Speaker 1 (01:00):
I Action packed hour ahead of us. We got mid
week major. We do it every Wednesday. Gonna turn your
hump day into a hump night with the biggest stories
in the world of sports. And pop culture. I'm telling you,
Spot's got some juice. He's got some tea. But we
break it down by the way, I like spilling the
tea because spilling the beans that was always like sad

(01:21):
to me as a Mexican guy, Like why would you
spill the beans?

Speaker 3 (01:24):
You?

Speaker 1 (01:24):
I don't care. Yeah, I waste the tea. If that's
the kids want to go with, that's cool with me.
So Spot's got the stories. We decide if they're mid
week or major. Again, we do it every mid week
and an exciting night ahead of US Dodgers at the Mets.
That's why riches in New York. He is mister met
by the way, they just paint his big head and uh,

(01:47):
I can't wait to see him out there. Are we
gonna see him? You know what's funny, here's a little
fun fact about CNR on FSR, our first real TV gig.
We did a talk show live in New York City
back in the New York Groove, Times Square SNY Covino
and Rich on SNY, home of the Mets, Jets and

(02:08):
all things in New York Sports and formerly a home
of Covino and rich We had a great time there.
But because we worked there. We still may know some
cameramen on site. You think they'll find Rich in the crowd.
That would be great, dude, It would be so great, dude.
Why don't you reach out them? You want them to
find me? Yes, if I'm sad, dude, you gotta let

(02:31):
him know you're there. They'll zoom in on Rich when
he's happy. Yes, and then if something bad happens, you'll
see sad Rich.

Speaker 4 (02:38):
I want video of Rich well after the live incident
fighting with somebody on the ground for the Otani home
run ball and by the way, Danny g and then
it for it to go viral, maybe.

Speaker 1 (02:49):
He gets on TV. But let me reveal one of
Rich's like creepy secrets from back in the day. This
was like back in the early two thousands. It was
okay to be a little creep about that. No, no,
no radio story. Hold on. Rich would take like hot wayman. No, no, no, no,
he would take hot waymen to the game. We had
some Mets access back then, right because we worked at
US and Why and he would call the camera dudes

(03:12):
and he would get on the big screen like he
was some sort of hot shot.

Speaker 2 (03:17):
No no, no, no, here's the move if Hey, if
you gotta tell my story.

Speaker 1 (03:21):
Okay, well how did I ruin it?

Speaker 3 (03:23):
Well?

Speaker 1 (03:23):
No, if you gotta tell my story.

Speaker 2 (03:24):
The truth was our buddy ran the in stadium cam
and Sfield and I would bring dates there and I'd
be like, hey, in the sixth inning, when you do
the kiss cam, put it on me.

Speaker 1 (03:35):
I'm in section one, hashtag me too. Yeah, exactly what
I said. I was trying. It made creepier, right, what
are you talking about? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (03:44):
It was the early two thousand. It's a good So
that part is I only went to games with Spot.

Speaker 1 (03:49):
Yeah, so who is that Yukon Cornelius and David? Right, No,
that's Rich and Spot. So anyway, I kiss you. You know,
maybe Rich will get on TV if he uses some
of our old context. But hey, enjoy the game tonight,
and thanks for being here with us. Now, if you
just joined us, I pose a question and I'll explain
exactly where it came from. Again. Whim Bin Yama was

(04:14):
asked what surprised him most about his NBA rookie year,
and he was very honest about it, which I think
is really cool. Is still a little shocking because you
always get some sort of bs answer right. He says
some NBA stars, some are really impressive and inspiring in

(04:35):
the way they approached the game. But others that I
used to like by the way I used to like,
they disappointed him. He doesn't respect him, he doesn't like
him as much. Others that I used to like, they
don't seem like they put in as much work as
I thought they did. So you got to see or
imagine from women Yama's standpoint, He's so pumped. He's that

(04:56):
next guy. He comes in hungry, and he realizes that
other people aren't is hungry and aren't as ambitious about
playing in the NBA as he is. They're sort of
just going through the motions, riding on their high level
of skill as opposed to putting in the word.

Speaker 5 (05:10):
And I'll have that list of names in midweek major.
I'm kidding. Oh sorry kidding, But it did get us
thinking about it when your heroes disappoint and you know,
to tie it into something else too. It's also refreshing
to see, like how committed other people are. We mentioned
Brady Brady before, but did you see Brady's commitment to

(05:31):
excellence when talking about the Raiders and how he's so
pumped about the opportunity to be part of the organization
and more pumped about winning with the Raiders.

Speaker 1 (05:42):
Like that's commitment. Some people have that commitment, some people
do not.

Speaker 2 (05:47):
Yeah, well, you know Trevor Lawrence gets that criticism, Danny.
I think you and I have talked about that, where
Trevor Lawrence is known as a guy that doesn't live, eat,
and breathe football like others. Like there are guys in
the NFL that are like, yeah, I'm a good football player,
it's my job. And then there's others that like at
Jaden Daniels, who they say is in the facility at

(06:08):
four or five in the morning watching tape. Yeah, that's
from different cloths.

Speaker 1 (06:11):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (06:12):
Remember Kyler Murray took a lot of criticism over his lifestyle.

