Speaker 1 (00:01):
Kyler Murray gets an extension with the Cardinals. My man
James J. J. Jackson a straight Facts podcast. He's gonna
get on your head. The Madden Gang ratings, Oh, Patriots,
they'll have an official offense. Well, they won't have an
official offense or defense coordinator. I can't wait to hear
(00:21):
what the fellows have to say about that. Alabama they
win the SEC media poll for pick to win the conference.
All right, and all that more coming up at you here.
It comes up on Game. Baby, you want NFL experience,
(00:41):
then this is the show for you. This is up
on Game with Labarreri, Intent, t J. Hush Benzana and
Plaxico Burres. Did you hear that, LaVar Arrington, t J
Hodgmensanta Plexico burs. It's a show with three of the
best to ever do it on and off the field.
(01:02):
And now here's Pro bowlers LaVar Arrington, t J. Houshman,
Sanna and Super Bowl champion Plexico Furus. All right, it
is up on Game. That is t J. Hushman's outa
Plexico first, I'm LaVar Arrington. Happy Saturday to everybody. All right,
(01:23):
if you want to check us out on the tweetur
go to LaVar Arrington at T Day, or excuse me
at Who's eighty four at Plexico first and at Fox
Sports Radio if you want to listen live, tell a
friend Fox Sports Radio dot Com, the I Heart Radio
app or Serious x M eighty three Fellas a lot
(01:47):
of things have happened in the world of sports this week.
We are closer, ever closer to potball season. Plus basically
here now people are checking in for training camp. How
y'all feeling. Are you excited? Finally we got some some
some sport. Well, I mean, I want to say find
there's always sports going on, but the sport that matters,
obviously is football to most of us. And well, football
(02:09):
seasons there. How y'all feeling, and I'm feeling good. I
can't complain, man, complain right, Okay, I feel great. Man.
Footballs around the corner, right around the corner. Training campcl
starting this week. It's gonna be some there, some interesting
you know stories going into the season. And you know,
(02:30):
a Super Bowl champion will be crowned in the next
ten months, okay, okay, and I'll probably pick that one
as well before and I'll probably pick before. Okay, it's man,
Wait wait, wait, wait, wait, hold hold on the last
two seasons, yours truly has picked the super Bowl winner
(02:52):
before the season started. I can't the last two seasons
and its document in the South. There ain't like I
just said it publicly. I can't hate on it. I
can't hate on it. You guys, Is this like a
receiver thing where receivers are real smooth and but y'all
(03:13):
real like passive aggressive like y'all y'all like want that beef,
but y'all kind of like cool with it. Like can
you guys explain that to me, because I'd be like,
I'll be on tent like I don't know. Maybe it's
because I gotta come downhill and I gotta hit the
lineman in his mouth, and then I gotta try to
get off the block, and then I got to try
to make the tackle or any other giving play. I
gotta set up, and I gotta try to take on
(03:35):
t J. Hutchman's ode. I gotta try to cover Plexico birth.
I gotta do all of these things, so I'll be
feeling like I'm emotionally charged up and be on tent
like I get on get on the air, and then
I'll be chopping it up and y'all, y'all come in.
It's like, yeah, I'm good today. T J is good. No,
you gotta you gotta wait till the top come and
(03:55):
then and then the energy comes, stretches feeling good today,
food stretches tall. The air is better up here than
it is down there. Dang the smooth Daddy's all right,
smooth daddy as well. Let's talk about smooth, hey, Ryan,
give us the details of how smooth Kyla Murray's bank
(04:16):
account feels right now. Oh it is, uh, it is
feeling very smooth. It is a huge contract, of course,
it's a just a million dollars higher than than Deshaun Watson's.
Let me get you the exact number here. I believe
it's a five year, two thirty one million dollars cention
with with the Arizona Cardinals. He's twenty four years old.
(04:36):
And yeah, the the Cardinals that finally locked down their
former number one overall pick all right, thank you, thank you, Burch.
I appreciate that. And shots out the burst the team
in the back that that does such an amazing job.
We got aya with Sam on the ones and the
two's Obviously, we got the legend himself, I Low Isaac
Lowing Kron. You know what I mean. We got all
of the gray guys here. Voltron is complete, fellas, But
(05:00):
it's not guaranteed. Now that's that's not all guaranteed. It's
not more guarantees than Deshaun Watson. But yet it's one
million dollars more. Do you feel like Kyler Murray one
or every single time we have to say, but he
did not get a more guaranteed on his contract than
Deshaun Watson. Is it a loss? Is it a win?
