Speaker 1 (00:00):
Now live from the Fox Sports Radio studios. Here's Pro
Bowlers LeVar airy Tet, TJ. Hushman, Sanna, and Super Bowl
champion Plexico Bus.

Speaker 2 (00:13):
All right, all right, Happy Saturday to everybody. I'm sure
there's a lot of excitement in the air. Can you
fill it? Can you taste it? Can you what football
Saturday is cooking for you? That's right, That's right. Hope

(00:39):
everybody's buckled in ready to enjoy some great football. Well,
also enjoy some great sports talk as well. Got my
guys with me, TJ. Hushman's Plexico Birds. This is up
on game. This is Fox Sports Radio. We got a
lot to get to a lot of interesting topics. Some big, big, big, historical,
major things have happened in sports during the course of

(01:01):
this week. We're going to get to the Michael Parsons Conversation.
We will talk well, playoffs and rankings. Like I think
it's important to hear TJ and plex talk about rankings.
Is it a good thing to do it early in
the year, or should guys get into the season before
we start doing rankings and seeing how we feel about teams.

(01:23):
We'll talk about all that and more, but before we
touch on this situation that took place in Dallas. You know,
I always gotta asks many'll, how y'all doing? Man, how
y'all feeling?

Speaker 3 (01:36):
Man?

Speaker 2 (01:37):
Where are you at LeVar? I'm in State College.

Speaker 4 (01:40):
Hey, well out here Claires, guys. It's about eighty three
right now, palm trees. Man, this is just what you
That's why we live out here.

Speaker 2 (01:53):
Man.

Speaker 4 (01:53):
This is great weather. I can't wait. I'm looking forward
to all these games. My son has some games today,
so it's about to be a great Labor Day weekend.

Speaker 2 (02:03):
Man. I'm looking forward to it.

Speaker 4 (02:05):
And I'm also looking forward to hopefully watching y'all boys. Man,
I'm looking forward to watching them play like they my kids.

Speaker 2 (02:14):
I don't know how much mind going to play, but
just when him come out?

Speaker 3 (02:19):
Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah yeah. I'm down in sunny
South Florida, man, obviously, you know, uh, you know, everybody's here.
And you got a chance to see my my daughter,
Connor Grace of campus of University of Miami yesterday and
do her to watch her light up and starting to

(02:39):
you know, uh, you know, reap the rewards for her
hard work. And I think she's I think it's making
them more focused and I think that's a great thing. Man.
But yeah, college football is in the air.

Speaker 2 (02:51):
Man.

Speaker 3 (02:52):
It just feels different, don't it these saturdays college football? Man?
We love it, uh you know, but uh happy to
be here. Man. It's a beautiful uh day in sunny
South Florida. So uh yeah, man, let's get to it.

Speaker 2 (03:06):
And were about to get this game on Fox? What like,
I mean, what y'all want to do? You want to
start off with talking Ohio State Texas? Uh?

Speaker 3 (03:17):
Big?

Speaker 2 (03:18):
We want to start off this Michael Parsons.

Speaker 3 (03:21):
Yeah, we'll talk about your boy.

Speaker 2 (03:23):
That's the whole hour right there. I mean, it does
have the whole hour. Uh kind of cued up to
talk about it, because it's a lot to talk about.
You talked about plex when you were talking about g
just you know, the hard work and hard work being rewarded.
Jerry Jones proved that to be maybe not so accurate.

(03:44):
I mean, the Green Bay Packers swooped in and they
proved that hard work and doing it the right way
does matter. But for Jerry Jones it didn't seem to
be the case here. I don't know, man, I feel
like maybe this turnt personal. He didn't want to do
the guarantees. He didn't want to be the one owner

(04:06):
that that was had and and had to deal with that.
David mullaghetta effect that seemingly he is spanking cats out
here with doing contracts that are legendary contracts and to
allow Michael Parsons to leave based upon what I believe

(04:29):
is purely an ego driven move. It's it's a head scratcher.
But I'm gonna turn it over to you guys and
see what you guys have to say about it. How
did you guys feel? How did you react to it
when the news came down that he was indeed being
traded to the Green Bay Packers.

