We'll go round the room. And by the way, I
just saw a commercial. You talk about shows you're trying
to catch up on and you miss Yeah, New Dexter's out,
the New Dexter original sin Yeah, Chrismilan Am I right?
(01:13):
They recasted all the characters as younger versions and it's
when Dexter was a kid. It does look cool that's
out now. But Great Cast. I saw Great Caster an
ad for the Last of Us Pedro Pascal on HBO Max.
Everyone was loving that show. I feel like that was
like years ago. Season two comes out after the New Year.
Oh really yeah, Season two's in the mix. They waited
(01:35):

by the way. This hour brought to you by Scones

McGregor talk Real Quick and AI Judges AI Judging in Sports.
You you just perfectly proved my point. As we're about
(02:20):
to get back into some NFL NFC playoff talk. We
just teased like twenty things. We talked about Damn Scones.
We talked about TV shows that are coming back. I
was Sam seems very pleased with the casting on Dexter.
I mean that is the sentiment for the show. Who
is a Christian Slater's in it? Christian Slater plays his
dad Harry, Remember Harry's code. Yeah, there's other people on
(02:43):
the show. It looks just a preview. Sara Michelle Geller is, yeah, yeah, yeah,
it looks I didn't even really watch Dexter, but this
looks really really good. Honestly, if you haven't watched Dexter,
if you need to watch like an old show, I
would give Dexter a total thumbs up. I start with
the prequil though. Yeah, it's narrated by Michael C. Hall
and they're saying they're totally recapturing the original vibe, which
is great because that was a great show. But anyway,
(03:04):
my point is we're talking about TV. We're talking about
the NFL playoff situation. We're talking about AI in sports,
Cody Bellinger to the Yankees. There's a lot going on.
You know, who's sitting in the corner crying right now,
NBA front office people, because we have not mentioned one
time Byer mentioned the All Star Mini Tournament. But tonight's
(03:26):
the isn't tonight the Cup final? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (03:29):
I try to talk to you guys about this in
the pre show meeting today and neither of you even
knew who was playing.
Speaker 1 (03:35):
Actually the moment you asked me that right in my eye,
I guess that's how the algorithm works. Sometimes. I opened
up my social media and it was Yanna saying that
they can't like, they can't lose. Losing is not an option.
They're gonna win. This guy said to Danny, I go, I, okay,
see versus somebody the Nicks. But you got it half right.
It's it just proves the point that no one's in
(03:55):
that NBA mindset. Hey, listen, maybe other shows, maybe other hosts,
but here on our show, well, you know where our
heads are at. NFL college football still after the Super Bowl,
college football bowl games, baseball winter meetings, and free agency.
These are where, you know, I think a lot of
people are thinking some good fights coming up. There's some
gimmicky fights coming up, and the ratings are showing that
(04:16):
in the NBA. We've discussed it. It's yeah, So I
feel not off the mark when you see that ratings
are down twenty five plus percent. I don't feel like, Wow,
we're really missing the NBA Cup because I don't know
if anyone cares about it. Did Doug talk about it?
Dan Byer, No, he's an NBA he's a basketball guy. Nope,
didn't happen. It just proves.
Speaker 3 (04:38):
I'll also add another thing to it, because there's another
sport that's near and dear to my heart that hasn't
done a great job of promoting itself. And the division
within this sport is golf. And right now there's a
pay per view Rory McElroy Scotti Scheffler match against Brooks,
Koepka and Bryce and to Shamba. Then nobody also knows
about that. Nobody's talking about.
Speaker 1 (04:56):
Or stars stars. Yeah, yes, nobody that was about it. Yeah,
that's sometimes our jobs sho to get people hyped, like
there's a big fight coming up this weekend, and I
don't hear anybody talking about it. So I feel like
it's my duty to make sure people know about it. Yeah,
you're a big golf guys, always feel free to be like, guys,
you're missing out of because Canino's very quick to tell
(05:17):
us about who's boxing.
Speaker 2 (05:18):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (05:18):
No, but it's the organic nature. Like I get what
Kevino was saying, but there's also just the point of
and as I'm sitting here reading the stories, what's a
bigger story that the NBA Cup is tonight or that
Raheem Morris was noncommittal about Kirk Cousins being a starting quarterback.
