Speaker 1 (00:33):
Are they Midweek or Fleager?
Speaker 2 (00:35):
So many stories are juicy, though I can tell you
one of them is major to me already. See we
got Mike's Wednesday Words of Wisdom, which means giving away
prizes our CNR on FSR Turbo Football, So stick.
Speaker 1 (00:49):
Around for that.
Speaker 2 (00:49):
We're broadcasting live from the Fox Sports Radio studio. Sesame
Street helped raise all of us. Now it's our turn
donate this holiday season at Sesame dot org because the
world needs Sesme and Sesme needs.
Speaker 1 (01:00):
You know what I'm thinking about. As we're just hanging
on Covino Rich. Have eve been with us for years?
You know the story.
Speaker 2 (01:07):
But if you're new, Kavina very close to his Uncle Joey. Yeah,
he's like an older brothers my mom's younger brother.
Speaker 1 (01:15):
Mom's younger brother. But when your mom has a younger
brother that's significantly younger and you're the first born. Like yeah,
like you said, more of an older brother, Yeah, Uncle
joe back of the day, but an absurd amount of
tickle me elmos thinking. You know, remember during the rage
of tickle me elmos.
Speaker 2 (01:34):
Yeah, this has to be the late nineteen hundred, so right, yeah,
because people are freaking out about him, They're like the
big thing.
Speaker 1 (01:39):
But Joey bought it slightly after the big tickle me
Elmo boom. Yeah, he thought he was gonna make millions,
and instead he was just stuck with like a hundred
tickle me I think, yeah, I swear to I'll mean
we're some someday. I think he still has them. He
couldn't get rid of him. I'm pretty sure he still
has them. He's like, yeah, to make a fortune sitting
(02:01):
on a gold mine, he's sitting on a pile of
tickle me yelmows the beanie babies. I'm sure. Uh, you
know what, we got a lot to get to this hour.
We're gonna talk a lot of NFL. There's some NFL stuff.
I want to get to a baseball story. I know
it's the off season, but I think that's a baseball
story worth investigating. You said you had a plan, a plan.
You said you had a plan, Yes, you did. You
(02:23):
said I got a plan. You said, here's what we're
gonna do. You said it was all laid out in
my head. Yeah, remember it in my head, all laid out.
You forgot what it was, Mike Tyson want to say, Yeah,
the on air light came on, and everyone has a
plan until you punched in the face. Who punched you
in the face?
Speaker 3 (02:39):
I think which has a plan until the on air
light turns?
Speaker 1 (02:41):
Life punched me in the face.
Speaker 4 (02:42):
Do you guys need me to punch you in the
face right now?
Speaker 1 (02:44):
It's big Mike, Why don't we do this? I have
a plan I face right now.
Speaker 5 (02:49):
If you want the.
Speaker 3 (02:50):
Plan, Omaha, omaha, call in audible.
Speaker 1 (02:52):
The plan is Big Mic, who runs this place. Who
is going to give us his words of wisdom? If
you could repeat them verbatim, you're gonna win a Covino
rich nerf Turbo football. Then we're gonna talk some NFL
and some baseball how about that. Let's do it.
Speaker 2 (03:11):
Let's I have another question too that has to do
with everyone's Spotify rapped and some music too, so I'll
try to squeeze that in there.
Speaker 1 (03:20):
All right, let's do this. I would Sam hit it.
It's time for the guy that runs this place.
Speaker 6 (03:26):
Just for clarification, guys, Big Mic does not run this place.
He is not in charge of everything. He has no
power over really anybody here. He does not run this place.
Speaker 7 (03:35):
It's Big Mike's words of wisdom on a Wednesday.
Speaker 1 (03:39):
Mike, does it hurt your feelings when you hear Dan
Bayer say that?
Speaker 4 (03:41):
It does? Actually, Dann Bayern makes me sad. I mean,
if we didn't go back so far, I guess I
can forgive him for it, because you know, do.
Speaker 5 (03:51):
You want to know the real background of that intro?
Speaker 1 (03:54):
Yes?
Speaker 6 (03:55):
I thought I was cutting three different versions. So that's
why you hear like a long pause, and they just
included the whole thing. I thought I was giving them
different options, like and then as the first time I.
Speaker 5 (04:10):
Heard it, like, I'm like, why am I still talking?
Speaker 1 (04:14):
We love it? But all I get think is Damn
Bayer hates me. Yeah, I really lean into that it's
the holiday season. That's of love. Here, big Mike, speaking of.
Speaker 4 (04:22):
The holiday season, we have a holiday themed words of
Wisdom for you today.
Speaker 1 (04:26):
Now, everybody ready, Yes, let it breathe.
Speaker 4 (04:30):
During the holidays, Family teaches us patients love and how
to strategically avoid certain conversations.