Speaker 4 (04:45):
Man, if we can use I'm gonna just start using
different adjectives in terms. It was complete malpractice if you
ask me, Dan, like it really is. The NFL, this
is what is based on and this is what it's about.
And I'm putting myself in the chair of a general manager,

(05:06):
a guy that's running the team, a guy that is
proving myself, and I can draft who I want to draft.

Speaker 2 (05:12):
Our goal.

Speaker 4 (05:14):
Is to draft a guy high in the first round,
and it should be a badge of honor to pay
him because I'm drafting the right guy. He's developing the
right way. That shows that I'm doing the hell of
a job at my job. We gonna draft a guy
he's on a trajectory to be in the Hall of Fame.

(05:37):
Twelve sacks every year since he's been in the league.
In last year he missed, I believe a handful of games,
and then we trade him because we don't want to
pay him. You didn't learn from Zach Martin, Ceed Lamb,
Dak Prescott Man. I paid these guys a lot more

(05:57):
than I would have had to pay him if I
would have just paid them a little sooner. So now
you're gonna try to kick the can back another year
and have Micah play on this fifth year option. They
played that game again, that game of blink. Who's gonna blink?

Speaker 2 (06:11):
First?

Speaker 4 (06:12):
They thought Michael was gonna cave in and blink. He didn't,
And you're trading for Kenny Clark and two first round picks.
Those first round picks are going to be twenty seven
to thirty two. The Packers are going far and far
every year as long as Michael Parson's on that team
and hurt, and he's not hurt and Jordan Love is
not hurt and he's playing.

Speaker 2 (06:33):
They're going.

Speaker 4 (06:34):
So you gave up Michaeh Parsons, a generational on his
way to the Hall of Fame pass rusher for Kenny
Clark in two late first round picks. What could you
have gotten if you just opened up the bidding prior
to the draft, somebody that could help them. Oh, we're

(06:54):
building for the future. Michael Parsons is the future. He's
twenty six years old. He are you gas?

Speaker 2 (07:05):
That's called rage baiting. That's a rage baiting statement.

Speaker 4 (07:09):
I just don't understand. They say quarterback is the most
important position on the field. The next most important position
is one of two guys, the receiver or the guy
that can get to the quarterback, and you trade this guy.
I just don't understand. But I will say this. I

(07:29):
will say this, and I could be wrong with Michaeh.
Parsons is our age. He's gonna wish he was a
career Cowboy.

Speaker 2 (07:38):
Hmm.

Speaker 4 (07:39):
I will say that we don't, we don't look at
we don't look and think about those things when we're
in it.

Speaker 2 (07:46):
Why you say that, Why do you think that?

Speaker 4 (07:47):
Because I just look at the former Cowboys and it's
really two of them. Look Mike Irvin ems smith Man,
you will think they still play for the Cowboys. The
way they're around the Cowboys, the way Jerry Jones, Tree.

Speaker 2 (07:59):
Still and Michael just said, I.

Speaker 4 (08:02):
Don't see any other team treat their players that way.
And so I believe when he's our age because the
Packers don't have an owner, I just feel like, yeah,
you got your money. He'll sit back and reflect and
it's not gonna be regret. It's just gonna be like

(08:22):
I wish I could have played my because that's special.
The way Mike Irving can kind of move around the
Cowboys like he's still a player.

Speaker 2 (08:31):
That doesn't happen everywhere.

Speaker 4 (08:33):
It doesn't. He could do that here is that's different.
That's different. It's different because that's a college program. It's
just a different vibe and feel.

Speaker 2 (08:45):
You get a lot. I get everything done in my
life that I get done because I'm a Penn State
in any line, not because I was Watchington. I mean,
but you love your school, Oh my god, God, you
love I tell community loves they love us. You want
to know why? Like, bro, you been around me, y'all
know me Like I'm a I'm I'm a loyal dude,
Like I'm a if I love you, I love you

(09:06):
type of dude. And I'm gonna give you all like that.
But that comes with a price, you know what I mean.
Like I'm not an easy person. That comes with a price.
So I'm just saying, the way this community loves on us,
it's we all have the opportunity and the ability to
be able to be embraced by it the way I am.
I just lean into it because I'm just loyal that way.

