Well look Sam Donald, Mark gastonell three days in a row.
That was not on my twenty twenty four Bingo card.
We'd be talking about Gastadel. Sam Donald looks like a
Lego fireman. You ever see That's a good point that meme.
I do like that. I saw someone say Mark Gastadel
looks like Roseanne and Tom Arnold together. You know, we
(01:40):
gotta talk Mark Gasto. That's special. That at thirty for
thirty we've been discussing this past week airs tomorrow on
Friday the thirteenth, So something else look forward to this weekend.

it going eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox. And
(02:02):
thanks for all the support, Thanks for watching the Mike
Tyson interview, listening it, listening to it on the podcast.
I'm seeing it being picked up a lot of places,
a lot of people, uh spreading our Tyson interview around,
which is not on danly Mail on Bleacher Report. It's
getting around, so continue checking it out on Fox Sports
Radio's YouTube page and all of our clips at Covino
and Rich. If you missed Mike Tyson again, you can
(02:24):
watch it. You can also hear it on the podcast
from Monday. And you know what we're gonna do. We're
gonna release what we're calling the Mike Tyson Yule Log.
Oh man, the Fox Sports Radio nation has to get
ready for this. I don't know if you are ready. So,
Danny g I saw you allude to this on your
Instagram story when he posted a picture of Mike before
(02:46):
the interview started and he was just sitting there smoking.
We have the video of Mike just laughing, sitting back
and forth smoking and we put it to Christmas music.
And you know some people watch the yule log. Yeah,
I say, why watch the ulog when you can watch
Mike smiling, smoking a joint with a fireplace. You can
smoke weed with Mike Tyson. Yeah, it's the new holiday,
might the thing? Yeah, well, well we'll definitely post that
(03:08):
acting Rich christ Mary before we get into an happy holiday.
The latest on Mark Gastone I feel like we're all guilty.
Speaker 4 (03:18):
This.
Speaker 1 (03:19):
Has your wife or girlfriend ever said something to you
and you immediately were thinking, I didn't hear what you
just said. Happens at least at least three times a day.
How many guys are scared to ask their wife what
are our plans this weekend? Because he knows he should know.
There's so many times my girlfriend's gone, right and I
(03:40):
don't know where she is, but I know she told me,
so I'm scared to ask, like, Hey, how'd it go?
How did it go? He's like, how do what? Goy?
You know? You know what today?
Speaker 5 (03:51):
You know?
Speaker 1 (03:53):
And I have to pretend like I knew where she was.
When are you going to be home? Yeah? What do
you mean? When am I going to be home?
Speaker 4 (03:58):
You know?
Speaker 1 (03:58):
Brown the Mountain because I won exactly. I'm just saying
I did that with our video guy Spot he said,
one thing when you get to the studio, yeah, just
turn the lights on. So when we stream video, what
is the one thing I didn't tell you? He didn't
put the light so you talk to me? One lights on?
Speaker 6 (04:16):
So we got to talk about he's going to be
Solar power Boy. Later in the show, he's light Boy.
Speaker 1 (04:22):
Right now, you're light boy, Rich is turning on the
lights in the studio. You have lights on, just not
the ones you guys want. We have the fragile leg
point spot our track leg. Thank you for calling me
spot a good good point Sarah track lighting we're not
putting on, not the Instagram lights though, the regular We're
not sitting here in the dark. In other words, we
had to put the spotlights on for the camera again.
You could see it on Fox Sports Radio's YouTube page
(04:44):
and all of our clips at Covino and Rich. Now,
speaking of clips, not only has our Mike Tyson video
gone viral, not only has Mark Gastineau's videos gone viral,
but Wan Soto putting on the Mets jersey today all
already all over the place. But it's not even just
him putting on the Mets jersey. It's all the goofy
(05:07):
things he said about the Yankees and about the Mets future.
Why are you hating on this? Well, I'm not gonna
like it, right, So we got to discuss all things
want so too, at least from today. First of all,
when asked how his former players on the Yankees feel
about this, has he talked to them this is what
he said.
Speaker 4 (05:27):
You've been in touch with anybody from your former team
and could you share what those conversations might have been. Like,
I haven't talked to any of those guys. That's definitely.
We talked to them through playoffs at the end of
the playoffs, but after I make these processes, I haven't
talked to any of those What does that tell you?
Speaker 1 (05:44):
That tells me that he is a jayo as it
tells me you Yankees reached down to him. There's there's
thirty of them included, thirty forty to fifty including management
everybody else. So why would reach out to him? Because
maybe he's an a hole, all of those people are wrong,
or maybe Soto is just not the guy. I think
(06:05):
we're seeing a little problem is with the Mets because
you got here's what's made with byby antics have no end.