Speaker 2 (04:45):
Mike, you know, my wife, I felt like that was
an early gong, Like he ganged you out, like.
Speaker 3 (04:53):
He sent you home like a clipper sent Chris.
Speaker 1 (04:55):
Paul one more time, one more time, one more time.
I felt like there was more.
Speaker 4 (05:01):
That's it, all right, turn his mike up just a
little bit. During the holidays, Family teaches us patients love
and how to strategically avoid certain conversations.
Speaker 6 (05:17):
Wow.
Speaker 2 (05:18):
Wow, if you could repeat that word for word, you
take home the sweetest stocking stuffer of all time. The
CNR and FSR coveted brand new and improved Turbo football.
Speaker 1 (05:30):
You know, I've been accused of something that Mike set
up points out in his Words of Wisdom. I always
thought that, you know, because we debate for a living
Danny g Like I would imagine in the studio we
could have we could have good debates about mostly anything,
and at the end of it be all cool, right,
A lot of families don't act that way. I was
accused by my wife, she says, She's like, you drop
(05:51):
little time bombs at family gatherings and you get a
kick out of it, but not everyone lets it roll
off their shoulders. Like I'll go up to like my
wife's family be like, now, what do you guys think
about I don't know Trump and this? Or hey, what
do you guys think about transgenders and bathrooms or something?
And I just walk away and I watch and she's like,
what are you doing? Wow? Yeah, don't do that sounds conniving.
Speaker 3 (06:11):
Rich is a fight starter role.
Speaker 1 (06:13):
But I but in my mind, like I just I'm like, oh,
let me see what everyone thinks control. But people do
not have good debate speaking of controversial subject matter. What
do you hear? Yeah, I'll bring them in.
Speaker 2 (06:23):
I got something just you know, while we get the
phones going to see who wins this prize. Bad Bunny
is in the news today, Bad Bunny because it's all
a year end wrap up, top this and that of
the year. Yeah, Bad Bunny surpassed Taylor Swift as the
most streamed artist in the world. So with that knowledge,
(06:47):
is everybody okay? With the Super Bowl halftime show right now.
I don't know if that's going to change minds, but
I think what it will do.
Speaker 1 (06:54):
Doesn't it give perspective? But yeah it does. What it
does is for all the people that are like Bad Bunny,
I don't know when he was mute girl? Like is
that even speaking English? Listen, we've talked about how the
NFL is trying to reach out global international audience more
than ever all the games and foreign lands, and how
you heard Dan Bayer talking about the numbers Thanksgiving Day
almost one hundred million people who are watching football on
(07:15):
scenes right, So Bad Bunny global.
Speaker 2 (07:18):
Star Spotify's most streamed artist. That's a big achievement, surpassing
Taylor Swift.
Speaker 1 (07:23):
Hold on, no, what if some of that was due
to the announcement and then they go back and they're like, oh,
I'm gonna get acquainted with with that Bunny and you
know what, Sure, then good for you, But I'm sure
that's part of it. I was Sam. I do think
the lame o answer of you've never heard of them
makes you sort of look like an as clown. Now,
you don't need to be don't need to be familiar,
like I'll be honest, I'm not familiar with Bad Buddies music,
(07:45):
but that.
Speaker 2 (07:45):
And by the way, rolling Stone today, like I said,
year end wrap up, countdown, this and that, Rolling Stone
announced his last album as the number one album of
the year and the top one hundred albums. And that's
a matter of how much credit you give these magazines list.
But still you have to say, now, if you're the
guy that's like bad who bugs Bunny?
Speaker 1 (08:06):
What the earth?
Speaker 2 (08:07):
It does put things in perspective of, hey, maybe you
just didn't know, and maybe there's more to life than
just you, and maybe we give it a shot, Like
does it change your opinion?
Speaker 1 (08:16):
Is the question I'm posing you.
Speaker 2 (08:17):
If you stre passing America's sweetheart Taylor Swift and a
Taylor Swift related story, Kelsey put the smack down and
told the PA guy at the stadium, no more Taylor
Swift at the stadium because he's a team guy. Did
you hear that story? Maybe spots got some of that
in Midweek Major.
Speaker 8 (08:36):
Just cursed out, sounds like a great story for Midweek Major, Steve,
We'll tell Hey, we'll discuss further later.
Speaker 2 (08:44):
Sports doesn't mean we can't talk about it. It is sports,
So Taylor Swift. My point is when she's such a
big name and bad Bunny's passing her, that says a lot.
Speaker 1 (08:54):
No doubt, No doubt. I think UH fans of anything
sports music particularly, they they just don't like to understand
when they're not in the demo of what someone's going after. Right,
It's like baseball. We were talking about how anytime they
make any rule change in baseball, all the old heads,
like the mad Dog Russo's of the world get all
(09:16):
up in arms about and that changing that roles or
you know, they're talking about Bob Coosey in the NBA, like,
why aren't you catering to me? Right? Wrong, no offense.
