Speaker 3 (01:55):
I put Isaac in charge of a lot of things.
When he's here. I think he's I'm not gonna I

Speaker 4 (02:24):
We are carry the middle of July, approaching the MLB
All Star Break, a time when I think people think
sports is kind of slow, right, but.
Speaker 3 (02:34):
I feel like that's actually not happening, and it has
to do.
Speaker 4 (02:37):
I mean, soccer has been great if you're into tennis,
Wimbledon has been great. Carlos Alcoraz, Novak Djokovic are gonna
see each other in the final once again.
Speaker 3 (02:45):
But more importantly, I don't know what your timeline looks like.
On x slash Twitter, it is all w NBA left
and right. It's a lot of it, yes, a lot
of it, a lot of opinions, a lot of feelings,
a whole.
Speaker 7 (03:01):
Lot of films.
Speaker 1 (03:02):
You guys didn't see my face but I was like, yes, yes,
a whole lot of feelings.
Speaker 3 (03:06):
But I don't mind.
Speaker 4 (03:07):
I like there's a lot of people out there obviously
when feelings get involved, they get a little bit like, Okay,
well I.
Speaker 3 (03:12):
Can't take you seriously.
Speaker 4 (03:13):
But there is still a lot of really good discussion
out there when it comes to the WNBA, whether you're
talking about the Las Vegas Aces maybe not living up
to their expectation being two times WNBA champions, or you're
talking about Caitlin Clark and how the Fever are just
kind of figuring it out, or you're talking about Angel
Reese and the Chicago sky and everything's surrounding them. If
(03:36):
you've missed it, Angel Reese is recording a double double
like every other game. She's got fifteen consecutive double doubles,
and it's caused such a conversation on social media, a
lot of.
Speaker 3 (03:49):
People saying that she's stat patting.
Speaker 1 (03:51):
Now.
Speaker 4 (03:51):
There was a game earlier this week against the Atlanta Dream.
In case you missed it, the Atlanta Dream was up
by seven points with about or excuse me, the Chicago
Sky I were up by seven points with about seven
seconds to go. Angel Rees only had nine points at
that time. Now, you typically would see a team just
dribble out the ball, Sure, call.
Speaker 3 (04:10):
It out and then that's it. In fact, that was
the exact opposite.
Speaker 4 (04:13):
Angel Rees got in a position, started getting demanding the
ball from Kennedy Carter.
Speaker 3 (04:17):
She gets it. The Atlanta Dream foul her.
Speaker 4 (04:19):
She gets points ten and eleven on the free throw
line as the clock expires.
Speaker 3 (04:25):
Maybe that is stat.
Speaker 1 (04:27):
Patty, tell me what you feel, MONSI right, it actually does.
Speaker 3 (04:32):
Not bother me because I'm not gonna lie to you.
Speaker 4 (04:35):
If I was Angel Reyes in that position, I probably
would have done the same thing to keep my streak going.
I was also the person rooting for the forty nine
ers last year when they were playing the Jaguars and
they were up by a ton, and they put Christian
McCaffrey back in so that he could break the consecutive
touchdown record. He was at seventeen and he would have
broken it. So I think he tied it, or like
(04:56):
he did break it by one. But that was all
about it. I was like, put I'm back in, let
him get the touchdown.
Speaker 3 (05:02):
So I am not mad about it. Now some people
are out there like, oh, it's disrespectful to the game.
It's this, this, and that.
Speaker 4 (05:10):
I do think it diminishes a little bit of her accomplishment,
but she still has it.
Speaker 3 (05:16):
She's there, she's got it.
Speaker 9 (05:18):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (05:18):
No, you know what, I I'm a purist when it
comes to sports as well. I don't think you actively
go after anything.
Speaker 7 (05:27):
But right now I'm with you. I'm like, forget that,
go get it. Number one. We're talking about the WNBA.
Speaker 6 (05:32):
Yes, we're talking about Angel Reese on a worldwide on
a worldwide basis, right, people are literally tuning in to
see if she's going to get this next, and so
anything that's advancing the WNBA and giving those women a
chance to be in the Lime Lag and then at
the top of X every day, which is a huge thing.
We didn't have any of that last year, not at all.
(05:52):
And so for that to be a topic day in
and day out. If she can go out and keep
this street going, going after it and the Dream didn't
have to file, they didn't if she was going to
get it, Lara get it anyway. So you know, just
it's you know, it makes it fun, It makes it
exciting for.
Speaker 3 (06:08):
Me, exactly. I'm glad you brought up that the Dream
didn't have to fil. They did not have to fil.
She could have attempted a hook shot, a layup or something.
You know, she was right in the key. She could
have done that. They fouled her. And then when she
made her first shot, one of the dream Players who
was standing started coming.
Speaker 9 (06:25):
Yes.
Speaker 3 (06:26):
Oh, the dream Players started climbing.
Speaker 4 (06:28):
For her, and it's like, one, that's awesome because she
knew what was happening, and it was Kid's camp was
going on this week, which is why all the games
started so early.
Speaker 3 (06:37):
Like on the West Coast it was eight thirty in
the morning the first game.
Speaker 1 (06:40):
Did you know that, I did not say eight thirty
in the on.
Speaker 4 (06:41):
The West coast and the East Coast was eleven thirty five.
I guess it was kids camp week, so like they
bring all these camps. It was just so great, so
like everybody was so excited. Everybody was it was a
really fun moment. But the Atlanta dream Player waiting to
rebound started clapping for Angel Reese.
Speaker 3 (06:56):
So with that, though, do you think the problem there?
Speaker 4 (07:01):
That's actually what I think is the bigger problem in
the scenario is people that are watching that, We're like,
this is why we can't take the w N b.
Speaker 3 (07:09):
A seriously because in the NBA, I.
Speaker 4 (07:11):
Don't think we would have seen an opposing player clapping.
