Get in the Zone, Auto Zone. We're in the zone
here on OutKick major League Baseball postseason off and running.
The Baseball television rights holders ecstatic as well as anybody
who is a Yankees fan out there. Minnesota sports fans
continue to take it on the chin. A one game

(00:44):
playoff one eight to four by the Yankees, Aaron Judge,
who is becoming a superstar if he's not already a superstar. Obviously,
you hit fifty home runs in your rookie year, it's
hard not to be a superstar. But he went three
for four with a home run, a couple of r
b I s in that game. And now we have
the all of the American League playoffs set. So if
you are a baseball fan, October is the best month

(01:06):
in general for sports fans because there's just so many
different options starting on Thursday. Couldn't get much better in
the a L than a Yankees and Red Sox American
League Series for a chance to go to the World
Series for but Red Sox playing the Astros Yankees playing
the Indians. That's about as good as you get for
the American League playoffs for big markets. Uh for interesting storylines,

(01:31):
the Astros never won anything. Um, really, the Indians have
not won a title since I believe it's the nineteen
forties now, which is the longest streak in really consistent
Major League Baseball history since the Cubs finally won. And uh,
the Yankees in the Red Sox, so we'll see what
exactly ends up happening there. Tonight we have the other
wild Card game going on, which which should be interesting.

(01:54):
The Rockies and the Diamondbacks will be playing at eight
o'clock Eastern on TBS. So oh uh, last night's game
got a pretty substantial audience. Four hour contest looked bad
for the Yankees early, and uh it didn't take long
for them come in and take control of the game.
So I'm gonna bring in the crew out in l A.

(02:14):
Let me go ahead and give you a roadmap. So
many people are listening on the podcast now that I
want to give you a roadmap, UH for what exactly
we got transpiring in today's show, We're gonna talk to
Alex Marvez. Usually we talked to Alex Marvez in the
open of the UH in in second segment of our
two but we had an awesome interview with Jim Ross
that's at Jr's Barbecue, good Old Jr. From the w

(02:35):
w E. If you are a fan of wrestling Oklahoma
or Oklahoma football, the Sooners, or just a fan in
general of an interesting conversation, he was great, I mean
really outstanding yesterday. I encourage you to go listen to
that and listen to the podcast. As a result, Alex
marvezknn join us in the next segment to talk all
things NFL. So we'll cover pretty much every team you

(02:58):
can think of that matters right now in the NFL.
Will break that down the next segment an hour two
more in the NFL with my our guy, Jeff Schwartz's
brother Mitch is on the Kansas City Chiefs. Jeff played
eight years in the NFL on the offensive line, we'll
talk to him about NFL Week four, any surprises that
he believes have emerged as the as obviously the situation

(03:19):
in the NFL has moved into the quarter mark of
the season. And then in our three we'll talk with
Britt mckenry, as we do every single Wednesday in that segment.
Much to get to, including the fact that virtually no
one is mentioning this Michael Bennett story uh still, and
I do think it's an important story because the Las

(03:41):
Vegas Police Department has proven that Seattle Seahawk Michael Bennett
is a liar in his allegations of racism. The fact
that it's getting no attention in the media, I think
is a glaring sign of bias. I want to give
credit to Ryan Rossilo and Will Kine who actually mentioned
it on the ESPN, becoming the first people other than
me in nationwide sports media to actually discuss the fact

(04:04):
that this guy has been called a and proven a
liar based on his allegations of racism, which received an
abundant amount of attention in UH the earlier part of
this month. If you want to watch these videos that
proved that he was not in fact a victim of racism.
I would encourage you to go to out kick. Those
videos are up, you can play them and you will

(04:26):
be I think kind of blown away at the amount
of attention these initial allegations received and then the lack
of attention that they have received. In a follow up manner, Uh,
let's bring in the crew though, to talk about last
night's game between the Yankees and the Twins. And you
guys were watching Justin and Danny g in l A,

(04:47):
what kind of stood out to you guys? Obviously you're
all in because the Dodgers have advanced to the playoffs.
Dodgers have not won the World Series since City of
Los Angeles is ecstatic. If you were Major League Baseball,
the best poss able I would imagine at this time
in terms of ratings, maybe it's but maybe it's Cubs
and obviously the Boston Red Sox. Maybe that's the best

(05:09):
possible World Series, although now that both of one World
Series titles, maybe it's not as much of the draw
as possible. Second best, clearly would be the Dodgers going
up against either the Yankees or the Red Sox. That
would be kind of the the sexiest matchup. The two
coasts playing against each other. How optimistic are you guys

(05:30):
now that postseasons finally here as Dodger guys in l A. Well, unfortunately,
Justin is an Angels fan, so he'll sit out your talk.
I don't know, Justin, how did you become an Angels
fan back in the day. That's embarrassing. I don't want
to talk about it. Okay, they're wasting the best Angels
in the outfield. Oh wow, I did not know that. Yeah,

(05:56):
I wouldn't expect anything else from the child star. Yeah, Clay,
Dodgers Yankees would be amazing if that. If that happens,
and we'll find out tonight. Of course the NL wild
Card game to see who the Dodgers are gonna face.
It's the Rockies at the Diamondbacks. Both teams have very
good offenses. Uh, pitching not a strong suit for really
either team except for Granky on the diamond Backs. So

(06:17):
we'll find out who the Dodgers are gonna face. But yeah,
the city of Los Angeles definitely buzzing about the Dodgers.
Like I said yesterday, it is World Series or bust.
That ALE wild Card game last night started off really nice.
Clay the National anthem seemed extra special in light of
everything that happened in Las Vegas. And then the Twins

(06:38):
came out and shocked the Yankees Ace Luis Severino because
Dozier comes up leadoff hitter for the Twins, Knox a
home run, Rosario comes up another home run. Uh, Severino
didn't even get out of the first inning. UM and
then four Yankee relievers pitched eight and two thirds innings. Gardner,

(07:00):
Judge Homer. As you mentioned, Greg Gory has had the
bomb of the game. So the Yankees bats were on
fire for the rest of the game. So the Twins
come out three nothing lead. Looks like the Twins are
gonna light up the night. Instead, the Yankees overcame their
ace picture falling apart, and advanced now to play in
the A L Playoffs. And there's a great set up.

(07:21):
Like I said, major League Baseball has to be ecstatic.
Fox and Turner both both just delirious with glee over
the fact that they get the Yankees and the Red
Sox and the Cubs and uh and everybody else. Uh
the that are out there that are big time draws,
the Dodgers. Uh, You've got basically every major market in
America that could possibly have a big time Major League

(07:43):
Baseball team all advancing in the Major League Baseball postseason.
This has the potential to be one of the best
in terms of amount of attention. I mean, just think
about it. You've got New York, you got Boston, got Houston,
you got l A, You've got Chicago, and then you've
got a bunch of sexy stories involving other teams that
don't have as big of markets, right, I mean, it's

(08:04):
it's pretty wild to to think about all the different
major American cities that are gonna be brought into They're
gonna be brought into this story. So I guess probably
in an ideal universe, I mean, I would say Colorado
and Phoenix both kind of relatively equoing Denver and Denver
and Phoenix both kind of equal size cities. But again,
you talk about Boston, you talk about Houston, you talk

(08:25):
about uh, the Cleveland, you talk about New York City,
you talk about um and then in the the NL,
you've got the city of Chicago, You've got the city
of l A. I mean, it's about as good as
you can get. So all of that will be rolling in,
We'll be talking about Major League Baseball playoffs tomorrow with
our guy John Morosey. He'll be breaking it down a
little bit better after the wild card in the NL
is also decided. But up next, we've got our guy

(08:48):
Alex Marvez gonna tell us all about the NFL. We're
gonna break down basically the NFL a quarter of the
way through the season. What's the most surprising, what's the
least surprising, what's the most disappointing. We'll get into all
that and more with our guy Alex Marvez. NFL talk
big time over the next fifteen minutes or so. Thank
you for hanging with us here on out Kick. I'm

(09:08):
your fearless leader Clay Travis. And up next it's NFL
diving in deep here on Fox Sports Radio. Great news.

say fifteen cent or more on car insurance as well.

same car you're looking for, new or used. Visit Truecar
to enjoy a more confident car buying experience. Alex Marvez
in with us right now. Uh, it were a quarter
of the way through the NFL season. On yesterday show,
we were talking about biggest surprises, biggest uh, you know,
disappointment so far a quarter of the way in. It's

(09:52):
still early, but what would you say has stood out
to you the most so far in the NFL season?
The Los Angeles Rams have stood out me as far
as X's and os. Go and listen. Sean McVeigh to
his credit, Listen to guy can sit on a gatorade
tub all he wants while his defenses on the field
and orchestrate his his offensive game plan. He's got Wade
Phillips having his back as defensive coordinator. But you know

(10:13):
what he's done. I mean to see the progress in
Jared Goff to get Todd Gurley in the m v
P conversation, to get utility out of Sammy Watkins, Tavon Austin. Listen,
we all understand he's a really limited player, but he's
getting the most out of him and the offensive line
holding up. Listen, we bashed less need as well. We should.
The guy you know working with Jeff Fisher. They made
some disastrous personnel decisions, but right now they've got something

(10:34):
good going. And I know we talked about all the
empty seats in Los Angeles, you know for the Rams games.
I think they're gonna start filling up quite honestly, starting
Sunday against Seattle. I think this is an exciting team.
It's so anti Jeff Fisher, like, it's just remarkable to me,
the brand of football that they're playing. It's been refreshing,
it's been fun and a total breath of fresh air,
you know. And obviously on the flip side in Los Angeles,

(10:55):
the Chargers, this thing has become such a disaster right
from the get go, and opposing teams know that they
that their fan bases are going to come in and
take over the stadium. The Sands, Sandy Aggans, is that
a word. They're not coming to play. They're not coming up.
They're not dealing with the traffic, the ten hour drive
to go up seventy miles, you know, up to see
that the Los Angeles Chargers play at a hundred sixty

(11:15):
five dollars a pop with a hundred dollar parking after
that franchise snubbed them and came up north. They're not
getting new fans to come in and support the Chargers.
I mean, it's really just a pathetic situation to combine
with the pathetic football team, by the way, that still
has the same problems that they tried to leave behind
in San Diego. Can't win close games in the fourth quarter,
Special teams are bad. Do you buy into the Chiefs

(11:37):
at four now? The last undefeated NFL team, remarkably, even
though we're only four weeks in. Is this a team
with staying power that can contend for home field advantage
in the a f C or are they going to fade?
They have a little bit of a tough a tough
schedule coming up. You know, they've got Houston, They've got Pittsburgh,
They've got Oakland, Denver, and Dallas. Those are their next

(11:58):
five opponents. Now, do they get a break with Derek Carr?
Is he going to be back literally figuratively because of
that that back injury that he suffered, you know against
the Denver Broncos. Zeke Elliott gonna be on the field
for the Dallas Cowboys. I mean, that's a fair question
to ask as his suspension remains up in the air.
But that's an awfully tough stretch. I expect them to
come back down to earth a little bit. But look there,
they've opened up this offense. They put in a lot

(12:21):
of interesting wrinkles that take advantage of Alex Smith's mobility.
It's almost like death by paper cut, right, but like
they don't necessarily beat you with a big play, although
they've shown the capability to hit him this year, but
it's more like they didn't and dunk you down the field.
But there is now that threat of a deep pass
and that is significant for the Chief's offense having that
because defenses have to respect it. Look at give him

(12:41):
credit and Justin Houston is a huge difference maker for
this team. When this guy is on play, he's probably
the best outside linebacker in the league. And I'm saying
that including the company of Von Miller and KELLEL. Mac Okay,
let's let's there's so many stories I feel like to
get to in the NFL. Let's go right into the Patriots.
I said, a couple of weeks go, and we're talking
to Alex Marvez. I said, a couple of weeks ago,

(13:02):
Tom Brady is still Tom Brady. But the Patriots are
not the Patriots, primarily on the defensive side of the ball.
They have played three home games. It took a remarkable
late drive from Tom Brady to avoid the Patriots being
oh in three in those home games. The Bills are
up top in the a f C East two and
two Patriots. Are the Patriots in trouble or is this

(13:23):
a team that everything is gonna even out and they'll
still win the a f C East and we'll be
talking about him as a Super Bowl contender come November
in December. Well, see, that's the thing about the Patriots,
right You just expect it to happen, you know, and
you don't know how it's gonna happen. You just expect
that Bill and his staff are gonna find answers, are
they're gonna make some personnel move or you know, maybe
in this case, they'll bring Rob Nickovich out of retirement

(13:45):
to help rush the passer. You know. I mean, but
but this this team right now in the secondary is
such a mess. They're so confused. And one of the
problems that they have is coming in now in a
short week, having to play Tampa Bay tomorrow night play.
That's a toughie, you know, because you don't have time
to really fix so much of what's going on and
what's been killing New England these bunch formations. And Ron
River alluded to the Panthers head coach after the game,

(14:07):
guys aren't sure exactly where their assignments are used to find.
Gilmore's doing his own thing, Eric Rose doing his own thing.
I mean, it just looks so confusing to that secondary
right now, and teams are taking advantage of it. Also
mobile quarterbacks that the Patriots can't get these guys down.
So it looks like, at least of the time being,
this is gonna have to be a shootout type of team.
You know, the New England Patriots is gonna be winning

(14:28):
games like by the scores you saw, for example, you
allude to that Houston Sexans game. Gonna be like that
until this defense can catch up. Ultimately, are they a
playoff team? Shut? And I don't buy the Buffalo Bills
going to distance say, they do not pass the football
very well, and I think that ultimately will catch up
to the Buffalo Bills, but they are playing some pretty
sound defense. I think the depth on the on that
side of the football, though, may ultimately come back to

