But I do feel that if you're going to use
a tweet to commemorate today, works because it's five, right,
A five or a zero ten? Works when you do

Six years is not.

Speaker 1 (01:20):
Adam Schefter took time today to tell us that one
year ago, at two forty two Eastern time, Saquon Barkley
had agreed to terms with the Philadelphia Eagles. I feel
that's low hanging fruits. Okay, I feel that's just a
reason to get to get retweets and likes.

our executive producer, Hello everybody, and welcome back Iowa. Saam,

(02:18):
I was Sam, thank you very much, good to be back,
Good to see you. You were gone for a couple
of days. Yes, I was in Iowa honoring your late.

Speaker 6 (02:27):
Grandmother, tending some family matters with Carl Winslow and Erkele. Yes,
I was saying goodbye to my ninety four year old grandmother.
She had a great life. She was born about a
year and change after the stock market crashed, wow, and
the Great Depression started to put things into perspective.

Speaker 1 (02:41):
Well, we're glad that you were able to speak at
her ceremony and have a great time. Therefore, there was
something that happened while Sam was gone, Manzie, that I
do want to bring to your attention and everyone's attention.
I know Sam, Like, Sam's going back home. It's bittersweet
because of the reason why he's coming back home, but
there is like a bit of a bit of an energy.

(03:01):
You're going back home, seeing people you want, seeing your girlfriend, right,
the whole deal. Yeah, absolutely, absolutely so I say to Sam,
give me a picture of Iowa. I want to see it, Like,
let me see what the Midwest is right now? And
not a nothing, nothing, not a picture, nothing, not this
was He flew out on Wednesday or was it Wednesday

(03:23):
or Thursday? Thursday, very early Thursday morning. Okay, So nothing
on Thursday because we had said the day before Sam,
at twenty four hours from now, you're going to be
in Iowa. Yeah, And so he didn't. He didn't send
any picture to Jason or I and so I'm like, well,
maybe he just wasn't in a good spot.

Speaker 3 (03:40):
Sure, okay.

Speaker 1 (03:41):
And then the next day he did send a picture okay,
and it was a dandy I'll tell you so much.
So I actually have tweeted it. I want people win
today or just now. Okay. So when you go on
vacation or you go somewhere. This is no disrespect to
what it was. But I'd just thought maybe you'd be
like maybe the maybe Kinnick Stadium, Maybe you'd be outside

(04:04):
Carver Hawkeye, being like, hey, I'm back in Iowa City.
Maybe be where the Cedar Rapids Kernels play. Instead, you
just took a step out on a back porch and
took a picture and said this is Iowa. This is
the exact opposite a field of dream. I thought you
wanted a picture of like the weather. I didn't know
you wanted a landmark there I did. This is the

(04:25):
least vacation picture I have ever seen in my life. Yeah,
you can see it at Dan Byer on Fox someone's backyard.

Speaker 5 (04:32):
It's like he was annoyed and was like, oh, I
have just took this picture. I'm just gonna go outside
click and walked right back in. That's what it seems like.

Speaker 3 (04:38):
Sam.

Speaker 1 (04:39):
I love this picture for so many reasons. Grass color,
the shed, the garage. Jason, you got this picture the
same time that I did, because we were on the
same group text.

Speaker 4 (04:51):
And for those that can't access Twitter right now, if
you're driving around, I don't know if you saw the movie.
It was called a Room by Bree Larson. She won
an Oscar for playing an abducted woman who was put
in the shed of a backyard in a Midwestern backyard.
And I think this is what Sam was sending us.
That shed that was her. Yeah, free Breeze, she was

(05:12):
in that shed.

Speaker 5 (05:13):
She was Yeah, Sam, it just looks like you were
annoyed and just stepped outside and took a picture.

Speaker 1 (05:18):
I can't I can't pick out if it's the shed
or if it's the turnover basketball hoop that doesn't have
enough water or blew over in the wind. Yeah, but
we just see the base and basically I would say
a seventy eight degree angle. Manzi has got it full screen,
Yeah on her.

Speaker 3 (05:35):
I just want to see up close.

Speaker 1 (05:37):
You could tell me this was Eastern Europe in nineteen
forty three, and I would say, yeah, okay.

Speaker 6 (05:44):
Sure, photo of history right there Belarus, since well that
Bellarius didn't exist back then.

Speaker 1 (05:51):
Hey, the Soviet Union somewhere. I also noticed that your
girlfriend wasn't in this picture right still have not seen her.

Speaker 7 (05:58):
By the way, for a peak behind the curtain. I
walked into this conversation midstream because I was heating up
my lunch, and when I saw Buyer tweet this, I
thought that didn't a few years ago, you visit the
scene from the movie.

