(01:59):
You gotta stick around that And if we have time,
Rich Saquon Barkley, I think he's a liar, liar pants
on fire. We're gonna talk w NBA merch for sure,
we're gonna get to that. But before you talk, Josh Allen, Yeah,
can I just say, and let me start off by saying,
I don't ever want to be one of those sports

(02:19):
radio hosts that come off as a blowhard. I told
you so, because I didn't tell you so. I told
you John Boyce said it. John boy said it yesterday
about the New York Yankees lineup, and it played out
exactly the way we thought it would. We broke it
down on our show yesterday, and we scratched our noggins

(02:39):
and we asked ourselves, why in the world would Aaron
Boone be putting out this pathetic lineup against the Mets
in a subway series, sold out game, big game, fun game.
Why in the world did he want to have all
right handed batters against your starting pitcher, Rich I don't know,
But what I do know is that the two guys that,

(03:02):
as you said, were a little sus to be in
the lineup, JD. Davis and Jami Jones, Yeah, went for
a whopping total of oh for six with multiple failed
opportunities with runners.

Speaker 1 (03:12):
In scoring position.

Speaker 2 (03:13):
Well think about it, Jami Jones, like you said, oh
for three, yep, and then JD. Davis protecting Aaron Judge. Also,
oh for three, Why in the world would any pitcher,
any Mets pitcher want to pitch to Judge when you
got JD. Davis any relation to you, by the way, No,
when you got JD. Davis pitching to him, So of

(03:34):
course they pitch around Judge. He's the only threat in
the lineup, and the Yankees lose to the Mets. Now,
yesterday we said, well, he's probably pulling an old play
out of the Joe Tory book from two thousand and two,
when Joe Torrey wanted certain players, he put the weakest
guys out there just to make a point, just to

(03:54):
show upper management, like, hey, if this is what you
give me, I'm gonna play him until I get what
I want. I hope it works to Aaron Boone's favor
because it really exposed the Yankees for not having enough,
and I think that's what his point was. And we
also said, maybe you should tie that into your own life.
Exposing the weakness just to get what you want. Doesn't

(04:17):
always work though, doesn't it doesn't. I mean, Joe Torrey
a little different than Aaron Boone, but MATSI. You follow
on that where Boone said, listen, we need guys of
the deadline. If you don't think so, okay, if you
think the guys we have are good enough, let's kind tonight,
let's play a primetime game like that.

Speaker 1 (04:34):
Yeah, And they under.

Speaker 2 (04:35):
Delivered and they did nothing if anything his plan if
that's what it was. And again I give credit to
John Boy for pointing it out. It worked magnificently because
it makes everybody scramble and say, yeah, they need more depth,
they need better hitters, they need protection for guys like
Aaron Judge in this lineup because these dudes aren't cutting it.
And by the way, I'm probably giving John Boy too

(04:55):
much credit because when I saw that lineup myself, you
were like, some.

Speaker 1 (04:58):
Is a foot?

Speaker 2 (04:59):
Yeah no, And I was like, something's afoot and it's not.

Speaker 1 (05:07):
It's not a good foot. I'm like, what is this?
Who are they? Because these are not? Yeah, for real?

Speaker 2 (05:13):
And it makes sense when you break it down that
foot's like spot and flip fluffs.

Speaker 3 (05:18):
I know.

Speaker 1 (05:19):
So I'm not gonna be that sports guy that says
I told you so.

Speaker 2 (05:22):
Who's the one that told you me just a tap? Yes,
that's not what I'm saying. But we were on point
yesterday on the show. I got to ask one thing.
We'll move on from baseball, but I did watch, as
did you Caveno, when I were both of the gym,
in different parts of the gym, both on our phones,
and every so often when we passed each other and
be like, yeah, one kid, you really do need people

(05:46):
protecting you. I mean, every star and every sport needs
that protection. Aaron Judge without Gean Carlos standing without Anthony Rizzo,
without those big bats, he has no protection. You're not
gonna win the Mets beat the Yankees the end with
no protection of the lineup. You might as well be
a quarterback with an unknown left tackle. You just it's

(06:08):
you can't perform the same way. And it's like Caitlin
Clark early in the season, she really couldn't do it
any no one was protecting her, no one was caring
about her, and then it became a story, so then
they had to make adjustments. You can't shine if no
one's protecting you. Would you say the Mets was it
a little bit of a type of move to walk
Aaron Judge four times? Or Danny g Do you say

(06:30):
that's the game. And if you're gonna put trash around them, well,
they walked Aaron Judge four times. Dude, it's it's it's
playing the game the right way. Why would you face
Aaron Judge when you got JD.

Speaker 1 (06:41):
Davis behind them? I'm pitching a JD.

Speaker 4 (06:43):
Date And the Yankees manager told them to do that
by by putting out that lineup exactly.

Speaker 2 (06:49):
And he's getting a lot of lot of flak for it, unless,
of course, you realize what he's really doing. And again
he's exposing his own lineup to get the players he
needs or he wants. And if you missed that conversation yesterday,
catch it on the podcast. So just wanted to say,
but not really wanting to say.

