Game six Ton, I could have Game seven be in
the works. We know it's going to happen in the
Western Conference. Rivalry weekend in Major League Baseball and a
leaderboard that'll make you cry but not tears of joy
in the PGA Championship. Monzi, Happy Friday.
Speaker 4 (00:34):
To you havevy Friday rivalry week with the Dodgers and
the Angels, which to me, that makes no sense.
Speaker 5 (00:39):
We don't have a rivalry with the Angels.
Speaker 1 (00:41):
Who would it have been? Giants?
Speaker 6 (00:43):
Giants? I feel like is an easy one.
Speaker 4 (00:45):
But right now I think the current our producer, Bob
probably agrees with me.
Speaker 5 (00:49):
I would say the Padres like the Giants.
Speaker 6 (00:51):
The Giants are a historical.
Speaker 5 (00:53):
Rivalry, But I think right now who gets under my
skin the most?
Speaker 6 (00:56):
Padres?
Speaker 1 (00:58):
Bo Benson is hanging out with us as Chris Perfeed
our technical producer Isaac Lohan Crown is at the news
desk to give us the latest. It's funny because the
NFL is also going big with rivalries in twenty twenty five.
There's gonna be unique uniforms, Warren and these rivalry matchups
as they highlight these division showdowns. To me, it's putting
(01:19):
lipstick on a big Don't get me wrong. I love
new uniforms, but I don't need a different uniform to
tell me that the Packers and Bearers are a big rivalry,
or that the Raiders hate the Chiefs like I don't
need a special uniform to tell me that I know it.
And that's what the NFL needs to be aware of.
And if you're really going to do rivalries in the NFL,
(01:40):
do it like Major League Baseball does. Okay, like Major
League Baseball does when you have cross town rivalries. I've
set it for years, Monzi. I think the Jets and
Giants should be playing every single year. I think that
the Chargers and Rams should be playing every single year.
So much that the NFL could do in feeding the
(02:01):
rivalries that we do have present Cowboys and Texans Battle
of Texas every year. We just we just don't. We
just don't get that. I've had them tell me I've
got breaking news five times in my ear We're gonna
get to it. I just had to finish my sentences. Guys,
Isaac Low and cron What do you got.
Speaker 3 (02:19):
Breaking news? From Fox Sports?
Speaker 7 (02:21):
Multiple outlets are reporting that San Francisco forty nine Ers
quarterback Brock Purty has agreed to a five year, two
hundred and sixty five million dollar extension with one hundred
and eighty one million in total guarantees.
Speaker 1 (02:36):
So this breaks down to brock Party making fifty three
million dollars annually.
Speaker 4 (02:42):
Wow, I think he can move out now. I think
he can move out now.
Speaker 1 (02:47):
I think he could do a lot of things now.
But this is this is what you're going to hear
about brock Party in this forty nine ers deal. And
it is not lost on me or Monci boy. Went
Rich Davis like to be in this?
Speaker 6 (03:00):
Absolutely?
Speaker 1 (03:01):
Think about that. They were in earlier today for a
DP show. So that's where Cavino and rich are today.
But if rich Davis is here.
Speaker 6 (03:09):
You know what we should call him?
Speaker 1 (03:11):
Yeah, let's let's get Rich Davis. We'll talk about a bow.
Can you track Rich down? Yeah, to talk about this deal.
Let's put him on his own show. But this is
the this is the conversation with perty. This will not
go away, This never will. He was always going to
be a fifty million dollar quarterback. That was That's what
it was. Whether you thought he was good enough or
(03:32):
not doesn't matter, because you weren't going to get him
at the discount. So the forty nine ers just had
to decide, are we going to pay him fifty million
dollars or are we going to start to play this
game throughout his years of franchise tags and whatever it is.
They seem very willing to pay him that money. And
now if you pay him now, you obviously don't have
(03:52):
to wait down the line where it could even be more.
But fifty three million is right where Jared Goff is.
It's below love, It's below Trevor Lawrence. I think it's
an actual, pretty good sweet spot for the San Francisco
forty nine ers.
Speaker 4 (04:05):
Yeah, I'm really curious to hear what the forty nine
ers fans are thinking. You know, Brandon who also one
of our editors, he's a forty nine Ers fan, and
I think he is not going to be a fan
of this deal. But like you said, it's like he
wasn't gonna take less. What did you want him to
take with what he's done?
Speaker 6 (04:24):
I don't.
Speaker 4 (04:25):
I think the forty nine ers did the right thing
of just let's just get this done and move on. Yes,
because the longer you stretch this out, it does nothing.
At least now you guys can focus on other things.
You have your quarterback for the next couple of years,
focus on other things and get back into it.
Speaker 1 (04:42):
There's here's the argument about party where I think sometimes
WONSI people get into real arguments and fake arguments. And
the real argument was he was going to be paid. Now.
The fake arguments are, well, he should only be making
thirty five million dollars a year. That's not realistic, And
that's what people.