Speaker 1 (06:13):
A Christmas Story, Yes, where the bandits were climbing over
the out of the house.

Speaker 8 (06:17):
That's what I thought it was.

Speaker 1 (06:19):
It was that this could be Cleveland. That's where they
filmed the Christmas Story. This could be Cleveland. Yeah, it
could be. Maybe people will let us know where they
think this is.

Speaker 6 (06:28):
But so you're saying that whoever owns this house uh
may need uh may need renovated.

Speaker 1 (06:36):
It looks like what am I saying.

Speaker 5 (06:38):
You're saying that when you ask, it's very generic. Correct,
It does not show that you were in Iowa. Like,
it does not show that at all. Literally, it's like,
where is this?

Speaker 6 (06:49):
Well, Okay, I thought Dan just wanted a snapshot of
like what the weather's like in March and Iowa because
it's very I was just talking to Doug about this.

Speaker 1 (06:56):
It's very muddy.

Speaker 5 (06:57):
It is, it's bleak, it's it can give me a
lot of work.

Speaker 6 (07:00):
This was a little bit of snow in the shadows
you could see, so that kind of gives you a
little little hint to with.

Speaker 1 (07:05):
This would look like my backyard in Wisconsin in March.
That's what it would look like. The hoop was bolted
to our garage, like to the top of the garage,
so it wouldn't have been tipped over. There's something to it.
If you could see there's a little dusting of snow
next to the garage that is there. But it's just
the point of you had twenty four hours and that's

(07:26):
where you're just like, well, I'm just gonna go out
into the backboard I and just grab a picture of
a shed with a fence.

Speaker 6 (07:32):
I was very the previous day when you texted me,
You're like show me Iowa. I was very tired of
taking a nap. I had a very early flight that morning,
so I slept through the text and it was already
dark when I woke up. And so the next day
I thought I'd make good and sent you a very
ambiguous picture of somewhere Midwest USA.

Speaker 1 (07:50):
Ryan bersching Er sweets in by the way, is going
to join the show. This is the picture your cousin
shows when he says this is where the above grown
pool is going to go. It's very Midwestern too, very
very accurate. Oh man, So check it out at Dan
Byer on Fox if you will. I I I just
got such a kick out of it.

Speaker 6 (08:11):
That's like your average I mean, it's a little small backyard,
but it's kind of like your average Midwest backyard.

Speaker 1 (08:16):
Absolutely, absolutely, one hundred percent. But I thought maybe maybe
even just you know, empty cornfield, you know, getting ready
for the for the upcoming season. Then it has to
make a trip for that.

Speaker 6 (08:28):
I have to make a trip to Carver, make a
trip to Kinnick and get a landmark in there, maybe
the Nile Kinnick.

Speaker 1 (08:34):
Statue. Outside of that, I would have been sufficient. Hey guys,
look back. I'm back home to work. Oh man, tell
us your thoughts get her at Monziy Belagas. You can
find me at Dan Byer on Fox, at Iowa Sam
ninety nine, at Jason Stewart, and at Isaac Glow and Kron.
You heard Isaac say it off the top, and I
mentioned it as well. Tiger Woods ruptured his left achilles

(08:55):
tendon and out for the When I say foreseeable future
or that can mean a lot of stuff, but here's
the deal. He's not going to be playing in any
golf tournaments this year. And now here's the question. Will
Tiger Woods be playing in golf tournaments again? Period? Yeah,
And Mancy, I feel like there's this portion of the

(09:17):
audience because I know that there's another side of it,
but one portion of the audience is saying, oh geez,
this is the end. This is absolutely this is the end.
And then I feel that there's this other side that
is not saying this is the end. They've said it's
been over for a while.

Speaker 3 (09:33):
It's been over. And then I think there's a small,
you know, samp.

Speaker 1 (09:36):
Pocket in a shed in a backyard.

Speaker 3 (09:38):
Iowa does exactly they're like, it's not over. It's Tiger.
He's going to get through this.

Speaker 1 (09:44):
When he wins. He wins the Master's at fifty one,
I want to remind you.

Speaker 3 (09:48):
That I said it.

Speaker 5 (09:49):
Yes, I will remind you that he wasn't ready to
hang it up. I feel like there's a small small
sample of people like that, and then yeah, I'm in.

Speaker 3 (09:58):
The sample where I'm like, oh man, it is over,
isn't it? Because I did not think it was over.
I really did it.

Speaker 5 (10:04):
And I don't know if it's because it's Tiger Woods
and he is greater than the sport of golf, you
know itself.

Speaker 3 (10:10):
For people you don't even have to be a golf fan,
you know who Tiger Woods is.

