Aaron Torres the news that after about fifteen years apart,
(00:36):
Oasis will reunite Liam and Noel getting together for fourteen
shows next summer in Ireland. In England, Oasis is back together.
We're talking reunions today here on Covino and Rich.

Covino and Rich were in for the Herd earlier today
and one of the things that we love about the
guys is how interactive they are with their fan base,
with the listeners to the show, everyone involved. You can
hit Aaron up at Aaron Underscore Tours. You can find
me at Dan Byer on Fox, but you can also
call Kavino and Rich. They love to hear from you,
(01:32):
love to hear your thoughts, and we want to hear
your thoughts on the reunions that you wanted to see
happen or still need to see happen. I know some
are already down the road it's not going to happen,
but the one that you wish you could have seen. Heck,
if there was a reunion that did happen that you loved,
feel free to let us know. Eight seven seven nine
(01:54):
to nine on Fox. That's eight seven seven nine nine
six six ' three sixty nine. Heavy is the head
that wears the crown. That's what I was trying to
say ten minutes ago erin Torres. But we're talking reunions
right now, and it is on the heels of Oasis
finally getting back together, and there's even talk about rumors
(02:15):
of there are going to be more shows, maybe them
coming to the States. But you know, as a I'm
not a huge, huge music fan. I do enjoy it
and I really enjoy Oasis and I've been one of
those that I've wanted to see them get back together.
Something about those two brothers and their dynamic that is
just so magical. And in addition to the great hits
(02:36):
of songs, so Oasis reunites. What do we want to
see maybe not even just in sports, but in other
places reuniting. And I bring this up at this time
as well because I think one of the greater things
that we've seen over the last couple of years erin
Torres has been your alma mater of Yukon reuniting with
(02:58):
the Big East. Oh, now that may not be for
long considering some of the rumors, and you're not liking
the the anks that's coming towards your alma mater for
maybe trying to jump to the big twelve.
Speaker 2 (03:12):
H Yeah, I mean it's you know, there's there's nostalgia
and there is reality, and you know, we don't have
to get into the economics of college sports right now.
I know that's probably not in the normal Cavino and
Rich wheelhouse, but you know, listen, I think we all
understand where all the money is right now, it's in
(03:32):
It's in certainly the two big football conferences, uh, the
SEC and the Big Ten. But everybody else is trying
to figure out how to stay in the conversation, how
to stay relevant. And so it's very nostalgic to want
to stay in the Big East, just like it would
be nostalgic for USC to have wanted to stay in
the in the Pac twelve, a league that they've you know,
(03:54):
honestly up until the last couple of years, dominated for
a century, but that it was best for the athletic department,
saying for UCLA and and so yeah, so yeah, I mean,
it's just what Yukon's doing is no different than anybody else.
But I will say the reunion between Yukon and the
Big East has been awesome. Uh, seeing those Big East
Tournament games at Madison Square Garden has been awesome. But
(04:17):
I don't know for how long exactly it suld be
given the state of college supports.
Speaker 3 (04:22):
You know, what it's done, and and I and I
don't think people realized at the at the time what
it was going to do and what it has done,
and when you really look back at the previous years,
you understand what it has done. But the Big East
without Syracuse and Yukon weird, pitt, I guess you know,
(04:43):
you could put in that that conversation as well. But
when Yukon went back in, it made Creighton being there
uh more more natural? Sure, you know, like it was
like to see Marquett and Creighton play for the Big
East title. It was just weird. It was just it
was odd. But when you have Yukon as part of
(05:04):
that equation, or in no disrespect to DePaul, but if
DePaul was in that conversation of making it to a
conference semi final or making it to a conference final,
You're like, Okay, a championship game, I get it, there
would be more of a feel to it there, but
there isn't because they're they're further away. They're not your
(05:25):
your Eastern schools that you're used to. Georgetown isn't even
Georgetown really anymore, you know, like in terms of that feel.
So Yukon's greatness and then coming back has helped the
other Big East teams because I think then their association
of taking on a Yukon team in a championship game
has made okay now they feel more like a big
team because Yukon played a role in.
Speaker 2 (05:45):
That, zero doubt. By the way, the inverse is also true.
I think that's a big reason why. You know, I
think a Yukon fan understands why why this move in
theory would would be made if the opportunity present itself.
And I don't know how far along it actually is.
Speaker 1 (06:02):
I have an idea.
Speaker 2 (06:03):
I don't think it's very far along along at all.
But I would also add you talked to most Yukon fans.
Besides the economics of it, the Big East that they
re entered is not the one that they left, and
so there is no Syracuse, as you said, you know
the schools that you mentioned, Syracuse, Pit, a few others
that were at the time that they left legitimate rivals.