(14:49):
han him, But how about this, Patriots have not been
two and three since Tom Brady became a starter in
two thousand one, could very well be looking at that
tomorrow night after playing Dampa Bay. That's an amazing statistic.
That is really the incredible. Okay, And I want to
talk a little bit about that game that's coming up
tomorrow night. As you mentioned it, is it fair to
say unbelievably that the Bucks are a little bit playing

(15:09):
with house money here given the fact that they're two
and one and the Patriots, like you just said, if
they followed to two and three, look the Bucks if
they falled to two and two, and you know, look,
I mean I know that the uh that the Atlanta
Falcons and the Carolina Panthers are three and one, and
that's an incredibly difficult division. So it's gonna be hard
to win that division no matter what. But at two

(15:29):
and two, it's not like you're out of the running.
At three and one, you feel ecstatic. Whereas for the Pacers,
for the pacers, for the for the Patriots at two
and three, I mean you would have to be like, oh,
like that's a record scratch moment. I think for them, well,
you see what Tampa Bay though, I mean, they got
something good going at home. First, they started two and
oh and they haven't done that in about a decade
at home. They are the NFL's worst home team since

(15:51):
two thousand nine. I'm not sure if you're aware of that,
and of course that goes with losing, but even the
Cleveland Browns have a better home record during that time
since two thousand and nine than Tampa Bay. So I
think establishing a home field advantage, getting your own fans
back in and listen, there's gonna be a whole bunch
of folks in Boston, you know, and and all that
will be up there on Thursday night. Don't get me wrong.
But the point, though, is it I think for Tampa

(16:13):
Bay it is like a statement game, you know, have
they are? I think sometimes teams that are in the
middle of the pack. You know, when I talked about
it with the Tennessee Titans in Seattle, that was a
statement game to me. Of course, then they go out
and make another type of statement against Houston Texans. But
when you beat a great team, it just built on
that confidence. And that's where I think the stands for
Tampa Bay because let's be honest here, none of this
really matters as far as tiebreaking scenarios, playoff implications except

(16:36):
for a winner or loss. You know you're you're not
talking about this figuring into any sort of tie breakers
as far as terminent determining playoff positioning or whether you
get in. But I think it is significant for Tampa Bay.
One thing that's important about this and maybe you take
the over in this game. The Bucks thirty one in
the NFL in past defense, only behind the Patriots, and
they've only gotten one sack through three games. No, boy, no,

(16:58):
that's not good at all. Let's talk about being pretty good.
I think at least Deshaun Watson. Now, I watched this
game against the Titans. The Texans put up fifty seven points.
Marcus Mariota, out day to day with a hamstring train strain,
did not play in the second half. But when I
watched the Titans defense, what I noticed was Bill O'Brien

(17:20):
had a masterly day calling plays because almost every single
time Deshaun Watson's first receiver was open, this was not
him surveying the field, standing in the pocket and making
like kind of like a general like decision in terms
of understanding the field and everything that's going on. It
was the Titans couldn't cover the receivers of the Texans

(17:42):
and every time almost the primary option the first read
was open. What do you think about Deshaun Watson? Is
that a level of success that they can keep up?
What are you hearing about him? And? Uh, everything going
on with the Houston Texans right now, it's all positive. Listen,
the guys scored nine touchdowns passing in rushing in just
three and a half games. I mean, he he's running

(18:03):
away with NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year and you know,
the smart thing he did, the one thing that brock
Oswaller didn't do. And maybe maybe, just maybe brock Oswaller
would have a chance at still being around the Houston text.
It's not saying that would make them a better franchise,
but maybe he'd still be around if he said, you
know what, DeAndre Hopkins is pretty good. Let me throw
at him. And you know what, even if I don't
complete every past, you know who's not going to be

(18:25):
complaining about a lack of touches. DeAndre Hopkins. Hopkins thirty
one catches, but he is the most targeted wide receiver
in the NFL. And I think that's what it comes
down to, look because I mean, now you're seeing an
ancillary piece like a Braxton Miller stepop and then that's
tremendous for them. And Ryan Griffin is healthy again. They're
tight end. They're very tight end centric offense. They were
last year, you know with c J. Fedoro was an
injured reserve. They've had to change them. Will Fuller's back

(18:47):
now to give him a stretch the field kind of guy. Exactly,
you got it. So all these little pieces are coming together.
Deante Foreman has been a very nice acquisition, the rookie
out of tex Just complimenting Lamar Miller in the running game,
but watching mobilities if too. I just think that they've
given him enough, you know that that he's not overwhelmed
by the offense. He's comfortable operating. He did have a
more of a pro style system at Clemson than other

(19:08):
college programs, so I listen, I give the kid a
ton of credit. Of course, with Bill O'Brien, you never know, right,
I mean, and you know, but he might have finally
gotten it right at the quarterback position after getting it
wrong so often during his coaching tenure in Houston. What's
going on with the Cowboys? Is that more about the
Rams being good or the Cowboys being bad. Cowboys are
back to where they were, which is a five caliber

(19:29):
team that gets up for some games and down for others.
Is sort of how I look at a little bit
with their mental outlook and think about it like this too.
With the Cowboys. If you're a five hundred team with
Zeke Elliott, what are you without Zeke Elliott? Right? And
I mean that that sort of damnackle is hanging over
their head because six games suspension could be coming down,
could be coming down as soon as later this week.

(19:50):
We don't know about what's happening. You know that the
presentation was made Monday, and now we're waiting to hear
what the court decision is on Zeke Elliott. It is
expected to potentially come at the end of the week.
If they're if they don't have Zeke Elliott for six weeks,
just teams in a lot of trouble. They've got to
get healthier in the secondary. That is an area that's
hurting them. But either we really underestimated the Rams or
the Dallas Cowboys just I think they've got some trouble

(20:11):
right now. And I just think that they set the
bar so high last year, and I think these guys
riding high on it. And let me share an anecdote
with you. I went to Jerry Jones Hall of Fame
party and all the players are there. We're talking like
fifties something. Guys are, at least the veteran players, the
guys you would know right, they're all at this party.
And I'm thinking, you know what, you're out celebrating, you know,
right after your preseason game. You're acting like you guys

(20:33):
have won the super Bowl and the season hasn't even
started yet. It's those types of things to me, that
that you know, you love the Cowboys. And I'm not
thinking necessarily translates to wins and law so, but I
just think there's sort of a mindset that comes in
there with the Cowboys a little bit. When things are
going great, these guys ride high. But through the years,
as we've seen, and I thought they've broken the cycle
last year, but when adversity hits, they don't handle it well.

(20:53):
And I just I'm real curious to see where this
Cowboys team goes from here. What's up with the Browns?
I mean, I feel bad asking the question, but we
talked yesterday's show. Uh, the fact that Hugh Jackson is
now one in nineteen in his first twenty games as
a head coach. I know that they've got a lot
of issues. Deshaun Keiser wasn't ready they started him anyway,

(21:15):
they don't have a quarterback there in the running for
the Sam Donald or Josh Rosen or you know whoever
the sweepstakes quarterback is going to end up being. But
at what point does Hugh Jackson become the guy that
people start to blame at least a little bit. I mean,
one in nineteen. Yeah, but he's got friends in the media,
so it's easy to not attack Hugh. It's easier to

(21:36):
attack Sashi Brown and the quote brain trust of the
Cleveland Browns. And listen, in a lot of ways they've
done Hugh Jackson no favors. Look at some of the
people that have left Cleveland right and and you know,
for example, Mitchell Swartz the best you know, i'd say
maybe the best right tackle in football. You could argue
Jack Conklin, but you let this guy walk out the door.
You have ten zillion dollars in salary cap space. Right,
you're willing to give brock Oswalder sixteen million dollars roughly

(21:58):
to not play for you. Yet you at this guy leave.
You let the Shawn Gibson twenty five year old safety
walk out your door. You let Turell Prior leave. And
I'm not saying Terrell would have necessarily been, you know,
phenomenal for them, but at least he was. He was
growing under Hugh Jackson. And you signed Kenny Britt and
his frying pan hands and boom again last week leads
to an interception. I mean, I think he has more
drops and catches for the season. He's been abysmal. So

(22:19):
you look at the people making these decisions and then
you say, okay, you think they're going to draft a quarterback, Well,
you have a chance at the Shawn Watson didn't take him.
You have a chance at at Carson Wentz you didn't
take him. Who's to say that these are absolutely the
right people running the organization. I see nothing, zero, that
gives me any confidence in Hugh Jackson or the administration
there that says that this team can win. It's the

(22:41):
same ole, same ole in Cleveland. Who's gonna win the
NFC North. I would argue the NFC North and the
NFC South have the two best collections of quarterbacks right
now in terms of guys that are playing pretty well. Right,
I mean in the in the NFC South, you've got
four guys who could all make runs towards the Super

(23:01):
Bowl at some point in time. Right, Jamis Winston, Drew
Brees already won one, Matt Ryan almost one. One. Cam
Newton's an m v P and he's been in the
Super Bowl. Right, That is a really solid collection of quarterbacks.
In the NFC North, let's just toss the Bears out, right,
But you got Matthew Stafford, who is at the peak
of his abilities. You got Aaron Rodgers, maybe the best
quarterback overall. Who knows exactly what's gonna happen with the
health situation with Sam Bradford, but I think when he's healthy,

(23:24):
and that's been the story of Sam Bradford's career, there's
pretty good quarterbacks there too. So let's who wins the
NFC's North in your mind, I just I go with
Green Bay because I think they can adjust really well,
and I just wonder about Detroit and when adversity hits them,
as far as injuries going, it had affects every team basically,
how will they be able to adjust? Look, the defense
is playing a lot better. There are a lot more

(23:45):
cohesive as a group. I think the collectively they're better
than the individual parts. In Detroit and Matt Stafford's ball,
I mean, and I give him a lot of credit.
He you know, it's funny he's better without Calvin Johnson. Amazing,
isn't it? Isn't it? But you know what, all of
a sudden and we saw a little bit of me
and Calvin Johnson this, you know, ever since he's retired.
You know, I didn't think I could win a super
Bowl with these guys. What a slap in the face, right,

(24:05):
And he's the guy demanding the football from Matt Stafford.
And trust me, I don't think Matt and my conversations
with him, was crying crocodile tears that Calvin Johnson retired.
I think this line's team continues to build confidence when
they win a big game, when they did against Minnesota
on the road. I think the Vikings, because of Dalvin Cooke,
they're gonna put you know, now their eggs go in
the Sam Bradford basket. Good luck with all that. There
are five hundred team Unfortunately they're just mired in that spot.

(24:27):
But Green Bay, when you look at what they've done
the past two games, pulling out that victory against Cincinnati,
coming back to win, beating the Chicago Bears, and they're
on their fourth string running back, right, I mean they
have they have to such a guard to tackle. They've
got no offensive lineman. Jordy Nelson's not a hundred percent.
I mean, these guys are are just stretched, you know,
thread bear and boom. They're out there winning games still,

(24:47):
and I think that's the thing. I think they've been
there and done it. I think they're tried and true.
By the way, I'm surprised Jay Cutler in the a
f C East not not making your quarterback grounds right now.
You know what, Jake Cutler is gonna go for over
three yards against the Titans secondary. I mean, people have
on the and that's the game. We don't know if
Marcus Mariotte is going to start in that game obviously
against the Dolphins, but I'm telling you Cutler is going
to come out and just gun sling the ball all

(25:08):
over the field. Everybody's gonna say Oh, maybe color is
not so awful. It's gonna because he's going up against
the Titans secondary um Andrew lock. Hey, what in the
world is going on there? What is the decision going
to be? How's his health? What are you hearing out
of Indianapolis. I'm just look, I heard this injury was
a lot worse initially. We've talked about it on your show, Clay.
We've talked about it that it was a lot worse
than initially led on. But you know, you get a

(25:29):
little bit distracted because Joe Mercy comes out and says, Hey,
this guy is gonna be able to play. Don't worry,
He'll be ready for the start of the season. Oh no,
there's been no setbacks in any of that, and they
won't put him out there on the field. Look, when
you saw him on the sideline against Seattle, did this
guy looks physically big enough to you to get back
there out on the field. He didn't. He doesn't look
anywhere near ready. I would say, right now, just just

(25:51):
giving an eyeball look, and what I've been able to ascertain,
we're looking to three weeks out at least, and by
that point the ship has sailed on Chuck Pogano. This
this team is just they're going nowhere fast. They had
one nice half against Seattle. Jacoby Brissette, Look, maybe he
could be a franchise quarterback. And you know the bad
part for Brissette. I mean, it's great that he's gotten snaps,
but but now he's back to not playing unlessay Andrew

(26:11):
Luck starts getting hurt all the time and Brissett's out there.
So his growth as a quarterback is going to start
to be stymming because Andrew Luck is coming back, which
isn't a bad thing for the Colts, is a bad
thing for Jacoby Brissette. But so it goes. But just
this team, you know, in the offensive line, now another
center goes down there on the third string center. They
can't keep the offensive line healthy. And by the way,
Frank Gore, I know that he got the praise from

(26:31):
Al Michael's automatic Hall of Fame running back. If he
does get in, it's going to be as a compiler
of stats. The fact that he has had longevity in
the NFL, Because does any NFL team at this point
for the past four or five years go into the
game and say, you know what, we've gotta stop Frank Gore,
because if we don't stop Frank Gore, we're gonna lose
this game. No, nobody does, because again he's steady. He'll

