You got problems, man, oh.

Speaker 4 (00:59):
Man, stop laughing? Oh man? You got that videos crazy?
You go like, just go down a couple of them.
That junk is hilarious, bro, It's a brain teaser in
an IQ test. All at the same time, and people

(01:19):
get really into cause you know, you know what it is.
You just had this, you have this thing where you
just don't want to be dumb, you know, like people
make it such a point to call you dumb, like
when you're growing up and stuff like or even as
an adult, like you dumb ass, Da da da this,
that and the other. So people be so caught up

(01:40):
on being smart that if you give them just a
simple IQ test, you give them a simple thing to do,
they go all in to get it right. And that's
the setup. Man, Like the way the dude talks to
the people while he's going through the process of getting
them to say the sentence backwards. It's so funny. You
ever do a miliary, he said, You ever do a

(02:02):
military Uh? Well, he say a military hack squat or
something like that. He's like, no, how you do that?
He said? You put your hands up over your head,
both hands, and then you squat loud. Let's do it.
You gotta spread them legs real, real wide, get to
get the knees out there and squat one and two,
he said, out of ease. Soldier, Now squat and say

(02:24):
now say you remember the sentence right, you remember the sentence.
Now say the sentence backwards while you're doing this military squat.

Speaker 3 (02:30):
What was the sentence? Do you care to elaborate? Or
is that?

Speaker 4 (02:34):
Do I care to elaborate? All right, I'll tell you
what what the sentence is before they say it backwards. Okay,
out as my dog. I say that, Say that ten times,

(02:54):
out as my dog.

Speaker 1 (02:57):
But just don't say it backwards those we're in a
military squad. Uh, there's no way, there's a real if
somebody approaches you with a camera and a mic and
says I've got some some brain teasers for you, Like
just don't even participate.

Speaker 3 (03:12):
You're gonna like.

Speaker 4 (03:13):
Anybody if anybody approaches you randomly, period, don't. Yeah, just don't.
Just don't.

Speaker 3 (03:20):
Just go the other way.

Speaker 4 (03:21):
Just don't.

Speaker 1 (03:23):
So we are we are looking back on what happened
last night. First things first here in the world of sports.

Speaker 4 (03:30):
But my income, Yeah, but my income, that's the one
that they all go for. But my income yeah. Uh
so the.

Speaker 1 (03:44):
Uh so, the Minnesota Timberwolves are on to the next
round of the NBA playoffs. Uh the Los Angeles Lakers
are going home. Our friends listening and waking.

Speaker 4 (03:56):
Up with us.

Speaker 1 (03:56):
Now on the blowtorch Am five to seventy l A Sports.
You can, now, upon further review, look at the fact
that the Lakers were favored in that series at the
start of it, and you can all laugh together in
Unison because that makes no sense whatsoever. Minnesota was the
far better team and it played out that way. So
the conversation now turns to, all right, what's the uh

(04:20):
what did you make of the plan this year, Lebron James.
What did you make of the fact that you decided
to trade on from Anthony Davis and you decided to
bring in and go small ball. Let's take a listen
to Lebron post game following the elimination loss last night.

Speaker 5 (04:36):
Basically from mid January on right when eighty got injured,
you got started playing a lot of centerless basketball and
that required a lot from you and Doe and Ruie
and then Vando once he got back. Just from a
physical taxing standpoint, how tough was that for the last
three and a half months to play that style And

(04:57):
do you feel like that caught up at all in
this series?

Speaker 4 (05:00):
Uh? No comment.

Speaker 6 (05:02):
I'll never say that, because, uh, my guy eighty said
what he needed and uh he was gone. The following week,
So I got no comment. I put that uniform on
every night. I gave everything I had and that's a matter.

Speaker 3 (05:23):
Yeah, no comment means there's a comment there.

Speaker 4 (05:27):
The way he saved there. Who is he taking a
shot at? Is that Genie Buss? And who's he taking
a shot out? Is it? Is it the because the
the general manager looked pretty Polinka looked pretty sick on
that like he was making some real that face. They
caught him one time, and they must have seen him
make the face a few times for them to be

(05:48):
able to strategically show his face facial expression during the
course of that game last evening. I mean, is it Polinka?

Speaker 3 (05:56):
Can I? Can I all throw this out there?

