Wow, today is gonna be a fun one here actionin
pack on CNR. Lots of NFL to discuss, lots of
Wan sotof that guy. Oh and fans hohoto for you.
We welcome a legend. Perhaps you guys heard of him,
Iron Mike Tyson, the real Mike Tyson. Yeah, stopping by
(00:42):
the show today, so you gotta keep it here on
Cavino on Rich, Fox Sports Radio. Yeah, not some bootleg
trivia Mike Tyson, like the real Mike Tyson will be
here in about twenty minutes, so hang tight for that
here on Fox Sports Radio. I hope you had a
chiefs Vikings, Rams, Snailers, Navarette sort of weekend Mets and
(01:03):
uh yeah, whatever about the Mets. Let's be rocking out.
Oh yes, we're broadcasting live from the Tirack dot Com
studio Tyrack dot Com. I hope you get there and
unmatched selection, fast free shipping. Free Road has a protection
over ten thousand recommended installers. Tyrack dot com the way

Speaker 2 (01:20):
And besides the NFL, Juan Sota, we're gonna be talking
about it all today, but for real, twenty minutes, the
real Mike Tyson, we'll be here on the show.
Speaker 1 (01:28):
Can't wait, can't wait? Now wait. I have to be
real like Cypress Hill. I have to be real because
I'm a funky feel one. There's no joy in Mudville today.
There's no joy for me. I'm a Yankees fan, so
you're gonna get the reaction you expect from me, like
Juan Soto, beat it, dude, lame move. I'm not feeling it.
(01:53):
I think it's corny. You can have them. I'm bitter.
You're better. Good for you. Rich is the Mets fan.
Speaker 2 (02:00):
Cavino this morning goes want soda and his corny haircut.
Speaker 1 (02:02):
He's lame anyway.
Speaker 2 (02:05):
Kavino and Yankee fans are acting like the guy who
got dumped, and he's like, I don't like that anyway.
Speaker 1 (02:11):
I'm glad he brought that up, because let's say my
girlfriend left me to be with Rich Am I supposed
to be happy for Rich giving him high fives. No
f Rich his stupid team and stupid Wan Soto. Seriously,
because the Mets, for me at this point, they are
the evil empire. They are buying championships. Because I have
to question this before we get into it. Well, I
guess you got outbid. Well is that what it was
(02:32):
all about? To flex that you're the team with the
most money in New York? Did you make this move
to prove that you could outbid the Yankees to actually
try to win? Because he's not worth that much money.
You and I know it. He's not better than Sho Haotan.
He gave me important Did he get more money than
Sho He Well, dude, he's got a set. He's the
highest paid contract of all time, seven hundred and sixty
(02:52):
five million fifteen years. The Yankees offered him seven hundred
and sixty million for sixteen years. The Yankees were in
the World Series last year. So for him, it's not
about playing for the Mets. It's not about winning with
the Mets. It's all about the bag. And if that's
the type of guy he is, good luck with him.
Why would it not be about winning in the culture
because he could have won with the Yankees. With the Mets.
(03:15):
Good luck with that. Good luck with that. The Mets
don't have a long history of winning. Last I checked,
it was eighty six. So if you want his number
up in the rafters with Tim Tuffles, good beat it. Soho.
So yeah, I'd rather have Louis Soho than want so
there you go. The bitterness is hilarious. I'm serious about it.
I think it's a lame move. But I'm the wrong
(03:37):
guy to ask. I'm a Yankees fan. Ask everybody else.
I see the feedback. Baseball's broken. You know you're the guy.
It's just a little ridiculous when you're paying this guy
that much money. Baseball is broken because it's not about winning.
It's not about winning. It's about outbidding every other team
at this point, and that makes me feel a little
(03:58):
a little sad. To be honest, I'm not happy about it.
Baseball is broken when you didn't get your guy. Had
the Yankees gotten Sodo Pintripes? Broken? Bra Bro played for
a non contending team and then decided to make a
sweet move like Shoheyo Tani. Did I understand that he
was on the Yankees. They were in the World series.
(04:20):
You like the hot girl that's like, no one leaves me?
Why would someone ever leave me? Yo? Guess what? Not
everyone wants to believe Yankie. You guys aren't the underdog
anymore either. You guys are the ones outbitting everybody. So
there's a lot of pressure on the Mets. Let's see
if they can keep up with it. So, like I said,
the analogy here is, why would I be happy about it?
I'm not. That's a better question for everybody else. I'm
a Yankees fan eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox.
(04:43):
We'll get to all your thoughts, but Danny g your thoughts,
Dan Bayer, Iowa Sam before Mike Tyson gets here dayson,
can't wait your initial thoughts. I wasn't surprised, but I
was disgusted. Disgusted, Yeah, because it shows you what it's
really all about, these pro loyal.
Speaker 3 (05:01):
Well I immediately thought of the Thanksgiving Dan Patrick show
where you two ganged up on me and called the
Dodgers the new evil Empire?
Speaker 1 (05:09):
Right, I think they still? Are you really?
Speaker 2 (05:11):
So?
Speaker 4 (05:11):
I mean.
Speaker 3 (05:13):
The Mets aren't because you said the die and I
quote the Dodgers are buying championships, so the Mets are too, then, right.
Speaker 1 (05:19):
I mean everyone's trying to buy a championship.
Speaker 3 (05:21):
Well that's what I said, and you said that doesn't
make it okay? Yeah, but now that your Mets got him,
it's okay.
Speaker 1 (05:26):
Well what makes it sort of like bl is how
blatant it is though. It's like, you know, it's so
blatant that he's chasing the bag that like it hurts
me as a sports fan, as a baseball fan, because
it's like there really is no loyalty and we know
that as fans, right, it is all about the money,
But it's so blatant here that it leaves just the
bad taste in my mouth again as a Yankees fan,
(05:46):
So why are you acting like the Mets don't have
a good culture.