So now he's all the Yankees gotta be wrong here,
not maybe Jan Soto. What made the Mets special last year,
And I'll be the first to tell you they were
a special squad. I enjoyed watching them, their magical moments,
(06:25):
the o MG timmy trumpets, the camaraderie, the chemistry, it
was all there. Lindor And and Polar Bear Pete coming through.
Oh you know what they're saying now? They the yell
were expressed by becoming to Queen's before Christmas. They traveled together,
they partied together, they went to dinners together, they did
everything together. They won together. In my opinion, Wan Soto's
(06:49):
are trying to separate himself as the as the guy.
To me, that's not gonna gel with the Mets and
what they're all about. He's got his own personal suites.
This guy is making almost a billion dollars. To me,
that's not saying he's part of the team. To me,
he wants to be the superstar. He wants to be
the guy whose butt is kissed. He wants to be
the guy who gets his feet rubbed by Steve Cohen.
(07:11):
To me, he is separating himself from what was once
a really great chemistry. And hey, if he was such
a great team guy, no Yankees reached out to him.
He shows what do you see? That shows what the
Yankees are made of. No, how do you not see
what I'm saying? If he was such a great guy,
no Yankees, not even like Glaber Torres, none of the
Latino guys that you say, he's so desperately wanted to
(07:33):
play with with the Mets. None of the Latino guys
from the Yankees reached out, No Oswaldo Cabrera, no Aaron Judge.
They had their little special handshakes, None of those guys.
You're doing. What you're doing is typical, dude. You're talking
at you, You're talking out of both sides of your mouth. No,
I'm not on one side. You know what you're saying. Oh,
Soda left simply for the money. And I said, maybe
(07:55):
he didn't really click with the Yankees, and maybe he
was looking for somewhere that he felt he fit in more. Now,
if that's the answer, Yeah, if the Yankees signed him,
would he be a bad guy? I said, Hey, is
Max free to turn guy? No story develops, I'm starting
to see maybe the real character of this dude. And
(08:15):
I know, you know, the guy that was just chasing
the money all along. So this is part of the
story today. Guys, no Yankees have reached out to him.
What does that say to you? It also says to
me that they felt a little betrayed, a little backstamp.
I haven't heard one current player say that. Jan Soto's
a bad teammate, So you are purely talking out of
(08:39):
jealous speculation. Well, it's going to be speculation, nonetheless, because
one player. You have to speculate. Why hasn't anybody reached
out to him? Has one? People move on? If people
move on from your work, your place of work, and
people have don't you wish him the best? The ones
that I know and people I didn't like. So maybe
he wasn't the greatest teammate after all. I don't know.
(09:01):
I mean, he's also the guy that's always that's already
thrown demands around, that has no he because he was
a free agent and he said what he wanted was
that throwing demands. That's yours, gopher. You know as much
as you can. But it's not like the Yankees didn't
give him a solid offer. So anyway, that's story number one.
And Fox Sports Radio Nation, Danny g. Sam your thoughts
as well, eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox. Not
(09:24):
one Yankees teammate. And there's a lot of Yankees that
are on the fence labor torres Nester Cortez, a lot
of players that are probably not gonna come back. They
didn't even reach out to them. Let me ask you this, Danny,
I was Sam, two people have no tie to this
Mets Yankees drama. That's not true. I'm big Apple Sam.
I mean, you know what, I'm ecstatic about this signing.
You are Big Apple Sam. Danny g you're a Dodgers guy.
(09:47):
You don't give a funk or wagonal. You don't you
don't care a terrible, terry funk. Have you heard anyone
from the Nationals, the Padres, anyone that's ever played with
Sodo say that he's not a team guy. I mean,
he sounds like a selfish player. Dude, for what reason
he went after?
Speaker 4 (10:05):
What he is?
Speaker 1 (10:06):
Otani? A selfish player? I mean, he's bounced around a
few times, it seems to me based on everything he said,
even during the season when they would ask him, Hey,
what are your chances on coming back to the Yankees, Like,
he basically always implied that whoever paid him the most
is where he was going. So starts as a National,
wins a World Series, traded traded. Now he's a free agent,
(10:29):
signs with the team where the narrative doesn't match up
to me.
Speaker 6 (10:33):
Do you think maybe Rich his Yankee teammates just wanted
to stay out of the mix while the negotiations were
going on. That's probably between several teams. I think that
might be a big part of it. Probably a big
part of it. Like, hey, you know, it's an awkward situation.