Speaker 1 (06:00):
I I And again I'm not trying it because these
are professional athletes. They're way more of an athlete than
I'll ever be or ever think to be. But I'll
just say this, I think Luca wasn't he was not
in shape. I think it shows this is not just
the back injury. And I think there's probably some frustration

(06:21):
with Lebron looking at this guy, going you got all
the talent in the world, Like you got to tighten
this up, dude, Like you got to tighten this up,
because that was one of the conversations out of Dallas
about him, is where they just went on and on
about like he doesn't take care of himself. And it
looked last night like a guy who hadn't taken care
of himself, honestly, like it looked like somebody who there

(06:44):
was no burst, there was no and we can talk about, well,
you know, he's tired.

Speaker 3 (06:48):
He's tired. I get if Lebron's tired. He's eighty five.

Speaker 1 (06:52):
Luca's in his twenties and he's unable to finish games
and unable to stay on the floor. And it's not
like he's being taxed on defense like he doesn't.

Speaker 3 (07:02):
He's not known to play it just And I wonder.

Speaker 1 (07:06):
If there's some frustration from Rob Polinka, maybe from Lebron
being like, look, I know what the plan was. We
traded away Anthony Davis. He probably would have helped big
time last night. I wonder how much they're looking at
at Luca going dude, you got to tighten it up, man,
because this.

Speaker 3 (07:25):
Is not this is not the way you go about
being a professional.

Speaker 4 (07:30):
Well, first, I'm curious as to why he would choose
to approach the question the way that he did. He
he positioned himself as a powerless individual or a powerless
commodity that could be traded away or tossed aside just easily.

(07:53):
And I don't you know, maybe there's some truth to that.
Maybe there isn't. I don't. I don't really know how
how to interpret that yet. Oh that's that was their call.

Speaker 1 (08:02):
I mean, listen, I just put on the jersey and
I go, Yeah, because you've never had influence anywhere else
in your career.

Speaker 4 (08:06):
That's a that's a brain teaser. Yeah, that's a brain
teaser and IQ test. If you ask me, and if
I were to say what he was saying backwards, it
might it might come out in a different way and
read differently. But you know, to your point of the
I think it's a damn if you do, damn if
you don't situation. If Anthony Davis is healthy, they one

(08:32):
are in a much different position in that series than
what they were without him. I think the the assets
that the package that that Anthony Davis brings to the
table would have made them much more formidable against things
that were taking taking place like go Beart doesn't have
the type of game that he's having. There's a chance

(08:54):
that that Julius Randall isn't having the type of game
that he's having because you have somebody who can be
a presence, more of a presence and a scorer at
the same time, in Anthony Davis, he plays defense, plays
defense very well. It would have created a different matchup situation.
JJ Reddick perceivably would have been able to take a

(09:16):
different approach to game plan wise how he was going
to play them on defense. And you have a different
a different level of competition if you have a AD
in that lineup. But the damned part is you don't
know if you're going to have him in the lineup,
and you don't know how long you're going to have
him in the lineup. And I think that that's the

(09:38):
bigger issue here. Is there buyer's remorse. I think it's
too early to tell if it's buyer's remorse because where
they were heading in my estimation before they made the trade,
I don't I think they were going to be a
play in team. Maybe they went on a little tear
when they got Luka Doncic and it kind of, you know,
kind of shaped the season differently, and you know they

(10:01):
were able to secure a three seed going into the playoffs, which,
by the way, the stat on them being a three seed,
they had never lost in the first round. The Lakers
in the history of the franchise, I believe, had never
lost when they came into the playoffs as a three
seed ever in the history of the franchise. So going
into it, I think a lot of people had some

(10:24):
very high hopes on what the playoff run could look like.
And I think even on our show we had the
conversation points of what constitutes a successful season for the
Lakers once they made the trade, I certainly believe no
one would have guestimated or estimated just making the playoffs,

(10:45):
you know, or being in a competitive first first series game.
I mean, didn't did the Timberwolves have to play into
the playoffs. They didn't have to do the play in
did they? Yet that was the Grizzly I always confuse
the Grizzlies with you know, with the Wolves. But anyway,

(11:07):
I digress. I think the point is is that I
don't think anyone would come away with saying that them
going out in five in the first first round of
the playoffs would constitute a successful trade I think a
lot of people felt like this team might be unstoppable
with the greatest player air quotes of all time in

(11:27):
Lebron James, and with Luka Doncic, who is considerably the
best player in the game today. From what some people
may say, I think he's everything but that at this point,
and it's probably because of the things that you highlighted.
I don't know him very well. I don't know him
at all. Actually, I don't know what his routines are.