Speaker 1 (07:08):
We told you so. Yeah, so that brings you to
Josh Allen.

Speaker 2 (07:11):
I was gonna say, there's so many things to get
to before even Josh Allen Danny g during the update
with Mounsey Amazon, huh nba. So does that officially close
the book on Shaq and Barkley and our favorite crew?

Speaker 1 (07:25):
Is that now seems they're officially up in the air now.

Speaker 2 (07:29):
Well, there was a lot of talk of they don't
want to work for any other network, and there's a
lot of loyalty to TNT, and you know, sometimes maybe
this is the easy way to say goodbye and call
it a day, because I believe Charles Barkley wanted to
be done anyway from the stuff I was hearing, even
with his interview on David Letterman recently.

Speaker 1 (07:48):
Yeah, just so sucks.

Speaker 2 (07:50):
I mean, they're such a big part of the basketball
you know. You know, you say, you can't tell the
story of something if you can't if you can't tell
the story of something without mean that person. I think
even as broadcasters, it's hard to talk about the NBA
without saying, yeah, you see what, like Charles and Shack
were doing the other night, it's it's part of the
basketball season.

Speaker 4 (08:10):
When we were younger, we would have never thought that big,
huge cable networks would lose out to a streaming platform.

Speaker 1 (08:16):
No way, a book company.

Speaker 4 (08:18):
That was the NBA statement they say, throughout these negotiations,
our primary objective has been to maximize the reach and
accessibility of our games for our fans.

Speaker 2 (08:27):
You know what, this is just another reason for your
mom or dad to be like, how do I see
the game?

Speaker 1 (08:33):
It's just another game for your.

Speaker 2 (08:35):
Dad who I will say though I watched the Mets
every day on Amazon. I bought the Mets package through Amazon.
So listen, it's the way the future is going. But
if you would have told any of us back in
the day, oh yeah, your sports are headed towards Amazon,
the book company, you know what I mean, unless they
made some other announcement or they've already had some speculation.

(08:56):
This leaves opportunity for some other people, and I wonder
who they are, Like, who.

Speaker 1 (09:02):
Is that next? I mean, for a little while there,
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (09:05):
For a little while there, Barkley was like, well, I'll
sign all the guys to my production company. And then
a couple of weeks later he's like, no, I'm going
to retire. So it's been back and forth with those guys.

Speaker 2 (09:16):
Like who has that chemistry? And again that chemistry didn't
happen immediately, But who do you see being those people?
It's hard to recreate that it doesn't just happen.

Speaker 4 (09:29):
I don't think you can start all over good for
some magic.

Speaker 1 (09:33):
Yeah, good luck, good luck trying to find that.

Speaker 5 (09:36):
Andrew Marchand of the Athletic thinks that there's a possibility
that TNT Sports may sue or like Warner Brothers Discovery,
because if they did match the offer, they probably have
it in their contract that they have to accept.

Speaker 1 (09:52):
If they match, I'll sue.

Speaker 5 (09:54):
So there's unless the guys really didn't want to continue
and this is the story, when in reality, it's that
the guys just wanted to finish it out this year
because they still.

Speaker 1 (10:05):
Have one year. So maybe it's true.

Speaker 2 (10:08):
Maybe it's like you know when you have dinner plans
with someone and you don't want to go, and then
when they cancel, you're like yes, but you're like, oh, really,
we'll catch up soon.

Speaker 1 (10:16):
Yeah, it could be that.

Speaker 2 (10:18):
It could be that, but Rich, you're right, I mean,
it's just part of the fabric of the NBA at
that point. It's going to be a major adjustment if
it doesn't. Well, no, just being on Amazon alone, But
can I can be honest with you. I mean, I'm
not a twenty year old guy, but I'm more prone
to see something on Amazon than TNT. Like I have
Hulu Live and I'm like, I guess I get TNT,

(10:40):
but Amazon is right up there at Netflix, Amazon, Apple, TV, HBO, Go,
Hbo Max. I'm sorry, Like, those are the things that
are on your smart TV. You have a hard time
finding things on Amazon.

Speaker 1 (10:51):
It's probably easier. TNT is just where games are.

Speaker 5 (10:54):
Like you associate, I associate T and T is a
place to go watch a game.

Speaker 2 (10:57):
I mean, I think you make a good point, but
I hear what you're saying. I have no problem finding
TN T. Yeah, I use slings so me personally, I
have it.

Speaker 1 (11:04):
It's there. And again, I'm a slinger. I didn't know that.
Just don't tell my dad, don't tell my parents. Don't
have a heart attack. Steven's a what oh slinger? I
am a slinger.

Speaker 2 (11:14):
And I associate again to me, T and T, like
Monci just stated, it's synonymous with the NBA, synonymous with games,
and yeah, it's it's a minor adjustment there to just
head over to Prime. But hey, it's a changing world.

Speaker 1 (11:29):
My dad used to it. My dad has made adjustments.

Speaker 2 (11:31):
By the way, this just sort of ties in because
I think a lot of our parents maybe sixty seventy
years old. I just want to say, I'm proud of
my dad. He moved, and why would you say that.
He's never said he's proud of you. I would say
you did a very good job. My dad, So what
are you trying to say, Dad? There's very good. There's

(11:52):
one move that I was proud of him for and
one where I'm like, okay, a step in the right direction.
My dad moved, Yeah, no longer has a landline.

