that guy? I will Sam. I hope you had a
great weekend, A trunk or treat, trick or treat, Halloween party,
Dodgers sort of weekend. Lacious did a Dodger. I tip
(00:41):
my ache hat to the Blue Jays, because what a battle.
Without the Blue Jays, you wouldn't have had that battle,
and we all reaped the benefits. Like John Lovet's in
a wedding singer man so to you. Sure they battled
and we reaped all the benefit. You shure you feel
bad for the Blue Jays because wasn't it a Laddy
grind who did the whole Uh, let's rock out. Let's

We have a live chat. Rich, pull up the chat man,
say hello. I'll say hi. Now the chattiest guy I know.
Now it's your opportunity. If you remember Vladdie Junior did
his Yankees lose hit it, I was sam it Yankee Yankees.
(01:54):
Now is your chance to blue Hey, Daddy Dandy Glatdy's
my boy. Let's say Blue Jays yay, Daddy Daddy Yankey.
I don't even want to rub it in. I feel
this low class. I can't tell you that I was
(02:17):
rooting for the Blue Jays because I wasn't, but I
was pulling for them. But I'm very happy to see
the Dodgers win again because and we'll talk about it
and things that make you go. You just talk gout
to both sides of your mouth. You can't pull for
someone then hope someone else wins. I think it's great
for baseball. Dodgers won. I was pulling for the Blue Jays.
I love seeing the battle. I love seeing unlikely heroes
(02:37):
like Ernie Clement break hit records and all these dudes
come through, and Gladdy played big. But the Dodgers are
saving baseball. So the question in itself, are they ruining
baseball or saving baseball? No, they're full of stars that
come through. They're a great, great team, and I tip
my Yankee hat to both teams. Congrats two in a row.
(02:57):
They're they're starting a dynasty.
Speaker 3 (03:00):
And I mean they.
Speaker 1 (03:00):
Won in twenty twenty, so you could say three in
that many years. That's sort of a dynasty. I mean
I count that year. Of course, I'm not one of
those you know, COVID years don't count. It absolutely counts,
but it's a little less.
Speaker 4 (03:11):
No.
Speaker 1 (03:12):
I think it counts though. But what a weekend. And
I felt if you enjoyed it, I found myself really
pulling for the Dodgers. Now, listen, don't get it twisted,
because like kids are on. Don't get it twisted like Jayden,
like Jayden's elbow. Oh that's too soon, bro, that's a
controversy in itself.
Speaker 3 (03:32):
It's too soon, Bro.
Speaker 1 (03:33):
I'm sorry. Do we all believe in load management and football?
Now we given giving up? I don't get like all
the problems with dan Quinn keeping him in, we're just
giving up now in football. I think the Broncos prove
recently you don't give up. I apologize for that, but
don't get it twisted. I'm a Mets fan, but I
did find myself finding this team's so likable. And I
(03:55):
said it the other day the same way I fell
in love with the Mets as a New York kid
in the eighties, when it was Darryl Dwight, Keith Hernandez,
Gary Carter, Ray Knight. It was honestly Stars. I can't
blame my kids Stars Stars like Colin would say, Stars, Stars, Stars.
There should be a drinking game for how many times
(04:17):
Colin says Stars in his show. You'd be drunk within
the first half hour Stars Stars. So the same way
I loved all those characters in the eighties as a
little boy, how can I blame my son who lives
in Los Angeles. Who's five gonna be six? I mean,
is anyone really mad at your son? No? But I'm
saying like blaming them. No, But I'm saying he's fine
as a as a dad when he's like dad. I
(04:40):
like the Mets, but I like the Dodgers too. Dude,
when I was five, I liked eating my boogers too.
It doesn't matter. He's fine, He'll figure it out. Lately,
got to like buy bottom of a little Mookie Bets Jersey.
So we had a good time. Now we're gonna go
over all the things that made you go hmmm. From
the World Series from Week nine to the NFL. I
don't want to be I know Jay stew from The
(05:00):
Gottlieb Show hates when people talk about time flying, But
can you believe next week we're going about to enter
week ten like we're more than halfway there. We're further
along than bon Jovi. We'll be broadcasting live from the
Super Bowl before you know it, but before we get
everybody involved on Monday. Halfway there, we're like more than that,
We're three fourths of the way there. I want to
(05:20):
congratulate Danny g What up Super producer Danny.
Speaker 5 (05:24):
G I feel like I aged ten years watching that
world series.
Speaker 1 (05:28):
Dude, I don't blame you. It was fantastic. Iowa, Sam,
I know you're a Dodgers fan. Congrat who it was stressful.
Sam's on the ones and two's Boddy and Lee are
on the videos, and Monsey, congratulations to you too. Thank you.
Who let off the ninth ending with a strikeout was
a Kik it was and he swung at that low
(05:48):
outside slider.
Speaker 3 (05:50):
He swung at two pieces of crap pitches.
