(01:28):
hour and yesterday's over promised. It was fantastic. We played
a very fun game. Can you name that baby? Star? Star?
So bad at this Monzi, but it was the NFL
Playoff Edition Stars. I'm so bad. Manzi is with us today.

Speaker 2 (01:46):
Yay, happy to be here.

Speaker 1 (01:48):
Guys, you show a baby picture of a celebrity or athlete.
I'm terrible, by the way, terrible, And he says baby picture.
There was like one baby. Everyone else is like a
teenage Oh we're talking, okay, that's yeah, just like before
they were. I can't put a baby to a face.
Why were Stars NFL Playoff Edition? We did it on
over promised? Rich is terrible. I'm so bad that Cavino's like,

(02:08):
guess this one. I'm like, I don't know. Matthew Stafford,
He's like, that's Josh Allen, Ben at worse, He's like,
that's Lamar Jackson. Rich has no idea play along at home?
So bad. Fox Sports Radio's YouTube page over promised it's
our bonus show. You could watch it, you could listen,
and we also paid homage to the legend Bob Uker.

(02:29):
So join us there, and thank you for joining us here.
We have lots to get to little time. Danny G.
The most buttery producer in all the land, the smoothest voice.

Speaker 3 (02:39):
Yo yo happy. Divisional round playoff weekend.

Speaker 1 (02:42):
Many say, the best week in of football every year.
Many say Danny G has the greatest voice to crack
the mics here in these studios, after Casey Kasem and
of course Iowa Sam. Hello, everybody, what rumor are we
starting that? I Sam was once a child star? Yeah,
he used to be cousin Oliver pretty much. Yeah, I

(03:05):
believe I was in the goonies. Yeah. And of course
Monzi's got your updates, but she's hanging out with us
and Rich. I got to start it off by saying, yeah,
I want to talk about your boy Pete Alonzo because
I think your Mets are blowing it. But another baseball
news sho hey o Tani apparently donated five hundred thousand
dollars to the LA wildfire relief. Now I have to

(03:30):
make it very clear. I'm never the guy that wants
to spend other people's money or that's telling people what
they should do with their money. I don't like that
and rubs me the wrong way. It's like, well, what
did you do? Are you donating anything? But when you're
making almost a billion dollars probably more when all said
and done, playing baseball in Los Angeles, and you want

(03:53):
fans to embrace you, and you just won a World Series,
you'll think for optic reasons, as the millennials say, the
we neils, aesthetic reasons, aesthetics. He couldn't have just made
it a million dollars five hundred thousand. I don't know
how did his parlays do last weekend? Now you got
exactly funny. I mean, you got Beyonce, you got Taylor

(04:15):
Swift dropping big money people donating. It's better than nothing,
and it is very generous. So I'm not talking out
of both sides of my mouth. But what I am
saying is a million would have sounded a hell of
a lot better coming from the highest paid dude in
baseball in sports, in sports, Shohil Tani. Let me tell you.

(04:36):
Am I wrong for saying that? Because that is the
vibe a little bit. I'll tell you. B'll tell you
why because I wrote to you on our show notes today.
I texted, you know, first thing in the morning.

Speaker 2 (04:45):
That's precious.

Speaker 1 (04:47):
After I wrote good morning, sweetheart, Yeah, good morning beautiful,
I said, it's weird. It's weird that he texted me
when all he has to do is is shake my show. Yeah,
roll over, you know, yeah? Uh, I wrote to Como
this morning after good morning dumpling buns. Fans are dumb,

(05:10):
They're mad he only donated five hundred thousand. I know,
I know that sounds mock me. What do we do
as a show. We donated a couple hundred dollars to
a couple of places that meant something to us, and
you know, donate a couple bucks if you can. This
guy donated a half a million dollars. J O's are
like ole troop skate get oddy. What is that? Do
the math though? What's a half a million for a

(05:30):
guy that's making about a billion? You didn't read the
whole story though, I never do.

Speaker 3 (05:34):
Danny Show don't be surprised show hey deferred two million
dollars of the donation.

Speaker 1 (05:43):
Eighth Honestly, they'll need it still. Then not everything is
needed up front. That's funny, you know it's uh so again,
I know how it sounds, and I don't want to
be I don't want to be that jerk on social
media that piles on when that guy's done nothing to
help anybody. Sure again, you know, spending other people's money.
I don't want to be that guy. But it does

(06:05):
look a little lame when everybody knows the type of
money you're making. Come on, he couldn't have coughed up
a million dollars. A million dollars to him is not
that much for the city he plays for. I get
it because he represents Los Angeles. Of all the teams
in all the land he could have played for, he
chose the Dodgers, formerly of the Angels, right down the highway.