Speaker 4 (05:01):
Were saying though, Sure that was the argument. That's the
number I would hear a lot under forty.
Speaker 1 (05:05):
And that it's just not realistic. You know, No, he
is not taking a Sam Donald sort of deal. He's
not bounced around in the NFL. He also doesn't have
Sam Donald rookie money, which is neither here nor there.
But if you're getting thirty five million dollars a year,
that's about what you're you're getting at that point and
they're just not going to do that deal. It's not
going to happen. So that's not realistic. That's not realistic
(05:29):
of saying they should have never given him that money.
If you wanted to move on from Brockberty, that's that's
totally fine. Yes, now there is going to be the
conversation of is he worth it or is he not
worth the fifty three million dollars That will not go away.
And if you think that you're a forty nine Ers
fan with a half glass empty, like you mentioned Brandon
(05:52):
here at Fox Sports Radio or others, he is going
to have to play three levels above what he has
to reach that money. And realistically, because of how this
team has taken shape, Deebo Samuel's no longer there. Christian
mccafrey again is getting older. There was a purge this offseason.
You're making fifty three million dollars. Now it is on you.
(06:13):
So in other times when Rock Party was under that microscope,
and he was for the last year or two of
does he elevate this team? How do you do when
Brandon Ayuk is out? How do you do when Christian
McCaffrey is hurt. Where does the quarterback take us? Now
he has to do it back? Then maybe it's a well,
this wasn't part of our plan, this isn't how we've done.
Now this is your plan. You are all in on
(06:35):
brock Party, not all all in of sixty million dollars worth,
but enough where you're willing to pay him fifty to
three million dollars. So now brock Party needs to raise
his game to levels two and three, and we.
Speaker 4 (06:45):
Won't have those answers for a bit. Right, We're going
to see how he performs, but yes, he is going
to have to deliver or else There's going to be
a lot of criticism. But I always got the vibe
that the forty nine ers liked him and they didn't
want to go away from him, you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 6 (06:59):
I'm sure that they kind.
Speaker 4 (07:01):
Of got talk to others and got the idea like,
if we let him go, someone is gonna swoop him
up so fast, and so they probably thought let's just
do it not which I think was the right decision.
Speaker 6 (07:12):
Get it done.
Speaker 4 (07:13):
If you liked him so much, it get it done
so you can focus on other things. But yes, now
I know he no longer is mister irrelevant. But now,
like you said, he is going to have to deliver
with weapons that maybe weren't as good a weapons.
Speaker 1 (07:28):
At one point they could have played a sort of
Kirk Cousins game with him and place the franchise tag
on him and then you're paying him top five money.
But I don't know. I don't know how you are
with vehicles. But what I've always felt with this is
get the car you want.
Speaker 4 (07:45):
Mm hmm.
Speaker 1 (07:46):
And the reason I say that is because you're already
in for X amount.
Speaker 3 (07:51):
Ye.
Speaker 1 (07:52):
Now, I'm not saying that you should be buying a
car that's twice the amount of your budget, but if
it's a little more. I'm not trying to be Dave
Ramsey here, this is the anti Dave Ramsey. But if
you want a car that's a little bit more that
you'll be happy with it, then the one that you
are sitting there saying driving to work every day, I
(08:13):
being like, I hate this piece of crap.
Speaker 5 (08:14):
I hate work thinking of the other car the entire
time that.
Speaker 1 (08:17):
You could have got Yes, when you're already in for
X amount, and why is just a little bit more?
Speaker 8 (08:22):
Yep?
Speaker 1 (08:23):
I feel that's the way with the forty nine ers,
where they just loved brock Purty enough. They didn't want
to play the franchise tag game. They didn't want to
get in a situation where they're taking him year and
year and there's animosity between the two sides. I truly
believe they and this shows it, and their actions throughout this,
not only this process, but the entire process that he's
(08:45):
been on the team of taking over and being that
guy shows that John Lyncha and Kyle Shanahan are in
on Brock Party and this just entire this confirms it.
So for them, it isn't worth paying somebody else thirty
seven million dollars. It wasn't worth them to be like,
you know what, Yeah, we'll go in a different direction.
We'll give that quarterback as Sam Darnold deal because we
(09:07):
like Party so much. We'll pay the extra twenty five
to thirty percent that it's going to cost. So they're
maybe in that case forty fifty percent, but they're fine
with it, and there's there's already going to be a cost.
Now the deal is done, Manci, and now I'll allow
all the other quarterbacks to top Rock Party salary and.
Speaker 5 (09:23):
Brock Party in a short time has delivered for them.
Speaker 6 (09:26):
It's not they believe in him.
Speaker 4 (09:27):
They already saw that in big moments he can step
up to the plate and deliver for them.
Speaker 6 (09:32):
But yes, now the expectation is has.
Speaker 4 (09:35):
Gone higher and he is going to be under a
microscope because it's the forty nine Ers, and I just
I think the fan base. Every time I would hear
from the fan base, they're very split.