Speaker 1 (05:52):
I'll be honest, Danny, not gonna lie to you, because
my kids were pulled for the Dodgers, and I have
way more Dodgers friends than Blue Jay's friends. So I
felt myself really pulled for you guys. After Kei k
A swung at some trash pitches. You know, you get
that feeling of like, yeah, it's over. It's not over,
but it's over. Hoffman team lights out, you know, and
Hoffman had been lights out. I really, in my mind
(06:15):
tough on himself too. You know, it's not his fault.
Speaker 5 (06:17):
I mean, so get and we were just praying that
Rojas would get on base, like hit a single. Absolutely,
That's how we know Miggie. Miggie's not a home run hitter.
Speaker 4 (06:26):
I expected the hit after him was OTAWNI And did
he pop out like just missing the war.
Speaker 1 (06:31):
It was like you would have thought it would have
been the other way, you know what I mean. But
when when Rojas hit that ball, were you guys in disbelief?
I mean, he's not a home run hitter. Did you
feel like it was asry seven career home runs? I believe,
right hadn't got a hit still.
Speaker 4 (06:49):
I think it was like early September his last home.
Speaker 5 (06:51):
Run, like it is his only one, and he had
n't been in the lineup for like twenty five days
before Game six.
Speaker 4 (06:55):
He went in the lineup for defense, you know what
I mean, to play that second basic the guy out
at home if he needed to make that throw. I
but right away when he hit it, though, it looked
like it was gone.
Speaker 3 (07:07):
Yeah, because he stepped into right.
Speaker 4 (07:09):
Yeah, because there's other home runs where you're waiting, right,
is it gonna take off or is it gonna die?
Like we see them a lot here in LA. Yes,
the Marine layer, but immediately you're like, that's gone.
Speaker 1 (07:18):
And did you see what he Roberts said after the
game where he found out just minutes before he hung
out with Poppy A Rod Jeter and Burkhart. He was
telling a story about how Rojas's wife because again props
to Dave Roberts for putting in his guy, believing in him.
Even Kevin Malar said, I think Rojas is gonna have
a big moment tonight, Like there were so many crazy
(07:39):
predictions about Rojas doing well. But Rojas's wife said, listen, Miho, listen,
Papa to night's your night. Believe in yourself. You're gonna
hit a home run tonight. And I think Rojas's response
was like, I haven't hit a home run in months,
Like it's not gonna happen. She's like, You're gonna hit
a home run tonight.
Speaker 3 (07:57):
And sure.
Speaker 1 (07:58):
I mean, our wife's just say things to make people
feel nice, like I'm sure, Daddy g and give You know,
your wives say that you're like the best I've ever had.
We know that sometimes there's exaggerations. It's a nice star.
There's more to the story. You don't dump on it.
I think she believed in it. She had a premonition.
You know, we're talking people of faith here. You know,
if you go get him, and he went out there
and he did it.
Speaker 5 (08:17):
Matt Rich wives manifested getting us.
Speaker 1 (08:21):
I will say Dave Roberts, one of the first things
he did was he thanked the wives of the Dodgers.
I thought that was so cool because it's so true.
In fact, if you missed that part, hit it. I
was saying, I want to give a shout out to
the wives.
Speaker 3 (08:35):
The wives are the.
Speaker 2 (08:36):
Players, the coaches, front office.
Speaker 1 (08:38):
You ladies are the clue, the foundations, and everybody backing
out line.
Speaker 3 (08:44):
You better cancel work plans because we got it Parde
on Monday.
Speaker 1 (08:49):
And every great man is a great woman. And I
do believe that you see these superstars come together because
they have great support from a great support system. And
I think that was really cool. And that Rojas story
is a sort of under the radar story where his
wife was really hyping him up about it. I felt
so happy for him and I love him, Dave. I
(09:09):
love how Dave Roberts became a hip hop DJ. For
a second, he was giving shout outs, some big ups.
Shout out some big ups to the wife he play
don't forget.
Speaker 5 (09:16):
After Game five, I sent you guys the story about
how Rojas was the last player on the dugout steps
for the Dodgers after that horrible loss, and he did
not want to go into the locker room with the
rest of his teammates. He was soaking it up. This
is his last season and he was super upset. You
could tell how much he cares about the game of baseball.
Speaker 1 (09:37):
Yeah, from that huge moment in Game six though, again,
I feel like that fire that they all shared together
with that Kyk double play in his scoop, From that
moment on, they played with that same fire, and I
think that really changed the entire rest of the series.
That scoop he made in Game six, the infield in
the home run. I mean, Miguel Rojas had a series, dude,
(09:59):
so many huge moments we go on all day. That
bare handed play to me, to me, the thing that
gets under the radar. There's a I have like a
few notes that we're gonna get to the NFL. Don't
worry if you're a big football fan, there's plenty of
time over the next two hours. If I even got
some Halloween questions, some observation things that made me go,
in fact, rich, why are we making the people wait?
