Speaker 3 (00:34):
Eve, Yes, Happy birthday.

Speaker 1 (00:37):
August eighth. August ninth, Caveno turns another year older. I'll
let him say how old he's going to be. But
he's not here today. So you got me, Monzi. You
got Ryan Berschinger as our executive producer, who's enjoying a
well earned snack right now. Iowa Sam is here. Hello,
Iowa Sam. How do you? And Isaac long Crown's at
the news desk? Keep it rocking, Elijah and Sager on

(00:59):
the vide Glad to have you with us, Big Mike
on the ones and twos, not running anything at this place,
Just kidding, Mike. Glad to have you here on a Friday,
as we hang out for the Fellas, hit Mancy up
at Monzi Milanios. You can find me at Dan Byer
on Fox. It is Friday, getting ready for a weekend
where we've got more football. In fact, a couple of games. Tonight,

(01:21):
Lions and Falcons, Browns, Panthers, Commanders and Patriots will play.
And then tomorrow Monson, the Buffalo Bills will open up
their preseason at home against the New York Giants. And
I bring this up for a couple of reasons because
the Bills have been a topic of conversation. In fact,
Awful Announcing talked about something that we talked about yesterday.

(01:43):
They put an article up about hard Knocks and the
Buffalo Bills, and the Bills are on my mind, they're
on everyone's mind because they're a super Bowl contender, but
they open preseason tomorrow. But they're also just the topic
of conversation because Josh Allen's coming off that MVP season
and trying to get over the ump of beating the
Kansas City Chiefs and making it back to a super Bowl.

(02:04):
That's why we talk about the Buffalo Bills a lot.

Speaker 4 (02:07):
Right, Yeah, absolutely, And then today because of the things
flying in the WNBA.

Speaker 3 (02:11):
Everyone's bringing up true. Yes, that's so, you know, I
had to bring that back in.

Speaker 1 (02:16):
Just can't get away from Buffalo.

Speaker 3 (02:17):
I can't get away from Buffalo.

Speaker 1 (02:19):
Monzy also found out about Jason Stewart and my Buffalo plans.
So hopefully her and Breed don't steal you.

Speaker 3 (02:24):
No, no, you didn't.

Speaker 1 (02:25):
You wouldn't.

Speaker 3 (02:25):
You wouldn't tell me because you didn't want us to
show up.

Speaker 1 (02:28):
That's that's true. Last year, I said I wanted to
go to an A's game in Oakland before it closed,
and that was like one of my summer to do lists.
We announced them on the show. Monzy was here. In fact,
Monzy I vividly remember, couldn't come up with three things,
so she only had one and that was to finish
half marathon, so she really didn't even take part in

(02:50):
the exercise.

Speaker 3 (02:51):
Thank you for that.

Speaker 1 (02:52):
Well, it's true. So what you did then you stole
my idea, and then last September her and Brie end
up flying to Oakland going to an A's game. Never
even asked, never even said, Dan, I know this is
your idea, this is something that you wanted to do.
They just ended up going and Jason Stewart and I.

(03:16):
I've told Jason he has family in the upstate New
York area. I said, I want to go to a
Bills game before they move into their new stadium. So
we are in the planning of that process. And I
didn't want you to know because then you and Brie
would be in Buffalo Week one as they take on
the Ravens Sunday Night football, taking selfies of YouTube being

(03:39):
in Buffalo and taking my idea and running away with it.
That's the whole You're.

Speaker 3 (03:43):
Right, Dan, Bri and I took the only two seats
available for that game. You're so right. You couldn't have gone.

Speaker 1 (03:48):
I don't want to rehash this, but I find it
amazing that you find no reason to think that you
did anything wrong in this. I did sole my idea, yes,
that's all. And then you didn't include me on the
plans that you made with someone else.

Speaker 4 (04:04):
Were you going to take a day off your wife
was gonna let you go with Brie and I on
a day trip to Oakland to watch the Egg if.

Speaker 5 (04:10):
We got to do a round trip round trip in
one day, in one day traveling, nobody asked me.

Speaker 1 (04:16):
No one asked me I had thought like a nice
drive up because that because it'd be nice, you know,
road trip.

Speaker 4 (04:23):
Oh so you had a different plan of what you
wanted to do that you could have executed.

Speaker 1 (04:27):
Well, yes, but at least at least I didn't steal
this idea from anybody, and Cavino and Rich ended up
doing their own. They went to a game in Sacramento
in April. Now, they didn't ask me if I wanted
to go because I think it was Master's weekend. But
also it wasn't my idea to go, So I wasn't
mad at them for that. This going to Oakland was

(04:49):
my idea that again I brought up in the city.