(05:24):
What's y'all's feeling on it? It's Colin, it's Kyla Mura
talking quarter back. No, okay, you know we talked about this.
We talked about this last week. So it's a win. No, no, no,
Kyler Murray. Kyler Murray wants for himself personally. He won.
(05:45):
And let's go back to when Kyler Murray was drafted.
He was drafted in football and baseball, first round, first
player ever in history. But this is the thing, he
do you know how to win for Kyler Murray because
if he was at baseball, he would hopefully me and
the major's not the minors and be hoping that one
(06:08):
day I can sign this type of contract. Oh, he
just signed that type of contract in the National Football League.
I said it at the time, very very smart to
go to football. Football is out pacing baseball and salaries.
Uh and his shows. But this is what I don't like.
Deshaun Watson has a ton of allegations. He has this
(06:29):
owners shoulder, this, he's looking back at this, he has
this in front of him, and he can get a
contract that's fully guaranteed. The quarterbacks in the National Football
League have more power than ever, more power than ever,
and you get less guaranteed money than Deshaun Watson. That
(06:51):
makes absolutely no sense to me. Deshaun Watson has a
ton of allegations and getting less guaranteed money then Deshaun Watson.
He ain't. I don't, I don't. I don't understand that
part of it. But for Kyler Murray, this is a
great deal for him considering had he gone and play baseball.
(07:14):
I don't believe he would have this type of contract
at this time because he would be a free agent
for another few years at the best. But Tea and
we were talking about contracts versus Deshaun Watson, and Colin Murray.
I believe that the Browns gave Deshaun Watson that contract
based off of playing football, not based off what he
(07:37):
has going on legally. And if you put those two
guys on a scale, then we already know if Deshaun
Watson is not going through what he's going through, who's
the more who who's the premier quarterback of the two?
So I don't think that they gave him gave him
that two thirty million illars guaranteed based off of the allegation.
(07:59):
They gave it based off of being a quarterback of
the team. And you know, I heard about this congret
a couple of days ago. What I'm saying to myself,
I'm what are these quarterbacks and these players and these
organizations giving these players, these quarterbacks based based off of Uh,
you're talking about this guy's four million dollar shot of
Aaron Rodgers and annual salary at forty six million? Are
(08:23):
we giving contracts based off of potential or what well,
what they have accomplished or what they're accomplishing. That is
what's confusing to me. And we just had this this
conversation last week. We don't believe he's a top ten quarterback.
But he's being paid as one of the top three
(08:44):
quarterbacks in football, which is I don't understand. It sets
the stage for these you know, for Justin Herbert and
Joe Burrow, they all sit track. Look, they are sitting back.
Joe is smoking a cigarette somewhere right now by the
(09:05):
poor cigar like he was doing the National championship. Is
setting a bad president get for these, for these guys
coming behind, get the coming behind him, who are actually
elite level quarterbacks. It is setting a bad president going forward.
But for him, you listen, he's in the right place
(09:26):
at the right time. This man is making more money
in one year than I made in my whole five
years playing with playing with the Stellers, and that is
where the game is going. But for him to receive
this contract, the guys that are coming after him, man,
old man, it is going to be something special to
(09:46):
watch down the road. Well, second hour, we'll talk about
Lamar Jackson. That should be an interesting conversation because he
seemingly is the next one up to get a contract.
And if you recall, uh, Steve A. Shotti, the owner
of the Baltimore Raven, felt horribly bad and had some
strong comments about the contract that was awarded to Deshaun Watson.
(10:07):
Now I'll say this and and and you know, response
to the Deshaun Watson situation, I fully want hundred to
agree with both of you. You guys are actually both correct.
They did award him that that contract based off of
what he's playing. But I also agree with t J.