(06:29):
He's I think generous are doing? Had all set and done.
Spencer Pratt is going to be given back more than
sho hal Tani is Los Angeles. How does that make sense?
Think about it. A reality TV star will probably be
end up giving more to La than Shoetani, who's making
a billion out I did. I did the math, okay,

(06:51):
because it's a game of the math. It's a game
of percentages and like decimal points, and that's really difficult
to figure out in my brain. But this would be like,
let's say you made an even number one hundre one
thousand dollars, okay, which is like pretty good salary. But
if you made one hundred thousand dollars, this would be
the equivalent of you donating donating fifty dollars to the
city of Los Angeles, which is generous for someone that
makes one hundred thousand dollars, I think, so think about

(07:14):
it that way. But this is a guy that makes
almost a billion fifty dollars, so it is kind of weak.
But think about it. You would you look if five
hundred thousand dollars to us is a lot of money
to him, it's not. And that's how you have to
view it. So I understand how it appears for people
to be like, man, that's all, but it really is
kind of weak.

Speaker 4 (07:34):
You could put about everybody else that plays in La
Sorry Spot a follow like Lebron James. I just wanted
to double check that I didn't miss anything. I'm like,
did Lebron James donate anything? No, not that we know of.

Speaker 1 (07:46):
You know what, shame on him if he hasn't. But
guys like Lebron, guys like Show Hey, Premiere, prominent dudes
that run this city should lead by example in that way.
You know, you can't just take take take from the
city and not give back. We did a story recently
where the city of Los Angeles, who put on or
who had to support the parade to celebrate the Dodgers

(08:07):
World Series championship, spent two million dollars on just first
responding personnel, police and fire to support the parade. Two
million dollars on this parade. So now it's time to
give back to the city.

Speaker 4 (08:20):
Don't they give back to the city by having a
team here that makes money and win.

Speaker 1 (08:25):
Nobody listen. Also, the team paid back that two million times.
I know they listen. I'm on, I'm on, uh not
Kadinos team, Sorry, dumpling Buns, Dan Byron, you're going to
sleep on the couch. Let me let me tell you this.
I You're gonna have to cook your own dinner tonight.
I'm telling you MONSI said it and I was about

(08:45):
to get there until I see every prominent celebrity, athlete,
social media influencer emptying their pockets. Why why you gotta
be a follower, lead by example? But what you can't say, oh, Tawani,
only don't half a million dollars? Until I see Clayton Kershaw,
Matthew Stafford, none of them amount of money? That why Leonard? Yeah,

(09:07):
but even if they donated a couple hundred thousand dollars,
I think they should anything, I do think they should.
And what did you always what do we always joke about?
When I rebuilt my house here a couple of years ago,
should have made it a smart home like Spot? Absolutely,
Spot was the best manzie at spending my money. I
love doing it. I you know what I would have done.
I would have opened up that wall and uh, you know,

(09:29):
done those sliding huge doors. I'm like, yes, but that
would have been an extra one hundred thousand dollars. Well,
I also would have It's easy to spend other people's money. Yeah,
has a good taste, though. I do think Shoheo Tani
has all these sponsorships from not only here in the States,
but overseas in Japan. Every I was in Japan. His
face was everywhere in certain cities. You don't think he

(09:52):
could have had someone else match his five hundred thousand
dollars to make it a million, to set the precedents,
to make an impact, to do something right. Look, dude,
I think it's generous, I really do. But I also
think it would have looked a hell of a lot
better if it was a million. That's all I'm saying,
And that is part of the story today. He donated
five hundred thousand dollars to La wildfire Relief. That's nice.

(10:13):
It would have been nice if he doubled that.

Speaker 4 (10:14):
I don't even know if that's true, Cavino, he would
have donated a million, and you would have sat here
and you would have been like, only a million.

Speaker 1 (10:20):
You have a five hundred thousand kind of guys, Guys, listen,
Beyonce's foundation gave two and a half million, just saying yeah,
just saying two and a half million. Bay founda And
you know what, And you're all hypocrites. Everybody pretend that
if you're not going to a wedding, you're not trying
to match everybody else. If Beyonce gave two point five

(10:42):
of course, we're gonna compare it to show. Hey, show
he's a billionaire. He only gave five hundred thousand rich
at your wedding. You are saying, man, Covino only gave
me this, and this guy gave me that. People always compare, Hey,
we're going to a party, would you give him? That's
just how it works. So we're gonna speculate on what
show he did. That's what people do.

Speaker 2 (11:00):
That is what people do. I just think people are
never satisfied.

Speaker 1 (11:03):
They're not and the expectation.

Speaker 2 (11:04):
Of Otani is always just going to be never satisfied.

