Try fencing, fast, safe, easy to start. Find a beginner
class near you at USA Fencing dot org slash try Fence.
That's USA Fencing dot org slash try fencing. You know
what's cool about that is I don't know a whole
lot about fencing, but I feel like every TV show

(01:31):
I watched growing up, someone was trying it out, and
I always felt like I wanted to right then.

Speaker 1 (01:35):
You always see like some TV character Schroder or something.

Speaker 2 (01:40):
Sam.

Speaker 4 (01:42):
We had free fencing lessons offered at Iowa's a University
of iowas Fieldhouse, and I'd go Wednesday nights for a
couple of years.

Speaker 1 (01:49):
Yeah, it was cool.

Speaker 2 (01:49):
Are you saying that you have skills? It's been a while.
Could he enter you in a contest of on guard

the iHeartRadio app Cavino and Rich and stick around because

(02:20):
we've got prizes to give away this hour Mike's Wednesday
Words of Wisdom in just a few minutes. And of
course midweek major spots got the biggest stories in sports
and pop culture. But the weakest, most miserable story of
the day is Charlie Kirk. If you just got out
of work or you missed it somehow he did pass
away through. He was shot on a Utah campus and
it's just a really sad story, man. And I'm wondering, now,

(02:44):
is it gonna unite us or divide us?

Speaker 1 (02:46):
It's I'm really wondering. What an interesting question?

Speaker 2 (02:49):
Yeah, I'm really wondering. And look, I'll focus on the positive.
The one thing that does unite us is sports. So
that's why this is fun to talk about. Fun to
be here, football, baseball, going on, of fencing, you know,
take our mind off of that because there huh fency. Yeah,
I mean now that I know that, are you paying that.

Speaker 5 (03:10):
Behind hot dog eating now or in front of hot
dog eating? Is it the fourth or fifth major thought?

Speaker 2 (03:15):
Did anyone know that Sam was the guy I didn't know. No,
I found that you could get this. Are you surprised
you ever find out a skill about someone? This is interesting,
and you know what, I'm gonna save it for a
second because this is ch It reminds me of when
Kramer was taking Karate lessons, but he was fighting his
little kids. That's I was saying. Sam was fighting little

(03:35):
I tell you it was against second grader.

Speaker 1 (03:37):
I was the little kid facing adults.

Speaker 6 (03:40):
You have.

Speaker 2 (03:41):
I have a thought and it has to do with
a like almost like Niche specialized sports. But you know what,
let's try to get a winner from Mike's words of wisdom,
and then I will give you my thought because it's interesting.
You're right, you would never thought I was Sam was
a fencer, But I have an angle, So hang time,
but let's do this Mike's words of wisdom.

Speaker 1 (04:00):
It's time for the guy that runs this place.

Speaker 7 (04:03):
Just for clarification, guys, Big Mic does not run this place.
He is not in charge of everything. He has no
power over really anybody here. He does not run this place.

Speaker 6 (04:13):
It's big Mike's words of wisdom on a Wednesday.

Speaker 8 (04:21):
You are what you do, not what you promise you'll do.
Character is defined by deed, not words.

Speaker 1 (04:32):
How's a long way? I'll say that's what she said.

Speaker 6 (04:36):
What is it?

Speaker 1 (04:37):
One time? One more time?

Speaker 8 (04:39):
No?

Speaker 1 (04:40):
Okay? For the name of the game is to repeat
it verbatim.

Speaker 5 (04:42):
But we usually do play it twice though if it's longer.

Speaker 1 (04:46):
Come on, big Mic.

Speaker 8 (04:50):
You are what you do, not what you promise you'll do.
Character is defined by deep not words.

Speaker 1 (05:01):
I like that.

Speaker 2 (05:02):
That's why we bring Mike to the show. It's not
fair that only we were exposed to his wisdom all
the time. We wanted to share that with you, guys.
Make the world a better place. Humanity needs help. Eight seven, seven,
nine to nine on Fox. If you could repeat those
words verbatim, you were His words are like golden words

(05:23):
for Mic. These are words of wisdom. You got a
Fox Sports Radio could be done. Rich and their football
just in time for fools Ball season. As we enter
week two in a day, can you believe that we
got the Charlie Sheen documentary tonight winning?