Speaker 1 (12:00):
Oh oh yeah, no more landline.

Speaker 2 (12:02):
I was like, well, you're going to miss all those
telemarketers that call. He goes who else uses a landline.

Speaker 1 (12:06):
And still has an AOL email though.

Speaker 2 (12:08):
Though what he does though all his TVs are smart
TVs and he uses his rokup for Netflix and all
the things.

Speaker 1 (12:16):
In his office.

Speaker 2 (12:17):
He still gets like Spectrum Cable because he wants to
have Yes Network and SNY and the local sports things.

Speaker 1 (12:23):
I'm like, Dad, you can get the apps. I'm like,
you don't have.

Speaker 2 (12:26):
It at all, even down probably by the end of
the day when you're paying for all those different apps.

Speaker 1 (12:31):
You've got mail. But yeah, the.

Speaker 2 (12:33):
Older people have to make those adjustments because anytime the
Yankees play on Amazon everything, my mom still that's just
like a wash for like, I guess I'm not watching.

Speaker 5 (12:42):
Yeah, my mom doesn't understand the like Paramount or like
HBO Max whatever it's called. Now that there they run
like Netflix, like She'll she'll come out to me and
she'll be like, Paramount, Do I just download the app
and then I can watch a show. I'm like, no, Mom,
you have to pay for it. Like she does not
understand that concept yet of streaming.

Speaker 2 (13:03):
Like remember we all paid one hundred or two hundred
bucks or cable and everything, and we said, no way,
we're cutting the cord. Well, now we just pay mom
five to ten dollars fifteen different.

Speaker 1 (13:10):
Apps exactly Push.

Speaker 4 (13:12):
Yeah, it was supposed to save us money. Yeah, same
thing post to that's the same post.

Speaker 2 (13:17):
Can I ask a stupid but maybe obvious questions you
always do? Okay, let me rephrase that. Can I ask
a Rich Davis type of questions?

Speaker 1 (13:25):
Please? There you go? Thank you.

Speaker 2 (13:29):
You know we call it Max, right, we say HBO Max,
but it's Max right. I knew had changed because of Cinemax.
It's just no, but it's just Cinemax, so it's Max HBO.
We're still giving HBO the credit even though it was
HBO Cinemax and all that.

Speaker 5 (13:44):
Did they just combine did they HBO Cinema Area, Yeah,
like a sister station.

Speaker 1 (13:50):
I think Max just sounds cool, but don't you I
don't know if you're talking about a person who's Max.

Speaker 2 (13:56):
I just I always associated like it was Maximum, HBO Max,
not necessarily Cinemax in Amax. Is that common knowledge to
everybody that it's Max that's winning.

Speaker 4 (14:08):
Well, we didn't know that as kids, because you had
to pay for those channels separately in your cable pack.

Speaker 5 (14:14):
But then you would get like three months for free,
Like my parents would constantly call it three months for free.

Speaker 1 (14:20):
Get to cancel, We'll give you three more months.

Speaker 2 (14:23):
Way back on a Wednesday, though, Let's say you had
to sleepover at a buddy's house, or you were sleeping
out of relatives and they had skin Imax.

Speaker 1 (14:32):
Saturday. What is this? Amazon? Women on the moon waiting
for that? You're waiting for those older brother confession. My
older brother fell asleep to lady chatterly google it. Somebody
moved that lamp. It's in the way.

Speaker 2 (14:48):
My point is, I've always known that Cinemax was owned
by HBO, But it seems like the brand Cinemax Max
is sort of winning right now based.

Speaker 1 (14:57):
On the app. For a second, you thought it was
gonna die. Yeah, you never liked that a second, right, Yeah,
name alone, it's all the Cinematics. It's all the same company.
I get it. But I remember a.

Speaker 4 (15:09):
Little strange now though, because you click on Max now
and there's all these TV shows on there. Didn't used
to be TV shows.

Speaker 2 (15:16):
Yeah, it's just a ton of content. That's why nothing
has millions and millions of views because we have so
many damn options.

Speaker 1 (15:21):
But hey, you know what, You'll find what you like.

Speaker 2 (15:23):
But I do remember the Cinemax days, like you said,
I remember, or the scrambling, the scrambled Playboy channel. I
remember taping, yeah, taping Bikini car wash Company. Oh, and
I labeled it forty nine ers Bear, so my VHS top.
I'm like, no, no, no, my mom's not gonna be like
forty nine ers Bears. So I remember always been like, yes.

Speaker 5 (15:44):
So you put it in plain sight hiding in plane
sighting site.

Speaker 2 (15:47):
I used to take get this, moncie. My mom knew
that I liked wrestling as a kid, so I used
to buy all those WWF when it was WWF wrestling magazines,
and I would put the covers of them on NUTI.

Speaker 1 (15:58):
Magazines, so I had a in plain sight.

Speaker 2 (16:01):
My mom's like he always well, he always he loves
macho man Rady Savage.