Speaker 1 (05:31):
Yeah, I think that's a way bigger story a coach's
speculation or I hate to say, it's a washed former
MVP going to the Yankees. Yeah, but you know what,
that time turned really quick, man, because NBA was creating
its own storylines for a long time. Yeah, and now
it seems like we're a little disinterested for whatever reason.
We've been exploring that. Now, back to the NFC North
(05:54):
And by the way, if you're watching the NBA Cup tonight, okay,
see five and a half point favorites and Giannis is saying,
you know, it's a must win, they're gonna win, So
maybe lay a few buckeroos on money line bucks tonight.
Gianni's coming in with some fire or what thunder have
a strong squad like Giannis over thirty points, Bucks win
(06:15):
a little parlay action, so hey, you know, maybe give
you something to make you want to watch now. NFC
number one seed, Lions, Vikings, Eagles all twelve and two.
Like I said, one team will be the one seed,
one will end w in the two seed, and one
of those North teams will be the wild card. And Kivino,
(06:35):
let me throw the schedules at you and that's the
easiest way to start, and then there's some tiebreaker action.
But as of right now, you don't want to hear
this because it's a team that no one really wants
to see in the Super Bowl unless you live in
Philadelphia and you want some cheese steaks, Pats Geno's give
me the where do we go spot? Last time? Is it?
(06:57):
Joe's Tony Tony? The Eagles play all division games, three
division games to end the season. Eagles trying to fight
for the one seed. You know, nine in a row
since their bye week, nine in a row. I'm awa,
it's a ten in row since the ten in a row,
since the bile row, they've won ten in a row.
(07:19):
And they play the Commanders, Cowboys and Giants. You might
stamp that fifteen and two ticket right there. Yeah, I
maybe the Commanders give them a little a little trouble,
but I don't even know if I see that to you,
that was early season Commanders. They were playing big, they're
playing nice. This game is in DC, is in Washington.
(07:41):
Philly is favored by three and a half on the road,
and the other two games should be cakewalks for me,
unless you think the Cowboys and rush Is gonna play spoiler. Okay,
so you got the fifteen and two Eagles. Wow? Huh
Yeah after starting ten to two and US saying they've
been understated all year, that means thirteen game win streak
(08:01):
to end it. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (08:02):
Sometimes those in division games, though, are slug fest. Guess
the teams know each other so well.
Speaker 1 (08:08):
Imagine if the Giants f M week eighteen. If imagine
if Tommy DeVito or someone like is the reason why
the Eagles don't get the one seed, How embarrassingly awesome
would that be?
Speaker 4 (08:19):
Oh, I got your Philly, That.
Speaker 1 (08:23):
Would be Tony. That would be the biggest f you
from New York to Philly, which you know that rivalry. Imagine.
Imagine imagine if the Eagles just needed to win and
they're the one seed, and Tommy Duvito is your demise
that Almighty got something root for? All right, all right,
let's go to the Vikings. Vikings have the hardest path,
but I also feel like they're the most underrated of
(08:44):
all these teams. Right. The Vikings play three playoff teams
to finish, which is why they're their odds are the lower.
The Eagles have it, like I said, a cakewalk in
their division. Maybe the Commanders give them some trouble and
the joke of maybe Tommy DeVito, Right, listen to the
Vikings play, because this is this is not simple at all.
(09:06):
The Minnesota Vikings have to go all the way west
Pacific northwest to be specific, to play Dan Byer's Seattle
Seahawks in Seattle. So the Vikings have to go to Seattle.
Then they come home to play the Packers. Okay, so
(09:27):
two tough games I think are the dark course of
the NFC. They just had a couple tough losses in there.
I think the Packers are as elite as these teams.
They're just not going to get a one seat. And
as we mentioned, the Vikings are seven and one at home.
So Vikings at Seahawks then they have to come home
to play the Packers again, two playoff teams likely, and
then they finished the season Vikings at Lions. Wow. So
(09:53):
let's say they take two of those games and that's
that's ambitious. But that's fourteen, fourteen and three. Yeah, all right, Lions,
So that means you got the Eagles at fifteen and two,
Vikings four fourteen and three. If we're being ambitious, let's go.
Let's go Lions. Now, Lions play at the Bears. I
(10:17):
mean they should handle that game, especially coming off of
a loss against the Bills. They score points, they'll win.