(06:24):
I think that's also what makes it a little easier
to consider leaving a second time, is that it's great.
There's a lot of history. But even fifteen twenty years ago,
when the Big East was the old Big East that
we all knew, I don't think Yukon really considered Georgetown
to be a rival or Villanova to be a rival.
Syracuse was Pitt was, I would say, and to a
(06:47):
small degree pit and so I think that's part of
why Yukon fans are kind of justifying in their head
why the school is at least looking into this potential move.
Speaker 3 (06:56):
I'll tell you another thing about this, because this also
does lead to other parts of reunions. In a reunion
that can't happen anymore. It's not like they're leaving the
Big East for the American like you're leaving it for
the Big Twelve.
Speaker 1 (07:11):
Yep.
Speaker 3 (07:11):
And we also know that the Big Twelve, excuse me,
has head, you know, a really push towards trying to
make it a super super strong basketball league. And I
think that's going to be appealing to Yukon, right. I mean,
like if you know, when you see them going after
Gontega trying to reel them in, obviously you have Kansas there,
you had Yukon with the ACC being what it is,
(07:34):
and who knows what that future the basketball conference of
the country could still be up. It could be up
for grabs.
Speaker 2 (07:41):
Well as someone who on my own dime, flew out
to Lawrence, Kansas this year to see Yukon play Kansas
because I sat there and said, I have no idea
when Yukon may ever play Kansas again, Like I know it,
it will feel, you know, like an out of conference
game if if it somehow happens, and it'll be weird
on a big Monday or whatever when if if you
(08:02):
turn on the TV and it's Yukon Kansas as opposed
to Texas Kansas or Texas Tech Kansas. But by the way,
it's gonna be weird in literally every other conference as well.
It's gonna be weird the first time that USC flies
to Michigan to open Big Ten play this year, and
it is, in fact a Big Ten game, everybody's already
started with the jokes about SMU and Callen Stanford in
(08:24):
the in the ACC.
Speaker 1 (08:26):
So that's another part of it.
Speaker 2 (08:27):
Is to the credit of the Big Twelve, they're trying
to build the best basketball conference. And yes, the opportunity
to play a Kansas. Remember now Arizona is in the league,
Houston will see, you know, do they maintain this level
post Kelvin Sampson. That remains to be seen. But the
point you're but the point you bring up is a
good one, which is that which is that this is
(08:49):
a new world and I think fans would be excited
about some of those new matchups just as much, if
not more of some of the ones that they're giving up.
Speaker 3 (08:57):
And and this leads me to the reunion. Wise, there's
a reunion that can't happen anymore in college football because
it wouldn't have the same effect. For the last few years,
we've said, Man, shouldn't Nebraska go back to the Big twelve? Yeah,
face Oklahoma, face Texas have those rivalries. Now Colorado's back
in the league, so you could have a rivalry there,
but it wouldn't be the same. So Nebraska, to me,
(09:18):
stays in the Big Ten. You know what I want
to see along the lines that we're just talking about. Sure,
I feel that they've been fine for the conference. I
think they've actually been better for basketball than football, which
is not a surprise. But the football has actually been
okay the last couple of years. But let's put Maryland
back in the ACC.
Speaker 1 (09:36):
Oh, that's a great one.
Speaker 3 (09:38):
Let's reunite the Terps with the ACC. I know it
was a coup for the Big Ten to take them away,
but if we're going to keep this current conference structure
of the way it is, let's just put the Terps
back to the ACC have an ACC tournament where you
have Duke wake Forest, North Carolina and Maryland in a
semi final. Sorry, NC State and Virginia and the other
(10:00):
in Georgia Tech and whoever you want to throw in.
But then that's real ACC tournament basketball. So I would
actually like to see Maryland. It's not gonna happen. I
would like to see Maryland, though, reunite in the ACC.
Speaker 2 (10:14):
So I would love that one. The reverse of Yukon
leaving for the Big Twelve. I would love to see
Syracuse come back to the Big East. And because they
really are great for that conference really quickly in the
pro ranks.
Speaker 1 (10:27):
I'll give you one.
Speaker 2 (10:29):
And it's a playoff of something that we kind of
joked about in the last hour, but I think it's
actually kind of what they need. I know it sounds crazy,
but how about a Lebron Kyrie reunion with the Lakers.
Speaker 1 (10:45):
I know Lebron's not your goat. We learned that in
hour one.