Like our parents' generation, no one worries about you anymore
because they're worried about the future generation. So simple as that.
All right, let's get a contestant and see if they
could get Mike's words of wisdom and we'll move along.
Speaker 3 (09:37):
Yes, sir, we're going to start in Phoenix. Virgil, Virgil,
you're up first?
Speaker 1 (09:41):
What's up? Virgil?
Speaker 9 (09:42):
Hey, how you guys doing.
Speaker 1 (09:43):
What's up? Buddy? Word for word?
Speaker 3 (09:45):
Yeah, okay, let the music breathe here for a.
Speaker 9 (09:47):
Second, all right, So during the holidays, family teaches us patience, love,
and how to avoid strategically avoid certain conversations.
Speaker 3 (10:00):
So close, so close, Sorry, Virgil man.
Speaker 1 (10:05):
He tried to go back and fix it. He was like, no,
that was like the nervous.
Speaker 3 (10:08):
Southern Try next Wednesday. Brother, all right, we're going to
go to Reno.
Speaker 1 (10:14):
Now you know what Virgil's doing his car right now,
hitting the steer and you're like, damn himself.
Speaker 3 (10:21):
His kids like dad, you blewing, screaming out curse words.
The way spot was a moment.
Speaker 1 (10:26):
Ago, Drew and Reno. You got a chance, now, bro,
what's up?
Speaker 8 (10:30):
What's what's up?
Speaker 4 (10:31):
Hey?
Speaker 5 (10:32):
All right, so, uh, whenever you.
Speaker 1 (10:35):
Want me to go go ahead.
Speaker 3 (10:38):
During the holidays, family teaches us patients, love and how
to strategically avoid certain conversations. Yeah, I mean, I mean
he said strategically a little.
Speaker 1 (10:48):
Like that part of a word. The same.
Speaker 3 (10:52):
You got strategy. Hey, people get nerves when they're on
the air.
Speaker 1 (10:56):
That was great. Get it, Drew.
Speaker 3 (10:57):
You are a winner. And when the shipment of turn
balls come in, we are gonna mail once you there
in Reno. Way to go, Drew.
Speaker 1 (11:03):
Hey, ngrats, buddy, Thank you, Drew, appreciate it.
Speaker 2 (11:07):
Your chance to win. We always give away prizes. We'll
do we're doing tomorrow, Danny G for prizes Thursday. Well
we do old school win fifty hits on Thursdays. But
do you follow us on YouTube. I was just gonna
say coven ow rich FSR and Danny g hits you up.
Coven On Rich FSR. You'll win a prize. But thank you, Drew,
we appreciate it.
Speaker 3 (11:27):
Tell you what. I'll pick somebody in the chat on
our YouTube channel tomorrow.
Speaker 1 (11:30):
Nice, fantaerfect, fantastic question for you. I want to throw
something by you, Cavino that we didn't print, we didn't
plan on our apprecial meeting, but you'll be able to
roll with it. I'm up. I'm not catching you off guard,
off guard like those Clippers announcers the other day.
Speaker 2 (11:46):
You're trying to ambush me, bro I'm trying to expose me,
get some trivia for you, Mike.
Speaker 3 (11:49):
A lot of acrimony in that in that organization.
Speaker 1 (11:52):
So I was gonna say Clippers not having a good week.
I know you and I wanted to talk about Devin
Williams and how he's now in New York met but
the Mets are sort of the team that broke him.
Speaker 2 (12:04):
Oh, he's a met, because I wrote something different on
my paper. Devin Williams is a bee.
Speaker 1 (12:10):
You did you put six eyes? He's a bee? Devin
won and done. They changed the policy for this guy.
He sucks all year and then he leaves the Yankees.
Well he doesn't leave the Yankees. Is a deal was made?
Speaker 2 (12:24):
Oh he's a met, you say, I thought he was
a beach.
Speaker 1 (12:29):
So he is one of the best closers in baseball.
Speaker 2 (12:34):
No, he's a middleman at bet boot.
Speaker 1 (12:41):
He was one of the best closers in baseball. Pete
Alonso hits a three run home run off of him.
I'm sorry, Dan Bayer, Brewers fan, but in that moment,
Devin Williams was arguably like the closer of the year
yea at the time and the sentiment it was almost like,
did Pete Alonzo break Devin Williams's confidence? Because ever since
(13:02):
that postseason home run, goes to the Yanks just didn't
just never regain that composure he had a few seasons ago.
Speaker 2 (13:10):
It was like when ruf Nadodor hit Bautista in the face,
and now he goes to the team that broke him.