Speaker 2 (05:48):
Since Steve Cohen owned the team, players say that he
treats the families.
Speaker 1 (05:53):
Yeah, great culture. The fans abandoned him the second they
lose and it was May and you said you were
done with the season. Great culture.
Speaker 2 (05:59):
The culture under Steve con is different, Lindor. There's a
lot of Latino players that he's tight with, you know,
his relationship with Francisco why is it so hard so
he did.
Speaker 1 (06:08):
It to play with Latino players. I find that hard
to believe. It's all about the money. We know that,
and the fact that it's just so blatantly obvious is
what's weak about it.
Speaker 5 (06:17):
I just thought it was such a kick in the
nuts to the Yankees. I don't know if I can
even say that. I meant to say, you know what,
he just said it to me, But I said it,
and I meant it. That was my first reaction because
it's not like, you know what, I prefer to live
in southern California or I've got family in this place.
It's I'm gonna be in the same city. I'm just
going over here. Yeah, because they're paying no more. That's
(06:38):
really it. Yeah, that's it's a simple culture. Give me
a break, the culture meaning.
Speaker 1 (06:43):
Me the same Latino fans that are in New York City,
like he just said. And man, I have so many
thoughts about this and about Wan Soto, but we got
to make room for Mike Tyson too. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (06:57):
I mean he's gonna be hear it a little bit.
So Wan Soo to the Mets to knock out punch
of the Yankees. Yeah, but is that really what it's
all about. Do you know what I hate to Here's
what I hate. I hate the baseball fan that says.
Speaker 1 (07:14):
Uh, you know, too much money. I wouldn't have done
all that.
Speaker 2 (07:17):
And my answer to that is simply, it's like when
you get something nice, you buy a house, a condo,
a car, there's always some BRONI that's like, oh, that's
the call you got.
Speaker 1 (07:26):
I've heard there's problems with that. Oh you got a pool.
Oh good luck with the problems that come along with that.
It's like, how about you just happy for the cool
thing you got. Want something? If I wasn't a Yankees fan,
I'd be happy for you rich as a Mets fan.
But like Dan said, it's a slap in the face.
And here's why too. Here's what's really gross about it
is the Yankees knew they had him for one year, right,
so you know they went out of their way to
(07:47):
stroke this guy, to cater to him, to kiss his ass.
Speaker 2 (07:52):
You know, the Aaron Judge and Glabor Tours and all
those dudes were doing everything they could to ensure management,
coaching everybody, to ensure that he had a great experience
there to keep him again and still he went with him.
I'm excited to hear what Soto has to say when
he does talk about why he chose the Mets. Now,
we all know that we love taking the show on
the road. We love football, we love baseball, we love
it all. We love to travel and do the show live.
(08:15):
And when we're in those college towns, you know we're
staying at Graduate by Hilton.
Speaker 1 (08:18):
You gotta do Graduate. Their hotels are made for fans,
and we just stayed at their new one in Auburn, Alabama.
It was amazing. It was a game day, game day
every day there, but beautiful experience every hotel, beautiful women.
Speaker 2 (08:32):
You gotta check out Graduate. We've been to five of
their locations now. They're all unique. The one in Eugene
had like a sneaker anthem, Vibe Sneaker motif. Yeah, because
Nike's right over there. Nashville had this whole Dolly part
and Vibe. Auburn was like a tribute to Bo Jackson.
So all about Graduate hotels and right now stays up
to twenty percent.
Speaker 1 (08:52):
Off twenty percent off right now at participating graduates. So
go to Graduate by Hilton dot com. Check out all
their locations in book your's day and let me see
it again. Up to twenty percent off your stay when
you book by January fifth, go to Graduate by Hilton
dot com. Now, in a little bit we.
Speaker 2 (09:07):
Are going to be joined by Mike Tyson, so uh,
do not leave. I promise you it's gonna be a
lot of fun. We haven't had Mike on in a
couple of years. So last time I saw Mike true
true story, he gave me a little gift bag and
it had his edible ears in them. They're not his
edible ears, they're Holy Fields edible ears. Yeah, I mean,
what is a Tyson two point zero? We're gonna talk
about that because I thought they were fantastic, to be honest.
Speaker 3 (09:31):
Yeah, And we told him all about how we do
Iron Mike trivia on the show.
Speaker 1 (09:35):
What did he say?
Speaker 2 (09:36):
Oh, I forget like I hope you do me just
like that. I do my best Mike. So we'll have
Iron Mike here in about five to ten minutes. But Soto,
I think all you're seeing online is jealousy from other teams.
And I could see where Yankee fans are bumped. It's
(09:57):
it is like they got dumped. So if you don't
like my reaction. Your expectations are off. No, you expect
me to be happy about it. I expect you to
be med. But they're saying Soto joins the ranks of
the most hated players by Yankees fans. They're saying he
might be able to Manny and Pedro and he may
enter those ranks, and that makes it exciting. I will
agree with that makes it an interesting storyline. I will
(10:20):
say that he made a very heel decision, so he's
gonna get a very heel response.
Speaker 1 (10:25):
Heal deseasion.
Speaker 2 (10:26):
Yeah, you know, I know it's hard for you to believe,
because it's like when you get dumped. Your first instinct
every time you get dumped is what bro you think
that guy is better than me. It's hard for you
to think that maybe the Cohens and the Mets, well
they don't have the legacy of the Yankees. Maybe they
(10:47):
do treat the teams and the players and the families
the right way. Maybe he gets along with that group
of Mets. Maybe they had they had a magical season
rich yet last year. I'll give you all that grimace
and OMG, but that's where it ends. Still got to
get past the Dodgers, past the Phillies. It's not happening.