Speaker 6 (09:44):
On Brock Party.
Speaker 4 (09:45):
It wasn't one where it was a lot of split.
Every time I heard them discussing.
Speaker 1 (09:49):
It, I understand why. I also understand that this is
a franchise that as quarterbacks of where a lot of these,
a lot of the fan base outside of the Bay
Area came. Joe Montana, Steve Young, Jeff Garcia played good
quarterback for them for a while. Colin Kaepernick led him
(10:10):
to a Super Bowl quarterback playing the San Francisco forty
nine Ers go hand in hand when Jimmy Garoppolo was there.
People forget when Jimmy Garoppolo was brought over from New England,
the forty nine Ers were awful, and then Jimmy goes
and wins these final games and all of a sudden,
he's the next, they took an overthrow of Emmanuel Sanders
in a Super Bowl for people to be like, all right,
is he early our guy? Is he? Is he really
(10:32):
our guy? And now brock Purty is going to be
dealing with that those same sort of things. I think
he already has been.
Speaker 6 (10:38):
He has been here, he was.
Speaker 1 (10:40):
People are critical of brock Party in the overtime of
Super Bowl fifty eight, and missing, I believe is Brandon
Ayuk over the middle on a play that was in
the red zone in overtime where they ended up having
to kick a field goal and then the Patrick Mahomes
and the Chiefs ultimately win it. But they're at that
point people are saying, see, Mahomes makes that play, brock
Party doesn't. All of that is fine now though for
(11:02):
brock Party, now is where I think all of that
is legit. Brock Party played the role that he needed
to play, but now he's in a different tax bracket,
and with that, your game is under the microscope even.
Speaker 4 (11:14):
That much more quickly, just looking at some of the comments,
I'm telling you it's such a split. Rock Party deserves more.
His agent robbed the forty nine ers. Literally, it is
such a split feeling as to whether brock Party deserved
this or not. And I think he did, and I
think he And also who else were you gonna get?
Speaker 1 (11:37):
That's that's and that goes back to yeah, to the
point of there was talk of Sam Darnold possibly being
an option because of the year that he spent there,
that he goes to Minnesota and thrives Minnesota says we're
gonna stick with JJ McCarthy. Hey, what about the rumor.
I don't think Kyle Shanahan and John Lynch ever entertained it.
Speaker 6 (11:57):
I don't think so.
Speaker 1 (11:58):
And I'll also say some thing about this. When you're
dealing with the quarterback position in the NFL, it is
not like the other positions in the NFL. And I
know that teams may not love it or players may
not love it if someone is handed a job. But
(12:19):
there's the flip side of that, if you want your
quarterback to be the leader of the team. Now, when
you're seeing guys on the offense like a Deebo Samuel
be moved out, Brandon Ayu coming back off of a
knee injury, he is he was on the trade block
even after signing that sort of deal. Trent Williams is
gonna move on at some point, Solil Christian McCaffrey. Now's
(12:42):
the time for Brock Perdy to be that guy, to
be that leader. And I believe that Kyle Shanahan and
John Lynch have always felt that he is that guy,
and now they need him to be that guy. I
don't think that they ever wavered on Purty, and these
numbers show it. I don't think it's a bad deal, Moncie. Honestly,
I don't.
Speaker 6 (13:00):
I don't think so either, And I'm with you.
Speaker 4 (13:01):
It's kind of like, now you put this to this,
Now you put this down, you put it to the side, whatever,
and Brock Party doesn't have to worry about it and
can just step into the leadership role.
Speaker 6 (13:13):
The conversations are over. There's nothing to discuss.
Speaker 1 (13:14):
You're here is the leader?
Speaker 6 (13:15):
Are you are the leader? You're here for the next
five years. Thank you. Let's go win a suit.
Speaker 1 (13:19):
Change is number to fifty three for the average annual
salary that he's going to make to remind everyone that
is who he is tomorrow, Bowman or number fifty three.
I think he might have maybe maybe somebody else now
has fifty three for the forty nine ers. But point
is it's now his team.
Speaker 6 (13:35):
The fact that you even kind of know that is.
Speaker 1 (13:37):
And again and again you're in for X amount. The
why that you paid for brock Party shouldn't be the
reason why you're crying about this deal. And that's what
I think we do in these situations. But now it's
up to brock Party to carry the forty nine ers
back to the postseason. She is Monty Belano. So I'm
Dan Byer. We are in for Cavino and Rich, No
(13:59):
luck Rich? Rich is m I a bo Benson? What's
an eta do we haven't?
Speaker 9 (14:03):
Rich just texted me, so do you want to take
Rich now or to tell him to call?
Speaker 1 (14:07):
Yeah, let's bring him up out.
Speaker 9 (14:08):
Let me let me get let me get him on,
because this is his show and I show.
Speaker 1 (14:13):
I mean, he is the rich of Cavino and Rich.
When when Ornberg are you, and when Ornberger hangs out
with us and it's Rich, I'm like, well, he kind
of just takes the role of Rich because he is
there and it's Cavino and Rich a different rich.
