Noise and our Graduate Hotels. You know a graduate, We're
all students. Now we're going to get to MIDWEK Major
with our buddy Spotty Boy in just a little bit.
But Kevino, I know you saw the good news that
Andy Dalton and his family they're good, right.
Speaker 1 (02:15):
Yeah, No, that's very good news, because that's scary. I
got in a car accident not even a month ago.
Everybody heard about it, and this one seemed to be
a little more severe because his whole family was there.
And now he has a sprain thumb, so he's out
this week. But again, they're happy to be alive, in fact,
happy to be safe, as she put out there on
(02:36):
social media.
Speaker 2 (02:38):
Now this did get us thinking because Andy Dalton arguably
one of the more successful redheaded athletes in sports today.
I mean, he's an NFL quarterback. I mean that's pretty
top of the line as far as success. So I
ask you, can you come up with a better mount
(02:59):
rushmore heads than I can? Because I feel like I
nailed it. I feel like I got.
Speaker 1 (03:02):
It in sports or period in life entered the entertainment space.
So I don't want you to be like c You know,
you know you could add Oliver from Brady.
Speaker 2 (03:11):
Bunch, but I would not. That's not a good one.
Speaker 1 (03:15):
You mean, are you thinking of Opie? Are you thinking
of Richard Cunningham kan pie haircut? He had like a
little blonde bowl cut, So forget him then.
Speaker 3 (03:25):
So I think.
Speaker 1 (03:28):
Canelo Alvarez is a legend, Vato Loco forever, and the
fact that he's Mexican with red hair, you know, makes
him extremely unique. Think about his story. His story is
sort of like Rudolph the red Nose Reindeer. He was
the laughing stock of the of the Mario and now
he's the fighting pride of Mexico.
Speaker 3 (03:49):
Like, now he's their hero with red hair.
Speaker 1 (03:52):
About Duco as we head into the world series another
red hair?
Speaker 2 (03:56):
What are you would adjusted turner on the list too?
This is an elite list and I and I got,
all right, Conan O'Brien. Okay, well let me tell you
what I got, and you tell me if you could
debate this Conan O'Brien. I got Conan O'Brien.
Speaker 3 (04:10):
Wow, that was just a guy.
Speaker 2 (04:12):
I'm a huge fan.
Speaker 1 (04:13):
Yeah, but I didn't know he was on your mount
Rushmore of celebrity redheads. Hey, I was saying, do you
know what year I started liking Conan O'Brien man.
Speaker 4 (04:24):
Let me take a let me take a guess here
and uh you know, hold on, yeah, how about this year?
Speaker 3 (04:34):
Man? How'd you guess?
Speaker 2 (04:36):
So I'm gonna go Conan O'Brien Canelo Alvarez.
Speaker 1 (04:41):
Oh wow, Louis can You're crazy for that one. That's
controversial and edge sheeran, Oh my goodness. I mean every
list is made with the intent of garnering some sort
of reaction.
Speaker 2 (04:54):
Come on, Louis c K.
Speaker 1 (04:57):
Now, I don't know if you really believe that nude
or if you really early you're gonna say he's bigger
than Bill Burr. Bill Burr's a ginger. Yeah, Bill Burr
shaved his head, though it doesn't count no more. Hey,
I'm a Louis ck fan. In fact, he's another redheaded
half kind of sort of vato loco forever. But he's
on your mount rushmore. Dude, what about what about uh
(05:20):
Sam Darnold? What do you want me to put uh
Ron Howard on the list? I'm telling you who I
know what?
Speaker 3 (05:25):
Hold on?
Speaker 1 (05:27):
Hold up for you to put Louis c K over.
Ron Howard tells me you don't put much thought into this.
Ron Howard is the king of all redheads. There's no
one more mastadon and Memethean than Ron Howard in the
ginger world. He's the most successful by far of anyone
we mentioned.
Speaker 2 (05:46):
Yeah, you know what Louis c k does me, It
makes me do all the time. Laugh.
Speaker 3 (05:51):
Yeah, that's not bigger than Ron Howard.
Speaker 2 (05:53):
Canello has brought me joy watching some great boxing. Conan
O'Brien laughs for decades, and Edge Hearing is one of
my favorite artists. I mean, he's defied all. Okay, so
redheaded guy is awesome.
Speaker 1 (06:04):
This isn't like the real redhead Mountain. This is like
Riches Mount Rushmore. Because you know, I love Ed Scheeran too.
He might be on it because he's so damn talented,
But I'm thinking David Bowie was was that a red wig?
Is he the most famous?
Speaker 2 (06:22):
I don't know?
Speaker 1 (06:22):
Is he the most famous redheaded guy in music?
Speaker 3 (06:26):
Think about it?
Speaker 5 (06:27):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (06:28):
You gotta throw Howdy do ity in consideration here.
Speaker 6 (06:30):
How could you guys leave Queen Elizabeth off this listad
who's redhead?
Speaker 2 (06:39):
I mean, I feel like I feel like I've thought
this alchemy put no effort.
Speaker 1 (06:43):
Rich wants to put a little orphananny on there. I'd
say you have to have Ron Howard. If we're making
a universal one, that's yours, rich and I respect.