Speaker 5 (10:13):
And so I don't know if it's like part of
me always wanted to be like, no, he'll bounce back,
and he will end on his terms, not on terms
like injuries or the car accident.

Speaker 1 (10:23):
You know, I completely understand that, and I can empathize
with that feeling. When Tiger won the twenty nineteen Masters,
the topic of conversation was not now that he's got
to fifteen majors to try to catch Jack Nicholas as
eighteen there were people who are saying, all right, now
he's on to nineteen and not even talking about number sixteen, right,

(10:44):
not taking everything that had to go into play and
taking into account would allow him to just win one
more championship or one more major championship, so twenty nineteen.
And I felt this way. I actually felt the way
that it happened. This was Jack Nicholas's nineteen eighty sen Masters,
This was going to be the one off, This was
going to be his final, last hurrah. But there were

(11:06):
a lot of people, I'm not saying a majority, but
there were a lot of people, Manci, that were in
that small group that you talk about now, that felt
like this was going to be that was going to
be the start of a run for him. Now then
everything changed again with the car accident, with him almost
losing his right leg. And that's what's so damning in
the information that Tiger put out today is that he

(11:27):
popped his left achilles. And it shouldn't be surprising since
that leg probably takes on so much more of what
Tiger needs to do to get in shape. And in
his statement that he released, he said, as I began
to ramp up my own training, and practice at home.
I felt a sharp pain in my left achilles, which
was deemed to be ruptured. He had surgery and they

(11:48):
expect a full recovery. We've seen Tiger play on the TGL.
We have not seen them tee it up this year
and walk eighteen holes, let alone seventy two holes and
a major championship courch with absolutely no prep. That's how
far away it is. He can play simulator golf yep
and be fine, and even admitted that he was rusty.
But even as he started training and starting building up,

(12:08):
something catastrophic like this happens. He's gonna be fifty in March.
In December, excuse me, it's gonna be fifty in December.
And if you didn't believe it before, I think that
this is the final. This is the final one. There's
no way that you can really come back from this.
The point is, Manzi is it takes everything to get

(12:29):
back yep. And now he suffers the injury in training
and just trying to get ready for his first tournament,
let alone playing a bunch. If you don't believe it now,
I don't know what to tell you, but this syear
feels like the end.

Speaker 3 (12:42):
It really does, and I didn't believe it. I didn't
believe in the end.

Speaker 5 (12:44):
Yeah, I do believe it now, But just because I
believe it, I don't think Tiger believes it. I don't
think Tiger, at least, he's not gonna admit it. Like
I don't think he's gonna say, all right, I think
this is the end of my professional competitive golf career.
I don't see that happening. And I don't blame him,
like how this isn't how you want to go out,

(13:07):
so for him, I just I don't think he sees
it that way.

Speaker 1 (13:10):
Do you think that golf, because of the sport that
it is, would make Tiger Woods think that he can
do it. I've heard the story from Mark Schlereth a
couple of times where Shlerev talks about when he was
late in his career, he was watching film and noticed
somebody on film that was just awful and getting beat
by everybody. Then he realized that that was him. Yeah,

(13:31):
that he was the one that was getting beaten by everybody.
Said that's my time. You can play to your ninety
if you want to, But at the highest level, I
don't know if that comes into play in the competitive nature.
But football players kind of seem to know. Peyton Manning
couldn't throw the football ten yards it seemed like at
the end, so you know that the end is near.
I don't know Tiger may have that problem because of

(13:51):
the type of sport that golf is that doesn't necessarily
give you that answer.

Speaker 3 (13:56):
I don't know if it's that. I think it's just
he wasn't expecting to go out this way.

Speaker 5 (14:02):
Sure, and you could go back to, you know, the
car accident, it's not this moment. I think it's just
like everything that has happened, that's not how he was
expecting to go out, and I think it's hard for
him to get over that mental hurdle. I don't think
it's that he thinks if other NBA players, you know,
we've got pictures that have Tommy John late in their
career and then they come.

Speaker 3 (14:21):
Back and then they're successful again.

Speaker 5 (14:23):
I don't think it's that he thinks it's easier because
it's golf and he should be able to do it.

Speaker 3 (14:27):
I think it's just like, this is not the way
I was expecting to.

Speaker 1 (14:30):
Go out, Sure, And I'm not saying that it's easier.
What I'm saying is like in the NFL, you can
see when other guys are beating.

Speaker 5 (14:37):
You, right, because it's more physical, though it's more obvious
to the eye. Correct in this situation, like it's hard
to hit a damn golf ball and you really like
you see someone swing and it doesn't look like it
can't be that hard.