(09:28):
Like we bang together and we've been through some ass,
you know, y'all, y'all remember them dark age times, you
know the stuff that you know and stuff like that.
We had to stick together, you know what i mean,
people's coming forward. We had to stick together. We just
got closer. I'm saying, they love Michael Parsons, they love
our players like that. Here, I'm not I'm not going
down that lane. I'm not going I'm not I'm not

(09:48):
getting carried away with that as as a player, as
a player that's formally you know of the game sitting there, like, man,
I wish I could go back to Dallas and this
that and the I'm coming back to State College. I
don't even. I don't even I don't even acknowledge my
pro career. So I don't he got forty seven reasons

(10:08):
yearly to remember why it didn't even matter to have
that relationship.

Speaker 4 (10:13):
I'm sorry, but that's I know you want to go.
You said you don't acknowledge your pro career. Your pro
career was somewhat cut short because of the injuries.

Speaker 2 (10:22):
Micah is on his way to the Hall of Fame.

Speaker 4 (10:26):
True, and so when you say that, it's Mike back
to state college, but he can go back to his
professional team and they're gonna treat him like he is
a mother.

Speaker 2 (10:36):
And because he's on his way for the exposure that
guys get these days, that's way different than what we
had when we were playing. Though, Like, yeah, if I
was on the way to a Hall of Fame career
with things have been different. Maybe I don't know I
was on the way to a Hall of Fame career.
I mean I wasn't doing bad. I had three consecutive
Pro Bowls, I was all pro, but but it didn't

(10:59):
feel the same. And this is one of them confirmation moments,
like college is pure and I mean maybe the NIL
may change that and it may become something different. But
the pros is business man. They treat it like business,
and it's sad because they forced the fans to treat
it like business as well. Michael Parsons didn't want to

(11:21):
leave Dallas. Michael Parsons should be in a situation where
he had to work through what we're talking about right now,
whether he finished as a Dallas Cowboy or had to
go somewhere else. Jerry Jones did that. Jerry Jones made
that possible because he didn't want to pay that man
what he was worth getting in the market that we're

(11:41):
in right now. I don't I'm not going to sit
here and say, dang, like Michael, you would have been
better off because of the way Jerry Jones treats his
players and stuff like that, if you had stayed with
the Dallas Cowboys. He's cool with the dude from Fanatics.
What dude's name, what's his name? What Mike Rubin? He

(12:02):
dude is ahead of Bleacher Report, iroon what is the
iron mask or iron helmet whatever. Michael Parsons is utilizing
his celebrity, he's utilizing his intelligence, and he's doing some
really really strategically sound things in building proper relationships with

(12:24):
the fame and the stardom that he's been able to create.
Dallas served its purpose. If you ain't want to pay
him and you want to let him go to another
which a legendary program by the way, if you want
to let him go, Jerry Jones got to live with
the fact that Michael Parsons isn't a Dallas cowboy anymore.
Michael Parsons shouldn't have the pressure of trying to figure

(12:44):
out if that was a bad move or if I
regret not being a cowboy for the rest of my career.
Jerry Jones made that idiotic decision to make that a reality,
and I'm sorry. I just had to get that off
my god damn chests. You know what I mean? Hey, Plex,
you did not talk this segment. Here's what we're gonna do.
We're gonna take a break because I want to give
you your your opportunity to weigh in because there's a

(13:06):
lot of meat on this bone. And we got sound
from the man who made this decision and the head coach.
I actually got a theory on why they did this.
But I want to hear what PLEXI know, say, Oh, dang, well,
we won't have a whole lot more to talk about
as this show goes on. As you can see, it's

(13:28):
a little bit of heat in the room as you
understanding why that would be. But uh yeah, let's let's
take a quick break. We're gonna get plex's take on it.
We're gonna hear Jerry Jones, We're gonna hear the head
coach Brian Schottenheimer as well. This is up all game,

Before we went to the break, we were listening to
what TJ had to say. I was weighing in on

(17:34):
it as well. Plex, how do you feel about it? Man?
What's your on on what took place with this Michael Parsons,
Jerry Jones deal that took you know what happened man?