Speaker 5 (14:27):
But when it's you and I, you're rich and I'm Cavino.
Speaker 1 (14:31):
I know I think you're rich because you're riches share.
Speaker 10 (14:34):
Okay, Okay, I guess that was because Cavino is Latino,
so I was like, I'll take Cavino.
Speaker 1 (14:39):
That could fit as well.
Speaker 6 (14:40):
You know what I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (14:41):
Rich and I are kind of dorky and our football
love as well. But I just I think I think
that it would be unfair to make Rich Davis wait
until Monday to talk about this deal as you were
in for Dan Patrick earlier. Today, Rich Davis joins his
own show on Fox Sports Radio of Cavino and Rich.
We felt no better a person to call to get
the reaction on this brock Party forty nine ers deal
(15:03):
than the host of this show, Rich Davis. Welcome into
your own show. What do you think about this deal?
Speaker 2 (15:08):
You know, it's funny. I thank god it's the brock
Party deal. You know when you take a nap, you know,
up early for Dan Patrick, my phone had like a
hundred messages. I'm like, oh my god, who died and
I'm brock Party. I just saw it as I was
looking as you guys called. And let me tell you,
I don't love it or hate it. I wish I
(15:29):
had more of a solid opinion, but I think I
heard Monty say, listen, something you don't have to worry
about now for a while if you're a Niners fan,
And maybe the market will catch up where it doesn't
look like a bad deal. But as of right now,
I really wanted it to be in the forties. But
then again, I mean, brock Purty played a couple good
years as a forty nine er for like a bag
(15:49):
of peanuts, so I don't know, maybe it's a little
retro there.
Speaker 1 (15:51):
Right. So Deshaun Watson makes forty six million dollars a year, okay,
and we've saw like how awful that is. And if
you're Brock Party, like you're saying, I'm not making less
than Deshaun Watson, so that like that is not going
to be the case. And that's been my point, Rich,
is the forty nine ers were already in for X
amount unless they wanted somebody else to be their quarterback.
And I never thought that Kyle Shanahan or John Lynch
(16:14):
ever waivered from Brock Party. So if they have to
pay a little extra tax because of their belief, then
they're going to do it. But right now, and just
to give you the names that I've got in front
of me on this computer screen that you don't Jordan loved,
Trevor Lawrence and Tua. I'll make more than Brock party
on an annual basis. And I don't think that you
know when.
Speaker 2 (16:34):
You say that. When you say that, I feel better
about it. And the reality is my only I guess
my only hold up would be if the Niners didn't
give them that amount of money. I wonder if anyone
else would have given brock Purty that money, Like, I
really don't know. Like the Giants have like four quarterbacks
they are the Titans have drafted their guy like who
was ready to be Like, all right, Niners, if you're
(16:55):
not going to do it, we're gonna do it. That's
my only thought. But it seems like they're doing right by,
so you know, maybe he goes when he wins one.
Speaker 4 (17:02):
Let's hope not to put you on the spa rich,
But what is it that makes you feel like you
wish it was in the forties? What is there something
specific about him that you're just like, I just don't
know if I trust this part of his game.
Speaker 6 (17:14):
I don't need to put you on the spot.
Speaker 3 (17:16):
But why no, no, right no?
Speaker 2 (17:17):
I like Bruck pretty a lot and you know, and
guys like Gottlieb and you know, other people all along,
we're just not believers. I was like, listen, he's way better.
I watch him week in and week out. I'm a
fan of what brock Perty does. I just feel like
that top tier money is reserved for the josh Allens
and Mahomes of the world. And I know when you
overpay for quarterback. We've noticed that. You know, that's when
(17:37):
teams have to take a little step back. Buffalo is
the anomaly where they seem to, you know, go through something,
and they ended up in the AFC Championship Game. I
just hoped the forty nine ers didn't have to shed
too much to make this happen. But then again, the
NFC West isn't that strong, so maybe they find a
way no matter what.
Speaker 1 (17:54):
Anyway, and here's the reference point is Pertty is going
to be entering the final year of his deal. The
franchise tag next year would have been about forty six
million dollars. But if you pay him forty six million dollars,
they're not There's not the flexibility that you can do
with the contract in that scenario. And that's right at
the Deshaun Watson number. And so for me, like, if
you wanted to save seven million dollars, then where are
(18:14):
you saving it? Right in terms of like where are
you putting it elsewhere? And to me, I just said,
if you like that that car better than that other car,
hay a little bit more for it. And I feel
that's what John Lynch and Kyle shan Andy said it
in this situation. They just like Brock party more and
that's what they want to drive to work.
Speaker 2 (18:31):
Hey, you know what Cavino drove down to San Diego.
You see like the interior of one car more than
the other.
Speaker 11 (18:36):
So there you go.
Speaker 2 (18:36):
It's just Steve Cavino, you know.