Speaker 2 (06:16):
Because remember they wanted to put that clause in the
contract the playbook one and everyone got all offended.

Speaker 1 (06:20):
Yeah, they wanted to keep them off of video games.
So when heroes disappoint, I will say this man working
in radio for over twenty years and meeting a lot
of cool people and a lot of our heroes, I
will say that most of the time, granted they're on
the radio, so our guests are putting their best foot forward, right,
So we're getting a positive version of most of our guests,

(06:44):
but ninety percent of them, ninety five even have delivered.
I think we've had great rapport and great interaction with
a lot of celebrity people and athletes.

Speaker 4 (06:53):
Okay, I want names, not to put you guys on
the spot, but who's the one athlete or celebrity that's
prized you the most because you heard negative things about them.

Speaker 1 (07:03):
I'll give you an actor. I'll give you an actor, Okay, dude,
Jeremy Piven, right Entourage Jeremy Piven Judgment. I love that
movie Ari. Everybody's like, dude, Jeremy Piven, what a jerkface?
Oh this guy. You don't want to deal with this guy.
But they didn't say jerk face. They didn't say jerkface, right,
Oh this guy? And you you get that sort of

(07:25):
feeling about Jeremy Piven, right, like, Oh, I don't know
what to expect about this guy. He plays a character
like that in movies and TV, and maybe he is
like that. Dude. Rich and I had more than one
interaction and sit down and interview with Jeremy Piven, and
he couldn't have been cooler, right, So you never know
when you're catching him or maybe the other person sucks.

Speaker 4 (07:45):
Yeah, now that's what I was gonna ask you. Okay,
the other side of the coin, Kaepernick, there you go, jerk. Yeah,
that really disappointed Rich.

Speaker 2 (07:53):
And this is before the kneeling and this is nothing political.
I'm a Niners fan. This is before the kneeling down
and the and the you know, Black Lives Matter. I'm
talking pre that. I'm at a party, Kaepernick is in
the VIP. Somehow, Covino and I find ourselves in the VIP.
I waited for just the right moment. His boys weren't there,

(08:14):
he was not with any women, so I wasn't cramping them.
And I'm like, yo, cap big fan Rich And at
the time, I was working at ESPN, and I said, Yo,
can we get a quick pick. I'm a big Niners fan, Yo,
keep killing it. And He's like nah, and he just
dismissed me.

Speaker 1 (08:27):
And I'm so sad. It really was what And granted, look,
everybody has a bad day. We got to keep that
in mind when we have these discussions. You got to
give people like maybe two chances. Sometimes maybe they're in
a rush. Maybe you rub them the wrong way. Maybe
you don't know how annoying you are, right and yeah,
you know I'm getting feedback now, Rich, this might disappoint you.

(08:48):
EP Workshop hit us up at Covino and Rich EP
Workshop says, me and a friend ran into Debo, Oh
Debo from Friday. I thought it was your boy. Okay,
so this is so actual. D was named after yeah,
the same Zeus lister. He ran into so Debo from
Friday at Pom's Casino in Las Vegas and my friend

(09:10):
asked for a photo. Deebo stood there for a second
and then said take the MF and photo and he
meant it, and he said he was just trying to
like be the characters. Maybe. My friend asked if I
wanted to real quickly exactly right? What yo? So look,
you might get a weird reaction one time, you get

(09:32):
might get it positive another time. But that's the risk
of meeting your heroes. And I think when Benyama had
pretty good ween, ben Yama had a pretty good uh
I guess analysis, you know, an assumption that he made
from seeing his heroes not putting the work effort in.
Now I do have I'm not gonna call all the

(09:55):
names out there, Rich said Kaepernick. But there's a few
comedians that I really admired and I thought they were great,
and then when I met him in real life, they
weren't as funny in person as I wanted them to be.
But in all reality like more, give us more more names. No,
But like you know, in reality too, I could be
that guy. I'm very animated when I'm on the radio,
it's not fake, but in real life I might be

(10:16):
a dud. I am. There's some performance who turn it off.

Speaker 2 (10:21):
I'll give you I'll give you some names, but I'll
give you a name of a couple people that lived
up to being kind. I know not everyone loves them,
but the Hulkster has always been cool. That's Hulkgan, fantastic. Yeah,
Steve Young Danny g is a guy that the first
time we met him slight cold shoulder and I was bummed.
And then we saw him again and he was the
nicest guy. So again, you can't judge someone on a

(10:44):
one time meet.

Speaker 4 (10:45):
Some celebrities maybe need to warm up to who's interviewing that.

Speaker 2 (10:50):
Rich Molly Molly Ringwold came on our show and she
didn't want to talk about any of the eighties movies
and I was like.

Speaker 1 (10:56):
Then, why do I want to talk to you? Get
He was like one of the Some people like embrace
and lean into the stuff that made them famous and
they have fun talking about it. Other people take the
Gary Coleman approach and they don't want to talk about
what's talking about? You know, what's a what you're talking about?

Speaker 4 (11:13):
Willis I had a hip hop moment like that on
a big rap radio station. The legendary rapper Guru of
the group Gang Star. Yeah, you guys know him well
from the East Coast. He's in the studio living legend rip.
He's he passed away from cancer unfortunately, but he's in
the studio.