They're banged up, but they'll score points. So they got
a w there. They're playing on Monday night in San Francisco.
They should wipe the floor with the Niners, especially with
the Niners season being over. But what if the Niners say, yeah,
we want to play spoiler and you know that team
(10:39):
could get up for that game. But I still think
the Lions should win that game. So it really comes
down to Lions Vikings final game of the season that
that could very well mean who's the number one seed.
And then when you look at that NFC Lions, Vikings, Eagles, Packers,
(11:01):
those are four great teams. You know, for anyone that
thought the NFC was the weaker of the conferences, because
for a minute it was like, yeah, the AFC seems
to have a leg up. I think the injuries are
gonna really impact the Lions in this final stretch here.
You know what, that's tough. It's Montgomery like that. So
(11:23):
I don't know that's tough for the Lions. I think
they got a tough break there. And co you know,
just for the heck of it, the Packers play the Saints,
the Vikings, and the Bears, so they could very well
end up they'll be like a twelve and five really
solid team going into the postseason. So twelve and five
the Packers no slouch. So again, Lions, Vikings, Eagles, Packers.
(11:44):
And then on top of that, your boy Colin and
you both high on Baker Mayfield. You don't want to
bump into Baker. Baker Mayfield is a star eight and six.
They're on a four game winning streets that he said,
despite popular belief that he hates Baker Mayfield, he said
he actually offered Baker Mayfield the job turned them down
(12:04):
on the Volume Network. Yeah that was the Star Stars.
He's a star Stars. Well, guess what the Buck you
know Mayfield is going to battle. I agree with them
there for sure. The Bucks are eight and six, and
I want to be shocked if they won out they
play the Cowboys, the Bucks in the Saint I'm sorry,
they play the Panthers in the Saints. Those are two
w's right, They're gonna be an eleven and six reasonably,
(12:28):
you know, solid team. Don't discount them because they're hot
right now. They've won four in a row. And the Rams,
the Rams have won three in a row and they've
won what nine of their last ten I'm sorry, seven
to the last eight or something, whatever it is. The
Rams are hot. So the NFC is going to be
really great playoff football. I see no real weakness all
(12:50):
these moving parts to either lose to the Bills or
the Chiefs. Probably the Bills. I mean, Danny g When
you look at that NFC, doesn't it feel a lot
more solid than we anticipated when we started this year?
Me you Covino, Dan bayer Iowa, I was saying, we
all agreed. We thought it was like forty nine Ers
or Lions, maybe the Packers, Like, yeah, a lot of
(13:12):
us took the Lions.
Speaker 2 (13:13):
You and I, even before preseason talk, were high on
the Commander's new leadership and of course Jade and Daniels.
But you know, and as you said, second half of
the season, they're not playing as good as they did
out The.
Speaker 1 (13:25):
Commander's could be very proud, Danny g. They'll be very
proud of a playoff berth and likely an early exit.
But that's a great step in the direct, in the
right direction for Washington.
Speaker 2 (13:36):
In the surprise has to be the Rams in first
place now in the NFC West, because you're right, so
many people like yourself included, wanted to see the Niners
hopefully catch that window before it closed.
Speaker 1 (13:48):
And they doesn't appear like it will be. Maybe they
revamp and come back next year. But Dan Bayer Week eighteen,
you got to be a little fired up anticipating Seahawks
at Rams. Are you gonna try to hit up that
game out here? Are you too busy on the art
Fox Sports here on the air.
Speaker 3 (14:01):
At Fox Sports Radio that game though, Yeah, I probably
wouldn't love being there anyway, to be honest with you,
it's yeah, driving yeah, yeah, it's It's happened in my
old age. But there's the other like turn of it
is over these last couple of weeks. Not a lot
can happen unless the Seahawks can completely fall in their
(14:22):
face for that game to not have meaning, Like I mean,
it's it's very likely going to have meaning. Danny says
Rams are in first place. They have the same record
right now, but yeah, Rams beat them earlier this year
in Seattle.
Speaker 1 (14:34):
I don't know if the Seahawks are peaking.
Speaker 3 (14:35):
They're just not up to the quality of the other
NFC teams that you mentioned, including the Rams right now.