NL is way tougher than the AL I get this,
but it is hard for a Yankees fan. I get
(11:09):
it to understand that there might be a reason why
someone would choose a team other than them.
Speaker 1 (11:14):
And it's called money. Dude, you act like it's it's
lindor get out of here. The door is very persuasive.
The door is very persuasive.
Speaker 2 (11:24):
Coming up within ten minutes, Mike Tyson gonna be on
the show. I can't wait to talk to him about
everything from punch out to his butt cheeks to what's
next to ayahuasca and licking toads and everything.
Speaker 1 (11:37):
So a lot of fun.
Speaker 2 (11:39):
We'll sit down with Iron mic We're gonna be doing
it live with Iron Mike within ten minutes right here
on Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 1 (11:45):

Welcome back to the Cavino and Rich Show on Fox
Sports Radio, Live from the ti Raq dot com studio.
And I'm not gonna make the man wait, nah, the legend,
the legend. Let's welcome with glory and renowned iron Mike Tyson.
Speaker 4 (13:04):
But Mike, they gotta be nuts.
Speaker 6 (13:07):
Okay, now you're.
Speaker 1 (13:08):
Nuts, Mike, You're nuts.
Speaker 6 (13:09):
Man.
Speaker 2 (13:09):
Y'all we're obviously huge fans, and uh, I don't know
the most intriguing man in the world, Mike Tyson on
the show.
Speaker 1 (13:15):
Most interesting man on the planet. It's a pleasure to
be hanging with you. I'm great to see you again.
So Mike, let's get right into it.
Speaker 4 (13:22):
Man.
Speaker 1 (13:23):
Not many people could break the Internet with their butt cheeks,
but you did. How did it make you feel? Man?
Tell us about that moment.
Speaker 6 (13:31):
Hey, colevision had really changed, but that became a big thing.
That's just so ridiculous.
Speaker 1 (13:38):
Did you expect that to be even a little story
when the fight was over?
Speaker 4 (13:43):
That's I've looked. I've been that way my whole career.
My butt been shown on took a picture of it.
Speaker 1 (13:50):
Hey, did you ever think, well, maybe it's just better
than ever? Because it seemed like the whole world was
taken by it.
Speaker 6 (13:55):
Hey, man, I guess so I don't look the new
time ever.
Speaker 4 (13:59):
Mike.
Speaker 2 (14:00):
As we signed on here to see you, you lit
up Tyson two point oh. Last time we saw you
in Vegas, you handed me a bag of your mic bites.
Speaker 1 (14:07):
The edibles fantastic I love them.
Speaker 2 (14:11):
Yeah, I gotta tell you. I see Aaron Rodgers doing ayahuasca.
You were smoking toad venom, You got Tyson two point zero.
Tell us what we got to be trying? And what
do you recommend for a guy that's open to this?
Speaker 6 (14:24):
Hey, I recommend you try everything.
Speaker 1 (14:26):
Yeah, open your mind though.
Speaker 6 (14:28):
You try everything. Yeah?
Speaker 1 (14:30):
What would you say? You've learned from your experiences with
toad venom and all your experiences that death.
Speaker 6 (14:38):
Is beautiful and defin is nothing to be afraid of.
Speaker 1 (14:42):
Is that why you're willing to leave it all in
the ring?
Speaker 6 (14:45):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (14:45):
I think that's just my personality, but that what I loved, well, mom,
all of this medicine was not to be.
Speaker 6 (14:52):
Afraid of that.
Speaker 1 (14:53):
You know, that's kind of an interesting statement because a
lot of us think about those things right before we're
going to sleep, right, some deeper stuff. If you're not
afraid of things like that, Mike, from your experiences, what
do you think about before you go to bed? What
sort of stuff runs to your mind?
Speaker 4 (15:07):
Listen, I don't think about always trying to be the
best that could possibly be the best me that could
be before a little bed.
Speaker 1 (15:15):
Well, you're a great dad. We know that you're a
great family man. Congrats on your beautiful family. We saw
your family on the Netflix special. We saw your daughter
is a great tennis player. We saw you there supporting
your daughter. Is there any other sport Mike Tyson could
have competed in besides boxing?
Speaker 4 (15:32):
I don't know. I would like to try tennis. Well,
do you ever tennis fans over here?
Speaker 1 (15:37):
Are you any good? Have you tried or no?
Speaker 6 (15:39):
So I tried to hit the ball before it went
so far in the air.
Speaker 2 (15:43):
Oh, man, imagine Mike in the eighties wearing those little
John McEnroe shorts.
Speaker 6 (15:47):
Yeah, like me playing baseball with a tennis bracket. No.
Speaker 1 (15:51):
But you're such a disciplined guy, right, And you could
be great at anything you put your mind to. You
showed that in boxing. Do you think there's another sport
you could have been a profession if you dedicated yourself
to that.
Speaker 6 (16:02):
Yeah, I had no idea about that.
Speaker 1 (16:03):
No, just boxing.
Speaker 6 (16:05):
Well I knew is boxing?
Speaker 2 (16:07):
Yeah, Mike, I'm a big Mets fan and I there's
a classic picture of you in the eighties with Darryl
Strawberry and Doc Goodin, and you know, at the at
the height of what they were doing and what you
were doing. What athletes now are you intrigued by? Like,
who are you following in the boxing world, NBA football?
There other athletes you keep your eye on.
Speaker 6 (16:25):
I'm just I'm just a guy chilling out. I'm not
much of it.
Speaker 4 (16:30):
I don't watch sports much besides tennis. I don't know.