Speaker 1 (16:06):
That's what I did. That's smart strategy. Wow, smart kid,
smart kid. Rich really loves the fabulous moolah. Wow.

Speaker 2 (16:16):
Did you ever do this old trick on the parents too?
Years later your parents would figure this out. You would
replace their booze with.

Speaker 1 (16:23):
Water in the bottles. That's an old trick. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (16:25):
And then like he eventually catches up to you, like
five years later, your mom be like, what the Vodkan
in the cabinet was? It was must have gone bad.
I'm like, yeah, must have gone bad.

Speaker 1 (16:35):
Yeah, I turned the water.

Speaker 2 (16:36):
Yeah, well again, how did we get here? NBA games
on Amazon? So that's how we got here. It's the
world of apps and streaming and the NBA is next.
So we're Cavino and Rich on Fox Sports Radio at
Cavino and Rich celebrating Spotty's birthday. Then Eg's on the
phones at eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox. Before

(16:58):
we get into the rest of the store, Rich and
WNBA merchandise. There's a big story there. I know Josh
Allen was on your mind, so set it up for me.

Speaker 1 (17:07):
Josh Allen, It's always on my own I know.

Speaker 2 (17:10):
No, I mean, arguably the second biggest quarterback in the
National Football League, right, would you would you argue other
than Mahomes, other than Mahomes if people I think there's
a strategical sort of you say, strategically strategy involved in
making that the matchup. You know, I don't know if
Josh Allen really is the number two? Is he? When

(17:32):
they do tiers like saying Burrows in that there's a
top tier, and I think I think Burrow, Josh Allen, Mahomes,
there's a handful of guys same. The NFL has really
set us up to believe that that's the matchup and
that's the number one and number two. But I think
number two is up for grabs. I'm not saying that
it's not Josh Allen. I'm just saying I think it's
up for grabs. Could be Eminem, I'm sorry, Joe Burrow.

(17:53):
It looks Joe Burrow. It could have been could have
been Hurts. But now I think that fell off a
little bit. That gets a lot and the stats were
impressive last year. Well, Josh Allen, he's in the headlines
because this is a big deal for younger kids. Anyone
older might be like, who cares. Apparently he's Instagram official

(18:16):
with Haley Steinfeld. They've been dating a year and they
I guess publicly started posting, you know, on social media,
and I just wanted to ask you quickly. I'm not
saying this is Taylor. I'm not telling you this is
Taylor Swift.

Speaker 1 (18:31):
That's so major. I'm not saying it's.

Speaker 2 (18:34):
Not Kelsey's not Kelsey next, It's not Kelsey Travis Kelsey
Taylor Swift level. But you don't think there's any Is
there any interest there? Do you think anyone cares? Will
she be in the crowd or anything like that.

Speaker 5 (18:48):
They both seem like like very just chill, Like they're
not gonna have crazy stories, and so I don't think
they're going to have that attention, Like they would have
to be drunks somewhere and he's like helping her, you know,
stumble to the car and then we're gonna hear more
about them. But they just seem very chill.

Speaker 1 (19:08):
I don't know. People love that celebrity sports tie in.

Speaker 2 (19:13):
I'm not the old guy by any means, not trying
to be the old guy. Take no pride in being
the grumpy old guy. I have a teenage daughter who
also keeps me up on on things. I couldn't tell
you what Harley Steinfeld saying, if you paid me, I
couldn't pick her out of a lineup.

Speaker 5 (19:28):
Do you say, Jerry Seinfeld, Josh Allen, But your daughter
knows who she is.

Speaker 1 (19:35):
She's perfect, it's perfect.

Speaker 2 (19:37):
But my point is, yeah, agree, that's why most guys,
that's why the story has no juice. She's not even
in the in the realm of Taylor Swift in my opinion, of.

Speaker 1 (19:46):
Course, but she is.

Speaker 5 (19:48):
She has her Oh, she was also in She's been
acting since she was a little girl.

Speaker 1 (19:52):
True grit. Yeah, like I know the name. Don't get
it tested. I know the name, don't just don't just
amuse me. She was in Pitch Perfect three. Yeah, it's great.
Third one, break any dude, you dare Third one? Hey,
we work in radio.

Speaker 2 (20:08):
She's a singer too, gives a diddley dude, man and
any grown up with a with a regular day to
day life has no idea who.

Speaker 1 (20:17):
She is, don't slider. She was in the second one,
l Ballerini. She related to No one knows this guru,
Jake Steinfeld. No one knows that I know body by Jake.
Maybe she is. I think she is related to him.
She yes, look that up. I feel like I read
that before.

Speaker 2 (20:34):
No, I feel like I read that spot she's related
to Body by Jake. If not, we just made that up.
But she's twenty seven years old. You think people know
who Body by Jake is? Stay, our audience does. Yes,
there's more guys, more people on the road right now
are like, yeah.

Speaker 1 (20:49):
I remember Body by Jake. Then they know who Sat
told you I remember reading.

Speaker 2 (20:55):
They don't care more about Steinfeld is rich, So that
that doesn't mean anything bad towards Josh Allen and their love.
We wish him the best, but there's no way the
average fella knows who she is.