Speaker 2 (10:48):
No no, I know, I know for people who missed
the audio, Lebron I think he actually was joking in
this particular case, but referred to him as the goat,
referred to himself as the goat. But yes, but I
was thinking about it because you know, I was thinking,
I was like, you know, I would like to see
like Katie and Russ get back together and just make up,
just know that they're okay. But then I'm like, Russ
(11:08):
is so kind of, you know, at a different part
of his career, let me put it that way, that
I don't think it would matter. Yes, yeah, yeah, but
I think like Kyrie could is kind of the guy
that the Lakers need secondary ball handler. You know, He's
never going to be like the guy that comes off
the bench, but that's kind of the guy that the
Lakers need.
Speaker 1 (11:27):
So I wouldn't hate.
Speaker 2 (11:28):
Even though I'm not a Lakers fan or even necessarily
a lebron fan, I would like to see that reunion
because I think it would be both sort of nostalgic,
but also I think it would make the Lakers more
interesting and relevant.
Speaker 3 (11:40):
Eight seven seven nine nine, Non Fox, It's eight seven
seven nine nine six six three sixty nine. If you've
got any good nominations, we need strong nominations. Jason Stewart's
our executive producer.
Speaker 4 (11:52):
Now Eleasis, I'm not a huge fan of but I
know they have a huge fan base, and I know
there's a lot of anticipation for this. It's been so
long and it seemed ill reconcilable, and I was thinking,
what is the antithesis of the Oasis reunion? And I
thought about it. James Harden and Russell Westbrook. They've had
two reunions, and nobody needs to see it anymore. I
(12:15):
think Monzi's the only one who wants to see it again.
No more of that reunion. And on a personal level,
there are two jerseys that I own. I have a
Dodgers Jackie Robinson Jersey, and I have a Dodgers Justin
Turner Jersey.
Speaker 5 (12:32):
Nice.
Speaker 4 (12:33):
He delivered our World Series in twenty twenty, if you
want to call it that. And then I want him
to come back. I want him to be a Dodger again.
He's gone away and he's kind of cast checks in
Boston and Toronto and Seattle, and he came to town
recently and got a standing ovation, and just bring him back,
bring him back for another season. Justin Turner cal State
Fullerton Titans ride.
Speaker 3 (12:55):
It was like when Poolholes joined the Cardinals at the end,
and that was a nice story. Yeah, yeah, because the
last decade of his career was was you know one
that we would criticize all the time. Montie, Are you
okay with the the Hard and west Frick reunion or
would you rather see something else?
Speaker 5 (13:11):
I mean, at the top of my list is obviously
Blake Griffin reuniting with the Clippers. I know that there
is bad blood there, but in my perfect world, he
would go back, kind of like Justin Turner returning to
the Dodgers, Like, even though there's no bad blood there
and you know that there, I'm sure he would be happy.
(13:32):
I would love for Blake Griffin to like have a
moment into.
Speaker 3 (13:35):
It Doman, Yeah, into it Dome. This is the scene
Blake Griffin is warming up on the court. Balmer walks
on the sideline and Griffin runs over and gives him
a hug. Yes, remember as opposed to the ignoring him.
Speaker 1 (13:50):
Huh did he sprint the other way like past him?
Speaker 3 (13:54):
I think him, Yeah, yeah, yeah, it wasn't. Yeah, he
made sure that he knew that he heard him and
then ran in. But this would be like a spin
on that where it's like, oh my gosh, he went
the Ballmer.
Speaker 5 (14:08):
It would be so great.
Speaker 3 (14:09):
Right in front of the wall of into a Dome
with ten thousand fans still waiting outside trying to get
in because of the awful ticket situation that they have. Yes,
Torre has mentioned Lebron. I would like to see Lebron
back in Cleveland. Yeah. Yeah, that's where I would like
to see it. And I'll tell you what, I don't
(14:30):
think it would be bad for them, Like they figured
out a way. Imagine. I mean, he already owns the city,
you know, for one you go for one more go
around for nine months, it's your farewell tour where you started.
I think that that would that I think that's a
reasonable ask as a sports fan. If he were to
(14:53):
do that, probably not gonna happen, but I'll tell you what,
it would be quite a reunion if it did. So.
Speaker 1 (14:58):
It's funny because two things on that.
Speaker 6 (15:00):
One.
Speaker 2 (15:00):
First of all, I give Cleveland fans credit. I think
when he left they kind of understood why and there
didn't seem to be any bad blood. But two, like
I saw this thing today where I guess Genie Buss
said something to the effect of, like Lebron James is
our highest paid player and he's still I still consider
him a bargain. It's like I still I don't know
(15:24):
he here it is, he's still a bargain to me
on him being the highest paid player on the team.
I still just don't feel like the vibes are totally there, Like,
you know, and we're doing this whole revisionist history thing
now with Lebron and ad because they were so awesome
in the Olympics of like, well, I mean, maybe they
are a contender after all this year. It's like, no,
they're not. They're nowhere close. I still think it's weird.