Speaker 3 (14:49):
It can't be that hard on your body.

Speaker 5 (14:50):
When you see a different sport where it's more physical
and there's more contact, right.

Speaker 3 (14:54):
Golf looks on it looks easy, but it's not correct.
It's not. It's very difficult to hit that's too.

Speaker 1 (15:00):
And to do everything that Tiger needed to do to
get ready. It is not easy on his body, which
has been through the ringer. The other point in this
is golf is a different game because of Tiger Woods.
And it's one of the things that I've pointed out
what I find so tricky with Tiger is if Tiger

(15:20):
didn't have the Tiger Woods effect, he was almost a
victim of it because of all the young people that
he inspired. So now golf has gotten incredibly younger.

Speaker 3 (15:30):
Yes, and popular and cool yes, cool, yep.

Speaker 1 (15:33):
And if you even look at the lifespan of current
PGA Tour pros forty is starting to be old because
of how far some of these kids can hit the ball.
And I say kids because they're in their twenties and thirties.
But when you get into forty, like the PGA, the
life of a PGA Tour player would go into the
forties and even into the early fifties to some players.

(15:53):
So that's why you thought, Hey, Tiger Wood's good. Phil
Michelson won the PGA Championship at you know, a month
shy of being fifty one in twenty twenty one. But
there's to go out and consistently do it. And now
to face the quality of young players when they're they're
making forty year olds extinct, let alone somebody who's about
to turn fifty in December. Yeah, that's tricky.

Speaker 3 (16:14):
I didn't even think of that.

Speaker 5 (16:15):
But if you're Tiger, do you still like do you
rather go out trying till the very end or do
you just go out now? I don't know what's better
for him.

Speaker 1 (16:27):
I think he wants to play in a tournament with his.

Speaker 3 (16:30):
Son, Okay, all right, little lebron Jaye.

Speaker 1 (16:32):
I think he would like to play in a Master's
with his son, Okay.

Speaker 3 (16:36):
So if he's not playing in this year's Masters.

Speaker 1 (16:38):
Yeah, correct, and his son's you know, still in high school.
But so like I think that Tiger will, I don't
know if you'll have a full schedule. I'm sure that
he hopes that he can. I think the TJL actually
has been successful. I think that will carry in the
next year as well. I know it got some rough
reviews early on, but I think overall it's been a
pretty good product. Maybe you focus on that. Think his

(17:00):
ultimate goal would be to play in the Master's if
his son was able to get to that level and
play in the Masters, which is a long way off,
but I think that would be his goal. And I
just don't know if keeping your body ready for that
point eight years down the line is that's sick.

Speaker 3 (17:15):
That's a ways a way.

Speaker 5 (17:16):
It is, okay, it is, and he could get probably
an invitation no matter what.

Speaker 1 (17:20):
Well he's he would go every year because you.

Speaker 3 (17:22):
Want it is okay, right, so he can go whenever
he wants.

Speaker 1 (17:25):
There's a point where they start cutting off the old
guys now that he used to let anybody play, and
I'm like, okay, move on. So guys are kind of
leaving in their in their late fifties and sixties, but
to give Tiger one go around if that were to happen.
And by the way, that's not a given. That's not
a given that Charlie Woods would be able to make
the PGA Tour. And you're just I would think that
that would be his ultimate goal with it, which would

(17:46):
be a reason and maybe want to keep in shape
and want to keep doing all of that stuff. But
it took him a lot. He would send a morning
tea time, he'd be up at three am to start
to get ready to see off at seven o'clock.

Speaker 5 (17:56):
But he could realistically still do that and not do
it in a compa way like he could participate.

Speaker 3 (18:02):
He could, you know, and just not be the Tiger
Woods that I guess most of us have hoped to
come back.

Speaker 1 (18:10):
It's getting fewer and fewer.

Speaker 3 (18:11):
It's just it's just like there have.

Speaker 1 (18:14):
Been more statements that he's announced from his Twitter handle
that he isn't playing than that he is.

Speaker 3 (18:19):
Mm hmm.

Speaker 1 (18:20):
That's so anytime it pops up, I'm like, is it
something about his gear or what happened? Now? And as
you heard Isaac say, we told you Tiger Woods ruptures
his achilles, wiping out his twenty twenty five season before
even teeing it up in an event this year, and
puts even into more question on how much more we
will see if Tiger Woods. I do I'll say this
final parting shot. I do think he wants to win

(18:41):
a US Senior Open. Okay, now the Senior Open fifty
and older, and that would add to his USGA when
the US Am obviously when the US Open, this would
be a Senior Open. I also think that he has
another maybe a mid Am to go along with that.
It's very inside golf, but I do think Kim playing
in the US Senior Open is something that he would

(19:02):
want to do so that could allow him to come
back and that's usually played in June, to try to
come back and be competitive again. But there's just no
way he's going to be competitive on the PGA Tour
or in the four majors that aren't you know that
are the Master's PGA US Opening.