Speaker 4 (11:07):
And I'm just like, are we holding this the accountable
for everybody in LA He's still I think he's.

Speaker 1 (11:13):
A chief case. He can't call some skate. You can't
call them to chief skate when they just donated half
a million dollars to anything. We just broke down how
little that is in the grand scheme of his income.

Speaker 2 (11:24):
But he doesn't have that income for another ten years.

Speaker 1 (11:27):
You know how many sponsorships, Like I said, let's hear it, spot,
I was going to say, fellow Dodger Freddie Freeman donated
one hundred thousand dollars as well as his wife donating
an additional one hundred thousand.

Speaker 4 (11:36):
Dollars, like separately, separately, that's weird, different accounts, Maybe more
questions about this.

Speaker 1 (11:41):
Maybe it's a tax thing. Who knows, but several yeah,
like Leo DiCaprio a million dollars, j Lo donated, Like
all of these people have donated or have encouraged people
to donate under like some sort of fun that they've created. Listen,
So everyone's doing something, doing the right thing should never
be criticized. Taylor Swift ten ten millions. I get it.

(12:03):
Maybe compared to all right, let's you know, I'm gonna
bring this into it culturally, for all we know in
Japan when disasters happened, maybe maybe there's a different take
on it. Maybe he felt like, for all you know,
show he woke up and he's like five hundred thousand
dollars they get there's an old Japanese saying that it's
it's not about the money, it's about what he maybe is, uh,

(12:26):
you know, in person and his presence moving forward, he'll
be there to help. Maybe there's a maybe there's a reason,
like a cultural reason, like you said, trying to think
of things, or maybe he's just tapped out from donating
to all the Godzilla disaster relief No Japanese.

Speaker 2 (12:46):
I was waiting for a drop.

Speaker 1 (12:49):
But it's like stereo goes on in Japan.

Speaker 3 (12:55):
We don't have a cpu voice that says stereotypical.

Speaker 1 (12:58):
That's what we need. If I'm trying to backpeddle, I'm
leading into it. Hey I was. I stayed at the
Godzilla Hotel. They embraced it. It's true anyway, So Tani,
it's a story today. Judge for yourself your thoughts at
Covin and Rich. But here's the thing. You could you
could have an opinion and you could have a thought
on it without really being judging. I'm not judging him,

(13:21):
but I I you can't help but speculate, that's all.
I'm just speculating. I'm not judging case. You're looking in
the collection basket. What you're doing, you're looking at the
guy excuse putting who's putting what in the collection basket?
At church? I mean because we have brains, right, That's
why you're not gonna scratch. You're not gonna be like
five hundred thousand huh, really, you know what five hundred
thousand dollars buys you in l a a bunch of nothing.

(13:46):
And also, by the way, the only right I'll back
up Comino in this one regard, I was you a
cameo from shack I just want to wish your today.
Hey wait, recover birthday from shackment dollars give me money.
I think you have to remember that LA is expensive
to own a home in LA minimum million dollars, minimum

(14:09):
minimum minimum million bucks. So maybe perspective wise, if you're
in uh, you know, Idaho or Iowa or you know,
and over ten thousand houses were burnt down in one city.
I know you don't know the difference between Idaho and Iowa.
That's why you just set them together. You were like Idaho,
I know Iowa Idaho. Idaho is closer and potatoes. You

(14:30):
just have a potato in your pants, all right? Thank you?
So your thoughts on Otani cheapskate, super generous. I think
everyone's going to be judging. I think the reality of
it is anyone that trust to donate and do a
good deed. It's like I always felt this way when
people would criticize, like the Kardashians and certain people like
you know, they do more good. You may roll your eyes.

(14:51):
But there's very eye rolling people that still do charitable
good things. And I find it hard to mock someone
that took five hundred thousand dollars a bare It's called
max right off. Eh, that's what people will say. Well, anyway,
we'll get to that. Pete Alonzo, my dude's in the news.
Well not really my dude anymore, it seems. So what's

(15:13):
the story with Pete Alonzo? Plus more importantly, divisional rounds?
I got five on it. We got five on We
did it last week where we put five bucks each
on our parlay picks. That's right, I venmoted him my
five bucks. Now last week after the first game, all

(15:34):
of us are out except Daddy. The other five games
we were just watching, so could any of us in
the room and one special lucky listener At eight seven
to seven nine nine on Fox, we'll pick all four
games against the spread. Four for four is a doable parlay.
So we got five on it. We'll make our picks
and explain next right here on Fox Sports Radio eight
seven seven ninety nine on Fox. Get in on it now.

(17:00):
the record, if he's an essential billionaire, this equivalent of
fifty dollars. It does to keep the math if you
made one hundred thousand dollars, just to keep the math simple.