Speaker 3 (17:47):
Well, I literally heard the news man. It was just
so much to unpack, and I was just saying to
myself from my organizational standpoint. I'm looking at this and
I'm saying to myself movies on the show a couple
of weeks ago, when I said to y'all, I said,
there's a great possibility that Michael Parsons has played his
last game as a Dallas Cowboy because it never should

(18:10):
have went this far. And I said it was personal pride,
and it was personal because Jerry Jones had never had
an encounter with the player of Michael Parson's intelligence, and
he knows exactly is what the numbers are and knows
exactly what he should be paid. And Jerry Jones is

(18:30):
basically saying, listen, I know what you're worth, but you're
not going to tell me when to pay you and
what to pay you. So I kind of think that
when that whole beef was going back and forth, Jerry
Jones was not going to give Michael Parsons the personal
gratification in front of the world to basically say I won.

(18:54):
So that's how this whole thing ended up with him
going to Green Bay because Michael Parsons just sposed to
be a cornerstone of your franchise. He's never supposed to
leave the Dallas Cowboys. And now he ends up in
Green Bay and it changes the division for everybody defensively.

(19:14):
So if you're Dallas Cowboys, you're ranked twenty ninth in
the NFL and rush defense with the Michael Parsons, what
do you think you're going to be this year? And
they're going to open up against Philadelphia and Will Michael
Parsons was playing that the Philadelphia Eagles are going to
run the ball to the right side and they're gonna
run it down their throat just to prove a point.
And you look at Michael Parsons. He says he's going

(19:34):
to wear number one in Green Bay, and I believe
it's for a reason. He's going to show Jerry Jones
in the world that he is the best defensive player
or defensive end you know in this league. And it
is if you're Brian, If you're Brian Shotenhaim and you're
going into this season and now that you realizing that

(19:56):
you don't have a Michael Parsons, it changes so many things.
The NFC. Now, the NFC North has gotten that much
more competitive just because now you have a ro Seawan Gary,
Now you have a Michael Parsons. Bookends and if Jordan
Love can get to a place where it was being

(20:17):
the next great young quarterback. The green Bay Packers are contenders.
I really believe that. And there were two trades in
NFL history that never should have happened with the green
Bay Packers. The late great Reggie White went to Green Bay.
What did he do? He won a championship. My Hall

(20:38):
of Fame boy, Charles Woodson left the Oakland Raiders went
to green Bay. What did he do? He won a championship.
And it kind of has that kind of feel to
it that if Green Bay can and can have one
of these dominant defense I think they have. They have

(20:59):
the younger wide receiver Cord and all the football, and
they can get Jordan Love to go out there and
to pay a great brand of football, the Green Bay
Packers might be one of the sleeper teams in the NFC.
Moving forward, now that Michael Parsons is a part of
his football.

Speaker 2 (21:19):
Team, well, here's what Jerry Jones. He had a few
things to say about Michael Michael Parsons and right, and
there's another respectful thing. Here's a take a listen to
some of what Jerry Jones had to say about the
whole situation gives us.

Speaker 7 (21:40):
Four first round picks over the next two years. We
not only do that, nothing says we can't use some
of those specs right now to go get somebody right now.
Don't rule that out. This gives us a better chance
to be a better team than we have been the

(22:01):
last few several years since Michael has been here. Not
any negative on Michaeh, but we're trying to get better.
We're trying to shop the run, stay in the hunt.

Speaker 2 (22:13):
Exactly what the hell is that man talking about? Bro Man,
I think that there.

Speaker 3 (22:17):
Are some people in this world that when they speak,
I think they believe that everything that they say people
really believe. Because there's no way that Jared Jones can
sit there for that microphone and lose one of the
best young players in the world. And now you're saying
we're getting better as a football team.

Speaker 2 (22:37):
We're on the road.