(15:46):
I don't think Lebron is really beloved in La the
way that he thought he would be. So I think
it'd be fitting for him to go back to Cleveland.
By the way, I met you KD and Russ. What
about KD just ending his career in Oklahoma City? What
do you does that move the needle at all for you,
Dan or not?
Speaker 3 (16:02):
Really?
Speaker 5 (16:03):
No, he should go to Seattle when they started doing there.
Speaker 1 (16:06):
Well sure, well that's that's not that's not there yet,
but you know, but that's.
Speaker 3 (16:13):
I like, I like that creativity. I think that's really good.
But I do think that that would be good. Plus,
you're telling me Oklahoma City couldn't use him, right, now yeah,
you know here, here's the thing like that it was
so bad, like it was so hurtful for the fans
(16:34):
that like it's not like like like do they do
they would they still accept you know, Kadi at eighty
five percent because he's not the same player that he
was when he left, obviously, but he's still great. He
still can score and he is still KD but he's
not the same player. It's because heck, you know, they are,
(16:54):
you know, one of the best teams in the NBA.
We saw it in the regular season. If you added
Kevin Durant, they would be you take maybe less money
to do so, which he never do. But I think
it would be great. I think that's a really good idea.
I would love to see it. I thought they should
have made a pitch for him when they had the
opportunity to maybe trade for him, you know, with all
(17:16):
of the picks, when Durant wanted out, I thought that'd
be a great marriage. Now you say to end your
career there when SGA has evolved, Kevin Durant doesn't even
have to be the number one.
Speaker 2 (17:25):
That's a magnificent real and I think a lot of
the he's a mercenary. He's never happy. He just goes wherever.
I think a lot of that goes away, right, And
you know, maybe Katie's at the point in his career,
like I feel like this Olympics was a lot of
good pr for a lot of these guys, Like Lebron
was suddenly way more likable. It felt like like Katie
(17:46):
kind of was Captain America, you know, kind of came
in late, but kind of when they needed him, he
kind of came through. But in the NBA, he's kind
of just this mercenary dude, like went to the Warriors
to win a couple of chips, then went to Brooklyn
to do something else, then wants to Brooklyn, but only
wants to be traded to two spots, which just so
happened to be basically in first place in their respective
conferences at the time. So so it's crazy. Think about
(18:10):
By the way, Dan, we got a couple of callers.
Speaker 1 (18:11):
You want to you want to go to the full schools?
Speaker 3 (18:13):
What do we got?
Speaker 1 (18:13):
All right?
Speaker 2 (18:14):
We got Michael in Virginia. You're on Cavino and Rich
with Aaron Tours and Dan Byer filling in for the guys.
Speaker 6 (18:19):
Go ahead, Michael, Hey, thanks guys real quick so I
can let the other callers in. I would love to
see then. I'm little old school. Did Seattle Seahawks go
back to the AFC again because I missed those Kansas
City Chiefs the Raiders dealer matchups when the Seahawks we're
an AFC. Thanks kick my call, guys.
Speaker 3 (18:39):
You know, as a Seahawks fan, I would love that
if Patrick Mahomes wasn't in that division, like I felt
like they had to deal with John Elway for you know,
for so long, and now that they have to deal
with Mahomes, maybe the NFC West now is a little
bit more manageable. It took me forever to realize that
we're not cheering against the Broncos and Raiders in Chiefs anymore,
(19:00):
and even the Chargers for that matter, because you're just
so used to those the rivals. But yeah, I wouldn't
mind it, I think because it's how I grew up.
I wouldn't mind the Seahawks back of the AFC West
just for nostalgia purposes, and the throwback uniforms make it
even more so. So yeah, I can get on board
with what Michael was saying.
Speaker 2 (19:18):
I knew that one would be close to your heart.
By the way, we do have one more caller. Let's
let's go ahead and get to Andy in Oregon. You
are on with Dan Byron, Aaron Torres filling in for
Cavino and Rich.
Speaker 6 (19:30):
Hey, guys, I got too real quick.
Speaker 7 (19:32):
FIRSTUS music, it would be Steve Perry with Journey because
I'm thirty.
Speaker 6 (19:36):
Nine, so I just missed him before he left the band.
Speaker 3 (19:38):
Sure, and then my seconds a little more recent, I
missed Damee Lillard. I know it hasn't been long, but
I miss the same time.
Speaker 1 (19:46):
Good. That's good.
Speaker 5 (19:47):
Good one.
Speaker 3 (19:48):
Could he do something with the Bucks first before he
goes back, please?
Speaker 2 (19:53):
I mean, that's literally the most versatile player in the
NBA that would help every single team for a five
to nine point guard that's not really helping you out
all very much.