(26:54):
get j eight yards a game, He'll hit his thousd
in each season. He's a great team guy. All of
those things he does as assignment's well, he's a very
solid player. But I just find it interesting is he
moves up the ranks and he passes all these dynamic
running backs you know, Eric Dickerson in yardage guys like that.
You just scratch your head and it's it's amazing. It's
a credit to Frank, but God, just you think about
dynamic players, That to me is not Frank Corps. Final

(27:17):
question for him, we're talking to Alex Marvez. He joins
us usually every single Tuesday. He was nice enough to
come on early with us on Wednesday morning because we
had j R. Good Old j R. Jim Ross at
j RS Barbecue. You had a book coming out. I'd
encourage you guys to go listen to podcast interview with him.
He was fantastic. Um, and I know you're a fan
as well of of w W E and j R. Well,

(27:38):
I mean he wrote the forward to my pro wrestling
training guide. So you know, this was like a little
tip for tat so to speak. I do have a
column up at Sporting news dot com. Uh really, and
it's written from a different perspective because Jim and I
have been friends for we're coming up. I met him
in so I guess with twenty seven years now, we've
been doing different things. You know, as far as pro wrestling.
I helped set him up with some folks in the
NFL Players Association when w W was looking to recruit

(28:01):
pro football players into their ranks and trying to you know,
set up a little bit of behind the scenes conduit
there a while ago. But you know, JR. Is still
his wife, you know, passed away Jan and the trial
is coming up for the seventeen year old now I
believe he's eighteen, who hit and killed his wife. She
was on a vestpa coming back from the gym, didn't
have a helmet on, a huge mistake. She ended up suffering,
you know, fatal brain trauma. And Jim is just still

(28:24):
broken up. I mean, he's just he's doing the tour.
His book is Apple. When you read the book, you
just understand what his wife meant. To him, and I
have more of a love letter types column about Jim
Ross and about him having to go through all of us,
you know, even with the tragedy of his wife, and
he says, look, it's one of the reasons I keep working.
I cannot be alone. I just I can't handle things
like that. That's why I want to remain tied in

(28:44):
the wrestling business. It's a fascinating book on Jim Ross,
on his on his ascension and listen, it's a it's
a book of dreams because Jim Ross dreamt when he
was a little kid of being a pro wrestling announcer
and making to the big time, and a guy on
a farm in Norman, Oklahoma was able to do just that.
Kudos to him. It's a wonder book, but a lot
of heartbreak behind it as well. Sporting News dot Com
from my column, and of course listen to Play Travis

(29:05):
all of the podcasting great things that Play presents every week.
That is phenomenal. Okay, I said the last question for
you before I got you into the JR Talk, but
state of Pennsylvania, which team would you buy stock in
right now? The Eagles at three and one or the
Steelers at three and one. I'm just a Steelers guy,
as goofy as. It is just again because of the
track record. Now that being said, Carson Wentz is you know,

(29:27):
he's really growing as a quarterback. He's not committing mistake.
Zach Ertz right now is just catching everything all Sean
Jeffrey has developed a real nice we're poor with you know,
and defensively, look, they're not the same without Fletcher Cox,
but who would be. I mean, this guy is an
absolute beast. He he missed last week's game, but you know,
I like them. I think the secondary though, is really
susceptible to big things and look, play what I can't.

(29:47):
It's gonna be interesting at the end of the year
if the Steelers end up getting a number two playoff
seed or have to go to a wild card and
you're going through tiebreakers, you're gonna look back on that
Chicago game and say, what were you guys thinking And
they'll say, oh, yeah, it was Trump, you know, because
you know it really because there's no way they should
be losing to the Chicago Bears week three at Soldier Field,
and every team goes you know, most teams go through

(30:09):
that hiccup where you look back, you circle a game,
and you say, why did we lose to this crappy
opponent that's not going to be in the playoffs. The
Sailors have to deal with that now. It just gives
them a little bit, a little bit less room forrayer.
But look, with Baltimore falling by the wayside, Cleveland being abysmal,
and we know Cincinnati. I think they're better, and I
think they are going to get back on their feet
a little bit, but they probably dug themselves too big
a holt oh and three, this is not only Pittsburgh's

(30:30):
division to win. This is also an opportunity for the
Steelers to potentially get home field advantage, especially with New
England being down. Incredible hit there. I think we literally
hit almost all thirty two NFL teams in one segment.
My appreciation. We'll talk to you next week. My man, Hey,
champions of life, that's what we are. Your coach still
still working there, and just was wondering I gotta fire him.

(30:51):
He's still working there because the administration has no balls.
He should be gone. I think I thought I thought,
with Peyton watching that he'd be gone by the way
the next day. The worst beating the University of Tennessee
with the worst home beating since nineteen o five. Were
at that game, No, I didn't go. I was planning
on going. Oh yeah, yeah the nineto five game. No,

(31:12):
I was planning on going to that Georgia game. Then
I called an audible on the day of and said,
you know what, I don't have a lot of confidence here.
I'm just gonna watch it from my couch. That was
the right call, Alex. Alex Marvez brought to you by

Eddie Garcia. Let's find out what shaken in the world

(31:34):
is sports Well Clay. In the opening game of Major
League Baseball's postseason, the American League Wild Card Game saw
the Yankees beat the Twins eight to four. Minnesota had
a good start if they jumped out to a three
nothing to leave in the first inning. They knocked New
York starter Luis Savarino out of the game. He only
recorded one out, but the Aggies came right back in
the bottom of first Ded Gregorious when a three run
home and to tie it. They got home runs from

(31:55):
Brent Gardner and Aaron Judge and great pitching from their bullpen,
eight and two thirds innings from the pen that they
allowed just one run on five hits and an eight
four win for the Yankees. Twins have now been eliminated
by the Yankees in five of their last six postseason appearances.
They haven't won a playoff series since two thousand and two,
so the Yankees move on. They'll play in the a
LDS against the Indians. Game one is in Cleveland on Thursday.

(32:15):
That's the best of five series and the NFL Bears
linebacker Danny Trevathan had a suspension for a helmet hellment
hit on Packers wide receiver Davante Adams, reduced from two
games to one game and despite being in the concussion protocol,
there is a report that Adams is likely to play
Sunday against the Cowboys. Also, teammate running back Time Montgomery
says he thinks he can play in that game as well,
despite suffering what he called multiple broken ribs in that

(32:37):
game against Chicago and Clay the NBA All Star game
is switching formats this season, as two captains, who will
be voted on by the fans, will select the players
for the two teams in a fantasy draft, regardless of
which conference the players playing. The NHL has done this,
the NFL has done this, and they both scrapped the
idea since. So now the NBA is deciding we'll try
and drum up some interest in this unwatchable All Star game. Yeah.

(32:59):
I mean, they scored so many points the last year.
I mean it was just totally worthless. Thanks for the
update there. Uh, and so I don't really see how
this is gonna change things. I think in general, it's
a hard sell for all star games, with the exception
of Major League Baseball, which I think does it pretty well.
The Pro Bowl rates well, but nobody really cares. It's
not like I'm gonna come on and talk about the
Pro Bowl unless somebody gets hurt. And probably the same

(33:22):
thing is true of the NBA All Star Game. I
I just I mean, I think the slam dunk contest
and the three point shoot out and everything else is
more entertaining than the actual game. We're coming to you

Bennett for all case he alleged racism. He's not telling
the truth, and I think it's an important story that

(34:05):
should be covered, even though hardly anybody else is covering it.
You're gonna want to hear this because I bet guarantee
you you haven't heard it yet, proves he's a liar.
Will discuss and play for you next on OutKick the
coverage coming to you live from the Geico Outkicks studios.

used car, visit True Car to enjoy a more confident
car buying experience. Gonna dive into this Michael Bennett case
because I think it remains totally uncovered by the media
by and large, and I think this is one of

(34:45):
the most biased things I've ever seen the media do. Now,
we have got a video that was released by the
Las Vegas Police Department on last Friday. Now, we talked
about this sum on Monday. We didn't talk about it
much yesterday. Obviously the shooting in Las Vegas distracted to
a large extent from anything that happened over the weekend.
So we started off Monday show and I wake up

(35:07):
in the first news alert I have is about the
shooting in Las Vegas, and I'm like, man, this is
obviously going to be our lead story, uh, and deservedly so.
And we're on in Las Vegas and there are many
of you listening out there. Is you're starting your day
or finishing your day. Is it's sort of three fifty
um roughly on the West Coast right now. And the

(35:27):
bravery and heroism that was shown by the Las Vegas
Police and all the first responders, I think speaks well
to how hard and diligent people are at doing their
jobs out there. So if you have forgotten about the
Michael Bennett incident, here is roughly what happened. In the
wake of the Mayweather McGregor fight. There was a report

(35:48):
of a shooting inside of a casino back in August.
Michael Bennett was out there for the fight Seattle Seahawks
UH defensive lineman. And when the police responded to that
report of a shooting back in August, they went in
with their guns drawn, as you can well imagine they did.
And honestly, everything that you see in the videos from

(36:10):
the Las Vegas police have a certain amount of urgency
now because we know what happened on Sunday night when
that madman, that crazy man, that that idiot UH, which
is the nicest thing I can say about him, open
fire on all those innocent people at the concert in
Las Vegas, the Jason al Dean concert and killed. I
believe the number now is fifty nine wounded, over five hundred.

(36:32):
So they went to that report thinking that there was
going to be an active shooter there. As you watch
that video, there are hundreds of people running around in
that casino, almost all of them are black, and there's
a lot of terror. There's a lot of fear, and
as the police officers are walking through, they have their
guns drawn. And there is a video and we're gonna

(36:54):
play this video for you at the start of hour two.
There is a video which shows Seattle Seahawk my Michael
Bennett running through the casino, leaned over as if he's
trying to hide. And then and this is a strange behavior.
As you watch everybody else, nobody else is behaving like
Michael Bennett. And then he tried. He's like crouching and
trying to hide. And then he gets behind one of

(37:16):
the slot machines and is hiding there. And so the
police officers who are responding to this report of the
shooting in Las Vegas, these brave first responders, they see
Michael Bennett's behavior and they think that seems strange and
they think maybe he's involved in this shooting and he's
trying to hide from us and get outside of the
casino in the wake of this reported shooting. So they

(37:39):
approach him to ask him why he's hiding behind the
slot machine, figure out what his story is because they
believe that his behavior is suspicious. When they approach him.
The police officers Michael Bennett and try to ask him
a question. Michael Bennett takes off at a full sprint
and refuses to answer the officers questions, runs outside, leaps
over a wall, and tries to flee into the Las

(38:02):
Vegas night. The police officers, who are remember responding to
a live report of a police shooting, tackle Michael Bennett
and handcuff him. Why do they do that because they
believe that maybe he's involved in this shooting because of
his behavior. Everybody else listening to police officer commands responding correctly. Again,
the audience is almost entirely black, so the idea that

(38:25):
he is being singled out because of his race is
a lie. And so when they when they tackle Michael Bennett,
they put him in handcuffs. They take him to a
police car and they continue to talk to him, and
they find out that he tells them that he is
a player for the Seattle Seahawks. They have obviously checked him,
they have confirmed that he does not have any weapons.

(38:46):
They undo his handcuffs. He is detained for a total
of ten minutes, seven minutes in the back of a
police car. During the course of that interaction which we're
gonna play for you. The police officers tell him, look, hey, uh,
the reason why we detained you is because we believe
you were behaving suspiciously. You were trying to hide from us.

(39:07):
You ran from us when we approached you. We didn't
know what the story was here, but we are trained
to respond when we see reasonable suspicion, and we thought
you might be the shooter that we were looking for.
They explain everything to him, they shake his hand, they
allow him to then leave, and there is no issue
with anything right and in fact, as you'll hear in

(39:28):
the video, Michael Bennett doesn't even have an ID with him,
and he tells him that he plays football for the
Seattle Seahawks, and they look him up on their phone
to tell whether or not it's him, and then they
release him. The Las Vegas Police Department did nothing at
all racist. In fact, the three officers that are dealing
with Michael Bennett to Asian, I mean sorry to Hispanic

(39:48):
men and a black guy. Zero racism. You're gonna hear
this video next. When you're listening to this video, I
want you to think about this question. Why are you
only hearing it on my show in b see, Fox, CBS,
and ESPN all had this information on Sunday, did not
mention it. In fact, even worse NBC than a puff

(40:10):
piece interview with Michael Bennett and didn't even discuss the
fact that he was a liar who had thrown police
officers under the bus. Las Vegas Police Department did nothing wrong.
I'm here to defend them. I want you to hear
this video. Make sure you stay in your car next
for this on OutKick the coverage coming to you live
from the Geico OutKick Studios. Fifteen minutes could save you

(40:54):
like to do on this show is we have a
lot of fun. Right, We do lots of ridiculous things.
We have lots of fun with the caller voicemails. We
take a lot of calls, but also I try to
be as honest with you as possible. That's the number
one goal. When I agreed to take over this show
about a year ago, I said, yes, I'll do it,
but the only conditions I have are I'm gonna talk

(41:16):
the exact same to people on the radio now as
I do on my daily Facebook and Periscope show, minus
the fact that I can't curse on this show. Right
there's FCC restrictions, And I'm gonna call it exactly like
I see it, and I'm gonna be as honest as
possible every single day. And So when initially this Michael
Bennett story came out, Seattle Seahawk defensive Aligneman, when when

(41:39):
he called everybody in the Las Vegas Police Department racists,
I said, man, I just I don't know that I
buy this story. I don't know when you look at
the facts. I don't know that I buy the idea that,
responding to a report of a live shooter and a
Las Vegas casino that the first thought of minority police

(42:01):
officers is let's go find a black guy and harass
him because of his race. That didn't make sense to me.
It seemed like a lie or an exaggeration. The media
ran with it. Michael Bennett goes on Twitter and calls
the Las Vegas Police Department all racist. He says he
was profiled, He says they treated him unfairly. He says

(42:22):
all these incredibly insulting things about the Las Vegas Police Department.
The media runs with it. Every single media outlet in
the country treats it as the gospel truth. NBC, CBS, Fox, ESPN,
all of them, all of the outlets online right similar stories.