But yeah, it's still there for him.
Speaker 1 (14:41):
So I think the NFC going into the playoffs in
a month from now, I think it's so much more
promising than we thought we really, I mean, I'll admit
I'm in niners Homer. I thought it was forty nine
ers and maybe like the Lions or Packers might give
them a little trouble. Remember, we thought, well, we saw
the Cowboy take a big step back, but we thought
(15:01):
the Eagles and the Cowboys would take a step back.
And we said, we said, well they well the South
who is Atlanta with Kirk Cousins movie, And that's likely
not the story. So you're looking at a really great
NFC playoff picture with Sam Darnold with the Lions, who
are a little more back to earth, now back to
reality because they have some injuries.
Speaker 2 (15:22):
You didn't mention the Buccaneers, who surprised a lot of
people by pounding that Chargers defense, which, yeah, one of
the best defenses in the whole league.
Speaker 1 (15:30):
Yeah, I told you. Cano and Cavino and Colin Cowhar
are gonna go have some lattes and talk about their
love of Baker Mayfield. He gets the team fired up
behind them tough, They're gonna play tough, no matter what.
You know, They're gonna play tough. You know he could
play and they lost it. Think of the wide receiver
injuries they endured early on in the season. So the
Bucks they fight, man, they play hard. So NFC looking solid,
(15:53):
really looking forward to the playoffs. And again, because my
Niners are out of it. I do, I do acknowledge
that I'm zoning out a little bit as the season
comes to an end because I just want the playoffs
to get here, because you see all these teams and
most of the playoff teams are locked in here before
you know it, I know, Week sixteen, let's go now, don't.
(16:13):
We don't need to really talk about the af SEGUS.
Is that a in your estimation? Is that a three
team race or are you even counting on Pittsburgh or
Houston or one of these teams to make noise? Maybe
Denver and that defense or is it really Casey Buffalo
and maybe the Ravens if they catch fire? Yeah? I mean,
do you get Pittsburgh? Do you get credit to the Ravens?
(16:36):
Damn by you give the Pittsburgh a little credit? Mind?
Am I still sleeping on the Steelers? I know they
got something gone.
Speaker 3 (16:40):
I think Pittsburgh could go to Buffalo and win. I mean,
the Bills in these great games of offense, so what
are their defense is done?
Speaker 1 (16:47):
Yeah, they're giving it up like thirty and forty spots
on the regular big games.
Speaker 3 (16:51):
I think Pittsburgh would be able to score against some
of their defense is good enough to at least keep
the Bills in check. I think that that would be
a nightmare matchup for the Bills if they ended up
facing that in the visional playoffs.
Speaker 2 (17:01):
I will prepare and then rich we In the NFC,
the last team we mentioned was the Bucks. AFC South
Texans are in first place at nine and five inconsistent,
so you don't know which Texans team might show up
in the playoffs.
Speaker 1 (17:15):
Last year they finished, remember how strong they finished and
everyone was like no, in their defense, surprised a lot
of people. Well that was a you know, if you
remember back, Cavino your your favorite player to talk about
the end of last year with c J. Stroud and
Danny G's for sure, you guys until c J. Stroud
the big time, Danny the super Bowl. Yeah. That is
interesting about the season though, because if you were to
pick a team, a most dominant team, you'd have to
(17:37):
say it's Buffalo this season. At least I would say
it's in the moment, say Eagles, but Buffalo, right, But
they also do let up a lot of points, So
it really is any one season, which makes it a
little more interesting. Rich, which is why I'm surprised you're
tuned out, And it all comes down to your forty
nine ers not being a season where it really could
be anybody's that's where you should be the most tuned in. Yeah,
(17:58):
I'm I'm in it, but it's it's it's more about
just anxious for the playoffs.
Speaker 4 (18:04):
Now.
Speaker 1 (18:04):
I really want to see these these key matchups, but
there's some great matchups. Like I said, getting into week
sixteen seventeen eighteen, the final, the final stages of the year.

blank A Tennessee tradition, B Tennessee Tornadoes or C Tennessee Tigers.
Speaker 1 (22:57):
Dan Buyer B. Yes, the Tennessee Tornadoes. That's good name.
I like that. No place like home buyer. HiT's on
the board.