Speaker 1 (13:18):
So there's something there's something interesting about going to the
team that was sort of the team that it hurt
you a little bit. Maybe it'll be healing for him
and then cathartic, So there's a part of him. Do
you think he wants Pete to stay because Pete Lonzo
is one of those guys that the Mets, Mets fans want,
but the organization and David Stearns might not retain. You
think Devin Williams wants to play alongside the guy that
(13:41):
broke him. Yeah, he doesn't have to face him again.
Speaker 5 (13:44):
You actually think he broke him. Do you think that that's.
Speaker 6 (13:46):
A Met It's slightly you mean, it's very selfish on
richest part is what I'm saying. To think that this
is a Mets thing, like like this hasn't happened with
closers before they go to New York and they lose
their stuff.
Speaker 1 (13:57):
I mean, right, all, Peter, I can't say.
Speaker 2 (14:02):
It was the Mets, but it was a crucial situation
that he may not have recovered from. Maybe, right like
the knockout punch.
Speaker 5 (14:10):
Doesn't sound like you're a buyer guy, Cavino.
Speaker 2 (14:12):
I mean just it just sounds like I'm just saying
I've taken away the credit from the Mets.
Speaker 5 (14:16):
Think of the life.
Speaker 6 (14:17):
Think of the life of a closer in baseball, right,
like this is it like like even in Milwaukee, Like
Josh Hater was at his best when he was in Milwaukee. Yeah,
and so you go to other spots, you go where
it's more magnified, and not that the numbers are are different.
You could tell that. I just don't. I just think
(14:38):
that's I think that's the life of closers in baseball
these days.
Speaker 1 (14:41):
And then the sentiment in New York. I know we're
out here in LA, but the sentiment in New York
has I have a lot of friends out there, I'm
from New York originally, is that met fans are happy, unless,
of course, you're telling us you're replacing Edwin Diaz with
Devin Williams. If you have Devin Williams and he's a
setup guy for DZ. But dude, even as a setup
guy towards the end of last year, Yeah, he sort
(15:02):
of worked it out. But they were using him case
by a case, batter per batter. It wasn't like they
could just throw him in anywhere, you know what I mean.
Like they were only using him when.
Speaker 2 (15:13):
The matchup suited him, just to get him out of
that funk. So you gotta just hope you get that
that dominant sort of Devin Williams you expect. But sometimes
we always bring up the same example, like Jose Ramirez
knocks out Tim Anderson, He's never the same. Sometimes people
don't recover their egos bruised, they get in their head,
they're not the same.
Speaker 1 (15:33):
I don't know. It could have been like, yeah, bigger market,
as DB's insinuating. Sometimes it's just coincidence and or just
the roll of the closer. Eventually you're gonna fail.
Speaker 6 (15:42):
Yeah, at some point it's and he maybe better in
New York. I don't know if it's. I would also
have to think that it's just tough to pitch for
the Yankees.
Speaker 5 (15:50):
Is crazy? Is that some people just aren't made up
for it.
Speaker 1 (15:53):
Like ask Sonny grayhow it goes well?
Speaker 6 (15:55):
You know, and the Brewers get great attendance, So it's
not like the amount of people, it's everything else that
comes with it.
Speaker 1 (16:02):
There's's a lot of players that don't want to deal
with all the press around their lockers, Like New York's
a pretty in you know, you would have thought over
all this Chapman was done if you were going to
base his career on what he did with the Yanks,
and look how great it is now won some chips
after that. So part two of this question is about chemistry.
We talk a lot about chemistry in everything. I feel
like we have great chemistry on the show. I was
(16:23):
Sam run the board. I feel like we click right
Danny g We happen to work so well with him.
We've been working with Spot for years. dB I mean,
consummate professional, Big Mike who rous his place. We chop
it up every day. I feel like we have good
chemistry here at FSR. Agreed, chemistry is an important thing.
We had a sweet pizza party right before the show.
That's true courtesy of Trip. Thank you Trip. Thank yeah,
(16:47):
thanks Trip.
Speaker 4 (16:48):
I didn't get to say thanks earlier, but thanks.
Speaker 1 (16:49):
Thanks, thanks Trip. It was good pizza trip in Vegas.
He's our pizza dude, He's.
Speaker 3 (16:53):
Our pizza man.
Speaker 1 (16:55):
There's speculation that Juan Soto and Francisco Lindor never really
got along, and I denied it as a Mets fan, like,
oh come on, and then you know I had buddies
that would send me every time one of them hit
a home run, other teammates would do like cool like
handshakes and everything, and they would just do a little
like Hugh and I was like, oh, come on, can't
(17:17):
be Can two superstars exist? I mean, we just saw
the Clippers say later, Chris Paul, when two key players
aren't vibing, could it ever work?
Speaker 2 (17:31):
That's tough manby different things like Shack and Kobe.
Speaker 1 (17:35):
One they three peeded in the story is a Kobe
thought Chack was lazy but great?