Maybe they were told not to discuss with him. You know,
it's a you know, you think that there's a lot
that these people know. And even Brian Cashman was saying
(10:56):
today publicly, like they throw the offer out there and
then they just around like they don't know. At the
end of the day, the only one that knows everything,
I'm sorry, in the beginning, middle and end of the day,
the only one that really knows the answers are Wan
Soto and his agent. Yeah, but Cove, if you were
renegotiating with FSR, I would text you on the side.
Speaker 1 (11:16):
Like that's what I'm saying. Come on, Like, because I'm
a good guy. So you say him Toto's nothing, I'm saying,
maybe there's more than meets the eye. He is all
about himself. Well, you know we're gonna talk about Mark
Aston in a few minutes, right, there's a reason they're
saying that he's not in the Hall of Fame. He
was a very selfish player. He was an all about
me sort of guy. Maybe that's what wan Soto's all about.
(11:39):
I don't know, dude. You're asking me to speculate, but
based on his decision making, I don't. It's it's easy
for me to believe that. I don't expect you to
like this deal. You're a Yankees fan. That would be
like any team losing a star player pretending to be
all pumped for them. You've said it to me on
and all theater. What do you expect me to be?
Freaking psych trostot? Expect you to be mad about It's
(12:01):
like def this guy, I expect that, But for you
to like so cavalierly say, well, he must be all
about himself. Why cause he's a free agent. That the
answers in your question, how many players do you think
are on the the Yankees roster? Meet with the clubhouse
people and personnel and all the people there, like fifty
(12:22):
to one hundred people that he probably dealt with daily, right,
not one person reached out to him. That says more
about him than it does the Yankees is your most
foolish speculation in the history of all he had he
could reach out to somebody. None of those people reached
out to him, none of them. Dude, if you moved
forward and no one reached out to you to say, hey, man,
(12:44):
good luck. Who does that see more about? But how
do you not see? That means it wasn't a great fit.
It says more about you than it does everybody else.
You're saying, in other words, Rich is saying everybody else
is wrong. Everybody else. Ready, let's put it in other words.
If I leave this company and no one reaches out
to me to say, hey, good luck, does it say
(13:05):
more about me or everybody else? No, it would imply
that I'm a jerk because no one said goodbye or
good luck. I find it fascinating. Listen to a Wan soda.
It is common sense. You're debating common sense here. You're saying, no,
every Yankee personnel is wrong. Some of them wants some
of them had no personal relationship with him, and the
(13:26):
ones that did maybe said I'm gonna stay out of
its business. A lot of these guys in sports are like, hey,
that's that guy's bag, that's his money. I don't want
to I'll buy into that that they were told or
instructed or it's the etiquette to not do that. But
I've never heard that before. There there are people that
he is clearly close with. Francisco Lindor's one of them.
I'm not saying that's the main reason, but why are
(13:47):
you discounting He just wanted a start with a team
that he just felt more. Also, bs, he wanted to
be the guy, and hey, props to him for that.
He didn't want to play in Judge's shadow. Judge is
a way shadow. Yeah, Judge's big Frankenstein's shadow. He's a
way better player than Soto, no doubt about that, on
every level and every stat. And he didn't want to
(14:10):
play where he was yanked for the facts, Yankee blinders.
Those are facts, dude. Look at the stats. Look at
the stats. Did Judge choke in a giant moment? Yes?
Could you say maybe that's what Soto saw and didn't
want to be part of that. I would take that
as an answer. Like a month ago, you said Wan
(14:32):
Soda had the greatest dub postseason at bat you've ever seen. Yeah,
a lot of things have changed since then. Yeah, he
left me, that's all that changed. Yes, So I'm supposed
to have the same opinion on the guy as a
as a guy, as a player, He's great. What's up? Sam?
I listen hearing this, It's like, I feel like this
player leaving the Yankees going to the Mets is driving
like a personal wedge between you two. It's almost a
(14:52):
little alarming. The only personal wedge is the one between
Riches Cheeks right now. That's it. Is this the beginning
of the end, and it's because of Juan Soda. Twenty
years of radio and TV together done because of one Soda. Goodbyes.
Remember Dan Buyer hit the nail on the head though
when we did our Fox Sports Radio and so does
a home Wrecker. We did our we did we did
(15:13):
our Fox Sports Radio Spotify wrapped. Remember remember we did
our Spotify rap. Yeah, he said. The number one discussion
by far in twenty twenty four was New York Baseball.
And it's not because we're in New York centric. Is
because we're passionate based off fan which is awesome, and
we're from the East Coast and let's be real here,
baseball has been a drama show and made a lot
(15:35):
of great moves in the past year. Baseball is exciting.
When do we ever talk baseball in the off season.
The way we've been talking about baseball, I have another question. Hold,
I'm another postseason was fire. That's why our Yankees fans
in like a state of shock because in the last
couple of years, Steve Cohen is a big mister, big spender.