(11:49):
I don't know what he does to prepare himself. What
I do know is that if he's not scoring at
a rapid clip, his value as a player goes down tremendously.
It's a tremendous drop off. If he's not given you
thirty points forty points, and I know that's a crazy

(12:12):
number to say, but if he's not giving you thirty
forty a night, the value of Luka Doncic drops through
the floor. And I think that you saw that play
out in a series where he was just unable to
really get himself going and really have an impact on
the series and on the games that they were in.

Speaker 1 (12:34):
Lebron also talked about his future, you know, because this
is you know, this is going to become the yearly
conversation to be had as he approaches this point in
his career.

Speaker 3 (12:45):
Could this be it? He talked about it afterwards.

Speaker 5 (12:48):
Enter into an off season on a roster that has Lukadocich,
that secured the number three seeds in the West in
a really tough West this year.

Speaker 4 (12:57):
What type of thought does that give you about your
end game?

Speaker 5 (13:02):
And yeah, how many more years will we see you play?

Speaker 6 (13:10):
I don't know. I don't have the answer to that. Something.
I'll sit down with my family, my wife and my
support group and kind of just talk through it and
see what happens. And then you just have conversations with
myself on how long I want to continue to play.
I don't know the answer to that right now, to

(13:30):
be honest.

Speaker 4 (13:31):
So so they're going to well, he did say in
start in five, I haven't come across anybody yet that
made me feel like I needed to sit down. No
one out there. And then that coincidentally, ironically, I don't know,
but the very next scene after Lebron James says I
haven't come across anybody in this league that would make

(13:53):
me sit down at this moment, they introduced Anthony Edwards
and now it's it's like he introduces himself. He's the
guy that that is a part of the team that
led the way and sitting him down the proverbial sitting
Lebron James down. I wonder if he's if he's if

(14:16):
he's seeing that because the clip went I think it
went viral after game four or after game five, game five,
and I think it went viral showing that intro to
the TV show on Netflix, And so I'm curious as
to will he take into consideration that Anthony Edwards happened

(14:38):
to be the same person on the intro in terms
of what Lebron had to say and then Anthony Edwards.
And I don't even know that there's a correlation, Like
I doubt Anthony Edwards was aware of what Lebron James said,
but what he had to say in that intro was
there's no one in the league that I currently look

(14:58):
up to. I don't have any idols or role models
that I look up to in the NBA.

Speaker 1 (15:05):
Like, I still think Lebron's the Lakers' best player. He's
their most complete player because Luca's defense is you know,
it's not like Lebron's lighting it up. But I trust
Lebron lat in games more so than I do Luca
on both ends of the floor. I do wonder because
you started to watch last night and Luca.

Speaker 4 (15:23):
Was more productive in the game. Though he was more productive,
he scored and not very much. He scored six more
points than what Lebron scored. He had two more, two
more rebounds, three more rebounds than what he had, and
he had three more or one more rebound than him.
Well actually they had the same amount of rebounds. He

(15:44):
had three more assists than what he did, but none
of those things constitute defense.

Speaker 1 (15:49):
Yeah, Like if you just if you like, if you
watch the game, it's pretty obvious that Luca's a liability
on defense, and Anthony Davis is one of the better
when healthy, one of the better defenders in the NBA,
if not the best. And I just look at it
was the first time I've seen Lebron and been like
he did kind of start to show his age a

(16:11):
little bit. He can see still a great player. I
don't think by any means he should be retiring, but
it is obvious that he needs more help now than
he has other times in his career.

Speaker 4 (16:22):
Well, and that's what Anthony Edwards had in the game. Like,
this doesn't have to be all doom and gloom on Lebron,
James and the Lakers. Right, you know, Luca gave you
twenty eight. That's not a bad numb It's not a
horrible number. You just think in terms of Luca, he
needs to be in the thirties forties because again, he's
not going to give it to you on the defensive side.
So you got to subtract out the mount of numbers

(16:44):
he's going to give up to whoever it is he's
guarding on the defensive side. Now, granted, at times he
was on Anthony Edwards. Anthony only scored fifteen points.

Speaker 3 (16:53):
Well, Anthony Edwards wasn't good last night.