Speaker 4 (04:52):
You definitely did. And I'm gonna shout out John from
my co workout the Dodgers, who had told me before
your idea of the many times he would fly out
to Oakland to watch.

Speaker 3 (05:01):
A game and come back.

Speaker 1 (05:02):
Oh.

Speaker 3 (05:03):
So then when you said, I was like, I should
do what John p does.

Speaker 1 (05:06):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (05:06):
Oh see, so it wasn't steal your idea. You just
inspired me.

Speaker 1 (05:11):
I said I wanted to go to a game in
Oakland before they left. Yeah, you and Bree went to
a game in Oakland before they left, and just.

Speaker 3 (05:20):
Give me and other thousands of people.

Speaker 1 (05:22):
No, we did tell you, all right, well, I want
to go to a game in Buffalo, I'll see you
there to see you'll be there the week before and
then steal my thunder the point being there. The Buffalo
Bills are on the minds of many, and they're on
my mind as well because I love the thirty for thirties.
Do you love the thirty for thirty movies on ESPN? Yes?

(05:43):
They a great series started out.

Speaker 6 (05:46):
Now.

Speaker 1 (05:46):
I felt like there's been a thirty for thirty made
for everything. But there are thirty for thirties that you
keep on your DVR, not bills games like Adam Kaplan,
but there's just kidding at them. There's there's things that
you keep on your DVR because you like them so much.
My favorite thirty for thirty was the one about the
SMU death penalty and the scandal that they had the

(06:07):
nineteen eighties. I've heard many people say their favorite thirty
for thirty was the U about the University of Miami football.
Heard a lot of different ones. I have kept a
couple on my DVR, and one of them that I
have is the one about the Buffalo Bills. And the
four Super Bowls that they went to. And this is
early nineteen nineties, so I'm prime early teens around that time,

(06:33):
you know, thirteen, fourteen, fifteen years old, and I remember
Buffalo going to all of these Super Bowls and I
watched the thirty for thirty and I thought it was great.
And what I want to bring up here is I
think something is something that as we go through time,
we can all relate to. And looking back on Super
Bowl twenty five, I couldn't change the outcome. But at

(06:55):
that time, MANSI, the Bills were thought to be the
hot team in the NFL, the hot new young team
in the NFL. And it's the Giants that come in
that end up somehow making it to a super Bowl
and then are playing a game with a backup quarterback.
What better story than seeing Jeff Hostetler as a backup
go and beat the mighty Buffalo Bills with Jim Kelly

(07:19):
and Thurman Thomas and Andre Reid and Bruce Smith, Cornelius
Bennett and all their great defenders that they had as well.
The Bills were loaded and the Bills were gonna get theirs. Now,
going back watching that thirty for thirty I wish I
hadn't cheered for the Giants in that game. I look
back on it and say, knowing what I know now,

(07:40):
I should have been cheering for the Buffalo Bills. It
wouldn't have changed the outcome. But knowing what I know,
I wouldn't have cheered. Knowing that the Giants then would
get another Super Bowl and upsetting the Patriots, and then
get another one four years later and beating the Patriots again,
and seeing what Buffalo then had to endure over their
next four years. It leads me to this topic, and

(08:00):
this is where we want to hear from you. Eight
seven seven nine nine on Fox. It's eight seven seven
nine nine six six three six'. Nine you could Hit
mancia up At Manzi. Blanas you can find me At
Dan byer On. Fox there has to be a game
or a team in your memory that you look back
and you cheered for. That now you, SAID i WISH

(08:24):
i would have cheered for the other.

Speaker 7 (08:25):
Team, yeah.

Speaker 3 (08:27):
Yeah when you brought this, UP i had one immediately
immediately THAT i thought.

Speaker 4 (08:31):
OF i have always been A Steph curry fan since the.

Speaker 3 (08:36):
BEGINNING i you, know he was a. SHOOTER i was a.

Speaker 4 (08:39):
SHOOTER i was a fan Of Stuph curry and The Splash,
brothers AND i was, Like, okay you, KNOW i can.

Speaker 3 (08:44):
Root for Another california.

Speaker 4 (08:47):
TEAM i may as well root for Another california team
aside from The.

Speaker 3 (08:50):
Clippers AND i WISH i.

Speaker 4 (08:54):
Didn't pick The warriors to be a team THAT i root,
for because since, then The warriors have handed The clippers
some elimination, games some terrible. LOSSES i, Mean Kevin durant
dropped fifty on the playoffs against The clippers in an elimination.
Game HAD i known that The warriors were going to

(09:15):
become this, dynasty MAYBE i would not have cheered as
much for them AS i actually. Did AND i still
root For Steph, curry but like part of me is, like,
man why why WAS i so for them? Winning because
obviously they have so many championships and The clippers can't

(09:36):
even get to.