Speaker 5 (05:35):
I didn't stop fibbing Rich. They're not even ordered yet,
but we'll give you an io you and no, but
we we picked out just the right football.

Speaker 2 (05:41):
It's gonna be a for those of you who've been
with us for a minute, we had bribery balls one
of our first prizes. These footballs are different, so if
you won in the past, you're gonna get a different football,
which is kind of cool. So we're gonna give way
prizes if you could repay.

Speaker 1 (05:57):
Repeat that.

Speaker 2 (05:59):
Yeah, word for weird see word for weird. So eight
seven seven ninety nine on Fox. While we get your
phone calls, let's talk about yo. Chris Boswell of the
Pittsburgh Steel And this ties into I was Sam letting
you know that he fenced. I just I just oddly
have two stories where well, actually, when you don't know

(06:22):
people when they grow up, when you meet them as
an adult coworkers, parents at the school, you know, you
end up meeting people you have no clue about their
freaking childhood. I recently found out one of the dads
who I see at school he did like gymnastics in college.
And I saw a picture of him like you know
when you when you're like pushing yourself up on two rings.

Speaker 1 (06:42):
Like oh yeah, and I'm like, wait, that's you. He
was showing bulge and it's been like bulg just shorts.

Speaker 2 (06:48):
Yeah, And I have a friend that's like, yeah, when
I used to dive in high school.

Speaker 1 (06:51):
My dive in high school?

Speaker 2 (06:53):
Do you mean She's like yeah, like I like Jack
Coustav's like she's she told me she used to be
able to do like two flip into a dive. I'm like, oh,
like Thornton Mellon, Oh are you kidding me? Like Greg lugainis.
And it got me thinking about like niche sports and
and things you would never.

Speaker 1 (07:09):
Think Olympic sports. You sounds like you're describing Olympics. Yes,
it's things that you would never think someone you know did.
Like I got a buddy that played water polo in college.
I'm like, wait, you're treading water that whole time. Didn't
wife used to throw a shot put rich? She did not?
Yes she did, but uh no, I did the pole
vault and I got my junk stump remember that? Oh wait?
That was that was not me me.

Speaker 2 (07:28):
You know what, it's kind of cool because you know
what it is in a weird way, is of cornering
the market because not everyone's going for that. I have
the best story. You thought you had the best story.
I have the best story ever, I think. And again
we're gonna tell you about Chris Boswell, kicker of the
Steelers in a minute. But I think the best story
was actually told to us by a guy named Ariel Helwani.

(07:51):
He was on our show and I said, Ariel, how'd
you get like so locked into the fight world. I'm
a big fight fan, but how did you get so
locked and connected to UFC and everything like that? And
Ariel said to us, you know, really, I'm a baseball guy,
and I always want to be a baseball broadcaster. I
believe he was an Expos fan, like a Montreal guy, right,

(08:13):
and he's, like, you know, a huge.

Speaker 1 (08:14):
Baseball fan, also a Syracuse graduate.

Speaker 2 (08:16):
And I saw an opportunity to be the only guy
that cared about mixed martial arts in this way. I
saw an opportunity to be the voice of mixed martial
arts in UFC because no one else was doing.

Speaker 1 (08:31):
He ingratiated himself to that fan base.

Speaker 2 (08:33):
So he said, all right, I always love baseball, but
there's more opportunity if I take a chance on being
that guy and hoping that this sport blows up, and
as it blows up, my career will also advance. And
he took that chance, took the road less traveled. Yeah,
and that's made all the difference. I'm sure there's someone
that said, let me attach myself to the WNBA, or

(08:55):
someone that said, you know what banana ball, so that
bananas Maybe I'll be like the main correspondent. Like there's
you know, when you take a chance on something niche
or niche, it will sometimes pay off.

Speaker 1 (09:07):
And I think Arieljlani is a great example.