Speaker 6 (07:14):
Like that, not for somebody that's playing actively like in
their prime where Rookie. No, we've seen situations where others
clap yes for Dirk Novsky in this stuff.
Speaker 3 (07:25):
Like that, stuff like that Kobe in his farewell tour
like RP. We still love and miss you Kobe every day.
Speaker 4 (07:31):
But yeah, like that's not normal, right, and that is
that is actually the one run Like that's where people
are gonna say, this is why we can't take the
w seriously and in reality it's like I get it,
but let's push that aside. Let's push that aside and
go back to this pat statu the stating of the.
Speaker 1 (07:52):
Pat that's stat patty, stat Patty.
Speaker 3 (07:54):
Yeah, stat Patty. It really is, it really is. But
the bottom line on that it's an unwritten rule. Sho
didn't break a rule.
Speaker 4 (08:04):
She just did something that we typically do not see
or expect because it's an unwritten rule.
Speaker 3 (08:11):
But this unwritten rule truly does not bother me. Carrie.
Speaker 6 (08:15):
Yeah, the unwritten rule part of it is fine, right,
that's fine, We get it. In the Annals of History,
you don't do that. But we're breaking ground, We're breaking
history right now. These girls are these women excuse me,
I don't let me not say girl, these women are.
Speaker 3 (08:30):
Fine, But I know what you're saying. I understand are.
Speaker 6 (08:32):
Competing and getting after it and actively trying to advance
this game to a point where again, like I said,
we're all talking about it now and so that's never happened.
That hasn't happened with the Houston comments. Back in the day,
those teams and Cynthia Cooper and those and those women
going out and winning championships back to back, nobody was
invested on this level. The fact that we are invested
in this right now is a beautiful thing, and I'm
(08:55):
all for it, to be honest.
Speaker 7 (08:56):
Just keep keep going, keep breaking it.
Speaker 3 (08:58):
That's what I'm saying.
Speaker 4 (08:59):
I get the like, uh, but she did this, she
did who cares, Like, let's just move on from it
and let's see how much she can actually get because again,
it wasn't just her by herself.
Speaker 3 (09:08):
The Atlanta Dream one hundred percent helped her do that.
Speaker 10 (09:12):
Start clappings so good, Yeah, but there are other unwritten
rules carry and sports in life that really, like, get
to me, where it's like, like I said, this one
doesn't bother me, Like I understand that, Yeah, that's that's
wasn't the right thing to do based on the history
and like you were winning and there was nothing that
was gonna change you winning, right, But there are other
(09:33):
unwritten rules that really like grind my gears, you have one,
I haven't.
Speaker 3 (09:39):
Oh no, I have a lot at I have a
ton listed. If you are listening and there is an
unwritten rule that bothers you, call in dandy G. Can
we take calls on this one? Yeah, dandy G. Well
handle the phones. Thank you.
Speaker 4 (09:51):
If you're if there's an unwritten rule that you cannot
stand in sports, in life, or maybe you feel.
Speaker 3 (09:56):
The same one you're like, I'm not bothered by Angel
rece doing this. Give us a call, let us. But
I'd tell you one that really, really really really bothers
me so much.
Speaker 1 (10:02):
And this is in life in it life, life in life,
a life unwritten rule, got it?
Speaker 3 (10:08):
Okay, If you are in public and you want to
listen to something on your phone.
Speaker 4 (10:15):
Put some damn headphones on. I don't care what you're
listening to, really, I truly don't. And this happens everywhere.
There was a time I was in the sauna Carrie
at the gym. Huh, and this guy and girl together
were listening to separate things on their phone.
Speaker 3 (10:33):
With no headphones. First of all, how are you both
listening to separate things? Yeah, you're together and you're annoying that,
you know what out of everybody?
Speaker 2 (10:40):
Wow, I think this goes I think this goes double.
If you're taking a phone call on speaker. I've been
way too many times in the supermarket and someone is
talking on it like it's a no old next one
of those old nextells or something. It's like, I don't
need you on a walkie talkie. I do not care
what this conversation is. I'm looking for Rice.
Speaker 1 (11:00):
Well, I got a bump. I gotta yeah, yeah, I
know I'm looking for right.
Speaker 6 (11:03):
I gotta interject though, because what if their speakers, what
if their speaker on the phone isn't working and they
have to use the speaker?
Speaker 1 (11:08):
You know, there there's something you can do with the phone.
Carry You can just put it up to your ear
like this, so it's really low.
Speaker 2 (11:14):
It's broken, that's broken, then you should probably be looking
at a new phone.
Speaker 3 (11:18):
You're one percent right, I actually did.
Speaker 4 (11:20):
For a hot second, I had my iPhone that you
know how Apple wants you to get a new iPhone
every six months, Not just kidding, but they really force
you to get one. My my ear piece was broken
and the only way I could speak with somebody was
on speaker, and I was so embarrassed about it. And
then also like I'm talking to my mom, so I'm
yelling to make sure my mom can hear me. I'm
yelling in Spanish. People they we're fighting, We're not.
Speaker 3 (11:42):
That's just how we talk to each other. And so
I get it. But that one, it doesn't bother me
because I've done it.
Speaker 7 (11:48):
If I've done it, you know what's even worse is
when somebody has a family reunion on FaceTime sitting right
next to you at a restaurant, like, what are we doing?
Speaker 11 (11:57):
Yeah?
Speaker 7 (11:58):
I was inside a piece a pizza play parlor in
LA and the family next to us, they literally were
having a reunion on FaceTime and everybody was taking turns
on FaceTime, and we were in a lot of the
FaceTime shots. I'm waving, like you know what I mean?
This is so rude. You don't do that when you're
out in public, and there's other tables right next to yours, right,
I don't the.
Speaker 4 (12:18):
Whole thing with the phone, the loudness, Like I'm just like,
please use headphones, step away, step aside.
Speaker 3 (12:25):
You don't have to do it in the middle of dinner.
You don't have to do it in the middle of
a sauna.