Speaker 3 (06:55):
Everybody's entitled to their own Top four.
Speaker 4 (06:57):
I found a list of redheads their own you know what.
Speaker 3 (06:59):
I want to hear your list here, Iowa Sam.
Speaker 4 (07:01):
There's a lot of women especially, but like Danny Bonaducci's
on there.
Speaker 5 (07:05):
Yeah, Julianne Moore.
Speaker 1 (07:07):
Christina Hendricks is on mine for too obvious, not parts
of her body, her like Marsha Cross, No, her talent
and her beauty.
Speaker 4 (07:15):
Okay, Adams are saying is redhead.
Speaker 1 (07:18):
She's a natural blonde though. You know, Amy Adams is delightful.
She might be on my my Mount Rushmore too, she's
super talented.
Speaker 4 (07:26):
Who else Isla Fisher she's a redhead?
Speaker 5 (07:30):
Yeah, some people get those two confused.
Speaker 3 (07:33):
Okay, so mess what we're asking here.
Speaker 1 (07:35):
In tribute to the good news Nicole Kidman, the really
good news.
Speaker 4 (07:41):
She's like a strawberry blonde about Andy Dalton.
Speaker 2 (07:44):
Okay, by the way, did you hear the Nicole Kidman story?
Speaker 3 (07:47):
Oh yeah, Steamy, Yeah, so throw that.
Speaker 2 (07:51):
At Midweek Major just if he has a bonus, Okay.
Speaker 1 (07:53):
Okay, that has nothing to do with anything but okay, yeah,
pervert alert. There's so many other stories I could include,
but we're all included that one.
Speaker 5 (08:00):
The junk show was yesterday.
Speaker 2 (08:02):
In honor of damn it Andy Dalton. Maybe that aligns
with me putting Luis ckm I list Andy Dalton.
Speaker 1 (08:09):
He's fine. The family was involved in a car accident.
There is an update to that story. Dan Bye already
mentioned it. But that means that Bryce Young does get
the start, his first start since week two.
Speaker 3 (08:22):
So we got Bryce Young starting.
Speaker 1 (08:24):
Andy Dalton's all good, His thumb is recovering, the family's fine.
His wife put out an announcement. But because of the
Andy Dalton story, we're like, is he like a Mount
Rushmore athlete, redhead kind of guy? So that got us
thinking of your red headed ginger Mount Rushmore Dalton.
Speaker 3 (08:41):
Was that practice today?
Speaker 5 (08:42):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (08:42):
That's great news man, Yeah really because it could be
really scary.
Speaker 5 (08:45):
So he was checked out. Everything good based on that.
Not necessarily true, but that's okay, spring thumb. He's going
to try to be the number two quarterback. But spot,
if you want to do my job, that's totally fine.
Speaker 1 (08:58):
To practice facility a day after shot.
Speaker 2 (09:00):
Bar crash, scary moment for sure, everyone was, okay.
Speaker 5 (09:03):
This is the head coach.
Speaker 2 (09:04):
Coach in the accident, he did sprain his thumb.
Speaker 5 (09:07):
So Bryce will be playing this week and we'll be
evaluating Andy day to day going into this weekend to
see if we can get him up as the two
on game day.
Speaker 1 (09:14):
There it is, there is Should I say he was
going to be the QB? You said everything? Fine, spot,
That's all I'm saying. I'm just trying for what you're.
Speaker 2 (09:22):
Doing is you're forgetting that spot is the know it
all of the show. Come on, how dare.
Speaker 3 (09:26):
You he doesn't drink the clue?
Speaker 1 (09:28):
Stick to the real news. Yeah, the Klugsheiser spot. So
based on Andy Dalton? Do you respect or disrespect Riches
Mount Rushmore? Do you give it the boom or the doom?
Speaker 2 (09:40):
I'll give it the boom.
Speaker 3 (09:41):
What's your again? Rich again? What's your four by for?
Speaker 2 (09:44):
Coden? Oh? Bry?
Speaker 3 (09:46):
I like the coden one. I can agree on that one.
Speaker 2 (09:49):
Yah Sny Canelo Alvarez.
Speaker 1 (09:51):
I can't deny Canelo and his his impact on the sport.
Speaker 2 (09:55):
Take away his creepy moment. Think of how Louis c
k has made you laugh.
Speaker 1 (10:00):
No way and I love Louis c K. No, and
he has a tainted history. No way, he's on the
creep Bowl list. Who so so based on that, there's
someone else way more deserving than Louis k for as
much as I like him.
Speaker 5 (10:14):
Okay, Rupert, he's a redhead.
Speaker 1 (10:19):
I do Ron Weasley from Rupert Grint from uh Ron
Weasley Ron Weasley.
Speaker 3 (10:23):
Yeah, he doesn't make it. He makes mountain nothing.
Speaker 5 (10:26):
Don't you get Carrot Top.
Speaker 3 (10:28):
He's not on my mountain? What about carrot guy could buys.
Speaker 2 (10:31):
Aut Ca there Carrot Top show at the super Bowl
and he's, you know, been entertaining with props for forty years.
Speaker 5 (10:41):
Yeah, I said car Yeah, Como is looking at me.