How are you going to award him for on the
field things if if things are not clear clearly defined
(10:30):
off of them, you know, it's it's like you're making
a guaranteed investment on someone who could possibly not be
available to you. And even if it's just for one
single year, if it's one single season, I don't think
they knew to that extent though I was gonna be
(10:51):
last week what I say, what I thought it would be,
Remember you recall I don't I don't think the Browns
that it was gonna be this extensive. Uh, with all
the allegations, with all the allegations that have come forward,
I would they said that they did that due diligence,
They did their research, But with everything that has happened
(11:11):
over the last month, I don't think that they foresaw
all of these things the surface. I don't believe that
if if those all those allegations were present at the
time of him getting that contract, I don't believe that
the brains don't You don't think there was enough he
had he had there had to be allegations. You have
(11:34):
to remember that when he signed his contract, all those
charges were dismissed by by two grand juries in the
state of Texas. They they were dismissed, so they probably
thought that everything was over. He still had twenty several
cases sivil, civil civil. You cannot be suspended in the
NFL for civil could be anything but but here, but here.
(11:57):
Let's let's revisit what you're saying. When when the criminal
charges were not you know, prosecuted or taking the court,
that doesn't mean that the legal the criminal aspects of
it are over. They're not over. He could there could
have been something that surfaced in these civil suits, like
more people coming to the table like they have, that
(12:18):
could have actually led to a criminal investigation being launched, reopened,
and there could have been uh criminal to the extent
is what I'm saying. Hey, I mean, man, hey, All
I'm saying is he got two million guaranteed and Kyler
Murray got technically a hunter. They say it's one sixty bro.
(12:42):
I just I don't understand it. Like when a quarterback
sets the precedent, meaning Deshaun Watson and his representatives, they
set the precedent. We're getting these contracts guaranteed. The next
guy gotta fall follow one and follow suit, and for
the next guy behind, it's always the next guy up.
It is always. When you sign a fully got guaranteed contract,
(13:06):
that money has to go on extra scrow. By this
amount of time, we don't have that type of money
to put in that scrow. Guess what, you know what
we can do. I got you. Let's just shorten linted
this contract then, and then let's make it a three
year deal. We don't have to go five years. That's
what you're just short the contract in three years. Looking
at this from what Arizona Cardinal standpoint, I mean, he's young,
(13:29):
he's going into his fourth season and there's a lot
of you know, there's a lot of ceiling for him
to reach, and it's potential. I think that's what you're
talking about. That's that's the key right there. But but
where did the Arizona Cardinals go from from here? If
they don't resign. Colin Murge, Well, the idea of it
is is that you go back to the toilet the ball.
(13:51):
They go back to the ball. That's that's true. You
asked what what why they pay that money. It's because
they're a franchise. If a franchise consider is the guy
they have as a franchise quarterback, then he's the next
guy up, whether he's achieved at that level or not.
If they view your if I view my quarterback on
this team as a franchise guy, that's what qualifies you
(14:12):
as the next guy up. I would say that that's
the easiest way of putting it, so that let's be honest,
why wouldn't he be your franchise guy. Yeah, well there
are a lot of courts. I mean, nobody's looking at
Zack Zack Wilson as the franchise guy in New York.
He's not going to be the next guy up. There's
a place they may, they may, they may, but they
(14:34):
may not. There there's no there's no correlation to him
being the next guy up in terms of like a
Joe Burrow or even now, I hate to say this,
and I hate to do this to you, even your boy,
Trevor Lawrence. He is not in position to be the
next guy up yet, based upon what he's done so far,
he will be well, we'll have to wait and see. Well,
(14:57):
we'll have to wait and see. But he he hasn't
position himself to be the next guy yet. And that dude,
that dude, Man, if y'all get around this guy, yeah
would y'all would feel hot, y'all hang out, hang out
with him. We can go to the morning you just
watching whatever we want. I'm gonna still have to wait,
(15:18):
but until he put those results that you were speaking of,
you see, then we can come and support us. Everything's
gonna say, you're right, Yeah, you're right. He was the
first pick, though, I would say that. I'm gonna say that.
I wonder if it will come a point in time
where James J. J. Jackson will be on your head
talking about some Trever Lawrences. Next, we're gonna take a
(15:43):
quick break, yes, yes, yes, nothing, We're gonna have to see. Man, hey,
wait out right off he had to turns and dip
out in the Bahamas. He was on dreams. I saw
he gotta hey plex he got up off of that
(16:04):
slide looking like tars at out that bad boy. It
is what it is. All of us can't had that
long wavy here like that. But it's all good. Man.
I'll tell you somebody who got good here. But it
ain't long and wavy. It's our man J. J. Jackson
from Straight Facts Podcast. We're gonna take a quick break
and then on the other side of the break, it's
(16:24):
gonna be another edition of on your Head. You're listening
to Fox Sports Radio. This is up one Game, Wake Up,
back up, got its on up on the Game, Up
on Game with t J and Stretch Plexico Burris and me.
