thought it was gonna be a
competitive game. So clearly that was wrong. Man, I thought
Indiana would win. I didn't think they would win by
forty nine points. So when I went back and watched it,
(13:57):
one of the things that become became very apparent is
lack of priest the snap motion and shifts for Nebraska
as opposed to Indiana. Just being there watching it in person,
you kind of could feel that, and you can see
the defense trying to communicate in the stress that it
puts on them. Well, that's not like a player thing, right,
Like that's coaching, that's game plan, that's scheme, that's execution,
(14:20):
you know of those shifts and motions that to get
to a certain player, try to attack a defense a
certain way offensively. And when I looked at Nebraska's offense,
I was like, man, they don't really move around much.
And I kind of noticed it, but I didn't notice it.
And it's easier to see when you're watching one team
that does and one team that doesn't. And so when
I went back and looked, if you had to guess
how many plays this year Nebraska has moved pre snap,
(14:43):
either in motion or shift.
Speaker 2 (14:44):
How many would you guess how many times?
Speaker 7 (14:48):
Oh, if you're heading the week question just right out
out of the gate, in less than ten.
Speaker 2 (14:54):
It's probably more than ten. Okay, but you.
Speaker 1 (14:56):
Got to think they run what sixty at least sixty
five plays a game?
Speaker 7 (15:00):
Yeah, uh, maybe average like three shifts a game.
Speaker 1 (15:05):
So you are about right, I believe what's the record now?
Is it five and two?
Speaker 2 (15:11):
Some? Yeah? Yeah, okay, so you're actually almost dead on.
Speaker 1 (15:14):
So they've done eighteen eighteen times they've shifted or motion
before pre snap, which you know to me again, you know,
you know, when you're looking back on the tape, you're
always looking at how a player, what his responsibility is,
if he's doing his job, holding his leverage whatever is
on defense or a quarterback, or his eyes on the
right spot.
Speaker 2 (15:30):
You know, what does his footwork look like?
Speaker 1 (15:31):
All those things that's nothing to do with the players,
that's like pure scheme. And then so you look at
that and you go, oh, interesting, like that puts a
lot of pressure then on the execution at once the
ball is snapped, like the players doing everything they're supposed
to do because the defense is going to line up
and they're going to know exactly you know the personnel,
you know where your splits are, and have indications of
(15:53):
what you're trying to do. When you shift in motion,
you force the defense to have to think on the fly.
You force them that often times, especially when you've got
a guy in motion, you have no idea what to
split is. You have no idea what his route's going
to be coming off that motion. Sometimes, or especially once
they shift, the defense so concerned about making sure their
front is based upon the strength so they got the
run gap integrity and making sure that the coverage is
(16:15):
good as far as the matchups or the playing zone
how it's going to match up, So they're not as
keened in on looking at a guy's split where if
he's cut down, maybe it's cut down for a reason, right,
So there's all those little nuances that go into scheme
and that's where you go. Yeah, like Indiana flat out
out coach Nebraska. It wasn't even close now from an
(16:35):
execution standpoint, but a player standpoint, there are definitely some
mistakes and some things that I'm sure Nebraska told want
to have back. But the biggest gap in that game
when you look at the scoreboard and why the score
was the way it was, It was a scheme. It
was Nebraska's offense, in my opinion, gave literally no hope
to their defense at all in that game. There was
never a point time that they could gain momentum they
(16:56):
could gain a little bit of something out of it,
and in part because they weren't really catching Indiana off
guard defensively and sometimes pre stop motion chifs help with that.
So it's a long die tribe or explanation for Yes,
there's elements of time where you know, you going outside
like that person doesn't know what they're talking about, but
you try to be respectful and move on and use
your perspective to help educate people.
Speaker 4 (17:17):
And so when you're watching Jets Steelers, you think that
was the tipping point bar that it was a coaching mismatch.
Speaker 7 (17:24):
Tomlin to I started thinking to myself, why would we
expect the Jets to go in and out scheme the Steelers?
Like think about like, personnel wise, they're probably superior to
the Steelers. I don't think that that would be a
(17:45):
stretch to say personnel wise, they're like they're kind of
evenly matched the tap bit up front. I mean, the
Steelers secondary played out of their minds. But I would
just say today if we were looking at it personnel wise,
in fact, weren't the Jets favorite.
Speaker 2 (18:02):
To win that game? Yeah?
Speaker 7 (18:03):
I think like a couple of points. Yeah, I just
I just didn't think. After I was watching the game,
I was like, they're not going to out coach them,
They're not going to out push them. It's not like
I just and I just think that that's going to
exist in a lot of games.