Speaker 1 (11:29):
We're so excited to have him in there.

Speaker 4 (11:31):
And he looks at me live on the air and
he's like, I don't want to talk about my old songs.

Speaker 1 (11:36):
I don't want to talk about the classic thing.

Speaker 4 (11:38):
Yeah, he only wanted to talk about the project he
was currently working on. And he had a mean mug
look on his face like he meant it. Yeah, And
everybody that was standing around the studio, they all kind
of were like.

Speaker 1 (11:48):
A So this is series when heroes disappoint granted, give
him grace. You may have caught him out a bad
day more, but other examples, and again I felt bad
for wimbin Yama because it's like it's like seeing behind
the curtain and you're like, that's what's going on. That's lame.

Speaker 2 (12:11):
I have a I have a couple more. I'm thinking
about our our the interviews over the years. Now, it
doesn't mean he's a bad guy, but you were talking
about not what you wanted. Like I'm a huge fan,
and the interview.

Speaker 1 (12:26):
Didn't change my opinion him. I still love him. But
Martin Lawrence was on our show and I wanted him
to be my in. Yeah, your expectation was wrong, really,
you know, that's really it.

Speaker 2 (12:37):
It was so that was on me. I dangy. I
wanted Martin uh from the TV show. I wanted Mike Lowry.
I wanted Martin right, and we got like subdued, chill,
fun like good conversation but.

Speaker 1 (12:51):
Like like nice guy but not like you know, making
us laugh Martin not Yeah, I didn't have a good
experience with that guy either.

Speaker 4 (12:59):
He ran at our behind for his interview time, and
then when he arrived he was not the nicest.

Speaker 1 (13:04):
Okay, so that's two examples. But he was nice to us.

Speaker 4 (13:08):
You know who was great working on the same film though,
Bernie Mack.

Speaker 1 (13:11):
Oh yeah, I can see that.

Speaker 4 (13:13):
Yeah, he like did his part and then picked up
Martin Slack.

Speaker 1 (13:19):
So it's sort of there goes my hero. He's ordinary,
and it makes you feel like That's why I never
really wanted to meet guys like Derek Jeter, because I'd
rather keep them at hero status. I don't want people
like that to let me down. And I realized, like, ah,
he's just a dude, or he maybe the coolest guy
that ever was. I don't know, but I never met him,

(13:42):
and I'm okay keeping it that way for that reason,
you know what. You know, what's interesting.

Speaker 2 (13:49):
I think sometimes when you meet people in positions guys
that you think like, oh my god, they must be
like not not so smart. But if you meet a
man or a woman it's in charge of something, sometimes
you assume like they must be a genius, and then
you realize like, not really, they're just good at what
they do and they got a good opportunity. Like that

(14:10):
you felt when when you met Lanny Pofo, the late
Great Laddy Pofo.

Speaker 1 (14:17):
Joking, that's exactly the genius. The genius. No.

Speaker 2 (14:19):
I mean there are times where I've met people where
I'll give you an example, really great guy.

Speaker 1 (14:26):
But when I met.

Speaker 2 (14:27):
Steve Phillips when we worked at Sirius XM and he
worked for MLB Radio, I was like, you were the
GM of the Mets and we would talk baseball. I'm like,
this guy just knows a lot about baseball. He's a
regular guy. He's just a really nice guy. So you
start to realize, like they're just regular guys.

Speaker 1 (14:44):
Is this ordinary? Yeah? I get it.

Speaker 2 (14:47):
As Dave Grohl said, there goes my hero, watch him,
Massy goes.

Speaker 1 (14:56):
I have another takeaway from this too, man again, based
on waymbin Yama's experience in the NBA's first year, get
to it. After these phone calls, we got JK and Vegas? Right,
want's talk about de bot real quick eight seven seven
ninety nine on Fox? What up? JK? How you gotta
doing great show again? Thanks man? You know could have

(15:17):
just dropped one hundred grand on a game and been
a little paturned about that soon, Vegas, you gotta take
things with a grain of salt.

Speaker 3 (15:24):
You never know.

Speaker 1 (15:25):
I'd say any time to be fair, To be fair,
you don't know what anybody's going through. They've been haggled
that day. That goes for anybody, true, So I do
want to what if you've bumped into them twice, That's
what I'm saying. You know, if you have a few experiences,
then I'd say that's a better assessment. That's the word
I was looking for before. Now, Rich another takeaway and
I'll take more phone calls to eight seven, seven ninety

(15:47):
nine on Fox. Think about what win ben Yama's saying.
He's going there with this this certain level of expectation
of the NBA and what it takes to make it
and a certain level of discipline. It does to show
you how many people are on the professional level totally
riding on their natural athletic abilities. Like I heard somebody

(16:10):
too this week and I can't it's drive me crazy,
but they were talking about how they don't really make
health their priority and how they eat. It was somebody
in the NFL, I think, and they're like, yeah, basically
I eat like crap. You know, want everybody know, Yeah,
my diet is ass and it's terrible, and I eat.
I eat McDonald's in fast food all the time, kind
of like Floyd Mayweather before a fight, right, yeah, and

(16:31):
he goes, But what I do is make my body
a priority, and I hit the gym and I get
all the treatments and I'm taking cold bats all the time.
You know. But it does bring a reality to you
that like some of these dudes are just riding off
their natural skill. They're not putting that extra like Tom
Brady like of like effort into it. And imagine how

(16:54):
great other people could have been if they were fueling
themselves and committing themselves the way Whimben Yama thought they were.