If you want to get in on that and weekend hobnobbing,
what you need to watch this weekend. But let me

(17:42):
make one last point about the show. Heal tany controversy. Okay, yes,
something's better than nothing. But I'm also discussing this because
it is a story today. There's a lot of speculation
on whether or not he's a cheap skate for only
don't only donating five hundred thousand dollars yourself. He just
signed a seven hundred million dollar contract. I get it,

(18:02):
it's deferred, but he has all these other endorsements and
everything else going on. It looks a little weak. It does.
It's more than I've done, so again, call me a hypocrite.
I don't care, but I don't make what he makes.
But just to avoid people from talking about it, I
think it was a bad move. You know how people are,
You know what the story is gonna be to not

(18:24):
have the foresight and wherewithal to say, I'm almost a billionaire.
I'm gonna give five hundred thousand dollars. I play in
this city. It's my city. There's other people from other
cities giving more than I'm giving. People are gonna have
something to say. Let me just round it up to
a million, and then you can say what mine said before. Well,
people are still gonna have something to say. I have
an argument on both sides. To wrap it up. The
guy to the right of who bearded bonehead, spot hey,

(18:46):
spot present. He was calculating as if Otani was just
given seven hundred and seventy million dollars cash money like
just right into his checking account, straight cash, straight cash.
Homie is not what it is. So it's not as
much as you think. But there is something about reading
the room and I'll give this guy to the right
of meet credit Steve Cavino when you go to a wedding.

(19:08):
He's right, we'll ask each other because Cavino and I
people always consider we're in the same tax bracket. We
work together. Yeah, we're going to the way. What are
you given two hundred five hundred? What are you giving? Yeah,
let's not pretend we don't know how people act. So
if I'm asking Covino, what are you giving for two
hundred five hundred four hundred. If we're discussing that, if
he sees Beyonce given two and a half million, if

(19:29):
he sees other celebrities given a million, he should have,
then saya La Beyonce's a Texas girl. You know what
I mean?

Speaker 3 (19:38):
They're saying to Hixes. Right, hey, guys, really quick. Bud
in Austin couldn't stay on the line. But he's trucking
outside of Austin right now in a big rig pear
down big rigs to let you guys know that he
just read these numbers. In La County there are forty
three billionaires and two hundred and thirteen thousand millionaires.

Speaker 2 (19:58):
That's disgusting.

Speaker 1 (20:03):
Ten million people in County ten a million people in
LA and a few after our next cut, and you're listening,
here's a rich here's something to support you. Actually, yeah,
I guesslet's support too. Mark Zuckerberg. We all know Mark Zuckerberg,
founder of Meta, Facebook, whatever his I just had to
look up his net worth two hundred and thirteen billion dollars.

(20:24):
He only donated two million of his personal money to
the wildfire relief Deserves and then Meta a miser, which
is worth god knows how many billions. Meta also donated
two million dollars to various charities. I mean, it's still millions,
but I know it's spot saying, well, you ever see
those calculations on Instagram or Facebook or remember TikTok that

(20:47):
apple used to be around. Yeah, remember TikTok.

Speaker 2 (20:49):
I think it's still around for a second, for two
more days.

Speaker 1 (20:52):
Yeah. You know when they would say, like, here's a million,
the difference between a million and a billion, Zuckerberg should
honestly be donating like one hundred million dollars. What was
it again? A million is eleven days and a billion
is thirty one years. Yes, ridiculous. It was like Rogan's
show had that. Yeah, that was amazing. Blew my mind.
So it's time we got five on it. You ready

(21:13):
ruin some money? Yes, let's do this and I'm gonna donate. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (21:17):
Starting starting last week, all of us on the show
are picking each NFL playoff game this postseason.

Speaker 1 (21:24):
Wait, if you get your four to four, you're gonna
donate it. Yep, I'll donate it. I'll say it. It's
my city. There we go, and I'm a thousand.

Speaker 3 (21:29):
Ere We are including one ceing our listener each week
this weekend, John West, Palm Beach, We're gonna be looking
at your picks as well. Welcome to the show.

Speaker 1 (21:38):
What's up, John, Here's what we did. We go around
the room, we go over each game, make a little chart.
You pick all four games against the spread. Last week
six for six. I didn't anticipate anyone hitting all six,
but when I tell you, five out of us were
out after game one because we all picked the Chargers.
So we do a little better this week. We try

(22:00):
make it a little exciting. Yeah, thank you Texans. All right,
let's go to the first game. Divisional Weekend kicks off
Saturday with the Texans at the Chiefs. They've been rested,
but how restled is he's a new dad. Patrick Mahomes
might be having those late nights that Danny knows about
babies crying little Golden you know, Golden Ray. What's the

(22:22):
line right now? We got Chiefs by eight and Danny
g I'll start with you, my man. What do you
think Chiefs by eight this Saturday?