Speaker 1 (18:39):
There you go. Well, now you're brock Purty dilemma and
headache is now solved. You'll be a forty nine er
for a long time making fifty three million dollars a year.
What a way to start a weekend.
Speaker 2 (18:50):
I could safely buy a jersey now, right.
Speaker 1 (18:52):
I mean yeah that, yes you can. Rich, have a
great weekend. We'll see you back here here on Monday.
Speaker 6 (18:57):
Thanks, Rich, All right, let it go?
Speaker 1 (19:00):
All right? Rich Davis noted forty nine ers fan, yeah
of Cavino and Rich here on Fox Sports Radio. She
is Monty Belaanios, I'm Dan Byer. It's funny Rich falls
into that, to that Brandon group that you talk of, Yes,
but the people are so hung up on the number.
Speaker 6 (19:17):
Yep.
Speaker 5 (19:18):
And when you just listed those quarterbacks that make more
than him.
Speaker 6 (19:22):
That's all you need to hear.
Speaker 1 (19:23):
And there's going to be another quarterback that now is
going to put their stats to Brock parties. They'll make
fifty three point two million dollars or fifty four point million.
You know what this ultimately does. This ultimately makes Dak
Prescott's deal just look even more ridiculous at sixty million
dollars a year totally. I mean yeah, for being thirty
two years old. Like when you're breaking down the yearly
(19:45):
salaries of this, which I think is the best way
to look at this, that's how you rank it. Like
there's such a gap. There's a five million dollar gap
between Joe Burrow and Josh Allenhore at fifty five million
and Dak Prescott who's at sixty million, and the forty
nine ers are perfectly content with trying to build a
team around Brock Purty but still pay him fifty three
(20:06):
million dollars. The Packers are the same way with Jordan Love.
He's also had fifty five million dollars per year. Yeah,
it's it's it's crazy and Rockperty gets paid and the
Cowboys look bad? What else is doing? She's Bonzi Blania.
So I'm Dan Buyer Boat Benz and this year so
is Chris Praffett and Isaac Lohincron. It is a big
weekend for the NBA, But there's an NFL story that
(20:28):
has grabbed our attention. What about if your favorite team
told you you can't go to their games anymore? What
how would you take it? That's next on Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 3 (20:38):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in
the nation. Catch all of our shows at Foxsports Radio
dot com and within the iHeartRadio app. Search FSR to
listen live.
Speaker 1 (20:50):
This is a live look at Brockperty's house right now.
This is this I this has got to be the feeling.
I'm glad to sign to deal that paid me fifty
three million dollars a year. Yes, I don't know who's this?
Speaker 10 (21:02):
This is uh Don? Is this his name is? That's
a kuluo and Daddy Yankee. It's not just so I
think the listed Yeah, Okay, Dono Matter is the guy,
the main guy, but I know there's other people in it.
Speaker 6 (21:17):
That's a Kuluo is the name of the song.
Speaker 1 (21:18):
That's the voice of Monzi Bolango. So I'm Dan Bayer.
We are in for Cavino and Rich on this Friday.
Rich Davis just called into his own show on the
heels of the story that brock Perdy got a new
deal from the forty nine ers. It'll pay him at
fifty three million dollars annually. Isaac will have more details
on the contract, coming up with an update with us
(21:41):
in about eight minutes or so. PG Championship going on
in so much more. Sticking with football, Manzi, by the way,
you can get her on ex at Moncey Bolano. So
you can find me at Dan Bayer on Fox, also
on Blue Sky. Put our pre show tweet on Blue
Sky as well at Dan Bayer. That's b E y
E R. There is a story that I don't know
if it has gained national attention, but I feel that
(22:04):
everybody in this country that's a sports fan can relate
to it one way or another. The Green Bay Packers
told their season ticket holders back in February that their
tickets would be revoked if they found out that they
were being sold and they weren't being used. This isn't
an effort for the Packers to try to keep away
visiting fans from coming to lambeau Field and one family
(22:31):
god by the name of Rick Alstadt, told WTMJ and
Milwaukee that he received a letter from the Packers saying
because his family did not attend their games and their
Gold package. And there are two packages with Packers tickets.
There's a Green and a gold. The gold one is
to Milwaukee Market where you get three games a year,
one of which was a preseason game. Because they did
(22:52):
not attend any of their gold season games from the
Gold package, their season tickets would be revoked at says
that he now lives in Nevada. They were his parents
season tickets. His dad had health problems, his mom had
health problems. Unfortunately, both have recently passed away. What they
(23:12):
had done with the tickets is they had sold them
on ticket Master and felt that everything was a okay,
But now they don't have season tickets after it being
in the family for a long time. On the surface,
I think this sounds like a heartbreak story.
Speaker 4 (23:29):
On the surface, that's the perfect word, Dan, you stole
it from my head.
Speaker 1 (23:33):
But on the surface, a team taking away this season
tickets of an of a long standing and committed family
who was behind the green Bay Packers. But this isn't
a surface question, you know it's not. We see it
through every single stadium in the National Football League with
visiting fans taking over. This is also a Packers organization
(23:59):
that isous for having a line of people wanting season tickets.