Now due it's at it's like the girl you know what,
it loves Sam the Yankees like the good looking girl
(15:55):
at the club and a hotter girl just came into
the club and the Yankees can't handle it. They're like,
wait a minute, I'm supposed to get free drinks from
all the guys. Steve Cohen came in and he is
a supermodel. Yeah yeah, Grimace Peter looking definitely supermodel. Wan
Soto so hot, get out of my face. Yes, we
would have liked him to play, but if no Yankees
were reaching out, it shows to me that he wasn't
that great. I want to make a bet who has
(16:16):
a better record in twenty twenty five. Yeah, if you
want to lose your money, absolutely, I don't think that
there's going to be the Mets not that best, the
bigger yeah A thousand, yeah, thousand bucks, dude, right now,
there's no question. But the Mart tape Mark tape, the Phillies,
(16:37):
the Dodgers. There's way better teams in the NL well
either way. So that's the part one. That's part one
of Sure, I'll shake of it. Thousand wait wait wait, wait, no, no, no,
I want to get this.
Speaker 6 (16:49):
Yeah, hang on, they're taking a picture.
Speaker 1 (16:51):
He needs to take a picture. Yeah, I need you
think I'm scared of all the yank the Mets pitching
that's going to be injured this year. Sure, thousands really
ware to go good local, Max Free, The Mets are
gonna met like they've always met it. It's about a
better record. Who the better record? That's as simple as
a gets. So, so Part one is Soto admitting that
not one Yankee has reached out. And by the way,
(17:12):
he didn't reach out either, Like, don't you think that's
a little whack if I was gonna leave Let's say
I'm leaving Fox Sports Radio, right, you don't think I
go to my boy Danny G and be like, Yo,
Danny G is a courtesy because you're my boy. I'm
just gonna let you know, man, it's just not working
for me here. It's nothing personal. You're my guy. I
gotta do what I gotta do. Wouldn't that be the
(17:32):
respectful thing. So he also says he had no communication
with them selfish. All indication indicators here say that he's
a selfish dude. He's all about him. Fine, you know what?
And and and guess what baseball is not all about him?
Sport Juan Soto has perspective, and this is what he
said as to why he chose the Mets. What they're building,
(17:53):
take a listen.
Speaker 4 (17:54):
Well, they showed me how the organization on stems and
how they look at their future. I think it was
one of the things that opened my eyes a little
bit more what they've been constructing and building to take
all the way, all the way up to fifteen years,
twenty years and never know. Definitely that was one of
the things that I opened my eyes more. How hungry
(18:16):
they are for to win a championship and to one
I make a dynasty in New York Mets.
Speaker 1 (18:22):
Yea, how desperate they are to overpay for him is
really what he's trying to say. They're they're hungry, they
don't have a great hits, They're hungry, they're starving. They've
not wont a damn thing. Guess what I'm okay with
that historically the Mets have stunk sixty nine. I wasn't
alive eighty six. I was a schoolboy. They stink, stanks, stunk.
(18:42):
They're good reference, you're a mean one. I love that
they're starving. Yeah, they're not hungry, starving New starving so much?
Are willing to overpay for a guy who can't even
play the outfield? New own He didn't say that last year.
Speaker 7 (18:59):
What do you mean?
Speaker 1 (18:59):
Of course he was never a great fielder. He has
a good arm. He could hit New owner a couple
of years ago. Mets fan, richest owner wants to build something. Listen, man,
there's ebbs and flows. The Yankees have owned New York
for a long time. This hustling flows brother. Other than
a five this year period in the eighties when the
Doc Goodin was on the side of buildings. Other than that,
(19:21):
since I've been born, it's been Yankees and the Mets
are second year is still the Yankees. They were in
the World Series last year, Your Mets were not. More
people talked about the Mets last year in your dreams
and in your group chats. That's about it. You know what, Hey,
we move on to the NFL. We move on to
Mark Gastono. You know what I'll say this Before we
talk about the latest with Gastono. Another clip has been
(19:42):
released for the documentary that comes out tomorrow. I might
be changing my mind on I. I'm starting to feel
for this guy, is what I'm saying, and I'll explain why.

You know, I try to stay open minded and not
about soda. I was going to talk about The Grinch.
(21:35):
We all love the nineteen sixty nine classic Doctor Seuss
twenty six minutes Quick Doctor Seuss Grinch at Cell Christmas.
I love the Jim Carrey one, but I also love
the Benedict Cumberbatch movie that came out a couple of
years ago. I was good watch it with the kids,
and it's one where Pharrell's on the soundtrack and it's
a little more modern. He actually for ellm narrates it too.