Speaker 5 (19:19):
It seems that way just because of all the other
stuff that he's gone through. Yeah, there's no you're not
fully recovered from the car accident. You've shared that with us,
and now you're going through this.

Speaker 1 (19:28):
It's thanks.

It's all sponsored by Tractor Supply for life out here.
We know they have tractors in Iowa. You can see
the picture of Iowa that Iowa. Sam sent us as
he was vacationing again at Dan Byer on Fox. I
think Manzi's retweeted it Iowa. It could again Iowa. I
think it could take a variety of Eastern European countries.

(20:30):
I think that that could fit in.

Speaker 6 (20:32):
It definitely feels like you're living in eastern Europe. Sometimes
when you live in the Midwest in March.

Speaker 1 (20:36):
How about like Scotland, maybe even Scotland.

Speaker 6 (20:39):
It's the overcast sky that you pretty much experienced through
the entire month of March.

Speaker 1 (20:44):
We asked Iowa sam of a picture of Iowa. It
took him twenty four hours to produce what he produced
on social media, which is a picture with a scant
covering of snow, a shed and a tipped over basketball hoop.

Speaker 3 (20:57):
I mean, like, really, that could be la like that.

Speaker 6 (21:00):
It could be yeah, the middle of l a maybe
some cold temps and some rain.

Speaker 1 (21:04):
There would be a palm tree that is.

Speaker 3 (21:08):
Such a close The palm tree is just a little
off to the side. It could definitely be there. I
think it's so just not specific.

Speaker 7 (21:15):
Because Western Usa was that thing in the middle of
the yard, like a well or something that.

Speaker 1 (21:22):
Is that a well you don't let don't let the
kid go to you. That's like it's an Iowa fire pit.

Speaker 6 (21:28):
Yes it is. It's a it's a cinder black fire pit.
About as simple as it gets.

Speaker 3 (21:32):
Economically good, so good.

Speaker 6 (21:34):
But Isaac seems to think that we seem to think
that we have open wells still in the Midwest, like
we're living in the eighteen eighties.

Speaker 3 (21:41):
And I thought it was a well to Isaac.

Speaker 1 (21:43):
Is that where you draw your water from in Iowa?
This is it's And the great thing about it is
you could also see the neighbors shed. Yeah, there's two
sheds in this picture of sheds. Every back end it's
over basketball hoop because of the wind.

Speaker 6 (21:57):
And that's the extra garage to the right, Like that's
a two car garage, but there's another garage in front.

Speaker 1 (22:02):
That just shows you where we are Midwest. This is Iowa.
I'm getting some people say Wisconsin because I posted it. No,
that is Iowa. That is Iowa. I'll tell you where
it's not. It's Arizona. It is not Arizona. And our
producer Slash, what is your title, Ryan Berschinger or gotta said?
Producer Associate editor, Senior associate Sam Can you turn on

(22:27):
his mike? Do we know what mike he's on? That's
not as Mike? How about this? There we go. I'm
sorry you're on a seldom used mic. There my apologies.
There we go.

Speaker 2 (22:39):
Well, somebody's got to use it. Senior associate producer at
Fox Sports Radio thank you. You are getting married soon,
but you had the nice fortune.

Speaker 1 (22:48):
I knew this. You were doing a spring training bachelor party,
something you've talked with Camino and rich about as well. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (22:55):
Yeah, It's something that I've wanted to do for years.
It's an idea I came up with a long time
ago because I've always wanted to go to Spring Training.
I've never been, and I figured like, all right, what's
a what's a better way to have an excuse to
go to spring Training? Especially in a town like Scottsdale,
which is a very active town, a lot of different
things to do, and quite frankly, you know, if I'm

(23:18):
going to try to get my fiance, my bride to be,
to go on a weekend trip with me, it's hard
to sell spring training as an option. There's a lot
of places that she would rather go, so I might
as well take advantage of it and use that as
my bachelor.

Speaker 1 (23:34):
I think it's I think it's a really smart move.
I don't think you're the first one to do it,
but I'm glad that you did it. Now. My question
to you, obviously, you and Monty and Bo Bentson do
the Dodgers podcast on the Sick Podcast Network. You're a
Dodgers fan, did you go strictly all Dodger games or
did you sprinkle in other games in the Cactus League
to go and check it out?