I is most of the most of the guys that
played for that. I know if the athletes are friend
of mine, they don't blame anymore.
Speaker 1 (16:42):
So we got to talk about the fight. Mike Tyson's
here on the Cavino and Rich Show. What do you
have to say to all the critics who say you
held back on punches? There was a lot of viral clips.
What do you have to say to the critics that
brought that up?
Speaker 4 (16:57):
Oh? No, I don't remember to fight that much. I'm
kind of.
Speaker 1 (17:01):
Did you watch it back or anything?
Speaker 6 (17:02):
Or no, I We'll watch the fight. No, I had not.
Speaker 1 (17:05):
Okay, so there was a lot of casual fans. First,
I want to thank you again for bringing people together.
It was like the nineties all over again. We got
together with friends, We had a great night. It was
highly entertaining. But then, of course clips go viral a
lot of casual fans speculating there's a few clips where
like you're holding back a right hand punch, in my
opinion as a fan, to not be exposed so that
(17:26):
you don't get hit. Is that what was happening in
that clip? Or you don't even know?
Speaker 4 (17:31):
I was just let's know what I remember, No, well,
coming back from the first round, and then the next day,
I remember Jacob doing some kind of I.
Speaker 6 (17:39):
Don't know what was he doing after?
Speaker 1 (17:41):
Oh yeah, it'll bow last.
Speaker 4 (17:43):
I remember, dude.
Speaker 1 (17:45):
There was a lot of people online that said that's
when you should have hit him, when he was bound
down like that, that's.
Speaker 6 (17:49):
Why get married.
Speaker 4 (17:51):
I was like, what the hell was he doing?
Speaker 1 (17:53):
So it went that quick for you? Yeah, Mike, I
was kai.
Speaker 6 (17:57):
I was a sweaty. I went to a hotel.
Speaker 4 (18:01):
No, I went to the house that we stayed in and
I left the house, name, my wife, my kid. They
we went to the after party, then we came back.
Speaker 1 (18:08):
So for us, right, it was two minute rounds and
it felt really quick. For us, We're like, dang, we
wanted more. Is there anything about the fight you would
have changed based on the experience?
Speaker 6 (18:19):
Oh? I know, I listen. I wouldn't have realized any
of it if it went three minute round. I didn't
realize that question.
Speaker 2 (18:27):
You come down to the ring solo. I can only
imagine there were people that wanted to come down to
the ring with you. Who wanted to come down to
the ring, And why did you choose to have no
one with you?
Speaker 4 (18:38):
Hey, listen, someone you said, Mike, is your time to
come out? And I just came out.
Speaker 6 (18:42):
Nobody I was.
Speaker 1 (18:45):
I would assume anyone wanted to come. I would assume
there was there was celebrity, celebrities, you know, colleagues, you
know friends of yours that wanted to be out there,
but you did it. We were rooting for you, man,
pulling for you so hard. And I know you often
say we're fans Mike, you don't care about ego and legacy,
But after something like that, do you think it adds
to your legacy? How do you think you're viewed after
(19:08):
this fight?
Speaker 6 (19:09):
Wow? I never thought about that, you know. But the
day after the fight, right after the day after.
Speaker 4 (19:14):
I woke, I told my wife, why did I do that?
I don't know, I don't know what the hell go go?
Speaker 1 (19:20):
And what was her response, like what was your family's
response to everything?
Speaker 6 (19:25):
They was just supporting me.
Speaker 1 (19:27):
I can only imagine.
Speaker 2 (19:28):
I So we saw your great relationship with your daughter,
like have you don't said on the Netflix special?
Speaker 1 (19:32):
And by the way, Mike, are you're brushing your teeth.
Speaker 6 (19:34):
More net or what working on it? Well?
Speaker 2 (19:37):
Okay, okay, I saw the great relationship you had as
a dad and daughter. Was it cool for your family
to see that the public rallied around you so much
all these years later? I feel like everyone I knew
was just like, come on, let's go, mikebody, you had
the world behind you. Is that a cool feeling to
know you still had it in your family to see that.
Speaker 6 (19:55):
I'm so happy.
Speaker 4 (19:56):
I am happy my family for that. But we don't
know me go around and talk about me fighting and stuff.
I say, I'm a fight and then they say, you know,
Dad's gonna fight.
Speaker 1 (20:06):
Right, So that was like a different side of them
of you for yours like.
Speaker 4 (20:12):
A party for the like going out but numbers that, Yeah,
Daddy's gonna fight.
Speaker 1 (20:15):
It was a party for everybody. Man Rich and I
were buddies in Miami rooting you on. Now, there's been
a lot of rumors since the fight Are there any
rumors you'd like to clear up or is there any
truth to any of the rumors? Is there anything you
want to share with the Fox Sports Radio Nation about
what's next?
Speaker 4 (20:31):
Real fight?
Speaker 1 (20:33):
Yeah, it was a real fight. What did you think
of Jake's power man when you were in there?
Speaker 6 (20:37):
I don't remember it.
Speaker 1 (20:39):
You don't, You didn't even remember it?
Speaker 6 (20:41):
I heard, but my body was really sore.
Speaker 1 (20:44):
It was sore the next day.
Speaker 6 (20:45):
Yeah, my body, my chest and my stomach and stuff
was really sore.
Speaker 1 (20:49):
Well, dude, you were You were in great shape. You
still look great, Mike. Mike Tyson on the Coveno on
Rich Show, Speaking of rumors, there was a rumor today
that one of your buddies that you fought not too
long ago, Roy Jones Junior said that he wants to
maybe test it out with Jake Paul and test Jake
Paul's chin. He's fifty five years old. You think that
Roy Jones Junior can handle something like that? You were
(21:10):
just there.