Speaker 3 (20:01):
So oh, please, just at least something this year and
then and then he can he can go back. And
by the way, I'm completely on point with Journey, but
as much as because I am, I side with Steve
Perry in the Journey debate. But Journey did what you're
supposed to do. Journey went and found the singer that
sounds as close to Steve Perry as you can find
(20:22):
all these other bands try to find other singers that
don't sound remotely like their previous singer, and so none
of the songs sound the same. So then the guy,
then the lead singer, goes as a solo artist and
everybody goes to their shows because he just plays the
hits from his former band. Who cares who's playing bass
and drums as song as the guy who's singing it
(20:42):
is singing those songs Journey. I got to give him credit.
They did it right and keep on rocking. But I
would love to see Steve Perry back with Journey.
Speaker 1 (20:50):
You know, I'm not much of a music guy, so I.
Speaker 4 (20:53):
Know, I know it's a great poll to be a
music got to get this joke. But if Steve Perry
reunites with Journey, could they change the name to Destination?
Speaker 1 (21:05):
I get.
Speaker 3 (21:07):
I thought there's gonna be like a like a h
there'll be a wheel in the sky. Before before Steve Perry,
I thought there was gonna be a song pun that reunion.
Sam's gotta love that one. Wait, he's got a Journey song.
He's trying to think of right now how he can
(21:28):
incorporate it right, Well.
Speaker 8 (21:29):
We have to we have to stick with the original
source material, which is Oasis. So they're already on the docket.
Maybe Journey will make an appearance later in the show.
I had a quick one seventy five percent of led
Zeppelin is still alive and they haven't played together since
two thousand and seven. H Robert Plant actually just came
out to I believe a local casino here with Alson
Krauss and performed. Yet Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones
(21:54):
are still out there and why aren't they playing together?
They haven't been together since two thousand and seven, like
I said, And so get on that.
Speaker 3 (22:00):
It would make billions, Yes, and there is there is
something to it. Obviously John Bonham's death ended the band,
right but John bottom Son Yeah, yeah, so there's so
there's you could do that, and I think an honor, right,
I mean, if at least for the fans, if you
were to do something like that. I know, you know
(22:22):
one of the popular videos you see that that circulates
on YouTube and on TikTok is is when Heart did
you know? Stairway to Heaven with uh at the what
was it? The Kennedy Awards Show like honoring led Zeppelin
and so John Bottom's son, as you said, Jason played
the drums during that performance. It was great. You must
see on social media or on any media for that matter.
(22:44):
But you could do it that way. I think that
would be That's acceptable, not just getting the three together
and throwing in some random goun No.
Speaker 8 (22:51):
Yeah, like well you see, like who's who I think
of the guy Bradley from Sublime? Sorry, his his son
came and is singing with the band now. And yeah,
like Jimmy Page and Robert Plant and John Paul Jones
all have their chop still, why not be out there
performing as a unit as the original You know, led Zeppelin,
(23:12):
which is the most popular bands of all time, have
sun play drums?
Speaker 3 (23:15):
Yeah? Good nominees on our reunions on who you would
like to see? If you have any more?
Speaker 5 (23:20):
I got a music one. Sorry you're not here, so
I can't make gestures at you, you know.
Speaker 3 (23:24):
What I The gestures usually have the middle finger from
hold on.
Speaker 1 (23:32):
That would maybe. How about the rap duo Outcast.
Speaker 5 (23:38):
They never like announced a breakup, but they broke up,
you know what I mean?
Speaker 3 (23:41):
Either of them?
Speaker 1 (23:42):
Have we even heard that much? Yeah? Bring them back together.
Speaker 3 (23:46):
Big Boy and Andre three thousand.
Speaker 5 (23:48):
Let's do it.
Speaker 1 (23:49):
No, Yeah, yeah, yeah, miss I like that.
Speaker 3 (23:53):
I like that a lot. Yeah, there's a lot of
reunions that you could go. KFC and good Food that
would be another one and accurate. I'm KC used to
be the best. It used to be the best. I'm
sorry just right now, you know, maybe it's not there.
It's mid Yeah it is, thank you, but they're going
(24:16):
back to their original sort of week yeah flavors with
their nuggets and all that. I will give them a
tip of the cap for that, all right. It is
Communo right here at Fox Sports Radio. He's erin Torres.
I'm Dan Bayer, Mazzi Belanios hanging out, as is Jason Stewart,
the show's executive producer, and Iowa Sam coming to you
on this Tuesday again. Guys were in for the Herd
(24:38):
earlier today on Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 7 (24:41):

Speaker 3 (24:54):
It's Communo and right here at Fox Sports Radio, I'm
Dan Byer. He is erin Torres. You know, have Steve
or Rich. They were in earlier today for The Herd
on Fox Sports Radio talking unions on the news at
Oasis is getting back together to perform fourteen shows next summer.