Speaker 4 (16:55):
She did not score very much last night. He did
not have a tremendous large impact on the game. And
so when you look at it, what they have to
figure out for the Lakers, which is not a horrible
situation to be in, especially if Lebron were to decide
to come back. They have to have a third option.
They have to and I know that they were looking

(17:16):
at it from from Reeves or you know, whatever it
may be. You know, Hachi Mora. You know he was
and he was hot last night, Hatchi Mora like was
he was hitting the three? Was it five out of
eight or six something like that, I don't know, but
he hit like I believe he hit like five three
pointers in the game. Like he did fairly well for them.

(17:37):
But I think they were hoping to get more out
of Hachi Mora than what they have been getting. I
just think that they need one more guy that I
if Luca can't get it done that night, if Lebron
is not getting it done that night, that he can
pick up the slack. Now for what it's worth, I
think that Minnesota getting that from Rudy Gobert and last

(18:00):
night's game is not something that they should come to
depend on. I know, you're like all gone on them all.
They're going to be in the Western Conference Final. Now,
it's a strong it is a strong prediction. I will
not say it's a weak prediction. It's a strong prediction.
Especially if Randall can continue to play the way that

(18:23):
he's playing, and if if go Beart continues to play
that he's the way he's playing, they could go all
the way to the NBA Finals. I just don't see
that happening. I believe Randal can continue to be the
player that he is and Anthony Edwards can't have games
where he disappears, where he only gets fifteen points like
that can't happen. If that happens in the lot of rounds,

(18:45):
the better teams will clip them. Yeah, So I just
I don't I'm not bullish on them making it to
the NBA, the Western Finals or Western Conference Finals. I'm
not bullish on.

Speaker 1 (18:56):
That was a bad game for the Timberwolves last night
and they were by far and away the better team
they won.

Speaker 4 (19:01):
And one away and one on their court on the Lakers.

Speaker 3 (19:04):
So I mean, I just I look at it.

Speaker 1 (19:06):
I find it hard to believe Anthony Edwards is going
to go for eleven from three and they're gonna shoot,
you know, thirteen percent or whatever it was.

Speaker 3 (19:12):
Moving forward, but that'll be That.

Speaker 4 (19:16):
Will be a tremendous This would be a tremendously large
step in the direction of Anthony Edwards continuing to build
and grow his reputation of being one of the brightest,
biggest new super megastars in the NBA. If they were
able to even just make it to the finals, if
they could make it a step in the direction of

(19:37):
getting into the finals. This would go a really, really
long way, and they could be dangerous. He's getting they
could be dangerous if they make it to the.

Speaker 3 (19:43):
It's gonna be.

Speaker 1 (19:44):
It's gonna be back to back years have been in
the Western Conference finals.

Speaker 4 (19:47):
Good for the But it's either it's either Golden State
or Houston that they played, yeah next, right, Yeah, I
just think it's they're better matched up going up against
Golden State. I believe that even though Golden State can
beat you from the outside, like they shoot the lights out,
and if you can't keep up with that offensive production,
which in a way, the Timberwolves may not be able

(20:10):
to keep. They only you know, they got a few guys,
like I said, Michael Conley has to come to the
table if they're gonna be a Golden State. But if
they're playing against Houston, I think that's a horrible matchup
for the For the Timberwolves, I think it is a
horrible matchup for them, and so that they can match
up with them much better player for player than any

(20:33):
other team I would say, probably possibly even in the West.

Speaker 1 (20:38):
I mean Houston, I mean Houston will be gone next game,
so that it'll be Golden State and then Minnesota will
walk all over Golden State and get into the Western
Conference Finals. And you gotta think back to the Nuggets.

Speaker 4 (20:49):
The Nuggets are heating up and they would be a
tough matchup for the Timberwolves as well. But I would not.
I would not say it's a foregone conclusion that that
one Golden State gets out of this, They're they're in
a fight for their lives in that that series for
one for two, I believe that. Actually not, I'm really

(21:09):
thinking about it and looking at it. It's a it's
a tough matchup for the Timberwolves either way either team,
because one shoots the lights out while the other one
has like a just a very very athletic, very hard
defense of playing type of it'll be the best defense
they see in the playoffs that they go up against Houston.
So I think that's a that's a tough matchup either way.