Speaker 3 (09:36):
One and it's just LIKE i hate. THAT i hate
how MUCH i liked.

Speaker 1 (09:41):
To The warriors weren't, bad but because they Weren't clippers.
Bad AND i don't think you'll take offense to that
because like they're synonymous with. It BUT i could see
like at that point where you're, Like, Okay The warriors
have been a neat story a couple of, times RUN
tmc when they upset The, Mavericks Baron davis and that.

Speaker 4 (10:01):
Thing montellis like, harmless, harmless, correct, Correct.

Speaker 1 (10:06):
And then now you see, back you, know, yes back
to Back Kevin DURANT nba. Champions you look, Back you're,
LIKE i WISH i would have cheered for anybody.

Speaker 4 (10:16):
Else at that anyone else at that, point because there
have been Direct they eliminated us in twenty, nineteen so
it's just.

Speaker 3 (10:23):
Like why DID I why DID i ever root for The?
Warriors BUT i.

Speaker 1 (10:28):
DID i. Did there there are a lot of. INSTANCES
i love it, too when you go into a game
and you don't have a dog in the, Fight, yeah
and you just kind of end up cheering for a.
Team you, know you find your allegiance just naturally takes.
Over you're, Like, Okay i'm Just i'm going to cheer
for that. Team and that happens at, times and because
you don't have a dog in the, fight you can
end up changing it down the line once history kind

(10:50):
of plays. Out BUT i think that we all have those.
TIMES i have a, couple you, know in my, life
we're going to hear from one a little bit, later
BUT i think everybody. Has that doesn't change the. Out
but you're just like you thought at the, time like
you just you're.

Speaker 3 (11:04):
On the wrong. SIDE i think that's the right. Word
me cheering for The warriors of the.

Speaker 4 (11:08):
TIME i thought it was, harmless and then it turned
out it really.

Speaker 2 (11:12):
Was.

Speaker 8 (11:12):
Not.

Speaker 3 (11:12):
Here we are, here we.

Speaker 1 (11:14):
Are let's go To johnny In. Minnesota who's in on, This,
Johnny welcome To cavino and Rich who do you once
cheer for in your life that you look back and,
SAY i wish you, would wish it would have been,
differently or wish you cheered FOR.

Speaker 8 (11:28):
I cheered for The vikings all the, time but once
WHEN i was a young lad in the nineteen ninety
eight freaking, Division, OH i should have Picked. Atlanta i'm
not from oh, My i'm From North. Dakota Well i'm From,
minnesota BUT i grew up In North. Dakota SO i kind, of,

(11:49):
like you, know cheer for The. Vikings but that would
have been a perfect time to, yeah crossover or whatever
you want to call.

Speaker 1 (11:59):
That when The falcons ended up upsetting that Unstoppable vikings
team With Randy Moss Chris, Carter Jake, Reed Randall cunningham
is their. Quarterback Brian billick is the offensive. Coordinator Danny
green is the head, coach setting offensive records left and.
Right and he wanted to cheer for The falcons because

(12:21):
then he wouldn't have had his heart broken When Gary
anderson ends up missing the chip shot field goal that
would have sealed the deal like that in that, Case
LIKE i get it because rather than, one The vikings
team was a fun team to cheer. For BUT i
would think that if you were cheering for The falcons
that day because you felt that The vikings were, unstoppable
kind of like HOW i looked at The, BILLS i

(12:42):
probably would have gone the other. Way LIKE i did
want to See minnesota in the Super. BOWL i wanted
to see A Vikings bronco Super. Bowl we ended up
not getting. That BUT i feel, that you, KNOW i
can SEE i could actually see it the other way
around from Where johnny. Was Ryan, berschinger our executive. Producer
is there a team that you look back and you
wish that maybe you would have changed the lead that
you didn't cheer, For maybe wish that you would have

(13:02):
cheered for.

Speaker 7 (13:03):
It is a game that you have Mentioned, dan Super
bowl forty, Two rich is The Patriots giants the Undefeated.
PATRIOTS i wanted to see the undefeated. SEASON i was
rooting for history at that and it would have been
a whole lot more fun to root for The giants

(13:24):
in that game because of just how tremendous of an
underdog story it. Was of, course The David tyreek ketch
and everything that went along and happened in that game
would have been a great. Time and EVERYBODY i was
with was rooting for The. Giants BUT i couldn't help
but be, like, MAN i.

Speaker 1 (13:38):
Don't, KNOW i want to see an undefeated.