Speaker 1 (10:44):
Yeah, I heard the voice. I didn't know where it
came from. Uh, Carrot Top. I love Carrot Top. I
can't deny carrat Top. He's he's been around for so long, dude,
he was doing Johnny Carson and we still talk about
it's like sixty years old.
Speaker 3 (10:58):
That's his name too. I mean that it's it's insane.
Speaker 4 (11:02):
What I don't get about a carrot top is the
top of a carrot is actually green.
Speaker 3 (11:05):
Oh that's funny.
Speaker 1 (11:06):
But here's here's what I say to the carrot, No, no,
it's not, it's not.
Speaker 2 (11:09):
Don't, don't, don't. It's a carrot is green.
Speaker 1 (11:15):
Carrot top over Louis c K just because he has
such legacy and he that's his name. It's not like
Louis c K is like, yeah, I'm ginger man or
anything like that. He owns that gingerbread man.
Speaker 6 (11:26):
How about how about three time Olympic gold medalist Sean White.
Speaker 5 (11:33):
He's a true Carrot's part of his nickname.
Speaker 3 (11:35):
Well, hold on here.
Speaker 1 (11:35):
The only way that he's not on the on the
Mount Rushmore because he's like a legitimate bona fide medalist superstar.
All this right, if you look at recent pictures of him,
is sort of he he's sort of abandoned or he
outgrew it, like his hair is brown now he could
run from it. But you know what, Rich, if you
(11:59):
were going to do a legitimate list, not just Rich's list, right,
you'd probably have Seawan White, Ron Howard Man, Conan and Canela.
I think those are the four most mammoth redheads I
think in history of awesome is is Mike Schmidt too old?
Speaker 2 (12:20):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (12:20):
He did have ready here, huh. I think he's like
brownish red mustache? Is it red?
Speaker 5 (12:26):
You think if we did this like forty years ago,
he'd be like right at the top.
Speaker 1 (12:29):
You know, there's those debatable people when you look this up.
Because we asked Mike, who runs this place before?
Speaker 5 (12:34):
Who?
Speaker 3 (12:34):
Yeah, and he doesn't run this place.
Speaker 5 (12:36):
Just for anybody who's listening, he doesn't have any power
whatsoever here Fox Sports, Right, Chuck.
Speaker 1 (12:41):
Norris came up more like he's not a redhead. But
Chuck Naris always comes up like he's a ginger. He's
not a ginger. So I feel like Mike Schmidt is
one of those borderline guys.
Speaker 5 (12:51):
Yeah, you know, I.
Speaker 2 (12:53):
Feel you on that. It's like, I don't know because
I agree Mike Schmidt mammoth damn buy. If I considered
him a redhead, I might put him on the list.
But he's too he's two strawberry.
Speaker 1 (13:01):
Blunt, Hall of Famer, five hundred home runs, legendary third baseman. Yeah,
if we really fell into that credit category, he I'm
knocking out somebody and putting him in. All right, So
if there's any other honorable mentions based on this Andy
Dalton news that we got today and again the update
was because Dan announced this yesterday, but the update is
(13:22):
that Bryce Young gets to start because of the thumb.
What are your thoughts? Who would you add or take off?
Who are we forgetting Pete in Vegas? You're on the
Cavino and Rich Show eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox.
Speaker 7 (13:36):
Hi, guys, you're forgetting a great met lebron Derange.
Speaker 8 (13:40):
Rusty stocks Oh my god.
Speaker 2 (13:44):
How could I mister met himself forget Rusty Stubb In
eighty six they'll come out with ginger wigs to pay
tribute to him.
Speaker 1 (13:52):
He's in the conversation. He could be on your Mount Rushmore.
He's not on the Mount Rush. He's on the ginger bench.
Speaker 3 (14:00):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (14:00):
Yeah, I mean there's a differences watching With all due
respect to the red heads out there, there's levels. He's
a ginger when you are like orange hair, that's a
little bit of a rougher life to be at the
man and be an orange haired guy. That's so, that's
like Rusty stob ed sheering. I mean, that's a different level.
Speaker 1 (14:18):
You get extra level credit when you're like when you
lean real the orange.
Speaker 2 (14:22):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (14:23):
I was at a funeral once and I wondered if
someone there was Rusty Stob so I had to look
it up, like I because of the red hair factor.
To your point of my god, he's probably a little
bit older. By the way, it wasn't him. It was
not him. But to what Rich is saying, like when
they have the red hair, Yeah, oh wow. I wasn't
(14:44):
borderline at all.
Speaker 1 (14:46):
I got his rookie card. It's one with those multiple faces.
I think it's a nineteen sixty three special. You want it, Rich,
I'll sell to you. Ye him Howdy duty?
Speaker 2 (14:54):
And who else?
Speaker 1 (14:54):
No I do, I haven't. Who else are we forgetting?
Who else comes to mind? Is uh Vegas still there?
Speaker 2 (15:00):
And no?
Speaker 3 (15:01):
Who do we got?
Speaker 2 (15:01):
Danny g.
Speaker 6 (15:03):
The phone lines are actually starting to melt right now,
so I'm getting the.
Speaker 3 (15:07):
Hot topic of the day. You thought we went dummy fishing.
Speaker 2 (15:12):
We caught million. We caught a million dummies.
