Deshaun Watson has a ton of allegations. He has this

owners shoulder, this, he's looking back at this, he has
this in front of him, and he can get a
contract that's fully guaranteed. The quarterbacks in the National Football
League have more power than ever, more power than ever,
and you get less guaranteed money than Deshaun Watson. That

makes absolutely no sense to me. Deshaun Watson has a
ton of allegations and getting less guaranteed money then Deshaun Watson.
He ain't. I don't, I don't. I don't understand that
part of it. But for Kyler Murray, this is a
great deal for him considering had he gone and play baseball.

I don't believe he would have this type of contract
at this time because he would be a free agent
for another few years at the best. But Tea and
we were talking about contracts versus Deshaun Watson, and Colin Murray.
I believe that the Browns gave Deshaun Watson that contract
based off of playing football, not based off what he

guys on a scale, then we already know if Deshaun
Watson is not going through what he's going through, who's
the more who who's the premier quarterback of the two?
So I don't think that they gave him gave him
that two thirty million illars guaranteed based off of the allegation.

what they have accomplished or what they're accomplishing. That is
what's confusing to me. And we just had this this
conversation last week. We don't believe he's a top ten quarterback.
But he's being paid as one of the top three

the stage for these you know, for Justin Herbert and
Joe Burrow, they all sit track. Look, they are sitting back.
Joe is smoking a cigarette somewhere right now by the

setting a bad president get for these, for these guys
coming behind, get the coming behind him, who are actually
elite level quarterbacks. It is setting a bad president going forward.
But for him, you listen, he's in the right place

years playing with playing with the Stellers, and that is
where the game is going. But for him to receive
this contract, the guys that are coming after him, man,
old man, it is going to be something special to

seemingly is the next one up to get a contract.

of the Baltimore Raven, felt horribly bad and had some
strong comments about the contract that was awarded to Deshaun Watson.

They did award him that that contract based off of

a guaranteed investment on someone who could possibly not be

charges were dismissed by by two grand juries in the
state of Texas. They they were dismissed, so they probably
thought that everything was over. He still had twenty several

Let's let's revisit what you're saying. When when the criminal
charges were not you know, prosecuted or taking the court,
that doesn't mean that the legal the criminal aspects of

have been something that surfaced in these civil suits, like
more people coming to the table like they have, that

could have actually led to a criminal investigation being launched, reopened,
and there could have been uh criminal to the extent

I'm saying is he got two million guaranteed and Kyler
Murray got technically a hunter. They say it's one sixty bro.

I just I don't understand it. Like when a quarterback
sets the precedent, meaning Deshaun Watson and his representatives, they
set the precedent. We're getting these contracts guaranteed. The next
guy gotta fall follow one and follow suit, and for
the next guy behind, it's always the next guy up.
It is always. When you sign a fully got guaranteed contract,

that money has to go on extra scrow. By this
amount of time, we don't have that type of money
to put in that scrow. Guess what, you know what
we can do. I got you. Let's just shorten linted
this contract then, and then let's make it a three
year deal. We don't have to go five years. That's
what you're just short the contract in three years. Looking
at this from what Arizona Cardinal standpoint, I mean, he's young,

he's going into his fourth season and there's a lot
of you know, there's a lot of ceiling for him
to reach, and it's potential. I think that's what you're
talking about. That's that's the key right there. But but
where did the Arizona Cardinals go from from here? If
they don't resign. Colin Murge, Well, the idea of it
is is that you go back to the toilet the ball.

they're a franchise. If a franchise consider is the guy
they have as a franchise quarterback, then he's the next
guy up, whether he's achieved at that level or not.