Speaker 2 (23:09):
Yeah, the owner of the Titan City actually hated that
tornadoes idea.
Speaker 1 (23:12):
All right, we go to round two, Round two.
Speaker 4 (23:18):
What was I once quoted saying about my daily routine. A.
Every day is different, but I run through the same

I try to.
Speaker 4 (23:29):
Focus in on being the same routine every single day.
See in a league group chat, I text good morning
sunshine to the refs every single morning.
Speaker 1 (23:42):
What was I once quoted saying about routine. Yes, spotty

to say, see, I'm gonna I'm gonna go with a no.
Well Josh, oh, Josh with a quick steal yes answer.
Speaker 4 (23:57):
I try to just focus in on being in the
same routine every single day.
Speaker 1 (24:02):
You know, you don't text. You'll text the reps in
a group chap, good morning, Not every single day. Okay,
it's not my deal. It's like a weekly thing. Now

I'm sorry, No, Dan, you're a chance.
Speaker 3 (25:05):
Yeah, you know what, It's all good.
Speaker 1 (25:09):
Thanks Patrick, Merry Christmas to you.
Speaker 4 (25:11):
Hey guys, I gotta go arrest my ankle and have
a great one.
Speaker 1 (25:15):
I'll see you next week.
Speaker 2 (25:16):
Bye, Patrick and Josh, and to hatch Apete, thank you
for playing later.
Speaker 1 (25:20):
Josh, Thanks Josh Speader, Patrick Letter, Bud oh man, he's
always hyped, man. You know what, as the season starts
to wind up, you can see him getting more and
more hyped. You know, we say this going for it, dude.
You know you and I have worked together a long time.
In fact, yesterday we celebrated twenty years together. Twenty years
technically on Sunday, but we celebrated yesterday. And one of
(25:41):
our running jokes is in sports, we love to speculate
and we talk over and over and over about the
possibilities of all this matchup or this matchup, and for
years it was like, no matter what you said, it's
gonna be Brady, and we feel like the last five years,
(26:01):
we could speculate, Oh, maybe this is Josh Allen or
Burrow of this guy or that, and it's you know what,
It's like, Mahomes like, oh weeks like that stupid rom
com where this guy's always looking for this hottie to
be the one, but the one has been there the
whole time, knows his best female pal. Yeah, like she
was there the whole time, and you know the whole
time watching. Oh, he's gonna end up with her, She's
(26:23):
the perfect one all along? Is that really? Like watching
the NFL season, It's like, yo, could be that team,
could be this team. Man, this team looks hot, but
in the end, Oh, it's so obvious. All along it
was always the Chiefs. It was always you. Yeah, that's
how it feels. I think that being a forty nine
(26:44):
Ers fan, there's people that are Tom Brady fans. There's
a lot of people rooting against a three peat because
that is sacred, it's never been done, and that puts
Mahomes in his his own lane of goatness. That's I mean, Listen,
tom Brady couldn't seal the deal, Montana couldn't seal the deal.
Aikman and EMMITTT. Smith and Michael Irvin. That dominant Cowboys
(27:05):
team couldn't seal the deal the Steel Curtain. They won
back to back twice but could never win three in
a row. It is it is rare air pun attended
Michael Jordan. The Yankees three peated in baseball in our lifetime.
Three peats are I mean, repeats are extremely difficult. Three
peat is extraordinary.
Speaker 3 (27:26):
Yeah, And there's two sides of this, And I'm curious
and where you guys stand. Do you guys think it's
tougher now to do it because of parody in the NFL?
Or does the parody because everybody's the same make it
easier to stand out? Because I look at your forty
nine ers years rich, and I just feel like going
up against the Giants, going up against the Bears, the
(27:48):
Washington teams more difficult then than maybe what the Chiefs
or the Patriots had to deal with. No disrespect to
the Ravens teams, I just think that they're great, were great,
great teams in the eighth and even into the nineties,
And now because everything is supposed to be parody driven,
maybe it's a little easier to have that dynasty dynasty,
(28:09):
because everybody is just kind of the same, if you will.
Speaker 1 (28:12):
But there's also added rounds of playoffs now, so you
do have to win one more game than preview. Like
in baseball, right, it used to be like Championship World. Serious,
Now you have to go through a wild card into
this and that's the top seed. That's true, that's true,
but it is it is trickier. I agree with you, though, Dan,
I do think it might have been tougher back then.