Speaker 6 (21:11):
He's bast enough, though.
Speaker 4 (21:12):
Yeah, if Roy's training, Roy could still do a lot
of stuff.
Speaker 6 (21:16):
He got to be training though. They have to be.
Speaker 1 (21:19):
Training now, Mike, much as hard he does. I know
he's a big dude man. So well, you know years
ago you talked about the fighting guts, right, you didn't
have the fighting guts years ago to continue going on.
So what inspired you at fifty eight to do it finally?
Speaker 4 (21:40):
I don't know. Just yeah, let's fight, Jake, you know,
we were talking, were talking about it for a years.
Speaker 1 (21:47):
Let's do it just for the fun of it, for
the excitement of it, and to be part of history.
Speaker 2 (21:52):
I mean, and I'm sure Mike, the Payday sort of
helped out a little bit, too, right, I mean, it's
it was no, oh no.
Speaker 4 (21:58):
This is that payday and a change my lifestyle at all?
Speaker 1 (22:02):
Well, I see is that your house right there? You're
living in a beautiful place. It looks like you're living
large right now.
Speaker 4 (22:10):
Them very fortunate, Yes, thank god, a lot of wife
bo Mike.
Speaker 2 (22:15):
Of all of all the pop culture moments you brought us,
you know, for for guys that are in our age range,
the fight you delivered, Mike Tyson's punch out, the Hangover?
What are you most shocked by the people remember?
Speaker 1 (22:27):
Is it the cameo on the Hangover? Is it the
video game?
Speaker 2 (22:29):
Like what do you shock? That was as popular as
it was with your legacy.
Speaker 6 (22:34):
Well, I think it's gould be the ath now.
Speaker 1 (22:36):
But the Tyson butts, Yo, Mike, you should come out
with an edible Tyson's butt cheeks right so that people
could eat it. I like that Tyson's cheeks, sweet cheek,
Tyson's sweet cheeks. I can see you now.
Speaker 6 (22:54):
You know what.
Speaker 1 (22:54):
Rich will be the first to eat them. Rich probably
wants to eat them right now. Rich loves him. You
gotta give me like a little small percentage, Mike. It's
my idea. And you know, we talked to Mike years ago.
He said he never Mike, you said you never played
the video game. You never played Tyson's punch Out. Ever,
that's what you told us years ago.
Speaker 4 (23:13):
Commercials. I wasn't in the games back then, ahead of
my time.
Speaker 1 (23:18):
Well, I don't know if you're into games now. But
my next question was what does Mike Tyson do to
keep himself happy? Obviously, you have a beautiful family. What
brings you the most happiness? Now, you had a lot
of fun at that fight.
Speaker 4 (23:30):
It was fun for you about it is what we
were talking about. That fight was such a bigger sin
that we were so up and high, we were so
the fight a boom.
Speaker 6 (23:40):
Wow, I'm kind of depressed a little bit.
Speaker 4 (23:42):
You know, you gotta get back in our living situation,
back to living what we know because we fight.
Speaker 6 (23:48):
We're training for a nine months.
Speaker 2 (23:50):
Mike, I saw on the docu series on Netflix that
you were saying, no matter where you go, wherever you go,
people want to say hi to Mike Tyson. And you
said your wife said that if that wasn't the case,
you'd hate it. Do you do you go anywhere where
someone doesn't recognize you?
Speaker 6 (24:07):
No?
Speaker 4 (24:08):
No, Yeah, I think my wife said, I probably lose
my mind the way they didn't know me.
Speaker 1 (24:13):
Yeah, it's got to be fun to be by Tyson.
Speaker 6 (24:16):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (24:17):
What is it like, Mike? Do you go grocery shopping
on your own? I mean, you're probably the most recognizable
guy on the planet.
Speaker 6 (24:23):
I do every dow on my own.
Speaker 4 (24:24):
I would run into a store real quick and buy
something come out.
Speaker 6 (24:28):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (24:28):
Are you immune to people's reaction because everywhere you go?
Like I remember this is years ago. I was on
West fifty seventh Street in New York City and I
saw Muhammad Ali walking down the street. But what I
noticed first was everybody standing still just watching him, like,
oh my goodness, this is Muhammad Ali walking down the street.
Do you notice people staring at you? And because that's
(24:49):
a thrill for anybody wherever you are.
Speaker 4 (24:52):
Hey, listen, Yeah, I had to go to the police
station to lift my probation off to know I would
leave in town.
Speaker 6 (24:57):
All the police were looking at me like why ah see.
Speaker 1 (25:01):
It's got to feel great, man. That's the legacy that
we're talking about. That's important to us because we're such fans.
Speaker 2 (25:07):
Mike because of Tyson two point zero. I feel like
people that smoke weed or enjoy that culture. As Mike
lights up right now, Yeah, people say, oh, I want
to smoke with Snoop Dogg or Willie Nelson.
Speaker 1 (25:18):
Is Mike Tyson now on that list of celebrities people
want to smoke with. Do people come up to you.
Speaker 4 (25:24):
I'm not too exciting when I'm smoking, you know. Snooping
pretty exciting and animated when he's smoking. But it's good
to be around him.
Speaker 2 (25:31):
Are you just you just chill? You more like a
sink into the couch and get all deep.
Speaker 4 (25:36):
Oh I'm just a listener.
Speaker 1 (25:38):
I like to who's the coolest guy you smoked with?
Your favorite guy you smoked with? Or woman.
Speaker 4 (25:43):
Is nobody cooler than Snoop?
Speaker 1 (25:46):
Yeah, that's gotta be an experience. Hey, what would have happened?
We were at your ranch one time, right and you
were smoking out at your ranch. We were just so
happy to be there, just taking it all in. But
there was a part of us sort of wanted to
join in a little circle just to say we smoked
with you. Would that have been overstepping if we jumped.