Speaker 3 (15:14):
Who people are like?
Speaker 5 (15:17):
I know, redhead.
Speaker 3 (15:18):
I just want to nominate my boy Fred.
Speaker 2 (15:21):
Let me tell you it's uh, he's ready. You know,
it's nice to know we call him Fredhead. I know, uh,
you know, Andy Dalton can't red and his family's fine.
But hey, it got us thinking of all the redheads
out there and Ed Cheran and Conan our heart to
take off my list case, you know, and Canello. So
it's that fourth spot I think I'm really looking for.
If you don't, because Louis c K I feel you.
Speaker 3 (15:43):
You know, I might not be the one growing up
in New York. DJ red Alert he had red hair
and freckles.
Speaker 2 (15:51):
D J red Alert give him some problem that for
also for diversity, like we don't have any black eys
of red hair on this list. That's a good one.
Speaker 1 (15:58):
How often how often do you look at a man's
shoes and how often do you see a man of
color with red hair? DJ red Alert had red hair
and freckles like red from show Shank. So anyway, give
us your your nomination, I guess for an official not
(16:22):
your personal, an official top four. You know what rich
when it comes to your personal that Sharon might be
on that one. Bro he is, He's a beast in
the music world and he garners a lot of respect,
So I would not. Oh well, what about see this
is very male driven in this conversation. What about Why
(16:48):
am I tring a blank in her name? Ruma has it?
Speaker 2 (16:51):
Ale?
Speaker 5 (16:51):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (16:52):
What about Adele?
Speaker 3 (16:53):
She's a redhead? Is she not?
Speaker 2 (16:55):
What about you? Was talking about ginger. Ginger from Gilligan's Island.
Speaker 5 (17:00):
You're talking singers just made me think of Rick Astley.
He was to give you.
Speaker 1 (17:05):
Up right, So we're forgetting we excluded women. I'm sexist
host like Lucille Ball, but way does she dye her hair? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (17:15):
Oh my god, Lucille.
Speaker 1 (17:17):
Black and white so much that every's going off. They
really are. I started downhill. How do women not count?
Speaker 3 (17:24):
Did we see a.
Speaker 5 (17:26):
Couple of Yeah, we named some females.
Speaker 1 (17:28):
Yeah, but rich was like Louis c k. And we
just named like like three legendary redheaded women.
Speaker 2 (17:33):
You know, you know what's funny? Can I make an observation?
I'm curious if anyone else can relate to this. Anyone
else's grandfather or an older generation have something about redheads.
I feel like my grandfather always used to be like
all redheads the World War two the greatest generation of
men World War two type of folks loved redheads.
Speaker 1 (17:54):
Less than two percent of the world's population is ginger.
Speaker 3 (17:57):
Did you know that?
Speaker 5 (17:58):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (17:58):
I think they're gonna be thinked eventually.
Speaker 1 (18:01):
Seriously. I read that somewhere because he read that somewhere.
He read that.
Speaker 8 (18:08):
It was like.
Speaker 2 (18:11):
Bigfoot and then redeads.
Speaker 1 (18:13):
Yeah, yeah, I can't believe of all the things that
we talked about today, I've had more bigfoot sightings than
redhead sightings. I really thought we were onto something when
we were talking about Fernando Allen's wave, when we were
talking about Bronni. But now you bring up redheads, the
phones light up.
Speaker 5 (18:32):
Yeah, we have loaded lines when we come back.
Speaker 3 (18:34):
All right, so.
Speaker 1 (18:37):
We got breaking news from Dan Byer and we get
to your phone calls. Is Cavino and Rich what's up?
Speaker 5 (18:42):
dB?
Speaker 2 (18:45):
Freaking news from Fox Sports?
Speaker 5 (18:47):
You guys want to know how I know it's the
NBA season. Zion Williamson out tonight for the New Orleans Pelicans.
He's going to miss their season opener against the Bulls
because of an illness. Oh you don't say. How about
Kawhi Kawi could miss multiple weeks. According to Shams, he's
already ruled out for.
Speaker 2 (19:05):
To have you Have you seen that funny meme going
around because it can't be real, but some guy wagered
like ten cents in Vegas to win like a half
a million dollars it was for Kawhi to play over
seventy games.
Speaker 3 (19:19):
That's actually ten cents pays four.
Speaker 5 (19:23):
That is funny. That is very funny.
Speaker 2 (19:25):
All right, well, hey no Zion tonight, Thank you, dB,
and listen all your phone calls. We're gonna get to
all them next. Plus Cavino spots got midweek major, all
the hot of stories in sports and entertainment. We'll talk NFL,
F NBA all here, right here on Cavino and Rich.

Speaker 1 (21:05):
The ginger is Andy Dalton, not playing this week, but
his family's good after the car accident.
Speaker 3 (21:10):
They're all good.
Speaker 1 (21:10):
His wife Jordan put out a public statement, but the
update was that Bryce Young is getting the start against Denver,
his first since week two. And speaking of Bryce in Redheads,
how about Bryce Dallas Howard? How about Ron Howard's daughter?
Speaker 2 (21:25):
Oh yeah, swing shwing.