(28:36):
But yeah, there was a point where Tom Brady, if
he got past Peyton Manning, he was there because no
one else really posed the challenge. But interestingly enough, we'll see.
I mean, right now, it looks like while they are
thirteen and one, you would think thirteen to one easily.
But I look at the Buffalo Bills. Patrick said they're
(28:57):
going sixteen and one, So we'll see. Seem pretty confident
about it. Hey, speaking of champs, I have a question
for you. Yeah, what's au buddy, Unless you got one
more thought on the NFL, I don't know. I've a
done thought about something that's going down tonight in my
own life. Oh well, I can make this real quick. Yeah,
get two stories in the world of fighting. Speaking of champs,
you know how we talked about certain things people don't
get hyped for. Yeah, you got Fury USK two this weekend.
(29:19):
I'm downs Weekend twenty first, so you get see Tyson,
Fury and Usik go it all at it again. I'll
out of the fight. Bring the leftover skelts. December twenty first.
Don't miss history in the making, brought to you by
Turkey Ala Chic. It's one of those Saudi Arabian fights, right,
but they're also introducing the first ever of its kind,
(29:42):
an AI power judge to monitor the fight free from
bias and human error. Brought to you by The Ring
Ring Magazine. Here's the only catch. Here's what I don't like.
This is it part of the official score. I would
say is brought to you and designed to bring fairness
to the scoring. It's a groundbreaking experiment, but it won't
(30:03):
impact the official results. But it debuts for the biggest
fight of the century this weekend. I think that's kind
of big because it's a step in the right direction.
I just wish it mattered some. But you're gonna get
AI judging for the first time in boxing, where it
desperately needs some sort of correction, right, so it's considered
(30:23):
a test run of sorts. And then the other side
story in the world of fighting today is this Connor
McGregor Logan Paul fight that's been talked about. And my
question to you is does anyone care. I'll watch, Yeah,
I don't care. Tell you it had or does it
water down the sport? I'll tell you why, Karen. But
first let me just remind people. If you're a casual
fight fan, Tyson Fury was undefeated. He had a draw
(30:48):
against Deontay Wilder that was a trilogy of greatness a draw,
and then he beat Deontay Wilder twice. He was twenty
eight to oh and one, twenty nine oh one, do
you own one? Thirty one, thirty two, thirty three, thirty four.
He lost to Alexander Usik. Usik beat him in his
(31:09):
last fight. It was Tyson Fury's first loss, and this
is the rematch. So even the casual fight fan, have
you got nothing doing this weekend and you need a
break from your holiday shopping and running around to all
your kids crap you're doing, and you know, gymnastics and plays,
and remember what Tyson said on our show. Mike Tyson
on our show said he should have won the first one.
(31:30):
He played around too much, He climbed around too much. Again,
I thought the early rounds because I do watch a
heavyweights a little closer im you know, I'm the guy
that loves heavyweights more than those lighterweights. So my point
is he should be able to redeem himself and take
this fight and take back the glory. But is this
one of those gonna be on a ten am because
it's like on in a weird place. Yeah, it's it's
gonna be an early fight because it's line from Saudi Arabia,
(31:50):
but it is this Saturday with the AI judging, so
should be interesting for sure. And like I said, the
other update is a rumor of Connor McGregor and Logan Paul.
Just a rumor, but there seems to be some truth
to it possibly happening. The reason why this is a
fight people would want to watch. And also I'll just
leave it with this, then we'll go to dem Bayer.
(32:11):
A lot of the gimmicky fights, there's a one sided
outcome we're rooting for, right, like Mike Tyson versus Jake
Paul oh Man. We all want to watch Mike Tyson.
Come on, Mike Tyson beat up Jake Paul or whatever
the gimmick is, we want it. It's clear who the
general public is pulling for. Who wouldn't want to see
Logan Paul or Connor McGregor get knocked on their s?
(32:32):
I think I think it's I think there's equal amount
of people that would be like, Yo, Logan Paul knocked
out Conor McGregor, how embarrassing thing is? And then if
McGregor knocked out Logan Paul all owns Connor McGregor in
this fight. I sad to see how that conn McGregor
much like your boy Deebo Samuel washed. He hasn't fought
in four plus years since twenty twenty one, I believe.