(21:57):
It's fantastic, So don't shy away from it because it's new.
Not everything news thinks it's it's fantastic. I like to
Jim carry One a lot. Jim Carrey One is great.
Just Jim Carrey. It's Jim Carrey. Love Jim Carrey. We're
a big Jim Carrey show. You're right, you ain't kidding
all right now, we talked about Wan Soto, he's breaking
the family apart, and Danny g actually posted on X
(22:19):
our official handshake one thousand dollars Mets Yankees? Who has
a better record? And I do want the Fox Sports
Radio nation to chime in on social media? Though, how
do you decipher what was said at the press conference today?
As he put on the Mets jersey and the Mets
welcomed him, No Yankees reached out. He thinks that they
(22:39):
have a brighter future. You know, your thoughts on that
hit us up at Covino and Rich. Honestly, how do
you break that down? No one reached out to him,
but again it's a two way street. He didn't say
anything to anybody, it's a little odd. It says a
lot about him. I think your thoughts. The history of
a team doesn't necessarily take the future. It just doesn't.
(23:03):
And I get it. The Yankees have legacy, The Yankees
have the pinstripes and Batee Ruth and Mickey Mannle and
Derek Jeter. But it doesn't mean the future looks as
bright to someone. I mean, if you're an NFL like
right that bag he was chasing, you know, But if
you're an NFL player, do the Patriots look like where
you want to be? Right now? Who would have ever
thought like the Detroit Lions would be were the Patriots
in a Super Bowl last year? I don't think so.
(23:25):
So anyway, your thoughts at Covino and Rich at Fox
Sports Radio hashtag Cavinos the Man, hashtag Covinos right, hashtag
f Soto. Now we're giving prizes away in just a
quick four or five minutes. Danny g is going through
all the feedback. He's going through our podcast reviews to
pick some winners. So if you follow us on Apple
(23:46):
podcast Covino and Rich, and you leave a review, you
might qualify. So stick around. We're giving back for the holidays,
some prizes in just five minutes. But your thoughts on
Mark Gastono man, because you said you're having a change
of heart, a little bit Rinch style change of heart.
Your favorite show with Chris hardway back at the day,
was that Chris Hardwick that was singled out you're thinking
of Janja Heart was I forgot the guy's name, but
(24:08):
I remember that. I remember the show who hosted change
of Heart? Well, it was a woman first, a woman
comedian that was on our show? Did Jagger host jam
Jack Guy? I'm having a little bit of a change
of heart because my whole feeling is like Mark Gastono
is coming across as like a little bit of a
crazy person and he's, you know, living in the past,
(24:30):
like you know, Brett far of you, you stole my sack.
I'm gonna kill you. Essentially, It's gone extremely viral. It
debuts tomorrow thirty for thirty The New York Sack Exchange,
the story of well, basically why Mark Gaston is not
in the NFL Hall of Fame and what he's all
about right now. I will say they've done a hell
of a job promoting this via the social media clips
because it's sort of promoted itself because my interest level.
(24:52):
If you would have told me a month ago, like,
oh yeah, there's gonna be a Mark Gastono thirty for
thirty New York Sack Exchange, I would have said, maybe
I'll get around to it. But now my weekend watching Dude,
I'm watching this tomorrow night. So Mark Gastono. Another clip
was released, not the Brett Faar of Weird Awkwardness, another
clip about how he's bitter about being the creator of
(25:18):
the sack dance.
Speaker 7 (25:20):
I started the sack dance. Oh my god, and now
it's okay, but then it wasn't. But how about if
I did the same stuff now, what would it be now?
So why don't we get it through their heads?
Speaker 4 (25:34):
Man?
Speaker 1 (25:36):
I have you know what. I'll give you the weirdest
analogy and again, no one else is going to give
you this analogy on Sports Radio Exclusive. You ever meet
an older gay person and they can have two approaches
to life. I was Sam's like, where is he going
with this? Sure? I have you. You you meet an
(26:02):
older neighbor, family member, someone who grew up gay in
a time where they were the recipient of a lot
of hate, a lot of terrible you know language and
a lot of you know, non acceptance when they see
the youngsters now embracing and showing love for people in
(26:23):
the gay community. Even they could take two approaches. One
approaches I'm happy we've made so much progress, good for them,
or they could be bitter that well, when I was younger,
my family just owned me and this and that, and
they could be bitter about it. So you could be
bitter about it or be better thankful that the younger
generation doesn't have to deal with what you dealt with.
(26:46):
That could work for racism, sexuality, a lot of things.
And I think Mark Gastino as a player, there's like
I didn't get paid as much. I couldn't celebrate. He
could either take the approach of like I'm not a
sour great, I'm hurt, I'm hurt, I'm hurt, or he
could say I'm glad the game came a long way,
and I feel like he's leaning towards the prior or.