(10:21):
We do it every Monday, but it's a very special
World Series Slash Week nine of the NFL. Anything you
observed this weekend, Things that made you go hmmm, things
that make you go, things that make you go, We
do it every money Monday. Any observations you made, Let's
get it going eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox
(10:43):
eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox, or hit us
up at Covino and Rich. My my top three, I
have three blaring things that stand out to me. Whom
Casey Kasem I give us a countdown at chap three
coming in at number one. I'm like Spider Harrison, Casey
k Some Seacrest and Rick D's all in one. Give
me your best Spider Harrison coming in number three. Then
(11:08):
the little Casey case who rest in peace. Didn't used
to broadcast from here, Yes, right here in the stool.
Speaker 3 (11:13):
A production room like school.
Speaker 1 (11:14):
He still has a sign here in the studio. Then
he did the voices on School. Yeah he was shaggy dude.
Everybody knows. Anyway, my top three. I thought that that
Roja Scoop is so underrated because unless you play baseball,
Mante you played softball. It wasn't a true bounce. It
wasn't a scoop where you where you you know, if
(11:35):
you play baseball, you know to catch that little scoop.
That was the in between impossible, like you're sort of guessing.
There is a element of guessing where it's not the
short hops. It was beautiful. It's everything about it was
like his eye hand coordination because again, that's not a
first basement with a little scoop. It's not a one
bouncer where it's a true bounce you get caught in between.
Speaker 3 (11:56):
And the fact that he.
Speaker 1 (11:57):
Did that while keeping his foot on the bag. Everything
about that with spectacular hold on and we've all seen
it on social media. Two great plays. Key k going
against the coach's instructions playing in caught it. Barger not
thinking that he was gonna catch it. He catches that
no look because he's looking at third, he's looking at
(12:18):
second when you see it broken down, he's not even
looking at the ball when he catches it, and he's
ready to Yeah, he was already. He knew what he
was gonna do. Game of inches. Every little thing and
mattered that right there. Oh I'm sorry, did I say
tough three? I have a tap four coming to a
number four that was number four, number three. The ball
(12:40):
getting stuck in the wall. Zo might be the greatest
thing that ever happened to the Los Angeles Dodgers. Goes
back to key K again because Key K was the
first guy to signal to center field hands up. If
you watch it over again, it may be lost because
it all happened so fast. You see the veteran presence
of a guy who's been there before and steps up
in these moments. Keik her Nandez was a big time hero.
(13:02):
Dose his hands right up. Don't toudge it, dose his
hands up, and that changed everything. Bro.
Speaker 6 (13:10):
So we most of us have never seen that happen
where the ball gets wedged between the wall and the ground.
But Jonas Knox, who I worked with over the weekend,
he says, this happens at Wrigley Field all the time,
when the ball would go into the ivy in.
Speaker 3 (13:20):
A blue move.
Speaker 1 (13:21):
But the thing is they tried to do it. Remember
they found the Andre Dawson in there one time. Remember
that commercial the old Hawk is in there. No, but
I've never seen it wedged like that before. Well, they
tried to replicate this on MLB Network. I believe, and
they were like, yo, you could do it a thousand
times from close distance and you can't wedge it. And
that was a freaking incident that really changed the things.
Speaker 5 (13:40):
They have turf out there underneath that fence, and it's
a tight fit with a fence and the turf, and
so people that were trying to compare it to what
happened to the Mets back in the day rich with
the ball clearly underneath the fence, but no, this the
the ball just had a dead stop.
Speaker 4 (13:55):
That was the unluckiest moment for the Blue Jays and
the luckiest moment for the Dodgers.
Speaker 1 (14:01):
I mean what that guy was scoring. That guy at
least one of them was scoring. You don't know if
they would have lost. Thinking about I'll tell you what
one runner would have scored and instead of second and third,
you got a guy on second. There's it changes all
complexity of the game.
Speaker 4 (14:13):
Unlucky in the sense that was a hard hit ball.
What are the chances of getting in the crevice and
not moving at all?
Speaker 1 (14:21):
Like that?
Speaker 3 (14:22):
Is? That was so on.
Speaker 4 (14:23):
It was such a hard hit ball, it was almost
like you should have not hit it as hard like unlucky.
Speaker 1 (14:29):
And lucky for worse. Usually lucky when someone gets caught
in some crevassiers some crevices. Sometimes sometimes it's good to
get stuck into crevices. Just not that time. All right.
So that was number three, number two of my top
four that I just randomly made up riches Top four
MLB countdown. Yeah, bro, someone broke this down and I
posted on my Instagram story at Rich Davis. Now, I'm
(14:50):
not saying no one else thought of this, but this
guy was the first to bring it to my attention.