Speaker 4 (18:18):
Don't you think, And like, because this doesn't I don't
think actually gets talked about a lot, Like we talk
about rookie players. You know, well they're a rookie. You
know they're going to improve. You know that's a rookie mistake.
Don't you think coaches go through the same thing as
well too, Like Olbrik's going to be better by the
end of the season than he is now as a coach.
Not saying that's going to mean they're going to be
(18:39):
a playoff team, but I do feel like coaches probably
get better as well. Like he was he's been on
the defensive side for years now, but now he's got
everything at his disposal, and he's in control of everything now,
and I.
Speaker 1 (18:53):
Don't even know if he's focused on that right now. Honestly,
the survival when you have a yeah, when you have
a coaching change in the middle of the season, you
know he most likely talked to their offensive staff and
is like, you guys handle this. I'm gonna try to
more oversee the defense. And he's definitely gonna lean that way.
If you get an off season where you have the
opportunity to then sit back and really diagnose things and
(19:16):
maybe make a higher maybe you want to bring in
someone you feel really good about calling a defense, that's
one opportunity, or even offense for that matter.
Speaker 2 (19:23):
But at this point, he's just trying to survive, man.
Speaker 1 (19:25):
Like this is about not letting this thing fall apart
at the seams, and so he's probably trying to keep
the locker room together, keep all these guys together.
Speaker 2 (19:33):
That's that's more or less what's probably what's taking place.
Speaker 4 (19:36):
Let me tell you what doesn't help when you get
guys like LaVar calling him you're it.
Speaker 2 (19:40):
You're it.
Speaker 1 (19:43):
By the way, back to the conversation about pre snap
shift's motion all that, who do you think is the
number one team in the Big ten var Penn State.
Speaker 2 (19:51):
That's right, they're going, that's crazy. And then just to
that point, I use like tide for third.
Speaker 1 (19:58):
So when you look at offensive perform and you look
at it all that, it's not always a direct indication,
but usually some of the best teams are some of
the best. You know, times they're scheming people up, they're
able to do a shift in a motion to catch
a defense making an adjustment and catch the loft guard.
Speaker 7 (20:12):
Yeah, yeah, create matchup issues. He stretches defense out.
Speaker 3 (20:15):
Man.
Speaker 7 (20:16):
By the way, if we're gonna call it Colton Nikki,
how you say his name? Is that how you say
his name? It's Coda Niki, Coda Nikki, Coda Nikki. Yeah,
Kodo Nikki.
Speaker 2 (20:24):
Real quick. He's a bad man. I know.
Speaker 4 (20:27):
We have to get to break. LaVar and I were
talking about this during one of the previous breaks. Those
helmets by Illinois.
Speaker 7 (20:33):
Yeah, I thought they were harsh. I thought they were
going to be cheesy, but I thought that. I thought
the Unions hard man.
Speaker 2 (20:38):
Do you guys see how much time it took that guy?
Speaker 7 (20:40):
Yeah, two hours per helmet, per helmet, Yeah, two hours
per helmet.
Speaker 2 (20:45):
Crazy they pay that guy. I mean they were sweet,
but yeah.
Speaker 7 (20:48):
Everyone you know Maryland did that too. They were doing
that at one point they were like every single helmet
was customized. Not one of the helmets were the same
for one of the helmets that they had did so yeah, yeah,
well but that joint day did for Illinois fighting a lina.
And if you like love like little history tidbits and
(21:09):
stuff like that, look up why fight in a line?
I play? They're called to fight in a lina? And
look up why they play Immemorial Stadium. It's pretty dope, man,
It's pretty dope military related, but it's pretty dope story.
Speaker 4 (21:21):

Speaker 3 (23:02):
You've got the top fifteen, right.
Speaker 1 (23:05):
Yeah, that's right, boys and girls, ladies, and gentlemen, we've
got the top fifteen for college football head of a
week nine of the college football season, and right away,
I'm gonna start at number fifteen because the meat wagon.
He hit me up and he goes, why do you
start at one? He said, I don't know. I just
figured you kind of work at one and work the
way down. I don't know, but I thought about it. Yeah,
(23:28):
the big, the higher ones are more baby. Yeah, maybe
that we've meet my meat Wagon's right, I was like,
but it becomes anti climatic though. By the time you
get to one, you kind of know who's number one.
So anyway, I'm gonna start at fifteen, but I'm gonna
give you the teams that almost made it. Okay, Texas,
A and M I'm sorry you're on the outside set
at number sixteen right now.
Speaker 2 (23:48):
We got one.