(42:42):
Friday afternoon. Late in the afternoon, the Las Vegas Police
Department announced they have completed their investigation. They have reviewed
over a hundred and ninety different video tapes. They have
called Michael Bennett and his attorney and offered them copies
of over a hundred and ninety different video tapes of
this incident. Remember we're talking about a Las Vegas casino,

(43:03):
so there are tons of cameras from every angle. They
tell them that they have over a hundred and ninety videos.
You're welcome to review it. We have found zero evidence
to support any of Michael Bennett's claims. Moreover, the two
Hispanic officers and the black officer who were involved in
this case, we find actually behaved with an A plus rating.
They did everything perfectly. Okay, there was no racism here,

(43:26):
there was no improper treatment. Moreover, we're gonna release this
video that I'm about to play for you. This is
from that August night after Mayweather McGregor. You can go
watch this video on out kick dot com. This came
out on Friday afternoon. There was no mention, no mention
whatsoever of this video or the Las Vegas Police departments

(43:46):
statements anywhere on NBC, CBS, ESPN, or Fox on Sunday,
despite the fact that all those networks covered his accusations
of racism. Michael Bennett is a liar. He is lying
about this racist incident. And this video I want to
play for you. This is from the Las Vegas Police Department.

(44:07):
This is their video, one of one ninety three I
believe the number was different videos from that night which
disproved everything that Michael Bennett said. But I want you
to listen to this. Okay, They're gonna listen to this video.
This is after Michael Bennett has stopped. Okay. Um. This
is the Las Vegas Police Department spokesperson. This is their
interaction with him. What I want you to notice is

(44:28):
how well they explain exactly why they detained him in
the moment they say, look, you were trying to hide
from us. You didn't respond to our to our, our commands,
and you can imagine how that looked for us. It
ends with them shaking Michael Bennett's hand and allowing him
to be released. The zero racism at all. I want

(44:50):
you to listen to this odd video, and then I
want to ask you, guys, how in the world this
is not receiving a massive amount of attention and why
most of you are only going to have heard this story,
the fact that Michael Bennett is a lying race baiting
fraud from me and no one else in the media.
Why is that? Listen, so the highlighted here, you'll see

(45:12):
Mr Bennet up here in the crowds, stands and proceeds
in the rear of the slot machines there, and we
have two officers that are looking trying to evaluate what's
going on. Go ahead and stop. I'm gonna get up,

(45:52):
Get up up, stand up, and thank you. Back to
my car. I got to listen than recall mom, sack down,
he turn turn your hair man. We'll be right before.
I'll give me what right now? What am I gonna

(46:13):
do with the stoot doing? No problem there, I'm just
a question. Heven said. We hear somebody shooting in there.
Everyone's down. You're learning. I'm turning to get out much Yeah,
stop stop talking. I understand, but used to understand how
that looks though. Okay, you're on and underright, We're gonna
get you out of here, okay, but we just had
to make sure because right now all we know is

(46:34):
people are shooting in there, is what we're hearing, and
then you're running away. So we're making sure that's not you.
Now come out, and if it's not you, we we
all have time to be out here talking in your name,
give an idea and you know, man, my name is Michael.
Okay here Michael Bennett. I menin. But if I can
get a picture of him and football you do reck

(46:58):
like them? Okay, Indian got off and the important but yeah, okay,
and people are hearing out when you're yelling at that,
we need to get to there now. You gotta happened.
But yeah, right, all right, So it's a little bit

(47:21):
difficult to hear all that, but that's all the interaction
between Michael Bennett in the Las Vegas Police Department. Michael
Bennett doesn't have ID on him. He says he plays
for the Seahawks. They look up if you watch this video,
if you want to watch the video for yourself, you
can go to OutKick dot com and scroll down to
the Michael Bennett article that I've got up. They they
clearly explain exactly why he was detained because, as you

(47:44):
can see on the video, he's behaving in a suspicious fashion.
This video makes even more sense, tragically, in light of
what happened on Sunday. These police officers are responding to
a report of a shooting. Their casino is wild, right,
There's tons of people everywhere, almost all of them are black.
The idea, if you go watch these videos that I

(48:07):
have up on out kick, that Michael Bennett was singled
out as a because he was black is laughably absurd.
The question that I have for all of you out
there who have just heard that clip, why did Michael
Bennett's allegations of racism which had absolutely zero supportable evidence.
All Right, they had over a hundred and ninety videos

(48:28):
they reviewed. You just heard their interaction. They actually explained
exactly to Michael Bennett while they stopped why they stopped him,
and by the way, they thought that maybe he was
involved in the shooting. If they had been able to
capture the shooter, those guys would be heroes there right now.
It turned out there wasn't actually a shooter at this casino,
but they have no idea right there, police responding to

(48:50):
reports of a live shooter active shooter in a casino
in the wake of the Mayweather McGregor fight. The fact
that we actually had a live shooter in a casino
on Sunday puts into perspective even more how ridiculous it
is that Michael Bennett defamed the Las Vegas Police Department
like he did. Remember, not only did Michael Bennett to

(49:10):
fame the Las Vegas Police Department, but the NFL and
the Seattle Seahawks both issued official statements endorsing Michael Bennett's lies.
Why then, has no one other than me in the
national media really called out Michael Bennett for this. NBC
did a puff piece interview with him on Sunday on

(49:32):
Football Night in America. Michael Bennett, imagine this, after being
proven a liar in this incident continued to sit on
the sideline for the national anthem. Can you imagine the
sociopathic tendencies that would require to not stand for the
national anthem? After you have been proven to be a liar,

(49:53):
disparaging the Las Vegas Police Department and these two Hispanic
and black police officers who were involved in this detainment
of you. You weren't arrested, You were detained because you
were behaving suspiciously. Can you believe that no one else
is talking about this? One of the only places in
America that you were going to hear a discussion about this.

(50:14):
Everybody covered the allegation of racism against the Las Vegas
Police Department. Nobody is covering the fact that Michael Bennett
has now been proven a liar. Why let's bring in
the crew also open up the phone lines eight seven,
seven nine, six three six nine, Jason Martin, Why do
you think no one is covering this? Because unfortunately, we've

(50:38):
come to a place where racism can be proven by
saying the word racism in the eyes of the people
that want to believe that. And I think that's the
shame and it's yes, and it's detrimental to legitimate claims
of racism. This harms the entire cause of racism if
anybody actually watches this video and sees and listens actually

(51:00):
to the end of what we just played, and here's
the officers, very calmly but sternly say, look, this is
why we did this. We're now, you know, as soon
as this gets taken care of, we're gonna let you go.
But we have to do this in this situation. And
Michael Bennett did what Michael Bennett did after the fact.
I understand in the moment he was scared. It was chaos.
He you know, I don't know how many run ins

(51:21):
he's had with the police in his life, but certainly
it's not ever gonna be something that's gonna be. Here's
the deal. When a police officer tells you to stop,
you stop, right, I mean, that's like basic basic understanding
in the universe. Here, the uh, the key here is
the reason why the racism allegations were covered and the

(51:41):
non the proving that this was not a racist incident
was not covered is because most people in the sports
media use individual circumstances to justify their worldview right, and
their worldview is police are awful America is racist. That's
the truth of what the sports media believes. And you
can take that to the bank, Okay, and that's fine.

(52:04):
You can have your own worldview. You can believe that
police are awful and that racism is a constant problem. Right.
I don't believe that. I don't believe that police are awful,
and I don't believe that police are racist and that
they're always looking out to try to do bad things
to minorities. I don't believe that. I don't believe it's
supported by data. But if you want to believe that,
and therefore you want to believe Michael Bennett's allegations, then

(52:27):
you can certainly cover them. But it is unbelievable to
me that all of these institutions CBS, NBC, Fox, ESPN,
all of which covered Michael Bennett's racism allegations and through
the Las Vegas Police Department under the bus, did not
cover the proof that Michael Bennett is actually a race

(52:50):
baiting fraud. And here is an important detail too, Like
Jason Martin just said, when you make an allegation like this,
when you make an allegation like this and it's proven
not to be true, you are actually making the world
a worse place. Michael Bennett claims that he wants equality.
That's why he's not standing for the national anthem. He's

(53:12):
a lying, race baiting fraud who actually made the world
more unequal and dangerous for police officers and other young
minorities out there who interact with police officers, because if
actual racism happens, people are gonna be less likely to
believe it because of wars like him. Because you look
at the tape there and there was nothing that happened.
Let's bring in the l A crew. Why do you

(53:34):
guys think this is not getting more coverage? Why is
OutKick one of the only places in the entire country
that is covering the fact that Michael Bennett is lying.
I think a lot of it has to do with
the fact that the media loves to cover things on
the way in, but not necessarily on the way out
unless it's worse than what I mean by that. Recently,
I listened or I watched Channon Sharp on FS one

(53:57):
and he was talking about back in the day he
was accused of rape and it was on the front
page of his newspaper and when he was a quit
you know, when they didn't even press charges and they
threw it out. He said, it was a little blurb
on the back page, and that's you know how our
society is. It looks hy the way Shannon Sharpett's ironic

(54:18):
that he would talk about that because he spent an
entire week talking about how Michael Bennett was a hero
on Undisputed. Same thing with a lot of these other
television networks. Do you know how many minutes they have
spent pointing out that the Las Vegas Police did nothing wrong. Well,
that's that's that's my point on this. I mean, but
than him that he like, like you said, he's pointing
out that he was unfairly treated by the media, and

(54:38):
now that he's in the media and the Las Vegas
Police Department has been treated unfairly, he's being a total
hypocrite because he's spent a week talking about how racist
the Las Vegas Police Department was. He spent a week
absolutely praising Michael Bennett for being a hero, for standing
up and telling the truth and everything else. The story
comes out, Michael Bennett is a liar, the video comes out,

(54:59):
all this. They haven't spent one second on a show
like Undisputed pointing out that the entire week's worth of
shows they did talking about Michael Bennett being a hero
in the Las Vegas Police Department being awful, they haven't
spent a single minute discussing the fact that he's a liar. Yeah,
I think everybody should have reserved judgment until the cameras
came out, because you agreed with that too when this happened.

(55:21):
Remember we we were talking about how unfortunately some of
the p D there from back in the day up
until recently, um, you know, had some some bad stats
go against them. But that doesn't mean that all of
the police officers are bad. We've talked about that on
your show a lot. It's a big point that I
make all the time, and I learned this in law school.

(55:42):
You can't allow individual cases to try to justify your worldview.
Duke Lacrosse is a great example. You might believe that
these duke kids are spoiled, that their privilege, that they're
the kind of guys who would take advantage of a
black stripper. Right, that fits your worldview, But that doesn't
mean that these guys in this particular situation did anything wrong.

(56:04):
I'll give you another example that I talked a lot
about on this show Ezekiel Elliott. I went and read
all the evidence of the Ezekiel Elliott case. I don't
believe the NFL six game suspension is justified. I do
believe that domestic violence is a problem in this country. Right,
that doesn't mean that an individual allegation of domestic violence

(56:24):
is true. A lot of people have difficulty with this, all. Right,
racism can be an issue in the country. It doesn't
mean that every time somebody says something happened to them
and was racist, it doesn't mean that's true. Just like
Ezekiel Elliott. Look, domestic violence is an issue in this country,
but it doesn't mean that Ezekiel Elliott beat up that
girl in that particular case. You can believe that rape

(56:47):
is a problem in the country and also not believe
that a woman alleging an individual rape means that that
rape happened. Same like, we have a real problem in
this country where people want to use use individual cases
to justify their worldview. Rape is a problem. Therefore, every
woman who says that she was raped is telling the truth. No, no, no,

(57:10):
that is not true. Right. You can in the same
way you can say racism in this country is that
is a problem. Therefore, everybody who alleges racism in this
country is telling the truth. No, no, no, this is
the flaw that we have worked our way into where
not only that, but if you're like me and you're
taking a step back and you say, wait a minute,
I don't think Ezekiel Elliott did this domestic violence thing.