(27:09):
We could look at it this way because the more
I see this story develop again, your opinions develop as
the story develops. The same with Wan Soto. I feel
bad for him as I did previously, but now I'm
starting to think maybe it was really irresponsible to have
cameras on this guy in the first place. In twenty sixteen,
(27:29):
New York Jets defensive and Mark Astina was diagnosed with dementia,
Alzheimer's disease in Parkinson's disease. Jeez, is this fair to
him to his family to be exploited or exposed in
this way? However you want to look at it, I'm
gonna take the Joe Rogan approach, meaning where when Joe
(27:53):
Rogan does interviews after a UFC fight, he says he
tries to stay away from anybody that was just knocked
out because it's not fair to that fighter. They just
have their bell rung. They're not completely there, and in
that moment, it's unfair to that fighter. I'm not saying
he's never done it, but he tries to. If the
guy's you know, with it, and he's okay, I'll talk
(28:14):
to him. But if the guy just got knocked out,
he's like, now, I'm not going to do that to
the guy. And I feel like, maybe it's a little
unfair to put this guy on this giant special when
maybe he's just not all there. And if that's the case,
you know, I, of course saying it's a great point.
Could no, But I feel like there's family and friends
and people surrounding this project that would have stopped it
(28:34):
had that been the sentiment. I mean, And I don't
know that. I don't know that. Your thoughts are you
starting to sympathize? Do you think he's a jerk? What
are your thoughts as these clips start to surface in
promotion for the thirty for thirty which airs tomorrow again.
To make my analogy clear, when the world changes around you,
you could either embrace the change and say I'm happy
(28:57):
the new generation doesn't have to deal with some of
the hessles I had, or you could say, all right,
maybe he's not emotionally equipped and mentally equipted to think
of it that way. But besides the Brett farthing, listen
one more time, then we'll go to the reviews with
Danny J. Just listen to how sad he sounds when
he talks about him being the guy that was the
first to dance after a sack.
Speaker 7 (29:17):
I started the sack dance and now it's okay, but
then it wasn't. But how about if I did the
same stuff now what would it be now, So why
don't we get.
Speaker 1 (29:30):
It through their heads?
Speaker 4 (29:32):
Man?
Speaker 1 (29:33):
Just sounds rough man. All right, well, we'll get your
feedback on that next but right now we want to
give back to you. Fox Sports Radio Nation tis this
season to give some swiggees. Everyone seems to be obsessed
with this cup. Incredible cups. Fans lining up at Target
(29:54):
stores before sunrise just to snag one.
Speaker 6 (29:58):
I've heard that, all right, Maybe exaggerating a little bit there,
but these Cee and our swiggies are very nice.
Speaker 1 (30:06):
Hey, and don't be regifting our swiggies.
Speaker 6 (30:08):
By the way, you have a new batch too. They
are what did you call them? Coveno midnight Oh.
Speaker 1 (30:13):
Sat midnight black Sapphire mid night black Sapphire midnight black.
All right, cool?
Speaker 6 (30:17):
All you got to do is leave a podcast review
at Apple for Coveno and Rich. Here you guys before
I kiss, ask for the listeners here that left five
star reviews. How about a one star review?
Speaker 1 (30:28):
Please? I love it, I love the haters.
Speaker 6 (30:30):
Jess Loves Balloons is his handle the Seinfeld of sports
talk radio. It's the title I tell my friends to
listen to these guys because they always start with a
topic in sports, but they gradually get more and more
off topic as the conversation progresses, and by the end
they're just going on and on about complete nonsense and
it's absolutely hilarious. Seinfeld is famously referred to as the
(30:52):
show about Nothing, and I think that's also a good
description for this show. And I say that with the
highest praise. Yeah, sounds that sounded. Those are compliments. And
he gave us one star, one star nice sports talk Radio,
maybe by accident. I think three stars would have matched
(31:12):
the review better.
Speaker 1 (31:13):
All let's go to were this Coveno. He has George's hairline, right,
Let's go to the.
Speaker 6 (31:19):
First five star review here. That's a winner. Nick Nick
one one four Uh, not your Daddy's Sports Show is
his title. I almost gave up on sports talk radio
until I listened to these guys. I was tired of
the over the top takes, hypothetical, never gonna happen sports situations. Oh,
these guys have it, but they lean into the over
the top to comedic level. They marry sports with life
(31:40):
with pop culture better than any other show Premiere Entertainment,
and you don't even need to pay for it.
Speaker 7 (31:45):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (31:46):
I love that guy who's right, Nick, Nick, Yeah, that's
my guy.