(32:55):
But you know what, your thoughts will get back to him.
That's your quick fight update your thought At eighty seven
seven ninety nine o F Fox, it's get an update
from Dan Byern.
Speaker 3 (33:03):
What's up dB guys. NBA Cup Final coming up tonight
at eight thirty Eastern time. Chris Middleton doubtful for Milwaukee.
While in the NBA, the new format for the All
Star Game was approved. The game in San Francisco in February,
we'll have four teams playing a total of three games
in a bracket style format. Twenty four all stars in
all will be divided into three teams. The winner of
the Rising Stars game will be the fourth squad. The
(33:23):
three teams will be drafted by Charles Barkley, Shaquille O'Neil,
and Kenny Smith, and each player on the winning team
will receive one hundred and twenty five thousand dollars.
Speaker 1 (33:31):
Cool Cubs traded outfielder.
Speaker 3 (33:33):
In first baseman Cody Bellinger to the New York Yankees,
now onto the NFL, where Falcons head coach Rahim Morris
says they're still going through the process of determining if
Kirk Cousins will remain their starting quarterback for Week sixteen
against the New York Giants. Patrick Mahomes listed as a
full participant in practice today despite a high ankle sprain.
It was a light workout for the Chiefs and you
can expect the same tomorrow. Head coach Andy Reid says
(33:55):
that Mahomes has not been ruled out of their game
Saturday against the Texans. Steelers have the Ravens on Saturday.
No practice today for TJ Watt or wide receiver George Pickens.
Titans starting Mason Rudolph at quarterback in week sixteen, according
to ESPN, while the Orange and Brown report says that
the Brons will start quarterback Dorian Thompson Robinson against the Bengals,
replacing Jamis Winston, and Flex's scheduling has taken place for
(34:17):
Week seventeen Sunday Night Football, Goodbye Dolphins and Browns, Hello
Falcons and Commanders on the night of December twenty ninth.
On December twenty eighth, a triple header on Saturday is
the Chargers at Patriots, Broncos at Bengals, and the Cardinals
at the Rams.
Speaker 1 (34:31):
Guys, back to you, Hey, a couple of fun facts TB.
Based on talking about the Falcons. We were talking about
the NFC. We kept talking about Baker Baker and how
Cavino and cal hurt and a lot of people really
on board with what Baker brings. You know, two of
their losses are against the Falcons. So if this were
(34:51):
to come down to a tiebreaker, because we're forgetting that
the Falcons have struggle, Kirk Cousins is not working out.
They want it, but they're seven and seven and the
the Bucks are eight and six. So this division is
still wide open with three games left. So if somehow
the Falcons gained one game over the final three, let's
say they go three and oh and the Bucks go
two and one. Guess what Falcons win the division? So
(35:16):
Michael Penick Junior hanging out there. Who knows what's going
to happen. So there's excitement in that division. So lots
of cool NFL in the final three weeks. And the
fun fact also is what team gave the Lions and
the Eagles both losses Buccaneers Baker in the Bucks yep.
So look at that. And just to give you the
thoughts on Usak Fury, Usik is going into the fight
(35:39):
as a minus one fifty favorite, Tyson Fury plus one twenty,
so it's sort of an even fight this weekend. All right,
We got to your thoughts next night, more Covin and
Rich right here on Fox Sports Radio. Now, we're not
TV weatherman, but we know a thing about driving in

That's Tyraq dot com, slash Sports, tire rack dot com
The way tire buying should be. Happy Holidays from your
pals CNR on FSR, Covino and Rich celebrating years together
(37:00):
this week. Three plus years here on Fox Sports Radio
are three favorite years, not just saying that even though
this great advice, if your wife or girlfriend ever asks
you who's the best, who is the best, you always
say whoever you're with, honey, unless you want a challenger
you honey. Of course, maybe she'll try harder if you
said someone else. I do mean it, hey, any final
(37:21):
thoughts by the way on this Connor McGregor, Logan Paul,
By the way, Logan Paul, not Jake Paul. Connor McGregor
Logan Paul fight rumor, because he's going around saying it's happening.