Speaker 4 (17:01):
Part of its DNA, right, because remember last year DK
Metcalf came out said he eats only one meal a
day and it was candy.

Speaker 1 (17:08):
And that dude's a freak. He's ripped, he's shredded, and
he's eating candy like that all the time. So again
I could see where wim Bin Yama's coming from. He's like, yo,
he's trying to put weight on. He's probably got this
crazy level of discipline. He's in the NBA, and he's
seeing all these other dudes like just riding on their
natural skill.

Speaker 4 (17:26):
That's the way Shaq just used to show up like,
all right, I'm here and Kobe's problem. Kobe was like,
are you serious, man? I killed myself getting ready.

Speaker 1 (17:34):
For this right now. It was his biggest criticism. What
did he say he'd have more championships if he would
have took his health more serious. He said they would
have ten. Yeah, so that's what his realization is. And
it's sort of awesome yet disappointing. And you know what,
when you really put it in perspective, it gives guys
like wem bin Yam an edge. It gives you an

(17:55):
edge because that reality, when you have that epiphany, you realize, yeah,
that dude's no better than me. He just put himself
in a great position. So it gives you. It gives
you an edge to be better.

Speaker 2 (18:07):
The observation that wem ben Yama made about his teammates
how some are all in and some are just naturally talented,
and you're like, wow, he doesn't put the effort in.
I mean, that's the story of a lot of NFL
quarterback busts, the JaMarcus Russells of the world, Johnny Manziel,
guys that dominated. They got to the NFL, and you know,
you saw it in the documentary Johnny Football. He just

(18:27):
wasn't prepared mentally to put in the next level of
work it took to be an NFL.

Speaker 1 (18:33):
Quarterback exactly, dude, exactly. And you saw it on Hard Knocks,
Danny g.

Speaker 2 (18:37):
You saw on Hard Knocks how there are certain guys
that are wizards of the playbook, and every coach on
different you know, on every team is impressed and they're like,
we got to get this guy. And then you get
to a point where it takes that next level, and
some guys aren't willing to go there.

Speaker 1 (18:52):
So if you want to leave your story when heroes
disappoint and your thoughts on Wimbin Yama, hit us up
at co and Rich at Fox Sports Radio, hashtag Covino's demand.
I'll never let you down and we'll get to your
phone calls and feedback next plus midweek Major We do
it next right here on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (19:14):

Major the biggest headlines in the world of sports and
pop culture. We do it every Wednesday? Are they Midweek
or major Spot? He's got the t and he's gonna
spill it, Danny G. And I came up with one
more answer. I'll say it, Danny J. You don't have

(21:01):
to say it.

Speaker 3 (21:02):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (21:03):
I held back in the last segments. I didn't want
to sound like an s talker, right right.

Speaker 1 (21:07):
I know what it was to a girl didn't live
up to the hype. No, no, she's great. I think
she's lowly. I think she's exceeded that she rescues pets
from Shelton. Yeah, she seems to be a nice person.
I like her. Oh no, I was saying the move anyway,
Oh the move? No, no, no, no, Rich, I want
to see if you remember this, we're talking about when
heroes sort of disappoint because Wembin Yama was sort of

(21:31):
disappointed to see how so many of his heroes in
the NBA just going through the motions, not really committed
to putting the work in.

Speaker 2 (21:40):
And you know what, that's a weird eye opener for
a young kid that can't even legally drink, right. I mean,
he's thinking, these guys must put in all the effort
in the world, and he's thinking.

Speaker 1 (21:49):
Well, oh, I guess they don't. But again, the silver
lining is that gives him the edge. Man. It really
does in reality. But I remember being really excited to
me a hip hop legend, a legend, and I wouldn't
have brought this up until Danny G confirmed that he
had a similar experience more than once. But Rich and

(22:10):
I interviewed jay Z, and I remember it going well,
but it was still jay Z, so there's still that
awkward feeling. But I remember saying, all right, man, hey,
mister Z, thanks for being on the show. I remember
when this segment ended, I'm like, all right, man, thanks

(22:30):
for being here. Man, appreciate it. Let's get a pick
and he went nah, And I was like, oh for
real and he like totally. Rich. When you think back,
how many people have denied you as the host a pick?
Not many, bro, And it was jay Z that comes
to mind for me. Not many. No one else really
denied me a pick of someone that was a guest

(22:52):
on our show.

Speaker 4 (22:53):
I got him back for you cove to this day,
he does not like my face. I had three interactions
with him, and the last time he agreed to be
on my radio station to do an interview. So I'm
there excited and got the station cell phone right right.

Speaker 1 (23:08):
It was cool.