Speaker 3 (22:30):
The Chiefs against the spread in twenty twenty four are
seven to nine and one. They do not do well
against the spread. And besides that, I picked the Texans
and won with them last weekend, so I'm gonna go Houston.

Speaker 1 (22:42):
That's too many points, Houston, Steve Cavino, I'm going Chiefs
on this well when they oh, hey, chief to five
the odds and this is when they play big and
they score a lot of points and put the Texans
in their place. Chief Kraka number one, Chief Raka. Oh.
I was so torn going back and forth on this
game because there's a part of me that, you know,

(23:03):
I feel like I over used the phrase back door cover,
but I just feel like, where do you overuse it
in the bedroom. I just feel like this reeks of
a game that's you know, twenty to seven Chiefs and
last minute as a BS touchdown by Houston. You said
that about the Buffalo Bill's Denver game and it didn't
turn out that way. I didn't, so you know what,

(23:24):
they smoked him. I'm gonna go Kavino. My instinct originally
was I'm loving CJ. Stroud, but that's my heart, Travis Mahomes.
They got something to prove, Andy Reid. This is the playoffs. Playoffs,
yeah they make this is when they step up, they
may kill the Texans. So I'm going Chiefs. And you
say that Mahomes is tired, I honestly think like he's
rejuvenated and excited about being a dad again. He's like,

(23:45):
I did it for Golden Mahomes did it for my daughter.
Yeah I have He's all excited again, and I think
he has baby puke on him right now. The reality
is playoffs. When you have a newborn, sometimes you want
to get out of the house. Yes, Manzie, what do
you think, buddy?

Speaker 4 (23:59):
This game is tough because both of you said stuff
that I also feel. But at the same time, Danny
g like, the Chiefs have been the Chiefs this year,
and it hasn't been the best Chiefs team, barely winning
games literally doinking off of, you know, the field goal
against the Chargers.

Speaker 2 (24:19):
Thank you so much, donk you very much? Do you
very much. I'm gonna take the Texans to call. I'm
going to take the Texans to cover.

Speaker 1 (24:29):
Chiefs win, Texans cover, Samuel gotta stay consistent here. I
picked this same outcome on the Doug Gottlieb Show previously
before C and R. I will take the Chiefs to
win with the Texans plus the points Texans. So you're
saying Texans against the spread Texans, Yes? Cool? Thank you
for me getting complicated. Spot what's up? Never bet against

(24:50):
the Chiefs. That's how I live my life. Seconds ago,
actually I did. Mahomes just had his third kid. Why
not have a three p how about that? And I
know for a fact that Mahomes gave accolades to his
wife not only for pushing out the kid, but for
letting him watch football during the birth of their child,

(25:11):
which means he's focused, he's in the game, he's ready
to go for this week cheaps win. Are you saying
he's motivated? How Like in Rocky Too, Adrian had the baby.
I get that. I do nothing else to play for it.
And John, we'll wrap with you West Palm Beach. What
do you think, Bud?

Speaker 5 (25:26):
All Right, fellas, I've got I'm going to take Casey
given the eighth, I think it's going to be a
twenty four to ten game. I think Andy Reid's gonna
out coach Dimiko.

Speaker 1 (25:36):
Yeah, Buthka coaches, but Andy Reid's been there, done that
many times. All right, let's move it along. Saturday Night Commandos,
the Commanders formerly the Redskins. They've had glory in our childhood.
They haven't had glory in a while. This is their
first playoff of win last week in what almost a decade.
So Commander is going hot into Detroit, where you know
Eminem is going to be on hand. They got the rest,

(25:58):
they're motivated. Fifteen and two, they're favored by nine and
a half. Let's start with Cavino nine and a half Lions.
You know, Jayden Daniels is so exciting, and it sounds
and feels foolish to say that the Lions are gonna cover,
but I think they will because they're at home, and
I think their defense is strong enough to contain him.

(26:18):
Thirty twenty covers that that yeah, score in my head
stands out. I'm sticking with the Lions. Do you know
what else stands out to me? Thirty twenty three or
an upset? I like the Commanders. I think that fifteen
and two. We've seen this before in the playoffs. Record
doesn't mean anything when you get to this point. It's
who's hot, who's playing well at the time. Some maybe
maybe the Lions win, but they haven't played in two weeks.

(26:40):
They come back, I don't know. I'm going I'm going
Commanders to cover. You know, let's go to John and
West Palm. What do you think John?