Speaker 2 (09:09):
Yeah, he took a gamble on UFC becoming what it
is today, and you know, took that ride with Dana
White and mixed martial arts. As the sport grew, he
became more valuable as a broadcaster. But he saw the
opportunities also having that wherewithal and that foresight, that john

(09:30):
foresite to make that move and make that gamble and
believe in in yourself. I'm a I'm a believer in
looking for those little opportunities right well, because the other
opportunities are oversaturated, that's the point. Yeah, Like you know what,
it's sort of it's it's sort of the theory of
like not everyone could be the quarterback. And the Boswell

(09:50):
story is interesting, you know, the the assassin who just
kicked a sixty yard field goal to beat the Jets
to the guy that was insane, the guy who uh
by Tomlins like he's cold blood. Honestly, Aaron Rodgers owes
him like an edible arrangement of stak dinner. I was
gonna say steak dinner, yeah, like something like seriously think
He's like, listen, man, you helped me win the first
game against my former team steak dinner on Aaron Rodgers

(10:15):
sixty yardfield goal. And the story Jenny Danny g hit
us up with was when he was in high school,
they went around the locker room and said, what do
you want to be?

Speaker 1 (10:25):
What position are you trying out for? What's your name?
What position? Yeah, what's your thing?

Speaker 2 (10:29):
And he said, like Chris Buzzwill, I want to be
the place kicker, And everybody laughed at him and the
coach and.

Speaker 1 (10:34):
Everyone's like, that's it.

Speaker 3 (10:38):
You know.

Speaker 2 (10:38):
I kind of relate because when I was a little
kid and all the other kids stood up, Andy're like,
I want to be a fireman, I want to be
a policeman. I stood up proudly and said I want
to be an ass man, and everybody laughed, and every
and everybody laughed. But I'm the greatest man as man.

Speaker 3 (10:53):
I am an asthma astronaut.

Speaker 2 (10:55):
No no, no, and everyone laughed, but I meant it
and look at me now, so so think about that.
He's like, yo, I am Chris Boswell and I want
to be a kicker.

Speaker 1 (11:06):
And it was a kicker? What a lame o? You
want to have one stupid face mask? Bar you loser?
Reggie rob me and they all laughed at him.

Speaker 2 (11:14):
But when you think about it, he had his his
career set and mindset on something that people don't normally
like gravitate. Not an easier path, but just a more
unique path. But I think that makes all the difference.
Like we said before, as I quoted Robert Frost, but
you wouldn't know that because you're a cave boy.

Speaker 1 (11:32):
Last book I read was Where the Wild Things Are. Yeah.
I think about.

Speaker 2 (11:37):
This a lot when I coach kids, right because I
coach my daughter's softball et. You, I coach my son's
little Shetland t ball team, and I do see some
of the kids gravitating towards.

Speaker 1 (11:50):
Like, hey, coach, can I try catching?

Speaker 2 (11:52):
And I'm like, you know, at that age, if you're
the kid that's brave enough to put on the gear
and catch you might find yourself on the old star team.
You might find yourself to be the kid that everyone
looks to as time goes on and everyone gets older.

Speaker 1 (12:06):
It's like a specialty position.

Speaker 2 (12:09):
You could very well be the kid moving forward that
when everyone else is fighting over like I want to
be short stop, I want to pitch, I want.

Speaker 1 (12:15):
To and you might just be a world catch, not
just in sports.

Speaker 2 (12:18):
We live in a place where a niche is the mainstream,
meaning if you really want to make an impact in broadcasting,
in podcasting, in life, being mainstream isn't gonna be it.

Speaker 1 (12:33):
Good luck there.