Speaker 1 (21:28):
And speaking of shwings and nominations, Lennon Idaho said Rockel welch, So, dude,
good one based on the Andy Dalton who, By the way,
if there was a redheaded just for men, is there
a redheaded just for men?
Speaker 3 (21:43):
He should be on the box. It should be called
just for Andy.
Speaker 2 (21:47):
That's a good one.
Speaker 1 (21:48):
Who else would you put or who would you put
on that redheaded Mount Rushmore? I don't like doing the
Mount Rushmore stuff so much, but it really is fun
to think about because they're so unique and there's so
many great examples.
Speaker 3 (22:01):
Right just in sports alone.
Speaker 1 (22:02):
We named Dalton, Canello, we mentioned Sam Darnold, right, So
who would you put on that Mount Rushmore?
Speaker 3 (22:11):
Let's do a little crossfire, Rich.
Speaker 1 (22:13):
We're gonna go to your phones now eight seven, seven
ninety nine on Fox relyve from the tire rack dot
com studio quick thanks to Rapid Radios, the official communication
device of Fox Sports Radio. Rapid Radios are instant push

Speaker 3 (22:28):

Speaker 1 (22:30):
You'll get up to sixty percent off, free ups shipping
and a free protection bag. Add code Radio you get
an extra five percent off. Gotta go to the phone's
gotta have time for midweek major. Let's go, let's do it.
Speaker 5 (22:43):
Leve got oh yeah, Let's start with Tripp in Vegas.
Speaker 8 (22:45):
Hey, Trip, Hey, gentlemen, good great shows always. I got
three quick ones. Maybe Lucille Ball leave them MacIntyre. Yeah,
and then how about Prince Harry.
Speaker 1 (22:57):
You know it's a prince because I mean, but those
are all all great answers. Prince Harry though I don't
he's not on my list, but the other two, how
could he deny him? That's why this is really hard
because they stand out so much. But thank you man.
Let's make it quick. Jason your next, Jason and Fresno.
You're on the CNR show.
Speaker 8 (23:13):
All right.
Speaker 10 (23:14):
I got Jim Thorpe, Mary new Retton, and Kyler from
Beatson Butt.
Speaker 1 (23:20):
Heead Mary Rehtton had brown hair in my mind, but
thank you for playing along.
Speaker 3 (23:26):
Jason.
Speaker 1 (23:27):
Let's do Rapid Fire, crossfireka In, Renolikah and Reno. You're
on Bang Bang.
Speaker 5 (23:33):
Let's go.
Speaker 7 (23:34):
Hey, I got three? How about Ann Margaret Circa Viva
Las Vegas with Elvis and Red Fox, and I also
go with Lucille Ball. But Red Fox man, you.
Speaker 1 (23:50):
Dude, I mean he's he might be on the comedian
mount rushmore. Red Fox is in the conversation. So hey,
thank you very much, Miles Lancaster, California.
Speaker 3 (23:59):
You're on Cno are okay?
Speaker 7 (24:02):
Well you guys were driving me nuts by not saying
Bill Walton.
Speaker 1 (24:06):
Oh wow, Yeah, dude, you see he might be on.
And that's not fair because it's got to be the
top four of all time. Right, but if we're doing
a sports one, Bill Walton might be that fourth guy.
Speaker 5 (24:19):
All right, we're going to wrap it up with Hugh
in Ohio.
Speaker 7 (24:21):
What uph How about two time Academy Award winner Emma Stone.
Speaker 2 (24:28):
Yeah, she's hot. That's a good one. I like her.
She's talented.
Speaker 1 (24:32):
Wow, man, I like Amy Adams Bender. But thank you guys,
great stuff, and you could add to our list. We
can make it official at Covino and Rich at Fox
Sports Radio is the time.
Speaker 2 (24:45):
Another amazing Covino and Rich, ridiculous conversation.
Speaker 3 (24:48):
Exactly right.
Speaker 1 (24:50):
Get to one story for once, just one story. Let's
good story.
Speaker 2 (24:53):
Let's do it.
Speaker 10 (24:54):
Do it, Sam Covino and Rich get you over the
middle of the week, mid week major. I love that
we throw sports and pop culture headlines and topics at
the fellas, and it's like the kids say.
Speaker 8 (25:10):
That's summit.
Speaker 1 (25:11):
We definitely read here.
Speaker 10 (25:13):
To see it our score mid week major.
Speaker 2 (25:19):
Remix because we've.
Speaker 6 (25:20):
Got to give Spotty at least six and a half
minutes here.
Speaker 5 (25:22):
Okay, what's every week? Before we hand.
Speaker 6 (25:24):
Things over to the number one and only host of
this segment. You hear the horns, you know you've made
it to the middle of the week. Now Rich is
in Texas. Covino's here at the home studio, so Cove,
I'm gonna have you.
Speaker 5 (25:35):
Call heads or tails in the air?
Speaker 3 (25:36):
Go tails?
Speaker 6 (25:40):
It is actually tails out, buddy.
Speaker 5 (25:43):
So Cove gets first take.
Speaker 6 (25:45):
And now, ladies and gentlemen, the most famous person besides
Judy Bloom from Scotch Plains New Jersey.
Speaker 5 (25:53):
Spotty Boy.