Speaker 1 (23:49):
Loss, but that one loss was the versus the fight
and Irish. They're battling back. As they get into the
meat of the schedule, we'll see old Miss Pitt, who's undefeated,
sitting at eighteen, Boise State, then Miszoo. So those are
the first five out from the top fifteen. Let's go
to number fifteen, Kansas state. They've dismantled West Virginia by
four scores on the road. This team is explosive offensively
(24:10):
with the combination of Giddons obviously in Johnson their quarterback,
and the backfield. Their defense is allowing just over a
little twenty points per game, and it's the best rush
defense in the Big Twelve. So they kick us off
at number fifteen. All the way down to number fourteen
is Alabama now two losses. Apparently they just can't beat
a team in the state of Tennessee, given the loss
(24:31):
to Tennessee this past weekend and Vandy earlier this season.
Speaker 2 (24:34):
But they still have that win over Georgia.
Speaker 1 (24:36):
We'll get to Georgia and they still have a tough
schedule ahead Miszoo and then at LSU down in Baton.
Speaker 2 (24:42):
Rouge the next couple of weeks.
Speaker 1 (24:44):
Could this be the year that Alabama doesn't even make
the college football Playoff?
Speaker 2 (24:48):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (24:48):
At number thirteen, the Notre Dame Fighting Iris a nice
win over Georgia Tech in the Merce Cities Benz Dome. However,
they did take on a backup QB and Zach Pyron
with Haines king Al look the group game it's definitely there.
This is a solid team that's based on their defense. However,
quarterback Ben Morrison will missed the rest of the season. We
(25:10):
heard that news this past week. Who would have thought,
though the toughest teams they've been on their schedule would
end up being Army and Navy, both undefeated at this
point in time, Absolutely ridiculous. They played Navy this week
at Medlife Stadium at number twelve BYU an undefeated team
right now with that last minute win over Oklahoma State
to keep their Big twelve hopes alive. Jake Retzloft, their quarterback,
(25:34):
did throw a couple of interceptions, but redeemed himself running
the football and making a great play to Darius Lassiter
who did the rest to help them go on top
of the Cowboys.
Speaker 2 (25:43):
At number eleven.
Speaker 1 (25:44):
We saw in this past week a dominant performance from
IU over Nebraska to get them to seven and zero. Look,
this team is legit that one of the most well
coached teams. The only concern is their quarterback Curtis Urke.
He's going to miss this week. We did see Tavid
Jackson come in, a highly recruited kid out of the
University Tennessee initially transferred to IU. He's athletic, he can
(26:04):
sling it, but that is an area of concerns. They
take on Washington at noon this Saturday at number ten
Iowa State, again a close one over UCF, but it
makes you think maybe this is the team of destiny.
Rock o'beck, their quarterback continues to impress through the air
and on the ground. In Jalen Noel's the best wide
receiver no one's talking about. You're gonna hear his name
come around time for the draft next year. He's one
(26:26):
of the best wide receivers in college football and will
be one of the top picks at the wide receiver spot.
At number nine. LSU has seemed to redeem themselves at
this point. Another example of a team that maybe we
rode off too soon, but they absolutely handled Arkansas, who
remember did knock off Tennessee earlier this year, and they've
improved defensively. Is it good enough though, to get to
the SEC Championship game and potentially win the championship? Had
(26:49):
number eight Clemson. Another dominant win by Clemson over Uva
this week. Did we write off them too soon after
the opening loss to Georgia? They've been nothing but dominate
since then, and they looked to be on a clear
path to the ACC Championship game. At number seven Miami,
cam Ward and the Hurricanes were in control of this one,
but it did go a little bit back and forth.
Some concerns defensively about this Miami team, but as long
(27:12):
as cam Ward your quarterback, you're always going to have
a shot. Still undefeated, still on their way to the
AEC Championship game. Tennessee got a big win over Bama
in Knoxville, which was huge for their ramifications and chances
of getting to the SEC Championship game. Dylan Sampson, the
running back he went off, had himself quite the day,
almost one hundred and forty yards, a couple of tuddies,
(27:32):
and the defense has still been the most consistent piece,
holding Bama to just seventeen points. At number five, Texas
was ranked number one. They dropped down to number five
after losing to Georgia at home. Didn't really feel like
they were ever in that game. Starts makes the quarterback
change from quinn Ewers to Arch. There's all these rumors
swirling around now on social media. Twenty four seven Sports
(27:54):
says they got hacked and they put out of a
report that said yours was going to step down for
the rest of the year to prepare for the draft.
It sounds like that's not the case. But I'll say
this much. When Arch was in there better athlete, it
seemed like they had a bigger arm. It could there
be a quarterback controversy. A lot of football left be played.