(57:31):
I can get on Twitter and I get crushed right
because people are like, oh, well, you don't think Ezekiel
Elliott did this, So you don't believe that domestic violence
is a problem. You don't believe that Peyton Manning sexually
assaulted that girl when he mooned her twenty years ago,
so you don't believe that sexual assault is a problem.
You don't believe that Michael Bennett's story is true. By
the way, it isn't, And therefore you believe that racism

(57:54):
is not an issue in this country. None of those
things are true. You're putting the cart before the horse.
And I was in law school. I learned an important
lesson one of my law professors, and I found it
to be true in all the cases that I was
involved in. One of my law professors said, they are
the three most important things in every case. They are
the facts, the facts, and the facts. You focus on

(58:16):
the individual case that you are involved in, not the
larger global community, not the larger national issues. You don't
allow an individual case to become a focal point for
a larger issue. And this is what we're seeing happen
all the time in the media now right that u
V a gang rape case that ended up basically may
end up bankrupting Rolling Stone. Right, the story there was, oh,

(58:42):
these white fraternity guys gang rape to girl. Doesn't mean
that rape doesn't happen on college campuses if you don't
believe that individual girls story. But a lot of people
wanted to believe that story was true because it fit
their worldview. It blew up, it wasn't true, And the
same thing now has happened with Michael Bennett, and nobody
in the sport to media is actually taking responsibility for

(59:03):
the fact that they literally spread fake news, and even worse,
they didn't follow up and correct their wrong reporting. It
just needs to be fair on both sides, because remember
Gary on Conley, you covered that quite a bit on
this show, and he that was thrown out. They said
the girl was full of it. He wasn't charged with anything.
How much air time did that get? Not very much,

(59:25):
And the allege, the allegation gets a lot of attention.
But in this particular case, I think you know, you
have all this video, you have all this evidence. I
just think it's crazy that you can go out and
allege that these two Hispanic police officers and this black
police officer were racist, and then you guys, we played
the audio for you there in the responding to a

(59:45):
live shooting, and almost no one has covered it. So this,
this to me, is is evidence of and I've always
said this, and you can listen to this show and
you can criticize me for a lot. You don't have
to agree with everything that I say, As I always say,
you you can be wrong. I believe obviously that I'm
right with everything that I say. Sometimes I'm wrong rarely,
But what I always say is you learned very early

(01:00:07):
there are always at least two sides to a story.
And when you aggressively cover one side to a story
and don't aggressively cover other sides of a story, you
are telling on yourself. You are telling on yourself because
you are telling everybody out there what you want to
be true, and the media desperately wanted Michael Bennett to

(01:00:30):
be a victim of racism and for the police to
treat him badly, and when neither of those things happened,
and in fact both of those things are true, let
me ask you this question, why is Michael Bennett not
gonna get suspended by the NFL. There's a lot more
evidence that Michael Bennett lied about the Las Vegas Police
Department than there is that Ezekiel Elliott beat up a girl.

(01:00:55):
The NFL suspended Ezekiel Elliott for six games, even though
I don't believe he did anything wrong in terms of
being able to be proven to do things wrong, Like
ideally you don't ever want to get investigated for domestic assault, right,
But if you look at all the evidence there, I
don't believe the NFL was justified to suspend him for
six games. Okay, you actually look at the evidence and

(01:01:17):
review it. Similarly, this thing is an open and shut case.
We know that Michael Bennett wide, he was not profiled
based on his race, He was not mistreated. In fact,
the police, if anything, gave him NFL privilege. How many
dudes go out in Las Vegas without an I D.

(01:01:37):
Serious question for you all out there. Every I've been
a ton of people listening to me right now, have
been to Las Vegas. How many times have you been
out in Las Vegas without your driver's license? You can't
get in anywhere, you can't get a drink. I mean,
that's a place where they want you to have your
I D. It's not like Michael Bennett is in a
cocktail dress walking around in high heels. He's in jeans

(01:01:59):
and a Ready R's shirt. Why does he not have
his ID with him? Why does he Why does he
have to tell the police? Think about how cocky you
have to be when the police ask you for your
I D. You say, I'm Michael Bennett. I played for
the Seattle Seahawks. Look it up and then they pull
out their phones and the police officers have to look
you up on Google and then look at your image

(01:02:22):
and decide whether or not you're telling the truth. Can
you imagine being that cocky police officers stopped me? Can
you just think about if I did that? Police officers
stopped me. They say hey, Clay, Hey, do you have
your driver's license? I'm like no, uh, And then they
say okay, and I'm like, but I do a radio show.
My name is Clay Travis. You can just type in
my name and you can you can google me. Like

(01:02:44):
that's a pretty cocky move, right, That would be an
example of me using my quote unquote fame privilege to
the extent that I have any fame at all. Michael
Bennett does that, and or while an investigation for an
active shooter is going on, that Las Vegas Police Department
pulls up his picture, shakes his hand and lets him go,
and then he comes back and says they're racist. I

(01:03:05):
think there's a massive story. I want all of you
were listening to this right now go read that article
about Kick and ask yourself this question. Why am I
the only person out there that is talking about this case?
Why is everybody else dodging it? We'll talk about that
and more with Jeff Shorts up next here on out Kick.
I'm Clay Travis. This is Fox Sports Radio. Great news.

(01:03:28):
Quick way you can save money switched a Geico. Go
to Geico dot com and in fifteen minutes you could
say fifteen percent or more on car insurance. We're gonna
talk to Jeff Schwartz tomorrow. I just had to text him.
We just had a text him and bump him because
so many of you are calling in wanted to react
to this Michael Bennett story eight seven seven six three

(01:03:48):
six nine. Here's an example of what happened. Uh. Pete
Carroll tweeted this, which was liked twenty thousand times. By
the way, uh, Michael Bennett's story, which was not true,
was liked over seven a hundred thousand and retweeted over
seven hundred thousand times on social media, in addition to
all of the attention that it received in the media.

(01:04:08):
Here is what Pete Carroll tweeted his statement on August
about Michael Bennett. And I'm reading directly from Pete Carroll,
head coach of the Seattle Seahawks. He has not apologized
to the Las Vegas Police Department for any of what
he said. Here is what he said. Michael Bennett unfortunately
experienced a horrendous incident on August. We are thankful he

(01:04:30):
is safe and we take this opportunity to say we
stand in support of him and anyone facing inequalities. What
happened with Michael is a classic illustration of the reality
of inequality demonstrated daily May. This incident inspire all of
us to respond with compassion when inequalities are brought to
the light, and allow us to have the courage to
stand for change. We can do better. I would submit

(01:04:53):
to you that the Las Vegas Police Department could not
have done better. Those two Hispanic and one black police
officers perform warmed admirably. We played that video for you.
You can hear all their audio. They're responding to a
report of a live shooter. They believe that Michael Mittett
might be involved based on the suspicious way that he behaved.
You watch those videos, you can totally see what they

(01:05:15):
did was justified. There was zero racism. So is Pete
Carroll going to respond to the Las Vegas Police Department
for this? I just tweeted since Michael Bennett is a lying,
race baiting fraud. Haven't heard any response from the NFL,
which pointed out and which attacked the Las Vegas Police
Department officially from Roger Goodell. Haven't heard any response or

(01:05:37):
apology from the Seattle Police Department. And more importantly, I
haven't heard any of the media that was out there
beating the racism druma apologizing and being like, you know
what we were wrong. That's what happens in stories like these.
By the way, the story just disappears. The media doesn't
come out and say, hey, you know what, when we
accused those Las Vegas police officers who were gallantly doing

(01:05:58):
their job of being racist, sorry, we were actually wrong.
We believed Michael Bennett, and now he's a liar. And
I'm asking the question, why isn't Michael Bennett suspended under
the NFL Personal Conduct policy for this? He's a lot
more guilty than Ezekiel Elliott is. He called the NFL
got the nfled issue a statement, and the Seattle Seahawks

(01:06:18):
issue a statement saying the Las Vegas Police Department, who
we now know, by the way, pretty damn heroic, right
if you watched any of those shootings incidents on Sunday
responding to a live shooter incident, I think they've handled
themselves about as well as they could. They even said
to Michael Bennett, Hey, we don't want to be out
here dealing with you, and we potentially have got a
shooter inside the casino. Our goal was not to randomly

(01:06:40):
find you. We thought you might be the shooter based
on your suspicious behavior, the fact that you ran from us,
the fact that you tried to hide from us, the
fact that you didn't listen to our commands. We thought
you might be the guy that we're looking for. We're
trying to protect everybody here. Loaded lines. Let's go to
Jim and York, Pennsylvania. What's up, Jim. Excellent. I got

(01:07:02):
a kick out of you touched at my point, But
I gotta kick out of the fact that he drops
his name like I'm Michael Bennet, the football player, as
if someone that precludes him from never committing any crime.
I'm not sure if athletes have a committed a crime before. Like, great, yeah,
that's a that's a great point. But how about the
fact that he doesn't have an I D. I mean,
I just can't get over that. I've been to Vegas
probably fifteen or twenty times now, the idea that I

(01:07:23):
would not have an I D. Like I remember one
of my buddies lost his I D. We were out
there for a bachelor party. He couldn't get in anywhere, right,
You couldn't get into any party, You couldn't get into
any event, like any club anywhere, because they want your
I D. Like that's the number one thing you have
to do. And so this guy is out at a
Vegas casino and he doesn't even have an I D
on him, and he's just wearing jeans. Again, it's not

(01:07:44):
like he's a girl in a cocktail dress and he
lost his purse. I mean, he's a he's a dude
in jeans he has That's what he's saying, right, I
don't even need to carry an I D. I'm Michael Bennett.
That's what he said to the police. Yeah, yeah, you
heard that, Jim. Did they not behave as well? I
think about the stress that they're under. They are responding

(01:08:07):
to reports of a shooter in a casino. Think about
the stress that they are under. And they took the
time to explain to him before they even knew who
he was, exactly why they stopped him, exactly why they
treated him as they did. And Michael Bennett said he
understood that shook their hand. Left. Two weeks later, he
issues a statement saying that he was racially profiled. Yeah,

(01:08:28):
it's crazy, And like you said, you can submit that
they could not have handled that better in that situation.
They really couldn't have, right, That's my point. I mean, like,
thank you for the called Jim. If anything, the Las
Vegas Police Department should be praised for the way they
handled this. They couldn't have behaved any better with him,
and they got ripped and called racist. Two Hispanic guys

(01:08:48):
and a black guy who are working for the Las
Vegas Police Department. NFL called him racist. Pete Carroll called
him racist. All the media called him racist. Las Vegas
Police comes out. They absolutely nothing wrong. They were perfect
police officers. What happens only place you're hearing that Michael
Bennett is a liar out kick only place in all

(01:09:10):
the sports media. There are thousands of people out there
who covered the sports media for a daily living. Ain't
nobody writing about this? In Seattle. NBC did a puff
piece interview with Michael Bennett on Sunday Night Football after
this happened, After he was proven to be a race

(01:09:32):
baiting liar, they did a puff piece Michael Bennett is
an awesome dude interview. Michelle Tafoya asked Michael Bennett what
it was like playing in small shoulder pads. She didn't
ask him what's it like to call an entire police
department racist? Even though they didn't do anything racist. She
said what's it like to play in small shoulder pads? Mike,

(01:09:56):
NBC Sports should be ashamed, Fox Sports should be ashamed, CBS, ESPN, ABC, everybody,
Jacob and Winston say on what's up? Jacob? Yeah, thanks
for taking my call? Uh Uh. Different perspectives is that
even though the police might be black, and let's say

(01:10:17):
they were all black, the issue might not be that
the police were racists, but the system of how the
police are trained to handle people could be biased. Not necessarily.
There are hundreds of black people running around in that casino, Jacob.
If they were racist, why did they only pick one
black guy? I understand that also, I've seen the Vinho
It wasn't only black people. I've seen a lot of

(01:10:39):
other rances there too. But the issue is that the
police training is biased and they believe how are they
react to? How are they biased? Do you know what?
How their training is? That makes no sense? That makes
no sense, you know what? This is something you have
to consider if you want to understand by the airs

(01:10:59):
off else I want to say that, Uh, that wants
millions so for him to hide the way he's hiding.
Have you ever tried to hide millions of dollars. We
don't know what that's like to have millions. I have
millions of dollars. I know exactly what it's like. Okay,
so how okay? So we all react differently. You know
what I do when the police asked me to do something.

(01:11:20):
I listened to them, Jacob. When the police say, hey,
stop running, we're trying to figure out if there's a
shooter here, I listened to him. Yeah. But you know what,
are you used to police being in your neighborhood and
treating you a certain kind of way. Maybe I guarantee you,
Michael Bennett, I guarantee you Michael Bennett lives in a
pretty good neighborhood. Jacob, this is an awful call. Hang up, losing,
Let's move on. When he's been in Indiana, Like, people

(01:11:40):
get mad because I hang up on idiots. I'm not
gonna let idiots just continue to talk. Like Jacob calls in,
He's like, oh, do you know what it's like to
be a millionaire? Yeah? I do. I'm a millionaire. I
know exactly what it's like to be a millionaire. And
regardless of how much money I had. You know what
I do when a police officer tells me what to do.
I listened to him. When a police officer is responding
to a casino to an active shooter report, I don't

(01:12:02):
run and hide from the police. I don't try and
sprint from them when they say, hey, can we ask
you a question? And then guess what? I actually have
my I D When I go out in Las Vegas.
I don't say, hey, I'm Clay Travis. I work at
Fox Sports Radio. Look it up. If I was on
video doing that and I didn't have an I D,

(01:12:23):
you guys would be like, justifiably, why is Clay Travis
out in Las Vegas without a freaking I D. And
why is he telling the police to look him up
on Google so they can let him go? That would
be a pretty douche move by me, right, And then
if I followed it up by saying, Hey, all these police,
these Hispanic and these black guys, they're racist against me,

(01:12:45):
you'd be like, man, I think Fox Sports Radio should
fire Clay Travis. Certainly they shouldn't issue a statement saying, hey,
we support Clay Travis. Been in Indiana. What's up? Ben? Uh?
I just got a quick question. Um, I have zero
legal knowledge at all. Uh, but does this fall under

(01:13:05):
the slander defamation? You know, in the city or the
County of Las Vegas is in go back and suing
Michael Bennet with all this stuff that they've had to
go through after he blames them for racism. I mean,
is it possible they could have, uh, the terrible tragy
that happened on Sunday. Maybe they didn't, you know, maybe
they're worried about certain things and like how they approached