and see. Hey, when I first when I first heard
about this, I'm thinking to myself, I said, well, but them,
Bill Belichick wants wants to basically make himself to Jered
(31:12):
Jones of head coach. He wants to be the He
wants to be that kind of coach. So control from Yeah,
without Tom Brady is no longer than there is. Turned
into a dictatorship up there in New England. But I
will always ditatorship. When I when when I when I
heard about it, two things came to mind, and I say,
(31:33):
this is the one reason why it won't work. There's
no way during the week Bill Belichick can be in
office and meeting the defensive meeting at the same time.
Somebody's going to have to be uh teaching and putting
all this stuff up on the board on on both
sides of the football. So how is he going rounder
the offense and the defense at the same time. Well,
(31:55):
when those meetings are going on offensively and defensively, some
Matt Matricia or some is going to have to be
teaching the defense because he can't do it both. So
that is the reason why I believe it won't work,
because it is plain and simple. You have to have
an officive coordinator and a defensive coordinator if you want
(32:16):
to run an office or defense. He can be the
head coach, but he can't do both at the same time.
You know what's interesting about that, fellas is and and
and that observation that critique. It's like an offensive coordinator
and a defensive coordinator bring there. They're established way of
(32:38):
doing things. That the the offensive terminology, the style of play,
the play calling, all those different things. Can a head
coach do it? Yes, he could do it? And theory
most head coaches have been coordinators and even understand the
side of the ball that they might not be an
expert to. But is that the most feasible way they say,
(33:02):
building you know, championship culture and building winning culture is
being able to get people that you can delegate to
that have a high level of competency and their ability
to execute what the strategy and the plan is for
each team that has to do what they need to do.
I think this is very problematic. I think it's very
very um risky. But I just had this weird ass
(33:27):
feeling that if there's somebody that has a plan or
an idea that said, look, just because I didn't make
you the defensive coordinator doesn't mean you can't coordinate the defense.
Just because I didn't name you the offensive coordinator doesn't
mean I can't have you coordinate our offense. And that
could possibly be what it is, and that's that he's
(33:49):
going to have a spirit of coordinator and a defensive
coordinator under another title. If it's Joe Judge or Man Patricia,
then I can't get it. That that's all I'm saying.
And if it's one of those two, I don't get it.
But he can have an offensive coordinator, defensive coordinator and
have the quarterback coach basically running the offense. Is what
(34:11):
I'm saying, and from a defensive standpoint, it could be
the linebackers coach, but he just doesn't have the title
of the defensive coordinator. That will be a coordinator. But
they just for it. Give him, give him that title
so he can get his credit if they do well,
and if they do and if they don't do so well,
let him take the heat, like, give him that title.
(34:32):
Why not? Now you know, behind closed doors, when it
comes contract time for these coaches to move on, that
is exactly going to be the title on the contract
when that that certain coach chooses to entertain positions other
than New England, that that offensive coordinator and defensive coordinator
will be on the resume. Hey, on another note, that

He was drafted in football and baseball, first round, first
player ever in history. But this is the thing, he
do you know how to win for Kyler Murray because
if he was at baseball, he would hopefully me and
the major's not the minors and be hoping that one

day I can sign this type of contract. Oh, he
just signed that type of contract in the National Football League.
I said it at the time, very very smart to
go to football. Football is out pacing baseball and salaries.
Uh and his shows. But this is what I don't like.
Deshaun Watson has a ton of allegations. He has this

owners shoulder, this, he's looking back at this, he has
this in front of him, and he can get a
contract that's fully guaranteed. The quarterbacks in the National Football
League have more power than ever, more power than ever,
and you get less guaranteed money than Deshaun Watson. That
(06:51):
makes absolutely no sense to me. Deshaun Watson has a
ton of allegations and getting less guaranteed money then Deshaun Watson.
He ain't. I don't, I don't. I don't understand that
part of it. But for Kyler Murray, this is a
great deal for him considering had he gone and play baseball.

I don't believe he would have this type of contract
at this time because he would be a free agent
for another few years at the best. But Tea and
we were talking about contracts versus Deshaun Watson, and Colin Murray.
I believe that the Browns gave Deshaun Watson that contract
based off of playing football, not based off what he

has going on legally. And if you put those two
guys on a scale, then we already know if Deshaun
Watson is not going through what he's going through, who's
the more who who's the premier quarterback of the two?
So I don't think that they gave him gave him
that two thirty million illars guaranteed based off of the allegation.

They gave it based off of being a quarterback of
the team. And you know, I heard about this congret
a couple of days ago. What I'm saying to myself,
I'm what are these quarterbacks and these players and these
organizations giving these players, these quarterbacks based based off of Uh,
you're talking about this guy's four million dollar shot of
Aaron Rodgers and annual salary at forty six million? Are

we giving contracts based off of potential or what well,
what they have accomplished or what they're accomplishing. That is
what's confusing to me. And we just had this this
conversation last week. We don't believe he's a top ten quarterback.
But he's being paid as one of the top three

quarterbacks in football, which is I don't understand. It sets
the stage for these you know, for Justin Herbert and
Joe Burrow, they all sit track. Look, they are sitting back.
Joe is smoking a cigarette somewhere right now by the

poor cigar like he was doing the National championship. Is
setting a bad president get for these, for these guys
coming behind, get the coming behind him, who are actually
elite level quarterbacks. It is setting a bad president going forward.
But for him, you listen, he's in the right place
(09:26):
at the right time. This man is making more money
in one year than I made in my whole five
years playing with playing with the Stellers, and that is
where the game is going. But for him to receive
this contract, the guys that are coming after him, man,
old man, it is going to be something special to
(09:46):
watch down the road. Well, second hour, we'll talk about
Lamar Jackson. That should be an interesting conversation because he
seemingly is the next one up to get a contract.
And if you recall, uh, Steve A. Shotti, the owner
of the Baltimore Raven, felt horribly bad and had some
strong comments about the contract that was awarded to Deshaun Watson.