And I told this story before, but my aunt and
uncle put their names on the season ticket wait list
for the Green Bay Packers in nineteen seventy one. They
finally got them in two thousand and four, following a
renovation which added seats. So there is a long, long line.
(24:23):
Thirty to fifty years is the time frame that you
would have to wait to get Green Bay Packers season tickets.
That's probably what makes this family so bitter about this,
knowing that they had such a valuable commodity. But I
don't know how you can argue if if you're Green Bay.
(24:44):
I don't know how how you can argue if you're
this family saying that they should keep the tickets. If
you aren't using them. I feel that there is a
responsibility to beating a season ticket holder, and if you
aren't going to games and you're just selling them, then
let them go to someone else. This shouldn't be a
money making proposition for you, no matter what the circumstances are.
Speaker 4 (25:07):
Yeah, I agree with you one hundred percent. When you
first sent me the story, I was like, well, this sucks.
That sucks that the Packers are doing this. But again,
that's the surface. When you dive into it, you're like, Oh,
you don't even live here, you live in Vegas. Oh
wait a second, when was the last time you went
to a game.
Speaker 6 (25:24):
I would like to know.
Speaker 4 (25:25):
I'm really sorry that your parents who had the seats,
who were sick and you weren't able to go. But
there's so many questions where it's like, it does seem
like you're just doing this for money, And at this point,
the Packers have every right, especially if they.
Speaker 5 (25:37):
Have a long line of people trying to get season tickets.
Speaker 6 (25:41):
No, no, I really can't blame the Packers.
Speaker 4 (25:44):
You know, I have season tickets to the Chargers, and no,
I definitely.
Speaker 6 (25:48):
Saw a lot of them.
Speaker 1 (25:49):
But you go to a game, Oh, I absolutely.
Speaker 6 (25:52):
Go to a game.
Speaker 5 (25:52):
And the reason we have them is because we bought
them when they were at.
Speaker 6 (25:55):
Stub Hub Center.
Speaker 4 (25:56):
Was that the name of it over in like Carson,
the smaller the soccer stadium.
Speaker 6 (26:00):
We got them when they were playing there and we
went all the time.
Speaker 5 (26:03):
Now that it's at so far, obviously it's a little
harder to get out there.
Speaker 4 (26:06):
But if they came up to us and we're like, hey, listen,
if you're gonna only sell this, it would change our
approach to the season.
Speaker 6 (26:13):
Right.
Speaker 4 (26:13):
But this guy seems like, I want to know when
the last time you use these tickets. I really do,
and it sucks, But I think I'm on the side
of the Packers.
Speaker 1 (26:21):
Here eight seven seven nine nine on Fox it's eight
seven seven nine nine to six six three six'. Nine
if you're a season ticket, holder are The packers in
the right or are The packers in the wrong in?
This are you one of those people who try to
get their hands on, tickets because that's another, Thing, MANZI
i Understand packers fans or The packers Wanting packers fans
(26:41):
in the Stand of, COURSE i did notice a louder
contingent of visiting fans At lambeau this. Year it may
not be the loudest stadium in THE nfl for intimidation,
wise but you're usually not hearing audible cheers from the other,
team which didn't drown up The. Packer it wasn't fifty
(27:01):
to fifty by any. Means that's not WHAT i was,
saying but there did seem to be more visiting fans
coming to. Games and this brings up in that question
as well as they're saying they Want packer fans in the.
STANDS i think that in this case, Here Green bay
is so different than the other thirty one teams in THE.
(27:21):
Nfl maybe they're not as different as a team that's
popular like The chiefs or you, know where you have
a diehard Fanilies buffalo right, now the way that they're,
PLAYING i would feel it's probably the same. Way but
THE nfl is also so popular that you have fans.
Everywhere so now if you, are say A Dallas cowboys
fan living In Green, bay it's gonna be a lot
(27:44):
harder for you to get, Tickets but you also want
to go see your team play when they were in
your own, Backyard SO i get. That it's you, know
there's there's a given a take with all of, This but,
ultimately in this, SITUATION i think The packers have every
right if it's been multi seasons that they haven't attended. Games,
yes they do have a smaller package as well as.
(28:04):
Others but if you're not going to use, them and
you're going to use it for a money making, scheme
then let it go to a, fan you, know a different.
Speaker 4 (28:11):
Family, yeah what this guy is, doing a lot of
people do it across THE. Nfl BUT i do think
the location, matters like you just, Said, lambeau and the
fact that there's a line to get season tickets like they're.
Speaker 1 (28:22):
Years what if? That if?
Speaker 4 (28:25):
That AND i am, Curious LIKE i, AGAIN i don't
think this is going to change my, mind BUT i
want to know if The packers told these season ticket
holders and so this guy has three, Games it's, like
if you would have shown up to two and sold,
one does that count as he showed up for majority of?
Speaker 6 (28:42):
Them and maybe they don't take away his.