At number four, the Penn State knitt Knee Lions. They're
coming off there by a sneaky one this week on
(28:16):
the road. By the way, they got to play with
Scott's in This Wisconsin team is much improved over the
last three weeks, blowing out their opponents. Bradon locked, their backup,
started to settle in and Toabbie Walker has been the
difference for them. The run games had over four hundred
yards the past three games and six tuddies. So this
will be a challenge for Penn State with the big
one next week versus Ohio State at number three, talking
(28:39):
about those buck guys, they're coming off the buy. Remember
they obviously lost last time out versus Oregon. They take
on Nebraska this week. We'll see what defensive changes they
have made. Is that's been at least boots on the
ground they're reporting right now. That's the frustration for a
lot of the Buckeyes fans, is that defense, the inability
to stop the run and get more pressure in the
big games. At number two, Oregon at this spot after
(29:01):
beating O'house dated a couple of weeks ago, and look,
they took care of business on the short week versus Purdue.
But I'm not ready to put them ahead of the
Georgia Bulldogs. Look, they just knocked off the number one
team in their house in the country. I know a
lot of people want to look at their lost Alabama.
I still go back and look at that game, how
close it was, what that game could have been. And
not to nerd out, but every single metric you're looking at,
(29:23):
whether it's their resume and George's played the hardest strength
of schedule, or if you look at their the power
index and everything else you want to point to their efficiencies,
this is the best team by every imaginable imaginable measure,
with the exception of that one loss.
Speaker 2 (29:39):
Hang in there. They played a much more difficult schedule.
They will play a more difficult schedule moving forward.
Speaker 1 (29:44):
If they had wide receivers and tight ends that could
consistently catch the football, they probably would be undefeated at
this point, but they're working their way there either way.
That is my top fifteen head in a week nine
of college football.
Speaker 2 (29:55):
Bam out right there, Bam Seam LaVar.
Speaker 1 (30:04):
Are you a little worried though about this maybe being
like a trap game?
Speaker 2 (30:07):
Look ahead to Ohio State next week? Nope, We'll be
all right, all.
Speaker 1 (30:11):
Right because the last time we were we there together
for Wisconsin Iowa.
Speaker 2 (30:16):
You didn't go to the Wisconsin Penn State game.
Speaker 3 (30:18):
M M.
Speaker 2 (30:19):
Can I tell you do?
Speaker 1 (30:20):
We have time for a quick story, by the way, Yeah,
So this was back when Reggie Bush was working on
our crew and he got up that morning was Penn
State Wisconsin big game where everyone's looking forward to it.
His back like went out. So he's in there like
rolling around and he's not getting dressed. He's in a
lot of pain, and we're like, man, what can we do?
Speaker 2 (30:39):
What can we get you?
Speaker 1 (30:40):
He's taking like Adville townent on stuff and it's like
we all get out there to the set and eventually
he comes out. He's got to keep packs and stuff on.
So we get through the show and we're in the
stadium and at one point Reggie like disappears. We have
no idea where he goes. The Wisconsin training staff took
him into the locker room.
Speaker 2 (31:00):
He was in a hot tub like.
Speaker 1 (31:02):
Basically for the entirety of the game, loosening up his
back and getting worked on by their athletic trainers while
the entire game is going on. I have no idea
if he saw any of that game. But he did
come out for postgame and all that after having a
nice spa day the Wisconsin.
Speaker 2 (31:22):
Athletic training room. It was fantastic.
Speaker 4 (31:24):
So he sought the Mountain, said, hey, I need a
little help here. Could you guys do some work? Oh yeah,
they had, Oh yeah, he.
Speaker 1 (31:30):
Was getting the hot sub I think he might have
got like some massage work. I'm not sure what was
going on there. He had as soon as halftime into
like he was getting the full shebang. I don't think
he saw a play or a second of the second
half of that game.
Speaker 7 (31:42):
I wasn't there. I wasn't there. Now, I think we'll
be all right. We were, We're healthy, and we have
an offensive line and a defensive line. I have not
been able to say that definitively for quite some time,
and we have an proving quarterback. So I think our
(32:02):
trap game was this past weekend, well it was a
by weekend the weekend before. I think coming to the coliseum,
that was a trap game. So they and they almost
allowed themselves to be trapped. I don't They're not going
to take Wisconsin lightly. I think that's going to be
a game where you see the dominance of the Penn
State offensive front and the dominance of the defensive front
(32:27):
of Penn State. It's going to show in a Wisconsin
game because that's what Wisconsin is known for.
Speaker 3 (32:32):