This guy here, you're gonna give no credit to so
Chubby GIBBRONI from you some random reporter on TikTok. I
don't know who it is, but you want me to
give him credit? Hall, let me say if it's still
my thing? Oh saw the same click White Rose Baseball.
There you go, some chubby do with a beard that
seems like a nice fellow. He talks about how when
(15:14):
Angel pegan not Angel Pagan. I'm sorry, Pius Angel Pagan,
that was the first shout of that guy gotten a
decade on any sports radio. Angel Pagan. That name creep
into my head, PA has you know, here's the other
side story. There's so many little stories. He had just
gone in as a defensive replacement for Edmund. So again,
(15:36):
this had just happened. These are little stories that go
right under the radar. They just put them in great
call by Roberts. But yeah, I'm not sure Edmund makes
that catch up. Yeah, so probably not happen. And if
that didn't happen, he does not make that this, by
the way, this has nothing to do with Angel Pagan
for the start, I'm not sure what happened.
Speaker 3 (15:55):
They're gonna shout out Candy Maldonado.
Speaker 1 (15:57):
Now lets say, you know, it's so crazy when Jeff
Kent what you know, Andy pis when he goes back
for that ball and him and by the way, key K,
we've all been there, whether it's Little League, when a
ball is directly over your head, the angle you take,
you're not you're not going left, you're not going right,
like you're sort of in a no man's land. Key
(16:18):
K is not catching that ball.
Speaker 4 (16:20):
Zero chance.
Speaker 1 (16:22):
What I thought was the coolest observation was that when
Pies floats over like he's Carlos Beltron in his prime,
like he floated from center field to left field, he
makes that catch, collides with key K. Key K's down
on the ground like a ton of bricks. Your instinct was, oh,
is key K hurt? And then when this guy pointed
out on Instagram, I was like, oh my god, yeah,
(16:43):
key K in that moment thought I didn't get the ball.
We just lost the World Series. I cost the team
the World Series by colliding with pie his In this moment,
when you see key K down on the ground for
like five seconds, you're like, oh my god, is he hurt?
And then he just pops up.
Speaker 3 (16:59):
He was a hurt.
Speaker 1 (17:00):
You got to see Kei K thinking for five seconds,
I just cost the team the World Series.
Speaker 3 (17:07):
I got it.
Speaker 1 (17:07):
I got it.
Speaker 3 (17:10):
Smile Yeah.
Speaker 1 (17:12):
So I thought that was like you got to see
someone's real time reaction. But at that moment, I didn't
think of that. I just thought, oh, maybe Keik got
banged up. In that moment, he thought we just lost
the World Series. Every one of these moments was necessary
for the Dodgers to win, and they pulled it off.
You know, you had to be the man to beat
(17:32):
the man. The Dodgers proved that they're the men, they're
the team, and and and the Blue Jays were great.
I understand the sentiment of people thinking they might have
been the better team because they have a great style,
a great fight. But the Dodgers are still just a
little better man because they did all those little things
to combat and they did it when it mattered. Props
(17:52):
to Rojas, Props to Will Smith. What dude came too
big again? Again? You can't really put your finger Here's
the best part about it. You can't really put your
finger on what the best moment was. Was it the Crevis?
Was it Miguel Rojas? Was it Will Smith coming through
doing something that no one does coming through big game.
(18:15):
He he embraced like his old school, like inner Japanese
warrior and got out there like that is something that
is admirable. Like he's he wanted that ball, but my
number one, number one, number one be and and listen.
He has defended himself since. And I feel like this
is such a tricky moment in the World Series and
(18:37):
will be remembered forever. You're old Yankee now Blue Jay
Kiner Falaffel Isaiah k I KF good ballplayer. They put
him in there for his speed. Now when you see
the overhead shot of the weakest ass secondary lead, he's
(19:00):
on that ball that's hit to Rojas, you want to
immediately be like, this guy's weak ass base running cost
the Blue Jays the World Series. If Max Munsey's ten
feet off the bag, why is the runner? Is he
only five feet off the bag. He has since spoken
saying that all the managers and coaches were so adamant
about not getting doubled up that they said be, you know,
(19:23):
be cautious with your secondary leads. Think about it, guys,
if you're a casual baseball fan infield in because there's
a play at the plate, but if there's a line
drive hit to anybody there, you got to be cautious
to not get doubled up. But sat drive hit to
Munsie in a later situation, I'm just glad that the coaches.
I feel like the coaches have to take more accountability
of Like, no, we told him not to take a
(19:45):
secondary lead, because had he taken a secondary lead, the
Blue Jays win the World Series? Just ran through it.
Why did he slide? A lot of people are saying
that he should have head first to a head first
dive might have gotten gotten there sooner. Who knows, because
you know, we from playing baseball as a kid, they
always say sliding into first base is not the move
you get that quicker running through. So I don't know
(20:08):
what the right answer is. I don't think any of
us do. I wonder if Ai. I wonder if Ai Son,
as he knows he's going home, he has to take
a bigger lead or get a bigger jump. There the
fact that Rojas was able to still get his feet
from under him. He stumbled and he still got him out.