Speaker 6 (26:06):
Into oh that's what you did, smoke.
Speaker 1 (26:10):
Holy Blue the opportunity because we want to. Yeah, we
kind of wanted to. Hey, Mike, we saw you another
time in Vegas. You were doing your podcast. Tell us
about like that journey that venture. Do you like broadcasting?
Do you like doing podcasting?
Speaker 6 (26:28):
This is something that's funny. My wife got me into
this stuff.
Speaker 4 (26:32):
Yeah, I'm not that crazy, but I don't love it
love it crazy, but I'm very good at it.
Speaker 1 (26:37):
Yes, I was just gonna say that, and your your
one man's show, Like, are we gonna see more of that?
Because you said it? You have the post fight blues
right now, right, So what is that next thing you're
gonna dive into? Man, otherwise you're gonna get bored.
Speaker 4 (26:51):
Well, we're working on that right now, we do it
all my new shows coming out nextflick.
Speaker 1 (26:57):
Yeah, because you are. You're great at it, man, and
so even if you don't like it for your fans,
I think you gotta do it now.
Speaker 2 (27:05):
I feel like, Mike, what about because I feel like
when I see the podcast you love to have deep conversations.
Have you ever thought about just sitting down with other
fighters and celebrities and having like deep conversations.
Speaker 1 (27:15):
Is that sort of what what a TV show might be?
Speaker 4 (27:18):
Not necessarily the deep conversation, but it's explaining to somebody
that what's your existence?
Speaker 6 (27:24):
Who you are?
Speaker 2 (27:26):
Hey, Mike, you ever sit down with Neil deGrasse Tyson?
I feel like the other Tyson. I mean, that guy's
pretty deep.
Speaker 6 (27:31):
You know that something else isn't they?
Speaker 1 (27:34):
Yeah, Tyson and Tyson. That's a good show, Tyson and Tyson. Hey, Mike,
I know one of your heroes growing up was Roberto Durant, Right, Yeah, Now,
from today's perspective, these one thirty five guys, do you
think any of those dudes have the same fighting guts
like of the Devin Haynes, Tank Davis's, Ryan Garcia's, Tia
(27:55):
Fimo's of that.
Speaker 4 (27:57):
We can't overlook those guys. Those guys have a tough guy.
They're just for different errors.
Speaker 1 (28:03):
Yeah, do you have a favorite of all those young guys?
You keep your ear to that a little bit or
just heavyweights?
Speaker 4 (28:09):
No, they're all it's the station too. I think Ryan
and Devoni should fight again.
Speaker 1 (28:14):
Yeah, I agree with that.
Speaker 6 (28:16):
That was a good fight. Man, that was a good one.
Speaker 1 (28:19):
Do you still make a night of it? Let's say
there's a big fight coming up, right, what's it like
for you? How do you enjoy the fight? Because you
gave us all these opportunities, all these memories. You sold
us on boxing in the nineties. For me, it was
Julio S. Sarchavez, Mike Tyson. You know, you'd get a
pay per view, you'd have friends and family over. What's
that like? If there's a good fight and you're interested,
(28:39):
how do you party? Do you invite people over your house?
Do you?
Speaker 4 (28:42):
I try to go to the fight if possible, but
we did not going to the fight.
Speaker 6 (28:46):
People just come over the house as I go over
the one house.
Speaker 2 (28:50):
Mike, I've seen you at fights where when they put
you on the big screen, you get the biggest applause
of all. Does that make you feel good because it's
got to right. They go around the crowd when they
go to Mike Tyson, the crowd goes nuts. Is that
is that the respect you feel, uh, you've earned over
the years.
Speaker 4 (29:05):
Hey, I'm just very grateful, that's all. I'm very I'm
becoming familiar with the acting gratitude.
Speaker 1 (29:13):
You know, we were talking about other fights. You got
fury Usik coming up at the end of the month,
the rematch fury Usik too. Any thoughts on that because
I know you have connections with Tyson.
Speaker 6 (29:28):
Fury won that fight. He wasn't playing around early in
the fight.
Speaker 1 (29:32):
I agree that fight. So do you think he's got
the second one?
Speaker 6 (29:37):
I want him to have. I want him to be
serious enough.
Speaker 1 (29:39):
You know, I know you like him. But how did
you get in Ganu's corner against him? I always thought
that was interesting too, because Fury looks up to you
so much. Did you feel bad going against him?
Speaker 6 (29:50):
I don't even know how that happened, but it happened.
I don't know how the hell that happened.
Speaker 2 (29:57):
Well, Mike uh Tyson two point zero Mike Tyson dot com.
People could uh support all the stuff you're doing? Any
of any other stuff, any other stuff going on right now?
You got the Netflix thing in the works.
Speaker 4 (30:09):
Yeah, I'm doing the Netflix One Man's Show, and I'm
gonna start doing movie again.
Speaker 6 (30:14):
You know, God willing, you know the sky the limits. Nice.
Speaker 2 (30:18):
Well, the next time we're in Vegas, hopefully bump into
you and we could take you up on that.
Speaker 1 (30:21):
Uh, maybe have some mic bites together, some edibles. No
sweet cheeks, Mike sweet Mike sweet cheeks. And then the
tagline is everybody's eating them. Oh god, I'm trying to
get in on that. Mike. We'll see you in Vegas.
Speaker 6 (30:39):
I'll hang man, Let's help get this guy some money.
Speaker 1 (30:43):
Thank you. Hey, Mike, I want to thank you for everything.
Congrats on your career, on being a better person. Thank you,
thank you for your time. Just thank you and thanks
with all the joy you brought us.