We don't know if there's gonna be any new music.
(25:15):
We don't know if they're coming to the States, but
at least these fourteen dates have had a lot of
music fans hoping for even more, but maybe we should
take what we can get. In Aaron, I would also
say our reunion talk has been so good. I know
there's some other people that want to want to chime
in on this topic. It is not a given that
these concerts actually happen. When you're talking about the Gallagher brothers,
(25:37):
so I know there's gonna be a lot of money
on the line that may over override everything. But I
wouldn't put it past them to have something happen to
this completely fall through and then we're waiting another fifteen years.
So I just want everybody to be cautious. If you
are a fan of.
Speaker 2 (25:51):
Oasis, absolutely, Dan, we're gonna get to the calls in
half a second. Should remind everybody. Rapid radios are instant
push to talk walkie talkies at offering national LTE coverage

All right, let's go to the phone lines reunions in
sports that we would like to see. Let's get to
Nick in Virginia Beach. Nick, you're on with Dan Byron
Ertoris filling in for Covino and Rich.
Speaker 9 (26:27):
Not necessarily in sports, but in music, Haalen love that.
Speaker 3 (26:33):
You know, they could never seem to get it right.
On another they blamed David Lee Roth for a lot
of that, but now with Eddie van Halen, not with us,
like if we could bring him back, and yeah, that
would be that would be amazing. But were you.
Speaker 1 (26:51):
I know, yes, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 3 (26:54):
Yeah, I don't think you're a huge Van Halen fan,
but I'm thinking if you were, you'd probably side with
David Lee Roth. That's where any true fan goes.
Speaker 2 (27:03):
Yeah, no, I mean listen, in the hierarchy of all
things van Halen, it's you know, David Lee Roth number one, and.
Speaker 8 (27:09):
Oh come on Samy is pretty good, all.
Speaker 2 (27:11):
Those other guys number two, So what would you do
Wolfgang van Halen with Sammy or David Lee Roth and
then the other members.
Speaker 3 (27:17):
Well, Sammy and Michael Anthony performed together. They did, They
got their you know version of the band performing together.
Speaker 8 (27:26):
So I got to see Sammy Hagar perform a few
years ago at the Really iHeart Burbank Theater.
Speaker 3 (27:32):
It was really fun, nice.
Speaker 1 (27:33):
Yeah, he was great.
Speaker 3 (27:34):
Yeah, it's nothing against Sammy Hagar and.
Speaker 1 (27:37):
He's not the original.
Speaker 3 (27:39):
Well, yeah, there's just something different. I think Jason Stewart
would agree. I think.
Speaker 4 (27:44):
Really the only I think, the only person I've ever
heard like who has a distinct opinion that the Hagar
van Halen yours are better is Doug Gottwick. But the
more I find out about Doug's music case, it's very unsophisticated, unrefined.
And I'll say this to he knows this, but no doubt,
the original Van Halen kicked ass. And then I think
(28:06):
the thing that sums up the most recent version of
Van Halen is their biggest song right now was the
anthem for Clear Pepsi and that worked out really well.
Speaker 3 (28:19):
Van Hagar, I love it what people call it Van
Hagar for those years. Do we have one more Redian
talk than Manzi's got to give us the latest of
what's going on today.
Speaker 1 (28:27):
Yeah, we have Dave in Oregon.
Speaker 2 (28:29):
Dave, you're on with Covino and rich Aaron Torres and
Dan Byer filling in for the guys.
Speaker 1 (28:34):
Go ahead, Dave.
Speaker 9 (28:35):
Hey, guys, I've had that to a show here in
Bend in Oregon. The Doobie Brothers are showing up and
Michael McDonald is on tour with them.
Speaker 3 (28:51):
All right. I've told the story about seeing Michael McDonald
with Toto, and obviously Michael McDonald, you know, was the
front man for the Doobie brother This for a while,
but there was also some strain when Michael McDonald was
the lead singer of the Doobie Brothers. So there's an
actual reunion that is happening. But I saw Michael McDonald
(29:11):
and Toto one night at the it was either at
the Greek or the Hollywood Bowl, I can't remember exactly
what it was. But then Toto's playing I'll Be Over
You and Michael McDonald's on background vocals. And there's nothing
better at a concert, Aaron, than when you hear ladies
and gentleman and then they bring out like the person
or like the duets, you know what I mean. It's Oh,
(29:34):
it's what a rush, Manzy Belanios, who's going to give
us the latest of what is happening on this Tuesday
in the world of sports, You know, right, there's nothing
greater than something like that of bringing out that special
guest that we all knew was probably gonna show up,
even though that because he was going to be playing later,
but still there's a rush when you bring out that
special guest. Super Bowl shows when you're like, who is
(29:55):
so and so going to bring out?