Speaker 2 (23:55):
We went to two games. We originally were going to
see the Rangers and Rockies on Friday night, but ironically enough,
that game was rained out, as every other game in
the Cactus League was on Friday, which is funny because
that's all the whole point of spring training being in
Phoenix and in Florida is because the weather doesn't typically
disrupt it.

Speaker 1 (24:15):
Yeah. Yeahs have played it in a backyard and Iowa exactly.
So we did not get to go to that. We went.

Speaker 2 (24:23):
We saw the Dodgers on Saturday play the White Sox.
They shared their facility with the White Sox. It was
technically a White Sox home game, but a very large
Dodger crowd there. And then on Sunday we watched the
Angels and Reds nice.

Speaker 3 (24:35):
Yes, do you see Elie Dela Cruz?

Speaker 1 (24:38):
No, he did not play. He did not play. Mike
Trout played.

Speaker 3 (24:41):
Okay?

Speaker 1 (24:43):
Was that in Tempe at the Angels home size? Okay, Yes,
I've been to a spring training game.

Speaker 4 (24:48):
There.

Speaker 7 (24:49):
I have a suggestion, can you retroactively since this has
apparently already happened?

Speaker 4 (24:54):
Correct?

Speaker 1 (24:55):
Yes, Instead of.

Speaker 7 (24:57):
Referring to it as a bachelor party, how about you
referred to it as a Burschelar party.

Speaker 1 (25:03):
Very good? Yeah? Who is the best man?

Speaker 2 (25:08):
Who didn't think of that? My buddy Sky? Well, we'll
have to we'll have to do it again. We'll just
have to do it again. Yeah, I guess what's his name?

Speaker 1 (25:16):
Sky? Sky? Young?

Speaker 2 (25:17):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (25:17):
Sky?

Speaker 4 (25:17):
Okay? Sky. So this is kind of where I come
in on this. I so baseball, lots of beer. I'm
guessing there's some misbehaving, not by you, but maybe by
other dudes. Sounds like a like a trip that I
would love to have been included on. Just wondering what
did Sky just not have my number? Were you unable

(25:40):
to get my information to Sky to include me in
this weekend?

Speaker 1 (25:44):
Uh? You know?

Speaker 2 (25:45):
Yeah, I sent him my full contact list, and uh,
I guess he just kind of kind of drew some names.

Speaker 1 (25:50):
Out of a hat. Listen. I know it sounds like
he's joking, but the guy does love a nice beer,
he does, and he does love baseball. He's a Dodger fan.
You guys talk dodgers. How close was he to the
cutoff of making it or in this case, not making
it to your spring training bachelor party? You know, was

(26:13):
he even getting consideration that maybe I could ask Jason Stewart,
But then you'll be like, now we want to keep
it to like ten or twelve? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (26:22):
Yeah, listen, we had we had eight people, and and
and we were still a bed short in the airbnb,
so out of out of eight, so it was it
was a packed but it was a great airbn.

Speaker 4 (26:33):
No, you're right, they don't have blow up beds. I
couldn't have brought my owner in the car. Now here's
my issue. Ryan and his beautiful fiance Audrey. They take
up pretty like valuable real estate in my home. In
my home, when visitors come over, they go to the
refrigerator to grab a drink or something, they see a
picture of Ryan and Audrey embracing with a save to

(26:57):
save the date, right, And I'm thinking, at the very least,
if I'm going to take up that kind of real
estate in my home, I could have been included in
the bachelor party. But that's fine, or the Burschinger party.

Speaker 7 (27:11):
It Burchelar party.

Speaker 4 (27:12):
Birchelor party. Yeah, who else did you invite from work?

Speaker 1 (27:16):
Not met a baseball podcast together?

Speaker 8 (27:20):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (27:20):
I told him. I was like, why was I not invited?
I said it to his face, though I didn't put
him on the radio, and I just said it in
front of bow. I was like, why am I not
invited to much? I feel like I would fit perfectly
in on this broadcast.

Speaker 1 (27:32):
Episode should be about this trip. It should ye, it
will just sits there and I just.

Speaker 5 (27:37):
Sit there and not have any opinion because I wasn't there.

Speaker 3 (27:41):
Thank you.

Speaker 1 (27:42):
Bo Benson was there.

Speaker 3 (27:44):
Yeah, yeah, that's what makes it worse, saying yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1 (27:47):
He was. Yeah, that's baseball. You guys are boys. You
stood up in his wedding, right, I was.

Speaker 2 (27:52):
I was actually an alternate groovesman. Okay, yeah, so I
wasn't neat. You're on the forty man roster, yeah, twenty
five the squad. Yes, yes, I wasn't at the wedding,
so it was obviously just a wild shot in the dark.
So you get off my back for this. I'll say this.
I didn't have like a true bachelor part.