Speaker 1 (28:44):
Ticket it wouldn't have Been it wouldn't have been the
one hundred. Percent it wouldn't have been a hundred. PERCENT
I i also don't have a problem with. This this
happens more in college, FOOTBALL i, think BUT i think
it happens in THE, nfl where you can buy your
season tickets and let's say there's like A Mark key.
GAME i have A i have a buddy who's, like
you know, WHAT i will pay for the crappy games
(29:04):
that The Wisconsin badgers play in non conference because guess,
What alabama's coming this, year or this is the year
That Ohio state's In. Wisconsin So i'll pay for those
other six games knowing That i've got tickets to the
GAME i want to go. To WHAT i think happens
in THE. Nfl it's the opposite IN. La you're, like,
well The, Raiders i'll just sell my tickets to The, raiders,
right and THEN i can pay for all of my
(29:25):
other tickets As so it goes both ways when you're
talking about. Tickets ryan's In South dakota one wanting to
talk about this ticket. Dilemma, Ryan welcome To cavino And.
Speaker 8 (29:35):
Rich, hi, guys doing.
Speaker 1 (29:37):
Great how are, you? Hey?
Speaker 11 (29:38):
Ryan i'm doing. Well packer fan.
Speaker 12 (29:41):
Here out of suit, BALLS i have one on the
side of The Green Bay. Packers there are people in
the fan base that sign up their grandchildren because they
know they're going to be six feet under by the
time that they can use these. Tickets and if you
look at the last couple of years At lambeau for
(30:01):
the home, Stadium minnesota's taken over the home. Stadium MOST
afc teams take over the, stadium and that is almost
solely because season ticket holders are selling their.
Speaker 2 (30:13):
Tickets and if you're.
Speaker 1 (30:15):
Not going to show up to any, game do, This
and most.
Speaker 12 (30:19):
Of the fans were on the side of.
Speaker 1 (30:20):
Them, Yeah ryan appreciate the call if you're not going
to show up to any. Game And i'm sure it's
difficult For ryan In South, dakota but he'll track Across
minnesota And wisconsin and get what he needs to. Do
and parts OF Iow i'm sure are included in that.
Truck but, YEAH i mean like there's there's a there's a,
commitment there's a responsibility to being a season ticket.
Speaker 4 (30:40):
Holder absolutely you have to live up to. It and,
again not one hundred percent like this. Guy you're upset
about three games that you haven't gone to LIKE i.
Have i'm having a hard time having sympathy for.
Speaker 1 (30:51):
You it's too had Little boud about his family situation
WHICH i think you do as.
Speaker 6 (30:54):
Well, yes, absolutely but.
Speaker 1 (30:56):
Ultimately this is a business, decision, yes. Yeah and if
you haven't, gone and obviously, okay now we're going to
go cause mom and dad aren't going to be, here
well then everybody's going to have that. Excuse, unfortunately, absolutely
so it stinks for. Them joey's In. Minneapolis welcome To
Fox Sports. Radio. Joey what do you.
Speaker 3 (31:13):
Got, hey, Guys toballa as.
Speaker 12 (31:15):
Well my dad is a season ticket holder member and
we're both shareholders with the. Packers and one thing over
the past few years and before this was, announced was
that a.
Speaker 8 (31:25):
Lot of the.
Speaker 12 (31:27):
Ticket members were selling their tickets non, stop trying to
turn a profit on, it, when like.
Speaker 11 (31:32):
You guys, said there's a long long list.
Speaker 12 (31:34):
Thirty fifty years of. People wait a, truth Diehard attacker
fans who want to watch the games keep it in their,
family and the team also wants to keep it in
the community as.
Speaker 8 (31:44):
Well they don't want up selling.
Speaker 12 (31:45):
Tickets so if you're not going to go to, games
LIKE i can understand that if you had like an
obligation to go to so many, GAMES i don't know
what that. IS i actually never, asked but you have to.
Speaker 2 (31:53):
Go to so many.
Speaker 12 (31:54):
Games, otherwise if you're just selling, them you gotta give
it to someone else who's actually going to go.
Speaker 2 (31:59):
To the game in.
Speaker 12 (32:00):
Them.
Speaker 1 (32:01):
Yeah, literally if there's a line of people, waiting you
kind of got to deal with them as. Well it's
not just, Hey i'm, HERE i get to do WHAT
i want WHAT i.
Speaker 4 (32:10):
Want and this isn't how we would feel about every,
stadium you know What i'm.
Speaker 6 (32:14):
Saying it's Just lambeau is.
Speaker 5 (32:16):
Special, like is there anything else to do In?
Speaker 1 (32:18):
Wisconsin, Damn, yes there's a lot to. Do monty's for another.
Speaker 4 (32:23):
Day but you know WHAT i, Mean like they they
they dive so much into the, packers the, people they're,
like that is their thing to.
Speaker 6 (32:31):
Do here In la you.