(21:31):
But if they're able to get through the Golden State
or or Rockets series, you got to take into consideration
where are they at, you know, in terms of you know,
how they feel health wise and are they worn out?
Like what type of a series will that be. So
there's a lot of things to take into consideration in

(21:52):
terms of variables as to how they will come out
and how they would look if they had the opportunity.
But they're in good position. They took it in five,
so I mean, you know, give them their props and
just look at it as this is one of those
types teams. They definitely do have a chance to make
it out of the West.

Speaker 3 (22:09):
We're going to be howling in the Western Conference finals.
Those Minnesota Tea We're going to be It is Two
Pros and a Cup of Joe.

Two Pros and a Cup of Joe.

Speaker 1 (22:44):
Fox Sports Radio, LaVar Arrington, Jonas Knox with you here.
Coming up in a little over fifteen minutes from now,
we'll close up shop here on this Thursday morning with
another edition of Lee's Leftovers that will be yours here
on FSR. Right now, though, we turn it over to
our guy a Thursday tradition here on the show. He
is Albert Breer, senior NFL reporter, lead content strategist at

(23:05):
the MMQB. You see him on Amazon Primes Thursday night
football coverage during the season, and again our Thursday tradition
here on the show, it'd be good morning, how you doing.

Speaker 7 (23:16):
Hello, Good morning, guys, how are we doing?

Speaker 3 (23:18):
Good?

Speaker 1 (23:19):
Good morning outside of and I'm sure we'll have a
conversation or two about Shador Sanders. What was the from
people you've talked to in around the league or for
you yourself, what was the biggest surprise of the NFL
Draft this past week?

Speaker 7 (23:38):
You know, I think like it was you know, what's
interesting about it was kind of like the way that,
like I'd say, from pick five to pick twenty, like
everything was on the table. And I think that was
illustrated by the fact that like Tyler Warren and Jalen Locker,
who were seen as not top ten locks, but like

(24:02):
guys who had a really good chance to go inside
the top ten when fourteen and fifteen, you know, so
like seeing some of those things materialize. I think in
some cases, seeing like a Mike Green, who at one
point was seen as maybe a mid first round pick,
you know, because he had the incident in his past

(24:23):
teams like sort of playing a stats. This year, I
think he saw a little bit more of that. I mean,
maybe Dylan Gabriel going in the third round I think
surprise some people, But I don't know if there were
any I see that. That's the thing is, like, this
is one of those drafts where after you got passed
those first few guys, like it felt like anything was

(24:45):
on the table. And so I think like for a
lot of the players, there were just these big, wide
ranges of outcomes, you know, where a guy could go five,
a guy could go fifteen, the guy could go twenty five.
I think he saw that in a way that it
played out on Thursday Friday night.

Speaker 4 (25:05):
You mentioned the Dylan Gabriel selection. They took two obviously
later in the draft. How how do you see that, Like,
what's the thought process on that, because again obviously that
everybody has been talking about in terms of details. If
you take a quarterback that late, you're generally taking them
to be a backup, not necessarily a starter. So I

(25:28):
would have to assume one of those guys may or
may not even be on that roster come regular season.

Speaker 7 (25:35):
Yeah, it's a weird situation, LeVar, because I mean, and
it's just from a rough standpoint, I think it's gonna
be challenging for the coaches. Who is spring because you
don't get that many and so like you've got Joe
Flacco and you know, and and and Kenny and who
have almost identical guarantees of the contract, so the cost

(25:57):
of walking away from either of them is like equal,
you know. And then you have the two rookies there.
Deshaun Watson obviously isn't healthy. It's ready to go right now.
But you know, how do you how do you break
that down? Do you do you stay to Joe Blacko? Okay,
like you know, like we're gonna we're gonna give some

(26:17):
of those reps to younger guys. If your Joe, do
you feel comfortable with that given the Yeah, you were
there a couple of years ago. But there's a new
offensive coordinator, there are new teammates.

Speaker 8 (26:26):
That you have to learn and like, how is that gonna,
you know.

Speaker 7 (26:31):
Affect your ability to compete to be the starter. It's
just it's complicated in a zillion different ways, you know,
and you know how much of an opportunity because of
that that REP situation doing Gabrielle George Standers is gonna
have to prove Himsell. I think what Kevin's gonna have
to do is top like great some sort of meritocracy
where it just becomes all right, like you know, like, well,

(26:54):
we're gonna we're gonna start everybody on a level playing
field from a REP. What doesn't mean that everybody gets
to work the same amount with the first seed, but
we're going to try to, you know, tivvy up the
repst evenly and then just go forward and let people
earn them as they as they go.