Speaker 6 (12:29):
Right, Like, you know, I just don't get it, Manzi,
what if it was a song that you liked as well?
Would you have been dancing or you would have been
just as irked by what they were doing?
Speaker 4 (12:38):
So I would have probably like enjoyed it, and then
when it was over, I'd be like, that's great, now
turn it off.
Speaker 3 (12:43):
You know what I'm saying, Like that, thank you so
much for that, Like, let's turn it off.
Speaker 1 (12:47):
Got it all right?
Speaker 3 (12:48):
I have another one that.
Speaker 4 (12:49):
Does grind my gears, even though we haven't seen this
happen in a while. But it's a baseball one, which
is I think everybody agrees on this one, don't bunt
when there's a no hitter on the line. Oh, I
feel like that one, Like everybody agrees that is an
unwritten rule, but it is like a rule that if
you break.
Speaker 7 (13:07):
On your way to the car about don't pull the
picture when he has a no hitter.
Speaker 3 (13:14):
That is an unwritten rule as well.
Speaker 4 (13:15):
And unfortunately, I feel like it's going to become a
cemented rule, like it's gonna be a thing more and.
Speaker 3 (13:21):
More in baseball.
Speaker 4 (13:22):
And that's nice, seriously, And that's a nice sies because
maybe we're gonna talk about Pouskins and not about that
whole situation because I know, could you know?
Speaker 3 (13:30):
And Rich already talked about it. But is there any
other unwritten rule that you can think of? Listen, I
got a lot I can tell you.
Speaker 4 (13:37):
So this this is a life one when you're waiting
to like hop on an elevator, maybe hop on the
bus to train, and you go in and people are
getting out, wait for the people that need.
Speaker 3 (13:48):
To get out, Wait for the people that need to
get out.
Speaker 6 (13:52):
Before you hop in, you are around a lot of
rude people. I am what I'm getting, But I think
that's a I think that's the unwritten rule. Stop being
around rude people.
Speaker 3 (14:01):
Can't hel about this is public, this is publick.
Speaker 1 (14:03):
Where are you going here?
Speaker 3 (14:05):
There's an elevator here.
Speaker 4 (14:06):
Where I've seen that happen, and I'm just like, oh no, sorry,
let's let's not wait for people to get out.
Speaker 3 (14:11):
That's why I say out loud, Oh yeah, let's not
wait for people to get out.
Speaker 6 (14:14):
We're your mean mog faith from now on, it is.
Oh okay, that didn't work either, Yes, no it did not.
Speaker 1 (14:21):
So I'm not someone.
Speaker 2 (14:23):
I'm a big soccer guy and someone told me about
this one time. I don't personally know how much it
is an unwritten rule, but he assures me it is.
Is that apparently, if you go to a different club
and you end up scoring a goal against your own club,
you're not supposed to. You know, soccer, we celebrate every goal,
but you're not supposed to celebrate when you score against
your own club.
Speaker 3 (14:44):
That seems yeah, that seems like good, Like, yeah, I
understand that one.
Speaker 1 (14:47):
No, I I'm against that. You should stunt on them.
You stunt on them, stunt on them.
Speaker 4 (14:51):
Okay, So how do you feel about the unwritten rule
of don't stomp on an opponent's slogo?
Speaker 1 (14:57):
Oh that's a good one. There's been so much about that.
Speaker 3 (15:00):
You do that.
Speaker 1 (15:01):
We fight, We fight, nofl.
Speaker 2 (15:04):
Like, there's still some people out there who are mad
at I forget who it was like stomping on the
Steelers logo or something.
Speaker 6 (15:10):
And this is a thing Chris and Monci. We were
playing in College Louisville against Cincinnati. It was like the
keg of Nail's game, and it's a big game for
us in that area. Cincinnati came in stomped on the
logo before the game. We took it the cardinal, We
took it.
Speaker 1 (15:26):
We took it so personal. We beat those guys seventy
to seven.
Speaker 9 (15:30):
Oh see.
Speaker 3 (15:31):
And that is why unwritten rule, you do not do that.
Speaker 7 (15:34):
Do not do do that.
Speaker 4 (15:36):
And I feel like that's just everybody would agree in sports,
like don't don't do that, because then they're gonna make
a full out of you.
Speaker 7 (15:42):
We're going to get after you.
Speaker 4 (15:43):
All of a sudden, everybody is drinking Mike's secret stuff
and they're gonna come out and like kill you.
Speaker 1 (15:48):
Oh fourth quarter, we're not taking our stars out. We're
still scoring. We're still scoring that forty exactly exactly.
Speaker 3 (15:55):
I mean, I get it. I like that one, all right. Also,
don't talk about a no hitter.
Speaker 1 (16:02):
Don't talk about it as soon as it's mentioned. Don't first,
don't don't do it.
Speaker 3 (16:07):
And I you know, like literally when sometimes we're on
the updates.
Speaker 4 (16:10):
I know, Isaac, if you feel like this when we're
on the updates and there is a no hitter, like,
I never want to mention it.
Speaker 1 (16:19):
Oh sorry, guys, I was something on my phone.
Speaker 2 (16:22):
I remember anything in here yesterday with Isaac because he
was giving us updates on no hitters through and I
did because I.
Speaker 1 (16:28):
Said, no hitter.
Speaker 3 (16:29):
I hate mentioning it.
Speaker 2 (16:31):
When can we even like even start to allude to
a no hitter? I thought it was supposed to be
when it gets like part way into the seventh, but
I've heard that started in like the sixth.
Speaker 3 (16:40):
Absolutely not.
Speaker 4 (16:41):
I would say like, hey, there's a game going into
the ninth inning and.
Speaker 3 (16:45):
You should watch.
Speaker 6 (16:46):
That's it.
Speaker 3 (16:48):
You should watch. That's all you got to say. That
is it, And then that way you are not jinxing it. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (16:55):
It's hard though, if you're announce it and call in
the game, what do you say.