Speaker 1 (21:08):
No, I'm not.

Speaker 2 (21:09):
I'm not arguing it. That's why it's not that big
of a deal. Hawky hawk hawkye hawk gyal talk.

Speaker 1 (21:18):
I don't know that. I don't know that. I don't know.
You don't know how I know that? That howk to
a girl? I mean, she's never going to get that.
It's like, yeah, that's not a fair comparison.

Speaker 2 (21:30):
Even like Olivia Olivia Coppo, who is miss Us all Things,
is nowhere near the accolades or attention of a tailor swift.

Speaker 5 (21:39):
Yes, it's comparison.

Speaker 1 (21:41):
Will is it in the news? Yes?

Speaker 2 (21:42):
Is it going to get the tailor swift attention? Nothing
will get that. I wasn't saying it was. I was
just asking, well, get any attentions?

Speaker 1 (21:50):
No, doesn't give it.

Speaker 4 (21:54):
Yeah, we don't want to hear about any jake. Female
actresses at games.

Speaker 1 (21:58):
Okay, relax, it's true though.

Speaker 4 (22:01):
It's the truth. There's room for one. But there's room
for one. We've already had her.

Speaker 2 (22:07):
There's only one coming up, European guys, we are going
to talk about women women's sports and the uptick, not
just a little bit. The rise in merch for the
w n b A is unbelievable. So we have a
couple of deep thoughts and it has to do with
can only go up? I mean whether or not? Yes,

(22:27):
can only go up over these levels? To the conversation
about women's merch. We'll explain. That's all coming up next
right here, coming on Rich on Fox Sports Radio. Now,

Speaker 1 (24:03):
But here's the thing. We never have enough time to
get to everything we want to get to.

Speaker 2 (24:06):
And that's why we have a brand new podcast called
over Promised. You see, we're having so much fun in
our two hour show. We never get to everything, honestly,
because this guy is over promising things we never have
time for.

Speaker 1 (24:19):
Yeah, you blubber litame in me.

Speaker 2 (24:21):
Well you know what it's called over promise. You should
be good at it because you've been over promising women
for years. Well, it's a Covino and Rich after show,
and we want you to be a part of it.
We're gonna be talking sports, of course, but we're also
gonna talk life and relationships. And if Rich and I

it will continue on our after show called over Promised. Well,
if you don't get enough Covino and Rich, make sure

(24:41):
you check out over Promised and also Uncensored. By the way,
so maybe we'll go at it even a little harder.
It's gonna be the best after show podcast of all time.

Speaker 1 (24:49):
There you go, over promising.

Speaker 2 (24:51):
Remember you could see on YouTube, but definitely join us
listen over Promised with Covino and Rich on the iHeartRadio app,
Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your some Perry Ferrell HBO.
By the way, we just looked up the Max logo

(25:12):
because we were talking about streaming and NBA going to Amazon.
They did something really creative. They made the A in
Max because it's just Max.

Speaker 1 (25:21):
Now.

Speaker 2 (25:22):
They made the A like the O and HBO with
the little circle in it same font, so it's the
same font. And they took away that confusion because again
I said, I always thought of it as HBO like Maximum.
I always forgot that it was Cinemax. But the NBA
moves to Amazon, and that's the update there where Cavino

official communication device of Fox Sports Radio. Rapid Radios. All right, uh, hey,
so much to get to. We're gonna get to women's
merch in a second. There's a Saquon story, maybe some
Kelsey stuff in the news midweek?

Speaker 1 (26:17):
Major?

Speaker 2 (26:18):
Is that where you bought that T shirt? It's funny,
it's a little tight. Now coming men's rich or? No,
did you want to uh? Did you want to go
to Mansi for an update? And then we'll talk a
little merch? Yes, yes, let's see.

Speaker 1 (26:38):
How are you months you? Guys?

Speaker 5 (26:40):
Hi?

Speaker 2 (26:41):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (26:42):
This is nice, this is lovely. Okay, where should I start? NBA?

Speaker 5 (26:46):
All right, guys, Warner Brothers Discovery apparently did not match
the terms of Amazon Prime, so NBA is moving forward
with Amazon on a long term deal, meaning this coming
season would be the end of almost.

Speaker 1 (26:58):
Four decades of NBA games. I know on TNT.

Speaker 2 (27:02):
So sad No I heard this expression and it bothers me.
But it's true. Everything has an expiration day.

Speaker 1 (27:08):
All good things come to an end. True. Yeah, who
gets the theme? How don't think there's a theme that
matters that much?

Speaker 2 (27:15):
Now?

Speaker 1 (27:15):
Maybe they come up with a new one.

Speaker 5 (27:17):
Yeah, who knows, nothing.

Speaker 1 (27:18):
We'll ever match the NBA on NBC theme back in
the day. That's that was a good one that still hit.

Speaker 2 (27:24):
Maybe John Tesh is working on a new one for Amazon, right, yeah.