I mean, Jake Paul's way more hate heable, But I
think the only lore is that whoever wins, people enjoy
seeing the loser get beat. If Logan Paul loses, dude,
(37:42):
one of the Paul brothers gotten knocked out. If Conor
McGregor loses, then it'll be really wild to be like
Heil McGregor lost to a YouTuber and a wrestler. Connor's washed, right.
We don't know what he's got in the tank, to
be honest, but he hasn't fought in a long time.
Logan Paul not known for his fighting, known for his wrestling,
but he did fight and Mayweather go the distance with Mayweather.
But here's what sucks. We were talking about it in
(38:04):
our pre show meeting with Mike who runs this place,
Mike the guy who looks like Rick from Pond Stars
who Mike, oh an older stone Cult. Yeah, Mike, he's like,
hate that, by the way, because he's like, oh, you know,
I'm younger than Stone Cold. He was like, yeah, but
you know what we're gonna get. It's gonna go the distance,
like because Rich is saying, the redeeming benefit here is
(38:24):
you'd love to see both of those guys get knocked out.
So it's a win win, but it really is a
wash if it just goes to disc waste your time.
So Mike actually came up with a great idea. He's like,
I'd watch if they just went until it ends, until
somebody got that. But that's until somebody dies. No, no,
no no. But it's not a bad idea, right because
(38:45):
if they're gonna if they're gonna box, because Connor McGregor
is a mixed martial artist, but if he decides to
box Logan Paul and they box, but it goes until
someone wins. I think that's kind of cool, exciting. The
only thing exciting to see someone lose. You know how
in baseball we joked about the golden at bat. Yeah,
what if what if they gave u connor like the
(39:07):
golden kick, like one time throughout the fight, one time
he's just allowed to go UFC for a second, like
like he's allowed to strategically pick one time like dah.
I mean, it makes it enticing rich where I think
it really lacks. I don't think there's a huge market
for McGregor. Well, listen, you're talking about a lot of
week it's just because you're talking about excitement. We're talking
about a great NFL finish. We got a couple of
(39:28):
great weeks coming up. The NBA Cup Finals is tonight.
But you know what else is tonight? Trumping all of
these things trump my softball championship game? Are you serious?
Oh yeah, And I just had a question for you guys.
Are you gonna talk about this because I'm gonna take
a bathroom break. You're bringing the other team scones. It'll
slow them down. You know, tell me about your yoga
(39:54):
class spot. Is that what you want to talk about?
I mean, I don't bring those things on the air.
You just kidding, So aghade. No, but here's the question. Yeah,
it's a championship game. Put in perspective that it's a
championship well, at the same time, it is rex sports.
If we've had thirteen guys throughout the season, come and go,
because not everyone can make every week their kids got
(40:16):
to recital. Some guys like, yeah, I'm late at work,
I can't make this week, I'm on vacation. You can't
roll with a roster of ten or eleven guys because
you guys are gonna take time off championship game tonight.
If like twelve guys can make it, do you bat twelve?
If you can like extra hitters, it gets you. It's like, well,
(40:37):
you're giving everyone a chance. It's a bunch of grown
men that are there to have fun. Or it's like, no, dude,
we bat ten. We're trying to win. Trying to win?
What are you eight years old? No, everyone gets in
that bad. No. But you could say, well, what do
the stakes do? It's my man, and realize that no
trying to win. But if it's a bunch of thirty
forty fifty year old guys playing, is winning the trophy?
You mean anything? Isn't it really about the hang. So
(40:58):
it's a politically correct lameness about little every little kid
getting in that bat is the fact that it waters
down the winning aspect of the game. We're talking about
adults here, So we made that exception for kids, because hey,
they're just kids. Why can't adults then just wrap their
stupid heads around the fact that you're trying to win
the best n you get out there telling a guy, hey, Doug,
(41:20):
hey Doug, take some time away from your wife and
kids and everything to sit on the bench at softball.
Still you're still possibly needed in the championship games. What
to pinch hit? That's that baseball. You can't you can't
make all this fuss about little kids, and then adults
have to all at bat. They all have to bat.
Kids are leading towards something possibly playing in high school
(41:40):
college is that these are old guys just playing. Well,
I wouldn't want to waste my time if it wasn't
to win. So all right, well do you know what, Well,
I'll let you know how it works out there in
the Promised Land. Goodbye,