(01:13:26):
situations because of all the scrutiny they've been under because
of what he lied about. Yeah, I think again, in
light of what happened on Sunday, what I want to
do is just reinforced that the Las Vegas Police Department
did nothing wrong with Michael Bennett and is mostly filled
with heroes, right. I mean, I think that's the amazing
thing about this timing. On Friday, they have released these

(01:13:46):
videos saying Michael Bennett unfairly called this racist. On Sunday,
they are out there defending, along with the first responders,
all these innocent people that are getting mowed down on
the strip in Las Vegas. I mean, the irony of
this timing is unbelievable. Michael Bennett calls the Las Vegas
Police Department all racists. On Friday, they proved that he's

(01:14:06):
a liar. On Sunday we get the shooting, and these
guys are putting their lives on the line to save everybody.
As for what they can do legally, now, they really
it's it's hard for individual officers to sue. Right the
individual officers could sue Michael Bennett for defamation. They could,
and I would actually like to see that because maybe
that would get some attention. The challenges proving that they

(01:14:27):
were defamed because he didn't specifically name the officers right now,
they would have to say they became defamed because people
were aware of who they were. But that's a more
challenging case. I think. Look, I would love to see it.
I would love to see Michael Bennett get called into
court and have to answer for his lies. Uh for
all these videos, a hundred and ninety of them, to

(01:14:48):
be played for maybe the media to actually cover the
fact that Michael Bennett is a lying, race baiting liar.
I would love for all that to happen. It's just
a challenging case and it's a difficult one given again
and the fact that they weren't specifically identified. He didn't
say who specifically at the Las Vegas Police Department was racist.
Now you can say it's obviously the guys who interacted

(01:15:08):
with him, these two Hispanic and this black guy. But
I mean just a just a ridiculous case in general.
Continue to take your calls. Eight seven seven three six nine.
I'm Clay Travis. This is OutKick the coverage, great news.
Quick way you could save money switched to Geico. Go
to Geico dot com and in fifteen minutes you could
say fifteen per cent or more on car insurance. Most

(01:15:29):
honest place in sports media, you're gonna find the only
place that's pointing out that Michael Bennett is a lying
race baiting fraud, and nobody else is willing to say it.
I guess who's saying it. This dude, Bob in Texas.
Up next? What's up, Bob? Thanks for taking my appreciate it.
UM could not agree with you. I personally had twenty

(01:15:51):
two years of law enforcement, retired about ten years ago.
So when you hear that video, Bob, when you hear
that video, to me, it seems like given the circumstances
and the stress they're under, it's almost impossible for a
police department to have treated somebody better than they treated
Michael Bennett there. Oh, I hats off to the last
Vegas police department, not only in that situation, but of

(01:16:12):
course the shooting over the weekend. Um. And I hate
to say that people don't understand, but they feel that
I don't have to question authority. Now put my what
I'm getting out of this. Everybody wants the question a sthority.
You don't have to do what the police tell you
to do, which is totally wrong. And I've dealt with
that the last five years, especially with my law enforcement career,

(01:16:33):
that people would't listen and they tell me what authory
did you have? And I was always taught and raised
back in the day. If a police officer said, standard
the corn and spit Nickels for five minutes, YEA, hopefully
have two dollars in Nickels when I was done. But yeah,
it's just it's crazy, and I mean, i I'm like, um,

(01:16:53):
but I've spent years of being called the lass just
because I was a white police officer, which is produce
because everybody has prejudiced I'm prejudiced against terrorists, rapist drug
dealers and asparagus just don't like asparagus again something. But
for for someone to just a person I have a

(01:17:13):
raised creed colored, we don't do that. I'm sorry, Jacob,
if you're still listening. We do not train as police
officers to find the black person and go up to
black person just because he's black. Um. We have to
go out with insporation we're given and we have to
react to that. I think did we lose did we
lose Bob there? I think we might have lost Bob.

(01:17:35):
His phone dropped. Let's go to Randy. Appreciate the call
from Bob and Texas. Let's go to Randy and California.
It's up, Randy. Hey, how's it going to hear me? Yeah?
I got you great show in the morning. Hey. Uh
So a previous caller that mentioned that, you know, he said, hell,
have you ever lived in that kind of neighborhood? Well,
two things, I've lived in those kind of neighborhoods. I

(01:17:56):
lived in East Outland. I grew up in East l A.
But I also have police training. So based on me
growing up and now, it's kind of neighborhoods. I know
that I have to listen to an officer. I know that, Hey,
when he tells you put your hands up, you do
it because there's consequences when you don't. Yeah, And also,
I mean think about how much more dangerous it makes it? Right?

(01:18:18):
I mean, if Michael Bennett just stops when those cops say, hey,
can you stop? He talked, They talked to him, They say, hey,
why are you trying to hide from us? Why are
you behaving suspiciously compared to everybody else? He says, Man,
you know what, I'm sorry, i just freaked out a
little bit here. I'm Michael Bennett. Like, you can look
me up, you can pat me down if you want.
I got no weapon. I'm just trying to get home.
I got kids. Got pats him down based on training,

(01:18:40):
based on my police training. You don't. There's you don't.
You don't profile. There's public records that when they go
when you go to court, they ask you, they look
at your public records, what what ethnicity you mostly percentage?
Why did you stopped? And everything comes to light when
you when when that comes to light and you only
stop when you only Hispanic or African American, that comes

(01:19:03):
to light in some facts. So you learned based on
how you approach and you interact with people. That's basically
life experience. And most of the people that make that
kind of money, they don't stay in those neighborhoods for
a reason because they can't have nice things in those neighborhoods.
They get taken advantage of, but their mindset never changes.
That's the end of my call. Appreciate the call. Thanks

(01:19:23):
for what you're doing for us. I've got loaded lines.
I'll continue to take your calls. To start our three,
we'll go to Britt mckenry. She joins us every single Wednesday.
Let's see if I can get Kevin in Virginia in here. Kevin,
what's up, hey, Claire. Just want to say thank you
for bringing this issue to light. Um. I'll be honest,
the first time I heard about it was Monday morning,
when you were the only person talking about it. Isn't
that crazy that the only person in sports media covering

(01:19:46):
this story the only person? And I called my local
show later in the day and immediately got dumped as
soon as I brought it. As soon as I questioned it,
he said, I'm not talking politics today. Thank you, hung
up the phone and that was it. End of discussion
moved on um and it's crazy the last two collars.
You know, law enforcement training nowadays, everything is so pc
there is no absolutely no profiling. Every training you go to,

(01:20:09):
it's all the all the bases are covered. They're not
going to teach that stuff. So I just love when
the idiots just go to that argument when they have
no idea. It's a lazy argument. Again, i'd encourage you
to go watch the videos. I praised the Las Vegas
Police Department for their restraint in this case, for the
way that they handled things, so the way they explained
things to to Michael Bennett, this is exactly what you
want cops to do. And for doing all this, they

(01:20:32):
were publicly branded racists and now the media is not
covering the fact that they did nothing wrong. Eight seven
seven three six nine. Will take your calls to start
our three on this story. Again, encourage you to go
check it out at out kick dot com if you
want more details on it. I am Clay Travis. You
are listening to OutKick the Coverage. Your calls up next.
Also Britt mckenry. Our three rolling next on OutKick the Coverage,

(01:20:55):
coming to you alive from the get go Outkicks Studios
where fifteen minutes could save you fift center Moron Car Insurance.
Visit Geico dot com for a free rate quote. Eight
seven seven six three six nine is our phone number.
Britt mckenry will join us in the next segment and
we'll talk about this story. And what I always tell
you is I will be as honest as I possibly

(01:21:19):
can every day on this radio show. And sometimes we
have ridiculous funds. Sometimes we go in serious directions, and
one of these days is when we're spending a little
bit time on a serious issue, and it's one that
I am stunned is not getting more attention in the
world of sports media. You recall that, Michael Bennett, if
you're just waking up today. Michael Bennett, Seattle Seahawk defensive

(01:21:41):
a lineman, said several weeks ago that he had been
racially profiled by the Las Vegas Police Department when they
were responding to reports of an active shooter in the
wake of the Mayweather McGregor fight. And as part of
that incident, he says that they saw him that he
was a black man, and so they called him and
they threatened him, and that he was mistreated and that's

(01:22:03):
why he's not standing for the national anthem. He released
this big statement said this is equality, like ridiculing the
Las Vegas Police, calling them all racist, saying they racially
profiled him, everything else. Las Vegas Police say this is
the first they had heard of it. They initially said
we're going to conduct an investigation. On Friday afternoon, they
said they had reviewed one hundred and ninety three different

(01:22:26):
videos from this incident, and they had called Michael Bennett
and his attorney and they had said, hey, we'll send
you all one hundred and ninety three different versions of
this video that we have watched. We see nothing that
our police officers did that was inappropriate. Michael Bennett and
his attorney, not surprisingly, did not respond at all to
that offer from the Las Vegas Police Department over a

(01:22:48):
hundred and ninety different videos. As part of their statement
on Friday, they released a video here where you can
hear all of the interaction between the Las Vegas Police
and Michael Bennett. What happened. I'm gonna play that video
for you again here because I'm the only place in
media that's doing this. What happened in that video. I
want to kind of walk you through this process. This

(01:23:10):
is in the wake of the Mayweather McGregor fight. There
is a report that there is a shooting in this casino.
The Las Vegas Police respond. It's a chaotic situation. Obviously,
in the wake of what happened Sunday. It's actually fairly
easy for a lot of people to visualize what that
might have looked like because of the shooting that actually
happened on Sunday in Las Vegas. So there is a

(01:23:33):
report of a shooting. It later emerges that there was
not a shooting in this casino, but the Las Vegas
Police respond. They have their weapons drawn. They're going through
the casino looking for this shooter. Okay. In the midst
of their working their way through the casino, there on
the ground floor where everybody is pouring out. Most of

(01:23:53):
the audience in this casino is black. If you go
watch the videos, you can see all of these live
video at the time from the Las Vegas Police inside
of the casino walking towards what they believe is an
active shooter situation in danger right. They have their weapons drawn.
In that video, you can see Michael Bennett behaving strangely.

(01:24:15):
He comes across directly in front of the police crouching
and then he hides behind a slot machine when he
is approached by the police officers to talk to him
and ask him why and everybody, why are you standing
out and behaving so strangely. Again, you can see him
walk in front of the police officers, behaving strangely and

(01:24:37):
go try and hide. The police officers think, oh, maybe
this is the shooter that we're looking for. They approach
him so they can talk to him. When they do that,
he takes off at a full sprint and refuses to
listen to their commands to stop. They eventually catch him
after he leaps over a wall in a Las Vegas street.

(01:24:58):
They handcuff him and then they duct a surge to
see whether or not he might be the shooter, to
see whether or not he might have a weapon. They
then walk him to the back of the police cruiser
and talk him through why they did exactly what they did.
The entire process takes right at ten minutes. Okay, they

(01:25:18):
have now released The Las Vegas Police have this video
and this audio from that incident. Inside of that conversation,
they tell Michael Bennett exactly why they behaved as they did.
He says he understands why. He bet that why they
behaved the way they did. They shake his hand and
they release him. Another important aspect here, Michael Bennett doesn't

(01:25:40):
have an idea on him. He tells people. He tells
the police officers, I play for the Seattle Seahawks, look
me up. And so they look him up on their phone,
confirmed that he's Michael Bennett and let him go even
though he doesn't have any I D. I ask you this,
if you've ever been to Las Vegas, what kind of
idiot do you have to be to go out in
Las Vegas without an I D? The dudes wearing jeans

(01:26:02):
and a regular shirt. If anything, the Las Vegas Police
Department could not have been more professional. I'm gonna play
this audio for you again. It begins with the spokesperson
for the Las Vegas Police Department, and then you start
to hear the audio from the officers as they say
he's running, does he have a gun and they're chasing him?
All right, here is what happened to Michael Bennett. And

(01:26:25):
then we're gonna continue to talk about this. I think
it's amazing eight seven seven, six three six nine. If
you want to react, but I want you to listen
live to this Las Vegas police interview. Remember also, these
are two Hispanic guys and a black guy, three minority
cops that are interacting with Michael Bennett that he then
calls racist. The Seattle Seahawks endorset, Pete Carroll endorses that,

(01:26:48):
the NFL endorses it. Nobody but me is talking about this.
Listen to the audio. So the highlighted here you'll see
Mr Bennett up here in the crows stands and proceeds.
In the rear of the slot machines are and we
have two officers that are looking trying to evaluate what's
going on. Ahead, Stop what I don't think I'm gonna

(01:27:34):
come up, Get up, Get up, man up, stand up
and take you back to my car. I don't up
to listen, mine down, come mar tg your hair now.
We'll get right before. Don't get me, I get it
right now? What am I gonna right here with the

(01:27:56):
street still okay? No problem that I'm just do you
even said we hear somebody shooting in there. Everyone's down.
You're learning I'm turning to get much. Yeah, stop stop talking.
I understand, but used to understand how that looks though. Okay,
you're not in underright, We're gonna get you out of here, okay,
but we just had to make sure. Right now, all

(01:28:17):
we know is people are shooting in there is what
we're hearing. And then you're running away. So we're making
sure that it's not you. Now come out, and if
it's not you, we we don't have time to be
out here talking in your name. Give an idea, and
you know, man is Michael. Okay, you have a Michael
Bennett I mentioned, but if I can get a picture
of him, football approve you do recleize them. Okay, I believe. Okay,

(01:28:49):
it's unfortant, but you have to do it. Okay, and
we don't know people are showing that. So when you're
yelling at us, we just need to get you there.
That sorr you got happened. But the other yeah, you
gotta go that right, They shake hands. Michael Bennett goes off.
He says, I'm Michael Bennett, Seattle Seahawks will look it up.
He doesn't even have an I d. The police to