Now I'll say this and and and you know, response
to the Deshaun Watson situation, I fully want hundred to
agree with both of you. You guys are actually both correct.
They did award him that that contract based off of
what he's playing. But I also agree with t J.
How are you going to award him for on the
field things if if things are not clear clearly defined

off of them, you know, it's it's like you're making
a guaranteed investment on someone who could possibly not be
available to you. And even if it's just for one
single year, if it's one single season, I don't think
they knew to that extent though I was gonna be

last week what I say, what I thought it would be,
Remember you recall I don't I don't think the Browns
that it was gonna be this extensive. Uh, with all
the allegations, with all the allegations that have come forward,
I would they said that they did that due diligence,
They did their research, But with everything that has happened

over the last month, I don't think that they foresaw
all of these things the surface. I don't believe that
if if those all those allegations were present at the
time of him getting that contract, I don't believe that
the brains don't You don't think there was enough he
had he had there had to be allegations. You have

to remember that when he signed his contract, all those
charges were dismissed by by two grand juries in the
state of Texas. They they were dismissed, so they probably
thought that everything was over. He still had twenty several
cases sivil, civil civil. You cannot be suspended in the
NFL for civil could be anything but but here, but here.

Let's let's revisit what you're saying. When when the criminal
charges were not you know, prosecuted or taking the court,
that doesn't mean that the legal the criminal aspects of
it are over. They're not over. He could there could
have been something that surfaced in these civil suits, like
more people coming to the table like they have, that

could have actually led to a criminal investigation being launched, reopened,
and there could have been uh criminal to the extent
is what I'm saying. Hey, I mean, man, hey, All
I'm saying is he got two million guaranteed and Kyler
Murray got technically a hunter. They say it's one sixty bro.

I just I don't understand it. Like when a quarterback
sets the precedent, meaning Deshaun Watson and his representatives, they
set the precedent. We're getting these contracts guaranteed. The next
guy gotta fall follow one and follow suit, and for
the next guy behind, it's always the next guy up.
It is always. When you sign a fully got guaranteed contract,

that money has to go on extra scrow. By this
amount of time, we don't have that type of money
to put in that scrow. Guess what, you know what
we can do. I got you. Let's just shorten linted
this contract then, and then let's make it a three
year deal. We don't have to go five years. That's
what you're just short the contract in three years. Looking
at this from what Arizona Cardinal standpoint, I mean, he's young,
(13:29):
he's going into his fourth season and there's a lot
of you know, there's a lot of ceiling for him
to reach, and it's potential. I think that's what you're
talking about. That's that's the key right there. But but
where did the Arizona Cardinals go from from here? If
they don't resign. Colin Murge, Well, the idea of it
is is that you go back to the toilet the ball.

They go back to the ball. That's that's true. You
asked what what why they pay that money. It's because
they're a franchise. If a franchise consider is the guy
they have as a franchise quarterback, then he's the next
guy up, whether he's achieved at that level or not.
If they view your if I view my quarterback on
this team as a franchise guy, that's what qualifies you

as the next guy up. I would say that that's
the easiest way of putting it, so that let's be honest,
why wouldn't he be your franchise guy. Yeah, well there
are a lot of courts. I mean, nobody's looking at
Zack Zack Wilson as the franchise guy in New York.
He's not going to be the next guy up. There's
a place they may, they may, they may, but they

may not. There there's no there's no correlation to him
being the next guy up in terms of like a
Joe Burrow or even now, I hate to say this,
and I hate to do this to you, even your boy,
Trevor Lawrence. He is not in position to be the
next guy up yet, based upon what he's done so far,
he will be well, we'll have to wait and see. Well,

we'll have to wait and see. But he he hasn't
position himself to be the next guy yet. And that dude,
that dude, Man, if y'all get around this guy, yeah