Speaker 1 (27:11):
He's Albert Brier joining us here on Fox Sports Radio.
Get him on x at Albert Breer, Abe. I wanted
to ask you about the Vikings and JJ McCarthy.

Speaker 3 (27:21):
This is this is a.

Speaker 1 (27:22):
Team who was a playoff team at a great year
last year. We know things ended the final two games
of the season, but nonetheless, if JJ McCarthy's their guy.
It would stand a reason that they would maybe take
a step back, And I just wonder are they willing
to go through those growing pains and understand it could
be a subpar year in comparison to last year, or

(27:44):
is he going to have a shorter leash because they
don't want to miss out on this window that they have,
you know, I think that was I all along.

Speaker 7 (27:53):
That's dependent on what else they have on their roster.
And now they've traded for Sam Howell, I think he
has maybe a little bit of a longer leash. And
look like I would say this, like, you know, for
as tumultuous as the fall was for him, he's been
in the building every day since the season. Season ended,

(28:15):
He's put the way back on, you know, so he's
doing a lot of the right things now. He wasn't
meeting with the team last year when he could, and
he had a meeting once a week with Kevin O'Connell.
So I mean, here's the thing is, Like, you're right, Jones,
it's not a rebuilding situation. This isn't retooling. This isn't

(28:37):
a team that can throw like a month and a
half the season overboard the name of quarterback development. I
agree with all of that. Like I think, like Kevin,
this is where this is where Kevin has tried to
like sort of balance that like balance the quarterback back
developed the piece with like, hey, like, I've got guys
in this locker. I'm like Justin Jefferson and Kristen Darius

(28:57):
not coming back off the ACL and Brian O'Neill and
Jonathan Bernard and Andrew Van Ginkole and all these different
guys Byron Murphy that are here to win right now
and just one fourteen games and deserve the chance for
us to give them every single piece that we can
to win right now. And so I think j Game's

(29:20):
got more least Sam Hallison back up. But I mean
if he stumbles in the in the spring, it doesn't
look good. I wouldn't like rule out them doing something
else to get themselves more insurance the position the plan
for right now, let's go JJ, and they expect JJ
looked great in the spring, but I mean this is
a team that's not This is the middle of the

(29:41):
pack team, which it's fine with, you know, just sacrificing
a seasons. The nave quarterback developed and We've seen that
in what they offered Daniel Jones and how they stepped
around the Frank start causes back and obviously how they
invest the in.

Speaker 8 (29:55):
The Aaron Rodgers thing.

Speaker 4 (29:58):
Aybe now that the draft it's taking place, I think
one of the interesting storylines that maybe got bery was
Kirk Cousins is still a part of the Atlanta Falcons
Aaron Rodgers now that the draft is over. Listen, I
was with Joe Douglas and with Jay Glazer, not the
name drop, but was with them during the draft show.
And the relevance of saying that is is that what

(30:20):
I heard from them was that one, it was not
Aaron Rodgers problem with the players in the locker room.
It wasn't even really an Aaron Rodgers problem altogether too,
And he really is dealing with some personal issues that
he needs to to deal with, whether you know, family,

(30:41):
whether him. I did not ask what those details were.
But now that the draft is over, do we continue
to wait on him as he you know, works through
what he's working through, or do we see something that
takes place sooner than later? And what is what's the
Kirk Cousins update as well?

Speaker 7 (30:59):
Yeah, I mean I put a little more thought into this,
Lavon Aron Aaron, and I just the more I think
about it, the more it makes sense that.

Speaker 8 (31:08):
They're handling the Steelers are handling it this way. And
they really operated in the draft like a win now team,
right Like, so they've what They've picked three guys who's
played a lot of football in the first four round
is who I think will be ready to contribute right away.
And Derek Harmon first round, Cale Johnson in the third round,
and then Jack Swear.