Speaker 5 (27:28):
Maybe, But it'll be like a farewell tour for the
guys on NBA on TNT, since we know it's their
final year. Other NBA news Pacers and guard Andrew Nemhart
have agreed on a three year, fifty nine million dollar
contract extension. The Knicks are signing head coach Tom Thibodeau
to a three year contract extension as well, no details.

Speaker 1 (27:45):
On the amount.

Speaker 5 (27:46):
When it comes to baseball, Alex Cora and the Red
Sox seemed to be nearing a three year extension worth
more than twenty one million. It would be the second
highest salary behind Craig Council, who signed a five year,
forty million dollar deal with the Cubs. Training camp officially
underway in the NFL, but not for everybody. Forty nine
ers All Pro left tackle Trent Williams did not report,

(28:08):
did not.

Speaker 1 (28:09):
Rich everyone just wants money.

Speaker 5 (28:11):
Taking an adjustment to his contract. Brandon Ayuk was there
out of uniform watching from the side line.

Speaker 1 (28:16):
That's what we're gonna do. Options up. We're just not showing.
You can watch, and.

Speaker 3 (28:22):
You guys watch from the outside.

Speaker 1 (28:25):
Look at you.

Speaker 5 (28:26):
That's good baseball, real quick games going on right now.
Rockies nineteen runs versus the Red Sox three runs. It's
the bottom of the seventh inning in Colorado and they
have the bases loaded.

Speaker 1 (28:39):
So things are going real well for the Rockies. Here
the Astros also have exploded.

Speaker 5 (28:43):
They're beating the A's eight to one bottom of the seventh,
Mariners still on top of the Angels one zero top
of the seventh as well.

Speaker 1 (28:49):
Back to you guys, you.

Speaker 2 (28:50):
Know what else exploded? That guys, yellow that's I'm dump.
Hey Rich, Rich, you post a question earlier on our
Patreon post it real quick it is boso Okay, Well,
what is a more frightening scenario for everyone in the room?
The people in Yellowstone that had to run away from
an exploding geyser? Or did you see that video of

(29:13):
the whale that jumps out of the water and lands
on the boat and flips it overeeze, squeeze, I'm looking
what's scarier. We're gonna need a bigger boat. They won't
seriously think about that. You're at Yellowstone, just chilling. Then
geyser comes out of nowhere. You're on the s in
the middle of the ocean and a giant way the.

Speaker 1 (29:39):
Think about it. Think about it? Do you have an answer?
I said, the ocean is scarier because at least you
got your footing.

Speaker 4 (29:45):
Yeah, yellow thank you. I was just going to say
the same thing. And growing up with the stories about
Jonah and the whale and all that, I would be
more scared of the whale in the ocean.

Speaker 2 (29:54):
Wait, there's a story about Jonahs knocks in a way. Yeah, really,
I never heard that. Sound a good one. Now again,
we're Cavino and Rich. Appreciate you hanging out with us.
There's a story in the WNBA. It's not even really
basketball related. It's merchandise related. Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese

(30:14):
lead the wn WNBA merchandise sales up one thousand percent,
one thousand percent increase in player items, mostly in part
because of them, And.

Speaker 1 (30:25):
That poses a question.

Speaker 2 (30:26):
By the way, I say a round of applause, because
of course that's great, right. We all want the WNBA
to succeed, and it's cool to see women's sports exploding
like that. Guys are in Yellowstone and it's mostly because
of them. But it does pose a question, and there's
layers behind this question. Are you willing to wear women's

(30:49):
WNBA merchandise? And you're probably thinking, well, of course, why
wouldn't you. Well, there are reasons as to why, perhaps
because we have certain rules and how do those certain
rules apply when it comes to WNBA merch Well, you
got to remember the first instinct isn't always right. Like
your first instinct would be like, what if you don't

(31:11):
wear women's merch what are you sexist? And then you
gotta think, all right, you're grown ass man. If you
were in the jersey of like a twenty year old female,
does that make you a little bit of a creepy dude?

Speaker 1 (31:25):
Hold on because you could reposition this and Danny g
nailed it.

Speaker 2 (31:28):
We've had a rule for years rich years that it's
a little odd when you're wearing a jersey of a
dude younger than you. It just feels weird because we
always looked up to our heroes. Yeah, we always get
the throwbacks like the bo Jacksons. So you'd get a
classic jersey if you were going to buy one because
it's just weird. I'm not saying you can't root for
a younger player, but it feels weird. So if it

(31:50):
feels weird to wear a younger man's name on your back,
isn't it extra weird to have a younger woman's.

Speaker 1 (31:57):
Name on your back.

Speaker 2 (31:58):
So that's not even sex, it's just a rule. And
then it's weirder because it's a young woman.

Speaker 5 (32:04):
I actually think I hear what you're saying because I
I have felt the same way.

Speaker 1 (32:09):
But I feel like it's just different. It is different different,
it's different. It's the same, but it's different.

Speaker 5 (32:16):
It's the same, but it's different, and I don't know why.

Speaker 1 (32:19):
But Okay, if someone could put their their finger.

Speaker 5 (32:22):
On it, Like if I saw you, yeah, wearing a
Brice Young jersey, I would be like, oh, that's interesting,
like the kid.