Big Voy is up and here one of these things
(16:45):
is going to happen. Oh, it's on your Head. I
gotta bring my man on in. His name is James J. J. Jackson. Yeah, okay,
that was kind of corny, but I enjoyed it made
me feel good. I mean, it was one of the
dopest freestyles that you'll ever hear on sports talk radio.
(17:06):
And this is up on Game. It's the only place
that you'll get it. So make sure you check us out.
Uh yeah, I said it to you. Let's jump right
into it. We got on your Head with my man
James J. J. Jackson. Let's do it. It's like this,
I'm on your head with James Jackson. What up though?
(17:27):
What you got? What's going on? No? No, let me
just take a moment to recognize that freestyle. Man, that
was a great way to games. If I appreciate that,
appreciate it. But I got to talk to some people
who I I never really expected to talk to before
I get into Let me ask, you got sport video games?
You got good on the game I like all the time,
all the time, all the time. What'd be playing? T J?
(17:48):
Did you play Madden? Want? You don't want to see
me and Madden? We can we can talk through my base. Hey,
j J, we're telling you to down the river Plex
(18:11):
pretty minutes place bro for real. Okay, we're going to
see one time. I'm Gladden? Feel me? Is there a
segue to this? Is? Is there? Is there why you're
picking up Madden? Is? What? What are you bringing up
Madden for? I'm at I'm short because I'm a Madden
(18:31):
guy like t J. So I hate when these player
ratings come out and aren't accurate. It is so that
So that brings me to the top wide Receiver's list
of the upcoming, mad and I see a lot of
names on the sense that I recognize, of course, but
to me, there's just one missing in particular, and that's
your Marchis And I can't with the slides. So Maddie
(18:54):
ratings and justters. Yes, sir, I'm on the wold your head.
Let me get the it show. Let me put the
controller down for a centi, because I'm really not playing
games with these guys right now. You'd be hard for
us to find me ten receivers last season that were
better in the NFL than Jamaal Change. And that's not
even the worst point. The words for it is he's
not a loventh or twelve. He's eight teeth on the list.
(19:18):
Now to me, that's just ship he ky baby, Do
you mean the brother who called eighty one ball for
four horse thirteen touchdown and was one of the best
players in the team to represented in the Super Bowl
is eighteen? I can't get with that. And I think
one of the reasons they have Chase slotted so low
it's becauseuse one season may not compare to the total
(19:39):
body of work that there's other receive accumulated over a
couple of years. And that's ironic to me that they're
saying the Bengals brother that hasn't earned his struct yet
in the NFL. But I'm not really buying that because
they're quick to throw guys like Justin Herbert Say, Kuon Barkley,
Chase Young all inside the top ten of their respective
positions after once to calculate what you see. So I
(20:01):
just want to say energy over this way. I'm glad
that more exick this is out of motivation. To me,
that's nothing but disrespect. So J, I'm not be starting
up to your bank of brother and man because Man
has got no excuse for this one. I'm with your head,
j J. One, I'm one th percent with you on
this and I get it. It's one year. I want
(20:25):
to see more. Okay, No, I'm saying that's the madness,
and that's what maddness said. Okay, this this, this is
this is the thing about Man and j J. And
you know this as well. Anybody that plays the game
no speed is keen in this. You get a guy
can be terrible if he's fast, he's good on the game.
(20:48):
If you watch him play. Last year, they had him
at a ninety two when it went it started out. Man,
he's way fashion and I believe they bumped him up
to a four. That's disrespect as well. You watch when
they played the Chiefs. He caught that ball and he
split everybody in ticket to the crib. I was like, Oh,
he's gonna be a ninety six ninety seven next year.
Oh no, they they mess up again and do the
(21:11):
dumb stuff that they do. Like when you just look
at the rankings and how they do certain things, it's like,
who's doing this or are they doing this purposely because
it gets guys talking, It brings them more publicity about
the premier the next uh, the next game. It's just
I'm with on this belief he should be top ten. Easy.
(21:33):
Let me say this speed. Let me say this for
the record, Madden the e Sports, I have no poss
with you guys. Uh. My Madden card has been renewed.
They reached out to me last week to renew my
Madden card. I'm currently at a ninety four, so I
would say that's very accurate based off of my resume.
(21:56):
And ye man, right right now, but they got Flexner.