Speaker 6 (30:53):
Mike.
Speaker 4 (30:54):
Thank you. Guys.
Speaker 2 (30:56):
Have a great one. Mike Tyson. Mike Tyson, I'm telling
you you're out of Vegas. I'm taking him.
Speaker 1 (31:03):
Up on it this time. That is cool to know, though.
Here's the thing. It's Mike Tyson right, larger than life,
grew up invincible, rooting for the guy you're interviewing, your
you're at his ranch, you feel like you're overstepping, jumping
in to smoke. I'm not some big pothead guy. I
don't know, but you want to see it did.
Speaker 2 (31:23):
But it's like if you see Snoop or Willie Nelson
or Mike Tyson, there's a party that wants to be
like I want to do it for the story exactly,
and just to have that bonding moment with the legend.
Speaker 1 (31:33):
But you don't want to overstep. You don't want to
get mean mugged by Mike Tyson. But and you never
know what sort of mood Mike Tyson's in, and I
could relate to that is this I'm actually in a
really bad mood because of Wan Soto, but Mike Tyson
put a nice smile on my face. Today is today.
Speaker 2 (31:49):
Today we saw Cavino Official become business partners with Mike
Mike Sweet cheeks, Mike Sweet She happened organically too, man.
Speaker 1 (31:55):
I love that. And what's the tagline? Everybody's eating him?
That's gonna damn yer for an update, dB, thanks for
hanging for Tyson.
Speaker 6 (32:05):
Every Ye.
Speaker 1 (32:05):
That fella's tough fact to follow.
Speaker 5 (32:07):
But I can't let you know this richer forty nine
Ers have a big game against the Rams coming up
on Thursday. Running Back Isaac Grendo, as a footsprain, did
not practice today. Now, the Niners didn't hold a practice,
but coach Kyle Shanahan said that he wouldn't have been
on the field even if they did have the workout. Again,
that comes up on Thursday.
Speaker 1 (32:23):
So maybe I'm sorry to Troup.
Speaker 2 (32:25):
I feel bad for Grendo because with Mason Downey McCaffrey down,
this is an opportunity for him to show everyone what
he's got, and that's that's when you don't want to
get hurt.
Speaker 7 (32:33):
Man.
Speaker 1 (32:33):
He's the third string getting a real shot.
Speaker 5 (32:36):
Yeah, now I've been argued fourth string because of Elijah
Mitchell's injury. Yeah, right at the beginning of the year.
But we'll see what the forty nine ers do again.
It's a short week week fourteen NS tonight with the
Bengals and Cowboys from Arlington. Next week there's a Monday
night doubleheader that includes the Falcons taking on Danny G's Raiders.
Raiders got good news on Aidan O'Connell, just a bone
(32:57):
bruise in his knee had to be carted off of
yesterday's game against the Buccaneers with the injury, but head
coach Antonio Pierce would not rule him out four week fifteen.
If he can't go, Desmond Ritter would start against Atlanta
a week from today. Derek Carr's in concussion protocol, and
the scenes quarterback is also dealing with a left hand
injury that won't require surgery. According to the interim head coach
Darren Rizzy, the team will not place Car un injured reserve,
(33:20):
basically calling him week to week. Panther's running back Jonathan
Brooks done for the year with a torneycl the same
ACL de de tour. While he was in college at Texas,
Bill Belichick told the Pat mcavee's show that if he
was to coach in college, he developed the program as
a pipeline to the NFL.
Speaker 8 (33:35):
It seems like college football is more like pro football.
I've talked to a lot of college coaches about things
like the salary cap and putting value on players and
negotiating and kind of mixing all that together. So I
think there are some similarities from what I've heard, I
haven't experience at first hand.
Speaker 5 (33:50):
Heisman Trophy finalists will be announced coming up between six
thirty and seven o'clock Eastern time.
Speaker 6 (33:55):
Guys.
Speaker 2 (33:55):
Back to you, Hey, Dan Byer, I thought of you.
You're well more versed in college football than I am.
Big talk Sunday morning when I was playing softball with
my buddies, Georgia being left out, I'm not true Alabama
being left out. Do you agree with the decision or
what it was? I feel like it was fifty to
fifty amongst my buddies.
Speaker 5 (34:11):
Yeah, ultimately, I feel that they probably should have been in.
I have just said all along. I don't think we
look at the wins. We look at their losses, and
so SMU had fewer losses. Yeah, but you know who
did SMU all beat? And I felt that Alabama had
a bit of a better resume on the win side
of things.
Speaker 2 (34:30):
Well, when you think about teams that I was looking
at it this way, I get it. Teams have to
be in based on criteria, But there are teams that
are left out that you know would beat teams that
are in.
Speaker 1 (34:41):
We think, and you think, and if that's the case,
then is the wrong team in?
Speaker 5 (34:45):
So I just yeah, it's that's a dangerous game to play, right, Yeah.
Speaker 1 (34:49):
Of course, Thank you dB. I appreciate you ALWAYSDB and
big thanks again to Mike Tyson Tyson two point zero
Mike Tyson dot com. We're live from the tiraq dot
com studio and we got more Cavino and Richard, Fox
Sports Radio, more Soto, more NFL.
Speaker 7 (35:02):
Hang tight, Hey, listen is Mike Tyson. You're listening to
the Coveno and Rich Show. Covenoing Rich Show. You're listening
to the Coveno and Rich Show, The Coveno and Rich Show,
The Coveno and Rich, the swab Latino brother with the smooth, educated,
(35:22):
rich white guy.
Speaker 2 (35:23):
I'm sad I'll be that rich white guy if I
get in on Tyson's cheek bites your new.