Speaker 7 (31:27):
In the fourth round. And then they spent their second
round pick to go get a veteran in DK Metcast.
So they're operating like a team that's in a win
now spot. They've got a win now type of roster
with ag players like TJ. Watt and make them fitz
Patrick there, And I mean like, look like, here's the
thing is if they signed Aaron Rodgers just say two
weeks ago, right and Aaron was still dealing with his

(31:49):
personal stuff, well, then what happens now? What happens when
we get tell gas like the whole question that's going
to be when Darren coming wise, Aaron here, why is
this done? Why is it here? Blah blah blah, blah blah.
You know, so like by not doing the deal, now
they're saving themselves all of that, Like they don't like

(32:10):
the Steelers are respecting a space. The Steelers don't have
to deal with that day are new when they show
up for the off season program like this week with
the rookies coming in when they're oka again later in
the month, and Aaron doesn't have to deal with it either,
you know, So this actually logically made some sense. Now
as for Kirk's cousins, if not both pass two checks,

(32:32):
right this whole thing, there was the guarantee for next
year pasting in March, and then there's the draft, and
so now like he knows what quarterback, the charts are
are their places, and it's I sort of wonder now
it's like, okay, did you overplay your hands? Does the
Falcons over play their hands? I mean, I just it's

(32:55):
if it's not the Steelers, like and I know the
Steelers would be a possibility if the Aaron thinks for
some reason doesn't work out, right, where does he go?
I just that's the thing, Like I don't know, Like
I think Minnesota was on the table, but Minnesota would
have required.

Speaker 8 (33:10):
Atlanta eating a lot of the money, and I don't
think that they were going to do.

Speaker 7 (33:13):
That for a variety of reasons, like a ton of
the money. And so if Minnesota's not there, Pittsburgh's not there,
if Cleveland's not, I mean, what do you do? I
mean Cleveland? I mean if if Cleveland went and got him, now,
like they have six quarterbacks in their content, you know,
so I just don't know where the landing spot is.

(33:35):
I it's just it feels to me like more and
more likely now that her cousins is almost gonna have
to wait for an injury. And it's you and I
both know those injuries don't always happen. That's not an
every year thing that there's a catastrophic injury somewhere that
cources somebody.

Speaker 4 (33:53):
Straight for a quarterback.

Speaker 1 (33:55):
Albert Breer, Thanks so much for your time, man. I
know we got to let you go because you got
to get to leave. You're having brunch with Bill and Jordan,
You're going to go over some Yeah, that's this side,
because I know you're close to the situation there. So
I just wanted to make sure we didn't take too
much of your time from did you like hacking my phone?

Speaker 7 (34:13):
Or something that shock my calendar.

Speaker 1 (34:15):
Av of all the of all the awkward interviews that
he's ever done with the media, that one takes a cake.

Speaker 4 (34:23):
Man like.

Speaker 7 (34:25):
I that's some awkward interactions with him. But you know
what the funny part about that is, though, Like, can
you think of like we've all seen people do, like
promotional tours like the media bledds for for a book before, right, Yeah,
I was thinking about this earlier this morning. Can you
guys remember one memorable thing anybody ever said in one.

Speaker 4 (34:46):
Of those.

Speaker 3 (34:48):
Not really no, so.

Speaker 7 (34:50):
They legitimately turned nothing into this. It's not like the
Today Show. Yeah, I mean like literally literally turn a
big bag, like those are a big bag of nothing.
He turned a big bag, insists.

Speaker 9 (35:10):
Yeah, it's uh with with some assistance, by the way,
a little bit of assist.

Speaker 4 (35:18):
Yeah, but in context. But in context, I don't know
that that his you know his I said, watch dog
Jonas made a thing of it. I think that's what
she does. I think she watched dogs him and he
enjoys it. I mean, they clearly broke broke the rules
on what they wanted parameters wise for the interview. Ab

(35:39):
and she bid hi.

Speaker 7 (35:42):
Hold on a second. A bar. I don't. I don't
believe that CBS, due there's a very serious outlet, would
agree to that interview at parameters on it. I just
don't buy that.

Speaker 4 (35:55):
There's no way with Bill Belichick.

Speaker 7 (35:58):
Like CBS CBS dude, no, because this is really a
book promotional thing. I mean, we're not talking about CBS
Sports here, We're talking about CBS News, right right, Yeah,
I mean, like this is a this is an outlet
that deals with like war torn countries and dictators and like,
I mean, do you think they're going to be intimidated
or pushed around by a guy with a visor and whistle?

(36:21):
Probably not right, So yeah.

Speaker 4 (36:24):
I don't think it's intimidation. I think it's more so
if I'm going to do this on my book tour
of interviews, that these are the parameters in which I
will come on and do it. I do believe that
that's feasible that Bill Belichick, of his you know, of
his influence, could actually say that's what I want going
into this interview.