Speaker 7 (17:01):
Happening? That's not excited?
Speaker 9 (17:03):
I know.
Speaker 2 (17:03):
But I think people will start to pluge into baseball.
We'll see, we'll see that, They'll they'll decipher the coach. Okay, guys,
stuff is happening.
Speaker 3 (17:12):
Pay attention.
Speaker 1 (17:13):
You might want to stay tooed.
Speaker 3 (17:14):
Right, You might want to stay tuned.
Speaker 1 (17:16):
I feel like you're having an interesting game so far.
Speaker 3 (17:19):
Yes, look at the box score.
Speaker 1 (17:21):
If arms steel strong.
Speaker 3 (17:24):
See there are ways to go about it. Unwritten rule,
don't mention a no hit all right?
Speaker 6 (17:30):
Along those lines, then, Moss, what about the unwritten rule
of the free throw jinks in the NBA when jump
no the free throw jinks where the team is like
going ten to ten from the line or Steph Curry
has been thirty five or thirty five the past three games,
and then it's a thing.
Speaker 3 (17:44):
Don't do it.
Speaker 7 (17:45):
Don't do that as well, every single time field goal kickers,
same thing. Same well, he hasn't missed a kick in
six games.
Speaker 3 (17:53):
You know, you're like, great, thank you?
Speaker 7 (17:55):
What right?
Speaker 2 (17:57):
I don't know if this is an unwritten rule, but
to a pent to add onto this, especially for college kickers,
because it's so temperamental, don't mention if they're a first
time kicker or they're a freshman, don't It's like I
think I always remember from the Kick six when Nick
Saban pulled the kicker who had missed twice and put
in a true freshman, and I'm just like, that is
the worst curse you could ever do. He's totally gonna
(18:19):
miss this.
Speaker 7 (18:20):
He's gonna miss it.
Speaker 4 (18:21):
That's a perfect example because all of this, like mentioning
a streak, mentioning that it's their first kick.
Speaker 3 (18:26):
Just say it after. Just say it after they've kicked
and made it, and you can still say this information.
Speaker 2 (18:32):
By the way, that was his first kick. Yes, by
the way, general a freshman kicker as well. It's like,
that's something I don't want to hear, right yeah, yeah,
ahead of time.
Speaker 3 (18:43):
You don't want to hear that. If you're a fan,
You're like, why would you put in a freshman a
kick right now? Like, that's not what you want to hear.
Say it after, say it after.
Speaker 4 (18:49):
Okay, there is one unwritten rule that I I like,
I'm not against it in baseball.
Speaker 9 (18:55):
What is it?
Speaker 4 (18:56):
This is gonna sound bad. It's gonna sound bad. You're
not supposed to hit a battery in retaliation.
Speaker 7 (19:00):
I knew you were going there.
Speaker 1 (19:01):
Why did I know that? I felt like that. I
felt the spicinges coming with this with this comment. I saw,
like start the glow of our chicks got red. I
was like, yeah, it's coming.
Speaker 4 (19:10):
It's It's not that I like it, it's that I'm
not against it, Like if you do something that's into
my boy and I'm pitching, I may I may accidentally
hit you.
Speaker 1 (19:24):
You know what I'm with Mancy on this.
Speaker 2 (19:26):
I appreciate this part of sports that really feels like
Eastern European blood feuds, like like the kind of feuds
that get taken back because sometimes they will remember a
like a pitcher or a batter for like months before
pinking the guy.
Speaker 3 (19:40):
Yeah, you know, you know what I'm saying. It's like,
this is to me, that is like protecting your dude.
Speaker 6 (19:44):
That's old school, take ten paces forward. I'm going to
turn around and get you type of dale. That's that's
what you're alluding to right now.
Speaker 1 (19:49):
Guys, Yes, yes I am, And it's that I want.
Speaker 4 (19:52):
It's not that I want to, like, you know, hit
you in the elbow and hurt you, but I'm gonna
hit you in the back just a little bit.
Speaker 3 (19:57):
Maybe it's still you know some me fine though. The
point is that you're going to be fine. That's my point.
Speaker 7 (20:03):
Carrie. What about the bottom of a big pile during
an NFL game? Are there any unwritten rules because we
know some guys are dirty, Like, is there no biting
stay away from the junk. There is zero unwritten rules
underneath the pile. That's what I thought.
Speaker 1 (20:18):
It is a free for all, free for all.
Speaker 6 (20:20):
I mean, you'll you'll be surprised people can bite through
Hilmet's It's it's pretty it's pretty awesome.
Speaker 1 (20:26):
What No, No, did that ever? Who is the worst bier?
Speaker 9 (20:29):
Who is?
Speaker 7 (20:29):
It didn't happened to me, But I know.
Speaker 1 (20:32):
You get out.
Speaker 7 (20:38):
I don't want that. I knew that'd bring back some flashbacks.
Speaker 4 (20:41):
Literally, he literally went into actually, yeah, you're like, I'm
not doing this, do you guys?
Speaker 7 (20:46):
Yeah, go get it, get that.
Speaker 3 (20:47):
Get so there's no really no unspoken rule of like
if we're under there, don't don't hit my junk, don't
bite me, don't poke me.
Speaker 6 (20:55):
No, it is poking in the eyes and biting. It's grabbing,
grabbing the the jewels, and it's a lot of things.
Speaker 7 (21:03):
Is that the real reason Cam Newton didn't go after
the fumble in the Super Bowl?
Speaker 1 (21:06):
Now you get it?
Speaker 7 (21:07):
Now you understand, Yes, let that go. Now you'd love
to get paid for that.
Speaker 3 (21:11):
Yeah, Now we're gonna every time we see somebody not
go into you.
Speaker 7 (21:14):
You'll know why.
Speaker 3 (21:14):
Now, Oh that's why they're gonna go into the pile.
He's probably had a bad experience himself.
Speaker 7 (21:19):
Exactly.