Speaker 3 (22:39):
No you're not. I don't care who you get in
the draft for the next couple of years. Well, but
the case may be I can almost guarantee you that
will not be one player defensively that will be better
than Michael Parsons going to the Dallas Cowboys. And now
that he's in Green Bay. Y'all highly doubt it.

Speaker 2 (22:58):
Do y'all realize that my Parsons is the most elite
player on Dallas's was the most elite player on Dallas's team,
and you paid Dak Prescott never been the most elite
quarterback at his position, maybe not even top three at
his position. You pay CD Lamb very well, like doing

(23:24):
very well as a receiver, not the most elite receiver,
has never been considered the most elite receiver at his position,
gets a deal. Michael Parsons, you can you.

Speaker 3 (23:36):
Can't really say that because he led the league in
receptions and I believe it was touchdowns.

Speaker 2 (23:42):
He's not the most elite receiver in the league. See
if you say most elite, see most elite receivers in
the league in the league, it's ceedee Lamb's name coming
out your mouth in the first two to three players. No, No,

(24:03):
I mean, I'm going justin Jefferson the kid and Jefferson however,
and we don't need to go any further than that,
because the point I'm making is you can't go from
one to two with Michael Parsons in the conversation. Not
one player use TJ. Watt. You use Trey Hendrickson, which
we could talk about how they screwed him. TJ.

Speaker 4 (24:26):
Watt, Miles Garrett, Michael Parson, Miles Garrett. Those three guys
are the best pass rushers in the league, and then
it's everybody else.

Speaker 2 (24:33):
They're the best defenders in the league, and then there's
everybody else. Now, I know Pat got Defensive Player of
the Year and all that stuff, and that's great. I
think that's a wonderful thing that a defensive back got
the reward. But we're talking about dominance of a player,
like when Aaron Donald was was playing. We're talking about
a guy that's on the level what Aaron Donald was doing.

(24:54):
We couldn't even you. You don't even compare Aaron Donald
to a Reggie White or l you know who. You
compare a reguite in an LT two Michael Parsons. Michael Parsons.
And that's not an opinion, that's just factual on what
that man has. Production has been since he's been in
the league. So there is a very very difficult conversation here,

(25:19):
and that difficult conversation here is moving forward, how do
you justify what accomplishment in production? They say this is
a totally discriminate league. They discriminate on everything from the
time you get to the combine. They discriminate on your height,
They discriminate on your weight. They discriminate on how fast

(25:39):
you are, how strong you are, what you know on
the grease board, how do you interview, where you come from.
They discriminate on everything. And it is a production profession.
He has checked off every single box, and yet this
was the end or old. That's a problem, LeVar.

Speaker 4 (26:02):
He's trying to he Jerry Jones, we have four first
round picks over the next two years. Well, I hope
you can draft one of those guys that can be
even comparable to Michaeh Parsons.

Speaker 2 (26:12):
That's what people. It doesn't happen, boy, you I think
that's the point I'm trying to make.

Speaker 4 (26:17):
That doesn't happen because you drafted Mizi Smith and you
thought he was going to be the run stopper you
needed in the first round.

Speaker 2 (26:25):
How did that turn out? There's no way you can
as good as Michaeh was coming out of college. And
I know because I help with the branding of who
Michael Parsons is. That was a that was a project
thank you Michah for for.

Speaker 4 (26:42):
Being who you are. LeVar, oh LaVar. Let me let
me ask you in Plexico. This where y'all got the
Cowboys finishing in the division?

Speaker 2 (26:50):
Bro, I don't think they might.

Speaker 3 (26:52):
They might be the worst team in the division that you.

Speaker 4 (26:53):
Say, Mike, they are, they are, they will be in
the basements.

Speaker 2 (26:58):
I agree. I believe they finished last in the division.
The Giants they have them at what seven wins, seven
and a half wins this year. I don't think they
get seven wins either. I don't think they get seven wins.
I don't. I do not, I do not. And how
can you have any type unless you're Dak Prescott, which
the weight of the world is on his shoulder because

(27:19):
the jury then came back in the courtroom on Dak
Prescott and they're gonna give a verdict this year. They
gonna give a verdict. He's got that weight on him.
You got CD lamb. But what else do you have? Yeah,
you ain't lying. What else do you have going on
with this team other than Jarry Jones stealing all of
the headlines?