Speaker 2 (17:40):
Right, there's so many individual moments in baseball as appost
to other team sports. Right, like basketball, You're you're running
side by side on the court. Wan Soto's in the outfield,
Lindora's in the infield. They take separate at mats. They
should figure out a common groundhere they could play and
win together. A Rod and Jeter did it. They were
not on the same page. They won a World Series
at that time. They were uh, they were not.
Speaker 1 (18:01):
Buddy Chuck, I chucked it up to Latino guys that
they automatically have to be best friends because they're of
Hispanic background. And I would say almost the opposite.
Speaker 2 (18:11):
Lindora's Puerto Rican and Soto's Dominican, so in some ways
they're they're rivals. Then they have egos and they both
want to be leaders of that team, and they both
want to represent not only UH themselves, but they're they're
nations and they want to be great. So I'm sure
they butt heads a little bit. And that was Lindor's
team before Soto got there, and everyone wanted to pretend
(18:34):
like they were gonna be BFFs because they're both Hispanic.
Speaker 1 (18:36):
That's the way I see it a little bit, and
not to not to make it just about my Mexicas,
it could be any team, Danny g. You know the
guys on the Dodgers that are like clubhouse guys you see,
like a Taoscar, guys that like just bring the fun right,
Like there's guys that I meant to say not but
Taoskar seems like a fun guy tale.
Speaker 3 (18:57):
But they're they're throws us out flower seeds at you
after you hit a homer.
Speaker 2 (19:02):
Now, you know, as hateable as you might want to
feel about the Dodgers, they're not hateable. They're really they're
really likable and they have and they have great noticeable chemistry. Well,
to wrap up my thought, when people wondered why did
the Mets get rid of Brandon Nemo? He was not
the problem. But what they're saying is Marcus Simeon, while
(19:22):
he doesn't have the stats of a NEMO, and people like,
why would you go with this older guy. He's what
they're calling the clubhouse guy they think could unite Soto
and Lindor.
Speaker 1 (19:35):
So really that was the Chess movie. The move is like, Oh,
Marcus Simeon, he's the type of guy that yo, he
brings so much fun, and yo, he knows Lindor and
so on. Maybe he's the guy.
Speaker 2 (19:45):
Well, you know what, sometimes in life, if we're saying
it's chemistry and team building and things like that, I've
been told that I need a buffer, not a Michael,
not a Bruce, but a person to be the middle
guy sometimes, Like my buddy Mark accused me of not
always wanting to hang. He goes, but I will hang
if there's a buffer, and maybe because I don't like
(20:08):
how my ego collides with his. But if there's someone
in the middle, it relieves that a little bit and
makes it more fun. So I mean, if you really
pay close attention that works in life, probably works the
same way in baseball, I just don't know is he
friends with both of them, because then it would make
sense if this dude, if Synian's friends with both of them,
then that would work.
Speaker 1 (20:26):
So any sport, any workplace scenario. Just think about how
much chemistry really does play a factor. And when you
think about moves that are made within your organization, will
you work or the team you like? Think don't always
think about the statue see on paper, because there's so
much more, especially if over one hundred and sixty two
games in baseball or even a long ass football season
(20:46):
or basketball season. People got to like each other. You
hear guys say like or compliment each other somehow. You
hear guys genuinely say sometimes like yeah, this is the
close group of guys. We eat dinner together every night,
or our wives hang out like I always think it's
cool how the four nine ers all the wives seem
to be really close. You saw that on Receiver on Netflix.
Kittle's wife and Yushjack and McCaffrey's.
Speaker 2 (21:07):
Wife, they all hang oneam to put that type of
chemistry together.
Speaker 1 (21:11):
So just something to think about. And we're gonna talk
some more NFL and we got midweek major with our
buddy spot all the stories you might have missed in
the world of sports and entertainment. We do that next
right here on Fox Sports Radio. All right now, quick

Sam almost got frostbite, Ernie and Bert.
Speaker 2 (24:13):
I have a fun fact though, did you know the
same person that does the voice for Big Bird is
the same person that does the voice for Oscar the grounch.
Speaker 1 (24:20):
I can see that. Well, now you know, now you know?
Now you know?

(24:45):
plan is first spot to do MIDI. Yeah, all right,
let's do it.
Speaker 1 (24:48):
Spot.
Speaker 7 (24:48):
Let's Coveno and Rich get you over the middle of
the week when mid Week Major. I love that we
throw sports and pop culture headlines and top said the fellas,
and it's like the kids.
Speaker 9 (25:03):
Say, that's summit.
Speaker 7 (25:04):
We definitely madre CNR scoring mid Week Major.
Speaker 3 (25:11):
I gotta go fast Spotty because after that hemming and hang,
you got like seven minutes, oh ecid before we hand
thanks over to the number one and only host of
the segment. Let's pass the uh the microphones over to
CNR with the dice.