Speaker 4 (23:09):
I'm like, all right, maybe personally he's not that nice,
but professionally he's a dope rapper okay, and the listeners
want to hear him.

Speaker 1 (23:16):
It was his album release.

Speaker 4 (23:17):
So I get there, I'm excited, and he's at this
album release party that he threw on the West Coast
for this side of the country. And I get there
and his manager tells me, nah, you know what, we
don't have time for it actually, and I'm like, no,
I'm not going out like that. So I get the
station cell phone, walk up to Jay Z and I said, dude,
you're live on fifty thousand watts and I pushed the

(23:38):
phone in his face and he had to turn it
on and he talked about his album and everything. After
the eight minute interview, he looked at me and he said,
don't you ever bleep and do that to me again. Wow,
He'm so angry. Made me get out of the VIP area.
But hey, I got the interview.

Speaker 1 (23:53):
So look, hey, Danny g did his thing, but he
had a similar experience. Man, Like, he denied us of
a pick and I have no pick to prove that
he was on our show. And we we had that moment,
Sam before we move on. You got something? Okay, I'm sorry,
real quick. Do you guys know who Ram Emmanuel is?
He was the mayor of Chicago. He was also in
Obama's cabinet. I was in Chicago's twenty eleven. I was

(24:17):
there to see Soundgarden and I was in a diner
the next day and he was there and like, I
go and I follow him. I walk up to him
and he's like waiting to get into the bathroom, and
I'm like, oh, mayor, mister mayor, can I have a pick?

Speaker 5 (24:29):
And he's like, yes, we'll meet outside, but I'm going
to use the bathroom first.

Speaker 1 (24:33):
And I was like, I'm sorry, I really didn't mean
to make this awkward, and so, well, you know what
he took the pic with you?

Speaker 2 (24:39):
It was it was it was a little weird that
you peeked over the urinal to take the photo.

Speaker 1 (24:42):
Oh it was outside the bathroom.

Speaker 5 (24:44):
But I was like, he's like, let me use the
bathroom first and I'll meet you outside a minute.

Speaker 1 (24:48):
I thought you were going to say something about Chris Cornell.
I was ready to beat you up. So I'm glad
it was that guy Chris Cornell could treat me like dirt. Yeah,
been blessed. So we do this every Wednesday, do we? Yes,
we do. Let's do it.

Speaker 3 (25:01):
Let's do Coveno and Rich get you over the middle
of the week when.

Speaker 1 (25:06):
Mid Week Major.

Speaker 3 (25:09):
I love that we throw sports and pop culture headlines
and topics at the fellas and it's like the kids.

Speaker 5 (25:15):
Say, that's summit.

Speaker 1 (25:17):
We definitely here to see it.

Speaker 3 (25:19):
Our scoring mid Week Major.

Speaker 4 (25:24):
Remix because we got to give Spotty at least seven
full minutes here all right, before we hand things over
to the number one and only host of the segment.
Usually we roll the big sticky red Love Dice in
the main studio, but riches away for the Mets game
in New York. Coveno's in the home studio. So Coveno
from Peecock, I have the Ben Mallard Ben the penny

(25:45):
what is it Benny versus hit TV show? Yeah, his
ass penny. Yeah it might be a quarter, but this
is theater of the mind. Spot stop ruining it, all right?

Speaker 1 (25:53):
All right, so.

Speaker 4 (25:54):
Covino, you call in the air, go heads, it is tail.
Hopefully that's gonna be the only win for rich tonight,
all right, rich And so that means, uh, yeah.

Speaker 1 (26:07):
I'll receive in the second half. I'll wait. No, no, receive.
That means rich gets the first take.

Speaker 4 (26:12):
And now, ladies and gentlemen, the most famous person besides
Judy Bloom from Scotch Plains New Jersey, spotty boy, I'm
gonna lead.

Speaker 5 (26:20):
With the juice because you guys could be no time.
I'm very upset about Oh it was the jew seven
minutes night. Rumors are swirling. Listen up, Danty g. This
has to do with you. Rumors are swirling that the
new Raiders owner Tom Brady has plans as part of
his first order of business, to Lord none other then
Bill Belichick to the Las Vegas Traders as.

Speaker 1 (26:40):
The head coach.

Speaker 5 (26:41):
I don't know so coming here, that's what I consider
The source podcast host Kurt as A Kirk minihan minahane
kah oh.

Speaker 1 (26:51):
Kurt Mannie. Yeah, Kurt Mannie's legit. He's one of the
nicest guys. I'm sorry I have an idiot. What what
do you say?

Speaker 3 (26:58):
Rich?

Speaker 1 (26:59):
Anyway, he made the claim on his podcast there's a
there's a does a bootleg Kurt Metafe account. I want
to Menifee, not Metafe, not Metafe.

Speaker 5 (27:06):
Now you Menahane.

Speaker 1 (27:10):
I didn't say Menafee. I know who Kurt Menafee is made.
It's like that, it's like that touch keep on the show.
But it was.