Speaker 3 (27:37):
And the crazy thing is you listen to what Jared
Jones says. He said, we're trying to get better and
we're trying to stop the run on defense. Well, you're
at the bottom tier of the NFL with the Michael Parsons,
So how do you expect to be better defensively rushing
the pastel or stopping a run without a Michael Parsons

(28:01):
He asked.

Speaker 2 (28:01):
To be It doesn't make not one bit of sense.
But hey, you know the head coach, he had this
to say, Like Brian Schottheimer had a few words. Let's
take a listen to what Brian Schottenheimer had to say.

Speaker 8 (28:15):
At the end of the day, it was U nanisis
is not something we came about. It wasn't something where
it was like an overnight thing. We just we had
talked about it. And at the end of the day,
I think when you look at a football team, when
you can potentially add up to four or five players
and things like that, uh, it gives you the ability
to do some things. We were certainly excited about the

(28:35):
addition of Kenny Clark, but nothing's changed. My goals haven't changed,
Our team goals haven't changed. I hit the players on
that today after I talked about, you know, just the
tough couple of days you know for all the guys,
and uh.

Speaker 2 (28:48):
It doesn't change.

Speaker 8 (28:49):
You know, the standard is the standard.

Speaker 2 (28:52):
They set him up, bunch of balogney. They set him.
That's exactly what it is. Brian Shottenheimer has been set
up to take the ball. Can I throw this out
at y'all? Can I throw this out at y'all? And
and and and we can possibly take this into the
next segment. I asked Brady Quinn and Jonas Knox this

(29:13):
during the week, Archie Manning, this is going to be
one of the richest drafts in quarterbacks since probably when
who was it, uh, when like Bryce Young and all
of them came out right, it's going to be it
was it was the Joe Burrow Joe Burrow. Yeah, yeah,
just it's like that on that let and they're deeming

(29:40):
and they're anointing arch Manning as the next coming of
a Manning and then or a Brady like he's that
he's on that level. And then they're they're playing right now,
so we'll see what that's all about. But is there
a chance this man is tanking the season and Brian
Schottenheimer is is in He's in the crosshres of we're

(30:03):
gonna get the coach we want, and we're gonna get
the player that we want, all in a matter in
a span of two to three years to build a
championship team for the future. Is there a possibility that
this man just told everybody that he's punting on the
season by getting rid of Michael Parsons. It could have
been it could have been said, not no shade towards

(30:24):
Brian Schottenheimer, Like I said, I have nothing but respect
for b Shot, but he would he gets the job
the way he gets the job. And it just seemed
curious that if you were gonna go with Brian Schottenheimer,
why would you not just stay with Mike McCarthy until
you figure out, Uh, if that's what you truly, if

(30:45):
this is truly what you wanted to do, versus letting
a contract run out and oh yeah, we're just gonna
go with Brian Schottenheimer. Seems like he's a sacrificial lamb.
It seems like what Jerry Jones said when he hired
Brian Schottenheimer was bad. I'm about to tank. Now you
get rid of Michael Parsons. You don't pay that money,

(31:06):
and he's a rookie it's coming off a rookie contract.
You ain't saving no crazy dollars by doing that. But
you get rid of Michael Parsons. Why would you ever,
in your right in mind get rid of a player
or that caliber and he's in his rookie contract. You
gotta be tanking.

Speaker 4 (31:24):
Jerry Jones is a great businessman, and they say you
never let your feelings make decisions for you. He let
his fell. He was in his feelings when he did this.
He was upset that Michael Parsons demanded the trade. He
was upset that he felt he had a deal with
Michael Parsons and that deal was renigged on because my

(31:47):
representation isn't a part of this deal.

Speaker 2 (31:50):
And you don't like that.

Speaker 4 (31:52):
You're trying to take advantage of him and he's not
allowing you to. You don't like that because you've always
gotten your way to me being if you're Arch Manny,
do you want to play for the Cowboys?