Speaker 7 (36:43):
At the same time. At the same time, though, do
we know do we know that that like maybe and
maybe this is where having a good having a publicist
would have helped him do we know that that was
Astoly communicated to CBS.

Speaker 4 (36:57):
Right, they're trying to say from Bill Belichi, he's trying
to say that a lot.

Speaker 7 (37:01):
Of either you know, I don't know. I mean, I
just have a hard time believing like CBS would be.
I mean, like the way these things work generally is
like a book inner be like one of these interviews,
promotional interviews. It's like, okay, like, don't give me time
to promote my book, and I'll answer questions that maybe

(37:22):
you wouldn't answer otherwise. You know what, That is very true,
you know what I mean, I don't know. I don't know.
But again they again they turned a big bag of
nothing into something. It's really something, really something.

Speaker 1 (37:39):
It's really I mean, at least he dressed up for
the occasion. I just thought that was important.

Speaker 4 (37:43):
You know, I.

Speaker 7 (37:45):
Mean, I don't know. I'm a little.

Speaker 1 (37:46):
Out of touch.

Speaker 7 (37:47):
That might be high fashions.

Speaker 4 (37:51):
In your clothes fashion these days. That is very true.
You have another shirt on underneath the shirt that you
have holes in. It's just me ab.

sounds incredible? But still good time to find out what's lack?

Speaker 4 (39:04):
It's jobs?

Speaker 3 (39:06):
All right, the lat What do we got guys?

Speaker 10 (39:08):
We've talked a lot about jersey numbers the last few days,
we talked about Abdul Carter requesting possibly fifty six from
Lawrence Taylor.

Speaker 4 (39:14):
How about this? Hit me up about it too? Oh yeah,
what do you say? Yeah? Oh, he said. We we
captured the essence of what he was. You know why
he wanted to wear it like he wanted to continue
to honor you know what fifty six represent it to
Lawrence Taylor and to the New York Giants. So it's
like people kind of were blowing it out of proportion.

(39:35):
All these different pundits talking about He didn't say pundents,
I did, but just a lot of people talking about
it the way that they did, like almost like it
was disrespectful. He was like, it never was intended for
any type of disrespect.

Speaker 10 (39:48):
Well, go ahead, go what will you tell me if
this is disrespectful? How about the Chargers gifting number thirteen
to dj Ungalle undrafted quarterback. Obviously he's going to be
competing for the backup role in for the LA Chargers.
Number thirteen of course belonging to Keenan Allen of the Chargers.

Speaker 3 (40:06):
Well he ain't there anymore, Yeah, he ain't there.

Speaker 4 (40:08):
Anymore, but he's not retired. It isn't retired?

Speaker 3 (40:12):
Are Chargers? Are they really upset about that?

Speaker 4 (40:15):
Some people are upset.

Speaker 3 (40:17):
The few Chargers fans there are.

Speaker 1 (40:18):
You should be upset that you're renting it so far,
because we should be upset about that you could make
it work in San Diego.

Speaker 3 (40:24):
Like here's number thirteen.

Speaker 4 (40:27):
But he's just now becoming a free agent now right, Yep?
He was he was with the Bears, yep. I mean
the fact that they're giving it away so quickly. I mean,
but if it's an available number and it's not a
retired number, unless you're like looking at it and you're saying, okay, he.

Speaker 3 (40:48):
Might not even make the roster, to be honest, so.

Speaker 4 (40:51):
Yeah, I don't. I don't know. Is he a Hall
of Famer?

Speaker 10 (40:54):
He he could be. He I mean, obviously we get
to know. I think he has six Pro Bowls, ten
thousand yards.

Speaker 4 (41:02):
I don't know if he's a Hall of Famer, But
I mean I don't find that to be terribly egregious.
It's an available number and the guy isn't there anymore.

Speaker 1 (41:10):
I mean, listen, I think he's a he's a fine player.
Is he has he signed with Keenan Allen hasn't.

Speaker 3 (41:19):
Signed with anybody. No, he's a free agent right now
and he spent last year in Chicago.

Speaker 4 (41:22):
Yep, this show is signed off. Is what it is?
What you mean, it's about it. This is a Rapp
thirteen the Finished Strong, and it clearly ain't a wrap
on number thirteen, but it's a wrap on this show.
A number fifty.

Speaker 3 (41:37):
Six in New York City's Strong because