Speaker 2 (12:34):
It's finding the niche that's your path to success nowadays,
in in our world and in and in sports, I
think you have a better chance of saying early on,
I want to be a catcher and then making it
because there's less options with catchers, lefty catchers, guys like

(12:54):
Cal Rawley, let's switch hitting catchers. There's so few and
far between. You also need a passion sport. But I
did find the list recently, and I'm sure I'm not
the first person that gave this list a look and said, huh,
it was what sports are the easiest to get full
ride scholarships for and it's like, you know, like women's

(13:17):
field hockey are certain sports where you want to look
at your kids would be like, hey, kiddo, how do
you feel about this one? Because there are paths you
could take that have some good opportunities. And to know
that Boswell was a guy early on that he's like, no,
I'm not trying to I'm not faking the funk. I'm
not a place, I'm not a quarterback, I'm not a
running back. I'm not trying to be a wide receiver.

(13:37):
I'm kicking please.

Speaker 1 (13:39):
Yeah, and uh.

Speaker 2 (13:40):
It led to a great moment this past weekend and
a really cool story. No one else wanted to do that.
So there's so many ways to look at this. Is
it positions that people just don't respect, but yet are
still important. And when I say don't respect, I mean
because you really don't want to play them. When you're
a kid, did you really want to be a catcher?

Speaker 3 (13:58):
Hell no?

Speaker 1 (13:58):
Yeah, do you want to be a long snow?

Speaker 2 (14:00):
But if you focus on that specialty, you have a
greater chance of making it. It's a good way to
solidify a position in life, a position at your office.
You gotta be able or be willing to take on
those things that not everybody wants to do to solidify
your position. It's a great way to separate yourself. And
props to Boswell for I keep.

Speaker 1 (14:22):
Wanting to see Bosworth.

Speaker 2 (14:24):
Props to Chris Boswell for recognizing that at a really
early age. Like I said, Rich, if you were set
out to do a podcast right now and you're like, well,
what's your podcast about, and you said, you know everything, guys, stuff,
sports and women, good luck. But if you said, yeah,
I'm going to specialize in a fish sticks, you have
a greater chance of making a success out of that

(14:47):
niche subject. I mean it is to be vague and
in quote unquote mainstream. I mean luckily. I guess for
us that we were sort of a grandfather grandfathered into like, hey,
we do just a show. But if you were starting
from scratch now, if some young intern or producer was like,
you have to what do you think.

Speaker 1 (15:02):
You should do in today's world?

Speaker 2 (15:03):
Like I would almost be like, dude, do a podcast
only on the La Kinks. Do do a podcast only
about hot dog geating. I don't know anyone that's doing
one exactly. It has to be that to make it
and then you find your audience there. Yeah, you have
to if you want to make it in sports man. Yeah,
being a kicker, being a catcher. Is there anything else
that stands out like that underrated scholarship potential they're saying diving, swimming,

(15:28):
field hockey are very high in the list, and also
more obscure track and field stuff like like shot put
and you know, javelin and stuff that you'd be like, really, okay,
the field part of track.

Speaker 1 (15:40):
Give us the field of the track and field.

Speaker 2 (15:42):
Yes, So just just a reminder that not everyone, as
as they say in the band, not everyone's the lead singer.
You need a bass player, Not everyone's the quarterback, a
shortstop or pitcher. You need the place kicker, You need
a tambourine man. You need a tambourine man. And I
also think that it's cool for Chris Bosbow to tell
that story because he was laughed at, but he was

(16:03):
a hero this past weekend. So it's a great story
for kids. Hey, look at him, laughed at him. Look
at Matt Praeter. He looked like a reject from Fallout Boy,
and he was the hero of Sunday night football. Yeah,
he was twenty some of year old guy haircut. All right,
let's Chris Boswell. Let's say hi to Ray in Jackson, Tennessee.

Speaker 1 (16:20):
Ray there, I am, Hey, Ray.

Speaker 2 (16:23):
All right, so we're gonna play well, actually, we're not
gonna play it. We're gonna queue you up here. Let
it simmer and if you can repeat Mike's words of wisdom.
You get that in their football all right.

Speaker 3 (16:31):
But yeah, we'll play the music, same music.

Speaker 2 (16:33):
Make need the words for me to make you sound smart. Here,
let me find my flute. Hold on a second, go ahead.

Speaker 3 (16:39):
Ray, let it simmer. Okay, really nice comino if you
do not what.