Speaker 1 (25:24):
Roll the nine. Yeah, I were dumb, dumb, I went,
he wins, come on, rolled on.
Speaker 3 (25:29):
It was the one that means Covino gets first taken. Now,
ladies and gentlemen, the most popular person and famous besides
Judy Bloom from Scotch Points New Jersey, Spotty Bully Guys's spot.
Speaker 1 (25:41):
Let's h what do you say we jump right in?
How about that jump it in? All right? Uh, you
mentioned it earlier when I yelled at you for stealing
my story.
Speaker 8 (25:48):
Couple Travis and Taylor updates, uh so new episode of
New heights drop this week with guest star George Clooney.
Speaker 1 (25:56):
They're pulling in the A Listers. Oh well, kind of well.
Speaker 8 (25:59):
Cludey was the discussing his relationship with his wife Lama.
He said how they never argued in their ten year
plus relationship, which led Travis to open up about his
relationship with Taylor, saying that in their two and a
half years, they've never argued.
Speaker 1 (26:12):
How about that? Isn't that exciting?
Speaker 8 (26:14):
Also in other news, the Kansas City Chief's President Mark
Donovan was on the k Adams Up in Adams podcast,
where he revealed that Travis did specifically ask that they
refrain from playing any sort of Tailor Swift hits in
the stadium or from showing her on the big screen
when she's there during the game. He said that Travis
is all about team, not being separate. He says, it's
(26:36):
about us. I want it to be about us midweek
or major.
Speaker 1 (26:39):
The first part is weak in a major way.
Speaker 2 (26:43):
Anyone talking about how they don't fight or argue, it's
bs or they haven't gotten there yet, and that doesn't
Some people just.
Speaker 1 (26:51):
Are more argumentative. My wife and I hardly argue, but
some people are not a prize for not arguing. Good
for you, guys, like you think you win a prize
if you do argue. That's life. People disagree, it's you
know what it's like.
Speaker 2 (27:05):
It's like, tell me your life is grand because you
you're on vacation on Instagram. That's not real life. You'll
get there eventually. So people that put up that facade
have the most to hide. I'm not buying it.
Speaker 8 (27:16):
How long have you guys been together? I wish and
I know you two over twenty years. Yeah, talk to
them in twenty years. See how they argue.
Speaker 1 (27:22):
Yeah, And arguing is not a bad thing.
Speaker 2 (27:24):
That's how people work thing out, work things out sometimes
you know it's not a bad thing.
Speaker 1 (27:29):
But I think I'm just thinking arguing me not people.
I think like arguing in my mind though, is like
yelling and screaming, like disagreements, like my wife and I
are disagreeing about a pool fence right now. But I
don't think that's arguing.
Speaker 2 (27:38):
You're never argued with the woman you're with, Like, give
me a break. That's like bs, yes, no, yes brocas
And as far as like no Taylor Swift in stadium,
he should have did that, you know, year one so
I think that's meg because too little, too late, it
could be distracting. It could be distracting, especially he's like,
(27:59):
I'm here to play, I'm with the guys.
Speaker 1 (28:01):
I get it. Sentiment. Yeah, I think this is Both
stories are pretty major. Shane. You're the biggest celebrity couple
out there and you don't fight at all. I like
the fact no tailor in the stadium because it was
it's a little, a little kitchy. I don't like it,
that's all. I think it's good. Don't fight at all.
It is different than what you said. Yeah, okay, don't
fight at all. Ever, what do you are you, mister perfect?
(28:24):
Speaking of playing like the girls music, you're dating. My
favorite story of all time I was in my twenties
Danny j and I got wins that my ex girlfriend
went to a gym that played me on the radio,
and she went to the manager of the gym and said,
can you change the channel? I can't hear his voice
say that every day. Honestly, my favorite moment of all
(28:45):
shut up spot but next door?
Speaker 5 (28:47):
I know?
Speaker 1 (28:48):
Oh FIFA.
Speaker 8 (28:49):
The FIFA World Cup draw will take place at the
Kennedy Center this Friday, which will decide the groups for
the forty eight nations participating in next year's big FIFA
World Cup one that's taking place in North America. The
draw will feature a remarkable crossover of American and Canadian
sporting icons as the World's World Cup prepares to head
(29:09):
to North America. Serving as draw assistant the main headliner,
Tom Brady said, it's an incredible honor, the kind of
global stage every athlete dreams of. He's excited to help
set the path. Other assistants include Aaron Judge, Shaq, Wayne Gretzky,
former Manchester United player Rio Ferdinand. Hosting the event will
(29:29):
be comedian Kevin Hart, Heidi Klum and Danny Ramirez. Musical
acts include Robbie Williams, Andrea Bocelli and Nicole Scherzinger. And
hosting the red carpet will be Richier lookalike Eli Manning
and President Donald Trump will be in attendance and with
actually Oh, the village people are going to be forming
YMC Alive for the President. So a big event, lots
(29:50):
of stars. Check it out this Friday, midwek of major
man with.