Speaker 7 (13:40):
SEASON i think that would be. Cool, yeah and, no,
NO i do WISH i had more fun watching that.

Speaker 1 (13:45):
One and The patriots had won Previous Super, bowls, Right
so there is a little bit to. That but to see,
HISTORY i could understand. It but To bursch's, point there
were very few people that actually were cheering for The
patriots that point outside Of New, england and he wanted
to see. History Isaac low And kron at the news,
desk this.

Speaker 9 (14:03):
Is a great topic Because i've never heard anybody bring
up this question, before SO i really had to. THINK
i go back to the nineteen ninety Six World. Series
it was The Atlanta braves and The New York. Yankees
it was the first time that The yankees had been
to The World series since eighty. One The braves had
won The World series the year, before AND i remember

(14:25):
rooting for The yankees in That World SERIES i was
in high school because The braves were the favored. Team
they wound up taking the first two against The, yankees
and The yankees at that time were an, upstart underdog.
Team it Was jeter's rookie. Year Joe torrey's brother wound
up getting a heart transplant during the, series his Brother.

(14:48):
Frank so they were a great little engine that could.
Story little did we know that they would turn into
The Evil. Empire SO i wish THAT i would have
rooted for The braves in that, series because in, HINDSIGHT
i think that The, braves with how good they were
in the, nineties deserved to win at least one More

(15:10):
World series in the nineties than the one they did
in ninety.

Speaker 1 (15:14):
Five, yeah they were coming off of that, championship so
why would you want to cheer for back to? Back
And isaac AND i grew up in a. Time i'm
a little older Than, isaac but it's still the same
era Where isaac just gave you the time. Span The
yankees weren't good When covino was growing. Up he's From New.
York he's loving The, yankees he's Loving Don, mattingly but
they weren't Winning World. Series they weren't going to The
America League Championship. Series those things weren't, Happening and so

(15:37):
you looked at The yankees a little different than how
The yankees are now. Viewed and now we've had enough
of their championships and evil empire and everything that comes with.
It BUT i can totally See isaac's. Perspective, Iowa, sam
did you want in on?

Speaker 5 (15:50):
THIS i definitely remember in THE Afc CHAMPIONSHIP Afc championship
Game patriots versus The. CHIEFS i was definitely playing for
The chiefs in that. Game it was the baton being
passed from, one you, know dynasy to. Another AND i
thought of The chiefs at that time as like just
like they had been going to the playoffs every year pretty,

(16:10):
much even With Alex, smith and they Had mahomes at
quarterback And lo and, behold it would be the end
of The patriots sort of run and then the beginning
of A chief's evil, empire As isaac put.

Speaker 1 (16:20):
It, yeah no one could have force seen that The
chiefs would have gone on this. Run but we were
all ready for The patriots one to. End, yes and
so in that, game, yeah The patriots escaped in. Overtime,
yeah and then the four the off, sides, yes, yes
that was the. Game and then did The patriots go
on to play The? Rams?

Speaker 5 (16:42):
Right, okay so that was the thirteen to three, yep
their Last Super. Bowl Then chiefs break through the next, year,
well they got and then it was Against Tom Brady's. Buccaneers, Right,
no that was against the forty nine, ers and then
it was two Years, yes, yes of, course but so,
yes it would unleash a run of supremacy from The.

Speaker 1 (16:58):
Chiefs let's go To dave In, Tempe. Arizona, Dave welcome
To Fox Sports. Radio what's going? On?

Speaker 10 (17:04):
Dave, hey, Guys Happy Friday. Friday so this isn't one
THAT i personally, have BUT i think it's out there
and it's. COMMON i think there are millions of people
out there who were cheering for the Plucky patriots against
the greatest show on turf and had no idea what was.
COMING i think there are a lot of people who

(17:27):
saw that underdog and loved him and grew eventually to
absolutely hate.

Speaker 1 (17:30):
Him oh look at The patriots running out as a,
team you, know like they choose to be a team
all magnificent and again kind of like The giant. Story,
Here Tom brady comes and takes over and takes over
for an Injured Drew bledsoe against the as he, said
greatest show on, turf The Saint Louis rams talking About
Super bowl thirty. Six, yeah When Adam vin And terry

(17:52):
made that field, GOAL i was cheering for The patriots
because there was also The patriots were also a laughing
stock in THE nfl for a. While Bill parcelles took
in to A Super bowl against The packers In Super
bowl thirty, one and then they were destroyed by The
bears In Super bowl twenty when they upset The dolphins
of THE Afc championship. Game But New england didn't have
a great history of winning football up until that. Point

(18:13):
so then they end up going to A Super bowl
and they have that story and The rams with all
of their. Firepower, YEAH i think that's a really good.