Speaker 6 (16:59):
Hey, Danny interrupted him.

Speaker 1 (17:04):
He was like, no, sorry, buddy, Hey, he's always next week.
He didn't.

Speaker 3 (17:08):
He didn't get it though.

Speaker 1 (17:09):
He's got to be verbade him. We started the race
at the same time, Ashton and Charlotte. You ready Ashton? Hello, yeah,
you ready to do this or what?

Speaker 2 (17:21):
Yes, sir, I'm ready take it away.

Speaker 5 (17:26):
You are what you do, what you promise you'll do.

Speaker 2 (17:33):
Character is defined not words.

Speaker 1 (17:39):
Yeah, that's a winner. He got it.

Speaker 2 (17:42):
Hey, we got good job, buddy. You just want yourself.
Bribery ball a new one, a new one updated in
ner football and as soon as we get our shipment,
we'll be sending him out coozies in there too.

Speaker 3 (17:55):
It's an I owe you, Ashton. Those are ryle Us.
Congratulations Ashton, appreciate it.

Speaker 1 (18:01):
Thank you job, Ashton.

Speaker 2 (18:03):
I feel like he's wiser just for playing the game.
That's what I feel as well.

Speaker 1 (18:06):
I will listen.

Speaker 2 (18:07):
We got spots words that. When the Spot has the
words wisdom. Spot has midweek major coming up. We'll go
with the hottest stories in the world of sports and entertainment.
Plus Dan Buyer's got an update, maybe some NFL he
raised on some injuries before we move on there. Don't
you feel like you were taking the path less traveled
by when you said I want to be a radio
tycoon and then look what happened. Everyone thinks they're a broadcaster.

(18:29):
Now it's the weirdest thing.

Speaker 1 (18:30):
It is interesting.

Speaker 2 (18:30):
That's why I always felt like when I chose this,
and I did, I chose to be on a microphone,
and well, I thought I was gonna be playing music
for the rest of my life, right Metallica on K Rock.
I felt like, how unique I am to be that guy?
And now everyone does it and their socks in their
basement everyone's got fun so and everyone thinks he deserve

(18:53):
to be on a microphone.

Speaker 1 (18:54):
What was that quote we saw that the girl that's
gone viral.

Speaker 2 (18:56):
Oh there's a girl. She's like, I had a friend once,
how me, don't love your job, job your love? And
the podcast was just like, oh.

Speaker 3 (19:07):
I love that. Oh I love it. I love it.

Speaker 2 (19:10):
Don't you hear me? Guys, don't love your job, job
your love. And the worst part about it, Danny is
comnos right. The other person was like, oh my god,
I love that and just that ridiculous. Not everyone deserves
a microphone. I know where two buffoons having fun, But
not everyone deserves a microphone.

Speaker 5 (19:31):
Now that this makes sense because over the weekend you
promoted the best of the week. Yes, and that was
the bubble caption over Rich's big head.

Speaker 1 (19:38):
Yea, Rich is thinking.

Speaker 3 (19:39):
I was so confused. What does that mean?

Speaker 2 (19:41):
Don't oh yeah, don't love your job, job you're love.
It's all about work life balance.

Speaker 1 (19:46):
Wait I love that. Yeah, I know, I write it down. Guys,
you know what love that and love Midweek Major should.

Speaker 3 (19:52):
Use that on your Fishtick podcast.

Speaker 2 (19:54):
You'll see it's gonna be big, Danny g you can
produce it. If you want, we got more you know,
and Rich next right here Fox Sports Radio. Hang tight,

way tire buying should be. And now is the time
of the week where we handed over to Spot oh
exciting for.

Speaker 6 (22:45):
Midweek Major, Covino and Rich get you over the middle
of the week where mid.

Speaker 3 (22:52):
Week Major Major Oh.

Speaker 6 (22:54):
I love that we throw sports and pop culture headlines
and topics at the fellas and it's like the kids.

Speaker 9 (23:01):
Say, that's summit.

Speaker 6 (23:02):
We definitely major see it our scoring Midweek Major.