(01:29:11):
me behaved about as responsibly and appropriately as they possibly could.
And yet Michael Bennett then says, these two hispanic and
this black police officer are racist. They racially profiled him. Again,
you look at the video, you can see that he's
behaving in an abnormal fashion. They had reasonable suspicion responding
to reports of a police shooting that something abnormal might

(01:29:32):
be going on, and so that's why they responded the
way they did. Let's go to your calls, Roy and Cincinnati.
What's up, Roy? One man? Um, I would just like
to say, I have two quick points to make. One
is when you said that, I want to caution you,
Um for the terminology used and calling him a race

(01:29:54):
baiting liar. Yeah, he is a race baiting what liar?
I'm not gonna caut wh Why should you cast Did
you caution him when he called the police officers racist?
The only the only reason I'll cast him, you were saying,
it is just for the simple fact that this because
you know, we we listened to audio and we watch
a video Um of what happened. It doesn't necessarily mean

(01:30:14):
that Michael Bennett himself didn't feel profiled against. But if
it's not true, when you call somebody racist, you understand, Roy,
When you call somebody racist, that's an attack. And when
you call a police officer racist, you are publicly condemning them, right,
It's hard for a police officer to come back from
a public figure and the Seattle Seahawks and the NFL

(01:30:37):
all calling the Las Vegas police department racist. Right, That's
very true. But I'm just saying, as as far as
from audio and video, you definitely can't tell or whether
whether or not you know you can tell. I would
encourage you to go to outcape dot com and look,
it's it's totally illogical that he is arguing that he
was profiled based on his race. From video and audio,

(01:31:00):
you can't tell us somebody felt that there are roy
there are hundreds of black people in this casino, Michael Bennett.
If he was being singled out for his race, why
did they let the other hundreds of black people go.
I'm pretty sure there were hundreds of white people there.
There were not. You gonna watch this video, it's almost
all black, and you think that of that, these two

(01:31:22):
hispanic cops in this black cop were just like, hey,
let's just go pick this random black guy out while
we're investigating a police shooting because we're racist. I mean, hey,
he I'm saying he possibly could have been lying. I'm
just saying you can't tell from video and audio whether
or not a person felt profound against That's all I'm saying.
Oh yeah, so I disagree. Thanks for the call. If
you call somebody a racist, which Michael Bennett did, and

(01:31:44):
then there are a hundred and ninety different videos that
come out that proved that nothing that you said is true,
how is it anything other than him being a race
baiting liar. Why is saying that he's a race baiting
liar wrong? You fe falsely call to Hispanic and black
police officers for in Las Vegas racist because of the

(01:32:05):
way that they treated you. We just played you the
way that they treated you. There was no racism involved
at all. To me, that makes you a race baiting liar.
You're trying to draw attention to something which is untrue,
and you're trying to use your race to do it,
and at the same time you're trying to attack these
Las Vegas police officers, which were doing their damn nous

(01:32:27):
to do their job. They're responding to reports of a
live shooting in a casino and you're behaving inappropriately. What
do you expect him to do? Maurice in New York.
What's up? Yes, listen, I'm a plank guy that's gonna
trying to right now. Man. See, here's the deal, Worries.

(01:32:50):
You don't have to redeem the race because I don't
judge people based on their race. I judge people based
on their individuality, which is what I think we should
do in this in this society. Right, Like I didn't
judge the Zekiel Eliott to be a the bestic combuser
because he's a dude, right. And I understand some guys
beat up women. But just because some guys beat up
women doesn't mean an individual guy beat up a woman.
And just because there's some people who are racist, doesn't

(01:33:12):
mean that an individual cop is racist. Well, listen, these
guys have a worldview or pass their own. And Land
has a black guy leaving the house. I have to
contet myself on my own. People sotwn. This is crazy.
What's the matter what these dood Maurice. It really does.
I was in the military police and we went not

(01:33:34):
there to hurt nobody. Were you here? So you're in
the military police, Maurice. When you hear these guys talking
to Michael Bennett, considering they're responding to a high stress
situation potentially active shooter. It seems to me like they
treated him about as well as they possibly could, right, Like,
when I hear that, I'm like, man, that's incredibly professional.
They told him exactly why they stopped him, They shook

(01:33:55):
his hand, he didn't have an idea on him, they
let him go. He said he under stood why they
stopped him live on the on the video like, I
don't know what more they could have done in that circumstance.
And then he faked him out at the end like
he was okay, and it was to the NFL are
unless you god, dude, sum Hills Man. Yeah, I'm a

(01:34:19):
little upset about it, but I do understand the path
that these people are all. Isn't it crazy to you,
Maurice that the only place you're gonna hear about this
is on OutKick? Like I mean, if you were a cop,
if you got accused of being racist, wouldn't you want
people to say when the video came out, Hey, Maurice
didn't do anything wrong at all. Here's the video, like
these two Hispanic guys in this black guy did nothing wrong. Clay.

(01:34:40):
I would have took my own cub down. I appreciate
the call, Marie sole See, I'm gon trying to get
all your calls in before we go to Britt mckenry.
Let's be quick here, Gregg and Virginia. What's up? Greg? Hey,
Hey Clay. Yeah, I've got a guessing from Michael Bennett
and the others that want to be critical throughout these
allegations against them. Please and that's uh, you know, go

(01:35:01):
for a ride along the country wall offer the ride along,
attach Michael Bennett to the hip of the officer, and
you go into these high crime areas and have him
next to the police officer that pulls over a suspicious
vehicle and see what it feels like. Greg. That is
the best advice that I've given that advice on this
show before. Thanks for the call. I I have given

(01:35:22):
that advice a time when I was in law school.
I got to go do a ride around and it's
forever changed my impressions of police officers. If you get
an opportunity on a night to go do a ride
around with a police officer and see what they do
on a night tonight, basis, your entire world view will change.
I've told everybody who's a young lawyer, you're in the

(01:35:43):
law school. This is something I think should be mandated
as part of the legal training that you actually do
some boots on the ground experience with a police officer
on a on a night, go out with them overnight
night shift and see what it's like to be with
the police officer for a night and your impressed. And
just like by the way the embedded journalists when they
were with the soldiers overseas, it will change in a heartbeat.

(01:36:06):
You will never view things the same way again. It's
easy to be on the sideline and say, oh, that
police officer should have done X, Y or Z. You
get in a cruiser with them in real time and
experience things from their perspective, you will have so much
for respect for police officers. I think everybody should have
to do it, honestly, but certainly if you're a young lawyer,
if you're somebody who's interested in being involved in the law,

(01:36:28):
do it. Uh, let's go to last Call. Then we're
gonna go to Britt mckenry for the next segment. Chris
in Huntington's Beach, What's up, Hey, what's up? Clay? Living
the dream? My man? Awesome Hey, man, I can't agree
with you more about this whole Michael Bennon thing. He
definitely deserves apologize to Las Vegas police. You know what

(01:36:52):
I'm saying. It's been eight years in the Army Infantry,
one tour overseas and f can stand. So I know
what these cats are going through, especially when you're going
through a an active shooter. You know, you're just you're
trying to find the guy. You're adrenaline going that crazy,
right Chris So To me, when I see the way

(01:37:12):
they guys responded to him, I'm like, my god, these
guys couldn't have performed any better, Like they couldn't in
this situation, think about it, especially in the light of
the shooting that we just saw, for them to exactly
explain what happened to him, explain why he was detained,
apologize for detaining him, and shake his hand, like, I
don't know what more you want the Las Vegas Police
Department to do? Oh yeah, And that's why if you

(01:37:35):
watch the video, they're stacked up on each other. It's
not like they're just cruising through the casino, you know,
trying to like pinpoint one dude. No, they're like weapons
up looking for the shooter, all in the line, hooding
each other, communicating what you need to be doing looking
for a shooter, you know what I'm saying. So, yeah,
the adrenaline is pumping, and for him to just take

(01:37:59):
off running, yeah, I get it, you know what I'm saying.
And then even better for the last veggat police department.
You know, if a regular dude like us would have said, oh,
I don't have an idea, guess what, we would have
probably been detained for maybe I don't know, hours until
they figure out who you are. You know, now you're
just wasting time, your own time. You're uncomfy because they're

(01:38:21):
in handcuffs, you know what I'm saying. So the fact
that these guys have sat around for like two or three,
five minutes however long it was, after they detain them
and then let him go, that's awesome. I wish that
should happen to me. Yeah, no kidding, thanks for the call.
When Michael Bennett says Michael Bennett, Seattle, Seahawks, look it up.
The dude is in Vegas and he doesn't have an
I D. And he tells the police officers. Michael Bennett, Seattle,

(01:38:44):
Seahawks look it up, like, pull your phone out, bitch
and look me up. How much more entitled can you be? Again?
To me? The cops behaved about as admirably as they
can in that situation. Certainly they did on Sunday as well.
I'm trying to give the loss of a s p
D their good name back to the extent that they
lost it with these allegations that Michael Bennett made. And

(01:39:05):
I think the Seattle Seahawks and the NFL and Pete
Carroll and Michael Bennett should all apologize for the falsehoods
that they helped spread. I am Clay Travis. Upnext is
Britt mckenry. You're listening to kick the coverage here on
Fox Sports Radio. Great news. Quick way you could save
money switched to Geico. Go to Geico dot com and
in fifteen minutes you could say fifteen percent or more

(01:39:28):
on car insurance as well. During last batteries designed to
stand up to even the most extreme weather conditions. They're
built with patented technology to reduce damage due to vibration
and deliver the most power during startup. They've proven tough
and sold only at Auto Zone. Get in the Zone,
Auto Zone Zoint Join Now in the Zone by Britt mckinry. Britt,
we have been talking about this Michael Bennett case. I

(01:39:50):
know you've paid attention to it as well. The Seahawks,
the NFL, Michael Bennett himself, they all condemned the Las
Vegas Police Department for being racist. Then the videos come
out on Friday, and I think, Okay, this will probably
get some coverage. Maybe NBCCBS, Fox and ESPN will cover
the fact that the Las Vegas Police Department did nothing wrong.

(01:40:12):
We've been playing those videos here on the show. Can
you believe that this story has not been covered? And
why isn't it being covered? I actually can believe it's
not being covered because it doesn't fit into this social
justice um pioneer story that some network that I won't

(01:40:34):
name names want to constantly push down people's throats. And
but I am shocked that it's not And you and
I have communicated a little bit about it because he
blatantly lied, like, how how can you how can you
say that he didn't because his whole statement when he
put it on Twitter, it was titled a quality and

(01:40:58):
if you remember, as I'm sure you, I'm discussed get
on the show, everything centered around as as Michael Bennett
was quoted in his statements saying being a black man
at the wrong place at the wrong time. Okay, so
let's leave the possibility in their clay that maybe there

(01:41:18):
was some excessive force used that isn't quite captured in
what what did they say? They have like a hundred
nine different videos of this incident that they offered to
Michael Bennett and his attorney and they haven't accepted them,
but they reviewed all of them to determine whether there
was any evidence that their officers had behaved inappropriately at all. Yeah. So,

(01:41:41):
but let's just leave a little sliver of that because
you know, someone like Beaumonti Jones will just no matter
what logic you put out there, will say, well, it
was edited and leave room for that possibility. I would
say to that, Okay, if there is so much excessive
force use, why was he shape in the hands of
the police officers afterwards and he didn't have his ID

(01:42:05):
on him? Okay, So the police officers were nice enough
to be looking him up on Google when he said
he told them that he said to them, I'm Michael Bennett,
Seattle Seahawks. Look it up, Like you are a girl,
so you've probably been out in Vegas. I would imagine
a few times, Like I can understand, like I'll carry
my wife's I D sometimes in my wallet because you know,

(01:42:26):
she's got a cocktail dress on or whatever. She doesn't
want to carry a purse. Like there are no pockets
and tight dresses like I and high heels and stuff
like that. I can understand how a girl could be
out in Las Vegas and not have her I D.
I have no earthly idea how a man wearing jeans
does not have an I D with him when he's
out in Las Vegas, right, I just I can't even

(01:42:47):
conceive of how it's possible exactly. And also if that
was you play or or me and and Flack we
we get sometimes from different piece bowl and and media outlets.
If one of us or anyone else had like started
bragging to a cop about who we were and like

(01:43:08):
look us up online, like I think there would be
way more people would be It would be everywhere. Dead
Spin would like fall over themselves to put up a
video of if it were me had been detained in
Las Vegas and I did nothing wrong, and I and
they were like, Hey, do you have an I D.
And I was like, no, but I'm Clay Travis. Uh
you know, Uh Clay Travis. I do radio. I run

(01:43:29):
a website called out kick the Coverage. Look it up
like that would be everywhere, right, like people would put
that everywhere. And the same thing for you too. You're like,
I'm Britt mckenry. I'm on TV. Uh look it up
like it would be everywhere. Michael Bennett does it and
everybody's like, oh, yeah, sure he doesn't have his. And again,
I'm willing to give a pass to a girl because
I've been out in Vegas. I guarantee you that I've

(01:43:49):
been out in Vegas. I know I have with my
wife or she goes out to a to a nice
place and she's like, I don't want to carry my
purse with me. I don't want to have to carry
like here's my I D and here's my lip ball.
Put this in your pocket and carry it. Every guy
has done that for a girl at some point. So
if my wife got de Sain and she didn't have
her I D in Vegas and she was in a
cocktail dress or something, I'd be like, Okay, I understand