Bill Belichick just thinks he's smarter than everybody, Like he just, uh,
I'm gonna do this. It's gonna work. I'm gonna do that.
It's gonna work. He's trying something different. I don't believe
it's gonna work. It's just I don't. I would like
to know what his train of thought is when he decides, Okay,

Joe Judge, Ma Patricia, I want you to work on offense.
One of them will call players, or maybe Belichick will
who knows what's gonna go on? Like this is the
National Football League. These dudes spend hours upon hours upon
hours being better coaches, trying to find game plans. Matt

Patricia goes down to Detroit, does nothing. Joe Judge goes
in New York does nothing. I don't know what's going on.
I don't believe it will be successful. I believe they
wind up changing. But when you've won as many Superbols
bill Belichick has, I guess you get a lot of leeway,

with it. I don't understand it, but maybe when the
season starts, everybody was up. Okay, Bill KNEWI was a
good coach, But Bill Knew can call plays. Who knows.
I don't see it going well, but you gotta wait

about this, I'm thinking to myself, I said, well, but them,
Bill Belichick wants wants to basically make himself to Jered

Jones of head coach. He wants to be the He
wants to be that kind of coach. So control from Yeah,
without Tom Brady is no longer than there is. Turned
into a dictatorship up there in New England. But I
will always ditatorship. When I when when I when I
heard about it, two things came to mind, and I say,

this is the one reason why it won't work. There's
no way during the week Bill Belichick can be in
office and meeting the defensive meeting at the same time.
Somebody's going to have to be uh teaching and putting
all this stuff up on the board on on both
sides of the football. So how is he going rounder
the offense and the defense at the same time. Well,
(31:55):
when those meetings are going on offensively and defensively, some
Matt Matricia or some is going to have to be
teaching the defense because he can't do it both. So
that is the reason why I believe it won't work,
because it is plain and simple. You have to have
an officive coordinator and a defensive coordinator if you want
(32:16):
to run an office or defense. He can be the
head coach, but he can't do both at the same time.
You know what's interesting about that, fellas is and and
and that observation that critique. It's like an offensive coordinator
and a defensive coordinator bring there. They're established way of
(32:38):
doing things. That the the offensive terminology, the style of play,
the play calling, all those different things. Can a head
coach do it? Yes, he could do it? And theory
most head coaches have been coordinators and even understand the
side of the ball that they might not be an
expert to. But is that the most feasible way they say,
(33:02):
building you know, championship culture and building winning culture is
being able to get people that you can delegate to
that have a high level of competency and their ability
to execute what the strategy and the plan is for
each team that has to do what they need to do.
I think this is very problematic. I think it's very
very um risky. But I just had this weird ass
(33:27):
feeling that if there's somebody that has a plan or
an idea that said, look, just because I didn't make
you the defensive coordinator doesn't mean you can't coordinate the defense.
Just because I didn't name you the offensive coordinator doesn't
mean I can't have you coordinate our offense. And that
could possibly be what it is, and that's that he's
(33:49):
going to have a spirit of coordinator and a defensive
coordinator under another title. If it's Joe Judge or Man Patricia,
then I can't get it. That that's all I'm saying.
And if it's one of those two, I don't get it.
But he can have an offensive coordinator, defensive coordinator and
have the quarterback coach basically running the offense. Is what
(34:11):
I'm saying, and from a defensive standpoint, it could be
the linebackers coach, but he just doesn't have the title
of the defensive coordinator. That will be a coordinator. But
they just for it. Give him, give him that title
so he can get his credit if they do well,
and if they do and if they don't do so well,
let him take the heat, like, give him that title.
(34:32):
Why not? Now you know, behind closed doors, when it
comes contract time for these coaches to move on, that
is exactly going to be the title on the contract
when that that certain coach chooses to entertain positions other
than New England, that that offensive coordinator and defensive coordinator
will be on the resume. Hey, on another note, that

So it's not a surprise at all to me. I
mean with Georgia, I mean, look how many guys that

of kids, that is true. Kids, and they lost their
best receiver to Alabama. Yeah yeah, yeah, that's true. That
is true. I mean, let's be honest, man. Uh, Alabama
moves the needle when it comes to college football. I
mean that the number one, the number one program, and
not just in the A c C, but but nationally

how many four or five national champions Like you say,
Bryce Young, I mean they just they get the best
players out of high school going to Alabama, like the
one and two best players at basically every position, and
and they just continue to win. Even though they didn't
win the national championship this year, they're they're going to

in a hunt every year every year. During the Georgia
lost their best return and receiver to Alabama and they
should have got all the votes. Levred. To be honest
with you, wow, unless you will be better. But it's