Speaker 5 (23:08):
Yeah, I feel like I should kind of go slow
because nine minutes might be too much for way too
much time.

Speaker 3 (23:14):
All right, Before we hand.

Speaker 5 (23:15):
Things over to the number one and only hosts this segment,
we roll the two Big Red Love Dice the main studio.

Speaker 3 (23:19):
Way too much.

Speaker 1 (23:21):
Nine I rolled the four Rich roal to nine.

Speaker 3 (23:23):
Ah, the ritual wins. That means he gets the first take.

Speaker 5 (23:26):
And now, ladies and gentlemen, the most famous person from
Scotch plains New Jersey boy beside Judy Bloom Spotty boy guys,
oh high Spot.

Speaker 2 (23:35):
That's accurate because I feel like his own brother is
more popular than him. Jay Rock was pretty popular, and
Scott playing he is, no one really liked you in
your hometown.

Speaker 9 (23:44):
You know, when I go back to my hometown, did
the Charlie Brown steakhouse? I really like know nothing about
my hometown.

Speaker 2 (23:50):
Yeah, And Spot's brother, Jay Rock, was an EMC at
the Jersey Shore and he was a pretty popular Guido
growing Hey, not of the most popular person in your family.

Speaker 3 (23:57):
Right, it's kind of anyway.

Speaker 1 (23:59):
That I was just stalling here, all right.

Speaker 9 (24:02):
So Sophie Cunningham Stunningham is calling out Chicago Sky's Angel
Reese her public comments on her team's shaky season. So
on this week's episode of her Show Me Something podcast,
Cunningham said that Reese's comments should be kept to the
locker room. Reese's apologized for her comments since on the team.

(24:22):
You know, when she commented on the team's performance and
the team's roster. Cunningham said, I'm a very team first person,
always put the team before my feelings, and I think
that should be a standard. You can't be saying everything
you're feeling because that's not a good look, and went
on to say that public drama only causes a division
in the locker room, and she said there should be
some sort of consequence for it, maybe even a fine.

Speaker 1 (24:44):
So midweek or major. I think it's major. I love drama.

Speaker 2 (24:50):
That's what keeps the WNBA going without without Caitlin Clark.
You see the ratings, you see everything as dropped dramatically,
So I think you keep these little storylines going. When
Angel Reese Sophie Cunningham, I think Angel rees calling out
the team is not.

Speaker 1 (25:05):
A good look.

Speaker 2 (25:06):
That's it's like immaturity. I think that I think there
should be a fine involved. So I'm team Sophie Cunningham.

Speaker 3 (25:12):
On this one.

Speaker 2 (25:13):
Well, when Rich and I agree, it's gotta be fat.
Can't be talking smack about your team. Can't be talking
smack about your team. That's a given right, that's uh
sports one on one.

Speaker 1 (25:24):
Keep it in the locker room.

Speaker 2 (25:25):
But where I really agree with you, Rich, is the
WNBA needs the drama. I'm sorry without it, not enough
people care. I'm not saying people don't care, but not
enough people care. So lean into it all you can,
those rivalries, the smack talk.

Speaker 1 (25:40):
It's great for the sport. It really is cool, all right.

Speaker 9 (25:44):
Musician Morgan Wallen known for doing his walkouts at his concerts,
usually showing him walking out of the tunnel with someone
from the city he's performing in when he's on his tour. Well,
Monday night, Morgan Wallen decided to invite former Blue Jays
slugger Jose Tista to join him ahead of the second
night of his I'm the Problem door at the Rogers

(26:05):
Center in Ontario.

Speaker 1 (26:06):
So while they were walking.

Speaker 9 (26:07):
Paused to tube Bautista's iconic bat flip and he did
a little swing toss the bat. What he didn't realize
was off to the side. Batista's wife, Niche was filming
and in the video scene on social media, the bat
is flipped directly into the camera. It's like POV right
to the face, and so she went on she actually

(26:28):
the pair actually continued. They didn't realize what was going on.
They just kept walking out of the tunnel. But she
posted the video on her social media, joking and saying
that she is okay, acknowledges it was an accident made
week or major.