(01:44:10):
how that happens. I don't understand how Michael Bennett's out
in Las Vegas without an i D. Wearing jeans and
a and a button down shirt exactly. And yeah, to
that point of dead Spin, like they've written too in
depth articles attempting to smear me Clay simply by going
on Fox News, Like, so, yes, to to that point,
they would crush both of us if we had said

(01:44:33):
some lar and lots of other places by the way,
online just because they would be like, Oh, I want
an opportunity to tee off on these two people, right,
Like it's a it's a totally absurd situation, but there's
no doubt that it would happen. And so it's like, yeah,
so how do you not have an idea on you
after going to the fight being at a casino? You know,
immediately my head and I'm thinking, since he was hiding

(01:44:55):
behind the slot machine and running away from the cops,
like what were you throwing out of your pocket? It's okay,
that's kind of questionable. And then he says there's a
direct exchange where the officer tells him, yeah, you're running
away from us. You you know what that looks like right,
and he says yes, like he says yeah, so he

(01:45:18):
acknowledges that it looks sketchy. He was running away, shakes
the hands of the officers before he leaves, and then
ten days later goes and tries every effort possible to
get attention to this and to falsely accuse these police
officers of racially profiling him, which did not happen. And oh,
by the way, with Sheriff Joe Lombardo and the rest

(01:45:40):
of the Las Vegas police officers, thank you for being
there because as we just saw a couple of days
ago with fifty nine people murdered and how many did
they say injured? Clay Yeah, who was on the ground
helping capture the shooter and helping these people get into safety.
It was Las Vegas police officers, among other people as well,

(01:46:03):
volunteers on the ground. But that is why we need
our police officers and stories that are completely focused like
Michael Bennett, just discredit anything they're trying to pioneer. First
of all, in terms of combating racism, it just weakens it.
And second of all, it really attacks men and women

(01:46:23):
who we should be grateful we had the past couple
of days, no doubt we're talking to Brit mckenry and
including those two Hispanic police officers and that black police officer.
Very good chance that those three people were involved in
both that response to the Michael Bennett alleged shooting in
the casino that that led to the Michael Bennett incident
and the actual shooting that took place on Sunday. Very

(01:46:44):
good chance that those cops that he called racist were
out there trying to protect people of all racist creeds, genders,
and backgrounds and catch this this this madman who was
out there shooting people. Now, Brit, I want to you
you are more in the traditional line of journalists, right.
I've always been kind of on the opinion side of things.
I try to get facts right. I think it's important.
I think people who listen to the show know that.

(01:47:06):
But Sunday Night, so we're talking about the lack of
coverage of the fact that Michael Bennett's story has blown
up and been proven to be untrue. Sunday Night, NBC
does a puff piece interview with Michael Bennett even after
this incident happens on Friday. I haven't seen anybody criticizing

(01:47:26):
NBC from a journalistic perspective. We have done a bunch
of interviews before on this show that we've taped, you know,
over the course of a year where major news has happened,
and we've been like, you know what, we can't run
that interview. Let's just toss it. How in the world
does NBC still run the Michael Bennett interview and not
discuss the fact that the Las Vegas Police has put

(01:47:48):
out this evidence that he lied about the most famous
thing that he's been involved in off the field, Like
that seems like a really big detail to not even
address in any way for NBC. Yeah, I did not
see it, but I've had several people say that, not
just Klay and bringing up that it was uh totally

(01:48:10):
complimentary of him fitting this narrative and that they didn't
mention anything, and I don't. I don't know how that happens.
My initial response would be, Okay, maybe whoever was whoever
was fronting the story, maybe they come up with a
stand up and they discussed that. A hundred and ninety
more clips of video were brought to light on Friday,

(01:48:31):
include a statement from from the sheriff. But even then,
it's just like a throwaway line or two. I don't
know how that isn't isn't fixed? Or like torpedo? Yeah right.
I mean you've you've probably done a bunch of interviews
over your time at ESPN where you interview somebody and
then a major news story breaks, which means that you

(01:48:53):
can't run that interview because it would have literally been
the lead question you would have asked, right, and you're like, well, crap,
we put a lot of time an effort into this,
but we can't be running an interview with Michael Bennett
if I'm Michelle Tafoya where I asked him, hey, what's
it like to play in small shoulder pads? When the
Las Vegas Police Department has just put out a hundred
and ninety videos basically proving that you're a liar? Right,

(01:49:16):
I mean, like, how in the world does that happen
at NBC. Who's sitting around saying, oh, yeah, that's a
good idea. I have no idea, because I'm with you,
I don't know how. You know, there's those the typical
media critics and websites online that specifically just look at
what sports media does or doesn't do, and and you

(01:49:39):
know that the typical people they praise play and I
just this is something once again, if it was another
person in the media, and let's say we slipped the narrative,
like we flip it as as in the new information
that came to light work claims that supported Michael Bennett,
like it just the reverse of it. You would be killed.

(01:50:00):
You would just totally be crushed in from the media blockers.
And they're just not. I don't know. It's a narrative
that I think a lot of people want to push.
And it's sad because, like you said, facts are facts,
and watch that video. I don't know how you don't
discuss that. Yeah, And this is I think disappointing because
again you you hit on this and we're talking to

(01:50:20):
Britt mckenry. But if Michael Bennett's true goal is equality,
in order for equality to exist, there has to be
what trust, right, there has to be mutual trust, there
has to be mutual uh, mutual respect. And all this
does is the police department is like, man, we didn't
do anything wrong here at all, and we're still getting
accused of racism. And if there's actual racism, it makes

(01:50:43):
pizza like the boy who cried Wolf right, Like now,
people are gonna look at it and be like, oh,
why should I believe this guy when Michael Bennett was
the one out there lying and Britt I've been saying this.
There's so much attempts to use stories to justify worldviews.
And I talked about this with Ezekiel Elliott too. You
can simultaneously have two contradictory opinions in your mind. Right,

(01:51:03):
you can believe that domestic violence is awful and happens
far too regularly, and simultaneously believe that, even having believed that,
there isn't enough evidence that Ezekiel Elliott committed domestic violence. Right,
And you can simultaneously believe rape is an awful crime,
and every single time that rape is alleged does not

(01:51:24):
mean that a rape happened. And similarly, you can believe
that racism is an awful flaw that exists in our
country and not believe that every time somebody alleges racism
it's accurate. Yet a lot of people in the media
can't do that. No, And and when you and I
both respectively do that, it's I've seen it, either by

(01:51:46):
my responses or what people say to you. You get
tagged like, oh, you're you insensitive or you're a racist,
And I don't understand it because I actually do believe
strongly that that unfortunately exists, and I do think those
things should be fixed. But when, yeah, when you falsely

(01:52:07):
accuse someone of that, you're really damaging someone's career in
life potentially, and it's taking away from the focus and
what should be done to eradicate things like that, you
know what, Britain. It's also like, my point on this
would be, it's just as racist to believe that somebody
is telling the truth because they're black as it was

(01:52:28):
to believe that somebody's not telling the truth because they're black,
right like. And it's just as sexist to not believe
a woman as to believe a woman, right like. You
can't use somebody's background to justify whether they're telling the
truth in a particular story. Yet that seems to be
the way society swings, right we don't We go from
not treating people evenly to trying to over exaggerate and

(01:52:52):
treat them more fairly, and the result is an individual circumstances.
That's how you end up with cases like Ducal Across
or the uv a gang rape case where the media
is out here covering a story and trying to use
that story to justify the worldview instead of looking at
the specific facts of a case or to be fair
Ezekiel Elliott right now, Like, I think Ezekiel Elliott got

(01:53:13):
suspended because Roger Goodell was too lenient on ray Rice. Well,
there's a video of ray Rice knocking out his girlfriend.
We know what happened. We have no idea whether Ezekiel
Elliott did anything wrong at all. Yet I believe he
got punished because of the Ray Rice situation. Yeah, it's
it's just unequal treatment. And in the Michael Bennett case,

(01:53:33):
I'm like, you're on the strip, how do how do
you not think that this video is going to come
to light because you made it that way? You did
this tech case, nobody would have ever known about it
at all if Michael Bennett doesn't put out this statement
on Twitter. Yeah, Like if I'm if I'm him was
a victim of a video editing before, I would be
just that it wasn't out there in the public before

(01:53:58):
my first did nobody know what happened? Though? Yeah, nobody
captured video of me schedually running away and telling officers
that Oh, I'm um so and so on such a
big deal, look me up, because I don't have my
idea on me. I would be grateful that stuff wasn't
out there. So he brought attention to this himself. And
and that's the difference I think when people are pointing out, well,

(01:54:20):
it was an edited tape. You're in Las Vegas. How
do you not realize that video is going to come
to light and definitely show you in a not so
positive light considering these allegations weren't true. Yeah, And for
people out there who are saying, oh, it's an edited tape,
of course it is. There's a hundred and ninety three
different versions of the tape like they're trying to give

(01:54:40):
you the best version that they have. They offered all
hundred and ninety three different versions to Michael Bennett and
his attorney to have to their to be able to review.
They said, we looked at these and found no evidence
to support your allegations. You're welcome to look at these
as well yourself. There's nothing here. And I think that's
a big deal. Britt. How can people follow you on
Twitter at Burt McHenry send the love and hate my

(01:55:04):
way and Britt's gonna join us every Wednesday and Hour three,
So if you enjoy her on the show, you can
reach out tell her thanks for coming on anything else
I need to know, Brett before we let you go. Uh,
just that I think the y that the Twins should
have called the bullpen much earlier. Last night, By the way,
before I let you go, you covered Carolina a lot. Um.

(01:55:26):
How surprised were you to see them go into Foxborough
and win? Not really? I think that last year was
an aberration. Uh. They made some changes to that defense,
which they really needed to because their secondary was just
awful last year. You know, they did nothing. They let
Josh Norman go, did nothing to fix it. So um,
I wasn't surprised. I'm always seeped down at Carolina fan.

(01:55:48):
I think after covering them outstanding stuff. As always, Britt
will talk to you next week. Try to stay out
of trouble between now and then. Remember your I D
wherever you go, Britt. You don't want to have to
tell people to look at up on the on the internet. Okay,
that's Brit mckinry. Follow her on Twitter at Britt mckenry.

probably should have gone to Geico dot com fifteen minutes ago.
I have open d MS. You can find me on
Twitter at Clay Travis uh. And let's see making friends,
influencing people happy thoughts. Kill yourself, stupid, effing prick. I

(01:57:15):
hope you die one day soon, preferably and also painfully.
Also a preference, but willing to accept. Otherwise, go f yourself.
Appreciate the tolerance in terms of how we'd want me
to die. Um e j Manuel fan account. This guy's
a Raiders fan, just like you. Danny g Uh says
you are a effing homosexual slur. Honestly, F you please

(01:57:38):
get in a violent car accident, only then will this
society be a better place. Effing stupid gay slur. So
you know what I mean? This is what I do.
You know, I make the world a better place and
make everybody happier. They all want me to die. You
know who died almost this guy who fought with a
twenty three ft python. It's time for animal thunderdome, ladies

(01:58:08):
and gentlemen. I'm just glad I was scared. Boys and goods.
I thought he thought I was like this ginormous piece
of chicken dime times here this is animal thunder dog.
I don't know what goes on on these Indonesian islands,
but evidently they have these pythons that are like twenty

(01:58:31):
three ft long. Now twenty three ft to put this
into perspective, I believe I'm correct. A free throw is
fifteen feet? Am I correcting that? For like a basketball
mac basketball game, So this would be a python longer
than a three pointer in the NBA, Like you start
underneath the rim and it goes all the way out

(01:58:51):
to the three point line. It makes me chilled just
to think about a snake this big. All right, This
thirty seven year old Indonesian dude is writing his moped
home when he sees a twenty three ft python blocking
the road and nobody can cross the road, and so
he decided to saying he decided, I don't know why

(01:59:12):
to take the get the python out of the road.
So he said, I tried to catch it. It bit
my arm and we wrestled for a while. And this dude,
there's pictures of him up. He got into a fight
with a twenty three foot python and the python tried
to eat him, and he's got all sorts of issues. Now.

(01:59:32):
The Guinness World Record for the longest snake ever is
a snake called Medusa that was twenty five ft and
two inches long. You may remember a prior animal Thunderdome
from this same area in Indonesia. When our guy, if
I remember his name, I think his name was Akbar.
I think his name was Akbar. Like then the Star
Wars area, he got eaten, Like he got eaten by

(01:59:55):
one of these giant pythons. This dude in Indonesia fights
a python. My question for the crew here, how much
would you have to be paid to get in touch,
even touch a twenty three ft python that was blocking
the road? Like? How much money would some I would
not get anywhere near this thing. This Indonesian dude tries

(02:00:16):
to drag the python out of the road and gets
into a fight with it. We're talking about a snake
that is as long as the basketball goal to the
three point line in an NBA game. How much would
you have to be paid? Jason Martin A lot of money? Like,
I'm not even sure you do it, probably, but it
would take some serious up. How much would you guys

(02:00:37):
have to be paid? In l A to touch a
twenty three ft python. Well, since houses are like two
point two million dollars here, that's how much it would
take from me. You have to get a house justin
What about you, man? I mean I can, I can
definitely be bought, uh just to touch it. You don't
know what's gonna happen. It can turn around and grab you.

(02:01:00):
But I mean that's literally that's all I have to
do is touch it. Yeah, you just have to touch it.
Grand grand all right, I don't know what the dog like.
I'm I'm willing to be bought for pretty much anything too.
I don't know what you'd have to pay me to
touch a twenty ft python. Poor Akbar got eaten by one. Uh.
No matter how bad your day is, at least you
can get eaten by a python. Thanks for listening to
I'll kick the coverage