He's got no problems with the raising justice right now.
I got no problems my car was renewed for the
made So it seems like for me, you know, they
got it right. Okay, so let me tell you what
(22:19):
they had my man. Right now, I'm gonna tell you,
because I just got Minds upgraded as well. I'm gonna
tell you. Go ahead and talk j J. Look for this. No,
I wouldn't even know what that is. I've never been
into want interesting game. Yeah, I want to play interesting game.
I want to play the name game. I'm gonna name
you some guys, no particular order, but that are ahead
of Jamar Chase. You tell me if you think they
(22:40):
should be ahead of Jamar Chase or not. First, Mary Trooper,
not next you. Last year he's Tyler Tyler. No, last
year it was hurt. I don't think that fair. I
don't think that's fair, though, Chris godwe yes, because when
(23:03):
he's healthy. No, you're just saying that because he went
to Pensa. Come on, you're just saying that because I'm
saying it because he's really that good. No, he's really
that good. I would I would love. I would love,
But I'm supposed to You're not supposed to lose your
job because of an injury, right, And they say it
was really good. God One, he's better than Jamar Chase.
(23:26):
He couldn't have been he could not have been better
than him last year. But his numbers, I mean, he's
a thousand yard receiver. He s eight one catches for
fourteen hundred yards. Man, I mean, I'm not who you're
taking the art. If you're a GM, were you're taking
(23:46):
I'm taking. Uh, I'm taking Jamar Chase. Okay, exactly. I
did say it will be Rookie of the year, you know,
going into the season. But that's the whole say that
your ready, t J. I don't like I'm offended right now,
y'all not gonna be getting on krik Chris Godwin, we're
talking about madding ratings. What's your ring? What what was
(24:07):
your ratings? T J? What was your rateing? Do you
have it? What was it? I gotta find somebody sending
to me. So somebody that's just trying to find it.
Somebody's trying to find it, right, I mean even the
word case Chris Godwin keeping d J Moore, d J Moore,
(24:31):
Adam feeling like there's there's guys exactly, d J. D
J Moore from from the Chanthers slotted above him, Adam
Feelings and the Vikings slotted above him, and and then
Jamar Chase comes in out of eight seven overall at
number eight teen. So I think they don't. Don't they do,
like an update of something before the season starts. I
(24:53):
think they think frequently crazy open that day. By opening day,
he'll be about nineties six ninety seven seven right now, seven,
won't he won't get he won't get that high. He
won't get that high. Why you gotta play franchise and
get him that high? Really do on the game? Really
(25:18):
do on man? And I haven't played I j J.
I'm in leagues, bro, like winning Super Bowls? Man, over
that game. Let's go. We can run a game. Why
don't y'all just tell each other's name on the game
and don't live man? My wife, my wife be like
you up there playing the game again, Like yeah, he's
(25:41):
gonna be like yeah, babe, James keep beating me. I
gotta get one eventually. Hey, hey, j J. I'm telling
I'm telling you man, I'm putting I'm putting them pause
on you. Bro, I'm telling you can do it. And
I'm silent. I'm think I'm not I think I'm just smart.
I think my last post on my I G card
was my Madden card. It was it was, Yeah, I'm
(26:05):
going back on the game this year. Man. Oh my gosh,
I got, I got, I got all the little young
up to you know what, I'm on. I'm on y'all,
just I'm on y'all's heads. I'm on, I'm on, I'm on.
I'm on all three of y'all's heads. And you know what,
j J, it was. It was a great on your
head segment. I think you're right to mar Chase does
(26:25):
deserve to be rated and and and be in that
scenario in situation of being a top guy, um Plex
and t J, especially you, t J. I you know,
I don't know, man, you know, I don't know. I
don't Plex. You you know you're a Big tenor lookout
for us Big tenors against these these pack twelvers. We're
taking their guys and bringing them to the Big ten
(26:47):
until Oregon State makes it to the Big ten. Like
you know, you know love when you talking about Hey
j J, Hey, hey j J j J. We're gonna
have to let you go, man, because we gotta bring
in the legendary Isaac Lowan Cromba. Everybody, make sure you
check out JJ and the rest of the crew Gilli
(27:07):
and A Jake and all those guys on Straight Facts podcast.
You can get that on up on Game Presents Network.