Speaker 2 (32:29):
Okay, Yeah, if you got some guy, some grow man
in Baltimore, like Gunnar Henderson, it's there's something a little.

Speaker 1 (32:37):
Like your kid. You're great wearing a Ripken jersey it's
Robinson or something like that.

Speaker 3 (32:42):
But if you were wearing a perfect example, a Kitlyn
Clark suresey, I feel like you wouldn't people are not Yeah,
Kaitlyn Clark, like is it because she's she is who
she is now, she's the moment? Or like if a
guy was wearing Angel Reese, I feel like they wouldn't
get that either, Like, I don't know why it's.

Speaker 1 (32:58):
Different, but it is because WNBA is history in the
making right now. That's what it is.

Speaker 2 (33:04):
Okay, now here's another here's another layer. And Rich got
to give you credit for this one, and I'll let
you explain. But there may be a weird jealousy factor
into why you wouldn't want to even do this that
doesn't really apply with the men's jersey example, I've listen,
my wife not jealous. I'm not jealous, but there's plenty

(33:27):
of jealous people out there. There's a jealous girl in
our town. If you think how many people like let
me see your phone, who are you talking to? Where
are you think of the jealous people you've dealt with
in your life. What if you're a dude that's like, yeah,
I really love Kelsey Plumb or like well, you know,
like a good looking female athlete. There might be wives
or girlfriends and are like, yeah, yeah, I'm not cool

(33:48):
with that.

Speaker 1 (33:48):
Like you don't know Marva Jason Kelsey guy. Yeah, it's
I mean, it's not a no. There's a lot of
crazy thought.

Speaker 2 (33:55):
Yeah, there's a lot of dudes that think Angel Reese
is good looking, right, yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1 (34:01):
So what if there's a guy who's always liking her.

Speaker 2 (34:03):
Photos, always saying how hot she is, and then he's
with a new woman and she knows how he feels
about her, he's got the hotswar and now he's wearing
her name.

Speaker 1 (34:13):
On his back.

Speaker 2 (34:14):
He's not willing to give this woman a ring, but
he's wearing an Angel Reached jersey. That could cause some
some situations that don't apply in men's jersey world.

Speaker 5 (34:23):
Yes, but I think that is that is a very
specific example because you two don't do that right, Like
you're you're not doing You're not out there putting on
Twitter that you think a girl is hot. That's not
your style. So maybe if you were wearing a woman's
jersey or a woman's shirt, nobody would think, oh, that's creepy,
because you guys aren't creepy.

Speaker 2 (34:43):
But there's a lot of creepy dude there there's a
difference or a fine line between you you're being thirsty
for that woman, yeah, and being supportive of that woman. Right,
So there's that fine line that doesn't necessarily apply. Yes,
So this isn't really a sexist conversation. It's just layers
to it that you really have thought about. Sure, yeah,
and we bring this up again because it went up
one thousand percent. I mean many layers that we've never

(35:05):
thought about. That wn BA has brought up conversations that
we never had before. I recently saw, aren't there like
two players engaged on different teams because there's a lot
of lesbians in the w NBA, Like there's they could
be playing against ex girlfriends, Like, oh, you know that
that doesn't exist as much in other sports, So look
at it. I'll give you the example. Let's say some

(35:26):
dude was constantly commenting on like Cameron Brink's page, like
fire emoji, fire.

Speaker 1 (35:31):
Emoji, what a tall hawk? Glass of water?

Speaker 2 (35:34):
Like, you know, if they were being creepsters while you
read my comments cap and then he then this dude's
got Cameron brinked gear. His girlfriend might be like, all right, creep,
right right, but that's right.

Speaker 5 (35:47):
But yes, again, creep is as creep, does you know?

Speaker 1 (35:53):
Yeah, creep recognized Creepe.

Speaker 2 (35:55):
That's it, right, So we asked you Fox Sports Radio,
Nation Forest, would you wear a w NBA jersey?

Speaker 1 (36:04):
And why or why not? Eight seven seven ninety nine
on Fox or hit us up at Covino and Rich.
I'm not saying no, but that jersey would have to
be fire like.

Speaker 2 (36:18):
It also has to be a team or a person
or a jersey I think is worth investing.

Speaker 1 (36:23):
What if you met her? What if?

Speaker 2 (36:24):
What if all a sudden on our show Fox Sports Radio.
Let's say, let's say Angel Reese came by and we're like, yo,
she was such a delight, what a what a nice woman? Yeah,
then you might be I'm not saying show dude, but
there have to be some strong convincing.

Speaker 1 (36:38):
This is the move for me? Is it odd? Is
it odd? If I wear simone bile Singlet think about it?
Is that one like a gymnastic Now? I mean that's
weird for different reasons. Okay, we'll talk off air, all right?

Speaker 2 (36:53):
Well, hey Cavino on Rich Fox Sports Radio, your thoughts
about WNBA gear, Like we said, up one thousand percent,

Speaker 1 (38:00):
H Man, We're living in a weird world. Man.