Speaker 5 (26:48):
I like Detroit. I think Dan Campbell, the way they play,
the getting healthy. I don't think Jay Dangiels is gonna
happen this year. I think he's gonna fizzle out. I'll
take the straight lane the nine.

Speaker 1 (26:58):
And a half. It's gonna body boy, you know. I mean,
I did pick the Lions to go the distance before
the season, and you saw a wicked last time. That's great.

Speaker 5 (27:14):
Cowardly.

Speaker 1 (27:14):
There's nothing cowardly about these Lions, I'll tell you that much.
I would. Yeah, I agree. I think I think the
Lions as much as I think the Commanders are really
pushing into the postseason. They're fun to watch. It's fun
to watch. I do think that the Lions will edge
out the spread, so I'm gonna go with the lines.

Speaker 3 (27:31):
Yeah, Jayden Daniels came through for me last week with
my Commando's pick. But you know what, the at Home,
especially the Lions just too powerful of a team. I
could see him winning by like thirteen points they.

Speaker 1 (27:42):
Score at will guessing my pick. Now, I'm sticking with
the Commanders, Mazi.

Speaker 4 (27:46):
I actually think the Commanders have been a team that
scores all season, like they're gonna score. You guys, the
Lions are gonna win, but nine and a half is
a lot. They'd have to win by ten. I don't
see that happening. I'm taking the Commanders against the.

Speaker 1 (27:57):
Spread, and Iowa Samuel making it as confusing as possible. No,
I'm just giving you the betting lingo. I think. Yeah,
I will lay the points of the Lions. There you go,
that's nine point. Fine, all right, let's move to Sunday
here this game. You know, let's keep in mind from
what I'm reading, and you know me, I read headline,
so the accuracy is never that your cereal boxes and billboards. Listen,

(28:22):
you're the guy that sends me articles. I'm like, did
you even read this? The Rams are going to Philly
and they're saying it's gonna be cold and maybe snowy,
so the conditions could play a factor. And right now
we got it at Philly minus six and a half,
Eagles at home Saquon in the snow, in the cold,

(28:43):
they're saying it's gonna be frigid. Let's start with Davy j.

Speaker 3 (28:47):
This is where the Rams momentum hits a wall. I
saw this stat this morning. The La Rams have not lost.
They haven't lost to the Eagles in the playoffs in
seventy five years. Wow, But I think that stops on Sunday.
So Eagles, I could see them definitely covering those points.

Speaker 1 (29:06):
Monsey, what do you think?

Speaker 2 (29:08):
I think it's gonna be a tough game for the Rams.

Speaker 4 (29:11):
I read that Matthew Stafford and snow cold rain games
is one in eight, So I am taking the Eagles
to just win it.

Speaker 2 (29:24):
Yeah, buy more than seven?

Speaker 1 (29:25):
Well, do you know what? I share your sentiments? I
feel as though the Rams hot the second half of
the year. Again, I always say, don't look at the record.
Ten and seven means nothing. They started like trash. They
got hot. They played great in the second half, as
good as anyone in the NFC. But the party stops
in Philadelphia and the Colt it really does. Yeah, so
I'm going Eagles covering. They went by a tuddy, they

(29:46):
win the spread. Yeah, Dan Camino, you know, guess what
you bet against the Rams last week and we're wrong
about it. So I wouldn't bet against them. Is to
do it for Johnny mentality, you go with the hot hand.
I'm going Rams on this. They're gonna have in. Yeah,
they're clicking at the right time. They played big. They're
playing for La again. We proved that when you have

(30:08):
a little something extra to play for, you step up.
And they did that. Do it for Johnny, for Johnny,
for La. Let's go to John and West Palm. John,
what's your take on this one. I think it's gonna
be low scoring game.

Speaker 5 (30:21):
I like the Rams. I don't think it's gonna be
a high scoring game. I think the Rams cover all right.

Speaker 1 (30:25):
I like it, spotty boy. I think you could. I
can only cash in that do it for Johnny card
once and I think they did it for Johnny. I
think that that buck is run out. I like that,
you know, and and let's be honest, everyone's you know,
Otani only gave five hundred thousand. No one cares about
Alley anymore. Sam, it's over. I would say birds will cover,

(30:47):
Birds will cover the Eagles. Uh, and Sammy, I will
take the Rams to cover. Eagles win, Rams cover. Right now,
I left this one for last, not only because it's
the last game of the week. But if you think
you have an instinct on this game, you're lying to me,
You're lying to yourself, you like to everyone. How can
you look at this game and be like, oh, I'm
very confident with the Ravens or the Bills. This is