I We'll check you out next week. Man, that was
a really good one who was very entertaining, and I
wish we had more time to argue and and talk
to one another bad about this, but you know, unfortunately
we gotta go to ILO for an update Trent thing
what we got. Ilo. They do Madden ratings for broadcasters too,
(27:29):
by the way, so yours truly came in at an
so you can take your your ninety ones. You know why.
You know, I'm the only broadcaster who can pronounce Denver
Broncos tight end Albert Okua Buonom's name correctly. Everybody else
they fumble it somewhere between the O and the nam.
(27:50):
But that's why you were without without exactly. Thank you.
So we go from the NFL to the NBA, where
ESPN reported a short time ago the reigning Coach of
the Year Monty Williams, has agreed to a long term
contract extension to stay with the Phoenix Suns. Williams already
has two seasons left on his current deal in Major
(28:11):
League Baseball. On Friday night, the Toronto Blue Jays scored
four touchdowns the Boston Red Sox, a field goal and
a safety final score from Fenway Park, the Blue Jays
tight the Red Sox five, as Toronto came within two
runs of the modern major league record. Danny Janson of
the Blue Jays to home runs six RBI and ray
(28:32):
mel Tapia had an inside the park grand slam. The
Houston Astros what at Seattle five to two, breaking the
Mariners fourteen game wedding streak. Aaron Judge of the Yankees
two more home runs and there's seven six win at Baltimore.
He now leads the majors with thirty six. Judge has
six home runs in his last seven games. However, early
this morning, the New York Post reported the Yankees reliever
(28:54):
Michael King will miss the rest of the season after
breaking his right elbow in the eighth Also Friday night,
the Dodgers defeated the Giants five to one as Cody
Bellinger broke a one one time in the bottom of
the eighth thing with what proved to be the game
winning grand slam. That's it for Mr ninety nine. Back
to you guys. All right, thank you for that update. Hey, fellas,
(29:20):
the Patriots, they they do not have an official offensive
or defensive coordinator heading into their season. Is this a
smoke screen? Is this a Bill Belichick in uh Jedi
night mind trick? Is he is he mine effing everybody
in the NFL and out here in the media, or
is this a grade a dumpster fire in the making. Man,
(29:45):
Bill Belichick just thinks he's smarter than everybody, Like he just, uh,
I'm gonna do this. It's gonna work. I'm gonna do that.
It's gonna work. He's trying something different. I don't believe
it's gonna work. It's just I don't. I would like
to know what his train of thought is when he decides, Okay,
(30:06):
Joe Judge, Ma Patricia, I want you to work on offense.
One of them will call players, or maybe Belichick will
who knows what's gonna go on? Like this is the
National Football League. These dudes spend hours upon hours upon
hours being better coaches, trying to find game plans. Matt
(30:29):
Patricia goes down to Detroit, does nothing. Joe Judge goes
in New York does nothing. I don't know what's going on.
I don't believe it will be successful. I believe they
wind up changing. But when you've won as many Superbols
bill Belichick has, I guess you get a lot of leeway,
you get a lot of rope to kind of experiment
(30:51):
with it. I don't understand it, but maybe when the
season starts, everybody was up. Okay, Bill KNEWI was a
good coach, But Bill Knew can call plays. Who knows.
I don't see it going well, but you gotta wait
and see. Hey, when I first when I first heard
about this, I'm thinking to myself, I said, well, but them,
Bill Belichick wants wants to basically make himself to Jered
(31:12):
Jones of head coach. He wants to be the He
wants to be that kind of coach. So control from Yeah,
without Tom Brady is no longer than there is. Turned
into a dictatorship up there in New England. But I
will always ditatorship. When I when when I when I
heard about it, two things came to mind, and I say,
(31:33):
this is the one reason why it won't work. There's
no way during the week Bill Belichick can be in
office and meeting the defensive meeting at the same time.
Somebody's going to have to be uh teaching and putting
all this stuff up on the board on on both
sides of the football. So how is he going rounder
the offense and the defense at the same time. Well,
(31:55):
when those meetings are going on offensively and defensively, some
Matt Matricia or some is going to have to be
teaching the defense because he can't do it both. So
that is the reason why I believe it won't work,
because it is plain and simple. You have to have
an officive coordinator and a defensive coordinator if you want
(32:16):
to run an office or defense. He can be the
head coach, but he can't do both at the same time.