Speaker 3 (21:20):
Well, we are in for Covino and Rich. I am
Manci Belanos. This is Carrie Rhodes.
Speaker 4 (21:24):

coming on top of Angelry stat padding what people think
she's doing with her double double.

talk about, call us. Let's talk about it. It's a

Speaker 12 (22:48):
As everybody knows, we're the hosts of the award winning
Paully and Tony foodsco Show. Yeah, but instead of us
telling you how great we are, here is how Dan
Packrick described us when he came on our show.
Speaker 1 (22:58):
Quick, knowledgeable and fun, opinionated.
Speaker 11 (23:01):
What promo it wasn't talking about you? You took those
clips totally out of context.
Speaker 12 (23:08):
Oh yeah, well after this promo, I'm gonna take you
out and beat you.
Speaker 1 (23:12):
Let me put this into context. Shut up.
Speaker 12 (23:15):
Yeah, anyway, just listen to the Paully and Tony Fusco
Show on iHeartRadio, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Speaker 4 (23:29):
It is Fox Sports Radio Cavino and Rich not here today,
but don't worry. Monsy is here along with former All
Pro safety Harry Roads.
Speaker 7 (23:38):
I never gets tired of hearing that part, they're all
pro part.
Speaker 1 (23:41):
That's pretty pretty cool.
Speaker 3 (23:42):
I would just wear that around on a necklace. Yeah,
like all pro.
Speaker 1 (23:47):
I'll get something well up, just like.
Speaker 3 (23:51):
You know the kids nowadays, can we We're gonna get
a better one than we get a better one.
Speaker 1 (24:00):
What's about?
Speaker 3 (24:00):
You know? Like I'm just saying you could just have
that and then people will just all pro.
Speaker 1 (24:05):
Hey, I'll pro all pro, he all pro. Yeah, it'll
be cool.
Speaker 3 (24:08):
That's right.
Speaker 4 (24:09):
Thanks for joining us. You can follow Carrie on Twitter
at Carrie twenty five Roads. You can follow me at
Monte Bolanos. We were just talking about Angel Reese's consecutive
double doubles that a lot of people say she's stat
patting an unwritten rule in sports, one that Carrie and
I were not mad about.
Speaker 3 (24:27):
No, not mad about it at all.
Speaker 4 (24:28):
I said, I would probably have done the same thing,
you know, keep my streak alive if I had that opportunity.
There were other unwritten rules that we discussed that we
absolutely hated. One of them that I mentioned was if
you're out in public and you're listening to something on
your phone, wear headphones, yes, or.
Speaker 3 (24:44):
Step away from the public. I'm not asking for a
lot here, you guys. You know what I'm saying.
Speaker 5 (24:51):
You know what.
Speaker 6 (24:51):
The only reason I didn't agree with you guys on
that is because I'm kind of guilty of that one
a little bit. I'm always playing new music and trying
to see what it is, and I'd like to hear
it out loud out sometimes, so.
Speaker 3 (25:01):
You know you're gonna be at the grocery store listening.
Speaker 7 (25:04):
To obviously not in the sauna either. That's ridiculous.
Speaker 3 (25:07):
That's just that's that's the real story. That's true, real story.
Danny G. Do we have a caller and callers that
want to chime in on this?
Speaker 7 (25:15):
Yeah, let's start with Jay in Kentucky.
Speaker 4 (25:17):
Jay in Kentucky, you are on Cavino and Rich who
are off Gallivante, but Monty and Carry are here.
Speaker 3 (25:22):
What's up, guys?
Speaker 5 (25:24):
So I have one of each that I'll say really quickly.
Speaker 3 (25:27):
If that's okay, no, please go ahead.
Speaker 5 (25:29):
The sports one is when the game is out of
hand and the offense is taking a knee and then
the defensive line fires off like.
Speaker 7 (25:39):
That's a really good good one.
Speaker 1 (25:41):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (25:42):
Yeah, like if somebody is calling it, everyone calls it. Yes, yes,
we agree with you on that one. What's your other one?
Speaker 5 (25:48):
The last one is, well, you're in traffic and like
a merge lane. Can we see a car coming up
on the shoulder going around? Everybody? Do not let that
guy in?
Speaker 7 (26:00):
I love that.
Speaker 1 (26:02):
Is all Those people are the worst, trying to take
the shoulder.
Speaker 3 (26:05):
I will tell you the only time I'm okay with
someone taking the shoulder.
Speaker 4 (26:09):
And here's the thing it's I won't never know is
if you just sprittly, just spritly, need to get to
a restroom. Yes, you know what I'm saying, Like, if
you are in that position, then by all means, take
the shoulder.
Speaker 3 (26:22):
You know God's speed. I hope you make it to
the restroom.
Speaker 1 (26:24):
But in my mind that's never happen. He's trying to
get in front of me, trying to beat me.
Speaker 3 (26:29):
Oh don't like it. I agree with that. Yes, do
not let that person in.
Speaker 7 (26:34):
That's pretty good.
Speaker 3 (26:36):
I may, I may. I may actually be that person
that doesn't let people in.
Speaker 1 (26:40):
Oh I don't, yeah, of course not.
Speaker 7 (26:42):
Oh, I'm definitely going a little faster and I'm looking
at you.
Speaker 3 (26:44):
Yes.
Speaker 7 (26:45):
How about at a theme park, guys, ever been in
a long line you're waiting for that ride and you
see somebody cut in the middle of the line. As
a group, you've all been waiting a long time together.
You do not let that person come.
Speaker 3 (26:57):
You do not, and I will fight.
Speaker 2 (27:00):
Like.
Speaker 4 (27:00):
That's where I'm like, oh no, no, no, no, Like
I don't care. If you're four people away from me
and you cut, I'm gonna go around and be like, no,
you can't just cut all of us.
Speaker 3 (27:08):
Oh no, we know him. No you know you don't.
You don't know them. Stop playing stop. That is a
good one.