Speaker 2 (32:04):
No?

Speaker 4 (32:05):
No, you don't. If the Mannings Peyton Manning stayed four
years of college. Eli Manning stayed four years of college.
This is Arch Manning's first year starting. They're not hurting financially.
I don't believe Arch Manning comes out and if the
Cowboys have the first pick in your Arch Manning, why

(32:29):
would you want to play for the Dallas Cowboys. I
was a Cowboy fan growing up. I would fight dudes
over the Cowboys like it was that crazy. I'm not
a Cowboy fan anymore because I played in the league.
I don't know why my mind is that. I'm just
I'm not. I don't dislike them. But if you're a
player coming out in your Arch Manning, why would you

(32:50):
want to play for the Cowboys?

Speaker 2 (32:53):
Why?

Speaker 4 (32:55):
You know, as a quarterback, because when you're a Manning,
you want to win and heat for Super Bowls. The
Cowboys have shown they can't do it and they aren't
willing to do what it takes to do it.

Speaker 2 (33:10):
Here's what we're gonna do. We're gonna take a quick break.
We're gonna get a we're gonna get an update from
Isaac Low and cron uh. Maybe he could give us
some breaking news on why this could could happen and
what the hell goes on from here and and all
that good stuff. But then we're gonna come back and
we're gonna wrap this. We're going maybe we might even
go in the second hour with it. I don't know.
This is just one of the most insanely wild, ridiculous

(33:35):
happenings that that probably has ever happened in the National
Football League. But with that being said, let's get I
low on the update what you got.

Speaker 9 (33:42):
I'd be glad. I'd be glad to help because I
do have the answer to this whole situation, But first
Jerry Jones would have to write me a great, big check,
So instead, I'll just stick to what's going.

Speaker 1 (33:54):
On right now at the Horseshoe.

Speaker 9 (33:56):
Number one Texas and third ranked Ohio State are scoreless
with four and a half minutes remaining in the first quarter.
Both teams have already gone for to combine three times.
On fourth down. Opening possession, Texas went forward on fourth
and inches from their thirty four yard line, Arch Manning
picked it up on a quarterback sneak. The Longhorns then
had a fourth and two from the Ohio State forty

(34:16):
three for the Buckeyes stopped Texas running back CJ. Baxter
short of the first down. Ohio State, on its first possession,
went forward on a fourth down and one at the
Texas forty nine, but Julian Sayans passed to tight end
Max Clair was incomplete. Texas then went three and out.
Ohio State right now, which tikover at its eight yard line,
has a third down and eleven yards to go from

(34:39):
its twenty five yard line, no score, just under four
minutes left to play in the first quarter. In Columbus
Number twenty four, Tennessee up ten to nothing over Syracuse
with four forty three left to play in the first
quarter on a field goal and a two yard touchdown
run by Peyton Lewis. In Major League Baseball, the Atlanta
Braves announced today that they've reinstated nash League Cy Young

(35:00):
Award winner Chris Saale from the sixty day injured list.
He's expected to start tonight against the Phillies NFL, the
Carolina Panthers today resigned receiver Hunter Renfro to their active roster.

Speaker 2 (35:10):
Guys, all yours, I appreciate that, mister loewen Kron. That
was an excellent update that you gave us, and some
really really gripping breaking news. There a lot of great
games going on right now. Listen, we're gonna take a
quick breaking On the other side of the break, we're
gonna continue to talk this trade. Then maybe we'll wrap
it up for the first hour and then we'll talk

(35:31):
some college football, get away from the depression of what
Jerry Jones has caused with his actions as irresponsible actions,
but as TJ said, he is a great business man.
So it'll be interesting to watch out all plays out
you're listening the up on game, it is TJ. Hitchman, Dada,
It's Plexico Burst, it's LeVar Arrington and this is Fox

(37:40):
then do it. All right, all right, welcome back into
the show. This is Up on Game. We're quickly approaching
the end of hour one, so make sure you stay
down in for hour two. Got a lot to talk to.
We've been talking Dallas, Michael Parsons, Jerry Jones all hour one.