Speaker 2 (26:39):
I mean to the face, roof down our door, a
door style for a Bautista.

Speaker 1 (26:44):
I saw this video and I'm like, my god.

Speaker 2 (26:46):
I teach my kids when I coach five and six
year olds, like hold the bat, put it down, don't
swing it around to the people, don't throw it. What
did he think was gonna happen? You think he gives
Willy Milly throw a bat. I mean, you don't expect
anybody to be back there backstage. I mean hit his wife,
of all people. I say, this is a hey, he's
pretty major. I mean she's okay. So it's a minute
kind of major.

Speaker 1 (27:06):
To safety.

Speaker 2 (27:07):
First, there was a really famous Gary Sanchez clip a
few years back where so one was swinging in the
batter's box almost hits him in the face.

Speaker 1 (27:14):
I do remember that. Yeah, mine, inch gotta be careful there,
and Morgan Wallen good for him? All right?

Speaker 3 (27:21):
Cool?

Speaker 9 (27:22):
So Travis Kelce a new episode of the New Heights
podcast came out. Of course, there's always revelations on that.
Speaking out about the Xavier Worthy injury from Friday Nights
Chief Charger season opener in Brazil. He's taking full accountability
for the play in which he rammed into worthy shoulder.
He said, I wasn't ready for the first drive. I
ran into one of my guys and off him out

(27:43):
of the game. It's hard to get your juices back
going knowing that you just heard a guy. He spoke
about how frustrating it is. Went on to say, I've
got to be better. I'm thirteen years in the league.
There's no excuse for me running into my own guys
like that. There's no word on whether Worthy is how
he's doing. Actually, Andy Reda did speak out today saying

(28:04):
that he doesn't plan on having a season ending injury.
He's currently rehabbing the shoulder, so he may be back
on the field sooner than you think. But truck Kelsey
wanted to say he could barely play for the rest
of the half until he found out that Worthy was
in good spirits and said he owes this guy one
midweek or major I.

Speaker 1 (28:18):
Mean major crossing route. You bump into your guy. It happens.

Speaker 2 (28:22):
In fact, to Kelsey addressed it, I think shows maturity. Yeah,
but I think Kelsey's got bigger things on his mind
because him and Mahomes just opened the steakhouse.

Speaker 1 (28:31):
I know, I saw that fifteen eighty seven.

Speaker 2 (28:32):
They just had the opening and they have the big
Yetti drink named after Kelsey and Mahomes has a drink.

Speaker 1 (28:38):
He's got so many things going on. It's another one
called alchemy.

Speaker 8 (28:41):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (28:42):
For Taylor, I think there's just so much going on
in his life. The fact that he address bigger story.
In fact, I think they need to focus on football
that happened in fifteen eighty seven.

Speaker 1 (28:52):
I don't know what happened in fifteen days. Are you
thinking of the great stink of eighteen sixty fifty?

Speaker 3 (28:57):
Are you?

Speaker 2 (28:57):
I'm choking and I know it's their numbers. Trying to
think of I can't. I don't have much. Some bad
stuff happened in fifteen He's thinking stuff pretty you had
me think. But anyway, I think it is major Rich
and I are three for three. I actually agree with
him on everything. I think it's a major story. Kelsey
is a major star. And the fact that he's thirteen
years in the league and we're seeing that maturity, and

(29:18):
the fact that you still could learn a few things
and want to improve thirteen years into the league.

Speaker 1 (29:22):
I think it's a testament to his dedication to the sport.
Got all right? Yeah.

Speaker 2 (29:27):
Oh and by the way, fifteen eighty seven, Sam, that
began the decline of the Ming dynasty.

Speaker 1 (29:33):
All that for that's why that way? Ye, that's very big,
all right.