(31:07):
more of a who do you want to win? And
you know who's gonna just play better that day. My
instinct is that the Ravens are hot and they're slightly better.
But then when you throw in the fact that it's
in Buffalo the Bills Mafia home field, there's that equalizes
the little edge I would have given the Ravens. Right now,
it's a pick them right now. Baltimore's minus one on

(31:29):
the road. So the sentiment is that you know, Ravens
should win this game. I'm going Bills. I'm going with
my heart because I do feel like it's gonna be
very hard for any team in the NFL this year
to stop the Ravens the way they're playing now. But
Josh Allen's gonna have a magical game. That's my vibe.
Let me go next before I forget my point here,
because you said it was a push. You said the
Ravens are more talented, but the Bills are at home.
The Ravens also have more to lose if they lose,

(31:52):
more at Steak if they lose Lamar Jackson MVP. He
has so much more to prove, I think by winning
this game. Well, so we said, come on the line.
He said, raven come Monday. One of those quarterbacks are
going to be questioned, can't they get it? But I
think Lamar Jackson is going to garner a hell of
a lot more criticism than Josh Allen. So I think again,

(32:14):
you said it was a push advantage Again, Raven's more
to play for, Raven's super talented, more weapons. Ravens is
my pick. No, let's kick it too, I was him,
I'm gonna take the Bills to win this game. Wow,
can you pay my can you pay my tail phone beings?
Can you pay my automobiles, Big Destiny's child fan. I
was saying, who knew Belano? What's your take?

Speaker 4 (32:35):
You know, I'm with you. I think it's really like
flip a coin. How are you feeling today? I might
change my mind tomorrow, but right now I am taking
the bills and I'm just giving them the edge because
it's at home.

Speaker 2 (32:43):
I also think weather is going to play a factor
in here.

Speaker 4 (32:46):
I know it's cold in Baltimore, but I think it's
a little bit different of a cold in Baltimore.

Speaker 1 (32:51):
Jackson, where's that cover?

Speaker 4 (32:53):
Yes? Can Lamar Jackson one time in the cold and
see how much he's running because he I think he's.

Speaker 2 (32:58):
A little hurt.

Speaker 4 (32:59):
Didn't he have like get back or like he got
hurt last week or two weeks ago.

Speaker 2 (33:03):
I don't think it's gonna be Lamar Jackson said that.

Speaker 1 (33:05):
He said this is serious. We ain't friends.

Speaker 2 (33:07):
I have a serious good That's how most athletes should say.

Speaker 1 (33:10):
Yeah. I think he looked fired up. I wouldn't bet
against him.

Speaker 2 (33:13):
Yeah, well, I'm not betting against Josh Allens.

Speaker 1 (33:15):
But you love Buffalo Wings, but you went to college
in Maryland. I know what a what a struggle I'm
facing right now. You know what, I think love will
triumph overall here. And I think that Josh Allen just
being in love, just doing it for his future wife.
Yeah to be. I mean Hallie Steinfeld. They call her
the Queen of Buffalo, Queen of Buffalo Wings. I'm gonna

(33:38):
go with the Bills I've had a good feeling about
them the last you know, it's a great matchup.

Speaker 3 (33:43):
Man who closed the door on the Steelers last weekend,
Derrick Henry. He's going to be the difference in this game.

Speaker 1 (33:53):
It's so again. As I discuss his game every second,
you could change your minds. I'm like, Yeah, how the
hell are we gonna stop? Derek coin flip? I grate
Raven Ravens. I'll stick with the Bills advantage and let's
wrap it up with John. And by the way, John,
thanks for playing along man. This is a fun I
got five on it. What Yeah? John, By the way,
stay on the line because we're going to send you
a swiggy.

Speaker 5 (34:12):
I appreciate it. Thanks for having me guys. You guys
do a great job. Listen.

Speaker 1 (34:16):
I'm with dB.

Speaker 5 (34:17):
I like Baltimore, like King Henry. I don't think the
I don't think the linebacker is in the Buffalo defense
can stop that scent a hole and Henry's just going
to crush him.

Speaker 1 (34:26):
Nice. He's with you, Danny J. And stay on hold. John.
Thanks for playing along. We appreciate it. We'll post this
at Covino and Rich on social media. I'll do it
right now. In fact, Monts, you got a quick update
and yeah, well yeah, yeah, thank you buddy. Make it snappy.

Speaker 4 (34:40):
Yeah, I got you all right. Speaking about the Ravens
and the Bills. Wide receiver z A Flowers doubtful. I mean
he has not practiced since January.

Speaker 1 (34:47):
Fourth.

Speaker 4 (34:48):
Buffalo running back Ray Davis questionable. He's still in the
league's concussion protocol.

Speaker 1 (34:52):
He goes.