Speaker 5 (27:20):
He made the source on his podcast that two people
high up in the Patriots organization, which I don't know
what has to do with the Raiders, uh say, told
him that Brady's first movie's owner is going to be
to bring in Milichick uh current owner or current head coach.
Antonio Pierce said that he saw Brady around the hallways
meeting with the higher up, So who knows it could
be in the works midweeker Major, Rich, that's my juice,

(27:41):
you go first, Major. This is weak sauce.

Speaker 1 (27:44):
Why if it's.

Speaker 5 (27:45):
True, because it's not Kurt Menafie.

Speaker 1 (27:50):
Who this guy is? This guy reporting?

Speaker 5 (27:52):
Does he does a barstool podcast?

Speaker 1 (27:55):
He knows people? Well, maybe no people. Maybe there's some
juice to it.

Speaker 2 (28:01):
I think if Belichick were to go to the Raiders
with Tom Brady.

Speaker 1 (28:04):
That would be big for Danny G. So maybe it's
not weak. Maybe it is major, But I don't know
if there's much juice behind it. And Danny G.

Speaker 2 (28:10):
As much as Bill Belichick as a winner.

Speaker 1 (28:12):
In the past, is he the vibe for the Vegas Raiders.
I just don't think so.

Speaker 4 (28:17):
I mean, he needs a really good quarterback obviously, and
they are in position to hopefully draft one of the
top quarterbacks.

Speaker 1 (28:24):
I mean, we just talked about how Brady put out
this letter of commitment to the Raiders fans last night,
a commitment to excellence, and how his sole goal is
to bring victories and wins to the Raiders nation. If
he's serious about it, you don't think he'd reach out
to a guy that needs a job that he works
so closely with. It's not that impossible to think. Is

(28:46):
their juice to it? I don't know, But does it
sound like it's as possible. I think as possible. I'd
say if this were true, and maybe that's why they
wanted to work with Brady because he has these type
of actions in relationships, I think that could be major.
All Right, hates bringing it up.

Speaker 5 (29:06):
We all know that Minnie hat I didn't say.

Speaker 1 (29:11):
Kurt, I said, Kirk Kirk Minihane regular.

Speaker 5 (29:17):
We all know Taylors knows her way around a kitchen,
always whipping up treats for friends and family, even the team.

Speaker 1 (29:22):
Well the chiefs QB. Patrick Mahomes revealed that one of
the perks of having Swift as a Chief Swag.

Speaker 5 (29:28):
Is that she's been spending some time in the kitchen
with Mahomes' three year old daughter, Starling. Mahomes revealed on
The Drive podcast yesterday that his daughter is a big
baker and she and the pop star have been whipping
up some treats. He's tried some muffins and donuts courtesy
of the pair, and Mahomes confirms that she is as
good as everyone says.

Speaker 1 (29:46):
So midwe kerk Major I saw that, Harrison Bucker said, Major,
that's horrible. That's horrible.

Speaker 2 (29:58):
I think I think it's great, Mancho, She's a regular person.
It's great cooking with Mahomes kid. What's what's sweeter than
that they have a true bond. Brittany Mahomes and Taylor
of friends. Forget the rumors that there's a political divide,
and it humanizes Taylor Swift.

Speaker 1 (30:12):
Major Tada death netly major. I couldn't agree with Rich
Moore deftly major, totally major. Imagine having the pull for
Taylor Swift to be making cookies and muffins with your kid.
You're the coolest dad in the world. That's the greatest.
It's so major because all you want to do as
a parent is to create these memories and moments for
your kid and to make them happy. Taylor Swift doesn't

(30:34):
get bigger than that.

Speaker 2 (30:35):
Yeah, and I'm gonna argue that my Harrison Bucker Joe
got not I I.

Speaker 1 (30:39):
Thought it was fantastic, but it took me a second
and I thought it was I was so impressed that
I was in shock. I don't want to. I don't
want to it was. It was that good, all right,
I talked. I believe it was.

Speaker 5 (30:50):
Last week we talked on the show about Jake Paul's
five million dollars side bet with Tyson about the first
four he won't make it four rounds. Well, one lawyer
is making waves for and calling for Paul to be investigated.
Combat sports lawyer Eric Listen to the name Eric mcraken
says that the bet.

Speaker 1 (31:08):
I don't know, it doesn't matter, not aware. Yeah.

Speaker 5 (31:10):
Kurt Metafee says that basically that he's offering Tyson to
take it easy on him for the first four rounds
and if it's a professional fight, side deals that can
impact the outcome is not a good look. He reached
out to the Texas Sports Commission, who actually responded saying
they can't regulate private agreements made by licensed contestants. He's
also trying to get you know, the betting sites involved

(31:30):
and saying that you know, the affects the integrity of
the match and the bets that are being placed on
the fight midweek or major because.

Speaker 2 (31:40):
I think Tyson is don't want to have to go
to Jake Paul Tattoo. I think, and the deal isn't
if Tyson knocks him out in under four rounds, it's
if he lasts four rounds. I think no one should
be getting involved. It's a fun side bet. I don't
think it determines the outcome of the fight. It's like
when Pete Rose bet on himself.

Speaker 1 (31:57):
Yeah, and I think it takes away from legitimacy of
what we want this fight to be. So I agree
with Rich that's sort of week right, Yeah.