Speaker 1 (25:53):
All right, hey, guys, I mean like this is kind
of fresh hot off the press, so we'll see it's
a little juicy.
Speaker 3 (26:00):
Dampire is gonna yell it. He might actually last week we.
Speaker 1 (26:03):
Talked about Robert Salle going to shop at Whole Foods.
Spotted at Whole Foods. This week, you know where he
was spotted at packers practice on the sidelines checking out
the offense for the as they were practicing for Sunday's
game versus the Jags.
Speaker 3 (26:17):
He sure it was him, not another bill.
Speaker 2 (26:19):
It was him.
Speaker 1 (26:19):
He was spotted there at the facility, longtime friend of
coach Matt Lafleur. Lafleur spoke after a practice saying he
has a quote fluid role with the team, just hanging
out this week, give it a second set of eyes.
Speaker 5 (26:31):
Nothing really long term.
Speaker 1 (26:33):
He was staying with Lafleur for the week, so just
showing up a practice. Who knows, maybe more permanent role
in the future, maybe your major.
Speaker 2 (26:39):
Look.
Speaker 1 (26:39):
A lot of these jobs in the NFL, jobs in
life are built on relationships. So is it true they
have a friendship. Of course they have a friendship. But
that's how things get rolling, that's how conversations start, That's
how people get jobs into the next level. I'm rooting
for the guy. I think this is major, by the way,
for the guy. I don't like how the Jets handled
this situation. I feel like he was the escapegoat to
(27:02):
the whole Aaron Rodgers situation. So I'm hoping this pans
out good for him. I think there's smoke there rich eventually,
maybe some fire in Green Bay.
Speaker 2 (27:11):
Listen. You know me, I'm a Robert Sala fan. I
feel like he was a scapegoal. Like you said, he'll
land on his feet, and you know what, some people
don't want to be away from the game. Like we suggested,
maybe he just take the rest of the year, regroup.
He'll get a defensive coordinating job somewhere. But he's back
at Actually no. What it reminds me of remember when
the Chargers got rid of Anthony Lynn and Kyle Shanahan's like, Yo,
you're gonna be my assistant coach and we'll figure it out.
(27:33):
He ended up being the forty nine Ers running back coach,
and now he's with the Commander. So a lot of
these guys can be don't want to be on the
sideline for a minute.
Speaker 1 (27:40):
How about when Chunk was seen with Slock and Chunk said, oh,
you're gonna live with me now?
Speaker 3 (27:45):
Remember that? Yeah, all right, that great joke.
Speaker 1 (27:51):
Fifty to fifty home run ball finally has a new owner,
despite some of that ownership controversy over who's snagged the ball,
the actual owner to forego his free what was it
like a photo op in a bag of peanuts and
hand it over to Golden Auctions. Earlier this week, Ken
Golden spoke that it could go for his high as
ten million, while the auction closed last night four point
(28:11):
three nine two million dollars, making it the highest price
ball not only in baseball but in any sport, breaking
McGuire the record for McGuire's ball midweeker Major Major again
Mark McGuire seventieth home run sold for three million. This
sells for over four When all said and done, this
was a major moment in sports. We don't even know
(28:33):
who got the ball. That's a mystery in itself. You
have to imagine some super rich Japanese baseball fan. But yeah,
it's a legendary moment, and there's still controversy behind. You
know what happened and how we rechieved balls. Moving forward,
it's a big story. Props Major.
Speaker 2 (28:50):
You said, you said retrieved balls.
Speaker 5 (28:52):
He retrieved balls.
Speaker 2 (28:54):
Listen, this is major simply for the fact that someone's
family stars have changed because someone caught a damn home
run in the stands crazy like Camino. Imagine all of
a sudden, someone in your family's, like our family bank
account now has an extra close to five million dollars
in it. This is life changing because someone got lucky
right place, right time. It's like winning a mini lottery.
Speaker 1 (29:16):
I think it's awesome, you know what the weakest part
of the story is, though, The only weak part about
the story is Ken Golden overshooting the estimate by saying
ten thousands. Then it makes I mean ten million, because
then it makes it look not as valuable as he
thought out was. No, no, maybe it's like the old
Trump part of the deal, where you overshoot and get
what you really want anywhere it is stam Maybe, so
(29:37):
he's the expert. I love his shit. Rich, this one's
for you. Fresh off the NLCS appearance, the Mets have
made it clear that they plan to spend some big
bucks in the off season. Of course, with Steve go
Cohen behind them, and they freed up about one hundred
and fifty million in salaries, they're going to be spending
a ton of money. Sterns David Stearns said, quote, the
entirety of the player universe is potentially access to us.
(30:00):
There's an enormous opportunity. I envision us taking advantage of
that opportunity and being aggressive in certain spaces. Of course,
there's no secret that they have their eyes on Wan
Soto Orioles Pitcher, Corbyn Byrns. So we'll see how goes
Midweek or Major. Rich, you take this one.
Speaker 2 (30:15):
I feel like David Stearns is gonna invite Wan Soto
up to the game show booth. Big money, big money,
big money, big money. Stop no whammys yo, hey with
your owner. I'm going to the yakeys. I hope he doesn't.