Speaker 1 (27:13):
Yes, if it's Indiana Jones at Disneyland, do not get
in front of me.
Speaker 9 (27:17):
Do not.
Speaker 7 (27:17):
It will be an altercation. Yeah. Yeah, the chances are
the rides gonna break down. Get to the ride anyways.
Speaker 11 (27:23):
It is.
Speaker 4 (27:23):
It's like you could cut behind me and talk to
the people behind me.
Speaker 7 (27:25):
Yeah, right behind me.
Speaker 3 (27:26):
It's behind it's right behind me.
Speaker 4 (27:27):
You see how they're doing. That's a good one. The
line one is good. The car, the traffic one, that's
a good one.
Speaker 7 (27:34):
Yes, uh.
Speaker 3 (27:35):
One that's like one that.
Speaker 4 (27:36):
Doesn't bother me as a as a lady. Maybe because
I grew up with brothers. It's like the unwritten rule of.
Speaker 3 (27:42):
Put the toilet seat down. I'm not really bothered by
that one as much. To be honest with you, I don't.
I don't know if I'm just so you because I
grew up with brothers.
Speaker 1 (27:50):
If I'm just like yeah, whatever, that's probably why, you know,
Like I.
Speaker 3 (27:52):
Walk in and I'm just like, yeah, it's up, I
get it.
Speaker 7 (27:54):
It's I think it's a written at a lot of houses,
it is.
Speaker 3 (27:58):
A written rule, and I'm just like, I'm not really
bothered by that one.
Speaker 6 (28:01):
And if it's not, it's if it's not a written
rule or an unwritten rule, it will be a sign
on the thing, written piece of tape that.
Speaker 7 (28:09):
Says flip it, flip it.
Speaker 3 (28:10):
Yes, yes no, and I and I get it. But
you're right, and Danny, that's probably is a written rule
in something in some households, but yeah, not not for
me at all.
Speaker 9 (28:19):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (28:19):
The there's like the other unwritten rule of you know,
the big ones with relationships, like don't date somebody that
like your friend dated at some point.
Speaker 3 (28:29):
That's an unwritten rule which.
Speaker 1 (28:30):
The bro code the bro code and and the and
the girl code.
Speaker 3 (28:33):
You know, don't don't do that because it's just it.
Speaker 4 (28:38):
No matter when people say I'm okay with it, they're not.
They're not, And it's just gonna change the entire relationship
that you have.
Speaker 7 (28:45):
That's true.
Speaker 3 (28:46):
You know, like even when you think you're okay with it,
it's I know you're not.
Speaker 1 (28:49):
You're okay, So you're not okay.
Speaker 3 (28:50):
So you're not okay. Oh, we're all gonna hang out together.
Speaker 1 (28:53):
Yeah, that's that's on a double date. No, that's I
think that's also.
Speaker 3 (28:59):
An unwritten rule.
Speaker 4 (29:00):
Everybody seems to be universally on the same page about right, Like,
all right, So I guess we're gonna take another caller.
Speaker 3 (29:06):
Hello, Welcome to Cavino and Rich.
Speaker 7 (29:08):
Go to Jimmy in Texas.
Speaker 3 (29:10):
Jimmy, Jimmy, Hello, Jimmy.
Speaker 7 (29:13):
Oh my bad, hang on one more button there, Jimmy Jimmy, Hello.
Speaker 3 (29:17):
Welcome to Cavina and Rich. Thanks for calling. What hundritten
rules do you have that maybe you hate you love
let us know?
Speaker 13 (29:25):
Yeah, what's up, monthy?
Speaker 9 (29:26):
What's up?
Speaker 5 (29:27):
All pro?
Speaker 11 (29:27):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (29:29):
I like you. We're gonna tell you're gonna get him
an ice chain it's gonna stick, I feel it.
Speaker 13 (29:39):
I was gonna say, like one of the ones that
I that for sports that I don't like, because I
was just like y'all were talking about earlier. I'm I'm
the type of guy that loves just the purity of
the sport. And it's like, hey, if you don't want
something to happen, stop it, you know. So I like
whenever people batslip and when whenever they get or whenever
the picture throws throw somebody out and they're not supposed
(30:01):
to like, you know, get pumped about it and not
supposed to do the bat flip when they when they
crank one yard. You know, it's kind of like, dude,
that's that's that's what it's about.
Speaker 9 (30:09):
Like show a little passion.
Speaker 14 (30:10):
I think that's great, you know, like that.
Speaker 9 (30:12):
That should have.
Speaker 13 (30:13):
That's one of those quote unquote unwritten roles that should
just be done away with.
Speaker 14 (30:16):
Let them let them have that fun.
Speaker 3 (30:19):
Yeah, yeman, I'm with you on that one. I don't
mind a little celebration, no, me, neither at all.
Speaker 6 (30:24):
Yeah, So excitement, I mean, the fans have come to
see you be excited about what you do when you're
out there, have some fun, with it. And I mean, obviously,
if the scores tend nothing and you're hitting the home run,
you might want to, you know, keep it down a
little bit. The teams are already on.
Speaker 7 (30:38):
The edge or right.
Speaker 4 (30:39):
And I think that's that's a perfect example carry where
it's like, Okay, are you going to do a bat
flip if it's tend to one? Maybe not like at
that point, just run the basis. But if you do,
all of a sudden hit a homer and then you've
taken the lead, bat.
Speaker 3 (30:52):
Flip, all you are, babe. I am into it.
Speaker 15 (30:54):
And in football, I love the creativity when it comes
to scoring, like a touchdown last year when the Dolphins
did like a roller coaster, they sat down, pull down
the roller coaster.
Speaker 3 (31:06):
And they went left and right. That was hilarious, fun creativity.
Speaker 9 (31:11):
I like it.
Speaker 3 (31:12):
And it's fun. Again, is a score seventy to seven? Okay,
maybe maybe not do that.
Speaker 4 (31:17):
It could have been, especially against the Dollars, Yes so,
but I don't think we saw that in that game.