(38:00):
But you know, there are other things going on. Ohio
State is playing there hosting Texas in Columbus right now.
Tennessee's playing against Syracuse. That's an interesting game. Tennessee looking
like well they've doing okay with a new quarterback at
the helm. So and we'll see for what it's worth

(38:22):
what UCLA does a little bit later on Fellas. All right,
let's let's let's put a bow on this. Let's let's
wrap this up. Uh, you know it could be coming
across as a pal on Jerry Jones' first hour of
Up on Game. You know, our show is all about
positivity and solutions and different things like that. Let's end

(38:42):
it on a positive note. What are the positives that
could possibly take be taken away from what Jerry Jones
has done, and obviously, what do we see at the
positives for Michael Parsons going to Green Bay.

Speaker 4 (38:56):
The positive can be one of those four first round
draft picks in the next two years. One of those
guys can be Michael Parsons. Like, if that isn't the case,
then what you've done is crazy, Like what you've done
is completely wrong. What you've done is let your feelings

(39:20):
make a decision that you know you shouldn't have made.
And for Michael Parsons, you just got to be you.
If you're you, you're gonna get a minimum of twelve sacks.
That's the floor for Parsons. I believe he's gonna have
a great season. I'm talking fifteen to twenty sacks. That's

(39:40):
what I believe he's gonna do because he's on the mission.
He's on the mission to prove that he should have
been given the contract he wanted and he's gonna prove
the Green Bay Packers rather but more importantly, he's gonna
prove himself right. But to me, if you can't draft
for Michaeh. Parsons like player and you're the Cowboys, it's
a failure.

Speaker 3 (40:01):
You know what? Uh? I think the outlook for the
Dallas Cowboys. You know, going into this season, the most
positive thing that you can hope for defensively is that
you move up one or two slots from twenty ninth
to maybe twenty eight for twenty seven defensively, and that's
pretty much the only positive. You can try to be

(40:24):
the third best team in the division and not finished last.
So I think those are the positive things that you
can look for. But if you're Michael Parsons, the positive
of this is that guess what you get to play
the Dallas Cowboys on Week four on Sunday Night Football four, Yes,
you did, and in Texas. I think that that's going

(40:45):
to be fantastic to watch this man just probably just
destroy who they.

Speaker 2 (40:52):
Put in front of him.

Speaker 3 (40:53):
And for the Green Bay defense, they were already a
top ten defense. Now I think they go there go
to a top five. They're playing in the best division
in all of football. People forget the Green Bay Packers
with what eleven and six last year? The line fifteen
and two in Minnesota's fourteen and three. So this division
I think is getting better. It's the best division of football,

(41:14):
and it just might be that the green Bay Packers
may win this division and getting to the playoffs, So
I think that's the positive for him moving forward. He's
wearing number one to send a message not only to
Jerry Jones, but the rest of the league that y'all
just sit back and watch the show, and I'm gonna

(41:35):
show y'all guys while I'm the best defensive end or
rush in in all of football.

Speaker 2 (41:42):
You know. For me, I feel like the win for
Jerry Jones would be if he just came out and
admitted that I didn't want to pay the guaranteed money
that he was asking for. I didn't want to pay
it under the circumstances that were seemingly felt dictated to me.

(42:07):
I think that would be a win, because I almost
feel as though he loses all credibility after a decision
is egregious as this one. I don't see how you
can justify it, And to put a coach in a
position where he has to try to justify it, I
don't feel like that's positive to say my goals haven't changed.

(42:30):
It doesn't seem right. It doesn't seem to make sense.
Your goals have to change when you lose a player
of Michaeh Parsons caliber. So I don't know how it
all ends, and I don't know how it all plays out.
I know that Green Bay is a competitor and we'll
see if they're able to go far this season. And
Mike is happy forty seven reasons every forty seven million

(42:50):
reasons every year to be happy. But hey, we'll see
how it all plays out. Our two is coming at you,
and we're going to shift gears and talk college football.
We'll be right back Fox Sports Radio,