Speaker 5 (18:21):
NOMINATION i would have liked to see The rams win
Another Super bowl With Kurt warner like he. Went he
went down only that one one and two with The
rams his, quarterback and then one in three when he
was at The. Cardinals BUT i would like to see
another one because THEY i Like Kurt warner a.

Speaker 1 (18:33):
Lot.

Speaker 7 (18:34):
BIRCH i wanted to throw out another, one AND i
Think i'm sure there are plenty of people who. Agree
we all wanted to see a sixteen seed beat a
one seed the first time in the. TOURNAMENT i was
here when that. Happened virginia was the team THAT i
had winning it all in my, bracket AND i am
sitting in the edit room WATCHING umbc pull off what

(18:57):
is you, know at the, time the greatest upset in college,
basketball the incredible sixteen over. One it's it's, happening AND
i was. FURIOUS i couldn't enjoy it race. SECOND i
was so mad and having to edit highlights of this
game And evan the producers being, like, hey come, on
you got to turn that around really. Quick i'm, LIKE i,
Know i'm doing. It it's my, job and, goodness and

(19:19):
that Was. YEAH i WISH i could have enjoyed that
one for possible points remaining eight after that and it's Only.
Friday it's Only.

Speaker 1 (19:26):
FRIDAY i still there was a there Was there have
been a lot of upsets that we see in THE ncaa.
Tournament And Iowa state was a two seed one year
and they lost To hampton in the first round In.
Boise and it was the last game on A. Thursday
and The hampton coach, like they lift them up and
they kick his legs in the. Air not go Have
Iowa state winning it all Like. Bursted BUT i had

(19:47):
him in the final. Four every time that highlight, PLAYED
i was, like why DID i? PICK i stayed, yes,
yes not THAT i even wanted the other. SIDE i
just didn't want to Pick. Iowa. Stay john is In
West Palm, Beach. Florida all, right going back to the
to the eighties with some. Baseball, John welcome To Fox Sports.

Speaker 11 (20:06):
Radio hey, guys how you doing good? Afternoon how are
you so? Listen nineteen eighty. SIX i was the Hugest
mets fan in The New england area as a, kid
AND i was so glad when that ball went Through
buckner's leg as A mets man living In, boston screaming

(20:27):
with all my gear. On my old man almost threw
me out of the house at twelve years. Old and
NOW i Then i'm the biggest die Had Red sox
fan you ever. Meet And i'm sitting there, going, DUDE
i can't BELIEVE i had to wait twenty years to
see them go to The World series. Again and every
TIME i see that buck go through the, LEG i

(20:49):
remember the NIGHT i was jumping in my bedroom scream
and that you, know The mets were coming back and
it was All and NOW i just REGRETTED i GOT
i SAW i Met skia that my mother keeps still
keep SAYING i told her to burn it last TIME
i saw.

Speaker 1 (21:04):
It oh, man that is a, great great, story so
true as. Well as a, kid you have favorite teams
and then sometimes you all grow them and you just
go back to your hometown. Teams and there are teams
that are flash. Here and maybe he got reeled in
by The Dwight good And Darryl strawberry flash of The,

(21:25):
mets even though he was In Red sox country and
upsetting his.

Speaker 3 (21:29):
Dad upsetting his dad while he's doing, it so Good.

Speaker 1 (21:32):
Man, man great. Nominations let's go to one. More Johnson,
Florida John, Welcome Fox Sports radio And cavino And Rich
hey j Good.

Speaker 12 (21:42):
SO i have one way back in the, DAY i
was born and raised In, california and it was WHEN
i didn't have a dog in the. Fight it was
When miami and The niners, played AND i went with The,
niners not knowing Poor Dan marino would never have another,
shot and learning football and seeing what a quarterback he.

(22:02):
WAS i feel bad that that guy doesn't have a
Super bowl. Rank so that was the ONE i. Was,
YEAH i would have loved To sean win that. Game.

Speaker 1 (22:10):
ABSOLUTELY i think a lot of people would. Agree, yes
you had thought that they were set up because they,
ALSO i, mean they were great as rookie. Year they
were actually knocked out by The seahawks in the playoffs
and the divisional. Playoffs but, yeah you go to The Super,
bowl you think it's always going to happen The niners
weren't The. Niners that win helped them kind of become The,
niners and then they had their back to back wins
In Super bowl twenty three and twenty. Four but, yeah

(22:32):
at that, point Like. Montana The niners were, great but
The dolphins And marino were on par with them in
terms of. Popularity the forty Nine ers had won a
few years earlier Against, cincinnati but they weren't The Niners
niners at that. Point and again you just think, that oh,
yeah they're gonna make it. Back they're gonna make it back.
Again they'll get another. Opportunity, Absolutely and even if you

(22:54):
get another opportunity like The, bills it doesn't guarantee that
you're gonna. Win, Yeah, yeah that's. Rough james tweets In
Chiefs fan cheered for The broncos to win The Super
bowl So elway could. Retire that's what he, Wanted so
he cheered for The broncos In Super bowl thirty three
against The. Falcons they ended up going back to. Back,

(23:14):
then he, says only for them to hire THE gm
and Get Peyton manning and win Another Super. Bowl, yeah sometimes.