And again, if will will Smith could have been could
(20:29):
have been. I want to say the goat, but the
goat means greatest of all time now, but he could
have been blamed for losing it if his foot was
not on that base bad way to the little moment
Will Smith made it such a great and memorable World Series. Honestly,
my number one is the fact that you could argue
that we witnessed, we were honored enough to witness and
my team wasn't even in it. One of the most
(20:50):
well played world series, most exciting World Series, Top three
at least of all time. My dad's a seventy year
old guy, loves baseball, loves sootball. My dad's retired. He
watches sports, plays tennis, golf, doesn't you know he's my
dad's traveling. He's doing an old retired guy does, but
he's a retired sports fan. My dad says, we just wentness.
He goes, I'm a son. I watched the hell of
(21:11):
a lot of baseball from Mantle and Maris to you know,
the eighties, nineties. He said this, He's like, it was
so well played, he goes, he goes, how could you
not be pulled in? Like? It really was the best
the World Series? We applaud and we said it all
season long? Did we not say it all season long?
Baseball's popping and it ended so perfectly with the Dodgers
on top. Will Smith props to a great I gotta
(21:34):
ask if IKF gets that secondary lead slides head first,
if the Dodgers lose the World Series on Will Smith's
foot going up, do you guys hate Will Smith?
Speaker 3 (21:46):
No? No, like you.
Speaker 1 (21:48):
Like, why would you pick up your foot like? Because
there wasn't The foot came up and went down. He's
lucky that it went back down. But I wonder had
Ikf if it was literally when I tell you what,
you know the still frame, which would haunt the Toronto
fan either they lost the World series by much eye
three inches?
Speaker 3 (22:04):
Yeah, but rich would it have been lost on a
replay because.
Speaker 1 (22:08):
I would say more six inches. By the way, when
you get right, when you watch that in real time,
because we've seen it in slow motion like a million times.
When you're watch in real time, it was so bang bang,
so close. It was so close. And rich On that
thought something that made me go, and again we'll take
your phone calls at eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox.
Things that made you go, hm, NFL that also counts
(22:31):
NBA Halloween whatever you observe this weekend. Let's say IKF
did score the Blue Jays win? Who gets the MVP?
If they win? Would it have been Clement who broke
the hit record? Actually like a beast would have been
you savage? Would it had been Laddie? Like who would
have been the MVP for that team? Because they That's
(22:52):
a great question.
Speaker 3 (22:53):
Yeah. Blatty was even sick with his glove.
Speaker 1 (22:57):
Nobody was out of his mind. Defense was hitting every
time when caught that laundry and then danced to the
dugout like I think the.
Speaker 4 (23:06):
Double play where he went to to went back to
cover first like that, right, I was like everything that's it.
They're gonna win everything.
Speaker 1 (23:16):
By the way, I'm so glad one last thing and
then we'll get to more football and of course, hey
you got baseball observations. Let's hear I'm having some fun today.
To it's like an overwhelming Monday because we're into November now,
it's like, take a deep breath, Halloween World Series. All
this is now in the rear view, and it felt
like just like too much of a weekend. On top
of that, I got a colonoscopy, so my weekend.
Speaker 4 (23:37):
Thank you for the fact, thank you.
Speaker 1 (23:38):
Yeah, yeah, what a weird what what a weird weekend?
I aparently the doctor told me had the bunghole of
an eighteen year old. Yeah, congratulations, that was the quote.
Speaker 3 (23:46):
I believe.
Speaker 1 (23:47):
Yeah, but don't be diving into my inbox after that news.
Don't be diving in where I don't want. I don't
want any d ms from any weirdos. So I'm just
so glad because it could have happened. Right, we talked
about a memorable game six and seven, and for the
most part the eighteen inning game as well. Here's the thought,
thank god none of those moments, because they very well
(24:08):
could have. There were so many times where that game
game six, seven, or three could have been determined by
a walk, a sack, fly or something like anti climactic.
Are you glad it didn't like the fact that it was,
you know, a double mookie turning a double play, a
one you know, essentially a sixth stepping on the bag
(24:29):
three double play. That was a great six six three
double play. Do you look at me? A broken bat?
That was another thing I don't I haven't heard anyone
talk about that. That was a broken bat. Yeah, I'm
a moto stepping up again, but a broken bat double
play from Alejandro kirk Man that could have went anyway,
and somehow he.
Speaker 3 (24:46):
Pulled that off.
Speaker 1 (24:46):
Don't you Don't you think though, that like if that
game had had ended in a walk or even even
like the Blue Jays would have taken it. But imagine
everyone's just standing there and the like after review. Will
Smith's foot was off the play. Blue Jay's won the
World Series.
Speaker 3 (25:01):
That's what I'm saying.