So it really does matter a little A little bit
of context does matter as to when it comes to celebration.
Speaker 7 (31:29):
Another caller of teenager, Yeah, we got a couple in
Vegas standing by here, John, Let's start with him in
Las Vegas.
Speaker 3 (31:35):
All right, John in Las Vegas, Welcome to Cavino and Rich.
Speaker 13 (31:39):
Hello, Hello, I got I've got a customer.
Speaker 14 (31:44):
The lady, her husband and the two sons.
Speaker 13 (31:46):
She makes them squat to pee instead of lifting the
seat up.
Speaker 5 (31:51):
The splashing everything else. Wow, when you brought the thing.
Speaker 3 (31:56):
I handed call in that is a That is a
house rule. That seems like a house rule.
Speaker 7 (32:01):
And by the way, a written rule you have to
say you're innate when you're on the radio. True, you
do a.
Speaker 3 (32:07):
Writ rule, you do have to say you're an a yes.
Speaker 6 (32:10):
Yeah, no the restroom that one scared me for I
don't know. Yeah that was I was scared. I didn't
know where it was going. But yeah, no, I get it.
Speaker 7 (32:18):
What more are Yeah, we got another caller in Vegas,
trip trip trip.
Speaker 3 (32:22):
Welcome to Cavino and Rich. I'm Manti Carries here with me,
a former All pro safety happily help you.
Speaker 14 (32:28):
Excellent. I great to talk to you all. I got
to the kind of lead off of what y'all said.
Speaker 5 (32:34):
One.
Speaker 14 (32:34):
I can't stand when you're at the elevator and you've
already pressed the button up or down or a number,
and the person watches you. Then they come and press
the button.
Speaker 7 (32:45):
That right, make it go faster?
Speaker 3 (32:48):
You go faster.
Speaker 14 (32:50):
And the second thing driving? I hate this, especially living
in Las Vegas. When there's no one behind you. Put
the car from behind you flies past you, the cut
you off and turns in front of you. Just go
behind me, right I.
Speaker 3 (33:04):
I also don't understand why are you going toround? There's
space for everybody. Yes, you're just annoyed by me.
Speaker 7 (33:10):
Maybe that's what it is. They've been following you for
ten minutes months.
Speaker 1 (33:12):
They're done, They're done trip.
Speaker 3 (33:15):
Thank you for the call from Las Vegas. I agree.
You know when when people do hit the button after
you've already hit the button, you're like, what you didn't
think I hit the button right?
Speaker 7 (33:25):
Yes?
Speaker 3 (33:25):
That is you want to hit the button?
Speaker 4 (33:28):
Is that what that is?
Speaker 1 (33:29):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (33:29):
That's a good that triggered a little.
Speaker 1 (33:31):
You got the magic touch.
Speaker 4 (33:32):
I need a second because I got triggered by that.
Let's check in with Isaac Lowancron to see what's trending.
Speaker 1 (33:38):
Well, thank you, Monsi and Cari.
Speaker 3 (33:40):
Do you have unwritten rules at home?
Speaker 1 (33:43):
Don't talk back to you?
Speaker 3 (33:52):
And that's the update.
Speaker 1 (33:53):
Yeah, back to you pretty much. I mean, uh, that's
how love lasts in our household. I suppose can't say
I disagree with it.
Speaker 8 (34:04):
By the way, we start in the NBA Monsei and Carrie,
where ESPN reported a short time ago, New York Knicks
star Jalen Brunson has agreed to a four year, one
hundred and fifty six million dollar extension. Now, Brunston could
have waited until next summer to sign a five year,
two hundred and sixty nine million dollar extension, but he
(34:25):
basically sacrificed one hundred and thirteen million potential dollars in
order to give the Knicks more salary flexibility. In Major
League Baseball, Pittsburgh Pirates rookie phenom Paul Skeens has been
named the starting pitcher for the National League in the
All Star Game this Tuesday. National League manager Tory Lavello
broke the news to Skeens right here on Fox Sports
(34:47):
Radio this morning live on the Dan Patrick Show.
Speaker 9 (34:49):
Paul, First of all, how are you doing. I just
wanted to congradulate you. I've chosen you to be the
starter for the Nationally in the twenty twenty four All
Star Game. I'm really really excited for you. So unbelievable
honor and one that's so well.
Speaker 12 (35:07):
Thank you sir.
Speaker 7 (35:07):
That's that's unbelievable. That's awesome.
Speaker 8 (35:10):
Finally, Moncey and Carrie. At the upcoming Olympics, three of
the marathon swimming races and three triathlon events will be
held in Paris's legendary romantic Sen River. There's only one problem.
The Senn River contains unsafe levels of the bacteria E.
Speaker 11 (35:31):
Coli.
Speaker 8 (35:32):
The Mayor of Paris and Hidalgo insist the river will
be safe enough to host the competitions, even telling France
Enter Radio she plans to personally go swimming in the
river next week. Has mad Suits get your has mad
suits back to you, guys.
Speaker 3 (35:51):
Thank you.
Speaker 4 (35:51):
Isaac lowercrode Is Fox Sports Radio, Cavino and Rich are out.

All Star Game. Fox Sports Radio. You are listening to
Caveno and rich. But the fellas are out, don't you worry.
Speaker 4 (36:19):
I am Manci Bolanos here with former All Pro safety
Carry Roads.
Speaker 3 (36:24):
We are filling in for the guides, and we are
I said guides.
Speaker 4 (36:27):
You know, I'm just so I've been a guide for
so many times, many times in my life that I
just said gout, yes, yes, too many times.
Speaker 3 (36:33):
We're in for the guys today.
Speaker 4 (36:36):
So thanks for hanging out with us, and we are
coming to you live from the tyrat dot com studios,
and now we are gonna talk about another sensation in
sports happening right now.
Speaker 3 (36:45):
Like again, we started the show talking about.