Speaker 1 (28:10):
I got married when I was forty, But what I
did do with a couple of buddies.

Speaker 5 (28:14):
We went on a golf trip to that's your bachelor party.

Speaker 1 (28:17):
That ended up for you, Yes, it ended up like
being that part. Now we weren't any wild and crazy guys.
But the key is, and this is why I think
spring training is important, is to do the fun stuff
in the morning or the afternoon, so then you could
do the real fun stuff at night.

Speaker 2 (28:35):
Yeah, and that that's that did work out that way.
Of course we were going to go to that Friday
night game, but it was rained out instead.

Speaker 1 (28:41):
Our plan was still too and you made it rain
somewhere else right on Friday night.

Speaker 2 (28:45):
Yes, there it is, Dan, I I know you would
appreciate it.

Speaker 1 (28:49):
Though.

Speaker 2 (28:49):
We went on Friday night to Popstroke in Scottsdale. You
know Pop Stroke, Yes, yes, it is h It's but
I know, yeah Tiger it's Tiger's a mini golf courses
and it's like it's an elaborate mini golf course. It
looks like a legit eighteen whole course that's shrunk down
and it's designed to have drinks and and eat and
and have a good time playing mini golf. Of course,

(29:12):
that was the Friday night of the bachelor party. I
I you know I had been partaking throughout the day.

Speaker 1 (29:18):
Sure, and then we get.

Speaker 2 (29:19):
To this this golf course where there are spots to
put your cups on every single hole, so uh enjoying
that as well. And I will say the the one
sort of odd.

Speaker 1 (29:29):
I'm talking about pop stroke here people tuning in just now,
he's talking about playing a post in the Greater Phoenix area.

Speaker 2 (29:37):
Uh, I, I will say, the the odd design flaw.
Maybe it's not a flaw. Maybe they do it on purpose.
They they encourage you to drink a plenty on this
mini golf course. It is very hilly, you know. It
is like there's a lot of a lot of bumps
and and and and real bunkers and things like that.
And I I I felt quite a few.

Speaker 1 (29:59):
Yeah, that's fun because I never thought of that. I
had never don't I don't drink alcohol, but I so
I never thought of it, like, oh great, yeah to that.
You don't want to be tripping over things on whole
fifteen and then hitting your head on a rock.

Speaker 2 (30:13):
Yes, when I woke up the next morning, I genuinely
thought my foot was broken. My right foot was in
severe pain. But I had a blast. It was a
great time. And I'm sorry to my brother because I
choked away our lead on the last hole. I proceeded
to five put the last hole, which you know kind
of makes sense given the way I was handling the

(30:33):
entire course.

Speaker 3 (30:34):
That's agree.

Speaker 1 (30:35):
Yes, that's a good sports bachelor party weekend. Yes, like
I think it works with golf. I don't know if
you're a hoops fan, like what you would do? Maybe
maybe next week, maybe NCUAA tournament. That's what I used
to do in high school. My buddies, we would go
to the first and second rounds of the nc double
A tournament. If you're a baseball fan, what better way
to do it?

Speaker 2 (30:55):
Yeah, and be in Phoenix when it doesn't rain. Next
time for the Burschlar party, we'll go in it does.

Speaker 1 (31:01):
All right, Ryan Burschinger, congratulations again in the upcoming nuptials,
and uh any apologies to Jason.

Speaker 4 (31:08):
Stewart on his I would I would like to say
next time, but that would be that would just be
bad watching. There's no next time.

Speaker 1 (31:16):
Part is that the last time you're going to go
to a strip club this past weekend? Just want to
make it clear I didn't.

Speaker 6 (31:25):
In case she's listening, we did not do that.

Speaker 1 (31:29):
No one came to us either, not according to Ryan,
according to make it clear. All right, thanks burs you
appreciate it.

Speaker 1 (32:04):
It's communo to Rich here on Fox Sports Radio. Gez Monzi,
I'm Dan byer in for the guys. I'll tell you
what I think the guys would be proud of us.
We've talked baseball, bachelor parties, a random backyard in Iowa.
Now we're getting to Daniel Jones and signing with the
Indianapolis Colts.

Speaker 3 (32:24):
They would be very proud of us. Also, what did
I miss there? What are you laughing about? What did
I did I miss?

Speaker 1 (32:28):
Iowa Sam? I I laughed because I didn't understand a word.

Speaker 6 (32:32):
What that was? I some of that crump. That's just
Bursagar at his best right there. That's just a little
drop from Super Bowl week. Jason Stewart knows this as well.