Speaker 2 (38:05):
Why Cavino just showed me a girl on Instagram and
he's like, oh, get her, and now we don't know
she's real. Well, my question was, is this girl real
or fake? And when you get to that point, you're like,
where's the world headed? And it also makes things extra
confusing come election time because your parents are gonna be like,

(38:29):
what in the hell I just heard this and it
could be fake.

Speaker 1 (38:31):
That's true, it.

Speaker 2 (38:32):
Could be fake for alone your parents exactly. Well, hey,
you know, let's go to your phone calls and feedback.
We're talking about women's merch in the world of sports,
women's sports merch because the WNBA up over one thousand percent.
By the way, before we get into that, yeah, High
West Sam's playing TLC. Right, Creep, I heard a fun
fact the other day speaking to creeps and speaking to TLC,

(38:56):
we all know that the Alanis Marrissett song was about
Dave cool Ya right, cut it out, quit it. The
whole theater thing, Yeah, the whole theater thing was about
Dave cool Ya wait to go, Uncle Joey, Uncle Joey.

Speaker 1 (39:13):
Blow me down, right? I heard recently.

Speaker 2 (39:18):
I was like last week years old, as the kitties say,
when I found out that Scrubs was also about Uncle
Joey because he was in the passenger side of Uncle
Jesse's car trying to holler at TLC what Yeah, it's christ.

Speaker 1 (39:37):
Look it up.

Speaker 2 (39:39):
I don't want no scrub because the scrub is a
guy that can't get in a look from me hanging
out the passenger side of his best friend's ride. Apparently
they were on a lot somewhere, and it was Dave
cool Ya being like.

Speaker 1 (39:50):
Yo, what's up. If that's true, that's great, look it up,
look it up.

Speaker 2 (39:56):
I'm surprised you didn't know. You're the biggest Full House
fan I know, have mercy there you go, look it up.
I'm not saying it's fact. I'm saying I saw it
on TikTok, so it has to be true, right, all right,
that's it. Well, anyway, speaking of creeps, it's Cavino and Rich.
We're not the creeps. We're just saying that wearing a

(40:17):
woman's jersey could be a little creepy. If you're not
willing to wear a younger man's jersey, why would you
want to wear a younger woman's jersey, Because that's one
of our rules, because it feels weird.

Speaker 1 (40:30):
If I was in the market for a Yankees jersey.
I want to buy an Anthony Valpy jersey.

Speaker 2 (40:34):
I'm buying it. Derek Jeter jersey, or a Manningly jersey,
or a Mantle jersey the legends that's other than me.
He does a caveat here. I think it's a If
it's a franchise guy, it's not weird, like if if Aaron.

Speaker 1 (40:45):
Judge, Yeah, I don't think that's.

Speaker 2 (40:49):
I mean, if all of a sudden, you're just a
big w n B A person like, Oh, she's a
franchise woman, so I'm buying it. I mean if we
also say you only buy jerseys of teams you root for,
all of a sudden, you're such a diehard fan, you're
buying that jersey. Like it's also very front runner, is right,
and that goes against my rules. I'm not invested in
a team or a person enough to buy that jersey.

Speaker 1 (41:10):
I think it's kind of what Danny G said.

Speaker 5 (41:12):
It's the moment right now supporting women's sports. So I
feel like maybe in five years we're having a different conversational.

Speaker 2 (41:19):
Rob Low and just buy a hat that says w
NBA on it in support NFL hat yeah, NFL. Rob
Low had the NFL hat, because what team would I
represent one? I'd have no because that's not even right started,
that's against all started.

Speaker 1 (41:38):
I don't have a team that I root for. This
is your liberty, Sabrina, you and Escu.

Speaker 6 (41:41):
There you go.

Speaker 1 (41:42):
This was year one of the w NBA for a
lot of people. No, that's the truth. I'm not being rude.
It's been around, but it could be. It could be
rude and true all at the same story. I want
to make it.

Speaker 2 (41:52):
Clear my stance here is not against women's sports, no idea,
and it's also not coming from a sexist place. It's
coming from the standard rules that I always lived by.
So how do I show support? I'll try to figure
that out. Maybe I'll come up with an idea. But
if you didn't like my rob Low one. But the
question arises because it went up one thousand percent in sales,

(42:13):
mostly in part by Angel Reeson Caitlin Clark. Obviously, why
did you just wear a hat with a picture of
a sandwich and support food? I have a reverse sexism question.
A few months okay, last night on The Bachelorette, have
you no told me?

Speaker 1 (42:26):
Two nights ago? Yeah, two nights ago. Can you know
tell me that the bachelorette had all the dudes doing
strip teas. And he's like, there's no way a bachelor
would ever be able to have all the women do
a strict tease. What a ridiculous And also, yes, it's
not comfortable for I want the world to know us
men are not pieces of meat.

Speaker 2 (42:44):
But the same way where the same way a girl
may be like, I'm gonna get a Bryce Harper jersey
because he's cute. Would it be creepy for God to
be like, let me find the hottest w NBA player
and get her jersey.

Speaker 1 (42:55):
Is that creepy? Yes? Yes, the answer is yes. Think
about it.

Speaker 2 (43:00):
You got your answer, all right, We got your calls
and feedback. Next coviing on Rich right here Fox Sports Radio.