Speaker 4 (36:47):
How this is a slow time, yeah to a lot
of sports fans, but we are getting the stories.
Speaker 3 (36:52):
We got good soccer, good tennis, great w NBA.
Speaker 4 (36:56):
And then we have this kid, I'm gonna say kid,
even though he's you know, a man, but kid in
my eyes, Paul Skeens, who has just becoming a sensation
in baseball in a way that we've never I don't
think we've ever seen, Like I was thinking about, have
(37:17):
we experienced a pitcher or a player like this like
Paul Skins was a number one draft pick just last
year and in baseball Unlike every other sport, the player
gets drafted, they go to the minor leagues, and sometimes
it can take years. Like we hear where it's like
this guy was playing for eleven years in the minor
leagues and just got called up.
Speaker 3 (37:37):
We hear that all the time. Paul Skins, not even.
Speaker 4 (37:39):
A year later, gets called up to make his MLB
debut and now has been named the NL.
Speaker 3 (37:45):
All Star Star.
Speaker 7 (37:47):
Turk crazy.
Speaker 3 (37:49):
I mean, I love this story and I'll tell you why.
Speaker 4 (37:52):
Because he's a Pittsburgh Pirate. That's why I love this story.
And I think most sports fans, Baseball fans feel the
same way. If he was a Yankee, nobody would be
this excited about.
Speaker 3 (38:05):
Him, right, nobody.
Speaker 7 (38:07):
No, they hate him.
Speaker 3 (38:08):
They'd hate him about him, uh huh. If he was
a Dodger, Oh, they would hate him a lot, a
lot of hate. But he's part of the Pirates, a team.
Speaker 4 (38:18):
That hasn't done a lot of damage in recent years.
Like you hear about them here and there, but not really.
And then all of a sudden, you have this guy
who is six and oh in his six starts, just
pitched a seven inning shutout and then they didn't let
him go back out and it's a big conversation.
Speaker 3 (38:35):
You should have let him go back out. I agree
with that, and.
Speaker 4 (38:38):
E er of one point nine zero eighty nine strikeouts,
like what are we doing? He's also a local guy
here now he's from Fullerton, but he went to LSU.
Has his girlfriend, Livy Dunn, who I also love, hay
girl gymnast at LSU. I really think that this is
such a good story for baseball because he's a.
Speaker 6 (39:00):
Yes, it's a great story for baseball because he's a pirate.
I'm going to say, enjoy that now while it lasts. Yeah, yeah, yeah, right,
So enjoy it at last. Pirates, you know, really put
him out there, really admire what he what he does,
show him as much love as you can because it
will not last long. And I don't want to be
(39:21):
Debbie Downer.
Speaker 3 (39:22):
That's not what it sounds like.
Speaker 6 (39:23):
I don't, But I'm a realist. I talk about that
a lot like, let's be based in real realism here.
So enjoy and why he can because the big bucks
are going to come in rolling and the big teams
who can afford him is going to try to poach
him away.
Speaker 7 (39:36):
So enjoy it now.
Speaker 4 (39:37):
Well, the Pittsburgh Pirates should look at what the Los
Angeles Angels have done when they've had two of the
best players but did not capitalize on the situation. Pirates
do not do that because it's kind of like the
Caitlyn Clark effect a little bit. Everywhere he goes, the
fans are going to go see him, whether it's an
away game or not. He was at an away game
and they give him a standing ovation.
Speaker 7 (39:57):
Did they really yes?
Speaker 3 (39:58):
When they took him out of the game.
Speaker 4 (40:00):
He is welcomed with open arms in the baseball world,
and I really don't remember the last time this happened
with anybody I know. Stephen Strasburg is the first guy
I think of two thousand and nine number one overall pick,
came right the next year, made his MLB debut and
was amazing, but injuries derailed his career. He did get
(40:21):
a World Series in his career, so lucky for him
that he was able to get that. But Steven Strasburg
was the last one, and again, two thousand and nine
is when he was a number one pick. I really
can't think of another player like this, but it's because
baseball is such a different format of like getting drafted
and then going to the minor leagues.
Speaker 1 (40:36):
Well, Strasburg nine, two thousand and nine.
Speaker 7 (40:40):
It's been that one.
Speaker 1 (40:41):
It's been that long, wow.
Speaker 4 (40:43):
Two thousand and nine, and made his debut June eighth,
twenty ten, and then that rookie year they shut him
down for the playoffs.
Speaker 3 (40:51):
If you remember that, yes, everybody.
Speaker 7 (40:53):
Was like, why that's a baseball girl.
Speaker 4 (40:56):
It's not no, you just remember you know, big story,
like certain stories, you know what I mean, you just
remember series and because he was such a big name.
Speaker 3 (41:02):
Yes, that's just it's just you remember that moment. But
they shut him down for the playoffs. And it was
because he was he had exceeded his like innings. Like, yes,
everybody was like, what what do you mean? You're gonna
shut him down for the playoffs? That was one of
the dumbest things ever. Hopefully that's not the situation here
with Paul Skeans. But I do think Paul Skins.
Speaker 4 (41:19):
By himself maybe making people baseball fans who weren't or
maybe were at one point and then kind of like
turned away. I think he's bringing them all back.
Speaker 1 (41:28):
It's a beautiful it's a beautiful story.
Speaker 6 (41:30):
Outside of the main stores that we already know the Yankees, Dodgers,
the Phillies, all the teams that we expect to be there.
This team and having a guy like that pissed the
way he has, it's been a beautiful store.
Speaker 3 (41:38):
It's been awesome, and it's just the beginning the Star and.
Speaker 4 (41:42):
It's also just the beginning of you and I here
for Cavino and Rich because we have a second hour
coming up. It is Friday, so we do have Friday
Hobnovin coming up. Don't go anywhere. We're gonna talk a
little Jayleen Brown, a little shit Dore Sanders, So don't
go anywhere.
Speaker 3 (41:56):
It's Cavino and Rich on Fox Sports Radiu