Speaker 2 (29:53):
All those names, star power names, big event sounds pretty major.
Trump's gonna be there, Tom Brady work, could you want
Kevin Hart?
Speaker 1 (30:00):
Jesus Jesus is gonna be there? Yeah, sounds pretty maje.
It's gonna be walking on water, not just a guy
that you know named Aesus. Wo sounds major. Listen, it's
Major's fine. I mean you heard that, you read a
headline about the FIFA World Cup. That's the biggest global event.
I mean, what do you what do you expect to
come out the Proclaimers? You'd like that wouldn't yet. In fact,
(30:20):
I'm surprised the musical acts aren't bigger. To be honest,
President Trump's gonna be there doing the YMCA, Tom Brady,
Kevin Hard, And then after that, I felt like the
name sort of went down a little bit. I'm shocked,
Dave Grol, the Foo Fighters aren't there. I'm surprised. Got
God Mightley Cyrus and Katie Perry like we're going with
the cult. Sure'singer, I like her, but really.
Speaker 8 (30:41):
And I know you guys are salivating this story. So
Max Kellerman speaking out about his time with Stephen A.
Smith at first take in ESPN and not painting their
relationship in a great light. So Kellerman appeared on the
Bill Simmons podcast where he talked about his twenty sixteen
to one stint on the show and in a nutshell
Calleran said that stephen A got tired of debating him
(31:02):
every day, that he actually never had a hot take
and the two never developed a personal relationship. He said
that he can't think of any counterintuitive conclusions that Smith
ever reaches. That's not his job on the air. It's
his job to be the big reactor. He's there to
hear the crazy conclusion that his partner has come to
and just be the everyman loud voice. He said, despite
(31:23):
their relationship, A cardinalson is betraying that on air, and
you should be thinking about making the show more entertaining.
And he said that it got to the point where
he was actually having to call out stephen A Smith
to make the show entertaining.
Speaker 1 (31:36):
So I don't know if it's.
Speaker 8 (31:37):
Bad blood, but a lot of job of building Midweek
or major, major.
Speaker 2 (31:42):
Major, And we have to remember that steven A threw
him under the bus so many times before Kellerman finally
spoke out and put his side out there and steven
A and let it be known, I like both guys.
We've shared the mic with both guys. We did first
take with Kellerman Rich, Yep, that was your honor. I
do like both guys, but stephen A made it seem
(32:03):
like Max was bringing the show down and wasn't bringing
any solid arguments, wasn't challenging him, and I think it
was quite the opposite. I watched all the time, and
I thought Max always brought the heat and challenged stephen
A to the point where it made steven A uncomfortable, but.
Speaker 1 (32:19):
It made it for a good viewing audience.
Speaker 2 (32:22):
So I like hearing what he has to say about
it as well, because I don't think steven A handled
that fairly.
Speaker 1 (32:27):
I think it's major if you're a sportsman, it's major
because that is a big show, and I think first take,
I know there's other characters, but in the you know,
beginning big years of that show, I think it was
steven A and Kellerman and I'm a fan of both.
Like you said, I heard Max in that interview also
say that you know he was gonna put up a fight.
Steven A essentially did not want to spar Terrence Bud
(32:51):
Crawford every day, and Max was going to put up
a fight every day, and Steven A is like, Yeah,
I just don't want to. I don't want to do that. Plus,
he said in this world the minute, stephen A also
realized solo people can make more money.
Speaker 2 (33:03):
Yeah, and Stephen as like the ring leader of this
circus as opposed to what was going back and forth
between him and Max. All right, thank you, Spoddy boy.
Speaker 1 (33:13):
Thanks, that's a juicy one, man, I know. All right, dB,
what's going on? Dan Bayer?
Speaker 5 (33:19):
Lots going on, guys.
Speaker 6 (33:20):
We start in the NBA where Bucks forward Jannisinteta Compo's
future in Milwaukee could be up in the air. ESPN
reporting that Janie's agent has initiated talks to the team's
front office to talk about Giannis's future.
Speaker 5 (33:34):
A decision could be coming in the next couple of weeks.
Speaker 6 (33:36):
According to ESPN, Lakers guard Luka Dancicell tomorrow in Toronto
for personal reasons. Suns guard Devin Booker is going to
miss at least a week because of a growing strain.

(37:52):
you hear Covino and rich FSR. Send it to a friend.
See our stupid faces, make fun of us. We don't care.
We just want you watching now. Lebron James polarizing always Now.