Speaker 5 (25:02):
It was kind of like how we were saying that
eighteen inning marathon, what if that had ended with just
that sacrifice fly, that call could have got.
Speaker 1 (25:09):
That's why we said, I remember telling you I was like,
I was so happy I was rooting for you, But
if Alex Call would have had a sackfly, that would
have been the weakest ending to the coolest game. So
anytime these games do end in dramatic fashion, you got
to say, that's so much better, so much better. Well,
I didn't think they could do it, rich you said
they would. I didn't think the Dodgers, as great as
(25:29):
they are, would go to Toronto and take two in
a row from a team that just battles the way
the Blue Jays did. That being said, the Dodgers proved
that they're one of the best teams we've ever seen.
Not only that they're likable, they're not really that hate heable.
They're such a great cast of characters and personalities both teams.
(25:51):
I was so impressed by both teams, the resilience of
both teams, the way they both battled, and again we're
privileged to have witnessed it. So your thoughts on Game six,
Game seven, your Halloween weekend, and of course Week nine
of the NFL. We turned to you next Fox Sports
Radio Nation, your feedback, your thoughts as we continue and
wrap up things that made you go hmmm more Coveno
(26:14):
and Rich next. It was so easy, breezy. I was
done before I knew it. Even the prep wasn't that bad.
So if you're paying benefits and paying for insurance, take
care of yourself health as well. The reminder here is
take advantage of it. Go get checked, and that's your
health warning of the day. It was not a big deal,
got home, watched the World Series. Had a great weekend.
(26:37):
By the way, Rich live from the Fox Sports Radio studio.
I picked them Cavino after his Colonosco be on Friday. Yeah,
I wasn't here on Friday. I did the show solo.
Some people said it was better.
Speaker 3 (26:48):
I'm kidding.
Speaker 1 (26:49):
I'm sure Dan Byer would love to know you did
it solo, solo meaning no Coveno. It was like, you know,
the ensemble, and I get I would never give it
hires much credit that I give the team on Friday
a lot of credit.
Speaker 6 (27:03):
And we were all weighing in quite a bit. It
was a lot of fun to make up for your voice.
Speaker 1 (27:08):
Sounds collaborative to me.
Speaker 6 (27:09):
I just imagined it was very collaborative. It doesn't sound
like a Rich show Rich Rich was the ringleader.
Speaker 1 (27:16):
It sounds like an ensemble performance in my opinion, Well,
what I was gonna say was when I picked up
Kavino all loopy from the doctor's office after it's colonoscope.
They won't let you take an uber home because they
legally can't put you in the hands of a stranger
when you're still medicated, so you have to have a
friend or family member pick up. I was Kavino's friend
(27:36):
or family member, but I had to fill out the
form to release him an under relationship. It said partner,
And I wonder if they all thought I was Kavino's boyfriend.
Probably yeah, Mancia Pixel after they saw how you the
card on your foot flops? Probably yeah, absolutely. They probably
look at that CE couple either that or a cowboy. Hey,
(27:57):
we've been together like twenty years. Oh no, we on
the ral bridge said, how do you partner? And sure,
we're here to pick up Covino.
Speaker 3 (28:04):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (28:04):
So, I hope you had a great weekend. You're both detectives.
That's not right, Merton Riggs. I hope you had a
Miguel Rojas Yamamoto sort of weekend, not a blue Jay
sort of weekend by a team's won. I hope you
enjoyed the parade footage today, we'll talk about that. I
hope you had a Steelers beat the Cults sort of weekend.
(28:26):
You can't win every game, dude. I think we didn't
think that the Culture're gonna go sixteen and one, did we?
I mean, you're gonna have an l and I think
on the road in Pittsburgh is one of those.
Speaker 3 (28:35):
Maybe.
Speaker 1 (28:35):
So your observations. Anything that happened this weekend. We do
that every Monday. Things that make you go. We still
have Last One Standing. We're gonna give away prizes during
the show eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox. Let's
get you involved. We also got the live chat going
on YouTube Covino and Rich FSR. Covino and Rich with
Danny g Sam, Spotty and Monzi's in for dB today.
Rich Well, I know mon season for dB because hey,
(28:58):
Daniel on the intro check keep in your pants. Monsey
is such a battie. Oh well, if you want to
see mons might as well cash in on that. Covino
and Rich FSR on YouTube. Covino and Rich FSR on YouTube.
If you need some eye candy to go with your
Halloween trees. By the way, speaking of which, Monsy sexy
referee for Halloween? Why not a sexy foot locker employee? Sure?
(29:23):
Can you not tell me you were the sexiest referee
other than ed hockey? So get this. He talked about
all the highlights, all the plays that could have been,
should have been, would have been almost all of them. Yeah,
And when we say this World Series had everything, and
all these close calls and big moments from unlikely heroes
and actual big moments from superstars. With all that and
(29:48):
the crevice and all these big plays, we didn't even
mention it was a bench clearing moment Danny j.