But when your owner and GM are talking about how
we're freeing up a lot of money and we're gonna spend, spend, spend,
(30:37):
and the team already has a good vibe, it makes
Met's fans really excited for the future. And that's what's
the problem baseball. A lot of teams owners and gms
don't want to pony up. That's why you gotta love
Uncle Stevie Cohen.
Speaker 1 (30:48):
Yeah, I agree with everything Rich said. Very major because
there's major money involved, which involves major superstars. And if
you look at the track record, I know Soto is
really fitting in New York in the Bronx right there
with all those Dominican fans Washington Heights. But guess what
cityfield is not that far and they got a lot
(31:08):
of money to spend, and he seems to chase the bag,
as they say nowadays. You know he's been on three
teams already. What's stopping him from a fourth? You know
he's going to negotiate, and I think this is very major,
all right, I guess I could squeeze one more so,
Baker Mayfield. I don't know if you saw the clip
floating around where people were calling him out for.
Speaker 3 (31:27):
Slipping a nicotine patch into his mouth.
Speaker 1 (31:29):
Yeah, well, Zin, the brand behind the pouches is not
actually I guess, not capitalizing, but using his opportunity to
send out a good message. They actually chastise the Bucks
QB for releasing a state by releasing a statement saying
Swedish Match, which is the brand behind Zen, appreciates its
loyal customers and encourages them not to show the product
in any situation where someone under twenty one years old
(31:52):
could see it. So they're just kind of giving him
a little bit of flack. Also, NFL policy states you
can't have any alcohol or tobacco on the field or
during interviews. So who knows if a fine will come
down as a result of that midweek or major Uh,
major because I feel that any young person, especially a
young person that continues to make these mistakes and dabbles
(32:15):
with nicotine knowing how bad it is for you. We've
seen so many horror stories in our lifetime. Like, to me,
that's just foolish, and I think we should learn from
other people's examples. You know, you got to be a
total speaking of redhead legends, you gotta be a total
bozo to dabble in that aura and today.
Speaker 2 (32:32):
Way redheaded legend. Can you know, by the way, there's
no uh, this is only nicotine.
Speaker 3 (32:37):
There's no I know.
Speaker 1 (32:38):
But still, like you're you're a professional athlete, man, don't
you want to like put the best fuel in your body?
Why are you doing this on the field on the
sideline And you know I'm a Baker fan. I'm just
saying I don't. I don't really condone any of that
behavior period.
Speaker 2 (32:51):
Man. I think it's sort of mid because I think,
I mean, if you're gonna go around the world up
sports and see who's chewing on some chew or the
drinking or smoke weed in the NBA, like people do things.
Man there, we're grown ups.
Speaker 4 (33:02):
Go on, just put a niccoderm CQ patch on your
throat or something. I don't know, they're just on your
neck or whatever.
Speaker 5 (33:08):
All right, thanks, I have lots more. It can be
more time next week.
Speaker 1 (33:12):
Thanks. Next week, it's more time for spot. Just one
more minute. That's all I ask for. Thank you, all right,
dB take it away, guys. We've got some news coming
up for Sunday Night football. Rich is Niners taking on
the Dallas Cowboys. On the Niners side of things, said
coach Kyle Shanahan says that Deebo Samuel does have a
chance to play on Sunday despite being hospitalized earlier this
(33:33):
week with pneumonia. On the Cowboys side of things, the
four Worth Star Telegram is saying that kicker Brandon Aubrey
miss practiced today because of jury duty. In fact, Aubrey's
been picked to serve on a twelve person jury for
a felony case and could miss other practices this week.
It is not expected to affect his game availability for Sunday,
(33:53):
but the Cowboys could be without their kicker because of
jury duty.
Speaker 2 (33:57):
That is wild, I get it, dude. I mean, like,
is he is he that committed to his community?
Speaker 5 (34:04):
He was like you would think that would be the
excuse to get him out of it. I played for
the Cowboys and it's kind of the on season right now,
but he wanted to keep his commitment and ended up
getting picked for the jury.
Speaker 1 (34:16):
So he's one of the twelve on the jury. By
the way, I don't want to chase it. But I've
never ever done that ever? Am I the only guy here?
Speaker 5 (34:23):
I've not ever done it? I've done I wasn't picked
for a jury, but I went in and was questioned, Yeah.
Speaker 1 (34:29):
I've never done that either, either that or I ripped
the envelope up just never.
Speaker 5 (34:33):
I think we've all said it right. I mean, I'm kidding.
Speaker 6 (34:36):
I just got my very first one in the mail
and it says that I'm due there November twelfth.
Speaker 5 (34:44):
I don't have to kick for the Raiders that week?
Speaker 2 (34:47):
Is it also like a little insulting if they don't
pick you, Like, what's wrong with me? Am I not
a citizen good enough for this? You know?
Speaker 5 (34:53):
Man? Yeah, it's quite a process. A couple of other things.
Panthers are gonna start press Young had quarterback Week eight
because Andy don't sprain his thumb in that car accident yesterday.