Speaker 6 (31:51):
Next reviewer, Jeff Strom five stars, first time, long time,
first time reviewer, long time listener. Been listening to you
guys since two thousand and five. And these buffoons have
a Walter White like chemistry while bringing a different view
on the sports we all know and love. Their show
on FSR is even better with the entire gang Danny G,
Dan Bayer, et cetera. I must listen for huge sports
(32:14):
fans and casual fans alike.
Speaker 1 (32:16):
Wowang, thank you for that. Appreciate you mentioned me, though
I feel a little left out. I like that, man, Eddie.
What else to say I would chang? I would say
is interchange me you Sam, Dan Byer, Danny G and
then and everyone else.
Speaker 6 (32:28):
Before we get to before we get to Buyer's update.
One more winner here your boy in Denver, Sam is
his title, and that's who wrote this. Five stars. You
knuckleheads make me laugh every day you rock the airwaves.
Five stars is not enough Dan, Dana Sam, and thank
god for Mike who runs that place?
Speaker 1 (32:46):
All right? Who Mike who runs this bike?
Speaker 4 (32:51):
Uh?
Speaker 6 (32:52):
That was Joe Sam from Denver. Jose Sam, if you
heard your review, just send me an email. It is
cr Prizes at gmail dot com. See our prizes at
gmail dot com.
Speaker 1 (33:02):
Keep them coming. Thank you so much. We appreciate you, guys.
And it's time now for Dan Byer with an update.
D Beat. What's doing man, guys. Bill Belichick is what's doing.
Speaker 3 (33:12):
As he was introduced today, is the new at football
coach at the University of North Carolina. Belichick earlier today.
Speaker 8 (33:19):
I always wanted a coach in football, coaching college football.
It just never really worked out. Had some good years
in the NFL, so that was okay. This is really
kind of a dream come true. I grew up in
college football with my dad, and so it's great to
come back home to Carolina, you know, back in an
environment that I really grew up in.
Speaker 3 (33:38):
Belichick getting a three year deal thirty million dollars guaranteed.
The fourth and fifth years on the contract are not guaranteed.
Belichick did reveal that he spoke with Michael Jordan Lawrence
Taylor Wow, two former tar Heels before taking the job
in Chapel Hill.
Speaker 1 (33:52):
dB, you the guy that got the trademark for Chapel Bill,
Did you see that?
Speaker 7 (33:57):
No?
Speaker 3 (33:57):
But I thought it was very very clever. Was good
you know they'll be merch. Yes, they've had some great shirts.
And I went to Chapel Hill about five years ago,
saw a basketball game there and member of Michael Jordan's.
The ceiling is the roof. Yes, they had t shirts
with that saying in the Carolina Blue.
Speaker 1 (34:14):
So wait for Chapel Bill. Yes, it's there.
Speaker 3 (34:16):
Former Florida and Mississippi State head coach Dan Mullen's going
to be the new head coach at UNLV. Travis Hunter
of Colorado, the AP College Football Player of the Year.
Richie's Niners take on the Rams tonight eight to fifteen
Eastern Time. Dre Greenlaw has been activated. The linebacker expected
to play in his first game since Super Bowl fifty eight.
As for Nick Bosa, they expect him to play, NFL
(34:36):
Network says, though they want him to go through pregame
warm ups before actually deciding if he'll play against the
Rams tonight. Chargers' quarterback Justin Herbert limited in practice today.
No practice for Buccaneers running back Bucky Irving, Jets running
back Brise Hall, or Bears running back DeAndre Swift.
Speaker 1 (34:52):
Guys, back to you, what did what did Jason veritec A.
Cavino in the four documentary Don't let Us Win Tonight?
Oh is that a Kevin Malark? How's Kevin Malara? Well,
guess what, don't let the Niners win tonight. I'll just
say let them win tonight. Running the table all right,
yea hey, I'll be watching. I'm rooting for your Niners,
not your Mets. Now we got more Coveno and Rich. Next,

Happy holidays from your friends on the Coveno and Rich Show.
You know the show with Danny g Dan Bayer, et cetera,
Me and Micro et cetera. Hey. In the original Gilligans
Island Theme True story Gilligan's Island Theme, Who's gonna be?
They don't say. The professor and Marianne, they say, and
(36:45):
the rest. Did you know that I did not? No, Yes,
it goes the millionaire and his wife and the rest

our post show ready some of our clips that we're
pulling because we're getting ready for over promised. Our bonus
podcast debuts today, and I can tell you we spent
(37:22):
so much time on Juan Soto and Mark Gastino. We're
not gonna have time to talk about Joe Burrow's privacy.