Speaker 1 (32:44):
Iowa Sam's got to be on point because Prefet was
on fire yesterday he was in your absence, right Jason,
Like you know, like Iowa Sam's like I got to
bring it today because prefet was on fire.

Speaker 4 (32:55):
There was this time and this is true. You can
go back and listen Sam, and I know you will.
Where he came right on that came back with a
who bump and then he also over the who saying
what is it? Don't you can George Bush? George Bush
over the bump. It was like at next level stuff
like stuff that beyond the call of duty and we

(33:16):
we and Dan Bosa nobody would have thought of that
or done that.

Speaker 1 (33:20):
It sounds like stuff that I do pretty regularly. But
that's just me. But good, good for it, glad. He's
a good show with him with him at the him. Yes, yes,
And you got another hour and ten minutes to peacock
for us here on Fox Sports Radio. Get him at
Iowa Sam ninety nine. Do you want to let you
know that you're listening to us now? But did you

access to our Fox Sports Radio videos on YouTube. I
hope they do a whole video on this backyard in Iowa.
I really hope. So. Because we are getting I'm going
to next hour coming up in ten minutes or so,

(34:06):
We're going to redown some of the guests read off
some of the guesses that people have submitted here. Some
day when we asked Iowa Sam for a picture of Iowa,
and when he went back home and he again took
a picture of a backyard. Could be Texas, could be
with a shed, Serbia, There's no way this is Texas.
This is EXAs.

Speaker 6 (34:24):
Texas has the brown grass some great, it's flat, there's trees.

Speaker 1 (34:29):
They don't have a sprinkling of snow by the garage foundation.
They can get snow every once in a while. But yeah,
you can get snow into You can get snow in Indianapolis.
Now also can get a quarterback controversy. Yep, Daniel Jones
signing with the Indianapolis Colts on a one year deal
fourteen million dollars could be worth up to seventeen point
seven million dollars in Monci. Chris Ballard the Colts GM

(34:50):
making good on his promise to give Anthony Richardson competition,
saying Richardson was not handled the starting gig. Now Daniel
Jones comes in. I actually think it's the first legitimate
competition for Anthony Richardson, even more so than Joe Flacco
and Gardner Minshew. But in the end, to Anthony Richardson,
if you want to save your career, all you got

(35:13):
to do is beat out Daniel Jones. That's the task
at hand.

Speaker 5 (35:16):
That's literally the story here is going to be who
doesn't get the starting job.

Speaker 3 (35:21):
That's going to be the story.

Speaker 5 (35:23):
Because if Anthony Richardson does not get the starting job, wow,
you there's a lot, a lot that's going.

Speaker 3 (35:28):
To be talked about.

Speaker 5 (35:29):
And if Daniel Jones doesn't win the starting job over
Anthony Richardson, that's going to be a big topic of conversation.

Speaker 1 (35:36):
Great, great point, especially because the the bloom is off
of Anthony richards Oh. Yes, those two years, the injuries
that he's had to deal with, the roller coaster play,
and it's been mostly dips than it has been highs.
When he's actually been on the field. I think it's

(35:57):
a magnificent point and as well for Daniel Jones to
go and spend that time in Minnesota, and obviously he
gets fourteen million dollars from the Colts again with incentives
possibly pushing it to even more, something that maybe Minnesota
ended up not wanting to do and bringing him back.
But there's kind of his restart. There's kind of his
reset button, similar to what Mitch Trubisky had in Buffalo

(36:19):
and then the Steelers brought him in and there was
no change, and now Mitchell Trubisky is just going to
be career backup. Sam Darnold got the reset with the
San Francisco forty nine ers and it paid dividends for him.
Great great place to be in in San Francisco and
then to go to Minnesota with Kevin O'Connell. But I'll
tell you what, Shane Steichen and the Colts have a

(36:39):
lot to play for. So it's it would behoove Shane
Stikeen to make this work with either quarterback. So I
think Daniel Jones is just as good of an opportunity
as you're being coached by another offensive mind.

Speaker 5 (36:50):
Now, yeah, I'm with you, and obviously I think the
pressure is on Anthony Richardson and right, and you can't.
You better beat out Daniel Jones because you've been there
and they want you to succeed. But yeah, last year
there was so much expectation and he definitely did not
live up to it.

Speaker 1 (37:06):
There are not There aren't a lot of quarterback battles
anymore in the National Football League. Baker Mayfield won his
with Kyle Trask and it's proved dividends for the Buccaneers.
We'll see what happens in Indianapolis, as it could be
the last draw for a lot of people at the
quarterback position doesn't work out. She's Monty Bologno's I'm Dan Byer.
We're in for Cavino and rich here on Fox Sports Radio,
Finder at Monte Bolognos. You can find me at Dan