Speaker 5 (29:54):
Robleski channeling Joe Kelly. But I don't think he was
at It's not because I'm a Dodgers fan. You saw
him and as reaches his hand out to try to
get hit, and then he actually does get hit and
had a problem with it, and so you you could
read the lips of Robleski and then they got into it.
Speaker 1 (30:12):
To me, what fascinates me the most, ennyg for real,
is that it's World Series Game six or seven, Like,
no one's giving anyone a base. I don't care what
bad blood you have. In a close game six or seven,
no one is hitting anyone on purpose, I promise you
maybe have a lead. But they gave a warning, and
(30:32):
I'm like, a warning you think people in Game seven
of the World Series and a tight game need a warning.
Motions were so high it was great. It just added
more fire and fun to us as the viewer. And
I do have one little I'll have one bone to pick. Okay,
one small one made me say, hmm, you can't predict
how you're gonna react when you win the World Series, right,
(30:55):
But when Yamamoto gets that double play, great play by
Mookie Batts, great pitch to get Kirk on a double play,
I feel like his first instinct is to turn around
and hug his catcher. That's the team right there, and
instead he's just he's shows and give your catcher a
(31:15):
hug man. I think that was the you know, just
a little this. No, it's just an observation, that's all
because I think they've got such a communication going on,
and you know, that's the that's the battery there, that's
the that's the team. They're they're a unit. I think
when a pitcher wins or closes out the World Series,
that's between you and your catcher for that moment and
(31:35):
then the rest of it. But I'll tell you what,
no one was still so great to see a minor
It was relief anyone that's ever played baseball. That is
one of the best feelings. Even as playing like playing
Rex softball as an adult, you're playing shortstop. As I
called the take to keep it yourself. Double play always
feels good like, oh, I'm just gonna keep this myself.
(31:56):
So in that moment Mookie's fielding it and he's thinking
I just won the World Series for the fourth time,
Mookie Betts, four time World Series champion, And in that
moment when he's like, oh, Kirk Slow, I got this,
step on it. Throw let's go.
Speaker 2 (32:12):
Now.
Speaker 1 (32:13):
The rest of our observations will be about the NFL
Week nine, some Halloween stuff too, but I do post
this question before we go to Mansi to wrap up
all the World Series hype, and it was great. There's
a lot of speculation Dodgers ruining baseball, saving baseball. I'll
let you know exactly what I think after Monseys with
the update. What up months?
Speaker 4 (32:34):
All right, guys, We're gonna start with a story that
I hate to tell you. Chargers standout love tackle Joel
Alt suffered a season ending ankle injury this weekend against
the Titans. So both of the Chargers starting offensive tackles
are out, you know, with Rashawn Slater.
Speaker 3 (32:50):
And Alt had just come back.
Speaker 4 (32:51):
Don't get me started. I'm injured, same high ankle, spring,
same leg everything, and the play didn't even look that
bad in comparison. You mean, I'm I'm just sad. Okay,
we're cursed. We're cursed. Commander's quarterback jad and Daniel suffered
to dislocated left elbow last night against the Seahawks. He's
out indefinitely and is gonna have an MRI to determine
the extent of the injury. Quarterback Marshall Lattimore for Washington
(33:13):
tour his ACL last night. He's out for the season.
Packers tight end Tucker Craft tour his ACL this weekend.
He is out. Texans quarterback CJ. Straw remains in concussion protocol.
He's feeling better. Head coach tomika Ryan says that they're
gonna see how he progresses throughout the week. NFL trade
deadline is tomorrow at for Eastern. The Eagles are making
more moves, are acquiring Dolphins linebacker Jalen Phillips in exchange
(33:34):
for a twenty twenty six third round draft pick. In
the NBA, Lakers will be without Luka, Doncic and Austin
Reeves tonight as they take on Portland Spurs. Guard Dylan
Harper suffered a left camf strain and is expected to
miss multiple weeks. And in baseball, Red Sox third basement
Alex Bregman, Yankees outfielder Slash first baseman Cody Bellinger and
Mets closer Edwin Diaz are some of the players opting
(33:55):
out of their contracts. They're gonna become free agents.
Speaker 1 (33:58):
Yeah, forty two days already, I know, yeah, and already
talking about next year. I hoped he has just wants
more money from the Mets. Is someone's gonna have to
take the trumpet away from mister Mett. No more Timmy trumpets,
right right, right right, Thank you min Manci. Your Pella Brie,
who works here in the editing room, one of our
(34:20):
best pals. Sure she almost got eliminated from our guillotine league.
Oh she started craft instead of brock Bowers, who had
who had a great get. She had Rock Towers on
the bench and he had won forty something fans.
Speaker 4 (34:36):
But I don't blame her. Tucker Craft has been one
of you know, what's his name, Jordan Love's favorite targets
like so far, I don't blame her, but that's rough.