Speaker 5 (32:08):
One more all right, okay, uh okay, I'll squeeze this one.
And Donald Trump appeared on the Barstool podcast Busting with
the Boys.

Speaker 1 (32:15):
One of the talkings topics that.

Speaker 5 (32:16):
Came up was his twenty fourteen bid to buy the
Buffalo Bills. He said he put in a bid for
about one million alongside it was one of the three
final bids. Him stop doing that him uh joan bon Joe.
He was part of a group that was for the
bid for the time Boy John Boy no Jo. Ultimately
John Boy went to the owners of the Buffalo Sabers.

(32:38):
Trump did go on to say it, I thought this
was was interesting. He said that the current owners did
a great job. They made a great pick. Josh Allen,
great QB. Really like what he's doing there. Great pick
in Josh Allen. So midweek or major?

Speaker 1 (32:52):
I think it's major when you think of the butterfly effect.

Speaker 2 (32:54):
If Trump had won that bid, he would never probably
run for president and it would have just changed the
free of everything in our lives. So I think it's major,
and I think Josh Allen must be like, wow, Donald
Trump likes Again.

Speaker 1 (33:07):
I agree with Rich. I think this is major. Whether
you like Donald Trump or not. The fact that he
is aware of Josh Allen and his greatness. You know
how cool that must feel. That a president is like
a chain of you. You know again, whether you're a
fan or not, it has to make Josh Allen feel
pretty cool. I'm gonna do my dance for him. All right,
thanks guys, Thank you, Spotty. We'll be more time next week, please.

(33:30):
All right, So again, we got more CNR on FS song.
Give you eight minutes. We got Covino and Rich live
from the tairaq dot com studios. Let's go to Isaac Loowingcrawn.

Speaker 6 (33:43):
Well, I thank you, fellows. We'll start with some significant
news in Major League Baseball. The Athletic reporting this afternoon
that Jerry Reinsdorf is open to selling the Chicago White
Sox and is in active discussions with a group led
by former Major League pitcher Dave Stewart. Well, let's check
in with White Sox fans.

Speaker 1 (34:01):
Oh please don't please, oh please please? Anyway.

Speaker 6 (34:05):
In the NFL, New York Jets interim head coach Jeff
Ulbrichs says the newly acquired receiver DeVante Adams is expected
to play this Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers, despite of course,
missing the final three games of his Raiders tenure with
a hamstring injury. Meanwhile, today Aaron Rodgers revealed that Adams
has been staying at Rogers House since the trade. With

(34:26):
that in mind, Fox Sports Radio has obtained exclusive audio
of Rogers and Adams discussing this new living arrangement.

Speaker 1 (34:33):
Roommates agree that Friday nights shall be reserved for watching
Joss Whedon's brilliant new series Firefly E. Does that really
need to be in the agreement? We might as well
settle it now. It's going to be on for years.

Speaker 6 (34:47):
No wordy yet if there's a neighbor down the hall
named Penny anyway. Finally, the Denver, the Denver Broncos ruled
out star cornerback patzer Tan for Thursday night football at
New Orleans because of a concussion. Saints head coach Dennis
Allen rolled down receiver Chris oh lave Do to a
concussion and announce the receiver and returner Rashid Shaheed will
have Meniska surgery on his knee. Fellas, it's all yours.

Speaker 1 (35:09):
Hey, thank you, I's Buddy more Cavino and Rich next.
Now Rich the best feeling in sports is that electric
buzz of game day all around you. And when you're
looking for that same vibe, you have to check out
Graduate hotels.

Speaker 2 (35:24):
A state graduate is like stepping onto the field in
college towns, no doubt. And we continue our tour. Break
out the tour bus caf you know and Rich. We'll
be doing our Fox Sports Radio show live from the
Seattle location November first in a couple of weeks, the
day before the Husky's Trojans, and then we hit up Auburn.

Speaker 1 (35:42):
We missed that date because of the hurricane. We're going back.

Speaker 2 (35:45):
That'll be November twenty second, Auburn, Texas A and M
the friday before that, So the twenty second in Auburn,
the first of November in Seattle, and make note of
both those dates and come hang with the show.

Speaker 1 (35:57):
Yeah, we're broadcasting live and we're partying. So this is
your invite. College football's in their DNA. Graduate's all about

into a one of a kind hotel experience. They have

(36:18):
Keep that game day spirit alive and book your state

Graduate we're all students. All right. Welcome back to the

dot com studio. Remember to let Express Employment Professionals help

expresspros dot com. It's that rob zombie time of the year,
that spooky season. Football season is postseason never going to stop.
So all right, Rich, Not sports related, but news that

(37:08):
a lot of people's daughters may be affected by and
just big news in the music world. Do you see
that dude, Liam Pain from one direction passed away? Yeah,
he fell off a balcony in a hotel dude in Argentina.
I think right, it's terrible.

Speaker 2 (37:23):
Really really terrible story. That's sort of been the news
behind the scenes all show.

Speaker 1 (37:26):
I saw, like put this in perspective. You may not
know Liam pain. But you know, one direction, that's like
one of the members of in Sync or Backstreet Boars
or and KOTV is the I mean, one of the
guys from a very huge boy band passed away tragically.
I'm so sad to see that. And I'm not even

(37:47):
like a big fan or anything like, oh man, he's
only thirty one years old. It's terrible news.