Speaker 2 (29:57):
It's great tomedy shows. Sometimes you'll get that every once
in a while.
Speaker 3 (30:00):
Yeah, yeah, no, it is pretty great.
Speaker 5 (30:02):
When I saw j Low and then Enriqueless Yes came out,
I was like, what what this was years ago and
that was such a great moment.
Speaker 1 (30:10):
I didn't know it was going to be out.
Speaker 2 (30:12):
Oh, I was at I was at the Dave Chappelle
comedy show, sadly and ironically the one where somebody rushed
the stage, but right before Dave Chappelle Chris Rock out.
Speaker 7 (30:21):
I know her.
Speaker 2 (30:21):
It was just like, yeah, I'm in town and I'm
here and I'm doing this so good. He was honestly
better than Dave Chappelle, but crowd went that was like,
literally if you could have seen the smile on my face,
that was probably one of the happiest moments in my life.
Speaker 3 (30:33):
Oh that's cool. That happened with One time Jerry Seinfeld
showed up. He had like a Tonight Show gig the
next week, and he wanted to try out his new material. Yep,
so he just went down to Melrose and tried it
out on us. What's okay? All right, I'm not sure.
Wait wait, no, I got want more of you.
Speaker 5 (30:49):
One moment in concerts. I know you don't know who
Kevin Richardson is. He was part of Backstreet Boys. Yeah,
well maybe everybody else listening, but you know how he left.
Speaker 1 (31:00):
Now he's back.
Speaker 5 (31:01):
And so they were in concert and I was watching
them at Staples at Staple Center when it was called
Staple Center, and he came out and it was such
a moment because he wasn't part of the group, but
he only came out here in LA and it was
so so good.
Speaker 4 (31:14):
I have a question something you covered before the update.
Very interesting. Tell me why the Backstree Boys would want
Richardson back in the band.
Speaker 1 (31:23):
No, he is me?
Speaker 5 (31:25):
Why because then they're not the Backstree Boys without him.
Speaker 1 (31:30):
Okay, I think you just wanted to show up.
Speaker 4 (31:32):
Thank you.
Speaker 3 (31:33):
That was the joke, thank you. Sure. Yes. Also like
to that point, it helped because Kevin does live in
southern California and to show up at the show at
Staples at that time made a lot of sense because
he was, you know, a local guy. But it was
also nice of them to give Kevin versus by himself
on Millennium because otherwise it was just Brian niked Agents
(31:56):
singing the whole time. And then they're like Hollie and
Kevin at least a couple of least. Yeah, yeah, because
there are girls that loved those two guys. But they
have solo, a lot of solo versus how he had
more than Kevin. Kevin was like fifth on the list.
Kevin sometimes was sixth. I think there are only five
members of the Baxbek Boys. All right, I know, Aaron,
(32:18):
that's a lot. I know he's Aaron Torres. I'm Dan
Beyer in for Cavino and rich here on Fox Sports Radio.
There's a big deal that went down with an NFL superstar.
We told you it was big? How big? How about
nine figures? Who's getting that? He's Aaron, I'm Dan. We'll
tell you next year on Fox Sports Radio. And there's
(32:40):
one feeling that we know more than anything. It's that
electric buzz of game day all around you. And when
you're looking for that same vibe, you have to check
out Graduate Hotels. A stay at Graduate Hotels is like
stepping onto the field in those college towns.

the Graduate Hotels in Nashville, Tennessee, Eugene, Oregon, and Tempe, Arizona.
And they're doing another broadcast next month at the Graduate

Speaker 3 (33:05):

Speaker 3 (33:43):
Exkivino and Rich here on Fox Sports Radio. He's Er Torres.
I'm Dan Byer sitting in for the guys on this Tuesday.
Thanks to Monsey, Jason and Sam for all of their contributions,
and thanks to all of you chimed in on our
reunion talk in the reunions that we want to see,
whether it be in sports, or in music, or even
(34:04):
anywhere else. On the heels of the Oasis News today,
the Kelsey Brothers are going to be reuniting for another
season of the New Heights podcast, and Aaron, There's going
to be more and more seasons because the Hollywood Reporter
reports that the Kelsey Brothers have signed a nine figure
(34:25):
multi year deal to continue their podcast with Wondering. They've
also secured the rights to adapt the podcast into other languages.
But a nine figure deal for the chiefs tight End
and his all pro but not retired brother Jason on
the New Heights Podcast.