Speaker 1 (35:30):
Product, that'd be great, man. I'll tell you. On a
personal note, we've interviewed Mike a few times, but that fun.
It's so fun. It's like a roller coaster ride. Like
what a high that is because he really is a
wild dude and a legend and who's not a fan
of everything Mike Tyson says. So it's just on a
personal and you're like, man, that just happens.
Speaker 2 (35:50):
It's intrigging. Let me let me take everyone behind the scenes.
We've done this and this is no break. We've done
a lot of interviews with athletes musicians over the years,
usually pretty standard.
Speaker 1 (36:02):
With Mike Tyson, you almost have to gauge his mood. Yeah,
is he high? Is he not?
Speaker 2 (36:06):
Is he gonna play into your jokes? And then it
takes him a second to warm up Like it is.
It is a wild.
Speaker 1 (36:12):
Experience to hang or talk with Mike Tyson anytime. It
really is, and you will see on the clips later
on again, more reason to follow Fox Sports Radio's YouTube page.
Follow us at Covino and Rich at Fox Sports Radio.
You'll see he was lighting up during the whole interview,
having fun with it. So again thanks to Mike Tyson
dot com Tyson two point zero Iron Mike on the show.
(36:33):
If you missed it, catch it on the podcast again.
We're Covino and Rich live from the tiraq dot com
studio and aside from Mike Tyson, uh, I'm glad we
cleared up some of the rumors too. Yep, want Soto
is everything today? It really is. I know there's some
great college football, there's some great NFL. It's a good
game tonight, Not really, but we're watching I.
Speaker 2 (36:52):
Mean a game that when the season schedule maker put
it together, he probably thought Cowboys Bengals, Monday Night Football.
They were probably thinking like Paul gold Baby gold Deck
versus Burrow Week fourteen.
Speaker 1 (37:06):
Man precisely. But really, whether you like baseball or not,
it is very clear that the Wan Soto story is
the biggest story in sports today. I don't care how
you how much you love football or basketball college football.
Wan Soto, the highest paid athlete in all of sports,
is the biggest story. And man, let me ask hi,
(37:30):
I'm mad about it. I'm really disappointed. I am. I'm
very bitter. What you're getting is the real reaction of
a Yankees fan. So I appreciate that. Yeah, I'm saying
that I got dumb. Would you expect me to come
in and be excited for the Mets today this morning?
Cavino goes, yeah, so in a stupid head, like a
stupid face. Ye, no, No. And what really tripped my
(37:52):
feelings is all the relationships he probably made with the
Yankees in the past year, and how out of their
way management and his teammates and the Steinbrenners and the
fans went. Everybody went out of their way to kiss
his ass the entire season for him to just take
really what five million more? When all said and done.
(38:15):
I have a question, what if when want Soto? Well,
when all said and done, he's clearing over eight hundred million.
Speaker 2 (38:19):
Well, when he's you know, introduced as a Met press
conference the whole deal, would it change your mind at all?
I know you're gonna be mad and bitter. I would
be too if I was a Yankees fan. But would
it change your.
Speaker 1 (38:32):
Mind at all?
Speaker 2 (38:32):
If he gave a real reason, like, hey, listen, Steve
Cohen and the way the organization worked and how they
made my family feel, and the vision A has based on.
Speaker 1 (38:41):
What a few meetings he played a full year. If
he's honest and says because there's no way he can
make that assessment, that's bs bs barakats what he said
rubbed him the wrong way, or he didn't like the
Yankee way. If he because he was there for a year,
that would then make more sense. If you're gonna be honest,
don't give me the bs about the Mets. Did this?
(39:01):
Mets did that? You have no experience with them, You
just spent the whole year. Tell me how the Yankees
dropped the ball. Tell me that I want to know that.
But what if what if.
Speaker 2 (39:11):
He's never gonna say it, But what if the reality was, yes, yes,
the Yankees did up the ball when Adam Judge dropped
it at center field.
Speaker 1 (39:17):
I wanted to play with winners.
Speaker 2 (39:18):
What what if, Michael, what if Wan Soto genuinely said, hey, listen,
the culture the Yankees wasn't for me. It wasn't for me,
and I just never felt at home. I played for Washington, dude,
I played for other teams, and what it just if
I get something like that, then I feel like it's like,
like you said, a relationship, Well, if she doesn't want
(39:39):
to be with me, then why the hell in the
world would I want to be with her?
Speaker 1 (39:41):
Right? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (39:42):
But also, you know, haven't you been with girls where
you felt very comfortable real quick, and then other girls
you dated a long time and you never really felt
that same comfort. I'll be I dated girls for years.
I proposed my wife within a year of knowing her.
Sometimes you just feel that fit.
Speaker 1 (39:56):
So if he's if he says something like that where
he talks about how he felt with the Yankees, right
like he felt uncomfortably, never felt at home. He wanted
to lead his own team. He felt like he was
playing on judges team. He wants to build a new legacy.
He doesn't want to be part of an old legacy.
I want to hear those things from him, But don't
sell me on the BS that the Mets made him
(40:18):
feel some type of way.
Speaker 2 (40:19):
He's never gonna say what meetings with them. He's never
gonna say it gives. He's not a loudmouth like Kirk Chilling.
But you remember Kurk Chilling said in that Oh for
Red Sox documentary, the just the thought of taking a
team that never won the Red Sox and winning, especially
in a feud against the Yankees.
Speaker 1 (40:33):
That intrigues him more. I want to hear about it. Yeah,
I don't think he'll say it. I'm not gonna like it,
but at least is a better understanding.
Speaker 2 (40:39):
All right, So your thoughts on Soto, and we'll talk
a lot about the NFL.
Speaker 1 (40:43):
Things that made you go hmmm, we'll do it next.
Right here could be known Rich