Speaker 2 (37:50):
I mean, they got some good songs and he did
his solo thing. I was always shocked at one direction.
You know, they're a boy band put together by Simon Cowell,
and we've all had solo songs that were big, which
is so rare for a boy band, and they're saying
what I did see that he was acting a little
wild early in the day, breaking his laptop in the

(38:11):
hotel lobby and.

Speaker 1 (38:12):
Was acting a little funny.

Speaker 2 (38:13):
And who knows what the story is, but I'm sure
you'll see more of that. So just keeping you guys
in the loop on not just sports, everything going on
in the world.

Speaker 1 (38:20):
You know. Uh yeah, so sad news, but you're gonna
hear about it later. So sorry to bring that up.
Sort of a downer something that we have to get
to tomorrow. Rich Besides old school and fifty hits. We
do that every Thursday. We get you ready for Broncos
at the Saints. We reminisce and throw it back on
a Thursday. Got to talk about Lebron and what he

(38:42):
said about his son. So just something else look forward
to tomorrow. Lebron James says he's done talking about Bronnie.
Bronnie's his own man. I'm done answering questions about Bronnie.
And there's an article saying that was it weeniils ween
Neils are saying saying that you're not an adult, an adult,
an official adult until you're in your late twenties. Now,

(39:06):
that's what they're claiming that they're saying. Is there true?
It used to be it used to be eighteen? And
you know, Danny, you're a good person to ask.

Speaker 2 (39:12):
We could talk about this smart because you got you
got kids that are college aged with Brenda. Do you
consider them adults at eighteen? Or is that like an
old school way to think? That?

Speaker 1 (39:22):
Is so old school?

Speaker 4 (39:23):
I actually agree yeah no, because uh, he's still on
his mom's cell phone plan. We still help him with
his DMV stuff, with the car, and this is going
to be going on I feel like for a few
more years, he's twenty.

Speaker 1 (39:35):
Yeah, there's a new age. Well, we'll reveal the age
of what young people consider an adult to be tomorrow.
But is Bronnie his own man? Should he be his
own man? I don't think if he's in the NBA,
I don't think his dad should be answering for him
all the time. I do think that's gonna stop. Uh,
but we'll discuss that.

Speaker 4 (39:53):
That's like your boy Nick d on Love Is Blind
Season seven too, oh, because the girl he's with is like,
you're on your mom's insurance and your parents pay your
cell phone still you're twenty eight.

Speaker 1 (40:04):
Danny.

Speaker 2 (40:04):
That's such a weird thought because I listen, you realize that,
for instance, cell phone plans nowadays, like my wife and
I put my mom on my cell phone plan. That way,
my mom doesn't have a cell phone bill like you.
Now you start doing it for your older relatives, right.
But when they say that third or fourth or fifth
line is like practically free, is that your kid's way

(40:26):
of forever not paying for a phone?

Speaker 1 (40:29):
Feels that way?

Speaker 2 (40:30):
I mean, why would you Why would you make them
go pay for their own phone when they're getting it
for free.

Speaker 1 (40:36):
Yeah, it's sort of like your dad and you you
you you weren't on your parents plan because that didn't
even exist back then, and if it did, maybe you
would have been.

Speaker 2 (40:45):
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (40:45):
There's certain ways to look at it, don't think so,
because the thinking then was you're old enough to be
out of the house.

Speaker 1 (40:52):
You're your own person now. But Danni.

Speaker 2 (40:54):
Times changed, Danny, if that fourth line on you and
Brenda's family plan is, why would you then go make
your kid pay one hundred.

Speaker 1 (41:02):
Bucks when it's free? Oh? His line is not free?
Ah see, that's different.

Speaker 2 (41:06):
I was gonna say, like, for instance, like shit, it's
like sharing passwords on Netflix and Hulu and all that,
Like do you make Are you gonna make your kids.

Speaker 1 (41:12):
Get their own when they're eighteen? Like, so think about that.
We'll discuss tomorrow. Lebron not answering for his kid anymore
as his kid, A man is his own man? What
is a man? What's an adult in today's world? And
Rich any surprises tonight, any changes, anything's to look forward to.
As the Dodgers get ready for the Mets, saw that
the Yankees are taking Austin Wells out of the lineup

(41:33):
and putting Trevino in tomorrow. They're making some moves.

Speaker 2 (41:35):
Well I saw that the Mets are putting JD Martinez
in the lineup. Ah, So that's always scary because like,
do you want to mess with things at this stage
of the game.

Speaker 4 (41:45):
Yeah, let's go. JD hit into a couple more double plays.

Speaker 2 (41:48):
Yeah, JD's Danny, you know from when he was on
your team. He hit some bombs. But JD's great for
rolling into a six, four to three double play.

Speaker 1 (41:56):
That's always the question, like do you do you make
these adjustments now? Well, good luck to both your teams tonight.

Speaker 2 (42:02):
Enjoy until then, Rivaderci baby, see you in the Promised Land.

Speaker 1 (42:07):
Let's go, metic, Go Dodgers.