Speaker 9 (29:36):
Mike Tyson, our guy, Mike Tyson appeared on the latest
episode of the Katie Miller Podcast Who and made some
interesting revelations. So on the serious side, we'll touch on
that first. He talked about a lot about how during
his time the Heyday, when he was boxing, he was
using the drug fentanyl to handle pain during his career.
At the time, it was very unknown it was legal

(29:58):
to use, but he said, and not many people had
heard of it, but he was using it to mask
the pain. And he said, once you get off of it,
you start withdrawing and the pain just comes back. So
he was using it regularly. On the fun side, we'll
switch to that. Miller asked at the end if he'd
rather be forced to watch The Notebook, the movie The
Notebook every Friday night, or never watch sports again. And

(30:19):
we found out in that moment that The Notebook is
one of Mike Tyson's favorite films. He says he regularly
watches it, loves the movie, loves the love Story.

Speaker 2 (30:28):
So Midweek or Major, I mean anything with Mike Tyson,
I'll call major.

Speaker 1 (30:32):
I love Mike Tyson. In fact that he loves The
Notebook just adds to me liking him more.

Speaker 2 (30:36):
I love The Notebook, But I think that story, that
whole story that you just told their spot totally encapsulates
why we love Mike Tyson because he has these issues
clearly with Fent and all, and at the same time,
like I love The note He's a very flawed man
but also has this weird, vulnerable side where you love
crazy sides like Mike Tyson's a man that you could

(30:57):
equally be like, what the Hell's wrong with this guy?

Speaker 1 (30:58):
And like I love him.

Speaker 10 (30:59):
I love at the Comedies, I love Rachel mcgaddam, The Gothlin,
I love I love The Love Vope, I love love
Sarah Dippity's my favorite movie.

Speaker 1 (31:09):
There You Go, any Other Christ Season one.

Speaker 9 (31:11):
More so, Peyton Manning has revealed that he's setting his
sites very high when it comes to guests of the
Manning cast he hosts with his brother, So during Monday
Monday Night's season debut between the Viking.

Speaker 3 (31:23):
During the bite Vikings.

Speaker 9 (31:24):
Bears game, Peyton told his brother Eli that he did
everything he could to secure not all his holiness, Pope
Leo the fourteenth as a guest on the Manning Cast. So,
the American born pope is from Chicago, self proclaimed sports fan,
Bears fan. I assume definitely a White Sox fan, he said, Uh,
you know, he joked, kind of like when you recled

(31:44):
failed to recruit Randy Moss to Tennessee. He couldn't close
the Pope. He showed that he wrote two handwritten letters,
one to the Pope, one to the Pope's assistant trying
to get him on the show. So he went on
to make a plea directly on the Manning cast, saying
that there's an open invite for the Pope to come
by any time in week of Major Well, I mean the.

Speaker 1 (32:02):
Pope does like Chicago sports team.

Speaker 2 (32:04):
Hey, maybe he was watching, maybe he was watching early
morning in uh in Italy. I'll say this, a handwritten
letter goes a long way. When when someone writes you
a handwritten letter, this there is something a little more personal.
So the fact that Peyton Manning I saw the letter.
It was like two pages of his uh you know, penmanship,
like dear dearest, Pope Peyton here, my dearest and I

(32:26):
I don't think he'll get him, but that would be wild.
I think it's everybody say never. I think it's major.
You don't think he'll get Travis. If Kelsey got Taylor
Swift just from shooting his shot, they could shoot their
shot with the Pope and make it happen. I think
it's the power of the letter. I think it's major
Comino if he gets the Pope. I think him reaching
out is well, how do you do it? You gotta

(32:48):
you gotta throw it out there, right. So it's the
power of the written letter, but also the power of
simply asking people. I think he's on the right track.
I think it's possible. I don't think it's impossible to
get the Pope to be on the podcast. Thanks guys,
so cool.

Speaker 1 (33:02):
All right with that, let's go to our friend in yours,
Dan Buyer for an update.

Speaker 3 (33:06):

U C. Davis following the assassination of conservative activist Charlie
Kirk on the school's campus earlier today.

Speaker 3 (33:17):

Speaker 7 (33:19):

presidents on the campus because of today's circumstances. In NFL News,
forty nine Ers head coach Kyle Shanahan's's quarterback Brock Perty