Speaker 4 (32:32):
Can be a part of so many different. Teams there's
they're left and, right left and. Right so it's like
it's more sacred out. There those tickets are more sacred out.
Speaker 9 (32:40):
There you know what might may be more sympathetic for this.
Individual you mentioned that he sold the tickets Through. Ticketmaster,
yes The ticketmaster does posit, itself as you, know the
official ticket marketplace of THE. Nfl SO i wonder if
he's selling these tickets because it's, like, well you, know
this is where THE nfl sells these, tickets so it
can't be that.
Speaker 1 (32:56):
Big of a. DEAL i think that's what he was.
Speaker 9 (32:58):
Thinking, Yeah LIKE I i understand it, There like if
you're you're officially selling them Through, TICKETMASTER i don't THINK
i should be getting penalized for that if opposed to
selling them On facebook or Stub hub or something like.
Speaker 1 (33:09):
That it's it's it's an interesting it's an interesting. Dilemma
we want to get your thoughts on a eight seven
to seven nine to six six three six. Nine that's eight,
seven seven nine nine On. Fox we're gonna go To
Isaac lohnkrown from an, update and then we're gonna hear

solution to this season ticket, problem, okay which Is i'll

Years it's time for our play of the. Day runners

also a season ticket older for The Ravens Ken welcome
To cavino And rich On Fox Sports.
Speaker 11 (35:09):
Radio oh, Awesome thank you for taking the. Call it's
a little more, complicated at least In. Baltimore i've been in,
upstairs upstairs end zone season ticket holder for about eighteen,
years and up, there all of the people in the
seats are the same. People about five years, ago we
(35:29):
upgraded ourselves to some, downstairs, awesome, awesome awesome, seats and
me and my partner and the two people next to
us are the only same people down there every. Game
the rest of those people are all investors selling those.
Tickets so it's a little more complicated than just are
(35:51):
you a season ticket, holder it's are you a season
ticket holder where in the.
Speaker 4 (35:56):
Stadium that is a good point because they're is probably
a section where companies have those seats and they're constantly
giving them to employees or.
Speaker 6 (36:06):
To their family and. FRIENDS i never thought of, that.
Speaker 1 (36:08):
But also Like lambo doesn't have, it they, well they
do have an upper deck in the end zone they've
got it's mostly a. Bowl AND i totally get what
he is. Saying, yeah the corporate nature and how expensive
those tickets are also make it a lot less, affordable
as he, said and you alluded to as, well for
fans to do. So but at least you're not taking
(36:28):
away from the. Corporations, no, no in that, aspect and
maybe those corporations so this guy's, point weren't putting them
On ticketmaster so you could track that they weren't being.
Used mike's In. Indianapolis, Mike welcome To camuno And rich
On Fox Sports.
Speaker 8 (36:42):
Radio, HEY i appreciate you guys taking my. Call, UH
i think it's kind of bogush to take somebody's whether
they go to the games or.
Speaker 11 (36:53):
Not this is a.
Speaker 8 (36:54):
Business The packers already got their. Money they're not being
sweethearts and just giving away season ticket To packers. Fans
they're charging a premium for, Him so somebody who inherited
those tickets should also be able to make money if
they so. Choose, Also, MONTY i love you not a personal,
dig but saying that you know it would be different
(37:16):
at at the stadiums is kind of. Weak same, time, guys, yeah, no.
Speaker 4 (37:21):
Thanks if you want to, KNOW i think it does
depend on the.
Speaker 6 (37:24):
STADIUM i stand by.
Speaker 4 (37:25):
THAT i do feel that, way BUT i do wonder
back to this guy from The. Packers was he given
a warning and sent was it just pulled from under?
Him and if he has the reason and it's, like,
okay we'll give you another, shot maybe that's how the
approach should have.
Speaker 1 (37:41):
Been The packers gave the option to, appeal.
Speaker 6 (37:45):
Right and he appealed, yes and they.
Speaker 1 (37:47):
Denied they said, Sorry BUT i want to.
Speaker 4 (37:50):
Know like did he know this was a thing or
was it just, like, hey we noticed you haven't. Gone
because if you tell the person if you don't go
to over fifty percent of your, games we're going.
Speaker 6 (37:58):
To strip your. Tickets and and they still don't.
Speaker 4 (38:00):
Go it's, like, okay but they warned, You SO i
GUESS i just want to know was he warned or.
Speaker 1 (38:05):
Not i'll say, THIS i think that you're. Right it is.
Different i'm, sorry it just. Is you can't Compare lambofield
to Where State Farm stadium In arizona with it's just
it's just not the same and it isn't about, money
and that's actually WHY i like it about The. Packers
it's about bringing a home field advantage and it's not
about the. Dollars you get tickets as a reward to
(38:26):
go see those, teams not to make a. Buck that's
not why you sign up for a season ticket. List,
absolutely She's Monte. Milanios I'm Dan. BYER i still want
to talk about, this but there's also a game six
tonight and a game Seventh sunday that's next On Fox Sports.
Radio