Speaker 1 (34:45):
But she big looks like you know who might be
out who the guy who runs this place? Oh big mic,
But Bree was almost She almost got eliminated by not
starting rock Bowers. So that's that's wild. All right, thank
you buddy. All Right, now, Rodgers ruining baseball? Covino has thoughts.
I mean, are they saving baby? Are they ruining it? Because?
(35:05):
Oh man, their payroll and evil empire? Where are they saving?
I have thoughts the same as you. We'll get to that. Plus,
of course, all your week nine observations NFL MLB all
coming up right here, Covino and Rich. You know what
makes me go, hmmm, Donald like elite? Now? Is he
(35:27):
ad elite status? Or I mean it's playing out of
his mind?
Speaker 3 (35:31):
Call me?
Speaker 1 (35:32):
Uh, I'm wrong. As a Niners fan, I thought it
was the Rams and the Niners. Niners are banged up.
You knew the Cardinals were gonna stink, But damn Buyer Seahawks.
Speaker 3 (35:42):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (35:43):
Are they like way better than we all think well,
pause there, because we're Covino and Rich live from the
Fox Sports Radio studio and it's time for our tire
I Rack play of the day. Sam Donald was perfect
passing the ball on the first half of last night's
blow out win over the Commanders. Take a listen.
Speaker 3 (35:58):
Playfake to Walker. Donald's gonna roll.
Speaker 2 (36:00):
He's got his man. It's White breaks your tackle going
down the far sidelines. He could go, he is and
for a touchdown. Seahawks, Are you kidding me? Everybody scored
but Dave Wyman tonight.
Speaker 1 (36:14):
Whoo courtesy of the Seahawks Radio Network. That was our
tire Act Play of the Day. And as you know,
for over forty years, tire AC's been helping customers find
the right tires for how, what and where they drive,
ship fast and free back by free road hazard protection
with convenient installation options like mobile tire installation. You know,
tire act dot Com the way tire buying should be.
All right, wrapping up things that made you go hmmm,
(36:36):
taking your phone calls eight seven, seven ninety nine on
Fox and At Covino and Rich and chatting live live
chat on our YouTube page. Coveno and Rich FSR The
question is, after the World Series is over, is the
Dodgers ruining baseball? How could you say that with a
straight face after everything we just watched. We know for
(36:56):
years and years and years of experience at this point
that you can't buy champ chips. You could put all
sorts of superstars together and it doesn't guarantee you did
lea squat. It's this particular cast of characters, this team
that they constructed, the belief they have in each other,
the chemistry they built, and the way they play the game.
They may be superstars that get paid a lot of money,
(37:18):
but they played tough. Yeah, dude, when we agree, it's
fact they're saying baseball, they're bringing everybody in the only
advantage the Dodgers have that. I'm not saying it's unfair,
just the reality is that we are seeing an influx
of really good Japanese players and there is a want geography.
(37:38):
I know what I'm saying. That's a want and an
instinct to want to play closer to Asia going on
the West coast. Yes, I was saying.
Speaker 6 (37:44):
MONSI was it during Doug show that we it was
at least twenty six million people watch the World Series correct.
Speaker 3 (37:50):
So let's I.
Speaker 6 (37:51):
Don't even know if we're counting Japan and Canada. Like
the Canadian audience at least twenty six million people watch.
Speaker 1 (37:57):
How many people just just when you talk to your
com leagues at work and you're just talking to your buddies,
how many people are like, yo, that was the best
World Series I've seen in years.
Speaker 5 (38:06):
Yeah, And to put that into perspective, sixteen point four
million watched Game seven of the NBA Finals.
Speaker 1 (38:12):
Yeah, I'm listen. Baseball's popping, there's no doubt. And are
the Dodgers bad for baseball? The simple answer is the
only advantage you might have is Japanese players want to
play there because it's closer to Japan and anywhere in Asia.
But that's it, you know, tough luck, they're tough save
in baseball. They're getting people to watch, to tune in.
(38:33):
Superstars are on that team. The casual fan is like, all, guess,
it wasn't tough.
Speaker 4 (38:38):
They even peaked at thirty one point five million, and
it was tough.
Speaker 1 (38:42):
Tough biddies, as they say. But I'll say this, the
owner's step up when you want to. When people blame
the Dodgers Yankees Mets, Phillies, Blue Jays. These teams for
spending money giants. We're making it seem like the other
owners are poppers that are like, please have my bread
and soup. Like we're talking about other billionaires that just
(39:04):
aren't in a to win it, like those teams are pirates.
Is a great example. There's teams that have a great legacy,
the Baltimore Orioles, keep your players happy. Billionaires don't buy
teams if you are not in it to win it.
It's not the fault of the billionaires are in it
to win it. It's the fault of the billionaires who
use it as an investment and don't really give a
(39:25):
hell about it. That's the problem. We continue next and
last one standing Cavino and rich on Fox Sports Radio.