Left Adam lingner will snap it.

Speaker 11 (24:44):
No good.

Speaker 4 (24:46):
Wide.

Speaker 1 (24:47):
RIGHT i just got goosebumps and the team THAT i
WISH i would have cheered for. LOST i gotta be,
honest the podcast is not gonna know that that hit
right at the, Beat, sam like that was that was?
Money and twenty seconds Ago sam told, me you, know
you and me are both kind of having one of
Those fridays that are kind Of mondays BECAUSE i called

(25:08):
today A monday, Earlier like that was like that hit
right when he is, like, no good wide, right boom boom, Boom.

Speaker 3 (25:17):
Well, Done, Sam well.

Speaker 1 (25:18):
Done She's Monty, Belahos I'm dan By, Ertz cavino And
rich here On Fox Sports. Radio is it time for
a new? Job that it's time For Express Employment. Professionals
quit the endless online job search and list the pros
And express never charges job seekers a. Fee go To
expresspros dot. Com time for Our Express pro of The
week and this week's pro is Show Heyo Tani. Monte, yes,

(25:41):
yes he'z the pro of the week who got his
one thousandth career hit with a homer On wednesday to
go along with his eight strikeouts on the Mom congratulations
to Show Heyo Tani otani Our Express pro pro of The.
Week the topic that we've started the show with is
the team you look back and wish you it didn't
cheer for, you wish you cheered for the other. Team
for a variety of, reasons we've gotten some great. Nominees

(26:04):
it started out BECAUSE i look, BACK i was cheering
for The giants In Super bowl twenty, five and even
though The bill's, LOST i should have been cheering for
The bills that. Game it was the best opportunity they
had to win A Super. Bowl THIS nfl, SEASON i
think there are gonna be a lot of people cheering
for The bills to finally get That Super bowl, ring
to get over that hump after losing in A Afc
championship game again like they did to The. Chiefs so

(26:25):
that's what we're talking about. Here bill is In. Indiana
i've been giving a heads up on WHERE i Think
bill is, going AND i think he's got a great.
Nominee but we'll all find out. Together, Bill welcome To
caveno And richiere On Fox Sports. Radio.

Speaker 14 (26:40):
Thanks, YEAH i didn't have a dog in the, fight
but when The cubs finally broke Their World Series, STREET
i was cheering for him to do, it and NOW
i WISH i. Hadn't you, know all the all the
correlations they would, say you, know this guy was president
the last time they won A World. Series that's all gone, Now.

Speaker 1 (26:56):
Yes it. Disappeared he did not go to The cup
THAT i. THOUGHT i look back AT o three And.

Speaker 3 (27:02):
Bartman, AH i, see, OKAY.

Speaker 1 (27:04):
I wanted The cubs to win that game because of the,
drought and plus The marlins had just won six years.
Earlier and it's not THAT i wanted The marlins now to,
win it's just The cubs winning now makes me think, like,
well if they would have had one thirteen years, later
at least they got to The World, series like that
would have you, know that kind of erased. Everything SO

(27:28):
i looked back AND i wasn't mad At, bartman BUT
i wanted The cubs to win that series against The. Marlins,
yeah and NOW i look back and WISH i had
it the other way.

Speaker 4 (27:37):
Again marlin's at that both of Their World series they
didn't even.

Speaker 3 (27:41):
Try they just got.

Speaker 4 (27:42):
There and then they got rid of the team after
because the owner was, LIKE i wasn't trying to do.

Speaker 3 (27:47):
This it's the.

Speaker 1 (27:48):
Way they do. Things that's the way they do. It
Jim leland the first, Time jack McKeon some time right
After Bike.

Speaker 3 (27:54):
No no, NO i don't want to pay. Anybody this is
not what we're going.