Speaker 4 (34:53):
Wide receiver AJ Brown removed from the injury report. He
is going to play against the Rams. The Dolphins will
play the NFL's fir sever regular season game in Spain.

Speaker 2 (35:02):
Madrid is going to host a matchup next season.

Speaker 4 (35:04):
The date of the game and Miami's opponent is going
to be announced later this spring. And lastly, here guys,
Don Staley, head coach of the South Carolina women's basketball team,
signed a contract extension that's going to keep her out
the school until twenty thirty. The new contract starts with
an annual salary of four million, with other incentives.

Speaker 2 (35:19):
The point is she's going.

Speaker 4 (35:20):
To be the highest paid college women's basketball coach in
the history of the sport.

Speaker 1 (35:25):
Awesome you go girl. Back to you guys, Thank you, Mozzi.

And we did a brand new episode of over Promise yesterday.
We played a game It's named That Baby Star Star
NFL Playoff Edition, so before they were stars, name that

(37:37):
player before they was a star. And of course we
talked about Bob Yuker and Rich gave his picks. That's
on Fox Sports Radio's YouTube page. Bob Yuker huh seen
a lot of great clips of him around social media.
In fact, I retweeted something on x You see that
clip floater out of Bob Yucker when he was on
Johnny Carson back in the day. Honestly, check it out.

(38:02):
It's fantastic. I mean, I'm not surprised. He's such a
personable guy. He had such great time his comedic time.
I was just gonna say that he was. He starts
out by showing a picture of him celebrating in the
locker room and Johnny Carson's like, ah see, yeah, this
yeares after a game. He goes, No, that's how I
get ready, Like everything he said was just a great
timing line. Did you guys see uh Norm MacDonald on

(38:25):
let him in probably about ten fifteen years ago talking
about Uker. I did that was great because he had
Norm had Dave and stitches and he was doing this
impression of Bob Yuker and it just Norm Park Norman.
Norm McDonald is just he just had such a you know, Sam,
I don't know if you know. He was one of
my favorites. I love Norm. I love Norm. His offbeat

(38:45):
tone was so great, fantastic. All right, listen, we're gonna
talk some Pete A Lonzo, We're gonna talk some NFL.
We got Dallas Goddard on the show this hour. It's
gonna be a lot of fun. But I want to
throw one thing out there. You talk about clever advertising,
remember back in the day was like Super Bowl ads
were millions of dollars and they still are. But it
was the idea of waiting to see what ad was

(39:06):
going to be right. That was the whole culture change
with it. I with social media. I saw something today
and I thought it was pretty clever. In Times Square
there's a huge cores light. Again, this is not an ad,
huge cores Light billboard in Times Square. There's also a
huge Heidi Montag billboard that is true, and it says
cors Light Mountain Cold Refreshment. They spelt refreshment wrong. It

(39:31):
says Mountain Cold refreshment. Do you know that was done
on purpose? It was there, you go, they reach out
to cores Light, and cors Light's like, oh my goodness.
And the whole centiment for a minute was how do
they walk? That happened? And they said, sorry, we were tired.
We just when we printed that ad, we had a
case of the Mondays. Everyone's a case of the Mondays.

(39:54):
In promotion of their new cors Light case of the
they're selling a case of beer the Monday after Super
Bowl Sunday. Guess they said it's the most Monday of
all Mondays because we all have to go back to work.
So this whole misprint just showing you a part of
the campaign, always trying to find clever ways to get

(40:14):
people talking because everyone's like, what idiots refers. They knew
all the grammar police would come after him. Danny's ridiculous though,
people do it, Danny. That's why Rich has the no
Regirts tattoo on his back. I was saying, just so
people talk about no joke. There are people designed doing
this on Instagram, TikTok, Facebook. Do you ever see someone

(40:36):
say or do something wrong to justs I hate it.
It's ridiculous. It makes me angry on TikTok and Instagram.
I mean, everyone knows this, but you want engagement. So
every time someone says something pep wrong. No, But every
time someone says something wrong, there hundreds of comment It's like, no,
you idiot. The Ravens didn't win the Super Bowl with
Lamar Jackson. That's just hundreds of engaged responders. And that's

(41:00):
why Rich has the ancient Chinese symbol for numbskull tattooed
on his back. He tells people this wisdom, but it's
not numbskull. All right, Hey, Pete Alonzo, is he getting
the raw deal? We'll talk a little more NFL and
Dallas Goddard. I'm going to join us this hour as
the Eagles get ready to play the Rams, and you
know I'm gonna post our picks at covid on Rich

(41:22):
for we got five on it this Saturday and Sunday,
as they say the best weekend of NFL football divisional weekend.