They got beat They had a seven game streak. Lakers
got beat by the sun Sons were on fire. They
(38:13):
couldn't miss. No big deal there. But in a game
that really didn't matter, Lebron James is playing, and it's
obvious that he's trying to get his ten points double
digits to keep that streak alive.
Speaker 3 (38:26):
He was playing in garbage time.
Speaker 2 (38:27):
He's playing garbage time. Is Lebron James. He's older and
everybody knows. You could smell it a mile away. Rich
he's not playing defense. The only reason he's there is
to get those ten points, to get that streak going,
to keep it going. So it becomes controversial, it's me
Bron again. It's like, yo, man, if you're a team, dude,
sit it out. And now it seems like the streak
(38:49):
is getting in the way. And we've seen that stuff before.
Speaker 1 (38:52):
It's like sometimes when it ends, it's a relief for everybody.
He's trying to keep it going and going and going
detriment to the team. If the Lakers losing, Okay, listen,
unless you're Oklahoma City who's twenty one and one, who
may never lose, Unless you're a team that may lose
(39:12):
five games all year. Teams are just amping up for
the playoffs. You don't want streaks to get in the
way of what's best. But what I'm saying is the
best teams lose twenty or more games for the most part. Right,
twenty thirty games, you're gonna lose games. So if the Lakers, hey,
it's not your night. The Suns are on fire hitting threes,
like you said, Danny in the pre show meeting, there's
no debate.
Speaker 3 (39:32):
That Suns are on fire.
Speaker 1 (39:33):
Yeah, you know, Rich, let me inherently if it's not
your night, and you know it's not your night and.
Speaker 3 (39:39):
Has to sit on the bench and let the youngsters
get in the game. Rich at some point, yeah, when
you know your career is winding down, and he's admitted
this is gonna be maybe his last season or next
season will be the last man.
Speaker 1 (39:50):
Just last week thought he was sore because he's old, right,
So this streak is gonna come to an end, and
everyone else is far away from this double digit streak
that he he's got going. I want to no one's
gonna come close.
Speaker 3 (40:02):
What I don't like about this is we filled in
on the Dan Patrick Show and talked about his glorious return.
Remember when he fit in with all the other stars
they now have on that team.
Speaker 2 (40:11):
Well, that's the thing, Danny, you don't want to have
it forced, Yes, where Lebron has to score when it
should be the other way around. It works when he's
letting everyone else be the star and he's dishing it
out letting everyone else score. If you're now worried about
Lebron's scoring to keep that streak alive is even subconsciously
taken away from what really works for the team. I
know it sounds nitpicky here, but think about that.
Speaker 1 (40:33):
The Lakers didn't have the third best record in the
NBA and they weren't fifteen and five and looking really sharp,
then I'd say what are we doing here? But I
think the Lakers, I think it's uh oh to Lebron.
Speaker 2 (40:46):
I think, just like his hairline, he's got to let
the streak go, let and move forward and past the
ball around.
Speaker 3 (40:52):
Yeah, Rich, I don't think that's owed when it's a
record like that, because that's.
Speaker 1 (40:56):
Not I'm trying. I know it's a bad comparison, but
you remember at the end of the end of NFL seasons,
like in Week eighteen, there's players that they purposely pushed
the ball on so they could hit it money, Yeah,
to get incentives or like you know, we we saw
the famous member. Was it Joe Cleco that was all
Who's all mad? Gaston, Who's who's all mad? He was
(41:17):
all mad because Brett fav let straighthand stack.
Speaker 2 (41:20):
Him because it meant a lot to him. I mean,
Lebron took a fall. If Lebron has this streak, I
don't know was did it bother anyone that much? I
guess are not in this game because again they lost.
But you don't want that pressure on the other players
to make sure Lebron has ten points every time. When
the w's all that matters here, the criticism comes.
Speaker 3 (41:42):
Yes, that's a good point because the Laker fans I
saw complaining about this on social media said, can he
just sit and find his role and be okay with it?
The Lakers can go far if he'll be that guy.
Speaker 1 (41:52):
Yeah, double digitous ten points should take a backseat to Lebron.
You know what, some fitting in and making it work.
Sometimes when you're up big or down big, rules are off.
Now you could say, well that's it's the pros. Like
if I'm playing softball my stupid league, if some teams
whooping the other team, you might bet lefty, you might
go for a home run. I'm not taking a walk.
I'l sw I get a bad pitch just because it's
like games out of reach, and I think Lakers games
(42:14):
out of reach. Let Lebron do is a little double
digit thing, what do you care?
Speaker 2 (42:18):
I think there'd be a live relief from him and
the team if it just went away, like like cal Ripken,
like you know, hey, the streak's over, We're moving on
all right.
Speaker 1 (42:25):
Well, hey, have a great night. We'll see you guys Manyana.
Until then, Hey, Ariba there, you maybe see you in
the promise, right,