You know what's interesting about that, fellas is and and
and that observation that critique. It's like an offensive coordinator
and a defensive coordinator bring there. They're established way of
(32:38):
doing things. That the the offensive terminology, the style of play,
the play calling, all those different things. Can a head
coach do it? Yes, he could do it? And theory
most head coaches have been coordinators and even understand the
side of the ball that they might not be an
expert to. But is that the most feasible way they say,
(33:02):
building you know, championship culture and building winning culture is
being able to get people that you can delegate to
that have a high level of competency and their ability
to execute what the strategy and the plan is for
each team that has to do what they need to do.
I think this is very problematic. I think it's very
very um risky. But I just had this weird ass
(33:27):
feeling that if there's somebody that has a plan or
an idea that said, look, just because I didn't make
you the defensive coordinator doesn't mean you can't coordinate the defense.
Just because I didn't name you the offensive coordinator doesn't
mean I can't have you coordinate our offense. And that
could possibly be what it is, and that's that he's
(33:49):
going to have a spirit of coordinator and a defensive
coordinator under another title. If it's Joe Judge or Man Patricia,
then I can't get it. That that's all I'm saying.
And if it's one of those two, I don't get it.
But he can have an offensive coordinator, defensive coordinator and
have the quarterback coach basically running the offense. Is what
(34:11):
I'm saying, and from a defensive standpoint, it could be
the linebackers coach, but he just doesn't have the title
of the defensive coordinator. That will be a coordinator. But
they just for it. Give him, give him that title
so he can get his credit if they do well,
and if they do and if they don't do so well,
let him take the heat, like, give him that title.
(34:32):
Why not? Now you know, behind closed doors, when it
comes contract time for these coaches to move on, that
is exactly going to be the title on the contract
when that that certain coach chooses to entertain positions other
than New England, that that offensive coordinator and defensive coordinator
will be on the resume. Hey, on another note, that
(34:56):
SEC media pole it hit, it touched down. We're gonna
tell you what the results were. And I gotta tell you,
were you shocked? Where you surprised when you saw the poll?
I know I wasn't. But we're gonna talk about We're
gonna discuss it right here on up on Game This

(36:01):

about in the first hour. Kyler Murray got a contract,
James Jackson jumped on Matten's head for Jamaar Jay's Patriots.
No offensive well official official offensive defensive coordinators. Uh you
can see all of those things or hair all those
things on the podcast. We appreciate your supporting, uh fellas
(36:21):
UH real quickly. Alabama obviously got the most votes in
the media poll. Uh the SEC media poll. They got
one hundred and fifty eight votes out of one hundred
and eighty one. Georgia only receiving eighteen point three or
excuse me, eighteen um three for South Carolina, which I
(36:43):
found to be interesting because they got two more than
Texas A and M. Vanderbilt got one as well. So
Texas and M gets one vote, Vanderbilt gets one vote,
but one hundred and fifty eight. That's a landslide voting
for in favor of the Crimson Tide. Uh so it
continues to be rolled Tide. What what was your guys
(37:06):
take on it when you saw the votes? Not surprised?
Turned the Heisman Trophy winner and Bryce shawng the best
defensive player in war Anderson scaled position players they just reload.
So it's not a surprise at all to me. I
mean with Georgia, I mean, look how many guys that
(37:32):
is true? That is true. They didn't lose a flunk
of kids, that is true. Kids, and they lost their
best receiver to Alabama. Yeah yeah, yeah, that's true. That
is true. I mean, let's be honest, man. Uh, Alabama
moves the needle when it comes to college football. I
mean that the number one, the number one program, and
not just in the A c C, but but nationally
(37:54):
how many four or five national champions Like you say,
Bryce Young, I mean they just they get the best
players out of high school going to Alabama, like the
one and two best players at basically every position, and
and they just continue to win. Even though they didn't
win the national championship this year, they're they're going to
(38:18):
be in a hunt this year, this ship, this year,
in a hunt every year every year. During the Georgia
lost their best return and receiver to Alabama and they
should have got all the votes. Levred. To be honest
with you, wow, unless you will be better. But it's
gonna take a couple of years from Brian Kelly to
get up in there. But they got it right, they
(38:39):
got it right. Well I'll tell you who gets it right.
We get it right right here on up on game.
And just in case you thought that this first hour
was enough, well here comes hour. To take a quick break,
get a sip of water, maybe somebody's tea, some lemonade,
maybe you want to mix them together. But make sure
you get it together, because by the time we come
(39:01):

get an update from Ilo, and then it's our to