Speaker 1 (27:56):
For it was two thousand and three was a little
different than nineteen tinety. Seven remember Jan Pierre Ye it
was part of That MARLIN steemuo. Three But Josh beckett
was the was the. Hero there is another game THAT
i look back, At monci in fantasy. Football when you're
playing and you lose a one point, game, yeah. Stinks
well WHAT i try to tell myself is, like, well

(28:16):
as long AS i make the, playoffs maybe that will
help me And i'll be put into a different portion
of the bracket where Maybe i'll get to face a bad,
team so this loss won't. Hurt Like that's HOW i rationalize.
It but in nineteen ninety, seven there was a play
in college football that at the TIME i was very
very mad at Because Ohio state was in the thick
of it for a national championship. Run so anybody that

(28:40):
could LOSE i wanted to, lose and that includes The Nebraska.
Cornhuskers they Played missouri in nineteen ninety seven and this play.

Speaker 2 (28:48):
Happened they're down across to the Middle, Nebraska david And
nebraska it away from time the game.

Speaker 1 (29:04):
The deflection is and they called it the flee kicker
because of the deflections that ended up being caught on
The Scott frost pass By Scott davison and the end.
Zone So nebraska ends up winning it Or Matt, davison excuse,
me in the end, zone they make the extra, point
they tie. It they end up Beating missourian, overtime And i'm, like,
oh there would have been another opportunity for a top

(29:26):
college football team to. Lose but in the, end Because
nebraska stayed on their route to a national, championship they
only Allowed michigan to get co a national, Championship So
michigan had to split the national championship With, nebraska who
at the time of the game again was number one
in the. Country, ultimately that was great for me as

(29:46):
An Ohio state, fan because Then michigan couldn't have the
national championship to. Themselves but at the, TIME i REMEMBER
i was so mad that they caught it and That
nebraska somehow, Survived and THEN i look back on it and, say, okay,
good at least at least they Kept michigan from getting
a full share of that national. Title WHEN i HEAR
i know you are.

Speaker 4 (30:04):
Like two, years, Right and WHEN i hear about winning
a piece of the national, TITLE i can't believe that
was like a.

Speaker 3 (30:10):
THING i can't believe that. WAS i, KNOW i, KNOW i.

Speaker 4 (30:14):
CAN'T i don't know how, you as a fan would
be okay with, That like that would be something THAT
i could not want to share or get.

Speaker 1 (30:22):
Over you want to know WHAT i can't get over
IS i remember that play clear as. Day and that
call was courtesy OF abc in nineteen ninety. Seven it
sounds like it was from nineteen thirty. Two you can
tell Y Brent musburger on the call and it was very. Fuzzy, yes,
yes yes it somebody took it off of THEIR vcr,
yeah and got it from A vhs tape and then

(30:42):
put it up on. YouTube that's why it sounds so.
Poorly oh that's, Memories, yes, memories absolutely distant, memories great, nominees.
EVERYBODY i Love bursches as, well just because it is
very true when you have picks or when you do
have your dog ruins. Everything, yes and he was unable
to enjoy one of the greatest moments in college basketball

(31:07):
history because of his. Bracket oh nothing like seeing six
red dashes like on your way being eliminated brutal On
day one of The ron one of THE Ncaa.

Speaker 6 (31:22):

Caught spinning out of the tackle Touchdown Seahawks.

Speaker 1 (32:24):
Tory horton from ten yards out.

Speaker 2 (32:27):

Speaker 1 (32:29):
Seahawks radio network with the call and that twenty three
twenty three Tie Tory horton has been great for The

Drive ship fast and free back by Free road has

(32:50):
tiraq dot com the way tire buying should. Be again
that coming courtesy of The Seahawks Radio. Network DO i
sense you cutting? Onions so there happen In Major League,
baseball yeah a little.

Speaker 4 (33:03):
Bit today is a game THAT i think we're all
gonna look back and remember It dodgers Playing, toronto.

Speaker 1 (33:15):
But a storied. Rivalry, no it's not about.

Speaker 3 (33:19):
That it's not abou It's.

Speaker 1 (33:20):
Blue, Jays Dodgers, dodgers Blue jays.

Speaker 4 (33:22):
Synonymous i'm talking about pitching, matchups something that you don't
look at.

Speaker 3 (33:29):
Anymore before you used to look at.

Speaker 4 (33:31):
A pitching matchup and decide what game you wanted to
buy tickets to to go watch in. Person that's not
a thing, anymore and today it is a thing you're
seeing of the last breed Of Clayton kershaw And Max
schers are two of the three active players with three
thousand career. Strikeouts they're gonna face each other and this
might be the final. Time this might be the end

(33:54):
of their eras it's it's a matchup that it's a
little sad when you think about.

Speaker 3 (33:59):
IT i don't, know if you.

Speaker 4 (34:01):
Know the fastball is going to go above eighty nine
miles per hour For, kershaw.

Speaker 3 (34:04):
But it's, okay it's all. RIGHT i don't know What Max.