Other quarterbacking news in Cleveland, Brown starting Jamis Winston at
quarterback against the Ravens. In Week eight, Chiefs acquired DeAndre
Hopkins from the Titans. Those Titans, by the way, will
be starting Mason Rudolph against the Lions as Will Levis
(35:15):
is still likely out with that shoulder injury. Seahawks also
got Ernist Jones the fourth from the Titans, and a
linebacker swap with Jerome Baker and a fourth round pick
going to Tennessee. In the NBA, Pelicans forward Zion Williamson
going to miss tonight's opener against the Bulls because of
an illness. Pelicans guard de Jontay Murray will play in
that game he missed yesterday because of a family matter,
(35:35):
while the NBA, according to ESPN, will look into y
seventy six er center Joel Embiid is going to miss
the start of the season because of a knee injury.
The NBA is investigating guys.
Speaker 1 (35:45):
Back to you, dB, you can't say family matter and
pretend like we're not going to think about Steve rkle Right.
Speaker 2 (35:51):
You said that tonight immediately was like gunny cheese.
Speaker 1 (35:55):
Thank you, dB. It's Cavino and Rich on Fox Sports Radio.
And you gotta stick around. We got If we have time,
we'll talk some Grooden, Next and Rich.

Yeah, you gotta hear these stories he tells.

we were representing Fox Sports Radio. So check it out.
Always representing and thank you guys for being here once again. Now, Rich,
this whole Cruden story, maybe we discuss it tomorrow or
(38:34):
on over promised.
Speaker 2 (38:35):
Yeah, we can get into it a little more then.
I just thought it was interesting if people don't know
we're talking about John Gruden said he roots for your Raiders,
Danny g even though they did him dirty and all
the allegations and the old emails and everything came out
while he was on the Raider's clock, he still feels
as though he has a soft spot for them, like
(38:56):
that's his team still and he's all about it.
Speaker 6 (38:58):
Yeah, I mean I can see that from his time
there in the black Hole in Oakland.
Speaker 1 (39:02):
Did I see his son also and on the staff, so.
Speaker 5 (39:07):
Yeah, he's weight training, you see them.
Speaker 3 (39:10):
He's it's hard.
Speaker 1 (39:11):
It's hard to root against like the organization that your
son works for and that you were such a big
part of.
Speaker 3 (39:18):
Already, I could see that they did him dirty.
Speaker 1 (39:21):
So maybe there's some resentful feelings, like I got resentful
feelings to other places and people that did me dirty,
But that doesn't mean I'm rooting against them.
Speaker 6 (39:29):
Well, and it's the NFL who threw him under the
bus there with those emails. We never got to the
bottom of that, really, and I'm not sure what the
latest is with that lawsuit and everything, but I wonder
what the trajectory of the Raiders would be had that
never happened to Gruden, because you remember the team was
starting to finally trend in the right direction.
Speaker 3 (39:49):
It was a huge setback and it.
Speaker 1 (39:52):
Was so like so many third lines to that story,
and they still wound up making the playoffs that season.
Speaker 2 (39:58):
Remember, and if you remember Danny, he was a big
part of their future plan. Like it wasn't just oh
he's our coach. That was like the ten year deal,
like Root's part of it. And yeah, man, it's it's
it's wild to think that it just all went south,
but it begs the question when you leave a job.
When you leave relationship and people go in a different direction,
(40:19):
do you root against him or is that like sort
of sour grapes, Like you almost like want your exes
to be happy. Maybe you're not as happy as you are.
Maybe you want them to be like with someone maybe
can you know, slightly less handsome than you. I don't
know what you're.
Speaker 3 (40:32):
Yeah, take that's usually my preference.
Speaker 1 (40:34):
So I don't want them to be with Gaston like,
oh man, that makes me feel great. I want them
to be with some some weakness. Yeah, I don't want
them to be with nice and I want them to,
you know, be happy. But I think it also matters,
like who did the breaking up. That's really what it
comes down to. If you did the breaking up, of
(40:54):
course you want them to be happy if they left
you in the dust.
Speaker 3 (40:57):
It takes some time.
Speaker 1 (40:58):
It takes some time, and you wish them well and
you you won't get health and good vibes for everybody.
Speaker 3 (41:03):
But how do you root for your exes? Is the question?
Which is right?
Speaker 5 (41:08):
You know?
Speaker 1 (41:09):
When I look at social media now and I see
all my exes and their happy marriages and and their
kids and beautiful families, I like to take some of
that credit. To be honest, I'm like, haven't I been
such a bad old friend? They would have never found
that guy. That's it right there. Yeah, twisted logic. Yeah,
I know, I'm just kidding, but my real feelings are like,
hey man, it's really nice. I'm glad they're happy. I'm
(41:31):
glad they had everything worked out for them. I think
that's a healthy mindset to have.
Speaker 2 (41:35):
I mean, could you know you just prepared them for
didn't want. One of Comito's exes once said thank you
for being with me because I found out what love.
Speaker 1 (41:42):
Wasn't That's true, I swear to God. Yeah, I got
to like a long letter written to me.
Speaker 3 (41:46):
I said that. I was like, that's great.
Speaker 2 (41:49):
Hey, listen, be John Gruden, be better than that. Your group,
of the success of your exes, your old jobs. We'll
see you guys tomorrow. Until then, have a good night,
Ribadi baby, see you in
Speaker 3 (41:59):
The Promised Land and