And I'm gonna go over. I'm gonna go over the
scenarios in which the forty nine ers make the playoffs.
I'm breaking out, I'm breaking out the playoff machine. And
you know what we'll do. I over promised right after
this show, we'll do the top sports related Christmas gifts
(37:45):
of all time that we grew up with. All right,
that's over promised on Fox Sports Radios YouTube page. Right
after this show, we go live with a live chat
and everything on this day. Let me hit you with
a fun fact and then we're gonna go old school.
But this is old school. On this day in nineteen thirty.
Just sholl you how far we've come in nineteen thirty.
Today was the day major League baseball. You know, today
(38:05):
was a big day for baseball. One soda in nineteen thirty.
Today's the day that they said a ball that bounced
into the stands wasn't a home run, it was a
ground rule double. So on this day was the creation
of the ground rule double So prior to today, in
nineteen thirty, if a ball bounced into the stands, home run, wow,
(38:27):
weak sauce, righty so hey, ground rule double think? A
Rich Davis home run had those soft ball ones he
brags about where there's no fence, no no, no doubt.
Sounds like that, straight hands back, please, I hit bombs
over the fence, thank you very much, only home runs
over the fence. Count I agree. All right, let's do this.
Old School win fifty hits. There's a surgeon, yea. What
(38:49):
we gonna do is go back.
Speaker 5 (38:53):
Back into town, throwing it back for a Thursday. Old
School went fifty hits. That's fifty afterr give you the
time capsule topic and we reminisce together.
Speaker 1 (39:04):
Yeah, okay, so it's Thursday, December twelfth. We throw it
back every Thursday we reminisced. We get you involved. This
is where you get involved. I mean, you're always involved,
but we really count on you. Fox Sports Radio Nation
eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox to hit us
up at Covino and Rich on social media at Fox
Sports Radio. You have to imagine that there's a lot
(39:24):
of company Christmas parties this week and next week. We
had ours. Last week we had a great time Fox
Sports Radio. There's also a lot of get togethers this weekend,
a lot of ugly Christmas sweater parties, a lot of gatherings,
a lot of people, a lot of family and friends
coming together for the holidays. So it's sort of a
two part doozy. What's some of the etiquette. We've touched
(39:45):
on some of it in the past few weeks, like
don't be the most drunk at the party. That's nice
the number one rule, of course. So what's some of
the etiquette you always bring into these events? And I
have a side question, and that question is this our
Irish goodbye is okay? Because I feel like it's the
best move. Some people say it's rude. Some people say
(40:05):
you have to practice the Italian goodbye. Wasn't the Italian goodbye.
The Italian goodbye is you kiss everyone in the whole
party on both cheeks and it takes half hour to leave. Yeah,
more like an hour? Yeah easy, like I dated a girl.
And by the way, in case you don't know, the
Irish goodbye is the exact opposite, where you sort of
sneak out without having to say goodbye to anybody, you
(40:26):
vanished into the night. I mean otherwise that as the
Irish exit, right, the Irish exit you. My dad has
specialized in this over the years. He's mastering you're one
of two types of people, which is okay, because I
dated the most Italian girl from Brooklyn and her family
used to joke about, all right, we want to leave
in a half hour. Start saying you're goodbyes, because it
takes an old school Italian family at least a half hour. Oh,
(40:50):
uncle Lindsey and Gina every hug and kiss and bro
hug and it takes forever. Or do you just say, hey,
where did he g go? You could say that respect,
you know. I cut g. I felt beat. I cut
him In the middle of an Irish exit at the
Fox Sports Radio party, Danny g was walking out of
the and you were the guy that cawled him out.
Speaker 6 (41:10):
I was so close to having a successful Irish Goodbye
and rich yells through the They had like weighted glass
there on the patio of the restaurant.
Speaker 1 (41:18):
Why Danny, K, where are you going? That's so wee
he ruined it. Why would you do that?
Speaker 7 (41:25):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (41:25):
You gotta let people, you know leave gracefully. Now we
all could agree that, you know, stumbling out of the
party is the worst way to go. And if you're
gonna do that, do it safely. But again, party etiquette.
Do you have to participate? Do you have to wear
an ugly sweater? Do you have to go with the
theme that whoever's hosting is is going with? And again
your thoughts on Irish Goodbye? I have another layer I'm
(41:46):
gonna add in a few minutes, and it's what do
you bring to the party? Perfect? That's part I have
an updated rule on this. I'll explain what it is.
Next we'll go over some party etiquette. Happy Holidays, Merry
Christmas to everyone and more NFL. You know I'm pumped
do or die for the Niners tonight. We'll break that
down in a bunch more. A lot of fun today
conveni on Rich Fox Sports Radio,