Speaker 4 (34:07):
Schurz was gonna, do but this is one of the
last few TIMES i think that you're looking at a
pitching matchup like you used to back in the.

Speaker 1 (34:15):
DAY i also find it, interesting specifically in the case
of these two. Guys kershaw is winding down his career
with the team that he played his entire career.

Speaker 4 (34:27):
For AND i think we can literally be seen the
end Of kershaw and like he's not going to announce
a farewell. Tour this might be his tour and he
just hasn't said.

Speaker 1 (34:37):
It, YEAH i think that that's. Fair well sures her
has HAD i don't want to say so many, stops
but there's been a lot of. Stops there have.

Speaker 3 (34:46):
Been you, know he was A, DODGER.

Speaker 1 (34:49):
I, mean and when he came up with The diamondbacks
and now you, know looking at it here and seeing
the different logos obviously with The nationals and winning The
World series in twenty. Nineteen remember The tigers team you talked,
about The, Dodgers, Mets, rangers and he's been around Now.
Toronto it is an end of an, era and you,

(35:09):
wonder this is it. Goes you mentioned the three thousand
strikeouts thing OF i still think that there will be
horses In Major League. Baseball there's there's the guy every fifth.
Day may not be for every team that you're going to,
have but you don't always get those. Matchups you used
to get them on Opening day because one versus, one
but then the schedule kind of gets off track because

(35:33):
not everybody's matched up and you're not getting those head to.
Heads and they have these two. GREATS i can understand
why you would get verclemped about.

Speaker 3 (35:39):
It, yeah it's just we don't see this.

Speaker 4 (35:42):
Anymore AND i agree with you that we'll probably we
will see a three thousand strikeout pitcher, eventually but these
two guys what they're.

Speaker 3 (35:51):
Doing and you know our Producer ryan.

Speaker 4 (35:53):
Who brought up when they were rookies that you went
to a game thinking you were going to See Greg
maddox And Randy johnson and said both were scratched for various.
Reasons and then you saw Two ricky's face off for
the first, Time Max schuer's Are Inklan. Kershaw and that
was When ryan in two.

Speaker 1 (36:08):
Thousand two thousand and.

Speaker 7 (36:10):
Eight it's also the last time they faced each other
last then you, see oh.

Speaker 4 (36:16):
My, gosh even MORE i didn't know that that was
the last time they faced each.

Speaker 3 (36:19):
Other it's you, see, guys this is. It turn it,
on watch. It we're never gonna see this. Again WHEN i.

Speaker 1 (36:26):
Can't see it in The World. Series we could.

Speaker 3 (36:29):
Could see it in The World. Series you. Could but the.

Speaker 1 (36:33):
Way things are going right now for The, dodgers maybe
not so, much but you. Could but still Tonight Blewe
jays And dodgers AND i sures Her sureser has just
BEEN i mean we. TALKED i think we talked About
kershaw a. Lot but LIKE i remember When schurzer was coming,
up AND i remember he was even the talk of

(36:55):
the hallways here At Fox Sports radio of, like, hey
The diamondbacks have this, guy you, know look out he's
going to Be and it Was Max shu's if there
was a buzz about, him and he's lived up to
pretty much everything in his career and to see that
winding down and Obviously kershaw's, YEAH i get. It you are, Right.
MANZI i didn't mean to mock your night, tonight just

(37:17):
maybe mocking the tears from. It but it would be
good to see two two veterans who are destined For
cooperstown to be facing off in the.

Speaker 4 (37:24):
Best case scenario is right that they both go, long
then nothing happens and you can see them pitch six
to seven innings and it ends like a traditional, game you,
know not that we see something happens and somebody gets pulled.
Early so hopefully that's what we see and then you,
know MAYBE i.

Speaker 3 (37:39):
MAY i may, CRY i may shut it to you
at the end of that.

Speaker 1 (37:42):
Game sentimental about the the baseball to sures there's. Tears
are they different colors when he? Cries as? Well speaking of,
that what's that condition CALLED i SHOULD i should have
looked it up at the, break BUT i. Didn't it's a.

Speaker 3 (37:56):
Husky he's a, husky you.

Speaker 1 (37:57):
Know it's got the one the one broad eye and
the one blue eye.

Speaker 4 (37:59):
Right and then when he remember when he got pitched
in the, eye got like a ball in the, eye
and then he got a black.

Speaker 3 (38:04):
Eye but it was the light eye that had the black.

Speaker 1 (38:06):
Eye so, yes there it. Is that's the. Condition Dodger
stadium the place to be. Tonight she's, Wance i'm. Dan
the grass isn't always. Greener that's. Next