Speaker 2 (34:44):
So I think the Cavino and Rich audience probably just
thinks that I don't know what they think I do
in my free time, because I'm not really a music guy.
I'm not really a movie guy. And I've never listened
to the New Heights podcast. And that's not like I'm
in the business, and you know, I don't with them.
It's like, no, I respect what they've built. It's just
I don't think it's for me. But I guess I
(35:06):
just wonder it is I think either the first, second,
third biggest podcast in the world.
Speaker 1 (35:12):
But do you know, like, is it.
Speaker 2 (35:14):
Designed for the swifties, like kind of a loose football talk,
but we're really talking about pop culture?
Speaker 1 (35:21):
Is it about their family?
Speaker 2 (35:23):
Because it's not hardcore obviously we know it's not breaking
down next as a oh yeah, I go ahead.
Speaker 1 (35:29):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (35:29):
No, I don't know because I also haven't listened to it,
and I'm in the same boat as you. It's not
it's not trying to brag or saying we don't need
to listen to that. It's just I I never ended
up doing so. But you know, there's when you see
clips and their podcast would bring a lot of clips,
and a lot of those clips will make people listen
to podcasts. And I always feel like, well, I will
(35:51):
know what I need to know by hearing the clips
that somebody brings out or whatever Travis says or Jason says.
Obviously he was not dating Travis was not dating Taylor
Swift when this podcast started. So because even the conversation
that they had early on he and Jason about like
the friendship bracelets and what he was going to you know,
(36:13):
like try to meet up with her or whatever at
Arrowhead Stadium and the whole deal that podcast was going
on at that time. So I do think it was
intended for us. And there was also you know, they
got so much pub when they played in the Super
Bowl and that whole family sure, you know, so like so, yeah,
so it expanded into like that sort of fan base.
(36:35):
I think that's who it was for. And now you
add the Swifties to it like that is that is
crazy to me that it could be a nine figure deal.
Speaker 1 (36:43):
Yeah. I guess that that's where it would make sense.
Speaker 2 (36:45):
Is that the thing probably really blew up as the
you know, people found it as they started dating and
then as you said, they met in the super Bowl.
Speaker 1 (36:53):
Whatever. Are there new Swifties that are.
Speaker 2 (36:55):
Unaware that are going to find this or is it
just the it's probably just that the audience is so
big at the point that it's worth the investment from Amazon.
So yeah, yeah, I don't know. I listen, you know.
I mean, there's been all sorts of big media acquisitions
in kind of the podcast digital space. We've heard that
they were next in line or that there was going
to be a big dollar figure around them, and listen.
Speaker 1 (37:17):
Credit to them. They clearly do an entertaining show that
people enjoy.
Speaker 6 (37:20):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (37:20):
Like I said, I just haven't had the opportunity to
listen to it yet.
Speaker 3 (37:23):
The I think that the initial part was about football,
and we'd heard them talking about stories and stuff like that. Obviously,
I think to your point, yes, it has expanded with
Taylor Swift. Here's my The first question that I had is,
what about if their relationship doesn't work out? Oh yeah,
that's the worst deal with a football player since Albert Haynesworth.
Oh you are not cashing in and the the angst
(37:46):
and the and the hate that you could get from
the Swifties if it doesn't work out for them, it's
pretty massive. Like even that is something that you would
have to think that there'd be a you know, a
safety net with and I'll say another thing with Jason
re hiring, I wondered how far along Travis was to retirement.
Now you have this deal and I don't know what
multi year is, I don't know how many years they're
(38:07):
actually doing this. I think this actually keeps Travis in
the game more to try to be, you know, to
continue to be Travis kelcey the Chiefs head end and
boyfriend of Taylor Swift, because if he were to retire,
then he's just the boyfriend of Taylor Swift. Sure, so
I actually think this could elongate Travis Kelce's playing career
(38:28):
with the Kansas City Chiefs with having this new podcast deal.
Speaker 2 (38:32):
I know we got to run, but I've said this
about Aaron Rodgers, like he immediately just becomes weird guy
that does podcasts if he retires. Now he's like the
football guy that you kind of listen to on all
these shows. I don't know if that makes sense in
like a ten second sound bite, but I think we
care a lot less about his conspiracy theories if he
isn't throwing touchdowns.
Speaker 3 (38:50):
Sure, no, it's a fair point, and football fans will
still listen and you'll see Jason on ESPN doing his
stuff as well, so you'll need to kind of have
that mystery of a player with I was still playing,
all right, Aaron, It's been a lot of fun. Thanks
to Monzi Belanos, Iowa, Sam and Jason Stewart for Aaron Torres,
I'm Dan Byer. This has been Cavino one Rich a
Tuesday edition on Fox Sports Radio.
